My dogs love this Purina Pro Plan Weight Control! Their hair is shiny and soft, and it keeps them energized and looking fantastic! They are six years old and they are active and lively and shiny and beautiful! I think it is is the best food we have ever tried, and for sure we will be using it forever!

I know that it is this wet food from Purina that has messed my dog's belly up. We only give it as a rare treat and three weeks ago that's exactly what we did and instantly he had diarrhea and is still three weeks later with very loose bowel movements and whines because his belly isn't well. My next step if it doesn't stop today is a trip to the vet... Thanks Purina! Never again!

This is his third bag of Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach and he seems to pick at his food. His coat is shinier but that seems to be the only difference I see. I may have to search for something that will agree with him. The food is costly and not helping his stomach or skin issues.

I switched my dogs from Iams to Purina One about eight months ago. After my daughter moved out the dogs started to exhibit some depressed behavior and dandruff like flaking of their skin. Their hair started to fall out and leave big bare spots. I first attributed it to depression, but I soon learned that it could be their dog food so I changed them to Purina One Sensitive Systems and their skin has improved and they both seem happier. No more bare spots.

I have been buying Purina Puppy Chow for my small dogs since 2008. They have small mouths and can't chew the adult dog food. Last night I bought a new bag of dog food and fed my Pomeranian. Today I came home and she is dead. No puncture wounds or blood just a discharge coming from her bottom. She was perfectly fine last night before she ate. I'm heartbroken and my kids will be too. She was healthy and spunky yesterday. I don't understand what's wrong.

I have been feeding Purina products for years without incident until lately. First the Goat Chow I was feeding was Purina sweet feed the newer one with natural vitamins and $19.99 a bag and Purina Grower 16 because it had the stuff for wethered goats to prevent urinary calculi. TO MY HORRORS I FOUND METAL PIECES IN THE FEED. I called Tractor Supply where I bought the feed and was told there wasn't any recalls but to bring it back for a refund or new bags. I gave the METAL pieces to them and received a refund for the 6 bags of feed. I didn't know which bag it came from and I definitely wasn't going to buy more bags. The pieces I found the goats wouldn't eat they were about the size of a dime. Thank God they didn't eat them but the pieces broke apart when I touched them so I was worried sick because how many tiny pieces did they eat.

Recently, I found Purina Complete Adult dog food in the light green packing. I always read the ingredients of any dog food I intend to buy for my dogs. I always make sure there are no BHA nor any similar ingredients. Purina Complete Adult has a variety of tastes for my dogs and they instantly liked it. Especially, when I mix it with a little broth, beef or chicken. And, it is reasonably priced. Not expensive, at all.

AVOID THIS FOOD PURINA JOINT AND MOBILITY - My baby dislocated both knees a few months back. After going to our vet they told us to give him this food. Before this he had been on Taste of The Wild for years and had no medical problems. 1st few weeks we switched over while he was on pain meds. I didn't think much about it because all the meds said they could upset the stomach. After getting off the meds we noticed 1st stool of the day was mostly firm 2nd stool was like playdoh. Everyday it was like this. Then we noticed he was licking his paw then biting his paw. (Hotspot) Then the head toss like his ears hurt. (Long hair. Checked the ears they were ok.) Then the wheezing and sneezing.

We have a Maltese/Shi. Had skin problems with other dog food. Finally put her on Beyond white meat chicken dry food and no more problems. However, I only need a small bag at a time and all stores except Target don't carry the smaller bag. I would recommend this to everyone.

This food made my cats go into liver failure! As soon as I stopped feeding my cats this food they started getting better 2-3 days later! This food should be taken off shelves and Purina naturals as well!!! Do not feed this to your cats! It was recalled once already and should be recalled again and taken off shelves. If you love your pet do not feed them this food!!! My cats almost died eating this.

I also have been feeding my cat Fancy Feast for years. She loves it. Lately some flavors are turning red like blood if out for a while. I thought the cat was bleeding. I called Purina and got some half a dollar word for the problem about air causing the red. He said do not give her the food cause it is dangerous. I asked if this meant do not use their product and how am I supposed to feed her if I do not open the can. He said he would send me coupons. I am not interested in coupons. I am afraid to give her the food now. Only certain flavors do this, I have pictures but I can only send them to a phone number. It looks exactly like blood in the food. Please help me because they seem like they are not interested in the problem and there definitely is a problem. They did not take the upc code or can info. That is not proper company concern procedure. I am very upset with them.

If you love your pets, DO NOT let them eat Purina brand foods. All of my indoor, otherwise healthy cats ALL got sick at the same time after eating Purina Friskies. Right now one female is extremely sick, and I don't know if she's going to make it. The other 3 are sick, vomiting, won't eat, or will barely eat. Where's the FDA now? This poison shouldn't be allowed to be sold ANYWHERE!

Like many others I had issues with Purina One Smart Blend. Dog was really sick with nuero and gastro symptoms. We nursed her back to health and once we reintroduced her to Purina she went downhill. :(

I found a 3/4 inch nail in my Purina Brand dog food. I contacted them the moment I found it. They acknowledged it happens and they are sorry, they will send me a overnight envelope to return the nail. Well 3 weeks later no overnight envelope. Check your bags of dog food for metal parts and nails that come off the machines in the production line. Look at it before you pour or scoop it into your bowls. Use a magnet and run it over your food. Take a few extra seconds and save your pet's life. The company cares more about profits than buying magnets for the end of the production line to pull out the metal nails and parts that come off and fall out of the machines. This is a specialized 3/4" nail with a round head, super razor sharp.

2009, I had the most horrible experience. I was feeding Cat Chow to my cats and ferals too. All my feral cats had died, and I had lost three of my indoor cats. Please DO NOT feed your pets any Purina brands. I did since 2009, when my vet told me that its made in China. Tell anyone you know not to buy it, I do, every chance I get. Thank you.

So, I've just transitioned to Purina Pro Plan Bright Minds at the recommendation of a friend/trainer. When I opened the bag I noticed something white on a couple of the bits of kibble and thought nothing of it because it resembled the chicken bits in the Savor food I feed a younger dog. Then I found a maggot. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that there are hundreds of maggots in the bag.

My husband bought the Purina Waggin Train for our 2 dogs about a month ago. I was feeding them 1 half a strip once or twice a week. My mixed breed threw up a few different times but I didn't know why. He never seemed "sick". I ran out of our normal treats and gave them the chicken treats this past Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 1/2 a treat each, twice a day. Now, my bulldog is lethargic, has heavy vomiting, diarrhea and restlessness, like he's in pain. He's going to the vet tomorrow but I will throw away EVERY PURINA PRODUCT I HAVE. On another note Purina Beneful caused my friend's small dog to have seizures which stopped once he stopped feeding his dog Beneful. A coworker also fed her dog Original Purina and her dog is very very sick and she has been to the vet several times and has just been informed that she needs to take her dog to MSU for testing. Her dog has internal bleeding. Cancer has been ruled out. Purina kills pets!!!

My 3 dogs have been eating Purina One SmartBlend for a few years now. I just bought another bag from Walmart about a week ago and one of my dogs has been vomiting and with diarrhea. This has been going on for a few days now. It seemed to have cleared up but he didn't eat much on Sunday and very little on Monday. Yesterday he seemed to have his appetite back and I've been up all night with him. He has been vomiting, shaking and diarrhea. I went online to find out about if the dog food could be the issue. To my surprise, many other people have been experiencing this same problem after their dog(s) ate Purina One. What is going on? I've been trying to find a number for the Purina One company but no luck.

When my vet originally, told me my cat had crystals and needed to on special food, I was terrified and slightly broke. I did some research and discovered this food. My vet seemed to think it was okay as long as he wasn't getting crystals... Well, a food that is supposed to protect the kidney and bladder in a cat has caused kidney disease in mine. He is 10, so not super old for a cat, but he's middle-aged. For kidney disease, this is early. Purina caused this and I'm terrified my cat won't survive this horrible disease. Switching his food immediately.

