    Updated review: March 6, 2018

Two week ago, I was contacted by Office Depot Executive Consumer Relations support. The item was picked up and I got my money back. Thanks Office Depot.

    Original Review: Feb. 7, 2018

I purchased a HP color Laserjet 5225 thru Officedepot.com on December 2017, when I received the product I was using it with letter size paper and the problem started when I return from holidays (2 weeks out of town) on January when I first try the envelope #10. I called to HP customer service to try to figure out why the envelope came out wrinkle, we tried different configuration on computer and printer without success and the HP support team told me the fuser is too hot, that's why the envelope came that way.

After that I called Office Depot to return the printer, a week later I got a email from Virtual Warehouse Research Specialist that they couldn't accept returns if is more than 30 days from the date of purchase and this order was placed on Saturday, December 2, 2017 and was delivered on Friday, 12/08/2017. If I had known at the beginning that I was going to have this problem obviously I would have returned it before, but I started to use envelope #10 on January. I'm calling to Office Depot several times and I am still waiting a favorable solution. I need to return it to get the credit store to buy other printer, I don't want my money back. I'm so sad because I am very frequent client from Office Depot.

I order some items online on 2/5/2018 and was told by a confirmation that it was to be delivered on 2/6/2018 between 830am and 530pm. It never arrived and I was never contacted by Office Depot or the carrier. Today on 2/7/2018 I was told the delivery company was a third party and that a delivery would be made before 4.30pm. Again no delivery. Everyone is pointing at the other for blame. I bought from Office Depot and that's who is responsible for my merchandise.

On Wednesday January 31, 2018 I decided to purchase a external hard drive/flash drive bundle. I had it set up for store pick up, but when I checked my confirmation email it had it as a home delivery. I called the customer service number and spoke to a nice young lady, who said that she sent information over to the warehouse not to ship the item. She was going to help me to place a new order but I declined the offer for fear the same issue happening again.

The aforementioned young lady said I would get an email that showed that the order had been canceled and that the charge to my card would just drop off, meaning the bank wouldn't take the money out of my account. I was fine with this knowledge. Now fast forward to February 6, 2018 and 5 more calls to customer service after the call on the 31st. Normally I wouldn't have been so irritated at this situation, but when I checked my bank account, it showed that the online charge to Office Depot did indeed clear my bank. That was tick number one on my mad meter.

After speaking with numerous individuals in two departments I was told that it would take them 3-10 business days to process my return, to I would get it today, to that I might get it today or tomorrow, by the end of business (unacceptable responses by this time) to, "Oh our application is showing that your account has been credited"; to which my transaction history with my bank shows that it has not been returned to me as of the writing of this review. Will I ever use the online store again, that would be a resounding NO! Will I shop in a physical Office Depot ever again, at this point even I'm questioning if that will happen in the near future. And I'm sad to say that my true rating would really be just an eighth of a star.

I tried purchasing this printer because my co-worker gave me a coupon for $50 off, which was an amazing offer. I set up the printer for home delivery because it would be more convenient for my schedule. After a week of no notification or tracking information, the printer finally ships; however, I wasn't informed that the someone needed to be home to accept the delivery, which I appreciate that policy. So after arranging someone to be at home to accept the package, Office Depot did not deliver in the window of time that they provided. Because I was getting frustrated with the wait, I called their customer service line to arrange store pickup, but for some unknown reason that was never explained to me, they couldn't setup my order for store pickup. So for one final attempt, I tried to have the package delivered and had someone at home to await for the delivery. NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP!!!

After that, I was annoyed and just wanted my refund. At the time of this review, I would now be two weeks that I would be waiting to get my money back, on top of having to request the refund twice because Office Depot cancelled my first request for some unknown reason. I have been calling about every day to check on the status of my refund to make sure it doesn't get cancelled AGAIN and none of the representatives can provide an certain time frame of when to expect my refund, why the first request was cancelled, and why I'm still waiting for it.

Unless you can catch this product on another sale AND purchase it at the store, I would not recommend this experience or purchase. Office Depot has not been helpful or considerate throughout this entire situation. In the time frame it has taken for me to just get my refund, I went out to Best Buy and bought a better printer for a cheaper price. Honestly, if you're looking for a recommendation... GO TO BEST BUY!!!

I contacted Office Depot and was told that delivery was attempted but access to my condo could not be attained. I was home during this time and all the delivery person had to do was press my apartment number on the outside keypad. That would have contacted my phone and I would have let the delivery person in the building. I was informed that delivery was scheduled for the following day, 2/1/18. I called Office Depot and was informed that the order had been delivered. The problem is that I never received it. My email concerning my order stated that it is still in transit.

I took my phone to Office Depot to get the battery replaced and during the process they broke my earpiece speaker and the front camera. After bringing it back to them they said they have to send it in, and that it would take no longer than five days. It has been a week and nobody has told me anything. I called and they said I could expect it today, but then I track it and it is across the state. It is store number 2661. I am just kinda fed up with them not telling me the truth and not communicating with me. Definitely will not use them again. They did not give me an order number or anything. This seems like a scam.

I placed an order for office desk during Thanks Giving 2017. 2 boxes of same type delivered weighing 45 kg each i.e. 90 kg total. I called Office Depot about the issue and ask them to replace one of the box 2/2 with the correct box 1/2. Office Depot sent a fresh set of new boxes 1/2 and 2/2 - Desk issue resolved.

Previously sent 2 boxes 2/2 are still lying at my home. I have called at least 4 times for someone to collect them. Once UPS came with the wrong label of 1 box weighing 2 pounds. There have been service requests after service requests for the same issue but no resolution. They want me to drop two 45 kgs boxes at UPS location that too without any label being sent. How complex is to arrange pick up after 4 to 5 calls?

Every time I place an order with this company their drivers don't seem to want to deliver the package to the correct address. Customer service and the drivers for Office Depot suck really suck. I placed and order with Office Depot on Jan 17, 2018 for a scanner and white out. The white out made to me the next day with no problem. The scanner was suppose to arrive on wed Jan 24th and it never made. Office Depot never called me to let me know that there was a problem with the address. No instead the driver who never showed up saying the suite number is incorrect. Let me remind you they delivered the second item the next day with no problems. I called today to find out the whereabouts of my package for office depot to tell me that it's on its way back to the company.

Again when was Office Depot was gonna call me and inform me of my package. This makes the third time that office depot has done this. And then for customer service to make it look like it's my fault... How dare you. Customer service entered the address in the system when they asked me for it. Let just say the driver never came to NIH and he took the package home. You have the most lazy drivers I have seen. They know where I work and they have the address. So again the driver took the product and Office Depot is allowing it to happen. I want a full refund of the product and I will never order from this company again. I will also let the folks at NIH know how I was treated by Office Depot.

I was contacted by Marc from Office Depot's executive customer relations department soon after writing this review. He has kept me informed and up to date on my order's status since then, and he personally oversaw the delivery details. We received the Chromebook yesterday. and I am very satisfied with the customer service I have received since making my initial review.

    Original Review: Jan. 23, 2018

I ordered a Chromebook in mid-December for my son's Christmas gift, only to find out it was on back order until Jan 22nd. The date finally arrived, but the chromebook did not. My husband and I emailed and called several times, and were told, "We'll call you back when we know something…" Finally I spoke with someone who would give me an answer (I had to call them, of course); she told me the delay was due to the "winter storm", and someone would call me back to let me know when I could expect it. I did finally get an actual callback later that day, only to be told the item was still on back order and would not ship until mid-February. During all of these calls, I got many apologies, excuses. and some flat out lies.

What I did not get were any offers to make things right. I had to ask - many times - for a promise of future communication about my order. The supervisor finally made a note in our order that we should be contacted when the item is ready to ship (not going to hold my breath) and reluctantly offered a discount on the item, which is apparently MY responsibility to call and ask for, once we receive the order. This was my kid's big Christmas present. We pooled $ with the rest of our family to buy it, since he needs it for school. We already had to ask him to wait for almost a month for it; I don't know what to tell him now since I have ZERO faith in the new date they gave me. He's going to be heartbroken.

My 12 year old daughter's laptop was purchased in May and has now quit working. My mother in law purchased the extended warranty in August. She has since passed away and I'm having the worst time getting any help to submit a claim. I went to the local store where I picked up the laptop originally and was told they couldn't do anything, not even print a duplicate receipt. I then called the receipt reprint number and they said they'd get back to me in 24-48 hours. I just called them back today, 10 days after the original call was placed. They apparently needed more info but didn't bother calling me. I then called SquareTrade (who the warranty is handled thru) and was met with the same resistance to help. They said I need to have the receipt. They can't even look up the product based on the serial number. I had to give my mother in law a picture of the serial number so that she could buy the warranty. It should be on file with SquareTrade.

All of this hassle for a laptop that's have been used less than 20 hours total since May! I'm now at a standstill as I have no options for getting this all sorted out. I've worked retail in the past and at that store we always did everything we could to help the customer. I feel like I've been stonewalled at every turn. I can't be the only person who doesn't have the original receipt.

My rewards have been getting stolen out of my account for months. I have called multiple time and each time they reissue the rewards. Once I get an email stating that I have the rewards back, I log in and the rewards are gone. They keep telling me that I have spent them but I have not. This has been going on for months. I finally left some back feedback on their Facebook posts and someone contacted me on Facebook and said they would look into it. She then accused me of using the rewards and trying to get more money out of them. I NEVER have even seen the rewards. It shows purchases where I earn the rewards in my history and it shows that I should have them but they never appear in my account. When I finally got the person on Facebook to realize that my rewards were being stolen she said someone would contact me and to change my password. I logged on to change my password only to find that my pending rewards were also gone now.

Office Depot owes me over $120 in rewards and they cannot even figure out why. From reading some reviews online it seems that others are having the same problem which means that one of 2 things are happening. 1) Someone is hacking Office Depot accounts and stealing reward money which would be horrible since if they can get into your rewards account they can also see saved payment info. Or 2) Office Depot has a major glitch in the computer system, but since you can never talk to someone in America on the phone, there is no way for them to figure it out since no one halfway around the world even cares about reward money being stolen. Hopefully someone will contact me who actually cares. I have been a customer for a long time and I will no longer buy anything from them until this is resolved and I can feel safe shopping on their website again.

Then Office Depot charged us for another laptop... so now we have in our possession 1 laptop and were charged $1400 in one day for 3 laptops...

After 3 weeks we received the refund for one of the extra laptops that Office Depot overcharged us.The second laptop that we never ordered was delivered to our house... we were unable to refuse the package because UPS dropped it off and left. Now Office Depot - will not take back the package. They keep saying they have arranged for a UPS driver to pick up this laptop - that we never ordered and were still charged $401 for - and no one is showing up. I call every day and hear the same thing 3-5 business days when they pick up this package. This has been going on for 5 weeks now. Just to recap they took an extra $890 from our account and shipped us a laptop we never ordered and have yet to refund us $400... I have talked with 11 customer service representatives to date and not a single one of them knows what they're doing which is why we are in the position that we are in. The communication between USA mainland and India is ZERO, do you like talking to people you can’t understand and have a "canned answer" for you. Well I have been thru this twice in a row and got nowhere other than having to stop payment on a huge purchase because Office Depot does not have a clue and does not care. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE ** UNLESS YOU ENJOY wasting your time and getting nowhere other than in the end stopping payment on your credit card which I have done twice in a row and yes it is my last. This company sucks so bad. It’s pathetic!

Save yourself the trouble, and buy from Amazon, or a company competent enough to find your address. I live on a college campus, and so my mail is processed in a university building. Pretty simple right? I have not had an issue in receiving my mail, because it's really not that hard of a concept. I order things all the time from small companies who usually use small, independent shipping companies. You would think that the ones who have an issue finding my address would be the small shipping companies. Well, you would be wrong.

I called what felt like every customer service person for Office Depot, 3 times, and each representative assured me that the laptop would be delivered "tomorrow." It never was. I called the shipping company itself. They just assured me it would be delivered "tomorrow." I don't buy it, and fully expect to spend an hour tomorrow fighting with the shipping company in an attempt to get my package. TL;DR: Office Depot is not competent enough to find a simple address, save yourself the trouble and buy with amazon.

Office Depot's Executive Customer Relations became involved in this issue and resolved it. Diane, the representative I worked with seemed truly appalled by what happened and made efforts to make it right. Based on her commitment to resolving the issue, I would definitely use Office Depot and shop in their stores.

I ordered a desk and file cabinets from Office Depot online. My bank declined at first because it went to their antifraud process so the order was cancelled. I called the bank and they approved so I could go back and order. The first order was cancelled and I put a new order in and all of a sudden I had two orders. I called immediately and was told they had been sending emails to the fulfillment area to cancel but had not heard back. I called 4 times and was told the same thing. When I asked if I could call the fulfillment center I was told there was no phone number to call.

