The manager is totally rude and doesn't care! Customer service is very rude and doesn't care. And the delivery guys are the WORST!!! They will drop your furniture off, banged up, dirty, and totally damaged, and then tell you that it's your problem, not theirs. They'll 25 more deliveries, and that you need to call customer service if you have a problem. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE!!

I purchased a sectional and the warranty coverage. Had a hole in one of the pieces and was told it’s no longer available. Which the color is not but the whole couch is. In order to switch I would have to pay at $700 more for just the couch not including more if I want the warranty. Or get a different kind that is less than what I paid the first time plus I have to take it back or pay to have someone pick up the couch I have to return. Horrible experience and I highly recommend anywhere else.

Do yourself a favor and never ever buy anything from this store. They have the worst customer service ever. We ordered a dining table set to place an order for which we had to spend 40-45 mins multiple times trying to get to the customer care helpline. The order was placed, payment was made and then Brianna ** from VCF, Ballwin Missouri decides to cancel the order as their HQ tells them they need customer verification. We called customer care and they said there is nothing wrong with the order and they don’t need any verification or information from us. What the heck? Are they not communicating between stores and corporate office? Don’t they have a system in place. Will never ever think of buying anything from this store despite their intensive social media influencer marketing advertising etc.

On 7-17-2021 at 7:42 am I received a call from your delivery contractor stating that he was going to be delivering my furniture within 20 to 30 minutes from the time I spoke with him, he never told me his name nor what type of truck or vehicle they would be in, never explained how to got about communicating with him in the time of the delivery window never ask is there pacific entry that they would need use to bring the furniture into my apartment.
I call him back at 8:01 am to inform him that it is a pacific entry way of my apartment building that they would use to bring the furniture into my apartment. I ask him first has he ever delivery to my building before. He said NO. So tried to explain to him that I would need to direct them to that pacific entry way and it along side the building before the underpass. He cut me off before I could explain the rest and he would just call me when they are outside. I told him would need to be outside waiting (mind you in the heat/humidity) for them please let me know when you're close so I can be outside to direct you.
So whole another 30 mins pass and I call him back multiple times to see where they are or estimated time and he never answered his phone till I call him on my phone other line by mistake. He send back emoji eyes to that number and then I call him again from my second line and I ask, "Where are you?" Proceed to chastised me on how I ask him the question. I informed him that I have to report to work and I am outside waiting, he laugh out loud at me and told me he works too and he is at work right now and I told him, "Since you think this funny and game I would report you."
He went on tell me that he is the owner and he been doing his job for 11 years and I went on tell him that he needs to respect the customer and let them know what is going when the customer is outside waiting with either text message or a call to inform of any hold ups. Then he start to get loud with me and say we had hold up at a stop and that are not far away and that I did not say all that stuff to him and he hung up on me. After he hung up on me I walk down to the other end of 21st St to see where they were so I can direct them because he also refused to even give me exact location and the reason as is because he said he never been to my address before. I was trying to prevent any issues.
As I was walking I seen them pass my street (21st) and if I was not walking down the street and seen Value City sticker on the side the truck and wave my arm and yelled, "You're passing street," they would kept going god knows where. After they turn around and came down my street they just took upon themselves to turn down another wrong street and not call me and I had to yell again, "You're turn down the wrong street."
Once they got to right alley drive they bag up and block the oncoming traffic and he get out the truck with his chest all puffed out arm back and head all up and I told him to step back, do not walk up on me, you need represent yourself from a distance (I felt threatened by his disposition language body as he was walking towards me). Then he stated, "I am not delivering your furniture" and walk back to his truck and said, "Have a nice day" and I said, "I did not want you in my home anyway because of your attitude towards me and I will be going my money back." So they proceed to drive down the wrong side of the street and almost hit a oncoming car.
I believe he got a big enjoyment out of inconveniencing me and talking to me as if I was a child and treating me as such by acting unprofessional towards me and when I was trying make sure they could properly delivery my furniture to my home. I believe he treated me as such because I am young sounding female and that he believed that he could just disregard me and he will do it again and has done it in the past to other customers that are female if not corrected in the future.
NOTE ****I do not want this particular individual delivery contractor ever back to my home to deliverer anything in the future from Value City and please make note to my account of this for this particular individual delivery contractor. Also the manager of the J. ** is Liar and every rude and disrespectful and I can see why the worker are the same. It starts at the head with management.

How are they in business right now? I ordered a bedroom set that was not in stock at the time of purchase. I was not informed at the time of purchase that this item was out of stock, so morally what kind of company takes your hard earned money for a child's bed that they never had. The purchase shouldn't of never been made possible. And so what if they refunded a shipping fee, "I guess this was an attempt to ensure customer service." Actually customer service would have been not selling a customer an item that was never in stock because that doesn't change the fact that my kid has been sleeping on his brand new mattress on the floor for 3 months but we have purchased a bed that they never even had. As if I want that brand new mattress to be on a floor. As if my kid even deserves this.
By far the worst. These people are true salesmen without morals. I don't need to contact the Better Business. I have my experience with this company. If you are a person making a large purchase beware. They clearly will say or do anything just to make a sale. This is my experience and this is facts. My receipt is completely faded. I do think that says a lot as well.

I purchased a new couch from Value City Furniture in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 06/09/2021. We had a great experience that day with our salesman Josh, extremely helpful and informative. This wasn’t my first purchase from this location as I have bought a lot of furniture here over the last 15 years. The day we purchased the couch we scheduled a delivery date for 07/01/2021. We expressed to our salesman that we worked 20 minutes away from our home and needed at least a 20 minute notice before they arrived. We were told that wouldn’t be an issue at all, that they typically give an hour notice before they arrive. We left happy and excited to get our new couch. July 1st we were told a window of delivery between the hours of 5:45 and 8:45 p.m. Which would be no problem as we would be out of work and home to take delivery.
At 1:16 p.m. that day I missed a call from an unknown number, no message was left. At 2:05 p.m. that same day, I received a call from Value City Furniture stating that the delivery drivers tried to reach me and were at my house to deliver the couch, and nobody was there. They were over 3.5 hours early. I told them I could be there in 20 minutes to take delivery. I then was told that they could not wait and we would have to reschedule. After much discussion with the Value City Furniture manager, they were able to get the drivers to wait for us to arrive.
Once we arrived, they unloaded the couch, opened it up to make sure everything was correct to set it up. Upon set up we noticed that they delivered two of the same side of the couch. So unfortunately, we had to reschedule another time for them to deliver the other half of the couch. So they rescheduled for 07/15/2021. I was then told by the warehouse manager as well as the drivers that they would be sure to get me at least a 30 minute window for the next delivery to get home in time. On 07/15/2021, we were told the hours of delivery would be between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. I called first thing that morning to speak with Value City Furniture to see when the drivers would call me to let me know when they were on their way, as I needed some notice to get home. Someone at the Grand Rapids Value City furniture location assured me that it was their policy to notify me 30 minutes before delivery.
At 2:16 p.m. I received a text message stating they were an hour away. At 2:17 p.m. I received a call from the drivers stating they were on their way to my house. I asked how far away they were, and they assured me that I had enough time to get home as I told them it would take me 20 minutes. At 2:28 p.m. I received a call from the drivers stating they were at my house, and they stated they would wait 10 minutes for me to arrive, or they would have to leave. 10 minutes later we arrived and they were gone. They would not answer their phone when I called to see where they were. I then called Value City Furniture in hopes they would assist me and get the drivers to turn around so they could swap the couch. I was told, by the Sales Manager, that they would not be able to do so and would have to reschedule again.
I am in retail, I understand that there can be issues with timelines with scheduling. However, there was no assistance from the Sales Manager in this regard at all. They have now rescheduled me again for next week Thursday, 07/22/2021. It is quite difficult for me to continue missing work like this when this was caused by a warehousing mistake on Value City Furniture's end in the first place. It seems unacceptable that the sales manager at the store did not make an attempt to find a quicker resolution to getting the correct piece of furniture to me sooner than next week. Adding that on everyone’s part, sales managers, drivers, who have stated to me that there will not be a problem giving me enough notice to be there to take delivery. I should not have to take an entire day off of work when a phone call was promised at least 30 minutes in advance of arrival.

