I have ordered on 7/20 and got to know that my furniture will arrive on 7/25 which was arrived however a few parts were missing and had some cosmetic issues. Since then technicians and delivery guys came 4 times to my home but cosmetic issues are still there. Also slates supports are still missing from the storage bed so we can use it until it fixed. When I called VCF customer care they asked me to call again after one or two days as they were not able to see details in their system. When I called again and explained my issues, my call forwarded to someone else then I have explained again then again forwarded to someone else and she putted me on hold for 15 min and finally talked to me and gave me one more date for fixing issues and getting my full order delivered. So it would be almost a month and my issues will still be there as it is and yes I have paid for shipping.

With 3 small children we were concerned about safety and stain resistance when buying furniture. So we spent hours with the sales team and of course purchased the warranty... Getting right to the point. Coffee table was unsafe and legal action pending. Sofa was stained... Bottom line. If they do not want to honor their warranty they give you your money back for the warranty! It's a total scam. I spoke to Sylvester in Dayton NJ. He has no boss. He has no authority. He reads from a script... Has no idea who his boss is. At least Value City should invest in legal services or a decent customer service department?

I bought a sofa from Value City about four years ago. It was a vinyl couch and it is falling apart. Not only is the vinyl cracking and peeling off, but frame is sagging. I live alone so things last very long in my home, this is the exception. I went to the store and complained, they did nothing about it. Save your money and go to a store that sells better quality furniture.

I bought my bedroom suite from Value City a year ago. A month after getting the set a ring was left from a body oil set. I filed a claim through the $300 warranty company Pure Promise and waited & waited for a response. Went to the page and seen my claim was closed & denied the claim because it was attached to another damage that was not find in 15 days of the incident... No Email sent, No Phone call made. They just expect for you to check their site daily for a response.

When I called to see why this wasn't covered when I paid for furniture insurance they said, "It's a store manufacturing issue" and to call Value City and when I did VCF passed the blame to Pure Promise but All & All the ring was never fixed! I spent $1300 dollars on a bedroom suite plus extra $300 to cover for damage protection and they only scammed me out of my money because nothing is ever fixed! 2 days ago I left my workout weights on the dresser to woke up the next morning to work out and in print of the weights were left in the dresser where the paint came off. Filed a claim the next day. Just looked and they denied the claim. Just HORRIBLE experience altogether. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM Value City and expect them to stand behind their product.

Value City Furniture in Amherst NY: I purchased a captain's bed with 3 drawers and a trundle. The bed itself is wonderful, but Value City's customer service is horrible. One of the drawers was busted, and in a way I could not repair. By way of online chat, I was told I'd have to completely dismantle the bed, bring it back to the store (I hired someone to pick it up for me--more money to return it), get a replacement bed, and have to put the whole thing back together again. I've contacted them again, and just got ignored.

Horrible customer service for ignoring the customer, and for apparently having a return policy that incurs the maximum amount of inconvenience to the customer. What should have been done from day one is that I should have brought the broken drawer back the store and been provided with a replacement drawer. I won't be shopping with this franchise again. It's always more expensive to lose a customer.

I purchased the round Charleston Dining table at Value City Furniture in Aurora IL on June 21, 2018, and set up delivery. It was delivered on June 26th and the base was damaged. Customer service said they would deliver another table and 10 days later they did. That table had 15 holes in the table top. Customer service ask me to try one more time and they promised to have the table inspected before it went on the delivery truck. Today June 5th they delivered another table with the same holes. I think it was the exact one they delivered before. This time the delivery driver actually tried to assure me that those holes were part of the design from the manufacturer, So I ask him why didn't they have this table in the showroom because the one I bought in the showroom did not have holes in the top of the table!!! UNBELIEVABLE. I will not shop at Value City again.

Bought a sectional along with a 7 year protection warranty. Went to make a claim about the leather pulling away from the top of pillows and back of couch and sides but the warranty center said it wasn't covered. Well I was tossed back and forth and the warranty company said it only covers areas where the body doesn't touch. There's pulling on the back and sides but now the warranty company says it doesn't cover cracked or pulling leather or vinyl. WHAT. A. RIP. OFF!!! The warranty booklet given pretty much says it covers everything. I’m going to look into a small claims suit. This is such a rip off!!!

Not exaggerating. Then they told me they would replace my cushion cores. One time courtesy... that was in January 2018. It's now the end of June and I haven't heard anything from them. I contacted multiple times and they kept telling me they would contact the vendor to get an ETA... no response after that... ever. This is the absolutely worst furniture store I have ever shopped at as well as the crap warranty they sell to you at the time you purchase your furniture with them. The warranty company does everything they can to not honor the warranty and when you call Value City Furniture they tell you that the warranty company is a third party vendor even though they are the ones who sold you the warranty. Value City Furniture is certainly making money off this warranty as well or they would not be selling a product for another company. I have filed complaints with the BBB, Attorney Generals Office as well as the Office of Consumer Affairs. I think anyone who has been ripped off regarding this warranty should do the same thing so maybe people can stopped being ripped off.

In 2013, me and my wife looked at a leather sofa sectional at Value City Furniture for $ 1800 dollars. The sales person said it's real leather and I even brought the leather cleaner and conditioner care kit. Well after 2 years when the warranty is up, the leather on the couch started pilling and now after 4 years of pilling the couch looks a mess. I don't even want to invite nobody over because the couch has bare spots all over it, where the leather or so called leather has came off the cloth on the couch. Me and my wife usually buy our couch from Harlem Furniture and it last a long time, but we gave Value City a try because it was a lot cheaper price and we are regretting it now. Please everybody listen to this message, do not buy nothing from Value City Furniture. They sell cheaply made furniture and it do not last long, so in the long run, you will be wasting your money. I purchased a reclining sectional in December 2014 along with the Pure Promise warranty. The pull handle that operates the recliner on the loveseat has broken FOUR times since then. It has been fixed three previous times and I informed Furniture Solutions (warranty company) that I need a permanent solution because the wire that holds the pull is thin and ineffective. Each time they just put a new handle on the same old wire. The last break was a few weeks ago. The warranty company sent a technician out and he did not have the correct part because he was sent the wrong picture of the part. They ask for pictures of the problem. He said he would order the part and they would call to schedule another appointment. They did not call and when I reached out to them, they said it would be eight to 12 weeks for the part. They stated that it would be shipped directly to me and then I need to call to schedule a technician. Not acceptable!

Furniture Solutions would not budge on escalating. I called Value City corporate office and explained that they need to stand behind their products and replace the love seat. They refused. I spoke to Manager Larry at the North Olmsted store where I purchased the sectional, explaining again that they need to stand behind their furniture. Larry, like corporate, claims his hands are tied. I do not want the same furniture. I told him I would take any love seat, one on clearance would be fine. He refused. I told him about a dining set with four chairs that I purchased prior to the sectional. All the screws in all the chair constantly fall out. The quality of their furniture is bad and as far as them standing by their furniture, non-existent. Sad. Will never purchase from them again. I foresee this love seat on the curb this December once the warranty expires.

Nate said he'd be right back, and then 20 minutes later, came back and said he couldn't sell us the set for the price we already agreed on. This was a very poor shopping experience. We left and found the same living room set at Raymour and Flanningan, and got the price we wanted. Don't shop there!

Value City Furniture - Toms River, NJ: I honestly can't say enough bad things about the "quality" of this furniture. We've had a couch from them for about 5 years. The cushions lost anything resembling a cushion within the first year, they just became flat and uncomfortable. You basically sit on a sunken in and uncomfortable frame. All of the pillows around the couch have ripped apart at the seams and the stuffing if you could call it that is coming out. It will be your biggest regret in life to get furniture from this horrible place. You're better off buying Walmart furniture, because at least you're getting it at Walmart prices instead of the insane amount of money we spent on this. It's an embarrassment to have in our home and I can't wait to throw it out on the curb, where I assure you it will remain because no one wants anything that is this low quality, even if it's free.

This was my first and last time I will be shopping at VCF. I had purchased a bed and was told that it could be held until we moved into the new house. However when I went in to make my final payment on April 13th I was told the bed had been discontinued (with no notification of this about to happen). The staff suggested I could find something else for the same price but there was nothing else I wanted. At that point they were very helpful and found me one in another store out of state that could ship it. The staff member at that store told me it would ship out the next week at the latest.

Fast forward to last week: I call to check on its progress and was told that it hadn’t completely shipped yet. After several people making calls to the store to see what was going on I decided to cancel my order and shop elsewhere. Either the manager did not come in until later that day or we were told that they would call us back (they didn’t).

Have had to call Value City several times within months. 3 bad mattress. All 3 times with the same problem with sinking in the middle. This last time they left me a voice mail telling me they will be delivering me a new mattress in exchange for the very same mattress, I think not. In the past I was told to go into store and choose another of equal value, but VC you will not give me anything you want, that's not it. Also purchased sofa/loveseat recliners which are horrible. After getting them home, no support to them at all, when you recline you feel like you sinking in the hole, very cheap. They were brought to me defective but did not know, knew something was wrong, VC sent someone out to check the mattress/sofas out and he took pictures and wrote reports on both because he witnessed the defects.

I am so angry that VC has not called me to apologize and to go into store to pick something else in exchange. Frustrated. Time to contact CORPORATE now, VC will lose me as a Great Customer. Back to Stanley's I go where I know the is made of great quality from experience with them. The one star is for CJ, who helped me in the store. And Ty to Tracy ** who was sent out by VC, examining mattress/sofas, took pictures and was very professional.

The employees are rude and don’t even make things clear. I mean I didn’t get a option to choose from a box or split spring for my bed and the lady who sold me the items was so thirsty for a sell so she completed my order without asking.

