Customer service was great up until we received the garbage they call furniture. They told me it would be covered under warranty and had nothing but issues. We returned on set and got a new car me to be told they will not do that again. The new one had issues also, tried to use the warranty on it to reclining part of the chairs and kept being hot with issue after issue to only be told out claim aged out. Get better furniture from other places.

I am in a wheelchair & my husband was having surgery. The recliners at our house were manual & I wanted to find a recliner that was powered so it would be easier for him to operate. Because I couldn't drive, I called Elizabeth at our local store & she handled my purchase over the phone! I was able to see what I ordered, view the receipt, sign for the purchase.

Unfortunately, the day it was to be delivered, someone called & said my chair had not arrived with the deliveries from the warehouse. It would be next week before it would come. I was so upset because my husband was coming home the next day from hip replacement surgery. I thought he would have to lay in the manual recliner & I was worried he would hurt himself using his legs to push the foot rest down.

Enter Karen, one of the store's managers. I don't know what magic she worked but she found a chair & got it delivered the next day so it was waiting for my husband when my daughter brought him home from surgery! My husband loved the chair & was so grateful for the power recline. The visiting therapists commented on how nice it looked & that it was good for him to have it. We are so grateful to Value City & to Karen & Elizabeth who went above & beyond the call of duty to make sure we got what we wanted & had it when we needed. THANK YOU!

First of all we waited almost 3 months for Value City to complete our order. We only received 2 out of 3 pieces of our sectional couch to begin with. Now all the features are coming out of the cushions and poking through the cushion covers. The material is like a magnet for pet hair, you can’t remove it with a lint roller or vacuum. When we tried utilizing the warranty we purchased and they told us they didn’t manufacture the piece so they weren’t responsible for it. Almost every part of this deal was bad. Not to mention we way overpaid for this complete piece of crap!

This furniture has been a nightmare. Promised my furniture in 2 weeks by salesman, turned in to over 2 months. A section was damaged, repairman came out, couldn’t fix, needed to be replaced, replacement came after waiting for them to find one delivered wrong piece. Was called and told they were looking for a replacement. This was in November 2024, finally delivered July 3, 2025. Found 2 cigarette lighters in the wiring compartment where the dust cover was not tacked, like someone pulled it apart. Customer service rep insisted that I was lying because it was new furniture from the factory and they don’t deliver used furniture. LIARS.

My sister purchased furniture and it smelled strong of cigarette smoke and they had to replace it all SO who was smoking in the warehouse, everyone all day? Some reps were ok but I refuse to be insulted again from corporate. The worst thing is the piece delivered on the 3 had ants in it don’t sit on the furniture only when company and surprise ants on the piece delivered. I AM SO DONE. If Value City brings furniture in your home, have them turn it upside down and inspect it thoroughly, especially if it is dark furniture like mine. Better yet, go somewhere else. I wish I had.

I would NEVER recommend this company to my worst enemies! I don’t have enough time to state every issue I have had, but It was nothing but problems and ZERO communication! My biggest issue was the delivery driver telling me to open my door because they can hear voices in my house, he has a ton of deliveries and doesn’t have time for this. Mind you they showed up at my house 1:30pm when my window was 3:00-7:00pm. Told him over the phone to get off my property because I was not home. Then he came back at 3 after they told me they canceled my delivery after that guy had words with my neighbor. I am now 10 weeks out from when I ordered, I do not have one piece of furniture in my house. Excuse they have is that it is a “new” warehouse and they have nothing but issues. So a corporate company knows they have issues, says it to the customers and still does nothing about it. This is why corporations are HORRIBLE!!!

We ordered a dining set and buffet that was to be delivered in April. We received the table but the chairs and buffet were on back order and would be delivered a month later. It is now the end of June and the delivery date keeps getting pushed back. Now we are looking at August. I called corporate and the person I talked to actually laughed at me when I said I will be returning the table if they continue delaying my order. We have been very patient with the whole process until my conversation with this rude and unhelpful person from the corporate office. I will never do business with VCF again.

Unfortunately, we didn't experience superior service. We pre ordered some leather hartley sectional pieces from Dylan at Eastgate. As part of the deal we struck with him was to have the other couch picked up that was just delivered by them as it clearly wasn't as advertised. I had to call next next day and spoke with Yvonne to arrange the pickup and finalize the new purchase, I spent over 3 hours making phone calls to her trying to make sure she was taking care of business for us. She's very slow and said she was the only one there today and had a lot to do that day. Well, I'm the one who actually had to make the calls and take care of it because every time I'd call back, she acted confused and wasn't on it.

Several days later, I called Kyle, the assistant manager, and he had to call Springdale to set up the return because she didn't set it up nor follow up like she said she would. A couple of days later, on delivery day, the delivery teams show up and begin to physically roll our 3 boxes through the wet grass and down the driveway, and walkways end over end. In shock, luckily, I had taken a video of this. Boxes were destroyed by the time they made it to our door. I'm pretty skinny myself as I have lymphoma but I had to help one of the guys bring in the last box a few more feet into our home as the other driver quit, gave up and walked off.

We had some real damage to the frames. In addition the walls in the hallway were damaged by the delivery helper guy tossing the returned couch down the stairs. The head driver admitted his helper had a "bad attitude" and didn't want to help. I sent in the video and photos to Eastgate and Springdale stores to let them know what happened. The Eastgate manager lady reviewed the video evidence and called me back. She wanted to set up a whole new delivery. I said let's hold off until I can inspect everything. She said she would have a sit down meeting with her staff and discuss my particulars, the unacceptable tossing of 3 couch boxes down our driveway, the damage to our walls and bent frames with them and call me back the following day with a resolution and or compensation to satisfy us 100 percent.

So far, we've never heard back from anyone at Eastgate! Our salesman never followed up since we last saw him in the showroom either. He never even shook our hands after completing the sale. I had to walk back over to him and extend my hand and say thanks. This has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I can not recommend this establishment based upon our experience. Thanks.

Purchased 2 floor models from the CLEARANCE section of the store. Both pieces had expected minor defects but easily overlooked. Received excellent services and prices marked way down for buying demos. Arranged for delivery but had to wait 10-days for delivery. Received updates via email but on the date of delivery, I took the day off from work and nothing was delivered. When I called the store, I was initially told that my items "did not arrive with the shipment". Sounded very much like a standard "go-to" response. When I explained that the items were clearance models that were currently on the showroom floor I was then put on a very long hold, and finally, the operator came back and told me that the items had not been picked up for delivery that morning.

When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that she would "see if the manager wanted to talk to me", which I thought was a rather unusual and rude response. When the manager got on the line, he was very apologetic for the situation and explained that the shipping department had failed to load this furniture on the delivery truck that morning but he was unsure, why that occurred. He offered to look into the situation and said that he would be in the store in the morning and would give me a call to arrange another delivery date when I asked if the delivery date would be tomorrow. He was unable to provide that. I didn't answer at all. Needless to say after 10-days of waiting, I am less than happy with the follow-up of this particular store. It seems that they are quick to make the sale but rather slow to follow up on anything else with the same degree of service.

