So shopping at Burlington’s today and I was purchasing some things and I didn’t realize it was damaged till I got upfront. They were real busy. The young gentleman says hey might be able to give you a discount they want to give me a four dollar discount which a whole piece of the wood was cracked all the way down and a chunk took out of it and I was like no not really that ain’t worth it so when the girl that was doing the four dollar discount looked at it. She was like, "Oh I thought it was a little scratch, but yeah that’s pretty big. Let me see if I can get a better discount for you." I was like, "Oh OK," so she went over to some young girl, they’re both were ** and then they started talking in Spanish, and I did say you can speak English and a little girl at the register which that girl was super nice.
Neither one of them were really rude. Well, the one didn’t say anything, but she was like she didn’t say nothing bad. I said that’s not the point. I’m the customer talk to me. In English that’s fine. I don’t care if I get the discount or not if it’s not big enough, I’m not gonna buy it so what going on about my business but when you’re talking to someone and you know that person don’t speak Spanish or you’re assuming everybody else and I was talking English so why did y’all talk Spanish? What did y’all say? What was the real reason? Was y’all talking about me? Were y’all being racist? What, what, what was the deal but when I called back up there, it was her the answer the phone she says I was there.
We didn’t say it’s not about what you said whether it was good or bad is the point speak English. I’m a English speaking customer. I am native American. I’m not talking in my tongue so you can understand me, but then you wanna go and talk in your tongue and be disrespectful about it then the little girl hung up on me and that’s why I called corporate and I won’t let this go. I think that young lady owes me an apology simple as that and if it’s been the other way around, everybody be holler racism on this one, but it’s not about race. It’s about the respect for me.
Respect me enough that when I am a customer and I’m sitting here fixing to make it very nice something to purchase that whatever you said that that girl that tried to give me the bigger discount why couldn’t you say it to me? Why wouldn’t you say it to me? Was you not lady enough to say it to me or was it something nasty about me I mean what so this is where my frustration is it has nothing to do with the discount. It’s called respect and speak to someone in their language.

Terrible experience, coats all over the floor with people walking on them. I spent 20 minutes just placing them back on hangers and hanging on the rack. Selection consist of puffer jackets. The floors were filthy. The cashiers were slower than turtles and in no hurry to take next customer. The customers waited for an hour or more. Worse shopping experience ever.

I bought a bottle of perfume for $20. When I got home, I sprayed the perfume on me. When you first spray it, there's the scent of something like alcohol with a hint of the perfume. THEN THERE'S NOTHING. I'm familiar with the sent because I've bought it a few times, in the past from stores like T.J. Maxx. However, this must have been a defective bottle because there was no perfume sent. I sprayed it on myself and I smelled nothing.
I asked somebody in my house. Do you smell anything and they say no what? So I took it back and I explained to what I believe was the frontend manager. She sprayed it on the Cap, she got a whiff of that sweet scent and then told me that because it's open she couldn't take it back. I said to her do you smell anything in the ear? She ignore me and just took care of another customer as if I wasn't standing there. There is no other store with that type of return policy, and of course she was real nasty. I sent an email to corporate and they sent back their return policy.
I don't know why any anybody works there or shops there anymore. The one here in Concord, NC is The present to walk into. I was only in there that day because somebody bought me something from there and I was doing an exchange. Otherwise, I don't shop there. BUYER BEWARE... The Burlington people don't care about go to customer experience and I don't think consumers should care about them either.

Store on Lorain Rd needs to close. I waited in line literally for 1 1/2 hours. The "MANAGER" was in the store, walked up to the only cashier, saw the line and left for the night. I believe her name was Stephanie. She needs fired. A 2 yr old could manage the store better. What kind of manager walks out on Friday night with the store packed and abandons the sole cashier? A horribly incompetent manager.

Purchased a $20 bottle of cologne from Burlington got it home opened it up and there was an itemizer but no stem inside the bottle and it was leaking. Tried to return it and the manager would not let me exchange it or refund because he said it was opened. How was I supposed to know it not useable until I opened it. I called corporate to ask why and was told it is manager's discretion. So you will lose a long time customer over $20. It’s really not the money the return policy and the customer service is terrible. Never shopping there again ever. The lines are always too long anyway. College Park Ga store off Old National Hwy.

We went to a recently opened store in Lincoln Nebraska. We bought 2 items and stood in line for 45 minutes. The line snaked into 3 1/2 aisles. There were only 2 out of 7 check stands open. The one of the 2 was having problems, so they shut that down. We counted about 75 people standing in line. One employee was standing behind the counter, but just hanging some items on hangers, not helping to check. No other employees were in sight. While I was in line, I tried calling the store 2 times, but it just continued to ring, and then dropped my call. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, AND WILL WARN OTHERS ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE.

