ON April 19, 2018 we purchased a 4.7 CFT SentrySafe and paid $438.39 on purchase order # **. Upon tracking our purchase, we immediately saw status as "Shipped" presumably on foot. The status was never changed. The safe was supposed to be delivered on April 30th 2018. It was never delivered. After multiple inquiries since that date, we are being told that the supplier is unknown and they are not responding to Office Depot's inquiries. Office Depot is giving us runaround with the same excuses for last 6-7 days. Now we are convinced that we are dealing with 3rd grade company who have 784 bad reviews from its customers and have not mended their ways. If I do not get any firm commitment to the exact delivery of the product we purchased, we will cancel the order and fight for our money back.
Govind - Thanks for reaching out. This is not the customer experience that we want our customers to have. Since you provided your order number, I'm going to have our team reach out to you to find out what happened and make this right.
I'm really sorry about the poor service.

My experience overall was pretty good, the staff was helpful, the store was clean, and everything was arrange well. I chose this store over others because I needed furniture for my home office, and they did not let me down. I liked that it carried all the furniture that one would need for a home or work office. It had a great variety of desks, along with chairs. If you needed special ergonomics, they had chairs for that too. I feel the prices were also fairly reasonable for all they had.

It is affordable, functional, lasting and simple. I mostly go to Office Depot for affordable desks and office chairs. There is really only one section dedicated to the furniture so it is easy to see the options and what things look like. It is not only a furniture store so the selection can be small and of lower quality. They may not always offer all natural wood products and usually don't have employees to have expert knowledge about these things but if you need function or form, Office Depot is great. All in all, my experience has been good. If you are looking for affordable office furniture then Office Depot is great.

Overall, Office Depot was very good. Their displays had color samples that we were able to compare size and color too. The sales associate was helpful and courteous. They knew what they were doing and took the time to show examples. I really like the chair and desk. The chair was comfortable and the desk is very spacious. The furniture was easy to pick and I have ordered from the warehouse to be delivered to the house. However, the delivery wasn’t on time and the delivery guy didn’t smell good. He also called asking for directions 20 minutes after he was supposed to be here. The desk was very heavy and it had to be opened and brought in piece by piece. The chair was not able to fit through the door. It was clunky and hard to fit through the door and had to be unpacked outside and brought in.

I would say it was fun. I like the experience, brands and prices. I like everything it has to offer in the featured ads they have. Office Depot has great products to choose from. I like the store in store and online. I have only shopped at this store. They have great customer service people to help you when you need help in the store and online.

Ordered a Microsoft Surface Pro during their promotion. While it advertises "Free Next Business Day Available" on the item I ordered, they used UPS ground shipping and it actually take 10 days. The actual expected delivery date on UPS is 5 days more than the "expected delivery date" on my receipt, and 9 days more than advertised on the item webpage (which the CS admits is an error, but is still not updated last time I checked). Unfortunately UPS lost my package in their local hub and marked an "Exception" in the tracking info. So I contacted customer service, they said they have no way to re-ship the item and denied my request to pick up the same item from the local store.
Instead, I have to cancel the original order, make another order online, and then contact them to price matching the promotion discount in my original order. They cannot expedite the shipping so it's going to take another 10 days to arrive. Part of the payment was made through a gift card, they cannot apply the credit towards the replacement purchase, and will require me to wait 3-5 business days for the gift card credit to go back. The customer service said that once I place the new order, I can just call the same number again - any other CS will be able to help me. Now comes the most ridiculous part, after I accept all those unreasonable reconciliations and made another online order and called them, the new customer service said she does not have the privilege to adjust the order price, and I will have to call in after I received the item to request for a refund of the difference...
At this time, I just gave up and cancelled the new order. Then I received an email from nowhere saying that the amount I paid to the original order will be received in a MAIL as a CHECK within 21 business days to my billing address! They decided this without my consent and confirming if the billing address is still valid (which is not since I haven't updated my billing address with my bank yet after I moved). There is also no tracking number for the check so I don't know what to do if the check is also lost. Their whole system are so messed up that even such a simple deliver incident can spur such a chaos. I literally just wasted a full day of my life just trying to deal with this nonsense and yet still made no progress.
Yin - Thanks for reaching out. We also received your email and a member of our Executive Resolution Team will be reaching out to you today.
I'm sorry that this was such a poor experience and want to assure you that we'll make it right.

Around March 23, 2018 I bought a box of paper from OFFICE DEPOT. They offered a $25 rebate. I asked the clerk specifically if I had to use the rebate at any OFFICE DEPOT / MAX stores and he said "NO" and that I could use it at ANY store or just cash it. Well today is May 2 and I STILL do not have the rebate so I chatted with them and they said I should have it in 10 days BUT that I would have to use it at their stores ONLY!! Again that is not what I was told originally! I run a very successful mail order business for the last 44 years and if I operated like this I wouldn't be in business. So please BEWARE of this store and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
Updated on 05/15/2018: On May 23, 2018 I bought a Case of Paper from OFFICE DEPOT. I was supposed to get a $25 REBATE but as of today May 15 I have RECEIVED NOTHING! NWVV-0938-4566, Boise X9 10 Ream Case $25 Rebate on a Office Depot Gift Card. I called them April 9 and was told it takes 3 weeks from the time I purchased the paper. I called them May 8 and they said I should be getting it soon. It's almost 2 months and NOTHING!
Also, the salesman said that I would be getting the $25 rebate in the form of a check or gift card that I could use anywhere (and not necessarily at OFFICE DEPOT / MAX) but one of the people I spoke to said that's not true and that it would only be good for their stores! Very false advertising! I would strongly advise customers to think twice about buying anything from this company especially if there is a REBATE offered as it looks like you will more than likely not get it!

I chose Office Depot because I believe they are one of the best stores for office furniture. They have been in business for several years and carry a wide selection of office furniture. I enjoy shopping there whenever I can. I purchased a computer desk there a while back and it complimented my family room. I received many compliments on my desk and I will return to Office Depot when I am in the market for more office furniture. Furthermore, they have all the service and selection I need. Their employees are very experienced and knowledgeable.

A great fun experience. They have a wide variety of items to shop, try, and select which is great for the consumer so they can make the right comfortable decision and enjoy and cherish them. It is hard to find a reliable store such as the Office Depot. Their stores are pretty common and reliable to most consumers and their office selection is the best offered on the market. Their prices can be a bit high, but that is not uncommon for most stores nowadays. Price is always an important factor in shopping and purchasing items.

I had a good experience. I liked everything I found. I also liked that it was easy to navigate through the aisles and shop. It was easy to find what I'm looking for. I did not need to ask anyone for help at all. However the prices can be a little high. Also, it would have been nice to have more things on display for customers to see and look at before they buy instead of just looking at pictures.

I was looking for a desk and found a desk at Office Depot. I knew what I was getting into and a couple of other items were available that I needed there as well. I like that they have a large variety of desks and chairs, and also a wide selection of different products to choose from besides furniture. But they could have more decorative items to decorate the space and office since it is a furniture store. Also they could have more plants available to purchase in the same line as more decorations.

My experience at the Office Depot copy center was the WORST customer service that I have ever encountered. My boyfriend and I spent a full day attempting to get a few documents copied (going back in several times with no progress made). Not only were we charged over $1,000 for 12 copies of two documents but the customer service was simply horrendous. The employees lost our thumb drive (which contained sensitive documents; was eventually found after an hour), refused to give us a refund even though we were obviously overcharged and kept us waiting for over 2 hours just to get some resolution to this situation. No employees seemed to know what they were doing which only added to our growing frustration. My advice would be, if you need copies, go to Staples or to another copy center. Office Depot has no idea what they are doing and I would avoid their copy center at all costs.

I like the good prices on most of the furniture in the store. But Office Depot is not a great store. Kind of boring furniture; nothing too glamorous. I wish there were more selection and more higher end types of furniture for sale. I only went there because it was located close to me and had a product that I wanted in stock. I don't know if I'd necessarily go there again.

I liked that Office Depot was well laid out. Store isn't too large and specializes in only a few pieces of furniture. Some of the prices can be a bit high at times but the store itself is easy to shop in. I go to Office Depot specifically looking for an office chair and this is a great place for this particular type of furniture. Other stores have lots of furniture but Office Depot probably has the largest selection of office chairs. It was an enjoyable shopping experience.

However, the employees are stand offish and sometimes you can't find anyone to help you and their website could be little better to get around. Returning stuff can be a little hard as well. But if you can find an employee they can be really helpful when it come to more the tech stuff. I'll for sure keep going and ask them for any help I need.

It has good deals and there are sales often. You can find them in their circular and you can turn the pages and see all the different sales. I chose this store because they were having a sale. They had the item in stock, but it was hard to get. I would shop more often if they had a broader selection. They need to have more help available on hand. They also need to make it easier to retrieve and check out items before you buy them.

Office Depot has very good selection of desks & chairs. Several different options to choose from. Also, good warranty plans (although if I remember correctly, I opted out of them). I chose it because I worked there (at OfficeMax) at the time. But the discount affected my final choice. I believe they would price-match as well, which added to the convenience. All in all, Office Depot is an office store that sold quality office furniture.

