Do not use this on your pets ever!!! This product kills fleas, ticks, and possibly your dog as well. I used it on my dog and she began shaking within an hour. Upon noticing this problem, we contacted our vet who stated that this product is very dangerous. Why hasn't anyone filed suit against this terrible company? Something needs to be done. How on Earth can these pet stores carry this extremely dangerous item?

I used Sentry Flea and Tick XFT 61 on my Pit mix. Within 12 hours he was stumbling up steps and running into things. Within 24 hours he was yelping out in pain just for moving a certain way, which is very odd. He then became very lethargic which is completely not him, and began to have muscle spasms in his sides. If you touched that spasmodic area the spasms worsened and he would flinch in pain. Took him to the vet and they told me to bathe him in Dawn dish soap several times as that is the only way to get the product off and gave him some pain medicine. A couple days later he was back to normal. My recommendation is not to buy any Sentry product. They should be pulled from the shelves. If you are reading this as a result of putting this so called treatment on your pet my best advice is Dawn dish soap baths and definitely consult with your veterinarian.

Sentry Pro Plus Flea and Tick Squeeze - I used this product as well but after reading all of these heart wrenching reviews, I feel lucky (somewhat) that our experience wasn't as severe as most. My 12lb Shih-Tzu started scratching more intensely than before the application about 2 hours after being applied. The next morning, my husband came upstairs and said that our little pooch had made a mess in his kennel and he was covered with his own stool. It broke my heart to see my baby that way. He continued to have severe diarrhea all that next day and us waking up that next morning to the same scenario. I was not too sure if maybe he hadn't gotten into something outside but I was still not ruling out that he was having a reaction to the "flea" medication.

As the days went by, he continued to have diarrhea and at times didn't have time to let us know that he had to go. It was even too sudden for him at times. Mind you, this is all happening during the holiday week so taking him to the vet was out of the question unless it was a true emergency. I called my vet today. Explained what product I used and I got yelled at (in a good way) by the vet. I should NEVER use this product as it has been know to kill animals. That scared me. And knowing that I used this evil liquid on my baby and could cause such horrible and devastating damage and even death... :'(

Needless to say, my vet is awesome, gave him some pepto and Benadryl and didn't even charge me for the visit. She also told me to spread the word about how dangerous this product is and tell people not to buy it for their fur kids. I don't know what I would do if anything worse would have happened to my baby but I will tell you this... SENTRY needs to be PULLED OFF THE SHELVES!!! Side effects could be fatal!!!

I used this on my cat. Almost immediately she became very nervous. Over the course of a few hours we carefully monitored her and she was running in circles and very jittery. She was almost falling down at times. Then she started hiding and when trying to get her out of a hiding place we noticed she was foaming at the mouth. We immediately took her to the veterinary emergency room. At that point they could not even confirm if she was poisoned.

I washed it off two hours later but still I don't know what I'm going to do. I'll have to take him to the vet in the morning. I really want to give you a piece of my mind. Do not use this on your dogs at all. You will regret it. I'm going to the store and talk to the manager on Friday. Tomorrow's Thanksgiving so they're closed but I'm very very upset.

Our 15-year-old lab has had a hip problem for awhile but after having him on Rimadyl he was doing well. Suddenly he started falling and then he can't use his back legs. He can't walk or stand. We had him put down Saturday and now come across these reviews about Sentry. We had just used Sentry Fiproguard plus IGR on him the week he started to fall. I am more brokenhearted to find I caused his death from using this product! I am furious that this can even be on the market with all these complaints and adverse reactions. I will never use any of these chemicals of any sort on my pets! I have just had my beloved Cleve put down when it didn't have to be! I would like to sue them... and furious with PetSmart for carrying this in their store! Something needs to be done! This just WRONG!

Put this on my cat at 4 pm, and by midnight he was shaking and acting very strange. In the morning I found him hiding in the closet, unable to move. He couldn't drink, couldn't go to the bathroom, and was too anxious to be in daylight. It was applied as always between his shoulder blades on the back of his neck, but unlike Frontline and Advantage, this brand left him severely sick. One emergency vet visit later, and I came to find that the vet hadn't even HEARD of such ingredients. I immediately washed it off my poor cat and he was purring while I did this (he never purrs when there is water involved). Almost instantly after he was a new cat. You know why? Because the product was BURNING him, literally. And apparently I'm not the only one, as many of you have had your animals left with chemical burns. Shame on this disgusting company.

I have always given my pug Advantix or the generic Advantix on petmeds.com, but yesterday I gave him the less expensive Sentry flea meds for dogs of his weight. A few hours after putting the flea med on his neck, he began to scratch himself and the floor and pillows and walls uncontrollably. I literally started to watch him lose his mind before my eyes. He was convulsing and having mini-seizures while I had him lying on his back trying to relax him. His breathing was so fast I thought his heart would explode. He was panting like nothing I could never explain. So fast. So loud. I believed he was dying last night. We didn't sleep at all and he didn't sit still for more than half a second in a 15 hour period.

I had to wait to go to my vet until this morning because I live in a rural area. I didn't think he would ever be okay again. He literally lost his personality and mind, and ability to control his movements. DO NOT EVER GIVE THIS TO YOUR DOGS OR CATS. IT IS A DEATH WISH. SENTRY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN STORES. Hopefully my dog will still be alive tomorrow. The vet said at this point, "Some don't make it."

Daughter bought product for dog on Wednesday 11/4/15. Put medicine on our dog Wednesday night. My dog started running, jumping on sofa, rubbing body against sofa. Biting in the air, barking, biting her tail, whining uncontrollable thru the night. Gave her benadryl 2nd night. Today is 11/9/15 and my dog still is having reactions from the meds. I bathe her the 2nd night in the tub. She is still not acting herself. Took her for several walks and my poor baby is still not the same. I'm going to bathe her again tonight and give her Benadryl once more. It's been approx. 5 days, and she is still miserable. A lawsuit should be filed against this company for making this product.

I used this product on my dog a few times before. She always ran away once she saw it in my hand and acted restless and nervous. I thought it was just the smell. Last time she threw up but I also thought maybe it was something she ate. Last night, I used it on her and I went to bed to wake at 3 am to my dog throwing up and shaking and barely able to move with one side of her body frozen like she just had a seizure. I rushed her to the bathroom washed her very well to remove whatever is left on her. She was very scared, seemed lethargic and disoriented, didn't even want to eat bacon which is unusual. She is doing much better now, not throwing up but not back to the happy dog I know. She seems traumatized. I WILL BE THROWING THEM AWAY. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT ON ANY ANIMAL.

