This is the second time in the past two weeks that I use the Office Depot in Apex to print posters. The first time, the young girl took a long to figure out how to set up the printer to the poster size, printed at least 3 posters that were lengthwise, larger or not adjusted then at last when she got it right, while she cut one of the posters around she chopped a part of the writing. Did the same things with the flyers and took a while to figure out the correct size after printing a couple in error.
Then today, I was served by another person, supposedly a manager, her name was Jenny. She was very loud and right away informed me that they don't print on the spot. I have to pick it up the following day, despite the fact that I have printed on the spot before many times. When I told her that she got aggressive, repeated in a loud voice in a manner as if I don't understand. I gave her the flash drive, she pulled it up, and when I asked about the price of the poster size I chose, she starting singing in a loud voice that everyone around can clearly hear, the kept making tunes with where are the prices, the size of the poster...on and on until she got the information.
Then she continued the process of filling the order form, then she said I come the following day. Then when I expressed that I didn't want to leave my flash drive behind, she started acting more weird. I asked her if I can email it from home, she gave me the flash drive, pointed to the email address printed on the counter and kept repeating the I will have to take it tomorrow still although I understood this part a while ago.
Then she turned to another employee and started explaining to him my order and saying that it will be done at least by tomorrow and when I told her you said tomorrow, she turned and told me that it depends on when I send the email. Then made a point to make me uncomfortable and said, "Do you still need anything else", and when I walked she started laughing frantically while still holding the order and talking to her colleague. The organization I work for always uses this office but I think that should be the end of it.
Hi Mona,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, this is definitely not the experience that we want our customers to have. Would you mind responding to this post with your contact info? I'd like to have our Customer Relations Team as well as the local District Manager follow up with you to address this. STEER CLEAR!!!! Everyone I have dealt with is bothered by presence in the store and are completely unwilling to be helpful. My info was entered incorrectly for a rewards program and they CAN NOT fix it???? What???? Print services are outrageously expensive, I spent $140.00 for 100 2 sided color flyers. I tried to get my due discount by being a member of a group that offers significant savings but because of their error I did not get it. I was in such a hurry I asked if I could back to resolve the issue. When I returned the old man who runs the print center was flippant and VERY unhelpful. I let it go and returned a third time to this store for a new project. This time they still could not/would not fix their previous error and give me my full discount and lo and behold were even ruder than before.
Now I tried to log in and do what I needed online, then just pick up in the store. Well that resulted in me getting kicked out of their system twice, because my information does not match AS THEY ENTERED IT WRONG IN THE STORE!!!! I am soooo done. I will buy construction paper and markers and make business cards etc before I EVER do business with these people again!!!!

Office Depot was supposed to schedule a carrier pick up of our ordered items to be returned for a refund. Didn't happen and I've had to do follow up calls with customer service which has been a complete waste of time. With each call, it is always the verbal reply that they will send an urgent request to the warehouse team. I'm assuming Office Depot's warehouse is non-existent because no one has replied to us 7 days (and counting) after the initial scheduled pick up. Worst yet, we have another order that's late shipped with no updates whatsoever as to what's happening with it. PLEASE REFUND AND CANCEL OUR ORDER. IF THERE'S ANYONE STILL AWAKE AND LOOKING AT THIS, DO CONTACT US FOR THE ORDER NUMBERS AND RESOLVE THIS!
Calvin,
I'm sorry we've provided you with such a bad experience and that we haven't solve the problem like we should have. I'd like to make this right for you and I'll be having our team reach out to you today using the contact information associated with the order number that you provided.
I'm very sorry about all of the problems that you've had with us.

Recently I saw an online special on copy paper. It was a good buy. I placed the order and was told it would be delivered to my office within 3 days. In the past, I could order online and the local store made the delivery. I assumed this was still the procedure. When it did not arrive, I dropped by the store and showed them the purchase receipt. I was told that they no longer deliver items purchased through the website. They use regular shipping services.
After a week, I hadn't received the shipment and made an inquiry. I was told that there was no record of my order. I advised them that I had printed the order, gave them the order number. Still no record of order. I told them to cancel the order. Well you can't cancel an order that they have no record of, so I called my Credit Card company, told them what happened and they reversed the charges.
A few days later the charge reappeared on my credit card, but this time there were three identical charges (for an order there was no record of.) My credit card company then reversed the charges, canceled my card and reissued me a new card and number. I then decided to not buy from OD/OM again. It's Amazon for me. Better prices, with Amazon Prime, free shipping and quicker accurate delivery. I'm saving money. Thank you Office Depot for steering me toward competent people, savings and quicker delivery.
Hi Ed,
Thank you for sharing your experience, this is definitely not the experience that we would like our customers to have. Would you mind sending us more detail so that we can research this? I'd like to find out what happened so that we can prevent it from happening again.
Please send the details and your contact information to us and we'll be happy to reach out to you.

They lost me as a customer for life today. I should have known better because I had previously had a bad experience where I canceled an order, redid an order to fix it, and it took almost 90 days to get the money back from them while I couldn't use it in the meantime. This time, I bought a laptop and it showed there were none on backorder so it was an original fulfillment and they charged my card immediately. Then this morning I wake up to find that they charged me an even greater price to fulfill the back order that did not exist.
They gave me the same spiel that the money will be back in my account in 7 to 10 days but I'm not holding my breath. What I know is I'm out over $2,000 because their tracking system isn't up-to-date, they automatically charge you without contacting you to fulfill the original order, and there is "nothing" they can do because they "haven't received the money." I will see if I ever get my money back or access to it while it pends. They tried to reform my missing money by less-than-doubling the rewards they did not apply. It is fancy money laundering. I'm done.
Hi Ashley,
I'm sorry about your experience, this is not the way we intend to treat our customers. I'd like to correct this for you and since you provided your order number, I'll be having a member of our team reach out to you using the contact information associated with the order.

For the first time I purchased remanufactured ink cartridges (Office Depot - Canon CLI-221) for a color ink jet printer instead of the Canon product. And for the first time, the cartridge leaked (and ruined a shirt) when I installed the ink cartridge in the printer. I recommend that you avoid the remanufactured ink cartridges from Office Depot and purchase the manufacturer's product. The nominal savings are not worth the clearly inferior product.
Bob - I'm sorry about your experience with our Office Depot brand cartridge. We'd like to resolve this for you, can you please send a copy of your comment to us along with your contact information and order/purchase details?
I look forward to taking care of this for you.

I purchased a small office refrigerator, that was broken upon delivery, to this day it is still sitting on my porch for pick up, that has been 10 days now, they will not process my refund for 7-10 days after it gets to their warehouse. Carrier refused to take back. Said it was too heavy although it was same one that delivered (UPS). I have been on the phone every day and emailed, I have been lied to about being picked up next day, and getting refund processed and being compensated for this nightmarish purchase. DO NOT BUY from this store unless you want them to keep your money for a month or longer to get a refund. NOT acceptable, had to call credit card company and dispute this charge. Beware of Office Depot!!!

I usually purchase my printer paper from Office Depot/Max for my business and always consider their advertisements that they send keeping in mind my office supply needs. Today I needed printer paper for my facility and decided to avail the 30% coupon that was offered along with a Free gift (Cotton Tote Set). I was very happy with my purchase as is always the case when doing business with Office Depot/Max.
When it came time to avail my offers the website did not accept my coupon code for the Tote offer. I needed the paper and so I submitted the offer and felt that once I called customer service things would be resolved. I decided to go online to chat and try to resolve my issue this way. To my dismay the representative pressed on about how only one coupon would be honored and gave me a scenario of how $20 off a $100 order would have accepted the Free Gift coupon but how my 30% coupon would not accept the Free gift coupon to go along with it even though, my purchase was well over the $75 total purchase order that they required before taxes. I feel that they should have honored the coupon for the free gift and saved themselves a customer. Their $24.99 free gift cost them a customer and future orders. BTW my personal account will not be used either.

I went in the store at 362 East Capitol Drive, To Buy a laptop, I found the one I loved. It was a Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1. The technician offered to set up all the programs. I was like fine. Came back later that night. Picked up my laptop. A week in It started blinking, one night I heard it ring twice & asked for a passcode. I tried to shake it off like no, how can my computer ring. One day my adapter stop working & the speakers, I called Dell. They told me the serial numbers or specs don’t match and that was one of their old computers shipped out earlier in 2018. I called the store I bought it from, the manager asked me for the service code number & she said, "Oh." Y’all she right. This was one of the Black Friday computers.
I contacted the district manager. Comes to find out my whole transaction was fraudulent on his part to get commission! But wait. This ** was remotely in my computer from his house & Office Depot has my crashed computer with all my information & job information with customers information! I talked to the Federal Trade Commission today. They told me to call the police to get my personal data & get the computer to have it investigated! I spoke with another office manager at the store & she stated she can not tell me exactly what happened to him or all the specifics of the case but he’s under investigation! Also he did a tax override on many items on the receipt! He had my laptop listed as a open box item meaning he sold me a used computer that he put a remote desk top app on to invade my privacy!
Someone please help. I suffer from anxiety & panic attacks. This is humiliating. Look at the receipts & the evidence I pulled up, I even have screenshots of talking to the district manager claiming, "Oh please. Let us take care of you, did you go to the store on South 27th & pick out another laptop!" Yeah but why is my personal information all through Wisconsin Office Depot! Look at the pictures.

