All four of my pets were on Taste of the Wild Lamb & Rice for their entire life. Each had healthy lives and no health issues. Our Akita was with us for 15 years, our 1st Husky for 12 years and our Doberman for 8 years. Our current Husky is active and no health issues at 9 years. I believe this in large part to a good diet. No plans to change unless a specific diet is needed for health reasons.

I foster puppies plus I have a dog and two cats. ALL of the animals in my home eat only Taste of the Wild. Prior to this food, my cats were using regular grocery store food and they were getting very sick. I would 100 percent recommend this food. If you're having trouble with a smelly litterbox, switch to Taste of the Wild.

I have been feeding my dog Taste of the Wild for years and she has always loved it. I am a huge fan of the ingredients in the Prey formula and have been feeding my dog this formula for about 5 months now. She is a 65 pound lab mix and always has access to her food. She tends to eat about 2-4 cups per day depending on how much exercise she’s had in the pool. Beautiful coat from the Prey formula which is important as she can get dry skin/hair from the sun and salt water pool. I believe the price is worth it due to all the benefits and I will continue to purchase.

Our dog has sensitive EVERYTHING it seems, once we switched him to Taste of the Wild grain free salmon, he loved it and had no more skin or stomach issues! Every time we think we'll try something else that seems to be on sale, he totally rejects it or just breaks out in hot spots and we have major vet bills along with a suffering dog. So we are here to stay and appreciate the high quality, reasonably priced dog food our beloved loves.

So glad that I discovered Taste Of The Wild! I was feeding my dog a different brand of dog food that was high quality but very, very expensive. The cost became too much of a burden so I had to find a different food but didn't want to sacrifice quality ingredients. With Taste Of The Wild, my dog gets the best food without animal by-products etc. at a unbelievably low price.

Rocco is a floppy-eared Labradoodle. When young he was on another food and had terrible problem with his ears. You couldn’t even touch them without him screaming. Someone said that Salmon food would help and I found Taste of the Wild and tried that. It’s been 12 years now and never had another issue. I’ve recommended it to others who’s dogs have that problem so they will feel better.

Our Boxer has had many sensitivities to dog food until we found Taste of the Wild. A great product, with many flavor choices to choose from. It is a bit more expensive but well worth the extra cost to ensure our dog doesn't suffer from the itchy red welts on her stomach and itchy enflamed ears she was experiencing from the less expensive "grocery store" brands.

Our to furbabies love it, and they are finicky! They quickly get sick with other brands, due to allergies and snowflake stomach tolerances. Quality of ingredients is our top priority, and few brands compare to TOTW. Sourced company via Costco private label brand. Wouldn't buy another other brand for our furbabies.

The cost of Taste of the Wild is the weakest point. Dog food can be purchased at much less cost and much greater quantity elsewhere, such as Costco. The truth of the food is that unless you have working dogs or dogs on a diet, the less expensive brands are just fine. For example, Taste of the Wild is more rich in minerals and vitamins the dogs need, if my dog needed to lose weight I would feed them TotW but in smaller quantities. I purchase it to have on hand in the event of something happening that prevents me from being able to get the much cheaper dog food. Otherwise I am completely satisfied with the product. The cost prevents me from purchasing it as my main source of dog food.

This food has literally saved my dogs' lives! We have 5 dogs, 3 are pure bread labs. Two of them had severe food allergies, we tried everything the vets recommended, cooked chicken and rice, but still no resolve. So my husband did a bunch of research and found out they were allergic to starch! So we put them on the Pine Forest blend which has the least amount of starch. They are no longer chewing their feet off, no more scratching all nite, and normal bellies, no more pink hot spots. We will forever keep our fur kids on Taste of the Wild!

I researched several kinds of food before I picked him and I chose this because of its unique protein sources, affordability, and the fact that it is grain free.

Very happy to have finally found a single brand of kibble for our English and French Bulldogs. The Frenchies have different sensitivities and allergies and were very fussy about other brands of kibble. They loved TOTW right away and the varieties in flavors helped us figure out what they were allergic to fairly quickly. Although I wish I could feed them all the same formula, I am happy to finally be consistent in a single brand that I can get from the same store and same price.