I eventually ended up having two sets of desks and cabinets delivered. It took numerous calls, emails, and a trip to the local Office Depot where their manager had to call to set up a return. A truck picked up the duplicate set a day later than we were told. Nov 16 I still have not seen my $853.96 refund, it's been weeks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, they have deceptive and fraudulent business practices!!!

Ordered a chair by calling Office Depot. Was supposed to be delivered on 21st Nov. Tracked the order and the tracking indicated that the chair was right on schedule and was in town. However did not arrive. New tracking indicated that due to local delay it would be delivered on the 22nd. It did not arrive on the 22nd. Then there was absolute cutting off of the tracking. Total silence. No emails or link explaining the location of my chair. Waited several days and finally called Office Depot on the 27th of Nov. First time they could not locate the chair at all even though they admitted it had not been delivered.

After waiting on the phone for 1/2 an hour the agent informed me that she could not do anything on her monitor and suggested I call them back and get another agent. She apparently could not transfer me. I called back and the new agent could not locate the chair after a long wait. She indicated that the carrier was not responding. By this time I was ready to slam the phone down because they were not taking any responsibility of locating or even ensuring when it would be delivered. Finally in disgust I cancelled the order. THIS IS THE LAST TIME I SHOP ONLINE OR AT THE STORE. WASTED HOURS ON A STUPID ORDER.

I purchased a computer with a promotional. I signed up to pay my promotional balance and directed a payment to go directly to the promotional balance on September 21st. In addition to that promotional payment I made my minimum payment on the 16th of September. My minimum payment was applied to my balance however, Office Depot held my promotional payment of September 21st and applied the entire amount to the balance as a minimum payment for OCTOBER and NOT my promotional balance. My October payment was NOT due until October 16. However, the COMPANY decided to place MY MONEY WHERE THEY WANTED TO. When I discovered the issue I called the company directly and I was told that the payment fell into the next month billing cycle.

However, both of the minimum and promotional payments were both made in the month of SEPTEMBER. My card is in good standing. I have not been late in YEARS!!! Every so called HIGHER SUPERVISOR I spoke with claimed that they would put the payment minus the minimum payment towards the promotional balance which is NOT HOW I DIRECTED FOR MY MONEY TO BE APPLIED. Up until this day NOVEMBER 11th, THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE!!! They post on their website that they are ethical and will not use underhanded schemes to get over on the consumer. But that is NOT TRUE! I was up to date with my minimum and applied money to my promotional balance in SEPTEMBER.

The "COMPANY" let my promotional payment sit until OCTOBER 16th and took the ENTIRE PAYMENT for a minimum payment that went directly to the balance owed and not the promotional balance! So if I was not attentive, then I would have thought I was paying the promotional balance off when in fact NOTHING HAS BEEN APPLIED TO THE PROMOTIONAL BALANCE. The company is staying in business because at the end of the day I will be responsible for the promotional balance along with ALL OF THE INTEREST BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS SCANDALOUS!!! Their customer service is TERRIBLE!!! For each call I held on for over 30 minutes!!! I would advise no one to purchase anything with this company with a promotion. Unless you keep your eyes on how they treat YOUR MONEY!!! #NeverAgain!!! #Beware.

This is not uncommon, however make sure if you purchase anything that you have them put it through online. Otherwise you are not able to exchange items if the store does not have it, you are screwed. Online will not ship replacements to the store.

I'd ordered a bookcase, to be delivered on November 1. Only they dropped it off a day early, without notifying me. It was much too large and heavy for me to get into my apartment on my own, so I called to complain. Another reason for my complaint has to do with the company they use to build the bookcase on site. They will only do that if the furniture is in the room where it is supposed to go. The customer service rep was sympathetic, but he suggested I ask a friend to help. What friend? I've lived here two weeks, and the only people I know around here are geriatrics like me.

Striking out with Office Depot, I decided my best bet was to wrestle the box, which was way taller than I am to the ground and bring it in piece by piece. Only, I lost control of the box, and it crashed down on the top of my foot. The only good thing was that I had on sturdy shoes. Even so, the force was strong enough to split the skin. I don't think it's broken, but it sure hurts. I finally called my son, an hour away, and asked him if he could drop everything and come help me. He did, so at least the box isn't out in the rain. Bottom line: I was home all day. Office Depot had my phone number. I can't believe it is company policy to dump boxes and run. But if it is, it should change.

This Company has the unusual practice of not refunding your money when an order is cancelled. Instead, they prefer to verify with their Shipper that the items were returned to the warehouse and placed back into inventory. Nearly two-weeks have passed after being issued a return confirmation number and I have yet to receive my $687.99. Calls to Customer Support are fruitless, as they promise to check with their Shipper and call back within 4-hours. Yet they never called back. Resulted in a dispute claim with PayPal to resolve.

Also, desk orders require an adult to sign during delivery. I can understand having someone sign for shipment of an expensive and easily stolen small item like a laptop or smartphone, but large 72 pound boxes requiring two people to move is a bit ridiculous. They do not tell you that during the ordering process, so if you work in the day and live alone, you may end up with the same problem. And there are no delivery windows, so you will need to take the entire day off from the office. Add that their store prices are higher than online, yet one can order online from their smartphone while at the store and leave with the discounted priced item seems ludicrous. This Company is a dinosaur and apparently has not learned the lessons learned and adopted by Best Buy and Amazon to succeed.

This fee was listed on the confirmation email, but because I have been ordering for many years with Office Depot, did not inspect the confirmation email for charges. When I called Office Depot for an explanation, I was informed this was a new fee that had been passed on to them from their manufacturer. Sort of a delivery fee. Office Depot advertises that there is no delivery charge for orders over a certain amount, but the cases of water cost $12.98 per case as opposed to the $7.99 as advertised due to the new convenience fee. I understand if you order any type of liquid beverages, you will be charged this fee. Beware.

They said they had no way to contact the delivery people and could only note the account and would have them deliver it tomorrow. I asked what does the guarantee by 5 pm mean and her response was "We guarantee we will send you an email or phone call that it didn't show up." Really?

Delivery guy showed up at 6:20 pm to a locked office and gate and had called our office (left message) upset that we were not here. If it was not for our subcontractor who happens to come by at the same time and seen the furniture laying beside our locked gate and before the delivery guy left. The fact that I paid $70 to retrieve data from a flash drive that turned out to be a 'half hearted' effort, another $13 for a flash drive and the cost of several copies I had made throughout the week clearly was of no consequence to this manager. Intimidating, bullying and humiliating single women customers in front of other customers in today's environment is a sick disease no less than that from the manager of this store who clearly does not respect those he perceives as vulnerable.

When I made the purchase, It stated the the items were in stock and I received a confirmation number. I went to pick up the items the next day and the employee at the store informed me that my order was deleted and that they should've called me. I never received a call and I'm clueless as to when my money is being refunded. They said that they will automatically refund my money. I see that the money was taking out of my bank account at this point and that's all. They said they would complete my order for it to show deleted but then again I'm not sure when that happens as well. Now I will have to call tomorrow and investigate my issue further.

The store said that they didn't have it in stock and perhaps someone else purchased the items when I did. They also stated that there is sometimes a delay when the store reports their inventory to the online system. I'm not sure which is true. All I know is that I needed my order and relied on the information given and now I must chase my funds to make sure that I get my funds. In addition, I must now scramble to make the purchase elsewhere. What seemed to be an easy and convenient system turned out to be chaotic and time-consuming. I won't be ordering from here anymore. If you haven't been convinced by all the other bad reviews, here is my experience: I was asked to order two filing cabinets for one of my company's satellite offices. I guess we had ordered them directly from the manufacturer but they were lost in transit and now we needed them within a week. The manufacturer was back ordered 3 weeks. Enter Office Depot. This was a Friday (8/4) and they said they could deliver by Tuesday (8/8) so I ordered them. Shipping confirmation gets emailed and the new date is Wednesday (8/9) -- no problem. But by Wednesday and again Thursday I am calling to figure it out and they are blaming the courier (which is their in-house courier) for the problem.

By the weekend, I have received a new shipping confirmation for a new order number (and incidentally a new order date) so on Monday I call to find out why. They say that it was the manufacturer that claimed to have them available but only just now supplied them. I asked why OD sent a shipping confirmation if nothing shipped... no real response. I asked if it was lost. "I can't say that it was lost..." Also, I confirmed with the manufacturer that this is bogus: they did not just supply the cabinets and they are still back ordered. Well anyway, I am promised over and over again that it will arrive by Tuesday (8/15) so I wait. The day comes and nothing. The next day nothing again. I call and now they are saying, "Well, on our end it says that it arrived but if you don't have it, we can ship again."

These are not cheap cabinets. Wouldn't you want confirmation that I didn't in fact have them if your courier says they delivered them? My guess is that there was nothing saying they had arrived or their courier is so unreliable that they don't trust anything reported from that end. Okay well I wanted a refund at this point. The woman asked, "What if we refund 10% for your trouble and ship it today with FedEx or UPS instead of our courier and we will eat the shipping cost?". So I approve that. Next day I have a shipping confirmation but it is NOT being shipped by FedEx or UPS but, rather, their ** in-house courier again. Called to confirm and got the same old guarantee that it will arrive on Monday (8/21)... Yeah right...

Offered a "free" checkup for laptop while making a purchase for an item not related to this by Salesman "Mark". Days later, laptop was very slow, a virus protection renewal placed doubts that I had not been scammed & worries that I might have & all that could happen further caused me to recall the "free VIP check up" offer, called and was told to bring right in. "Mark" was expert in sales 101 i.e.; talk about everything BUT what customer came for directly as fast as possible, leaving customer exhausted & open to agreement of non related services.

Although identified as scammer I admit I agreed IF THERE WERE SEVERE PROBLEMS TO FIX, however he insisted there MUST be many issues needed to have all in my laptop brought to workable condition. Was charged PRIOR to his even glancing into laptop $178.38 with agreement of FULL workable conditions when I returned next day, and everything would be FULLY placed back on to continue w/o any concern exactly as installed at the moment turned over to.

The following day I called as per his request, and he said "his boy" (the term for a co-worker) had let him down and nothing had been done, it would be another day or so. Now this is a direct counter to the agreement the night prior as where "Mark" relaid SEVERAL times in his fast salesman chatter, HE WOULD BE DOING ALL RELATED TO PERSONALLY, hence by his expertise there would be no worries about the expertise in all done to place my laptop in excellent condition. Three days passed in addition to the two already and heard nothing. Not a phone call, & still have the record of call log during those days to counter any claim(S) by OD of trying to reach me.

I was tired of waiting, so went to OD to find out status of laptop. I waited for "Mark" to finish with customer, then approached & he seemed to not recall me, nor the repair/checking/laptop at all for a few mins? Then he somewhat glared at me (obvious to my witness I had brought w/ me) & said "Wow, I wouldn't have recognized you, you look so different from the other night (**hello? Thought he did not recall one min ago). You should get some sleep" (??!?) & started off towards a cabinet, grabbed my laptop out of & thrust at me. I asked SEVERAL technical repair questions of reasonable venue, what was done? Was all replaced? Was the wifi issue now working? All of which he never acknowledged, only stating ALL MY MICROSOFT OFFICE HAD BEEN REMOVED AND UP TO ME NOW TO REINSTALL????

I was stunned, as I had told him (as noted on HIS paperwork accidentally placed inside laptop) I was unsure of and NOT to remove UNTIL located, & promised such. He said something to "whatever" and then addressed my wifi connection issue not as repaired, but it worked in there... There being the OD building I can assume. He walked off, and I was still in a state of shock, I left to return home & see what all had been achieved and deleted.

My fears were all validated, my laptop was WIPED, NOTHING reinstalled, even down to my wireless mouse no longer reading to connect. The insult being most recognized in all this mess, the wifi connection issue IS RIGHT BACK TO WHERE I HAD EXPLAINED I COULD NOT CONNECT BEFORE. I had to uninstall Windows 10 to allow connection long before I brought it in???

Calls are not returned, and now contacting the "corporations" number goes unreturned as well. Regretfully, I paid with debit card, leaving no way to hold payment until resolved. My error, nevertheless their company is responsible for reinstalling all, replacement of my Office (which comes w/ a high cost) my iTunes installed is irreplaceable, as my files? My everything holds no price, except the emotional, and financial cost I have to endure along with my professional name has been harmed, as the files for reference held had to be requested from the corporate offices I subcontract through, leaving questions to my abilities of professional knowledge. I forgot to include above that my back ups had been limited by the problem encountered prior to the request for "check up" with Office Depot. So fully aware of this, they knowingly removed EVERYTHING FROM THE LAPTOP WITHOUT A BACKUP OF THEIR OWN???