I applied the flea and tick to both of my cats (2 years) and immediately regretted my decision. They both started to freak out and run around. My male cat started to drool uncontrollably for the rest of the day from licking the product. My female cat was fine until two days ago when I noticed her starting to go bald where the solution had been applied. The male has been starting to pull his fur out as well. They both have not been the same since I've used the product. When I called the number on the back of the box they were helpful but pretty much just brushed off my concerns. Applied Sentry drops as per the instructions. Within a few hours our perfectly healthy border collie became violently ill, repeatedly vomiting enormous amounts, then passing an enormous amount of liquid bloody diarrhea that was 60% blood--it looked like a murder scene. The dog and I were up all night and are headed to the vet. After reading all the reviews, I can't believe this product--POISON to many pets-- is still on the market. I've seen a number of people who intend to sue; I hope someone follows through because I believe this is the only way to motivate Sentry and chains like PetCo will change.

Before you consider using a product like this PLEASE read these reviews because they are not exaggerated in the least! I used this product on my German Shepherd/Husky mix and at first everything seemed normal, but like most of these other folks right at the 3 hour mark she started to act strangely: Disoriented, nervous, twitchy, just not like she usually acts. Then after an hour of pacing she started to lose her balance, kept shifting her weight, biting and looking at things that weren't there, and then ultimately convulsing violently. So much so that I had to brace her with all my strength every minute or so for four hours. I thought she was going to die. I washed the product off immediately. She would not drink water for two days afterward and did not come back to normal for three days.

Shame on you Sentry! You claim to make safe products but you are harming members of people's family. I do not see this as safe, and I'm furious that she had to go through such an ordeal. Especially since this is sold over the counter at Petco! It's poison and you're disgusting human beings.

Bathed with dish detergent and dosed with diphenhydramine per multiple online sources within 12 hours of application. She is improved greatly. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT - EXTREMELY UNSAFE. Sentry Pro XFT61 - My husband used this product on our dog. She is normally a very calm dog. Within a few hours she was running around the house scratching on the walls and floors. Normally when let out she sits right next to you and doesn't even need to be on a leash. She ran away twice. He gave her a bath shortly after this odd behavior started but it didn't make a difference. When I came home I gave her another bath, still no difference.

I then found the 800 number on the package. I called and they explained that her reaction could last 24-48 hours. I was instructed to again bathe her with a degreaser dish soap like DAWN. Lather, rinse repeat three time. I did this, third bath in about 5 hours time. It didn't seem to make too much of a difference. She never slept for 24 hours couldn't even lay down was totally restless wanted to sit on top of me, keep scratching on floors. I would never use this product again. Was a terrible experience. Thinking it was just greasy, I wasn't concerned. Today I took a closer look because she was still scratching. Her skin is red and oozing. She definitely has a reaction to this flea treatment. We washed her with Dawn which I'm going to do again. Tomorrow we will be going to the vet. These products should be taken off the market!

I gave my dog a flea treatment on Friday Sept. 25th. After about 20 min he was very restless, agitated and digging at his skin. I gave him two Benadryl thinking it would curb the irritation. It didn't. I gave him a bath using Dawn dish soap hoping to wash the POISON off of my dog. Dawn didn't touch it. Two hours later, another Dawn bath. He was still very restless and irritated at 3 am. I looked at his skin and it was very red, blotchy, and looked burned. I called the vet Saturday morning. Thank God she was able to get his in. She gave him a very high dose of steroid and Benadryl.

Finally after being up for over 24 hours he was able to rest. I noticed on Sunday he was still itching a little. I took him to the vet this morning Sept. 28, 2015, and the vet had to shave him where his skin was irritated. I am $300.00 into this incident and plan on calling Pet Supplies Plus to ask why they are carrying this POISON at their stores.

After drooling really bad he was shaking a lot twitching and having severe tremors. So later in the day I noticed all the cats having problems. If I would have known this was going to happen I would have never bought it and would have purchased Frontline. Also it seems to not kill the flea - I keep seeing them. I have a one-year-old Cocker Spaniel. I usually use Advantix II, but I saw this product at Pet Supplies Plus and since it boasted a more natural treatment, I tried it. HUGE mistake. Lexi is a young dog, so she's generally active and energetic. But an hour after applying this poison, Lexi literally COULD NOT be still for more than five seconds at a time. She began panting excessively, hiding under furniture, scratching not only herself, but almost obsessively digging and scratching at the carpet. She would try to eat, but she would get a bite in and jump like something shocked her.

I put this product on her at 2 pm. An hour after she began acting erratically, I searched Google and saw all the negative reviews about this product and was horrified!! Lexi was doing the same thing and exhibiting all the same behaviors! I immediately gave her a bath but after drying her off, she was still behaving the same way. I gave her another bath around 10 pm that evening but she still seemed the same. She wanted to lie down, but every time she tried, she would jerk back up suddenly. When she began crying, I got really scared and took her to emergency.

Finally got home around 5 am after they'd given her a shot of Benadryl and she finally seemed to be able to relax and go to sleep. She still seems to scratch suddenly, but the constant pacing, panting and restlessness have stopped. I still have to give her Benadryl to keep her calm. I'm gonna be watching to make sure she doesn't develop chemical burns like I've seen on here. I feel horrible that I put my baby through this and am BEYOND angry that any pet store would sell this item after all the complaints about it. After recently moving (not by choice) to a new area with my 9 year old male cat, Jax, he suddenly became infested with ticks and fleas. This was our first experience with these horrific little pests, causing both of us to become completely frantic. Jax is a very laid-back feline and has enjoyed good health from day one. The move had thrown his flea treatments off schedule. Knowing our plight, a friend offered this new flea and tick product to me for free. I viewed this as a blessing because the move had taken all of my funds and then some. I accepted and thanked my friend for trying to help. My mistake was not checking out this product before using it...big mistake...huge!! I applied the Sentry Natural Defense squeeze on flea & tick treatment to poor Jax at bedtime. He immediately began to salivate and continued doing this for at least thirty minutes before it finally abated, unlike the very worried feeling that remained with me.

That was two weeks ago. After trying to research and self-diagnose my cat with online information, I found myself back at the Sentry Natural Defense website, but this time I found the reviews and complaints...and bingo!! I had found the culprit!!! The very first review that is posted on this site references the writer's cat and their use of this same product I am now referencing in this review. I do not know the writers of any of these postings but the one I just mentioned above could have been written by me, because the experiences were identical after both cats were treated with Sentry Natural Defense squeeze on flea & tick treatment for cats. After that initial dosing that I applied to my cat's neck area, he has ceased eating, drinking, and using his cat box. He has also kept himself isolated from every other living thing, including myself. There is no other place on earth Jax would rather be than by my side at all times, but not anymore!!