My bed come and the box spring didn’t fit. I explained to the lady on the phone what happened and I had to pay more money. I mean they couldn’t work out anything for the mistake their worker caused. I mean they call and harass you about making your monthly payments on time, but is a horrible furniture company and their employees need to be retrained. The delivery driver got my number out of my files and texted my phone after. I have had it with them! Yes I’m making a complaint now Because I couldn’t find a place too and now I did. Come July when everything needs to be paid off, I’m paying it off and I’ll never deal with this place again!!!

Not up to par with Macy's, Bob's or similar stores... They have the worst customer service. They are quick to say I'm sorry about every issue but refuse to take ownership of any problem. I purchased a kitchen table in November. One of the legs had a major crack in it. After several attempts to get a tech out to review the issue (2 months later in January) one arrived. He informed me and my wife that he needed to order a replacement leg. He also mentioned that it may take up to sixty days to arrive. OK, in mid-March I called to get a status of the leg replacement and was informed that someone on the Value City side dropped the 'ball' and the replacement leg was not ordered.

I was assured they would rush the order and get the leg by late March. OK, late March arrived and I was told that the leg never arrived and they would have to put another leg on order. But this time a manager would follow this until completion. April came and no call from the manager or Value City. After I made numerous calls and finally reaching another manager I was told that they would take the leg from one of the full tables and install it on my table. Now it is late April (six months later) and I am still waiting on a replacement leg to a kitchen table that we cannot use in fear it will fall and hurt someone. Recommendation, if you can afford a few extra bucks more, stay away from ValueCity. The long time statement is true... 'You get what you pay for'...

I was scammed into getting the pure promise five year warranty that supposedly covered everything. Since I have a preschooler and a toddler it sounded like a good idea. They immediately denied coverage on my sectional couch. When we were moving we discovered the structural damage (this is supposed to be covered) and called on the warranty before even moving the couch. They said it would take a couple weeks for them to send a tech, we still had to move though so we took the couch in a Uhaul to our new home. Tech finally shows up and determines its transit damage despite us calling before we moved and them being unable to send a tech sooner (and they were told that we were moving).

We filed a dispute and they just told us transit damage wasn't covered. Now I'm going to stop here and drop the fact that it wasn't transited until AFTER the damage was noticed and called in and focus on the fact that when I bought this warranty from Michael ** at the VCF on Utica, I was told that literally anything that happened to my couch would be covered. This is a lie apparently because transit damage isn't covered and apparently they can and will just decide that any damage done can be whatever they don't cover. It's ridiculous. And a complete waste of money. I will never purchase from another lying VCF or get a warranty through pure promise. Not to mention the couch didn't even last a year and a half.

Try to make a claim with Pure Promise Warranty that I purchased through Value City Furniture. It's supposed to be a five year warranty. I only had the chair for 3 years. The material failed and came apart. When I tried to make a claim they told me that the material bubbled and cracked and that was not covered under the warranty although if I would have taken a knife and accidentally cut the back cushion then they would have covered the damage. So in other words if you vandalize and destroy your own furniture the warranty will cover it but just damage that occurs due to poor quality material they will not cover. So my advice to anyone that purchases this warranty make sure that your pet chews up the furniture or just take a knife to it and cut it up yourself.

That way your warranty will cover the damage because if you don't vandalize it yourself they will not cover it. They only cover vandalism. The better advice is just keep your money and don't waste your time or your money on the pure promise five-year worry-free warranty because you will be worried whether or not they're going to cover the damage and trust me what they do best is break their promise. Show me very much advised the Pure Promise Warranty is a fraud and a scam.

They were an hour and a half late. When it came to assembly, the footboard was broken and they couldn't put the bed together. Okay, stuff happens. They reordered the footboard and gave me a new delivery date and time. They showed up a day early unannounced with rails. I didn't need rails. I needed a footboard. They came the next day. With rails. Again.

Finally on March 6th, they get my bed put together but they were, again, an hour late. The driver would not answer the phone to explain anything to me whatsoever. The company has not responded to my emails. When I call, they act like this is normal. The company has made NO effort to do anything for wasting my time and the inconvenience. The manager has not called to check and make sure it went okay or to offer an apology. I would've thought SOME type of effort would have been made on their end to make things right. It's sad because I am a longstanding customer of Value City, as is the rest of my family, because of it's location and affordability. Never again. The store located in Charlotte NC has the absolute worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. I just reported this to their corporate office and regional manager due to the experience. When you call they immediately place you on hold sometimes not even saying "hello" first and when they do answer they provide zero assistance. This includes their managers who also don't bother to return calls or follow up with you. I received defective furniture upon delivery and not once has the store called to inquire with me regarding the issue or apologize about the inconvenience. Their delivery team is just as bad as they don't show when they tell you they will. The furniture was delivered with dark smudges on it after they set it up and the bedroom set is white. I'm praying after reading all of the reviews that we aren't going to be dealing with it breaking in the near future due to poor quality. I regret going to Value City Furniture now.

For over the last year with VCF, my experience with the company has been HORRIBLE...to say the least. Last year my husband and I both purchased a black leather sofa, in which it came in a set...two weeks later we decided to go back and purchased the matching love seat. We stop to speak to the salesperson, and was quickly advised that love seat had been discontinued. So I asked why we were not informed about the discontinuation of that love seat. The salesperson could not give us an legitimate answer for it but only an excuse to state this to us... "We didn't know it and the manufacturer didn't inform us until yesterday." I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!

I've had nothing but problem after problems with VCF from the poor and inferior quality of the furniture to the classic poor customer service. Since then I've purchased several other furniture pieces from VCF including a dinette that I had to take it back after only having it for about two weeks because it developed a bubble on the back-side of the chair. I only had the chair for about two weeks and this major defect happened to it in just two weeks. I just figured it out. That store is located in the HOOD where it caters to the lower class of people, therefore you will get for what you pay for and the service that is provided in that area. I will NEVER - EVER!!! Purchased anything from VCF. I will take my business back to iStyle Furniture Store on Northfield Road in Warrenville Heights, OH, where the service is very professional and hands-on engaging with their customers.

I was basically talked into this warranty for the furniture as we have a dog. They said it covers anything from pet stains to rips and tears. Well my wife had cancer and I spent two weeks in the hospital with her on her last few days. The girl that was supposed to let the dog out didn't do it. Needless to say he urinated on the sides of couch. Called and asked to get it cleaned, had a service rep show up take pictures. Then never contact me again. I called. They said it looks like more than one time accident and they aren't responsible for negligence. I stated why it happened. They said not their problem. Ended up buying a rug and upholstery cleaner and doing it myself. Wasted 500 dollars on the warranty that is useless if they don't want to do it. Furniture is ok manufacture wise as it isn't made at VCF. But stay away from that warranty, unless you like giving money away.

They gave me a broken love seat (wood cracked), I called them. They said they would change it out, that one had tears in fabric, they then said, "We will bring you another one", turned around and gave me the same flipping wood broken in same spot love seat. I spent well over 1k for the furniture with tables that are junk and no one honors the warranty, now I am stuck doing repairs on my own. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. My son's bed keeps breaking and even had to be completely replaced a time before. I called to inform them that it is broken AGAIN. They send a tech out. He takes pictures and says someone would contact me. After a month of no contact, I called them. I was told someone would call me back. After another week, I call back and finally talk to the assistant manager who tells me the bed isn't going to be replaced because it was deemed customer abuse. When I asked how, she said it looks like bed was being jumped on. I told her my son is 19 years old and does not jump on the bed.

If she looks back in the notes, she can see this product has been replaced before. Not to mention, he is a college student, so he wasn't even home. Came home for Thanksgiving, sat on the bed, and it broke. Mind you, I'm dealing with Value City and not the warranty place because when I purchased all my other furniture (bed for myself and living room furniture) the warranty was put on everything but his bed. I was told I should have paid better attention. When I called to complain, they agreed to cover servicing it for the time it should have been under warranty.

Shame on us for not reading the "fine print". So a different piece of the couch broke on the bottom middle part. My husband called Uniters the same day it happened and they denied the claim. Bought a $2200 sectional a couple of years ago when we lived in Ohio and have since moved to Arkansas. Because of the amount of the purchase we opted for the Uniters Pure 7 yr warranty. Two sections of the furniture started peeling so I called to report the problem. I've been told they can only offer a portion of the value based on when it was purchased, and as an in store credit. Oh and by the way, I would have to bring the furniture pieces back to the store. Since I do not live in a state where there is not store they were kind enough to offer a cash settlement of HALF of what the store credit would be, which comes to about 20% of what I originally paid...

So this doesn't sit well because the whole reason you purchase a warranty to cover manufacture defects and the peeling and cracking is CLEARLY a manufacturer's issue. And looking through Value City's reviews I am 100% positive this is a HUGE issue but they refuse as a company to take care of their customer. When you have a 1 star rating, that tells you all you need to know!!! I am the director of sales for a manufacturer of consumer products and extremely familiar with customer service and how important it is to take care of your customer. It's abundantly Value City has no clue where their revenue comes from. If they don't make a change soon they will be out of business in a few years. They are running customer away and there are plenty of other furniture retailers out there that provide a much better customer experience.

I contacted them to file a claim because of a stain and they sent someone out with a little green machine to clean the stain which I noticed did not come out until after it dried. I tried to call them the next day and a recording said to allow them 14 days to process the claim and contact me via phone or email. They did not contact me and because I work 12-16 hour days which do not revolve around the hours they are open for calls it took me about a month and a half to call back, I'm sure everyone can relate to time getting away from you.

I called and they denied a new claim because I waited too long to call back, basically saying I wasted my money on this warranty. It is a real shame that they cannot stand behind their "Promise" and honor a claim that should be valid since I paid the money for the warranty no matter how long it took me to call back. I am extremely disappointed and do not recommend anyone purchase this warranty, you could buy a little green machine To clean your own furniture since that is all they will do for you apparently. If I could rate this zero stars I would, it's a complete waste of money and a terrible experience.