All leaves me without business prior and current until a solution is available, and accepting my mistakes included does not release OFFICE DEPOT FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES TO RECTIFY THIS!!!! None acknowledgement of this will not make it go away, & just infuriates me more. Being a consumer coming for professional advisement & repairs IF needed has not been provided, nor have they enriched my situation in any manner they would need to show to disagree in my requests of all.

Do not agree to any checkup/pay for prior to solutions being provided with this sketchy, manipulative company! I hope to find some way to rectify my situation soon, but very sure at this moment in time court proceedings will be my only method of resolve, but honesty I don't foresee my ability to financially continue that process to end, as I'm sure they will hold out longer than my retainer amount does. Ending with this is a cautionary tale to others not to engage with the technical support scamming allowed in Office Depot/OfficeMax.

One minute the rewards are to be given out at the end of the quarter and now immediately. If that is the case why do I have some rewards that are pending? My biggest problem with the program is the way rewards are calculated and dispersed. One day the website says I have an amount pending and another amount available, then the next day, it says those amounts completely different.

I asked for a phone number to a manager or district manager who can answer some of my concerns and was told to call the 1-800-depot number. I have done this already with no resolve. I won't say who she is, but a cashier at one of their stores, told me that have had multiple people say the same thing I am saying. Also, I am not getting credit/rewards for recycling old toner cartridges. Again should I say "weird"? I would love for someone from the company to contact me and go over my purchases and rewards. I hope they could prove me wrong.

I somewhat recently got my iPhone 6 battery replaced at Office Max. I am completely disappointed and regret my decision to do it there. First, it took a long time for the employees to find an employee that actually knew how to do it. I tried to make an appointment, but apparently that doesn't mean anything, because no one was expecting me. The battery that they replaced it with is just as bad as the battery that they replaced. It seems like the only way the replacement battery would be better is if the original battery was completely dead.

On top of that, my iPhone doesn't vibrate anymore. It seems to be too much of a coincidence to not be related to the replacement, especially after the employee went on about how they shouldn't replace the batteries in the first place because it is so easy to damage them. In short, I don't recommend replacing your cell phone battery here. If you have an iPhone, pay the extra money and just have Apple replace it. Please don't go here, unless they magically get 100x better.

Anyway, I get an email stating the paper is on back order and will be shipped when it is available. I noticed at the bottom of the order the total has changed to $119.82. I started a live chat and was ensured that I would only be charged the $57.76. I am verifying some charges on my account a couple days later and I see the charge from Office Depot for $119.82. I called and talked to a woman named Michelle who tells me that she can't credit me the money back until I receive the product, but she puts a note in my file stating I am owed a $58 credit and why.

I get the paper yesterday 7/3/2017, I call and I am playing 20 questions again and they are asking me why I want the $58 credit. How hard is it to give me back the money I am overcharged. So, she reads the notes and says that she is sending it over for approval and processing. I get an email this morning stating that they want to know again why I am requesting a $58 refund. I want to scream. I actually left a message telling them that all I want is to pay the price I ordered at and if they cannot give me the $58 difference they can come pick the product back up and give me all my money back. I have attached a copy of my order. I have my proof that I was overcharged and might have to file with the bank and police if this is not resolved.

Not too much right? Wrong!! Chairs came - no problem. One desk came - right order # wrong product, library base came on the wrong order and it's gone downhill from there. Nothing else showed up. I had to actually explain to the rep the problem by telling her to get a piece of paper, divide it in two and write the order#'s down and draw lines to what we got and what we need. Sigh. Then they said, "We'll fix it, you'll have it by June 22nd." And apologies to the girl on the phone but I lost my patience. Sooo... as I said, for the love of God pleassseee do not order from here. Office Depot #923 on 5533 N. Rosemead Bl., Temple City, CA 91780. I went in on 5/30/2017 at around 5:00 pm for scanning service on 7 large original calligraphy paintings. There was one customer service rep, **, in the print service department doing his best to handle every customers' needs of at least 7-10 people, plus the phones, during the roughly one hour I spent there. He told me it would be a while and it was understandable. He was able to scan one sheet but it came out slightly slanted so it needed to be redone. During the first (and only) scanning, he would assist other customers and that's how he had to handle most cases. What ended up happening was 2 or 3 of us would be waiting while he's already in the middle of helping someone else.

** was doing his best, courteous and had a great attitude. He suggested that instead of waiting, I could leave it there and pick it up the next day before noon and that someone would call. A great idea. He wrote a Project Folder and I purchased a brand new Sandisk USB. It was an empty acrylic box with no item in it. ** called for product pick up with no response. After a few minutes, he saw the one and only cashier on duty with no lines, he told me it might be quicker if I went to her. Did that, paid and got the new USB at the cashier line, went back to ** and paid for the scanning service. The next day, no calls. I went in around 3:30 pm the next day 5/31/2017.

This time there were 2 or 3 service reps in the department but no **. After finally locating my order, it hasn't even been started. Again, being told by another young man that they'll have someone get on it right away and should be ready by 6:30 and that someone would call. Again, no calls. When I called this morning 6/1/2017 at 9:30, I was told the printer is down and there's nothing they can do until it gets fixed which is another unknown and that I could go in for a refund. Monetary refund is not the only recourse to time lost and energy wasted!!!! There are severe mismanagement issues with personnel scheduling, training, hardware maintenance, and the entire customer service policy system flow. The item I was purchasing was definitely not furniture. On the 4th business day I called Office Depot to inquire about my order. The following day (5th business day) called and went through the automated attendant which told me my order was delivered that day on 5/4/17 which it definitely was not. I spoke to another representative and she stated that she could see that the order was not delivered but she couldn't provide any information as to when it would be delivered but she was going to have the carrier contact me and provide me the information as to when the order would be delivered. No one called or emailed me after that phone call.

On 5/8/17 I called to speak to a representative to find out information regarding the delivery of my order. A representative tells me the same thing that they don't know when my order is going to arrive but she was going to "submit a request" to the resolution department to look into the order. I then asked if I could speak to the resolution department myself to expedite the process as I feel that I've already been more than patient. The representative denied my request. At that point, I figured it was best to cancel my order and purchase the same item from Uline, where I may have to pay a little more, but the item is guaranteed to be delivered the following day. To justify the high price I was told that since the number used was outside the prefix number for that store it is considered a long distance phone call by them. The store is in Greeley with a prefix of 970, they faxed to Denver with a prefix of 303 but this is not a long distance charged call. The phone company simply uses different prefixes due to the high number of users, but all calls are still considered and charged as local calls. Office Depot should be avoided at all costs! Our most recent experience has been another exercise in total futility. We wanted a small, inexpensive desk quickly so did an online search and the website said the desk we wanted was in stock at the local store. Off we go, only to find out that their inventory was wrong so it would require delivery. One week later, still no delivery! No excuse, no information, no nothing. One excuse we were provided was that "Your address isn't in GPS." Since our subdivision is new, of course it isn't. But the driver never attempted to call and ask directions, anything... just decided not to deliver.

Only action we got was when we rated our satisfaction a ZERO -- then the store manager called. We explained the situation. Guess the store and delivery service don't communicate because the store manager said he was as clueless as we were about the delivery!! Are you kidding me... this day in age no way to contact the delivery people directly? That is insane!! One week and counting on the missing desk.

Two years ago had similar issues with them. (You would have thought we learned our lesson.) Ordered an office chair for delivery. NEVER showed up on my doorstep. After numerous calls the driver insisted it was on my porch and I should just bring it in. Apparently they delivered it to the wrong address -- not just the wrong address, the wrong CITY! I was told in order to get a refund I had to prove it was not delivered. Are you kidding me!!! I begged to have a picture of them showing it sitting on my front porch but that never happened. I even checked every house in my subdivision and it wasn't there.

Office Depot and their delivery service have to be the most incompetent organizations in business today. There is NO excuse that they do not have any knowledge of delivery locations, status, etc. In regards to our latest issue (missing desk) the local store manager only got involved when we provided a low rating and to quote him, "Your low rating effects everyone at the store and their bonuses." How about doing great customer service simply because it's the right thing to do???

A little over a year ago, I bought a laptop for work and a lifetime protection plan to go with it. Well a few months later, it's not working anymore. I take it back to the store since 1, they say they repair computers, and 2, I had bought a protection plan. The guy working there tells me that it could be any number of things but they have no way of finding out what it is so "I don't know, maybe call HP?" Frustrated, I take it to a computer repair shop. They tell me immediately what the problem is and that all it needs is a screen replacement (the part that broke was attached to the bottom of the screen on the inside) and that they can replace it easily, but since it's still under warranty from OfficeMax, it may be easier/cheaper to just see if they'll replace it. So I take it back a few days later and tell them I just need a screen replacement.

This time, the guy working the computer repair desk puts me on hold with some 800 customer service line, who after getting various information for over twenty minutes tells me that they'll just email me a shipping label, have me mail my computer to them (and pay whatever shipping costs necessary), and once they see that it's shipping, they'll send me a $200 gift card. At this point, I'm just pissed off but agree to it anyway. It's been over a month and I still haven't even been emailed this apparent shipping label. This may seem trivial to some people, but I am incredibly frustrated with Office Depot right now. Last year I bought some PaperPro staplers through Office Depot and all of them were $25/each and are quite possibly the biggest pieces of junk I have ever wasted money on. I have tried on 5 separate occasions to leave a negative review for these staplers and each time my review is rejected. I have wasted valuable time composing high quality reviews (per their suggestions), breaking down specifically what has failed and what I do and do not like, even including pictures of the malfunctioning products, only to have them almost immediately reject the review after submission. I have followed their review guidelines to a T to make sure that I did not violate any of their guidelines ensuring my review would be published online to warn other customers about this poorly made product.

The only reason that I can come up with as to why this is happening, is because Office Depot is being compensated in one way or another for keeping negative reviews on certain products to a minimum so as to not allow the products rating to fall below a certain level. I am a big review reader, I base most all of my purchase decisions mainly on the products online reviews. I feel it is deceptive and dishonest to filter reviews in this manner. I will not spend any more of my money at Office Depot. As a matter of fact, I made an order shortly before I tried one last time to post a review. It was rejected within a matter of minutes. I promptly cancelled my order and went to Staples. Even though I had an Office Depot coupon applied to my order, I ordered the same items from Staples and saved over $50 (and I had no Staples coupon!).

Office Depot has lost my business for good. After they merged with OfficeMax things have gone downhill. The website is always having some sort of issues, my rewards points are sometimes applied and sometimes not... Sometimes it shows I have reward points to redeem but then I am unable to redeem them. Also, a few weeks ago I had a back ordered item ship and when it arrived the envelope was empty and it took me talking to 3 separate customer service reps to them to re-ship my missing item. I am usually a very patient person, but for some reason them repeatedly rejecting my reviews for absolutely no reason is really irritating me and that was sort of the straw that broke the camel's back.

We was in need of a new computer desk and found what we liked at the Puducah, KY store. Not having a truck we chose to order online. That was 11/19/16. Experience went well with a delivery date of 12/02/16. Total price for desk and hutch was $703. Delivery date comes, no delivery. That being a Friday, I called CS Monday morning, and was told delivery service had a invalid phone number and would have to reschedule for 12/13/16.

Delivery date comes, no delivery. Instead delivery service called me to inform me that items came in damaged and would have to reorder. Called CS again, this time rescheduled for 12/20/16 and refunded me the shipping charges plus extra $30.00. Up to this point CS had been well. Delivery date comes, no delivery. Waited till 12/22/16 and called CS again, and canceled order. Was told refund would be issued for $588.00 minus money already refunded.

At that time I went to Saunders website whom makes the furniture and found an affiliate company with the same items for far less than OD plus free shipping.

I must say that OD has been fairly helpful to a point, but allowing the delivery service they have to continue to rip people off is unacceptable. CS needs to be moved to US. Will NEVER, NEVER order anything from OD anymore. Will give OD a couple of days to refund my money then I will go to Illinois Attorney General's Office and file complaint. Hope it doesn't come to that.

Office Depot had the HP 15-ay196nr laptop on sale for Black Friday. I placed my order at 12:01 am on Thanksgiving morning, 11-24-16. I received my confirmation email at 12:09 am and it said I was supposed to receive it on 12-5. Since then I have gotten nothing but a runaround from them. First the order was still processing for 7 days. A follow up email was sent on 12-10, after I contacted them, saying it would arrive on 12-15. Then I found out on it was canceled without an email being sent on 12-13. I was given a number to call to escalate my order and the gentleman there said the laptop was sold out.

After 19 days I am told that the laptop is no longer available! He did offer to find me a comparable laptop at the advertised price, so I agreed. The delivery date was supposed to be 12-19, BUT I was just informed the date has been pushed back to 12-21. How can I have been able to place my order 1 minute after the sale started and not be able to get it?? I even talked to a real live person to make sure I was able to get in on the sale. I just told the last person I talked to that was cutting it close to be able to get it for Christmas.