We began buying Purina One Smart Blend at Walmart about 5 weeks ago. Now two of my 3 dogs have uncontrollable diarrhea. The dog who got sick first was put on a 12 hour fast then fed rice and cooked chicken for a couple days. Then we reintroduced the Purina and she is sick again. Now my other dog is sick too. Now we know it is the food. No more Purina!

On Oct 6th 2016 I starting feeding my cat a new box of deli cat food that I usually buy at Family Dollar in JCNJ Martin Luther Dr. This particular box I had purchased from same name store different location in JC. After feeding my cat his morning meal about 9 am. He seemed to be fine running around and playing as normal. Between 10 am and 11 am I noticed he had thrown up his morning meal. At that time didn't think much of it. Around 7 pm he began to start yowling in pain and it continued all night. My son told me he might just have a stomach bug and it will pass.

I am so disgusted to report that twice I purchased the largest size bag of Purina One SmartBlend and found moths inside. I always pour the dog food into a plastic dispenser. At first I did not realize the moths were coming from the dog food. Now my house is infested with moths.

All my pet food goes from the bag into a sealed container. There is no question in my mind that this stuff has moths or moth larvae. What a shame. I've used Purina Dog/Cat chow for years & years and my animals have always lived long, healthy lives. I realize there is no risk to the animal, but I can't take the chance of these things spreading into the pantry and who knows where else. What a loss. Now I've got to start buying some of that fancy crap instead of a tried & true product. Oh well. All good things must come to an end.

I bought a bag of Purina Indoor Cat Chow on September 23, 2016, in Kent, WA. My cats started to have messy bowel movements, which I attributed to a change in diet. But by the end of one week the issue had progressed to diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, and loss of appetite, as well as pained crying and irritability. My five-month-old kittens got through this with only mild digestive upset, but all four of my senior cats (ages 13-16) grew deathly ill. Three have seen the vet; two appear to be improving; the fourth will be taken into the vet tomorrow if there is no improvement tonight in her condition, which over the past two days seems to have gotten worse. The oldest had to be put down; she was too frail to withstand the assault on her body.

I have a 1 1/2 old Golden Retriever who has a sensitive stomach. He has been using the Purina Pro Plan without any issues up until the last month. I had just purchased a large bag about a month ago when I noticed my dog starting throwing up and had diarrhea. I would put him on a BRAD diet to help alleviate the symptoms and within 4-5 days he would get better. Then, I'd slowly reintroduce his normal diet again. Soon the dog would be sick again! We struggled with this for about 6 weeks off and on.

I purchased dog food from Purina. My dog was so sick. They are poison, Beggin' Strips. He is a 12 yr old Pomeranian in great health until he ate those treats. Throwing up, not responding to his name. I knew right away it was the food. I was hoping it would pass but he would not eat or drink. I was up for 2 nights. He did come around but I did take him to the vet to get checked out. Called Purina. Never responded or called to check on the dog. I think this stuff is so full of poisons. I just thank God he recovered. I am so concerned for other dogs that didn't make it. So sad these huge company get away with anything.

My cat died eating Purina One. I rescued an Orange Tabby cat in November 2013 from the Humane Society. He was about 11 months old when I adopted him. He had annual vet exams, immunizations, good care. He was strictly indoors so was safe from outside dangers. He ate Purina One dry food exclusively. Two months ago in July the cat started to vomit periodically after eating and had trouble passing urine. Sept 9-11 the cat vomited daily after eating and was very lethargic. I took him to the vet on Monday Sept 12. The vet took blood and urine samples and found high levels of crystals in the urine. The vet warned that could lead to urine blockage.

Bought a 16 lb. bag of Purina One Dry Cat Food from PetSmart and stored it with an open bag and a sealed bag of cat food in my closet, as I've been doing for a decade. A few weeks later, I opened the new bag and it was infested with bugs. They had also infested the other cat food around it. This is disgusting. There were tons of bugs in the bag I was using also. So I wonder how long I fed my cats bugs and bug carcasses. Years ago I bought a bag of Purina Pro Plan Dry Dog Food for my Satine, who has since passed away, and the top of the bag was covered with a white, web-like substance. The whole bag was infested with meal moths. Something is wrong with Purina food and I'm not feeding it to my animals anymore.

On July 1st, 2012, my kitten suddenly had a seizure and then collapsed onto the floor, screaming and defecating. After that he was incredibly lethargic and then the next day July 2nd, he was lying on the floor, barely breathing. We took him to the vet and he died on the car ride there. He was only 3 months old and they had no idea how he died when they took him into the surgery room. I was feeding him Purina Kitten Chow. I never thought about it until reading these reviews that Purina's food could've killed him. RIP Poog <3

My 2 cats 5 weeks ago would not eat this brand food when they grew up on the same food and had no previous problem. They were vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite and turned away from the food. After 2 weeks one of my cat became very sick, went into hiding and started to lose weight. 3 week went to see the Veterinarian and by that time it was too late. His liver enlarged and pushing on the stomach so badly that even the water would not stay down. He was throwing it up. The damage was so advanced that he had to be put in sleep. My other cat was able to vomit the food and became better after 4 weeks.

On the advice of my vet, we switched our retrievers to Purina -- specifically Purina ONE SMARTBLEND Healthy Weight Formula Adult Dog Food - Turkey. There are MOTHS coming out of the secure container I keep the food in. The kibble goes directly from the bag to this lidded container and I can't believe it. I read previous reviews initially upon switching and thought for sure it was a storage issue -- nope, it's a production issue. If my dogs didn't already eat bugs and other disgusting things this would totally gross me out. Surely Purina should have better quality control.

I noticed the Chicken pieces of my Purina Pro plan chicken and rice dog food had white on them. I have been using this dog food for 6 years and never noticed the white before. So I cut it open and there was a maggot in it. A LOT of the chicken pieces have the white--I cut several more open -same thing. So I go online to Purina and write to them. Then I google Purina pro plan chicken bug--and I see all these other people saying the same thing--white on the chicken pieces and bugs inside.

I have always bought Purina cat food off and on throughout the years and I've not had a problem with them and eating it. I just bought a bag and my two cats went a day and a half without eating and my Chihuahua who loves cat food and sneaks it when she can has also refused to eating it. Apparently, they are sensing that something is wrong with this food and I am returning it back to Walmart. I have posted this on Facebook and gotten several replies about how many dissatisfied customers there are about Purina products. I will not buy Purina cat products or dog products again.

Purina Pro Plan Adult Shredded Blend Chicken and Lamb - We have always bought this brand food for our dogs. However the last 3-4 months now we have had moths hatching in the food and it is disgusting. I was told that "Yeah that happens sometimes from the grains we use," but they are continuing to sell this item.

I have been having problems with this company since the end of May. The last few bags of "light and healthy" had tiny little moths in them that would fly all throughout the house every time I opened the sealed container to feed my furbaby. I contacted them at the end of May to complain, and was told someone would get back to me with 24-48 hours. This is their standard reply to emails. I waited about 2 weeks, then followed up with another email, and many, many phone calls. Each call, I was promised something would be done, but so far, as of today (8/11), nothing promised has come to fruition. When it came time to purchase new food, I went to another brand which my baby is loving. My main frustration with this company is that so many times I have been promised things and NOTHING happens. They have lost a customer forever, not only for the bad product but for the horrible customer service.

I can tell you that there was at least one recall of Purina cat Chow. However, they kept it quiet. I will tell you what happened. I have fed cat chow for 30 years and bought lots of it. One fall or early winter, I bought a bag and immediately all the cats had very bad diarrhea and vomiting. They had to have antibiotics because of salmonella. One cat had a rectal prolapse and that cost me $400 to fix. Another one started having liver issues and lived on medications for several years but I eventually had to have him euthanized because of liver failure. He had no problems before the Salmonella and constant liver issues after recovery from the bacteria.