He also mentioned that I didn't have to make any monthly payment and if I chose to skip a month or months I could do so without penalty. Well I found out that Marvin tells lies to get a sale and to get potential customers to sign up for one of their credit cards. I don't appreciate the games salespeople have.

My wife and I decided to use my VA loan to purchase our first home this past April. We didn't want to bring our apartment furniture so we decided to go to Value City to purchase some nice living room furniture. We went to the value city store in Pineville North Carolina and found a beautiful faux leather sectional we loved and decided to purchase it for 2,400 dollars roughly. After delivering the furniture everything was fine until around July when we noticed one day, that the upholstery was bubbling and separating from the sofa in the wedge piece. We called Value City and they sent a technician out to look at the sofa the next weekend.

The technician came and took photos and told us someone should be getting with us to set up a repair or to replace it within the next few days. Two weeks went by and nothing so we called the store to inquire about the status and were told they would have someone from the service warehouse call us the next day. Of course no one calls us back so we called once again and asked could someone please let us know what we could do about the sofa. The manager we talked to said she was going to call the warehouse and asked to put me on hold.

After being on hold for 10 minutes the call disconnected and when we tried to call back no one would answer. I decided to give them a few days to see if someone was really going to call back and after a week nothing. After being treated this way I decided to call the corporate office to file a complaint. The gentleman I spoke to assured me this was not acceptable and stated that he would look into this and either the store manager or regional manager would get back to me in a reasonable amount of time.

It has now been two weeks and still we have been ignored. My wife and I work very hard for the things we have and the money we spent on that sofa didn't come easy for us with a new baby and a new home. We were treated with total disregard and disrespect by everyone involved with the exception of the technician who came to our home to look at the sofa whom was very nice and professional. This has been a very disheartening experience for us and I will never purchase another thing from Value City. I wouldn't want another hard working family to have to go through what we have. We spent a lot of money for what we thought was quality furniture and now have nothing to show for it. My wife and I both agree that even if they had told us they weren't going to cover the repair that it would have been better than being completely ignored.

I contacted Value City Furniture for a refund, and instead they tried to send me a duplicate replacement sofa. After refusing the duplicate replacement sofa, and returning the original sofa to Value City Furniture, I have been trying to get a refund on my Discover card but almost $3000. I have been unsuccessful in working with Value City Furniture and with Discover card. Beware of Value City, and by all means do not use Discover card for any of your financial dealings. They promise us the furniture we were purchasing would hook together (5 pieces, 3 for sofa and 2 for love seat) After waiting almost 3 months to receive the furniture paces and multiple trips to the store after receiving a call saying our order was in (which it was still on back order and not there), phone calls, and then doesn't fit together! Leave work to meet their guy who can't fix it at my home. Wait for Mike the manager to call me (never received a call). I call and he tells me he will call me the next day. (No call) A week+ later still no call (today 5/4/17). I call. Mike gives me multiple excuses about how their delivery truck is down. (Not my problem and don't know what that had to do with my furniture not hooking together) Mike says he will call me in two hours with a solution. (Never called. I waited an additional 30 min) I call corporate who directs me right back to him.

Mike informs me to come in to find something that will work and BOOM here comes the **! He wants me to give him an additional $700+! Then Mike treated me like I was trying to get over on him! I would have been content had they given me pieces that had fit together like promised! Absolutely unprofessional! Mike should not be in management he has no customer service whatsoever! Never have I ever been treated so badly for something that was not my fault!

Purchased a leather sectional for $3200 then paid 495 for the extended warranty. The framing over the past few months had failed in the back parts of the recliner. Their remedy is to fix or replace. Their idea of fixing is to take a pry bar and bend the weak frame into place, however the framing that was failing was wood and is busted. They closed the repair out as fixed!!

I called back in to them to let them know nothing was fixed and that we were getting ready to move in a week. They said they'd get someone on it in a rush. The night before we move nothing was done and they won't look at it while it is in storage. Again, they said they try to fix it and may have to wait on parts which could take up to 2wks after looked at for the second time. Buyer beware!! This warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. Not to mention the quality of Value City is total junk!! And to think that I was told the whole frame was steel! Not!! I had offered to send them pics, but they refused. That wasn't good enough.

I also paid a $40 fee to pay it in installments after I was told there were no hidden costs to do so. That was a month ago, I have been told twice that my sofa was being delivered and yet no one shows up?? I've missed work and lost income, much needed income, waiting for this sofa. The mgr. at the store is always too busy to get on the phone when I call and the delivery mtg. just keeps lying to me about when the sofa is coming and why yet again, it isn't delivered again. When I got in to my vehicle, I took a moment to review my receipt. I noticed that I was overcharged for the furniture $699.99. I went back in and notified them, and they were friendly enough and processed my refund that came to me in three days. Fast forward nine days to delivery day of my furniture: the delivery guys showed up with only my sofa!! They called the office and the office told them to let me know that they would deliver the other piece on the following day!

I was very upset due to the fact that this company had over a week to get my order together, which didn't happen; secondly, the company didn't even have the common courtesy to give me a call to let me know that they didn't have my piece of furniture. Thirdly, after I called them, the only thing that was offered was that I could take the sofa, take delivery of the loveseat of the following day, and a partial refund on the delivery. UNACCEPTABLE!! This is bad business, and now that I have read Consumer Affairs, I'm really wishing I had taken my business elsewhere. There aren't too many good reviews on the list...

On the delivery day, only lamps show up, and that too a defective one. I had talked with both the store and delivery center but couldn't figure out what was wrong. They said they were working on the delivery and asked me to wait the whole day. That evening, they changed plan and switched delivery date to next Tuesday.

After many phone calls, they agreed to deliver it on Saturday. But guess what, they brought some defective furniture. We had to reschedule delivery on the next Monday. They didn't show up and changed the date to Wednesday. They called to confirm the delivery a day before, but on the delivery date, they did not show up. Neither did they bother to let us know. I took a leave at my work and stayed at home waiting for them. I looked online to track my order, and they had switched the delivery date to next Friday. I called them and they were not at all supportive.

When I was talking to them, they again postponed the delivery date to next Saturday. They say they can do nothing to deliver our furniture. They had even confirmed that they will definitely deliver and did not bother to let us know that their plans changed. Now they say, they do not have furniture at their store at all. They made me take a leave on Friday, the 17th and today, Wednesday. They don't even bother to compensate. Previously, we had faced the same issue, but we just ignored their carelessness. But, since they repeated the problem, I couldn't stop myself from writing a review for this terrible company. And when you talk to them on phone, they are rude. The warranty is designed to deny your claim from the onset. Our sales rep misrepresented it in every way and convinced us to purchase. From the moment you call them with a claim, they start the process of disclaiming and finding ways to void it. The warranty is specifically designed for this purpose. In our case, the pet stain was removed, but the odor still existed. Guess what? The warranty only covers the stain - what? It's a pet accident and they know it. Don't let the salesman tell you - "pet accidents are covered". Wrong. Second, our couch began to sink in the middle. The warranty is designed so that if the "sinking" didn't occur from a single event (read the warranty), then you didn't report it timely, so they are not responsible? So I have to drop a piano on it all at once and be sure to call within 15 days to get you to cover a very poorly made product that you promised to cover? It's a scam. Deny, Deny, Deny. That's the policy.

Value City and acceptance now are ripoffs. I had purchased in cash a sofa. Within 60 days the thread started to unloosen. In addition, I had financed a bed, mattress for myself and bed and mattress for my child. Upon delivery I was not totally satisfied of the quality of the furniture. It DID not look exactly as in the showroom, however, it looked nice in my home. As days went along, I saw my daughter's bed was ripped; couch thread is coming a loose and my king mattress thread is unraveling around the perimeter of the mattress. Called value city a couple of weeks ago to complain, they sent a technician out and he agreed the furniture is not in great shape and he had received several complaints from other customers regarding the quality of my furniture and it needs to be replaced/Repaired. The tech informed me value city will call me in a few days with instructions.

I should mention, the location is located in falls church, va. I specifically picked this location because I felt I would have a great customer service experience, boy was I wrong. This place preys on people looking to finance so they can rip them off. "Maha" from their customer service department called me and advise I can come pick out a new couch, my daughter's bed rails were ordered for replacement, however, they cannot replace the 60 days old mattress. I was instructed to cut the thread around the mattress.

At this time, I am concerned of their customer service abilities and how they do not strive to keep customers happy. I am not cutting any thread from a brand new mattress, literally threads were coming out the entire perimeter and tip of the mattress and I do not have time to cut nor want to, which could lead to other issues such as holes and tears. Maha told me she would give me a discount. No I want the new mattress, I had ordered, not a discount. I had asked for the manager, he came over to introduce himself, listened to my concerned, then pulled by another customer. He never came back and left me standing there for 45 minutes.

I went to the acceptance now office and spoke to emily and she informed me she would inquire that I can return the mattress with them; she got back with me the next day and told me her manager "porsha" said I cannot return the mattress only, I need to return my entire order, I found this unheard of and asked to speak with the district manager chris **. Chris called me back after several days later to tell me acceptance now has nothing to do with the quality or warranty of the furniture to go back to value city to demand help.

As of now no help or resolution has taken place after 3 weeks of going back and forth with no results and I owe acceptance now a payment for furniture I am not happy with. I am reaching out for legal advice. Acceptance now has these crazy terms. If you are a day late, a late fee with be charged. They have me at their mercy and they are not willing to help. I DID not want to return my entire order but obviously considering it, however, my daughter will be disappointed. Acceptance now and value city need to be shut down, they prey on disadvantage customers and consumers have rights.

Bought a couch from these guys, had a small gripe in the store when the optional ottoman for it was in the clearance section for $90 but on the floor for $200. Mentioned to the salesman that I'd like to buy the clearance item since there was nothing obviously wrong with it rather than the floor one, but that we would be back later in the day to think it over. Came back an hour later and suddenly the clearance ottoman had already "been sold" and I had the buy the $200 instead. Not a deal breaker, but very annoying; halfway convinced it wasn't actually sold they just wanted me to buy it full price.

