    PetSmart appears to have no concern when it comes to complaints submitted to them, even when those complaints are officially processed by their own Customer Service team. After weeks of trying, and three different request numbers assigned, still not a single response from their management team regarding an incident at a Phoenix-area store. Given the company's top-to-bottom lack of professionalism and disrespect for longtime customers/volunteers, and their apparent disregard for concerns about adoption center animals, I have concluded that they are not worthy of my business. I also recommend that others find a different pet store in which to spend their money; preferably one that treats people and animals with decency.

    I have a 4 yr old American Eskimo mix dog. She is hyper and excitable. She has only been to a groomer once. She was an independent groomer and was scared of the dog since she gets upset. I have not tried another groomer until now. I chose Petsmart because it is a big name chain that should employ competent people you trust. I made the appointment online and received a confirmation text to remind me.

    I gave her a Benadryl prior to appt hoping she would calm down. When I arrived there at my appointed time I was advised that the manager of the salon would be grooming her but she had just left for lunch. I did not say anything but, "Excuse me, I had an appointment! What if I showed up late because I had to eat first?" I also explained she was excitable and offered them a muzzle.

    At any rate, I left her there. Within 15 minutes of leaving I received a call stating she could not do it, the dog was thrashing around and she would not let them dry her or groom her. I thought these folks were professionals! When I went to get her, LYNETTE said, she will have to get her from the kennel herself. The employees all stopped and watched me as I walked through. It was so loud back there, the girl drying dogs even wore ear covers. Really, what do they expect? My dog's eyes were bloodshot from barking and trying to get away. I would have too, MANAGER LYNETTE WAS A HAG!! NEVER EVER WILL I EVEN GO IN THAT STORE! Too many groomed at the same time and all of them were thuggish looking. I'd be afraid too!

    This is unbelievable, we took our little hamster there because he was getting a bald spot. They said the standard procedure is to give us our money back so they can pay for whatever cost to have him checked by a Veterinarian, otherwise we would have to pay for the medical consultation. We agreed to received the money back on a gift card from PetSmart in order to have him checked by the vet. The next day we called PetSmart and they said they were running a fungus test on him and they said "we have to give him a full treatment and sell it back to us". After 3 days we called them and they just said "we are so sorry we have bad news. We lost your pet". What kind of unprofessional careless animal store is this??

    When we got there my wife was telling to the Manager Joseph "what are we gonna do, what I'm gonna say to my kids??? And he responded "well, we will give you another one and you can always tell them that Bob went on a trip and his cousin came to visit" and it's not the first bad experience with PetSmart. The first one was when we bought our first hamster and he died dehydrated because the water bottle that it came with the cage wasn't working. So, we agreed to replace the first one and get Bob, making sure we have everything perfect so he can stay with us for a really long time...

    Sunday October 10th, around 10:30 am. I was in the grooming salon booking a nail trim for my dog. It was busy, it was loud. And I understand that. In the last grooming station on the right hand side, I witnessed a young groomer with short black hair and glasses. Speak to the animal that she was grooming in loud berating tone. "STOP" "QUIT" "REALLY". The dog was anxious and moving about. I saw her shove the dog twice. I also witnessed her grab the dog and pull his hair out. Her action made the animal yelp. The other groomers all turned and looked and chose to do nothing to help the groomer or the pet. I canceled my appointment, left, reported the situation to the store manager, and also to the Manager of Banfield.

    I will follow this email with a letter to the Better Business Bureau. The women I spoke with at the pet hospital exact words to me were "Oh we know who she is." If that is the case and she has mistreated animals in front of staff or clients in the past, this needs to be addressed. Clearly, I will never shop or have a pet groomed with you ever again. If this woman is comfortable enough to mistreat a pet in front of coworkers and clients. What does she do when people are not looking? I find this behavior completely unacceptable.

    I had my animal micro-chipped at PetsMart last year, a year later I received a flyer from HomeAgain. They screwed up the owner's name, and now they are not getting back with me about fixing the issue. PetsMart won't help; they say it's Banfield Animal Hospital's problem. Banfield Animal Hospital says it's HomeAgain's problem. I'm going to have to sue these A-holes over this... They just don't care about animals, or their owners. My only recourse may be to have the chip surgically removed, and never shop at PetsMart again. If you have had your pet microchipped, you should verify that they didn't screw it up, or you may never see your pet again, if your little buddy is lost. Sad PetsMart doesn't care.

    Your store located 5883 Poplar Ave, Memphis, Tn. 38119 was out of a type of cat food. I asked an employee to check to see if he had any in stock. He came back and told me it was not in stock and didn't know when it would be in. There was a bulk package containing the type of cat food I was looking for plus 2 other types, which were in stock on the shelves. I asked if I could open the bulk package and removed all of the cans of the type of cat food I was looking for? He refused saying under no circumstances could he open the bulk package unless I would buy all of the cans contained therein. As there were cans of the additional products on the shelf, I asked why he couldn't open the bulk package, removed all of the cans of the product I wanted and put the remaining cans back in stock?

    He absolutely refused and became very rude. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me he was the manager (I don't think he was as I have dealt with other employees of PETSMART and they were always very polite and accommodating, even letting me open other bulk packages when they were out of a product). I told him that I was a good customer and spent at least a thousand dollars a year buying cat food. I ask him to think about it for a minute. Did he want to lose a good long-time customer over 12 cans of cats food? He was adamant and clearly had an attitude. I left the store without buying anything and will never buy anything again from PETSMART. It could have been dealt with so easily had the employee (**) just extended himself a little, but instead, he wanted to show how much power he had. I don't think this is in accord with PetSmart's customer service policy.

    The store in west KENDALL, Florida, stopped honoring competitor coupons. The floor is always dirty from the day before. There is ground in poop in the sidewalk at the front entrance.

    I took my dog to PetSmart to get a haircut yesterday at 1:30 at 75 Gunns Rd unit 10. When I picked him up his head and tail haven't been cut. I had asked her when I dropped him off that I wanted him cut a quarter inch from head to toe. She even asked me "even his face?" So when I picked him up she said "this would be better for the winter." I told her "this is not what I asked for." She kept saying this would be better. Not happy. When I went to fill out the survey the code to punch in is faded on the receipt, so I couldn't complete it. It's funny that the receipt is all clear except the survey and to get a coupon. Thank you.

    My dog got very sick from a bad batch of Blue Buffalo dog food. There are over a 1000 complaints on the internet. When I approached PetSmart with the complaint and returned the dog food I had previously bought from them I was told that the food would be restocked. I was horrified and asked to speak with a manager. I didn't want any other animals to get sick. The manager told me that unless there was a formal recall of the item they would continue to sell it. Shame on you PetSmart! You claim to care so much about animals and so I am shocked. I will buy my dog food elsewhere, thank you!

    I have been taking my dogs here for several yrs. and I have had a few problems. My first grooming was with the Grooming manager and I had to return to have it redone because the cut was so uneven. Then I found a groomer that I liked so I thought I could deal with them. Today I did a walk in service after looking online to see what I wanted. I went in and they said that they couldn't figure out which service I wanted so I explained in detail what the website showed and that it was $20.

    So I come to pick up my dog and it shows $26 and lucky me, the manager was the one checking me out. She had a major attitude and she argued with me saying they should have charged me more than they did. They do not have any listings in the place showing what is available. She said that what I was explaining didn't exist. I asked her to pull up their website, which she refused so I pulled it up on my phone and showed it to her. She still argued with me that next time I was going to have to pay full price. I was so mad that I did become out of control and say things that are true but not very nice. The manager left for lunch and few of the other groomers became very mouthy with me too. I just can't believe the lack of professionalism. Do yourself a favor and avoid this BS and find yourself a better grooming option.

    La Jolla San Diego - My dog spent one night and did day camp at this location for $50. When I picked him up there was dog poop on reception area and when my dog came out he really smelled. I just paid &90 to wash my dog at different PetSmart and now within a week my dog is smelling like dirty bathroom. People were all nice and friendly. I think manager should be more astute so that place gets cleaned up.

    I made an appointment for my Boston Terrier to get the "top dog plus" grooming on Saturday September 19. I dropped her off @ 11:30 and was told it would take about two hours and they would call me when she was ready. After four hours, I went into the grooming salon and asked about her. At first they couldn't find her in the "system" - grooming salon manager went into the back and said they were finishing up with her. I paid the $47.00 and took her home. Took her to the house and then went and ran some errands. That evening I noticed her nails hadn't been done nor had she been bathed.

    I called PetSmart and was told to come back Sunday and speak with the grooming salon manager. He offered a "comped" grooming since nothing had been done for her on Saturday. She sat in the kennel for four hours, sounds like they "forgot" her. They did credit my credit card the $47.00 but wanted to share how "haphazard" they are running the grooming salon.

    I purchased 4 fish guppies. Within 2 days all my other fish started dying. I contacted the store. They offered new fish. I asked what the fish had so I could treat the rest of the surviving fish. They said they had no knowledge of any problems with the fish. I went back today to get antibiotics and they told me not to waste my money. I am super upset watching all my fish die.

    Been taking my 4 yr old Yorkie since a puppy to get groomed at PetSmart. I've been mostly happy with their service until now. The new groomer did a really bad job - very uneven haircut. I'm so upset. $52 not worth it! Didn't notice until I got home!

    Horrible treatment to the dogs! We took our poodle to be groomed to be shaved and he returned with 3 cuts that are now cutting him! When we called to see what we could do about it they said they weren't responsible even though it is obvious that the cuts were done when grooming. We were specific about what we wanted and they did the opposite. When they gave us our dog he was shaved to the skin. THEY SHOULD BE MORE CAREFUL with the dogs because that's their job!

    I took my pomeranian to PetSmart in Terre Haute IN to get groomed several times. Every single time I have to explain to them that her previous owners neglected her, leaving her back legs underdeveloped. So she can't stand for long. They always say they will add it to her notes. Never gets done. They usually do ok with her regardless. However, this past time, I explained this AGAIN. I returned to pick her up. The groomer said "I couldn't groom her back legs. I don't know what's wrong with her but she doesn't want to stand up." So yet again, I told her about my dogs problems. She said "well we aren't even supposed to groom dogs who can't stand up anyway." Okay fine but everyone else is always able to groom her and hasn't mentioned that. But they don't have to worry, that was the last time I'll be taking her there. I'm not going to pay full price for my dog to be halfway groomed by a girl with a crappy attitude

    I went to buy 4 dwarf African frogs on Sept 5. The girl that help me was so rough trying to net them. My previous experience has been that they are gently caught by hand but she used the net to trap them and I'm sure in doing so injured the frogs. Once she put them in the bag it started to leak so she transferred them to another bag by dumping them all at once and they both hit the counter and each other. I said watch out and the other girl watching her told me she's new here. Well what I ended up bringing home is 2 dead frogs and one that has a limb injury.

    I called and talk to the girl (Christina) that watched the new trainee damage these frogs and she admitted it was wrong but the girl was nervous and has to learn. She had no concern about the rough treatment of the frogs and the death or injury but said "bring them in for a refund." I asked her why she didn't talk to me or check the frogs for injury after and she said she was busy and there were too many customers to look after. I have to sign a record and customer release form to buy these animals and I'm disgusted on how they were treated and the customer service I received at the time of purchase and when I called the next day.

    I dropped my 5 pound Maltipoo off for grooming. They told me she would be ready in 2 hours. Get a phone call 3 hours later and they tell me she is next door at the vet and needs one stitch. They needed my approval. Needless to say I was furious. The vet on call happened to be her vet. She had to be put under anesthesia and got three stitches, not one. I felt the person who called from the salon was unfeeling, very unfeeling, like it was nothing. So now I have a dog with three stitches in her leg and is half-groomed. Also have to be inconvenienced to go back to have stitches removed.

    Took my poor lil dog for a nail trim at this place and I regret every minute of it. I dropped off the dog for literally 5 minutes. I left her there while I went out to pay. All of the sudden, I heard my dog crying and screaming. When I looked over, I saw the groomer talking to her co-workers. I finished paying and ran back inside to get my dog. On the way to the car, my dog was running and shaking. She just wanted to get out of there. When I placed her on her bed in my car, I saw blood all over it. I was in shock. I went back in, spoke with the manager and she said that the person who took care of my dog had just started.

    I told her that this person definitely needs more training and also that they need to pay close attention who they are hiring. I thought nail trimming would be something quick and easy to do but it turned into a nightmare. They gave me my money back but it does not pay what my dog went through. I will never go back to this store. Shame on them!!!

    We took our dog in to be groomed. We had a 12:45 appointment and wasn't finished until 5:45. They kept stopping to do other dog's nails. They didn't even have an appointment but they did them. My mom said something about it and they said it was store policy that they have to do walk-ins first. We don't think that is a good policy, should be the other way around. They should have more people working if that is their policy. There was only two workers there when we were there.

    My mother and I have been taking our Yorkie to this PetSmart for grooming for about four years now. Normally, Rainbow or Erica takes very great care of my dog. They are sweet and accommodating which is what kept us coming back. But, last Sunday will be the last time PetSmart gets our business by us and our dog. We were about a few minutes late to the appointment, and apologized to the groomers. However, two new girls, Brenda and another lady, begun to scold my mother in front of me like a child. She was very disrespect, got smart and told me that she was not seeing my dog. Her words were, "We've dealt with you before and you and your dog do not belong here!" in front of other customers. My fourteen year old brother videotaped her rant. I told her that we don't have time for this and immediately sought out a higher up.

    We spoke to the manager who apologized profusely and wanted to take my dog to the groom ASAP. I told her I was not comfortable with my dog being the care of two girls who just scolded. The manager begged us to not send out the videotape but we think we will. Our family has been loyal customers to PetSmart but we decided that a mobile groomer will be better for our Yorkie. Heed our warning and stay out of this grooming salon. I have had little troubles with them here and there but this, this incident takes the cake. PetSmart has been in hot water for mistreating dogs and poor customer service.

They took my money from my gift card and tell me to wait 2-3 business day then the money will be refunded... I look now and the item is still available in stock. One star is still too much!!!     Today August 23 my dog got hit by a car But was still alive. It happened right in front of the store. So it was 6:05. Of course I'm screaming and crying. But I went and asked a man who work at PetSmart to help me. He told me "We close at 6. We can no longer help you today." My puppy of 12 weeks was dying. He told me no. I had to sit there and hold my dog while she was gasping for air. The man just kept refusing to help me. Me being only 16 years old and having my dog dying in my arms and this man will not help me is horrible. PetSmart is the worst company ever. I will NEVER shop there again. Just because you closed 5 minutes ago, doesn't mean you can't help.

    Beware of the groomers at the Bell Road Petsmart in Glendale Arizona. I took my mini Aussie to get her groomed and two hours later I returned to find a lame, injured dog. No explanation from groomer Kayie, other than she said my dog was hard to handle and mean. The dog is only barely a year old. Aussies are not known for having a bad temperament. I had to take my dog to an emergency vet center since it was a Sunday and it cost me several hundred dollars to find out the dog had a strained left shoulder. I contacted both the manager of this store and corporate office, and one month later nothing. I plan to never use Petsmart again.

    Horrible customer service. Employees do not care about the pets in their store and do not even try to come to solutions when problems arise. My puppy spent the day at Doggy Day Camp yesterday. We've had good experiences with PetSmart before, even having our puppy stay two days with the hotel a few weeks ago. After his first stay, we heard great things about his stay and we were very happy with his experience there. However, as we went to pick him up last night, we were informed that he was no longer welcome at puppy day camp because he wouldn't go in his kennel.

    First off, we dropped him off here so that he could socialize and play without being locked away alone all day. Had we been aware that they locked the dogs up all day like this, we would have looked elsewhere for these services. Second, we adopted this puppy from the ARL. He was locked in a kennel all day every day until we rescued him, and he was suspected of abuse by his owners before he was given to the shelter. It's understandable he wouldn't want to be locked away again.

    It's unbelievable that since we were told he was such a hassle, that no one bothered to call us concerning his behavior. We would have happily paid extra for him to stay in one of the hotel rooms instead of the kennel until we could come pick him up. It's inexcusable that they should force a dog clearly experiencing stress about being locked in a kennel to do so. We should have been notified so we could create a solution for our stressed pup. I am extremely disappointed in PetSmart's lack of concern for our dog's well-being when we entrusted him to them for the day. We had originally planned to put him in day camp at least once a month to socialize and have fun experiences and we were avid customers of PetSmart before this incident.

    I cannot stress enough how upset this experience made both my dog and myself. There was absolutely no effort made to come to a solution by the employees. Needless to say, if this is the way they choose to treat their customers, they will no longer receive our business, and I will ensure other pet owners are aware of this situation and their complete lack of concern for pets' well-being.

    Had our pomeranian groomed. They did a horrible job. He has scattered bald spots. It's been a month now and the spots they shaved bald are not growing. They did give me my money back but they keep trying to get me to bring him back. They say their staff has extensive training. I don't see how this is possible.

    I went to PetSmart in Holland Sylvania, Ohio to buy a guinea pig in February 2015. When I got him he was very scared and acted as if he has never been around humans. It is now August of 2015 and I try to socialize with him daily but he still acts scared but is getting much better. Guinea pigs absolutely love attention and PetSmart gives them none. I'm very disappointed and will not buy another small animal from them again. As of today my guinea pig love to show off and poses for the camera. He is absolutely terrified of males though and I'm starting to question why.

    I gave my 70 pound german shepherd female Sentry pro yesterday. A couple hours later she was chewing her tail and would not get up and walk. She almost seemed like she was paralyzed now. I put it on her for a preventive. In Michigan we've had fleas and more ticks this year cause of all the rain we've had. Mind you I've been a dog groomer for over 25 years so I'm a little embarrassed that I tried this product. I gave my dog a bath 3 times last night with dawn and gave her Benadryl last night as well. That's when I read all the reviews that other people's dogs had similar or the same side effects as my dog. She slept with me and all night she was very agitated. The only thing that made her feel better was me rubbing her neck. Which is not her normal behavior cause she normally gets hot on the bed and will jump off. Then this morning I had to pick her up off the bed.

    My husband was working outside. I had to get him so he could get her downstairs by then me and my daughter are in tears. We all agreed to take her to the vet. Luckily I found one open being it's Sunday not a emergency vet. The doctor said it was from the Sentry. Gave her a steroid shot and told me to give her three Benadryl pills twice a day. He said because of my fast actions of bathing her with dawn and the Benadryl may of saved her life. Took the Sentry back to PetSmart. Got a full refund. Shame on PetSmart for selling that. I will only get what the vet recommends for now on. And thanks to all the reviews I read last night probably helped save my dog's life. I will not recommend this product to my customers. And yes it is poison!

    I took my cocker spaniel to get groomed today and I was specific about what I wanted. I wanted his long hair trimmed but still look like a cocker with long hair. When I picked him up they SHAVED him to his skin!! He looks awful! We had to buy him a shirt to hide the horrible haircut he received.

    The employees are very stuck up and rude. My boyfriend and I were going to adopt a cat and we had chosen one that sheds a ton. We asked if we could look at one with shorter hair and the employee told us if we had any problems that she isn't comfortable letting us adopt. Isn't comfortable???!!? We hadn't even told her what was wrong yet!!! After that my boyfriend and I talked for a minute and I assume she told the other employees about her "problem with us" because they completely ignored us and basically refused to help us. This was the PetSmart in St. Cloud, MN. We will not be going back to any PetSmarts after this.

    My sister took my sister to PetSmart in Apex to get groomed. The appointment was at 7 so she got there early. When she arrived they said they messed up the schedule. My dog returned with cuts on her ear and chest, and probably other areas I haven't seen. I'm never taking my dog there again and I don't recommend it at all.

    A woman by the name of Amber was extremely rude at the PetSmart located on Reisterstown Road in Baltimore County, Maryland. I would not recommend anyone to go to that location. I had a carton full of food for my dog and put everything back after essentially being insulted by this employer. It was clear this woman did not care about how she treated or spoke to customers. I asked this woman for assistance with a particular dog food and her response was "look it up" and "figure it out." I asked another questions about the food. She said, "I don't know, read it and find out." Both times she was very impertinent and disrespectful.

