The product I bought is SentryPro XFC flea and tick killer. I put this product on my son's pit bull in July. He became violently ill, throwing up everywhere, and acting in general as if he were the most miserable creature alive. He is always the most lovable animal. He was just absolutely miserable and eating grass as if he had not eaten in a month. We had also given him a bone I had bought at the same time and thought that maybe that was what had made him sick. I stayed up with him and "babied" him until finally, he was able to settle down and eat real food. I cooked him bland rice and force fed him.

After running out of Frontline, I went to the grand opening of the new PetSmart in Woburn, MA to purchase some more. I did not realize they don't sell it. I was told that Sentry Pro XFC is just "as good" and I should follow the directions and use it. I brought it home and followed the directions. About an hour later, my dog was vomiting, shaking, panting, crying, and scratching excessively.

After giving my dog Sentry Pro Flea medicine, she started itching and moving around continuously, heavily panting, growling and snapping, and whining. She has been to the Pet ER twice in one night. This second time she went, the vet had to hospitalize her. I am posting this as a warning that Sentry Pro can do damage to your dog just like Sergeant Flea and Tick Dip.

I put Sentry Pro on my dog's neck for flea and tick control, and it made my dog sick! He's shaking his head constantly and has scratched a bloody spot where this poison was applied! He can't get settled, is very fretful, and can't sleep! This stuff is crap, and I'll never use it again!

We used the Sentry XFC Pro on our dog exactly as indicated on the box. Within 3 hours, our dog was coughing. We let her out of her crate and gave her some fresh air which seemed to help. But then, within a few hours after that, she started to foam and drool excessively at the mouth. We gave her a bath at 4:30, and by this time, our dog, who normally sleeps at least 10 hours at night was still restless and awake for the entire night. After we gave her a bath and some food, she stopped drooling and seemed to be better. We also called Sentry and filed a complaint and our case number is **.

This e-mail is to warn pet owners that they should not buy flea treatments from pet stores. Believe me, it may cost a little more at the vet, but you can save your self money and your pet's life in the long run. We purchased flea protection from Petco for our pets under the Sentry brand (apparently made by Sargeants). 24 hours later, we had a cat having seizures at the emergency vet clinic. Right after our cat, a pug was brought in for the same thing. Thankfully, the cat is only suffering mild tremors as she recovers. Hopefully, the dog did as well as she did.

After using this product on my cat, she became extremely ill in less than an hour. She was trembling, hissing, growling and scratching at the area I put the product and her eyes were dilated and she appeared to hurt all over because she would not let me touch her. I rushed her to the vet after a phone call to the after hours clinic and she was treated with steroids, Benadryl and bathed. She is home now where I am to watch her closely. She is very ill. I cannot believe I did this to my own cat with a product that was recommended by an employee at PetSmart. I totally trusted that something on the market should be safe for my cat. I will be horrified if my baby does not recover from this. After reading all the comments on this site about this product, it is hard for me to believe this product is still for sale. Isn't there anything we can do?

We applied the flea oil to our 1-year-old kitty at the beginning of June, and she freaked out! Running around in circles and panting. She calmed down, but the next day started scratching and licking the area. She lost her fur in about a 1-inch wide by 2-inch long section. The vet said she had an allergic reaction and he gave her an anti inflammatory shot and topical powder to ease the pain. The pet store refunded my money. I filed a complaint with Sergeant's for our vet bill and am still waiting to hear from them.

I purchased Sentry XFC flea liquid product at PetSmart in Redding, California. I applied it to my four dogs. My smallest dog, a pug, has had a severe skin reaction to it. It looks like her skin has been burned off at the application site. My son is taking her to the vet right now. Do not use this product. It is toxic.

We bought this poison at PetSmart thinking, "Of course, if they sell it at PetSmart, it's safe.” I put it on our Shih Tzu Lhasa Apso mixes around 9, and by 9:30 I was washing it off of both dogs. They were whining, scratching and looked miserable. Finally, after washing them twice with dog shampoo and once with dawn, we ended up taking them to the vet at 12 a.m. One of our dogs was watering at the mouth so much so that he left a trail everywhere he went. $110 and 2 hours later, it looks like they'll be ok, but this product is terrible. Even our vet thought the product had already been pulled. There really should be a lawsuit against PetSmart and SentryPro XFC. Hell, I may sue them myself.

Sentry Natural Defense Flea & Tick Squeeze-On for Cats & Kittens.

I recently purchased Sentry Natural Flea & Tick Squeeze-On for Cats and Kittens for my cat. I applied the product as directed on the package. Almost immediately after I applied the product, I noticed my cat was trying to scratch the application area. The next day I noticed that she was losing clumps of fur at the application site and her skin was irritated and very scaly.

I recently purchased Sentry Pro XFC for my beloved Beagle. At first, the first couple of hours, there was not an issue. But then she started indicating she was thirsty--opening her mouth and sticking her tongue out. She then started to go through panic mode from the bed to the floor and roll on her back. It was clear she was in discomfort.

