This happened on Feb. 8th, 2014. Purchased 12 items, 7 of them rang up wrong so I wasn't angry until poorly trained mgr. didn't know how to handle a customer refund. I had sale paper, receipt, and one the items that was marked wrong due to the fact the vendor marks them but in register they rang 29 cents more than on my package. He still was between lost and found, still never corrected anything, told me to come back which would be 4th trip. 2 trips closed due to bad weather which we never got any of but nevertheless third trip is when Mr. lost and found either didn't have the know how or was just plain Stupid.

He took no number where to reach me, didn't make any copies of receipt. His cashier I could say was also not the shining blub due to the fact I showed her one of seven errors. She said, "I can't imagine you giving me a coupon and me not taking it off." I said, "Well watch the tape back and you will see you weren't doing your job." I have sent a formal complaint to home office.

I couldn't even shop, it was such a mess!! I just left the store. I used to shop there but haven't been there in months. I won't be going back there anytime soon and will be telling my family and friends how bad it was. This store is in Lebanon, PA.

I walked in the Demote Store and the employee named Susan was smoking inside the store at the door while being open. When she was called to the front to check me out, she walked right in front of me cutting me off. Didn't say a word to me at all. No thank you. I have never complained before but I feel kindness is important in customer service. I don't want to go back there if she is working and she shouldn't represent the store because otherwise the store is great.

When I took on the Assistant Manager position after being promoted from Asset Protection Specialist, I was so excited. I was transferred to a store that had really bad inventory. I was told to go in and make a change in the store to make the inventory better. When I got there, I noticed that the associates in the store were basically doing what they wanted to do. They were not following company policies and things were being taken from the store with no purchase. Cashiers were using manager keys and ID numbers to do returns and refunds. I started reporting these issues to the district manager after I tried to talk to the store manager who didn't respond at all. Over the next months, things got worse and the store was getting lots of complaints from customers. The store was filthy and when I would clean, it would go right back to being filthy. Anyway, the store manager started to get frustrated because he was on the verge of losing his job because we failed inventory again.

The district manager never responded to my emails or calls. Then the store manager started issuing write ups to me for things that everyone did in the store. When I asked why I was the only one getting write ups, he said it's not about anyone else... only me. Money started being missing from my drawer and when I would try to review surveillance to see why he would pull me from the office, next thing I know the surveillance was locked. Customers would tell me everyday that he was about to fire me and that I had all these write ups. I couldn't figure out how anyone was discussing my personal business. When I returned from vacation, I was fired on the spot. I asked for a reason and was told the reason I was being fired was that I just simply didn't want to be there. I didn't get anything in writing. Family Dollar fights everyone's unemployment but my case was never disputed. This is because I didn't do anything wrong. The store manager didn't want me there because I exposed all the bad stuff he was doing and allowing to happen by the associates in the store.

I submitted the following complaint to their customer service department and they ignored it. To me that is equivalent to condoning their associate's behavior and they have lost a customer. When I shopped at the store today, July 21, 2013, a lady who I later found out was the manager started following me around the store. As I was getting in the line she rudely came up very close behind me and got something out the drink case. When I got closer to the register, she again rudely walked up too close to me. I wanted to exchange a can opener that didn't work and she said she wouldn't return it because I bought it a month ago. The cashier was also rude making a comment about how it looked and I used the can opener a couple of times and it just stopped opening cans. The date on my receipt is June 23. I told her the receipt didn't state a time limit for a return and that it didn't work.

When my purchase was bagged, the cashier put a bag of cat food and 125 pack of plates in one bag and I asked her to double my bag and the manager said they were not allowed to double bags. I told her, "I'll see what Family Dollar.com says about that." On the way out the store the bag started to break and only then did she tell the cashier to put the cat food in another bag. I was ready to leave my purchase when she refused my exchange. I really don't think that I would return to that store again because of that experience.

I ran and hid, and while hiding, some stuff that was stacked up fell on me and messed up my back. I've missed work, panic and anxiety attacks, and scared to sleep with the lights off now. Their insurance company won't cooperate and to make matters worse, the store had just gotten robbed a few days before and the police says that store gets robbed all the time and still they will not provide security, and then owner of that store told me "Getting robbed is no big deal." I don't know what to do at this point.

I was recently a shopper at a Family Dollar located in Westover, WV when I overheard a Man in a black shirt that said Family Dollar on it, talking to an employee with a lot of disrespect because he said she didn't greet him at the door!!!! However this young lady had 4 people in line to check out... So in her defense she was doing her JOB!!! There is no need to talk to your employees with disrespect!!! I have a state job and I know I wouldn't dare talk like that to any of my fellow workers and employees. This man was out of line. I heard one of the other workers say his name was R*** a district manager. once I realized what his position was, I was sickened to think this man with such a horrible attitude would be hired on for his position.

I seen this young lady leaving the dollar store in tears after this incident occurred. When I approached her to tell her that I thought she was doing an amazing job and not to let anyone put you down when your doing the best you can and she proceeded to tell me that she was SORRY! I told her she had nothing to be sorry for this guy was in the wrong not you, so I informed her to fill out some forms stating that it was a hostile work environment. She said, "I would but I've only been in training for 5 days and I don't want to anger anyone because I'm not like that." Once I realized she was still in training and this guy was talking to her like that!!!! Highly UNPROFESSIONAL if you ask me. This man's job should be terminated and an apology set forth to this young lady because no one should be treated that way!!!!!! I will no longer be a customer of Family Dollar again and I was a frequent shopper.

I shopped at store no. 8465 in Cleveland, Ohio earlier today. Upon arriving home, I realized the cashier had not given me a receipt. I called the store and was told by the person answering the phone that since it was that long ago (fifteen or twenty minutes), I would have to come back to the store and they would have to go back through the computer and find it. I am sure the register printed out a receipt and the cashier just failed to give it to me, so she should have had it at her register. Some of the cashiers at Family Dollar store are very careless and this happens quite a bit. They should be better trained. I will be watching to see if I am charged more than I should have been. I will find a Dollar General or Dollar Tree store in which to shop in the future.

We bought a few items at the store in Unadilla, GA. My husband paid with his debit card and since most of the purchases were mine, he didn't really check the prices. We stopped at two other stores on the way home. Once home, he balanced the checkbook and without thinking tossed the receipt in the trash. Looking at his online bank statement the next day, I told him that no way did we buy $43 worth of items. Of course, we couldn't find the receipt. We went back to the store and explained the situation to a supervisor. We told her which register we were at. She said she would go through all the receipts and asked us to call her in the afternoon.

After calling her, she told us she really needed a timeframe of when we were there. We went through our trash and found the receipt for the store we went to after Family Dollar. We called her again. When we spoke to her the first time, she told us that sometimes the register will charge twice. We returned there today and she told us that her manager said they can't do anything without our receipt. I figure that the manager just doesn't want to be bothered, as the supervisor was really trying to help us. I know it was partly our fault for not checking the receipt but we will not be doing business in that store anymore.

I just moved in the area and normally don't shop at Family Dollar but that being the closest store, I decided to pick up a few items there. Upon checking out, the clerk said that the register was acting up and they could not give (us) the customer a receipt. I really needed one because I was shopping for someone else as well. The manager came up and told him to call someone, I don't know who. But the line was long and the manager kept checking in the coke man counting coke bottles. I asked her to give me a handwritten receipt. She never spoke to me or looked my way. She asked the clerk what I purchased and scribbled something on a torn up paper and handed it to me not even looking at me. I asked her name and she wrote something down. I think her name was Adia. Very, very rude and she was supposed to be the manager? Store #017525.

Family Dollar, Beacon, NY - I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of integrity, pride and compassion of not only the employees but the company itself for having the audacity to create a store with absolutely no consideration of the customers who are the ones that make it possible for them to profit. Aside from my horrible experiences at Family Dollar, I was shocked after reading the reviews here to see that people across the country are experiencing the same thing! This is obviously a company that does not care about family and is only concerned about making that dollar! The employees are a complete disgrace to the customer service industry. The people who hire them are equally disgraceful.

From now on I will be taking my business to Dollar General. I may have to travel twenty more minutes out of my way, but I know when I arrive I will be greeted with a smile and not a disgruntled facial expression. I will receive great customer service by someone who actually cares about their job and the customers they are there to assist. I will be on line for no longer than ten minutes because there are cashiers doing their job quickly and efficiently. Never will there be a line with fifteen customers and three cashiers yet only one working a register. Family Dollar's headquarters needs to do something about this or get lost. People and families do not need to be subjected to this rude and inconsiderate behavior!

My 14-year-old daughter, her friend and I went to Family Dollar in Meadville, MS to make a small purchase for our guest. While I was looking at an item, my daughter and her friend (with my permission) walked two aisles ahead to look at something else. I heard a small ball bounced twice on the floor and immediately heard the employee say in a very loud and rude voice, "I know you aren't bouncing a ball in this store, and I know that you are not walking in the trash that I just swept up." By the time she finished her smart alec sentence, she was looking at me! (I had walked over there to see what her problem was.). I asked to see the manager or her superior right away. I was informed that her manager was at home. I said, "Call her." She said, "I can't do that. She's probably asleep."

My children have never made a mess, moved items, thrown things around, tampered with items, broken or damaged things etc. ever. I have a handicapped child at home and my oldest daughter was planning to purchase the ball (which I did not allow her to purchase after the comments) for her baby sister and was making sure it had enough air in it. She only bounced twice. The employee also informed me that she has a habit of yelling out at whomever, whenever she hears a ball bounce. She said it was her manager's policy! I informed this employee that I am the mother and if my child needs to be corrected, I will do it, not her! There were other customers in the store at that time. There was no sense in yelling at my child. And the "trash she swept up" remark, since when does customers have to go through the store looking at the floor before they walk? I am extremely mad!