She had constipation at first then later on she developed diarrhea and then sadly to say she has passed away. I am so sorry for your loss!!!

I've been feeding my Ragdoll cat, Bromley, Fancy Feast for over 10 years. Up until recently (about a month or two ago) there has been no problem with any of the seafood varieties. Now, Bromley simply turns away from his feeding bowl whenever a fresh can of Fancy Feast is offered. A red ooze is seen collecting at the bottom of his bowl and from within the food once it is left out for a brief time (like an hour). I took pictures of the condition and called the Purina consumer line listed at their website. I would have written, but the website kept freezing and a communication could not be sent. This was on July 26.

I have a 5 year old Shiba Inu and I switched him to Purina Beneful 1 month ago. Within 2 weeks I started noticing symptoms: lethargy, fur loss (his top coat was coming off, not his undercoat which sheds twice a year), weight loss. Four weeks later he was standing next to his sister (different owner and diet) -- they used to be the same colour but now he looked like a ghost next to her -- his fur lost its Shiba red and became very light and greyish. I suspected it was the food, so I switched dog food immediately. I noticed he got his energy and bounce within 1 day after switching away from Purina. Purina is garbage. I can't believe what I'm reading online about it, and now I know firsthand how terrible it is for dogs.

I bought my 5 year old Tuxedo cat a bag of Purina Complete cat food. Within days his fur began to fall off. I didn't know it was the food so I continued to feed it to him and took him to the vet. The vet suspected a flea allergy and he was on flea medication for months with no improvement. His hair had completely fallen out. I eventually switched him to Wellness cat food and in one week his fur started to sprout back, and in a month he was back to his beautiful black and white fur.

Our senior dog (she's a lab/hound mix, weighs about 60 pounds, and is somewhere around 13 to 15 years old; we rescued her two years ago, and her age was only guessed at then) eats only Purina One Lamb and Rice Dog Food. Today I poured her a bowl from a new package. As usual, I put some wet food on top. She devoured the wet food but did not touch the dry food. Our dog is an eager eater, so I was totally puzzled. When I looked at the dog food, it looked very different from the way it usually does. It looked as though water had been poured onto it; the pieces were far larger than usual, and they were oddly shaped. Also, there was a very strong odor coming from the dog food. I don't think I will be feeding her any more of Purina One Lamb and Rice.

I can't believe I'm read other stories similar to mine and many complaints filed with the FDA and nothing is being done about this. This is what I wrote to Purina Sunday: "We have fed our cats Friskies Seafood Variety Pack for quite a while and all 6 really like it, until this most recent pack. I noticed they were not eating as well as they normally do, so I thought maybe they were just getting tired of those flavors until last night when none of them would eat any of it. Starting Wednesday one of our cats starting getting sick. She would not eat or drink, has had vomiting and diarrhea as well. Our kitten started with diarrhea yesterday and today one of our male cats is showing the same symptoms. I'm starting to think there is something wrong with the food. Just didn't associate it until now. Have you had any other complaint? Please let me know ASAP. The one female cat is not getting better and I will probably have to take her to the Vet tomorrow."

The red dyes in this will make your cat get bad gas. My cat got a new bag over a week ago. I thought the colors looked brighter than before. I buy this a few times a year normally. It's Nine Lives, a tan colored. My cat who I had for 16 years ate this kit and caboodle once in a blue. Well my cat could not get to his litter box, had 2 accident on a runner and was doing the third on the hall carpet. Now I have three places that is bright pink from the dyes in this food... Even when I fling the mess off a piece of mess flipped on the runner and within a min it turned pink. My runner is ruined and what if a cat threw up?? OxiClean, Tide, vinegar would not work. It was like a woman dying her hair with red and it went pink that fast... Never will buy. Stay clear, cold kill you cat's kidneys.

My cats have been eating Cat Naturals for years with no problem. A few months ago they added vitamins and minerals to the food. My cats ate much less of the new food than normal. Then suddenly I had several cats with health problems. I have had two cats die from Kidney Failure and another one that was caught early enough to go on medicine. These cats were about 12 years old. Not young, but certainly not old either.

Purina Urinary Health cat food - I have used this cat food for many years without any problems until the last 2 years. I have lost 2 cats with kidney failure, 1 cat has had urinary tract infection, and 1 cat is in the hospital after surgery last night because of stones in the kidney and bladder. I have also noticed that some of the cats vomit after eating. This is the only food they were fed. I have many rescue cats. I do not want to lose them to kidney, bladder problems. What has happened to the food to cause so many problems in a short time? I am on SS and have paid so much trying to keep them alive. But the worse part is that I love these cats and have to watch them be sick or die. They have fresh water every day. I am so upset with Purina.

I have been feeding my cat Purina food for several years without any problems. She always seemed to like it and prefer it over other dry foods. But in the past 6 months or so it has been making my 9 year old cat ill. I did not realize that it was the food at first. But after paying close attention and narrowing it down it has become clear that the Purina food is the cause. My poor cat would start vomiting either almost immediately after eating the Naturals food formula, or within a few hours of consuming it. It seems to be only particular batches/bags of the food because she would sometimes eat it for a whole month with no issues whatsoever... then we would run out of that bag she had been eating, buy a brand new bag of it, and within a few hours of eating food from the new bag she would begin vomiting over and over. She always cried loudly like she was in pain before starting to vomit.

We have two cats. One has been vomiting daily for about 3 years. We've taken her to the vet numerous times, had blood work done, an MRI and a slew of expensive tests for allergies. They never find anything yet she pukes daily. The other cat seems to tolerate Purina kibble but her poop smells unrealistically bad and they both drink more water than is normal. In 40+ years of owning cats I've never seen two cats drink so much water. We've been trying to solve it by changing their wet food but after more than a dozen different brands the vomiting continued. We never once considered that it was the dry food. Why would we?

Please, do your pets a life saving chance and DO NOT feed them anything by Purina or Merrick (they own this brand also)! They may contain toxins, and or other harmful ingredients for your pet. My daughter and son-in-law lost my grand-dogger to acute pancreatitis and chemically induced hepatitis C due to feeding Beneful Healthy Weight food. That was the only thing he ate and could never have gotten poisoned by anything else as he was never out of their sight!

I bought Purina pro plan about two weeks ago for my dog. Stupidly I didn't think about and fed it to her. After all of the bad reviews from their foods I have avoid it like the plague. Well it slipped my mind and Tuesday of this week she was vomiting. Last night she had a staggering walk where she couldn't make it far before sitting or lying down. I let her sleep in my bed because I was worried and at 5 am she peed on herself. It scared us both. She will be vet bound and I will report what happens after. Maybe it's unrelated but I telling you to avoid all of their products.

I have been feeding my cats this food for years with no problem but recently they have all become sick with vomiting and bloody diarrhea. I need a good lawyer. Does anyone know of one? If so please post. My two cats might not make it due to the food. Please help if there is a class action lawsuit then I need to know that. Two of my cats died from eating PURINA Kit n Kaboodle dry cat food! At this point I am very angry that a cat food made for cats kills them! There is no doubt as to what killed my cats that I rescued just to die from a dry cat food!! They were doing good until the bad cat food killed from kidney failure!

This company deserves no stars!!! After my sister switched to this lightweight Tidy Cat Kitty Litter, within days her 3 year old cat developed feline asthma and was rushed to the vet gasping for air. After a hospitalization, the cat came home but remains on expensive medications. After identifying this was the only change made to the cat's environment, an internet search revealed many consumers are having this problem with this litter and many felines have become ill and have even died. Purina has taken to paying vet bill for some of these cases, but has refused to do the responsible thing of pulling it or warning consumers. SHAME ON PURINA, WHO CLAIMS TO LOVE ANIMALS!

Pups have been vomiting along with momma dog. Momma dog would not eat anymore of the Purina. I believe it because she knows something is wrong with it.