We needed black toner, I found the best price with next day delivery at OfficeMax and ordered it. The next day it wasn't delivered, I checked the tracking and they "shipped" it the next day, which was going to be ok. I checked tracking again and it said it was in transit to us, that day ended and no toner. I checked tracking again and it said "delayed" and didn't make it to us for 4 more days. The excuse was that the truck broke down, I know they need to make a profit but they are shipping products via "independent" FedEx delivery drivers and not actually FedEx. It's a shame that since getting bought out by Office Depot, customer service has gone down the tube. Will no longer be buying products from them.

We ordered an entire furniture set on February 27th, when the delivery came a few days later - 1 piece was missing - and 1 piece was incorrect. Since then, and for the past almost 3 weeks we have made call after call to Office Depot. We were told it was shipped, yet never received phone calls. They put it on the freight delivery company, so I made constant calls to them and they never received our order. Finally Office Depot admitted they lost our furniture and would refund us the amount of the 2 pieces and reorder the items. We were charged again for those 2 items and only offered a $20 credit as consolation. We have called every day - this company has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Our office build out is on hold and I can't get my agents set into their offices with these things happening. Will never order from them again.

I placed an order online on Feb, 27, 2019 for a box of cookies that were to be an 85 ct box, a box of Keebler cookies that were an 8 count box and added 4 clearance packets of Puff pockets tissues to make the order free shipping. I received an order confirmation of the order as all was in stock almost immediately after I placed the order. The order was split into 2 separate order with 2 different order numbers. One for the big 85 count box of Cookies and One for the Keebler 8 ct and the Puff tissues. The cost of the 85 count cookies were $34.99 which was reduced to $27.99 via a code I had added being a first time customer. The Keebler cookies on sale were 7.90 the tissues .39 ea. I received an email confirmation of shipment and my credit card was charged for all the items in both orders.
Within a few days I did receive the supposedly 85 count box of cookies but they were not 85 packets of cookies in the box. There were only 75 and they were squished into the box. I opened a pack and most of the cookies were crumbs. These were not what I had expected to receive, I called Office Depot and spoke to an agent whom I could not understand but he did give me a reference number and stated someone would contact me asap. No one did. I sent an email and called again, I was told that I would have to wait until they contacted their dealer/seller as the product was from a third party "seller". I said If I'd known I was buying from a SELLER I would have ordered for eBay! I had never heard of such a thing - Office Depot could not do anything before they spoke to the seller of the Cookies?? This makes no sense.
Now I am waiting for my other cookies still and I get a phone call that they are not available and won't be shipped. How can that be when I have already received a shipping confirmation on that order and a tracking number - I checked the tracking number and it was for the cookies I already received! The other tracking number for the cookies I did receive showed it was never shipped. Office Depot charged my credit card for both orders and both were not shipped and how could they have stated they were shipped when they were out of stock/unavailable as they told me on the phone. I went back and forth too many times to keep track and all I wanted was my money credited back for items that I didn't receive and to return the defective cookies asking for a prepaid label.
It became so discouraging it literally began to make me sick. I go to church if I feel up to it but that's it other than doctors. I do all online shopping even to my groceries. This is the first time I have ever been so infuriated with a company as I am Office Depot as they do not stand by the products they sell and they have the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
Office Depot has no clue as to what they are doing, they had tracking numbers mixed up and I was charged for orders that were not shipped. I finally did see a credit on my credit card for the cost amount of $27.99 and I had spoke to an agent that asked if I wanted to order the Keebler cookies and I said, "NO, they are not available anyway," and she said she did not know why I was told that because they were available and so were the Puff tissues. If I still wanted them she would order them for me at the cost of only $4.00 for the cookies and .13 for the tissues and she would also credit my account right at that time for the original cost that was charged. I said I would do it, I'm a fool, or blame it on the TBI and other multiple health issues or the point that I trusted this girl.
I don't know if I received the original order Keebler cookies or the ones she said she ordered but I was charged the full amount, not what she had told me and I had the email she sent confirming the amount. I don't care anymore, Office Depot did credit my credit card for the $27.99 and took off the amount of the cookies only to add it back on twice. I can live with it but this whole ordeal has made me physically ill and I don't want anymore to do with Office Depot. They have called my home and I'm not able to get to the phone at times. They called today March 9, 2019 and I don't want anymore to do with them. I told the last person not to call me anymore. If they need to contact me do it via email.
They are scammers, sell products they don't have available but charge you for them and say they have shipped. I just want to make other consumers aware of Office Depot so they will never have to go through what I did. Do not order from this company, they have "Sellers" and can't made decisions without the seller's consent. That is ridiculous! I have started a BAN on Office Depot and it is already went from NY to VA. Most of the stores have shut down, wonder why? None near me.

Office Depot seems to get worst every year. I have been shopping with them for over 20 years when they were just Office Max, however Office Depot/Office Max is insulting. The customer service representatives lie, misrepresent their service and send shipments that have been confirmed canceled. I placed and order for officer supplies and paper on January 30, 2019 After numerous discrepancies about my applicable rewards points I called customer service. He said, "Place the order and I will apply the points." I submitted the order and customer service disconnected me. I called back immediately after checking my account and it was processing without the rewards. The customer service agent then told me that the rewards would apply to my next order.
I CANCELED THE ORDER. I CANCELED THE ORDER BY PHONE, BY E-MAIL AND THE 800 NUMBER. I received an e-mail to confirm the cancellation as well as a copy of the dialogue on chat canceling the order. I later received an e-mail stating they could not cancel the order. I called the bank and customer service. I was told to refuse the order when it was delivered. ALL OF THIS IS IN WRITING. I told the bank and customer service I was not accept the order and don't deliver it. There were more than a dozen calls and 0 or more e-mail communications about this order. When I arrived back at shop/office on the 5th of February the order was sitting at my door step. I did not touch it. I put a note on it for Office Depot and called the bank again. Customer service said they would pick it up and then the said I needed to call dispatch. What liars.
I received another e-mail advising that the Office Depot truck would pick the order up on the 7th, or the 8th. Then another e-mail that I should call dispatch. I took photographs of the order sitting at my doorstep and advised them to remove their ** from my property. I tried calling the CEO. I went to the Office Depot Store all to no avail. This order has been sitting outside through the rain, a heavy wind storm and the snow. I took another picture of the packages stacked about waist high on the 9th. Same spot. The customer service person or robot 'ROBERT' has contradicted himself so many times it's unreal. My bank has been notified that this order was canceled before it was processed. Customer service refused to cancel it and sent it after repeated demands not to and refuse to pick it up.
In a couple of days it will be garbage and I will request that the Department of Sanitation remove it with the other debris. Office Depot has made every possible attempt to force me to purchase their products while they fail to honor their on-line sales and rewards. False advertising, Fraud. Yes Fraud... the site asked me to purchase additional merchandise for a discount and customer service responded by saying I get the discount on the next order. I was only trying to place an order for a case of paper and was bull pooped into almost $200.00 in merchandise. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER PATRONIZE OFFICE DEPOT AGAIN!!!

They charged our credit card for over $300.00, and put us in a bind. We needed that to pay bills this week. The customer service said that the refund will take 7-10 business days!!! They must’ve kept our credit card information from the purchase at one of their brick and mortar stores when we bought toner a couple of months ago. During the chat, I realized that whomever Office Depot has doing their customer support, is not in the USA. Poor English - wrong verbs and grammar. This just made up our mind, that we will no longer do any business with Office Depot.

I purchased one HP laptop at the end of Nov., 2018. Office Depot sent two laptop in separate shipments by mistake and charged my PayPal account twice. I never opened the second package. Since I was overwhelmed during holiday season, I approached their store in Rosemead, CA, to resolve this issue on Jan. 13, 2019. They told me since the item was ordered online, I needed to return it directly to the HQ. They did not inform me that extended return period for holiday purchase would end on 1/14/2019. I made contact with their customer services to address this issue a couple days later. After arguing with them in regards to the nature of this incident, they finally issued a return authorization. Since there was not further notice of return status, I made contact with their customer services again. They informed me that return had been denied by their vendor since this was special order item and was out of their return period.
I thought it was very unfair for me as a consumer. First, I did not order the second laptop. It was Office Depot's mistake to send an extra to me and charged me for it. Therefore, returning the item and getting a refund should be considered as a remedy to their mistake and should not be under the restriction of their or their vendor's return policy. Secondly, they did not indicated the HP laptop as a special order item on their ad. If they disclosed it, I would have second thought for purchasing this item. Thirdly, why a customer need to be punished for Office Depot's own mistake. I most likely will never purchase anything from this company any more and encourage other consumers to give a second thought before you hand your hard earned money to their hand. Very disappointed at your service, Office Depot.