My friend was in the Family Dollar store in Cookeville, TN to purchase a bag of cat food. While there, she saw a display of storage units (wood frames with cloth baskets) that looked like something she could use in her home for her grandson. While looking for a price, she tipped one of the boxes forward to see if she could find a price and when she put it back, the adjoining display of bookcases fell. These boxes weighed approximately 10 to 15 pounds each. The store manager even acknowledged that the bars holding the product on the shelf were in need of replacement and had requested they be replaced some time ago through the corporate channels.

My friend was struck on the leg by one of the boxes causing a break in the skin, swelling, and a large bruise. This break in the skin has now caused cellulitis to occur in her leg with much pain and discomfort. The store manager filed an incident report and contacted the Claims department for Family Dollar on the spot. It took 22 days for anyone to get back with her and all they will offer her is a $300 gift card to the store. My friend has had 3 doctor appointments, and 2 ultrasounds on this wound to try and treat it. So far, it is not responding to treatment and my friend is in excruciating pain, unable to get comfortable and not able to get quality of sleep.

Here's the point. The insurance adjuster with Family Dollar has advised her that they, 1) will not pay for any medical expenses, and 2) if the customer touched the product that created the injury, Family Dollar is not liable. When my friend told the adjuster that she did not touch the product that fell, the response was, "You can't prove that." This exchange took place after the adjuster had turned off the tape recorder she had running to record the conversation. If this is true, and I'm sure it is, why doesn't Family Dollar post this information clearly for anyone to see that they are entering at their own risk? We all shop with a degree of confidence that if anything happens to us in the store, we will be adequately compensated, and at the very least, medical expenses covered.

This posting is not about getting monetary gains. It's about information sharing. If you have small children and you shop at Family Dollar, do not let them touch anything in the store and watch them carefully while you're there. In fact, I would advise everyone to stay away from this chain because you are not safe there. After reading these other posts about boxes in the aisle, not enough employees in the store at any given time and the rude treatment by employees, I will never step foot in another Family Dollar store, ever! I would advise everyone else to do the same. Perhaps when their bottom line is affected, they will treat their customers with some measure of respect and dignity.

I have made several complaints to the managers about the small bags, how dirty the store is and the shopping carts are always outside; but nothing ever gets done about the complaints. Also, when they stock the shelves, they have a huge cart in the middle of the aisle and customers have to go around to another aisle to get the items they want. If you do not want them to say this phrase, why sell the Christmas merchandise? My co-workers and I work eight hours shift or more. She goes in and changes our time always. That is stealing. I have been there for four months and she's still doing it. She has her boyfriend and husband working in the store, and not paid to be there on the clock. Every customer who comes in this store gets treated bad. Something needs to be done. That store will have no customer soon. I will report this to the EEOC for some help.

My husband and I got so upset. I could have cried. I threw my opened purse in the cart, he looked in it, and just turned and walked away. My husband told him as much shopping as we do here, we will never be back. He didn't even apologize. I've written three letters to the corporate office. They emailed me saying they sent this info to the store. This is so ridiculous. It's a shame. They were already rude once to me, so why would they send an apology, a gift card or any coupons or anything? To me, they don't care. Sad, but true. I am still hurt and upset. When I walked up to the register, the clerk answered a personal call on her cell phone while we waited in line. The umbrella did not have price so she made me bring the empty box to the cash register for the SKU. I assumed she was the only clerk in the store (on a Saturday). There was no price on the box so she had me bring a piece of patio furniture up to the register. Instead of checking me out after her last customer, she made me wait. I started to complain. The customers were willing to let her check me out after having to work for the umbrella, but her comment was that I could wait or go to Walmart and pay a higher price.

I walked out of the store and proceeded to Big Lots where I purchased the umbrella for half of the price at Family Dollar. This incident will cost you more than just an umbrella as I visited this store on several occasions. I will now drive 1/4 mile down Big Lots where the prices are just as good. I'm sure Walmart will thank their employee for the free advertisement. This person should be counseled and/or reprimanded for her unprofessional attitude and poor customer service. Also, the store manager should have had more than one employee in the store on busy Saturday.

I was asked to come to the Farmingville store yesterday (5-4-12) for an "interview" with the district manager. I did, only to be told to re-apply online. The store’s computers were down so I was sent to the Selden, NY store. The clerk there advised me "not to bother" because 25 minutes into the app, the program crashes!

I have "21" years, management experience, the PJS store is hiring for that position. I’ve shopped this store for years and have never seen it in such disarray! Unpacked boxes blocking the aisles, merchandise on the floor, empty shelves waiting to be restocked of advertised products. It’s the talk of the neighborhood! One week, or less, of me being the assistant manager would totally turn the store back to what it used to be. I have never heard of such hiring practices, especially when the store is advertising for assistant managers. I have no kids at home, nothing to keep me from working any amount of hours, holidays included. I’m within walking distance from the store. Any feedback will be welcomed, thank you.

I've experienced nothing but discrimination from Family Dollar in Landover, MD. They have the message that plays when the store gets too crowded, about the location being monitored and law enforcement on standby. I also had an incident at this location where I was arrested, and the police had to find someone to come and pick up my two kids.

I entered the store and checked the bags that I had from another store at the register upon request. I shopped, spent about $30 and retrieved my other bags before leaving out. I got about 2 blocks away, when I heard someone yelling 'Excuse me'. I turned around and it’s a lady asking to check my bags. I asked why. She said a customer said they saw you put something in your bag. She was referring to the diaper bag on my son’s stroller. I told her, I didn't take anything and no she couldn't check my bags. She told me the police would have to be called and I told her I’m fine with that.

So while we're waiting, she attempted twice to grab my child’s diaper bag off the stroller. I asked her can she please not touch my son’s stroller. I was already embarrassed enough at the manner that she chased me down in and I figured maybe the police can handle things a little more professionally. She and I got into a verbal altercation over her attempts to grab the bag. She was telling me I can come back and see her when she gets off of work.

So we're going back and forth, someone came up and grabbed my arm from behind and said stop. My first reaction was to push this person because I didn't know who it was. Come to find out it was an undercover officer. He shoved me against the wall with my hands behind my back, in front of my kids. I explained to him that initially I didn't know who he was, and that he should've announced himself. The lady was still taking verbal jabs at me. I said something in my defense and he rough handled me more.

So at this time, I just feel attacked, and took out my phone and called the police. Once they got there, the undercover sheriff informed me that I’m under arrest for assault on an officer. He put me in his car asked for numbers for someone to come pick up my kids or they'll have to go to foster care. They searched through my things and saw that I didn't take anything. The undercover came and told me that I did look suspicious on the videotape. I asked him what looked suspicious about it. He said I was picking up items and putting them back? What? So anyways, I was arrested. It’s Friday, I have to stay the weekend, and my kids and I trip to the park once we left the store was canceled. They gave me a bond that I needed my mother’s help to pay. Luckily, someone was able to come get the kids, and the items I purchased that day were m.i.a.

That’s an experience I never wish to go through again with my children. Not to mention when the police called the friends and family members’ numbers I gave them, they bad mouthed me. My child’s father told me when he asked what I did they said, "Come on man you know what she did. She’s a crack head right". Apparently, this was what they had gathered from the worker who had approached me. She also told them that I came into the store all the time and steal, which was odd because I made a point to not frequent any of the stores in my neighborhood, specifically because they treat you like a criminal and the customer service is terrible. That might have been my 2nd trip to that store in a 2-year period. Mistaken identity?

They killed my grandmother’s plant that was there from when I was a child. There was no sense in this total inconsiderate operation. I have pictures and witnesses. I also spoke with Mr. ** about that and a privacy fence between us. He would say that he would see what he could do about that. Now, he says that Family Dollar will have to do that if they want. It is my mother’s address - I feel offended and violated by this place and the developers because they do what they want and have no consideration for anyone. Well, if the people don’t support the place, they might not have a business. I will say that I was kind of proud that they were going to be where they are so that it would be easy access, but I am very disappointed in the way things have happened.

The last time I spoke to the developer, he told me he would be there in two weeks and he would look at the damage. He assured me that he would call me and let me know exactly when he was coming so I could meet with him. As of now, I have not heard from him. He asked what he could do to rectify the problem and I told him at that moment I did not know and to let me know when he was coming and we would discuss it when he got here. I know that sales have dropped since Jessica was fired and they will continue to drop because we don't want to shop there any longer. Family Dollar isn't about "family". It's about its self. I will drive to Clinton to shop before I step foot in that store again. You need to bring that young lady Jessica back. As a matter of fact, everyone of your stores needs a Jessica.

I went to Family Dollar twice today, 02-12-2012. The Family Dollar I went to was store # 1443 at 5706 Lockwood Dr. Houston, Texas. The first time I went, it was about 11 am this morning, me and my daughter. I bought a few things. When I got to the register, I did not have enough cash to pay for everything so I told the cashier I was going to pay so much in cash and pay the rest on my debit card. That's when the cashier got very rude with me. Her name tag said Jasime. She got upset because she had to void the transaction out and I did apologize for sending her through the trouble. She just spank her lips and rolled her eyes. And I was asking her another question while she was waiting for someone to override the void and she made me feel like I was very annoying to her. I was so in a hurry to get from her register I forgot one of my bags. So I called and asked them to hold it for me a few hours because I was already at home like 10 miles away.