So we buy the couch, and it's to be delivered today (a Friday). Time comes and only the ottoman shows up, so I call and ask if there's another truck coming. Speak with a woman who says she has no idea why it wasn't delivered and that she'll find out and call me back. Hour later, the explanation was that they just didn't order it like they were supposed to, and now the delivery has to be a full week later (so I have to take another day off of work). They gave me $70 back (half the delivery fee) but frankly I'm very unsatisfied. That's not even the cost of what I should've gotten the ottoman for. Won't be buying furniture from them again.

The cashier originally was going to set it up for Wednesday November 30th, but we would not be available until Thursday. Well Tuesday night I receive a email for delivery scheduling confirmation and it says Thursday December 8th is our delivery date. I call them so that the date can be corrected, because I have already had my old furniture removed to make way for new furniture, the salesgirl/cashier tell that was the date I ask for and that I should have read the register receipt and that it could not be changed.

I wasn't at home at the time and couldn't review the receipt at that moment. We ask to speak to the Head Manager and she said she is the manager, by the way she was the Same person who we paid at the time of purchase and she also told us it's not their responsibility to make customers aware of any of their policies or procedures. We should have read the receipt, which is a register receipt. After debating with her about the deceptive way we were being handled, we said we would come in and get a refund because we had paid $1000.00 cash and the balance on our credit card.

The salesgirl/cashier/manager told us the portion pay with credit could be refunded but we could only get $200.00 in cash out of the thousand we paid in cash and we would have to wait until December 8th to get the remaining balance. So we felt that we had no other recourse but to wait until furniture would be delivered on Thursday December 8th. Oh yeah, by the way when we got home and reviewed the receipt it said delivery date is Wednesday December 7th. Now that's A 1 customer service for ya! SMH!

The couch cost 550.00 of my hard earned money. I love my mother and only wanted her to have a nice couch to sit on. This experience has been horrible for both us. That day we went to purchase the couch was suppose to be a happy moment has turned into a horrible experience. And I hope that when this review is read by someone who has moral and a sense of right and wrong and not corporate greed will contact me. And give my mother a new couch and written apology from corporate about the service we received.

I called and the warranty company said it wasn't covered, after fighting with them I got nowhere. Value City Furniture finally replaced the couch. We are now having frame trouble with the loveseat and Pure Promise said it's not covered when it is. We bought the full warranty for both pieces. So we are looking at a class action lawsuit against them, this is a total ripoff and scam by Pure Promise.

I purchased a sofa on 10/6/2016 from Value City Furniture. I picked up the sofa and I was aware that I would be responsible for putting the legs on the sofa. Once I set up the sofa there were no holes for the legs. I called the Orland Park location twice and they recommended that I feel around the bottom of the couch again to find the holes to screw in the legs. They also recommended that I cut the fabric at the bottom of the couch to find the holes and if they weren't present that I would have to drill the holes in myself.

Eventually, I contacted the store manager, Ed. He was helpful and requested for a technician to come assist me. I received a text message stating that the technician would come out between 9:30am-11:30am. I missed work just to make sure that the situation was handled. I contacted corporate at 12pm and spoke with a representative. They stated that the technician would be at my location within 2 hours. The technician came and had to drill holes in the sofa. In all, I'm not satisfied and will not purchase furniture from this company again.

Sales was a great experience however the warranty is the biggest load of BS. They give you a run around to get anything fixed and cannot give you a timeline as to when pieces will be in for the repairs. There is no straight answers. If you don't report the damage within 15 days of it occurring then it will not be repaired. If you report it within the time period then the repair company will have a subcontractor contact you within 5-7 days. Then depending on their schedule will be how far out it will be for him to get to come out and estimate what the damage is. Once the damage is assessed he calls it in to the warranty company who he will talk to then as he leaves he passes the phone to you and you get left on hold for 15 mins. Next best part is they then tell you that the store will arrange the delivery and that they, the warranty company cannot tell you when the pieces will be in to fix the broken furniture.

I bought furniture from Value City furniture about a year ago and I've been regretting it ever since. The staff at Value City is very unprofessional, rude, and ignorant! I will never shop there again and I recommend others not shop there as well (this is the Value City Furniture in Calumet City). If you're thinking well maybe it's just that location and their staff...WRONG! The furniture is bad also. It breaks, and it tears! I've only had this furniture since last year. I take VERY good care of my things so when I see something that just breaks or tears after such short time I questioned the company. Now let's talk about the warranty company PURE PROMISE that they recommend who promises one thing...not to fix a damn thing!

Their customer service is crap as well as their policies! If you have a spill that happened a few weeks ago they not only not fix it but, you can't fix it yourself either because it voids any future work being done on that piece of furniture unless you show proof that you paid another professional company to come out and professionally clean it for you!

Ok so I paid you almost $200 for a warranty to cover me for 5 yrs, for you to tell me that you don't clean something that's a few weeks old, I can't clean it myself and if I do I void my contract with you and I have to pay someone else to do it and show you proof? 0_O Well why did I pay for your service to begin with. You couldn't clean my couch cushion properly a year ago. You couldn't repair a tear in one of my pillows. So what can you do? I know... Nothing!!! Anyway I hope this was helpful to anyone thinking about going to Value City Furniture where nothing is of any value and if you do go and buy furniture avoid their Warranty company Pure Promise where they promise not to fix anything and piss you off instead!!!

When they were putting the bed together they found out that the leg supports for bed are too tall, they put two and left two out and said the technician is coming Thursday to fix that and bring the missing chair (they took the damaged one back with them).

My back started hurting so bad and I left work 6 hours earlier than I was scheduled, went back home right at my appointment window 12-2 pm. No one called or showed so called at 2 pm - I was told that my window is 12-3 not 12-2. I said that's ok. No one called. I called back at 3:30 and they said they will call the driver and call me back, no one called back, so called again at 4:30 pm guess what: "The driver was not feeling well so he didn't work the whole day, and we will have to reschedule you for next week and you will get $50 for the inconvenience." To make a long story short I had to wait two weeks to get the bed straightened up with my back hurting like hell, and no $50 or any kind of apology and when I called they said, "We will deliver your message to the manager" and refused to transfer my call. So the story begins that I customized a couch and a love seat (love seat makes a sofa bed) and I knew I would wait 40 days, not 4 months. I received a call at the end of March telling me to pick up my furniture so I sent my brother-in-law 30 miles to and from to find out it was only the mattress to the love seat. Then a couple weeks later I receive another call saying my furniture was in and sent my brother-in-law once again to go and find out the love seat is in but they "forgot" to order the couch!!! So at this time I am pretty upset. I call corp and we talked several days and came to an agreement that they will give me a mattress and box spring for my troubles and if I agree to keep my business with them and not ask for a refund. I was very disappointed when I received the mattress because it was exactly 3 inches thick!!! And who is gonna sleep on that?!

So anyways I am still waiting on my couch 'cause at this time the truck that hauled it to VC's warehouse is brokedown. So again I wait!!! Now... my poor brother-in-law goes to pick up this "ghost" couch to bring it home only to unwrap it and find it is busted!!! Upset again, I call VC and they said, "Hang on to that. We will deliver you a new one and pick up that one." Well I was told on July the 14th it would be in and delivered!!! Here it is July the 14th and I call to see if it was in and the girl said yes!!! Yay!!! So I asked what time would they deliver it and she said hold on... the supervisor gets on the phone and says they can't deliver it until Tuesday!!!

I said if I were the manager I would personally haul that couch myself!!! Angry I hang up and call corp. The lady I spoke with said she would call and see if they can make an exception to deliver today and he told her my couch hasn't even arrived and they don't know when it will!!! Either he is lying because he doesn't want to deliver it today or they have screwed up yet again and not ordered the couch!!! I WILL NEVER SHOP AT VC NEVER EVER EVER NOR DO I RECOMMEND IT!!!

We purchased a bonded leather couch in 2010 for $2100. By 2014 it was tearing. We purchased the warranty and it didn't cover the tearing. So we were stuck with this couch until we recently heard VCF would replace the furniture because of the tv investigation. They will not replace your couch, they give 70% of it's value. In our case that was $1500. We went to see what we could find. Instead of having the freedom to walk around and look, we were unrelentlessly stalked by a salesperson. He followed us all over the store popping up every time we looked at a couch to tell us something about it. It got to the point where we were all we could do is laugh because he wouldn't stop following us. If we didn't have the credit, we would have left and gone somewhere else.

That kind of pressure is rude and unprofessional. We told him twice that we would find him when we found something. It was such an unpleasant visit because of the way we were stalked by the salesperson. We didn't even have the privacy to talk about the pros and cons of the furniture we liked. Moral of the story... You get what you pay for. Don't expect quality furniture from this place because you won't get it. It serves a purpose if you are on a budget but don't expect it to hold up for years. Their furniture is not made that way.

After five months, the arm of the soft began to pull away from the rest of the couch, and the seating had begun to lose most of its comfort. At the one year point, the arm rests lost the cushioning by flattening out significantly, and the entire sofa was literally falling apart. You can see the larger part of the sofa's 3 seating sections are pulling away from each other. The wedge, the least used portion, has a wobbly leg. My husband, who can fix anything, has had to make several repairs. After spending $1800 on a sofa, we would have expected a much better product. Attached are two pictures that were taken only 1.5 year after purchasing the sofa. I sincerely regret making this purchase. What a sincere disappointment.

I purchased a 3 piece bonded leather living set. Along with this purchase I spent several thousand other dollars on other household furniture. I purchased the Pure Promise protection plan and extended fabric protection plan as well. Since this purchase which was actually 2012 I have had to make 2 claims. The very 1st within 6 months of delivery. I paid 1299.00 for the couch itself with an additional 184.99 for fabric protection. Just last week I noticed that the bonded leather on my couch is coming apart at the seams. I filed a claim and explained that the couch is rarely stay on. I do not have pets or small children. I actually have a sitting area with other furniture that is used.