It needed assembly which was time consuming but not too difficult. The directions were fairly easy to follow. But the salespersons in the store were not easy to find or get information from. Office Depot was close to home, simple, clean and organized and nothing was hard to locate when I was going through the ad comparing products. And I like the easy to find office furniture, the entire section of designs offered were well laid out in store displays as well, wide variety of colors and wood and metal design options. Also, I like that its low cost while still being well made and fits in well with our office style. But I would offer better shipping options. Or even maybe a site to store location such as some shopping places offer. I know things that are larger in size sometimes are harder to move, ship or store but waiting weeks isn’t acceptable. At least it was still free but it took a while to arrive to our house.

My overall experience was good. Office Depot was conveniently located near my house. I only live about 5 minutes away from it, so when I needed to purchase a specific piece of furniture, I went to Office Depot to check out what they have. I like that they display the furniture out in the store for you to try. You can sit in the furniture and see what they feel like. They also have knowledgeable employees that can explain the features of the furniture and its benefits. I dislike though the variety of furnitures available. It was nice to go to a store which offered a lot of different products in various categories so that I could do everything needed in one trip. More quantity of sofa and the design and varieties are good and we have more choices. I was able to get all colored sofas and the design was also stylish and it is really nice to see it all together. Customer Service says they wanted me to pay $200 more... long story short, they have over 40 laptops available so the agent re-ordered honoring original price. They charge my card for a 2nd time! I received another confirmation for order #2 w/ delivery date for the 27th. April 26 - I check tracking, Office Depot cancels yet again due to "inventory issues".
I call Customer Service again! Long story short, they now have 37 of these laptop and promise to deliver by May 1st. Credit card charged for a 3rd time. I bought a desk and office chair at Office Depot. The desk was a laminate material in a medium brown with silver feet and black accents. The chair was a tall above the shoulder height when seated. It was plush and covered in a brown plastic. The only thing I didn't like was the wheels on the chair. I'm not sure if bigger wheels would help but these wheels were small and would not roll on carpet. I have had good experiences with Office Depot. I considered buying a plastic sheet for the chair to sit on but felt that the carpet had a short nap and it would be ok. At 70 years old you really don't want to go back to the store.
Hi Patricia! Thanks for your kind words. Based on what you describe, I think a chair mat would help eliminate the difficulty you are having with the wheels on the carpet.
I'll have a team member reach out to you today to learn more about the chair and what type of carpet you're using so we can recommend a chair mat that will work for you.
Thank you for your feedback!

Nowhere did it say that it was a limited time offer or a sale offer. When I went to the cart this morning, it said $339.99. I went back to Google and searched again, and it was still being advertised for $239.99. I called and texted Office Depot about it. They refused to honor the advertised price. About 30 minutes later they did update their price in their advertisement, but the fact of the matter was that this morning, when I went to purchase it, it was still being advertised for the $239.99, and I believe legally they should have honored that. I have screenshots of the advertisement and it shows the date and time of the advertisement.

I am reviewing the behavior of the employee Joshua ** who works at the department of printing at the Office Depot branch located on Harrison St. at 14th St. in San Francisco, Cal. I will simply say that he is helpful and understand what people who uses art as a profession always looks for, in this age when digital printing is so dependable, is great to find a mind like Joshua's. Over the years I have been using OD as my first choice for my printing needs and to tell you the truth I have found many other employees with whom I have fought my way to get what I want or they do not understand the technology or they are lazy. Kudos to Mr. **. Thanks.
Eugenio - Thanks so much for your kind comments about Joshua. I'll make sure that we share your comments with the local management team so that he can be recognized for taking such good care of you.
Thanks again!

This company is horrible, they do not even deserve 1 star. I ordered a desk and hutch on March 12 with a delivery date of March 30. It is now April 5th and I still have no desk, even though it was paid for on March 12. I have gotten automated emails telling me that they are attempting to reach the vendor, which I assume Bush furniture, who I called and spoke with someone last week the first time I called. Why is it taking them so long to reach them in regards to my order? To say I am annoyed would be an understatement.
I have also left numerous phone messages with Shanmugasundaram at the virtual warehouse and have yet to receive a callback. I did have someone call me several days ago claiming my item should be here on the 11th, she did not sound confident in that statement though, so I am not convinced. If this item is not coming, I would appreciate a swift response telling me, as I have been running my office out of a cardboard box waiting for this desk.
Hi Joy,
I'm really sorry about the poor service that you encountered in connection with this order. I'd like to follow up on this for you, would you mind emailing me at socialmedia.service@officedepot.com with your order details and contact info? I'm confident that we can sort this out and make it right.

I normally don't write reviews here, but this experience made me so frustrated. I wanted to write this review and give suggestions to hopefully cultivate change. I agree with most here that I will no longer buy anything online from Office Depot. I will only buy products in stock at the store or go elsewhere if they don’t have it. In my case I ordered the item (a desk) at the store, but the desk was not in the store and had to be ordered.
The first thing they did was ship the table top of the desk and back order the legs. There was no phone call saying we don't have the legs or if you want it all shipped together. I mean common sense would tell you that the desktop is absolutely useless without the legs, so why not ship them together? There is no customer relations or concierge to walk orders like this through. I had to find out about the backorder via an email showing the shipping that the desktop was shipped without the legs. Had I not looked at the order I would have been very disappointed when the delivery showed up.
It seems like the complaints I see here are with large items (desks chairs, cabinets, etc.) or high dollar electronics (laptops, computers). For items like these there should be someone (US based) that acts as a concierge to make sure the item gets shipped properly and correctly without the hassles. If there is a problem (and a back order on desktop legs which makes it function is a problem) then you should get a phone call. Which brings up my third issue.
The offshore customer service is horrible. They never know what they are talking about. They constantly spew incorrect information, and they are hard to understand. I finally called them to ask about the legs. They could not tell me anything about when I would get them or if I would get them anytime soon. I had taken off work to wait for the delivery since the delivery windows are 8 hours. Now I am told it would not show up on the day I was promised delivery and I had to wait for a second delivery day for the legs. At that point I was so frustrated I decided to cancel the order, which would have meant I had to sit around the next day and refuse delivery. Luckily for me the courier service called me and the woman on the other line was very experienced, professional, and knew exactly how to cancel it. She canceled the shipment and I did not have to waste another day waiting.
Once I got the shipment canceled I noticed I was credited for the legs and not the desktop or the protection plan. So that meant another call to the customer service to find out about my credit. First she tried to tell me that the sale would drop off my credit card. I explained to her that was not true because you already took payment, which is also ridiculous. Not one these days takes full payment on partially shipped orders. Normally companies take payment on what’s shipped and not the whole order. When I told her the full amount was already taken she tried to backpedal and tell me that I would see a credit in a few days.
But she could not tell me when or how much. Then I confronted her about the protection plan. She told me that had been shipped and I would have to refuse delivery on it. It’s a protection plan. What delivery? There is nothing to refuse! I never took delivery on the desk so the protection plan should be refunded immediately. No questions asked! Why should I have to fight and monitor this when you know I did not take delivery? Again she tried to backpedal and say that you show the plans as a shipment and that’s the way you handle them. But you can clearly tell she did not know what she was doing or what she was talking about.
So now I will go back to the store to get the credit sorted out for the tabletop and the protection plan. Unfortunately, from what I read here, the store may not be allowed to process the refund since it’s was conveniently placed out of their hands when it was ordered and back ordered online. So it will be more runaround. As I said before, with a customer service concierge (US Based, I cannot stress that enough), and a little extra care, these situations can be avoided. No one wants to be given the runaround and made to feel as if you don’t care.
Updated on 04/05/2018: It is now April 5th and I still have not received a credit or heard back from Office Depot since April 3rd. I decided to take matters into my own hands: I called my Credit Card company and I disputed both the desktop and warranty charges. This is one time where I am glad I put the whole transaction on my credit card (at times I will pay cash for items like these). I figured I would let me credit card company wrestle with Office Depot. If I don't see the actual credit in the next 2 weeks the next stop will be the Missouri Attorney General where I will file a complaint. I think it's safe to say that Office Depot has lost my business. This is a huge hassle and it should not have been this way.
Hi Byron! Thanks for taking the time to document and share your experience, this is painful to read and very insightful in highlighting exactly where we have room to improve.
Would you mind sending me a follow up message with your email address and order details? I'd like to reach out to you and ensure that things are made right and I'd also like to review your shopping journey so that I can take action to address the points where we failed you.

I ordered a desk from Office Depot online and when it arrived, it was damaged by the carrier. I promptly reported the problem and I was told that another carrier would be by to pick it up in two days. We stayed home all day and nobody came. 16 phone calls and 14 days later, I still do not have a refund, and I have a huge desk in a box laying by my front door. Calls to Office Depot simply begin the process of arranging for a carrier who never comes. Calling corporate yields no success, and only routes your call back to the call center, which I assume is out of the country, given the thick accents of the 16 different agents I have spoken to.
Finally, I was able to get the local store manager to agree to come pick up the item. However, I have been told that I am not allowed to process a refund at the store for this item (furniture), but I am hopeful that the store manager will be able to figure something out. Moral of the story? If you want to purchase from Office Depot, ONLY do it at a local store where you can speak to an actual person who cares.
Hi Julie - I'm so sorry to read about this poor experience. This review was written while in a very frustrated state. Through multiple contacts, phone calls, support tickets and emails I was refunded the funds over the period of several days. I'm glad its over, wish it never happened, and its a harsh reminder of not becoming a complacent online shopper because the results may not be less than one would expect.