So when I got back to the store, I had enough money to get the items I put back. I ask her nicely after she gave me my bag that I forgot. I said, "Mam, did you put the stuff back already that I did not have enough for?" She again got very rude. She said with a very bad attitude, "What bag? What are you talking about?" again spanking her lips. And I was trying to explain what I was talking about. She rudely cut me off and said, "No, I don't know what you're talking about and anyway my register is close." And she just turned her back to me. I asked her can I speak to her manger. She rung a bell and that's it and no one never came up front. My daughter said, "Momma, she has a very nasty attitude." I will never go back there again. I never seen no employee so mean and rude as her. Someone truly need to address this with the manger and her. It makes Family Dollar looks very bad. And I question do the owner truly know what kind of people he has working for him? Thank you.

I only live down the street and needed to go run and get the car. She told me that "it wasn't ** cool." She then said how I was ** up for the whole situation. I then ran to get my card to do the purchase, which took a whole two minutes maybe because my daughter would not leave without her stuff. My daughter herself is a 13-year old girl with delays and mental disabilities so she doesn't understand. She herself thought that it all was her fault. Ugh!

I was so embarrassed and upset that the manager was talking to me like that to begin with, but then it was in front of my kid. Neither I nor my child should've had to endure the whole situation like that! I have ended up having a seizure due to being so upset over it all. I was a regular customer at this store. I sometimes went daily. I will no longer shop at this store ever! I have seen her being so rude to other customers at times but now that it has happened to me I am in awe! I was at the Family Dollar located at 22053 South Dixie Highway, Miami, FL, (305) 258-5427. The assistant manager Jose was asked to look over my coupon which was a P&G (Proctor and Gamble) coupon that gave me $2.00 off Old Spice Body Wash (and body wash excluding trial size). Their current advertisement states that 18 oz Old Spice Body Wash is on sale for $3.00 - $2.00 (coupon) = $1.00. They refused to accept the coupon. Jose called the area operations manager who instructed in Spanish (a language I do not speak) that they do not accept manufacture coupons on this product. This conflicts with the 12/29/2011 sales paper for Family Dollar. I immediately pointed out Jose to store location’s sales paper. He called the manager back for giving me incorrect information.

During this whole time, everyone in the store, when referring to my situation, was speaking Spanish. I found this rude and extremely racist! I don't know what was said and I was not able to participate in this open and public conversation. I immediately let the assistant manager know that I would like the corporate office number. He refused to write the number down and directed me to get the corporate number off their window outside. I was shocked! I walked outside and only found the area operations manager’s number who was already on the phone with his assistant manager.

There was no corporate office number found on the outside of this location! I was insulted and felt extreme prejudice from all employees and the area operations manager on the phone, especially since they all spoke Spanish the whole time. This happened on 01/01/2012. What a way to start the New Year! I will do everything in my power to find justice for this treatment.

Seeing that this particular store had the Keri lotion on sale for $2.50, I decided to buy (3) bottles of this lotion and use my (3) coupons, making my final cost for each bottle, before taxes: $0.50. I gave the coupons to the cashier and as he was ringing my coupons, the register beeped. He politely explained to me that he didn't know why the register was not recognizing the coupon as the coupon was valid and could be used on the product that I was purchasing. A co-worker came to help and as soon as she saw my coupons, she began to give me dirty looks and a nasty attitude. She said, "where the hell are you getting these coupons from? "I politely said "from my Sunday newspaper, is there a problem?" Her reply was, "I didn't say that there was a problem you stupid ***-***!" I was astonished! I was humiliated in front of the workers and other customers in the store, not to mention my son whom has never been around cursing.

I asked to speak to the manager, and the man that was helping me at first called out to his manager, Steve. He told him about the coupons and how they were not being recognized. I went on to try to explain to him how I was being treated by the female employee and he totally ignored me, saying "we can not accept these coupons".

Now, not only was I humiliated, I was angry. I was angry because the manager did not even try to apologize for his employee's behavior and angry at the fact that he completely ignored my complaint. Secondly, I was mad that he was claiming that he did not accept my coupons without any reasoning.

I have never been to this Family Dollar store and come out with a good experience. I have decided that I will never step foot into any Family Dollar store. I want someone to take action and make sure that the female employee is punished for her actions. She should have gotten fired by her manager or suspended for the way she verbally abused me and humiliated me in front of everyone. I have had recent experiences where customer safety was an issue that managers could control. One manager, Hamer, had a fight with an employee he had fired who brought her boyfriend in with her. It lasted several minutes at the checkout lines. I contacted the district manager Dennis. I said it was not only lack of common sense. But it put the customers and all in the store in danger of this volatile situation. The district manager, Dennis, just made excuses.

I have had a homeless woman who is always up against the back wall of the business outside, harassing and threatening to hurt me as I go by. She hasn't done it before and was alarming what she was saying. I reported it to the police on the day it happened, and the manager 2 days later when I returned to the same situation. The manager Richard said he would see I got out okay. As I was paying, a man behind me started arguing about this situation with me. The manager did nothing and did not see me out as promised. The man who started giving me a bad time followed me all the way home, as well as tried to spur up the homeless lady to start with me too. I had to run home with this posse after me. The man had stopped by his apartment to get more to chase me.

I just had bilateral mastectomies for breast cancer. I informed all managers involved of this. I am a retired police officer and have made multiple reports about this and the woman outside. Nothing has been done as the police say it is the store's responsibility. Richard made excuses when I called on Sunday, Oct. 2nd. He said that it is up to police. I called corporate and waited one business week and my phone did not ring from them. So, it's a proof that no one cares, as I left a specific detailed message of what was going on and my expectations. I am taking it up with the local newspaper and the city council to take care of forcing the store to take active management, whether they want to or not.

Okay, so this is not the first time I have had trouble with this particular store. About one year ago, I went in trying to use coupons. At the time, I had just got a new job and my funds were running low. Well, I had several coupons on several different items and a $5 off a $25 purchase. I informed the cashier, who was hateful to me when I had previously asked what the limit on a certain coupon was, that I only had $30 and I was trying to hit as close to $25 as possible because I needed gas.

Well, she rang all my stuff up and my total was right at $25 but the five dollar coupon didn't show up on the total. When I questioned her about it, she said it would take it off when I swipe my card, so I did and it didn't so. Before I typed my pin, she realized that the total was only $24 something before tax and that I would have to purchase something else. She was very irritated at this point. So I just grabbed a sucker wanting to hurry. When she tried to scan it, she couldn't because I had already swiped my card like she had told me to. So she got mad at looked at me like she wanted to stab me and said, "well you're just going to have to pay it because you swiped your card".

At this point, I'm getting a tad ill. So I took a breath and asked if I went ahead and paid the money then bought the sucker on a separate transaction, would she give my money back? She didn't even want to try to figure out a solution. I told her I didn't want any of the stuff. I turned to walk out and made it to the door and pushed when she screamed in front of the whole store that if I walked out, she was calling the police --in front of the whole store like I stole something. I was so humiliated. Anyway, after standing there going round with her for about 20 minutes, she finally cleared my order and I asked for her district manager's number, name and her name. She just looked at me like I was stupid and asked for my name.

Now I didn't curse her the whole time trying to keep my composure in front of the whole store who are mostly people in my community. But when she asked for my name, I gave her the finger and said "**, that's my name!". I ended up talking with the district manager anyway when my dad called the store and got the number by saying he was a sales representative of some sort. She was very nice about the entire situation and promised it wouldn't happen again.

Now that I told that story to get to my new complaint. It has been over a year and I have just started going back over there. This store plainly has that it closes at 7PM on the door. I went about 2 weeks ago at 6:55PM according to my Verizon phone and I went to open the door and it was locked. She was standing at the register and just smiled and waved. Well tonight, I got off work at 6:30PM and rushed over there to pick up food for my dog and guess what? Closed at 6:44PM. I understand that it's only 15 minutes, just like it was only 5 dollars. But the principle is the same: The store's workers need to honor its policies.

I purchased contaminated food item that was consumed by my seven-year-old daughter. The food (candy) was placed at the register for sale inside a basket. I then purchased the candy. My daughter ate the candy, got sick, and had to be taken to the ER.

I contacted the store to make them aware of what happened after my child ate the candy. The store representative who answered the phone call placed me on hold to go check the remaining candy items for sale in the basket, then verbally told me that she could not identify the smell coming from the candy, but it smelled like a cologne. She informed me that they would remove the remaining candy from the basket to avoid selling them, and they hope my daughter is okay.

Maybe it's me, but I feel I am a customer and I pay her salary. This is a retail establishment, and you have to deal with the public. I practice not being rude to anyone, and I hope to be treated the same. I realize sometimes customers can be rude, but I've gone the extra mile to be nice to this lady. If I am not welcome to shop in this store for any reason, let me know and I won't. She is not doing me any favor by taking my cash, as there are plenty of merchant that would be glad to have it.

The manager, maria sanchez, had a nasty disposition before i started explaining the incident to her. She had a very unprofessional disposition and many customers witnessed her behavior. She asked the employee if there was something on the floor and he said that it was something slick so, he poured bleach on it to clean it up.

The young man that assisted me looked at her as well and tried to explain what he witnessed. She was rude to him as well. Then, he tried to assist my niece with the bags because, i couldnt hold anything on the arm that was just injured. She rudely felt the need to express that he could not help us with our bags. Of course, i was still bleeding and in a great deal of pain. She addressed my 14 year old niece and said my niece had to take all the bags out herself. I told her not to address my niece at all and that she needs to take the incident report. Also, I informed her about her rude behavior and told her that i will be calling corporate.

I went to purchase two items of Secret Deodorant (1.7oz) that were priced (not on sale) at $1.65. I wanted to use the Family Dollar coupon that was provided in the June 28-July 30th, 2011 coupon booklet. The coupon was for $1 off on the receipt, but it did not deduct the $1.00 from the price. I also presented a manufacturer's coupon that did not have any limitations, such as using with another coupon. The manufacturer's coupon was deducted from the balance, but the Family Dollar coupon was not honored from the balance.