    LaVista Road, Tucker - Took my 17 month dog to the groomers and now he is acting very strange. On examining him I noticed some redness around his balls as if he was shaved too close.     Both of these PetSmart are not kept clean and the smell inside is awful. The store in Rocky Mount has a smell that makes my stomach hurt. The entire place needs top to bottom cleaning. The store in Virginia, Potomac Yards Alexandria is just as bad. The managers there do not take to complaints well. The manager saw me the other day and had very little to say. Over the years my dog got a terrible case of fleas costing us into the hundreds (cleaning rugs, exterminators, huge vet bills, family flea bits/doctors, medications); we took our dog there for grooming about three months ago and there again fleas. This place needs a complete overhaul. It stinks and is infested with fleas.

    08/09/2015 Took my two small poodles for haircuts. Arrived at my appointment at 8:00 am. I was their first customer and this was my dogs' second time being groomed by what I believed to be professionals. I was told they would call between 3 and 4 hours. I went back to the store at 12:30 they still weren't finished so I watched through the window which they weren't aware of. What I saw was the groomer trying to make my dog stand by pulling on his lower jaw. When that didn't work she took the harness and lifted him higher and still continued to pull on what little hair he had. These dogs are both under 10 lbs. I could see he was shaking. She became frustrated and took him into the back room where I couldn't see at this point so I went into the grooming room. She came out with another dog and preceded to work on him, That's when they noticed I was there to pick them up so another groomer brought them out and something was said.

    I couldn't hear but she proceeded to put my dog back up on the table and started to work on him again. At this point not only was he trembling but I also was very upset. When she brought them to me I just took the leash and stated I won't take my dogs here again. She has ruined their experience with groomers. Also when I was watching from the outside other persons were also witnessing this and stated they would never use their services. I agree. I paid these incompetent persons 109.00$ to traumatize my dogs. These dogs may not be special or mean anything to you people but I love my dogs and I will tell others of my experience. I have spent a lot of money in this store but now I will not use this store or any other PetSmart again. Maybe you should lean towards scheduling these appointments further apart or get more competent handlers.

    I will NEVER shop at PetSmart again!!! You choose employees with anger management issues! I was told by an employee a couple of weeks ago to check the cat litter before purchasing as there has been dirty cat litter from your brand of litter. Today I was told by another never open a bag again! In front of other customers! How humiliating!!!!!!! So, I will spread the word as I am also in sales and make sure they also switch stores!     Look, my dog isn't injured or killed like multiple other people out there dealing with PetSmart, so I should be thankful. But my Yorkshire Terrier was completely shaved! I have been meticulously taking care of his coat for years and it was almost touching the ground. I don't know what part they didn't understand about, "trim him up just like always" but apparently they heard, "Shave all his hair off so I can see his skin." I AM FURIOUS!!! And, to top it off, the groomer had the audacity to say we told her to do it!! Seriously! DON'T USE PETSMART TO HAVE YOUR DOG GROOMED! Unbelievable!!!

    On July 30th, 2015 I took my 4 month old Leonberger puppy for a nail trim at PetSmart Bluffton, SC. I was very specific that he was not easy to clip nails, that he was large but still a puppy and fragile. The groomers assured me he would be properly assisted. I left him there for 10 mins while I did some shopping for other pet needs and I went to pay for the nail clip. When my dog was ready to be picked up I asked how he did. I was told, "He didn't do good. HE WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT TOOK TWO OF US TO HOLD HIM DOWN." I took my dog and left. Walking to the car he was slow and seemed tired and I placed him in the car. When I took him home, he had trouble climbing the stairs and was limping a bit. I thought his paws are just sore from the clipping. He slept for an hour when he woke up his limp was worse.

    I immediately called the PetSmart Groomers and asked what had happened. They stated, "Maybe when he came off the table or because he 'was all over the place' and it took two of us to hold him down." Then quickly changed their tune and said, "He was fine when he left. He just doesn't like his nails clipped." I said I would bring him down to them to see his limp and have Banfield Vets check him out. When I arrived they all denied anything happened and kept saying, "Oh he's just sore, or he just doesn't like his paws touched." The vets were substandard in the care and diagnosis of my dog. No X-rays taken, just had him walk around and said, "We'll give him anti-inflammatories, it's probably just a sore muscle." Final Diagnosis: Sore muscle Right rear leg.

    A Second opinion at a reputable local Vet determined upon taking x-rays and a real examination on him that a left front leg hairline fracture of 5th outer digit was the cause for the limp. That some possible struggle may have taken place for such a fracture to occur. The costs are up to $600 and he must wear a cast for 4 weeks. Needless to say the PetSmart Bluffton, South Carolina district manager will hear from me real soon and so will the Banfield vet hospital administrators and directors. Substandard services and veterinarians is all they are.

    We purchased a leather leash for our new dog from the PetSmart in Clackamas, Oregon in early June of 2015. We ended up using the leather leash very lightly, maybe a dozen times, because we found the retractable leash, also bought from the same store at the same time as the retractable leash, be more convenient. Also, the retractable was better for my wife because our dog, a Pitbull Mix, is very strong and the flexibility in the retractable allows for more give when he suddenly lunged at squirrels and birds. Ironically, the retractable leash we bought broke within the first few weeks, and we were able to return it for store credit towards a bigger sturdier retractable leash.

    We brought the receipt with us when we returned the retractable and the clerk kept it. Soooo... We were out walking the dog one evening, and he lunged at another dog that was fortunately on the other side of a fence. The leather leash snapped in two! I brought it to the same PetSmart store where we originally bought it. They rejected the return because, thanks to them, I didn't have a receipt! They also said they couldn't give me credit because the item had been discontinued and they "didn't have a SKU." In this day and age finding an expired SKU on the computer is a simple task. I'm very disappointed because I think I paid approximately $30 for the leash thinking it was a high end quality product. Guess I was wrong!

    Horrible grooming and customer service. Or rather, no real service at all, and rude grooming manager. Bad living conditions for the animals there, too. Grooming's manager is so rude and she doesn't have any experience about grooming and she just wanted to shave all kinds of dog. My dog is a (shih tzu) and I asked them for good grooming but they told me we can just shave and if you want for brushing you need do yourself. They cut his foot and made him silly dog and she told me, "If you are not satisfy you can go another place!!!" They do not care me at all because they are busy and they do not want take a time. I never come back there.

    I have recently moved to California from Oklahoma, leaving my dog behind with my family until I could come back for her. I was unaware that my family took her to PetSmart for vet assistance, she went in for a procedure that involved using anesthesia, and not only did they give her the anesthesia, they failed to check her with precision, which later on resulted in death. I lost my family dog, my baby of 7 years. Because of the lack of knowing how to properly do their JOB. Of course I feel spiteful and angry, I want justice for my family, my friend, my dog.     We have a ten year old dog and have been taking her for grooming at PetSmart most of her life. We always purchase the Top Dog Package and always were told this included anal gland emptying and tooth brushing. After each visit we were told our dog did well and her teeth looked good. No issues were noted. There have been 3 or 4 groomers we were very pleased with but they each left the company. The last two times we had the same groomer who was recommended by the salon. The first experience was ok.

    The last visit was on a Monday. While picking up my dog I noticed the salon only had one dog on a grooming table but all the other tables were surrounded with piles of pet hair. No groomers were sweeping any of it and when Our dog was brought out the groomer seemed stressed and disengaged. Upon returning to the car I told my husband it was the first time it didn't feel good about the salon. The next day our dog had very loose stool and was rubbing her bottom on the ground. After three more days of this we visited our vet. The vet said the dog's anal glands were overflowing and in addition her teeth were in very poor condition and would need deep cleaning and possible extractions.

    I returned to the salon and asked for them to check grooming records and it showed we had paid for the high end service. The groomers said it was my fault because I didn't specifically tell them to take care of the anal glands. I was confused and said I was told it was included in the price. I also expressed frustration over the positive dental report each time we had our dog groomed. The groomer said dental hygiene wasn't their responsibility. They just do a quick brush. That would be fine if they hadn't always included a positive comment on the report cards we received after each service.

    I asked to talk to the manager and there wasn't one for the salon. I went to the regular store manager who was quite disinterested in my concern. I had paid $75 for services which were partially completed. I let her know I had always been a loyal customer but had lost faith in the store. She offered a discount on the next grooming. I told her I wouldn't be comfortable with the present groomers. She assured me they were good and would have done the groom properly. When asked for the corporate contact info she said she'd get it for me but it was a waste of time because they would just refer the complaint back to her. I will never recommend PetSmart to any pet owner. I have lost faith in the company.

    I took my girls to be groomed on a Friday simply because they needed a weekend appointment. Found out later this was to incur an additional cost. When checking in I was asked for any info. I reminded them, as this was not our first visit, that one of my girls snaps & will try to bite. No comment from Ashley. An hour later I was called again by Ashley, to come pick up my dog they would not groom her. I went to pick up my girls. They had bathed the other one only. I would not make 4 trips to the store so I asked for both since I was called to come. They promptly made out a BILL for weekend rates, bath, anal glands, ear cleaning for $26.99. The only thing they did was a bath!!! Upon calling another store I found this out. There is no price for a bath only. In my opinion good customer service was not practiced by anyone in the grooming salon or store. I was given a hard time by all.

    Let me tell you good customer service here. First when they check in and reminded that a dog that may or may not bite. Tell the customer you cannot guarantee she will be groomed. Second call the customer to pick up animals when the one you are doing is done, Thereby avoiding any unnecessary trips. Third if you have an unhappy customer either adjust bill for ONLY services you have provided, or if you would like to keep this customer coming back and or referring your service squash the bill entirely and apologize for miscommunication. Petsmart #1968 Owensboro KY will never get my business or any positive comments again. As I believed this to be an isolated event limited to this store I called the customer service line 888-839-9638 filed a complaint from the parking lot of the store. This is a week + later and I have not heard from PetSmart. I guess they have an abundance of customers and don't need more. Goodbye PetSmart!!!

    Beware of PetSmart Wilmington NC new center. Dr. dropped my dog off at PetSmart groomers on July 9th 2015. Got a phone call in 20 min that he had a serious injury. No one could explain what had happened how my dog nearly got his leg cut off. On July 13th I received a phone call from the general manager. He explained they had an extremely sharp broken piece in the tub. I asked to see pictures of the broken object. They said I was not allowed to. My baby dog was in so much pain, no exercise for 10 days.

    The associate at the front desk at the Petsmart at Alliance Center Ft Worth was very rude. I went in to get my dog's nails trimmed and the very first thing that came out of her mouth was "Are you the lady that called?" I replied no that I needed to get my dog's nails trimmed. She asked for my phone number then informed me that his records were not current. I responded that I had taken them in several times previously. She then went on to ask me "well did you get them done here?" I stated "no at the vet's office." I then asked "could I just get his nails trimmed?" and she stated NO!

    There also had been an issue in the past when I take my dog in they will ask me if it's Lady who I lost 2 years ago. It is very clear this salon does not have its act together. I will never ever go here again and I will tell all my friends and neighbors not too either!!! PS Always carry your dog's shots records in your purse or you may not be able to get the services you need here in FT Worth, Texas!!!

    I took my 2 dogs to the PetSmart in Northville, MI on Haggerty Rd. I made an appointment a week before. When I got there the place was packed, but they told me I could pick them up around 12:30. I dropped off at 10 am. Two baths and nails is all we needed. When I arrived at 12:30 they said they are not done yet, it would be around 2 pm. I asked them if they have even been worked on yet and they said yes, just baths and they are drying the nails. When I came back at 2 pm they were super stressed, dehydrated and damp. They had sat in a cage all day and just got bathed and barely nails cut right before I got there at 2 pm. Also, no one took them out to go to the bathroom all day. When I called the manager she said she was sorry and wanted to call me back after she talked to the groomers. She NEVER called back!!! Groomers at pet stores are the worst... be warned.

    Recently at a petsmart I observed two really big things that stand out as massive red flags. Number one, they had bearded dragons in a small cage less than 10 gallons big with 6; 4-5 inches long lizard in there and they were all piled in one corner mouths gaping open panting. It was over 100 degrees in there enclosure. I told the employee in the area who said "no I didn't know it was that hot" and then proceeded to do absolutely nothing about it. They also had NO WATER. That insane.

    Second major issue. They had hamsters of various types in those portable plastic critter cages lined up on a rolling cart. I assume this is because they had more to sell than room in their permanent feature cages. But these containers were less than 2 gallons in size. With barely enough room to fit their food, water and the improper type of wheels that were shoved in there. What this tells shoppers is that this kind of small housing is acceptable. It is 100% not acceptable. It's way too restrictive and small. Their cages are consistently too small, wrong temperatures and the wrong types of food/bedding are provided.

    They also label guinea pigs as easy starter pets and they are not as they require supplemental nutrition in the form of vitamin c and tons of fresh fruit and veggies which is not listed on the info cards. That bad marketing. This is in Lawton, Oklahoma for the record.

    We had recently adopted/re-homed a 7 1/2 yr old Cavachon. We were told she had anxiety issues, specifically if she was crated. So when I made the grooming appt. I asked if they could accommodate her being groomed without being confined. They said they would but there would be an additional $11 charge (bringing the total for a bath & groom up to $51). I wasn't especially happy with that but didn't feel like I had a choice to avoid trauma to the dog & a (possibly) annoying situation for the staff (if she barked & carried on). When we returned to pick her up she was tethered off in the corner of the open salon area, sitting out of the way & quietly.

    I asked if that's how she had been the whole time & they said yes, even adding that she had been so good they had "forgotten she was even there!" When I expressed dissatisfaction (in an email to the company & subsequently a return phone call from that salon as a result of the email) I was told it was their policy to make the extra charge because of the "inconvenience." When I asked how a small (24 lb), older, quiet dog tied in the corner was an "inconvenience," they said, "well, we have no way of distinguishing between your dog & a big German Shepherd that we would have to walk around... we have to charge for any dog that requires special attention."

    To top it off, I had explained how I wanted her trimmed to one person & another groomer ended up doing it - much differently! The hair grew back & spending an extra $11 did not change my life but it did make them lose a customer!

    Went to grooming department in the Old Troy Pike store. I was there about 30 minutes to clip my dogs nails which didn't get done. First it was full (5 people grooming pets), I was the only customer in reception waiting to be signed in. They sent for someone, she looked me up and then requested rabies records for both dogs. Told them I have groomed them before in Centerville Store and also they assisted Day Camp at Weedfire, records should be on file. Then 2 other customers came in and since it was a very small waiting area dogs started getting a bit aggravated.

    I stepped out waiting to get checked in, girl named Stephanie said needed another computer to check records because for some reason it was not listed in the one she was using. Check back in still had not looked me up, I waited out again. Finally the 2 people that came after me were taken care of and I checked in again. Girl in the back, I mentioned what was my status, they called her again and when I had seen had been there for 30 min. I told them to forget it and left. I don't know how many times I have to provide shots records just for clipping a dog's nails. I will never go to that store again. Bad experience how situation was handled!!!

    I will never even walk in to a PetSmart again after my experience there. I took my morkie dog to get him groomed at Abbotsford be location, dropped him off they told us when to come back to pick him up. When we arrived back to get him they said he'd be another hour. So we waited there not knowing why it's taking so long, (I now know it's so their vet could look at him) pick up my dog. I then pay for the grooming and am told nothing.

    When we get him home he wasn't able to sit and just kept yelping, or licking himself. We checked him to find he has a cut down two sides of his balls, done by blades of scissors. We had to phone an emergency vet and he required 9 stitches on his balls and 4 on his ear. When I phoned their manager she said it wasn't possible. I tried contacting head office but got no response. After me constantly contacting the manager she paid the vet free but not the grooming free. Please save your pets from going through this and stay away from PetSmart.

    Inverness Store Hwy 280 groomers were rude from the beginning. When we arrived there, at least 5 groomers standing around. Said due to us being late, they would have a hard time finishing the dogs. We arrived at 3:20 they closed at 6:30. Told us we needed to be back on time. Wasted at least 10 minutes on a lecture. Within 10 minutes of leaving the store, we got 3 phone calls with problems. One of the dogs was cut while being groomed. End result, we picked up dogs without them finishing the dogs.

    I recently purchased a PetSafe underground fence system from my local PetSmart. My old system was acting up and I was afraid the transmitter was no longer functioning. I had a difficult time finding an employee and when I did he was rude and not helpful. Finally purchased the system. When I got to the car the bag was ripped and there was no receipt to be found. I checked the parking lot and couldn't find the receipt. I decided since I purchased the product with "plastic" I shouldn't have a problem returning the product if I needed to. I tried plugging the system in and was still having issues. Ended up rewiring the entire fence and plugging in my old transmitter and it was now working.

    Went back to PetSmart two days later to return the product and was told that without the receipt or use of a pets perk membership I would be unable to return the item or even get store credit. I told the manager that I had no receipt because the bag ripped and the receipt never made it into my vehicle the day I purchased the product. She asked several times what phone number my non-existent pets perk membership was under. I told her I don't have one and have no such membership with any store as I hate all the junk mail and spam emails. I contacted the company through their website was told "I am sorry you were unhappy with the product. Please see our return policy."

    If you have such a specific return policy this should be told to the client when purchasing the product not placed on a receipt that is placed in a ripped bag when the product is bagged just to be lost in the parking lot. Customer service obviously didn't read my complaint. If I ever thought I would shop at PetSmart this thought was completely removed after this encounter. I have never had an issue returning products without receipts when purchased with "plastic". Stores have been able to just scan my card and see the purchase and process the return.

    I took a healthy older dog into PetSmart in Selma, TX and was returned a dog bleeding from his rear end and his rectum fully prolapsed within 24-36 hours. My vet gave me the choice of putting him down or neutering him. I went with the latter, which cost over $400... so far. So now my dog has two significant injuries to overcome. PetSmart management is refusing to pay the bills claiming a pre-existing condition.

    My dog has NEVER had a prolapsed rectum. For full disclosure, my dog has had a polyp from his lower intestine and his left anal gland removed in one surgery well over a year ago. This is why I have since given the groomers explicit instructions to leave that side alone. For about three months afterward he had minute rectal bleeding off and on from a hemorrhoid that came and went. For more than six months, my dog has not had so much as blood in his stool. After leaving PetSmart on 3 July 2015, my poor dog painted blood on the car seats, everywhere he sat and the kitchen floor too. Bleeding of such magnitude has NEVER occurred in the past. A fully or even partially prolapsed rectum has never happened in the past.

    The groomers and management are claiming that my dog's nerves caused him to start bleeding. This dog, they used as one of their "Academy Dogs" to train new groomers. "Academy Dogs" are chosen for their calm nature. The store manager called today and asked what she could do to help and I answered, "Pay for the vet bills." She refused, and blamed every subsequent event on the nerves of the dog. Their Academy Dog. I don't find them honest or trustworthy. I will now make it my mission, to ensure that for every $1 I spend saving this dog's life, PetSmart will lose $10 in retained earnings. Don't bring your animals here, bring them to someone you can trust.

    My 8 year old golden retriever was attacked by a young German shepherd in the PetSmart grooming salon while waiting in line to check in. He did nothing to provoke an attack and did not fight back. He had to have two staples to close the bleeding gap in his muzzle. The waiting area is small, and crowded because there were several dogs waiting. PetSmart's reaction: "We are only a third party. We have no responsibility. It is between you and the other dog's owner." They should check their "duty to an invitee." My dog wasn't safe there, and I will never be back. I am writing this to warn other dog owners.

    We made an appointment at Pet Smart because our regular groomer was on vacation. My husband dropped off our Irish setter and was asked would he like her hair cut to 1/2 inch "all over" and he said "no but an inch would be fine". We've had her groomed many times and according to breed standards as outlined in the book for groomers, she has had her haircut down to an inch and a half BUT never have the groomer's shaved off her side, leg and tail feathers. They were always trimmed but never shaved off completely with a poof at the end of her tail. PetSmart claims because we didn't tell them to scissor trim her feathers, that we have made the error.