Horrible experience. I purchased a lot of furniture from there. Still waiting for delivery of my bed. Long story. But as you can see Value City has left is first to sleep in our old mattress on the floor, (we took our bed apart because we thought they were delivering). Needless to say, after 2 wasted days off a canceled very important eye de appointment. (I'm a glaucoma patient.) 2 times they were supposed to deliver and didn't, on the third time they bring everything but the bed. But they got a new delivery system. (So that's my problem). I spent a decent amount of money there in the last month. Purchased a dining room set also. I have gotten nothing but sorry its this new delivery system. You think that is going to make me come back again. I'm so aggravated, and about to cancel. And not pay them for anything.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin. If there was a way to give them a negative star rating, I would in a heartbeat. This has been the absolute worst experience of my life—completely unprofessional, disgraceful, and utterly unacceptable. We invested a significant amount of money in high-end furniture—dining table, sofa set, side tables, center tables, and more—hoping for a smooth and respectable service. We placed our order on 24th March with a promised delivery date of 24th April. We were patient and understanding, but what happened on the delivery day was a nightmare. They showed up with just one piece of furniture and had the nerve to tell us the rest would arrive only on 30th May—an entire month later! The sheer audacity and lack of responsibility are mind-boggling.

And if that wasn’t enough, when we checked the status on 29th May, we found out the entire delivery is now delayed until 25th June—without a single update or apology. Their complete disregard for customer trust, their blatant disrespect, and their utter failure to communicate are beyond disgusting. This company is a joke—an unprofessional, unreliable, and shamelessly irresponsible disgrace. I am beyond disappointed, frustrated, and furious. Let me make this crystal clear: **Do NOT** waste your time, money, or patience on these people. They will only leave you disappointed, frustrated, and completely disillusioned. Stay far away—save yourself from the frustration and heartbreak.

JUST DONT BUY FROM VCF!! This has to be the worst experience! We've been waiting 6 months for replacement furniture. Very expensive furniture, may I add, that we've been paying on for 6 months now! Original salesperson Anna ** sold us the sectional on 11.30.24. Delivery was about 1 weeks out. Sectional arrived with damage. We complained about the damage and sent Greg **, Store Manager, pictures via text. He then, via text promised to replace the whole 7 piece set rather than just the damaged pieces. Greg, via text, explained that way the furniture wears evenly.

Initially, Greg was very helpful. We quickly discovered that the store and the delivery company DO NOT communicate. No one at the store ever answers the phone and we do not have or have ever had a direct number to the delivery company. We have now had 7 failed deliveries, 7 days missed from work and 7 times we were told to refuse the delivery because it's 7 times where they bring partial replacements and not the whole sectional.

Greg Initially claimed to correct the issue but failed each time. As our frustrations grew Greg began to communicate less and refused to give us discounts to offset the payments we were making on this damaged set. We attempted to reach corporate with no response back. We told Greg ** that we reached out to corporate and at that point he stopped responding to our calls and texts. We have been told that giving out regional manger names/numbers is prohibited. On the final delivery attempt, 2 pieces were to arrive, the delivery men complained to Salesman Amir, due to concerns that the delivery was incomplete. Amir is now the only one who responds to our concerns, understands our frustration and is trying to correct the issue going above and beyond. Amir has expressed fear of losing his job since the floor manager threatens him when he states he is trying to help customers.

We are stuck with damaged goods, a store manager that won't assist anymore, prohibited in contacting corporate, sales team that fear losing their jobs, loss of wages and a company that is completely unresponsive. STAY AWAY FROM VALUE CITY FURNITURE! They want that commission and then could care less about customer satisfaction. We are appalled at this service. We have a sectional we are dissatisfied with and a hefty monthly payment.

Made a purchase in your Waldorf, MD store. I was provided with an actual delivery date, May 10th; to find out on the day of delivery, they did not have all my items, and my delivery was cancelled with no calls or explanation provided over the phone. I arrived at the store and requested to speak with the Store Manager (Sarah). Sarah came from her office after me waiting for several minutes, with an arrogant attitude. I explained to Sarah what had taken place but, from my understanding she was already aware. She explained to me that my delivery date was not official anyways and I will now have to wait until July for my entire order to be available for delivery.

I asked her why I was provided with an actual delivery date at the time of purchase and why wasn't I notified of the missing items before the delivery and she stated, "I'm not sure but, nobody should have given you no specific delivery date." As I am explaining to her that this is an urgent matter, she continued to be rude and shut down all my request and options. She continued to state, "I can't promise you another date even if you do purchase other items that are in stock." She continued to state, "I don't know what to tell you." As a manager, she should have had more information to provide on the management level and could have offered me an apology first and foremost. I then asked for a refund. She then proceeds to not want to explain how the refund will be processed back to my credit card.

I'm an elder woman (senior over 70), my daughter was there to assist with the matter and Sarah was rude to her the entire time. Every time my daughter would chime to ask a question, Sarah would cut her off and say, "I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to her (referencing me)." My daughter even tried to explain my credit receipt to me and Sarah snatched it out her hand and stated, "This is not yours, this is hers (referencing me)." She continued to be arrogant and rude the entire time to me and my daughter. This is the worst experience I have ever had while purchasing furniture. I'm giving two stars because the salesperson was very helpful and apologetic for the experience I had at the end. He's also a good salesperson even though Sarah tried to place blame on him as much as she could.

We ordered furniture from Value City on 4/22/25. At the time of purchase, we were asked when we would like delivery. We chose 5/7/25 because we knew we would be out of town, with no access to phone or email. We arrived home late on 5/5/25 to a voicemail stating our order for delivery was cancelled because we "didn't confirm our delivery date". There is nothing on the receipt stating this, nor in their terms on the back of the receipt. We attempted to contact customer service, and received none. The time to wait on hold is a minimum of 30-40 minutes. After a while, you can leave your phone number for them to call you back. 24 hours later, still no phone call.

Then we went back to the store, where they stated "you were told at time of purchase they would call to confirm". Both my wife and I were there and neither of us heard this comment. Why isn't this in writing anywhere!!!! We were treated as the bad guys because we were upset. Absolutely NO customer service. Good luck with getting any satisfaction from Value City Furniture. We were told at the store that our delivery was rescheduled for 5/20/25. How about that! The store knows, but nobody told us, the customer, of the new delivery date. Stayed tuned people. This was by far the worst experience I have ever faced when it came to furniture shopping. I went into the Newport News, Virginia location with the expectation of purchasing a living room and bedroom set for my new home. Upon arrival, I was met by a salesman named Patrick. He was attentive in assisting me with applying for leasing so that we could determine my budget. That process went smoothly, and we began looking for furniture within my price range. After about two hours, I found a bedroom set and a living room set that I absolutely loved.