We were very pleased with Taste of the Wild Adult dry food. For the cost, it's a very high quality food. I’m watchful about the ingredients I'm feeding my pets and I'm watchful of the source of the ingredients and recalls the company has had. The only reason we switched from TOTW is that we added a giant breed puppy and the protein level was higher than recommended for giant breeds. I also wasn’t sure about the calcium to phosphorus ratio. What works for our Bulldogs unfortunately doesn’t for our Irish Wolfhound.

While dogs can't talk, they are amazing at showing signs of something upsetting them. My 8 mo old lab has been on TOTW Adult food for 2 months before we had a very scary incident occur. I was so excited to try TOTW food because of its positive reviews & ingredients! We ship our bag from our local PETCO store via online subscription so the bag arrives at my doorstep once a month. We just received a new bag from PETCO and I fed her her regular amount Monday morning 9/17/2018. She ate it fine. By Monday night 9/17/18 she wouldn't eat her dog food. Very weird considering she's a lab puppy who loves food! I encouraged her to eat as much as I could, but thought maybe she was getting sick or... is this a bad bag or dog food? I just opened it up and we haven't had any problems before! I told myself, if she doesn't eat breakfast 9/18/18 I will go by another bag of TOTW to see if it was just the food.
However, in 24 hours she was too sick to want to eat anything. She didn't eat breakfast and then later that night she had blood in her stools, then 2 minutes after, just blood was coming out of her. I rushed her to the ER. They pulled blood & did an xray and couldn't find anything abnormal. She's now on a chicken & rice diet, but Friday 9/21/18 she started vomiting up blood. So I took her back to the vet. They think it's just severe gastroenteritis, from eating something she wasn't. Not wanting to eat the dog food was my sign. Of course, I cannot prove it was the dog food until we test it, which I am trying to do, but dogs show signs of pain & discomfort by doing something unusual like NOT EATING THEIR DOG FOOD! Over $1,000 later in vet bills and about 8 different meds, I am hoping she's going to be ok but don't think I am in the clear yet.
Also, just to confirm it was the TOTW dog food, I just tried to give her more and she wouldn't eat it. Then bought a new bag of NUTRO food and she can't eat enough! Coincidence? That's for you to decide. Hopefully I can test this food soon though! P.S. the food could also have been contaminated from PETCO warehouse which I do understand. I have talked to them and they already reimbursed me for the dog food, but said if I find anything from testing the food to let them know.

I do feed TOW buffalo venison. I rotate my dog's food and use TOW only 2x week. In my opinion better than others. However, I mainly feed a kibble that is NOT reconstituted meat. You should consider a slow heat actual cut of meat kibble. Your process overheats the meat and kills nutrients. Organic is best!!! Thank you.

Had Australian Shepherd on TOTW-Puppy High Prairie for 6 months and switched over to the Adult High Prairie. Mixed as vet recommended 7 days. Once on adult food, very upset stomach, (large wet stool) & diarrhea x 5 days. I would not think using the same brand and mix from puppy to adult High Prairie would have such a "rich" ingredient difference. He was a little sensitive on the puppy formula also, but I thought it may be the vegetables/fruit ingredients which biology wise, I thought would be a plus. Going back to Bil-Jac as I had used since the 80's with many dogs (no issues).
We are sorry to hear that the transition didn't go well, and that you and your puppy had that experience. Hope he's back to normal now. If you still have the bag, would love to have the production code from the back so we can do an internal investigation. We would also like to follow through on our guarantee of quality. I understand you have some concerns about the store where you bought the food also.