At that time I was told that bonded leather wasn't covered by the protection plan any more. I was informed that I would have to contact Value City Furniture store itself because they would have to assume the responsibility. I was told that my couch should still be covered. In fact the lady whom took my call at the warranty department told me that she was even making corporate aware of the matter. She even tried calling the local location but after an hour no answer. She assigned me a claim number and advised me to call them back to come assess the issue. She informed me that if I had any problems to inform the local store that she has already notified corporate supposedly. I asked if my warranty was still good and she explained yes but that the bonded leather repair issue is now the direct responsibility of the store.

After contacting the store I was told and very rudely told that they are not responsible. I was told several inconsistencies that I'd refer to as LIES! I was told since the warranty was purchased in 2012 that it expired 3 years after. Then I was told that since I moved to another residence since the time of purchase that the warranty became void. I was told that the warranty now only covers frame issues. I clarified at the original call that the only way the warranty was void were if I resold the furniture. Now which is it? The store associates were beyond rude and not customer friendly at all! I repeatedly said I have a claim number which no one asked for. I repeatedly said that I was told that corporate was already made aware and if any issues that the store associates should just follow up with them. Again not a single associate bothered to do so.

The guy who contacted me called me from a store in another state and rudely said "Not our problem". Without even giving me a chance to respond he hung up. Customer service is everything to me in this world of the buyers' market. I have made many purchases from this furniture store with my hard earned dollars. As a consumer the customer service was completely disrespectful! I will never again purchase anything from Value City Furniture store ever again. I could care less about a bargain, a free delivery, nor any promotion that they have. I have been a loyal customer but I will not spend my money where they do not stand by their products and let alone disrespect me in the process!

We bought a couch, loveseat, chair stadium style seating and a dining room table with chairs we picked out. It cost over 3k. The table and chairs are good. The stadium style furniture with the couch and chair that has buttons to push to open the recliners are both not good. You can't lean on the couch or arm of the loveseat which is a manual recliner. Why you may ask, because it will lean and break the reinforcements on the back of the furniture apparently. Not built good at all! We are lucky we got the insurance. If you didn't use it you get your money back after so many years I think. Well, that will never happen. The first time they were out it was because they didn't hook up the furniture to an outlet so that you can use the outlet and USB inside the couch and the chair. Note, not the manual loveseat because it didn't have one.

Also the pistons on the chair in the arms were malfunctioning. Every time you pushed the button for the recliner, the arms covering the compartment for remotes and where the outlet was kept popping in the open position and if you didn't have your arms on the chair it would stay open in the popped up position. Those pistons would take over 3 months to get to us. During that 3 months... they were out again for the chair, which was stuck in the open position and wouldn't close. Nice. The next time they were out were to finally put the pistons in and the guy said that the arm may come up a little until it is warm. It was cold that day. That never happened so they had to bring out another one. The next time they were out was because the couch arm was leaning. Before he left he tried it and the couch made a clicking noise because he said he set it to go back further down for me.

Now, two things here. One I assumed the clicking was normal because I'm not an furniture repairperson. Second, I didn't notice at the time the comparable difference it looked to the other side of the couch, but maybe I was just being picky. Assuming he knew what he was doing I went along with it. After all, it's the same guy every time. He leaves. Now I sit down on the couch that he just put a reinforcement piece in that fixed the arm of the couch and told me not to lean on it and to be careful. IT'S A COUCH. What person doesn't lean on the arm of the couch. I have older children that do it. Really? That day when I went to go get up from the couch, the first time, you all, the couch recliner part was crooked and wouldn't close properly. My husband came home from work and fixed it but, the coach will never be the same because it still has a two clicking sound and every now and again when I adjust my body it clicks.

I don't even weigh 280lbs and now it is 7 months and I hate this furniture. I like the idea of the way it looks. I like the lighting, USB, the outlets in two of the pieces, the cup holders and Bluetooth hook up but, it is the most uncomfortable furniture for someone with my type of muscular issues. On top of all that, my back started hurting and I need pillows around me to be comfortable and if I could trade it in for something else at this point I WOULD. I'm hoping to win the lottery so I can buy new furniture again, because technically, I'm going to need too in order to be happy at this point. Did I mention they won't replace it. They just keep coming out to fix it. Yeah, I'm done. I thought they changed but, sadly not. At least the guy that comes out is nice, but I spear it seems like he messes it up so he can come back.

Do not EVER purchase the "Worry Free Pure Promise" plan when you're asked to add that on to your purchases at Value City Furniture. It is an absolute SCAM! They say that they cover accidental rips/tears/gouges, but what they don't tell you is that there is a list of fine print bullet points regarding things they won't cover. When you're trying to make an important and expensive purchase, such as a sofa, all you have to go by is what the sales rep tells you. You do not have time to read a warranty agreement word for word right there on the spot. When you read that it covers all accidental wear and tear in bold print, you think, "absolutely, I want to protect this investment, so I'll do whatever it takes to do that!" When it comes time to make a claim, however, they will fight you on it and ultimately you'll lose.

Somewhere in the agreement, it even says something along the lines of, "If there's a dispute in the contract, the contract stands." LOL! Just to make sure they cover all of their bases. Also, the woman that I talked to told me it would take 7-10 min to file a claim. I told her within the first 2 minutes that the claim was due to a pet incident. She asked me maybe 10 times to repeat the details, got it all entered in the system, and then told me that we had to start over because the information was lost. 50 minutes later, the claim finally goes through, and she says, "Ma'am, this claim cannot be processed because we don't cover pet damage." I mean, come on!!! KNOW YOUR POLICIES, PEOPLE!!! Don't waste nearly an hour of my time to tell me something that you could have been upfront about in the first 2 minutes of our call. "Worry-Free Warranty" is not worry free. Don't buy it. Don't even entertain the idea for a second!!!

I called the store and gave them the SKU numbers to order me some furniture. Upon completion of the order, I paid for the furniture in full using my bank account card. I was called maybe a week later and told that my delivery had been scheduled. I asked them not to deliver it and said that I pick it up from the warehouse. When I arrived at the warehouse I was told that there was a balance left on the furniture. I went to customer service and asked how could that be. The customer service representative told me that it happens quite often. People will purchase furniture and think that they paid it off but a small balance is left over. She said that maybe I didn't have all the money in my account when I charged my card. I was insulted and still had a lot of questions. For one thing, I assured her that my bank account does not have a liquidity problem. I paid my balance in full prior to the day of pick up or the furniture would not have been ordered.

Her explanation that it happens all the time was not reassurance. It only tells me that Value City Furniture has developed a pattern of charging people nominal amount of money after they paid their balance off thinking that the amount will be so small that they won't mind paying it. I watch every penny that I spend. And I didn't appreciate the way Value City held my furniture hostage seeking to bleed any little penny from me that they felt like they could get. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Well I had a party on Saturday and on Monday I called and was told it was covered the three cigarette burns. To send the picture and claim number to pcs@palladio.biz. I did so only for them to say there is excessive wear and tear on my furniture. I couldn't believe they said that being that there is nothing wrong with this furniture other than the 3 burns and they say it's not covered. I paid the extra for this only to tell me it's not covered so I will never buy from Value City again. This is very disappointing to pay for a warranty and it don't cover anything. You just pay for nothing.

Three years ago, we bought what seemed to be a soft brown leather recliner. We purchased a 7-year warranty as well. Within a year of purchase, the threading under the arms of the chair (on the outside) came apart & now the open seams were over 4" long. I called to see if they could repair it and was told that it wasn't covered because it was normal "wear and tear". Needless-to-say, I was disappointed since the area isn't one you come in contact with to cause damage. Bear in mind we are a childless household and we're pushing 60. Then the recliner cable and mechanics broke the following year. Also not covered. Yep, normal wear and tear so my husband repaired it as best he could.

About a month ago, the leather on the cushions of the chair (where your back and headrests) started to flake off (sorta like Saran Wrap). The flakes got bigger (2-4 inch pieces) until we now have a 12" x 10" section that shows the fabric underneath. It's constantly flaking! I was sure this would be covered as a manufacturer's defect so I called the Warranty Department again. And yet again... Not covered! It would have had to be the "back" of the recliner (literally the back of the chair) & was told our chair isn't fabric nor is it leather so another reason not covered since our recliner is "bonded leather." And this particular issue is not warranted. Value City Furniture--- We will never step foot in your store again! What ever happened to standing behind your products & customer satisfaction.

I had the absolute worst experience dealing with Value City in Manahawkin NJ. I purchased a piece of furniture, which I was pushed into buying and that they did not have in the store, but was compared to a chair that WAS in the store (turned out to be NOTHING like it)... so all I had to go by was a picture online. When I received it a couple days later, it turned out to be the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have ever sat on and was extremely unsatisfied. The seat was very hard and the head pillow pushed my neck forward not to mention it was a very small chair!

I had called to explain my situation to them and that I wanted to return the chair to buy something MORE expensive and was told it would be a 25 DOLLAR restock fee (which is still ridiculous since it had been less than 24 hours that I had the chair but I was okay with that.) When I went to the store to pick out a new chair, I was told that it was going to be 25% restock/delivery which came to about 70$ to return which is more than DOUBLE the original delivery price. (30$) (Return policy states 25% after three days, chair was received Sunday & I called THAT evening not to mention there is NO POLICY regarding exchanging) & to spend 70$ plus pay MORE for a chair and THEN have to spend another 30-50 $ to deliver again is extremely ridiculous.