    First off I think as a business that prides themselves on 100% customer satisfaction guarantee and as professional dog groomers, that they would take more care in understanding different breeds and cuts by asking the right questions if it's not a breed they are not familiar with. And, that guarantee... when I went in to confront them, all they did was put the blame on my husband and offered no refund but would make a note on her file. Ha! Like we would ever go back there. All they do is shave, they don't know the first thing about grooming.

    My 30 lbs dog allegedly fell off the second level kennel at the grooming salon. They rushed him to the veterinary in the store which is Banfield. I trusted the vet's judgement and recommendations, but if I didn't take him to my vet for a second opinion, my dog would have died. It seems as though that was the goal for PetSmart, and that is disgusting! They admit it was their fault, however. They are going to cover the charges for the MRI that he is getting as well as his hospitalization. He might need surgery but they cannot assume full responsibility for it until their corporate vets take a look at my doctor's notes. My first priority is for my dog to surpass this to live a long, happy life. But I feel I have a case against PetSmart in general. Has anyone gone through this or have any kind of advice?

    I called the main line to book for my dog for a short weekend stay. Everything sounded ok and I opted to get a few "extras" like nail grinding, and individual time for play and one on one. I got to the hotel and it was downhill from there. Wrong time, no vaccine info from vet, as promised, wrong phone # etc... I had to go home and get personal file on dog. Big inconvenience on my part. Said they'd resolve... Picked my dog up and charged full price without offering a discount for their screw up. NEVER, NEVER again will I take him there. He came out and was stressed and anxious barking and jumping. He minds my commands but I couldn't calm him down till I let the poor thing run in local dog park. This placed sucked.

    I took my two dogs to be groomed at PetSmart at Mayfaire. I gave myself a 45 minute window to fill out paperwork. The two workers could not get the computer to accept any information. So they called the manager after 20 minutes. She then attempted to do it again. Another 10 minutes of my time. I asked if they had a backup plan for when their computers went down and they all looked blank. I said, "I will be glad to sign a paper that my dogs are healthy and I have left them for grooming and then I will fill out the computer paperwork on my return".

    The manager said, "We can't even let them behind this counter without the correct paperwork." I said, "That's funny because they are already back there." I then said, "Can we just use common sense here and let me get to my appointment?" The manager said, "Well, let me call ** and see if he can fix the computer." At that point I said, "what do you want me to do because now I don't have time to take my dogs home and make my appointment." Then the floor sweeper girl decided to add her two cents. "We can't help it if our computers aren't working, it's not our fault." I collected my dogs and left. Why does PetSmart let young people be managers if they can't think outside the box? They lost $120.00 worth of services today, and my business in the future. Where is customer service?

    I made an appointment to have my dog groomed for 9 am on a weekday. Appointments are blocked every hour so I assumed my appointment would take about an hour and settled down to work. When I was told to pick my dog up four and half hours later, I was incredulous. Doesn't 'appointment' mean a mutually agreed time to perform a service? I was told there were several other dogs in line before mine (at 9 am!) and they would get to him when you got to him. This begs the question what they were doing the previous two hours with the dogs with earlier appointments. Look - either honor the appointment time or tell me when I book the appointment that it may take up to 5 hours to complete. Either way, I am not coming back.

    Purchased fish from PetSmart, on the back of the receipt sell the fish back to them. However when I went to sell it back they said that they do not take fish back but you can donate them to them. How can they sell a fish to you and resell the fish? It seems to me that make it a double profit.

    Doors opened at 10 am on Sunday morning 04/12/15. I was the first customer in. I turned down an aisle and fell forward onto my knees, elbows and wrists. I twisted my back/neck. Got up and was confused, looked back to see what I had slipped on. There was a bunch of water on the floor and a janitor on the next aisle with a bucket of water. I immediately went and told the cashier at the front. She said normally they are done by now. She would go check it out. I went to work the next day, left early because my back hurt so bad and I could not sit, went back to store and filed incident report. Next day went to urgent care and they took me off work for the week.

    This is my complaint after almost 2 1/2 months. I still can't get definite answers to who the cleaning company is and who is responsible for my lost wages and medical bills. I've had the run around with Petsmart, Farmers, Scottsdale Ins Co, Allied Cleaning Company and Sparkle Janitorial. At this point I believe Petsmart is responsible to get this figured out!

    I'm embarrassed to say this is the second time the grooming service has butchered my dog. This time I'm not filing a complaint because all they do is comp your next grooming. I won't be returning. I made it clear to them that they need an experienced groomer for him because he is very old and I did not want him stressed out. After 4 hours not hearing from them I went back to the store and they were still working on him! I had to wait another half hour. Four and a half hours to trim my miniature schnauzer. That is not only ridiculous but stressful to my dog. The groomer turned out to be a teenage trainee. She just cut all his hair off saying it was a little matted which apparently means they are too lazy to properly comb him out - again ridiculous considering the $40 to $60 cost for grooming (plus expected tip).

    He was having trouble walking for the next few days so I checked his paws and found that she had broken one of his toes trying to trim his nails. I had to take him to the vet who saved his toe but it cost me $200. In Lincoln, for the same price, I can take him to Abbi's where the groomers are mature professionals and properly comb him out regardless of snarls and matting and they do it in one to two hours max; and he comes back calm and happy. Before you take your pet to Petsmart groomer ask yourself if you would take yourself to a barber school for your haircut. If not then take your pet elsewhere.

    In April my mom bought my 5 yr old son fish for his birthday. They were all on sale and healthy looking... Now I have had fish tanks all my life and have never had a problem with what I'm about to tell you... When we got the fish home and in the tank they were all swimming around happy. Then a couple of days later one of his Mollies starts to act funny and that night it died. Ok you wouldn't think it a big deal so we went and PetSmart replaced it but then more fish when we got home were dead and we replaced those... I even had the ph tested and it was good....

    Well anyways I didn't want to replace the dead fish with the same kind so we bought tangs and a sucker fish. Ya they all died after I couldn't get my money back for them and my 5 yr old asked me "mommy why did all my birthday fish die?" And it broke my heart cause you didn't have an answer.... So I did some research and found out that PetSmart likes to sell sick fish and the ones that are on sale are most of the time the sick ones to where they sell those to people just to have them die a few days later. After seeing my son upset with his fish dying I'm never shopping at PetSmart for anything at all.

    We gave this dewormer to our Dachshunds. Sentry worm x plus, a couple days ago. The next day we came in the house and found our little Sophie dead. She had lost everything in her body. We thought she had a stroke. But now our other little doxie girl is very ill and my partner is taking her to the animal Hosp in South Austin. I think she is dying. This stuff is toxic.... Now I read where other dogs have died or are very ill and cost hundreds of dollars in medical bills. Help I don't even have enough to cover the one on the way to the hosp bills. They are our babies.... What can I do... Help.

    I call to set up appointment to have my 3 pound Yorkie groom. I had an appointment schedule at 11:00am on June 13 on the phone. She said they need a copy of her rabies shot. When I got to PetSmart I inform them that she had a disk issue to be careful with her back end but she is ok. I put her on the floor and she was walking and trying to get back in my arms. They were putting a lead leash on her and I stated that she will not walk on a leash. At that time they refuse to groom her because she would not walk on a lead leash. There are a lot of dogs that will not walk on a lead leash and that should not stop them from grooming a petite dog. It took me 45 minutes to get to PetSmart just to be turn down. I requested to speak to the manager of the store and she said she was a manager so I got nowhere with her. I even offer to have the vet to look at her and they would not agree to that either.

    I took my dog, into petsmart to get groom. They in turn called me back to pick him up, because they said he was being aggressive because of other dogs being there so I had to pick him up with half of his hair cut on one side. I have never been this pissed off in my life, so I had to find another pet salon that would take. The new salon had no problem with him and they had other pets there. Petsmart you did me a favor, thanks to you I found a new salon for my dog.

    It doesn't take more than 2X for me to learn that taking your dog to PetSmart in Mount Olive, NJ, ITC Shopping Center, is a huge waste of time & money. Have a cockapoo, around 12 pounds, asked for shampoo, cut, nails and ears & the fee would be 80 plus tax. They missed a lot of places while trimming & I had to re-trim around her eyes. Was still scratching her ears then I saw her ears were not done. I pulled out much from there! And after their 'special spray ' wore off, she smelled as if I had not taken her! So I paid 80 dollars pretty much to have my dog shaved down and took five hours to get her back. Never again!

    The first time I brought my shih tzu (Yogi) puppy to PetSmart was for a grooming (haircut, shampoo, nail clipped, etc.). Everything was perfect. She looked so cute. I bought her back a second time for the same grooming. I came back 3 hours later to pick her up. She looked the same as before I dropped her off. They said they only could cut her back, not her face. A shih tzu face is one of the important things that need to be cut and trimmed. This is because a different person cut her, not the same person that did it the first time. I still had to pay full price for a service I did not receive. I might have waited 6 months before I took her to PetSmart again.

    I told the girl that checked her in what happened the second time she was there. I told her if they can't cut her then call me, that I was not going to pay again for a service that my dog does not receive. She said she would call if they couldn't cut her. They said I could pick her up 3 hrs. later. I called to see if she was ready. The girl stated she was finishing cutting her nails so I could come now. I went to pick up my dog. First they brought the wrong dog out. Then they brought out the second dog. I said "That not my dog." She said "Yes she is." They cut all the hair off my dog till she didn't look anything like a shih tzu. I still do not recognize my dog. I had to call 3 people to help me identify if this way my dog.

    The girl then told me that she could not get the hair on her tail, ears or by her toes 'cause she kept trying to bite. She said that she cut one side of her nails but not the other side, and that I could not bring her back again 'cause they can't cut her. Are you SERIOUS? You mess my dog completely up and you make it her fault. Way to go PETSMART!!! I asked her to let me speak to the manager. I explained everything like I did on the post. He said he would give me a discount. Then I showed him my dog face, he said my bill was free.

    I went with my sister to Petsmart to get two fancy goldfish. She comes home and puts them in her tank. Two days later two out of the four fish have anchor worm, one of the new ones and one that she has had for four months so I quarantine the fish and hope for the best. Then I go to the website and not receive any help so I go to fish parasite website. It said to carefully remove the anchor worms with tweezers and put them back into their own separate quarantine tanks. After twelve hours the two others have gotten the worms. Then a day later all of the fish die so I recommend not shopping there. My sister only shops there because it is less expensive than the better store Petco or pet supermarket.

    I adopted my dog Benji from a rescue at PetSmart-have taken him in for grooming for 2 years with no problems and great people at the grooming salon and in the store. This past week I took him in-had scheduled appointment online and requested a groomer that I was sure had groomed him before. They always tell me how good he is and they enjoy working on him.

    Usually it is less than two hours and he is ready. His appointment was 12:30- 3 pm. I went in the store to see if he was ready and he was on the table-about 4 or 5 groomers standing around-one brushing him. He was to be shaved so I wondered why they were just now brushing him but stood at the window watching as I was curious to see how it was done. He had grown long hair and it is getting hot now so the shave is good for summer months.

    Anyway after watching for about 5 minutes and seeing the groomer had stopped and was visiting with the other groomers I went inside and asked how much longer. The groomer says "oh about an hour." My dog was standing on the table with his tail tucked between his legs looking upset. I said "he has been here 2 1/2 hours and he needs another hour?" She just shrugged and said "yeah." I said "maybe if you were working on him instead of visiting he would be closer to being done."

    I went upfront and asked for a manager who went back to talk to the groomer. In the meantime I talked to one customer who had her dog groomed. They had signed in after I left. Another woman was there same thing. They were also done and signed in after us. The manager came back and they were not visiting? Excuse me I watched. Anyway another hour passed before he was done. I told the manager we would not be back for anything. She offered to do the grooming for free that day but I paid anyway.

    If they had just acknowledged that they had messed up and acted ass though we mattered as customers I would not have been so mad. Oh-he did not have the groomer I requested as she was expecting and he was too large. He is about 40 lbs. I am done with PetSmart and will either learn to groom him myself or find another groomer. Oh and I paid $70 to have such a great day!

    I dropped my 4yo Maltese Dog to get groomed at PetSmart Store #1487 at 2:30pm for a 3:00pm appointment. At 4:23 I received a call from Manager saying there had been an incident. The groomer clipped him on his back and they had taken him to Banfield Hospital #1487 right next door. She said they put glue on the injury because it was a superficial laceration. When I got there she changed the story and said that they put 3 staples in to keep the wound closed. And the injury was not on his back but on his stifle or knee. Why would staples be required if it was just superficial? I called the police to have a report made. Emailed PetSmart Corp and never heard back.

    Would like to say that I started the business where I work managers are very disrespectful. Put people down I had to quit. They pushed me into leaving my job by harassing me and bullying and threaten. I seen a lot of things being done that should not be. I wanted to leave BECAUSE I did not want to be a part of it.     I need your help in how to handle this matter. I got turtle from PetSmart in Orange Ct. His name was Earl, he had eye infection. I called PetSmart because he was under warranty. They told me I had no worry since I bring him back by the last day of the warranty, which I did in the next day. I asked them if I could bring him to PetSmart close to my house and they told me no because that was the store policy. So I drove all way to Orange Ct, so he could be seen by exotic animal vet. That was in Saturday morning. They told me to call back by Wednesday because since was weekend, they had to wait until Monday morning to contact them. Monday came and I called and I was told that Earl was going to have a appointment on the coming Friday.

    When Friday came I called on the end of the day to find out how he was and I was told the he saw the exotic vet on the Monday before. Every person I spoke on that store gave diff. story every time. Has been 1 1/2 month now and diff. stories every time I call. He's getting better, but he needs to stay here longer, because of the meds for his eye. Finally I called today again, and I was on hold on the phone for 25 min. When the girl told me she was trying to get hold of the pet care manager by name **, which he wasn't at the store for the past two days because he was off, so she put me on hold again. And when she came back to the phone she asked me what I knew so far about the turtle (Earl). So I told her that I call all the time and I'm never able to speak with the pet care manager, and every time I talk to someone, it's diff. story.

    So I was going to wait and hear from her, her story. That's when I was told that Earl the turtle died on Sunday and the pet care manager was going to call me tomorrow to let me know. My next question was, so since the pet care manager is not around why the store manager didn't call me? Or someone from that department. The answer was, that the store manager is not responsible for that department, and only the pet care manager does that. Don't you think that when you leave your love one, your pet at places like that, they should be taken care the right way, and they should keep the owner knowing everything that's going on? Well I guess they don't see that way, and it's sad to hear over the phone that: "Oh, I'm sorry but your pet died two days ago".

    On June 2, 2015, I had a horrible visit at PetSmart store #0198, 5415 W Loop South, Houston, TX 77081 wanted to warn you all as well. I took my 2 year old Cavalier, Teddy at 8 AM this morning for what was supposed to be a morning groom (3-4 hrs), didn't get him back until almost 7 hrs and phone calls later. When my brother called at 1, they said Teddy was getting a bath. When I called at 2:30 asking why he still wasn't ready, they told me Teddy was misbehaving and had made it so they couldn't groom him on schedule. I called the store manager to complain, after I had Teddy out of there and safely at home. After researching, she told me it was a scheduling mistake, and that no one realized he was there then admitted that by the time they got to him, he was so stressed and frantic that the groomer had a hard time settling down; the groomer, who has seen Teddy before, even told the Manager he has always been an excellent dog.

    So 1) first employee in grooming department lied to me saying they were delayed only because Teddy was bad 2) they had my dog in a kennel for over 5 hrs and never checked on him 3) they admitted to stressing him out to the point he wouldn't hold still for a groomer, and this is an easy going happy go lucky dog. Then the Manager tells me they will give me 20% off my next purchase and to please come again. I told her that I was no longer doing business with any PetSmart location, and would share this experience with as many people as I possibly could to prevent such a thing happening to their beloved pets.

    I go to PetSmart to buy my African cichlids (a type of fish) they have a pretty good selection. The workers there do not seem to know much about fish, which I understand since they have a lot of animals they need to know information about and fish is probably last on their list. If you are going to get fish make sure you do some research on how big their tank needs to be, what temperature their water should be, what fish can live together, etc. I also bought my two winter white hamsters from PetSmart. They have a pretty good section. Both the hamsters are healthy and happy.

    Again make sure you do some research because most of the cages there are way too small for hamsters. They do have some bigger cages available though. I do think that the cages they keep their hamsters in is too small. But the lady that helped us seem to really like the hamsters and knew each kinds personality and such. I also object to the way the beta fish are kept. Just because they can survive in a little cup of still water doesn't mean that's how they should house them.

    Ok. Here's fair. We're all familiar with how when you pay via debit card at PetSmart you're begged to donate to help feed homeless pets. I use to always donate until I received a tip and investigated. It seems that when pet food expired at PetSmart they'd rather take the bags of food cut them open and pour the contents in their dumpster rather than donate it to a local animal shelter or donate it somewhere so it's feeding homeless pets. SHAME on you PetSmart. Don't try the "it's expired therefore a health hazard" bit either. Homeless humans are fed expired spoiled food everyday - even roadkill. PetSmart you're cheesy.

    Terrible experience. Buena Park Store. Just picked up two different bags of dog food and they were infested with maggots. One bag was a Simply Nourish Lamb Pee Recipe and the other was a Simply Nourish Grain Free Chicken and Turkey. Both bags were sealed and they were not expired. Not an isolated issue as these bags came from two different store locations. Again, both bags were infested with white and brown maggots. OPEN THE BAGS AND CHECK THEM BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE. The store will not be responsible for any damages.

    Like many things PetSmart has its ups and downs. I still shop there for pet supplies but I wouldn't recommend buying an animal there. At the PetSmart located nearest to my house they claim to be an all female animal store to prevent unwanted breeding. I was looking at the guinea pigs and noticed a boar in with the sows. There was a very high chance that every sow in there was pregnant. They denied there being a boar in there and I made them take him out so I could show them that she was really a he. They then said that the guinea pigs were only 2 months and couldn't get pregnant. Sows can become pregnant at 4 weeks of age and boars can impregnate sows when they're as young as 3 weeks old. So not only did they lie about only having female animals they also didn't know much about the animals there.

    I took my dog to doggie daycare in Lewisville, TX on 5/20. When I arrived I noticed another dog being aggressive with my dog and I immediately mentioned it. Interestingly, they knew what dog I was speaking of and stated it has to do with people coming to the window, that they had been playing earlier. I knew this to be a lie because my dog rarely interacts. He's very chill.

    Upon getting in the car I could smell poop. As soon as I lifted his tail there was poop matted to his behind. I was furious. I immediately took him home and bathed him. Who knows how long it was there during the day. A few days later my dog stopped eating and became lethargic. Over the past few days I tried to treat him, only to find myself at the emergency vet today. Over $300. He had a bacterial infection.

    I called the Lewisville PetSmart hotel and spoke with the manager, asking if anyone else complained about their dog being sick. Of course the answer was "No." I brought up the poop issue and let's just say she laughed. There's nothing funny about my dog being sick! She went as far as to say she knew more about our pets than most owners. Are you freaking kidding me? She made it a point to bring up that I'm just now complaining! Yeah lady, my dog has been sick and my attention was on him. I stopped shopping at PetSmart months ago. Clearly I will not return for doggie daycare in the future. If you take your pet, be careful. This could happen to your beloved dog.

    Omg!! I called around everywhere and all the other grooming spots was booked until next month so we went on Google and we spotted the new PetSmart in Goldsboro had a grooming department. We called and they booked us right away and they were cheap. I was so excited to take my Maltese in the next morning. I got there and an lady greeted me and asked what cut we wanted. I showed her the picture and they said "OK we can do that." Before walking out the lady said "would you like the premium groom?" And I replied "what may that be?" She said "nail filing and a special shampoo." I asked "how much?" She said "$22 all together." I said "sure thank you." Got an call after an 1 1/2. She said "I have to cut your puppy hair around her stomach and chest area shorter than expected because there's matting." I said "how short?" She said "it will be short but it will blend well and look good." I said "OK that's fine y'all are the professionals."