I had 2 dogs and 2 cats two years ago. I lost three of them this past year...my babies! Jax is the only one I have left. If I lose my beloved friend to something as unnecessary as a deadly product that was placed on the market by money-hungry...well, I cannot even finish this sentence. Instead, I'll leave it like this...I'm watching my sweet Jax as he is lying here next to me. He is looking up at me with those weak/sick, green eyes, and all the while he is laboring to get his next breath...

Our cat who is strictly indoor snuck out a couple of weeks ago and we recently noticed fleas on him. Not an excessive amount, but enough to make me aware. We bought this flea and tick control last night at our local animal supply store thinking this was going to be a breeze. We gave him the application between his shoulder blades. The next morning we noticed he was really freaking out running all over the house looking for somewhere to hide. Our cat is typically very social. He was panting and not eating or drinking or going to the bathroom. We tried to coax him out of hiding with treats and wet food (his favorite) but nothing would work.

As the day progressed, all he wanted to do was be isolated. After reading that someone's dog had passed after using this product recently, we became very concerned and called the 24 hour hotline number on the back of the box. We were advised to bathe him in dawn 3 times and monitor him, possibly needing vet assistance if there was no progress. While bathing him, he was completely limp, definitely not normal for any cat. So far he has bounced back to some degree, but is completely exhausted. Stay away from this product. I don't know why any store would sell this after having so many bad reviews!

The skin looks pinkish, and when you touch the area she kinda yelps. She is eating and drinking. And from what I am reading in the other complaints, I need to bathe her as soon as I can. The male husky was rolling over on his back a lot outside so I am guessing he's having issues as well. Ridiculous to sell a product like this for animals. They cannot speak for themselves and tell us what is wrong. Stop trying to make a buck and just make a good product.

I bought Sentry about two months ago and put it on my dog. I didn't notice anything at first because I had to leave for a few hours. When I got home he seemed fine. When I pet on him and hugged him I broke out in hives and my hands swelled up. It went away but lasted for a few weeks. During that time I noticed my dog Bayr losing his fur on his ears, anus, belly and legs. He had sores on his neck too. I immediately bathed him in dish soap and have several times since. The fur is just not growing back. I never had any problems like this before! He is always itching and has sores because he is so itchy. I will never use this product again.

Sentry Natural Defense flea and Tick drops - Purchased this product yesterday and applied this morning to my two Maltese. I was thinking because it was "Natural", it would be safer than the other flea control drops. They both hid and sulked all day and their skin was irritated. The drops did not stay between the shoulder blades like Advantix or the other flea prevention products do, but RAN down to where the dog could be able to lick it off if they tried. The dogs stayed in my room sulking.

Finally, one of them came to the living room where I was and laid on the rug. I was OVERCOME by the SMELL of this product and developed a migraine/sinus headache so bad, I felt like I was going to have a stroke. I immediately bathed both dogs with DAWN dish liquid. It took 3 times to get the product out. While bathing them, they both STILL had FLEAS. The dogs are acting back to normal now and my headache is subsiding some. HORRIBLE PRODUCT. DON'T BUY!! I have a 15-month old poodle (Ms. Bella Mae). She is very active, healthy, update on shots, and very loved! I had heard of the Sentry Capguard (Nitenpyram) products - tablet form. I thought I would try it because Bella did not like the liquid you put on the neck area. Friday night (7-31-15) about 7:45 pm, I gave her a pill. We played outside, had a very fun evening. Going to bed about midnight, I could tell she was getting tired. Ms. Bella sleeps at the foot of our bed on a blanket.

Around 6am, my boyfriend got up for just a few minutes but noticed Bella didn't even move, which was unlike her. He reached down and patted her, she looked up at him and then laid her head back down. I got up about 6:30. I noticed Bella wasn't acting her full of energy self. I thought she was tired. We went outside as usual. She pooped and gave kisses to Mickey our cat. Then went and laid under a bush. Not thinking anything of it. I went to dress and get ready to leave when I went out to get Bella to put her inside. I hollered for her she would not move. When I went to her, I knew something was wrong. Sure enough. Ms. Bella had passed. She was not breathing. It was an awful moment. I believe this medicine had something to do with her passing. I cannot prove it just yet but I know she was fine Friday night and within 24-hours of giving her Sentry Capguard she was dead!

Around 9:30 she started going crazy, running around the house, rubbing herself against everything, then she started panting really loud, then she was convulsing. I then read the warning and said to give the dog a bath using Dawn detergent. So I gave her a bath which seemed to help for a half hour until she started running all over, whimpering, and making a weird bark noise. At this point I have been up all night and had to work real early, so I called the emergency hotline where the guy told me to keep giving her baths and also apply cold compresses and if that didn't work, to put topical vitamin E oil on her. Finally after almost 24 hours later, she is feeling better. And on top of that, I also put this on both cats and it literally gave them bald spots where it was applied.

I got home in the afternoon and was told that she'd been scratching and shaking some during the day. By the late evening (about 9 PM) she was inconsolable. My wife tried to pet her and mildly scratch her back, and she yelped very loudly, obviously in pain. I read the back of the package, which suggested bath and "rinse with large amounts of water" for the continued sensitivity. We did that, and it seemed to help, for about 10 minutes. 30 minutes after her bath, she came over to me, wrapped her tail closely around her and sat down, her bottom pulled in tight to her legs. She looked up at me with her ears down and back, I could only imagine her thoughts as she sat beside me looking at me (this is highly unusual for her, in fact I don't think I've ever seen her do this).

She didn't sleep much last night, and is still showing signs of irritation this morning, still seeming to look to me for help. I looked up some Petco product reviews, and now this site, and I'm sick to my stomach that a company could market a product that obviously has such poor performance and clearly a majority of pets have significant medical reactions. I WILL NEVER BUY SENTRY PRODUCTS AGAIN. I would easily join a lawsuit or any other legal action to shut them down. The other 4 cats were lethargic and lost their appetites as well, but were fine after a couple of days. My 13 year old cat died within a week of using Sentry on her. If you think you can just put some medication on your pet and fleas will go away - well maybe it happens if you're lucky. I used PurrScriptions Plus, bombed the house twice, put cedar chips in strategic places (places I can't easily clean), brushed Borax into my carpets (neat trick - it cuts them up and they dry out and die), and then we finally had no fleas. I panicked and took her to the emergency vet where they gave her a shot of Cortisone and said if she wasn't vomiting she was probably okay. I'm all for an inexpensive way to prevent fleas and ticks and mosquito bites, but not if it's going to make my animal miserable.