The manager was not in and I was told to call the following day to speak with him. I spent two DAYS trying to speak with the store manager due to my dissatisfaction, which I was told he was either not in or on a bank run that happened to last several HOURS. I again showed up in the store even though I was told the manager was NOT there to which he came walking out the back. The manager Kevin ** was very rude, condescending and not the least bit helpful. I had stated that I made several phone calls wanting to speak with HIM and not the sales lady who I originally spoke with because she is not able to make the decisions and it was very rude of him to NOT return my phone calls and advised that I was ready to take my business elsewhere to which he was not apologetic and told me that would be my choice and was not the least bit concerned with keeping my business.

After going back and forth and growing more and more frustrated I decided I would NOT want to bother giving them MY money and business if they are going to give me such a hard time and not work with me. I have never been treated so disrespectfully or known a manager to be okay with losing a 500$ sale. A simple phone call back could have potentially resolved my issue but instead I got the run around from a place with no customer appreciation. I have preciously bought 1200$+ worth of furniture and have recommended the business to others but you can guarantee that from this point on I will never return to one of their stores or recommend their business to anyone I come in contact with. If you are not going to satisfy your customers and work to make them happy you should NOT be running a business or managing a store! Very unsatisfied customer!

After much difficulty in the transaction of purchasing one item being a sofa, I am still having issues in getting a full resolution with this company! The company placed unauthorized charges on my Capitol One credit card (I paid via telephone therefore no receipt received), when calling both the store and the Corporate office I was given the runaround and no one called me back.

When Capitol One contacted them they were given false information regarding the charges. They stated the charges for $105.99 was a delivery fee, despite the fact that per the store manager, Jason, my delivery would be FREE. This was confirmed by the Corporate office as well. Also, if the charges were for a delivery fee, why does the charge of $105.99 differ from Value City Furniture's delivery fee of $69? Again, my delivery fee was waived per Jason, the store manager and Corporate. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE CHARGE OF $105.99!

After speaking in great lengths with the store manager, Jason, his assistant managers Paul and Jackie, the information I was given was not fulfilled in terms of delivery fee being waived, taxes being waived as stated by Jenna, Supervisor at Corporate and the many others I have spoken with in the process. 3) When said sofa was delivered it was damaged, yes, a brand new sofa damaged. One of the legs was completely broken off and the wood that connects the base of the sofa was split in half. I addressed the issue with the delivery folks and they said I would have to contact the store.

I called the store immediately and left a message for Jason. Days later no one had returned my call, therefore I called again. Jason wasn't available so I asked for Paul, not available so I left another message. No one called me back again. The last person I spoke with that was non management indicated that the first available service or repair appointment would be a month out.

What? That is ridiculous! I just received a damaged product! They also said they did not schedule time frames, therefore they expect you to take an entire day off of work and sit around and wait. Just like they did for the delivery! Finally I called and asked for all of the above and received much run around by the individual(s) answering the phones. I was eventually able to speak to Paul, the assistant manager. He was able to get the service scheduled for a week out. He stated that he would make sure the appointment would be scheduled for after 330pm due to my work schedule. The day of the appointment I received a call from the repair tech at 930am stating that he was at my home. 930am? Far from after 330pm.

I call the store immediately and ask for Paul or Jason. Neither were available, I got the run around again. Finally Jason was able to get the technician to come back, quoted me a time frame of 330pm-530pm. After 6pm rolled around and no technician, I called the store, spoke with Paul. He stated that the tech must be behind. Not my problem! I had been waiting for hours! The technician showed up around 645pm. He didn't have proper tools to fulfill the issue so he used glue in the meantime. I have yet to hear back from them about another appointment for service to fulfill the issue. Yes, I have left messages for the manager(s). I never received any form of apology from Jason, the store manager. Paul, the assistant manager is the only one who seemed to be genuine in the matter.

I am still with a damaged sofa that when you sit on it, it has a see-saw effect. It also had deep scratches in some spots and tiny puncture marks on one of the cushions and on the back base. This sofa was not cheap, therefore there is no excuse or reason for it to be in such condition upon arrival. The unauthorized charges on my card are unacceptable! I will seek out legal assistance if the issue(s) are not fully resolved within a timely manner!

Well now, 2 months later there's already a rip at the seam on the cushion for the connected chaise. After about 10 minutes, I approached them and told them that I needed help. As soon as I said this one of the sales started to stand up UNTIL I mentioned that I wanted an ottoman, which is when he sat back down and told me that Zachary would take care of me. Zachary walked over to the ottoman and told me right away that they didn't have it. I asked him to order it for me but he suggested that go to a different store to make my purchase. I explained to him that I purchased a futon and TV stand from them and that we picked it up, so I told him I wanted him to order the ottoman for me and we would wait for it to come in. I thought this was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and it bothered me because we have purchased quite a few items from this location and never had any issues. Thank you.

November 19, 2016. Our delivery was scheduled between 1-3pm on November 18. At 3pm, I made the first call to Value City to check on the status. I was told that they were running about 30 minutes behind and should be at my house within an hour. At 4:30pm, I called back and this time I was told that they were two stops away but it should not be much longer because they just had to drop off 2 sectionals and nothing to assemble. I called back at 5:45 and now I was being told that I was the next stop and they should arrive in about 45 minutes.

Every time I called I was being told that they could track exactly where the delivery company was at all times. I call back at 7pm. I am being told that they were still running behind but assured me that my delivery was next and should be there very soon. She told me that she was going to personally call the delivery men and find an exact time they would be out and she would call me right back. That call never came.

Now it is 8pm, so this time I called Erik from the Acceptance Now program because he is the person that dealt with my wife and I. Since I was just getting the run around with the delivery company I thought I would give him a shot. He tells me he is going to get with the manager find out exactly where they were because he could track their exact location and would call me back within 10 minutes. Well now it is 8:30pm, no call back from Erik so I called him back. He told me he was just getting ready to call me. He said that they should be there by 9pm. He was positive of it.

Knowing that Value City closes at 9pm, I asked what if they have not arrived by then. I will have no one else to call because they will be closed. He said call me back at 8:45 and he will personally give me an update. I tried at 8:45 no answer, I get voice mail. I tried calling him 8 more times up to 9pm and not once did I get an answer. In the mean time, I am calling the delivery company again and now I am talking to a woman named Willow. She has assured me that I am the next one and they were going to be there at any minute. She said that she would have the driver’s call when they were on their way. That call never came and she also said that she was going to call me back with an update but that call did not come until 10pm and she left a voice mail because I was dealing with the Comstock Fire Department at that time. I will get to why they were at my house.

The drivers arrive at 9:30pm, 6.5 hours after my appointed time. They attempt to back their truck into my driveway and in doing so, tore the cable lines off of my telephone pole that go to Charter Communications. After getting the wires from being wrapped around their truck they parked in front of my house. Within 5 minutes I had 2 fire trucks, 2 police cars and 1 Consumers Energy truck in front of my house because they were called thinking that it was power lines that were ripped down from the pole.

The delivery drivers then bring in the first chair that I ordered and that was fine. Next they start to unload what was supposed to be my love seat and it was not the right color and it was not even the right love seat. So looking through their truck further they did not even have it. They then bring in the 72" entertainment center. Upon getting in my house I see it has 3 big gouges out of the front of it and the back had a hole punched in it. The drivers then tried to install the glass doors. They did that completely wrong. The doors will not even close.

Then there was a baggie of "extra" parts. They told me, "It is your lucky day, you get extra parts." Are you kidding? Then upon looking at my receipt instead ordering the sofa table that I was supposed to get, they duplicated the order for my chair. While all of this is going on the fireman are putting caution tape around my house and around the lines that were torn down. Charter Communications show up at midnight with 3 boom trucks and spent until 3am rehanging the lines up in front of my house.

I called this morning to the delivery company and to the Kalamazoo office. Told them both my story. Neither one acted like they cared at all. They both told me that they would get right back to me and it has been almost 3 hours. I have zero furniture in my living room, don't know when I am getting anything and tomorrow I have family arrive that will be with us for the Thanksgiving holiday and nowhere for anyone to sit. So I called the Corporate Office to let them know what was going on. They contact the Kalamazoo store manager, Tim, and I was assured that I would be getting a call back within 30 minutes, no later. If I don't hear from them in that time frame, I was to call the Corporate Office back. Well, it has been an hour and I have yet to receive a phone call. So, I will call the Corporate office back again and see what I am told this time.

Just spoke to Rich at the Corporate office. Third person I have spoken with there. Went through the entire story with him. He took down my name and phone number. Said he was going to contact the Kalamazoo office manager. He was going to speak to his own supervisor and talk to the delivery office. Just like everyone else has told me, he will call me back. Not one time has anyone called me back. I have always had to call them.

We purchased a 3 piece sectional from Value City Furniture on 5-19-15 for $3107.46 including a 5 year warranty. Value City Furniture delivered the 3 pieces. Shortly after delivery we noticed that the right end of the sofa was crooked compared to the other end of the sofa and those of the loveseat. We asked for a technician to come out and look at it. On 8-18-15 their technician arrived and discovered two broken wooden frame components that he suspected were broken during shipment or delivery. As he left, he stated that Value City Furniture would contact me in a day or two to let me know if they would send someone to our house to repair it or if they needed to pick it up for repair.

After several days had gone by, I called them up to find out what they were going to do. At that time they said I needed to schedule a pick-up. I relayed the information their technician had provided and asked when they were going to contact me. The customer service rep simply kept saying "we can do that now". The pick-up was scheduled for 9-22-15 after I had called to follow-up on their technician's inspection. On 9-22-15, outside their stated time window, their drivers picked up the sofa (recklessly) and literally threw it in back of the warehouse truck once they had one end in the rear of the vehicle.

On 9-24-15, I called to find out when the sofa would be repaired and delivered. Their customer service representative stated it would be delivered on Saturday, 9-26-15. On Saturday afternoon I contacted Value City Furniture and asked when we could expect our furniture. They stated it would likely be 9-27 or 9-28-15 and they would give me a call to confirm. On 9-30-15 I again called their customer service department and asked when our sofa would be repaired. Their customer service representative (Ashley) states it should be ready by Tuesday or Wednesday next week (10-7 or 10-8-15).