I have a 6 month old pit/shepherd mix who is normally a ball of energy. The food she was originally on when I adopted her was working great, however I read several stories and forum responses online that said a higher protein content would be better for a growing large breed puppy. So I talked with my vet, did some more intensive research, and finally made a decision to try TOTW Grain Free Puppy Salmon flavored. At first my girl was sort of into it, but after about a week she became lethargic, unsatisfied, developed an upset belly, was extremely depressed, and just didn't seem herself.
Over the course of the next week she started pacing around the house, started showing signs of aggressive behavior towards me and other dogs, having potty accidents in places she would never: AKA MY BED, and many other spots around the house. I made an appointment with her vet right away. Her urine sample indicated a UTI. Vet recommended to give her ** mg tabs 2 times daily. I was sure it couldn't be the food we were feeding her... it is a high-quality family owned brand that many dogs love!
5, 6, 7, 8, 9... days passed and her peeing improved a minimal amount - as in barely noticeable. Her pacing has stayed the same and her body posture is still indicating she's in pain. I am currently preparing her organic ground turkey beef, green beans, organic oats, pears, and turmeric. I am giving her a cup of that morning and night, as well as a cup of her old food that I'm transitioning her back to. And while we get her off TOTW - about 1/4-1/2 cup of that is in her bowl as well. I mix it all up together and add some water to keep her as hydrated as possible. I am noticing a difference in her attitude and body posture today. She will be off of TOTW by the end of this week. This food might be for some dogs, but it isn't for mine!
What a pretty puppy she is!
I'm sorry the Pacific Stream puppy didn't work for her. As tough as you think Shepherds and pits are, they actually have some of the most sensitive digestive systems out there. I wouldn't buy any more fish based formulations for her, regardless of the manufacturers.

My Weimaraner has consumed TOTW for the past few years without any issues. Recently, we received a bag that had a change in formula (ingredients) that was not announced, printed etc. on the bag. I fed her this new bag without any idea of the change. She experienced bloat a couple days after eating this new formulation. This new ingredient list now contains dried yeast. X-rays revealed distended abdomen and full stomach. She paced and cried all night long, licking every surface and obsessively eating grass trying to expel this food from her stomach. We have been in and out of the vet with inconclusive blood tests, so many X-rays looking for anything that may be causing a blockage and all they could see was the food.
She finally got it out, but aspirated on her own vomit...giving herself pneumonia! I am appalled and disappointed. The common denominator seems to be the Taste of the Wild food. I fed it to her last night and we are back at square one. This has been going on for a week. I chose this brand and food after so much research and due diligence. I chose it for the quality. Well it seems quality can go down and consumers need not be notified of the change now? What if my dog died? What if I didn’t know the signs and symptoms of bloat? Or did not have the money to bring her in to the vet every single day for the last week? This is disgraceful and you should be ashamed.
So sorry to hear about your Weim. We haven't changed the recipe, yeast has been there for quite some time. I'm so glad you recognized the signs of bloat and got him in! Any large or giant breed dog owner lives in fear of the diagnosis of bloat. I know I watch my Great Dane carefully. It is frustrating that we don't know what causes bloats. We do know these things can contribute to bloat:
Eating from a raised food bowl
Having one large meal a day
Eating quickly
A lot of running or playing after he eats
Other dogs he's related to have had bloat
Eating or drinking too much
I'm glad he's under the care of a veterinarian. I'm sure he/she talked to you about gastroplexy to prevent re occurrence.

I received 2 recommendations to try TOTW Pacific Stream Puppy after realizing my puppy was having a reaction to chicken. I bought a 5lb bag and all was well. Solid poops and I didn’t have to trick my puppy into eating it with toppers, etc. Just moistened with water for 5-10 mins since he’s a small breed. I ordered a 15lb bag online and could immediately see a difference when I opened it. Pellets were smaller, harder, and a stronger smell. It took a lot more water and over 30 mins to moisten and even then it was crumbly. All that and I still tried to feed this to my puppy who would refuse.
After 2 days, I started adding his roasted beef lung treats as a topper. He was eating much less and was giving off a strong fishy smell. After a week, his poops got soft and he was itching as if I feed him chicken. By the end of the 2nd week he wasn’t eating and was showing signs of anal gland issues. I debated getting a different bag of TOTW but couldn’t take the risk of it being just as bad. I had to switch him to another brand which is primarily salmon. He’s doing much better and doesn’t have the strong fish smell. If there is dramatic difference in formulation, then it needs to be highlighted on the package.