Ok, this Friskies canned food has almost killed my senior cat. My 2 younger cats got really sick. Then I was able to figure it out. The pet skunk whom lives in the backyard won't even come near an open can of the stuff. And he's always hungry. Now all the pets have switched to pets' mart store brand food and are doing so much better. I'll never buy food made by this company again.

If I could give less than one star I would. 6 or so years ago we adopted a cat, and 2 years later, we got a kitten. Their entire lives they ate a variety of different foods, trying to find one they liked. Kit & Kaboodle seemed to be good from what we could tell. In hindsight I wouldn't of moved them from the Tractor Supply brand we were getting. I lost both cats to this food in the last month and a half.

I am having the same problem with Purina cat food purchased from SAM's. I shop for my Mom as well and all our cats are sick including feral cats that live in her barn. After reading these reviews I am very concerned. My poor Mother is 85 years old and having to clean up this mess and worried about her kitties. I am taking one of my cats to the vets office today so we can hopefully get the problem identified. My Mother lives 90 miles from me so I can't help her much on a day to day basis. I am wondering what I can trust.

Our pets have always been fed Purina brand foods and we've never been dissatisfied. Last year we started feeding our four dogs (various breeds) Purina One and then switched to Purina One SmartBlend for the "chewy" pieces our dogs preferred. Last month we noticed the bag stated they had added "more soft chewy bits to every bag". We thought the dogs would love it. But, to our surprise, all four dogs, who previously "downed" their food, would hesitate and only nibble. Thinking they weren't used to the consistency change, we continued to feed them the Purina One SmartBlend. Two weeks ago, our 2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback started vomiting every couple days. She would avoid eating. We thought maybe she had gotten into something in the backyard. In between the "sick", she would be fine.

I bought my cat the Purina Naturals with vitamins and minerals on April first, 2016. Today my cat is dying. Why if this is killing our animals are they being allowed to sell this stuff. I went from a having a Beautiful 6 month old, very energetic, playful cat to this in four days? I didn't even know this was happening to others until I got online to ask questions about this product. It is a shame that Purina isn't pulling this POISON off the shelves. Who may I ask is going to help my cat get over this if she isn't dead by morning. I am outraged beyond RAGE...

We have 2 cats who have eaten Purina Naturals Cat food for the past 5 years and both, age 12 and 16, became Diabetic. Our Vet says NO DRY CAT FOOD is good due to the carbs. We lost the 12 year old this week, just could not get the diabetes under control. Better regulation is needed to stop pet food manufacturers from putting trash in our animal food just to boost their bottom line. Don't be fooled by the name, read the label and do your research.

Listen people whatever you do, do not feed your dog this food. If you love him/her you won't even if you can't get anything else. Go and find something different. Purina for some ungodly reasons uses propylene glycol. It's an antifreeze compound. This is what's killing your dog and or making them sick. Glad I read into this. They do make food without it. So if you do feed them Purina make sure it doesn't have propylene glycol.

I gave my 9 yr old cat Beyond. She got sick, drooling from mouth, twitching jaw and face. She had itchy skin and some of her hair was falling out. She couldn't drink out of her bowl. She walked staggering. I took her to the vet. He said she has low blood sugar levels. She might be poisoned. He gave her med. Told me to bring her back 2 days to do some blood work... my friend called said "don't feed her Purina food. It is killing pets." She had read online. I said "what, is it from China?" She said they got bought out and it has poison in it. I changed her food to 9 lives. She doing a little better but weak. Take this poison food off the shelf. How could this company poison our beloved pets. A company that supposed be quality.

I trusted Purina foods for years. Seem safe but past 3 years I had bad luck with purina. My 18 cat died after eating purina beyond. She had diarrhea, shaking head, low blood pressure, low temps. Made 2 loud cries on my couch and died. I spend 500.00 at animal hospital trying save her life. She died June 2013. Then my friend 9 yr cat so sick. She was shaking, mouth twitching, dehydrated, couldn't walk, can't drink out of a bowl, had skin rashes. From purina naturals. He switch to 9 lives. She so much better.

We have 4 indoor cats in my house. Two are 12 years, one is 7 years, and the youngest is about 2 years (recently acquired when my grandmother passed away this past January). We have fed them Purina foods for almost their entire lives. Once they grew into adults we gave them the Indoor Cat Chow. Several months ago one cat started to vomit every day, sometimes twice a day. The other two appeared to be fine. My mom then switched to Purina Cat Chow Sensitive formula. However, Lizzy continued to vomit every day. She was taken to the vet for tests, but they were not conclusive.

My husband & I received a sample package of Purina One SmartBlend from a Petco location in San Antonio as we checked out last Sunday, 2/28/16. I thought twice about taking it but thought, "Oh, I'll just throw it away when we get home." (I have been feeding my dogs organic food for over 20 years). We recently adopted a 10-month old white highland terrier puppy IN PERFECT HEALTH. We also have an 8+ yr old chow/heeler mix, and a 15-yr old minpin mix, both healthy as well. Unbeknownst to me, my husband mixed in the Purina with their regular organic dog food (Acana, Fromm, & one new one I had not purchased before) on Monday night.

What are we to do? Maybe products should be required to be labeled if ANY portion came from outside the country and name the country. I have used Purina because during the initial pet food scare years ago, Purina was not on the list of recalls. So I have exclusively been feeding my dogs and cats Purina products, Little Bites and any Purina cat food. I just switched the cat from Meow Mix to Purina Indoor cat food. She doesn't want to eat this food, maybe for a reason. Starting about a month ago, my dogs started refusing the Little Bites dog food. It will sit in their bowls until they are starving. Something has changed for the worse with this company. I will stop this food, but what next? Will start googling for a better quality product that is not on a recall list. Thank goodness for recall lists.

My husband bought One SmartBlend puppy formula a few days ago by accident for our 10 year old Cattle Dog. We fed him that and later that day, our dog became lethargic, and that night he threw up and had diarrhea. The throwing up and a red-brown diarrhea continued for the next several days until yesterday I realized that it may be related to his food. The other One SmartBlends for adult dogs were not giving him trouble, but it seems that this one may have chemicals or something in it. The serial number on the bag is 53096001 0008L02 and it says on the bag that it was manufactured in St. Louis, MO. We live and bought the dog food in Pittsburgh, PA.

Since I have switched back to Purina pro plan savor my three dogs are lethargic, throwing up, diarrhea, fever. I started them all out on this product when they were puppies then they all got sick. Vet now says food is safe again so I switched back for one week now. Now going back to something other than a Purina product that is killing our dogs slowly.

Purina One Smartblend Large Breed Dog Food - I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews since I've been feeding my four (4) GSD's this product for years with no problems what-so-ever. No diarrhea, no vomiting, nothing at all. They are all very happy and active dogs and in my sole opinion the other reviewers are nuts.

I have been purchasing Purina products for some time now and it seemed that my cats and dog was always getting sick, vomiting and severe diarrhea on many occasions and I couldn't understand why. Just today, February 4, 2016, I was awaken in the middle of the night with one of my cats vomiting again. I thought it was just another hairball, but no hair was found after I fed my animals with this product. After I got up the next morning, after feeding a bowl full of Kitten Chow, I found 5 and a half piles of vomit, with a milky brown substance mixed within.

I bought Purina Wagging Train Chicken Jerky Minis from Price Chopper at Woods Chapel Road Lee's Summit. Gave my dog the treats. He was happy gobbled them up as usual. He loves those treats but in about 15 minutes he retched painfully, his eyes bulging, his tongue lolling out and he could not move. He lay like he was dying. After 15 minutes I was able to raise him and he could hardly walk. This dog is very years old, 55 pounds, a golden and chow mix. He is not eating anything now even real broiled chicken or his regular food. Please stop any imports of products for dogs from China immediately. There seems to be many folks reporting this kind of reaction about this product. Expiry date on the product is October 2016. The serial numbers on the pack: 5184T031 0201WA7, 4549276384 201507.