I was told by the cashier in a not so friendly tone, that she did what she was supposed to do. I told her that I could present two Family Dollar coupons because the coupon said, “Limit one coupon per item per visit.” She argued that that it meant only one coupon per visit. I insisted it meant one coupon per item; so, I could purchase more than one item, and present more than one coupon. I called the corporate office after being rudely told to contact another employee the following day. I also called the store manager and she only contacted other store managers regarding the problem. She never contacted the corporate office. However, she gave me the corporate phone number. I called the corporate office’s coupon department, and voicemails were full. I was transferred to three different people's voicemails, and I explained the situation. I mentioned that I wanted to have a return call before the advertised price of the coupon had expired. I have not yet received a return call.

I went to another Family Dollar store thirty minutes away, and I asked the cashier if I could use the coupon on the item described in the coupon. I was told that because the item did not match the exact picture, but it matched the description, it would not work. I waited on a store manager. I pointed out to the store manager with a printed coupon policy in hand, that the Family Dollar coupon policy states that there were some restrictions to some of their coupons. It states that, “Limit one coupon per purchase.” The coupon that I was using said, “Limit one coupon; per item, and per visit.” It did not limit the number of items or coupons that I could have used. They would not honor the coupon. That store manager did override the one item purchased, and the item rang up because of a manual override to subtract the $1, but they would not allow me to use the manufacturer's coupon.

I am very frustrated that they are not honoring their advertised price. This is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! I will not be using Family Dollar for my purchases any longer. I will continue to pursue this issue because this is FRAUD!

I said that the coupon was in date and she was obligated to give me the price. She told me that the Coke people ** up (yep, she said it) and she wasn't obligated to fix their problem.

Also, that is the most disorganized store I have ever been in. I looked for cat products on sale via the flyer I received at home, which is also from her store, and they had the very same product in three separate locations (not even close to each other). The stocker said he just put them wherever there was space.

Plus, I picked up 10 boxes of Mason jar lids from the clearance bin. There was no price on the bin, but $1.50 was the original price on the box. They rung up at $1.50 and the woman at the register told me they were not on clearance and that the reason they were over in clearance was probably because that was where they were put. Huh?!

Anyway, I won’t be going back there ever again. But somebody needs to do something about that store. Nothing happened! I paid the full price for everything regardless of whether it was in the flyer. I did get the Coke products for $.85 each, but I feel that was because another customer was behind me in line with Coke products that began to raise the roof loudly if she didn't get hers for $.85. She made it sound like it was an effort for her to do cash back

Since this isn't the usual Family Dollar store that I frequent, I thought it might just be a store policy not a corporate policy so I sent an email to the corporate office of Family Dollar for clarification on this. I received a voice mail message on December 13, from Mike **, who claims to be the District Manager for Family Dollar and according to him: “Yes, Family Dollar does charge an additional fee for allowing customers to do cash back on point of sale PIN transactions and that all stores do”. Well obviously all stores do not do this since I did a cash back on a point of sale PIN transaction at the local Publix grocery store and did not receive any additional fees from them for doing that nor did they even mention such an additional fee.

This additional fee that Family Dollar purports to be a common practice amongst stores bothers me since as a retired banker I am fully aware that point of sale PIN initiated transactions gives the merchant cash credit for that sale and unlike credit card transactions, there is no merchant discount fee for the merchant associated with a PIN initiated transaction .So why would cash back cause an additional fee to the customer? And just who gets that additional fee income the bank or Family Dollar and if it's Family Dollar, how do they report that additional income on their tax returns?

On Sunday, October 24, 2010, around 7:30pm, I entered the store for two reasons. One, I had a immense urge to use the restroom facility and after realizing the store was still open. I thought it would be a good time to pick up some items, I needed for the house and to use the restroom while I was there.

I had been visiting the store next door who clearly post that they do not have a public restroom, so I had already been holding it for quite a while. Rushing to my car so that I could drive across the street to a restroom, I realized that I was parked in front of Family Dollar.

This is not the first time I have used a restroom at a Family Dollar Store, so I did not think it would be a problem otherwise I would have just went somewhere else as I originally intended.

When I first entered the store, the cashier greeted me nicely and asked if I needed help finding anything. I asked her if I could use their restroom. At first she responded yes, but soon after she stated that she forgot someone was in there cleaning it and if I could give her 5 to 10 minutes to finish. My response was I don't think I have that long but okay. I proceeded with my shopping and after picking up a few items, I see a store representative in the back of the store and assumed she must be the one cleaning the restroom, so I asked her if I could use the restroom. She tells me they don't have a restroom.

I ask her what does she use while at work and has to go.Then she says that she can not let me in the restroom. I explained to her that the cashier in the front told me she was cleaning it and that I have to go really bad and have wasted a lot of time waiting for her to finish cleaning. She just stood there saying no and shrugging her shoulders. I immediately dropped the items, I had planned on purchasing and marched up to the front and told the front cashier that I thought that was really ** of them not allowing a paying customer to use the restroom facility.

I feel as though if a Hispanic person like themselves would have had the same need as I, there would not have been a problem. I left out the store and returned 5 minutes later (after using the restroom at an adjacent store) with my husband who insist that we file a complaint. With the intent of obtaining the store address, corporate phone number, and possible names of the employees working that evening. He went into the store while I stayed in the car because I was extremely upset and frustrated.

I also did not believe they would provide the correct information to begin with so I would prefer obtaining it on my own. When he returns he informs me that the cashier refused to give her name stating to him that "her name has nothing to do with nothing". The store address was also not provided.

I feel as though the store employees were careless in expressing that there is no public restroom policy if there is indeed one and because the cashier asked me to wait 5 to 10 minutes the second employee should have let me in.

To tell a person one thing and actually do another is poor customer service. Not to mention there were several items I needed to purchase out of the store and was forced to leave sooner than I needed to for the sake of using a restroom. I feel as though as a customer that is no way to treat a customer and it has placed a foul taste in my mouth concerning Family Dollar Stores if employees are allowed to treat customers this way.

On September 3, 2010 (8:00am), I went to Family Dollar Store located on the corner of Beach Blvd. and Parental Home Dr. I was at the store 5 minutes before it opened. I and another customer stood by the door waiting for the store to open. As we were waiting, I noticed the store manager (Emma) was the only one in the store and the person I was standing with made a comment that he did not like her.

We begin to share stories about incidents at that particular store. My main complaint is that she is very loud and rude and never speaks to black people when they enter her store. As she opened the door to let us in, she told the gentleman he was welcome to come in and shop, but I was not. She turned to me and told me I was banned from the store because her co-workers have told her that I talk about her like a "dog". I assumed she overheard me talking to the other customer outside.

I asked her was she playing and she said she was not playing. I asked her was she sure that Mr. Family Dollar Store does not want my money? She told me I could shop at other FDS, but not at that one because I caused too much stress on her employees when I talk about her.

I told her I would be needing a phone number to call corporate concerning her decision and she refused to give me a number. I waited for the gentleman to come out of the store. I got his name and number which he was glad to give me because he felt that was wrong as well. I left and proceed to another Family Dollar Store in the area. I asked for their corporate number and had no problem obtaining it. I then told the on duty manager what happened at the other store and was then told no one likes Emma and that Family dollar Store does not ban people from the store unless they have been stealing, etc.

So here was another manager telling me she had no right to do that.

I called corporate and made a complaint and was told the district manager would be returning a call to me. It has been 3 weeks and no call from a district manager and I have called them several times to get in touch with this district manager. Bottom line: if FDS has employees that can't handle being talked about by a paying customer, then they don’t need to be working in their stores. If this is how FDS does business and treat customers, then they don’t deserve my money.

There are other complaints I have about that particular store. The store manager plays gospel music at the checkout counter. I like gospel music, but she loops the same song over and over and I feel she should play it in the back amongst her employees and not subject a customer to hear it.

Most of the employees don’t speak when you walk in and it is a pet peeve of mine because I'm big on hospitality.

The manager (Emma) can be standing at the checkout counter and will call another employee to cash you out. I asked her one day why she couldn’t cash me out and she told me that is why she hired them.

The store is very congested, but I go there because it's in my neighborhood and very convenient.

I was embarrassed, insulted and hurt that she would block me from coming in and telling me I was banned.

I live a block from the store and I pass it everyday and because I have never been banned from anything, it just upsets me to look that way.

She has diabetes and needs to eat something before I give her an insulin shot. Therefore, it was imperative that I purchase the dog food in a timely fashion.

Having done into this particular store previously about a month ago I was told I could not purchase with my husband's credit card which I use all the time unless I could show my license. Today I brought the license and was again refused use of the card. My license shows that my last name is the same as my husband's. The cashier refused and I asked to speak to a supervisor.

The supervisor was extremely arrogant to me. She stated she did not know if that was my husband. I politely protested that if I am showing my valid New York State license how would I ever dare to use an unauthorized card that could quickly and easily be traced back to me. She became abusive in her language to me and I began to search for money in my purse as I told you it was important to purchase this food quickly so that the dog could have her insulin shot.

Cashier #1 was standing in the middle of the supervisor and cashier #2 at the checkout counter. I placed one dollar on the counter and then another and cashier #2 with an angry face said to cashier #1 "You don't have to sell to her. She is throwing the money on the counter!" Now tell me please how do you put money on the counter other than taking it one bill by one bill from your purse and placing it on the counter? My purchase was already entered into the cash register and was packed in a double plastic bag. The supervisor then exclaimed, "I am going to call the police!"

