Purchased a tufted king bed with buttons within the design, one button falls off. Contacts VC, they say it's on the warranty company to fix it. Contact the warranty company, they say it's on VC due to when the claim was placed. Long story short, warranty company now claims, it does not cover buttons that fall off but initially they did. Warranty company suggested I purchase fabric to replace button myself. I am so sick of the back and forth of them not fixing my furniture. What good is the warranty if it's constantly being revised to not fix a dang thing.

I bought a sofa set with an ottoman. Not even a full year later the base of the sofa starts to rip away from wood. I bought the warranty and they stated all they cover is stains!!! Went to the store to show them how both of my sofas are ripping at the seams and the pillows are coming about. I was told they couldn’t help me if the warranty company didn’t. My set isn’t even a year old. I paid for it cash upfront. Just awful. Now I’m stuck with a sofa that’s ripped up and falling apart. No I don’t have young kids that would of tore it up. Just disappointed!

I purchased a recliner in 2016. About 2 years later the "leather like" material started falling apart. It looks awful. I went back to the Value City Furniture store, In Newport News, Va. where I had purchased it. The manager told me that since I did not purchase the extra material insurance, he would not do anything for me.

Delivery day no chairs were available, the corner was broken off the dresser, the leg was broken off the love seat. The furniture was to be replaced and the 6 chairs delivered 3 months later, We agreed to wait, it is 2 months later and they just informed us it will be 2 more months. We asked for loaner chairs, "Sorry we don't do that". We asked to return everything for refund, "Sorry we don't do that". They have our money and we have a dining set with no chairs. And a broken, dove seat and a bedroom dresser with a corner broken off of it. Store manager is nor is customer service.

The driver arrives an hour outside the 2 hour window and doesn’t have 2 of the chairs we ordered. We call the store and they never put them on the order. Without naming names...our Salesperson was CLUELESS! Call to tell them the problem and some flunky leaves me on hold forever. We bought a power reclining sectional from VCF along with the 5 year warranty. One of the power recliners is stuck in the up position. We opened a claim in May. After a few calls, we did get a technician to come out and all he did was say he had to order a part. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything, I called and was told the part had not been ordered yet and once it was ordered it would be up to 14 weeks for it to be delivered. What? 14 weeks for a part to be delivered?

Fast forward We are still waiting on the part and when I checked the site today, I see this message, "Due to high claim activity, It’s taking us longer than normal to process your claim. We apologize for the delay and we will email a claim update as soon as possible. Please note that sometimes it may take a few weeks." Fast forward 14 weeks, we still do not have part. This is not acceptable in my opinion and trying to call someone is almost impossible. Everything needs to be done online and there is little to no communication from the warranty company.

Ordered two armchairs; took two months and when we got them home, discovered the fabric covering the bottom of of one chair was totally ripped/torn on three sides. The fabric bottom of the other chair was also torn but not as badly. The legs of the chair were zippered into the bottom of each chair and clearly were too heavy for the flimsy fabric. Waiting to see if the worst of the two can be replaced, however, just a cautionary note to check purchases carefully top to bottom!

I have been a loyal customer with Value City Furniture. During the last ten years I bought a lot of different items from them. Once, they convinced me to get an insurance with my purchase, so I did. I bought a corner sofa and recliner, and I bought insurance with it. They assured me that if ANYTHING happened to those items they will take care of it. DO NOT EVER BELIEVE THAT. They will take your money and you will get big fat NOTHING in return. When I made a claim, because the base on my recliner got broken, I went into the store and made a claim. They scheduled the estimator to come out to my house and take a look at broken item.

Two days prior scheduled visit I got a call from them which stated that estimator cannot come and I have to go online and make a new claim with pictures and videos. So I did, and I received a message that somebody will contact me within 5 days. NOBODY contacted me. After some time I went to website and I saw a message that my claim was denied - no explanation. I wrote them back asking the reason why it was denied. I'm still waiting on an answer. Nobody even tried to contact me. They just want to get your money, but they don't want and they WILL NOT FIX OR REPLACE your damaged furniture. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

If I could rate this a zero I would have! Do not buy furniture from this store and waste your money on claims that will not get paid out! I have bought thousands of dollars of furniture from this company. I turned in one claim for $400 on two chairs that I had for less than a year. The threads started coming out all over the back rest of the chair and around the arm rests.

The company never called me with a day the service technician was supposed to come. After I called and got the date, I was never called with the two hour window. I was told I would also get a call 30 min before the technician arrived. After not hearing anything, I called the store and the technician lied and said he called me. Then when another technician was scheduled to come out, he came in and took pictures and left within 2 min. I was told that my claim was denied due to animal damage. Then I was told my claim was denied because of accumulation. Finally after no explanation of what accumulation and a refusal to see what pictures were submitted, the manufacturer referred me to the company for the protection plan I purchased. The protection plan also denied my claim due to the fact the manufacturer was not covering the claim.

I purchased a sofa bed from Value City Furniture in Green Brook, NJ. The bed is approx 1' shorter on either side as the sofa itself. This has created a 'void' where there's no bed below either end of the sofa. When you sit you feel the frame of the bed and the cushions sink into the 'void'. I've had the service department out and they are at a loss for how to repair this. I've gone back and forth with the service department about this and their answer is to send me new cushions. This will not fix the problem. The store will not return the sofa due to the fact that I had custom fabric put on it. If I was told in the beginning that this would be a problem I would've never purchased this particular sofa. Now I'm out $2000.

I recently purchased some furniture from Value City Furniture, and the delivery people were over 45 minutes late on the day of delivery. They tried to shove a huge couch through my hallway and staircase. Scratching off my hardwood stairs and the walls. Forcibly trying to make it fit. The woman in the group told me all about her female problems. It was all a horrible experience. When I contacted the manager of the store, He told me to get an estimate for the repairs and it would be taken care of.