At 2 weeks old, my cat, now 6, was found abandoned and given to me, a volunteer animal foster, to be her surrogate mother. Needless to say, we bonded, and I chose to adopt her. I try to give her the best that I can, and Purina was the brand of choice for the organization that I adopted her from, so that is what I fed her. She had some problems with vomiting, however, so I switched her to the new Gentle Formula. At first she seemed better, but then she began vomiting immediately after eating. After this happened a few times, she began turning down food, even treats, so I knew that it was time to take her to the vet. It was discovered that she was so constipated that she had a blockage in her intestines, and the muscles in the intestinal walls were not functioning properly. After some fluids and medication, she got better, and I didn't change her food.

I am having multiple cats that are getting sick. We have over 20 cats. Most stay inside our home, some at totally outside cats. Our inside cats are suddenly getting sick. Vomiting and diarrhea. I am trying to figure this out and fast. Within the last week, I am seeing at least 10 of these cats getting sick. We have only ever had one of our females (orange tabby) to ever throw up. Occasionally there has been a few that might would throw up a hair ball. This is horrible. Very forceful vomiting & the diarrhea is very watery. The vomit is thin and brown. It almost looks like the diarrhea. After about 5 more have started this, I know this is very serious.

Purchased bag of Beyond Cat Food. My cat started vomiting after first feeding. Was positive that was cause until second feeding when it happened again. She is two years old and has never vomited before. She is an indoor cat. I would strongly recommend choosing another brand. I know I will never use their products again.

Bought a bag of Purina Beyond white meat chicken and barley recipe about 2 weeks ago from Petsmart. I first opened the bag today, 12/20 and found maggots and what appears to be cobwebs?! Possibly mold?

I have seven cats and had been buying this product from Kroger in Highland Village for many months. I buy five cases each time. This purchase of four cases was completely different in appearance and smell. My cat had severe diarrhea and vomiting that started two days later. I called Purina, got a Case No. for my complaint; they took numbers from the cans as I talked, promised to send instructions to send a can to them. This never happened. My cat is still on meds; I spent $98, quit the food for all when they started vomiting. This food is canned in Thailand.

We bought a bag of Friskies Grillers from a Kroger in NC. One of our 2 cats immediately threw it up and the other has become very ill. He was a young healthy cat, now he can barely move, throwing up bile, and has not eaten in 2 days. We don't think he is going to make it. Trying this food was the only thing that changed, 2 cats had an immediate reaction to this food, nothing else has changed in their environment. They have eaten it before with no problems, there is a bad batch on the store shelves now. Please avoid, it may poison your cat!!!

I have a 11 year old dog that never had stomach or skin problems till consuming the Purina Beniful dog food. We have took him to the vet and spent money on his health problems only to no avail.

Not happy with this product and will never purchase it again. Upon opening it the perfume was so strong that I could actually taste it as the smell was everywhere. Biggest complaint is this stuff is so fine it sticks to my cat's back end and bottom of her feet which is upsetting to her and it is then tracked all over the place. She is constantly washing it off and this cannot be healthy to ingest.

My 2 cats suffered severely from eating Purina's Friskies Dry Food "Indoor Sensations". They are big dry food eaters. They ate a newly opened bag and became violently ill including vomiting blood, being in pain and becoming "lifeless". Unfortunately this is not the first time this has happened to them after eating Friskies dry food but it was the WORST episode and I was able to pinpoint the cause this time. Whatever was in the Friskies was very poisonous. Luckily they are both part Maine Coon cats and are very large and healthy... I think that is what saved them from death. I will NEVER buy a Purina product again and recommend anyone to stay away from Purina pet foods. Even though my cats suffered 10-15 hours of agony, they were fortunate to pull through... Unlike many of the stories about deaths of pets that have ingested Purina products on the internet.

I had fed my dogs Purina dog food since I was a kid, I am 46 now. So for four decades my family and I spent our hard earned money on Purina products. I had a dog who started having seizures and quickly lost him. Not a month later another one of my dogs started having seizures, I started looking for causes then a third best friend started seizing. I did nothing more than change dog food and this dog recovered and lived two years more to the age of seventeen, having done nothing but change food. I contacted Purina and was hung up on, rudely talked to and treated badly in general. I no longer will feed Purina products to my dogs, and Nestle owns them now so I wonder what they are feeding humans. Avoid this foul company.

It is very confusing on what to buy. What is healthy? Good for the price? I read as much as possible on nutritional, healthy food. I have gone to independently owned pet stores and asked question. I look for samples to see if it's something my dog would like. I found there is no regulations on dog food. The advice is follow your instinct, as long as dog is healthy, go with what you can afford. Do not buy into the gluten free, natural, high price dog food.

Purina puts a lot of color dyes and other nasty chemicals in most of their food. These are very harmful to your pets. And Beneful causes a lot of dogs to have diarrhea due to the color dyes in the product. If you have to buy Purina, buy their One or Pro Plan products which are better than their other products because they don't contain as many harmful chemicals.

Purina Pure Instinct turkey/venison is 1 food that my dog finally likes. She was picky with other foods she was given. There are also other varieties available.

Was on there just right by Purina fb page. I was posting how one of their foods made my dog ill and was arguing about the items they put in their food, they proceeded to block me from writing any more post and deleted all my comments. The corn isn't digestible or very nutritional which is why more reputable companies put in peas or spinach or other vegetable that have more than double the amount of protein and fiber.

Got a bag of Purina One SmartBlend weight management. My dog threw up after eating it all over my bedding and living room. I have a German Shepherd. I inspected food. Found mold on the food. I immediately threw it all out. Got a different brand Purina dog chow complete and she hasn't threw up anymore. I think the Purina SmartBlend dog foods should be inspected to keep this from happening to other people's pet. That's 20 some dollars down the drain for me and I'm on a fixed income and disabled.

I believe our dog died at age 11 from eating Benefuls playful life. This was the only food she ate and she died before three different vets could determine what was making her lose weight, vomit, fill with fluid. It wasn't Cancer as they had expected, she died before they could do further testing.

I have bought two bags of Purina One Smart Blend large breed puppy formula that both had bugs, worms, and moths in them. Both were the chicken kind. The first bag was 31.1 pounds and second was the smaller 16-pound bag. First bag bought at Petco and second at PetSmart. I took the second bag back because I had saved my receipt this time and the store had no problem exchanging it for another bag. One of my pups got sick last week and now I wonder if I didn't catch the replacement bag and it too had bugs and got her sick. I have 4 dogs so I go through a lot of food. Purina rep on the phone gave me attitude because I didn't call them first before going to the store and blamed it on the store warehouse. I bought the bags at different stores and both had bugs. I am switching back to Blue Buffalo. I love my pups too much to take any more chances.

I bought the Purina food from a feed lot store which offered the best pricing. Sometime I would go and they were out, showing that it was a very popular brand the people liked for the dogs.

I use Purina One Smartblend healthy weight. Both of my dogs were overweight so I tried this. They lost weight and love the taste. I was using Blue Buffalo and they tired of the taste. I've been using Purina for four years and they still get excited at mealtimes. I also like that it's more than half the price of BB. I'm pleased with this brand.

I shop at BJ's Wholesale Club and they had a coupon for Purina One Beyond dog food. Coupled that with a manufacturers coupon and I got a great deal. Best of all, my Siberian Husky loved it and it's all I buy for her now.

Waggin Train chicken jerky - Our husky became very ill after eating these treats daily for a few weeks. The vet bill was close to a thousand dollars. We're still waiting to see if she will make a full recovery. I would advise everyone to boycott the Nestle Company completely. All their products may not be potentially deadly like this one but their business practices have been far less than above board for decades.

I adopted my toy poodles when they were 9 and their previous owner/breeder used Purina One Small Bites and recommended that. After I had them neutered they gained a little weight and I started looking at "mature" or "healthy weight" brands and found that in reality the calorie content in those is about the same and it looked like it was all about portion control anyway. So I went back to what they knew and liked and just give them less now and add pumpkin and string beans to make up the difference.