OFFICE DEPOT - I also want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN and not be DISCRIMINATED. My name is Rowland ** and I am a PERMANENT RESIDENT and the owner of a Security Systems company in this great country of the USA. I have so much to thank for welcoming me as a son. Just today I try to apply for the credit card at the OFFICE DEPOT store located at 7240 SW 88th St Miami, Florida between 6 pm to 8 p.m. with the interest of buying an equipment that only and exclusively was in this place, for its characteristics and taking advantage of the geographical location very close to my house.
I am directed to **, sales consultant and great person, to make the application, then which requests additional data, making from the store the call to the number of new personal accounts **, and talking to a FIRST REPRESENTATIVE confirms the approval of a credit of $1000.00 and assures me that I could make the purchase at the time, presenting only my identification card, then I refer to the aforementioned sales consultant, to proceed with the payment of the equipment. When he enters the data on his computer, none of these appear, so the FIRST MALTREAT AND A LIE is evidenced. I make a second call, this time the SECOND REPRESENTATIVE tells me that I must wait for 7 to 10 days and upon receiving the card I could then make the purchase.
Why if my application was made from the store and my credit was approved and they are also confirming it, I can not make the purchase? Why are other people allowed to make the purchase immediately after their credit was approved? This is a clear example of DISCRIMINATION. There is no store in this country where you apply for a credit and being approved you have to wait 7 to 10 days to execute a purchase. I request to speak with a manager of the National Customer Service, his name **, from whom he expects a positive, logical response and his words were: "IF YOU WANT CANCEL THE CREDIT REQUEST" (Verify in the recordings the veracity of my words). An unethical response, against all commercial marketing and management policy.
DO I HAVE TO WAIT TO BE AN AMERICAN CITIZEN SO THAT MY RIGHTS ARE RESPECTED AS A CLIENT? My thanks to Mr. **, the only worker of this company who made me feel like a customer, unlike the other aforementioned lacking in professionalism, knowledge, updating and that make OFFICE DEPOT look like a company full of mediocrity, lack of vision, incompetent, incoherent, anti-commercial and I hope that some of its managers will change my opinion, with a convincing answer.

I call billing and get the most useless rep I've ever dealt with. It felt like she was reading a paragraph from a manual again and again no matter what question I asked. They said to call my bank and confirm it's not an issue with them, it wasn't.
I tried emailing tech support and they started me all over even though I explained the steps we already took. The back & forth with them was infuriating and actively wasted my time. The problem was never resolved, and they obviously don't care, or don't have the infrastructure to handle it whenever something goes wrong. If they did, at least one out of the many Office Depot employees I worked with would have found some person in that company who knows what they're talking about.

I told her before using service I need pricing info. She said, "Will be back in couple of minutes," and made me to wait till 9 pm. After finish up with other customer she came to me and told that not able to do the print today. All my required conversation took 2 min max. After me no other customer. Then I started to tell her that, "Just to inform this you made me to wait for 15minutes." Until that time she was normal. After she hear what I said she raised her voice and cut me in and telling that, "This is how we do it."
At that time other lady closing the store and joined the conversation and asked what happened. After listened, she also started shouting at me and worsely started racist comments like any country service is like this only. I felt like by see my color she passed comments like this. Her facial gestures turned to angry at me. While doing conversation she rushed me to door and laugh at me sarcastically. I never felt fear before like this today with these two ladies at OfficeMax today. Also they shout at me for stopping by at late hours. Today OfficeMax loses the customer. By look at the customer service I can understand how the OfficeMax is doing business.
I understand their frustration at closing time. I am not sure about my work how long will take and their rush hours. I just want to stop by and check whether my job can be done now or not. I am just trying to tell them to use little common sense while handling waiting customers. Take a couple of minutes, break from long job customers and address the waiting customers and tell them their waiting time. Customers will decide to wait or not.

Went into store for computer problem. Help desk was very knowledgeable and took care of it. Recommended the tech support program, so I signed up for auto pay. Requested online assistance in Jan, programmer kept moving things around and putting things in recycle bin. Problem not solved and recycle bin was not emptied. Requested assistance again today, no resolution again. Requested cancel and was in one year subscription with early cancellation fee. First month only can cancel without fee. TOTAL WASTE!!!!
Hi Jackie,

Well they still took the money out of my account and I am now told it will be 7-10 days until I get a refund. That will be a total of almost two weeks that it took to refund my money. This is completely unacceptable.

On Jan 3rd, I ordered an AKRacing Master Series Max gaming chair in Indigo color. The chair was on sale on the website for $349 plus an additional 20% off coupon made my total $299 and change. I was sent an email stating delivery would be on Jan 10th. I checked their tracking link on the 6th to verify the delivery date and was pleasantly surprised to find that the date had been updated to Jan 8th, Great! On Jan 8th, the chair failed to arrive, so I called customer service to inquire. I was told that someone would call the next day to inform me of the status and updated delivery date. However, the next day a woman called and said that Office Depot would not be able to fulfill my order and it would be cancelled.
All the while, the same item was on their website, now off sale at $499, as available and in stock ready for shipment. Makes me wonder if someone realized the price I was paying and said, "We can't let it go for that!" My question is, why did they not say, "We will ship the chair as soon as it is available, but may take extra time." Or, now that it is presumably, according to the website, back in stock; allow me to purchase the chair at the same price I ordered it for originally? Seems like spotty customer service to me with a lack of communication and accuracy between humans and the website. Makes me wonder if orders can be placed with Office Depot websites with any confidence of accurate fulfillment.
Thanks for your feedback, I'm sorry we disappointed you with the delivery of your chair. Our team will be reaching out to you directly, within the next 24-48 hours if not sooner, to help sort this out and make things right.

They obviously use coupons to lure you to the purchase but then do not honor them.
Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry we disappointed you.
Our coupon offers typically aren't able to be used with technology and consumer electronics products due to the fact that those products are already priced in an extremely competitive manner.

I contacted them over the phone and they responded saying, "We will get back to you as soon as we know the arrival of your package." Four days later with no contact from them I call again, they respond the people in charge of my order will contact me tomorrow. On the second of January they email me saying that my order is on backorder and they will not have it in stock until the 15th plus 3-5 days of shipping. I called today the 3rd of January and told them how disappointed I was and they offered no way to compensate me but by a measly %15 back from my order. I called customer service again, and again was assured 100% guaranteed that they would deliver on the 21st. Never happened. On the 22nd, I cancelled my order and asked for my refund. I was told I had to bring the desk (that I never received) to a store. After many phone calls and hours of holding, I finally got them to understand that I never received the desk. Now, it’s into January, and I still have not had my $368 refunded. Office Depot is the most poorly run operation that I’ve ever had the misfortune of doing business with. I then called to ask when they were going to re-ship it then and she said she would put the request in and I would get a call within 24 hours. Never got the verification email that she re-ordered it again and was never contacted. A week later I emailed asking about it and told them if I was not going to get the package I wanted a refund. Called them tonight they said they could only give me a refund if I returned the package THAT I NEVER GOT. I called and explained it to them. If I were to rate on product and delivery, I wouldn't give one star. However, contacting the seller was extremely frustrating. This item was not taxed in my state. Amazon contacted the seller on my behalf, twice. I contacted the seller, numerous times; I lost count. The response, a good five times was, "we need your tax-exempt number." My response was that the item was not taxable in my state. The response back to me, several times was, "we need your tax-exempt number." Obviously, the various people that did respond did not understand English, and they did not research the fact that the coffee creamer was not taxable in my state. I consider this lousy customer service, and I won't buy from this seller again.
I don't have time to waste. Had they said that they found out the item was in fact taxable in my state, I would have thought they might have understood English and did some research, erroneous as it might have been. However, obviously, there is a script they follow without any thought. Office Depot, you need to hire people who understand English and can actually operate without a script. If they don't know how to operate, they should at least send the message to a supervisor. Your service is abominable. I have given you every chance before I sent my negative feedback, but obviously, you do not care about your customers. Oh, and by the way, I have never given any business one star before. You are the first.

I will NEVER use Office Depot again. I placed an order for about $200.00 of office supplies on Thursday 12/13. Was pleasantly surprised that it could be delivered next day delivery for free. Got an email saying it would be delivered Monday 12/17. Fine. Monday morning received an email that it was delivered at 9 am. Problem is, it was never delivered. It was dozens of items in 5 different cartons supposedly. But no one in the office had seen it or the delivery driver. Thought maybe driver had lied about delivery and it would come the next day.
When we hadn't received it by Tuesday 12/18, I logged into account online and tried chatting with a rep. When I explained my problem, the first rep passed me on to another person. She seemed very nice. Said she would forward a request to the support team to check with carrier and would reply to me within 24 hours. LIES. Gave me a reference number but no one ever followed up by email or phone call.
On Thursday, 12/20 I started another chat with another rep. Explained again the situation and they couldn't say if they ever reached out to driver or not. Refused to answer me when I questioned her about that. Only could tell me that my original order had been canceled and that a reorder was pending. I asked her why, I had not authorized that. And why had I not been notified. That's their process apparently. Couldn't give me an answer. Then I find out that the reorder is going to cost me about 20% more than original order.
When I protested she said she could try to help me. Supposedly she had 'technical issues' and it took about 30 minutes for her to reply and say she had adjusted price and that she would need a phone number for a rep to call me for credit card info to place the order. When I didn't reply within 30 seconds, after her being idle for almost 30 minutes she disconnected the chat and closed the window.
I immediately tried to open a new chat, with a different rep again, explain the whole long story of what had happened. Took her a few minutes to look into it and tell me the reorder is pending payment now. And that it actually was still for slightly more than the original. Not wanting to waste another half an hour trying to adjust the price again. I told her the price was close enough, I just needed to pay with credit card to get order processed. Was told I would have to pay through customer service department. That they would call me to process payment. I gave her my phone number and was told a callback was scheduled for within the hour. Also asked if she could provide a delivery date and was told Friday 12/21, but that might be adjusted upon payment. LIES.
I waited for over 2 hours, never received the callback. Finally was frustrated and called them. The customer service agent that answered was barely intelligible and could not understand me when I told him my name. I had to shout it 5 times before he understood me. Told him I wanted to provide credit card information to process a pending order, since it wasn't possible to do this online (why you can't do this online also baffles me). Got that taken care of and he says ok, order will be delivered Wednesday 12/26!! When I asked why he told me I had missed the 5 pm cutoff for next day delivery and that both Monday 12/24 and Tuesday 12/25 there are no deliveries because of Holiday. I told him that wasn't my fault, that this all was a screw up on their end and that their reps never called back when they promised that they would. All he kept repeating was it will be delivered 12/26. Or that he could delay shipment for even longer!
The whole idea was to have these item before the Holiday and not run into this problem with delivery. I could have gone to the store and purchased these items in half the time it's now taken to deal with multiple lying reps that just say, "I'm sorry, let me look into it", but then never give you an answer or actually take care of anything. I can almost guarantee, by reading the many other reviews that say the same thing, that I will have problems getting the original refunded to my card!