Don't trust online shopping at Office Depot and definitely don't use your PayPal account. Office Depot has some sort of way they trick PayPal buyers and charge their account without authorization or even any knowledge of it. PayPal security and fraud department hasn't caught onto the scam yet, but hopefully they will. Here's how the Office Depot PayPal scam seems to play out, (at least it did for me): A buyer uses Office Depot online to place order for pickup at the store. The store then changes the order number, to a new order number that is harder to trace, then doesn't contact the buyer to explain this an issue, it instead sends an email stating they didn't have the quantity requested and makes different charges to your PayPal account without your knowledge or consent. The original order and amount charged stay in your PayPal account and new charges are made.
They did this to me, but I refused my partial order and made sure they cancelled it. Then it took two days, multiple phone calls, emails and messages to PayPal to get Office Depot to refund the amount charged for the partial order that I refused and they cancelled. The original order made online for the full quantity still remains. The charges to my PayPal account are still there and Office Depot refuses to remove them. PayPal can't do anything about it because to them it appears as if the other amount is a different purchase because Office Depot changed the order number making it difficult to prove that there weren't two separate purchases made.
When I log into my Office Depot online account it doesn't show any purchases history, so it's virtually impossible to trace. They don't send an original order receipt either, so there's no way to track it via email. It's a very sneaky way to keep your money. PayPal claims that I have to wait 5 to 7 days to see if Office Depot will remove the false charge before I can file a dispute. Bottom line is that I'll never shop at Office Depot again and I'd strongly suggest anyone else doesn't either.

I ordered a laptop about three weeks ago with the anticipated delivery date of "three to five" business days. I received numerous emails (almost on a daily basis) constantly changing my delivery date. On the morning of March 14, 2018 I received a call from the Fraud Department of my bank inquiring why I had two identical charge amounts from Office Depot to my account, one being from Nevada and that my account was now frozen. After I sorted that out, I called Office Depot's Customer Service number and was told that the laptop was scheduled for delivery that very day. I also updated my email address at that time. Within 15 minutes I received a call from a "supervisor" at Office Depot informing me that my laptop order had been canceled and that he was canceling my order due to a "system error" and that he was sorry! He had very poor English. He gave me a refund number.
The very next day in reviewing my bank account they had actually charged me again! Here we go again... Three more phone calls to people that do not understand the English language until I insisted I be transferred to "someone in America". She was in New Jersey and no help at all and even questioned if I was reading my bank statement correctly because she could not see the charge I was referring to and to just dispute it with my bank! OK, now I am super frustrated and decided to try the "live chat" feature on their website. After being disconnected twice, I finally got a rep that told me I would get my refund as soon as I returned the product! Finally I convinced him that I did not have it and that it was Office Depot that canceled my order and he said I would get my refund in three to five business days.
Horrible experience. Do not order from Office Depot...ever! I now see a pending credit on my bank account but will not believe it until it is processed. I am sure I will now receive the following "canned response" because they send the same one to everybody that has an issue (I was also told this over the phone)... "Thanks for your feedback, I'm sorry we let you down. I'd also like to make this right and I'll have a member of our Executive Customer Relations Team reach out to you to sort this out."

I contact Office Depot customer service to refund me and they provided no explanation as to why they requested the items back before they were even delivered. Support tells me they will issue a refund. I receive the refund and then the next day (March 14) I am charged $2985.25 for nothing. Kept calling customer support and they also gave me the runaround. Did not honor the one year warranty. No one seems to want to help, store with tech depot advised me that I was SOL.
Contacted customer service several times, they tried to tell me my purchase only had a 14 day warranty, and two times wanted to force me to return the merchandise, which is NOT what I wanted to do. Luckily for me, laptop started working again after the battery ran out. Office Depot has very poor customer service, reps that don't know what they are doing, people who are unsympathetic. Will not buy any large ticket items from them again nor do I recommend anyone do so. On the day of delivery I received an email saying my order was in transit. The delivery window came and went and no chair had shown up. So, that is no big deal, it did say it was an estimated delivery date and I had the next day off too.
I would say at the very least if a company is not going to meet the expected delivery date they should send an email saying as much. At 1 hour till the delivery window was over I decide to call the 800 number in my email. I got the automated system that says it was shipped via UPS and gave me a tracking number; this goes against the email I got saying it was shipped via Courier Express. The number is not a UPS tracking number but I try it anyway to no avail.
At this point I opt to speak to an agent. They look up my order and tell me it is out for delivery with a 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm delivery window. Fine it was 4:00 pm. Now here I sit, after 6:00 pm and I still haven't seen that chair. The rug doctor I ordered through Amazon came in, as do all the orders I place through Amazon and many other companies. That is when I decided to look at reviews on Office Depot delivery. Had I seen these reviews before ordering, I would have opted for in store pick-up. This company is very obviously challenged when it comes to the delivery option.
If this is how you handle a first time customer I fail to see why anyone orders from them. Between the lack of communication and the obvious lie told by a service rep I am very likely to refuse delivery when it does come and call my bank for a charge-back. Yeah, I won't even ask for a refund after reading these reviews and people's horrible experiences.
Updated review: March 27, 2018
UPDATE: Shortly after posting my initial review, I received a message back from a contractor with "the Office Depot Resolution Team." The contractor confirmed that she considered the $40.00 "inconvenience" credit to be part of my refund, and authorized an additional credit of $3.52 in order to get to the full $348.14 refund amount.
In other words, it appeared that my refund would be coming in 3 chunks: $304.62 + $40.00 + $3.52, to be credited within 3 - 5 business days. Suffice it to say, I found this resolution to be pretty awkward, but was willing to accept it... once the full amount was credited back to my account.
Except it wasn't: the credit(s) never appeared. I checked my account daily for any credits from Office Depot, but saw nothing. So after 10 business days, I decided to take things to the next level. Since I live in Washington State, I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office: http://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint. Although it's described as an informal process (not a legal proceeding), it finally brought results. Within two weeks after filing my complaint, I received a very gracious note of apology, along with assurances of a full refund + a $50.00 electronic gift card from a representative of Office Depot's Executive Consumer Relations. Before the end of the next business day, the gift card was in my inbox and a full refund of $348.14 was credited to my card account.
So case closed. I've added an additional (third) star to this review, which reflects my satisfaction with the result (if not with the time/effort involved in getting there).
Original Review: Feb. 27, 2018
I am giving Office Depot two stars vs. the one I currently feel like giving, because a) I have ordered items online from Office Depot before without any problems; and b) I still believe the situation will ultimately be resolved to my satisfaction. But having been through 3 bouts of customer service "Calvinball" now, I no longer feel like working this out behind closed doors.
On 2/15/18, I ordered 2 Samsung monitors ("Samsung Series 3 23.6" Widescreen HD LED Monitor, LS24D300HLR") from Office Depot's website. I was billed $348.14 USD ($159.99 x 2 + $28.16 tax). As expected, I received two emails in sequence: the first confirming my order/payment and the second confirming that my order had been shipped. The latter provided tracking links to both Office Depot's site and UPS's, as well as an estimated delivery date of 2/16/18. Well, the 16th came and went without a delivery, but I didn't have a problem with that. After all, it was the Friday prior to a 3-day weekend, and I didn't really expect delivery in 24 hours anyway.
The following Tuesday, however, I checked the UPS tracking number for a delivery update, and discovered that there was no tracking information at all - just a note indicating that a label had been created, but the physical order wasn't even in the system! The status was the same on Wednesday, so I used the customer service "chat" function on Office Depot's site to inquire about it. I had a short, but very pleasant exchange with "Seth," who informed me that I could expect my order to be delivered on Friday (2/23). "Cool," I thought.
Friday came and went: no delivery, and the info on UPS's page remained frozen in time ("A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."). So, I resorted to the Customer Service Contact Form on Saturday to ask about it. I received a very pleasant and professional - and quite rapid - response from "Jas," who apologized for the delay and informed me that he had submitted a "Service Request" on my behalf to a "research team," who would get back to me 4 business hours. Since this was the weekend, I figured this meant Monday, and I was right. There was an email from "the Office Depot Resolution Team" sitting in my inbox bright and early on Monday morning. And here's the relevant part:
"As there is no update on the carrier tracking regarding the delivery date, we have processed the credit as we are unable to process reshipment for this order... We have credited an amount of $304.62 which will reflect back in your account within 3-5 business days. We kindly request you to place a new order for the same."
I kinda lost it at that point. As noted above, I was billed $348.14, and Office Depot apparently intends to refund me only $304.62 - an amount that is $43.52 less than what I paid (for no merchandise). And I have no idea where this number even came from: even if you toss in the $40.00 credit Jas offered me (which I thought was supposed to be compensation for my inconvenience, not part of a refund), I'm still $3.52 short. In addition, the promised credit(s) has yet to be logged back to my card account. While I have the money, I don't want to RISK the money: I'd be an idiot to submit (and be billed for) a brand new order, while the money I paid for the current order is still in limbo. Doubly so, because I'm not (at this point) even getting a credit for the full amount of that order. For the record, I immediately replied to the email raising the same concerns as above. I have yet to hear back from the "team".