Our family purchased a sectional and ottoman in April 2019 to the tune of $3000. Along with this, we opted into their PURE PROMISE furniture protection plan. This was an additional $300, but it gave us peace of mind knowing if anything spilled or put a hole in our couch, it would be covered. Fast forward two years, we notice a corner of the ottoman looking very worn. Closer inspection revealed the weave of the upholstery itself was coming undone. The white fabric below the surface was visible as individual threads could be moved easily with a finger.
As the warranty stated that it ”covers stains, accidents, and structural damage to fabric, leather, and wood items” we expected there would be no problem getting the damage taken care of. I submitted a claim that day, along with photos and a video demonstrating how the structural integrity of the upholstery was compromised. Within an hour, we received an email stating our claim had been CAREFULLY REVIEWED, but unfortunately the damage was considered normal wear and tear.
I contacted the company again, questioning their decision and really just asking them to take the evidence I presented into consideration. To take the time to actually REVIEW CAREFULLY. Along with my appeal I sent images of our 17 year old couch documenting what normal wear and tear looks like. A few days later I received a cryptic email saying the claim was reopened, but below was the same message saying the damage was normal wear. That was a month ago. Radio silence since then.
I suppose I'll have to follow thru with an arbitration, though I'd have much preferred to just have the company work with us in a responsible manner. I submit this review as a record of my experience with VALUE CITY FURNITURE. The pieces we purchased showed severe wear damage in a short time period and were not covered with a plan bought for that very purpose. I do not recommend patronizing this company.

This is the second furniture group that I have purchased from Value City. I got the warranty. I filed a claim and was told that it is normal wear and tear for the fabric to rip at the seam. However, the other pieces in the group did not rip. So my question is, if all of the chairs in the group get sat on, why are they not all ripped on the seams. The living room set is three years old. Is this the lifespan and if so, why did the first set last several more years than this one?

Second was liquid spillage on sofa and they rejected it saying they don’t cover anything which is more than 15 days old, the problem is while submitting the claim it didn’t even give me an option to pick less than 15 days so how can I select it. I asked them if they can fix the date on their end if I can try submitting it again, to which their service agent replied that it will be considered as duplicate and fraud if I open a new claim for the same issue. I never leave reviews, but I wanted to leave a review for this product because I wish someone had warned me against it. This couch is really gross. The cushions have no structure, and it's like sitting on a deflated beach ball. At least 20 to 30 feathers come out of the cushions each day, and when you sit on it, the pointy feathers poke out and are very uncomfortable. The pillows and cushions never stay in place and flop around everywhere. When we sat on the one in the store it seemed so nice to cuddle up on, and we didn't see any of those issues at all. So we got one, in a more expensive custom color, only to get it delivered and find out it was horrible.
I'm 6 months pregnant and I sometimes prefer just to sit on the floor. It also looks really bad. It's like a giant eye sore. I could have spent this money on any other couch and it would have been better. We are so disappointed. It's disgusting. We are trying to pay it off quickly so we can just get rid of it and start over with another couch.

I get an email confirming the purchase and date. I check the status a few days later and they’ve moved the delivery date back by three months. I’m not waiting three months for a sofa when I can get one elsewhere, that was why I chose this one in the first place.
I try calling their stupid customer service number that no one ever answers, repeatedly over the course of a week. I try to cancel and get a refund. I send emails that get vague non responsive replies. They say they can cancel but I have to pay a 20% restocking fee - literally days after ordering it after they deceptively changed the delivery timeline. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. We purchased a leather power reclining sofa about 2.5 years ago and also bought the extended warranty. The motor in one of the power recliners went about a month ago and since then we have been trying to arrange for it to be fixed under our warranty. Just so you know - they subcontract out all repair work. We were then told (after we called them multiple times) that they would have to come pick the sofa up and have it fixed in their warehouse and it could be gone about 14 days. So we would be without a couch for 2 weeks!! And our sofa would be taken out of our home during COVID. And this is after a month of non-stop aggravating phone calls to customer service (if you even want to call the department that). Please just save your money (and your sanity) and go to Raymour & Flanigan - a company who has their own in house service repair department. That’s what we’re going to do.

My three year old nephew could’ve lost two fingers because of this cheap ** furniture that they don’t want to fix or repair.
I talk to about 60 different people every day in my line of work. I make it a point to tell everyone and spread the word how bad they are. So far I know at least 8 people that had plans of buying from there, once I showed them the type of furniture they sold us and all the emails, phone call I had to make trying to get it fixed. They walked away from the store in Green Brook NJ and bought from Michael Anthony Furniture and All Brands Furniture in Green Brook (right across the street from them).
All Brands service and pricing were amazing. Myself I ordered a couch from there and it came in a week ahead of time. Give them a try and forget about Value City, definitely not worth the value. The 160 is robbery for a 200$ item however will your delivery men not put care into my 5000k purchase that may take 2hrs to set up? Ordered a sectional couch, dining room set, and bedroom set on DEC 16. The earliest day it could be delivered was Jan 10. On Jan 9, I was called and told that the bedroom set wouldn't be shipped until Feb 4 and the other items would still come the next day. When they were delivered to my house, the guys didn't take off their shoes and tracked mud through a few rooms. I have a sidewalk all the way from the driveway to the front door, so they either walked through the yard or had it on their shoes before getting to my house.
Skip ahead to today Feb 3. I received the automatic call that my bedroom set would be delivered tomorrow, and I never got to choose the time so it said between 11:30 and 2:30. Both of us work, so I called the store and asked about a later time. They told me that they cannot change the time because they use a third party delivery service. "Anybody over the age of 18 can accept the delivery, does that help?" No... we are the only 2 that live here. Then I was told that the only days they deliver to my neighborhood are Tuesday and Thursday. There is literally NO OPTION that works for us and they were unwilling to help. The first delivery was fine because we had just moved in and my girlfriend took the time off work already. I was put on hold, then while on hold the call disconnected. In the end, she called off work, losing hours and money, so they could deliver the set. Next time I'll just rent a U-Haul and pick it up. It would be cheaper and less of a headache.

They purchased the protection plan for about $400. It didn’t cover the “peeling” although they had a tailor friend look at the sofa & determined it was defective. Apparently they did not use enough fabric to the point it was pulled too tight. Requested a review from Value City. They still rejected the claim. So essentially my folks paid close to $3000 for a sofa that didn’t last 1 year. They are retired & on fixed budget as are most folks...they just wanted this replaced, not refunded. Value City is trying to promote themselves as a more upscale store now....NOT TRUE. I will NEVER purchase an item from this store & will warn everyone I know NOT to patronize. No customer service.

Don't waste your money by purchasing through them. We bought a couch November 2019 and within a month one of the recliners broke. We contacted the store multiple times to get this fixed and nothing. Over the next few months the other 2 recliners broke. I had to file a BBB claim on them just to get a response. Joy ** (Resolution Supervisor) currently is the one responding to the claim. She is horrible and doesn't re-read what she states from one message to another.
At this point the warranty is refusing to fix it because they didn't fix it and she is now claiming it isn't them because the couch is over a year old and they won't get involved with the company that they sell the warranty for. I will NEVER purchase furniture from them again and would advise anyone I know not to purchase from them either. It is ridiculous that we spent close to $3,000 for a sectional that in the first year none of the recliners work and then have to deal with a company who could care less.

I have been a Value City customer for over 5 years now. I had a credit line with them and I have furnished my home with their furniture over and over. I will never ever buy again from Value City Furniture, and I will always suggest to people to never purchase from this cheap quality, horrible customer service, overpriced company. I got into credit card debt with this company but that is not the issue now. There wouldn't be an issue if I were to have continued to be satisfied. But the problem is that when I started having problems with my furniture pieces, they did not care bout it at all. I contacted the store and the additional warranty I purchased to try and get a table, a mattress, and my couches replaced. They were still under warranty. They told me they would not be able to cover none of these items due to them not meeting the criteria.
My couch was very very sharp metal pieces disassembling from the back of the sofa and sticking out. When I moved the couches, the sharp pieces have scratched my walls, my children could literally poke an eye out. I had to put tape over those spots. One of the legs does not fit. My dining table was not sealed correctly, the paint is coming off. My mattress I understood because it had a stain. I let these things go regardless.
I purchased a trundle day bed near the end of 2019. The beginning of 2020 I made a warranty claim because the wood started splitting, it completely broke off from the sides, so I wanted it replaced or a refund. I strongly believe it was a manufacturer defect or poor quality. On June 26th an inspector came out, took some pictures and when I heard back they denied it because they literally blamed my kids for jumping on the bed and breaking it "or something". Where do they get off accusing us of something like this. My kids sleep on their bed, they never jump. And why were the sides splitting and broken but not the boards where the mattress goes?
I tried to get in touch with them to discuss the issue and show evidence and they NEVER contacted me back. I tried for months - calling and emailing. The bed was brand new, my kids did not jump on the bed. The supporting evidence does not match. I spent over $1,000, and we had to disassemble the bed and it's currently stored in the basement because it's completely unusable. We used it for a couple months.
This is how I got in debt with Value City, which I did not mind paying off their over priced stuff. But after they did this to me I am so angry I will make sure to write a review on every platform I have access to and not recommend them to anyone I know. What is even the point of warranty or extended warranty you purchase if they are going to pull stuff like this?! NEVER BUY HERE, YOU CAN FIND BETTER QUALITY FOR A CHEAPER PRICE!