I bought this monitor from Office Depot for a Black Friday sale online last Nov 22nd. I received an email on Nov 27th that my order was shipped Nov 25th and gave me UPS tracking info. I checked almost every day to track it and the UPS website shows "Order is on its way..." but if you look closely only the label was created. - Lie # 1 I really believe the Item was never shipped at all. All instances I mentioned below were just a succeeding bunch of lies because in the first place, no monitor was shipped.
2 weeks later (I really think this is enough time to follow up), Dec 8, I sent a text message to Office Depot for follow up as I have not receive the monitor. The rep responded apologizing that they will take care of it. Gave me a request number and that someone will call me back to find out and will give me the delivery date. The following day I got a voice message where the rep told me my order will be delivered Dec 13. - Lie #2 The monitor never arrived as promised. Dec 11 - received an email from Office Depot asking me for a review on the product. "What do you think about the Dell monitor?" Are you serious? So I still wrote a review stating I cannot review a product I never received and that they need to resolve this issue.
Dec 15 - I texted Office Depot again. Enough time again to know that my order is still not delivered. The rep again apologizes and told me it was taken cared of and that someone will call me back with an answer. Gave me a request number. The following day, a rep left a voice message apologizing. The reason it was not delivered is due to a snowstorm and that it will be delivered soon. Lie #3 Really? Again the tracking number in UPS still shows "Order is on its way..."
Dec 16 - received an email stating my review was rejected because it is not within their guidelines. Duh! It is just one way of reaching out to emphasize they did not deliver the monitor. Dec 18 - I received a voice message apologizing that my order was lost in transit. They placed another order on my behalf but I have to call to confirm. An email was also sent for the details. So I actually received 2 emails. 1st email stated they successfully refunded me per my request. Lie #4. I never requested any refund. They did it without my consent. 2nd email stated they placed another order with the same specification and amount but cannot complete the order until payment is made. What??? Seriously?
Dec. 19 - I finally called Office Depot twice. 1st call - The choices from the automated message are "I want to place an order" or "I want to track my order". I chose the latter. Okay so I asked the rep about the email and verified if I need to pay again with the 2nd order. The rep confirmed that I will have to make a payment with a credit card so the order can be placed. I said I would but I need to understand what happened. It is not my fault that the item was lost in transit and I did not request for a refund. The rep said there is a process and that they did the best they could. They cannot process a payment with a PayPal account. The rep suggested for me to call PayPal to check for the refund.
I said I will not make any more payment without getting the refund. Before I hang up I wanted to make sure as soon as I contacted PayPal and if ever I will make another payment that this time Office Depot will be able to deliver the monitor. I pointed out that the reason for the reorder is that there was a back order. I also wanted to make sure that it will be delivered ASAP. The rep checked and told me that there are 45 items in the warehouse so this time it will be delivered. She cannot give me an exact shipment date until payment is received. I insisted so she said that it will actually be delivered the following day based on the information if the order was placed on the 18th. Lie #5 Read the 2nd call why.
2nd call - So before I called again, I called PayPal first as suggested. I found out that there was no refund credited at all. I filed a dispute for a refund anyway. Note that Paypal states that it will take at least 20 days for the refund to process. I called back Office Depot furious telling the rep the refund is not there. The rep apologized if the previous rep was not clear but it will take 2 to 3 business days for the refund to reflect in the PayPal's account. I said I don't know if I will still believe it anymore because PayPal said 20 days. I posed a question again. Is it correct that I will need to pay Office Depot again when I'm not really sure if the refund will even come? I will not be paying anymore until I receive a refund. She said that's fine and that I can call back after 2 to 3 days. It will take time to place an order anyway because it will be ordered at a 3rd party vendor - directly from the manufacturer. They cannot guarantee when it will be shipped.
I said "wait a minute, the previous rep just told me you have 45 items in your warehouse and that it can be delivered the following day if I pay now?" She said it is not true. Apologized again that the rep misinformed me and that there is 0 stock in the warehouse even if I checked from other stores they have 0 inventory. The shipment will come directly from the manufacturer.
What a bunch of lies. I hang up the phone. I rechecked the tracking number that was given to me on the email. Again all those information are true. Why can't they tell me the first time that it is until now in backorder? Shipment never left their warehouse yet instead of giving me a bunch of lies and ended up as lost in transit! I am not going to buy from Office Depot ever again! Shipment Confirmation # **.

I have spent countless hours to call their customer service but each time, I am told someone will call me in about 2-4 hours to arrange a pickup. That has never happened. I went to the store on the 2nd day and was shocked to know that my order was canceled. I never received any communication regarding the cancellation. Not surprisingly, when we started unpacking we noticed the corner of the desktop was smashed up. While my wife was on the phone with customer service, I continued unpacking, assuming we could just replace the desktop. The further I got the more damaged pieces I found. They said it would take about 2 weeks to get the replacement pieces, and as I’d taken the day off specifically to get the desk/office together, we decided to just return it and go buy a new desk.
All of this, we understood happens, and didn’t have an issue with. They told me that I didn’t have to rebox it (which I would’ve needed an engineering degree to fit the thousands of pieces back into these boxes) but they wouldn’t take it back up or downstairs. So I reboxed it as best as possible and brought it out to my garage, as they said it would be picked up in a day or two. We, call, email and text, and cannot get anyone to pick this thing back up. They say someone will show up, we make sure someone’s home, and no one comes. We call customer service, and they say they will have a supervisor call us back. They never do. This has been going on for 3+ months, and I just received a $1400 bill that included late fees. Again, call, a promise for a callback, and no word. This is the first time I’ve ever posted a bad review, I'm just hoping this finally grabs their attention and makes them handle it.

Updated on 11/29/2018: Since the follow-up comments are evidently not made public, and resolution is absolutely NOT in progress, the following is in addition to my original complaint for Office Depot’s false advertising. The original complaint was filed on 11/19: Your previous correspondence has been nothing but numerous different ways of rewording the same thing you have said here, so they absolutely do not provide any ‘further clarification’ other than to show that Office Depot either employs a lot of dumb people or else corporate has instructed everyone to lie. The offer wasn’t simply ‘double back’, it was double back IN REWARDS, which is very different.
Even if you ignore the fact that the wording of the promotion was changed, by the company, AFTER I made my purchase, no one has explained how “double back in rewards” and “double rewards (4% back)” are supposed to mean the same thing, or why if they did mean the same thing there would be a need for the two to be written so differently. Especially considering the fact that every other deal over the past year that has stated “X amount back in rewards” (10% back in rewards, 20% back in rewards, 50% back in rewards, 75% back in rewards, 100% back in rewards) the amount BACK IN REWARDS is the amount of the purchase price (10% of the PURCHASE PRICE, 20% of the PURCHASE PRICE, 50% of the PURCHASE PRICE, 75% of the PURCHASE PRICE, 100% of the PURCHASE PRICE) back in rewards.
At the same time, I’ve also seen lots of deals where the rewards amount is multiplied instead of the purchase price, but those ALWAYS specify the percentage of the purchase price as well - for example, double rewards (4% back), triple rewards (6% back) 5X rewards (10% back) etc. Based on the wording of the promotion, and the wording of every single previous deal over the past year, any reasonable consumer would understand double BACK IN REWARDS to mean double (200% of) the purchase price back in rewards. Also, one of your reps stated that since no one else has complained it is not an issue - however that rep also lied and stated that I had received a gift card from the company as compensation so they obviously aren’t the most trustworthy to begin with, but just because (supposedly) no one else noticed you ripped them off does not make it okay or mean that it did not happen.
If you were so sure that you did not rip off your customers you wouldn’t have such an issue allowing your customers to post uncensored reviews on your page. So any customer reading this who bought any type of writing item during 9/30-10/13 should file a complaint with their Attorney General’s office and the Florida BBB, and let a class action attorney make that decision whether I’m “misunderstanding” or whether the promotion was in fact changed, as is evidenced by the before and after screen shots.
Original Review: Office Depot advertised a promotion for double back in rewards on all writing from 9/30-10/13. On 10/6 I purchased some writing items, but I only received 4% back instead of double (200%) back. The rep informed me that the deal was actually double rewards (4% back) instead of double back in rewards, even though my screenshot of the deal says differently. Office Depot changed the wording of the deal after the fact and then refused to honor the deal as it was written at the time of purchase.
It is very poor customer service to refuse to honor an advertised promotion, but changing the promotion in an effort to confuse customers and get out of honoring it is deceptive and shady. Customer service has been terrible and after arguing back and forth for several weeks the rep finally told me I can return the items if I have an issue with it or else hire a lawyer to pursue the false advertising. When a company would rather get lawyers involved than honor their own promotion that says a lot about the company. But at your own risk and be sure to screenshot every step of the way.
Hi Christina,
Thank you for your feedback. The particular offer you mentioned was "double back" meaning that you would earn 4% back in rewards on the select products rather than the usual 2% back. We have previously sent you private correspondence, please refer to those emails for further clarification about this matter.
Sincerely,
Casey AOffice Depot, Inc.