I then changed to an Epson and bought a 2 year warranty. It died 2 months before the warranty expired. I brought it back and they refused to replace it. Said I had to call the warranty company. I did and I never registered it because I just brought them back. They said the manager should not have replaced the printers. I finally just told them what to do with the printer and left. They were excellent and now they REALLY SUCK!!!

After confirming that an item I ordered for in-store pickup was ready (CD-R spindle of 100), I stopped in the store. I showed the associate at the pickup desk the order # I had written down and I described the item, which she couldn't find. A gentleman who was already being served (printing services customer) overheard and told her he just saw a young man remove this item from the pickup counter and take it toward the back of the store. The lady just persisted in looking around the area behind the counter, still not finding my item. I was pressed for time but thought I had allowed more than enough to complete this transaction, so my patience began to wear thin.

After a wait of about 3 minutes another store clerk showed me a spindle that was a different brand than what had supposedly been held for me, with no real explanation for the substitution. I said it would do. No apology was offered, nor was there any comment on what the whole mix-up was about. I did get a look at the young man who was seen taking my purchased item back into the store. He was not attired in any way that identified him as a store employee. I left the store feeling underwhelmed, to say the least.

I went online to order printing of documents requested by a court for work. Long time ago, before the merge, I did this online and, as long as you didn't need it right away, they did a good job. If you go in person, they did a good job. However, I needed it within 2 days. Not a large or complex order. The website says they won't charge your card until pick up and you can pay in cash in person (what I planned to do). But you have to leave a card. So I did. *Also, at each step the estimated time of delivery jumped 5 days. Through three screens the estimated time went from a few days to a week and a half.

Apparently they immediately charged the card and someone from India calls the next day and leaves a message. Says my card did not go through so they were not going to go through with the order. I had deposited money on the card but assumed that since they said they would charge at pick up, and it wouldn't be ready for a couple days, it would be fine. I call back the number he calls me on -- not in service. I cancel the order online and reorder with another card.

Fast forward over a week from my original order - still nothing. They had charged my card immediately so I couldn't go to another company as I no longer had sufficient funds to cover a new order. Finally I got my money back after I got an email -- a week later-- confirming my order the order, saying it would be another week until it would be ready at my local store.

Cancelled again. Finally was able to order from FedEx. They always have it ready the same day even if I order online. It's just far from where I live. It was only 15 copies of a document with binding and paperstock covers. Shouldn't take 2 weeks to do. If the website says no charge until pick up -- then they shouldn't charge until pick up. Now the documents are way past due and I have to figure out how to get myself out of this mess.

I do the purchasing for our company, and Office Depot just lost our business. We ordered a desk/hutch set online - to be delivered. They delivered 3 huge boxes. The next day, after dragging these EXTREMELY heavy boxes up the stairs, we realized they sent (2) Box 2 of 2's. They DID NOT send Box 1 of 2. I called Customer Service immediately. They were very apologetic/helpful and said someone would call me back within 4 hours to reschedule the correct delivery. After waiting FIVE hours, I called back. They informed me that the rep had been mistaken. They don't make those calls on weekends, but someone will call Monday morning to schedule the correct delivery.

No call Monday, but I did receive an email stating, "We do apologize as you have not received the item yet. Upon checking the order detail we do see that this order was short . So, we have processed reshipment on behalf of Office Depot for your satisfaction. Reshipment confirmation # **. This order will be delivered on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM to the below Address: For further assistance call back customer service @ 888 463 3768. We also ensure that this will not happen in your future orders." Today, 11/2, I called to narrow down the delivery time and was told "the order had been canceled."??? The rep couldn't tell me WHO or WHY it had been canceled.

I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and was told "She is on another line, but will call you back as soon as she's off the phone." (I think that line is the first lie they teach their reps when they get a job there.) Four hours later, no call from the supervisor. (She must have been on a REALLY long phone call.) So, I called back. I spoke to a rep who seemed to know what she was talking about, told me she noted everything that had occurred, explained what she thought happened as far as the canceled order, and assured me we would receive the correct box on Friday. (She even said "ask" instead of "aks".) Then, I received the Return Email.

It showed two exact same desk item #'s being picked up. (So...they are picking up BOTH Box 2 of 2's and delivering Box 1 of 2 so we are STILL stuck with only 1 box?!?) I called back and spoke to a complete moron. She listened to me and said she "fixed it" but when I asked her to tell me exactly WHAT was being picked up and exactly WHAT was being delivered on Friday, all she could say was "the desk" (no box #, nothing.) I told her I REALLY needed to make sure this was correct because every stupid mistake was causing delays for our business.

I asked her to send me an email while still on the phone with exactly what was being shipped/picked up. It never came. I asked to speak to her supervisor. Guess what she said? "She is on another line, but will call you back as soon as she's off the phone." I told her I would hold...she said she would take my info and she would call me. No thank you - I'll hold. Supervisor never answered. Office Depot is a joke. Run by morons, they have no concept of customer service. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. I have literally wasted an entire day trying to remedy a mistake that THEY made. I am pretty sure that they will be here Friday with two more Box 2 of 2's and they will pick up the previous two Box 2 of 2's. My biggest regret is that I didn't listen to my boss and buy QUALITY FURNITURE. Save a buck...waste a day and your sanity dealing with ignorant people who can barely speak the language.

Just stay away from Office Max and Depot online, as well as in stores. No manners, not respect, no customer support! Only lies and fraud. To name several, first: SOUTH JORDAN, UT - MANAGER - THE RUDEST AND MOST UNFRIENDLIEST, UNEDUCATED AND ARROGANT PERSON I ever met. He kept lying and misleading, charging wrong amounts and that while telling me "the rewards will show on your next statement" and the first purchase I made I had realized that and returned it right away only to prove him wrong, which he was so unhappy with and could not keep up with his lies and fraud and knowing I was right the only thing left for him was to yell at me not to come again to his store!! Let me just add: I returned ALL I just bought and the credit was $75 less than what I had paid. Interesting math they have with all "the rewards and deals".

That was not the only time. I needed longer to learn my lessons, unfortunately. Customer service: YOU ARE LUCKY IF THEY EVER WORK or if you can understand them once you reach them and then good luck if they care, because they do not help in any way...and as a business customer you seem to have fallen from Mars and they do not have a clue what to do and where to transfer you, so you hold forever and then you get hung up on. Therefore you are not getting any help nor anything resolved. Online order through the store by store employee got delivered in wrong color, wrong item and overcharged by $500. With proof and calls to district management all they offered was to take it back and refund the amount paid within 30 days. (I laughed...same as with the wonderful rewards that never came.)

Got one laptop for "A good price", was charged for two for the low price I was given therefore it ended up being more than the reg price. What a nice trick and scam...again to dispute it. Hahaha. Two brand new laptops died on the same day because one was purchased as an open box item and had ransomware on it. The sec I connected them, both hard drive were damaged beyond repair. Called and troubleshot with manufacturer, even had in writing from Dell to return to the store, but PHILIP **, AKA Store Manager of DRAPER STORE (I am so glad I am no manager, that title means as much as "screwing people over and that with disrespect and without any guilt"...and if they all can call themselves managers, I really wonder what the real managers should be named now.)...

So Mr. PHILIP from that Draper store, thought he would only help me if I agree on the spot to pay over $300 for technical support services, (which would not cover any damage on the devices anyhow because viruses are not covered and the first year it is up to the manufacturer), good trick to get someone who worked for HP to sign up for your useless protection... Haha. He did not like that I was going to consult with my partner first and did not help but tell me that I need to leave his store. It was a waste of time and he could not help me although I was only 1 day over the 30 day return period (which he did not even know was that long for business clients!!), and I had spent 3 hours at the store to have him tell me that there is nothing he can do and I just wasted $1200...(unless I pay him $300 and then he would have to ask his manager who of course was not available...) if that was ok.

When I said to charge it on my acct he said he could not because they were not open any longer (horrible). Long story short, this whole store and company and its employees, almost each one of them are the biggest nightmare, and this is the most corrupt and fraudulent retailer that is still left around...but not for too much longer and that is good to know. On top of that all employees are always only standing around and have nothing to do, but do not help you either...nor do they care about customers and about your purchases. I have been disappointment every time I crossed my feet into their store or tried to dial their number. CUSTOMER CARE AND SERVICE are not known to them and they really do nothing but rip you off and probably put it in their own pockets. Good for all of us that they are closing their stores. Can't it be sooner please.

I only wonder where all these lying and misleading and fake and fraudulent people will work next and continue treating customers with such disrespect and arrogance, with belittling and instead of being thankful that one comes in and they got jobs they yell and treat one so that one will not only never again go in but take further legal steps so that this scam finally can take an end.

The desk is sold online on the Office Depot website for $280. Obviously, the ONLY reason they priced the desk at $410 was so they could trick customers into buying the "bundle". When Asus received it, the chromebook was dented and the left side of the screen was smashed. I tried to file a claim with Fedex but was told that because OfficeMax shipped the item, they had to file the claim. After some back and forth I got OfficeMax to file the claim. During this entire process I was the one making the calls and keeping the process moving. The claim was approved by Fedex on the 5th of October and mailed to the OfficeMax corporate office in Boca Raton Florida. Now remember, I live in the Chicagoland area.

In addition, the check was made out to OfficeMax not to me. When I contacted Cameron, the OfficeMax Manager, he told me that the check was in Florida and, MAYBE, I'd be reimbursed in six to eight weeks. Then to add insult to injury he told me that the damage to my chrome book was not their fault. So as it stands. I am out the cost of the chromebook, the cost of the shipping for a total of 275.00 and OfficeMax gets a 100.00 payout from Fedex. How does that work?

    Updated review: Oct. 31, 2016

Apparently, this was a misunderstanding and Office Depot did the right thing in the long run. Thanks, Office Depot.

    Original Review: Oct. 7, 2016

On Tuesday, October 4, 2016 I called the Office Depot Customer Service hotline at 1-800-GO-Depot and spoke to a customer service representative in order to obtain a price match for a Samsung 6300 UN60KU6300F. The same model listed at Office Depot for $1,399.99 is listed at Target for $949.99 on sale. After the customer service rep looked up the item and checked with her supervisor, she returned to the phone to inform me as per company policy that they do not match items that come directly from the manufacturer (lie #1). When she discovered this item does not come directly from the manufacturer as listed on the webpage, she then said they do not match sale items (lie #2).

I then asked her to match the price that Walmart sells the same TV for, which is their everyday low price of $997.99. She then came back after checking with her supervisor again to say they cannot match that price either. This time because it is more than 10% difference (lie #3). I then asked to speak with the supervisor. After about 15 minutes wait, Jerry (agent # **) came to the phone to inform me that company policy is that they do not match sale items and when I asked where that is located in the policy, he said it is at their discretion. In other words there is no policy stating they do not match sale items, he just used that as an excuse. The specific company policy is they do not match holiday sale items and this Target item is on sale, but not a holiday sale.

Then when asked about the match to Walmart, or B&H Photo (who also has it at regular price under $1,000.00) Supervisor Jerry said they cannot price match anything below their cost ratio. In other words, if the price of electronics goes down (which they always do), Office Depot will not price match because of their bad purchase. They want to pass their being ripped off, on the customer being ripped off. Target not only has the item on sale, but they currently have a discount on all Samsung TVs using their Cartwheel application and the Red Card, adding an additional discount of 15% to the price, bringing the total if purchased through Target to $815.00. I was hoping to match that price and add your current promotion of 20% off using the online code of 20OFFGOOD41, bringing your final price below $800.

Jerry had the attitude that he could not care less about the customer, or who I complained to. He simply stated that company policy is such that I am not getting the price match no matter what. Office Depot is in financial jeopardy and closing stores left and right because of supervisors like Jerry (agent # **) disseminating deceptive business policy that may or may not be the case and certainly are not ethical or customer friendly.

I purchased an Epson printer a year ago with 2-year protection agreement. 1st make sure you read it completely. You cannot return anything to the store under this service. You must call a 1-800 number to get started. Once you call and talk to someone, they inform you that you must send the print back. I said "ok cool no problem". They told me "everything is good. Go ahead and print out the UPS shipping form and take the printer to UPS." Ok cool, I did that. Wrong. The guy forgot to tell me. You have to pay for the BOX and Packaging materials like foam. $18.00 later. I said ok no big deal fine. I paid for the Box. I call them back to let them know hey, it's in the mail. I also want to change the form of repayment from a gift card to a check. They said "sure we can send you a check instead". Once we receive the printer, it takes 7 days for the check arrive in the mail. I said cool no biggie!!!

09/08/16 Called the store where I purchased the printer. I was told no I must call the 1-800. No returns or exchanges are done in store after so many days; 09/09/16 put it in the mail. Brown told me they will receive it on Monday the 12th; 09/20/16 Called today to find out what is taking so long. The customer service personnel told me "we received it but we had proved there was a problem 1st. That was completed on the 14th but because it was the weekend checks weren't cut until Monday"; I said "1st off the 14th was on a Wednesday, not a Friday. Try again what is taking so long. I know you received it on the 12th in the a.m."