    Now I do know my pup had a few tangles here and there but not to the point she couldn't brush them out. She was just too freaking lazy to brush them out. 2 hours later she was done. I picked my puppies up and the lady gives my the receipt and ask me to take to cashier. I got to cashier and couldn't believe the price. I saw $65 freaking dollars. I immediately went back in to ask her questions and she says you agreed to get the special. I was so angry because she told me I would only charged $22. I'm thinking my pup better look like Paris Hilton or something for the price really a 5 month old puppy??? I had to leave out to get fresh air. I was so angry my mom then called to question her. She lied again. That's not even the worst. I paid and just said "I would never go back there again!" Got my pup and she looked like a rat!! I couldn't believe my eyes. My heart was broken. WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BABY!!!

    I couldn't do nothing but leave and I was so pissed before I left I saw another dog looked the exact same way.. Smh all the dogs was cut the same way, all they good for is taking the trimmers and going straight to the skin. My poor puppy was so happy to see me she couldn't wait to leave the terrible grooming place. She even knew something was wrong and she's still sad. It was terrible and I got charged extra just to see my puppy look like a freaking rat! I'm still mad. Never everrrr again. Please go elsewhere you will get the same #4 trimmers as everyone else. The store was nice but the grooming was the worst uggghhhhhh. I'm done!

    I made a appointment at the PetSmart in Hampton Va. I was to have my 10 month old Morkie Tyson bathed and groomed on May 19, 2015 at 3:00 pm. The first red flag was all the dogs seem to cut really low. They where all terriers so I figured maybe the owner wanted that. The second red flag was when I heard another dog scream because the groomer cut the dog's nail too short. I told them I wanted him cut down lower. They showed me a chart of how low it would be. I was satisfied with the length that was showed to me. I was in formed that it would be 3-4 hours. Around 6:45 I received a call from a ** stating that Tyson was "snippy" (whatever that mean) and that they could not cut him because he wouldn't be still. At that time she informed me that a manager was working on him. I was under the impression they where not finished he wasn't cut and figured they would call me back when they where finished.

    At 6:59 I received another call stating that they close at 7:00 and I needed to pick him up. I said I was on the way but the other employee didn't say he was done. I called my husband to pick him up. When he arrived Tyson was nowhere around. He said the groomers were trying to explain what happened. Said he was humping the staff he was not cooperating. So he asked to see his dog. They still wouldn't bring him out. 2 more employees came out and when still trying to explain at this point he asked to just bring him his dog. He wasn't prepared for what he saw.

    They had shaved him bold down to his pink flesh!!! He told them that wasn't his dog and then stated they might want to get a manager because he wasn't paying for it. He didn't have a bath. They didn't clean his eyes. They didn't even brush him. Tyson has been to that PetSmart twice before with great results. I will never take him there again. They shouldn't have inexperienced people working on our pets! He looks like one of those bold Chinese dogs. That's not his breed. I would had rather picked him up dirty than to see him like this! They should all be fired! He seems very different hiding, shaking withdrawn. Never again!

    My puppy was boarded from May 15 - May 18, 2015 at the PetSmart Hotel in Alexandria, VA. I was dismayed when I arrived to get my puppy. The employee said she would go get him, which took about 10 minutes and I wondered why the time frame was so long. Once I saw him, I noticed he was damp and the employee stated they had just bathed him, which really raised suspicion on my part because bathing is an additional fee. When I inspected him, I noticed he had stains of feces on his bottom area, totally unacceptable. He also had a scab on each front leg and I was told he laid on a cement floor the entire stay which means Petsmart is false advertising because a lambskin bed is supposed to be included in the boarding fee.

    My puppy's leash and collar was brought to me in a plastic bag and both were stained with feces. I was certainly upset to the point of blowing my top. I don't mistreat my pet at home and I'm certainly not going to tolerate anyone else mistreating him, especially when I have to pay to ensure he is well taken care of. The Humane Society needs to get involved with this facility and close them down. The employees they have are not pet lovers but merely there to get a pay check. Considering animals can't talk, I will be an advocate and take the necessary steps to get my point across.

    I bought a vinyl dog house at Petsmart 4 months ago and paid $200.00 for it. After sitting outside for 4 months the top started warping and discoloring so I returned it with my receipt. For $200.00 the dog house should have held up better than this. Petsmart manager offered a store credit only and would not give me a credit on my credit card. The manager told me he would be fired if he refunded my money on my credit card. I called Petsmart corporate offices and they told me they will not take returns on items after 60 days even if it is defective. No exceptions under any circumstances, EVER. So now my $200.00 is held hostage by Petsmart until I spend it in their store. Petsmart does not stand behind what they sell so buyer beware.

    Horrible place to go. I have an English bulldog. I went in for emergency and they didn't take my dog. And I got there before another person who didn't have an appointment and they took another person's dog in for a check up. And my dog's paw was bleeding and swollen she couldn't even walk.     I watched an elderly couple come for their puppy class and they had gotten there early. They thought they were missing their class so they walked in and sat down in a class in progression. The dog trainer loudly announced that they were in the wrong class and to leave immediately! The elderly couple came in the store all bubbly and ready for a nice experience and left looking dejected and embarrassed. I felt sorry for them and there is no reason why they couldn't have just sat there and watched the progressing class. ** makes many people feel stupid.

    Yesterday my husband took my two children (dogs), one who is a white Maltese, the other is a Maltese poodle mix to PetSmart in Carl D. Silver Parkway, Fredericksburg to have a simple grooming of the under belly, rear shaved, toe nail clip, bath and ear cleaning. One was to get what they call a (1/4 or puppy cut). Mind you I have been taking them there for approximately four years, so they should have a record of what I have done to my dogs. Much to my dismay, when my husband picked up my children (dogs), they had shaved all their hair off, with the exception of the hair on their heads.

    The Maltese poodle mix is shaven so close to his skin, that his testicles are somehow irritated and very red. On his back right leg dewclaw (toe nail) is nearly hanging on. He will not eat and hide behind the couch. He use to just run around and aggravated, the other Maltese. It is like they took his soul. The Maltese is the one that was suppose to get the (1/4, puppy cut), but yet they also shaved him down to his skin. I can not get him to walk more than four steps before he stops to sit down.

    Needless to say, I will never ever be going back to this store for absolutely nothing. What is the reason for them to have your phone number, if when a situation arise and they can not give you a courteous call to get your permission before, doing something to your child without your permission. It should be against the law for them to do such things. Even though some people might look at them as animals, those of us that have them look at them as our children.

    I made reservations, online, for my puppy to stay at the Pet Hotel while I traveled out of town. I made the reservations one month in advance. I called to confirm the reservation and I received a confirmation email. Then, four days before I was to drop my puppy off, they called and said that he needed TWO of the Bordetella vaccines, not the normally required one which was fine, as we had a vet appointment that morning so I asked for the 2nd vaccine. Then, when I called PetSmart back to confirm that my puppy had his second vaccine, they told me that he couldn't stay because he was only 15 weeks old and their policy was 16 wks old. I had to scramble to find other care for him. I put his birthday on the original registration forms and NOWHERE did it state an age limit. I would NOT recommend the Pet Hotel unless you are willing to have NO communication and scramble to find alternate care.

    I took my 1 yr old female dog on 4/25/15 for a full groom. Have been there before - ok grooming but always had to brush her out because they would leave the groomed hair I think so she would have to get their short cut. I brush her daily and do ear care because she is an American cocker - I like the long look. On Friday 4/24/15 I brushed her out - no mattes, no knots, and no clip burns on either side of her face. On Sunday she started rubbing her face on anything she could - the carpet, her bed, my bed - it was so bad. On Monday I checked her for fleas - no fleas. I had her face in my hand. I touched her. Check between the ear and eye. I felt around and hit a clipper burn then I checked her other cheek and another clipper burn.

    I clipped my cockers myself for years and no license or certificate never did I give them a clippers burn. I have read how PetSmart don't own up to things. Their groomers do not even in the case of death. So I went to Petco - got wound cleaner and got antibiotic ointment because my vet said to and I'm cleaning and caring for my dog. We won't be spending 98.00 (for 2 dogs) plus tip again.

    I was told by the trainer, **, that if I came over with my rescue dog, he would spend 1 hour playing with my dog with his agility equipment. He would help evaluate my dog. I thought this seemed very generous but realized that he might get a new client out of it. I called him to say I would be a little late and asked if that was ok or should I make another appointment. He said to come on over but that he had an appt after me. I arrived and he was with another woman and her dog. He was very rude to me and said "Why would I spend an hour and not get paid?" He should have communicated more clearly. In other words I drove all the way over there for nothing, 40 miles round trip. I explained it to the manager and she was not helpful.

    Every PetSmart I have ever been in, everyone of their reptiles are in extremely small cages. They don't have the proper lighting, misting systems or habitat. They just throw crickets in that haven't been dusted with vitamins and half and sometimes all the reptiles are sick with MBD, skin problems or something! I'm sick of it! I purchased a veiled chameleon from there hoping to save it. He had MBD. Did everything I could but he died 3 weeks later. : ( They shouldn't be allowed to sell them!!

    I took my dog to the grooming salon as I have been doing for years. My regular groomer has been absent the last few visits. I was horrified to see today how busy they were and saw a groomer with a small black dog. She repeatedly kept nicking this dog during trimming causing him to yelp. Then I was told it would be 4-5 hours before I could come back to pick up my dog.

    When picking my dog up, another groomer had a large German Shepherd on a small table and he fell off. This groomer roughly wrestled him back up on the table and yelled at him to be quiet. Then I was told that my dog was very nervous during his visit today. Well no wonder! God only knows what kind of treatment he got while I was gone. And I specifically asked for his face and ears to be trimmed short. And they barely touched his face. I paid $12.00 extra for nail grinding and his nails are still too long.

    I called the store and spoke to the manager to complain and it was obvious that he did not care. I spoke of the treatment of the animals I had witnessed and he just said "oh, I'm sorry" and asked if I wanted to bring my dog back for a touch-up! I told him that I will not be coming back and will be finding a new groomer. He didn't even care. I would advise anyone who loves their animals to not go to PetSmart for grooming. You never know what is happening to your dog when you are not there!

    Took my dog in to be groomed which I have done for the last 4 years. I have a poodle, but don't want any fancy cut, simple close face and shaved body. We usually go home to a few nicks on the paws, and the dog usually takes care of himself and a couple weeks later no more problems. This occasion my dog cut was horrible. Uneven, and even on his body had been nicked, and had a visible scab about the size of a tick (which I thought it was) in a close inspection a day or two after the grooming. No big deal, it was very small and it was a scab, so I though it would simply go away.

    A few days later I woke up to a large open wound the size of a quarter and immediately called the store to see what I could do. The store manager said to bring to dog in so they could look at it at Banfield. I took the dog in a couple hours later after getting kids to school and tending to my work to find a different manager, and after explaining that the vet bill would be on me since I didn't report the incident within 24 hours. Okay, I was there, and the vet was there, so I was going to accept that and pay with a credit card, then dispute the charges. (Always 2 ways to skin a cat - right?)

    At this time I called Petsmart HQ and made a formal complaint. They told me 5-5 business days I would hear from someone. Seems long in the day of customer service but okay. So I did and $150 later, and a next visit a week later, and $50 more dollars as a follow-up. The nick became infected and some sort of staff infection occurred and had now opened up and drained while I was not home creating a stain on some furniture.

    Took dog back to Banfield and wound was cleaned again, and was given an option to do surgery to heal wound at a cost of $600. Waited until I was to hear back from Petsmart. Called 1 week later, and was told at HQ that someone was going to call me in 1-2 days. Called 3 days later and was told they have my file but no one was assigned yet. They will escalate the call and someone will call me within 3 days... Great Customer service Right?? This place will steal money from you and then tell you "thanks for shopping here." I will never step foot in a Petsmart again. I am willing to talk it over, but they simply don't give a flying ** about anyone's pet.

    On Saturday 04/18/2015 We had a confirmed appointment for our Dog to get groomed so at 11:30 I Arrived only to be told that the wait time was 3 to 3.5 hours. I asked why did we even make an appointment and wasn't that the whole reason to make an appointment. My time is valuable and I really don't feel like kenneling my dog at that place because it is kind of disgusting. The one time that we did leave the dog in the kennel for his grooming there he came home with fleas all over him. So the woman set me up for a express cut for 5 pm on 23 April 2015. I specifically asked of any additional charges. For this she said no.

    So I get over there and asked about additional charges. And I am told, "Yes it's $11 more for the express cut." I said "Just forget it." It's Not the amount of money. If I had been told upfront that there was an additional charge I would have no problem with it but that was not the case. This is nothing more than a bait and switch. I will never ever go back in Petsmart or use any of the services they have to offer. Nor will I ever recommend Petsmart quite the contrary. If the services at all of the PetSmarts Are as lousy as they are at the PetSmart In Gainesville Virginia I am shocked that they are still in Business. Sincerely, a long time Now Ex customer.

    I just moved to Florida from Tennessee and my Husky has never had an issue with the PetSmart in TN so I took him to the one here in Melbourne, FL off of Evans Rd. We dropped him off saying that we just wanted the normal done (haircut, bath, and nails cut). About 2 or 3 hours later the groomer, **, called us to say that he was unable to be groomed due to his "bad behavior" and they were going to have to send him home. We went to pick him up and just asked if she would try to finish the groom while we were standing there since it was a new environment and maybe having us in the room he would be more call.

    They had only cut the hair on his back (his head, feet, legs, belly, had all been left untouched.. nails were not clipped), there were a few random places on the back of his neck that looked like they had been randomly grabbed by the clippers. They cut his nails with us there and he did perfectly fine and stood very still for them. We asked if they would try to finish the groom since he did fine with the nail clipping.

    When she tried to bring him back behind the gate to the grooming area he put the breaks on and obviously did not want to go back to her. She tried to groom him, being very aggressive with both the brush and the clippers that my dog (who never whines even when his feet are stepped on) was audibly whimpering and crying. Needless to say, after witnessing ** groom my dog, PetSmart in Melbourne Florida will NOT have my business.

    I left my dog to be groomed at the PetSmart location in Anderson SC. It was not the first time he had been groomed there. On one occasion he had razor burn on his tummy area, but I did not realize it until he was home. On the next visit, upon talking with the attendant that checked my dog in, I told her that on the previous visit, he had razor burn and asked that they please be careful. I also wrote this on the paper that she asked me to sign for his grooming on this day. We discussed the type cut he was to get, the blade that they were to use, a # 5, that his nails were to be filed. She had written all of this on the paper that she asked me to sign.. ** was to clip him. I agreed to everything as recorded and signed the paper. ** was not at the shop, was running late, so I didn't actually talk to her before leaving my dog.

    They called me to say he was ready to pick up. When my dog was brought out to me, he had almost no hair. He had been clipped so short that I could see his pink skin. I asked why he had been cut so short and was told that ** decided to use a # 7 blade instead of the one I had indicated. Once again, she was not there for me to talk with. My dog has very sensitive skin and he has been re, rashy, itching and all around miserable due to having been clipped so short. I complained and of course was not charged.

    However, that didn't excuse the fact that they ignored my instructions and just proceeded with whatever they decided to do. There was no reason for this to have happened. All that had to be done was for them to make a phone call to me to ask what my thoughts were on the shorter hair. I'm sure that this review is of no concern to PetSmart and that they could care less about my pet. I will tell everyone I come in contact with that has a need for a groomer to stay away from PetSmart. I will not be using their services at the grooming salon again. They obviously can't be trusted to follow your directions.

    I worked for PetSmart for just over 2 years in the stocking department. In those 2 years the back room was cleaned once. It was so miserably dusty and the eye wash was not full enough to work when I needed it. One pallet sat on the sales floor for 3 months because we had nowhere to put it. When the vent in the grooming salon detached from the ceiling I was recruited to fix it. I know personally that the salon vents and filters are never cleaned and are moldy and full of hair, a breathing hazard. PetSmart takes no responsibility. They say it's the property holders problem for many problems around the building that are specifically caused by the nature of their business. I finally quit after feeling lied to and mistreated by the store manager.

    The groomers treat your dog like crap. They swear at them, yank on them, carelessly drag your dog around while smacking their head off of the tables. I've seen them blow a high velocity dryer into the crate to get them to stop barking. They criticize the dogs and their owners. The manager is extremely disrespectful.

    My kids are grown and out of college so I adopted a rescue dog. I spend a good bit of money at the PetSmart in Tucker, GA. The rude female, masculine manager is nice as can be when I am buying a $50 bag of food but when I returned a very expensive item that was purchased online (unused and sealed) with a receipt, she treated me like I was a crook. In addition, I took my dog for a full groom and when I picked up my dog I gave the groomer a 30% tip. Once I got my dog home is was very lethargic like he had been drugged. He also got an ear infection because of the water she got in his ear. I had to pay $75 for an antibiotic and Dr. visit. Needless to say I won't go back. I didn't call and complain because I figured it would be fruitless. By all means stay away from Banfield. They almost killed my dog.

    I have used PetSmart for years, I currently have 3 dogs, the newest has only been there once or twice. I was unable to get two appointments any closer than 4 hrs apart, which, according to the new can't drop off until 15 mins before appointment rule, meant I would need to make 4 trips. I opted to just give one dog a spa day although two needed it. I interrupted my day to get there at 12:15 for my 12:30 and was told that the employee doing my cut didn't arrive until 12:30 and no one else could check me in!!

    So, I shopped. I went back in at 12:30 (12:29 to be exact) and was told she would be a minute AND had another customer to check in FIRST. (Really? Because I was under the impression you would be working on my dog at 12:30, that's what having an appointment generally means). In any case, that dog was in heat (duh, owner) so the discussion ensued as to what to do with it which was check her in… while I still waited… Check me in, give my dog a bath then crate him. Get the other persons dog, give her express bathing/grooming at about an hour and a half, check her out, then go back to my dog. (Hello! I'm not deaf, I hear you making this plan!)

    Meanwhile, I am also overhearing other employees complain about how busy it is and how many "walk-ins" they had today (Again really? You had space for walk-ins but couldn't give a "regular", not to mention good tipping, customer two appointments??) But, I digress… So, now we are ready to check in my dog. I've been here 25 mins at this point, mind you, and I am told you have no rabies vaccine record, but gee, you will call my, no doubt busy, vet and get them for me!! FOR ME? I've already given them to you and given you the option of keeping a copy which you declined because after all they are in your "system" now. That would be the same "system" my credit card info, email, phone number, address, and name are in… Have you misplaced that too? I am of the mind set that misplacing or losing information on clients is not acceptable, animal or human.

    I then spoke to the manager who also offered to call my vet, **. If I don't have time to wait for your staff to call, do you think I have time for you to call. Are you going to correct the leaving my dog in a crate for 1.5 hrs while you do someone else's too? I do not want someone rushing around my dog with sharp instruments. Needless to say, I left and will not be returning with any of my pets… and there is another pet store closer to me so my babies will not have to go without their morning greenie. After reading some of these, I am lucky, my dog(s) could have been injured. I'd rather learn to trim them at home! So, If you are going to use PetSmart, you might want to just walk-in, carry copies of all records with you at all times and pay in cash only, so your information doesn't go "missing" along with pet records.

    Took lhasa Apso in to be groomed. Wanted her to have a puppy cut and belly shaved because she had some knots on it. Well when I went to get her I was completely shocked they had shaved her whole body and never cut the hair on her face or tail. My beautiful Lhasa Apso now looks like a Chinese crested dog. Bald with long hair on her face and tail. I had to buy her a coat and I have to take her someplace else to get her hair cut on her face, head and tail.     I had been taking my dog to PetSmart for 2 years for grooming. The last two times I was there, it was very dirty. They did not keep up with sweeping the dog hair. I was not used to seeing it like that. The last time I asked to have her nails and the hair trimmed around her ears. After I picked her up and went home, I noticed that they did not cut her nails or trimmed around her ears. I had to take her to the vet to get it done. I will not take my dog to the Annapolis PetSmart anymore. It just isn't the same.