I bought a power recliner sofa and love seat (Monza) along with some other furniture from VCF falling for their quality assurance. I could have got the similar products elsewhere at much cheaper price but I paid extra hoping that it will last long and VCF will provide good services. But it's not even 2 years of light use and leather started to thin and started to tear at places. Pretty poor quality. I was sold 5-year protection plan saying that anything happens, "We will either fix it or replace it, no worries." But when I filed the claim about the defective leather (thinning & ripping apart), they rejected my claim saying that normal wear/tear is not covered in the warranty. This is totally unacceptable. Not only they charge extra for the products but also fool you by selling the so called "protection plan" which covers everything at the time of purchase but covers nothing when you actually file the claim.
I made multiple attempts to post review on their website but they will not allow it. That's the reason you only see good reviews on their website because they do not allow negative reviews to be posted. After several months of posting a review on Google, they came back to me to say that Monza sectional will undergo issues I am facing, that is normal. So basically they admitted that they are building inferior quality products and they expect it fall apart within a couple of years of normal usage. And of course their warranty doesn't cover anything. I will never buy anything from them again. You be careful and buy at your own risk.

Hello my name is Andrew Smith. I have been through the ringer with value city furniture over the last 6 months. I have tried working with the customer service reps in stores and over the phone. None of them are willing to help me and tonight My request was completely ignored. I found this email online and figured it is my last resort to get some help. Here is what the last 6 months have looked like for us.
We ordered a couch back in June from value city furniture the couch was scheduled do be delivered middle of July. The couch then had to be pushed back to beginning of August (COVID... understandable). In August only 2 of the 3 pieces were sent to the house because the third was not ready. The third was set to deliver middle of September. The couch was discontinued at the beginning of September so we had to pick out a new couch. We picked a new couch out and it was set to be delivered at the end of October. We specifically asked that when they deliver the new couch they pick up the old couch. Unfortunately this request was ignored. It was not scheduled to be picked up the same day as the new delivery. I called and asked why this happened and the reason I was given was “computer error”. I was then told that they will come November 5th to pick Up the first couch.
Today November 4th I had yet to receive communication about when they would be coming. So I called to ask. After going back and forth with different customer service people an answer was not given. The customer service person said. Can I call you back in a few minutes with an answer. 3 hours had passed and no call. I called the store back myself and the person I spoke with said she could not help me. She did not know what the nature of the conversation with the precious person was. She read from the notes that said they would take a look at it in the morning.
I have already taken off work two times for the previous couch deliveries and I have now take off work a third time (tomorrow) to have a couch picked up. I am sure you can see where my frustration lies if I take off work tomorrow just for them To not show up. I have just bought a new home that will need all new furniture over the next year. I would estimate around 20000 dollars worth. I want to keep using VCF But I cannot do that with this bad customer service.

My husband and I purchased a sectional from Value City Furniture in July. We ended up purchasing a left facing sectional and wanted to exchange it for the right facing sectional. They told us they could deliver it end of September (22nd - I believe it was). They reached out to us & we called them to confirm the due date with no issues. Five days before the delivery date they called to tell us that they would have to delay the order until end of December. They waited two months to tell us the sectional was out of stock. I delayed buying other furniture because of this and would have not even considered waiting that long if they had told me the day I purchased it that it was out of stock.
I went to the store and asked to cancel my order and since I had already made a couple of payments on my account I was told I would receive a check for those payments made. Well they did not process my refund until 10/5 when I called them. The representative I spoke literally said "oh we forgot to process it through on our end". In the meantime I was charged a late fee because they failed to process my refund on time. Almost, two months later I have still not received my refund check for the payments I made and was now told I need to call their credit card company and ask for the money back and for them to take off the late charge.
Their customer service is beyond ridiculous and they absolutely show no empathy for all the trouble and wasted time that I have had to deal with. I was told by a few friends/family not to buy from them because the quality of the furniture is horrible and I decided not to listen to them. Biggest mistake ever! A week before the originally scheduled delivery date we were given a notice that both the table and sectional were being pushed back for delivery. The table was being pushed back by a month and the sectional by two months due to warehouse shortage. I want to say that I fully understand that shortages can happen, but why would there be an agreement for furniture being “in stock” at the time of purchase and then that agreement not be fulfilled? I paid in full for these things. My table and only 4 chairs were delivered today.
When we called about the fifth chair we purchased, the associate states that the warehouse didn’t have it and we will have to wait another month for that to show up. WHAT?!? On top of this, I had to called them about the shortage and not the other way around. I purchased a sectional 11/2019 and scheduled delivery. I was notified it was ready for pick-up (not delivery) - first mistake. I finally negotiated a delivery. It was delivery with wrong pieces and wrong color. We had to drive 25 miles to store and show salesperson the correct color and pieces and wait another 2 weeks for delivery. I also purchased furniture protection plan. I regularly turn cushions to maintain shape. Around 9 months I turn cushions and all along the edge of frame of the entire sectional are metal tabs protruding which correspond with 5 holes in each of my cushions. I took the cushions, a video and my receipt to the Kennesaw, GA store. The employees appeared shocked and indicated they had never seen anything like this. I was informed that a tech would have to come to my home to inspect the defect.
A tech arrived 2-3 days later, indicated he had been in the furniture repair business over 20 years and it was indeed a manufacturer's defect and not anything I had contributed to. I spoke to Carla at the store who told me I could look for replacement furniture but store policy would not allow a refund. The day I took the video and cushion in I spent over an hour looking for additional furniture, as the furniture I previously selected is no longer available. I originally went to the store with measurements of what my room could accommodate and currently nothing similar is available. I was still informed no refund.
I called corporate and stayed on hold for one hour and 45 minutes with Rakia. While very pleasant, I was again informed, everything was review, and although it was indeed a manufacturer's defect, unless the defect was discovered within 7 days, a refund would not be forthcoming and I would need to select something from the store. I explained, the store had nothing similar to my current sectional or liking.
The final conclusion: I have a store technician indicating a manufacturer's defect, no contribution on my part - however I could not foresee this defect (under the cushion, hidden under the lining and around the frame work) within the first seven days so I will not be issued a refund, and I will need to pick something I do not like, that is the wrong size, color and material and just get over it. While everyone told me to eat crow with a pleasant voice and smile, the only reasonable person was the technician who came to my home. Value City does not want customer satisfaction, just to retain the money already taken from customers. Please don't forget I originally had the wrong furniture and wrong color delivery as well. Why should I be forced to try again???

I finally get a manager on the phone at 10:13 that showed no compassion and not a care in the world then has the nerve to ask me “So you’re looking for more compensation”. Then she states it would be September 11, 2020 the day of my surgery that my sectional would be in.
Before I knew it & before I could stop myself.... Well you know things went all the way left!! So left that right was never even invented!!?? The manager JESSICA stated that she would meet with her team to figure out how they can "compensate" me. It has now e over 2 hours and I have yet to hear back from anyone. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS!!!! THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND PRACTICE NO MORALS OR ETHICS!!!!

Bought 1st King Size mattress. After little over year bed sink in middle. They honored that. Upgraded to not issue again at 1600. After a month my wife's back began acting up (spine issue). Called to complain. Thought would be easy solution since no damage to bed. They sent salesman and initially said we had no cover which voided warranty. False. We had same cover from previous mattress. Bed sinks in middle and is awful. We insisted they come back out. 3 weeks later we just found out they determined mattress not defective. How can you accurately determine when you do not lay in middle of bed. It's foam so it will move back into place after pressure is released. This mattress is breaking my wife's back further. I will never do business with them again.