I informed Patrick that I would be completing two separate transactions—my mom would be paying cash for some of the furniture, and I would put the remaining amount on lease. My mom was out of town at the time but told Patrick she’d return the next day to pay for the living room set. Everything seemed settled. However, when we returned the next day, I was informed that the ottoman from the living room set had been sold to someone else. I was told I could either purchase the remaining pieces or choose something else entirely. This was infuriating—especially because I had a printed receipt and had made it clear I’d be returning the next day. I had already browsed the store and knew there was nothing else I liked within my budget.

The manager then stepped in and instructed Patrick to contact other stores to locate the ottoman, because at first Patrick claimed it was discontinued. Eventually, they found one, and we moved on to scheduling the delivery. I made it very clear that I work weekdays and needed a Saturday delivery. Since my items were coming from two different locations, we agreed on April 19th, which gave me enough time to prepare my new home.

As the date approached, they attempted to schedule the delivery for April 15th—a weekday, which I had explicitly said would not work. When I called the store to correct this, the customer service representative hung up on me. I had no choice but to drive to the store in person. After multiple phone call attempts, that’s when the manager, Michael, told me—just two days before the expected delivery—that my furniture had ended up on the wrong truck and wouldn’t be delivered for another month.

The amount of phone calls back and forth was completely unacceptable. With every call, there was always another delay or problem, and no real accountability. When I finally went to the store after being hung up on, Michael assured me in person—around April 10th—that everything would be handled. He described the situation as a "code red" and said that if he had to use a third-party company to ensure delivery, he would. But it became clear that this promise was not about fixing the issue—it was simply to avoid having to issue me a refund and to ensure Patrick didn’t lose his commission. Despite this assurance, two days later I received a call informing me that my furniture had been placed on the wrong truck going in the wrong direction, and the next available delivery date would be closer to May.

I asked if I could just have the floor model since I had already paid and waited. Patrick then informed me that he sold the floor model to someone else. I found this completely unacceptable—I had made my purchase a month prior and should have been the priority. Instead, they tried to push me into choosing from four alternative sets, none of which I liked. They even called another customer to ask if they’d be willing to choose something else so I could have the set I originally picked. As compensation for the hassle, I was told I would receive half off my bedroom dresser and mirror. I have since received the items—but I have not received the promised compensation.

On delivery day, I was given a time window of 10 AM to 1 PM. The first truck arrived with only my bed, mattress, and bunkie board—no dresser, no mirror, and of course, no living room set. I called Patrick, who told me the rest would be delivered by another company and gave me their contact info. I called, and they told me the window was 12 PM to 6 PM. They didn’t show up until exactly 6 PM.

What happened next was the most disrespectful and stress-inducing part of the entire ordeal. The delivery men struggled to get the couch into my apartment, and I suggested a simple solution: ask my neighbor to open her door to give them extra clearance. At first, they pushed back and insisted it couldn’t be done and threatened to just take the couch back to the store. I ended up knocking on my neighbor’s door myself and explaining the situation. Once she kindly opened her door, my neighbor, her mother, and I had to take the lead in figuring out how to maneuver the couch in.

Although the delivery men did eventually help us ladies move the furniture, it was clear through their body language and tone that they did not want to—they acted irritated, dismissive, and unwilling the entire time. One of them even called his boss to say it couldn’t be done, even as we were proving otherwise. Once inside, they set the couch up backward and gave me an attitude when I asked them to fix it. They also placed my dresser in the wrong location, despite my clear instructions. To make matters worse, one of the drivers then told me that the store staff had referred to me as “hell” behind my back. That level of disrespect is beyond unprofessional—it’s completely unacceptable. I was being labeled simply for refusing to accept poor service and for insisting on the treatment any paying customer deserves.

This entire experience has left me appalled, disrespected, disappointed, and beyond frustrated. I spent $2,900 in cash and another $2,100 on lease, and yet I was treated as if I was a burden for expecting things to go as promised. Even after my grandmother experienced a similarly bad situation—where they sold her layaway bedroom set to someone else—I gave this store a chance. That was clearly a mistake. Patrick may have done well during the sales process, but when it came to handling the business side, he was completely lost, needing constant help from his manager. I would absolutely not recommend this store to anyone. For the amount of money spent, this level of service is outrageous. At the very least, I deserve compensation for the unnecessary stress, disrespect, and time I lost throughout this ordeal.

Extremely disappointing experience with Value City Furniture - Argyle Village, a local franchise store for American Signature Furniture. Our initial delivery was canceled without any prior notice, despite confirming the date several days in advance. Reached out to corporate and they directed me back to store and to direct concerns up chain of command through regional manager before they would intervene or address the situation. In total, we experienced four delivery cancellations. Communication was absent at first and then poor and misguided or detached, with the delivery and sales departments shifting blame and advising us to disregard the official tracking information via web portal link provided on purchase receipt. At one point, the delivery operations manager proposed sourcing a missing item from another customer’s order, which raised serious ethical concerns.

Subsequent cancellations were allegedly attributed to DOT restrictions involving their third-party carrier, even though our delivery date had been pre-scheduled. The delivery store manager showed little empathy and offered repeated excuses rather than solutions. Despite multiple requests with both sales (Matthew T.) & delivery store manager (Lorin M.) to speak with regional manager (Jessica **), we received no call from her. Overall, the lack of accountability and customer service was unacceptable in regard to Value City Furniture - Argyle Village. It’s also clear that customer care and responsibility are not priorities for this American Signature Furniture company and what it represents.

I bought several pieces of furniture from Value City Furniture in December 2024, including two sofas, tables, and a dining set. They promised to deliver everything within two months, but after four months, only part of the order arrived — the two sofas were missing. Despite many phone calls and visits to the store, no one could explain what happened to the sofas. I was promised a $200 compensation and a refund for the missing items, but I received neither. This was the worst shopping experience I’ve ever had. The staff were unprofessional and disorganized. I do not recommend this store to anyone.

They refused to replace that section of the couch even though when I purchased the couch I was told that if the couch cannot be repaired, it will be replaced. When I tell you to avoid purchasing anything from this store, I mean every word of it. If I would have known what I know now, I would have never clicked the purchase button. Here is my horror story, filled with 100% truth. I found some chairs on the value city website that I absolutely loved around February 17th. I think it was a Presidents’ Day sale so I figured I better buy now than later. I made the purchase, and was told that they could not give me a delivery date but would contact me as soon as the products were available and read to be shipped. I said okay, that’s not a problem. Weeks went by and I heard nothing from VC. Remind you, VC had deducted the funds from my account so these clowns had the money, but did not send me my purchase or any notifications about my purchase. So before getting upset, I reached out to them to ask about my purchase.