    Took my 12 lb shih tzu and 5 lb yorkie to Petsmart on 3/23/15 for a bath and hair trim and two different groomers cut off the tip of the yorkie's tongue and cut the corner of the shih tzu's eye barely missing the eyeball. Not to mention that the shih tzu had huge nicks and the yorkie's topknot had been cut off even though I instructed them not to do so. Clearly incompetent!     Petsmart has to be the worst place on the planet to take your dog to be groomed. I brought my 6 year old healthy shih tzu for a routine dog grooming. The dog groomer said to me "I hope this dog doesn't give me a hard time, I've had a bad day." 45 minutes later they called me to tell me my dog was DEAD. I have since learned of many other dog deaths since my own. I have now started the process to have a Bill passed called Bijou's Bill that will required ALL DOG GROOMERS to become licensed. Once this bill passes in my home state of NJ I intend to roll it out across the country.

    Your pet trainer started out ok, but then got worse - started to pick on my wife in a demeaning way to the point that on our #4 session today, I had to step in and set her straight on who the customer was and that I did not want my wife insulted like she was doing. The insinuation was that we were idiots that could not remember everything she wanted us to do. She talked down to my wife like she was a 1st grader that did everything wrong, and I will not let that happen from any service organization. I respectfully request a refund of our $104 and we will not attend any further classes. Your manager of that store might want to notice that her attendance has diminished every time we went to the sessions until today we were the only ones there.

We had just come through a very snowy winter and our dog when going outside loves to romp and roll in the snow and mind you I do give him baths in between total grooming. Admittedly he did have a few mats on his legs and hindquarters from rolling in the snow, etc. These people made me feel like I was the worst person on the face of the earth. My dog is by no means neglected in the least and is bathed regularly. They were trying to tell me that the mats made is skin sore which is total bull. He has a lot of lanolin in skin and his pores get clogged from time to time but the vet says to keep an eye on it and we do. These people had no reason whatsoever to give me a hard time regarding his skin. He does not have sores, he does have freckles and in fact has one on his tongue. I will never take him back there.

    Every time that I've brought my dog to the groomers here, there's about three people working and even though I've made an appt they don't get around to reaching my dog until three or four hours after she's been brought in... So my biggest issue is why do I need to make an appt when my dog sits in a foreign environment and gets even more worked up waiting to be groomed and then after the wait they have the gall to inform me my dog needs to be more social due to her anxiety while being groomed also for that (and not the panic of being there for seemingly no reason in a crate). She ends up with cuts and snips in her coat and claws "bc anxiety and socialism".

    I HATE and will NEVER return until they figure out that you don't line up more animals than one hour can take. Period. There's no reason for that. I have always made an appt out of what I thought to be courtesy. I would advise a local pet person especially one that travels to your home. It's the best way to not stress out or get your pet injured!!! This angry client has been going to PetSmart for years and nothing has changed in this dept for five years as of yet and the price has become unbelievable... From twenty when I began to forty five, for a shave and nail snip!!! You don't go to a hair salon after setting up an appt and patiently wait three hours to start, why would a dog with an appt. This company needs a better concept before they lose a lot more business.

I got one call from a female manager who was not the least bit helpful on the phone and had a bit of an attitude. I was told in the voicemail that they were having trouble contacting one of my references and to call back so they could try to help me figure something out. When I called all she said was they couldn't get ahold of someone. That was it. Now it's been almost three weeks and I haven't heard anything on whether or not I'm able to get this cat and if you ask me I don't think they are the slightest bit concerned about finding these poor animals homes as quickly as possible or they would actually keep trying to contact the references. Not just trying one time and not again. I'm not happy at all with the services.

    I love the fact that PetSmart is such a nice store and we can bring our beloved dogs with us, but it is truly not right that some dogs are not friendly enough to be among dogs that are there to have fun with their owners. Some really should be muzzled. Tonight I observed a young man just standing and enjoying his pet, his dog was being very good when a beast came up and proceeded to brutally attack this dog, it was terrifying. The young man while trying to break up the attack was then himself attacked and bleeding. I don't know what happened next but it was very disturbing that some miserable beast had to make such trouble. I hope and pray that the dog and his owner are ok. The vets were there immediately. Your store and the people are great but this is VERY disturbing. I feel like I am having an anxiety attack. I am sad.

    My daughter and I asked to see, be let in to the cat room. The employee that I asked responded with, "are you a serious adopter because you need to fill out an application first?" I honestly didn't know at that point because I didn't even get to see the cats. The least they could do is be kind enough to let the cats that are locked up in the cages, waiting to be adopted get some attention and have a chance to be adopted. I spend a lot of money at this Petsmart and also have my dog groomed there. I am disappointed in today’s experience.

    I took my two dogs, a chihuahua and an Australian shepherd into Pet Smart for a grooming appointment. I told them my chihuahua was very sensitive to getting her nails cut and I just to happened to walk by as a female worker was attempting to cut my dog's nails & it was going terribly. The female worker had two collars on my dog & she was fighting her nails being cut. When I got my dog back, at least three nails had been bleeding and my dog was shaking & holding on to me trying to hide.

    After that appointment, my dog would start shaking the moment we were in the parking lot of the store. Unfortunately, I use Banfield as my vet so had to go into the store. My Aussie also ran to me when her bath was over & hid behind me while I was paying. These are signs the grooming sections is terrible at their jobs. When I complained to the manager, I was met with nothing. He was pretty young and didn't seem to care at all. I will never go back to Pet Smart groomers and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. Beware if you take your pet to them!

    I have used the groomers at PetSmart on and off for the past three years. I will now NEVER return or even shop in the store. They completely ignored my requests and both the girl who checked him in and the guy who groomed him made for a very quick exit when I arrived to pick my baby up. He had a small cut below his eye. No one even cared to apologize or explain! He was clearly upset and reserved when I got him home.

    I keep giving them a second chance but every time I find a groomer there I like, they leave! This has now happened three times across two different PetSmart stores. They are way overpriced and the stupid written reports given when you pick up are just 'lip service.' Please PetSmart, credit your customers with a little more than above average intelligence. The report given to me read as follows, "Didn't like anything today but was sweet about it." This sentence in itself is an oxymoron. How can a dog be "sweet" about something he did not like?...Hello!!!

    To say I am angry is an understatement -- I will never set foot in a PetSmart again and will go as far as not renewing my Banfields account when it needs renewing. I will be using a competitor across the road from this store who from reading their reviews are much better, more economical and from what I can gather better trained. PetSmart Groomers, you should be ashamed -- DO NOT USE THIS GROOMING SALON. I never write reviews but feel compelled to do so on this occasion!

    I took my father's dog for a bath on Jan 10, 2015. He was staying with me for a couple of weeks. He was absolutely fine when he got there. I picked him about 2 and a half hours later. He was coughing like a seal, disoriented and not himself. I just wanted to get him out of there! I took him home. He was coughing and groaning. I called Petsmart back and asked them what happened. They said he was coughing from the time they took him out of the kennel. They thought it was normal. Unconscionable! He has gone there for years.

    I took him to the emergency vet at 1 am. $775.00 later and a visit to his regular vet... nothing from Petsmart. They told me when I initially called, they would reimburse me for the $125 ER visit. He is okay now no thanks to them. I will never buy one thing again or take MY dog back again. We have been going for 11 years. Bad business and most of all caring about the animal, granted not on purpose, that they put in jeopardy.

    So I dropped my dog buddy off to get groomed for his appointment at 1:00 pm. To start, they only had him down for a bath when I talked to the lady a couple days back about giving him the full Dog Groom package (which no one knew about but is listed on their website). They all said that they were too busy to take him today and that no one would have time to give him a hair cut, nails, etc., due to a call out today. Finally one girl said she would do it that it just could take 4-6 hours. I didn't have a problem about the time cause I was going to be off for the day. 6:11 pm comes around and I get a phone call to come pick buddy up that he is ready. By time I get there, it's 6:40 pm. And the store has been closed since 5:00 pm but there are still workers inside.

    A groomer comes out to leave and I asked her if I could pick my dog up and her reply was "We closed at 5 and I called you a couple times to get your dog." Well I only received one phone call at 6:11. Finally two managers or supervisors come out and tell me they will not be giving me my dog and that I will have to pay an overnight fee for being late. Meanwhile, I wasn't informed to get my dog until after they closed. Also they said it's their policy and that no registers were open at the time which they should of known that registers weren't going to be open after closing hours but still got a phone call after closing hours to pick my dog up. I explained the situation to the both of them and that I wasn't leaving till I got my dog. They continued to tell me that I can't have my dog till the next day until one said let me call the manager and see what he says.

    Finally they came back out and brought my dog out and said I can come back and pay tomorrow. I have been a PetSmart customer for over 10 years. For your company to sit there and tell me that I will not be getting my dog back while you have employees still at work is just plain evil. I will be in tomorrow to talk to a manager but this will be mentioned to everyone that I know and to my family and friends that use PetSmart now. This was at the Delray Beach location on Linton. To top it all off, his back nails weren't clipped and his ears and tail weren't trimmed. I will not be returning as a customer.

    Return policy is supposed to be "Hassle Free". When I wanted to return two items they refused. Twice. The second time the manager threatened to call the police on me for yelling at her. I never yelled. Only spoke in a conversational tone. Their policy guarantees returns without a receipt. The Buford Georgia store refused to honor it.

    I have never only once had a problem with petsmart groomers. The way to avoid a problem - stick to the same groomer and be specific on what your pets needs are. Some pets are abused before ever coming to groomers so you can't blame the groomer if you aren't specific about what you want.

    I went into a PetSmart store at 4465 Bryant Irving Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76132 telephone 817-377-1889 store number 1966. I went in with a paid receipt from California which my son purchased items while in town because he travels the rodeo circuit and bought several things not knowing if he would need these items or not. They reassured him that if he did not need these items it would not be a problem returning them. I live in Fort Worth Texas and try to return them to the store located at 4465 Bryant Irving Rd. store manager **, and he was extremely rude and refused to take back the merchandise which he inspected. Took my driver's license and said he could not validate the receipt out of California.

    I got off work went into the store took three buggy sent that it was not that it was a lot of inventory but it was bulky inventory which was hard for me and I did it as a favor for my son who does TV work. I am disappointed in how I was treated and hope that I get the message out there that people cannot do this. If they advertise they will take back no hassle refund policy and that should be upheld. I did contact the customer service department and I'm hoping to receive an email or phone call tomorrow if not I am contacting the corporate office to inform them their policies are not being upheld. Very disappointed and upset over this whole embarrassing upsetting matter.

    Fredericksburg, VA - I took my recently rescued bulldog in for bath & nail trim. They were SO RUDE!!! I understand they need proof of vaccinations, but do they need to be so rude? I showed them the vet's sheet which showed he was vaccinated a year ago for rabies. (Not due again for another year.) They claimed "We don't know how long the vaccine is good for." RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. They didn't even trim his nails, which was supposed to be done as it was included in the price.

    Took my King Charles Cav in for grooming 2/11/15. Indicated skirt needed trimming and rear private area due to urination catching skirt. Not regular groomer in and although groomer mentioned a number I reiterated it shouldn't be necessary as I just wanted her trimmed up. Groomer called when she was ready, indicted how he had to tell her over and over he was sorry as he pulled on mats. I had specifically told him not to hurt or pull on her and that she had 2 previous back leg surgeries and to be careful. He proceeded to tell me he was adding $14 more to the $48 fee for dematting.

    He was to call me 30 minutes before she was finished, but left before I got there to discover he had completely shaved down my gorgeous little girl. She now looks like a beagle (which are precious, but not my breed). We are expecting another freeze and here she is basically bald. I had pics taken approx. 4-5 days prior to grooming w/her beautiful hair. I spoke w/the manager who over and over indicated he 'didn't understand' and that 'you're upset'. I showed him the before pics and let him know of course I didn't understand. He wanted to give me a full refund and I kept telling him it wasn't about the money, but the fact I don't know what happened to her and the years it will take to have her hair grow out properly. He kept on insisting on giving me something and I told him not to charge the $14 for dematting. If the guy shaved the dog, dematting would have been unnecessary and I resented if my dog was hurt in that process.

    I sent corporate an email and they indicated it would be 5-6 days before they could get back w/ me on this issue. I have used Petsmart for years, buying products, using the Banfield Wellness plan, etc. As a very loyal customer, I am so upset about how this is being handled. I did try to talk to the groomer today and he refused to talk w/me. The grooming manager wanted to put the blame on me as a communication breakdown and until I kept pointing it out didn't even express they were sorry this happened to my pet. I think shaving must be faster than scissor clipping and if they are so overworked and miserable about the job, the conditions, etc. possibly they should not be in the fur baby business.

    My pets are my children. I want their experience to be positive. This particular location is at Lakeline Mall in Cedar Park, Tx. They do have a wonderful bather named Denise who only works on Fridays and Saturdays now. When you enter, she knows you, your pets' names and begins the experience loving on your babies. The team could learn so much from her--she is a real asset. I believe in any challenge there is an opportunity. I hope management, corporate and myself can take this to a better place as a learning experience for us all to make this a better situation. This isn't the way to run a business, and create a positive experience for the customer and their babies.

    We had bought a leopard gecko and it was sick from time we bought her. She died just 2 1/2 months later. It was very sad. We know it wasn't how she was at our house because we have housed lizards for a while. We just bought a yellow throat plated lizard. The woman explained all it needed and how long it would live and the care for it. She was completely wrong on everything. Cage size, temp, humidity and years it would live. They don't need to suggest anything when they don't have the knowledge of the animal that's needed. PETSMART #0418.

    PetSmart at Happy Valley, Peoria, AZ: Well, PetSmart doesn't have to worry about me shopping there ever again from now on. Here's the story in a nutshell: I was bringing some Hill's Science Diet canned cat food back, because my cats just don't like the taste.

    Go in at 11:30 am today 2/12/15, they call the Manager--some 5'11" (guessing at his height), young guy (30's) who hasn't shaved his bushy beard or cut his hair in 6 months, fat in a slobby way white guy comes over. He looks like he is unkempt, and I am frankly surprised PetSmart puts someone like that in a position as Manager...but I don't work there nor own any of their stock so could care less. I just want a return credit. Anyway, Mr. Manager asks me if I bought it all at one time.

    OK...here is where the story just gets stupid, cause the cans are all the same, in the original 24 pack box all wrapped with the plastic they put around it opened only on the top to allow getting about 1-1/2 cans out (if you can imagine how big that hole is). Taken aback I said to him tongue in cheek (cause it was getting humorous to me at this point), "Uh...isn't that indicative?" while pointing to the boxed canned kinda smiling (I mean, it was obvious to me that only the plastic at the top had broken into that flat of canned cat food). Upon which his response to me was, "Well, you don't have to be rude, and if you want me to take these back you better be a little nicer to me."

    You know, I am older and have been in many situations taking things back when it was absolutely necessary, and not once has anyone ever responded like that that I ever remember. Is he touchy? Or is he just a smartass fat guy who thinks he has a little power now? Or is he just burnt out on working there? Who knows?

    Anyway, I told him to just give me my things back and I would donate it... and walked out...never to return to PetSmart again. What can I say other than I felt he has a lot to learn and was ridiculous in his actions and certainly nobody I ever want to deal with again. Maybe if Mr. Manager got a new haircut and a shave he would be in a more friendly customer service mood...ya think?

    The PetSmart at North Bergen, NJ (store# 1828) runs poorly! Few times I've been there, and they are always out of products! They keep a very poor inventory! For the past 2 months they have empty shelves for fresh food and some treats! The manager's excuse is that people buy it so fast! And for a fact I know that is a lie! Management is not all about greeting customers by the door. It is also about keeping a great inventory and having a pleasant personality, so when a customer complains, she/he is able to satisfy the customer with a comforting answer!

    The manager at this location (Liz) was very nasty, and full of attitude! She actually told me in front of a cashier that she'll be very happy if I don't come back here again! The cashier was shocked when she said that! How a person like that can become a manager at a big store like PetSmart is beyond my belief! I shop at PetSmart all around the country. I never been to a store as disorganized, nasty, and poor like this! There are other pet stores few miles around this store! I will never go back to this PetSmart again! I will spend my $200 dollars every two weeks shopping at the competition store around them! Very Bad management!!!

    I took my dog to PetSmart for a bath. As I watched through the window I witnessed my 7 year old, 50 lb labrador fall off the grooming table and hang by the loop around her neck. The employee grumpily hoisted her back onto the table. After the employee realized I was watching she changed her demeanor. When I went back in and asked about the safety of my dog on the tables, she said fidgety dogs sometimes fall off the tables. My dog was nervous, but she was barely moving around and slid backward off the table. She wasn't jumping or acting crazy. If she can't be kept safely on the table, many dogs are in danger of serious injury. So unless you agree with this employee that it is unavoidable for dogs to be occasionally hanged or strangled while being groomed, go somewhere else.

    My dog was brought to the Pet Hotel this past Friday to stay while we were gone for the weekend. When we picked her up Sunday night, she had a severe limp. No one on duty at the Hotel could explain what happened to her, only that when the limp was noticed she was removed from Day Camp and returned to the Hotel. We were not notified prior to our picking her up of any injury.

    I called the Pet Hotel on Monday, and explained the situation. We agreed I would take Heidi to the Banfield location in the same store today. However, after examining Heidi, my wife was informed that we would be required to pay for her x-rays and any further care. Considering the fact that the injury took place while in the care of the Hotel, and that we have no way of knowing if Heidi was left unattended or abused by one of the staff members, it is rather obvious that the Pet Hotel needs to assume all of the costs for Heidi's diagnosis and treatment resulting from her Pet Hotel stay. They flatly refused, legal action pending...

    I'm very disappointed with the service as well the consumer service store number 349 Coral Springs FL. When you take your dog to a company as big as the PetSmart you expect a better management with knowledge about the service. Well I took my dog back after 6 days to complain that the next day after the bath she had and still has dandruff all over her coat. I wait for 6 days to take her back and my dog looks worse than ever and I explained to the store manager Arturo, his name. And I told that the right thing to do was to offer me to bath my dog again for free. He told me that he couldn't do it, gave me tons of excuses and he offer me to next time that I bring my dog to get the regular bath they would upgrade to a medicated shampoo. Even after I explained to him that my dog didn't have any dandruff prior to that he tried to convince me that is normal. PetSmart just lost a regular client. $52 paid on the trash.

    PetSmart charged me for a 10 gallon tank and fish. And it turns out the tank -- it's not even a full, 6 gallons -- and the fish are really hungry and sick. My friends also had this experience with PetSmart where she got told her fish were friendly, and they ate 7 of her other fish, and they gave her 2 sick dwarf frogs.

    Noticed a Chinchilla had chewed through a plastic wheel with a center spoke and being kept center of store. When I explained this to a staff member my concern, they stated, "It's not my department". Went and found the head of that department and she stated, "We haven't had any problems with them chewing on plastic." Explained the wheel is showing a big chunk missing. She said it was there before and again didn't have a problem with the Chinchilla being kept there. I'm obviously an owner of a chin and the manager showed no sign of concern or interest. She didn't even move.

    Never again will I groom my dog at PetSmart!! They obviously lie on the Pawgress reports that are given to you. They have not cut his nails (which they claim they did on the Pawgress report) and one grew and got embedded into the pad of my dog's paw. Woke up to a pool of blood and a crying dog. My dog, which has always been groomed at the Long Beach, CA salon, he was 3 when we started at PetSmart and is now 11. They used to have really good groomers there but now they have groomers that don't really care about the animal. My vet had to remove the nail from his pad. Shame on you PetSmart!!!!

Once you find someone that you like and go back they act as if they don't know who you are talking about. Look everybody here does not know how to groom a Yorkie.     Advertising walking but unwilling to groom a 9 lbs puppy after 5 pm. They close at 9 pm. Claims it takes 4 to 5 hours to wash and trim and dry. In 40 years of having a dog it has never taken more than 2 hours. Poor customer service in Tallahassee.