Now angered by this nonsense I exclaimed "call the police. What are you going to call the police for?" And he said, "You want me to take the credit card." How could she possibly say this to me when she saw the cash on the counter? I then exclaimed that I thought I was being treated so shabbily because I was a white person in a completely black neighborhood and I thought this was unfair. I took my bag and began to leave the store and the woman again said she would call the police.

I told her she had no reason to call the police for there is a video camera in your store that was recording the entire incident and that I had placed $9 in cash on the counter and they were refusing to give me my change. I left the store and returned to my office where I have been sick and upset ever since and laying on our couch here with episodes of vertigo caused by the shabby and rude and unorthodox treatment by family dollar's employees.

I have been a faithful customer of the Family Dollar chain for the last 10 years and I have never had an experience like I had at store #1580 on Friday, July 23, 2010. I walked into the store around 8:45 p.m. to pick up a few items like I normally do at least 4 times a week and was greeted by a young lady at the door who stated that I had 10 minutes to shop and that was all she said. I was a little surprised by the comment and thought how rude that comment was.

As I proceeded to pick up my few items, I began thinking of how rude the comment really was. I began looking around the store to see if I could recognize the manager of that location and I couldn't. I proceeded back to the register where the young lady continued standing at the front door telling customers they had 10 minutes to shop. Once I got to the line, I noticed that there was only 1 checker working and at least 8 people standing in that 1 line. I began to get angry and think how dare she greet customers with that line and then make them wait for longer than 10 minutes to be checked out.

I asked an employee if I could speak to the manager of that location and she pointed me to the young lady standing at the door. I asked the young lady if she was the manager and she responded by saying that she was the assistant manager and that the manager was not on duty in the store on this night. I immediately let her know how furious I was with the greeting and thought that she was rude and disrespectful to the customers who chose to shop in the store that night. She responded that she was given directions from the corporate office to greet customers that way and that she was following her orders. I told her that those orders were not friendly and should not be directed from the corporate managers of this billion dollar chain. I told her that I wanted the number to the corporate headquarters so that I can request that they discontinue directing their management staff to be rude to the customers coming into the store.

The assistant manager proceeded to give me the number to the corporate headquarters and I asked her what her name was and she gave me the name. I felt that her demeanor was less than professional and she expressed no concern about my complaint. I asked her what the name of the manager who was in charge of that store and she gave me the name. I told her that I would call the manager on the next business day to report my experience in that store. She stated that it was fine with her. I then heard one of her employees (checker) interject herself into the conversation and began arguing with me about my questioning the assistant manager about the policies of that store.

I asked the employee to refrain from commenting about the situation because I was directing my comments to the person in charge. She continued to argue with me and told me that because I complained that I would be banned from that store. Now this was the employee stating this to a customer. This employee was totally out of line with this comment.

I, again, asked the checker not to make any comments to me about this situation and she threatened to call security on me. I told her to go ahead and do so. I was within my rights to complain about the poor customer service in that store. I was shocked that the assistant manager allowed the employee to engage in a verbal altercation with a customer. I am sure that this is not in any procedure book in this company; at least I hope not. I would like for someone in the Family Dollar corporate office to know about this unpleasant experience I had this evening with the employees of this company.

I am extremely angry and frustrated with what occurred and would like the employees mentioned in this incident reprimanded for their unprofessional conduct to the customers who choose to shop with this company. I believe that both employees need to have further training on the importance of treating each and every customer with the respect and dignity they deserve. I do not plan to shop in the Family Dollar chain anytime soon. I try to avoid going to Wal-Mart and frequent this chain because of the low prices and friendly employees that I have encountered in the past. I believe that from now on I will make the trip to Wal-Mart and spend my money there. At least, I will get better customer service as well as the same low prices.

I used to shop at this store all the time. But now they play hip-hop music very loud. I don't want to hear that when I'm spending my money. Another time when the store was very crowded, an elderly lady asked the manager if he could open another register. He actually cursed her out and said no. I have heard him curse people out before. If something doesn’t change, I will no longer shop there. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I really try to enjoy my shopping experience with Family Dollar. Today however, I came across something that I cannot ignore. I shop on a regular basis at Family Dollar for diapers. The size I get is size 3. I usually buy the 60ct back at the price of 10$. So today I sent my daughter-in-law to get some for my grandson. Her child is younger than mine, however he is kind of chunky. But he has health issues that make him chunky. Well she brought home a size 4 pack of diapers with a count of only 31 and she paid exactly what I paid for twice the diapers.

I am writing to Family Dollar because this is Kidgets, a Family Dollar brand name diaper. I wanted to give you an opportunity to remedy and answer this complaint before I called better business bureau, the consumer hotline and Katrina from contact 6. This is an absolute rip off that she had to pay 10 dollars and got half the diapers I got, 29 diapers less for the same price I pay. That is a monstrosity, and I reiterate an absolute rip off. I am hoping that Family Dollar is not intending on ripping off its costumers. So I am writing that something be done, and this girl is given the other 29 diapers that she paid for. And yes, any attorney is welcome to contact me as I will contact one myself.

I went into the store yesterday and started to purchase $30+ dollars worth of goods after the cashier (also the mgr) rang it all up she preceded to say oh I cant take checks my check machine is broke and I’m waiting on another. So I said Thank you and walked out. I went in the store today and there was a note on that cash register that there were no checks on that register so before I left I said you mean the other register can take checks and she said yes but if you want to write a check you better hurry cause he's (the other cashier) is leaving. I said you mean the other register was working yesterday and I couldn’t write a check and she told me no cause they had me locked into that register.

I can’t imagine how many sales were lost due to not being able to write a check! I use to frequent this store at least once a week but I have had several issues and thought well maybe I'll try again. And then this happened! I have seen and heard this particular manager be very rude to employees in front of other customers she is NOT someone I would see as a manager as she is very rude. Almost every time I have gone in there, there is someone new working as she cannot keep help. I have said before that I was going to send in a complaint but never did but this time it really made me mad since she could have used a machine that was working to make a sale! I have heard from several others on how rude the manager (Debbie) has been but no one seems to want to take the time to send in a complaint and after all this I had to go thru to find where to complain I'm not sure I would do it again I would just not shop at that store! It is really a shame because I like shopping that store but I don’t have to. There is a Family Dollar 20 miles North and one 15 miles south and the people there are great!

I went in to purchase diapers for my daughter. I had a roll of dimes and nickels to help pay my total; I also had $6 in cash. Well, I asked the cashier if it was OK to use the change and I was told, “No, we don’t take that.” Well, that upset me. I had no diapers and now I have to go to another store to purchase them. I felt discriminated against because the lady was rude to me, but the other customers in the store were being spoken to, laughing and carrying on. I was not of the same ethnic background as the employees or customer. My money is as good as the next person even if it is change. I will never shop there again and also will let my family and friends know how I was treated. I’ve also noticed that there is only one ethnicity working there. I have no problem with that, but I do expect to be treated like any other customer. Well, less business for them.

I go to this Family Dollar store near me as I get weary of going to Walmart & your store is closer to me. I am disabled - seriously. I have a port in my chest which I receive chemo through & was told to never lift anything heavy. In the past, most of the time at this store, I have asked for double bagging & that the bags be packed lightly as I have no one to help me carry them out to the car or into my home. I usually spend close to $100 as I go only once every 2 weeks or so.

There have been many times I have had bottles leak in my car! So now, I always tighten the caps on every bottle myself. Tonight I asked for double bagging and didn't get it with the result that 2 bags ripped apart sending bottles rolling down the hill my house sits on! They were packed very heavily! The manager who rang me up was griping about his job at your store & was very clear on my requests but he simply didn't do what I asked him with the result that i don't think I'll go to that store again & will try Dollar general stores here & see if I can't get better service!

I had ammonia spill in my car(!) damaging my leather seats & carpeting - I had to, with bad knees, go after bottles that rolled all the way to the street down a hill due to cheap bags! & them not double bagging my items. I hurt all over from cleaning my car out as best I could & it still stinks like ammonia! My leather seats will be inspected tomorrow as it is too late & I'm too tired to review the damage to them. I am angry! And, I am out the lost merchandise that leaked, my aches from carrying too heavy bags. I don't know - the port area in my chest from carrying too heavy bags can't be paid for - I hope I don't have to go to the ER at the hospital due to this!

Since taking Family Dollar Store's "Sleep Aid" containing 100% Diphenhydramine, on and off for several years, I increased its nightly use because I was getting use to the addictive drug and it did not work as well; Sunrise Hospital (10/28-30/10)kept me under medication in an unconscious state for three days creating this extremely expensive bill $60,000.00. (after write-off), plus ambulance and drug bills, etc., I am not sure if this was actually medically necessary, even though I am 61 years old, but the drug caused the seizure, nosebleeds and spitting up clots of coagulated blood.

The CVS pharmacist answered my question when I asked him if this drug was safe to use with the blood pressure meds I picked up there; that diphenhydramine is a dangerous drug and should not be taken by people over mid 40's. CVS television commercials state it is dangerous and to use a product which does not contain this drug. Two months of juice (fresh pears) therapy flushed the drug from the lower extremities of my body, with thoughts of suicide in the last two weeks. I lost work for many months and still have occasional seizures so I cannot start new jobs.

This all caused the executor of the estate since the death of my mother, my sister Debbie, to doubt and instill her narcissistic temper on me, asking me to leave my father's house because she did not want to be responsible for me. She will not allow me to try to sell our collection of Ten Renaissance paintings because she does not trust me in this mental state. Also, the ambulance attendant caused damage to my right arm while attempting to restrain me, making it difficult to even write my name. A police officer and my sister witnessed this and the attendant was told by the officer to stop hurting me. The problem caused by this drug creates a lot of tension in this household for my 89 year old father and me. We are having a very difficult time paying the bills without my ability to advance in a job situation, although we own our house free and clear.