I regret that I did not research Value City Furniture more closely before purchasing from them. They have less than a 1.5 star rating on our local Yelp page. They are not a BBB accredited business and the BBB website lists over 1000 complaints against Value City Furniture with over 600 complaints concerning problems with their product or service. We have been without our sofa for nearly a month. I have learned my lesson and will never purchase from Value City Furniture again.

It looked nice on the showroom floor, but it isn't furniture you can sit on without it breaking down. I am still making payments and I'm stuck with a broken couch. I will not be purchasing furniture from Value City again.

First of all the manager of the Catonsville MD store is a complete liar and idiot. He should be fired! Mark my word, I will never purchase anything or walk into this store for the rest of my life. The delivery drivers literally drop the furniture on the floor loud. I not sure that downstairs neighbors appreciated that. Secondly, when taking off the plastic, they scratched the wooden feet of the sofa and love seat with the box cutters. Why?? Because they were careless. They didn't care!! Also upon inspection of the sofa one cushions was stained with a grease stain. The drivers gave us some cleaner which did not remove the grease stain.

When we called the store we were placed on hold endless times. And when we did get the manager on the phone he said he would order new feet and a replacement cushion for the one that damaged. He said it would take 2 weeks to come in. When we called back he said it would be another 2 weeks! Guess what, we never got our replacement for the damage that was cause by what he said was a third party delivery crew. This store sucks donkey **!!! Don't buy here period. Crooks!! I refused it, so they brought out another one with the same lightweight material that had ripped on the first one so I refused it. Now Value City wants to refund my money and pick up the mattress, leaving me with NOTHING and I am disabled! They offered me $150.00 off the one I had but would void my whole warranty, NOT AN OPTION.

So now they have left a senior, with no funds to go buy a new one, that is disabled and they want to come and get the mattress then give me my money back, leaving me with NOTHING to buy another one! Value City has the WORST merchandise and if they are selling factory seconds they need to tell the customers and give a discount for that, which they DO NOT. NEVER BUY FROM THEM! So, we ordered this nice bedroom set that consist of a bed with 2 piers, a mattress and a dresser w/ a mirror from Value City. We excitedly waited at the apartment for 10 hours for our bed, mattress and the 2 piers to come (we had to wait 2 weeks for the dresser, mirror and another piece to the piers). We called them at about 1 pm to track our order and make sure they were going to be on time - they had two stops ahead of us. Keep in mind when we called, they knew exactly who we were before we told them. It had to be delivered between 1-4. We were waiting so long, my partner fell asleep.

4:30 come around, still no furniture. So we called and they said they had come already and I'm like, how?? We didn't get a call or nobody rang the doorbell?? They claimed they called a number on the account THAT WASN'T MINE!! Long story short, we had to wait for our bed set to come an extra week. Fast forward a month and a half later, we're still waiting on the dresser, mirror and pier piece. And Corporate office are no help at all!!! We bought a sectional sofa and love seat from and 4 chairs and a table from Value City Furniture (Warrensville Heights) and were told at the time of purchase that if we bought the warranty, they would come in and replace each piece of furniture free of charge for any reason whatsoever for the next 5 years. It sounded like a good deal, so we paid, I think it was $500 extra to do that, and it has been a nightmare getting them to follow up on their promise. We have had people come out to "check it out" to see if it was "bad enough". They brought furniture stain and a needle to sew up the sofa that had separated at the base. THAT was NOT what we paid for or what we were told.

This first visit happened only after about 7 angry phone calls to the store. THEN they finally, about 6 weeks later, decided they would follow up and trade out the furniture - after about 6 more angry phone calls. They first came to trade out the furniture - promising to be there before 12 noon... They came at 2:30 and had THE WRONG FURNITURE. My husband had to miss an entire day of work for these losers. Then, they had to COME BACK and though they did come in the time frame, they came with 1 piece but not the other replacement piece. THANKS PAM! So, now, we have to deal with these losers coming back AGAIN and take time off work AGAIN so that we can try a 3rd time to get our furniture replaced.

I have such anxiety because there are pieces that are still warrantied and we will have to go through all of this again at some point in the next 4 years and I seriously don't know how we'll handle it! THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!!! There is seriously no upside to purchasing furniture from these people - it's not even that much less expensive than anywhere else and the company is complete chaos with constant turnover and absolutely NO internal communication the least. I am seriously amazed that this company has continued to exist. This whole experience has been a nightmare. My advice - pay the extra money to get customer service. It is the best investment you will ever make. DO NOT BUY FROM VALUE CITY.

I am very unhappy with the service and products that I have bought from Value City Furniture. I bought a set of couches from Value city in April of 2013. The couch broke after less than a year. The couch also severely scratched my floors. The service man that came out said that these type of couches break all the time. So why would you sell furniture that breaks. So after many phone calls and service calls later, Value City decided to give me credit on the sofa not the love seat. So now I am stuck with a love seat that does not even match. This was a two month fiasco with broken furniture (that I could not sit on) also missed days at work for service guy to fix multiple times. Also for new couches to be delivered and they didn't even take the old couch they put it on the curb.

So I go shopping for furniture again in less than a year because of Value City's terrible product. Oh and I am still stuck with the love seat that I can't get credit for. So I spend more money on a sectional at the same Value City store the first time I shopped in. This set actually lasted me a little over a year. I ordered it in March of 2014 and had it delivered in April of 2014 (another month of no furniture). I don't know about anybody else but I don't have two sets of furniture that I can just swap out for my other set to get fixed. I have one living room not two.

Now it is June of 2015 and my couch broke a couple days ago. I sat down and heard a big crack. Now I can even sit on it, and on my love seat the seams are starting to come apart and has ripped further that the stuffing is coming out of it. I spoke with a Mike today and sent him pictures. He has advised me that Value City will fix the couches each at separate times and they can't pick up till the 26th of this month. That to me is unacceptable for me not to have couches for at least a month and a half again. It's ridiculous. I just want my money back. I dealt with this a year ago of not having furniture for over a 2 months and I am not willing to do it again. Why am I having this problem again? Why do you sell bad furniture? I want my money back.

I know how this will go because I did this with the other sofa Value City had to fix. They fix it and then it breaks again. They fix it and then it breaks again, then they try to fix it again. I can't afford to waste any more time or money with Value City products or service. I did this last year and I am not doing this again. I want my money back.

The couch set I have had before this lasted me and my family 8 years. Why are we having a problem with Value City Furnitures product? Please advise whoever has to be advised that I would like a response tomorrow. If we cannot come to an agreement. I will sue Value City Furniture for 3 times the amount of the two sets of furniture that I have bought from Value City. I have already spoke with my lawyer and will have papers drawn up. I am also going to file a complaint to Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. Please respond in a timely fashion.

I got a vm saying that the guys are at my door and will leave in ten minutes. It was 11:23 am, I was like ok. Got to the apartment, because I was already en route and the truck was gone. My husband called to see if we can get it redelivered after the other deliveries and they said yes.

3 hours later still no furniture, so My husband called again and was told that they would be in route in ten minutes. My husband sat around until 17:00 with no truck in site. I called and they informed me that we will get a delivery, something happened on the road. At 19:00 I got a phone call stating that one of the movers had quit on the road and they will not be able to deliver my furniture until 29 Jun Monday.

So on 28 June I get a phone call to confirm my delivery and the lady stated that I will get my whole shipment with the exception of a twin box spring. So I called and let them know if I don't get my whole order they can keep my order. The girl on the line stated that I was getting my whole order just not on the same date. I let her know that I understand that this is not her fault but, how in the world can I not get a whole order if my order came directly off the floor? And furthermore if my furniture is not complete was they delivering to me off the truck the day before? It just didn't make sense.

As I am typing this I was guaranteed a 08:30 delivery and it is 08:47. I got a phone call from the delivery stating they will call 5 mins. away. We live 4.6 miles away from store. I let the manager know if every piece of my order is not on the truck they can take it back to the store. The only reason I didn't cancel this order is because when I went to look for the exact furniture at other stores the prices were 3000-7000 more than what I was paying which is already 7000 give or take without my discount. I have to give credit where it is due after my rant over the ding in the foot of the sofa bed and the front of the sofa having a scratch on it. After a few phone calls, Value City Furniture in Manahawkin NJ did after all stand by and they switched out the sofa bed and replaced it. The one they replaced it the gentlemen were friendly, careful and replaced with a better sofa. The cushions which on the first sofa were very soft almost like broken in, anyway the new sofa cushions are firmer. I am very pleased with the outcome. Thank you.

    Original Review: May 4, 2015

I had a bonded leather sofa bed and queen headboard and nightstand delivered. The three men that came were in a rush and had a problem putting the feet on the sofa which they put a ding in the wood along with not attaching the front feet all the way, there is a gap. Plus they put a scratch in the front, and a nail looks like ready to pop out on the side.

I was told to call service. Why do I need to call service? This is a brand new sofa. I want brand new no marks or anything, and the 2 of 3 cushions are soft. The queen headboard looks like they rushed to put together. The piece is crooked but I don't mind. It seems to be sturdy. They have VERY RUDE people working for them. They act like the customer is wrong. We want new furniture. That's what we paid for.

I should have stayed away from that store. My family members that purchased a lot of furniture from Value City Furniture had nothing but problems and still waiting for repair which should be replaced. Plus pay for ripoff warranty. THEY DO NOT STAND BY WHAT THEY SELL.

I am having my living room couch replaced with the exact same couch (through the warranty). We were given a delivery date of Saturday, April 25, 2015 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. I received a call around 3:30 p.m. stating that they had several cancellations and wanted to know if they could come early, and I told the gentlemen on the phone to give me a call back in about 10 minutes. I was going to see if I could find someone to meet them at my house. Well needless to say I had to reschedule and was guaranteed that I would be first on the list for Saturday, May 2, 2015.