    I took my 3 pugs in for a grooming and received a call that one of them died. One girl had him in a head lock and the other continued to cut. Never watching for distress. My baby went limp and died. He just turned 8 and was in very good condition. My other two pugs watched. They are home and depressed with us. Heartbroken.     Honestly, the rating goes into the negative. I have been shopping for aquarium items at Petsmart for several months now as there are no other fish stores in my area, and going back and forth between the 2 Petsmarts in my area. There is a complete lack of consistency. This is where I got my aquarium starter kit which turned out to have a teeny crack in it which I didn't notice until months later. The closer store has friendly people but had me buy fish they said would get along and turned out from my lack of knowledge that they were all aggressive fish, ended up returning the dead ones. Since then I've learned to research what I want.

    The Petsmart further away didn't know anything about fish. I bought a few prepackaged plants that were infested with white worms which didn't show up until day 2. I had returned the plants and was asked 4 times if I was sure it was from the plants and yes I am sure, so now I have a 75 gallon (different tank) tank full of worms and have been directed to the limited section of medications that are overpriced, imo, and at my expense. I have called Friday mornings and have asked if this fish was delivered for their stock, they told me no.

    I stopped by that day anyway and there they were in the tank. I bought 2 females of this species. 2 weeks went by and no stock of that fish delivered which I had stopped in to check. This last Friday I had stopped by and there they were in the tank. I had asked for help, someone came over and fished out the one I pointed at as I explained I was looking for a male, this one turned out to be a female as I was walking to the register. I had gone back, told the fish person it was female and I need to keep looking, he rolled his eyes and gave a sigh, which I should have left then.

    After staring at the fish tank I pointed out they were all female and his response was, "Well yeah, we're a species specific store, all the birds, fish, and reptiles are all female." I had to point out that there were male and female tanks full of live bearers. For 4 weeks I have asked if they got the fish, with the same 2-3 people in that section knowing I'm looking for a male and they have all failed to mention they don't sell males because they don't want the fish mass producing. My disappointment and anger is directed at complete lack of knowledge of what these employees are selling.

    A lady was asking one of the employees how long she should cycle her tank, the answer given was 1 week and that itself is laughable without knowing water parameters which is a must for fish keeping. They can't tell me where the fish or live plants come from or any useful information that any fish keeper would like to know. I'm saying some, not all of Petsmart locations should be embarrassed for incompetence of knowing products and animals/fish they sell. I do understand it isn't a requirement to know everything of all the products in the store to get hired but that is no excuse for a pet store not even knowing basic knowledge.

    On October 18, 2014, we took our 4lb purebred Pomeranian in to our usual Kelowna PetSmart location. This time we had a different groomer. The groomer told us she had a lot of mats, so would need to be cut quite short. The picture provided is how 'short' they cut her! They shaved her bald, down to her skin! There was absolutely no reason for such drastic measures.

    Furthermore, that night and for 1.5 months afterward, our little girl whined, and cried and whimpered in agony. From the night we brought her home, she howled as if in absolute and udder pain. She hobbled around the house in what seemed to be pain coming from her hind legs and shook from being so cold. She had never been shaved before in her two years of life. After two days of listening to her cry all the time, and only stopping if we were holding her, we took her to the her usual Vet.

    The Vet said she had clearly hurt her back (right) knee and wondered if she had done anything to injure it. To our knowledge, she had not. But, we did mention she had been whimpering and howling since we brought her home from the groomers. The Vet suggested we buy her a sweater to keep her warm (we bought a few different ones, which she wore all the time, and it helped slightly, but did not stop the whimpering and whining, only the shaking). Two days later, the whining was getting worse or at the very least, not getting any better. We took her back to the Vet and took x-rays.

    After spending all day at the Vet getting tests done and x-rays etc, she was finally sent home with us, with some arthritis pain meds and we were told she had such severe patella problems in the right knee, she would need surgery ($1200 for one knee, and the other knee would eventually need it as well). The Vet was surprised at how bad her knees were, given her tender age and particularly since at her last Vet checkup, she was doing just fine with healthy bones and joints. The meds did absolutely nothing to stop the pain, the whimpering and the hobbling.

    We gave the meds a week to get in her system but there was no improvement. At this point, she seemed to be getting worse, so back to the Vet we went but were told unless she had the surgery, there was nothing much they could do. We could not afford the surgery and our Vet Clinic was 'unable' to provide a payment plan option. We called around to different vets but they were all around the same price to do the surgery. Our little girl deteriorated day-by-day and eventually the last Vet visit we made, the Vet made the suggestion that we should probably put her down.

    We lived with her non-stop howling and whimpering for over a month. Every day I'd come home at lunch to be with her and after work, the first thing I would do is pick her up and carry her around with me all night long until we went to bed. It was an inhumane thing to keep her alive in that state and we were out of options because even if we gathered enough money for the surgery for one knee, she would eventually need the other one done. And her arthritis was getting the better of her, the Vet said.

    She started developing a poo-poo problem after the Groomer's experience as well. She was unable to poop comfortably, it was a hassle every time she had to go. She screamed in agony and yet the Vet could not find the problem. Throughout all that, we made the ungodly decision to have her put to rest. It was an agonizing decision, and not one we took lightly.

    I live with guilt every day over that decision, but in my heart I know it was the only one to help her out of her misery. I wouldn't wish our nightmare on my worst enemy. It is a life-changing event that I will never forget and I truly blame the Groomer at PetSmart for the beginning of the fateful end of what happened to our precious little girl. I'm not saying she was entirely to blame, but I am saying she traumatized our little girl so badly that day, not only by shaving her bald and taking away her pride and her warmth (in the beginning of what is turning out to be a very cold winter) but how dare she make that judgment call without even calling us to warn us that's what she was going to do.

    She had our cell phone numbers, she could have called. In the daily report card, she stated our dog was very fussy that day, so she did the best she could. If our dog was so fussy, why didn't she just call us and tell us that, and we could have either tried on a different day or made some other type of arrangement. We suspect that due to our dog being "fussy", she likely forcibly sat her down on the grooming table to groom her, pushing on her back legs so hard that it injured her knee caps, causing them to fall out of joint.

    The Vet told us that after seeing the x-rays, she did see damage to her knees, and the kneecaps were floating from side to side, which they never did before. The Vet also told us it was quite unusual for this to be happening in what (used to be) a very active, healthy 2yr old pup. We are not filing any sort of suit, nor do we want retribution from telling our story. We just want our story to be heard and a forewarning to go out to anyone that has small dogs to be aware that as friendly as the staff are there... we do not feel that all the staff there are knowledgeable enough to know how to handle dogs of all sizes. It was definitely a lesson learned for us. One we will never make again.

    On 01/15/2015 took dog to petsmart groom in Fayetteville GA. When we picked up our pet the tech, said that he tried to bite. Our dog seemed strange the way he was acting. The next day 01/16/2015 we took him straight to our vet in Riverdale GA. He took blood work and said the dog may have swallowed too much water. We must go back to the vet on 01/19/2015. Our dog is still not well or improving. Cannot eat or drink. He walking along uncontrollable peeing. He gets sick as soon as we feed him anything. If my dog dies I will sue petsmart for everything I can. I now have two notable vets that are saying they had done something to our pet the way he is acting. I will never take any other of my pets there and I will advise others not to.

    Waxahachie, TX and several other PS's in the area. After more than 6 years of purchasing tropical fish supplies from them they suddenly stop stocking foods, supplies, and even the fish now look pathetic. What gives??? You come in and put so many mom and pop stores out of business and then start failing to support the needs of those who need supplies? Sounds like Walmart. And furthermore, employees just saying, "It's what we have. You'll have to buy new filters." Hell I built a custom filter for my tank. Guess I'll have to mail order what I need from a real tropical/marine fish supplier. I really do prefer to do local business but I will never be back there for my pets’ supplies.

    Sherman, Tx Store - I paid for a small grooming package for my dog Lexi, not all services that I paid for were rendered. When I called back in to speak with a Grooming Manager REBECCA, she informed me that I didn’t pay for the Package I requested for my dog. (1) Don’t give me a package I didn’t ask for, and (2) don’t charge me for one that I never received - CORRECT the PRICE.. When I asked her what would be done to keep my service, she laughed and let me know I had “TOUGH LUCK” with getting her to correct the issue or refund for the services that were not rendered.     I just brought an guinea pig . The animal was sick when I brought him and I was not told about it until the animal started breathing rapidly and I rushed him to a vet. If I didn’t he would have died. So how could I have brought him back to the store. All I want is for half of store, I purchased him on 12/15/14. He went to the vet on 30th of month.     I adopted a 5-month-old kitten from Gilbert, AZ PetSmart location in Sept, 2014 only to find that he was infected with ringworm and an upper respiratory infection. His adopted name was CoCo. From the time he was brought home, he passed ringworm onto me and an upper respiratory infection to my other kitty who is still battling the illness after visiting an animal hospital and 2 visits to a local vet clinic. He has been treated with antibiotics and eye drips for an eye infection. Then CoCo has been treated twice since adoption and also still has symptoms after being treated with antibiotics. Ringworm symptoms have been resolved for myself and my CoCo. I have spent over $1,500 in unnecessary vet and doctor bills and am very frustrated with no resolution to date. I let Osana Animal Rescue and PetSmart know of my frustrations. I was also told by a PetSmart clerk that they no longer use Osana for cat adoptions due to many complaints of sick adopted cats. So I'm writing for advisement and restitution for the anguish to myself and my 2 kitties as well as the major expense this has caused. I have copies of all vet bills. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    I called for a appt. for our 14-yr. old Bichon. Gave exact instructions not to trim his ears or clean them or trim his nails & foot pads as I had already done that. He gets anxious with those areas. I went to another store to wait for his grooming to be finished & 15 minutes later, they call me to pick him up saying he had an anxiety attack, was foaming at the mouth & his tongue was hanging out cause they think he bit himself & peed all over. Come and get him now as they were stopping the grooming, wrapped him up wet in a towel and told me to take him home, wet & all. WHAT??? I went & got him, he was traumatized, shaking, wet - he was a mess!!!

    My dog is the sweetest dog, not a nervous or traumatized kind at all. I think they threw him in the sink & immediately sprayed water on the face, ears & head & he could not breathe, especially if they muzzled him. He is 14 for gods sake, use some TLC & kindness. I will never go back to even buy anything at this store. Beware of your dogs folks, as while we were checking our dog in, a big dog they were grinding his nails on, fell off the table & she pulled him back up by the collar & hurt its neck. I let out a remark how that must of hurt. They ignored me. BEWARE!!!! Unprofessional & inept groomers.

    I have a toy poodle (Rosey) who has to have a lot of grooming maintenance done and I have been going to 2 different PetSmart's for a year now. The PetSmart in Chelmsford MA is wonderful and I have no complaints about my dog's grooming. The Nashua store on Daniel Webster is another story. It is always chaotic in there between the groomers not knowing what they’re doing or who has which animal at what time and to top it off not even getting the very expensive job done that is requested.

    I recently brought my dog in here 12/20/14 hesitantly because the last time I brought her the staff was just clueless but all in all she was well groomed, this time around I don't even believe they groomed her or bathed her. When I picked up my dog I was told that the original person who was supposed to be grooming my dog was too busy and she was given to ** to groom in, which she did not. When I picked up my dog this ** had already left so I was unable to ask her anything. On top of that I was overcharged. I wanted the trim package eyes, butt and feet. I was charged for a full groom and nail trim. I didn't even realize it until I had already left because I was so angry. I will not be returning to this location. I am very upset.

    If you leave your pets at the Pets Hotel and you would like to use your own food, I would suggest you to measure it yourself and put it in several bags for each feeding. I used to work there and our employees were very good to the pets. BUT not all employees care about their job. I worked the night shift on the weekend, many times I see bowl or bowls sitting on the kitchen table from the evening feeding. I asked the manager the next morning about the empty CLEAN bowl left on the kitchen table. I found out if the employee or employees couldn't found the food; they would just leave the bowl on the table. They were too lazy to ask the manager to look for the food or call the owners. The reason I said to measure the food and put it in a bag because 2x I found a lot of hairs mixed in with the food. The employee dropped the food on the floor and "sweep" put the food back in the bag. After I left the job, I was told the employees didn't feed this poor dog for three days. They couldn't find his food because they left the food in the manager office. It just break my heart to hear that.

    Went to the PetSmart in Dover, DE today... Was absolutely disgusted. Not only were half (and I literally mean half) of the dogs in cages with feces, but I also watched an adoption center employee move a senior dog into an excrement-filled shower stall and leave her there. There were two separate poops in there and a puddle of pee. It's bad enough that these poor dogs don't have homes on Christmas Eve, but to sit in their own excrement? That's disgusting. I'm convinced that NONE of the dogs were walked because the lazy employees didn't want to go out in the rain! Poor excuses for employees!

    PETSMART Grooming twice verbal confirm they had correct equipment/experience. A tool does not cut dog nails, uses a powerful sanding wheel to trim/groom dog nail. Petsmart chose to Ignore instructions Not Cut Chihuahua's nails. Did not use desired tool. Used Potentially Harmful guillotine type clippers. Do not be deceived - Petsmart clear (plexiglass) Observation Area, that seems to claim they have nothing to hide! The only thing clear - Not Honest + Zero empathy for animals.

    Went to Fredericksburg, VA store on Xmas Eve w/ 8-yr-old son to buy long awaited guinea pig pet. Salesperson had told us that the smallest cage they had for guinea pigs was $50. Found 2 cages rated for guinea pigs for $42 & $36. When my son had picked out his pig, we hunted down salesperson Carol, telling we were ready to buy him (her?) & the $36 cage. She told us again that smallest 'acceptable' cage was $50. I pointed out the clearly labeled lower priced ones. She insisted that I & their suppliers (who market the cages for GPs) were just so wrong. I showed her that the item I wanted had 'guinea pig' in writing and pictured on the box. I then asked if she was refusing to sell me these items and indeed she refused.

    I asked to see the Manager. The manager backed up the salesperson's refusal. She could not explain why Petsmart had products for sale that were meant for GPs, next to the guinea pigs, that they refused to sell. Also no reason as to how having 60-square inches less space would harm our pet. While PetSmart employees feel it is their job to pick and choose who is worthy of doing business with them, I was raised to think it was the other way around. As I walked out telling them PetSmart had lost my business forever, they were clearly pleased that they had prevailed. BTW, my son cried all the way home.

    A few days ago I took my dog in for emergency care with a laceration on his paw. He was bleeding very badly and was dripping blood all over the floor. The nurse provided me one towel to help keep the blood at bay, put me in a room and left me there for half an hour before coming in to see him. She left to "write up a care plan and estimate" after another 15 minutes she returned and advised me of the plan and the cost. I noticed that the wrong weight was on the estimate (45lbs as opposed to his true weight of 66 lbs). When I brought this to her attention she let out a sigh of exasperation and said she'd need to redo the estimate. It was going to cost 574.00. Expensive, but a needed treatment. When we picked him up, he was all bandaged up and ready to go. Ok good!! I was told to bring him back in a few days so they could check his progress and change his bandaging.

    A few days later I returned to have this done. When I got there (the last visit of the day). I was told it would be another 65.00. I was surprised by this and told the Doctor, that I thought this was a follow up visit, and the response I got was that they were only charging me a 1/3 of what it would normally cost for a regular visit (WHAT??!?!). They took him back and I waited. A half hour later he came out with a new bandage, that's fine, but the doctor did not come out to advise me of how the wound was healing or when we needed to come back to have the stitches removed. The assistant checked me out, and I simply got a receipt for the payment. No summary of what was done, nothing. I have decided that this will be my last visit to Banfield and I am now looking for another vet for my pet.

    I used to work for Pets Smart in 2010. My first day in the groomers there was already problems. The people who worked there were not fully focused on the dogs at all, they were also back stabbing everyone's back, they only cared about the money, they would tell dogs to shut up. One time I got blamed for it when I told a girl that I was working with to shut up because she told a dog that. They have no patience, they are rude. I wasn't fully sure about the nail trims because I was afraid of clipping too small. I was always worried about accidentally hurting a dog, yes they have powder to stop the bleeding but I liked to take my time with the dogs so they can trust I would not hurt them. I can't even explain how many dogs were muzzled! It was absurd! They rush! They are rude.

    When I even had the flu I was out for a week because I was throwing up and couldn't stand without getting dizzy. They laid me off until a register position opened because I refused to go in and risk getting someone else sick or even hurting a dog because I was dizzy. They do not care for employees! 2 weeks later I was at the register no longer in the grooming department, I would call for back up no one would come. People would say they never heard, sometimes I never got a break because others would take 2-3 breaks, I would work 8 hr shift and not have much of a break, no food or water, nothing. I did complain about it but no one cared, I almost passed out in front of a customer! I would show up on time for work but still being new, my card never worked for me to punch in. I always had to wait for someone.

    I get a warning that they are going to fire me for being late, I told them what happened, how I always had to wait on a manager to punch me in. I got told I was lying, here's the thing you can't punch in before you are supposed to start, or one minute past . You need a manager to do it, so I would start. I let the manager know I was there but was not letting me punch in, again I got told I was late too many times and they wanted to fire me. I tried telling them everything thinking they forgot, they said ok take a month off come back in January. I quit as they were firing me because I was sick of the same thing all the time. I loved working with the animals not the people.

    I would highly recommend NOT purchasing at PetSmart unless you are 100% certain no harm can come to your pet by using whatever product you buy. Because if something happens, you can guarantee that they will never resolve the issue!

    In the summer of this year I bought bedding for my animals, which was apparently carrying mites, causing illness. After emergency vet visit, medication for treatment, and a lot of time and efforts, I still lost one of my babies due to severe and sudden onset. I opened a complaint and then escalated that after he died. It has been almost 4 months since this all started. I was repeatedly promised I would be called back and the issue would be resolved. Since shortly after his death and sending in all of my papers on the issue, I have received NO communications. I call, and call, and call again and I never get anything back. They are essentially ignoring me and the trauma they have caused, most likely in the hope that I will go away. I am now having to consider legal aid because they refuse to contact me!

    They obviously do not care about your pets, or about the grief and suffering the loss of one causes to their owners. This has gone on for months and I can't move on from his death, having to constantly revisit it! I have lost my baby boy because of my trust in the company. I will never get to see him again because I chose to buy from this company instead of my regular pet store, Petco. The employees Petco helped me out so much while he was sick and tried so hard to make sure I got all the items I needed as I tried to get him to recover. I hope nobody else who has purchased something from these people has to suffer through the loss of their companions!

    I have always enjoyed going to Petsmart for the friendly staff and rather large variety. However, I was in for a toe nail clipping and will never be returning. Honestly I was warned by several people not to go to the store in Peterborough on Lansdowne and Monaghan but I really like the staff I have met so far. On my first and ONLY visit in the grooming department I was met with a "whatever" kind of attitude, too good for me. Eyes rolled when I only wanted a clipping not a grinding as well. I was then looked at like a liar when verifying my dog's records. But it was her work in particular that offended me. She started very calm and gentle with my 2 lb dog but soon just started clipping without a care. Once she missed and then proceeded to go at it again with frustration and you could see the stress in my dog's eyes.

    After I had her back in my hands I noticed that one side was clearly longer and barely clipped. If she thinks that this is the way to get repeat customers and happy owners she deserves to have a bad review. Sneaky greedy girl! I'm sorry my dog is 2 lbs and calm as anything, there was no reason to be frustrated or too big to manage. It is incompetence! Maybe a bad day but those are the worst staff to have when working with defenseless animals that can't later tell their owners what was done to them. Luckily I was there but all trust is lost and will be told to whomever I know has a pet.

    POTENTIAL NEGLIGENCE AT PETSMART COMMACK NY - My dog Sachi, a pure-bred Akita, sustained an impairment to her leg while staying at the PetHotel there and the staff failed to address the problem with the dog. They failed to contact me to report the problem with her leg. I could have authorized an exam with the on-site vet. They failed to inform the vet at the facility of the problem, despite the fact that I have used their vet for the dog's care previously, so the dog could have had medical care. When attempting to remove the dog from her cage, the staff tried to pull the dog up from the floor by her collar, unsuccessfully. When they could not get her to stand up on her own, as I watched from the window, they finally lifted her body to stand. I questioned what happened to the dog's leg. The staff said "She's old."