The receipt does not say a credit is to apply to my card. Where is my change/ if I called to Burlington to see what was my balance as for that day, to learn full balance was $115.49? Started out good. Store is a little disorganized. Went to check out, cashier was rude. Apparently there is red sign across the aisle from the regisiter (NOT VISIBLE AS IT IS ACROSS THE AISLE FROM THE REGISTER LINE AND YOU DON'T NOTICE IT UNTIL THE RUDE CASHIER POINTS IT OUT) says to stand 20 feet from the customer in front of you. Not knowing about the sign the Rude cashier said "Ma'am can you back up to the end of the aisle." Asked her why and that is when she said "Because we don't want you all over the customers. There is a sign back there." OK, I get it. It's her approach that is very off putting.
I am a customer as well. And...your sign is not noticeable. Then she had the nerve to come around the check stand I was checking out at and get all up in my space and said "Excuse me." I said sure and backed up so she could pass. I wanted to tell her to read your damn sign and get off of me! I didn't. I finished my purchase, Thanked the cashier I was dealing with and left. I will tell you that after reading your reviews, it seems as if this is the normal attitude at your store. It does also seem like you in management fail to correct it also. I will never shop at your store in Killeen again. And just my opinion...your sign is stupid.

Each chair I pull out to check, this security will grab them and proceed to say it's the store policies. Burlington make this make sense. I can try on clothes in the store fitting room however I must purchase furniture without sitting on them. This same security above interrogate customer before letting her use the ladies' room. My account had a zero balance. Unaware it obtained a late fee because it was paid after 5 pm online, but before midnight. I called checking my account's balance while on vacation. To my surprise I had a $29 balance. I paid it, however again before midnight on the due date, oblivious of the 5 pm phone or online cutoff time not stated anywhere on there bill. So I obtained another $29 late fee. That’s when it dawned on me these weren’t expenses I own but possibly fees for what? Unpon opening the second late fee, I called the Burlington who informed me, of a 3rd $29 late fee. Now $3 late fee for a zero balance, paid online on the due date before midnight.
According to Burlington/chase, their cut off is 5pm mail, online or phone and you must pay the fee. However it is not stated so, anywhere on the bill. Am still paper billing. It says MAIL before 5pm. I pay online before midnight, but applies the payment as next day because it’s after 5pm. Is this legal? When it Comes to Synchrony bill, it clearly states all options and time. See below. After deliberation, they offered a one time reduction of $15. So a customer pays $72 in fees for a zero balance, that the company definitely did not clearly state via paper billing that online and phone times are just the same.
I sincerely do believe they owe thousands of people for their inaccuracies. Clearly a litigation matter from my point of view. It’s even more painful when you pay your account in full trying to be a good consumer. Unaware customer due to not stated via mailing billing. I will definitely be sticking with synchrony. They have earned my business for transparency and honesty. I’ll be cutting up Burlington credit card for sure.

If I could I would give it no stars. I have been here 3 times and all 3 times the staff look and act miserable. They check people out in turtle speed. The manager should be fired just standing there and fixing hangers that have nothing on them instead of opening a register to help with the line that is all the way to the women’s clothes. This has happened on 3 occasions and I would never recommend anyone to go here. Then let me talk about security, they stand by the entrance and have the alarm go off when nobody is walking in or out. What a shame on the management. That is what it comes down to in the end, if you don’t like your job or don’t know how I am sure they can find better. The store is beyond dirty!

Whatever you do, DON'T do a layaway here! TOTAL RIPOFF!! They REFUSED to refund my purchase when the coat I purchased for my 87 year old handicapped aunt for her birthday didn't fit her. Due to her handicap, she couldn't shop with me, so I had to guess on the size. The layaway was only 2 days completed and 14 days in layaway, WELL UNDER the 30 days of their normal return policy. I would have just bought it and returned within the 30 days if the sales clerk would have informed me when I EXPLICITLY asked for ALL of the policies BEFORE agreeing to go ahead and do the layaway. AND, on top of that, paid an extra $5 for this supposed "privilege."
This is a completely underhanded method of stealing customer's money! In 2+ years relocated here in Boardman, Ohio, I have easily spent THOUSANDS of dollars in this store to outfit my new home. At this point, I will NEVER return to this store for anything EVER AGAIN! I was an excellent customer who had spent loads of money with them, and in return for my patronage, they are too CHEAP to return a measly 70 bucks for a gift that didn't fit a handicapped person who cannot shop for herself. Updated on 01/17/2023: On December 10, 2022, I went to the Winter Garden Burlington store and made a purchase for some pants. The next day I brought back 2 pants which the sales agent made a mistake and instead of a refund made 2 even exchanges. I sent the receipts to Stephanie, the phone manager for customer service who is the supposed phone manager for customer service, the receipts.
It's been a month and still no proper answer then I get a call from Donna who is the store manager for the Dillard location on 1/16/2022. She called me very rudely and I want her call pulled (around 4:30 pm EST). She called me on the 16th of January stating she was authorized by Stephanie to refund me for 1 pant. I advised her the sales agent messed up and even sent Stephanie the receipt for the re-purchase from me to show it was not an even exchange.
Today, (1/17/2023) I went to the store to collect my money which was okayed by Stephanie. The rude manager Donna was present and denied me the $20.00 and said she was only authorized to give me $9.00. She talked over me and got loud with me in the store and on the phone. She even told me in the store she can pull the cameras to see what I bought. I want someone to pull the cameras and see this was not an even exchange...I want a corporate manager to call me. She claimed called me several times, but I have not gotten any messages from Donna. I will not buy from Burlington again and they can see I spend hundreds in those days of receipts. I am done with this store who will not refund me what I am owed and will not correct their associate's mistake at the Daniels Road store in Winter Garden Florida. They stole my money and I am never going to buy back from them again. I am taking it to the state attorney and the BBB as well....Just for the matter they have managers who do not return your call and for $20.00 they take forever to run a case. Burlington, Hawthorne, CA. I had the most horrifying shopping experience of my life at this Burlington Store at Hawthorne. On September 28, 2022 at 9:30 AM. I went to this Burlington store. As I was walking towards the store from the parking lot, I ran into a mall security person and I said to him that the sign in front of the store says that it should be open by 9am, but I was here yesterday at 9:20am with few other customers and it was still not open; so I hope they are open by now since it was already 9:30am. The security person actually replied and said that they always open late and he does not know why. I walked into the store and informed one of the floor staff that I was here yesterday at about 9:20am but the store was not open even though the sign says that they open at 9am. She did not say much but she did reply and said “oh, it was yesterday”.
I started to look at some men’s clothing. After 5 minutes, the same floor staff came to me and said, “The store manager asked you to leave now.” I asked her why but she said she does not know. I then walked out of the store. This store needs a new manager! She asked me to leave without any reason! It was extremely disrespectful and insulting! She was getting a stare down by two employees so bad that I asked them what was wrong. They stated that my mother coughing was what they was looking at. They made my mom so uncomfortable that my mom went ahead and went to the car while I finished my shopping. By the time I got to the cashier's they were speaking to the cops. They stated that they called the cops for a wellness check. So embarrassing. A thief would of gotten better service than my mom did that day. The cops even looked puzzled and stated there was no reason for this call. Never in my life have I ever thought a store would call the cops over someone coughing.