What has happened to Office Depot? They used to be THE place to shop. Now when I go there it's like a ghost town. Even though there are NEVER more than one or two customers there (me included), NONE of their employees EVER ask if they can help. They can see you wandering the aisles or trying to find something on the shelves and they say NOTHING. They just glide serenely past as if they don't even see you. I've complained about this several times and one of Office Depot's managers wrote that this was because the store was doing inventory and everyone was busy. If this were true it would mean they are doing inventory every time I walk in. As usual, employees are always wandering about doing NOTHING. And even if they were doing inventory, whatever happened to saying hello and asking the customer if she needs help?
I do a LOT of printing (or at least I try to) at Office Depot because I'm a writer and I have to print out my book drafts. My books have hundreds of pages so I send my order via email and then follow up with a phone call to see when the order will be ready. My pages are NEVER printed on time. No matter how many hours or days ahead I order my prints, they're NEVER ready when I get there. There's always only one or two customers ahead of me, and there's always a store full of employees, but I still have to stand in line nearly 20 minutes to get my copies.
Today I just found out that all my reward points have disappeared and I'm back to 0 but no one can tell me why. I tried to chat with an Office Depot rep, but he or she COULD NOT understand me and COULD NOT construct a sentence in correct English. After I said I was going to complain, he or she told me I MAY have $0.31 cents in rewards.
I'm very sad about Office Depot. Over the years I have spent BIG money buying computers, printers, iPads, two Roku streamers, paper, ink... You name it. But as of today I have decided that this poor store is no longer worth the frustration of trying to shop in it or get help. I don't know if Office Depot has stopped caring or if they are simply circling the drain as they die a slow and agonizing death. PS - THEIR WEBSITE "SUBMIT" BUTTON DOESN'T WORK!!! I was trying to file a complaint on their website but I guess that's out. I don't think they really want to know what customers have to say.

When we noticed this as we were putting the desk together, we checked in on the third box and contacted customer service asking what was going on. So we were told and “promised” the last box would arrive that following Tuesday. WRONG! The freaking box was dropped off somewhere in CONNECTICUT! I live states away from Connecticut! Office Depot has a great selection. Their prices may not be the best but I have never had an issue in one of their stores. Their website/emails however are terrible. I ordered some supplies for my job and now I get 10 emails a week. I went to unsubscribe from emails and Office Depot is intentional on making it difficult to do this. Every email from a retail company I know of has an unsubscribe button or link at the bottom of an email. Office Depot hides their link deep in a long paragraph which is labeled "subscribe to more email content for deals". They clearly don't want you to unsubscribe to their emails so they make it appear as if their link is for you to sign up for MORE emails.
They do have a separate link that is surrounded by no text by itself that says manage preferences alluding to no other information as to what preferences. Upon clicking it takes me to an account information update page, not to the notification update page. They didn't even have tab that says update email preferences just a link to subscribe for MORE promotions. Upon clicking that subscribe for more link, it gives you the option of unsubscribing to all. As someone who works in marketing, this method is genius, but also infuriating. This method of subscription is geared towards making it inconvenient to unsubscribe to emails. I just don't trust a company that will use this level of trickery to get you to look at their products.

The staff did not acknowledge the customer's entry to store and when we said hi and asked for help with the product return, one employee was reluctant to get started to hear us. Then there was an old man working at the register who was easily over 80 and kept showing me his hand to move for the next person in line. I am not sure if he was not young enough to speak up or just an old grumpy man who was working at his age in a service oriented business. The salesmen said he was going to set it up for me and I told him I would pick it up the following day. It was not ready when they promised and I was given some double talk by an arrogant tech guy about its still downloading and it still will be ready "today". I asked to be called when its was ready and he could not even do that.
After I examined my receipt more closely it turns out my $749 computer was really a $200 with all the "free" software and the set up charged to me making it $749. I find this very deceitful and I really wanted a more quality computer and I could have set it up myself and I would not have paid for the software. The old saying Let the buyer beware is very true. If you do this in too much in a small town you might as well close up shop and leave. This is not a big city. I will never step foot in an office max again. I was taken advantage of and ripped off.

The driver came, attempted to deliver but there was an issue with the alley being blocked at the time of delivery. So the driver marked the order as "refused" and left. Now despite numerous phone calls to Office Depot, and after a promise that they would be delivered today, we are now told the earliest they can deliver them is four days from now. To make matters worse, they refused to give me to a supervisor or anyone with any authority to assist us. So after hours spent on the phone trying to resolve the delivery issue, it looks like we will be cancelling the order and going through a local office furniture place that may be a little more expensive but at least we are guaranteed service.

Received a confirmation from Office Depot that they received my order at 12:44 pm with a delivery of 7:00 pm today. At 3:00, I called the store to ask if it was possible to pick the order up earlier. I was told by the person in the Print Center that no order had been received. I read him my order number from the email and he said that the transaction with PayPal had gotten HUNG and that he had no order. I would have to call the ODepot 800 number to resolve.
After making several calls and NOT being told what the problem was, I contacted the store manager who said I would need to completely resubmit the order with a different form of payment. So I called OD toll free number and they said that would not be possible because the order had already been sent to production. I am not going to bore you with the rest of this story, but when I FINALLY was able to pick up the banner, I was told I would have to PAY for it although it had been paid for through Paypal. AND THE FONT COLOR ON THE BANNER WAS WRONG AND THE STORE MANAGER (Damian) could have cared less about helping me. He wanted me gone and the problem gone. I have NEVER had such a frustrating experience over a $20 order. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. Order # ** Reference # from call center **. What a mess.

First, I want to say upfront that my local Office Depot store was great to work with and did everything they could to help resolve my problem (to no avail). My problem is with the corporate customer service center and ship-to-home “service” for furniture items that they don’t stock in-store. Specifically, I placed two orders totaling over $700 on Saturday, June 16. It was a desk, credenza and hutch. There were two orders because the parts were to ship from two different warehouses. The first order was to arrive on Tuesday, June 19 between 8:30am and 5:30pm – so someone had to be at the house all day/till they arrived. We waited all day – three cars in the driveway, front door open (glass storm door closed).
When 5:50 passed we called the 800-GO-DEPOT customer service line and received three lies: (1) They tried to deliver but no one was home; (2) they had a heavy workload and delivery would be delayed; and (3) they couldn’t deliver because the delivery company only sent one driver and unloading would take two people. They said they would put thru a special priority message to the shipper, would try again Wednesday, and if that didn’t work it would come Thursday with the second order (which was always the scheduled date for the second shipment). They would call us.
Nothing happened Wednesday, so we called again. We were told everything would be delivered Thursday between 8:30 and 5:30, someone had to be home... so we waited again. I called at 12:30 in the afternoon to check status since we hadn’t heard anything, and was guaranteed that everything was “on the truck and out for delivery”… so we waited. Called again at about 4:30, and was told again to be patient, they might be a little late but it would be delivered. Called again at 6pm – sorry, it would have to be delivered on Friday – same lame two-man excuse. Another urgent priority message to the shippers, another guarantee that it would be delivered Friday, someone had to be here all day/till they arrived.
At this point I called the local store again, they called customer service, same promises. They left a message for the morning manager to check status Friday morning, which they did (customer service confirmed that the manager called). I called again at 4pm Friday – “on the truck & out for delivery”. At 7:30pm I finally gave up, called customer “service” and cancelled the orders… after they tried to say it would be 4+ hours before they could process a cancellation. Bottom line, I strongly advise against ordering anything from Office Depot for home delivery – if you can’t get it at the store, don’t trust them and NEVER trust their corporate customer service people!

I hope they don’t delete my review. I simply had the worst customer service with Office Depot, my first purchase with them and definitely never doing it again. I purchased it during the morning, it said very clear that I could order to pick up and it would be ready in one hour at the store. Fine, 3h after that I drove all the way to the store to find out it was pending (even though they took my money out of my account, of course). I called the customer service later, after complain a lot (and the only thing they could say was “we can’t do anything”), they told me my order would be ready in 1h. Fine, 2h later and NOTHING. They told me it takes 24h to “process” the payment and THEN I would be able to pick it up, even if they advertise 1h for pick up in store (and it was in stock, of course).
Was 7 pm when I gave up and asked for my money back. Funny because they told me it takes 7 days to refund even though they said I wasn’t able to get my item because they didn’t process the payment. So how it takes 7 days to get a refund of a money they claim they don’t have it? I even thought I should just get my money back and buy it at the store, but they only refund 7 days after. I decided to go to the corner to the Best Buy and I bought a better computer for $100 less. I never purchased on Office Depot before of that and will never do it again. Worst experience ever and worst customer service ever.