    The dog had no obvious impairment when we dropped her off for her stay and a bath. When I asked for the store manager, they told me there was no manager in that day, yet the manager Dominick ** was found minutes later upon my demand for a manager. They were decidedly unprofessional and likely have contributed to the problem my dog sustained while boarding at the facility. The dog is now significantly impaired, and I must pay for veterinary care.

    The New Office Manager not much very helpful for explain. I'm asking for more hours and shift, the more annoying part is they keep hiring more people even their few co-ops worker want more hrs. So like this Manager not really thinking straight and can't come up to see those co-op worker who need more hrs to work and just random hire more people. Like seriously really, they never think how much co-op worker really need hrs. But even so like me this week I getting less and less of shift compare to last week. I got like 4-5 days a work as a Part-time like almost minimum 20 or 23 hrs, but this is really freaking me out for next week and the next week come before that the worse part, I ONLY got 1 shift in a week from Dec. 8 to Dec. 14, just 1 day of work like wow. I'm thinking this Manager whoever schedule me just giving me so less hrs and just 1 shift seem like this Manager really want me to quit so bad. So much being care about co-op worker or have any problem about me. Even I didn't take no Vacation & no time-off, and this is the way how this Manager treating me like this!

    If Manager got a problem about how I do or there’s something wrong at least call me into the office and say it to my face instead of seeking behind my back and giving this 1 day of shift in a week. Don't think I can earn enough money to buy my Xmas shopping etc if this keep on doing to me. The Store manager didn't help at all, keep saying “Ask the (the one who making schedule the Off-Manager).” So like forget that. So in meantime this is really VERY Furious to seeing what was my next shift and this is my ONLY job. I don't have 2nd job or no school, and I still living w/ my parent w/ my pet (Cat & a fish) and I have so many things need to pay. Besides, my parent isn't paying my rent. I have to pay it and this is my problem now. How I getting so less shift? And this is what PetSmart giving me this Poor shift and hrs. This isn't much fun to work and enjoy working here anymore the way how things they treating me.

    The Office Manager say to me about got a feedback from a Pet Care Lead saying I don't feed the snake. Well here the problem that I always don't feel comfortable feeding the snake and I already told my other Manager about this and one thing I can't past over to the next person who coming in cause there wasn't any come in till like another 1 hrs (next co-op worker). So I told the manager etc, and this isn't part of P & P feeding the snake in the morning. The snake suppose to be feed at night not during in the morning. In the Pet Smart where I located this Pet Care Lead doesn't follow the P.P.E and she doesn't listen so it's hard to chat w/ her. Every time during morning opening the Pet Care Lead didn't wear P.P.E equipment (Gown, Goggles, Masked, Gloves) nothing of those as suppose to be Pet Care need to follow.

    Even she/he is Pet Care Lead I don't complain, why she/he didn't get to follow. So this PetSmart pretty much is a mess, closing the store nobody facing and help out the pet product to make things easy to shock all the empty hole or manager to shoot the hole. And I sometimes do found items is already stolen, people pulling down Pet perks off, don't peel the whole tag and leave the old tag, replace it over so making the shelf full of sticker of price tag piling up like nobody is following how they suppose to do the right way (I never complain that even I did, they won't listen cause they think this isn't important at all).

    My dog went to dog day camp at the Tukwila, WA store for over a year. I would often get register receipts after payment with a Hotel Online Survey ~ I would take the survey online and receive $3 off my next visit. I would use several of those at a time sometimes to be able to afford day camp for my dog. Sometimes I would get free visit coupons emailed to me due to being a frequent customer of the day camp. I received several emailed coupons that didn't scan at the register, and I received a free visit coupon in the mail that wouldn't scan at the register. There were two people, both identified themselves as "manager" to me, both immature and completely inept at customer service and their jobs: Crystal (SO beyond RUDE) and Megan (too socially immature to manage anything in a public setting).

    Crystal read me the riot act on the phone, recently accusing me of double using coupons to get extra discounts, basically calling me a liar when I said I had never done that. I would NEVER do that. The next time I came in the store she interrupted a conversation I was having to someone else dropping off my dog and I told her I didn't want to talk to her, that her accusations got me too upset on the phone. The next thing I know, Megan and Crystal are making up lies about me and when I complained to the District Manager, he was told all kinds of ridiculous nonsense about me that wasn't true at all. I was "acting up" in line? Raised my voice to an employee? They had some type of a "statement" from another customer about me??? REALLY? What the hell?

    My complaint about being called a liar and being accused of something I didn't do, turned into a high school gossip session and a witch hunt, running me out of town. In this case, telling me "me and my dog are no longer welcome there". WOW. Way to go PetsMart customer service. All because of two completely unqualified little liars, I have had to find new arrangements for my dog farther from my work. I also had to find a new vet since I WILL not step foot in a PetsMart now and we were using the Banfield vet there.

    My dog has been going there to the hotel, day camp and vet, and I've been doing all of his shopping there, since he was a puppy. They have no problem AT ALL telling someone they are no longer welcome there. Everything they've said about me is a lie and I am furious. ZERO customer loyalty and I have NEVER been treated SO RUDELY in all my life. My dog and I are FAR better off away from that place. Crystal IS A LIAR and was ALWAYS rude to me. Megan is WAY TOO UNDER QUALIFIED for the job they've given her. The only thing those two are good for is HIGH SCHOOL GOSSIP, LYING AND CHASING CUSTOMERS AWAY.

    I supported Petsmart in Fredericton ever since they opened and refused to go to Pets Unlimited. I buy all my pets needs there and spend lots and lots of money in that store. I was in the store on Sunday 16th of Nov and I saw a sign that said spend 35.00 on Royal Canin and get a coupon for 5.00 off next purchase, and I bought 20.00 filters for my fish tank, and when I went through the cash they wouldn't give me a coupon for 5.00 off because I didn't spend 35.00 on the cat food, as the cat food alone came to 34.99 before taxes, 1 frigging penny and they wouldn't satisfy the customer over one penny. So I left the store and told them I wouldn't be back that I would support Pets Unlimited for now on... One of the workers there said if I was to buy one more thing that he would give me a coupon for 5.00 but he didn't care that I already bought 20.00 + on filters for my fish tank... I thought he was rather rude and didn't care that he was losing a good good customer... grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I don't have the receipt anymore to prove my word. I just wanted to say how I feel...

    Today, when picking my dogs up after grooming, I was informed that they would refuse grooming my dogs again. My dogs are 14 and a half years old and cannot always stand for a long time. The groomer inform me that because of that and because they were barking some after the grooming, they would not take my dogs for grooming in the future. I was shocked! How in the world can a company make a profit if they are refusing business with long term customers! I have never had a complaint from the groomers before. They have always told me that my dogs were sweet. This is the first time that I had ever heard anyone complain about my dogs. I am bummed!

    In addition to this experience I was up charged for both shampoo and conditioner by the amount of $7 per dog for the shampoo and the $7 per dog for the conditioner. How in the world can enough shampoo for one dog cost that much more for an upgrade on the variety of shampoo? I went to the shelves to price shampoos. The oatmeal shampoo that they talked about was about the same price as most other brands on the shelf. Most were around $8.50, containing enough shampoo to have bathed both of my dogs twice. They did have a really cheap brand that had oatmeal and it was about half the cost. So, I would have expected an upcharge possibly of $1 or 1 dollar and 50 cents knowing that they get quantity discounts for their business. However I have been gouged by this excessive over pricing. I will not go to PetSmart again for grooming. I may not even go to them for other products as well. This totally offended me and stressed me out.

    Bee Caves TX Petsmart - After having my yellow lab groomed at Petsmart for about 2 years, in addition to two other dogs, I was told not to bring him in any more for grooming because of his age and because he doesn't want to stand for a long time so it takes too long to groom him. They won't even grind his nails. There's nothing physically wrong with him and he's sweet as can be. I spend an enormous amount of money at this store but I can tell you I won't be shopping at ANY Petsmart any longer! They are nothing more than an assembly line! The one positive about the store is one particular groomer, Suni, she's fabulous!

    Petsmart @ East Brunswick, NJ - We are regular pet supply shopper at Petsmart for a long time. We purchased our pet Conure from them just a few months ago. Last night, this is the first time we got surprised how the cashier were so rude to us. We just got a 3 month old puppy and we went to buy tons of food and stuffs. There is one can of dog treat marked as Buy-One and Get One free on select items. So we went to pay at the cashier and asked for price check to make sure its the item that is part of the advised items...the cashier is in her stupid awful mood. You can tell how she hates her job and slamming every piece of the items into the shopping cart from her station. And does smile and no eye contact. As she just wanted us to get lost. I am not making up stories, you go and try it yourself. Purchasing pet supplies are not cheap and as a consumer, we expect some respect. We did not complain and we did not do anything wrong. BUT this is how the store treats you in return. After reading the other horrible stories about Petsmart, I am going to take our dog to other more reputable stores and grooming places. Not going to risk the untrained and rude behavior of the store staffs. Don't get regrets...take your business elsewhere.

    The Groomer shaved our poodles dew claw off while shaving and took him to Banfield Pet Hospital for emergency surgery. After hours of being in pain, the doctor call for permission to put him to sleep to remove the rest of his claw. The manager of Petsmart did not call us. After contacting PS, the manager later told us not to bring our dog back. We have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and couldn't believe they injured our dog then banned him for PS. I have contacted the Corporate office and have not received a call yet from Corporate. This is going on two weeks. We just can't believe what we have been through and to be treated so bad and disrespected. Our family is the one that has suffered.

    I have a registered Scottish Terrier that we have been growing a skirt out on for 6 years. For those of you that own Scotties you know how long that can take. My husband took Mac in, spoke to the groomer directly, asked her not to touch the skirt but tidy up the rest of the cut. She said "is a 7 okay," he said, "yes, if that's what you think his back needs." When he went back to pick Mac up, they had shaved him... Completely shaved his skirt off. My husband called me from the store and told me how horrible Mac looked. Keep in mind it's the beginning of winter here and he will freeze.

    I called Pet Smart immediately and ask why they would shave a Scottie. The manager said, "because it says right here that he had asked to use a 7 on the full coat." When I pushed her and told her he wouldn't asked for a 7 because he doesn't even know what a 7 is, she said, "let me talk to the groomer" and put me on hold. She came back to the phone and of course her story had changed. Now she was sitting at the desk when he spoke to the groomer and heard him say use a 7. I asked to speak to the store manager, she said he wasn't in. I said I would like to speak to the assistant manager and she said that wasn't possible. When I told her I need to talk to someone she said, "it won't help, all I can do for you is not charge you."

    I am contacting Corporate on Monday. The only thing I can think of is he wiggled or she mis-cut him and just went ahead and shaved him to cover up her mistake. Meanwhile 6 years of good grooming is down the tubes and my dog will freeze all winter. Just one last thought, why would anyone shave a Scottish Terrier to look like a bull dog. Also they left his tail long and fluffy, WTH???

    So I finally spoke to Petsmart Corporate who took my complaint about the Millers Road Scarsdale Arizona Petsmart. Petsmart allows the county animal care to put sick pets up for adoption within their store. My friend adopted a 7 month old dog who had distemper and this dog infected her dog and the neighbors dog. Petsmart said they have no responsibility, but I think a good class action lawsuit might bring them to their senses as today, I did some research and found that several other people were exposed. This could cause an epidemic. I am still collecting receipts for damages, but they will go to an attorney and not this site. These infected dogs are in Petsmart locations all over Arizona. Don't use petsmart for grooming, and don't take your dog there. These infected dogs leave saliva and urine in the petsmart stores. Very scary for a pet owner.

    We brought our Goldendoodle puppy in for grooming at the PetSmart in Maplewood MN. We had her in already 2 times for a puppy grooming. The person who did those 2 groomings said she was a good dog and she would like to work on her again. When making the appointment for today we didn't have the groomer's name but thought they would all be equally qualified. When we got there, there were many dogs and our dog got a little stressed. The groomer said she may have to call us if she felt our dog was too stressed.

    Well we got the call that they couldn't continue because she was way too stressed and wasn't cooperating. We found our dog in terrible shape. There were some areas shaved and others not. She is a mess. On the phone they said we could bring her back this Tuesday for a manager to complete. When we got to the store they said they would not complete her cut on Tuesday because she is just too stressed there.

    After not knowing what to do with a partially groomed dog, I looked online. I found one very near our home and explained the situation to her. I have an appointment to try and do something with the way our dog looks. The person I have scheduled with asked me who began the grooming. When I told her it was PetSmart, I then found out that the PetSmart groomers get very little training before they are on their own. I would never recommend this place for dog grooming. My dog looks pathetic. They should never have begun if they felt she was too stressed.

    Had my cocker in the hotel for the weekend and decided to try their grooming services. Someone from grooming services came over and I told them I wanted the short cocker cut. She asked what about 1/2 inch-no, I want it short. When I picked her up, not only was it medium length-the part on the back of the cocker that is shaved was crooked where it meets the side skirts. The right side was higher up on her back. It looked so stupid!

    My friend took my puppy to be groomed and to puppy day camp in the Iron Road store in Folsom, CA. She was told that my puppy had been banned from the grooming salon because I had complained too many times. My pup was groomed in May and August and there were no issues (she was not banned then). Furthermore, I was never informed of this situation and no one spoke to me about it. It was embarrassing for my friend and unacceptable to put her on the spot that way (they did not even bother to call me).

    Do we as consumer not have the right to express concerns when the work is not up to standards? Are companies not responsible to review their policies or offer higher quality costumer service? Do I, as a costumer not have the right to be informed ahead of time if I can't bring my puppy for services? No information was given when I made the appointment. I did walk out of the salon once, because they wanted to shave her and not spend time attempting to take a few knots out of her hair. The manager Barbie in a rude tone informed me that it was company policy and that they had to shave her hair. I took her some place else and the knots were easily removed.

    On another occasion, it took me three phone calls to get an appointment because the "call center" could not find my name. I had to spell the name multiple times and the operator told me that I must be calling the wrong place. Why should costumers be penalized for a disorganized and incompetent system. I guess I should have stopped going there some time ago. Lessons to be learned. I do hope that this will bring awareness as to how large corporations prefer to ban costumers than offer quality service.

    I have my dog on the Banfield Health insurance plan. I took my dog in for a routine yearly check-up and shots. She was in great health and they called me to pick her up. I was sick and had my husband go get her. She was brought out from the back in the nurse's arms. She handed her to my husband and said she was a little sore from the shots and to carry her. I myself would have not left the store since she HAS NEVER been sore from shots and has had these same ones for many years.

    When they get home and he puts her on the floor I discover she is not able to walk at all. Her back legs are wobbly and she is not even able to stand. I call Banfield and they are closed. I took her first thing the next morning and was furious. My dog went into the office fine and came out and could not walk. The doctor listened to me, went in the back and "had a talk with his team" and came out and told me she may have slipped on the exam table and put her back out of place. He told me she may need surgery that was upwards of 2500.00. He put her on medication to help her gain her balance and promptly got us out of the office.

    We came back the next day as she was not doing much better and he said to come back in a week. We went back and my dog was getting slightly better but not herself. The owner and original doctor was on vacation and the other doctor that saw her again said she had slipped on the table but did not need surgery and charged us and put her on more medication. He said to call corporate as he was not the owner and was not willing to listen to our story. We did call Banfield Corporate and they said this Banfield was a franchise and they were not able to help. The fact is they hurt my dog and could have killed her and they are not willing to do anything but lie about what happened. The customer service there is terrible.

    Please read this review! My wife took our Yorkie named Teddy to PetSmart this morning. We had an appointment with the groomer at 9:30 AM. When she got there everything was fine and she dropped him. She was supposed to pick him up at 1pm. When it was 12:45 she was on its way but she got a phone call from the groomer saloon and Rhiannon said that she was not able to work with The Teddy because he was really hyper.

    Teddy is eight months old. We love him with all our heart. All we do with him is play as much as we can. He loves toys and as a puppy he has a lot of energy. My wife then argue with her. He is a puppy and he is always hyper. If they cannot take puppies they should let people know. Rhiannon asked her to come back during the weekdays so they could use two person - one to hold and one to work with him. My wife said "no worries. I am on my way and I won't bring him over again. I'll take him to a different place." She said "I think it's a great idea - nobody here is willing to work with him."

    When my wife got at the store she was already in tears. Rhiannon refused to talk with her and another lady said that to bring Teddy during the weekdays because they were really busy. Today is a Sunday by the way, she charge her $35 for the bath. She got home, was already 1:30 PM. She called me and told me what happened. She mentioned that they did not give a bath to teddy but they did charge her. I called then and ask to speak with the store manager. A guy with the name Tom claim to be the manager and ask me what he could help. I told him what happened and he checked with the groomer and she did confirm that he did not had a bath. He offer our money back which we got it. After explaining him that situation he still think that they were right. He said that whatever happened happens every day with puppies. They have to turn them away if it is too much work. That was enough for me.

    Our Teddy it's an adorable dog. He is a family member for us, not only a dog. I was a PetSmart loyalty costumer from the day one that we got Teddy. We sign with Banfield Health care which was provided by PetSmart. We took him for the classes at PetSmart. We only bought his food at PetSmart. They really disappointed us. Teddy is acting weird since he got home. Please if you have a puppy, do not take to this store!!!

    I had purchased Advantage II from my vet previously, and it has always worked. I ran out and decided to go to PetSmart to purchase something there. I purchased the K9 Advantix II, it cost me $58. Before I used I did the same routine I had done before washing bedding, treat carpets and outdoors. I purchased on 9/16/2014. IT DOES NOT WORK!!! I called the store to tell them I was unhappy and they told me they do not do any returns on Flea products. $58 are you kidding me. I only used 1 and have the rest. I even noticed that when I treated my dog it did not seem like anything had come out. I went and got out of the trash and used again thinking I had not used it all. When I buy flea products at the vet it is usually all over his back, head and tail. You can even see where it is after I am finished. I guess with PetSmart it is buyer beware. I plan on calling the manufacturer and the corporate office.

    I have been complaining to the Petsmart Manager that I haven't been able to get the 24-lb bag of Simply Nourish Sweet Potato and Salmon (only sold by Petsmart). The manager located two bags for me at a store further south. She advised me she would go and pick the food up for me. I told her that I could not buy both bags that week, but that I would need a bag in a week and a half. She said that it wouldn't be a problem and that she would drive down to get the bags and leave the extra bag in her office for me in a week and a half. The assistant manager in the meantime sold the bag they were holding for me. So when I showed up to pick up the bag of dog food they fumbled for excuses. Then the store manager looked me in the eye and bold faced lied to me and said she never told me she would hold it for me. When I called her out on her lie she then said that she had it for over two weeks which is also a lie. Had I known she was going to sell the promised bag, would have used the last bag purchased from them to mix with another brand to change my dog's food over to something that is kept in stock.

    No one that works at the store or at the corporate office can tell me why the food has been having stock problems. The knowledge of the staff and store managers Jenny and Lana is completely incompetent and the lies are ridiculous! This food is a Petsmart only stock item and no one that works at the store has any knowledge of why it is never in stock. I feed my dog this food because she has severe food allergies. Simply Nourish is a limited ingredient dog food and we buy the one without chicken because of my dog's allergies. I'm stuck now without any food for my dog and so I have to buy something else to switch my dogs to, which will in turn cause a lot of stomach discomfort and probably severe vomiting because Petsmart has left me in the position where I have to abruptly switch their food over, instead of mixing it for a week or two first.

    Disgusted with the lack of knowledge and the lack of care given to me by Petsmart managers. At no time did the store manager Lana ever apologize to me, instead she treated me with complete disrespect by telling me she drove to the other store for me and I left the food there for over two weeks. I can look at my bank statement to prove it has only been 1 1/2 weeks. She obviously had another customer in her face about the lack of Simply Nourish supply and did what she needed to do for herself to diffuse another assumedly angry customer. If Petsmart has a supply and demand problems, then they need to be upfront with their customers so that our pets don't suffer. Shame on you Petsmart!!!!