I believe this dangerous drug should be taken off the market or at least labels adhered to the boxes of products containing this drug. This company and the pharmaceutical companies that make products containing diphenhydramine should be sued by anyone who has had these symptoms and have been hospitalized or by the family if the person died. The FDA has been warned and MedWatch said they would look into it, but nothing has happened, the drugs continues to be sold and does not have adequate warning labels.

I asked if he could assist me. He said no and he was busy and I had to come back. I was so angry that he would not stop to help a customer. I thought customers come first. So I got angry, said a few words and asked the complaint line. He gave me a Trotwood, Ohio store number for Family Dollar.

He said to talk with Lisa at the store location. She said she would forward to corporate. I asked how long it would take for someone to contact me. She said she did not know. I explained to her I will call until someone calls back so we hung up the phone. About 15 minutes later, I received call from a corporate head by the name of Chris he said his name was. It did not sound right when I explained what happened at the store. He did not seem to be sincere or sorry at all when apologizing. I believe it was Tommy (not sure). He called back just to say she got her call back. So I decided to go online to complain. I was not feeling well that day and for him not to help made me ever more upset.

I never had experienced anything like this before. Please address this with him and explain to him customers come first and he should have stopped to assist customer. I do customer service too but on the phone, not face to face but have dealt with customer face to face and I never said I could not help or I was busy and to wait. I felt I was very inconvenienced. She asked me if I could come the next day (Easter Sunday) and I explained to her that I could not come on Sunday but Monday I could. Well, I went in there today to retrieve my items. It was a male ahead of me with the same problem. She smiled and told him to get his things. Pam snatched my receipt and very rudely told me it was nothing she could do. She says come back the next day when the cashier came back. I refused to return again. So she pushes my receipt back in my hand and yelled go get your stuff.

By this time I’m trying to keep my cool. When I got the things I was missing, politely still, I asked her if there was anything to sign. She snatched my receipt and began yelling at me in front of a busy store. When I told her that I spend too much money in her establishment for her to be so rude to me, she shrugged it off. After she got her rocks off for treating me like a common criminal, I said to her that I wanted her district or corporate number, still being rude, “its right here.” I went back to my car to get my phone and my pen. When I came back in I told her to give me my receipt. She says, “I need it.” I said, “No you don’t because you can keep all of these things,” ($12.00 value) and that I will let her superiors handle the situation. Oh, now she wants to apologize, saying she is so sorry, etc. Good customer service is a key to a successful business!

On my way to work I decided to stop and do a little shopping. I frequent this store often as it is close to my job and my home. And I like the bargains. I had picked up several sale items and a few clearance items having about $20 or so in my hand. I happened upon this little babies dress that was marked at clearance for $1, so I took it to the counter with me along with one of a different price that I was looking for a different size (not available). As the casher was ringing up the items, I corrected him on one of the prices (the little dress). I explained to him that unless something had changed lately that the price marked is what he was to give it to me for.

The young man went to his manager while I waited. She returned (no name, I did ask for it at a later time, did not get it) to explain that it was not marked correctly. That she marked those items her self. I explained that it was stickered and that she should give it to me at that price. Her response to me was I will put it back before I give it to you for that price, you either take it for $5 or don't buy it. Then she explained how people change the tags all of the time, suggesting that I had changed or altered the tag. You could see that it was the original sticker and had not been altered in any way. (Orange clearance sticker). There were several clearance items through out the store and this was the only dress of its kind. I bought it for the $5 but I had no one in the store to assist me but her. After I ask for her name; she never gave it. She wrote a number and stated this is her corporate manager’s number. Being in a hurry and on the way to work, I started to dial the number given me. I was surprised that it was not even a valid number or complete.

The clearance price was not even the real issue, other than she should have honored the price marked. The real issue is that she was rude and caused me embarrassment by suggesting that I may have changed or altered the price of the Item. I really felt like leaving the entire purchase on the counter, but chose not to add to the problem of the issue and it was surely not the young man that was the problem. He was very polite and assisting. The store manager, on the hand, has serious people skill issues and should be retrained on how to deal with different counter issues. Now! My question is has the rules changed? Does the store have to honor the price marked on the item? I have not had many issues of this sort, but the few that I have had the item was sold as marked. Thank you for listening to my complaint and hopefully this will give the next customer a more pleasant visit.

I am normally not the type of person to complain. I work in customer service and know what a challenging job it is. But I can’t and will not over look this problem. On 11-22-09 I was in store # 5344 in Marianna Florida. At this particular store I encountered some of the rudest store clerks that I’ve ever met. The entire time I’m in the store shopping the clerks were carrying on a loud and what seemed to be a flirtation conversation with a man. At some point during my shopping my 4 year old autistic nephew needed to use the restroom. My husband politely asked one of the clerks where the bathroom was, she told him where it was located in the store. Upon arriving at the restroom the door was locked. My husband again had to track down a clerk because they were not at a register but out wondering around with the gentleman she was having a conversation with. My husband asked the clerk if the bathroom was out of order because the door was locked. She said no but that she didn’t have a key. Now at this point about 10 minutes have passed and my autistic nephew is in tears because he has to go to the bathroom. I go to check out (which I had to wait for a clerk because again there was no one at the register) My husband went back to the bathroom and was able to unlock the door himself using a car key. Toward the end of my checkout another clerk came up using a loud tone wanting to know how the man got in the bathroom. I told her I was unsure of how he done it. She replied by screaming at me and saying she could call the police for breaking in to a bathroom. I stood by the exit door to wait on my husband and nephew, when they walked out the restroom this same lady yelled at him in front of my autistic nephew. She was yelling wanting to know how he got in. I told my husband just to come on and get my nephew out of the store because of the hostile treatment we were receiving. By the time we got my nephew in the car he was in full blown tears from the way this lady was yelling at them. Once we got him in the car and somewhat calmed down, I went back in the store to get the managers name and number. I again get yelled at from the moment I walked thru the door. The clerk was screaming saying “what you want a number to complain” I said yes mam. She again yells and says “there, there it is, get it and call, just make sure you tell the truth. I wrote the number down and headed to my car. This clerk continued yelling as I was walking out the door. Now I work in customer service, I’m a manager and I know that this is no way to treat a paying customer. If one of my employees treated a customer the way that this lady treated me and my family, they would not have a job. This was an experience that could have been avoided had the clerks that were running this store been a little bit more concerned about their customers and doing their job in a professional manner. Something needs to be done about this. I had to take this child home to his mother and explain why he was so upset and why I allowed a woman to yell at him….

I am so livid I can barely think straight I have never had a problem before besides the staff at all of the stores I go to are very impersonal and not friendly in the least. I can't believe this. Something needs to be done.

Okay, this was the 30th of July when this happened. I went to the check stand after getting all the things. The computer got stuck and I had to wait so they told me to go to the other line. They then told me to go back. So, I took my $5.00 certificate and then she told me to but in my card I looked at the receipt and told her it was not taken off. She told me she was too busy to take care of it, to come back on Saturday she would take care of it. So in good faith, I left my apulation there before I left for work on the computer.

Okay on Saturday morning at 7:45, I was outside waiting to get in. It was 8:15 before they opened the store. I asked her about the refund but she told me she was too busy again. I paid for my things and have $5.00 gift certificate and more than $25 so I gave both to him. They took that off but I walked home but everything away noticed they charged me twice for paper towels, but I only got one. I went over again to talk with her. She told me that she could not give me any money back for the first day and she had to investigate the matter before she would give me anything, but she was too busy.

So, I went back home and waited two of my friends went with me. I asked her nicely about the matter. She told me again she did not have time. I told her I was not going to fight with her, and then I left the store with my friend. They told me she had no right to treat me in that way, they did not want to go back to that store again. She could be talked to about how she treats her customers. I will never go over to that store when she is there again.

We stopped at the Family Dollar to buy trash bags. We entered the store. Not familiar with the store, my husband went to the left and I went to the right, looking for trash bags. I spotted them on an end cap at the back side of the store. I proceeded to walk to the area where the bags were located. I started to walk between a section where Coke products were stored.

Next thing I knew, I was falling. My feet slipped out from under me. I hit the floor. I felt something sticky and wet. I looked at the floor, and it was covered with a sticky substance. It appeared to be some type of syrup. I yelled when I hit the floor. No one from the store even came to find out what was wrong. My spouse came running, and one customer offered to help me up.

My husband yelled for help. No one offered to call ambulance, police, or anything. They grabbed the mop bucket, cleaned the mess, took my name and address, and gave me a bag to cover my car seats. No questions if I was ok or anything. My right arm and right leg hurt. But other than that, all seems ok. I am a heart patient and on blood thinners.

Starting in March of this year, the store manager at the time would follow me around the store with a box cutter in her hand, while my 7-yr. old son who has special needs, was with me and every incident that would happen, no one will give me info to write a complaint. I was told by Randy, one of the supervisors, "that I didn't need to write a complaint, that he will take care of it", never did. I brought to his attention again, and again, the dates of the incidents. He told me, "The cameras weren't working, he can't see anything." Then I talked to Grey **, another supervisor. He said that the employees are allowed to walk around with box cutter in their hand because that's the only way, they can open the boxes.

And my point is, my child was in danger. I've been living in this area for 13 yrs., never had a problem like this before. I always use the store for my family needs. She followed my 7-yr. old son, and me from the back of the store to the front of the store where the cashiers are; no boxes, but the box cutter was still open, behind my son, me, and nothing was done about the continuous problems. She still works there with the same nasty attitude. Looking for a solution, thank you.