On Wednesday 06 June I called and spoke to Person #2 (logged) and was issued a Service Request #, and advised I would be contacted within four hours. I was not.
I called again on 06 June, 4 1/2 hours later, and spoke to Person #3 (logged), who advised there was no Service Request # for me. It took ten minutes of wrangling with Person #3 to be allowed to speak to a Supervisor. And when I finally did, the Supervisor (name logged) told me the Technical Department was working on the problem, had labelled it a "Fraudulent Charge" and they would telephone me within one hour. I said I wanted to speak to the person who was working on the problem, and the Supervisor then advised me that this department could not receive outside calls nor make outside calls. Then how were they going to call me within the next hour? The Supervisor said, "Thank you for calling and have a nice day."
My complaints are: 1. Keeping my credit card information on file, against my expressed wishes. 2. Fraudulent Charge as a result of the above. 3. Fraudulent Charge not easily rectified. 4. Continued promises of return calls, emails, contact, not kept. 5. Customer Services reps intent on sticking to a nonsense script that offers no solutions to the problem at hand. All this because I couldn't find a refill for my pen, so ordered a $9 set of two, and paid $10 mailing fee. Office Depot is just another large corporation that is playing it by the numbers, and any one individual customer has little value to the Board of Directors.

I liked the sale they had on brown soft leather or faux leather desk chairs. It has been over 10 years ago, but fortunately they have very durable chairs. It was such a good deal I told my Dad and he decided to get a new office desk chair too. They do not have much of a selection of filing cabinets. I was mainly interested in a casual looking chair. The chair needed to be able to swivel, have wheels on bottom of legs, be the correct color to fit into my decor at home. Primarily I was in the market for a new office chair. Specifically a desk chair that can be adjusted in height. It needed to be washable, not fabric.
The physical stores only have so much showroom floor space & a lot less warehouse storage in back of their stores but if they are having a promotion they should have a larger in house stock at these times. In many of the brick & mortar stores do not have a wide variety of desk chairs or what some furniture stores classify as Presidential style chairs. There were not enough salespersons that had adequate sales experience or knowledge about the chairs in stock. Sometimes it is easier to look on Internet website to find what you want and then order online.
Some of the chairs are very uncomfortable or waiting room chairs were too tall, making it hard on a person's back and legs. Need a better variety and more reasonable prices. Some chairs had high backs which gave nice neck and head support but they were very pricey. Also, the designs or styles were not always adaptable to the needs of the many, only a few. There are short people that need to find the correct size to fit their frame, width, height & their personal taste in style.

From my experience they have the best help and can customize things and talk you thru it and they have so many options you can do the whole room. There were so many choices to see on display. It is a fun store to shop at 'cause there are so many things to look at and get ideas from and they can talk you thru what would go good together. The store is great and a ton of fun to look around at besides what you are there shopping for. This is a great place. They also deliver and set up.

I like their selection of office chairs and the features that those include. The sales associates are helpful and knowledgeable. The layout of the store makes it easy to find what one is looking for. Their sales are substantial. Also, the location was convenient and they had a good sale on office chairs when I needed a new one. The sales circular made everything look appealing and worth it. I liked their prices better than other stores nearby. The furniture store is clean and well-organized. However, it only has office type furniture and no other kinds.

Office Depot has great sales on office furniture. Has wide variety of furniture from low prices to higher end, more expensive items. Has many different types of furniture to choose from with matching accessories. They need more color/style varieties though. More exotic/harder to find office furniture. Also have better tracking of ordered items and better customer service options when help is needed. But they offered better prices on the furniture I was looking for with options that was not available at other furniture stores/retailers. Added extra discount due to a issue with placing order.

Between all nearby stores that could've gotten me my chair, Office Depot is a reliable name that I am familiar with more than others. There isn't as much variety as other stores like IKEA, but it's still useful due to its proximity to my home. It offers a very strict selection and there are much better options on their online store. I like that the chair is flexible and durable. It's particularly fitting for where I placed it in my home; I needed a rotating chair for my work desk to use for extended periods of time. It's a vast upgrade from my regular, wooden chair I used before.

Convince was a huge factor as well since I didn't want to purchase my chair online. The employee was helpful and kind in answering my questions, and I would recommend it. The chair I bought is the perfect size for me, comfortable, at a decent price, in the color I wanted, it's easy to put away when I'm not using it making the chair perfect for my room.

This store was easy to get to and had the furniture that I needed at a price that I could afford. They make the furniture available to you to try and sit on. They also will deliver the furniture to you so you don't have to personally have a truck in order to buy from this store. But I wish they offered furniture that would come in multiple colors and if the furniture could be of a little higher quality. It would also be nice if they offered a few more types of storage furniture and not just the office. Furthermore, it would have been nicer to have a sales associate to help us with what would fit in what space at your office.

They have not helpful salespeople though. I had to really search for people to assist me. Sometimes the sales people were rude and acted like you were wasting their time by asking questions. But it's the closest place to my home and heard good experiences from others. I also found what I needed for a great price. I would definitely return to this store again.
Original Review: May 28, 2018
As of 2 days ago there is a sale for 20% off tech furniture appliances etc. It says so across the Office Depot site in giant letters on a red banner. Office Depot support claims they do not see this banner and are unsure what 20% off sale I am referring to. An hour after the sale was listed several items were flat out removed from the site. Not sold out but completely unavailable until further notice. Now I would suck it up but I can't even get a price match as the website doesn't list a price for "item no longer available". Support via Twitter and other websites results in a response followed by complete confusion on the part of any employee or support specialist and then being completely ignored for hours and days. Entry into most if not all stores prove that there are no in store advertisements for events (luckily the website specifies this applies in ALL stores) and that they just don't sell in store the majority of the items they sell online.
Listed the ad and within an hour they removed so many big ticket tech items. I'm not sure what the sale is for anymore? Nothing tech related can even be purchased on the site now. That's a slight exaggeration but every item over a certain amount of $ is just gone so they don't have to worry about giving me 30 percent off. Every GTX 1080 Ti card just disappeared from the site like it was never sold. Pretty damn sure I will never shop in store or online again and will do anything I can to give my business to anyone else. Drop in the bucket for them but once a business lies to you or gives you the runaround they 100% can't be trusted again. They won't even link to items in store if they've decided to remove it online.
Steven - Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. I'm sorry that you had a difficult time and I will be sure to share your comments with the appropriate leaders within our company.

What I like about it mostly is its thick reinforced materials and overall cool design, chose between several and similar options but this was the one that sit with me. They have a lot of different chairs with variations and sub variations of variations, it's crazy. But maybe they need to include a few extra levels of height and more recline flexibility. Other than that, it's an office style chair, so what better place there is to buy one than Office Depot. Good go-to store for the basics in office, although it doesn't stand out as an innovative environment, it does showcase computers well, and has info on them displayed well. Good selection of cameras, computers, office desks and chairs, and accessories. Reliable selection of specific products, friendly staff on hand if needed, but had to locate them and ask for assistance. Not very interactive as far as design, functionality of displays. The overall experience was satisfactory. We chose Office Depot because of the store location. We did receive a flier in the mail announcing the sale, and settled on a better model chair that was more sturdy. The chair we purchased was a faux leather black swivel desk chair that was reasonably priced and seemed extremely sturdy. The store was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. But a larger selection of office chairs in a variety of colors would be more helpful. Their desks seemed a bit cheap, like that particle board you have to put together. Nonetheless, we got the chair we needed and didn't feel like we overpaid.

I love this piece of furniture because it also can be wiped down if anything is spilled on it and this was a very good purchase for me.
But there is not enough personnel on the floor to help and they should pay more attention to the people who do come in the store to make the purchase. If we take the time to drive to the store to browse or make a purchase there should be someone there to help with that purchase no matter what. It took a while to get an employee over to help and by that time I had already decided that I would purchase the studio anyway even without asking any questions. When you go to a front desk and ask for help that someone should probably come to help that customer or that customer will leave and go somewhere else to purchase the furniture.