She can't sleep and neither can we. After reading all these reviews I think I will probably have to take her and put her in the bathtub right now in the middle of the night. I gave her Benadryl already but she is still acting funny. She has never had fleas - just found a tick on her and I have never used any treatment. She is better off without this stuff I do believe! It was time for my two cats and one dog to receive their monthly flea treatment and I decided to try this product because I had seen it on commercials and it is a little cheaper. After 6 hours, my younger male cat started having seizures and vomiting. I saw no evidence that he licked it and it was applied high on the neck and should be impossible to reach. I washed the product out with dish soap since I had read that many people on this thread had to do that. After another hour of him continuously shaking and crying in pain I parted the hair on his neck and saw huge burns. I applied Benadryl cream and calamine lotion to try to help. He will be going to the vet in the morning.

I purchased Sentry Natural Defense Flea & Tick for Cats at my favorite local pet store. They focus on natural, eco-friendly products and I've trusted them for years of happy purchases for my cat. I decided it was time to start treating my 5 year old cat for flea and tick prevention because it's getting warmer again and opted for Sentry Natural Defense because it was the only one offered at the store and I thought going with a natural option would be even better than the products I had used on her before. The moment I applied it between her shoulders she ran away and a profusely started frothing and foaming at the mouth. Her eyes were watering and she was running like she was being chased or in pain. (When applying other flea products in the past, she hasn't even noticed or reacted at all.)

She stopped frothing and kind of calmed down after about 30 seconds, but I followed her around and kept an eye on her to see if she was possibly allergic to something in this medication. She was falling over and wavering like she was drunk, and eventually went and laid down - appearing exhausted from the medication. I let her rest for about an hour and went to wake her up and check on her. She was still stumbling around uncoordinated and had now started twitching her head and feet like she she was having spasms. I looked up this product online and saw all these lists of reviews of similar, if not horribly worse reactions.

I immediately washed her with warm water and dish soap. If your pet is having a reaction to this medication, I URGE you to do so! My partner called our emergency vet clinic, the store I bought it from, and Sentry themselves. All recommended washing my cat 3 to 4 times over, rinsing in between, with mild dish detergent to try and remove as many oils as possible.

I dried her off and she was still shaken, acting uncoordinated, sleepy, and confused the rest of the evening. Thankfully this following morning she is doing well and seems to be back to normal, but I am so shaken by how violent her reaction was. Obviously this can't be how pets always react since the product is still being sold, but please be wary! I've treated my cat with Frontline and Advantage in the past, and she had absolutely no problem with them. Sentry Natural Defense made her uncomfortable and seemed to mess with her nervous system. Really scary, I must warn, please stay away from this product. I created an account just to post this incident and hopefully keep some other cats and dogs away from it!

The first time I used it on my cats (2) they smelled wonderful but soon began being very lethargic and seeming like they were drugged. They lost interest in eating and drinking and were not active at all. This was very unlike them as they were both always running and playing and spatting with each other and they acted like they were starting to die.

I called my veterinarian and he said to give them baths with dish soap and that the "essential oils" in the product were toxic to cats and he was concerned that the product was even being offered on the market for cats. I got the bathing done but for days the smell of the product hung on and the cats seemed very ill. They got through this but I am DONE with Sentry. When I called about the symptoms, the company had someone on staff explain procedures to remove or at least reduce the dog's suffering. She explained his hyperactivity and inability to lay down was because his body felt like he had "pins and needles" throughout. After a rinse and repeat three times and rubbing vitamin E oil on his fur, he calmed down in about 6 hours. The treatment was administered at noon, his reaction was at 3. One of the dogs had the worst symptoms drooling, eyes rolling back, panting, walking stiff and would fall over... took two to the vet, one was left there all day on fluids and testing. Hundreds of dollars later test ruled out other causes leaving the one constant... Sentry Flea & Tick! All 3 dogs were healthy and running and almost died from this company.

She finally passed away after 3 weeks of recovering from when the products were applied to them. We are heartbroken and devastated. She is our family. My dogs were healthy dogs, I did not give them any chemical products. I cooked homemade food for them, took them for 2-3 walks a day. She was almost ten and acted like a young dog. I only purchased this product because it said natural, safe and effective! It says can be used with other Sentry products, safe to ingest, reapply as necessary. I listened to the label, the website, and trusted the words SAFE, NATURAL & EFFECTIVE and in turn they killed my dog.

The vet did tick tests, blood work and they came back negative, they couldn't find anything wrong... The only thing we did different was use SENTRY. I made a case with SENTRY. I spent around $1500 on vet bills and SENTRY mailed me a $42.50 check which was my refund for the products. If they say SAFE, NATURAL & EFFECTIVE, safe to inject, reapply etc. why would I question the safety of this product!? I even bought it from an ORGANIC pet store!!! I am livid, this happened to my dog! I am livid it has happened to others! And I will fight for Dharma and make sure no other dog/cat gets harmed from SENTRY again!

When I put the product on my cat that I had since it was a baby (for 9 years) it immediately freaked out and then for 4 days it ran around my house like it was crazy or high on something and then one morning I woke up to go to work and found my cat dead in my closet with foam at the mouth and cat poop everywhere. I followed the directions exact. My cat was totally healthy and two weeks prior went to the vet and was given a clean bill of health. Your product killed my family member (my beloved cat Babykitty, a black, long-haired Persian cat). I feel that Sentry needs to compensate my family for the death and anguish and our loss. I am going to seek legal action against this company. That's all I'm going to say for now.

Two days after putting up with the nasty, overwhelming stink... turns out my cat had a bad reaction to it, and her hair at the application spot fell out and is bald. I quickly bathed her after noticing and will call my vet tomorrow to ask questions. It smells through the whole house and my cat couldn't stand the smell either. She sneezed lot too. Sunday night I put it on and "attempt" to go to sleep an hour later around 9. After listening to his nails pace on the hardwood floors and his collar shaking for an hour, I got out of bed and let him outside. When the extreme panting and the pacing got worse, I gave him three baths and had to sleep on the couch. He could finally fall asleep around 2:30am and that was only because he was sleeping on top of me. This product needs to be pulled from the shelves! I have never seen him act like this before, it was horrible. I called my vet this morning, they hadn't ever heard of this before. I will make sure they are aware when we are there on Saturday to get REAL flea & tick preventative.

We recently got a 2nd puppy, Brutus 9 weeks old, so our other puppy, Mongo 8 months, had a brother and playmate. After getting Brutus, we opted out the more expensive flea meds Mongo had so we could spend money on more food and toys for the boys; big mistake. A few hours after applying, Mongo started itching, and his ears started twitching and he whined constantly. I know flea meds can be irritating when first applied, so I disregarded it as him just being a sissy; Brutus was fine. The difference here is Brutus had the "gentle, small breed", where Mongo had the 40-60 lb version, so it's stronger. After about 10 hours of nonsense, I Googled "sentry pro, dog crying" and the first thing that came up was TOP 348 COMPLAINTS.