Children in the community are scared to go in the store. My son needs therapy; I'm scared to shop there whenever she is working, her and her clique (group of employees). I turn around and wait until they're not working because this store is right around the corner of my home. My family needs are being meet shopping at Family Dollar. I don't feel I have to travel across town because of someone's neglect.

Monday, June 22nd at approximately 11:00 am, I entered the Family Dollar on the corner of Firestone and 103rd St. in Jacksonville, Florida. As I walked in, I wished the cashier and another woman good morning, and then I proceeded to walk to the isle where the sanitary products are kept. Before reaching my destination the cashier asked "is that a backpack on your back?" Not hearing her clearly, I asked her what she had said. This time, and to my surprise the woman next to her said in a very rude and assertive tone "She said is that a backpack on your back?" I replied "Yes mam it is." She then said that I would have to give her my pack to hold or leave the store. I then explained to her that I just returned from a doctor’s appointment. I had prescription drugs in my pack and would not feel comfortable with leaving it with her. If something were to happen, I could get in a lot of trouble. She then replied "I don’t give a ** what's in your bag, you either give it to me or you get the hell out of my store. After hearing this and being insulted by her, I said " you can kiss my **, I will take my business to another store.

As I proceeded to walk out of the store, she started screaming at me saying "** you ya stupid white **!" I was so shocked by what she said I didn’t know how to respond. After she finished her racial slurs, I asked her for her name and position, however, she would not give it to me. She would just give me the finger and insult my race. After being insulted by this employee, who would not give me her name, I went to my Jeep and called the corporate office. When she saw me on the phone, she came outside and started up again, flipping the middle finger at me and again calling me a white **. I asked her again for her name and she told me to come back in the store and she would write it down for me. She then walked back in the Family Dollar giving me the middle finger through the window like a twelve year old.

Throughout all the commotion, a police officer pulled up next to my Jeep and asked me what was going on. I explained the entire story to him and asked if he could get her name so that I could file a customer complaint against her. The officer approached the Family Dollar and was met by the cashier outside the building, not the woman causing the problem. After speaking with the cashier for about 30 seconds, the officer came back to my Jeep and said “The woman’s name is ** and she is the general manager," unbelievable!

If the Family Dollar hires this type of racist individual to run their store, I think it is time for them to reconsider their interviewing process. This experience has shaken me to the bone and I will never shop at any of their stores again! When I was outside, I looked for any signs that may have been posted saying backpacks were not permitted in this store. There were none. If you are going to refuse entry or service to any person wearing a backpack it should be posted for all to see. It should not be used as a tool for someone to discriminate. Disgusting! ** needs some customer service classes, better yet a new job!

I feel like that I was targeted because of my race. As the conflict escalated, it became very apparent that she did not like Caucasians. I am now weary of where I go and I am limited as to what stores I go to. This was extremely insulting and made me feel like less of a person. I looked outside the store to see if there were any signs posted about wearing a backpack in the store. There were none!

I have been shopping at Family Dollar for over 3 years now at store # 5379 and recently was an employee of Family Dollar for the Christmas season. I became very friendly and comfortable with the staff and the location was convenient for me to shop.

This Tuesday, 6/16, I had an experience that was none to say the least, terrible. I went into store # 5379 to purchase toilet paper. I arrived at the register and had $7 exactly. I handed the money over to the man behind the register and for some strange reason or another; he looked lost as if he didn’t know what he was doing. Having said that, he types in $7 and there was a balance of $.04 remaining for me to pay. So, I searched in my purse and unfortunately, I couldn’t find any change. I told him, I didn’t have it and he replied “What do you want me to do? I can’t do anything for you”.

I then asked him to get his manager and he stated that he was the manager. I told him "What, are you kidding me, what kind of management is this." He then replied back “Who are you to tell me what type of manager I am. I am very well educated. How dare you talk to me with disrespect?” I stood in shock. I am sure that this company is not that bad in the slums for four cents.

Well, none to say the least, another gentleman was so considerate and offered ten cents for me to pay for the balance. The man at the register took the ten cents, then he dropped the difference from the change, along with the receipt on the counter and stepped back waiting for me to move from the counter. I told him to keep the change just in case someone else might just come up short and you would not believe what he replied with. He replied “You keep the change since you probably will need it!” I am shocked as to how he handled himself. The way he handled himself was very unprofessional and not educated at all!

I asked him to give me his name, the name of the district manager and phone number to contact him at, as I will be reporting this situation. His handwriting was illegible and if I didn’t ask for his name, I probably wouldn’t know it either. (I already knew who to contact and how to go about making reports as I have been in management for many years. I wanted to see how he would be reacting, and what a reaction he gave to me! Don’t forget, I was a former employee and I have the phone number to contact.)

I would have never treated any consumer in that manner or any manner that was inappropriate or misrepresented myself and the company. I hope that action will be taken behind this situation and treated with utmost importance!

I enjoy shopping at store# 5379 but will feel very uncomfortable going in there because of the way that I have been treated as a consumer, especially by claims of a manager. I work very hard for my pay and would like to give my money to businesses that would treat me with importance too! I am going to report this to the Better Business Bureau as well as Consumer Relations regarding the way I have been treated.

I also have further information regarding this situation and hope that this will help. The man that claims to have been the manager stated his name was Mr. ** and this situation occurred on Tuesday 6/16 at 18:36:48pm. ID#** at register # ** is on the receipt. Thank you in advance for your response to this matter.

No economic or physical damage occurred, however, my experience with this company made me think about shopping at this store again. I would rather take my money where I will be talked to in a more professional manner.

I was informed that items need to be returned within 30 days, this was news to me. This information is not posted anywhere visible in the store or on my receipt. I told the manager I didn't want the lamp because it leans to one side and that is a fire hazard. I have an 18-month old baby and that would not accommodate my household. The manager advised me that that was all she could do for me. I left the receipt and the item in the store stating I didn't want it. Where I reside, there is limited shopping stores. I have sent this month at the store over $130.00. I have utilized this store for my family of four every month for our needs to be meant for two years. I have witnessed many of Family Dollars' customers to drop trash right there on the sidewalk after not being able to find a trash can outside.

Whatever the rationale for removing the outside trash can was, it is inadequate. This is contributing to trashing out the neighborhood when we are doing our best to keep the community clean. We need your help, I encourage corporate to install the outside trash can back into its proper place.

Detroit, Michigan Family Dollar store - On March 26, 2009, I attempted to return a defective fleece blanket that I bought a few weeks earlier. I brought in the wrong Family Dollar receipt and was willing to receive store credit because I had planned on buying some things too. To make long story short and this is a condensed version because I was involved in this standoff for two and one half (2 1/2) hours, I was questioned and doubted like a terrorist spy over $15.00. Can you go get the receipt? Where is the packaging? How do I know it's less than 30 days? Try another Family dollar. Come back tomorrow and see the day shift manager. Every excuse in the book not to give me my refund or a store credit, which I was due; thus, the stores posted return policy that she pointed out to me.

I was well-groomed and respectable. Did I look like a rouge? No. The manager would not budge even when she realized she was wrong. As I was leaving, the 21-year-old, female manager (Cotlee **) yelled out to me a; 49 year old woman with a child her age, some foolishness and "And don't come back here." I went home, found my receipt and checked the date. It was day 30. I went back to the store, stood in line and when the cashier Mark saw me, he began laughing and pointing. He told me straight out that I had to go to another Family Dollar because he doesn't have to help me. When informed of the law (second time), he said the blanket was dirty and made rude comments about times must be hard. He said that I was selling my household goods to get a dollar. He had a store full of customers laughing at me.

The manager, Cotlee **, took the receipt that Mark threw back onto my package; saw it to be valid and said she would do the refund. But of course, after she waited on 5-7 other customers. As I stood waiting and waiting, Mark kept talking, taunting, and harassing me. He was talking loud, insinuating that I was in need of money; that returning the item was an act of desperation for money and that the request for a refund was a shameful act, etc. Two late teen males who made their purchase and left out, came back into the store to continue the laughter and jokes. They got to me and I messed up. I told them what I did for a living (proof of not being needy). They did not believe me and wanted proof.

I felt and told them that I should not have to prove my profession to get proper treatment and respect, so I didn't show my proof. But they believed when the police arrived. I went outside with the lieutenant and he got the info for an incident report. You know, they still did not give me my refund and I could only get through to a third party complaint center. But I will try and try again. I will keep hope alive! If you know of a lawyer in or around Detroit, MI, please help me out.

Family Dollar mailed an advertisement in my mail on 3/31/09. The ad stated that if you spend $25 or more the coupon allows you $5 off your purchase. So I went to my nearest store in my neighborhood the one that I usually visit at least once or twice a week - store #5372. After purchasing $31.75 I presented the coupon to the cashier. She looked at the coupon and shook her head, no, no, no. Right away I could detect her spanish accent. I asked her what was wrong, i sayed the coupon is self explantory in plain english. She must have taken offensive when i sayed that statement. She then called the manager to the register. She then begin to talk to the hispanic couple behind me in spanish. Their conversation continued in spanish about 2 minutes until the manager came up to the register. I have been living here in Mia Gardens for 48 yrs, and have taken spanish and I do know a little of their language. Her mannerism and attitude lead me to believe that her conversation was not a casual conversation but for 2 minutes she spoke only spanish about me, only my preception after dealing w/hispanics in Miami and experencing what most of them do when they think they are right and you are wrong. They only speak in spanish believing you can't understand them. When the manager came to the register he looked at the coupon and then called someone else on how to deduct the $5. When he inserted the coupon to take off the $5, i stated that the good managers should inform their workers of any specials and how to perform them so they don't waste the customers time. He told me that he was the manager, and he just arrive at work. I proceed to tell him that a good manager informs their worker of special or whatever is important before the empoyees start their shift. It took offense at may statement right away. Apparently he nor the cashier had any knowledge about the special you all were advertising. He proceeded to tell me with an attitude so what I am a bad manager, i repeated what i had sayed earlier that a good manager would know exactly what's going on in their store. He immedicately cut my conversation short and told me to be quiet because I had already spoken. I was outraged but continue to repeat what I had sayed. The bottom line is I am complaining about both the manager and cashier unprofessionalism with dealing with the public. I was not loud or disrespectful i even aplogize. He had no right telling me to be quite. I spend a lot of money in FD at different locations. Please address this matter with these two employees. Maybe someone could review the tapes. I did not get their names because I left there hot as hell. But, right away I knew that I was going to call or e-mail your company b/c this was down right unprofessional and if they have too treat their customers in this manner they should be working in stock where they have no conact with customers. Thank you for your cooperation concerning this matter. I visited Store 5372, at 6:13pm.