On March 10th 2018, I ordered an item online using my Paypal account costing me a little over 200 USD (Order number **). At the time of order they did not mention that I have to be at home to receive the item. The item was supposed to be delivered in 2 days. When it did not arrive, I called the Office Depot customer service and they said that the item could not be delivered because nobody was at home and that they will cancel my order now (return confirmation number **) and will help me make a new order (New order number **) for the same item over the phone. This time the order was done using my credit card because they can't use PayPal over the phone. I was told the refund will take place in 3-5 business days.
On March 15th, I find that the item for my first order (**) has been delivered, although I had the return confirmation email and they said they cancelled the order. On March 16th, they delivered the item for the second order (**). So, now I have 2 of the same items - one of which they said was cancelled. I call them up again, and this time, they tell me - since the first order cancellation did not process successfully (I had not received the refund money on my PayPal), they will cancel my second order made with a credit card (return confirmation number **) and someone will come pick up the item on a weekday and that I should be at home to make sure they find me.
I had to cancel my work one day to stay home waiting for a person to pick up the item. Someone came (much later than the specified time) and took the item. HE DID NOT MAKE ME SIGN ANY DOCUMENT THAT ITEM WAS RECEIVED OR PICKED UP. I guess I should have asked for it. On March 29th, another delivery man from Office Depot comes to my house with a 3rd same item and says "This is what you ordered". I said I already got what I wanted and don't need that one anymore. SO basically 3 items were delivered at my door - I kept 1 and returned 2.
Today is May 18th 2018. I have not received the refund yet on my credit card. In these 2 months I have called the customer service 10-12 times asking about the situation. The first 2 times, someone from the credit department calls me back and says that they are definitely going to refund in 3-5 business days and I would not have to call back again. From then on, I have been waiting, giving them calls and whenever I ask them to transfer my call to their credit department - they say they don't know their number or they do not have any! And worse, every time I call them, they ask me about the problem from the beginning although during the conversation they say they are writing things down in the system so that it can be used for future use.
I received an email from one Durga ** from Office Depot on May 6th after making one of those calls. In the email, she writes "Please be advised that the given credit was cancelled since no item left at your location for pick up. But you stating that you did not receive this order we do apologise for this confusion. The credit was processed for the amount of $-203.59 and we Cleary mentioned the team to do not cancel the credit since you did not have items for return. The confirmation # is **. Kindly call us back #888-463-3768 for further assistance. Thank You."
And like I said, I did not get the refund yet. When I called the customer service again today, I went through the same circle, explaining my problem and then she says they have record that the item got delivered and they have to verify if the customer is lying. I have never seen such inefficient, unproductive customer service in my life! Later on, she sent me another return confirmation email (**) and again saying that I would get my refund within 3-5 business days.
Right now I have so many return confirmation numbers that it is difficult for me to keep track of all of them. To think about it, I have no proof to show that they picked up items from my house twice. And they can now say or do whatever they want. But even if I did, I am not sure how much help it would have done. I bought the item from Office Depot because it was comparatively cheaper than with other vendors. But I urge everyone, please do not buy anything from Office Depot and never expect any good contacting their customer service. Office Depot sucks!

First let me apologize in advance for this long review, but hopefully by the end of it you will understand the necessity for it. Black Friday 2017 I was on a mission to find my 9 yr old daughter the closest thing to an Apple iPad Pro that I could afford as a divorced, DISABLED single mother of 2. After weeks of research I found that Office Depot was having a huge BF sale on their Dell Inspiron 3000 2 IN 1 LAPTOP 11.6" BLUE (my daughter's fave color). This 2 IN 1 was perfect instead of $399.00. It was on sale for $249.00. I had to order it online because none of the stores around me had any in-stock.
1st issue I went in created an acct and placed my order, even though I saw ahead of time the only store with any in-stock was 45 miles away and they only had 2 available, so I had to act quick. I placed my 1st order and waited 15 min and never received a confirmation email. Thinking that because it was BF and the systems were backlogged maybe my order didn't go through, I had to place another order, this was the only place within 100 miles that had this item at this price and it was the only thing my daughter wanted for Xmas. 2. I place my 2nd order and this time within 4 min I received my confirmation email. Now, I just had to figure out how to go pick it up.
I couldn't disappoint my daughter ESP considering 90% of her homework is done online and my laptop is 8 yrs old and doesn't work anymore, I figured her and my son could share it. Since this was probably the last year my daughter would believe in Santa it had to be special. Anyway, the next morning I start making calls to see if I can find someone to pick it up for me. Finally I did, I then had to go back into my acct and add an additional pick-up person. After doing so, I went back to check my email so I could forward it to my ex brother in-law for pickup and I noticed that I had 2 order confirmations... That's right 2, apparently my 1st order did go through but the confirmation email didn't go through until several hours later.
So now I am out $545.00, I called OFFICE MAX because that was the store it had to be picked up from and they said once my brother in law picks up the order he is on, he can then CANCEL the other one and I will be reimbursed 5 to 10 days later?!? Are you kidding me, 1. My brother in-law wasn't going to get to the store for another 3 or 4 days and my only income is SSDI, which barely covers the necessities, so being out an extra $275.00 was unfathomable. Anyway, that part finally worked itself out after several calls to the store.
Now the biggest issue, which I didn't even think about when purchasing the laptop because of the 1. Rush to order due to limited quantity 2. Financial restrictions 3. 1st order not processing. Here it is 3 months later after my daughter RECEIVED it as her Christmas gift from Santa and 4 months after purchase and we have a sewage pipe bust in our house... ruining the entire finished basement. $1500.00 plumbers bill not covered by INS. $4500.00 WATER damage/mitigation bill of which INS only covered $2000.00, $1000.00 deductible, $8000.00 in furniture ruined. INS only gave us $5000.00 $12,000.00 in repairs... Ok, long story short. It took contractor 4 weeks to fix what should have taken 6 days max.
One day my daughter was walking up the stairs from the basement where the contractor had left a drop cloth covering the stairs starting in the garage to the basement doorway from the basement up the stairs which bring you up to the kitchen and family room. So, my daughter had been down in the basement doing her homework because the contractors were working on the carpet in the family room and it was too loud. As she is walking up the stairs with her laptop closed, her foot got caught on the drop cloth and she fell with the laptop in her hands. Even though she held onto this less than 2lb laptop and when she fell her hands hit very thick carpet and pad somehow the entire screen on her laptop is shattered.
My daughter's ankle is fractured and she is crying more because her laptop is ruined. 1. Touchscreen can't be touched without slicing open your finger and you can't even just use the keyboard BC the screen is so shattered you can't see anything. Once I get her to calm down I call her DR make an appt for the next morning. Then a light bulb goes off. OFFICE DEPOT NOT ONCE OFFERED ANY SORT OF EXTENDED WARRANTY. When I placed the order, the 1st or the 2nd one. OFFICE MAX didn't offer one when the laptop was picked up and remember there were 2 orders then and at any point the Manager who had both receipts in his hands should have said, "HEY I NOTICED YOU DIDN'T PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, DID YOU NOT WANT ONE..."
If you go to any other store online and purchase ANYTHING ELECTRONIC OR EVEN A VIDEO GAME, the option to purchase an extended warranty pops up either as soon as you add the item to your cart or when you are checking out. Most places even make you check a box to ensure that you are declining an extended warranty. All extended warranties, would have protected my daughter's laptop and either fixed it or replaced it. Go to Walmart.com, Bestbuy.com, Toys R Us (used to have it before online shopping closed), Brandsmart.com, Staples.com, Target.com. Every other store offers them. But not Office Depot/Office Max. Not online or in person.
But wait... They apparently do have them. You actually have to search online separately for them and add them to your cart as if you are purchasing another product, So, now my daughter no longer has or has had a laptop to do her homework with the past 2 months, Office Depot didn't even care and if I want to BUY HER ANOTHER ONE (which they don't have in-stock) but if they did it would be $399.00 or $599.00. Oh plus an extra $75.00 for the WARRANTY I have to search for and add to my cart. Also, the blue one she loved so much is now red.
My daughter's birthday is June 7th. Do I spend $400+ I don't have on another laptop and have that be her only GIFT again 2 holidays in a row? Or is someone from OFFICE DEPOT/MAX going to step up and do the right thing and make things right for my daughter? Actually not just my daughter but my son as well considering he has to use a computer for homework as well and he is going into 6th Grade in the fall. I mean, I don't even have a working laptop or PC. I have a phone that's 5 yrs old but my kids can't do their homework assignments on my phone. I just can't believe that an extended warranty was and is not offered automatically.
If I wasn't in such a rush to make sure that I was able to secure 1 of the last 2 affordable 2 IN 1 laptops within 100 miles I probably would have noticed that there was not a WARRANTY OFFERED and inquired because, with 2 kids and not enough income to barely make ends meet I know just how handy those warranties can be. I just hope that someone who reads this will at least benefit from it and not make the same mistake I did. Oh, and trust me when I say I have gone back to Officedepot.com multiple times and went through the process of adding different items to my cart just to see if the option would pop up and it NEVER DOES.
As for the managers of OD and OM Their customer service skills are horrible, out of the 7 different stores I called not one could give me a reason as to why I was not offered a WARRANTY through the multiple opportunities that were given. Not one of them had any sympathy or even tried to help me resolve my issue. BASICALLY THEY JUST DIDN'T GIVE A CRAP. Although, one person told me She always asks customers if they want to add an extended warranty when checking out... not much help to me.

I purchased a laptop from Office Depot online along with whiteboard markers. The whiteboard markers arrived on time. However, the laptop never arrived during the 5-7 day delivery period. I tried to follow-up and I got both good and terrible customer service. I became frustrated with their inability to tell me what happened to the item so I asked to cancel via email with my correspondent. I received no response so I called in the cancellation the next day. Two days after requesting a cancellation they got the item shipped and then an apology in the evening telling me it's already shipped and I should reject the package in order to receive a refund. With such terrible service I'm afraid to return the item because they might charge me for shipping. On the other hand, if I take it and need help during the warranty period I'm afraid (based on this experience) of the service that I might receive. I just want this to end without me having to contact the company again.