I placed my first-ever order with this company and it was supposed to be delivered today. I got an email saying it was delivered but no package was left. I tried to look up tracking and it says that my order was delivered by a "third party carrier". Whatever that is - and there is literally no tracking number available. Not a very auspicious way to start - not sure why they don't use UPS, the postal service, and *anything* else reliable.
Dear Sharon - I'm so very sorry to read about your poor experience. What you describe does not represent the way that we intend to serve our customers and I'm sorry that we let you down. I recently ordered a computer desk on 1/31/18 for $210.59. I received the typical emails about my order was placed and I will receive a shipment notification shortly. Well 2 days later on 2/2/18 I received the email that said my order shipped and is expected to deliver 2/5/18. Several hours later on 2/2/18 I received an email saying my shipment was delayed one business day with no reason as to why. I ignored it thinking it would eventually ship.
Well I hear nothing until 2/7/18 that my shipment was again delayed one business day with no reason why. I reached out to Office Depot support and ask what was going on and they said that my order was delayed several times due to the weather conditions and that it should ship out shortly. It is now 2/14/18 and I have not received a single email since. I reached out again and they told me that "after several failed attempts your order has been returned to the warehouse and you will be refunded $189 in 3-5 business days". So that is a $21 loss and a huge waste of time. They never even elaborated on the "several failed attempts". What a joke. I am very disappointed.

I had one simple task to accomplish - update an e-mail address to my existing account. That was it. It wasn't complicated. After updating the information online, I received a confirmation e-mail from Office Depot/Office Max. When I tried logging back into my account. I found that I'd been locked out. I then contacted Customer Service using the live chat function, and it turned out to be a lengthy ordeal that made everything worse.
The live chat reps named Sam, Vic and a supervisor named Matt changed information in my account that I never asked them to change. Because of their rude, arrogant and unprofessional actions, I was then forced to set up an entire new account online, which I never should have been forced to do. This screwed up my phone numbers, my Rewards point access, and the list goes on and on. All I want at this point is to have a knowledgeable, customer-driven employee contact me and fix this huge mess that the live chat people created. I want my original account restored with my updated e-mail address, and the second account deleted. This is not how you treat customers!

Just this past weekend my bank account was negative because Office Depot charge me for the unit that I had previously cancelled. After texting and getting on the phone with their awful customer service I was basically told to wait for UPS stand at the door and make sure the package gets rejected because they are unable to do anything.
That is an outright lie. I called the customer service number and spoke to a nice young lady, who said that she sent information over to the warehouse not to ship the item. She was going to help me to place a new order but I declined the offer for fear the same issue happening again.
The aforementioned young lady said I would get an email that showed that the order had been canceled and that the charge to my card would just drop off, meaning the bank wouldn't take the money out of my account. I was fine with this knowledge. Now fast forward to February 6, 2018 and 5 more calls to customer service after the call on the 31st. Normally I wouldn't have been so irritated at this situation, but when I checked my bank account, it showed that the online charge to Office Depot did indeed clear my bank. That was tick number one on my mad meter.
After speaking with numerous individuals in two departments I was told that it would take them 3-10 business days to process my return, to I would get it today, to that I might get it today or tomorrow, by the end of business (unacceptable responses by this time) to, "Oh our application is showing that your account has been credited"; to which my transaction history with my bank shows that it has not been returned to me as of the writing of this review. Will I ever use the online store again, that would be a resounding NO! Will I shop in a physical Office Depot ever again, at this point even I'm questioning if that will happen in the near future. And I'm sad to say that my true rating would really be just an eighth of a star.

I tried purchasing this printer because my co-worker gave me a coupon for $50 off, which was an amazing offer. I set up the printer for home delivery because it would be more convenient for my schedule. After a week of no notification or tracking information, the printer finally ships; however, I wasn't informed that the someone needed to be home to accept the delivery, which I appreciate that policy. So after arranging someone to be at home to accept the package, Office Depot did not deliver in the window of time that they provided. Because I was getting frustrated with the wait, I called their customer service line to arrange store pickup, but for some unknown reason that was never explained to me, they couldn't setup my order for store pickup. So for one final attempt, I tried to have the package delivered and had someone at home to await for the delivery. NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP!!!
After that, I was annoyed and just wanted my refund. At the time of this review, I would now be two weeks that I would be waiting to get my money back, on top of having to request the refund twice because Office Depot cancelled my first request for some unknown reason. I have been calling about every day to check on the status of my refund to make sure it doesn't get cancelled AGAIN and none of the representatives can provide an certain time frame of when to expect my refund, why the first request was cancelled, and why I'm still waiting for it.
Unless you can catch this product on another sale AND purchase it at the store, I would not recommend this experience or purchase. Office Depot has not been helpful or considerate throughout this entire situation. In the time frame it has taken for me to just get my refund, I went out to Best Buy and bought a better printer for a cheaper price. Honestly, if you're looking for a recommendation... GO TO BEST BUY!!!

I contacted Office Depot and was told that delivery was attempted but access to my condo could not be attained. I was home during this time and all the delivery person had to do was press my apartment number on the outside keypad. That would have contacted my phone and I would have let the delivery person in the building. I was informed that delivery was scheduled for the following day, 2/1/18. I called Office Depot and was informed that the order had been delivered. The problem is that I never received it. My email concerning my order stated that it is still in transit.

I took my phone to Office Depot to get the battery replaced and during the process they broke my earpiece speaker and the front camera. After bringing it back to them they said they have to send it in, and that it would take no longer than five days. It has been a week and nobody has told me anything. I called and they said I could expect it today, but then I track it and it is across the state. It is store number 2661. I am just kinda fed up with them not telling me the truth and not communicating with me. Definitely will not use them again. They did not give me an order number or anything. This seems like a scam.

Every time I place an order with this company their drivers don't seem to want to deliver the package to the correct address. Customer service and the drivers for Office Depot suck really suck. I placed and order with Office Depot on Jan 17, 2018 for a scanner and white out. The white out made to me the next day with no problem. The scanner was suppose to arrive on wed Jan 24th and it never made. Office Depot never called me to let me know that there was a problem with the address. No instead the driver who never showed up saying the suite number is incorrect. Let me remind you they delivered the second item the next day with no problems. I called today to find out the whereabouts of my package for office depot to tell me that it's on its way back to the company.
Again when was Office Depot was gonna call me and inform me of my package. This makes the third time that office depot has done this. And then for customer service to make it look like it's my fault... How dare you. Customer service entered the address in the system when they asked me for it. Let just say the driver never came to NIH and he took the package home. You have the most lazy drivers I have seen. They know where I work and they have the address. So again the driver took the product and Office Depot is allowing it to happen. I want a full refund of the product and I will never order from this company again. I will also let the folks at NIH know how I was treated by Office Depot.

I was contacted by Marc from Office Depot's executive customer relations department soon after writing this review. He has kept me informed and up to date on my order's status since then, and he personally oversaw the delivery details. We received the Chromebook yesterday. and I am very satisfied with the customer service I have received since making my initial review.
Original Review: Jan. 23, 2018
I ordered a Chromebook in mid-December for my son's Christmas gift, only to find out it was on back order until Jan 22nd. The date finally arrived, but the chromebook did not. My husband and I emailed and called several times, and were told, "We'll call you back when we know something…" Finally I spoke with someone who would give me an answer (I had to call them, of course); she told me the delay was due to the "winter storm", and someone would call me back to let me know when I could expect it. I did finally get an actual callback later that day, only to be told the item was still on back order and would not ship until mid-February. During all of these calls, I got many apologies, excuses. and some flat out lies.
What I did not get were any offers to make things right. I had to ask - many times - for a promise of future communication about my order. The supervisor finally made a note in our order that we should be contacted when the item is ready to ship (not going to hold my breath) and reluctantly offered a discount on the item, which is apparently MY responsibility to call and ask for, once we receive the order. This was my kid's big Christmas present. We pooled $ with the rest of our family to buy it, since he needs it for school. We already had to ask him to wait for almost a month for it; I don't know what to tell him now since I have ZERO faith in the new date they gave me. He's going to be heartbroken.

My 12 year old daughter's laptop was purchased in May and has now quit working. My mother in law purchased the extended warranty in August. She has since passed away and I'm having the worst time getting any help to submit a claim. I went to the local store where I picked up the laptop originally and was told they couldn't do anything, not even print a duplicate receipt. I then called the receipt reprint number and they said they'd get back to me in 24-48 hours. I just called them back today, 10 days after the original call was placed. They apparently needed more info but didn't bother calling me. I then called SquareTrade (who the warranty is handled thru) and was met with the same resistance to help. They said I need to have the receipt. They can't even look up the product based on the serial number. I had to give my mother in law a picture of the serial number so that she could buy the warranty. It should be on file with SquareTrade.
All of this hassle for a laptop that's have been used less than 20 hours total since May! I'm now at a standstill as I have no options for getting this all sorted out. I've worked retail in the past and at that store we always did everything we could to help the customer. I feel like I've been stonewalled at every turn. My rewards have been getting stolen out of my account for months. I have called multiple time and each time they reissue the rewards. Once I get an email stating that I have the rewards back, I log in and the rewards are gone. They keep telling me that I have spent them but I have not. This has been going on for months. I finally left some back feedback on their Facebook posts and someone contacted me on Facebook and said they would look into it. She then accused me of using the rewards and trying to get more money out of them. I NEVER have even seen the rewards. It shows purchases where I earn the rewards in my history and it shows that I should have them but they never appear in my account. When I finally got the person on Facebook to realize that my rewards were being stolen she said someone would contact me and to change my password. I logged on to change my password only to find that my pending rewards were also gone now.
Office Depot owes me over $120 in rewards and they cannot even figure out why. From reading some reviews online it seems that others are having the same problem which means that one of 2 things are happening. 1) Someone is hacking Office Depot accounts and stealing reward money which would be horrible since if they can get into your rewards account they can also see saved payment info. Or 2) Office Depot has a major glitch in the computer system, but since you can never talk to someone in America on the phone, there is no way for them to figure it out since no one halfway around the world even cares about reward money being stolen. Hopefully someone will contact me who actually cares. I have been a customer for a long time and I will no longer buy anything from them until this is resolved and I can feel safe shopping on their website again.