Their chat function is just as horrible because they treat you less than like you have spent over $1,000 with them so when I asked them about my purchase, they told me they didn’t know much because it was a “direct ship” or something like that delivery and I would hear from the shipping company when the items are ready to ship. I was so confused but said okay. More weeks passed and still nothing. So I did some research and reached out to the shipping company myself and was told my items would arrive in 2 days. I was shocked because here it was I had to contact them and ask instead of them reaching out to me.

Fast forward, the items arrived and looked horrible. The legs to the chairs were discolored, looking as if someone spray painted some parts of the legs while leaving other parts undone. The chair had horrible scratches because they decided to send the chairs with their tags stapled on them, damaging the fabric, and the thread was coming apart. I was livid. So I contacted VC and was initially told someone would come out to inspect, but that then changed to the manufacturer stating they would give me an insulting refund to keep the chairs or I could return the chairs at my own expense AND pay a 15% restocking fee. So I have to not only purchase a U-Haul to give you back your damaged chairs with my own money but also pay a restocking fee for damages a YOU made???!

Makes 0 sense!!! So I had to pay $80+ to get a U-Haul to return their crappy furniture and got the restocking fee waived. I hope this company goes out of business and permanently closes because they do not deserve to sell anything to anyone! Their practices suck and they do not care about their customers at all. VC, count your days because they are surely numbered!

We only got partial delivery. The credit card I had with them has been closed for non use so would require me to apply all over again. (I just paid cash as they offered deal). Then they called to say the missing piece arrived when in reality it did not so no one showed up. All we got were excuses and had to go down in person and fuss so much before someone would take ownership of the problem.

The store blames distribution who blames the warehouse and so on. The sales lady we bought it from said this has become a common problem. I have never taken the time to write one of these before but it's clear to me we will never buy from them again. Quality and price ok but their service is awful and their delivery process is the absolute worst. There are so many other choices so go somewhere else. We certainly will.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Value City Furniture has been nothing short of frustrating due to their poor customer service, rude salespeople, and lack of accountability. We ordered a 6-piece sectional in early November, with a promised delivery date of January 4, 2025. Instead of delivering it all at once, they split it into three separate deliveries—an absolutely ridiculous and inconvenient process. The first delivery they only delivered one armchair recliner, the middle console, and an armless chair—not exactly what we expected when purchasing a full sectional.

Every time we called to inquire about the delays, sales staff either lied, avoided answering, or passed the responsibility to someone else. No one was willing to provide real answers. Today, after receiving notice of our final delivery, we called to confirm that the delivery driver would call ahead, and the salesperson we spoke to was incredibly rude and dismissive. He refused to give his name, and when he finally did, he slurred it so badly we couldn’t understand him (it seemed to start with a "J"). When my boyfriend explained our concern, the salesperson cut him off and said he was “done with the conversation.” This level of disrespect and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Value City Furniture clearly does not care about its customers. I highly recommend avoiding this store unless you enjoy terrible service, broken promises, and rude employees.

But you have to pick an answer but it's set to reject your claim. Stating the pure promise warranty doesn't cover for delivery or storage issues. He was also Great customer service representative who assisted and he also there was too much going back-and-forth so I want to cancel my order.

I just spoke with Sandy at the corporate office. She said, "Oh I have no problem canceling your warranty, but it won’t let me. You gotta call the store." Then she read the details and say after 30 days Out would only be prorated a discount. I feel like everything should be refunded except for the couch. I did keep the couch. I already paid 2800 on it. I pay right away, no problem. I paid before we got the merchandise so I would not recommend value city in Waldorf. Now I’m in the process of disputing these charges because I have a warranty that I do not need from them. Only reason why I kept the couch was because they were sending new pillows which I have not yet received, but I am disputing the charges for which they’re trying to tack on an extra Thousand and seven $ and seen that way so this is my review for you guys who want to go to value city. I could’ve been met with a warmer welcome at the Russian Kremlin in the middle of winter than at the Newport News Virginia VCF location! There wasn’t a single customer in the store and I can see why. January 3rd 2025, I walked in to shop for my new house and to pick up 2 chairs that I ordered online. I was rudely directed to the cashier by the saleswoman who didn’t even try to make a sale. So we headed to the cashier desk where we saw one woman behind the desk. She ignored us for a solid 5 minutes. She saw us. I know she did because she momentarily looked up from her Solitaire game on her computer and briefly made eye contact with me. She didn’t acknowledge us at all to say she would be with us shortly. No smile. No eagerness to help. Nothing. Then she was almost angry that we didn’t know the warehouse guy is gone for the day and he left at 2:30. I was originally told that I could pick up until 5:00. I showed up at 3:00.

This is my 2nd and only two in store experiences with VCF and both were less than one star. No more chances from me!!! So I took my new house furnishing budget up the street to Havertys. I purchased $3,500+ worth of furniture on 9/8 and opened a new VCF credit card to do so. Items included: a bed, 2 nightstands, a new table, table bench and 6 chairs. I was told by my wonderful Saleswoman that everything is backordered until 11/23. No big deal because it gave me time to remove the items out that they are replacing. I received a call the week before the 11/23 date to be informed that some items (Bed and nightstands) are not available until now 12/12. Again, no big deal, I am not desperately needing these items right away, just before Christmas so everyone has a place to sit.

So fast forward to 12/9, I was to receive a call to set up a delivery time for my 12/12 delivery based on their "5 star delivery checklist". After waiting on hold for over an hour, the operator could not help me and had to call the shipping store. They informed her that now the table and nightstands are not available until FEBRUARY 2025! (Note there is no mention of the bed.) And that they were going to wait to deliver all items based on me saying that I wanted all the items together. BUT NO ONE CALLED ME TO INFORM ME OF THIS NEW UPDATE, and it was not on any of my tracking information that’s provided.

After several more phone calls and emails and talking to 4 different people, none of them gave me the same answers as to what is actually being delivered. The night of 12/11, I received an email that ONLY 4 of the 6 chairs, and the table bench are being delivered!! What happened to the table that was available a month ago, that showed on my delivery email 2 days prior?! Was it given to someone else that wanted theirs sooner?! On the “track my order” it shows I’ll be getting the other 2 chairs in a week… but still no table, or bed, or nightstands until the middle of February, but I’m not holding my breath on that date. The only reason my review is 2 stars is because my saleswoman, Geneva, was great for the whole purchasing process. Outside of that, this has been the most frustrating purchase I have ever dealt with!!

Dear VCF Management, I recently purchased a bedroom set from your store, and while I was excited to receive the new furniture, my experience with the delivery service left me disappointed. After scheduling and paying for the delivery, I was informed that the movers would not be taking any precautions to protect my home, such as removing shoes or wearing booties. Given the snow, mud, and ice in Canton, MI, this raised concerns about potential damage to my floors and carpets.