    I have lived in the Myrtle Beach area for a year now. I take my dogs to the groomers about every 2-3 months. Every time I have taken them I have had a problem with them not getting the dogs' genital area clean. As well as one time, I picked my dog up and I didn't noticed until I got in the car that his face was bleeding because they shaved his nose where some tears had harden. The last time (which will be the last time) I forgot my new dog's rabies tag, so they told me that I could run home and get it really quick. I asked if that was all I needed and the girl said yes.

    So my bf sat with the animals until I came back and when I came back, they told me that my other dog's rabies had expired, and we had got both dogs vaccinated on the same day, but they didn't have the record. So before they could start on him, I had to go home a second time, to get his rabies info when I asked before I left to go get the other dog's rabies info if that was all I needed. While they were looking at their accounts. I will NOT go back. I found another groomer that I am happy with.

    I took my 4 month old shih tzu for a cut at Pinnacle Hills Petsmart in Rogers, AR. Upon picking her up at 9 a.m. she did not jump and wag her tail or even act the same. The huge girl that groomed her kept commenting on how tired my pup was. Upon getting her in my truck, Koda slept on the 45 min trip home and for a few more hours after getting home. After nibbling on her food she soon threw it up. This was at 1 p.m. After this Koda began losing muscle coordination and could not focus nor even keep her poor little head up. She soon got diarrhea as well. Petsmart groomer without a doubt gave my dog some type of sedative to calm her for her cut. I called 2 vets and their first response was she was given some type of sedative.

    My wife and I called and went back to the store. The manager did give us our money back. Considering the ** knocked my pup out you would think she could at least have trimmed her evenly. The response of groom staff was "this was her first big girl cut and she was probably traumatized". I call **. Koda had symptoms of drugging: cotton mouth, shaking, lethargy, no muscle coordination, could not focus. She is ok now. Mind you it took 12 ** hours for meds to run their course. DO NOT TRUST GROOMERS AT THIS LOCATION. They will take short cuts to make their job easier. I can not prove what that big girl has done to my pup... but I know my dog. And I know what she did.

    We had our Monty get groomed. I have been wondering how it was in the back with the kennels and how cool it was. It's bad enough we had to put Monty down lar nix collapsed due to heat and stress due to storms. So my advice would be find a groomer that does it in own home or groomer on wheels. You're doing better than I would losing your family member. They better hide. I would find them.

    People should be informed before using the Petsmart PetsHotel at 8695 South Park Meadows Center Drive, Littleton, Colorado 80124: We dropped our dog off on Friday night (8/29/14), booking his stay there until midday Monday (9/1/14). Since he's fed 1/2 of a cup in the morning and 1/2 of a cup at night, he would be dining on his meals while in boarding a total of six times or three cups worth (Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night, Sunday morning, Sunday night and Monday morning).

    I, personally, packed his plastic baggies of food. 8 of them with 1/2 a cup in each. His 6 meals with an extra day worth of food for a worst case scenario where a bag got accidentally spilled or poured in the wrong dog's bowl or for if we didn't make it by the end of business on Monday and had to board him an extra night. I also packed 4 baggies with treats in them. 3 bags, one for each night he was going to be there, with an extra "just in case" bag.

    When we arrived, we gave the person checking him in very clear feeding instructions: our dog was to get 1/2 a cup twice a day, once in the morning, once at night. We also let him know that we had measured out the contents of each bag. So, in what we thought was the easiest of feeding instructions, one bag in the morning, one at night. We also showed him the bags of treats and told him our dog should get the contents of one bag each night either with dinner or before bedtime, whichever they could do. Easy. All the Petsmart employees had to do was dump the contents of a bag into our dog's bowl in the morning. Do the same at night. And then feed him the contents of one of the treat bags at night.

    We picked our dog up on 9/1 as scheduled and were given the remainder of his food in the shopping bag they'd received it in. Which, of course, we expected. We EXPECTED two baggies of food and one baggie of treats. His extra just in case portions. The first thing I noticed was that all four (full) treat bags had been given back to us. Annoying, of course, because the employees didn't do what they said they were going to do and didn't follow the instructions they were given and had told us they'd follow. But not the end of the world.

    Then I noticed that there were four bags of food left. FOUR BAGS. If he had been fed according to our instructions, there should have only been a cup, or two bags, of food left. Do you see how I keep reiterating the amounts? That's because what I thought were idiot-proof instructions were obviously beyond these employees. I want to make sure they understand (if they read this) this time around.

    It was apparent that our dog had NOT been fed properly, especially since three of those four bags had more than half a cup in them. We later measured what was left and discovered that there were 2 1/2 cups of food left. We sent him with 4 cups. He should have been fed 3 of those 4. Since the employees at Petsmart seem to be incapable of simple math, I'll go ahead and do it for them: he was only fed 1 1/2 cups of food. Over the course of three days. Out of 3 cups. That's HALF of what he should have been fed.

    That's bad enough. Because our dog must have been starving. And, you know what? That pisses me off. That's negligent at best. At BEST. But when my husband went back in (I stayed in the car with our dog) to find out what happened he was first told, by Manager **, that our dog had been fed right. He asked how much our dog had been fed each time. ** couldn't give him a definite answer and just insisted our dog had been fed. Then she claimed that maybe the employees moved food around in the bags.

    Aside from the very common sense question of "Why would they do that when each bag was measured out?" there was also the glaring fact that there were 3/4 of a cup left in three of the four bags and 1/4 of a cup left in the fourth bag. It was pretty obvious, just from eyeballing it. The manager insisted that she trusts her employees and they did what they were supposed to. WHEN THEY FED OUR DOG ONLY HALF OF WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN. What they were supposed to do wouldn't have left us with 2 1/2 cups of dog food and four bags of treats. Try again. She had the absolute nerve to ask my husband what he "wanted her to do about it".

    First of all, we wanted you to feed our dog properly. That would have been a good start. But since that ship had sailed and you'd already screwed up (and still didn't want to admit to it) how about showing a little concern that whatever procedures you have in place for feeding dogs (and who knows what else... do you also screw up dogs' medications?) aren't working correctly. How about that? Especially since when we asked for details about how much our dog was fed each meal you couldn't even tell us that.

    So maybe some humility. Maybe a promise that you'd look into the policies to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else's dog. Did any of that occur to you? Or was your disinterest in the proper care of our dog indicative of your disinterest in the care of other people's dogs? Ultimately, we did get the cost of the stay refunded. Though, to be frank, I would have very much preferred to pay and have my dog properly fed.

    My husband told them he was going to contact corporate to let them know what had happened and find out about Petsmart's procedures. The woman he was dealing with? Told him that corporate would just send the complaint back to her and the Littleton store. Is that how Petsmart handles complaints from their customers? Redirecting the complaint back to the store that caused the problem to begin with? Is that how much you care about the consumers who keep you in business?

    I hope not. And I certainly hope that employees who can't feed the animals properly or who can't properly manage their employees or who just don't give a crap about the animals entrusted in their care are properly reprimanded. And then I'd hope that you review the policies you have in place for making sure the animals receive the correct food and treatment. I'd also hope that that's not too much to ask. Because if these are nationwide policies, the same thing that happened in Littleton could easily happen in any of the Petsmart PetsHotels across the country. Shame on your employees. Shame on their attitudes. Shame on their inability to follow simple instructions. The trust a pet owner needs to leave their pet in the care of someone else? You know that trust? Yeah, it's gone. At least as far as Petsmart is concerned. Absolutely disgusting and deplorable.

    Update as of 9/3/14: This was all bad enough. The Operations Manager, **, promised to "open an investigation." We got a call back on the situation and ** stated that the food was right, that my husband wasn't even in the store during check-in (a complete lie, he was standing a few feet away with our dog, and when he told the ** to check the cameras to confirm it, he got silence), and that I had agreed to the fact that the food wasn't measured and Petsmart was going to remeasure. My husband asked (again) for the paperwork and what it said because both of us saw the paperwork and all the things ** was claiming wasn't what it said at all. ** claimed that, because his employees told him that our dog was fed right that it was so. He even told my husband that he was sorry my husband "was confused." Confused? No, we know exactly what you did (or didn't do in this case).

    How DARE they say that I agreed that the food wasn't measured. I sent our dog with 8 baggies, each with half a cup in them. And I told them he gets one bag in the morning and one at night. Nowhere EVER was I told they were going to remeasure the food and I can't even fathom why they would when I told them it was already measured.

    Aside from the fact that ** claimed that our dog was fed half a cup twice a day on the word of his employees. Can any of these employees do math? Our dog was sent with 4 cups of food. He should have been fed 3 cups over the course of his stay (confirmed by the way, that's confirmed according to what ** is claiming: 6 meals x 1/2 a cup). Somehow, when the food was returned to us there were 2 1/2 cups left. Meaning our dog was fed 1 1/2 cups. These people can't even keep their stories straight. Initially I thought we were dealing with a bunch of incompetents. Now it turns out that they're also okay with lying.

    By the way, ** and **, since you claim that your employees are telling the truth, why were ALL the treats we sent our dog with returned to us? There were instructions to feed him one baggie of treats a night. So did your employees do that right too? Are you going to believe them if they say they did? Because that would be a blatant lie.

    Sep 2, 2014.. Beware of the price of the item vs what is rung up at register.. I went to the Petsmart in Tualatin, purchased 3 items.. Went to register to pay & my total was more than expected.. Before paying I told the cashier that that was incorrect so I ran back to the shelves to check sku # and price and had the cashier adjust. Cat Toy: charged 6.99 vs 4.79; self feeding fish food: charged 3.29 & 4.99 vs 2.89 & 2.89.. First total was 15.27, after I checked, shelf price new total 10.57.. I am glad I only had 3 items, I can't imagine if I had 10 or more.. It's important to be aware of what you expect to pay vs what is rung up.. Consumer beware

    I boarded my pets for 6 nights on the 22nd of August 2014 and for the second time in fourteen weeks my pet came back with stress colitis plus this time was so much worse. I had an additional vet cost of 1,000.00 cause of the severe infection my dog got at the lake grove location and they will not even take the time to call. They claim they are a reputable staff with a clean facility. They are not even reputable to watch a stuffed animal let alone a live one. This location should not have a hotel with irresponsible employees.

    I left my 2 years old Siberian Husky Molly at the Petsmart in 830 Pelham Parkway Pelham, New York 10803 while I went on vacation. If you have a dog that does not go to the bathroom in the house, this is not the dog hotel you want to leave your dog. My dog does not pee or poop in the house let alone in a cage "sweet". The staff members at this location are not passionate with dogs. They talk to the owners of the dog like they know more and you have no say. The second day of my vacation, I received a call from my sister reporting that Molly had a urine infection. This included Molly not being able to interact with other dogs due to this. When I picked up Molly, the staff member reported that Molly was aggressive, bit a staff member. She does not interact with other dogs without lashing out, has food aggression, and would not cooperate with directions.

    This is a kind and generous dog that is well trained. I live across a large park where Molly walks three times a day. She interacts with other dogs without "lashing out" in her home park and when I take her to dog parks around the city. She has been approached by individuals and family of children and adults on a daily basis where she sits and at times rolls on her back for people to pet and rub her belly. If you tell Molly no or other commands, she obeys. I scheduled Molly to be bathed on her last day. The staff reported that she did not want to leave the kennel and she was too aggressive therefore they could not give her a bath. I thought I left my dog with well-trained trainers/keepers. This Petsmart falls way behind with customer service and passion towards dogs. I left out of there feeling like I was taken for my money and my dog was treated like an object put away in solitary confinement for a week. I took her home and she drank a 1/2 bowl of water. She never has done that. Today three days later Molly is still fearful and is not as energetic like she used to be. I have a feeling that my dog was abused with no way to prove it. I do not recommend this Petsmart.

    On 7/26/14, I took my dog to be groomed at PetSmart, #1215, Roosevelt Blvd., Phila., PA. I have a maltese/poodle. I picked him up after being groomed, the groomer never cleaned his face. Under his eyes were as dark brown as when I brought him in. People commented to me why weren't his eyes cleaned. Also, when I brought him home, he started limping. You can also see where a chunk of hair on that leg is cut too short. He was definitely not limping before he was groomed. I thought maybe his nails were clipped too short.

    After a second week (still limping), I called PetSmart and told them the problem. I know the groomer was too rough with him. Here we go: PetSmart (**) said they would make an appointment for me at a Banfield Clinic, no charge to me. Well a week went by, no appointment, so of course I made one myself. I called PetSmart, told ** I made the appointment, but the clinic needed the verification from the store he was groomed at, they would pay for the appointment. ** said no problem, she would take care of it.

    Lo and behold, I get to Banfield and there's no information from **. They had to call PetSmart and get the information. The clinic was annoyed and it delayed my appointment. I explained to the Vet, my dog was not limping when I took him to be groomed, but now he is limping. The Vet said little dogs have floating patella and it just happened. I totally disagree. He was not limping before I took him there.

    The next week, I called Petsmart and spoke to **, to see how they were going to handle this. I also told her ** didn't follow through with what she said she would do. ** said, "Oh, ** made the appointment and sent the information to the clinic." It became a back and forth dispute. I told her I didn't agree with the Vet, I still believe the groomer was too rough with my dog. ** told me she would review the dog grooming video, discuss it with someone (I don't know who) and get back to me. Same scenario, she never called me back.

    Two weeks went by, I called her. She asked me if someone from the Safety Office called me, I said no. I asked her if I could see the video, she said no. Her only discussion regarding the video was, my dog was running all around and not limping when he left the store. I told her I was going to call corporate, her reply was, first, she isn't supposed to give that number out. Then she said it won't do any good for me to call because the complaint will only be passed back to her. In other words, it won't do me any good to call corporate. I told her I would find the number myself.

    This whole situation sounds like a huge cover-up to me. Now I am so upset and sick watching my dog limping all around. I have to get surgery for my dog and I don't have a few thousand dollars on hand. I would have rather she said she couldn't handle my dog, than to hurt him like this. I have told all my friends about this groomer and unfair treatment I have received from PetSmart. That store will lose a lot of business.

    My 8 year old grandson got a guinea pig for his birthday and he chose it because it was ginger and called it Gingerbread, that was a month ago. Today my son in law had to take it back to Petsmart in Concord because it's sick, my grandson went with him. Petsmart won't do anything because they give you 14 days to return it. My son in law asked to speak to the manager and all the manager did was keep pointing at the "no returns after 14 days" sign while my grandson sat there crying. There is an unaffiliated vet on the premises so my son in law took the Guinea pig to see if it could be saved. All the girl kept saying was sorry, even though it was nothing to do with her.

    The Guinea pig had to be put to sleep which should have cost $80, but the girl gave my son in law a discount coupon and so it cost $30. The Guinea pig cost $36, the cage and accessories cost about $100. It seems to me that that's a license to steal. The Concord manager was rude and unfeeling. When you're 8 years old you don't understand that something is sick, and was probably sick when it was bought, and therefore has to be put to sleep. The manager needs retraining in customer care... if in fact he was ever trained at all. I'll never got to any PetSmart again and I'll recommend to anyone l know not to go there either.

    Pets hotel Fruitville Pike Lancaster PA - I want to alert anyone that took their dog to the doggie hotel on July 20 thru the 22nd. My dog got kennel cough and my neighbor took her dog there every week too and her dog has kennel cough... Call them and they said that they had no issue even though my neighbor alerted them two weeks before my dog got it. Did anyone else's dog get it. Be on alert. Apparently no one cares... I had to spend 250 dollars at my vets for medication and if this don't work well who knows what next step will be.

    I've been a customer of PetSmart in Smyrna, GA since 2008. I groom my dog every 6-8 weeks spending 42-47 dollars each time. I was a dissatisfied customer three times during my business with them. I was told to find somewhere else to go by this man named JEFF. He stated he was the manager and that I've been dissatisfied one too many times. I explained to him that "I had an incident exactly a year ago prior to our conversation." I pulled my records and there was a dispute I had documented from a year ago stored on my iPhone. I asked to speak with someone over him. He refused for a moment. He then gave me a name of a manager. Her name Is Linda.

    Linda called and told me her staff was inexperienced and that I had to come in during morning hours to see one groomer, but the downfall was I needed to wait two weeks because she was going on vacation. I asked if she could refer me to someone else because my pet really needed grooming. She stated No. I call a nearby PetSmart. I got my pet and appointment right away. I told them about her saying I could only come to her experienced staff during certain days and hours. The staff stated this was not true. There should always be experienced staff. The next time my pet was groomed I took him back to Cumberland PetSmart no problems.

    I tried to scheduled a appointment about a week ago and was told my pet was due for shots before I could bring him in. I took him in for shots. I made an appointment to bring him back. They gave me an appointment time. When I arrived, the associate stated I was past due for shots, and she could not groom him. I stated I had the shots this week. I walked over to Banfield, retrieved the copy of his records and she took him in. I left and an hour later the manager named Linda called me and stated I needed to pick him up and try at a later date. She stated she spoke with me in the past and I could only use the one groomer. She stated there were no experienced techs available. I stated how important my time was - I had been working since 3 am. I just wanted my pet groomed, and how I did not have time for this again. My pet was there weeks ago. I had no problem and that I will be filing a complaint.

    I have filed this same complaint with no follow up from corporate. She stated no one will be grooming him and If I was not there at 9 pm they would call the pound. When I arrived at 901pm, the two groomers were leaving. My pet was barking and they were turning off their lights. One associate states, "Too Bad he's a barker!!" She is the same associate that told me Banfield had no records and the same one that refused to groom him. The story goes on but the bottom line is I have been treated unfair and so has my pet. I will not let this go.

    First off, I needed some more filters for my aquarium. So, I went to my local Petsmart which I had always loved because everyone was so nice and helpful. This, however, it was a little different. I wanted to get some fish, so I waited in line for a sales associate to get me the fish I liked. She first asked if I was 18, or if my sister was, which no one had ever asked me of this before. Anyway, she asked it in a very rude and grumpy tone. (If I would have been thinking quicker, I would have asked her if she was really working for PETA, but just disguised as a Petsmart worker.) I continued with the grouch, and told her which fish I wanted to get. She continued to be rude and took forever. I then wanted another kind of fish.

    Well, this time, I was smart enough to avoid the first lady I had and went to another one, but she was even ruder. She snapped back and pretended to be a know it all, and wouldn't let me get my fish!!! I was very disappointed, but she only hurt her own reputation and the stores sales. Because of these two incidents in one trip, I have decided to only shop at a different Petsmart, and if this kind of attitude persists in the stores, Petsmart will lose my business altogether. So, in the long run, don't go to this Petsmart in Lancaster, PA. Go to That Fish Place or a different Petsmart.

    I rescued 2 old sick small dogs who are not very mobile. I like to take them for "walks" in a stroller or in a cart if I go to PetSmart to make their life a little happier. For that I have special pillows. This morning I was met by a person who very persistently and loudly told me to put leashes on my dogs. But they are in the cart! I objected and proceeded to the prescription foods area. The man followed me insisting on the leashes. I asked him to give me a few minutes to pay for the flat with the K/P cans, (this time my dogs were trembling and I myself was shaken by this treatment). I told the man that I was a 30 year PetSmart veteran customer and this was the first time I was treated this way. Yes, he said, I am from another branch. Upon my request I found out that his name is Mike and he is a manager from Escondido branch. Well, Mike, a manager like that makes not only customers unhappy, but the whole store felt different today, and everybody in the store felt embarrassed for you. I wish you good luck.

    I went in the Salisbury, NC store on Friday to buy some things for my pet rabbit. I found a sign that said you can buy one bedding item for a small pet and then get another one free. I got 2 of them and took them to the checkout and told the lady at the checkout, but she acted like she did not know anything about it. She said she thought you had to buy 2 and get one free. I told her I would go look at it again and it was buy 1 and get 1 free, but she still did not believe me so she sent an associate back there to look at it with me and the associate even said it was buy 1 and get 1 free.

    Well that still was not enough she had to call the manager and I don't think he even knew. I was very upset about this and this has happened before in this store with me. I told them to just keep the bedding and I would go somewhere else. This was impossible. If a sign is put up with a sale you should be able to purchase it. I will never visit this store again. I don't want a call back either I just think they need better management or better communication about the sales... No one should have to be as upset as I was just trying to get an item that was suppose to be on sale.