We recently dealt with the whole feeding Mongo Beneful ordeal (Beneful KILLS dogs; they use poison FYI; they both get scrubbed). I immediately realized I messed up again. After reading the first couple reviews, we threw Mongo in the tub and doused him in Dawn dish soap (BTW Dawn is the only one that will work; there's a reason they use Dawn to clean up oil covered ocean creatures!) He about fell asleep as we scrubbed him down. Better safe than sorry; we woke up Brutus (BTW it was 4am at this point, and I wasn't about to call my mom; a retired vet manager) and we bathed him too.

JUST FOR CLARITY; AT NO POINT DID BRUTUS SHOW ANY ISSUES; he had the gentle small breed version. After bathing the dogs, my fiance and I rubbed behind Mongo's ears; they were red, irritated, and twitching. He fell asleep within seconds of rubbing, but once we stopped, his ears would twitch and he'd cry and wake back up. Knowing that there are NO ingestable human meds safe for a dog; DON'T USE ANYTHING THAT DIDN'T COME FROM A VET; YOU CAN KILL YOUR DOG (BENADRYL, TYLENOL, ETC.) I had to think of something first aid, topical, to soothe the area.

I ran to the closet and scoured... I have burn ointments and cleaners; meh, that might hurt him, so I opted those out. Then I saw the aloe sunburn gel; Aloe is naturally found in nature, and unlike my mother who kept aloe plants, all I had was the gel. Fortunately you don't highly refine aloe; it loses its properties. So I grabbed my aloe gel; the only thing added to it is Lidocaine, a topical numbing agent. After 30 minutes of rubbing it (he's part malamute, so I had to really get it in there under his underfur to the skin; of course he fell asleep). At this point we were exhausted, and he was utterly miserable. Mongo is a stress chewer, so I gave him his favorite bone and he went to town, lying on his favorite blanket (we tried keeping him on the bed, but after he got big he refuses to cramp himself on the bed) we passed out.

I woke up today and immediately checked on the boys; baby was still fine, and Mongo was snoring, thankfully; we let him sleep, choosing not to wake him for the morning pee. After he woke up (ears still twitchy) I made both boys scrambled eggs (just eggs, no butter etc it's bad for them; eggs are excellent for your dogs coat and dead skin!!!) We ate eggs.... It's now 5pm the following day, and the redness behind Mongo's ears is pink; yay, and he's sitting on the porch watching the neighbors, as he is nosy.

We will now never "save money" on any of the things (food, toys, meds). This has been a learning experience, and I hope our story, and all the others, can help save anyone else who makes mistakes as we have!!! We all love our fur babies! I wish all best on tackling this; just remember, mistakes happen, it's all about how we fix it and learning from it!! Your babies will be okay in a day, as long as you take care of the problem IMMEDIATELY. (And make sure you love on them, give them lots of their favorite things; they don't need to think it's their fault, it's 100% our own). BEST OF LUCK.

I purchased this for my service dog and put it on him on March 5, 2015. Later that day he started to whine, shake his head, and bite at his side and near his tail. It continued to get worse his skin was red, and felt hot to touch, his whole body felt hot. He was panting, and stressing out to the point he wouldn't eat and could not even sit, or lay down for short periods of time.

During the night I sat up with him not sure if it was the flea & tick or not, until he rubbed his neck up against my face. I knew at that moment my poor dog was suffering and in a lot of pain. When he rubbed on me the flea and tick got on my face, it started to burn right away like my face was on fire. I ran into the bathroom to wash it off, soap did not work so I grabbed dawn dish soap, and that did not even stop the burning. What it did do when I wash my face was spread it on my face.

I washed my dog right away at 2am in the morning with Dawn dish soap and a lot of water. My dogs skin erupted in blisters and had caused him great pain and discomfort. To this day he is still biting at his back and side because the blisters are healing and irritating. Yes I am medically treating him as well as myself. I also ended up with my face blistering from this and it is a mess as well.

I am disabled and my dog detects seizures and assists me, so to have us both stressed out in pain and sick, was uncalled for. Petsmart provided a full refund-- I am thankful for that, but that does not take back the pain and suffering my dog went through. Wash your cat immediately with dish washing liquid!!!!!! I purchased Sentry flea and tick remover yesterday, I applied it at about 5:00 pm. My cat is a new mom so when I noticed a few fleas, I went to PetSmart to make sure I would purchase the correct thing for her and her kittens. She has been very attentive with her kittens. We set her up a box and she has not attempted to move them or anything. Later we noticed one of the kittens had been moved because she was crying in distress as if she didn't know what where it was. We found it under the bed but we noticed momma cat was shaking about 2 hours after application. I thought it was just the process but when I awoke to her moving another kitten at 4:00 am the following morning, I Googled it and found this forum. Wash your cat immediately with dish washing liquid as it will help to remove the oil from her fur.

I haven't noticed any skin shedding or rashes as others have stated but her shaking has calmed down a great deal almost to none when I had her wrapped in a towel drying her. Now I'm waiting for her to completely dry to see if it's just that she is cold. She is back in the box with the kittens where it is very warm and comfortable for them. I pray this is the solution because I would be crushed if I lost my baby as others have and for you guys and girls, I am so sorry that these things are put on our shelves and deemed safe when there is proof that it's not.

Even if you decide to take your cat to the vet, I (who is not a veterinarian, just a mom of cats whom I love) would recommend that you wash them off with the dish washing liquid first. I hate I didn't do it immediately after. For extra information, my cat did not foam at the mouth nor did she howl so maybe that makes a big difference. I could just tell she was in distress about her kittens. By the time I finished this, my cat had dried off and is no longer shaking, thank God. I really hope this helps as other posts help me! Thanks.

I purchased both Sentry pro XFT for small breeds 11 to 20lbs and Sentry Pro XFT for dogs 40 to 60lbs. One we got at petco in the sale bin and the other at Cabela's. The first time I used it on our big dog, she had the worst reaction. Poor thing kept jumping up and running across the room and quickly laying down like she kept getting electrical jolts. Then as soon as she lay down she jumped up again and repeatedly went from spot to spot unable to get comfortable. This kept happening and I was trying to figure out if it was because I gave her a haircut and that she felt weird about it. I realized I just applied the sentry medication as well.

I quickly put her in the shower and tried to shampoo all the flea stuff off before it went into her blood stream. It helped a bit, but she kept doing the same thing. After a day she was fine. Then about a week ago both of our dogs got fleas again so we applied Sentry pro to both dogs. Our dogs didn't seem to have any symptoms while we were away for a couple of hours (my mother was watching our dogs). Later that evening our shih tsu started to develop weird behaviors such as barking, whining, anxiety with severe short breath, panting and seizure like symptoms. He kept trying to get comfortable and as soon as he would lay down he immediately jumped back up as if he was getting electrocuted. We didn't think much of it at first but after hours on end we noticed it was getting pretty bad.