My dogs are picky eaters. I finally found dog food they enjoy, Purina One. They love the real chicken bits.

I have used 9Lives, but my 4 cats prefer Friskies Pate. Two of the cats do not like "Bits' or "Shreds" or anything else with a gravy over some almost-meat product. When you buy this stuff, you are giving your cat more water and less meat. They also eat Meow Mix dry cat food. They like the food and I appreciate the recent change from the paper bag that was difficult to open, to the plastic bag that was easy to open.

I've given several of my dogs Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach dog food. It has no corn as an ingredient. Some terriers are sensitive to corn and my vet recommended this food. My dogs have thrived eating this food.

During a recent trip to PetSmart, I was not able to find our regular brand of cat food and even though we didn’t need cat food I have one cat that eats only dry and we started to run low. She normally has hairballs AND is indoors. When shopping around for other items I stumbled into an area where a few bags of our regular brand was being (away from the aisle of cat food) and bunch of Purina Cat Chow bags. When asking the store employee if the bag of Purina would be better or the kind we usually used, he suggested the Cat Chow. We opened it and stored it in an airtight container, mixed it into their other cat food to change it slowly. My other cat that has digestive sensitivity, usually eats only wet food, attempted to eat the dry food two days ago.

For about the past month, my cats have been throwing up the Friskies brand cat food in a can. I continue to purchase at least 32 cans per week because I am feeding 5+ cats total. Now, they totally refuse to eat it and it lays around till I throw it away. This is getting expensive and I am considering the 9 lives brand. I have written the Purina company about this and all I got was a letter about sending in control numbers stamped on the can and which I did, but haven't heard from them since!

I'm currently using Purina One SmartBlend Healthy Weight. The food I used before was Blue Buffalo. My dogs were tiring of it and weren't excited about eating. So I made a change (about 3 or 4 years ago) to the Purina. My dogs absolutely love this food. They can hardly contain themselves when it's time to eat. There is never a crumb left in the bowl. One dog is fussy; the other is not. The biggest benefit has been the weight loss. I took away dog treats except one natural cookie. The treats the rest of day is baby carrots. But my dogs are at their ideal weight now and maintain. They get so excited when I buy a new bag. They stand next to me wagging their tails while I pour it into the bin. So, great food.

Not sure yet if it's Purina canned food affecting my dog but after reading these horrendous stories, I'm going first thing in the morning and buying different foods. My dog has been having terrible anal gland issues, gas, stomach noises and tonight after eating, a rash on his lip and acting a little strange. Oh, and he HAS been drinking lots of water. I'm hoping having him on this a month hasn't damaged him. I will let you know how it goes. And I know I shouldn't drastically change his food but I don't dare give him 1 more morsel of Purina. At least until I know!

I was feeding my coondog dog chow when she got sick. She was coughing and vomiting for a couple of days then she died on her box. This dog was worth 30,000 dollars. She was only 4 years old and in great shape. She passed away October 20, 2015.

I feed my dog Purina One or Purina SmartBlend and add lean chicken breast to it for added flavor and protein. My dog won't eat it otherwise. She is very healthy and active, so she burns off the extra protein easily. She seems to prefer the Smart Blend over Purina One dry dog food.

My dogs have always liked this brand. Since there are different flavors she doesn't get tired of eating the same brand. Every so often we switch flavors so she doesn't get tired of the same flavor. Tried other brands but after a couple weeks of eating I was throwing more away than she was eating.

My springer spaniel is almost 7, so I decided to change her food and bought Pro Plan Vitality for dogs over 7. She ate one serving about 11 am and was rushed to the vet at 2:30 pm with hives, swollen face, panting furiously, whimpering, frantic, and with fully dilated and glazed over eyes. She's at the vet overnight and I will know tomorrow if she's ok. Don't risk buying this food for your pets.

Did not cause stomach upset, while more expensive brands (including Blue Buffalo) caused gastric distress that included excessive gas, bloating and diarrhea in an older active dog.

I use Purina Pro. My dog seems to like it, although he picks out the meaty part most of the time. He would go back later and he would eat the rest. He only likes the turkey and chicken. He does not like the lamb.

I was feeding my 14 year old Lab Purina Beneful Healthy Weight after needing to buy a less expensive food due to financial hardship. My dog became very sick after introducing this food to his diet. He had trouble walking, diarrhea & vomiting. I researched the food and found other owners with these experiences. We immediately stopped the food and my dog got better. He can walk again, is no longer vomiting, and no diarrhea.

I had been feeding my pitbull Purina Puppy Chow for the last 7 months and thought I would start weaning him off the puppy chow and start him on an adult dog food. He had been on Purina Dog Chow for about a week and started throwing up one night and as the night went on, it gradually became worse. He started vomiting blood by morning and was not responsive to any touch or commands. I immediately contacted my vet and brought him in to be checked. Every test that they ran came back negative. He stayed at the vet for 2 days on IV and then I was able to bring him home.

My 2 1/2 year old perfectly healthy American Staffordshire Terrier Archer is in a battle for his life after 2 days of eating Purina Alpo Prime Cuts. A very large Vet bill and 3 days later with nothing else to be done!!!! Your company needs to pay for what he's had to endure and suffer through. Vomiting, bloody diarrhea, lethargic, drooling bile, breathing problems and uncontrolled shaking! Everyone that works for that company and knows they're killing innocent beautiful babies should have to suffer the same. Not to mention what his family has had to endure watching him suffer!

I fed my 4 dogs the treats and two hours later they threw up the treats and white foam. After having the treats, they would go lie down and they normally don't do that. They started dry heaving and gagging. A couple days later since their condition did not improve and actually worsened, I called Purina to file a complaint and asked for reimbursement of my expenses due to this product, which includes a vet visit and antibiotics. Their eyes were watery and swollen shut. The vet found that they have a bacterial infection due to the treats.

I have fed 2 dog Purina ONE dog food for a number of years. Luckily they were on Kirkland high fiber during the recall of Beneful last year so we missed that. However we tried a bag of Purina pure blends natural instinct and are in the midst of horrific consequences from that choice. It started with spot on symptoms of acid reflux in my littler of the 2 dogs. This lasted about 12 hours and he now seem to be fine as frog's hair. My other dog had no issues until this morning. While out she had explosive voids out of both of her ends. While cleaning that up she had bloody diarrhea and has had to pass that about once an hour for the last couple hours. The food has been the only change in her activities and diet. I feel so bad, because she is hurting right now. My wife and I try our best to give both of our dogs a good life. We put them on the Purina One blends thinking this was a good product for them.

We have a 7 yr old Chiweenie who we've fed Purina One for as long as I can remember. 2 weeks ago she started getting ill, loose stool lethargic, won't eat/drink some days or will drink a lot, flinches when we'd touch her belly, very loud gurgling noises from her belly and terrible gas. 2 weeks ago we also bought a new bag of Purina One 3 in 1 SmartBlend Healthy Weight Formula. Today I took her to the vet because she wasn't getting better. Vet did a blood panel and fecal test. Blood panel showed she was a bit dehydrated and then her fecal matter was black and tarry. She's now on antibiotics, probiotics, prescription dog food and one other medicine.

I have a 6 year old adopted black lab. After eating Purina for 6 months he began throwing up. Just random events but always after eating. I changed everything and thought he had gotten into something but it was only after eating a bag that had been purchased in July 2015. He had also began to drink endlessly as well as scratch a ton!

I have 2 cats who I've feed Purina for over a year now. I was feeding them the indoor complete but, last time I went to PetSmart they didn't have it so I ended up with the naturals kind with added nutrition and minerals. I actually didn't even consider the food as being a culprit until approximately 2 days ago when my 2 year old cat started throwing up. I was actually talking to a friend who was telling me about her dog having really bad poisoning from her food and how she had to nurse her back to health forcing water down and feeding her by hand piece by piece, but she said that it was all from the dog food a Purina brand - that's actually one of the first time questions she asked me is what kind of food I was feeding them while continuing to tell me how bad Purina was as I told her it was also Purina. She advised me to take the food away.