The next day I got an estimate and waited. The claims department called me and said that it would be handled in 72 hours. I waited for days and no one contacted me. When I called them they did not return my phone calls. I contacted the store manager again. He then had them call me. They asked me to bring them another estimate to compare. So I got another estimate, and it’s been eight days and I haven’t heard a thing. I’m at my wits end with all the damage done to my beautiful home and my brand new floors and paint job. I will be contacting my attorney soon. I don’t know why they would hire such delivery people that are so incompetent. I will never do business with Value City Furniture again!! The next day I checked on my order and it changed the delivery date to April 3rd. A week before delivery I received an email asking how I was enjoying my furniture. I called the store to make sure they didn't deliver my furniture elsewhere, and they giggled it off and said they were not sure why I got that email, and that my delivery was set for April 3rd. April 2nd, I received a call from Value City stating that I would be getting my delivery between 10am-1pm. At 2:22pm they called me back stating that they didn't have my furniture, and they weren't able to deliver. I checked online and my order stated that the order was ready for delivery. I contacted the corporate office, since I was told that my furniture would be delivered and I did throw my couch out that night for trash pickup the next day.

They said it was human error, and that there wasn't anything they could do but offer me 10% off. I told them I have a family of 5, and I don't have any furniture and they were just so rude, and unempathetic about it. I spoke with three different people and all of them did nothing about this. Like I told them, they don't care since they already were paid for the furniture. I told the last person I spoke with that I was going to contact the BBB about how they are conducting business and he told me, it doesn't matter, I'm the one who responds to those complaints anyways. I will never ever buy furniture from Value City Furniture again. I have waited almost a full month, and they still can't seem to deliver on customer service, or when it comes to organizing a simple couch delivery.

I just recently purchased some furniture items from Value City to be delivered to my home as I have done several times in the past. Which I have had pleasant experiences each and every time. Which is the reason that I have remained a loyal customer over the years. However, my recent experience, was a horrible one. I should caution you, this story is going to be a long one!

On the day of my delivery, there were 2 gentleman who came out and delivered and set up my furniture. They seemed to be professional and performed their job with ease. When the job was complete, the 2 gave me the electronic pad to sign my signature as well as the website to rate my experience. As the 2 left, I noticed that 1 of the workers had accidentally left his tools at my home. So I stayed at my home for about 20-30 mins after, with the intention that they would return to retrieve the left items. When that did not happen, I gathered the workers' tools and placed them in my car to personally return them to the Value City store location in which the furniture came from. I had also made a call to the furniture store and explained to a customer service agent that I would be returning some tools to the store today after a worker had left them behind.

The agent asked for my address and told me that this would be ok. Well about 45 mins. later when I was already back at my job, I had noticed that I had received 2 missed phone calls and a voicemail message from the delivery worker **, stating that he had left his tools and asked if he could return back to my home to grab them. After hearing the message, ** had called yet again for the 3rd time. I Answered the call and had then explained to the young man that I had already returned back to work and had informed him that I had his items and that I would personally return the items to the store myself out of convenience.

Well that must not have been good enough because he then states in a sarcastic manner, "OK, you are back at work and I am right by your house." I then told ** that I understand that he had left his tools at my home due to his negligence however, I also, have a job to do and that I had to return back to work. He then tells me again sarcastically, "Well those are my tools and I need them in order to do my job"! Although his sarcasm seemed rude and extremely unprofessional, I again proceeded to tell him, yet again, that I will drop off his tools to the store after the time I get off work at 4:30 pm.

So after around 5:30 pm, I started to receive calls from the delivery driver and his wife repeatedly. The 2 even sent text messages demanding their tools. Then to make matters worse, the store Delivery Manager **, had also called my phone several times and also left a text message as well requesting the tools and stressing in the text the importance of the tools. These calls lasted up until around 6:45 pm or so. I at this point, had had enough! I then called Mr. ** wife (since she was the last person to call and made a request to come to my home to grab the tools) and explained to her that I have received every missed call from both herself and her husband as well as the delivery manager.

I explained to her that I was unable to answer the calls due to being in business meetings at the moment. I then told the wife that all these calls were unnecessary and highly inappropriate and that I had already told her husband that I would personally drop off his tools at the store. She then apologized and the call was ended. I finally went to the Value City Furniture store at the 5450 E. 82nd St. Indianapolis, IN. 46250 location which is the location of the delivery where the furniture came from as well as the delivery drivers employment location. Once inside the store, I politely asked the customer service agent if I could please speak with a store a manager about being harassed about the workers left tools at my home and how I felt disturbed by all of the calls and texted messages.

The customer service agent apologized for my experience and had informed me that there was no one that I could speak with regarding my experience. At that point I had dropped off the workers' tools and quietly left the store. I also noticed that there were several other employees there and 2 that were inside of 1 of the offices. Out of all the employees there, no one did anything at all. This experience was 1 of the very WORSE experiences in my entire life that I encountered with customer service. And all over left tools due to the delivery driver's negligence.

I felt harassed and bombarded about a mistake that the worker made and somehow I was made to pay for it by the rude and unprofessional behavior from the delivery manager and the workers involved. This was truly unfair and I should not have been treated this way at all. Which is truly sad because I have been a faithful customer to Value City Furniture store for more over 15 years now. And sadly to say, I will not be returning back.

I have been purchasing furniture from Value City for over 20 years and the quality of furniture and managers have diminished. Approximately 5 months ago I purchased my granddaughter a bedroom set, dinette set along with sofa and lamp. Well, after a month the chairs continued to become loose and my husband would tighten, well I thought it was because delivery persons had not tighten properly. After tighten again and again we called and they sent a tech to check them and he tighten but stated "These chairs are no good and will report so they can replace."

Well after a couple of days and I did not hear from the store. My granddaughter and I went to the store and our salesman help us pick out another dinette set which cost a little more and seem a little better constructed. Well, after 3 weeks they delivered the wrong table (which was high and chairs were low). Instead of leaving the old set they left the set that you can't sit down and eat a meal because your chin meets the table. During the same time they sent a tech to fix the bed which was loose and he stated "The delivery person that put it together put it together incorrectly and not tight enough".