This year, my wife decided to buy sofa set from there which I didn't really like because of previous experience. The salesperson confirm item available for pick-up. 2 days before pick-up we get a call one is not available. We agree to terms they will deliver the last piece free.
I rent a truck to go pick up on the day schedule on the receipt and of which they told us by mouth at the branch was good to pick up. I went and the other items not available. No call from customer service or anyone. They LIED. Just tell us you have given the item to someone else and don't use Covid as an excuse. You confirm item at pickup location so where did it disappear to?? Wasted money renting a truck for nothing. I went to the branch to confront them and heard them all laughing on my way out. Value City reviewed what I wrote and posted it on the same day without even thinking of trying to solve or be considerate to even try and they me that my review CONGRATULATED me that it has been posted. This shows me how much they really don't care about their customers.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought all my apartment's furniture from Value City and I'm soooo disappointment and frustrated with my leather living room set (Sofa, Chair and Love Seat) which I also bought with them the 5 year protection plan. At the beginning I didn't want the leather material. Been afraid that it will peel but the salesperson assured me that it will not peel if I constantly apply the polish liquid that came with it, which I did. From the 2nd year I noticed the stitches starting to loosen, they are not comfortable anymore, and not long time ago the leather started to peel and getting worse. It's so embarrassing when I have guest over. I filed a claim but it was denied. I was hoping that they would consider at least to fix them. Sadly, I will not consider to buy again from Value City although I like their styles very much.

I had no idea how or when this had happened. So I submitted a claim through Pure Promise Warranty and they responded with my claim is not covered. I'm sorry, but it clearly states in the list of coverage details that the structure failure such as "breaking or cracking of frame" is covered. I tried to make a second claim. It was also denied. I purchased a 3-piece sectional with chaise and 3ft by 3ft ottoman.. I was in love with it for the first few months until the matching pillows began to rip. Then a few months later about year and 9 months into the ordeal my fabric support that holds up the actual sitting place ripped as well. So I've got a one-foot rip along the end where the arm is and it is beginning to Sag in that area after Not even 2 years of owning This $1,200 piece of equipment. Also, I paid an extra $200 for the pure promise warranty that was allegedly going to keep me insured so to speak for any kind of damage on any of the furniture no matter even if there was someone that came in and cut it with a butcher knife and shredded it to shreds as the salesperson told me. It would be covered..
So I made my claim to get this fixed. And... it is not covered under the suspicion that it is normal wear and tear. Normal, wear and tear? Isn't that why you buy a warranty? So, when my overweight son sits on this couch and rips it. And the fabric does not hold up. And now I have a couch that is Irreplaceable on one end and the warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on? I will never ever buy from Value City Furniture again until they give me what is coming to me, which is a fixed couch or for someone to come in and fix it.. That is all I'm asking is for someone to come in and fix it. It is beyond my own knowledge to fix fabric that is ripped Especially when it's it's fabric that is kind of fabric that it is.. So thank you so much for screwing me on my $200 worth of the pure promise warranty that was supposed to cover anything no matter what.!

We called them to tell them to just wait and deliver all at once instead of 2 trips. Please note this phone call was a couple days after they told us it would be delivered on the 31st. This was when we found out it would not be delivered on the 31st now and would be delivered on January 28th. Could still get everything else we ordered on the 31st but once again would not get the sectional until January 28th.
All we got were multiple oh sorry about that and that there was nothing they could do because they sold more than they had thought and were not equipped for the amount of orders they had, but we were welcome to come in and pick something else out if we wanted, I said if I pick something else out it will be at a different store. So to sum things up, if you want to save a few bucks and wait months for your purchase you should shop here otherwise keep on trucking...As for me I will NOT be back and I'll make sure everyone I know doesn't shop there as well. And who's to say that when it gets closer to January 28th they won't delay it another month, hell we may never get our furniture...Oh and our first payment is due January 6th, so we will be paying for it before we ever get it, how sweet is that!!! My husband and I bought a Cordelle sofa and loveseat. It is big and deep which we need for my husband's bad back. We got it home and soon realized this was not going to work. There are two cushions for the bottom. The way it is made, you automatically roll to the center of the sofa or the loveseat. It doesn't matter who sits on it, as far as size. So this wasn't giving support at all. We placed calls to the sales manager, who was helpful (maybe that is why he is now gone?). We spoke to service and they eventually came out to see if there were damages, etc. None. The service tech said "this is the nature of the beast!" So he had to turn in his report.
We called for a follow up days later after hearing nothing. We kept calling. We kept getting a song and dance about how the overall STORE MANGER, Ayanda ** was the one that had to make the decision and she was always off or unavailable. Left several messages. We finally reached her... weeks later. She basically said, it was too late to do anything because it was past our 30 days. Well if people were more responsive it wouldn't have been. It wasn't past 30 days on our part. We just wanted to exchange the set for a set that had more bottom cushions for support. We said we'd pay the difference; We're not trying to RIP anyone off. Ayanda had made her decision without talking to us, just reading notes.
We called the Corporate Customer service line and we were basically told they documented our situation but no resolution. So we are left with a very uncomfortable sofa and loveseat. Looks good from a distance, seems affordable, but the quality is lacking. The customer service is NON-EXISTENT! Either go to a resale store or spend the money and go to Macy's. It was not delivered on time and as a result, I had to take three days off from work only to have them never show up or call. When the furniture did arrive, the two-piece couch was made of two different materials and two different colors. Needless to say, it looks ridiculous. That was almost a month ago. I have called and visited the store countless times with no results! I don't get the impression that anyone is interested in resolving this situation for me. Therefore, I would strongly recommend that you AVOID PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM VALUE CITY! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I just had 2 items delivered to my home. I was told when I purchased items the delivery men would assemble. When they arrived they said I was told wrong. Bobby smiled at me then started to assemble first item. His co-worker Shawn then came in and started to assemble second item. They were both glad to do it. It only took them 10 minutes. They had smiles on their faces and joked with me the entire time. Now that's what I call service!!! They went above and beyond for me especially since I had no tools and not good at things like that anyway. THEY ARE A VALUABLE ASSET TO YOUR COMPANY!! THANK YOU AGAIN SOOO MUCH BOBBY & SHAWN!!

Last summer I spent over 3k for a sofa, chair, coffee table, dining set and chairs. The coffee table the paint is rubbing away. It gets scratched easily. The wood feels soft. The dining table the top of the table scratches easily. The chairs are awesome though. No issues there. The couch and chair are the worst. The fabric is rubbing away, the arms are no longer even, they appear to be lumpy. Can’t get comfortable. Buy somewhere else.

I bought a couch on March/2019, 1 month afterwards, the couch's fabric started to get wrinkle and when you seat you feel that you start to sink. I called the assistance, a technician came to my house, he took some pictures of the couch and afterwards I receive a call that the issues that I have been dealing with is normal, and does not look like (from the pictures) any defect and they can not do anything about it. The technician did not seated in the couch to check if it was sinking and the wrinkle fabric is it normal? It is not a defect? I'm very unsatisfied with the assistance and I'll never buy again from VNC. They sell very bad quality furniture and there's no warranty at all.

I shopped for months for a dining room table. I decided to go with a 7 piece set from Value City. My husband rented Uhaul to avoid the very expensive delivery fee. When we got the table home it was broken in pieces. My husband tried to call to get a new table and to ask for free delivery since we already paid for the truck rental and the product was damaged. They would not help us at all. So now we have 7 days to return the set and get a refund. The company would rather lose an $800 sale than make their customers happy. We are going to take our business elsewhere and I will tell everyone I can to NEVER buy anything from them. I work in customer service and have never experienced such disregard. If I could give a zero rating I would!

I would give 0 stars if I could... Long story short, I am being penalized for having to use the extended warranty by paying to have it delivered because the warranty company wouldn't actually fix the problem. Nobody can help because "it's company policy" and I have to pay for delivery. It was "helpfully" explained that I signed the receipt that clearly stated this. A. That's not what I was told when I bought this warranty and B. It is NOT clear. I used to shop here all the time, and I will never do so again. It's $105. I feel confident that they can make this right, but just refuse to do so. It's a small enough amount that it actually just feels petty.
UPDATE: The team that responded to my original negative review and suggested I email them so that they could look into the issue further decided to do nothing to correct the issue by giving me a refund, but told me they were sorry I received incorrect information about the warranty but would uphold the store's decision NOT to give me my money back. They may as well have not bothered. DEFINITELY never shopping here again.

Went to purchase a sofa and chair from VCF in Mentor, OH. Salesman was earnest but unknowledgeable, eventually gave me a price quote. I came back three days later to the same salesman, only to be told (after 45 minutes) that he had given me the wrong price -- the actual price was nearly double! The store would not credit or discount my purchase despite the misinformation. I eventually purchased the set… The delivery, which was supposed to be 5-7 days, took nearly three weeks because of inflexible scheduling on the part of VCF (we are home two full afternoons each week, the company refused to commit to a delivery window when we would be home, kept rescheduling, no Saturday deliveries). Overall a time-consuming, expensive and less than satisfying experience. Would likely not purchase from this store again due to sub-par customer service (bordering on indifference) at all levels of the organization.