Everything they speak and say sounds like they are in a hurry. The English language option is spoken faster. They were not very helpful so I decided to just cancel the card. For the review that was sent to my email, they said how good is Karla but in reality, I call three people the same day, they all three bad especially the last one I called.

I politely asked for cash because it was returned within 30 days and I had my receipt. She called another associate for assistance. Olivia came to the register and rudely said "what is the problem?" I explained I wanted a cash return rather than a store credit. She sighed and walked to a different register. She rudely threw the money at me. I picked it up and counted it, to make sure it was the correct amount. I asked if she knew how to correctly count money. She said "you should not even be getting cash back." Proceeding to tell me the manager told her to give me cash.
I asked why I should not get cash back. "It has probably been over 30 days." I told her it was less than a week that I purchased the dresses. I asked to speak with a manager, and she refused to call for one. I asked again. She called her manager and said "She is on lunch and can not come." I think this company's policy of not reissuing an expired rewards is very fraudulent. I signed up for paperless statements and thereafter I was not receiving any more statements. I kept asking in store about my rewards and also called Comenity Bank to enquire on the status of rewards, because I was concerned that I had spent a significant amount of money and no reward was forthcoming. On 11/25 I was informed by a rep. from Comenity Bank that a reward of $20 was mailed to me.
With no reward in sight I transmitted another call today, only to be told that based on my going paperless, rewards were no longer issued by mail. I explained both to Comenity and Burlington reps that I should not be held accountable, since I was not aware of this change until today, However after approximately two hours on the phone no ONE could assist me. I eventually was told to log on to the website, where to my surprise I had two expired rewards ($20 and $5). All I am told is that it is the company's policy not to reissue any expired rewards.
I am enrolled in paperless for Victoria Secret, Belk, JCP, Macy's, Staples etc. I still get their rewards in the mail. I tried un-relentlessly to have my rewards reinstated but to no avail. Ironically the representative from Comenity Bank was able to immediately reissue my Victoria Secret reward which I lost, however he informed me that Burlington has not authorized them to issue replacement rewards coupons. I then called Burlington directly and was told by "the manager" that this is their policy. Very shady practice. I am seriously considering boycotting this store for the time being. She refused, and her associate who was next to her pulled her mask down under her chin and pressed her face up to the glass yelling that they didn't have to do what I asked and no one can tell them what to do. I politely again restated that I have immune issues and would appreciate if they would wear a mask properly so I could check out my (Over 100$) purchase.
A manager came up and explained that it was hot and that some of them didn't have to wear a mask. And I explained to her my concerns. She allowed the employee who had pressed her face to the glass and yelled at me to glare at me, despite me being polite. Masks should be required for a cashier. Then they decided I could ship the merchandise back and, after they received it, in about 10 days they would issue a credit and I could buy something else online. Then I would pay shipping again and, after that they would try to refund the shipping for the 2nd time, not the 1st time. Finally I did return the merchandise to the store to save the hassle and 2 weeks to return it by mail and get a refund from that - and the store would not do anything about the shipping charges I paid for incorrect merchandise. So, I used the gift card from the store to order more stuff online, had to pay shipping again, and now hoping to get a refund for the 2nd shipping charges. My mother and I go shopping frequently in Sioux Falls, SD, and one day, we decided to go to Burlington to see what clothes they had and all that. We get there, and then first thing we see is shopping carts stranded in the parking lot areas, and some taking up valuable spacing. A little frustrated, we moved some and was able to get a fairly close spot to the store. We walk in and we see lots of clothing, and since it was Christmas at the time, we were greeted with lots of holiday decorations. It was nice, until we started to walk farther in. First of all, there were clothes everywhere but the racks. Most were either hanging on one side of the hanger or on the floor, which clearly was a little unsanitary. Second, we could see darker clothes that had deodorant stains on them or weird blotches on them, which disgusted me to know that they either don't seem to care about their clothes, or are just too lazy to clean the clothes up.
Third, by the makeup area, over half of the boxes containing items were opened and not put back to their original spot, some had missing items, and lots were in the wrong place. Fourth, the shoe area had lots of problems. Many were strawed out everywhere but the racks, and had stuffing that they put in the shoes everywhere. Everything seemed unorganized and I got anxiety just by looking at some things. Fifth, the employees were not very helpful and either couldn't understand what I was trying to ask, or replied in a rude way, like "I don't know. Just look around and maybe you'll find it." Someone actually said that to me, which kind of hurt. Stores, especially Burlington, are supposed to be friendly, clean, and welcoming to people everywhere. What I saw in Burlington that time was the exact opposite.
Then, my friend and I went back a few weeks ago to see if anything had changed. We walked in, and everything was the exact same way. Clothes everywhere. Boxes of items missing. Even their changing rooms were very unsanitary. My friend and I started to film a little bit of what we were looking at, but ended up getting kicked out by the manager working there. I would not recommend going to a Burlington store, unless you want to experience everything yourself.