Well after calling the store the manager said she could not do anything until the delivery truck returned and she checked, well I could not understand that because at least they could bring back the old table and deliver the correct item. She then asked us to measure the table to see if we received the wrong table or wrong chairs. Well no measurement was needed. The table was not a normal high. Anyone with sense could see that without measurements. She then stated she would call back once the truck arrived back at the store. I then wanted to talk to another manager and she stated he would not be back in the store until next Monday which was 6 days later. I was really upset then and simply hung up.

After a couple of hours another supervisor called me back and remember there was no more supervisors there until Monday. He stated it was the wrong table in the box and he could have it delivered by the following Wednesday (6 days with nonfunctional dinette set) and that was the best he could do. When I asked him what about the fact that we had been inconvenienced and will continue to be for the next 6 days. He said "Oh we will credit your account $75.00." Well, we make more than 75.00 in a day and will have to take off again. He then stated, "That is all we can do!"

Well, the next day I called the 1 855 number to ask where could I make a complaint about everything I'm been through and after waiting approximately 15 minutes and the nice lady really trying to help me ended up transferring me your store Leesburg Va location which was the store we purchased from and talking to the same so called managers and them telling me, "Well ma'am you are not letting me get a word in. I am telling you I can not override the other manager giving you the $75.00 credit."

Well, he never listened to me. It's not about the $75.00 dollars but the inconvenience and being talked to any kind of way by two managers at the store over the phone. They are making it about the money, nothing in life is free and I am not asking for free, just quality furniture and quality service which I did not receive. In closing, I will NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE FROM YOUR COMPANY!!!! I was the type of customer that could have done a commerical for your company. Very dissatified. No stars.

Zero stars. 000000. Last year I bought a 3pc set from Value City Furniture. Dual reclining 3 seat couch, dual reclining love seat and a rocking recliner. To say the least it’s a piece of crap. The back of each of my cushions on the couch and love seat is ripped and the cushions are exposed, the footrest don’t come out when we pull the lever on the love seat, and the middle cushion on my couch is buckled in the springs are popped so no one can sit in that spot and it’s a very bad eye sore in my living room. Not to mention the wood on the backrest is very wobbly and I think it’s broke. I don’t have much but I don’t want crap for furniture. I called Value City and they said to make a claim through the pure promise since I paid for it when I bought the set. So I did.

I apparently checked off the wrong things that was wrong so they denied my claim right off the back so I did another claim and made sure I did everything right. The guy came out within 7 days and when he did he said the footrest is missing the part to pull it open. And the set would cost more to fix than to just give me another set. So I asked him does he know if the warranty would cover it and the man specifically told me yes it would. He tells me I should hear something in 7-10 days. I waited 20 days and called them. They said my claim is denied because my couch fraying is caused over time. For one the fraying they are talking about is ripped and because of that one thing my claim is denied.

So the wood breaking happened at one time and the footrest happened at one time and the springs popped happened at one time and nothing will get fixed because they say the exposed cushions happened over time. This don’t make sense to me because they will cover if I stab up my couch and they will cover if I drop a glob of ink on it but they won’t cover damage that is caused by their workmanship. The guy who came to my house told me that the dust cover they put on the bottom of couches to keep dust out is the same exact material they used on the back of my cushions to hold them in. So in reality it was a disaster waiting to happen when I bought them. They make cheap furniture and don’t want to fix them.

Honestly I really believe they don’t want to help me because they don’t want to give me a new set like the guy said they need to. So it’s just easier to deny my whole claim. I am fighting this to the end even if it leaves me nowhere because this isn’t right for them to deny my claim for one thing when there is 4 things wrong... I would not recommend buying into this pure promise warranty. The store warranty covers more than they do and the store warranty comes with the purchase. I paid 280.00 for absolute nothing. I wish I would have seen all these reviews before I got the pure promise because I would have never wasted my money. I am gonna try and fight for these ** until I get some sort of resolution.

Making it look unsightly and uncomfortable. I filed a complaint, submitted photographs and called and left several messages with the manager. No one has gotten back to me. The person I spoke to on the phone told me "tough luck". I also purchased the lifetime warranty! I am in NJ and purchased from the Rt. 22 location on Greenbrook.

I was very happy with my recent furniture purchase. The items were delivered on time and the furniture was great. 1 week later some of the buttons on the recliner would not work properly. I was not disappointed as these things happen from time to time. I called VCF customer care and explained the problem and they scheduled a service person to come over on the December 29th. No one shows up. I call VCF again and they inform me that someone did not pass along my information to the repair center and they cannot come till the 5th of January. On the 4th of January, I receive a voicemail saying the serviceman is on vacation and cannot come until the 15th of January.

Now I begin to get disappointed and call VCF again on January 4th. Customer care told me that this should not have happened and they would call me back in 2 hours and get this resolved. No one calls me for 2 days. On January 7th (Today), I called VCF again and the arrogant customer care rep tells me that my service was automatically rescheduled to the 15th and he cannot do anything about it or help me. He tells me that he does not see any notes from my last calls so he will not comment. This is very disappointing and disturbing that they treat a customer’s time with no respect. There was not even an apology. Just plain arrogance. This is my first time buying furniture for my house and Value City Furniture has seriously disappointed me.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have filed two separate claims about my sectional. The first claim was denied stating that manufacturer defect isn't covered in my warranty, but it is. I have copied and pasted the policy that states it is covered. When I called the warranty service center, a representative told me to resubmit my claim and mention frame damage as I am also having those issues. She also said seam separation was covered, which is also listed in the below policy. That claim was denied because the tech said it was pet damage, which is crazy considering I don't have a dog or pet. The tech also said that they would need to put a new cushion on because a zipper broke and it is fraying the back cushion. However, that isn't going to happen and he didn't fix anything.