It seemed to get better if one of us held him and constantly kept petting him to keep him calm. As soon as we stopped it started up again immediately. We tried everything from Benadryl to giving him a bath (we ended up giving him 2 baths; one with dog shampoo and then one with Dawn dish soap recommended by the vet). Regular shampoo will not get rid of the medication since it is oil based, that is why our vet said to use Dawn dish soap since it cuts grease and oil. I suspected it was the Sentry flea meds because that was the only thing we gave him that day. He kept my boyfriend up all night because he was crying and whimpering constantly while jumping from position to position. The constant rubbing and petting him no longer worked.

Our dog couldn't even get comfortable to fall asleep... no matter how hard he tried to sleep he couldn't (neither could my boyfriend). It was awful poor thing was exhausted. He didn't seem to have pain on him because we checked everywhere. So I figured it was internal. Plus he still had an appetite and was drinking water. He even was playing with his toys (I think it took his mind off of the uncomfortableness he was experiencing). By morning still no change, it was even worse. I had read most comments on here and we decided to rush him to the vet that morning.

The vet confirmed it was the Sentry flea meds. The ingredients are poisonous to dogs and gets in the blood stream. Basically it was like 3rd degree burns on the skin from the flea meds and also he had muscle spams from it as well. We ended up paying $250 to flush it out of his system plus some pain med and Valium so the poor guy to get some sleep. Finally after 3 days he only suffered from short jolts and then subsided to nothing. DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR PETS!!!!!!! Our vet hadn't even heard of this type of flea brand. He did say that there is always a risk with topical flea meds. I have been using capstar on our other dog for years which is a pill that kills 90% fleas and works within 30 min and by 4 hours 90% are gone.

Our vet said that the Capstar pill is the best thing and that it's easy, fast and doesn't have that effect that certain topical flea meds do. Has anyone tried to contact Sentry Pet products and attempted to either have them refund you for the medication or refund your vet bill (I'm guessing they wouldn't do the vet bill but hey gotta try!!) or both?

We had only had him for 4 days and I noticed that he had been biting at his legs. Afraid that he may have had fleas when we got him, I decided to give him a treatment. I purchased this thinking that something "natural" would be safer on his young skin. Put it on as directed and within 15 minutes, he started running around rubbing himself on the floor. We thought it was from the smell. Took him outside and he slid on the snow and ice, rubbing his sides/back/and pushing his head through the snow as well. When he continued acting this way, I gave him a bath. Behaviors continued.

About 2 hours later I bathed him again, rinsing him thoroughly. He has finally stopped rubbing himself on the floor. However, he doesn't want to play or eat. He just wants to sleep. If he still seems "off" in the morning, we will be headed to the vet. I will also be keeping a close eye on his skin to watch for infection as others have reported. We brought her home and she is till shaking pretty bad. Both cats are having some trouble walking straight... Both days I contacted the company to report the reactions my cats had. They did not seem at all concerned. They are sending me paperwork to fill out and putting it in front of a committee to see if the product is really what's at fault. And even asked me if I separated the cats like I am supposed to after applying. I checked the box over and over. Nowhere on it says this could be a side effect or to separate them. I followed the directions exactly like I have every time I have used the product. Maybe it's a bad batch or maybe it's the product, either way I hope that no one else uses it and goes through the horrible experience that I just did. Thankfully they are all 3 alive but it could have been a lot worse. I have videos and pictures of what it did to my babies. Hopefully someone will listen!

The next day we noticed he had severe muscle spasms and was unable to lay down without all four of his paws convulsing. We took him to the vet and gave him 3 consecutive baths with dish soap but he is still feeling miserable. He cries out of pain and is unable to even lay down to sleep for the night because of the extreme discomfort. Even with the use of Benadryl he is still not doing okay. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR ANYBODY. The well-being of your dog is not worth the discounted price. We are appalled that a product like this sold in widely known pet chains such as PetSmart. I purchased this product online for my two cats, and the type I purchased the one used for cats 1.5lbs and over due to health issues with one of them. It’s now been a month since we first applied this product. However my cats are still experiencing fleas, as if NO treatment had been done. I went to check the expiration date of the product, but was unable to determine the date, so I went online to search to see if I could locate it, but had no success. Not even the SentryPetCare.com site offered this information. Due to this I can't say if this product 'works' or not as it may be an expired product, where the effects would be limited to non-effective. The only thing the site states is that in proper conditions of storage it has a life expectancy of 3-5 years... and naturally if the storage wasn’t ideal it's shortened due to this.

I do NOT like such vague information especially when dealing with a product which has been known to have adverse/negative effects on animals which are sensitive to the product in the first place, and not being able to locate this information prevents me from returning it to where it was purchased due to my own lack of found information to show it was an expired product. YES, there are numbers shown on the end of the box, two rows of them, but these numbers do not pinpoint to actually show anything specific which would allow for determination of expiration. I have emailed the company to see if they can tell me how to determine this date from the numbers on the box OR just provide me with the date that this number represents. This is not a cheap product to purchase, so full disclosure of this type of information IMO should readily available and obtainable.

I purchased Sentry Natural Defense for our kittens and cats mainly because the product claimed it was all natural and good for kittens and cats of all weights. I wish I had never bought this product! The very next day, one of our kittens' fur was gone at the application point. I immediately gave her a bath to get the Sentry product off of her. I wish I had washed it off my other kitten the same day. The first kitten to show reaction to this product has a bare area on her back that does not seem to be healing. A few days later our other kitten can no longer potty on her own, eat or even drink on her own. We took her to our vet and he gave her a steroid shot and gave her a bath to wash the product off of her. We were too late though. Our sweet kitten now stumbles around in circles and the vet thinks she has neurological damage. Our vet has also given us an IV bag to continue flushing her system throughout the weekend. Our sweet little kitten has no control over her legs and just stares into space. She does not respond to us and we have been told she may not survive. We are heartbroken!

This product was dangerous to our babies and now we may lose one because she is so sick from this product. I don't know why Petco or any other merchant would sell this product. My baby just lays there staring into space and will never be the same again. In fact, she may not be with us much longer. BTW, we followed the instructions on the product and applied it as directed to our kittens who are over 6 months old. The product box said not for kittens less than 12 weeks old and was good for all weights. This product was toxic to our kittens! Please do not use this product on your pets. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone!

The sales woman recommended it, so I purchased it and applied it on my dog that night. About an hour later, he started pacing back & forth & acting very agitated and anxious. I always notice when his behavior changes - he started having these little 'twerks' like he'd jump up, as if he was getting a shock. Then he started gnawing at his butt and groin, so violently, it was very scary.

My poor dog was up all night, jerking and having these little ticks, then continuously biting at his skin. It was so awful. He started panting and his heart was beating faster than normal. He did not sleep all night. Neither could I because I was worried.