I am unable to understand why I do not get reimbursement for a delivery of a couch we still do not get to enjoy. I'm reasonably satisfied that we received a check for the couch itself, but we are still being charged 150 dollars for a "delivery fee" for a couch that had to be returned after 5 minutes of "attempted delivery." The CS person I spoke with, Aimee **, claimed it was company policy not to refund the delivery fee, as "delivery was attempted." Since then an online agent, Andrew, explained why it's "company policy," as someone who has worked in customer service many years and still currently has to attend the needs of clients at my law firm - I understand that customer service is everything in this business.
I have no solution for the third party delivery men, I can understand how that might be a charge VCF cannot reclaim. However, I made mention of our unusual doorway and instead of inquiring further as to the measurements of said doorway, our sales rep, "Nick" insisted that the delivery people have gotten many couches through any doorway "no problem" and we (my partner and I) were satisfied at his assurances.
Now we are at a point of no delivery refund and I was hoping someone could at least give us a partial if nothing else. As I've stated above, 150 dollars for 5 minutes of their time and efforts. I feel this is not justifiable. 150 dollars and we still have no couch from VCF. We really wanted that couch, would have enjoyed it thoroughly. This issue extended our need for furniture during a stressful move.
All we were asking was for at least a portion of that fee - if nothing else - back as money is tight enough whilst moving without complications such as these. Value City had been so highly recommended to us by family members. I'm going to make a presumption that going through a third party is some kind of money loophole for them; maybe they'd have to pay their own workers twice as much, I'm not sure. What I know for sure is that the delivery men spoke very little English and communicating with them was difficult even though I know a little Spanish myself. I suspect this is an issue of outsourcing which means highway robbery of this kind to unsuspecting customers. In the future we will be taking our business elsewhere, more customer friendly and not get shafted because of some 3rd party delivery nonsense.

I spoke with the salesman, making it clear, repeatedly, that the only way I would make the $3,000 purchase would be if he could absolutely GUARANTEE that the furniture would be available on the pick-up date, as it would cost me $100 for the truck rental. I would have to have a friend come to help, and the drive was 2 hours (round-trip) to pick it up. Additionally, that weekend I was having a party, and needed the furniture for the party. I was assured multiple times that it would absolutely be available. No question.
I then called the number to make the payment. I, again, asked the person if they were involved in scheduling and delivery in any way, and she informed me that she was the one who actually did the scheduling. So I informed her, again, that this purchase was 100% contingent on the furniture being available AT the pick-up time ON the pick-up date, and that if it was not 100% assured, I did not wish to make the purchase. She assured me that it was. At least one of these calls was recorded, so Value City has no excuse. They can easily check the calls.
When the day arrived, I had a friend stay the evening as he lived 2 hours away, and was going to help me drive the large truck to pick it up. We get up early in the morning, and drive to rent the truck. We then make the drive to pick up the furniture. When we arrive, we're told, "Oh, yeah, that order... Yeah, we were 'gonna call you'." GONNA call me? You KNEW the furniture wasn't being delivered and NOBODY NOTIFIED ME? When it was repeatedly made clear that the sale was CONTINGENT upon the furniture being where it was promised to be, when it was promised?
Finally speaking to a manager, he shows me the computer screen to point out how "someone changed the date" as if that's in any way, shape, or form helpful. The "best he can do" is have it delivered "some time next week". After leaving, I called to cancel the order, and the "best" the manager I spoke to "could do" was to knock $100 off the $3K purchase. Still wouldn't get the furniture till "some time next week". He was now even suggesting I'd still have to coordinate pick-up myself. I told him he'd have to do better than that, and he said, he "couldn't." I told him I would be leaving reviews of my experience, and his response was, "That's fine." He literally didn't care.
Never mind that the house party would now involve friends and family sitting to watch movies on lawn chairs, and the fact that that 2 hours of our weekend was shot, and my buddy drove 4 hours round-trip for no reason, etc. Never mind that if there was even a CHANCE that they wouldn't follow through with their GUARANTEE, that I would've used a more reliable competitor (and will absolutely do so from now on).
What good is a company's "Guarantee" if there are absolutely ZERO repercussions for failing to follow through on that "Guarantee?" I literally only chose them because they promised that it 100% WOULD be available for pick-up on the date and time we agreed on. They failed to follow through, and as a result, my guests were uncomfortable, I was out $100, and my friend and I were out the time. And all Value City's "out" is that they were mildly inconvenienced by losing a sale. AND THEY DIDN'T CARE. I will never, ever purchase anything from Value City again, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this experience.

I am very disappointed and upset in regards to your so called “5 star delivery”, where you assure first that the arrival time is precise, when I have tried to get my items delivered for more than two weeks now. When I made the purchase I made specifically clear that I will need either a weekend delivery, an early delivery (before 10 am at least) or a late delivery (after 5 due to my sons school and work schedule). When I was contacted the first time from the delivery department, they told me the earliest they could deliver to my “area” was 10:30 am and that they might not get here until 12 noon. They said weekends were not available on my area either as well as late deliveries.
They accommodate their schedule to their convenience not the clients convenience, even though this type of purchases are worth thousands of dollars. Nevertheless, I had to reschedule the first time, because it was during the week in the middle of the day. Since there was not other options for me, I agreed to take half day off from work and wait on them the second time. For the second time, they told me that this time they can be at 11 a.m and that 11 am was the earliest they could, due to some other deliveries they were doing in the area. I personally don’t believe this is a 5 star process because with the purchase price, I also paid $150 for delivery, and for that amount it should not matter whether they have more deliveries in my area or not, plus I am 20 minutes from the store!
I accepted, even though I disagreed with the time and told them to make sure they were precise with the time, because I had an appointment scheduled at 1:30 pm. They told me the delivery was going to be here at 11 am, however on that day, none showed up at the expected time, so I called and asked, and the gentleman who always answers the phone (703-998-8667) told me they were going to be here closer to 1 pm.
Again, another inconvenience to me, as I specifically asked to be delivered early due to my appointment. As I shared my dissatisfaction and complain, this gentleman put me on hold with no explanation for 20 minutes, then hang up the phone and never answered any of my subsequent calls. What kind of customer service is that? This action was extremely disrespectful and unacceptable.
Finally, when the delivery guys came at 1:07 pm I told them to go back as I had to get going for my appointment, however they told me that the assembly will only take 30 minutes and asked me to wait. They were very nice and professional so I agreed. When finished, and everything was unpacked, they told me they were sorry but that some parts of the sofa were missing along with a pillow, so they will have to pack the sofa again and take it back. At this point, I am already late for my appointment and yet, my furniture was not ready!! They told me I will have to schedule another delivery. Not only I had to be late for my appointment but I also had to cancel my house warming reunion this upcoming weekend, because I don’t have my sofa.
This has been the worse purchase delivery I have ever had. Never had experienced such a low customer service, especially on a high end company, as well as such an unprofessional, inconsiderate, and disrespectful treatment over the phone with a representative. If I had not invested so much money and time in this process, I would have canceled the whole order and get everything at another store. I am still waiting to be contacted and get my sofa delivered.

I finally was able to get ahold of someone and they had a tech come. A report was made, pictures taken and told replacements would come. After a week of waiting I finally called to see the status of my order and was told that the tech had quit and nothing was handled. Several people have been handling this, but not actually handling anything correctly. Finally contacted corporate, but dealt with a nasty lady.
After a few weeks someone finally contacted me from the store to tell me that they only had half of my stuff to be replaced. Finally after no explanation of what accumulation and a refusal to see what pictures were submitted, the manufacturer referred me to the company for the protection plan I purchased. The protection plan also denied my claim due to the fact the manufacturer was not covering the claim.

I purchased a sofa bed from Value City Furniture in Green Brook, NJ. The bed is approx 1' shorter on either side as the sofa itself. This has created a 'void' where there's no bed below either end of the sofa. When you sit you feel the frame of the bed and the cushions sink into the 'void'. I've had the service department out and they are at a loss for how to repair this. I've gone back and forth with the service department about this and their answer is to send me new cushions. This will not fix the problem. The store will not return the sofa due to the fact that I had custom fabric put on it. If I was told in the beginning that this would be a problem I would've never purchased this particular sofa. Now I'm out $2000.