He removed three nails/ staples sticking out of the sectional that have been cutting my children and I, then took pictures and left. He also said the tear in a seam was there when I purchased the sectional because it is where they notch the arm. Why would I ever purchase furniture if I knew there was already a tear in it?! The tech made up garbage to me and then went back and made up more garbage about a pet that doesn't exist. I have seen the 288 negative reviews on this company and the scams that are taking place with people's hard earned money. This company cons people into buying warranties and then denies the claims with garbage and made up reasons. The entire sectional is falling apart all over. I am sending this entire issue and correspondence to the FTC and BBB immediately. I used the exact language in the policy and they still denied my claims. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

Manager claimed she could send a "leather expert" to my home to stretch the leather only as a courtesy because the furniture was sold "as is" from their discount room. A man showed up two weeks later and only took pics and said the manager would get back with me in 24 hrs. Said he was only there to take pics.

After not hearing from the store in 2 weeks I called the corporate office and Brandy talked me like she was crazy. Said not to bother going over her head and she wasn't doing anything about my complaint. I work hard for my money and should have stuck with Havertys where I would have gotten real, un-defective leather with spectacular customer service. We considered that it was a misunderstanding from the salesperson and they revise the invoice to add the price for the additional piece of sectional couch. They said they will deliver it by the following week together with our dining set. My bf had to take a day off that day to receive it. Without notice or even a call they canceled it, and pushed it back 2 weeks! Because they said they don't have that piece (ridiculous).

Now new date for delivery is 12/13. We thought it's okay as long as we will complete everything before Christmas party for our family, and today we received the dining table and we love it! But guess what, they still dont have that piece for our couch! And we already pay our 1st month bill, without having it completely, their words are all lies! Stay away, it's our 1st home and expecting our first baby, our excitement just went down the hill because of their service. It's not worth it dealing with all their lies. We are paying completely. She advised me warranty was still good just have to call direct.

When I called I was Put on hold to be assigned a claim number then pressed for a date when problem was noticed, didn't remember exactly so she said claim couldn't be submitted, so I grabbed an approximate date out of thin air. I wish I could give this company 0 stars. My fiancé and I bought a $2400 furniture set called the Big Softie on October 20, 2018. It was scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. The delivery drivers threatened to leave after 2 minutes of my fiancé not being here. When they arrived, they were throwing things on the floor and rushing around. One of the recliners (power) did not even come with a plug. The plug for the center console was shoved inside of it and could not be reached. The delivery drivers did not even hook it up. We had to call customer care and they sent a tech out the next day. He was very kind & hooked everything up correctly, but had to bring plugs with him because for whatever reason they were not provided.

At this point, we noticed how much that recliner did not look like the others. It was USED! It’s saggy and the stuffing is coming out of the sides. We call customer care again and they schedule a delivery for November 16th. The piece they brought on November 16th was WRONG. It was not power. Back to customer care we go, an associate was to “personally oversee” the delivery process. We agreed to have the piece delivered on Saturday, 12/1 so that we didn’t have to take off work (again). We never received a call for the delivery and spent 36 minutes on the phone with customer care. They did not have the delivery or the piece and now they can’t deliver it until 12/8. They only want to offer $100 off. This is the worst customer service we’ve ever experienced. They don’t care about their customers or having a good experience. It's hard to find the words to describe my displeasure with the Cheektowaga VCF location. I picked a sectional and asked the sales rep (Judy) that I was working with if the sectional and ottoman I was looking to buy would be available in the near future. She checked her tablet and let me know that both pieces are available for delivery on the upcoming Tuesday. I signed up for their credit card to pay for my purchases and asked her to confirm delivery before she submitted my request, she stated everything will be delivered on Tuesday as discussed.

Judy then processed the payment and once it went through stated Tuesday isn't available but the following Thursday is - ok no big deal. She then stated that the couch will be delivered on Thursday but the ottoman isn't going to be available until December. I'm sorry, WHAT? You couldn't tell me this information when I asked you about it twice before submitting the purchase? She went on to state that I would not incur an extra delivery fee for the separate delivery. If that is Value City's way of rectifying the situation then you need to train your reps better. It seems as if they would do anything to make a sale happen regardless of customer aggravation. Thanks for helping me make up my mind of staying away from this company for any future purchases.

Overall I’m so highly disappointed in my overall experience ever with a store. I purchased a couch from them less than a year ago. It started with delivery. I paid in full at the store and the delivery didn’t happen for OVER A MONTH. They couldn’t redirect the routes to help in assisting with my work schedule. So they kept cancelling and rescheduling on me. It happened at least three times. Next going to the store talking with a representative in customer service was below average but still It accomplished putting in a request to evaluate my couch under its warranty.

So lastly just this week, I called customer service again to reschedule an appt but we needed to have a shorter time frame because each day I do have work and school. She tells me they can’t do that. You can only schedule a day. This means on the day of the appt they can come anytime from start of business to close. A timeframe of 8am-5pm. How is that going to work for ANYONE? I live alone so it’s only myself so I can’t waste away a day waiting around for them to come look at It. The couch needs an evaluation because less than a year it’s already so indented you can visually see the dip in and It makes It so uncomfortable. No couch should have this drastic of an indentation from normal use. I’m so pissed and disappointed. I would NEVER recommend this store to anyone. If I couldn’t give it any stars at all I would.

Afterwards I witness some seams coming loose on the sectional. Then one of the sofa legs comes completely OFF - from my initial inspection, it was cause by a 'rotten frame'. I immediately called the store location, and was referred to the warranty company. I called the warranty company who after 2 weeks sent a technician out for an inspection. The tech was late but eventually showed up. Took a 5 minute inspection and on his way out told me someone would reach out. The 'reach out' was a DENIAL OF WARRANTY.

They claimed the rotten frame was my fault, wth?!! I put in an Appeal - DENIED also. But this time the DENIAL took almost an Additional MONTH to get sent out. The manager tells me there, “We don’t do that anymore.” I told the manager, “You gotta warranty the mattress I have.” He tells me, “We don’t do that anymore.” I told him, “You may not do that now but at the time I bought the mattress that was the promotion I got.” So the ** tells me, “Will give your money back on credit for the mattress you bought.” I said, “OK that’s how you do business. Give me my money back and I’ll go someplace else.” “Oh no. Will give you your credit in the store. Otherwise you don’t get nothing.” So I figure I better go in there and get the mattress otherwise I’d lose my $1100. Should know I go in there cost me $1400 more for the same mattress that I had that went bad now. He tells me the mattress is $2700.