Saw a coat in the store and the price online was 7 dollars more than the price in the store, they just didn't have it in my size. Called customer service, who was completely useless, seems like their favorite phrases, they can't help you, no or unfortunately not understanding how you can't price match your own product. The customer service is just completely useless. I received my coat on the 2nd then noticed that it was on clearance on the 7th. When I called to try and get the difference, I was told I could not because it was already shipped. Don't know why it's called customer service when they are not servicing the customer at all, completely useless.

When I went through the line and paid they never said you cannot take the cart out of the store or I would have never bought anything. But when I went to leave a rude employee said, "You cannot take the cart out." I ask how I was to get everything to my car with a baby. She said, "Not my problem." Never offered to help. Will never shop there again.

I went to the store at the El Con Mall in Tucson. I must say how disenchanted I was with this store. Nothing is organized. They have sections for different types of products such as beauty, clothes, shoes, etc., but everything is thrown in together. You go to the beauty section and you will have some of the lotions here, some on the next set of shelves and again on a different set of shelves. But there are also things for feet, makeup and every other beauty product in the same darned place. If you look at the clothes and shoes, it may say one size, but most of the things in that section are the wrong size. I went to check out and found an open cash register. The woman (cashier) completely ignored me and called the next person in line and the man (cashier) that was at one of the other registers said, "Ma'am, the line is back there."
I thanked him and went back to see where the line was (there was nothing that said that this is the checkout line) and found about 20 people standing there with carts full of stuff. I had two items that I wanted to purchase. At this time of year, there should be more than 4 registers open. I put my stuff on a table and walked out the door. The man was certainly surprised when I did so. Nothing about this store impressed me. Their prices were high for the quality of the products and the aisles were so tight that only one person could fit through at a time. This was the first and last time that I will EVER go back to any Burlington. I will go to Ross any time. Their stuff is organized, their staff is polite, and their prices are excellent.

I purchased a coat on Tuesday. Took the tags off Wednesday morning, got in the car, saw it was completely unraveling by the time I got to work!! The coat unraveled along the seam within less than 1 day!! I paid an amazing price, but the cashier told me I couldn’t exchange the coat because it had been worn. A $90 coat with no quality guarantee. The entire seam just kept unraveling!! No wear and tear, was only worn on my way to work...in my car. Guess I have to learn how to sew when I purchase from this store!! The return/exchange policy basically means you have to just “know” you purchased a faulty product before you realize it’s poor quality... Where is the Satisfaction guarantee?