The next day I called the company, and the moron who took my call insisted that the product was fine, and said the product doesn't penetrate into the skin. So he didn't know why my dog was having such a reaction. HUH!?!? Was this guy kidding me? I brought my dog to the vet, and they gave him an IV to flush out the remains of the medicine. The next day, as recommended by my vet, I gave him another bath using Dawn liquid detergent - it was his 4th bath within 2 days, poor thing. I feel terrible for putting him through this - I wish I would have researched this product. I should not have settled for anything other than what my dog was used to. Well, can't say I'm surprised that I'm upset with failure of product after the countless negative reviews I read! Hubby picked this up at the suggestion of a PetSmart employee (prior to my reading reviews), after our indoor 12 year old male cat (17+ lbs), for the first time ever, was recently found to have fleas. (Totally skeeved me out, especially since we're uber-clean, and have 3 small children; one of which had some in her hair, and was bitten several times, after we found some in her room, where Oliver had recently visited.)

We went ahead and applied (48 hours after the special flea bath, combing, and doing several other preventive measures to rid our home of these disgusting, most unwelcome blood-sucking pests...), and hoped for the best. Since it was applied, 24 hours ago (12 hours more than it said it would take to be effective...), we checked with the fine tooth flea comb again, and the MOST amount of LIVE FLEAS were in the VERY SPOT THIS WAS APPLIED! Easily 4+ live fleas, and over 20 dead were combed off just the top of our cat, and some of his belly. (He wouldn't let us get much further down...and we know there were some in his crotch area, as well, after we'd given him a bath earlier in the week.) That does NOT bode well for a product, and we are going to contact company for a refund immediately. Needless to say, VERY unhappy with product; just thankful it didn't kill/cause (currently...although we're still watching...) any adverse effects for my Oliver!

We applied Sentry Pro XFT to our 2 year-old, 53 pound lab mix this morning, with dose for 40 to 60 pound dogs. She had immediate and severe negative reaction, including frantic and incessant scratching, running around frenetically (unusual for her), panting and shaking and crying out of obvious pain. I have used other flea products by Frontline on other pets, and never had a problem, so was surprised and very concerned. When her extreme discomfort continued, I wiped her skin with a cloth to remove the product. When her scratching and crying persisted, I followed the box directions and washed her with soap and lots of water. The symptoms continued, with constant scratching, jumping about out of pain, whimpering. I called the hotline number on the package, and was told there was "no health concern", but to wash her again with dish soap and apply cold compresses and vitamin E, and wait 24 to 48 hours for the symptoms to subside.

When I asked about danger of paralysis or death, such as reported here, the "vet" laughed and claimed there has never been a death or serious health problem due to this product. While I cannot testify to the accuracy of reports here, given my own experience with my pet today I can safely say this product must be banned. With integrity, I ask that others who have had problems with this product request their pet stores to immediately remove Sentry Pro XFT from their shelves, and to direct store managers to this 300+ reviews which attest to the product's dangerous side effects. I, for one, will boycott my Petco store until they remove Sentry Pro XFT from their store and to promise to never offer Sentry flea products again. I washed him the next day and he seemed much better, not trying to use everything as a scratch post, but he still continued to itch himself, which he has NEVER done before, behind his ears and his butt. I thought maybe there was still some on him so I gave him another bath and still the same thing. After 24 hours of administering this so called medication one of our cats had become very sick - vomiting, labored breathing, diarrhea, and laid on the floor and died. We thought maybe it was a coincidence until only a couple hours later another cat treated lay on the floor lifeless and died. The other two cats seemed to be ill but not as ill so we kept an eye on them until the next day and noticed they refused to eat, drink, and started showing symptoms the other two cats had displayed prior to dying. We quickly called and rushed them to the vet where they were diagnosed with being poisoned and the only treatment was fluid to try and flush their bodies of the toxins. After receiving treatments they seemed to perk up a bit but only to take a major turn for the worse the following day when we noticed yet another one of them lying on the floor completely lifeless, barely clinging to life.

Again another rushed trip to the vet where they tried to save him but he died within minutes of arriving at the vet's office. We returned home to find our fourth cat displaying the same lifelessness and immediately returned to the vet with her, again the vet administered fluids along with antibiotics to try to counter the poisons in her body. Now at this point we have watched three of our four cats die and the fourth barely hanging onto life having a hard time walking, not eating, becoming very dehydrated, and having trouble getting air into her lungs all because we as many have trusted the products on the shelves of our pet supply store and attempted to treat our pets with medication which we are made to believe is safe to give them only to see them die a horrible and very painful death.

Sentry Fiproguard Max for dogs - I used this product on my sweet 3 lb chihuahua and it had a horrible outcome. After losing her appetite she would vomit, was very weak and unable to stand. I took her to the vet and she said there was nothing they could do for her. I brought her home to die. She passed away in my arms at 2 in the morning. I have contacted the company, I was also featured on a local news station and I have petitions circulating to get this product removed from - No other animal or family should ever have to go through this!

Sentry tick & flea squeeze-On for dogs - My dog died from this product. I took her to the vet when I noticed an issue. About 24 hours later she was dead. I took her to the lab where test were performed. It was due to the product. They offered $65.00 toward a new pet and some money toward the medical bill. About $200.00 total they offered. I just want the label changed. It said nothing about my dog could have an adverse reaction and die... ugh. Heartbroken... I do have photos and the reports on file.

Sentry Fiproguard Max harmed my cat. After application, she became lethargic and was averse to touch. She was experiencing pain at the application site and would not stop licking herself. Her breathing was rapid and since she already suffers from asthma, I was very worried about her. I was shocked to see all the negative reviews online and horrified to see that this product seems to kill animals on a regular basis!

Thankfully, I saw that vets were prescribing prednisone for the reaction she was having. I happened to have some of her asthma-related prednisone left over and gave her a dose. Within 2.5 hours, her breathing had slowed somewhat and she was able to stop licking herself and finally fall asleep. The poor thing curled up on my chest and wouldn't move. I thought things were fine until several days later, I noticed she hadn't been using her litter box. This is a common sign of a urinary tract issue... Is it a coincidence that it started right after Fiproguard Max? Possibly, but I don't think so. And to think my baby and I got off easy...

Second day after application, both my dogs are stumbling around losing use of their rear leg. The one I assume they used to scratch like crazy at application site. Toxic, take dogs to vet asap! I cannot afford, I will contact company. I'm furious! They have sores in a few areas. Lethargic. I'm going to do what I can to get this off shelves! I encourage all to do the same.

Sentry fiproguard cat flea drops - They don't work whatsoever. They didn't even make the fleas sick, much less kill them. I comb him daily as well and am still getting healthy fleas off him 3 weeks after applying the drops. I'm going back to pet armour drops. They work (I didn't have time to run to walmart for them).