He says, “You got to pay more money for the box springs now" for the same mattress that I bought there and paid more money for you get the box springs for the same mattress for Nas than when you buy the mattress at Ashley‘s. I will do all my shopping at Ashley‘s. They are honest and fair. Not a bunch of crooks like Value City. They’ll make you the price and say it’s warranty for 10 years but they don’t tell you they’re going to give you less than what you had. The manager there is a crock, a liar and a thief. Watch when you shop there. Beware. They're crooks. So now I have a new mattress over $2500 that’s the last of the money that I’m crooks will ever see from me. The best part is I bought a lot of stuff there and spent a lot of money and trusted them. So let everybody know what liars they are and Crook.

I purchased my sectional sofa from Value City Furniture in Jan. 2017. By the time I paid it off in full (six months after the purchase date) it was already falling apart. The fabric is coming off in strips as if the material wasn't reinforced a bit. It is happening in all areas of the couch but, predominately on my Chase and Cuddler. My cushions also began to sag almost immediately.

I wasn't expecting a couch that was perfect as the price ($1,500) usually reflects the quality. But, this was literally like throwing my money out the window. I would have preferred to buy something used then to have spent that much money on something that looks like it's been used for years by someone with pets and kids. I'm truly disappointed and will NEVER give this company another dime of my money. It is such a waste! I recommend you go elsewhere and do your research on what you're getting. I SO wish I had researched reviews for the quality of their furniture. The majority of them are disappointing.

When I called again and explained my issues, my call forwarded to someone else then I have explained again then again forwarded to someone else and she putted me on hold for 15 min and finally talked to me and gave me one more date for fixing issues and getting my full order delivered. Value City Furniture in Amherst NY: I purchased a captain's bed with 3 drawers and a trundle. The bed itself is wonderful, but Value City's customer service is horrible. One of the drawers was busted, and in a way I could not repair. By way of online chat, I was told I'd have to completely dismantle the bed, bring it back to the store (I hired someone to pick it up for me--more money to return it), get a replacement bed, and have to put the whole thing back together again. I've contacted them again, and just got ignored.

Horrible customer service for ignoring the customer, and for apparently having a return policy that incurs the maximum amount of inconvenience to the customer. What should have been done from day one is that I should have brought the broken drawer back the store and been provided with a replacement drawer. I won't be shopping with this franchise again. It's always more expensive to lose a customer.

I purchased a reclining sectional in December 2014 along with the Pure Promise warranty. The pull handle that operates the recliner on the loveseat has broken FOUR times since then. It has been fixed three previous times and I informed Furniture Solutions (warranty company) that I need a permanent solution because the wire that holds the pull is thin and ineffective. Each time they just put a new handle on the same old wire. The last break was a few weeks ago. The warranty company sent a technician out and he did not have the correct part because he was sent the wrong picture of the part. They ask for pictures of the problem. He said he would order the part and they would call to schedule another appointment. They did not call and when I reached out to them, they said it would be eight to 12 weeks for the part. They stated that it would be shipped directly to me and then I need to call to schedule a technician. Not acceptable!

Furniture Solutions would not budge on escalating. I called Value City corporate office and explained that they need to stand behind their products and replace the love seat. They refused. I spoke to Manager Larry at the North Olmsted store where I purchased the sectional, explaining again that they need to stand behind their furniture. Larry, like corporate, claims his hands are tied. I do not want the same furniture. I told him I would take any love seat, one on clearance would be fine. He refused. I told him about a dining set with four chairs that I purchased prior to the sectional. All the screws in all the chair constantly fall out. The quality of their furniture is bad and as far as them standing by their furniture, non-existent. Sad. Will never purchase from them again. I foresee this love seat on the curb this December once the warranty expires.

All of the pillows around the couch have ripped apart at the seams and the stuffing if you could call it that is coming out. It will be your biggest regret in life to get furniture from this horrible place. You're better off buying Walmart furniture, because at least you're getting it at Walmart prices instead of the insane amount of money we spent on this. It's an embarrassment to have in our home and I can't wait to throw it out on the curb, where I assure you it will remain because no one wants anything that is this low quality, even if it's free.

He informed me and my wife that he needed to order a replacement leg. He also mentioned that it may take up to sixty days to arrive. OK, in mid-March I called to get a status of the leg replacement and was informed that someone on the Value City side dropped the 'ball' and the replacement leg was not ordered.

I was assured they would rush the order and get the leg by late March. OK, late March arrived and I was told that the leg never arrived and they would have to put another leg on order. But this time a manager would follow this until completion. April came and no call from the manager or Value City. After I made numerous calls and finally reaching another manager I was told that they would take the leg from one of the full tables and install it on my table. Now it is late April (six months later) and I am still waiting on a replacement leg to a kitchen table that we cannot use in fear it will fall and hurt someone. They immediately denied coverage on my sectional couch. When we were moving we discovered the structural damage (this is supposed to be covered) and called on the warranty before even moving the couch. They said it would take a couple weeks for them to send a tech, we still had to move though so we took the couch in a Uhaul to our new home. Tech finally shows up and determines its transit damage despite us calling before we moved and them being unable to send a tech sooner (and they were told that we were moving).

We filed a dispute and they just told us transit damage wasn't covered. Now I'm going to stop here and drop the fact that it wasn't transited until AFTER the damage was noticed and called in and focus on the fact that when I bought this warranty from Michael ** at the VCF on Utica, I was told that literally anything that happened to my couch would be covered. This is a lie apparently because transit damage isn't covered and apparently they can and will just decide that any damage done can be whatever they don't cover. It's ridiculous. And a complete waste of money. I will never purchase from another lying VCF or get a warranty through pure promise. Not to mention the couch didn't even last a year and a half.