Well, they just cut the check today. OK, it's the 20th. It's been a 8 day now; Now he tells me "well you won't receive the check until sometime next week". I ask 4 times on what day. He replied the 29th. So what happened to 'receive it in 7 days from the time you received the printer'. Now it will be 17 days from the 12th. I'm a little upset because I should be able to exchange it for one that works or get a credit toward a new one. I would have paid the difference if the same one is no longer available. I understand fraud and all that jazz but hey I just want to get another printer. The one I had was having software issues. Instead, I'm still waiting on the money and I had to go buy a new one at Staples. So I know it will arrive on the 30th, 22 days later. This process is stupid. They are quick to offer insurance and take your money. Hoping it will outlast the 2-year plan but hello it didn't.

After I try buying shes making up prices and states no it doesn't state here that it's the retail price. So why mention it. So the 71 dollar backpack was being sold 50 percent more than advertisement. VERY DISGUSTED. We don't need a store like this in town!

They told me they would get rid of the virus, apply anti-virus, upgrade to Windows 10, and upload my daughter's class software. After not calling me the next day, I called them. They said the computer wasn't compatible with Windows 10 and they could not load the software for my daughter's class. If I had known that, I would not have let them do any work. I ask for some refund and they told me they did everything on the work order. Apparently they didn't put the upgrade and software on the work order. They would not give me a refund. They lied to me. Also, the computer was scratched. We didn't find that out until we got home. I believe they just wanted to sell with no concern for giving me what I needed.

I called and spoke to a customer service rep that is outsourced and she kept insisting it had been ordered and signed by Anthony. I don't have an Anthony. She stated they would refund me. This was not done. I called back and asked for a manager to call me and I never received a call. A week or more later, someone tried to deliver the paper and I refused since I had already purchased it elsewhere. I have called back twice and asked for a manager. That cust rep. assured me again they would refund this to my credit card for items I never received. This still has not been done. Will never shop online with this company again.

I purchased a Dymo M25 postal scale at a LaVista, NE Office Depot store on 8/14/16 at a price of $99.99. I discovered a few days later that the same item on their website sells for $42.89. I called the store manager and was told they would price match their own online price, but I would have to bring the scale in to get this. I live 300 miles from the store and the time and fuel to make a special trip is just not worth it. I am required to return the item in person and then order it online. I will try to do this at a store which is a little closer, but the closest store is 2 1/2 hours away. I should not have to exchange the item or be there in person. This was charged to my credit card and they could just issue me a credit if they wanted to. I will not buy items in Office Depot/Max stores now without doing an online price check. Amazon is looking really attractive to me now.

Last evening, I went to OfficeMax in Madison, WI in search of a specific Jansport backpack. I had been searching for one on sale and OfficeMax was advertising their Jansport backpacks at 30% off. The store had a price on the backpack of $78.99. From my research, I knew this price seemed high. I searched Jansports website and found that they list the price for the identical backpack of $55.00. I showed this to an assistant manager of the Madison, WI store and I got all kinds of excuses as to why the prices were so different. "Maybe the backpack is a few years old and it was at the higher price when we (OfficeMax) purchased them."

Well, for obvious reasons, that made no sense to me. Why would Officemax be selling a backpack that is 3 years old? I then did the math and found that if you deduct 30% from the $78.99 price, it came out to about $55.00. This is a clear example of a retailer raising the cost of an item, then putting it on sale that takes the price back down to the retail price. That is just not fair to any consumer. Needless to say, I did not purchase the backpack from OfficeMax. As a result, I will never again shop at Office Max/Office Depot.

I placed a print order from Office Depot for the first time. The order was nearly $500, & the materials are for my school. The first time they claim they tried to deliver the order was on July 7, 2016. They sent an email at 10:20pm the day before, notifying me of the delivery. However, not only was I there the entire day, but so was my secretary & at least 8 guys working on school's front driveway, & said they never saw a delivery truck. The next day, again, they claim they tried to deliver my order. I wasn't given any notification for this, but I had an all-day meeting, so I wasn't there. But the driveway construction guys were there & said, again, they never saw a delivery truck.

I called customer service and was PROMISED that the order would be delivered between 8:00am & 12:00pm the following business day, & was given an escalation ticket number. They claim they came at 9:19 am & no one was here, but I was here the whole time. And the 8 driveway construction guys were there. Most of the time that day, I was sitting in the front office with the door wide open.

I called customer service again. Again, I was PROMISED the order would be delivered the following day. I had to leave the office, but the 8 driveway construction guys said they'd watch for the delivery. This is supposedly the 4th delivery attempt. I returned to the office before 10:30am, & walked into the office just as a message was being left on the office phone, saying they attempted to deliver the materials, but no one was there. I flew outside, & asked every one of the 8 guys if they saw a delivery truck. Every one of them denied seeing a truck, & further stated that there's no way they could miss it because they were right there in the parking lot.

I called customer service again. I told them that this is the 2nd time they claimed to have attempted delivery when there WERE PEOPLE PRESENT TO ACCEPT THE DELIVERY. I asked if I could please just pick the order up at a store or from the delivery service's office. I was told that I can't pick up a print order that was placed online at one of their stores. Furthermore, they said I couldn't pick it up from the delivery service because they don't have an office!

Now it's 2 days later, & no delivery, & no delivery "attempt." I called customer service AGAIN. She told me that the delivery service has my delivery date set for tomorrow between 8:30am & 5:30pm. I told her I needed it to be delivered by 1:00pm because I have to leave campus at that time. She guaranteed that she was providing that information to the delivery service.

A couple of hours later, I receive a call from Office Depot customer service. This person tells me that the 1:00pm deadline was not sent to the delivery service & there was nothing she could do about it. I lost it. I insisted on speaking with someone higher than her. She said there wasn't anyone. She said I would receive a call for assistance in the next 4 business hours. It was 4:55pm, so I asked, "You're saying I'll receive a call by tomorrow at noon?!" After she confirmed that I was correct, I asked, "How will a call tomorrow at noon get my materials delivered by 1:00pm?!" I really went off then, again telling her I needed to speak with someone higher, that this is unacceptable, etc., etc. She then said I would receive a call in an hour. She then gave me my 2nd escalation ticket number.

At 6:20pm, nearly 90 minutes later, no phone call. So I called customer service again. Each time, mind you, I have to start from the beginning & explain everything. The girl kept saying, "You haven't received your package because it's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow." Oh my gosh!!! I asked for someone higher, to which she said that is not possible. I told her I just want a refund. She just ignored that. After I raised my voice again, which I don't normally do because I don't like people to yell at me, I told her this is the 5th delivery date! She then guaranteed that she sent the delivery service the directive to deliver the package by 1:00pm.

She said I should be receiving another phone call from Office Depot to verify the info she submitted. She then gave me my 3rd escalation ticket number. I am beyond livid. I needed these materials last week, & now it's Thursday night of the week following the supposed 1st delivery attempt. DON'T ORDER PRINTED MATERIALS ONLINE FROM OFFICE DEPOT. I wish I'd read the previous reviews about Office Depot's lack of ability to hire reliable delivery companies.

I called initially twice and every time I call they tell me that it will arrive tomorrow between 2-4 pm. I rush out of work to make it on time so I can receive the table and nobody shows up. I call back a week later and request to speak with a manager and they tell me that "no manager is available at this moment, leave your phone number and they will call back." Guess what no one calls. 3 days later I call again and the same thing repeat, I leave my phone number and no one call.

3 days later I call and the representative tells me that they had some issues with the weather and they could not deliver the desk. Like seriously what kind of excuse is this. It's been 3 weeks and it's June!! There is no snow. At least not here in Ohio. After all I ask for a refund and the lady tells me that they cannot do that because the table is already on its way. After I was very frustrated with them they credited me the money. Still waiting for the credit and hope they give it to me eventually because I cannot trust them anymore. Worst experience ever! I print shipping labels from a USB thumb drive. OfficeMax has raised the price more than once in the last 8 months. The most recent issue is that the USB ports on the 2 copy machines were disabled by OfficeMax staff. I asked why and was given no reason. I was then notified that from now on USB copies will require using the FedEx computer and printing onto a copy machine behind the counter which is not 12 cents a copy self-service but is now full service at 14 cents a page. I do all the work but the staff take the sheet out of the hopper and hand it to me and I pay more? My solution is to buy a new printer and stop going to OfficeMax for anything.

While waiting for my Best Buy delivery I still need to print daily so I went to the FedEx Kinkos which is 6 blocks from OfficeMax and what a joy it was to go there! I simply put my credit card into the machine, choose the file to print and it prints. The best part is that I don't stand in line like at OfficeMax which typically takes 10-15 minutes on a typical day and much longer periodically. FedEx charges 12 cents for black and white copies and they don't discriminate between paper or digital USB source docs. Turns out I will save a lot of money by printing at home with my cheap 29.99 HP printer that comes with 2 ink cartridges which is a $26 value. Crazy right? And I like how professional the FedEx vibe is and I don't have to run the gauntlet of salespeople at OfficeMax which reminds me of going to the car dealership and being swarmed by salespeople.

I ordered a carton of multi-purpose letter size paper on Thursday to be delivered on Friday to my Manhattan apartment in an elevator building. It never arrived and when I called on Saturday morning after no communication from them about non-delivery, they told me it was slated for Monday which was useless. It then took them 3 days to issue credit. DO NOT ORDER FROM them if you have a time crunch!!!

I purchased a well priced laptop online from Office Depot, shortly thereafter I received confirmation of the order and the next day I received an email stating my order had been shipped and will arrive two days later. Fast forward to shipment date "crickets", I decided to track my shipment as I had somewhere to go and I didn't want my computer left outside for sticky fingers to get a hold of. I went to the website and put in my order information only to find out there's no tracking information, none that I am used to seeing anyway. I initiated a live chat to find out who was delivering my order and what is the tracking number??? I couldn't get an answer out of them, long story short, the rep tells me they will have an answer within four business hours, lies. No more communication from OD, the next day, I initiated a live chat, the rep says the product was never placed on the truck and they will issue a credit, what? I want my computer not a freakin' credit!

He cancelled my order! Instead of getting the product to the delivery service and having it shipped out as it was supposed to have been, ridiculous! I ordered to go pick up in the store, I'll never order from them online again, apparently they're not accustomed to it and their delivery company, Dynamex? I've never heard of and they don't have tracking numbers!

Called Again - was told I would get a call back within 4 hours from the "ESCALATION TEAM." NO CALL. Contacted them again via CHAT... was told I would get a call back IMMEDIATELY. I asked them to stay on chat until I got the call. "Destiny" rudely disconnected the chat. AGAIN NO CALL! CALLED YET AGAIN - was told I would get a call first thing Monday morning. AGAIN NO CALL, NO DESK, so far I am out $300 and can't even go BUY a desk because they've had my $$ for two weeks. So disgusted I will NEVER give them another penny in store or online. In both the online and Sunday ad, OfficeMax had a sale on a desk and hutch bundle that I was interested in buying. It said it was "in-stock". So, I went in with intent to purchase and bring home that day. When I got there the associate advised due to the combining of both stores; they no longer carry desks in-stock. However, "I could go online and have this bundle shipped straight to my door step in ONE DAY with free shipping!" I went home and straight to my computer to place the order just to find it was costing me $87 to have it shipped to my home. Ridiculous!!! This was YOUR COMPANY'S decision to no longer sale IN-STOCK even though you advertise as so, and I have to pay for that??? NO. So I called the associates at "MY STORE". They informed me that it actually has to be order by THEM to get the benefits and to complete the transaction I would have to go IN to process it.

Completely frustrated by the enormous set back, I went against my own feelings for 1) I won't have to pay delivery fee's; and 2) GUARANTEED ONE DAY SHIPPING. I went into the store under the impression that it was going to be a quick in and out process since I had an account set up and had both item numbers prepared. The process took 1 full hour and 15 minutes. 45 minutes of me waiting was watching your associate try to figure out how he was going to get around his own company's delivery fee. Why does your employee not know this??! All the while another associate has already stepped outside to take 3 smoke breaks!!! The associate finally figured it out that he had to separate my one transaction into 2! We finally reached the check out. The elderly lady had rang up someone else's transaction that had paid already, however that happened!

So, I had to correct her, then watch 2 other associates and herself try to figure out how to erase the mistake so they could proceed with my NOW two purchases! Seriously though, HOW??? When I was finally able to leave, I immediately felt this was a huge waste of time (I assure you it was. Keep reading.) I waited until the next day, and I did not receive my items. It wasn't until days later that I received what I was guaranteed the next day. When it finally arrived, the top of the desk had a gash in the middle where you would write, a dent in the corner, and all the legs had gashes and chips on them. I immediately called to advise I want a full refund and someone to come get the damaged items, they told me it would be two weeks until that could happen.