Save yourself the trouble, and buy from Amazon, or a company competent enough to find your address. I live on a college campus, and so my mail is processed in a university building. Pretty simple right? I have not had an issue in receiving my mail, because it's really not that hard of a concept. I order things all the time from small companies who usually use small, independent shipping companies. You would think that the ones who have an issue finding my address would be the small shipping companies. Well, you would be wrong.
I called what felt like every customer service person for Office Depot, 3 times, and each representative assured me that the laptop would be delivered "tomorrow." It never was. I called the shipping company itself. They just assured me it would be delivered "tomorrow." I don't buy it, and fully expect to spend an hour tomorrow fighting with the shipping company in an attempt to get my package. TL;DR: Office Depot is not competent enough to find a simple address, save yourself the trouble and buy with amazon.

I ordered a desk and file cabinets from Office Depot online. My bank declined at first because it went to their antifraud process so the order was cancelled. I called the bank and they approved so I could go back and order. The first order was cancelled and I put a new order in and all of a sudden I had two orders. I called immediately and was told they had been sending emails to the fulfillment area to cancel but had not heard back. I called 4 times and was told the same thing. When I asked if I could call the fulfillment center I was told there was no phone number to call.
I eventually ended up having two sets of desks and cabinets delivered. It took numerous calls, emails, and a trip to the local Office Depot where their manager had to call to set up a return. A truck picked up the duplicate set a day later than we were told. Nov 16 I still have not seen my $853.96 refund, it's been weeks. In addition to that promotional payment I made my minimum payment on the 16th of September. My minimum payment was applied to my balance however, Office Depot held my promotional payment of September 21st and applied the entire amount to the balance as a minimum payment for OCTOBER and NOT my promotional balance. My October payment was NOT due until October 16. However, the COMPANY decided to place MY MONEY WHERE THEY WANTED TO. When I discovered the issue I called the company directly and I was told that the payment fell into the next month billing cycle.
However, both of the minimum and promotional payments were both made in the month of SEPTEMBER. My card is in good standing. I have not been late in YEARS!!! Every so called HIGHER SUPERVISOR I spoke with claimed that they would put the payment minus the minimum payment towards the promotional balance which is NOT HOW I DIRECTED FOR MY MONEY TO BE APPLIED. Up until this day NOVEMBER 11th, THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE!!! They post on their website that they are ethical and will not use underhanded schemes to get over on the consumer. But that is NOT TRUE! I was up to date with my minimum and applied money to my promotional balance in SEPTEMBER.
The "COMPANY" let my promotional payment sit until OCTOBER 16th and took the ENTIRE PAYMENT for a minimum payment that went directly to the balance owed and not the promotional balance! So if I was not attentive, then I would have thought I was paying the promotional balance off when in fact NOTHING HAS BEEN APPLIED TO THE PROMOTIONAL BALANCE. The company is staying in business because at the end of the day I will be responsible for the promotional balance along with ALL OF THE INTEREST BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS SCANDALOUS!!! This is not uncommon, however make sure if you purchase anything that you have them put it through online. Otherwise you are not able to exchange items if the store does not have it, you are screwed. Online will not ship replacements to the store.

I'd ordered a bookcase, to be delivered on November 1. Only they dropped it off a day early, without notifying me. It was much too large and heavy for me to get into my apartment on my own, so I called to complain. Another reason for my complaint has to do with the company they use to build the bookcase on site. They will only do that if the furniture is in the room where it is supposed to go. The customer service rep was sympathetic, but he suggested I ask a friend to help. What friend? I've lived here two weeks, and the only people I know around here are geriatrics like me.
Striking out with Office Depot, I decided my best bet was to wrestle the box, which was way taller than I am to the ground and bring it in piece by piece. Only, I lost control of the box, and it crashed down on the top of my foot. The only good thing was that I had on sturdy shoes. Even so, the force was strong enough to split the skin. I don't think it's broken, but it sure hurts. I finally called my son, an hour away, and asked him if he could drop everything and come help me. He did, so at least the box isn't out in the rain. Bottom line: I was home all day. Office Depot had my phone number. I can't believe it is company policy to dump boxes and run. But if it is, it should change.

This Company has the unusual practice of not refunding your money when an order is cancelled. Instead, they prefer to verify with their Shipper that the items were returned to the warehouse and placed back into inventory. Nearly two-weeks have passed after being issued a return confirmation number and I have yet to receive my $687.99. Calls to Customer Support are fruitless, as they promise to check with their Shipper and call back within 4-hours. Yet they never called back. Resulted in a dispute claim with PayPal to resolve.
Also, desk orders require an adult to sign during delivery. I can understand having someone sign for shipment of an expensive and easily stolen small item like a laptop or smartphone, but large 72 pound boxes requiring two people to move is a bit ridiculous. They do not tell you that during the ordering process, so if you work in the day and live alone, you may end up with the same problem. And there are no delivery windows, so you will need to take the entire day off from the office. Add that their store prices are higher than online, yet one can order online from their smartphone while at the store and leave with the discounted priced item seems ludicrous. This Company is a dinosaur and apparently has not learned the lessons learned and adopted by Best Buy and Amazon to succeed.

I looked at the receipt and I was given a next business day delivery. Well I sent the package on Friday and the delivery date was for Tuesday.
4 days later? I called FedEx. They told me to call the store, I called the store they told me to call FedEx, I went to the store to try to rectify the issue and the manager told me, "Sorry but there nothing I can do." The girl doesn't know. What? Why you don't teach your employees before you let them handling the customer? Called corporate, they said, "No problem we can rectify the issue. I call you back." Never heard from them. In the meantime I lost all that was in the cold package. Thank you Office Max. I will never ever go back there.

Please stay away from ordering and delivering online. My business furniture was not delivered by 5 pm (our closing time). Called the customer service dept at 4:45 and was told them we were guaranteed a 5 pm arrival. They said they had no way to contact the delivery people and could only note the account and would have them deliver it tomorrow. I asked what does the guarantee by 5 pm mean and her response was "We guarantee we will send you an email or phone call that it didn't show up." Really?
Delivery guy showed up at 6:20 pm to a locked office and gate and had called our office (left message) upset that we were not here. If it was not for our subcontractor who happens to come by at the same time and seen the furniture laying beside our locked gate and before the delivery guy left. I doubt I would have my furniture today. Also, when I contacted them it showed I signed for it? How is that if I was not here? Very upset and disappointed in Office Depot.

It's going on 3 month and here I am slaving myself to get my money back. Office Depot now has an amateur perspective from my family and I as well as with everyone we share this story with. Moral of the story, don't buy office/business material from this company called Office Depot as they will not take you serious and I speak from full experience along with frustration on this unsolved topic! While I was collating several copies I had made at the Office Depot La Crescenta store, the manager loudly scolded one of his young employees on the 'shop floor'. Finally, I made it clear that an employee must always be taken to task in the back office. The manager lit into me. "You have only been here for 20 minutes, etc., etc.". The fact that I paid $70 to retrieve data from a flash drive that turned out to be a 'half hearted' effort, another $13 for a flash drive and the cost of several copies I had made throughout the week clearly was of no consequence to this manager. Intimidating, bullying and humiliating single women customers in front of other customers in today's environment is a sick disease no less than that from the manager of this store who clearly does not respect those he perceives as vulnerable.

I am so furious with your lousy company. Office Depot is a terrible company. I purchased a defective printer online and it was picked up for return on August 16, 2016. I was credited $139.09 on that date. As of today September 12, 2017 I have still not received my refund on my credit card. The idiotic customer service girl told me that it's because of the hurricane. REALLY, what hurricane came the 3rd week of August, the 4th week of August or the 1st week of September, even up to September 8th?? What a stupid thing to tell a customer!
I will continue to email and spread the word about how terrible Office Depot business practices are. I am a single mother and a teacher in North Carolina, which is one of the bottom 5 lowest paid states in the USA. Your company wants to rip me off. That money was budgeted for September gas money. The more I type the worse I feel. You have no right to steal from honest hard working people.

I ordered Book Sox online for my son. It was my first time ordering online through this company. It seemed easy and convenient. When I made the purchase, It stated the the items were in stock and I received a confirmation number. I went to pick up the items the next day and the employee at the store informed me that my order was deleted and that they should've called me. I never received a call and I'm clueless as to when my money is being refunded. They said that they will automatically refund my money. I see that the money was taking out of my bank account at this point and that's all. They said they would complete my order for it to show deleted but then again I'm not sure when that happens as well. Now I will have to call tomorrow and investigate my issue further.
The store said that they didn't have it in stock and perhaps someone else purchased the items when I did. They also stated that there is sometimes a delay when the store reports their inventory to the online system. I'm not sure which is true. All I know is that I needed my order and relied on the information given and now I must chase my funds to make sure that I get my funds. In addition, I must now scramble to make the purchase elsewhere. What seemed to be an easy and convenient system turned out to be chaotic and time-consuming. I won't be ordering from here anymore. Obviously, this "system" is very disorganized.