Try to make a claim with Pure Promise Warranty that I purchased through Value City Furniture. It's supposed to be a five year warranty. I only had the chair for 3 years. The material failed and came apart. When I tried to make a claim they told me that the material bubbled and cracked and that was not covered under the warranty although if I would have taken a knife and accidentally cut the back cushion then they would have covered the damage. So in other words if you vandalize and destroy your own furniture the warranty will cover it but just damage that occurs due to poor quality material they will not cover. So my advice to anyone that purchases this warranty make sure that your pet chews up the furniture or just take a knife to it and cut it up yourself.

That way your warranty will cover the damage because if you don't vandalize it yourself they will not cover it. They only cover vandalism. The better advice is just keep your money and don't waste your time or your money on the pure promise five-year worry-free warranty because you will be worried whether or not they're going to cover the damage and trust me what they do best is break their promise. Show me very much advised the Pure Promise Warranty is a fraud and a scam.

The manager has not called to check and make sure it went okay or to offer an apology. I would've thought SOME type of effort would have been made on their end to make things right. It's sad because I am a longstanding customer of Value City, as is the rest of my family, because of it's location and affordability. Never again. A person sleeping on the floor shouldn't be given 4 delivery dates and wait a month with no apology or attempt to make things right. Never EVER again. Repaired myself and that's how I found out that the materials used to make the furniture is the absolute cheapest materials used. Particle board and staples. Junk!!!

I just reported this to their corporate office and regional manager due to the experience. When you call they immediately place you on hold sometimes not even saying "hello" first and when they do answer they provide zero assistance. This includes their managers who also don't bother to return calls or follow up with you. I received defective furniture upon delivery and not once has the store called to inquire with me regarding the issue or apologize about the inconvenience. Their delivery team is just as bad as they don't show when they tell you they will. The furniture was delivered with dark smudges on it after they set it up and the bedroom set is white. I'm praying after reading all of the reviews that we aren't going to be dealing with it breaking in the near future due to poor quality. I regret going to Value City Furniture now.

For over the last year with VCF, my experience with the company has been HORRIBLE...to say the least. Last year my husband and I both purchased a black leather sofa, in which it came in a set...two weeks later we decided to go back and purchased the matching love seat. We stop to speak to the salesperson, and was quickly advised that love seat had been discontinued. So I asked why we were not informed about the discontinuation of that love seat. The salesperson could not give us an legitimate answer for it but only an excuse to state this to us... "We didn't know it and the manufacturer didn't inform us until yesterday." I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!

I've had nothing but problem after problems with VCF from the poor and inferior quality of the furniture to the classic poor customer service. Since then I've purchased several other furniture pieces from VCF including a dinette that I had to take it back after only having it for about two weeks because it developed a bubble on the back-side of the chair. I only had the chair for about two weeks and this major defect happened to it in just two weeks. I just figured it out. That store is located in the HOOD where it caters to the lower class of people, therefore you will get for what you pay for and the service that is provided in that area. I will NEVER - EVER!!! Purchased anything from VCF. I will take my business back to iStyle Furniture Store on Northfield Road in Warrenville Heights, OH, where the service is very professional and hands-on engaging with their customers.

Needless to say he urinated on the sides of couch. Called and asked to get it cleaned, had a service rep show up take pictures. Then never contact me again. I called. They said it looks like more than one time accident and they aren't responsible for negligence. I stated why it happened. They said not their problem. Ended up buying a rug and upholstery cleaner and doing it myself. Wasted 500 dollars on the warranty that is useless if they don't want to do it. Furniture is ok manufacture wise as it isn't made at VCF. But stay away from that warranty, unless you like giving money away.

He takes pictures and says someone would contact me. After a month of no contact, I called them. I was told someone would call me back. After another week, I call back and finally talk to the assistant manager who tells me the bed isn't going to be replaced because it was deemed customer abuse. When I asked how, she said it looks like bed was being jumped on. I told her my son is 19 years old and does not jump on the bed.

If she looks back in the notes, she can see this product has been replaced before. Not to mention, he is a college student, so he wasn't even home. Came home for Thanksgiving, sat on the bed, and it broke. Mind you, I'm dealing with Value City and not the warranty place because when I purchased all my other furniture (bed for myself and living room furniture) the warranty was put on everything but his bed. I was told I should have paid better attention. When I called to complain, they agreed to cover servicing it for the time it should have been under warranty.

Bought a $2200 sectional a couple of years ago when we lived in Ohio and have since moved to Arkansas. Because of the amount of the purchase we opted for the Uniters Pure 7 yr warranty. Two sections of the furniture started peeling so I called to report the problem. I've been told they can only offer a portion of the value based on when it was purchased, and as an in store credit. Oh and by the way, I would have to bring the furniture pieces back to the store. Since I do not live in a state where there is not store they were kind enough to offer a cash settlement of HALF of what the store credit would be, which comes to about 20% of what I originally paid...

So this doesn't sit well because the whole reason you purchase a warranty to cover manufacture defects and the peeling and cracking is CLEARLY a manufacturer's issue. And looking through Value City's reviews I am 100% positive this is a HUGE issue but they refuse as a company to take care of their customer. When you have a 1 star rating, that tells you all you need to know!!! I am the director of sales for a manufacturer of consumer products and extremely familiar with customer service and how important it is to take care of your customer. It's abundantly Value City has no clue where their revenue comes from. If they don't make a change soon they will be out of business in a few years. They are running customer away and there are plenty of other furniture retailers out there that provide a much better customer experience.

I contacted them to file a claim because of a stain and they sent someone out with a little green machine to clean the stain which I noticed did not come out until after it dried. I tried to call them the next day and a recording said to allow them 14 days to process the claim and contact me via phone or email. They did not contact me and because I work 12-16 hour days which do not revolve around the hours they are open for calls it took me about a month and a half to call back, I'm sure everyone can relate to time getting away from you.