They refused my offer to deliver it myself to the store and retrieve my refund, but instead inconvenienced me and have me store their damaged goods for when it's convenient for them to come pick up -THEN return my money. That means I'd have to wait 2 WEEKS TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE A NEW DESK. They didn't care. So I did exactly what they'd have me do and decided to keep it if they refund me a whopping $40 dollars to help ease the blow of being taking advantage of. My conclusion: Hands down, WORSE shopping experience. EVER. False advertising, false delivery status, damaged product, poor customer service knowledge on products/equipment/ and skills. That was my very last purchase made with OfficeMax and Office Depot. Take care.

To date Office Max/Office Depot hasn't done anything. The only response, "It didn't happen." Please read my story and you decide... I've gone to this store numerous times in the last three years. One time two years ago I went in to have Calendars made with my husband's artwork. Of course this requires printing one page and then the next page has to be done opposite so the dates are not upside down on the Calendar. The woman helping me at the time made two mistakes. She originally gave me one of the mistakes back. I wouldn't have known there were two except another employee came back. When I started talking to him he says, "Oh sorry she made two mistakes." I said, "Can I please have the other mistake?" (Amazingly it was sitting nicely on a counter).

On January 16, 2016 of this year I went there because I had business to attend to in that area. I instructed the man that was working to put my thumb drive in and make a copy of 1 document that was in a folder titled BC (Business Cards). He made the copy and sat that and my thumb drive on the counter. In walks this same woman from two years ago. I told the man that I wanted to check the copy against the perforation on the paper I was going to use and that I would not need any more copies unless I determined that my spacing was correct. I walked over to the window to see through. When I did this the man picked up my thumb drive and inserted it back into the computer. I walked back over to the counter and said, "I won't be needing any more copies today." He says, "Okay." I said, "Can I have my drive back?" He said, "Yeah in just a minute."

He made no move to eject the disk. We just stood there for about 1-1 1/2 minutes watching a white screen on the computer. There wasn't much on the thumb drive but what was on there was proprietary artwork. I finally received my thumb drive back. I tried to contact them repeatedly. I was finally told to contact a different store Manager on Monday, January 25, 2016. I called him on Monday and explained what happened. He stated that he would call over and talk to the woman (who is the Impress Manager). He called me back within two to three minutes stating that he spoke with her and she stated that all professional protocol was followed that day. He also informed me that they have a very high "Code of Ethic" which keeps them from copying Intellectual Property that belongs to someone else.

I stated that protocol was not followed as the man picked my thumb drive up and plugged it back into the computer without my authority. He said, "Well I don't know why he did that but they would not steal anything. I've known (the woman manager) for three years and she wouldn't do that and risk her job." So was my proprietary artwork stolen off my drive? If you see pictures like my Profile Picture and they don't come from AshleyArts.com than we will know. Feel Free to go to the Website and contact us. We will post any good comments on the Website as a blog.

I had a very horrible experience with I believe is an independent contractor who delivers products purchased from Office Depot. However, Office Depot hired them. The delivery persons I dealt with were absolutely nothing but unprofessional. I was advised my order would be delivered in Houston on January 20, 2016. Allegedly a guy unbeknownst to me said he appeared at my office not on January 20, 2016 (the day I was in my office and didn't receive a phone call, email or text from Office Depot or the delivery guy about not delivering on the 20th) but on Jan 21 @ 8:30 am. I was in traffic. He left a message on my VM and I called back and asked when it would be redelivered. This super ignorant and rude so called human being stated he couldn't tell me a date and time and he didn't care if I filed a complaint because he wasn't supposed to be delivering to me anyway.

I gathered maybe he was delivering for a friend. Never received a call ever again from this ignorant subhuman being. Office Depot indicated when I spoke with them that someone would before 5 pm that day. It never happened. Later that night went to Office Depot and a young lady ensured me that no doubt between 1 pm and 5 pm January 22, I would receive it. Guess what no driver whom Office Depot is responsible for delivering my order ever showed up. Office Depot said they couldn't reach the driver or the company.

I decided to cancel the order. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I purchased a better product from Staples and saved $100.00. To be warned is to be forearmed. I hope you don't have to wait for an entire day with no delivery and/or have you wait from early morning until late around 5-6 pm and if you step out to run an errand or use the restroom. You are ** out of luck. Office Depot you owe it to your customers to treat them with respect and hire more professional contractors to deliver your products. I will not be using Office Depot anymore in the future to deliver a product. They are horrible in that area. I guess how much should I really expect out of some guys like that who are not intelligent in the least and will continue to get business from Office Depot.

They agreed to wipe my drive at my request and I also asked them to fix my tablet to run normal again. My Kindle app was not working prior taking my tablet in and I felt it had to do with Windows system. They agreed to fix it. I picked it up today and find that they did not fix the problem. My tablet was not able to get updates from Windows. Because I have to take my tablet elsewhere to have it fixed, I asked them for a refund or a half refund. They declined and claimed they worked on it.

I took my tablet to a PC shop in Salem. They were shocked with what Office Depot tech people did to my tablet. What Office Depot did was wipe my drive and left my tablet in a pre SP1 state. Now that I lost $49.99 and will have to pay $100 to my local PC shop for my tablet repair. I am not happy with Office Depot Tech department. Unprofessional and failed to do what I asked them to do. They tried to talk out of me to get Microsoft pack for $149.99. I declined because I don't know if my tablet was working correctly.

Apparently UPS got the package to Hodgkins, IL and lost it. There was never an update and no package was delivered. Since then I have contacted the Office Depot multiple times via email through their web page, phone calls, and even going to a local store in Yorkville, IL and asking for assistance.

A month has now passed - my credit card was charged and no package and no refund. I have already repurchased my order and this is unacceptable. I called today and was told I CANNOT receive my refund until UPS returns the package. Which my guess is will never happen - since the great (tongue in cheek) carrier has lost this package. My recommendation is NEVER purchase anything from this cash devouring company. And NEVER ship with UPS. This is the second package in the last year the company has lost.

After multiple negative experiences at Office Max, have finally decided to write this review. Office Max is one of the worst run chains in America. Here's why. The personnel of every Office Max store I have been in exudes a "could care less" attitude. It reminds me of getting in line at the Post Office. I don't buy much there - blank CDs or DVDs, occasionally pencils or pens. The store is poorly organized. The signs don't help much and God forbid you are able to get the attention of anyone working there for help. My repeated experience has been that even if you do, you will likely get a less than satisfactory answer. You'll get something like a point across the store and "I think they're in the third aisle". So the first place you'll waste time is finding the product you want.

The second issue you will find is getting checked out. No matter how slow the day or how few the customers are, it takes an inordinate amount of time to get checked out. I have no idea why this is, but I have noticed that the clerks will go out of their way to avoid waiting on you. Many employees are simply standing around, avoiding customers at any cost. Can't be a mistake - I have had the same experience multiple times in multiple Office Max locations.

Today was the last straw. Tried to buy a pack of pencils. Got in line behind a return. After 5 minutes or so, the clerk advised myself and another customer to try another line. So myself and another customer moved. People got in line behind us. Another clerk took those people to another line where they were waited on. An argument ensued between the customer in front of me and the clerk. Manager came over and a squabble began.

I moved lines again. This time, behind yet another return. I should say multiple returns. This went on another ten minutes. No manager or clerk offered to help. I finally put the pencils down and walked out and as I was leaving one of the disinterested clerks said sarcastically "Have a nice day". I'm all done as a customer of this wretched store and my advice to management is to raise your wages and get some decent employees and train them in how to wait on customers and expedite transactions. My guess is that will never happen.

On 11/28/2015 my daughter and I went to the OfficeMax #6353 at 199 Boston Post Road West, Marlborough, MA in search of a desk and office chair. We arrived not too long after the location was opened that Saturday and was able to find something that really appealed to both of us as it had the size, color and price that we did not want to pass up. Around 11 am, we agreed to purchase and spoke with an associate. The associate told us that they had no more in stock and then looked online only to report that items 101095 & 101075 were not available anywhere.

I asked if I could have a rain check so that I can get the desk and hutch bundle at this price once it was back in stock. I insisted that I should be able to get the item as advertised, especially since the signage was still on display inside the store (which meant to be that the item should still be available). I had gone so far with my insistence that I asked if there were someone else I could speak to about the matter. The associate indicated that there was no one. The associate spoke to the manager on duty through the headset only.

The associate finally offered to have someone contact me in order to find the desk and hutch and had me fill out a form with my contact information. He indicated that the woman would be able to tell me if these items could be ordered but informed me that the sale would be over and that I might not be able to get the desk and hutch bundle at the price that was advertised.

I filled out the form as requested and was informed that we would hear something within 24-48 business hours. My daughter and I left the store feeling quite disappointed. We had lunch at a restaurant in the same shopping center where it occurred to us that we did not search for the same desk in the other two colors and that we might still be successful.

After eating, we went back to OfficeMax where we saw the same associate and asked him to search for the same desk & hutch bundle, but in the other colors (Honey Maple and Cherry). He performed his search on the computer and again indicated that they were not available. He said there was a strong possibility that this item would not restock once the supply had been depleted (which it had appeared to have done). My daughter then asked him if we could purchase the floor model. He indicated that they could not sell this particular floor model. I decided to check the display to see if they had at least taken down the signage since they knew that they were advertising an item they did not have. They had not. I waited for my phone call, but never received one.

On 12/20/2015, my daughter and I returned to the OfficeMax in Marlborough to purchase the chair we decided on during our 11/28/2015 visit. We were able to find the chair without issue. After picking up desk organizers for the desk we purchased from another retailer online, we circled around the area where the desk that we really wanted/preferred was displayed only to find that it was still standing and that it was on sale again. I took a picture of the display to compare to the original display picture to compare item numbers to see if it was truly the same item or something similar. My comparison of the signage confirmed that the display was advertising the same desk a hutch that I had seen on 11/28/2015. Needless to say, I was very angry and felt cheated by OfficeMax. I not only find this experience to be unfair, but don't know why it is not illegal.

So now the item, which cannot be ordered any place else for same low price, & which should have been delivered on Dec 21st, has been reordered with an expected delivery date of 1/4. I ordered an office chair to be delivered. The delivery was supposed to be today. When I went to track my order, the website says my order has been delivered. It has not been delivered. A call to Customer Service was unsatisfactory. I was told the chair had been delivered to my front door and asked to check my front door area. I had already checked the area, plus the area by my garage and my back yard. I also had checked my neighbor's front door in case the chair had mistakenly been delivered there. No chair.

Maria at Customer Service was not helpful, insisting the chair had been delivered. I've been home all day and have been sitting at my computer in front of my front window all day and no truck delivered anything. No chance for anyone to steal it if it hasn't been delivered in the first place and I was sitting in the window watching all day. Maria then tried to input delivery of another chair for tomorrow but said the system would not let her do that and that I should call back after 5pm if I had not yet received the chair. I pointed out that the tracking information on Office Depot's website states the chair has been delivered. But Maria then insisted it must still be on the truck and to call back after 5pm if I haven't received it by then. Huh?

Additionally, when I first tried to order this chair I had been given a 20% coupon by a saleswoman in my local Office Depot that states very clearly it was for online use but the website would not take it. This same Maria could not help me but only offer me $30 off the chair. The coupon would have given me $42 off the chair. I finally got that resolved and did get the 20% off. That experience made me so angry that I almost didn't order the chair at all and should have been my first clue. But my husband really wanted this office chair so I bit the bullet and ordered it. I'd have picked it up myself but I'm an elderly woman and unable to lift it. I will never, ever order a product from Office Depot again. And I'm still hoping that somehow the chair is delivered otherwise I'll have to dispute the charge on my credit card.

No way to track any of the boxes. I was given a reference number and was told someone would get back to me. I checked on their site a few hours later and saw that OD was issuing a return on one of the missing items. I called customer service again. They had no idea what was going on with the return. I asked about the third item. I was told that it was never shipped because it was out of stock. I told them that that was funny because according to customer service a few hours ago, the item was delivered today. It took this person over twenty minutes to discover that the item was being reshipped.

She said, "I want to make really really sure". I responded, "Why, because you were only really sure earlier?" I could barely understand her and she had no idea what was going on. I asked if I was just suppose to sit on my hands waiting for the needed items to POSSIBLY show up? She responded, "Thank you for calling Office Depot. We appreciate your business". I told her that I would never shop at Office Depot again. So, I have no idea if the items are in stock, if they are being shipped, when they will arrive or if I'll ever see a refund on my credit card. I traveled 1 hour round trip when I have an OfficeMax 5 minutes away, because this store was the only OfficeMax in the area with the computer I wanted and I received an email stating my online order was ready for pick up. When I arrived at the store, the order was not there for pick up. The manager offered me the floor model. I asked for a substitution, but he was only willing to give me an inferior model (4G instead of 8G as ordered). I finally agreed to take the floor model at a $50 discount. I specifically told him I did not want a service contract. At the register he charged me for a $79.99 service contract (the cost of the service contract for a $299 item.)