If you haven't been convinced by all the other bad reviews, here is my experience: I was asked to order two filing cabinets for one of my company's satellite offices. I guess we had ordered them directly from the manufacturer but they were lost in transit and now we needed them within a week. The manufacturer was back ordered 3 weeks. Enter Office Depot. This was a Friday (8/4) and they said they could deliver by Tuesday (8/8) so I ordered them. Shipping confirmation gets emailed and the new date is Wednesday (8/9) -- no problem. But by Wednesday and again Thursday I am calling to figure it out and they are blaming the courier (which is their in-house courier) for the problem.
By the weekend, I have received a new shipping confirmation for a new order number (and incidentally a new order date) so on Monday I call to find out why. They say that it was the manufacturer that claimed to have them available but only just now supplied them. I asked why OD sent a shipping confirmation if nothing shipped... no real response. I asked if it was lost. "I can't say that it was lost..." Also, I confirmed with the manufacturer that this is bogus: they did not just supply the cabinets and they are still back ordered. Well anyway, I am promised over and over again that it will arrive by Tuesday (8/15) so I wait. The day comes and nothing. The next day nothing again. I call and now they are saying, "Well, on our end it says that it arrived but if you don't have it, we can ship again."
These are not cheap cabinets. Wouldn't you want confirmation that I didn't in fact have them if your courier says they delivered them? My guess is that there was nothing saying they had arrived or their courier is so unreliable that they don't trust anything reported from that end. Okay well I wanted a refund at this point. The woman asked, "What if we refund 10% for your trouble and ship it today with FedEx or UPS instead of our courier and we will eat the shipping cost?". So I approve that. Next day I have a shipping confirmation but it is NOT being shipped by FedEx or UPS but, rather, their ** in-house courier again. Called to confirm and got the same old guarantee that it will arrive on Monday (8/21)... Yeah right...

There was a manager there named Linda, not sure if she is still there, who earlier who answered questions about my printer and a sales rep/associate named Olivia who has also helped a lot. Offered a "free" checkup for laptop while making a purchase for an item not related to this by Salesman "Mark". Days later, laptop was very slow, a virus protection renewal placed doubts that I had not been scammed & worries that I might have & all that could happen further caused me to recall the "free VIP check up" offer, called and was told to bring right in. "Mark" was expert in sales 101 i.e.; talk about everything BUT what customer came for directly as fast as possible, leaving customer exhausted & open to agreement of non related services.
Although identified as scammer I admit I agreed IF THERE WERE SEVERE PROBLEMS TO FIX, however he insisted there MUST be many issues needed to have all in my laptop brought to workable condition. Was charged PRIOR to his even glancing into laptop $178.38 with agreement of FULL workable conditions when I returned next day, and everything would be FULLY placed back on to continue w/o any concern exactly as installed at the moment turned over to.
The following day I called as per his request, and he said "his boy" (the term for a co-worker) had let him down and nothing had been done, it would be another day or so. Now this is a direct counter to the agreement the night prior as where "Mark" relaid SEVERAL times in his fast salesman chatter, HE WOULD BE DOING ALL RELATED TO PERSONALLY, hence by his expertise there would be no worries about the expertise in all done to place my laptop in excellent condition. Three days passed in addition to the two already and heard nothing. Not a phone call, & still have the record of call log during those days to counter any claim(S) by OD of trying to reach me.
I was tired of waiting, so went to OD to find out status of laptop. I waited for "Mark" to finish with customer, then approached & he seemed to not recall me, nor the repair/checking/laptop at all for a few mins? Then he somewhat glared at me (obvious to my witness I had brought w/ me) & said "Wow, I wouldn't have recognized you, you look so different from the other night (**hello? Thought he did not recall one min ago). You should get some sleep" (??!?) & started off towards a cabinet, grabbed my laptop out of & thrust at me. I asked SEVERAL technical repair questions of reasonable venue, what was done? Was all replaced? Was the wifi issue now working? All of which he never acknowledged, only stating ALL MY MICROSOFT OFFICE HAD BEEN REMOVED AND UP TO ME NOW TO REINSTALL????
I was stunned, as I had told him (as noted on HIS paperwork accidentally placed inside laptop) I was unsure of and NOT to remove UNTIL located, & promised such. He said something to "whatever" and then addressed my wifi connection issue not as repaired, but it worked in there... There being the OD building I can assume. He walked off, and I was still in a state of shock, I left to return home & see what all had been achieved and deleted.
My fears were all validated, my laptop was WIPED, NOTHING reinstalled, even down to my wireless mouse no longer reading to connect. The insult being most recognized in all this mess, the wifi connection issue IS RIGHT BACK TO WHERE I HAD EXPLAINED I COULD NOT CONNECT BEFORE. I had to uninstall Windows 10 to allow connection long before I brought it in???
Calls are not returned, and now contacting the "corporations" number goes unreturned as well. Regretfully, I paid with debit card, leaving no way to hold payment until resolved. My error, nevertheless their company is responsible for reinstalling all, replacement of my Office (which comes w/ a high cost) my iTunes installed is irreplaceable, as my files? My everything holds no price, except the emotional, and financial cost I have to endure along with my professional name has been harmed, as the files for reference held had to be requested from the corporate offices I subcontract through, leaving questions to my abilities of professional knowledge. I forgot to include above that my back ups had been limited by the problem encountered prior to the request for "check up" with Office Depot. So fully aware of this, they knowingly removed EVERYTHING FROM THE LAPTOP WITHOUT A BACKUP OF THEIR OWN???
All leaves me without business prior and current until a solution is available, and accepting my mistakes included does not release OFFICE DEPOT FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES TO RECTIFY THIS!!!! None acknowledgement of this will not make it go away, & just infuriates me more. Being a consumer coming for professional advisement & repairs IF needed has not been provided, nor have they enriched my situation in any manner they would need to show to disagree in my requests of all.
Do not agree to any checkup/pay for prior to solutions being provided with this sketchy, manipulative company! I hope to find some way to rectify my situation soon, but very sure at this moment in time court proceedings will be my only method of resolve, but honesty I don't foresee my ability to financially continue that process to end, as I'm sure they will hold out longer than my retainer amount does. Ending with this is a cautionary tale to others not to engage with the technical support scamming allowed in Office Depot/OfficeMax.

I have been a member of the rewards program for 5+ years. I am considered a VIP member and spend 200-800 a month on supplies. The changes to the program have been continual and confusing. One minute the rewards are to be given out at the end of the quarter and now immediately. If that is the case why do I have some rewards that are pending? My biggest problem with the program is the way rewards are calculated and dispersed. One day the website says I have an amount pending and another amount available, then the next day, it says those amounts completely different.
I feel like something is weird with their system. I am not saying they are "cheating" people out of their due rewards, but, something is off. I have spoken to customer service multiple times and never get a clear answer. All I hear is "The rewards have been paid". BUT they haven't! I asked for a phone number to a manager or district manager who can answer some of my concerns and was told to call the 1-800-depot number. I have done this already with no resolve. I somewhat recently got my iPhone 6 battery replaced at Office Max. I am completely disappointed and regret my decision to do it there. First, it took a long time for the employees to find an employee that actually knew how to do it. I tried to make an appointment, but apparently that doesn't mean anything, because no one was expecting me. The battery that they replaced it with is just as bad as the battery that they replaced. It seems like the only way the replacement battery would be better is if the original battery was completely dead.
On top of that, my iPhone doesn't vibrate anymore. It seems to be too much of a coincidence to not be related to the replacement, especially after the employee went on about how they shouldn't replace the batteries in the first place because it is so easy to damage them. In short, I don't recommend replacing your cell phone battery here. If you have an iPhone, pay the extra money and just have Apple replace it. There was one customer service rep, **, in the print service department doing his best to handle every customers' needs of at least 7-10 people, plus the phones, during the roughly one hour I spent there. He told me it would be a while and it was understandable. He was able to scan one sheet but it came out slightly slanted so it needed to be redone. During the first (and only) scanning, he would assist other customers and that's how he had to handle most cases. What ended up happening was 2 or 3 of us would be waiting while he's already in the middle of helping someone else.
** was doing his best, courteous and had a great attitude. He suggested that instead of waiting, I could leave it there and pick it up the next day before noon and that someone would call. A great idea. He wrote a Project Folder and I purchased a brand new Sandisk USB. It was an empty acrylic box with no item in it. ** called for product pick up with no response. After a few minutes, he saw the one and only cashier on duty with no lines, he told me it might be quicker if I went to her. Did that, paid and got the new USB at the cashier line, went back to ** and paid for the scanning service. The next day, no calls. I went in around 3:30 pm the next day 5/31/2017.
This time there were 2 or 3 service reps in the department but no **. After finally locating my order, it hasn't even been started. When I called this morning 6/1/2017 at 9:30, I was told the printer is down and there's nothing they can do until it gets fixed which is another unknown and that I could go in for a refund. DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER FROM OFFICEMAX! I bought a Dell Computer at this store just to find out that 2 1/2 months later the motherboard goes out. OfficeMax doesn't care and bears no responsibility. Just wants to pass the buck onto Dell with zero resolve. I was told, "Not our problem", I guess when you take the chance of buying a large purchase and one you bank on to run your business at OfficeMax you take the risk of getting sub-par equipment. In the past I have always bought my computers at Best Buy and I have never had a problem with their merchandise but unfortunately I chose to stay in my community and spend my money in Apache Junction... BAD MISTAKE!