I purchased Sentry's oatmeal flea & tick shampoo and the monthly ointment from PetSmart on April 17th, 2009 because I saw a flea on my dog, Max. Since I didn't have any Frontline at home, I raced out to PetSmart and was told by a clerk that Sentry is very good to use. I used it on my other dog, Maggie May, too. They both had the same reaction as all the other dogs on this site. I feel so stupid. I always do research before I give my dogs anything new. I will not feed them anything that has chemicals in it. They are on a raw meat & vegetable diet and I do believe being that they are so healthy because of their diet, they were able to fight the poisons from Sentry's horrible products. I hope everyone's doggies get better with no permanent damage. Does anyone know who I can file a complaint with where it will matter? Thanks!

My dogs started foaming at the mouth, got burns, were severely sick, and shaking. This is disgusting and horrible to put an animal through. They need to take this off the market or put much bigger warnings in place

I purchased Sentry Flea & Tick Control Pro XFC for our 6-month-old puppy on 4/7/09 from PetSmart. I applied the product (5:30PM on 4/7/09) as directed on the box. Within 45 minutes to 1 hour, our puppy couldn't sit still. He was scratching, biting and jumping around as if someone (or something) was hitting him with a hot poker. My wife and I washed him twice with puppy shampoo and that only seemed to make it worse. As it was 8PM at this point, we called our vet's pager. He called us right back. He told us to give him Benadryl, bathe him with dish soap, and call him in the morning if he was not better. We gave our puppy the vet's recommended doses of Benadryl throughout the night and washed him with the dish soap and cool water three more times.

On Tuesday, I purchased and applied Sentry flea and tick control to my two dogs - one 95-pound black lab and one 20-pound fox terrier mix. What a mistake! I ended up working late on Wednesday and received a call from my wife that both dogs were acting like they were on fire. The lab has had no health issues and is kind of a glutton for punishment (running through barbed wire fences and such, never complaining that it hurts) and the little guy is a rescue from Mexico and has had a few allergies. My wife gave both of the dogs baths with an oatmeal shampoo which seemed to help the lab but the little one still couldn't sit still.

I used the flea product on my pet following the directions on the box for the appropriate weight group. Within an hour of application, my puppy began drooling and foaming at the mouth, vomiting several times, biting, scratching self, chewing paws, unable to settle self and be still. It was as if something would bite or burn him just as he seemed to catch a moment's peace. He didn't stop moving for more than about 5 minutes at a time. He could hardly take more than 4 steps before flipping back onto himself trying to bite his tail, back or scratch his ear. He was bathed with Dawn soap within 2 hrs of application with some relief but the self-attacks and constant movement continued.

I was out of town and it was time for my pet's treatment, so I ran to Petsmart and bought the Sentry XFC so I didn't get the dog off track. Within hours, she started biting, drooling, itching, vomiting constantly, not eating and running like she has a nervous condition. i called the hotline to ask them what to do which was wash 3 times in dish soap and apply vitamin E to the area. AS of the moment, which has been a couple hours, she is still having muscle problems and still vomiting and still biting her feet.

On 1/18/08, I used Sergeant's flea & tick product, Sentry Pro XFC, according to instructions, on my 10 lb. dog. I left the house for a few hours and when I returned she had vomited, urinated and defecated all over the house. She was foaming at the mouth and jerking her body. I rushed her to the vet where he administered an IV and kept her overnight. She pulled thru, but was still not acting normal (hiding in dark places) twitching and licking incessantly after 2 weeks. I took her back to the vet where he did a recheck and gave her a Baytril injection with take-home meds (1/28/08).

I used a flea and Tick product called SENTRY PRO XFC on my two dogs and it made them VERY ILL. Their hair in the spot it was applied fell out. They got lethargic, vomiting foam, wouldn’t eat. This stuff is horrible poison. There are posts all over the internet about this stuff. They know about it and did nothing except tell everyone they had to follow the directions! The directions are so brain dead simple you can’t get it wrong. That’s an insulting response from Sergeants. I had many vet bills and lost time from work. Not to mention having to deal with my young children making sure they didn't get infected with the SENTRY PRO poison. Lots of anguish watching my dogs suffer.

I lost the combination to my sentry safe. I called the company and I was told that the safe i purchased in hazleton was credit back to the loews store in hillsboro nj. I was then told that this safe was not to be resold it was to be destroyed and that they had no combination to give me do to the fact that it wasn't to be resold. I spoke with someone in customer service in the hazleton store about the matter with no help given except to call the hillsboro store. after calling and explaning the situation to the store supervisor. I was told that he would call me back. it has now been three day with no return call. I feel that i'm getting the run around from this company. I've never been to Hillsboro N.J. I purchased this safe in Hazleton PA. I was also given a destroy number by the company and a ref number and a claim number. i cannot lock the safe although i have keys to the safe because of the combination, therefore i'm stuck with a 300.00 paper weight