While they are not saying if they will try getting my package, she said that even if they get it back if it happened to have been shipped by error to someone else they will not send to me for security purpose company policy to which I said, "Nonsense." Thus, to say, he had to endure her rudeness even longer, as well as the long line of customers waiting to be checked out. She literally stood there holding his money while she continued to ignore him. I finally told her to quit gossiping and give him his money so we could get out of there. The store was so filthy... the bathroom's unusable to people who actually like clean, flushed toilets. STORE #363 YONKERS NY. I must say I thought I was taking it personal when they kept losing my layaway. I thought they just didn't like me but when the layaway was done under a different name and they lost the layaway with no care in the world but to tell you, "We will refund your money," like that was going to make you feel better on how they handle the items you took almost 2 hrs in the store to look for that you really wanted to have. The layaway was done two weeks ago and all the manager [Vivian] cared about was refunding the money but not even to bother to really look for my layaway. I'm very upset because this is the damn fifth time doing it to me and something has to be done about it because it's like the employees are wasting people time thinking you have your items to pick up to get nothing but a refund in return.
I'm very dissatisfied with the layaway system they have in this store and I only come to this store because they have very nice clothes for my size and household goods but it looks like my relationship with store will have to stop. IF I don't have money on me to shop can't go in the store because the layaway sucks for real. And I only do a layaway for 2 weeks so imagine I would of waited 60 days to receive nothing but a refund because they lost my layaway. This just don't make any sense and I think the employees are stealing the layaways and the managers don't have a care in the world to tell you, "I will give you a refund and 15% off your next purchase." Really. I want the stuff I picked out and that was put on layaway because you can't give me 15% off of that because you don't have the item no more in store. SMDH.
Then you make a corporate complaint and they tell you someone will call you and guess what, after 3 hrs of waiting I had to call the store to see if they found the layaway and the manager I spoke to says to me, "Let me see," and ask his service manager and he states to me that they refunded my money because they couldn't find the layaway and I told him that he doesn't know what he is talking about. He has a open whole in his mouth for no reason because I'm still waiting for someone to call me back. SMDH. The manager told me that he will look for it and will call me back but you can guess what they doing which is nothing. They are lazy and are not looking for nothing and waiting for me to show up to the store to get my refund. "He will call you back today," [Service Manager] which he never did.
Once again I called and this time I spoke to Vivian the manager from last night who never relayed the message to any of the managers to let them know that a layaway from missing to see if someone can find it. She ask for my name and number and also the name and phone number the layaway was done under which she should of had from the night before. So now this really shows me that nobody cares about looking for anything. Their end result to solve the solution is to refund the money at the end of the day. Very disappointed but once again now I have to wait until Vivian calls me back.
I really think corporate should step in and handle the situation. Enough is enough. If refund is the only solution in regards to their layaway flaws and human errors then why waste people time standing on a long ass line hoping you are able to hold the items for someone to come back to picked them up. You are suppose to be here for the customers and make us happy but guess what I'm not. I really had enough. So if this store is not meeting their numbers for sales this is an area where most of your problems are. LAYAWAY LAYAWAY LAYAWAY.

But wait, there's more, she also showed me the fine print on my receipt that said " All returns are subject to verification and/or approval" below the line which reads in bold: "Simple, if you are unhappy for any reason bring it back with your receipt within 30 days and get your purchase price back."
Clearly Burlington does not honor their return policy agreement. It seems to me that returns are subject to the mood and opinion of the supervisor in charge on that day. Now here comes the icing on the cake, she (store mgr.) took the hair clip and snapped it in place looked at me and said "see, there's nothing wrong with it" smirking at me the entire time. Now I am stuck with a hair clip I don't want that could snap back off at any time. I will NEVER USE IT and I will NEVER spend my money there again. I called their complaint division on 6/26/2017. Was told that someone from the store would call me back and no one. This is no surprise to me now considering how I was treated in the store.

So I went back to the same store next day and I didn't have any problems returning it. So, I wait one week for the money to show up in my bank account and it didn't show up. I called the customer service. They said it would take another one week for it to show and I waited another week and it still hadn't shown up in the account. This process repeated 2 times, I still don't have my money back.

I would like to start by saying that many years ago (15+), I didn't mind going into a Burlington Coat Factory in search of a good deal on a coat. It has been that long since I last visited Burlington Coat Factory Store 161, located at 4020-160 Capital Blvd Raleigh, NC 27604. WOW, what a difference 15 years makes. I cannot believe how run down the shopping center that Burlington Store 161 "anchors" has become. The area feels completely unsafe with individuals loitering in the parking lot, drinking alcohol out of paper bags, suspiciously eyeing you as you walk past. However, I digress as I really wanted to see what the store had to offer and can't necessarily hold them directly responsible for the caliber of the public hanging around the store. It, however, was a good indicator as to how the rest of the visit would unfold.
Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a strange, pungent odor that I can only describe as dirty, stale air mixed with a bit of mold and body odor. Not the kind of scent that puts you in the mood to shop for new clothes. There were very few shopping carts available IN the store. I did however see quite a few in the mile or so leading up to the store and a few more filled with garbage in the parking lot.
Once in the store, I noticed a good deal of the clothes were strewn about the racks as if people were trying them on in the aisles and then discarding them to the racks. Also, there was a disturbing lack of supervision of the customer's children. In fact there were 4 or 5 "children" (I would guess their ages to be between 8 - 14 years) playing an actual game of kickball in the store and a few other dribbling basketballs through the aisles. I also noticed a sales associate feebly attempting to get them to stop, all within earshot of the adults who were with these children.
Pressing on, I made my way to the men's department, hoping to find a decent trench coat (mind you I was not looking for Burberry, however, I was curious to see what was available as BCF USED to stock a variety of decent looking men's outerwear. What I found was a jumbled mess of odd labeled, odd sized, off brand garments that were so messy, I would never have tried them on. Oh, and I found no coat that suit my needs, my needs being something that I could wear over a suit to provide protection from the elements.
Now mind you, I used to understand what Burlington Coat Factory sold, I used to understand their business model and I accepted it. However, it seems as if Burlington Coat Factory has abandoned that model and appears to care less if they stay in business or not. I am not sure who they are catering to currently, but I can tell you that it does not appear to be placing its hopes on customers who have the income to purchase items that would lend to future success.
In fact, as I was leaving, it appeared that there were more customers loudly arguing with staff in what could be called a gutsy attempt to return previously worn items and the same staff arguing with these individuals on why they could not give refunds, let alone cash refunds on items that may or may not have even been purchased at the store. A final note... I will absolutely, never return to BCF for any reason in the foreseeable future, and if BCF continues their current business model, I won't have to worry about returning.