Worst experience ever with this company (Office Depot). We bought a small Fridge online, by 02/02/2017, were told will get it March 2nd. Didn't happen. Give them one more week. Still didn't happen... then we asked for a refund since the merchandise wasn't received. They told us tomorrow it will happen, tomorrow will happen, the next day it will happen... and now April 14th and still didn't happen. This was the first time to deal with this company and definitely the last. I will do my best to drive business away from this company.

Avoid doing business at Office Depot like the plague! I dropped off 11 pages to get faxed and was told it would take 15 minutes! Yeah! 15 minutes to fax 11 pages. When they were done (25 minutes later) the bill was over $23.00! To justify the high price I was told that since the number used was outside the prefix number for that store it is considered a long distance phone call by them. The store is in Greeley with a prefix of 970, they faxed to Denver with a prefix of 303 but this is not a long distance charged call. The phone company simply uses different prefixes due to the high number of users, but all calls are still considered and charged as local calls. Services were rendered and I paid the bill but I personally nor will my company ever spend a nickel in the store chain again. They stung me once but never again.

Made an in store order for office furniture and in home assembly on Saturday. I paid with my Bank Debit Card. 30 minutes later when I got home I realized all the furnishings would not fit, so I cancelled 1/2 the order. When I checked my bank they had not removed the charges from the cancelled portion of the order. I called the store who told me to call corporate, when I finally reached someone in corporate they told me to talk to the store - who sent me back to corporate. Finally someone in corporate says they will give me a call in 48 business hours to let me know when they intend to refund over $900.00 that was charged to my Debit Card.
I was promised the order on Tuesday which did not happen, so I called the store and the manager asked if I would like to give my Debit Card again so that she could just create a new order (which I did not give her), miraculously she found a way to get the furniture delivered to me on Saturday without charging my card again. Now on the Monday morning there was a knock on the door with someone trying to deliver a duplicate order, I turned him away. I am yet to receive my refund of over $900.00 and this is 7 business days later. Office depot corporate office speaks to me in a tone that they have all the time in the world to refund a debit card purchase. I'm not sure how they stay in business with their attitudes, but one thing I know for sure - this long time customer won't be doing business with Office Depot in the future.

Office Depot should be avoided at all costs! Our most recent experience has been another exercise in total futility. We wanted a small, inexpensive desk quickly so did an online search and the website said the desk we wanted was in stock at the local store. Off we go, only to find out that their inventory was wrong so it would require delivery. One week later, still no delivery! No excuse, no information, no nothing. One excuse we were provided was that "Your address isn't in GPS." Since our subdivision is new, of course it isn't. But the driver never attempted to call and ask directions, anything... just decided not to deliver.
Only action we got was when we rated our satisfaction a ZERO -- then the store manager called. We explained the situation. Guess the store and delivery service don't communicate because the store manager said he was as clueless as we were about the delivery!! Are you kidding me... this day in age no way to contact the delivery people directly? That is insane!! One week and counting on the missing desk.
Two years ago had similar issues with them. (You would have thought we learned our lesson.) Ordered an office chair for delivery. NEVER showed up on my doorstep. After numerous calls the driver insisted it was on my porch and I should just bring it in. Apparently they delivered it to the wrong address -- not just the wrong address, the wrong CITY! I was told in order to get a refund I had to prove it was not delivered. Are you kidding me!!! I begged to have a picture of them showing it sitting on my front porch but that never happened. I even checked every house in my subdivision and it wasn't there.
Office Depot and their delivery service have to be the most incompetent organizations in business today. There is NO excuse that they do not have any knowledge of delivery locations, status, etc. In regards to our latest issue (missing desk) the local store manager only got involved when we provided a low rating and to quote him, "Your low rating effects everyone at the store and their bonuses." How about doing great customer service simply because it's the right thing to do???

On February 17, 2017 I ordered a six pound packet of wintergreen paraffin wax. Instead I received a one pound packet of unscented wax. I called customer service and they credited my account and placed another order. A few days later the same thing happened. I received a one pound packed of unscented wax. I contacted them again but this time they said they needed to contact the manufacturer and would get back with me. They never did. I called again and spoke with a supervisor who swore she would handle this but she never did. I emailed them with no response. I took the wax to an Office Depot store only to be told that I could not return it there because it was not in their system. I tried calling the corporate headquarters but they don't answer the phone. A voicemail says leave a message. This has been extremely frustrating and to date, I have not received a refund for an item that was never delivered.

Of course they didn't have them in the store but we could order them for delivery. We had to find them on the store computer ourselves as the agent couldn't. OK we ordered them with some ink for the next day. Of course again they did not come until the 6th. And they sent the wrong labels. We called and finally got thru to someone who helped us find a similar label. Promised for next day. It is now the 10th and we still don't have.
Tried to get help online chat and they are sorry but cannot access order info. Have to phone store. Phoned store, same response even though I have my account # and an order number for some candy I bought at the same time in store. Phoned 800 number, tried to give me the same runaround but I insisted and they found it. Told me that they could not deliver on Wednesday the 8th (remember the "next day" promise) because of weather conditions. I am in Portland. What weather conditions. On top of everything, only the candy purchase went thru to my so-called Rewards program. No wonder I never get any points! This crappy service is getting worse, and unfortunately not just at Office Depot. T-Mobile same thing. Centurylink same thing. On and on. Consumers in Europe do not tolerate this type of service. A little over a year ago, I bought a laptop for work and a lifetime protection plan to go with it. Well a few months later, it's not working anymore. I take it back to the store since 1, they say they repair computers, and 2, I had bought a protection plan. The guy working there tells me that it could be any number of things but they have no way of finding out what it is so "I don't know, maybe call HP?" Frustrated, I take it to a computer repair shop. They tell me immediately what the problem is and that all it needs is a screen replacement (the part that broke was attached to the bottom of the screen on the inside) and that they can replace it easily, but since it's still under warranty from OfficeMax, it may be easier/cheaper to just see if they'll replace it. So I take it back a few days later and tell them I just need a screen replacement.
This time, the guy working the computer repair desk puts me on hold with some 800 customer service line, who after getting various information for over twenty minutes tells me that they'll just email me a shipping label, have me mail my computer to them (and pay whatever shipping costs necessary), and once they see that it's shipping, they'll send me a $200 gift card. At this point, I'm just pissed off but agree to it anyway. It's been over a month and I still haven't even been emailed this apparent shipping label. If I could go back in time, I never would have even stepped into OfficeMax to buy my computer. Worst store ever and I love office stores/supplies. Don't ever go there! They SUCK!

Instead of correcting the issue I was told I had to wait 7-10 days for a refund and to make it worse I had to restart the order as a new order and have lost 2 weeks time. Not only did they lose and damage the order on top of it, I had to tell them there was a problem and now I must wait 2 weeks for a refund. This may seem trivial to some people, but I am incredibly frustrated with Office Depot right now. Last year I bought some PaperPro staplers through Office Depot and all of them were $25/each and are quite possibly the biggest pieces of junk I have ever wasted money on. I have tried on 5 separate occasions to leave a negative review for these staplers and each time my review is rejected. I have wasted valuable time composing high quality reviews (per their suggestions), breaking down specifically what has failed and what I do and do not like, even including pictures of the malfunctioning products, only to have them almost immediately reject the review after submission. I have followed their review guidelines to a T to make sure that I did not violate any of their guidelines ensuring my review would be published online to warn other customers about this poorly made product.
The only reason that I can come up with as to why this is happening, is because Office Depot is being compensated in one way or another for keeping negative reviews on certain products to a minimum so as to not allow the products rating to fall below a certain level. I am a big review reader, I base most all of my purchase decisions mainly on the products online reviews. I feel it is deceptive and dishonest to filter reviews in this manner. I will not spend any more of my money at Office Depot. As a matter of fact, I made an order shortly before I tried one last time to post a review. It was rejected within a matter of minutes. I promptly cancelled my order and went to Staples. Even though I had an Office Depot coupon applied to my order, I ordered the same items from Staples and saved over $50 (and I had no Staples coupon!).
Office Depot has lost my business for good. After they merged with OfficeMax things have gone downhill. The website is always having some sort of issues, my rewards points are sometimes applied and sometimes not... Sometimes it shows I have reward points to redeem but then I am unable to redeem them. Also, a few weeks ago I had a back ordered item ship and when it arrived the envelope was empty and it took me talking to 3 separate customer service reps to them to re-ship my missing item. I am usually a very patient person, but for some reason them repeatedly rejecting my reviews for absolutely no reason is really irritating me and that was sort of the straw that broke the camel's back.