I recently purchased some furniture from Value City Furniture, and the delivery people were over 45 minutes late on the day of delivery. They tried to shove a huge couch through my hallway and staircase. Scratching off my hardwood stairs and the walls. Forcibly trying to make it fit. The woman in the group told me all about her female problems. It was all a horrible experience. When I contacted the manager of the store, He told me to get an estimate for the repairs and it would be taken care of.
The next day I got an estimate and waited. The claims department called me and said that it would be handled in 72 hours. I waited for days and no one contacted me. When I called them they did not return my phone calls. I contacted the store manager again. He then had them call me. They asked me to bring them another estimate to compare. So I got another estimate, and it’s been eight days and I haven’t heard a thing. I’m at my wits end with all the damage done to my beautiful home and my brand new floors and paint job. I will be contacting my attorney soon. I don’t know why they would hire such delivery people that are so incompetent. I will never do business with Value City Furniture again!! Horrible purchase experience. Actually I've filed a complaint about this purchase before and after realizing this transaction and the warranty purchase was a scheme I more or less decided to cut my losses. However this morning I'm reminded of my disgust because the loose sofa bed frame is now weakening the entire sofa's frame.

I ordered a reclining couch and chair on March 11, 2019. I paid in full online. The first delivery date when ordering was March 28th. The next day I checked on my order and it changed the delivery date to April 3rd. A week before delivery I received an email asking how I was enjoying my furniture. I called the store to make sure they didn't deliver my furniture elsewhere, and they giggled it off and said they were not sure why I got that email, and that my delivery was set for April 3rd. April 2nd, I received a call from Value City stating that I would be getting my delivery between 10am-1pm. At 2:22pm they called me back stating that they didn't have my furniture, and they weren't able to deliver. I checked online and my order stated that the order was ready for delivery. I contacted the corporate office, since I was told that my furniture would be delivered and I did throw my couch out that night for trash pickup the next day.
They said it was human error, and that there wasn't anything they could do but offer me 10% off. I told them I have a family of 5, and I don't have any furniture and they were just so rude, and unempathetic about it. I spoke with three different people and all of them did nothing about this. Like I told them, they don't care since they already were paid for the furniture. I told the last person I spoke with that I was going to contact the BBB about how they are conducting business and he told me, it doesn't matter, I'm the one who responds to those complaints anyways. I will never ever buy furniture from Value City Furniture again. I have waited almost a full month, and they still can't seem to deliver on customer service, or when it comes to organizing a simple couch delivery.

I am paying good money for the furniture and delivery and it is very disappointing to say the least to have to wait such a long time to get a brand new piece of furniture fixed. I work in the service industry fixing machines and if we install one which ends up having an issue we come out the next day or two to fix the problem. I just recently purchased some furniture items from Value City to be delivered to my home as I have done several times in the past. Which I have had pleasant experiences each and every time. Which is the reason that I have remained a loyal customer over the years. However, my recent experience, was a horrible one. I should caution you, this story is going to be a long one!
On the day of my delivery, there were 2 gentleman who came out and delivered and set up my furniture. They seemed to be professional and performed their job with ease. When the job was complete, the 2 gave me the electronic pad to sign my signature as well as the website to rate my experience. As the 2 left, I noticed that 1 of the workers had accidentally left his tools at my home. So I stayed at my home for about 20-30 mins after, with the intention that they would return to retrieve the left items. When that did not happen, I gathered the workers' tools and placed them in my car to personally return them to the Value City store location in which the furniture came from. I had also made a call to the furniture store and explained to a customer service agent that I would be returning some tools to the store today after a worker had left them behind.
The agent asked for my address and told me that this would be ok. Well about 45 mins. later when I was already back at my job, I had noticed that I had received 2 missed phone calls and a voicemail message from the delivery worker **, stating that he had left his tools and asked if he could return back to my home to grab them. After hearing the message, ** had called yet again for the 3rd time. I Answered the call and had then explained to the young man that I had already returned back to work and had informed him that I had his items and that I would personally return the items to the store myself out of convenience.
Well that must not have been good enough because he then states in a sarcastic manner, "OK, you are back at work and I am right by your house." I then told ** that I understand that he had left his tools at my home due to his negligence however, I also, have a job to do and that I had to return back to work. He then tells me again sarcastically, "Well those are my tools and I need them in order to do my job"! Although his sarcasm seemed rude and extremely unprofessional, I again proceeded to tell him, yet again, that I will drop off his tools to the store after the time I get off work at 4:30 pm.
So after around 5:30 pm, I started to receive calls from the delivery driver and his wife repeatedly. The 2 even sent text messages demanding their tools. Then to make matters worse, the store Delivery Manager **, had also called my phone several times and also left a text message as well requesting the tools and stressing in the text the importance of the tools. These calls lasted up until around 6:45 pm or so. I at this point, had had enough! I then called Mr. ** wife (since she was the last person to call and made a request to come to my home to grab the tools) and explained to her that I have received every missed call from both herself and her husband as well as the delivery manager.
I explained to her that I was unable to answer the calls due to being in business meetings at the moment. I then told the wife that all these calls were unnecessary and highly inappropriate and that I had already told her husband that I would personally drop off his tools at the store. She then apologized and the call was ended. I finally went to the Value City Furniture store at the 5450 E. 82nd St. Indianapolis, IN. 46250 location which is the location of the delivery where the furniture came from as well as the delivery drivers employment location. Once inside the store, I politely asked the customer service agent if I could please speak with a store a manager about being harassed about the workers left tools at my home and how I felt disturbed by all of the calls and texted messages.
The customer service agent apologized for my experience and had informed me that there was no one that I could speak with regarding my experience. At that point I had dropped off the workers' tools and quietly left the store. I also noticed that there were several other employees there and 2 that were inside of 1 of the offices. Out of all the employees there, no one did anything at all. This experience was 1 of the very WORSE experiences in my entire life that I encountered with customer service. And all over left tools due to the delivery driver's negligence.
I felt harassed and bombarded about a mistake that the worker made and somehow I was made to pay for it by the rude and unprofessional behavior from the delivery manager and the workers involved. This was truly unfair and I should not have been treated this way at all. Which is truly sad because I have been a faithful customer to Value City Furniture store for more over 15 years now. And sadly to say, I will not be returning back.

I have been purchasing furniture from Value City for over 20 years and the quality of furniture and managers have diminished. Approximately 5 months ago I purchased my granddaughter a bedroom set, dinette set along with sofa and lamp. Well, after a month the chairs continued to become loose and my husband would tighten, well I thought it was because delivery persons had not tighten properly. After tighten again and again we called and they sent a tech to check them and he tighten but stated "These chairs are no good and will report so they can replace."
Well after a couple of days and I did not hear from the store. My granddaughter and I went to the store and our salesman help us pick out another dinette set which cost a little more and seem a little better constructed. Well, after 3 weeks they delivered the wrong table (which was high and chairs were low). Instead of leaving the old set they left the set that you can't sit down and eat a meal because your chin meets the table. During the same time they sent a tech to fix the bed which was loose and he stated "The delivery person that put it together put it together incorrectly and not tight enough".
Well after calling the store the manager said she could not do anything until the delivery truck returned and she checked, well I could not understand that because at least they could bring back the old table and deliver the correct item. She then asked us to measure the table to see if we received the wrong table or wrong chairs. Well no measurement was needed. The table was not a normal high. Anyone with sense could see that without measurements. She then stated she would call back once the truck arrived back at the store. I then wanted to talk to another manager and she stated he would not be back in the store until next Monday which was 6 days later. I was really upset then and simply hung up.
After a couple of hours another supervisor called me back and remember there was no more supervisors there until Monday. He stated it was the wrong table in the box and he could have it delivered by the following Wednesday (6 days with nonfunctional dinette set) and that was the best he could do. When I asked him what about the fact that we had been inconvenienced and will continue to be for the next 6 days. He said "Oh we will credit your account $75.00." Well, we make more than 75.00 in a day and will have to take off again. He then stated, "That is all we can do!"
Well, the next day I called the 1 855 number to ask where could I make a complaint about everything I'm been through and after waiting approximately 15 minutes and the nice lady really trying to help me ended up transferring me your store Leesburg Va location which was the store we purchased from and talking to the same so called managers and them telling me, "Well ma'am you are not letting me get a word in. I am telling you I can not override the other manager giving you the $75.00 credit."
Well, he never listened to me. It's not about the $75.00 dollars but the inconvenience and being talked to any kind of way by two managers at the store over the phone. They are making it about the money, nothing in life is free and I am not asking for free, just quality furniture and quality service which I did not receive. In closing, I will NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE FROM YOUR COMPANY!!!! I was the type of customer that could have done a commerical for your company. Very dissatified. No stars.