I called and they denied a new claim because I waited too long to call back, basically saying I wasted my money on this warranty. It is a real shame that they cannot stand behind their "Promise" and honor a claim that should be valid since I paid the money for the warranty no matter how long it took me to call back. I am extremely disappointed and do not recommend anyone purchase this warranty, you could buy a little green machine To clean your own furniture since that is all they will do for you apparently. My wife and I decided to use my VA loan to purchase our first home this past April. We didn't want to bring our apartment furniture so we decided to go to Value City to purchase some nice living room furniture. We went to the value city store in Pineville North Carolina and found a beautiful faux leather sectional we loved and decided to purchase it for 2,400 dollars roughly. After delivering the furniture everything was fine until around July when we noticed one day, that the upholstery was bubbling and separating from the sofa in the wedge piece. We called Value City and they sent a technician out to look at the sofa the next weekend.

The technician came and took photos and told us someone should be getting with us to set up a repair or to replace it within the next few days. Two weeks went by and nothing so we called the store to inquire about the status and were told they would have someone from the service warehouse call us the next day. Of course no one calls us back so we called once again and asked could someone please let us know what we could do about the sofa. The manager we talked to said she was going to call the warehouse and asked to put me on hold.

After being on hold for 10 minutes the call disconnected and when we tried to call back no one would answer. I decided to give them a few days to see if someone was really going to call back and after a week nothing. After being treated this way I decided to call the corporate office to file a complaint. The gentleman I spoke to assured me this was not acceptable and stated that he would look into this and either the store manager or regional manager would get back to me in a reasonable amount of time.

It has now been two weeks and still we have been ignored. My wife and I work very hard for the things we have and the money we spent on that sofa didn't come easy for us with a new baby and a new home. We were treated with total disregard and disrespect by everyone involved with the exception of the technician who came to our home to look at the sofa whom was very nice and professional. This has been a very disheartening experience for us and I will never purchase another thing from Value City. I wouldn't want another hard working family to have to go through what we have. We spent a lot of money for what we thought was quality furniture and now have nothing to show for it. My wife and I both agree that even if they had told us they weren't going to cover the repair that it would have been better than being completely ignored.

Was told they going to call me when they have them ready for me to pick up, still not screws and no call. Just won't buy nothing from them again.

I ordered a bedroom set at the end of April or beginning of May 2017. Their computer wouldn't print out the documents, therefore I was informed someone will call me (have yet to receive that call). I received a letter stating my account was approved through Fortiva. I started making payments. My pickup date was 5/25/17. My husband went to pick up the merchandise, and he was told they never ordered it because I didn't sign the application. I went to the store, they told me the same thing, then they called Fortiva. Fortiva informed them that payments were made and why was the application sent if the customer never signed it. There was no explanation, no apology, NOTHING. She gave me my refund and told me Corporate would send the rest. Now that leaves my daughter without a graduation present. I'm really Surprised at VCF and let down.

Purchased what was described as leather sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman. I was highly recommended that I purchase the warranty and I did. I also used the protector on the chairs. When the chairs began to peel, I contacted the warranty company to find out my chairs were not leather. I then went back to the Value City store in Newport News, VA to be told there was nothing they could do. My next complaint was a refund of my funds for the warranty that was not applicable to my purchase and I conceded. My once beautiful chairs are truly embarrassing.

I contacted Value City Furniture for a refund, and instead they tried to send me a duplicate replacement sofa. After refusing the duplicate replacement sofa, and returning the original sofa to Value City Furniture, I have been trying to get a refund on my Discover card but almost $3000. They promise us the furniture we were purchasing would hook together (5 pieces, 3 for sofa and 2 for love seat) After waiting almost 3 months to receive the furniture paces and multiple trips to the store after receiving a call saying our order was in (which it was still on back order and not there), phone calls, and then doesn't fit together! Leave work to meet their guy who can't fix it at my home. Wait for Mike the manager to call me (never received a call). I call and he tells me he will call me the next day. (No call) A week+ later still no call (today 5/4/17). I call. Mike gives me multiple excuses about how their delivery truck is down. (Not my problem and don't know what that had to do with my furniture not hooking together) Mike says he will call me in two hours with a solution. (Never called. I waited an additional 30 min) I call corporate who directs me right back to him.

Mike informs me to come in to find something that will work and BOOM here comes the **! He wants me to give him an additional $700+! Then Mike treated me like I was trying to get over on him! I would have been content had they given me pieces that had fit together like promised! Absolutely unprofessional! Mike should not be in management he has no customer service whatsoever! Never have I ever been treated so badly for something that was not my fault!

Purchased a leather sectional for $3200 then paid 495 for the extended warranty. The framing over the past few months had failed in the back parts of the recliner. Their remedy is to fix or replace. Their idea of fixing is to take a pry bar and bend the weak frame into place, however the framing that was failing was wood and is busted. They closed the repair out as fixed!!

I called back in to them to let them know nothing was fixed and that we were getting ready to move in a week. They said they'd get someone on it in a rush. The night before we move nothing was done and they won't look at it while it is in storage. Again, they said they try to fix it and may have to wait on parts which could take up to 2wks after looked at for the second time. Buyer beware!! This warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. Not to mention the quality of Value City is total junk!! And to think that I was told the whole frame was steel! Not!! I had offered to send them pics, but they refused. That wasn't good enough.

Since they said they could deliver my sofa so fast I paid the $90 delivery fee instead of getting a friend to pick it up in their truck. I also paid a $40 fee to pay it in installments after I was told there were no hidden costs to do so. That was a month ago, I have been told twice that my sofa was being delivered and yet no one shows up?? I've missed work and lost income, much needed income, waiting for this sofa. The mgr. at the store is always too busy to get on the phone when I call and the delivery mtg. just keeps lying to me about when the sofa is coming and why yet again, it isn't delivered again. Never buy anything from this store, it's a waste of money because you never get your furniture and now I'm out over $500 for a sofa that cost $350.