I was double-charged by Office Depot for an in-store purchase at the end of January. This began what has now become an on-going saga to regain money taken from me by Office Depot. I first called the customer service number. She told me that since it was an in-store purchase, I had to contact the store. So I visited the store only to find out that the store manager only has access to the previous 30-days activity and was told to call customer service. In my third attempt to find someone to take responsibility, I was told that I would have to dispute the charge through my bank.
The next day I went online to chat with Office Depot's customer service. I was connected to Jeremy ** who eventually told me that "our team will investigate this and let you know the details through your e-mail". I asked how his team could investigate this when I had yet to provide any of my information. He said someone would contact me so I left the chat. I never received any case reference number and decided to chat again in hopes of getting such a number for future reference. I did not get connected to back to Jeremy, but Clephane read the transcript from my previous chat and stated that in fact there was NO reference number because no action had occurred. NO "TEAM" WAS NOTIFIED.
I directly asked if when Jeremy stated he had submitted the work order, he, in reality, did nothing, and was told YES. He told me my case was being investigated to simply move on to the next customer. After this 54 minute chat, I was finally given a 1-800 number who I was told could locate my receipt and provide my refund. I called, was given a reference number and told that this would be resolved within 24 hours. 48 hours later, I called again. They could not locate my reference number!!! The person started a second investigation and I was given another reference number. Now I have to wait another 24 hours!!!
In summary, I have spent countless hours, called customer service 3 times, chatted 2 times, and visited my local store once to try to get to the bottom of a double-charge and am no further today than I was the day I realized this happened. Office Depot's customer service appears to be contracted labor and there does not appear to be any protocol for management, training, or quality control. I gave 1 star because 0 wasn't an option.
Michael - Thanks for reaching out. I have asked our team to reach out to you directly to get more details and find out what went wrong. I'm sorry that the collective response from our company was underwhelming and I want to assure you that we'll get this made right.

One of the items was a reclining chair so I can sit on the computer and not feel in pain. It's been bothering me lately wanted a fix for the problem. I saw some chairs in the vestibule, so decided to investigate. Office Depot was cheaper, closer and I just wanted a couple chairs. But there's really aisles full over useless stuff, furniture always sells should show more of it than in 1 spot. I mean do you really need 30 different kinds of printers? But only 3 kinds of chairs... Experience was fine, but employees were useless pretty much but the prices and products were clear so you don't need them.

My experience started off by a nice welcome by a nice person. I had a nice day and walked off the store with my desired item I wanted to purchase. It was very easy. I really liked the people and the environment that resides there. I love my chair, it is very very comfy and creates a real atmosphere in my household. Everyone I talk to about always has something positive to say. I myself love it as well. I would happily go there again and spend my own money.

My experience with Office Depot was great. I enjoyed being able to see the furniture. Touching it and seeing the size of it. Also, being able to get a better idea on how it will fit my space. I like how there is a storefront so that I can get a feel and look of the furniture that I am planning to buy. I also prefer to buy furniture at the store for this reason. But one thing I would consider bad about this is making the time to drive to the store and shop around.

It was the desk I had searched for a long time and finally found at Office Depot. it was the exact color and the exact size UCI was needing for the space in the home office. It was fairly simple to put together once we purchase it and brought it home. I wish it would have been easier to put together and the instructions were easy to read. Between me and my husband we finally got it put together within an hour.

Clerks looked agitated with each other. I'll never understand how a business can spend millions of dollars to advertise and bring customers to the store only to treat them poorly and rip them off once they get there. You have just lost a customer for life. Clerk did not provide me with a receipt.

The Office Depot that I had visited had been really well organized, and was easiest to navigate while looking for what I want. It also had really good prices for high-quality items. However, the employees had been indifferent, not as warm and welcoming as I would've preferred. The general feel of the place was cold, I say this knowing it's just a hardware store, but it just felt empty. Even with the employees, it had been a good experience. I chose here because the location had the best accessibility and was easiest for me to get to and from.

Lots of desks and chairs to chose from and a great selection for my other home office needs. I loved it. I am still using the same chair and desk I got today. I will certainly go back when I decide it is time for an upgrade. I get that office furniture isn't what they sell the most of but the one I went to had all the furniture at the back of the store. But other than that it was well lit and displayed nice. I just feel it was kind of poor placement. And there could be a better area for pick up.

Office Depot had the best prices for office furniture. They have fantastic customer service. The employees are friendly and willing to help without the sales/commission pressure that other stores have. When I wanted a different color than what was in the store, their employee helped me find it from a product catalog and ordered it with no extra cost to me. But I would like to see more furniture displays and to see products put together rather than just look at the description on the box. I'm not very good at estimating the measurements on my own.

I need to buy a specific type of furniture but I had no real picture of what I wanted in my mind. I thought about where I should go to buy this furniture and Office Depot never came to mind until after doing a web search for desks and chairs. Of course it made perfect sense to buy office furniture from an office specialty store. But I was able to shop here and get ideas and then buy something within my budget. I always believe that there is room for improvement such as even more styles, more brands, more finishes, and generally a store can never have a large enough selection.

I just needed an inexpensive desk and, since Office Depot had a holiday sale, I went there to purchase one. It had a nice height and width that fit the room I wanted to put it in. The store is within a 10 mile driving distance so I would not have to travel too far with the item. No sales associates were even around to help though. Overall, it's more of an office store, than a furniture store so there is much to be improved as far as it being a furniture store. However, the furniture they have is decent. It all must be assembled at home, which probably is the reason the cost is less.

The price point is low and it has other items that I can purchase at the same time. It was great for my first apartment on a college graduate's low budget. However, I would like to see better quality and a more diverse selection of items. As I have matured my budgets and tastes have as well and I probably would not shop for furniture there again but would recommend it to people in a similar situation as I was a decade ago.

The layout is the same for all their locations, so it makes it easy to find what I need inside the store. They also have a good price and I can get what I need for my office. But, I feel the vibe is not lively enough compare to other furniture store. Maybe it's the color of the wall or the lightning. There are a lot more buzz when I go IKEA or Living Spaces.

Lots of high value and functional furniture all in one place. Also it's a brand I am aware of and think I can trust. I've used it before for office related supplies so I know how they work. It's kind of a big box store for furniture meaning it doesn't have the specialization as other stores, and the employees are generally not as helpful. Since I was only looking for a computer chair there was a lot of wasted space for me to go through to find what I wanted. But I found a computer chair that was in my price range with the features I wanted quick and easy. Got it, got it sent to my house quickly and set up easily so I was happy about that.

I like the fact that I can go in the store and find anything I want, with a large selection to choose from. I also like that the employees don't bother, harass, or rush me to buy something. But I think the prices could be a bit more competitive. I prefer Office Depot over their competitor, Staples, but sometimes I'm forced to use Staples simply because they have the better bargain.
Hi Justin,
Thank you for your feedback. I will certainly share this with our leadership team. I also wanted to point out that, in the future, if you see the same identical item at Staples for less, we'll match their price. You can find full details here, or ask any associate.

Everything I need for these rooms can be found at the store. I was looking for something specific, and I was able to find it and take it home the same day as I purchased it. I was comfortable going to the store and shopping without feeling like I had to do a lot of research online or at other stores beforehand. However, Office Depot does not feel high end. I'd like to see more options, brands, and price points. Also, I'd like more locations. The store is not always convenient for me to visit.

They have about everything in Office Depot for a home, lawn or garden you could want. A simple buy or home improvement task turns into even more because you walk the aisles finding more little things you can do or change. The furniture selection isn’t huge. That would complete everything with more furniture for every room and the selection of electronics to go along with it all. But for office equipment it’s perfect. I chose them because of convenience. It’s couple miles from my house. I knew they could provide the basic furniture I needed for my office. My experience was excellent. They always provide great help and knowledge and customer service. They are attentive to us as customers. They seek you out and make sure you are being helped in some form. It’s a home store. You would never have to go anywhere else. Be perfect fit and convenience. Had a employee help me, ask if I found everything I was looking for and helped me load it in my car. It was a good experience. But they should have more advertisement on local deals or holiday deals like circulars for coupons and stuff, people willing to be more virtuous, more stores and more competition in stuff that is sold at like target and Walmart.

Ordered product on 4/19 on Office Depot online, based on pricing and prior local retail experiences at Office Depot. Full payment was transacted via credit card on day of purchase. Expected delivery date provided on Order Confirmation was 4/30. Tracking details provided on Order Confirmation did not work. Given that the product is fairly large and heavy, site preparation was needed so we enquired via Office Depot customer service on 4/25 to reconfirm the 4/30 ship date. Customer service indicated they too could not determine the delivery status, but followed up with the generic message: "Since this item is coming directly from a third party vendor to your shipping location, we need to contact the vendor for the order status. Once we get a response from the vendor, we will let you know the order status." 4/30 date has come and gone with no product delivered!
We enquired again on 4/29 and 5/2 via Customer Service, requesting them to escalate the delivery status issue. We also made two visits to our local Office Depot store to chase this down. We received more of the same generic responses - that they are not able to contact the 3rd party vendor. In fact, the local store told us on 5/2 that they couldn't track the product delivery status and further that repeated queries from us just slows down the system! Wow, really? Their payment processing sure wasn't slowed down! Today it is 5/3 and still there's no delivery of product and no update from Office Depot on its delivery.
We have made many purchases online in the past and we have purchased many products from our local Office Depot store, but we've never had such a poor experience with an online purchase. We can understand and tolerate delay issues on delivery but the lack of communication and genuine attention from Office Depot for this purchase has left us appalled. If we don't receive an actual update from Office Depot by 5/4 or if we run into any issues in canceling order and obtaining credit, we will be reporting the matter to BBB, FTC, and our state Attorney General.