I told him that the service contract for a $249.99 item, the reduced price, was $59.99. I would be willing to pay that, but not the higher priced service contract for a higher priced item. I was willing to walk out of the store spending $10 more than I had planned, but not $30. I told him I was going to call customer service, but it appears he called them first. They hung up three times when I called on my own phone and asked for a supervisor and didn't connect me to one when I asked them to do so from the store phone. The customer agent would not do anything about the situation.

I bought Toshiba Laptop on 11/27/2015 (item #441548) Black Friday advertisement and choose to pick it up from office max store (office depot) in 13728 Jamboree Road, Irvine, CA. At the time I purchased, the item was available in their website and after pay through PayPal, I have got order confirmation in my email. I got another email about the order is ready to pick up. I called the store to make sure it's ready to pick up because it was far from my place and they said they don't have this item anymore. I called customer service wasting my time for 40 minutes and they passed me to next day to change my pick up location and put note on my situation. I called costumer service the day after and they said they don't have item and they will send my money back.

They messed up my Black Friday; I didn't use other sellers and lost all deals. They cannot do business like this. Their customer service just learned to say apologies every other sentence. They cannot speak English well and repeat words and sentences 10 times a minutes. How can I get the laptop or my money faster or penalty? I am completely dissatisfied about my business with them. And actually the reason of my complaint today is they have the item and change the price to $80 more. I have all snapshots, my order confirmation and the denied situation in my PayPal account. Is there any possibility to sue them?

Bragged about Black Monday, but no % off on what they call electronics (anything that plugs in). Took 20 minute survey and still no discount for next buy. Went to Wal-Mart online. Office Depot now requires you to have an account with Veterans Advantage to get a 20% military discount. When I took a look at the website to check it out Veterans Advantage requires you to pay a minimum of $5 per month to belong. It includes more than just discounts but insurance as well. That is not a military discount - at the register that is a club. I have to say I am pretty disappointed in Office Depot. Go back to the standard military discount at the register and don't make us join a club we have to pay, not just once but monthly! Veteransadvantage.com

Went to Office Depot in Tarzana. Own a very expensive DSLR camera and pro class lenses. Took photo in RAW of my kids... the highest level of photo memory. The lady printed 3 pictures on 8x10... one was fair and other two were garbage, pixelated and uneven ink spread and terrible color. She blamed it on the size of the prints... in fact SHE admitted that set the print PPI one at 72, one at 272. It was a huge industrial printer they used. The proper set should have been for an 8-10 cropped should have been about 2400x3000. She then lit into me about my photo skills, camera, memory and lens. NEVER go to OD for any photo printing EVER. They don't hire quality personnel nor train them for such work.

We were very excited at my office to be ordering a nice Epson projector at a reasonable price from Office Depot online. We ordered the projector, but it never arrived. I called the 800 number and put in my order #, only to find the order was cancelled. So we called and asked why. They said the card was declined (despite us having a ridiculous limit), but we never received a decline notice. We thought the package was shipped. So we place the order again, this time over the phone, with credit card in hand. The salesperson, Jeremy, said it would 'absolutely' be shipped and that the card was processed. It was supposed to arrive today, but didn't. I called the number again. Again, it said the order was cancelled due to a declined card. Again, no notice of a declined card.

We will no longer do business with Office Depot. Our card was charged just fine by Walmart at a $60 discount of the Office Depot price. AND they sent us tracking info, and a notification when the card was approved. Office Depot's customer service, for lack of a better word, sucks. I guess they really don't like money. They don't communicate and seem to have trouble with simple credit card transactions. Never again. We've wasted three weeks waiting for the projector which did impact our business.

I had to ship my product to Asurion. 2 weeks later I received a refund just for the value on an Office Max gift card. I could only buy another printer for the same value smaller printer compared to the one I return. They did not refund the sales tax from the old printer and I have to pay the sales tax for the new printer.

I had purchased a HP Pavilion laptop for $499.99 during Black Friday (full retail value was listed on receipt at $799.99). I had also purchased a premium protection plan with the laptop that was supposed to last for two years. Another computer was also purchased on the same day and with it a replacement plan. At the end of my two-year plan, two of my keys stopped working. I took it to Office Depot to have it serviced under the terms of the protection plan. I was told that I had to call their tech support line. On that line, the customer service member told me to send it in using the shipping label he was to send me. They would assess to see if it could be repaired. I did exactly that.

I received an email on October 25 explaining that my claim had been opened. The next steps were listed as "Product details sent," "Resolution Determined" and "Claim Resolved." The next email I received was on October 28 stating that my claim had been resolved and that I was being issued a e-giftcard for $269.99, the value for the other computer that was on the receipt. I called customer service and they told me that my computer had been recycled. Thanks to an error on the customer service team, my computer was recycled and replaced when I had originally purchased a service plan. They did not check the model with the one listed on the receipt. Both models were different.

I have documentation to back up everything that I am listing out here, and blatant abuses of their terms and services. The $120 protection plan that I purchased has amounted to me losing my computer and receiving only half of what I originally paid for it. As of yet, I have not received full compensation for the replacement of the computer nor reparation for destroying my previous model.

I ordered a file cabinet on a Thursday for delivery to my office. It was an updated model of the same file cabinet I had ordered 2 years ago and the plan was to place it next to the other one, so I just ordered directly from the same place I had ordered previously. I received an initial notification that it would be delivered the following day (a Friday) but later received another email notification that it would be delivered on Monday between 8:30 and 5 pm. I alerted my building. On Saturday I received a phone call from the delivery service with the window of 1 pm to 5 pm. I gave my cell phone number to request a call and was told they would call 30 minutes prior to the delivery. I waited all day and at 5:15 pm I called customer service (the online tracking didn't work) and got routed to a call center that sounded like it was in the Philippines. They were very apologetic but truly had no idea what they were talking about.

They said they had no way to call the delivery service, but would send a message and told me the delivery for sure would take place Tuesday morning (I later found out they never apparently contacted the delivery service). I got a missed call from the delivery person at 5:55 that they were going to deliver it (but I was gone and the building was closed for the day anyway.) On Tuesday it didn't arrive either, so I called again and was told it would arrive on Wednesday. It didn't arrive Wednesday either so I called again and again had a conversation with a very polite person from the Philippines. I asked to speak to a supervisor who called the delivery service and reported that they had reported I had not been there during the Monday delivery window and that there has never been a delivery scheduled after that. They agreed to reschedule for Friday and said it would be sometime Friday.

I explained that I had another commitment on Friday morning and so it needed to be the afternoon which didn't seem unreasonable since I had already spent 3 days waiting for it. They said they couldn't usually promise a particular window but agreed in light of my troubles to specify it for the afternoon and to refund the $49 delivery fee. On Thursday I got a call to my home phone (despite the fact that every time I spoke to them I gave my cell phone number) and they told me they planned to deliver it Friday morning. I explained that I could not be there Friday morning and that I had been promised a Friday afternoon delivery time because of my repeated troubles.

They said there was no note of such and they would only reschedule the delivery for the following week. In a fit of rage I rashly cancelled the delivery. I then went online to Staples (it was Thursday again) and found the same file cabinet for $200 less and free delivery. So I ordered it and it arrived this afternoon at 1:55 pm (between my patients).

In August, 2015, Office Depot sent me an email special on copy paper and I ordered (4) cases online and paid with a charge card. The order detail showed the paper will be delivered the next day. Next day came...no paper. I called ask where is the paper...it is scheduled to be delivered next day..next day no paper. Next week still no paper. I received another email special on copy paper and this time I ordered (5) cases and paid with a charge card. Again the order detail shows delivery the next day and as before, no paper. A week later both orders show up and I politely refused the paper.

I called and requested credit for both orders. I was given (2) cancellation numbers. The credit did not appear on my August nor September credit card statement. On the 13th of October, I called to ask when will I receive credit for the paper not accepted. I was told that the paper was delivered. (Really) After a brief debate and their review, again credit was issued for both orders. Here we go again. On October 1, 2015 another emailed copy paper special and I ordered (5) cases and paid for it. The order detail showed delivery next day. Next day no paper. Our store closed and the entire staff was off on vacation for one week and while on vacation another email came and I ordered another (5) cases and paid for it.

Delivery scheduled for the first day back on the job. Monday came. No paper. Called and the paper should be out that day Tuesday. Still no paper. Wednesday afternoon the delivery person came through the door with (2) cases of paper and said he forgot the rest. I called Office Depot HQ and left a message and someone by the name of Dell ** called back late that afternoon and apologized. After explaining to her how disappointed I was with their service she said she would look into it. The next morning the same driver showed up with (3) cases of paper and said he would be back with the rest. Mark you, the order is for (5) cases of paper. Delivery not as promised and being brought in by piecemeal. There is still (5) more cases of paper due (10) was ordered. The next day the driver shows up with (3) cases of paper. Where is the remaining (2). He don't know.

After (3) unreturned phone calls, over days, to Ms. **, at Office Depot HQ, she finally called back and left a message on my answering machine requesting information about credits she saw on my account for 2-different amounts (the credit that should have been issued back in August) nothing about the current situation at hand. Where is the remaining (2) cases of paper? As of writing of this review no paper no response from their HQ person.

With the above-stated level of service, I do not see how Office Depot can maintain a good relationship with their customers if others are receiving the same level of service. Years ago, next day meant next day guaranteed. Now it appears they do not care neither in service or response. I have now blocked the Office Depot emails and have no reason to order or visit the retail stores. We have been in business for 32 years now and if I treated my customers like that, my doors would be closed. Maybe that is their objective. Sorry to be so long-winded but it really happened.

There has been no explanation, no contact by Office Depot, and I had to contact Customer Service and ask where the rest of my orders were. The first time, a chair mat did not arrive, and when I called to ask why, the rep at OD determined that it was left on the truck. She told me that I had to call the delivery company and report it. I replied that I would NOT do this... it was Office Depot who contracted with the trucking co. and they could fix it all and send me the item.

Finally, after about 5 days, I did receive the mat. This time, 5 out of the 6 items I ordered were on the truck, and the driver told me that the ream of copy paper was not in the order (it was on the delivery form). I used the live chat feature for OD this time, and the rep said she has processed re-delivery and the box should arrive tomorrow. We shall see. I'm wondering if these problems are a result of the merger of OfficeMax and Office Depot. I think I will looking for a new supplier.

If only I would have read these reviews prior to making my order, I wouldn't have made an online purchase at all. Upon discovering these countless negative reviews after placing my order, I figured heck, maybe these people got unlucky and it probably won't happen to me. Do not order anything via website, you will definitely not be getting the item anywhere near the estimated delivery date, nor will you be getting any phone call from their "3rd party shipping provider" to give you a delivery window. Since the delivered item requires a signature, this means you might as well spend the next month of your life sitting at home waiting for your item if you don't want it sent back to the shipper and be in limbo for the next 6 months.

If the store has the item in stock at your local branch, PLEASE heed my advice and just buy it in the store. DO NOT purchase anything from their online system, you will surely regret doing so. IF YOU HAVE NO CHOICE, use either PayPal or a credit card so that you can easily file a dispute in the event your item never shows up. Which believe it or not, is highly likely.

The representative said I would receive an email confirmation of the order and would be notified when the items were in stock and to be delivered. I received the email, but it did not reflect the sale price; the amount to be charged was double the amount I was given at the time of purchase. I called in and was told there is a coupon that "should" be added after the item was actually received. I was also told that sometimes the coupon does not get added, but that they would issue a credit if I called to inform them should this happen. I call to check the status approximately 1 week later and was told they were just not sure of an estimated date the item would be in stock. This happened a couple of times, but I was okay with the wait.

At the point I was informed the paper would be delivered, I was given a date we were to receive the delivery on or before, and the confirmation email showed the amount of the purchase made. Paper never came. I waited the entire week. No paper, no call, no email. I called the following week to check the order status and was told the paper was delivered. It was not. I was told they had no idea what happened. I was told a message would be escalated to the appropriate department to have the issue resolved, and I was told to expect a call within 4 hours. No call, no email. I call again and am told they are not sure what happened. I am told a message someone from a local store would be contacting me by phone or email to have the paper re-delivered. Nothing.

At the time of the NEXT call to them, I am told there are no options available but to credit us. After waiting, repeated calls, being placed on hold countless times, speaking to numerous representatives and supervisors, and wasting hours, I am told they are not sure what happened and they can only issue a credit for the purchase. I ask to pick up the paper at a store since the purchase was already made, and we have waited so long. I am told No, this was not possible until I get angry. THEN, after being placed on hold again, the supervisor tells me she has contacted a local store, gives me the store address, tells me she confirmed with the store that they have the cases of paper available for pick-up, and that she would be calling me the next day as soon as she came in, to be sure everything was set up.