On 1-04-2009, I went to the Family Dollar Store in Betsy Layne, Kentucky. As I was there, I almost left the store due to the way that there was not help at all in the store. When I went to check out…there was a young girl that was in front of me in the line. She was having a hard time counting her money, which I really felt sorry for her. The cashier looked up at all of us in line and rolled her eyes, which then I was so upset, for the simple fact that she should have not done that to that young girl...Then when it was my time to check out, I had a credit card, not knowing that they only took debit. First, there was no sign anywhere. All I seen was the VISA logo.

I slide my card down the machine, only to watch the worker looking at the crowd of people and just rolling her eyes. Then after about me doing 3 times, I looked at her and said it's asking for a PIN. I don’t have one, this is VISA. She then let me know that they only take debit, which was fine, but it's the way that she was acting. It's like I could not get her to help me at all...then when I was telling her to take an item off, cause I only had a little cash on me, she then screams in the store for the other worker to bring her a key...saying this girl don’t have enough money…which I thought, oh my what is this lady doing?

Then when the girls comes I explain to her that I have money, that I only had that amount on me, cause I did not know that they did not take credit…then the worker then tells me that if they had put up a sign saying only debit that people would not read it...I'm sure that is not true. I for one would have read it and I really think that the worker is not a friendly person. If she is just having a bad day, she should have not been there more than anything. The way that she treated the young girl makes me mad more than anything...I have looked for a website to report to the Family Dollar...could not find one but you all, I will also be calling the store tomorrow and reporting it to the manager...

Here is a little information off of the receipt if this might help to find out more about the store and the worker: Family Dollar Stores. P.O. Box 27/10824 H. Betsy Layne, KY 41605-0027. I had the same experience as Adam did. Upon entering the store it only took me two seconds to reach aisle 1 and I overheard the security guard screaming a few times, Hey, hey. (Bag check I suppose. Though I had my MP3 player on, I still heard and chose to ignore him/her because I knew what I wanted and didn't see any reason to take off my bag for an item a few inches away from me.)
To my surprise the product's placement was moved so I scanned the aisles to find it. This brought me back up front to where the product was now displayed; to the right of the cash register. By this time, the manager had approached me and said I had to place my knapsack; which was fully secured on me with both straps on both arms, up front. I smiled and said o.k. yet ignored him as well. I saw what I wanted, grabbed it off the shelf, and went to the cashier. He stood there watching me as if I were some vagrant and the cashier looked at him to see if she should go ahead and ring me up. I took the opportunity to tell the manager that the dynamic of a paying customer entering the store without being properly greeted and being told, I don't trust you but I want you to trust me with your personal belongings placed on the floor up front where anyone can grab them and take off, doesn't work for me. I finished up by telling him that I am a good person and shouldn't have to succumb to the excessive policing of human beings in this society and that I refuse to pay the price for a few people who shoplift. He then said sarcastically with quotes, Yeah, everybody's a good person. He went on to say they had camera's around the store. I responded my case in point and additionally they had a security guard so what was the purpose of having to remove my bag??? I didn't go to Family Dollar with the intent to disrespect,if that is how they saw it, yet I recall the state of being I try to live by and that comes from Gandhi, Be the change you wish to see, and that change is not allowing anyone to treat me less than what my reasonable standards call for. If they had a standard bag check with cubicles, tickets, and a person monitoring the bags I probably would've adhered. Even then, what's funny about those set ups is they have a sign that says Not responsible for lost or stolen items, LOL.

I shop in this store at least once a week. This cashier has got to be the most unhappy woman I have ever encountered. She never speaks to a customer, always looks so sad or unhappy, etc. I bought some folders this morning which were priced at 4/$1.00. She rang them up at .65 each. I told her what they should be so she looked at me like I had grown a second head and then stormed off to go check the price. Upon returning, she then had to cancel the first charge and ring them up correctly. I left after saying, "thank you and have a nice day." I'm glad I didn't expect a thank you from her because I definitely didn't get one.

Items in the store were marked down 40%, that price was on the item. There was a sign on front door and above the rack in which clothes were stating take an additional 50% off. When I got up to cash register it was ringing up the price for 40% off I told Rosefor(??she wrote her name down for me) that the sign stated 50% off already marked down and she stated the price on it was the mark down.

I asked for the manager but she was not there. I called by about 1:30 and was told manager was at the bank. I called at 2:30 and was told manager was gone for the day and wouldn't be back until the next day. I was also given the name Sharon (clerk wrote the name down) for the manager's name but when I called the lady answered phone(didn't identify herself) stated the manager name was Shannon. When I asked if I could have the district number I was told that I would have to call back because she had another line coming in and she had to answer.

an example was the price of one item was $8.99 X 40% = $3.60--the item was marked $5.49 that is what she was charging not taking additional 50% off.

I bought a bottle of Gain laundry detergent. When I arrived home and unloaded my bags I noticed the jar was a little light.I opened it and it was half empty, I went back to the store to exchange it, with reciept in hand. The store manager refused to exchange it. And accused me of going home and pouring out half the bottle. I told her I paid for a new bottle and was going to get it.

She called me a thief and called security and he pushed me when I tried to leave with my Gain,I pointed out to her that the employee who rung me up did not bag my purchaces so would not know if the bottle was half empty. I mean she asked him was my Gain half empty and he shrugged and then said NO! I wonder if they open each bottle before everyone buying Gain walks out the door?, I highly doubt it.(note: Niether the Guard or Store Mngr. NEVER looked at my reciept!) It had only been 20 min since I left the store.

This incedent caused me to have an Anxiety Attack and break my emotional and mental state completely.I had just spent over $75.00 in the Family Dollar store as I do every 3 weeks to stock up on all my family needs.I still have half the bottle of Gain I refuse to use it but keep it as a reminder to always check my items before I get checked out! Upset to the extent that I will NEVER shop at Family Dollar as long as I live and will tell all my friends and family to do the same. I bought detergent from Walgreen's seeing that I would not have enough Detergent for my laundry.

I started using Family Dollar Pre-Brush Whitenening Rinse to try to whiten my teeth. After a few rinses I started having a white stringy type film come out of my mouth. I was not sure what it was. I had bathed a white cat earlier in the day and thought maybe it was cat hair that got in my mouth. My symptoms became worse and I thought maybe it was this mouthwash. I asked my husband if he tried this product and he said yes but he did not like it so he stopped using it. I asked him why he stopped using it and he said because of the stringy white stuff that came out of his mouth.

I called my friend who also used this product and she said the same thing was happening about the white stringy film that came out of her mouth but she was not sure if this was supposed to do this or not.

I kept using it since my friend seemed to think it was okay. I then started to get a feeling like there was fuzz or hair in the back of my tongue/throat.

I called my doctor and made an appointment. She said it looked like hairy black tongue. I never heard of such a thing. She said it is caused by yeast. She told me to brush my tongue. I started to do this and things started to get worse. My throat felt like it was on fire and that I was swallowing razor blades. I called my doctor again and she thought it was acid reflux. I started to take over the counter Pepcid. That did not help so I bought another a stronger brand of antacid. This still did not help, I was suffering really bad. I could not eat or swallow my medication. I am supposed to have bladder surgery in August.

I called my doctor back again and told her it was worse and that it was not only painful and hard to swallow but it felt like there was something caught in the back of my throat. She called in a prescription for Nexium. This did not help at all, meanwhile a week and several days went by so my doctor had me call an ear nose and throat doctor which I did and got an appointment. He scoped my mouth and down my throat and said it looked like Oral Thrush which is a yeast infection. He prescribed me more medication which is finally starting to help me some. I am still very miserable not to mention my voice is very hoarse. This problem started after using this whitening mouthwash. My husband said that the proxide in the mouthwash probably stripped all of the good bacteria in my mouth and throat opening me up to get this terrible infection and horrible ulcers in my mouth and throat.

I told him that legally he was forced to give me the advertised price, and he started to make fun of me saying that even if I bring a lawyer he won't give me the price because it was his store. I have a major problem with the employees at the Family Dollar store on Broadway ave here in Lorain. They are very rude, and inconsiderate, they play loud rap music with vulgar words and are very very unprofessional in their apperance and the way they run your store, i am sorry that unemployable fools like the 2 african american women that were there today Feb 1 2007 at about 5:30 pm.

They are very poor people , people they need to be fired or your store may lose alot of business, you really need to send someone there that is at the very least considerate of the patrons that frequent your establishment. There were also a handful of kids in your store bothering and pushing guests, jumping on their shopping carts demanding a dollar to use the cart. I believe that they were the children of the 2 employees that were there.

I honestly, think something needs to be done immediately. if nothing is done i will contact the B. B. B. and see about getting that store shut down, i do not mean to degrade your store, but the employees need to be fired or reprimanded immediately, they are costing you money. I am not normally a snitch, but, their unprofessionalism and rudeness needs to be addressed.