I ordered and PAID for 2 bedding sets from Burlington online store. I received only one. I contacted the customer service department, reported the problem and asked them to send the remaining set ASAP as I need them for house showings. They replied by saying "thank you for your recent return". (Which is a lie, as I never returned anything).
I called in person to ask what was going on and they stated, "that's how we do things". Even though it was their error, the service rep wanted me to do was go through the refund process and start the order over again. I don't have time for that and need 2 matching sets so my only alternative is to go to a Burlington store, return this one and find something else at another store. All they had to do was send me the second set. How's that for the red tape run around... purely so that they don't have to admit a shipping error. Nasty and unethical and so not customer oriented.

I had just left from purchasing something in their upstairs section, bag and receipt to prove it, went downstairs, started to leave without another purchase when I recognized him following, but I still purchased because I wanted some things for my sons. I had a tiny purse, since I'm a female, and made no moves that looked suspicious.
The stereotype and discrimination has to stop. I am over 40, **, and it's uncomfortable being followed damn near every time I go to a store. I'm close to online shopping only for everything. So on December 6 I get a message from my bank that my account has been overdrawn due to a transaction Burlington Coat Factory charge to my account. I call my bank and they told me that Burlington charge my account for a transaction that was from July 31st. First of all why did it take 5 months for a credit card transaction to go through. Second of all why wasn't I contact by Burlington about the missed transaction before they charge my account 4 months later. Then on top of me calling and emailing them they keep telling me that somebody will contact me back.
Today December 13th I still have not talk to anybody but the customer service reps that keep telling me they are investigating it and that somebody will contact me. I call to speak to a supervisor in which I was told that Tyrah will call me back a couple of days ago, I still haven't heard from her yet. Then today I called back again to talk to the person over her head name Preata and she was in at the time and I was told she would be contacting me as well. I still at time writing this letter have not heard from her either.
I'm so upset for the fact that they overdrawn my account and I had to pay overdraft fee as well as the shorted balance to the rent check that they almost bounce. I had to pay my bank back $49.95. I feel like Burlington Coat factory should refund those charges back to me because clearly it was an error on their behalf and I never know any company to take up to 5 month to charge somebody credit card for a transaction that took place back in July. When leaving the store our child almost flew out of the car due to what they say as a magnetic lock on the wheel to prevent customers from taking the carts outside? The dress had a horrible, very visible snag all across the front so I called Customer Service to have another one sent out & I would return this one. I was told to take photos of the damage and reply to their email. So I did. They offered me a 10% discount on an item that cannot be worn so I called back. I was offered free shipping if I reorder, but I have to pay the shipping up front when I reorder the dress and then call to get a refund. Asked for an email confirming this and was given an attitude. This is incredibly poor customer service - and I do not see shipping refund being easy. Hoping my daughter finds a dress she likes as well, and I will NEVER shop at Burlington Coat Factory again, online or stores. If zero stars was an option, that is what I would give.

My daughter just had a baby and none of her before baby clothes fit. We had been having a hard time finding plus sized jeans locally under $60 bucks, so a friend suggested Burlington Coat Factory as one just opened in our town. I checked online and sure enough they had her size in the style and wash she wanted for just $12.99 a pair. Instead of getting out as I am disabled I sent the husband to load my prepaid debit with cash so we could just order the ones she wanted and not risk them being out of stock in store. They according to the website only had 3 of one pair left and 6 of the other.
I went and placed both in my cart and checked out. I filled out my card information (mind you I shop online with this card at least twice a week) and hit submit. It came back rejected. I thought it was because I used my daughters address as the shipping address so I changed it to match the billing (IE I used my address) and hit submit again, and again it was rejected. I opened another window and logged into my cards website and I see the first charge and then a immediate credit back but the 2nd charge is showing as posted with no credit back. I called Burlington and because there was no order actually made (because it was declined) then they had no way to even help me out, saying, "If it was declined then we may have made a hold for the amount but we didn't charge you."
I assured him it was a posted charge and again in the most rude tone I was taken through the steps that happen, although I am a seasoned vet at all this banking crap, thanks to years and years of online orders and mishaps. I thanked the man and just got off the phone so I could call my GoBank card and find out if this was for sure a charge or just a pending/hold that would fall off in 3/5 days as I understand does happen.
Once I spoke with three people at my bank they assured me it was a charge and that they were trying to charge again. She closed that card out and now I get to wait 7 days for my new card to even access the funds that are still in the account. I understand my bank did this to prevent additional charges from Burlington. I never even had an order number but that didn't stop them from taking over $35 bucks. I am now waiting till 5/3 to see if the charges fall off. If not my card company will work with me to dispute the charge. All this because I wanted to save myself the trip and order my daughter a few pair of jeans. Now I have to go out and buy her jeans tomorrow and fight for up to 45 days for the cash I already paid Burlington for two pairs... This was my first and last experience dealing with Burlington, and will never step foot in the one they built here this year.