I reported this to them but was reminded that the purchase was as is, 3700 dollars later one part of the sectional is completely peeled, and I am very embarrassed when I have company, and I am now unemployed. They did assure me that this sectional was genuine leather. Something should be done about these people for defrauding people out of their hard-earned money. When I got in to my vehicle, I took a moment to review my receipt. I noticed that I was overcharged for the furniture $699.99. I went back in and notified them, and they were friendly enough and processed my refund that came to me in three days. Fast forward nine days to delivery day of my furniture: the delivery guys showed up with only my sofa!! They called the office and the office told them to let me know that they would deliver the other piece on the following day!

I was very upset due to the fact that this company had over a week to get my order together, which didn't happen; secondly, the company didn't even have the common courtesy to give me a call to let me know that they didn't have my piece of furniture. Thirdly, after I called them, the only thing that was offered was that I could take the sofa, take delivery of the loveseat of the following day, and a partial refund on the delivery. UNACCEPTABLE!! This is bad business, and now that I have read Consumer Affairs, I'm really wishing I had taken my business elsewhere. There aren't too many good reviews on the list...

Not even the price of the mattress so I called to inquire about my refund and they said it was because my purchase no longer qualify for free delivery and that they were charging me $119.99 to deliver my items. I think this is very poor business. Very unsatisfied and things need to be reviewed because to me this is a rip-off. I don't even get the full purchase of the item I ordered so why should I have to pay their price that they have on their sticker? I should be able to choose the price I want to pay if they can choose the refund they want to pay.

I went to buy some furniture (lamps, nightstands, bed frames, dresser, chest) from Value City, Glen Burnie, MD on Feb 12, 2017. The order was supposed to be delivered on Friday, 2/17. On the delivery day, only lamps show up, and that too a defective one. I had talked with both the store and delivery center but couldn't figure out what was wrong. They said they were working on the delivery and asked me to wait the whole day. That evening, they changed plan and switched delivery date to next Tuesday.

After many phone calls, they agreed to deliver it on Saturday. But guess what, they brought some defective furniture. We had to reschedule delivery on the next Monday. They didn't show up and changed the date to Wednesday. They called to confirm the delivery a day before, but on the delivery date, they did not show up. Neither did they bother to let us know. I took a leave at my work and stayed at home waiting for them. I looked online to track my order, and they had switched the delivery date to next Friday. I called them and they were not at all supportive.

When I was talking to them, they again postponed the delivery date to next Saturday. They say they can do nothing to deliver our furniture. They had even confirmed that they will definitely deliver and did not bother to let us know that their plans changed. Now they say, they do not have furniture at their store at all. They made me take a leave on Friday, the 17th and today, Wednesday. They don't even bother to compensate. Previously, we had faced the same issue, but we just ignored their carelessness. But, since they repeated the problem, I couldn't stop myself from writing a review for this terrible company. And when you talk to them on phone, they are rude. The customer service provided by this "Value City Furniture" is the worst I have ever faced.

The warranty is designed to deny your claim from the onset. Our sales rep misrepresented it in every way and convinced us to purchase. From the moment you call them with a claim, they start the process of disclaiming and finding ways to void it. The warranty is specifically designed for this purpose. In our case, the pet stain was removed, but the odor still existed. Guess what? The warranty only covers the stain - what? It's a pet accident and they know it. Don't let the salesman tell you - "pet accidents are covered". Wrong. Second, our couch began to sink in the middle. The warranty is designed so that if the "sinking" didn't occur from a single event (read the warranty), then you didn't report it timely, so they are not responsible? So I have to drop a piano on it all at once and be sure to call within 15 days to get you to cover a very poorly made product that you promised to cover? It's a scam. Deny, Deny, Deny. That's the policy.

Value City and acceptance now are ripoffs. I had purchased in cash a sofa. Within 60 days the thread started to unloosen. In addition, I had financed a bed, mattress for myself and bed and mattress for my child. Upon delivery I was not totally satisfied of the quality of the furniture. It DID not look exactly as in the showroom, however, it looked nice in my home. As days went along, I saw my daughter's bed was ripped; couch thread is coming a loose and my king mattress thread is unraveling around the perimeter of the mattress. Called value city a couple of weeks ago to complain, they sent a technician out and he agreed the furniture is not in great shape and he had received several complaints from other customers regarding the quality of my furniture and it needs to be replaced/Repaired. The tech informed me value city will call me in a few days with instructions.

I should mention, the location is located in falls church, va. I specifically picked this location because I felt I would have a great customer service experience, boy was I wrong. This place preys on people looking to finance so they can rip them off. "Maha" from their customer service department called me and advise I can come pick out a new couch, my daughter's bed rails were ordered for replacement, however, they cannot replace the 60 days old mattress. I was instructed to cut the thread around the mattress.

At this time, I am concerned of their customer service abilities and how they do not strive to keep customers happy. I am not cutting any thread from a brand new mattress, literally threads were coming out the entire perimeter and tip of the mattress and I do not have time to cut nor want to, which could lead to other issues such as holes and tears. Maha told me she would give me a discount. No I want the new mattress, I had ordered, not a discount. I had asked for the manager, he came over to introduce himself, listened to my concerned, then pulled by another customer. He never came back and left me standing there for 45 minutes.

I went to the acceptance now office and spoke to emily and she informed me she would inquire that I can return the mattress with them; she got back with me the next day and told me her manager "porsha" said I cannot return the mattress only, I need to return my entire order, I found this unheard of and asked to speak with the district manager chris **. Chris called me back after several days later to tell me acceptance now has nothing to do with the quality or warranty of the furniture to go back to value city to demand help.

As of now no help or resolution has taken place after 3 weeks of going back and forth with no results and I owe acceptance now a payment for furniture I am not happy with. I am reaching out for legal advice. Acceptance now has these crazy terms. If you are a day late, a late fee with be charged. They have me at their mercy and they are not willing to help. I DID not want to return my entire order but obviously considering it, however, my daughter will be disappointed. Acceptance now and value city need to be shut down, they prey on disadvantage customers and consumers have rights.