That being a Friday, I called CS Monday morning, and was told delivery service had a invalid phone number and would have to reschedule for 12/13/16.
Delivery date comes, no delivery. Instead delivery service called me to inform me that items came in damaged and would have to reorder. At that time I went to Saunders website whom makes the furniture and found an affiliate company with the same items for far less than OD plus free shipping.I must say that OD has been fairly helpful to a point, but allowing the delivery service they have to continue to rip people off is unacceptable. I showed the associate at the pickup desk the order # I had written down and I described the item, which she couldn't find. A gentleman who was already being served (printing services customer) overheard and told her he just saw a young man remove this item from the pickup counter and take it toward the back of the store. The lady just persisted in looking around the area behind the counter, still not finding my item. I was pressed for time but thought I had allowed more than enough to complete this transaction, so my patience began to wear thin.
After a wait of about 3 minutes another store clerk showed me a spindle that was a different brand than what had supposedly been held for me, with no real explanation for the substitution. I said it would do. No apology was offered, nor was there any comment on what the whole mix-up was about. I did get a look at the young man who was seen taking my purchased item back into the store. I went online to order printing of documents requested by a court for work. Long time ago, before the merge, I did this online and, as long as you didn't need it right away, they did a good job. If you go in person, they did a good job. However, I needed it within 2 days. Not a large or complex order. The website says they won't charge your card until pick up and you can pay in cash in person (what I planned to do). But you have to leave a card. So I did. *Also, at each step the estimated time of delivery jumped 5 days. Through three screens the estimated time went from a few days to a week and a half.
Apparently they immediately charged the card and someone from India calls the next day and leaves a message. Says my card did not go through so they were not going to go through with the order. I had deposited money on the card but assumed that since they said they would charge at pick up, and it wouldn't be ready for a couple days, it would be fine. I call back the number he calls me on -- not in service. I cancel the order online and reorder with another card.
Fast forward over a week from my original order - still nothing. They had charged my card immediately so I couldn't go to another company as I no longer had sufficient funds to cover a new order. Finally I got my money back after I got an email -- a week later-- confirming my order the order, saying it would be another week until it would be ready at my local store.
Cancelled again. Finally was able to order from FedEx. They always have it ready the same day even if I order online. It's just far from where I live. It was only 15 copies of a document with binding and paperstock covers. Shouldn't take 2 weeks to do. If the website says no charge until pick up -- then they shouldn't charge until pick up. Now the documents are way past due and I have to figure out how to get myself out of this mess.

I do the purchasing for our company, and Office Depot just lost our business. We ordered a desk/hutch set online - to be delivered. They delivered 3 huge boxes. The next day, after dragging these EXTREMELY heavy boxes up the stairs, we realized they sent (2) Box 2 of 2's. They DID NOT send Box 1 of 2. I called Customer Service immediately. They were very apologetic/helpful and said someone would call me back within 4 hours to reschedule the correct delivery. After waiting FIVE hours, I called back. They informed me that the rep had been mistaken. They don't make those calls on weekends, but someone will call Monday morning to schedule the correct delivery.
No call Monday, but I did receive an email stating, "We do apologize as you have not received the item yet. Upon checking the order detail we do see that this order was short . So, we have processed reshipment on behalf of Office Depot for your satisfaction. Reshipment confirmation # **. This order will be delivered on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM to the below Address: For further assistance call back customer service @ 888 463 3768. We also ensure that this will not happen in your future orders." Today, 11/2, I called to narrow down the delivery time and was told "the order had been canceled."??? The rep couldn't tell me WHO or WHY it had been canceled.
I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and was told "She is on another line, but will call you back as soon as she's off the phone." (I think that line is the first lie they teach their reps when they get a job there.) Four hours later, no call from the supervisor. (She must have been on a REALLY long phone call.) So, I called back. I spoke to a rep who seemed to know what she was talking about, told me she noted everything that had occurred, explained what she thought happened as far as the canceled order, and assured me we would receive the correct box on Friday. (She even said "ask" instead of "aks".) Then, I received the Return Email.
It showed two exact same desk item #'s being picked up. (So...they are picking up BOTH Box 2 of 2's and delivering Box 1 of 2 so we are STILL stuck with only 1 box?!?) I called back and spoke to a complete moron. She listened to me and said she "fixed it" but when I asked her to tell me exactly WHAT was being picked up and exactly WHAT was being delivered on Friday, all she could say was "the desk" (no box #, nothing.) I told her I REALLY needed to make sure this was correct because every stupid mistake was causing delays for our business.
I asked her to send me an email while still on the phone with exactly what was being shipped/picked up. It never came. I asked to speak to her supervisor. Guess what she said? "She is on another line, but will call you back as soon as she's off the phone." I told her I would hold...she said she would take my info and she would call me. No thank you - I'll hold. Supervisor never answered. Office Depot is a joke. Run by morons, they have no concept of customer service. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. I have literally wasted an entire day trying to remedy a mistake that THEY made. I am pretty sure that they will be here Friday with two more Box 2 of 2's and they will pick up the previous two Box 2 of 2's. My biggest regret is that I didn't listen to my boss and buy QUALITY FURNITURE. Save a buck...waste a day and your sanity dealing with ignorant people who can barely speak the language.

Just stay away from Office Max and Depot online, as well as in stores. No manners, not respect, no customer support! Only lies and fraud. To name several, first: SOUTH JORDAN, UT - MANAGER - THE RUDEST AND MOST UNFRIENDLIEST, UNEDUCATED AND ARROGANT PERSON I ever met. He kept lying and misleading, charging wrong amounts and that while telling me "the rewards will show on your next statement" and the first purchase I made I had realized that and returned it right away only to prove him wrong, which he was so unhappy with and could not keep up with his lies and fraud and knowing I was right the only thing left for him was to yell at me not to come again to his store!! Let me just add: I returned ALL I just bought and the credit was $75 less than what I had paid. Interesting math they have with all "the rewards and deals".
That was not the only time. I needed longer to learn my lessons, unfortunately. Customer service: YOU ARE LUCKY IF THEY EVER WORK or if you can understand them once you reach them and then good luck if they care, because they do not help in any way...and as a business customer you seem to have fallen from Mars and they do not have a clue what to do and where to transfer you, so you hold forever and then you get hung up on. Therefore you are not getting any help nor anything resolved. Online order through the store by store employee got delivered in wrong color, wrong item and overcharged by $500. With proof and calls to district management all they offered was to take it back and refund the amount paid within 30 days. (I laughed...same as with the wonderful rewards that never came.)
Got one laptop for "A good price", was charged for two for the low price I was given therefore it ended up being more than the reg price. What a nice trick and scam...again to dispute it. Hahaha. Two brand new laptops died on the same day because one was purchased as an open box item and had ransomware on it. The sec I connected them, both hard drive were damaged beyond repair. Called and troubleshot with manufacturer, even had in writing from Dell to return to the store, but PHILIP **, AKA Store Manager of DRAPER STORE (I am so glad I am no manager, that title means as much as "screwing people over and that with disrespect and without any guilt"...and if they all can call themselves managers, I really wonder what the real managers should be named now.)...
So Mr. PHILIP from that Draper store, thought he would only help me if I agree on the spot to pay over $300 for technical support services, (which would not cover any damage on the devices anyhow because viruses are not covered and the first year it is up to the manufacturer), good trick to get someone who worked for HP to sign up for your useless protection... Haha. He did not like that I was going to consult with my partner first and did not help but tell me that I need to leave his store. It was a waste of time and he could not help me although I was only 1 day over the 30 day return period (which he did not even know was that long for business clients!!), and I had spent 3 hours at the store to have him tell me that there is nothing he can do and I just wasted $1200...(unless I pay him $300 and then he would have to ask his manager who of course was not available...) if that was ok.
When I said to charge it on my acct he said he could not because they were not open any longer (horrible). Long story short, this whole store and company and its employees, almost each one of them are the biggest nightmare, and this is the most corrupt and fraudulent retailer that is still left around...but not for too much longer and that is good to know. On top of that all employees are always only standing around and have nothing to do, but do not help you either...nor do they care about customers and about your purchases. I have been disappointment every time I crossed my feet into their store or tried to dial their number. CUSTOMER CARE AND SERVICE are not known to them and they really do nothing but rip you off and probably put it in their own pockets. Good for all of us that they are closing their stores. Can't it be sooner please.
I only wonder where all these lying and misleading and fake and fraudulent people will work next and continue treating customers with such disrespect and arrogance, with belittling and instead of being thankful that one comes in and they got jobs they yell and treat one so that one will not only never again go in but take further legal steps so that this scam finally can take an end.

On September 6, 2016, I went to OfficeMax to ship a chromebook to Asus for keyboard repair through fedex. I had them wrap the chromebook, figuring they knew best how to package it for transport. When Asus received it, the chromebook was dented and the left side of the screen was smashed. I tried to file a claim with Fedex but was told that because OfficeMax shipped the item, they had to file the claim. After some back and forth I got OfficeMax to file the claim. During this entire process I was the one making the calls and keeping the process moving. The claim was approved by Fedex on the 5th of October and mailed to the OfficeMax corporate office in Boca Raton Florida. Now remember, I live in the Chicagoland area.
In addition, the check was made out to OfficeMax not to me. When I contacted Cameron, the OfficeMax Manager, he told me that the check was in Florida and, MAYBE, I'd be reimbursed in six to eight weeks. Then to add insult to injury he told me that the damage to my chrome book was not their fault. So as it stands. I am out the cost of the chromebook, the cost of the shipping for a total of 275.00 and OfficeMax gets a 100.00 payout from Fedex. How does that work?

I pay for a printer that needs delivery - they say the next day. A week later no printer. So I go in again and wait 30 minutes when a rep on the phone tries to figure it out. It is "lost in transit". So I cancel the order. They say the refund will appear on my bank CC. It does not -- Office Depot tries to make me a member and gives me a credit for the money! You got to be kidding. It never arrived. It was not even a return and no credit on my account when canceled. You got to be kidding. Awful.