While I understand that your policy states safety concerns for the movers as the reason for this, I was surprised that no accommodations were made for protecting the customer's home. In my opinion, this is an important aspect of respecting the customer's space and ensuring a positive experience. Other major furniture stores seem to recognize the importance of this and are mindful of their customers' preferences, whether it involves protecting the home or respecting specific practices. This experience has led me to reconsider shopping with VCF in the future, as it does not reflect the level of service I would expect. I hope you consider this feedback, as many customers, like myself, would appreciate a more flexible and considerate approach to home delivery.

    Best regards,

    M

I was livid because I tossed my bed and was sleeping in my son bed who is away from college and was set to arrive home for Thanksgiving break on 11/20. I explained to the dispatcher I would like my set to arrive together needless to say I received a call from delivery on 11/23 that they are delivering a chest. I declined because I had already explained I prefer my items delivered together. I went to the store from where I purchased the set and spoke with Chuck a manager and explained how this whole process has been frustrating and an inconvenience. He offered to provide me with a Black Friday deal and will f/u with me on the next day. Chuck did follow up and assured me that I will receive all pieces in 12/4.

Today I received a bed only, when I reached out they said that they can deliver on 12/10. I was livid the dispatcher was rude, the warehouse was rude. No one wanted to take accountability for the bad service. So the bed is here however the Bunkie boards that were sent does not fit. Their customer service line was no service. They just offer to return the product. I called the store and asked to speak with the manager Chuck, I was advised he won’t be in until 1 pm it 3:58 pm and I have no returned call. We were going to purchase our sofa here but this a no go. This has been the most frustrating thing ever!! Do better.

I ordered $4200 worth of furniture for my new home. Value City delivered this furniture in the very first hour of receiving our keys. We spent $250,000 on this home and had it inspected just a week prior. When we moved the furniture from the place the delivery men left it we realized they had done severe damage to our new floor. I called and a complaint was supposed to be sent to management 11 days goes by and nothing. I call back in and the complaint was never even submitted. Then the manager reaches out and informs me that since we moved the furniture they will not be held liable for the damage. I stated in the complaint calls and original emails that we moved the furniture, if we didn't how would we had even seen the damage?

Their customer service is a joke and the fact that they are not taking responsibility for their actions is unacceptable. I will NEVER spend another penny with this manipulative business. This is absolutely unacceptable and they do not care about their customers at all. Now we have to take time off of work, and money out of our pocket to repair a floor that they damaged. I am absolutely devastated. What was supposed to be a good, exciting buying experience of furnishings our very first home has turned into an absolute nightmare and they couldn't care less.

This business is simply bad. 10/5/24 - Went to the store to look at living room furniture. Found a set I like. Purchased and received delivery would occur 10/10/24 between the hours of 11:15am - 2:15pm. The delivery men arrived 8:45am. I was told one piece of the furniture was damaged and they did not pack it on the truck. I was told someone should have called me to relay this message. Of course no one called. In addition, the lamp I ordered was marred. I called the store at 10am and was told I needed to send an email with pictures and details about the marred lamp and the missing piece of furniture to store37service@gmail.com. I sent the email. I never got a call from anyone related to the email. I went back to the store and spoke to an assistant.

manager. I explained that I was missing a piece of furniture and that the lamp I purchased was marred and I needed a replacement. The assistant manager explained they had a new computer system, and they were having some problems with it. He told me that the pieces were in and that they were scheduled for delivery on 10/16/24 between 1:30pm-4:30pm. Please note this would be the second time I stayed home to receive the furniture. At 4pm I called the store to determine if the delivery was still coming as I had not received a call or text that the delivery was delayed. I was told the delivery would not be coming. I decided to go to the store to find out what had happened. I arrived at the store and spoke to the manager. The manager looked in the system and noted my items had come in. Naturally I asked why they had not been delivered. She called the delivery warehouse and was told the items were not in.

At that point I asked them to simply come pick up the furniture. I had to wait until the next delivery window. I had a pick-up scheduled for 10/30/24. I called the store 10/29/24 to confirm the scheduled pickup on 10/30/24 between 3:30pm-6:30pm. I am typing this on 10/30/24 at 6:09pm expecting no one to come. No one came. Called the corporate office at 888-751-8552. Spoke to a compassionate customer service person. She called the store and found that there were notes for a pickup, but the pickup was not assigned a truck. And again no one from the store or the delivery called to tell me this. So I think this is the 4th time I have stayed home for this company. So, I asked to speak to someone who had some authority. Spoke to Dominique. Told her I want someone to come tomorrow to pick up this furniture. She promised to call them in the morning and call me with an update.

We were told we could pick up our furniture on 10/24/24. I received an email at 10:18 am that it was ready for pick up. I had someone take off work early (because you can only pick up till 6:00 PM.) borrowed a trailer and made arrangements for bulk pick up through our trash company the next day for our old furniture. All to check in through the email that someone was there to pick it up then be told that our furniture wasn't even there. I called to see what was going on that I had someone there to pick it up as I received the email that it was there.

Only to have the rudest person yelling that it wasn't their fault it wasn't there and that we should have called first. I told them I received an email. He rudely stated he hadn't even had time to open his computer to send an email. I said well someone did. Now I have to pay the person that I had to take off work early for nothing. I called customer care, and she said that they had an issue with the truck, and someone would be calling me when I can pick it up. I never received a phone call. Received a new email on Sunday stating it was ready for pick up.

Called today to verify it was for sure there only to find out you can't do pickups Monday- Wednesday. Only Thursday-Sunday so now we still don't have living room furniture to sit on and we shall see if it's there Thursday for pick up but I'm not holding my breath. They said, "Because you submitted it as a mistake we are going to hold you to that mistake and will not/can not change the dates." The customer service rep didn't explain any of this. Saying if you accidently make a mistake on the dates, PURE Promise will hold you to it. Pure Promise OR VCF doesn't care about you. I wish corporations would stop thinking about billion dollar profits and help the little guy but that won't happen. VCF is just trying to sell you stuff to make money and then use a 3rd party for their warranty so no-one will recognize the blame. It's only the customer fault for incorrectly adding a date. What can I say, avoid them at all costs. I purchased an order but within seconds requested a cancellation. The cancellation was acknowledged immediately in writing. Then they proceeded to ship 1800 dollars worth of merchandise to my address. It suddenly became my problem to return it even though it was canceled and acknowledged as canceled in less than 24 hours of the order. I even followed up with a phone call and was told that they would reach out to the vendors to ensure it was canceled. Orders continued to ship up to 4-5 days after that. Yes I disputed it with the credit card company but since it is their credit card naturally I did not win the dispute.