Zero stars. 000000. Last year I bought a 3pc set from Value City Furniture. Dual reclining 3 seat couch, dual reclining love seat and a rocking recliner. To say the least it’s a piece of crap. The back of each of my cushions on the couch and love seat is ripped and the cushions are exposed, the footrest don’t come out when we pull the lever on the love seat, and the middle cushion on my couch is buckled in the springs are popped so no one can sit in that spot and it’s a very bad eye sore in my living room. Not to mention the wood on the backrest is very wobbly and I think it’s broke. I don’t have much but I don’t want crap for furniture. I called Value City and they said to make a claim through the pure promise since I paid for it when I bought the set. So I did.
I apparently checked off the wrong things that was wrong so they denied my claim right off the back so I did another claim and made sure I did everything right. The guy came out within 7 days and when he did he said the footrest is missing the part to pull it open. And the set would cost more to fix than to just give me another set. So I asked him does he know if the warranty would cover it and the man specifically told me yes it would. He tells me I should hear something in 7-10 days. I waited 20 days and called them. They said my claim is denied because my couch fraying is caused over time. For one the fraying they are talking about is ripped and because of that one thing my claim is denied.
So the wood breaking happened at one time and the footrest happened at one time and the springs popped happened at one time and nothing will get fixed because they say the exposed cushions happened over time. This don’t make sense to me because they will cover if I stab up my couch and they will cover if I drop a glob of ink on it but they won’t cover damage that is caused by their workmanship. The guy who came to my house told me that the dust cover they put on the bottom of couches to keep dust out is the same exact material they used on the back of my cushions to hold them in. So in reality it was a disaster waiting to happen when I bought them. They make cheap furniture and don’t want to fix them.
Honestly I really believe they don’t want to help me because they don’t want to give me a new set like the guy said they need to. So it’s just easier to deny my whole claim. I am fighting this to the end even if it leaves me nowhere because this isn’t right for them to deny my claim for one thing when there is 4 things wrong... I would not recommend buying into this pure promise warranty. The store warranty covers more than they do and the store warranty comes with the purchase. I paid 280.00 for absolute nothing. I wish I would have seen all these reviews before I got the pure promise because I would have never wasted my money. I am gonna try and fight for these ** until I get some sort of resolution.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have filed two separate claims about my sectional. The first claim was denied stating that manufacturer defect isn't covered in my warranty, but it is. I have copied and pasted the policy that states it is covered. When I called the warranty service center, a representative told me to resubmit my claim and mention frame damage as I am also having those issues. She also said seam separation was covered, which is also listed in the below policy. That claim was denied because the tech said it was pet damage, which is crazy considering I don't have a dog or pet. The tech also said that they would need to put a new cushion on because a zipper broke and it is fraying the back cushion. However, that isn't going to happen and he didn't fix anything.
He removed three nails/ staples sticking out of the sectional that have been cutting my children and I, then took pictures and left. He also said the tear in a seam was there when I purchased the sectional because it is where they notch the arm. Why would I ever purchase furniture if I knew there was already a tear in it?! The tech made up garbage to me and then went back and made up more garbage about a pet that doesn't exist. I have seen the 288 negative reviews on this company and the scams that are taking place with people's hard earned money. This company cons people into buying warranties and then denies the claims with garbage and made up reasons. The entire sectional is falling apart all over. I am sending this entire issue and correspondence to the FTC and BBB immediately. I used the exact language in the policy and they still denied my claims. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

The delivery drivers threatened to leave after 2 minutes of my fiancé not being here. When they arrived, they were throwing things on the floor and rushing around. We had to call customer care and they sent a tech out the next day. He was very kind & hooked everything up correctly, but had to bring plugs with him because for whatever reason they were not provided.
At this point, we noticed how much that recliner did not look like the others. It was USED! It’s saggy and the stuffing is coming out of the sides. We call customer care again and they schedule a delivery for November 16th. The piece they brought on November 16th was WRONG. It was not power. Back to customer care we go, an associate was to “personally oversee” the delivery process. We agreed to have the piece delivered on Saturday, 12/1 so that we didn’t have to take off work (again). We never received a call for the delivery and spent 36 minutes on the phone with customer care. They did not have the delivery or the piece and now they can’t deliver it until 12/8. One of the managers was great in providing an amicable resolution and I've got my ottoman delivered as well. Thanks Holly! That's how you put your customers coming back.

It's hard to find the words to describe my displeasure with the Cheektowaga VCF location. I picked a sectional and asked the sales rep (Judy) that I was working with if the sectional and ottoman I was looking to buy would be available in the near future. She checked her tablet and let me know that both pieces are available for delivery on the upcoming Tuesday. I signed up for their credit card to pay for my purchases and asked her to confirm delivery before she submitted my request, she stated everything will be delivered on Tuesday as discussed.
Judy then processed the payment and once it went through stated Tuesday isn't available but the following Thursday is - ok no big deal. She then stated that the couch will be delivered on Thursday but the ottoman isn't going to be available until December. I'm sorry, WHAT? You couldn't tell me this information when I asked you about it twice before submitting the purchase? She went on to state that I would not incur an extra delivery fee for the separate delivery. If that is Value City's way of rectifying the situation then you need to train your reps better. It seems as if they would do anything to make a sale happen regardless of customer aggravation. Thanks for helping me make up my mind of staying away from this company for any future purchases.

Overall I’m so highly disappointed in my overall experience ever with a store. I purchased a couch from them less than a year ago. It started with delivery. I paid in full at the store and the delivery didn’t happen for OVER A MONTH. They couldn’t redirect the routes to help in assisting with my work schedule. So they kept cancelling and rescheduling on me. It happened at least three times. Next going to the store talking with a representative in customer service was below average but still It accomplished putting in a request to evaluate my couch under its warranty.
So lastly just this week, I called customer service again to reschedule an appt but we needed to have a shorter time frame because each day I do have work and school. She tells me they can’t do that. You can only schedule a day. This means on the day of the appt they can come anytime from start of business to close. A timeframe of 8am-5pm. How is that going to work for ANYONE? I live alone so it’s only myself so I can’t waste away a day waiting around for them to come look at It. The couch needs an evaluation because less than a year it’s already so indented you can visually see the dip in and It makes It so uncomfortable. No couch should have this drastic of an indentation from normal use. I’m so pissed and disappointed. I would NEVER recommend this store to anyone. If I couldn’t give it any stars at all I would.

Worst furniture/customer service ever received. Bought a kitchen table and it cracked within the first 60 days. Didn't add insurance b/c we only use the table for meals. Their delivery team didn't even bring the proper tools to install the table. My husband had to do it once he got home from work. And they were questioning me on how much I paid & if I felt like I got a good deal. Also bought a sectional with the extended warranty. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! When originally delivered, a piece of furniture was defective. They find any excuse to try & get out of honoring the warranty. Plus, you have to contact them several times to get them to simply do as they advertise. When they finally sent someone out, their tech was very rude & disrespectful. With all the misinformation, quality of their products, disrespectful employees DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY WITH VALUE CITY FURNITURE!

I purchased a living room set 11 months ago. The stitching is coming out of the cushions already. The chat on the website is a joke. I asked them what I should do and they said, "Call your store," then disconnected the session. They could've at least given me the number. They said they come to my town on Tuesdays but can get here for 2 weeks. They better make this right. If I have to have someone else fix it I will be in court with them.

My experience with Value City Furniture has been horrible. They canceled my first delivery date on the day it was due to be delivered. When they delivered my furniture, I was missing 2 pieces and had to actually fight with them to prove one piece was missing. On my THIRD delivery date, they delivered a coffee table with a HUGE CRACK covered with magic marker. Still waiting for them to replace the table, the replacement is scheduled a month out. I am missing work for these deliveries so I'm losing money. Every time I call them, I am placed on hold for 30 minutes at a time. Worst customer service ever, once you give them money, they don't care about what they deliver or how they treat the customer. Seriously, they sent me a table with a 5-inch crack covered with brown marker. NICE.

I have to say I am extremely frustrated with, and will never buy, anything from Value City Furniture again. Back in 2012 we bought a living room set. We paid extra for the extended warranty and were advised if we didn't file a claim against it, at the end of the warranty period, we could use the value paid towards another purchase. Fast forward to 2018... We went in today to buy new end tables. When we inquired how to use the value of the extended warranty we were told that the extended warranty issued back in 2012 no longer exists. It had been replaced by another program. Very deceitful. I will never buy from them again!!