We called the store where we purchased, they had no reports of dogs getting sick from TOTW products. Sent an email to TOTW, and received a prompt response and refund check was sent.
A week later our vet called and said our dogs fecal test had showed Giardia, which had to be from a contaminated water source - not the dog food. Long story short, thought the illness had to be from the recently purchased dog food (was just a bad timing) but it was from our dog getting into water on our property that was exposed to wildlife, and was contaminated with the Giardia parasite. We immediately put our dog back on TOTW, and have adjusted our E fence to ensure our dog is not exposed to standing water (we live rural). She had him on Taste of The Wild and I've had him for about a year and three months now. He eats all of the TOTW food and it keeps him active. It is the best because it has a really good balance and has both fiber and protein. I switch back and forth between Pine Forest and the Pacific Stream because they were only two that don't have any poultry in it. I usually stay away from any kind of egg product because I know he's allergic to chicken. He likes being able to change between the two proteins which really helps in keeping him interested in it. I also like that TOTW has a program where you buy 10 bags and you get one bag half off which is cool.
I talked to one of my co-workers yesterday because her dogs have been having really bad reactions to a lot of the food. One of them continuously has hotspots and now, her other one is trying to lick the puss and chews at his feet. They've been trying to find food that won't have any kind of reaction with one of them because one of them gets really bad diarrhea on most food. She has also tried grain-free and poultry-free. I told her that finding food that doesn't have any kind of poultry is really hard, so I told her to try TOTW Pine Forest and the Pacific Stream because I looked at all the other bags and they usually have some form of poultry products. I've been using Taste of the Wild for at least 10 years. I have three large dogs and when I got them as puppies, I decided to raise them on a no grain diet. I got five different brands of dried dog food, put them out in a bowl and let them go to them. I did this for about a week and mixed the brands up and started eliminating. Taste of The Wild was their second pick. They continued to go back to their first pick and I put them on that. But I opened the bag one day and there was a live mouse in the bag. I taped it up and took it back to the feed store. Then I changed to Taste of the Wild and I've never switched.
I've tried all of Taste of the Wild's formulations but my dogs seem to like the Southwest Canyon with Wild Boar the most. My dogs have been the healthiest animals I've had and I know a lot of that is the food. They're 13 and they're all up around a 100 pounds and their life expectancy is seven to nine years. They've all been strong and very active. They haven't had any health issues up until last year. But other than that, their only time to the vet has been once a year to get shots. I just wish the dog food was cheaper because I spend a hundred bucks a month on it.
I have promoted Taste of the Wild to several people. I have a lady in Mexico that does an animal sanctuary in San Carlos. When she has somebody up in the States, she tries to get them to buy her a couple of bags to take down there. I also promote it with people that I know that have animals and I tell them that I use Taste of the Wild and that it is a grain-free food. Grain-free food seems to work a little better with dogs.

I was totally sold on Taste of the Wild by their high protein, grain free, wild and what I thought were authentic ingredients that I used this product with my senior black lab mix when she had some digestive issues, and then continued using it with confidence with a new yellow lab puppy we added to the family. After years of loyal use my senior black lab starts throwing up after meals, and my young yellow lab starts refusing to eat?!?! I acted quickly and of course the first thing the vet asks is "what are they eating." But since I have been feeding them this brand for so long, I didn't want to suspect the product.
Then I went to the pet store and they also had suspicions about this highly rated premium pet food - when venison became 3x the cost in other pet foods and is supposedly an ingredient in Taste of the Wild, Taste of the Wild did not raise their prices. My otherwise sturdy-stomached furry fellows having a sudden aversion to the food makes sense. The final straw, was offering them a different high protein food made in the USA as recommended by the astute pet food retailer. The change is immediate. My dogs love eating again, are not getting sick and my older lab mix is acting puppy-like again. I totally admit this is purely anecdotal and speculation, but I have to say the coincidences overwhelmed me to completely switch my food source for my fur babies. I am sorely disappointed in Taste of the Wild!

Taste of the Wild has been a big thing for me. I got my dog from Craigslist and he was on Ol’ Roy, which dogs love. But it's dog junk food and it's not good for dogs. So we tried for so long to switch our food. We would get really small bags of food from the store to try and wean him off of the Ol’ Roy, and everything was making him sick and was giving him skin allergies. He was miserable if he didn't have the Ol’ Roy. Finally, we got him on the Beneful. It still had recalls, and I was still really sketched about it but it was better than Ol’ Roy. He'd been on Beneful for six years. And then about a year ago, there was the Natural Pawz that opened next to my house. And I'm really big about pet stores, and so I went in there and they gave me a couple of Taste of the Wild samples and I let my dog try it.
My dog's really smart. I put the sample bags of food down and he picked the one he wanted. At first, he picked the salmon and he liked it and really enjoyed it. They didn't have any more of the tasting one for the duck. And then, after maybe a month, he stopped eating it again. And I know for some dogs, you have to leave the food there so they get used to it, but he wouldn't eat for six days. He would get a couple of bites of it and he would not eat. And he's miserable again. So I went back to the store and asked if they had the sample bags with the duck. He loves the duck. And I've also noticed that he's a lot more energetic. He's about to be eight, so he's starting to pop and lock when he gets up and he's been a lot better. His coat is a lot more healthy and shiny. It's really great that it's healthy for him.
I also just got a puppy five months ago and he was on Purina. And puppies are supposed to be kind of chunky and good on weight but with him on Purina, he's still really lanky. I also put him on the puppy formula on Taste of the Wild, and he has been putting on weight, which is really good too. Taste of the Wild is the way to go.