If I had a truck to return all of that furniture I wouldn't have paid for shipping to begin with. I'm not sure why I am responsible for paying for something that was canceled in writing. I've done everything I can including reporting to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs but it appears I am stuck paying for it. I wasn't even intending to submit the order I just wanted to see how much it would be with taxes but there was no warning that it submitted and no total was given prior to that. That's how I ended up in this mess so be careful when you were placing orders online.

I've paid off the card since then but the charge is still pending which makes me nervous because now I'm worried that they will try to charge me again. I've reached out to them and the credit card company asking for the charge to be updated but both are referring to the other for a solution. To be honest I'm not sure why a charge that is showing pending is racking up interest on the credit card. I didn't think they could do that until the charge went through but apparently this card can do what they want. Synchrony and Value City Furniture I look forward to the day whenever you are no longer in business. It may not mean much but I'm going to make sure everyone hears about this and every possible platform.

However, when we finally opened the box a few weeks later, we discovered that the replacement was the exact same color as before.

When we contacted customer service to resolve the issue, we were met with a frustratingly unhelpful response. They insisted on charging us a 15% restocking fee to correct the mistake, despite the fact that the error was on their end, not ours. This is particularly infuriating because we were not charged this fee the first time we exchanged the tables. Overall, I am extremely unsatisfied with how Value City Furniture handled the situation. We went into the store to see what we may like and found a floor rug and two lamps. The purchase went great, we bought the floor rug and took it that day. The lamps took 4 to 5 months to receive. I'm assuming a supplier issue, after the long run around we decided to visit store and see if they had our lamps on the floor and they did.

We asked about taking the floor lamps and the manager was adamant that could not happen, why not sure. So I expressed my displeasure and asked the manager, "If you are having supply issues with this manufacture, why would you not give me the floor models and create a happy customer. If you're having issues with the manufacture why would you run the risk of selling these lamps to another customer and disappointing them." My thought is this is a classic case of poor management skills. So in closing, I say goodbye to Value City and if you're not around in a couple years, I understand.

I have purchased a marble kitchen table with 6 stools from Value City thinking that it would be practical to maintain it and easy to clean. I was recommended by the salesperson to buy a protection plan with it if anything goes wrong, because I have 4 kids and heard to keep it up. While using the table I notice that any liquid that sits on top of the marble leaves a stain that you cannot remove and looks very bad. I tried different cleaning solutions, but nothing works! I called the warranty protection center to submit a claim.

After reviewing the claim, they said that your claim was denied because of the multiple stain issues happened during use, and I don't qualify for refund or repair! I was very disappointed about their response. I called back to make request to talk to any of their supervisors about 10 times but answers or responds from them. This is my worst experience that I ever had with any furniture store and to be honest I would never purchase anything from them again! I would give a zero star I could because they are a scam, and their product is garbage.

The Value City Social Media team reached out and asked for me to contact them. I did. They again denied the warranty saying that I need to put in a claim with the extended warranty. Now they denied me a third time saying that the damage happened too long ago. So I have furniture with broken wood, seems coming apart, poor quality fabric and stuffing and their only response is, "too bad because of technicalities." DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

We purchased a motorized sofa and loveseat in 2021 (Comfortech Jackson). Everything was fine with the sofa until May 2024. I found that the controller module (The set is for the beverage cup, buttons, controller circuit board and connectors) became defective and the loveseat would not recline. Being out of the 1 year warranty (I read how worthless their 5 year purchased warranty is on this site), I actually did my own troubleshooting and found a defective IC on the board.

Not knowing if replacing just this component would fix the issue, I thought it better to just replace the whole controller. I thought I could have the store order the part for me, so I went there (near West Mifflin PA). The person who orders parts was not in, so a salesman helpfully printed out my order information from 2021, left it for her, and said their parts person would call me the next day. No call. I was in the area 2 days later and stopped in the store again. The parts person said parts were backlogged 7 to 9 months, offered no other suggestion. I went online to various part suppliers and found the OEM part in stock with 3 day delivery for a reasonable price. Seems like they don't want to do anything but sell furniture and provide no support. We have sent our last referral (of several who spent $1000's) to this store. I put safety pins on the zipper at first, but then ended up sewing the whole zipper shut. The warranty is a scam. They don't cover anything they say they do. I put in two claims, one for the fabric tears and another for the busted spring. Both of the claims were denied and said they weren't covered. The warranty does not help unless your product breaks upon arrival, because they always back out of paying by saying the furniture showed signs of wear before you reported it and the contract requires you to "report immediately". Immediately is not defined, meaning you will always be told "you didn't report it fast enough." As soon as your couch has been used, that warranty is meaningless.

A service rep came to our house and said that was normal when they paint over this type of wood and that maybe we should consider buying a piece of glass to put on the top as it will continue to happen. Purchasing a piece of glass for the top is not an option as this table has a fold-down leaf, nor did we want a glass-top table. The service rep led us to believe that we would be able to return this table and select something else.

We waited over a week to hear from Value City and we finally called. They stated that this was "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" and they could do nothing for us. This is not normal wear and tear as it was chipping where no one had been sitting and it was only 45 days. I purchased a sectional in July 2020 and the motor for one of the sectionals went out in December 2022. I had purchased a warranty with the couch so I scheduled for someone to come look at it. The technician came out towards the beginning of February to take a look and he told me he had to order a new motor. He informed me that due to Covid, parts were taking a bit to come in so he quoted 6 weeks to 3 months on the delivery of the motor and told me I needed to call back to schedule the repair. Months passed and the part never came so I called the warranty company back. At that point they informed me that part was no longer made. They said to wait for a message about how much money they would offer to settle the claim. 2 months passed and I never heard from them so I called back again. The representative on the phone said I should hear something before Christmas.

Mind you this was April/May-ish. later that day I received a settlement amount. they offered me $300 for a couch that I paid 5k for. I denied the offer and waited for the next offer. waited several weeks and heard nothing so I called back that day. after talking to a representative, I miraculously got a 2nd offer of $900. Again denied the offer. The next step was that I was going to get a replacement couch. We got notice in October that we could come pick out a new couch so we went to the Preston Hwy. store to shop. Even though we paid 5k for our original couch they only gave us 3500 as a credit. We picked out a couch and were informed we had to pay delivery, taxes and the price difference which was $1900.

It is extremely ridiculous that their product broke in only 2 years and I had to come out of pocket for anything. We set up delivery for Wednesday October 18th. The sunday before delivery I received a call from Value City confirming my delivery for Wednesday the 18th. Wednesday comes and Value City never shows up so I call them. They informed me that my delivery date was scheduled for October 22nd however, I was never informed of this. Saturday the 22nd rolls around and again, no delivery. Each time they push the delivery out a week. I have made several phone calls, each week it's promised the following Friday and each week it never comes. Our couch was supposed to be delivered again this Friday the 1st.