Cashier lady was very rude/trying to make the return very personal. I wanted my money returned to be back to my debit account which I paid with initially, and which most store do that. She said she can't do that and she only can give to me cash. I asked to talk to the manager. Unfortunately the manager backed her; that's not what bothered me, her tone and the way she was saying "she didn't believe me" and how she was trying to argue back with me and making it personal instead... This was very very unprofessional of her. She needs to learn to deal with customers without including herself. I will never back there. Awful place.

I am a "frequent flyer" at Burlington. I love the quality of their merchandise and clothes. On the afternoon of 3/31/2016 I visited the Snellville Burlington on Highway 78. I'd been eyeing a tufted bench I wanted for my bedroom but of course wanted to take advantage of the layaway option. After standing in line on my lunch break I was told by the cashier that there was no space of my layaway item. There was no alternative give by management at all.
I then asked if they could discount the item for their lack of space and the cashier said "NO." I wanted the bench so bad and the only option she offered was to drive two hours away for a layaway. WOW! I just had to let my voice be heard, the professionalism at this Burlington is sub-par all the time. This time I just couldn't ignore it. It was the worst!!! There has to be some solution to this lack of customer service.

I placed an order online. I later received a confirmation email that my order had shipped. A few days later I got an email that said four of the item I ordered were unavailable. When I received my order, I was missing an item and two of the items were mis-sized. I also got a random pair of Men's Size 52 black denim shorts in my box! Customer service would not send me a prepaid shipping label to return the items that didn't fit. They did credit me for the missing item but I was counting on it to come, so that was disappointing. The four items that I was told were shipped, later became unavailable. Customer service said it's because their website only updates inventory once a day. I was all around very disappointed and will not shop online with Burlington ever again!

I have shopped at the Burlington Coat stores. I had never shopped with them online. This is my first and very last experience. I did my online purchase and immediately, I noticed that they had done the transaction from my credit card, the very same day. When I tried to make an online account during this purchase, the site said they were having trouble with this issue at this time and to try again later. I tried 7 times in 2 days. Each time, it was the very same issue. They do this for a reason.
In order to check the status of your order, (and get a tracking number), you have to create an online account. I tried contacting them by emails. I got an automated response telling me they received my emails and that someone would get back to me within 48 hours at the very most. I never received any, even after 4 days. During this time, I called them by the only number they give you online. I called 5 times throughout 2 days, each time at different times during the day. Each time, an automated response told me that "they were experiencing very high call volumes at this time and to try calling back later."
I called at 8 am, when they first begin taking calls. I called at noon, late afternoon, and just before 5, when they no longer take calls. Each time I got the same automated response. I waited for over a half hour each time, in order to get someone to speak to me. No one ever came to the phone or tells you where you are in line or how long it will take to speak to someone. Obviously, no one will ever answer your call. No one will ever answer your emails. Because I cannot create an account, my order does not exist, except for the fact that my credit card was charged for the order. I will take my copy of the transaction to the local store and start from there. I have sent a copy of the transaction as well to the corporate office by mail. I have contacted my credit card company to cancel the transaction. Absolutely under no circumstances should anyone ever shop at Burlington Coat Factory, online or otherwise. They are a company who commits fraud.

I used to like this store fine for its deals, but then I tried the online store in December. I was charged a lot for shipping, which I accepted, because it's a coat (not exactly a small or light item). Unfortunately, it didn't fit. Per the website, I assumed I could just bring it back to the store to return it. I drove 45 minutes to my nearest Burlington Northern with the coat, the strangely incomplete receipt that came in the box with the coat, and a printout of my order confirmation just in case. But they wouldn't return the item. It had its tags on, was unworn, etc., but apparently what they needed was to see a bar code in my shipping confirmation email. Fine, I thought. I went on my phone to find this email, and it wasn't there!
I confirmed later at home: I was never sent a shipping confirmation email. They offered to let me return the coat in the store for store credit, but at this point it was clear that I was NEVER doing business with this store again, ever. Talk about fine print and garbage! I ended up paying another $15 to mail the coat back so that I could get some amount of refund. What a waste of money, time, and frustration. As I said, I'm never doing business with them again, in store or online. And I definitely recommend you at least avoid purchasing online. This is not a reliable store. DO NOT trust their return policy for online items. (And considering other people's reviews, I just wouldn't trust this store for anything.)