I go down to the local pet store and I pick up a bag and it lasts about two and a half weeks. I'd buy the bigger bag and that'll last for two and a half weeks but the dogs get a third of a cup in the morning as well as a third of a cup in the evening. I use either the roasted lamb or salmon variant. I get one of the other and I switch them so the dogs don't get bored but it seems like they still haven't got bored of it. The brand offers a variety of flavors both dry and canned and I haven't found one that the dogs don't enjoy. This brand also has a high rating on Dog Food Advisor which I feel is noteworthy.

I learned of Taste of the Wild from a friend’s daughter: for a class project in veterinary school, it took first place for nutrition. After surviving two emergency intestinal surgeries that my vet predicted could be fatal, my dog has now gained back all weight and maintained with TOTW, and my other dogs love it as well. We have now started our new puppy on it too, and she is growing like a weed, in perfect health. Highly recommend Pacific Stream canine for all ages!

I've been using Taste of the Wild for my dog on and off for a few months. My Chocolate Lab seems to do better with the fish-based ones so I give the salmon. My dog has a better coat now and I have a positive experience with Taste of the Wild.

One of my cats has intestinal issues if he has any kind of chicken or regular meat. I was not happy with the quality of the other pet food brands, so I was looking for something that had protein, less carbohydrates and fillers. But he does really well in the straight fish formula from Taste of the Wild. If I feed him anything else, it's terrible. I've had a cat for my whole life and this food is fantastic. Their coats are shiny and they keep their weight on well. It's just a really good product.

I then became one of those people. For several years I sang their praises and recommended them to many people.
After some time I decided to put them on the small dog food that TOTW offers since they were mini dachshunds. They did not want to touch that food. I thought they were being stubborn for taste issues etc. I did the slow integration process and shortly after switching completely to the small dog breed TOTW both of my babies got sick. They were vomiting 1st. Eating lots of grass, vomiting a clear foamy vomit. Then they got diarrhea and were vomiting. Then the diarrhea started having blood in it. I took my boy to the vet and they gave me meds to try to stop the vomiting and to ease his stomach.
Within a few days my dog (& best friend) bled to death. It was the worst experience I've ever been through. I am so upset to see that so many others have gone through this as well and there isn't a better response from the company. This is irresponsible. My baby was only 5 yrs old. I should still be enjoying his life for many years. I will never recommend or use TOTW again.

We mix either boiled chicken or cooked steak with the food just to add a little variety then add warm water to make it like a stew. She may not eat it all at once but by the end of the night the dish is clean. Our four year old girl is lean and full of energy. If she’s happy with the food then so are we.

Taste of the Wild is the best dog food for the money...by far. I’ve used this food for a long time, formerly a breeder of German Shepherds, it is a complete food with a variety of flavors and types. I watched my German Shepherd grow big and pretty and now I only have one...a two-year-old who looks tremendous (Bishop). He loves the food and is always Excited when I bring the bowl to him...it’s a grain free balanced diet...I would highly and gladly recommend this food to anyone who has a dog that they love so much.

The food that we use has been consistent every time, our two dogs, a Golden Retriever and Chiweenie both eat it everyday. When we adopted our Golden Retriever from a Golden Rescue she was grossly underweight, we were advised to give her Taste Of The Wild. Two weeks after they brought her to us she gained almost twenty pounds. Today she is a healthy eight year old looking for her breakfast.

I changed all 3 of my dogs to Taste of the Wild with the legumes and my shepherd does not get nauseous any more and their skin and coat is very soft and shinier. They all love the taste also. This food is so much healthier due to grain free and natural ingredients.