I got the call yesterday to confirm they were coming, got a call today to say it had been pushed to December 8th now. I'm receiving invoices saying my payments need to be made for the financing of the $1900, but yet I don't have the product. I have purchased from Value City since I was a little kid. My grandmother worked for them up until she passed away. This company has gone completely down the hill and I highly recommend that no one purchase from them. The customer service is terrible. She did not care if the rug was delivered to my address or somewhere else. she said their policy does not cover lost or stolen item. I am in between losing my money $370.00 and No Rug.. they do not want even send us a rug nor refund us our money.. It is insane and unacceptable.

Not sure what to do at this point, but for sure I won t never ever buy anything from value city and I do not recommend anyone buying things online, with my experience if you do not receive your purchase you will lose your money , better use a guaranty company to be safe. This is the worst company that I will never deal with in the future..

We were lied to by the salesperson and the furniture is the worst quality I have ever seen. One couch has collapsed on side, chairs have broken on back and bottoms. I was told nothing would be covered but they could replace the buttons. I get calls to come out to replace buttons on a couch that is worthless, but they can’t even do that because the buttons were never shipped. Multiple people have fallen and gotten hurt in dining room chairs because of them just collapsing. I’ve never seen such low quality furniture and a company that scams for a warranty. They should be shut down and held accountable.

After a short period of time (enough to see the prices & styles), he introduced us to a clearance area with good deals. We selected a manual reclining arm chair. The purchasing process was a breeze. On Thurs., exactly as we were informed on Sunday, we received a call the chairs could be picked up. This was our choice & the young man in Customer pick-up was also personable & helpful. The couch was DELAYED by several weeks with horrendously inconsistent and wrong notifications (saying it was for pickup when I paid for delivery). There was no attempt made at decreasing this fee that was again not explained. It was apparently expected that because it was a custom order, that I go online to Value city.com and read the fineprint myself. I also had interest charges on my account when my receipt explicitly says that no interest would be applied.

Furthermore, there was fraudulent separate purchase made when I initially signed up for my value city card (this issue was eventually resolved but took a lot of time and effort that no full-time worker has and is yet another example of this company's disrespect for customers and their incompetence). I am making sure that everybody knows Value City should not be somewhere you want to buy if you want quality furniture. I purchased a Zara bedroom set in March of 2021. I am still fighting to get just a small exchange. When I got the furniture after spending over $9,000 for every piece of furniture was either broken, cut, chipped, scraped, damaged, sliced, some type of damage was done to it. The drawers don't even fit into the dressers. When they dropped off the furniture I immediately saw some of the damage and the delivery man refused to put it back on the truck because he was dressing his Sunday's best and he didn't want to get dirty I am assuming.

I had to go through months of begging for them to even send someone out to look at the damages that I received my furniture. Look like I purchased it from the worst dirtiest ill kept second hand store. They are dishonest and their practices are fraudulent. I live here in Michigan and purchase my furniture from the Value City in Michigan. They sent me to the Chesterfield store which is their office headquarters for all of the Value Cities here in Michigan or at least this district I was told. I went back to the store. They sent me back to Chesterfield. Chesterfield sent me back to Value City. Value City then told me to call Pure Promise because I did have insurance on the furniture.

Pure Promise states that they had no record of any damages and nothing was documented so they could not help me because it was after the 60 days that they give you but I purchased insurance that should have follow me for up to 5 years so I'm finding out that Pure Promise is also a scam. When I contacted the headquarters of Value City they apologize and said no store had any notes of even speaking with me just one record of it in 2022. So they told me to go back to Pure Promise. So again, I'm being deflected over a year and a half later for them selling me "Expensive" garbage.

If you can and if you have any type of morals, self-respect, dignity, pride or anything and if you love your money and you spend it wisely do not, I beg you do not buy from Value City. They are not worth your hard earned money. They offered to exchange my dresser. I accepted but when the new dresser came the "Driver" seen my dresser and stated that my dresser that I had was in far better shape that the one on the truck. I am totally insulted because the errors has never been corrected and today VCF headquarters advised me to to go back to Pure Promise and call another company. After a year and a half I am done fighting and losing their way. It was a total rip off.

I am a 65 year old disabled Army veteran that needs a cane/walker and is hard of hearing. After buying a $10,000 5 piece bedroom set and matress/boxsprings from Value City Furniture in Kalamazoo, a date was set for the furniture to be delivered a month and a half later. The first time they showed up, I noticed the furniture was the wrong color, but the driver said it was probably just the lighting in the showroom was different and delivered it anyway.

One piece of the set was a different color, so he said they would take that back and I would have to schedule to get the right piece delivered and for them to set it up, which I had already paid for. I thought maybe he was right about the lighting, so I went to the showroom to check it out and found the items on the showroom just as I had ordered them, and that they had indeed ordered the wrong color. I talked to the manager on duty and he said that he was sorry and it wouldn't be a problem for them to get me the right color and exchange the furniture and put it together.

Value City contacted me and said it would take some time to get the right color and they scheduled another delivery/pickup for another month from then. The day before the pickup I confirmed that I would be home all day and they told me it would be between 1100am and 200pm and they would call 5-10min before they came. I live in a condo that has a porch with a front door with a doorbell on one side and a garage door with no personnel door or doorbell on the other. After waiting until 200pm with no response, I decided maybe they were running behind and I would wait a little longer. I waited until 500pm at which time I called Value City to see what was happening. After talking to the drivers the customer service girl said that they told her they were just there and nobody was there. She asked them if they could come back and they said they would. I waited until 800pm and no one showed up.

I called back the next day and they said they would have to reschedule it. This they did for another week and again after verifying the day before I would be there, I asked them to make sure the driver called so that I would know they were on their way. The day came and the driver called and I met them at the garage. He asked me where the furniture was going and I told him upstairs in the bedroom, but that they would have to remove the furniture in the wrong color that they were supposed to take back first. He proceeded to say that no one had informed him that he was picking up anything and that because of liability issues they would not be able to pick it up and take it back with them.

He was ready to leave at that point when we reached a compromise that he would leave the furniture that he brought out stacked in my garage area (It is a communal garage with spaces for the other condos) and someone would have to reschedule me for them to take away the wrong color set, bring the other set to the 2nd floor and put it together. I called Value City to again set this up and they assured me again that they were right on it and that they would get this resolved. They explained that the trucks come from the Grand Rapids store and that they contract out the delivery and it is not their employees. So now I am scheduled for another week to have them accomplish what they should have in the first place!

I decided after the last round that I would call their corporate offices in Ohio and file a complaint. I got a recorded message that the waiting time was 15 minutes so, after waiting 45min I decided to leave my number for them to call me back. This they proceeded to do at a time convenient for them, the middle of my lunch. I talked to the customer service agent as she reviewed the small novel that they had written in their computer detailing at least 25 calls and three failed pickup/deliveries. After reading this she said it looked like it was being taken care of and asked what I wanted her to do. I reminded her that this was a customer service complaint line and that, if nothing else, I needed her to file my complaint. I am usually a very tolerant and understanding person but here I am still waiting for things to be put right and to get the service I paid for upfront.