I purchased a microfiber sofa sectional from the (Non)Value City on Route 40 in Baltimore Maryland. After being persuaded into purchasing the $350 Warranty, I figured I was covered. It should've been a Red Flag when my furniture was over 2 weeks Late from some "-problem in the warehouse..." - whatever that meant. So everything was ok for about 6 months. Afterwards I witness some seams coming loose on the sectional. Then one of the sofa legs comes completely OFF - from my initial inspection, it was cause by a 'rotten frame'. I immediately called the store location, and was referred to the warranty company. I called the warranty company who after 2 weeks sent a technician out for an inspection. The tech was late but eventually showed up. Took a 5 minute inspection and on his way out told me someone would reach out. The 'reach out' was a DENIAL OF WARRANTY.
They claimed the rotten frame was my fault, wth?!! I put in an Appeal - DENIED also. But this time the DENIAL took almost an Additional MONTH to get sent out. SO now I'm out a $2000 sectional with the Rotten Frame. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM NON-Value City ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES - it's like Throwing Money on a Campfire.

I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT PURE PROMISE and Value City has definitely lost my business because they chose scam artists to take customers' hard earned money only to tell them anything not to fix or replace items. I ONLY GAVE ONE STAR TO BE ABLE TO LEAVE A REVIEW!!!

We purchased a love seat and sofa from VCF. When it was delivered to us we were rushed to sign the form and were not given a chance to see if anything was wrong with it. Right away we noticed the backside of the sofa was not even intact and staples were falling off like crazy. We called in right away to try and switch it for something else but they gave us hell about it. They claimed that once you sign the form that's it no more returns. They would keep putting us on hold and transfer us from one person to another.
It took us a whole week to finally reach the store manager and settle it. We finally switched it for a sectional. But even when the sectional was delivered we were rushed yet again to sign the paper and the guys that delivered were rude AF. The following day I was trying to move it to clean under it and the screw that connected the two pieces together suddenly fell off. That was fixable but you can tell the delivery guy rushed so the job was half assed. So in case you're thinking about stepping foot inside that store, save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere! Poor service, poor quality, I'm surprised their stores are still running.

I would not recommend. After waiting 2 weeks for my furniture to arrive they no show. I call, and am told that the furniture is running late. I have meetings this afternoon, and need to return to work. I do not have time to greet the truck. To further compound this issue apparently they sent me a footboard instead of the nightstand that I ordered, and have been waiting two weeks for. The refund will take 5 biz days to process. Meanwhile: I don't have furniture. To say that I'm angry right now would be an understatement. I needed that furniture. How is this company still in business?

I purchased a Beautyrest Recharge mattress and a queen bedroom set from Value City Furniture (VCF) 2 1/3 years ago. The mattress is sinking in one-section and the dresser drawers will not stay closed without a sock closed in it to keep them closed. I contacted VCF about the above products and during my initial contact, I got bad warranty information, then I called back and got a BOLD-FACE LIES when my receipt said something else and the icing on the cake (Customer Service Rep. said we brought those mattresses from Simmons and they cannot tell us what to do with our mattresses), mind you they have Simmons Warranty attached to the bed; however, they are not adhering to Simmons Warranty. I told the Customer Service Rep and Jason from the Burbank Illinois location that I have parted ways with VCF. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL GRAVELY REGRET IT!!!

I purchased a $3,700 brown leather reclining sectional with a lifetime warranty due to the motorized reclining features and the salesman basically told my husband that if anything happens and it can't be fixed, they would replace the sofa. Less than 7 months later we began to notice the "leather" puckering and peeling in strange areas as if it were melted, I called the warranty company and was told that unless it had been cut or burnt they could not service it, meaning that if we messed it up they'll fix it but if it's due to a defect or just cheap material, they won't fix it.
I ended up buying patch tape kits for the areas I have to repair that has now become an everyday occurrence. Now the end of the sectional that is a chaise has caved in as if a spring has come loose so now there's a dent in my once nice comfortable expensive sectional. I have a black leather Ashley sectional purchased from Aaron's Furniture that is now 17 years old, gone through 5 moves, 4 teenagers and 7 grandkids and the only tear I have is in the back where it got caught on a doorframe when moved to our basement, other than that it's in great shape. I will never buy "leather" furniture from Value City again!!

Now it’s been five years. We are in need of furniture again. Thought the quality will be good. We don’t need protection plan and all. We spent 3000 bucks and everything gone waste. All our friends bought furniture from them thinking that we might have gone for best and lucky that they took protection plan. Unlike others complaint here about protection plan, our friends had their sofa and mattress replaced by Value City Furniture for the very same defects.

Michael Broidy (VP), Jay Schottenstein (CEO), and Jonathan Schottenstein (President), Value City Furniture and American Signature Furniture mission statement is weak. Value City states that, "We believe everyone has the right to a well-furnished life." The only thing you care about is furnishing your pockets with money. Feeding your bank accounts at the expense of hardworking people who are mistreated by uneducated, and poorly trained staff. Customers bring this family-owned businesses Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) and American Eagle Outfitters, Schottenstein corporation a lot of business.
Where is the great honor you say you have help families furnish their homes??? My current situation and ongoing memories with you are a horror. No one should go through countless problems ranging from broken furniture delivered from your warehouse to customers home, late arrivals to delivery, delivery men breaking and damaging furniture just to assemble. So, tell me what "memories are born"?
Your Value City commitment is only to yourselves. Since you are working on a so called reinventing yourselves by focusing on a "new, eclectic mix of products and a commitment to helping customers express themselves" how about you take all of that energy a pour it into training your staff so that the mission you have for your customers will be positive and pleasant.
Your customer service representative should be called receptionist. They do not possess the skills to assist or help customers. Representative lie, make excuses for why leadership is not available to answer phone calls constantly making excuses no one should be telling a customer to take in consideration their lunch break. My family has been more than inconvenienced by Value City Corporate. The resolution team is not trained to handle problems. They would rather hang up on you then deal with the problem. It's not my problem you have to eat lunch. There should be plenty of people to handle the call center.
What could we have done not to experience this monstrosity of a mayhem is not buy anything from your store period. We could have went to the distributor. Cut you out the middle. Your company sucks and should not be allowed to service in any country. Consumers should have to beg your company for respect after spending hard earned money at your store.

I just had a good experience. I bought a lot of stuff from Value City. I’ve had a back problem for a long time so I bought a real good mattress at the time. I paid $900 for it so I talk to the manager when I had a problem with that. They exchanged it and gave me a promotion if I paid $300 more so now I have $1100 into a mattress and after eight years at SAG than me so I had a 10 year warranty. So they came to my place, inspected it and says that it meets the qualifications of exchanging that this was the office and Henrietta so then the manager from the Rochester area on Ridge Road calls me and tells me they’re only going to allow me the $1100. I paid $1100 plus the promotion that the manager gave me.
The manager tells me there, “We don’t do that anymore.” I told the manager, “You gotta warranty the mattress I have.” He tells me, “We don’t do that anymore.” I told him, “You may not do that now but at the time I bought the mattress that was the promotion I got.” So the ** tells me, “Will give your money back on credit for the mattress you bought.” I said, “OK that’s how you do business. Give me my money back and I’ll go someplace else.” “Oh no. Will give you your credit in the store. Otherwise you don’t get nothing.” So I figure I better go in there and get the mattress otherwise I’d lose my $1100. Should know I go in there cost me $1400 more for the same mattress that I had that went bad now. He tells me the mattress is $2700.
He says, “You got to pay more money for the box springs now" for the same mattress that I bought there and paid more money for you get the box springs for the same mattress for Nas than when you buy the mattress at Ashley‘s. I will do all my shopping at Ashley‘s. They are honest and fair. Not a bunch of crooks like Value City. They’ll make you the price and say it’s warranty for 10 years but they don’t tell you they’re going to give you less than what you had. The manager there is a crock, a liar and a thief. Watch when you shop there. Beware. They're crooks. So now I have a new mattress over $2500 that’s the last of the money that I’m crooks will ever see from me. The best part is I bought a lot of stuff there and spent a lot of money and trusted them. So let everybody know what liars they are and Crook.

I purchased my sectional sofa from Value City Furniture in Jan. 2017. By the time I paid it off in full (six months after the purchase date) it was already falling apart. The fabric is coming off in strips as if the material wasn't reinforced a bit. It is happening in all areas of the couch but, predominately on my Chase and Cuddler. My cushions also began to sag almost immediately.
I wasn't expecting a couch that was perfect as the price ($1,500) usually reflects the quality. But, this was literally like throwing my money out the window. I would have preferred to buy something used then to have spent that much money on something that looks like it's been used for years by someone with pets and kids. I'm truly disappointed and will NEVER give this company another dime of my money. It is such a waste! I recommend you go elsewhere and do your research on what you're getting. I SO wish I had researched reviews for the quality of their furniture. The majority of them are disappointing.