About six weeks ago we switch to Beyond dog food. At first our male dog seemed to get lethargic, quit eating, just acting weird. Then our female dog started acting up. Then about a week ago, they both quit eating completely. They both were good eaters. We have $$$ invested right now into the vet because we are trying to figure this out. They are both lying in my kitchen dying. I know it was from eating this food.

I have a 9-month-old puppy. The breeder we got her from recommended Purina Pro Plan. Several months ago I noticed there were moths in the food. I returned it to the store and got a new bag. Last week I bought a new bag of Purina Pro Plan large breed food and again I have moths. No more Purina for us.

I have always purchased Purina dry dog food. Recently my husband got the lamb and rice formula. I now have 3 very ill dogs. My puppy started with explosive diarrhea. We are on day 4. I stopped this food 2 days ago, she is on the mend. My older dog is having diarrhea and is too weak to stand. My middle dog is having bloody stools and vomiting. I cannot believe this company knows what is going on and will not do anything to fix the product. I will never buy a Purina product again.

Eleven cats is a large number, not one will eat one bite of this good even with extreme hunger. (Ferals out in the word depending on humans for food). Question why this product if "so good" for cats urine production will not be consumed in extreme hunger situations. Can grasp spoiled inside cats dependent on proving to us what they want but I know of not one person that successfully feeds their cats this product. It is time for Purina with high charges for costs… wow… to revamp and consider this product and why it cannot be tolerated by hungry cats. Something is very wrong. I work with large groups that support TNR and return of cats, they will not eat this product. Wake up Purina. Think many others experience same. Even if you MIX into their favorite dry they will eat around this product and leave in dish.

I have been feeding my animals Purina for years but recently my corgi has been throwing up several times during the night leaving a nightmare orange color spot everywhere he's puked! My carpet throughout the house is light beige and every room has three or more spots. Besides that he has had bloody stools which I have taken to vet to make sure he was alright. Also the vet commented that he was shedding terribly, which he still is. I have decided to give your company the benefit of doubt and try changing my dog to the lamb and rice dry food and after a month trial I will complain again if my dog keeps getting sick. I'm wondering if your company has made any changes to the ingredients of your product because I've heard that some of the ingredients are coming from another country, is that true?

Last Friday I bought a bag on Purina Gentle Cat food. Within a few hours of feeding, all of my cats began vomiting (I have 15 rescues at the moment), and within a few hours after that, many had watery diarrhea, too. I was at work, and didn't notice until a full day later, though my mother told me when I got home that "all I have done all day is clean up throw up and poop!"

I buy Purina One Small Bites for my dogs and have been for several years. I have noticed small moths in my house lately and the other week noticed several moths in the container that I store my dog food in. I then realized that there were moth cocoons in the lid of the container. I happen to be talking to my neighbor today and she mentioned little moths in the last week in the house and some flew out of her cat food container. She noticed the webs/cocoons too. We both buy Purina but bought at different stores. She has a cat and I have dogs. The common denominator is Purina. I will never buy Purina again, especially after reading the complaints on here... This isn't just coincidental... Appears there is a problem at Purina.

Puppy Kept throwing up after eating. Our adult dog always ate this with no issues. Switched both to Smart Balance food and no issues since.

I fed my little guy Scooter Purina beyond dry dog food for about a years. As the time went by I notice his skin was turning black on his tummy. After a summer trim I could see his back was also turning black, his skin has always been pinkish grey in color. Then his coat didn't come back as usual and he was looking remaining coat. I took him to the vet to find out his kidneys were not functioning properly. They wanted to do more tests. At that same time I needed to buy a new bag of food and felt the need to change brands. I know, I know, don't change food like that, but think I may have saved his life. The spots are nearly gone and his coat has come in beautifully. He is my happy, healthy boy again. I am not a veterinarian but I'm sure that the food was killing my dog.

I purchased a bag of Friskies Seven made by Purina from Wal-Mart on 8/7/15. My 19 year old Indoor cat Feisha started having several different issues, such as vomiting, loss of appetite, excessive thirst, weakening in her hind legs, lethargic and seizures. She became so bad I had taken her to the Vet on August 27th 2015 and they had done blood work. Her kidney values were high and the blood work showed other issues. They kept her for two nights to get her kidney values back to normal. She came home on August 29th 2015. The Vet sent home some samples of K/D cat food. She was doing fine and acting happy again. I had ran out of the sample food over the weekend and the Vet's office was closed so I had given her some of the Purina Food I still had on hand. That was on Sept 5th 2015.

Like the others here, I too bought Purina (ProPlan for large breed dogs). We put the food immediately into a container and throw the bag out, so I can't verify any of that information. I did notice, when I bought it, that there was a cobweb on the outside. I figured it'd been sitting on the shelf a long time and even when I saw a cobweb IN the bag, after we dumped it into the container, thought little of it. We noticed a few days later, lots more flies in the house, but chalked it up to a crappy apartment. Meanwhile, our dog had been having issues with loose stool- everything else had been fine, still had appetite and wasn't vomiting. We took him to the vet, and with probiotics and other meds, his stool gradually improved (so I question if the food had an impact at all on his health).

Infested bag of Puppy Chow. Called Purina direct, they were quite bias about it. Stated it was a grain based product and subject to infestations at many points, including shipping. Information sounded scripted and like it had been repeated a many many times before. Did offer refund, I returned it to a major pet store. The manager stated that this was all too common product with Purina foods. They had sent numerous emails regarding this issue - nothing changes. This is a low quality product. Conclusion: I would never risk my dog's health to this product!

I just found an animal tooth in my bag of Purina Dry Cat Food! How gross & disgusting! Before I found it my cats would not eat the food (and they love dry cat food). Finally they took a couple nibbles and then shortly after they became very sleepy, couldn't even walk, almost as if they were drugged! When is this company going to be stopped and shut down! I have read nothing but bad reviews of their cat and dog food, they are making animals sick & even killing them. How are they getting away with this?

Purina Friskies dry/wet cat food made my cat sick and he died. Plus the Purina snacks I give to him. I have been using Purina wet and dry food for years on all my cats over the years. My cat, George, suddenly began vomiting on 4/22/2015 and showing signs of intense stomach pain. He would cry all the time for about 3 days before he died. After continued symptoms of abdominal pain, lethargy and loss of appetite, the vet suspected an intestinal blockage. I found him balled up looking like he was sleeping but when I went to him, he was dead!!!

I purchase this product. Gave it to my cat. First I notice my cat stool was watery. The diarrhea got so bad she would not eat and was throwing up till I took her to the vet. He gave me med for her. She was getting better until I gave her some more Purina Whisker Lickin's tuna flavor and she got all sick again. That's when I took notice it was this food that is killing her. Now she will not eat again, but this product is the cause. Be careful with this product.

After a half-bag of Beneful incredible bites for small dogs, my two year old dachshund is throwing up every day. She has had three bloody, loose stool accidents in the house. She has been scratching like crazy but does not have fleas. We thought she ate something bad in the yard and may have picked up an allergy but after reading all these reviews about Beneful incredible bites for small dogs, I believe strongly it is the food. She has not had an appetite and left food in her bowl, which is very unusual. She usually wants to go for a walk twice per day, but has been very lethargic and has had no interest in her walks.

Bought Purina One 20 pound bag for my dog at Walmart in Farmington, Arkansas. Few days later notice she started drinking more water, eating less, acting tired and like she didn't have any energy. Took her to the vet and they did blood work and liver levels and kidney levels were elevated. Our vet said her toxins levels were high. My prissy was my world. Rip my sweet baby girl. Momma loves and misses you every minute of every day.

I fed my dog - a young 10-month-old, Frisky's canned dog food - might dog. He fell sick almost immediately - lethargy and real sick. Second time, when I tried it with my other dog, he too fell sick. I also found some black substances inside the can. Not sure what it was. Beware.