I purchased Sentry from Petco ten days ago. Twenty-four hours after applying it as directed on my kitten, he was unable to walk and having convulsions. He also had foam around his mouth. After speaking with an emergency vet, I was advised that he had been poisoned. I bathed him in Dawn but his shaking got even worse. Fortunately, I was able to get him to the vet. I have been told he will be fine. His system needs to be flushed, though, and he will have to be given muscle relaxers. This flea prevention medication, according to the reviews on this website, have paralyzed or killed several pets. DO NOT BUY SENTRY FLEA PREVENTION! YOU COULD BE MURDERING YOUR OWN PET!

I purchased this product at Petsmart yesterday (the clerk I spoke with had no idea what hot spots were or what any of the products did) in hopes of clearing up my dog's hot spots on her underbelly (I have a 5-yr old Golden Retriever/Boxer mix) and applied as directed. Within an hour she was vomiting and foaming at the mouth, unsteady on her feet and just plain miserable for over 4 hours until she went to sleep after what I assume was just from sheer exhaustion. I re-read the package for the Hot spot treatment and there are no warnings or anything regarding allergies or what to do in case of adverse reaction to the medication. I just wish I'd googled this product first and read these stories before subjecting my dog to the pain and torture that she had to go through last night. Please... please.. Do not use this product on your animal and thoroughly research the product and ingredients first before using on your pet.

The sales associate at PetSmart convinced me to buy Sentry Fipromax Guard for my cat to protect her against ticks. Upon application, the cat immediately began to vomit and moan in pain. All of the fur at the application site fell out, and my cat was left with painful blisters and oozing chemical burns on her neck. She remained sick for the next two weeks, barely able to eat or drink. Our house is now overrun with fleas. TL;DR: Flea drops cause chemical burns and toxicity issues for weeks. Did not kill fleas.

At the same time I also applied it to my cat who disappeared the same time my dog became paralyzed. Never to be seen again. DO NOT APPLY THIS TO ANY CREATURE!!

So I just treated one of my cats mere moments ago. She started running in circles and foaming at the mouth. I washed it off as quickly as I could. I'm hoping she will be ok. She was a neighborhood stray (the owners kicked her out and then moved away) and my daughter kind of adopted it after hers was hit by a car. Reading the other posts here, I'm scared that we may lose her now. How do I tell a 5 year old that both her cats are gone? The lady at petco ranted and raved about this product, saying that it didn't have one of the ingredients that frontline did so it was safer. I would just need to treat 3 times in 28 day intervals. Never again. So help me if this cat dies.

I sprayed my cat with Sentry PurrScriptions Flea and Tick Spray and my beautiful Siamese cat began Vomiting, incontinence (diarrhea) and then foaming from the mouth. I used the product as directed on bottle. I bought it at Pet Supplies Plus. I rushed him to my vet and my vet sent me to the nearest Vet emergency room.

They said he had pyrethrin poisoning. Why would they sell such a product?

The Vets both told me this was a very bad product. The hospital Vet said that they get at least 1 animal a week with this poisoning from this product. WHY DO THEY STILL SELL IT? I feel so bad that I had put this crap on my pet and he got sick!!! It has been 1 day since I got him home and he is very quiet and still will not eat. These people need to be stopped. I wish I would have researched first but I did not think that a pet store that is so humane with animals would sell this crap. I will watch and see if my cat gets any better. It was very traumatic for us both.

They gave her a pill to kill fleas in 15 minutes and by Front line. That was all I ever used on my dog. It always worked. I READ THE REVIEWS... This product should be taken off the market. 288 customers that had real serious problems, "THANK GOD IT DIDN'T HAPPEN TO MY BABIES."

I have a 38# basset/pointer mix and have always kept up with his flea and tick treatments (frontline). I had him in for his 6 month checkup and vaccinations just yesterday and he came out with flying colors. The vet said he will probably be tired the rest of the day because of the shots, which he was. This morning he was up and back to his normal playful self, so at 7:30 I gave him his flea/tick treatment. At 10:30 he began shaking and by 11:00 was hardly able to walk without stumbling. I immediately called the vet, but they were not able to talk to me and said they would call back. After about 20 minutes, noticing that his condition was getting worse I just decided to take him in. They are giving him a hot bath to get this off of his skin and anti-seizure medication and monitoring him for a couple hours to make sure he is okay. I called Sergeant's (Mfgr of Sentry) to log a complaint about this product and will be returning it to PetSmart for a refund.

I want to give no stars, but that is not an option. We bought Sentry Natural Defense (spice scent) and applied as directed to my 14-year-old pug. The smell was overwhelming and I should have washed off immediately. Several days later, he had a seizure in the middle of the night that lasted one to two minutes. He was never the same after this. He had loss of balance, vision, tremors, restlessness, trouble sleeping, crying, and labored breathing. His breathing became progressively worse, and had to let him ago less than a week later. My wife and I are so heartbroken. :(

I used this medication on my cat and a few days later she could barely walk. It started with her being lethargic, twitching when you touched the application spot on her neck, and only being able to take a few steps before falling over. I took her to my vet and they washed off the medicine, ran blood work and X-rays, the whole work up. He told me that she was definitely poisoned by the medication, not that she accidentally licked it but that it had gone through her skin and poisoned her. She lost all the hair on the application spot and still had a hard time walking.

My vet suggested fluid therapy and we continued that for 3 days the first week. She seemed to be getting better... Well not better but now she could take 5 to 8 steps before falling over. The second week she was still ill so I took her back and the doctor started fluid therapy again and this time she seemed to respond better to a steroid. There were tests run to make sure she didn't have a secondary condition occurring and the doctor again recommended fluid therapy and at home steroids; she spent another 3 days in the vet's office getting treatment.

The third week we went back for a checkup and she seemed to be stable. Not better but not getting worse. I was continuing giving her steroids for another week. Week 4 is when the steroids started to taper off and 27 days after Sentry was applied she took a turn for the worse. She couldn't walk, stand, lift her head, and she couldn't move to get to the bathroom. At that point I knew that she wasn't living a quality life and on day 28 she passed. This product caused brain and nerve damage in my little cat and I cannot believe that they sell this in stores designated for animals. I am so lucky that my other animals didn't get this product. Beware of Sentry! I just wish I would have seen reviews before I bought it.

Bought fiproguard plus at petsmart as an alternative to frontline price. I used the 45-88 lb pack on my young adult siberian husky. Awful mistake. My dog seemed immediately irritated as I applied the product and was very lethargic for two days and seemed uncomfortable. He was restless and would not lie down for very long. Plus he avoided anything that had the fiproguard scent and would hide. Do not use this product and spend some extra money on a reliable and proven brand like frontline.