She said the time there, which was eastern time, was near the end of the business day and the department she needed to reach was closed. Of course, I received no call. I call again and am told there is no documentation of the prior day's conversation, they have no idea what supervisor I spoke to because they have many call centers, and there is nothing they can do to help. I am told the situation would be escalated, and someone would contact me within 4 hours. I am so disappointed.

For reasons I will not divulge here, I forgot all about the chair until 9/10 when I realized it was never delivered. I checked online and saw that it was labeled as delivered. I chatted with customer service and was told someone would call me on 9/11. No one called. On the night of 9/11 I called customer service. At this point I requested to speak with a supervisor. After waiting on hold for over 20 minutes I finally agreed to a call back.

Today is 9/27 and I am still waiting. This has been going on for 26 days! I live approximately 1-1/2 hours from the nearest OfficeMax and it could have been walked to my home in this time. At this point, I have requested an additional 40% refund of my purchase price to me for my abused patience, which this company does not deserve any longer. (That would be an additional $80 refunded to me). I will be exchanging this chair with the proper one IN STORE. It is worth it to me to rent a larger vehicle to end this transaction with this company. This has been the worst shopping experience I have ever had with any company. There is no way they can fix this. There is no way I will ever spend my hard earned money at any of their stores again. As I said, their nearest store is 1-1/2 hours from my home, but so is Staples.

In one case I was told it would be picked up the next day.

It is now 20 days later and it is still not picked up. I believe that although Office Depot agreed to the return, they are hoping that I will forget about it because of the hassle in getting it picked up. I understand that UPS is supposed to pick it up. If they wanted to serve the customer, they would just email me a return label and let me take it to their store, since Office Depot is a UPS pickup point.

When they process my refund I only got $1017.50, apparently $76.86 I won't get refunded until the warehouse gets the part back. I'm thinking they may not even refund me. It was not my fault that they sent the wrong part in the first place. I paid for the part at store, I should get full refund at store. I will never do business here again and should have went to Best Buy. I also plan on filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Sept 18, 2015 - A week ago we ordered 4 pieces of office furniture from Office Depot. On Tuesday the chair was delivered. The sales person said no one needed to be home to sign for the furniture... it would be dropped at our door. I finally called on Wednesday and was clued in that there was attempt to deliver but with no one to sign it was returned. I gave them verbal approval for delivery without a signature. Thursday no delivery, and today, Friday, after several conversations with their customer service dept. I was told that it would be delivered Monday.

I have initiated 9 phone calls with Office Depot, most with people who I could not understand and finally this evening a supervisor. She assured me that they would "escalate" the service. Most of the customer service agents I talked to could not furnish me with a delivery company, a tracking #, or any expected time of delivery. I was promised a phone call in return many times but at this time have had zero initiated by the local store or their customer service department or the delivery company. They have my order #, my phone number, and my email. The behavior of this company is inexcusable in this age of very capable technology. I predict they will be out of business in less than a year and, in my humble opinion, they deserve to be. They definitely need to be turned into the Better Business Bureau according to the testimonies of the many here recorded.

The store manager called me and said that after talking with both employees and that they had both told me they would honor the coupon, that he would be glad to adjust my ticket.

The coupon I tried to use was a set dollar amount off any clearance computer (which the computer I purchased was on clearance).

    Original Review: Sept. 17, 2015

Today is the reason why big stores should not merge, they no longer have to be nice - there is no competition. In the past, when I went to Office Depot, I would take coupons, ads, etc from either Staples and OfficeMax, and they would gladly match the price or honor the coupon. Office Depot has now merged with OfficeMax so I guess they think they no longer have to play nice. The dreaded day came yesterday - my computer died and no, I did not have everything backed up. So, after talking to my computer guy we came to the conclusion to go ahead and get another computer and he told me that HP was a good brand.

So, off shopping I go. Since I had always gone (for the past 3 computers) to the Office Depot in Suwanee, that is where I went. I also had a "coupon" that I downloaded from Staples that was for $100 off an in-store purchase of any clearance computer of $199 or more (the one I picked out was $599). I asked my sales person if they would accept a coupon from Staples and he said "Yes" - no hesitation. He then called someone else to get the computer and the guy came and did his little wand and said yes they have one, and I told him about the coupon. He said he didn't know, but he said if they could not he should have an email. He came back out and brought the computer and said that while he could not find anything in his email about not accepting this coupon, but then of course he called his manager at home, and no go from the manager... Duh, he has a customer, why would he accept a coupon?

I then called Office Depot Customer Service. "BJ" said that they don't accept coupons online, but some stores still accept them. She would do an accommodation if I would place the order with her. Why would I do that? I already had it in my house, in the box, but in the house. At this point, I'm seriously rethinking doing any further business with Office Depot. Wake up OD, you still need to take care of your established customers!!!

On June 10, 2015 I purchased items at an Office Depot store in San Diego, they did not have a couple items I needed in stock, so I was told I had to order them online from Office Depot. They placed the order and we received the items later by mail, but 2 of the 3 items were not what we requested. I tried to return them in person at the same Office Depot and was told they don't handle any returns for online items. She refused to help me and would not process the return. I had the receipt, the items were in their original packaging and sealed. The Office Depot employees were most unhelpful, dismissive and argued with me that they don't carry that brand, when in fact I just bought it there.

Then I tried to return the items by phone by calling 1-800-463-3768 on 8-24-15. Office Depot customer service instructed me to repackage the items, label it for the carrier and said the items would be picked up on 8-25. No one came, so I called again on 8-26, 8-31, and 9-9. It is 9-15 today and the package is still waiting to be picked up. I followed Office Depot's return instructions and I simply want the company to give me my money back. Office Depot clearly demonstrated that it does not value customer satisfaction and so they should not expect repeat business. Office Depot keeps getting bigger but certainly no better.

I purchased a desk and hutch from Office Depot on 8/14/2015. The desk came damaged and unusable so I immediately called (on 8/14) and had a return started. I was told that the carrier would arrive on 8/21 to pick up my package, but they did not. I called in and was told by a Customer Service representative that they were unable to contact the carrier but that my case had been escalated and they would be returning my call. My call was not returned. I called back and explained the situation, an agent apologized and said they had escalated this to "the highest levels" and my call would be returned. It was not returned.

A week later I called and demanded to speak to a supervisor. He could not contact the carrier, "escalated the case", and said that he had spoken with the billing department and that my money would be returned since this was not my fault. He said they would be calling me back by the end of the day with more information on next steps. I explained to the supervisor that multiple agents had made that promise and I had never received a call. He assured me that if the resolution department did not call me back that he would call me personally. He did not call me back.

I spoke to another supervisor today. After waiting for an hour she again called the carrier and was unable to connect with them. She said that the original supervisor had lied and that my money would not be returned to me until they got the package. She said she knew this had already been escalated multiple time without result - but all she could do was escalate this again to her "resolution department". I believe that this is extraordinarily unethical - I paid a significant amount of money for broken furniture and now it appears that I have no way to return it. I have an Office Depot a few miles down the street but I am unable to return these items in the store myself because the "systems are different". I truly hope NO ONE buys anything from this company and has to go through what I'm dealing with.

In my life of 54 years I had never seen such a company or corporation badly disorganized. Every store has specific prices. There are papers that are thicker than regular (65 lb package). I have bought it for six different prices in six stores. Something very funny is that suppose I have a paper having image of a business card, if they want to copy it on 10 papers it must be 8 times 13 = 1.04 $ total plus tax but in some of these stores they say because it is the business card you must pay 16.99$. Even in the specific store that I designed and paid fully (1201 N Central Expy, Plano, TX 75075) I must pay 16.99 to print 10 papers.

It is interesting. It depends on the specific employee who works there. Some employees accept one Dollar, the others say 17$!!! Although the most reason for the problem of this store is the retaliative-discriminative attitude of its manager (I will follow it up separately) but totally there is a very severe disorganization along with certain actions of some employees and managers that is going to bring this very good stores down.

Believe or not, for any action I need to go specific store to have the logic prices. I shall add one of the managers of the store located in Forest on and Josey in Dallas (the lady who is skinny) is very nice. There is an employee who works in store 901 N central Expressway. She is working there for several years and I really accept her as a very talented and generous person. Unfortunately forgot her name but will tell you later. In fact I have not seen more than 8 stores to judge generally but the managers in Plano would cause problem for you. I wish you consider this.

Difficulty in getting exchange pick-up and delivery, multiple phone calls, no response. The issue started with a phone call to exchange a damaged item. A pick-up of the old item and drop off of a new one was processed on 7/25 and scheduled for 7/29. Someone was supposed to call the day before to give a 2-hour window. No call, and no pick up or delivery took place. I called and inquired and was escalated to the customer service team. Then received another call for another delivery day, and again no pick up or delivery took place. Then called again and was told to wait until 5 and that the item is going to be delivered that day. I waited at home and it did not happen. Then called again, and was told to wait until 7 because delivery can be delayed, and sure enough nothing happened.

Then called again, and I was told delivery will happen the next day, and that I should leave the damaged item on my porch and they will let the drivers know to pick up and leave the new item at the porch. Did not happen. Then called again, and was told they will check with the driver but the driver went home already, so wait until the next day and someone will call me in 4 business hours to schedule a delivery (and was given a confirmation number for the request). Of course no one called, and I returned home and no pick up or delivery was made. Then I called again, and was told that the item was delivered already 2 days ago and was signed for my DRLS and was left on my porch. Of course, there is no DRLS or anyone else in my household, and the damaged item is still on the porch, and no delivery was made.

Now, I have been on hold for exactly 33 minutes (because the supervisors are in a meeting and don't care I guess... Still on hold as I type. Oh now after over 40 minutes she hung up. Must be a way to deal with things at Office Depot!!! Problem not resolved. What I need to know - Does this company have any degree of self-respect? How shameful. How can they treat customers like that? The damaged item contains a big piece of glass, and as such is hazardous if mishandled, and is sitting for days distorting my front porch. Not to mention I still do not have my desk as I still did not received my item.

Compare this to receiving a new item, No problem, but when it comes to exchange they make you go through all this. And lying to say they delivered it is another story that contradicts itself. If it was signed for by someone, then how come they claim it was left on the porch? If truly delivered, then how come they did not pick up the damaged item? And when I asked about where they delivered it and who is DRLS they said they don't know!!!

It was for an event my company was hosting. I paid cash because it was a last minute purchase before door open. I ended up with 1 box of counterfeit detection pens & 2 boxes of self laminating labels left by 6/10/2015. I went to the store in the morning, unhappy. My employee misplaced the receipt for the items purchased. I was informed that I would get store credit (which is perfectly fine...) but at the lowest price in the system or 50% of the retail value of the items. I wasn't satisfied with this answer so I told the cashier I'd have my employees look for it more. About 45 mins before store closing, I sent my employee back with the items left, with no luck finding this receipt.

The items were 39.99 & 22.99 x2. He got a total of $37 in merchandise credit refunded onto a gift card. I'm livid at this point. That's not even the price of 1 item! I feel as if this company is taking advantage of consumers who aren't the most organized, and possibly stereotype the customer who is having the issue at hand. Not everyone is a return addict, nor is a tattooed person (mind you my employee is heavily tattooed, nothing offensive). These employees I have are extremely educated, and polite.

While this Office Depot employee unkempt, shirt dirty & had the vocabulary and communication skills of a 6 year old burn out. The manager of the store was rude, inconsistent with their return policy, clearly not of the fair corporate policy given online & posted in store, and needed to possibly be trained again in customer service etiquette. Don't rip off your consumers for misplacing a receipt for your overpriced office supplies, and pay more attention to your corporate guidelines & fair practices because that may be the key to your company's demise! From now on, my company will be using Staples.

Contacted customer service to cancel an order, was told it was already being delivered. They issued a return and stated it would be picked up that afternoon. I asked them to send me the return shipping label to put onto the package and was told the driver would have the paperwork. The driver did not have any paperwork and knew nothing about it. Called again the next morning with same request, company refused to send me copy of paperwork again insisting driver would have the return pick-up paperwork.

It is now six days out and I once again spent over an hour and a half on the phone speaking with two supervisors and a manager. Was told I only needed to put the RMA number on the package and the driver had the pick-up paperwork. The driver did not have any paperwork. Again called Office Depot and requested to speak with the manager ** who I had spoke with earlier, was told I could not speak with a supervisor or manager. I was told if I wanted a credit on the item I had to return the chair to the store myself. This chair weighs more than I do and is too large and bulky to even fit into my vehicle. Tried calling the corporate office to file a complaint and was put on hold for five minutes then received a voice mail stating they would return the call within 48 hours. Horrible customer service.