On May 1, 2015, I still had not received a call regarding delivery times so I contacted the delivery office and was told that my furniture was not schedule to be delivered tomorrow as it was still on the list for the 25th. When I told the guy on the phone the issue he said "well the next time it can be delivered is May 6, 2015." I asked to speak with a manager and was placed on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up on. I had previously picked out furniture for my sitting room at Value City that I wanted to purchase after all of this got straighten out but I will be going to another store to purchase any furniture I need in the future.

I called to speak to a manager regarding a Canvas called "My Final Estate." I was told that this Canvas was out of stock and would not be available till May 21, 2015. The furnishing consultant indicated that I had to wait till they became available in stock and was not able to purchase the one that was the floor model. I asked to speak to a manager & was told he said that they couldn't sell me the floor model Canvas. I called back to see if I could speak to another manager & was told the same story. I explained to them that this was a gift for someone very close leaving out of town & they did not care about how much I really wanted to purchase the Canvas & when I needed it by.

I felt they didn't even care if they lost a good customer. I was going to purchase a living room set that was over $3,000 this month & now changed my mind. They didn't even offer any courtesy as a customer. The location was on 83rd & Cicero. Spoke with ** over the phone & ** was the consultant (very nice consultant). ** tried very hard to sell me the Canvas, but managers said, "NO"!!! Extremely disappointed & ANGRY! No regard to customers!

My family purchased over $5000 in furniture during 2 shopping experiences in the past year. The salesman made us feel confident with the purchase assuring us that 'absolutely' everything was covered if we purchased the 'warranty'. Apparently using the furniture was not included. The manager now has a complete idea of customer service. We are now stuck paying for living room couches that are not usable and still have to continue to pay the 'zero %' for 2 years, little consolation while we have to purchase new couches. I wouldn't buy a throw rug from VCF. Cute commercials by the way!

I did an online purchase of a bedroom set March 17. They told me it will be delivered April 16 between the hour of 12:30 and 3:30. I get a courtesy call saying the driver is running late two hours behind. Okay cool as long as I'm getting my furniture today. I get a call at 3:19 saying it's not in stock, I have to wait till may 1. Are you kidding me? I am so mad. I waited a whole month for this **. Mind you I paid in full and they didn't have no empathy so I called for my refund and he sound like he was having a bad day. The phone service suck, he kept breaking up and they having trouble with their computers and phones. Smh, the distribution center was located in Indiana and I'm from Chicago. Heads up with online ordering with value city, I have to wait 7th for refund and out of a bed for a month. Worst experience ever...

I bought a bed that didn't last a year...it broke and nearly cost me $2000. I called April 4th to have it replaced. They were supposed to deliver it on the 14th and pushed the date up to the 16th. I called them prior to let them know I moved and have them my new address and the sales rep told me I was in their system. So today I get a call telling me they are at my house. I said "that's impossible because my door is open and we don't see you." They went to my old address. Now they telling me they can't deliver my bed...I been sleeping on a couch and the floor for two weeks and I am highly pushed - that's their mistake, not mine. I will never spend my money with them again. Sorry Value City.

We bought a mattress with a 10 years warranty that settled over few inches a little over a year. They told us to come to the store to select a new one because they do not carry the same model anymore, so after picking a new mattress they added a delivery charge on us saying we picked a new mattress and we should pay for delivery. How come that is our responsibility? If you warranty something you should pay for it to get delivered. Of course we ended up paying since we had no choice.

We also picked a cover protector for the mattress and the salesperson entered the wrong price so was holding to the cover afraid we run away with it before we paid the extra 40 dollars. Staff was very rude including the manager that blame everything on us. At the delivery date we received the wrong mattress that we didn't order and when we call the store they blame on us saying it's our fault for miscommunicating with the salesperson... How?

I purchased what was supposed to be a full-sized futon online and had it delivered. I expected it to be closer to a full-size mattress than it was; it was about 8-9 inches smaller and too small for my purposes. The return process was effortless, but I was very angry to learn that I was taxed twice; once on the item, and also taxed on the delivery fee, both of which were not refunded (of course!). I was not told of this added tax by the salesperson, nor was it indicated during the payment transaction. I should have picked up the darn thing myself. SMH.

We decided to purchase again from Value City. Our first experience we purchased a bedroom set which has peeled and is wobbly after 5yrs. Also bought a metal table which we had delivered and put together. It was drilled and stripped out and never has been sturdy and solid since we purchased. Should of learned our lesson. Well 10 yrs later not much has changed. We decided on purchased living room set we liked in the store. The customer Rep spent a total of a minute all together w/ us. We purchased on February 13th and then were told it would be March 13 before our furniture arrive that it was not in stock. So we waited called a few days early to check in to see if our furniture came in early we were told it wasn't there yet.

Overall customer service and informing customers they are TERRIBLE! So the date for pick up we call that afternoon since not hearing from them only to be informed we have to wait another 2 1/2 weeks. We were upset but still patient. The day came. We went picked up our furniture up which took forever and they weren't busy. We were the only ones there. We get it home and unpacked and a piece is missing to our sofa. I then call and ask manager which he informs me to look am inform look underneath it. There was no piece. It however was in the secret compartment in the sofa. After waiting a few more days it would have been helping for someone to inform us of that. This is a terrible company. No customer skills or service. I also purchased insurance which I am hoping I won't have to use after seeing the review on their insurance. I will never buy from Value City again!

My wife and I shopped and purchased 1 coffee table and two end tables from City Furniture. When the items were delivered they were all three defective! (Glass tops did not fit.) The deliverymen were made aware of this and we have record of such! This being said City furniture wanted to schedule of a repair of the new tables (really repair new tables). At this point we contacted our sales rep and told him we did not want the repair of new tables. We said to just pick them up and give us an in store credit and we would choose something else. He told us this would ok however we would be charged 15% restocking fee for the defective tables. I have never heard of such a thing. Buy new merchandise, it's defective, I can't even get a full store credit. I have to give them 15% to restock the defective tables!!!!! Really!!!!!! I am going to write consumer affairs on this one for sure! Buyers beware of this operation! NONE I MEAN 0 INTEGRITY!

I purchased the couch and the salesman reassured me that the extended an expensive warranty would cover if there was damage ever done by our dogs. I was later told that was not true. Then the manager told me he would send one of his mechanics out to have the damage evaluated and order the proper parts which I was told I would pay for the parts and not the labor. When the mechanic came out he did not order all the parts he only ordered one part and now the manager refuses to order the right parts and keep his word.

I had a delivery of a furniture set from Value City Furniture on March 6th to my new house. I have a wood door with a glass front door. The delivery guys left a knife hooked between the upper border of the doors to keep it open (the glass door has an automatic closer so can stay opened and the wood door doesn't, they could have asked for help but didn't). This knife ended up causing the front glass door to break. The delivery guys left quickly as nothing happened and even left their knife. So now my glass door is broken (out of the frame) hanging only from the door opener. I've called Value City delivery service here from Columbus, Ohio almost every day. Several times they said they were calling back and never did.

Finally on Thursday 03/19 the insurance company came to see the door and agreed on the severity and urgency of my situation but Value City still doesn't call. Even after I've called every day, they say the manager will call back but never happens. My condo association is urging me to fix this as it looks bad and the door can fall out of the frame any minute. It's the last time I buy anything from Value City. You don't care at all about Customer Service, I'd be surprised if you contact me. I'm still waiting for my door to be fixed and I haven't even received any refund of any amount, apology, nothing.

Scheduled a delivery for a piece of furniture - purchased on Sunday, delivery scheduled for Wednesday. Was told I would be called with a delivery window of 3 hours. I asked if I could be called one hour prior to delivery so I could be sure I would be home. On Monday I received the call delivery would be from 3-6 pm. 5:25 on Wednesday I call the store to inquire about the delivery. I'm told I'm the last delivery of the day and the truck is running behind. If I don't get it by 5:45 to call back and they will call the driver to find out what stop they were on. Around the same time I check the online shipment status - it has changed from en-route to delivered. Imagine my surprise that it's been delivered when I've been sitting, waiting for it.

I chat with the online representative that gives me the same information that I should be patient as it's on the way. I call the store back to find out where the truck is. I'm told now that my order had been cancelled and was never on the truck. It had been cancelled last night by "someone" and cancelled was written on the contractor's paperwork so they never loaded it on the truck. It's impossible to know who made the error and possibly just cancelled the wrong order or so I'm told by the store manager, "It's one of those one in a million things." Lucky me! It's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow morning before 8 am as the very first delivery. The store manager offered to refund the delivery charge - I'm two blocks from the store. I said that was a bit of an insult for me waiting all afternoon and it was ridiculously high for 2 blocks anyway.

The Bailey's Crossroads location. This is the worst most unprofessional store I have ever dealt with. I ordered my furniture for almost 2 months now. I still haven't received all of them. Imagine two months!!!!! I addressed the store manager and he promised $100 to be credit back to me for the inconvenience because of their lack of communication with each other. I never received it. Also I was promised $100 store credit and didn't receive it. When I called to inquire about it I was disrespect by the manager "**" and threatened with all kinds of words, harassed, and I was told I wasn't getting anything. All my years I've never seen such an unprofessional business like this. I spent over $2000 worth of items that I'm going to return immediately after writing this review. They wasted my time, my money and they caused me a lot of hassle and trouble. My advice to all is to never purchase anything from them, worst business and managers ever.

The 1st night we had 40 minutes before they closed and they gave us a minute by minute reminder that they close in 35 minutes, 17 minutes, 12 minutes sharp. I was going to buy a couch but I said fine I'll come back tomorrow. The next day, the woman was so rude that I walked out cash in hand and no sofa. I'll spend my money elsewhere.