DO NOT buy your furniture here...I paid over $4000 for a sectional and after 2 months the fabric is pilling and look horrible. I called and spoke with CC who identified herself as a manager (she is a lead receptionist) and she told me she would allow me to get a in store credit but not a refund. I asked to talk to the store manager who she told me is not working (she then put me on hold). 30 seconds later JJ identified himself as the store manager (he is the warehouse manager) and told me I could get a in store credit. I asked who the owner of the place was and he got Christine on the phone. Christine told me JJ is not the store manager but she is.

JJ and CC first told Christine they never told me I could get a store credit but after I called him out on speaker phone he now admitted he did tell me this. Christine now tells me she will not allow JJ or CC to give me a in store credit because it is against their policy. Christine's exact words were "No, I would not be happy with the couch you have and its issues". Yet, no refund or store credit. PLEASE DO NOT BUY HERE!

Never heard from anyone so we followed up and they tell us they need to now pick up the chair and bring it to the shop. They will not replace. The unpleasant and unprofessional claims manager Sylvester told me it they're right to do in shop repair. He was extremely unhelpful and lacked any customer service skills. Ok so the pickup is a week out and once they get it. Takes 7-14 days to get a response. DO NOT BUY from them. Once they have your money they do not care about you.

I purchased a dining table and 2 bedroom sets from Value City in Greenbrook, NJ with a 5-year protection plan hoping if something goes wrong they could fix it. We had some issues with chairs and called Value city, after rescheduling their visit twice their technician came and evaluated the bed set and chairs, he mentioned that they need to repair and fixed and that he was unable to do.

A week later I called back to check up on technician visit and I was told there was nothing the Value city could do and I should buy a new set of chairs and bed. I mentioned what’s the point of buying a protection plan? They were not willing to hear what I had to say and once they hung up on me. I ask to share the technician report but they refused to do that. Very poor customer service and unprofessional staff to deal with. They only care about selling you their poor quality furniture. I would not recommend them at all as they were not willing to listen and help the customer. I would rate their customer service and support very unprofessional. I asked them to lean it another direction and pull it into my kitchen slightly over a banister. They told me it was against store policy for them to not use a stairway and they personally asked me for $80 to do it and break the rules, or they would have to refuse my delivery because they couldn't fit my couch in one specific direction.

Having just moved in the house and being overwhelmed with my current tasks at hand and having no one around to help move furniture I told them to do it but I am contacting their shipping department with their names to let them know that they are scamming customers by creating rules and regs to make additional money on the side. I want to begin by saying that I am generally a very patient individual and am very understanding when it comes to giving someone the benefit of the doubt; but our extremely poor experience with Value City Furniture has resulted in my first ever review of a company in the hope that nobody else has to go through the situation that we have with this company. We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has put a strain on everyone, businesses and individuals alike - but that does not warrant deceptive (borderline criminal) practices, false guarantees, and poor customer service.

Our furniture set order was placed in July 2021 after we shopped around and finally found a set we liked at Value City Furniture. The initial delivery date for the entire set was originally set at mid-November, which was later than we had hoped but the in-store salesperson convinced us that we would be able to receive a portion of the order in September: two nightstands, a large dresser, and mirror attachment for the dresser. While this was not ideal, we had a temporary bed that we just recently moved with that we could manage with for a shorter period of time.

When September arrived, we received a voicemail that upon arrival to the storage facility, they damaged the dresser (by far the most important and expensive part of the order) and it would not be delivered with the nightstands and mirror, but would be delivered in November with the rest of the set (storage bed and gentleman’s chest). In October, they delayed the November order until December; in November they delayed the order until January 13. Now less than 24 hours until the scheduled delivery, they delayed the order until March 10.

We are trying to cancel our order now because we are so fed up with the entire process and we have been making payments for 7 months for furniture we don’t even have, but now they say they can’t refund us and we have to go through the credit card company they contract with instead. A lawyer is seriously being considered at this point and I want to warn anyone who is considering purchasing a product from this company to rethink their options because the hassle is not worth it. I wish a zero star rating was possible but I think even that would not do the company’s true reputation justice.

Mayfair is the bedroom furniture brand. It seems to be on the higher end (at least price point wise compared to some things I've bought over the years) and is not the greatest of workmanship. I have bought for my family has from Value City for decades and this has by far been the worst experience since May....and will probably be my last.

The lack of follow up and through. The length of time to make it right, the accountability and very few caring at how much time I have had to miss to be home to wait around has been ridiculous. It took months and many people before I even got an apology. Our sales person tried to get things resolved but from May to December we are still waiting on 1 piece to be replaced and some pieces to be fixed. They've been out between delivery team, repair services, evaluation, 7 or 8 times I believe and I am still waiting on answers and the last one was an outright lie. So I'm stumped, livid and ready to send it all back but can't.

At this point I also have issues with a piece off an old order that is warranties from a couple of years ago, too....which is another debacle. It would be great to stand behind the products we pay for and correct the issues. Make them right from the start. Respect people's time. Some people along the way have tried but it seems to get caught up somewhere. It's gone on too long. I'm at my wits' end.

Only was told the warranty was out 3 days before I called, I did call corporate and was told there was nothing they could do, as I said why I went again is stupid on my part but I needed furniture in a hurry, I intend to tell everyone I know and everyone on Facebook.

Please please do not use value city, the people in the office are rude, non caring and don't give a dam about your problems with their furniture,. I will never never buy Value City again, so please please think about all the other furniture places out there to buy a better quality, I would like to mention these chairs were not cheap, I am really trying to be nice. I could go on about the words I really feel about these but I am trying my level best to be as true as I can be with out screaming and cussing.

The other chairs were more expensive and we should have waited but as I said the leather ones were worse than the new ones because Value City did nothing about them, I am writing this just to warn people stay away because nothing will be done, I should be given the option to purchase the other chairs in replacement of these but will not be given the option.

We wanted to contact you over the displeasure over or recliner sofa that was delivered in January 2021. WE have had issues already. Stables on the arm rest have come out and were exposed. The lift handle broke off internally on the right side. And now the handle on the left side has broken, externally. We had the protection plan, but now we will have to file another claim for a second broken lever, just 3 weeks after our first claim was repaired.

To say we are disappointed would be an understatement. We have never ever in our long life had furniture break so quickly. We do not have children and we are both over 60 years old, so there is no abuse of our furniture. This is just everyday use. We are currently trying to get another claim started for this new breakage. But we have not had the sofa a year and already filed 2 claims. The agreement only allows 3 per unit. We also have a loveseat delivered at the same time and are concern about breakage on that unit. We don't see how we could recommend Value City as place for others to do business if this is kind sub par furniture your company sells.