I had the most Awful, humiliating and disappointing customer service experience at this store in Santa Ana, California today, 10-10-15. I had bought 2 vinyl kitchen rugs a week ago, I never expected to have to return one of them for being defective and did not keep the receipt. Thinking it was not a big deal to get a exchange, a store credit or even some sympathy from the store, I went ahead and took the large rug for $14.99 back. To my disappointment, the clerk named Damian gave me the first of many signs of unwillingness and bad customer service. He did not take it back because of lack of receipt and bar code. I suggested that I could go and look for the same item, bring it to the counter so he can use it to take the product back and give me the service I deserve.
Not so lucky... I went to look for it and could only find one with a different design, but the same price and description. Obviously he refused to make it right and upon my request he grabbed the phone and called a manager. There she comes, Miss Diana, like a zombie just getting up from bed, a terrible disposition, no education, no eye contact, no greeting, shake hands, no smile, just a stare at the rugs and refusing to make it right. I explained to her that I have spent thousands of dollars at the store, that I was a loyal customer and that for 14.99 they were going to lose thousands from me. It was not the money. It was the principle of the thing. She refused to do the right thing and disappeared. I asked the clerk what was she doing and he said that she was calling another manager.
There he comes Mr. Jose, an uneducated, unprofessional, rude and unwilling individual. Didn't want to hear anything and refused to make things right. Instead, just like pulling it out of a script, offered me the corporate office phone number. I told him I was going to find it on the internet and was going to write a review, that was leaving them with my rug to what he sarcastically said: "Have a nice day". I told him I wasn't and left with tears of anger and humiliation. It seems to me that the "managers" are being taught to use the corporate office excuse as they know customers won't go anywhere with them either. So, please corporate office, prove me wrong. I had spent a fortune in your store in years of loyalty and satisfaction. Don't make 14.99 get in the way of common sense and fair business practice.

I then said "that is 15 minutes away, you mean to tell me I have to wait 5 more days to receive my items and it's in the same city..." By far the worst online shopping experience EVER! Will tell all my patients and co workers for them to tell their friends and family NEVER ORDER OR IN THAT CASE SHOP AT BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY EVER.

I have bought a lot of items through Burlington Factory online and didn't realize that if you paid by PayPal, when returning orders to the store with the original paperwork, you don't get a credit back to the credit card used by PayPal. You must accept a gift card, plus it gets more complicated if you try to use that gift card online for another order. It won't accept it apparently unless you ask for a specific gift card with an available pin #. All these rules are not explained and therefore it becomes a nightmare to try and get your money back! I do not understand why not because it's the same as using a credit card. EBay for example do credit your purchase back to PayPal. Why can't Burlington Factory? They will lose a lot of customers, me being one of them, after returning some more items today!

I am an employee of Burlington Coat Factory. I always see varieties of bras but I never find my size. They never carry DDD's sizes. I would love if they did that way I don't have to spend the ridiculous prices at other stores... Thanks.

If there's 0 star rating I'll give it to Burlington. Be aware that if you place order online, Burlington does NOT refund you once your online order is canceled if you paid with gift card purchased from third party (and they won't let you know unless you call to ask where is your refund gift card/merchandise card). Be aware they may cancel your online order at any time due to "items no longer available" without asking you first (even though they had sent you order confirmation before). Also be aware if indeed you receive an e-gift card refund email, there might be no balance on the e-card at all, and if you talk to customer service, they might just let you file a police report.
I lost more than $250 from two online orders that were cancelled by Burlington due to "items no longer available". I received e-gift card refund for the first one, order #**, but there's NO balance on it. I was asked to file a police report because customer service told me someone else had redeemed it and I didn't get any money back from Burlington. The second cancelled order, order # **, I received a 0 balance e-gift card refund again. After called I was told NO refund shall be issued to me because I paid with gift cards purchased from third party. Another customer service rep told me the refund was cancelled and another customer rep told me the e-card was redeemed. All different versions of explanation. I lost my money again.
The customer service is the WORST in the world. It seems like they are trained to speak empty words to customers. They won't get back to you at all with emails, phones or any communication tools even they told you they would do so. Besides, if you talk to different customer service reps, you might get different explanation for your complains without any actual action to solve problems. This store is dead to me.

Purchased 3 bathing suit and went to return them. And because the idiot cashier punched in the upcoming incorrectly, they would not return my purchase. Was told by the store manager, **, who by the way was the rudest person, that there was nothing they could do because they never sold it...clearly moron. Your incompetent cashier rang it up wrong. Will never shop in one of their stores ever again. Worst corporate customer service as well. They basically said, "Tough luck."

On April 12, 2015 I purchase a pair of work boots for my son. (The kind that are used for construction workers - up to mid calf yellow suede with rubber soles). After about 3 weeks of wear, the sole of one of the shoe came completely detached. I attempted to return them last night (05-05-15) well within the 30 days of "If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, just bring it back within 30 days with your receipt". Which I did. They would not return the defective shoes saying that they could not resale them so they will not return them. They offered me a discount on a new pair of shoes. Why would I want to take the chance of buying another defective pair of shoes at a discount and be unable to return them? They are falsely advertising their return policy. I will never shoe their again. This is the worse business.

I cannot believe that this store is giving back only 50% of my purchase when I want return it. Ross stores, DD's discount, Walmart... DON'T do that. Is the first time I had seen this in my whole life!!! My boyfriend already paid the merchandise at full price and keep it in the closet until today. Is not fair at all that because is more than 30 days from the purchase, we don't get refunded completely. We will not come back this store NEVER.