My beautiful 11 year old kitty has been fed Friskies Seafood Sensations Dry food along with Fancy feast canned food and loved it. She's always been very healthy and gets regular checkups at the vet. In the last few days, she has been vomiting up undigested dry food and also foamy white stuff all over the house. I at first thought she was sick but it seemed that every time she'd have some dry food, shortly after I'd find puke in several places in the house. She still craves the stuff, but I am going to buy her some new better quality food instead and she if these episodes stop (after reading so many horrible stories about other animals made ill).

I recently bought Purina for my 8 month old puppy. Since, I noticed he has been eating less and slower than usual (I thought this was because he needed less) and he vomited twice this week. He's also been sleeping a lot and is less active. This is my first dog and he was a stray who is very shy, so I didn't know what to make of his behavior. When I went to get his food just now I saw moths in the area, then one flew out of his food bin at me. More moths appeared whenever I shook the bin. A quick Google search led me here, and after reading I checked for and found worms and webs in the food. In the area where I keep my puppy's food there were moths and webs with their young inside of them!

I've made a report on bag of food that I had bought two weeks ago. It was a 20 lb. bag and they had already ate the other bag. This is/was the only brand they would eat...it was a 2-bag special at Target in Conway, AR. Our dogs are healthy today but were not eating as usual and they are no longer eating any store-bought food. We make our own dog food and freeze ahead of time...making a 2-cup serving of grains, rice, fish (meat), veggies, etc. in order to keep them healthy.

I was feeding my 13 month old Pug Friskies Mini Menu. She was very thin and didn't eat much of her dry food. I left down a bowl and she often didn't touch it all day, which I've recently heard is quite strange for a Pug as they are known to eat excessively if they can. I did think it was the weather as it's very hot here and I know dogs can eat up to 20% less during summer. This might have been a contributing factor but I have recently done some research and was shocked to find so many bad reviews. I've learned about fillers, artificial flavors and other ingredients that a dog should simply not be getting in their diet.

I bought a new bag for SmartBlend for our healthy 10 year old Bluetick Coonhound last week. Within 8 hours of her first meal she had diarrhea. Fed her 1 more meal from the bag and then stopped using it. She's listless with continuing diarrhea on day 3 and vomited this morning. We have fed her this product many times before without a problem and this is a dog with an iron stomach, not generally prone to food sensitivity or stomach upset. I'm returning the bag to the grocer and thought I should comment here because I noticed a lot of people posting similar problems recently.

I have been feeding my 7 year old chihuahua Purina little bites for years, now I just opened a new bag on Saturday 8/8/2015 and by Tuesday 8/11/2015 he has been sick. He has been lethargic, down and has had a total of 4 seizures that we know of since Friday 8/14/2015. He has never been sick and has never had seizures. I took him to the vet on Saturday 8/15/2015 and he took some blood and we are waiting on the results. I just would like some answers, why all of a sudden this - my little dog getting sick after feeding him this product. He is like one of our kids. We need answers!!!

I like many pet owners want our pets to be happy and healthy. Just this week my dear friend lost her cat. He got sick over past month lost a lot of weight. He finally was not able to eat or drink. We took him to the vet as he was slipping away. The night before he was moving slow but still seemed to be doing okay. By the morning he just had nothing left. He could not eat or drink and had been vomiting. Keep in mind this was a older cat maybe 12 years old. The vet had options but none that would make him better as some organs had shut down.

I have fed my Rott Purina One Lamb Rice dog food for 9 years. Recently the formerly high-quality food has contained lightweight filler chunks, which appear to just give volume to the bag. I have bought my last Purina product. DISAPPOINTED!

Today as I was feeding my male 1 year old great dane Purina Pro plan. I left, but came back as I saw something black. It moved. I dumped the food out back and rinsed his bowl. I then put another scoop of food in his bowl. This time, I examined it. I was disgusted as I saw little black bugs. I went on here to see many reviews on this; so I did what everyone else did: I got a Ziploc bag and put like two scoops of the purina in it. I studied it and not only saw bugs, but little worms too. I'm disgusted. He's been sick for the past couple days, and I suspect this is why. I called purina and all they said was they'd give me a free bag. I'm not getting another bag of that so no need for free bags pro plan! I never want this to happen to any animal out there, so I'm not buying purina pro plan dry dog food again!

We have two dogs. A Golden and a Morky that have been on Purina Exclusive dog food for years. The Morky has been listless and went to the bathroom on the carpet overnight two nights in a row, which never happens. We just noticed a large hot spot on the Golden's paw last night. It came on quickly and the size of a fifty cent piece. We started a new bag of food, same formula... I thought a week before we noticed all the symptoms. I called our dog food feed store and they informed me that Purina had moved their facility and changed the formula.

I had a Pit Bull Terrier (my families best friend) who lived to be 8 months old. I started feeding him Purina Pro Plan dog food chicken and rice formula about 4,1/2 months ago, and I thought I made a good switch. He liked the food and it seemed to be a good fit for him. I decided to switch his flavor up a little bit and went ahead and brought a 35 lb. bag of the beef and rice formula this time about 2 weeks ago. I had been noticing that he had been a little more hesitant to eating ALL of his food lately as he usually does, but I was guessing it was the flavor switch. All of a sudden he got really ill, stopped eating and started vomiting with diarrhea and died. He was a PERFECTLY HEALTHY puppy...

My babies been setting this for a 2years now. My cats all having issue skin very much and urinary tract infections. Vet said could be food. I believe that is to be true. Omg my poor babies. All 5 I buy bags at a time. What to what I need to do? Got from PetSmart and Wal-Mart wherever it's on sale. And one time it was molded inside bag. Took back to PetSmart.

I am the owner of two older cats (about 13 years) that have generally been quite healthy - but lately & quite suddenly, they have exhibited unusually frequent vomiting and one had developed a urinary problem that corresponds to the symptoms of FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis). They are usually fed a combination of canned cat food (evening) and dry cat food (morning). The dry food that we were using is Purina Friskies 'Senior Splendour'. Having become quite alarmed about the sudden urinary problem, I stopped putting out the dry food as all the relevant advice on FIC suggests that dry food (generally) can be a contributing cause of that problem.

I just bought a bag of Purina Beyond dog food on Monday. We were going out of town and needed to get a quick good dog food to take with us to feed our dogs. We fed our dogs Tues. evening. Sam our dachshund, Bella our minpin and Chailatte our Lab service dog gobbled it down. Wednesday, Sam refused to eat, Bella ate a little, Chailatte ate very little. All the dogs were drinking an unusual amount of water. Thursday AM fed the dogs. Sam ate a little bit as did Bella.

We have used pro plan for years. We bought a bag in March and our dogs got sick. Now both dogs are dead. Totally unacceptable. Very healthy dogs, no issues until that bag.

I just recently opened a large bag of Purina Dog Chow and was feeding it to my Yorkies. On July 25th approximately 930 my husband called me crying saying something was wrong with my baby girl. He said she was whimpering and then gasping for air. She eventually died in his arms while he was trying to do CPR on her. My baby girl was only 6, healthy as a whistle, no heart worms - nothing was wrong, NOTHING.

I have tried to write reviews on Purina One on other sites and they would not publish because the truth is not what Purina wants you to hear. I lost TWO of my dogs who were on Purina One canned and dry. Lamb and rice. I won't go into the whole story but I have to share how ill they became. At first I thought it was a cold or allergy. They both were sluggish. Sneezing and a nasal discharge. More bowel movements than usual. After many, many visits to our vet we were puzzled. They became worse. My chihuahua and Rotty had fluid in their lungs. My chihuahua had fluid around his heart also. They were on this poison food for almost 4 months. They DIED within 4 days of each other. I can't tell you the pain this brought my family. My vet and his team were and still are puzzled. I have been using this vet for 31 years.
