Our local store appears to have an inventory problem of some major brands wet cat food. Our local store offers only a limited variety of Sheba Perfect Portions, and what it does carry, it is hardly ever in stock when we go to the store, even on Thursday or Friday after it receives its weekly shipment from headquarters. Again, our local store offers only a limited variety of Meow Mix wet cat food, and what it does carry, it is hardly ever in stock when we go to the store, even on Thursday or Friday after it receives its weekly shipment from headquarters.

The store managers have told us repeatedly that they can request what we want, but they also tell us that there is no guarantee that they will receive it. And we did request what we wanted; and we never got what we wanted as the store managers warned. Out of frustration, I called customer service. And the CSR that I spoke to couldn't care less about my complaint. I will never shop at Petsmart again. I am tired of wasting time and gas going to their store.

I go into PetSmart today to buy a new harness because my dog has just broke his and I explain to the person there that I needed something to where he wouldn't chew on his harness or even mess with it and she shows me this spray and her words were "this spray will guarantee that he won't mess with it" and I'm like "okay cool! Great!" Then she shows me new harnesses and then explains to me that Kong was the most durable and he wouldn't be able to chew through it. Again, I'm like, okay cool! Great! So I buy both the spray and the harness she had shown me. I get home I spray the spray on the harness and put it on him. I lay down and about 20 minutes later I lean up to see that he has chew through this such "durable" harness with such "repelling" spray! No longer will I be shopping at a place that literally just had me sink in 60 dollars for them to last 20 minutes! Such great quality guys!

I've taken my dog multiple times to get groomed at PetSmart, without any issues. However... this time was different. Firstly, when I picked her up she seemed different, scared. She wasn't wagging her tail, trying to jump up in me at all. Then I noticed that her tail looked trimmed (I stated multiple times not to touch her tail) then I also noticed that multiple spots looked uneven. The lady said that she was "wiggly" however no other time has any groomer said that and she's been multiple times.

Then, her stomach had two spots were it looks like she got nicked or something. Her butt was bleeding as well. I know they do their anal glands, but blood. That's a first. Then to top it all off her vagina is red and swollen at the tip (She's not in heat). Upon getting home she still seemed a little off. My girlfriend's five year old went to pet her and she growled. I've had her since she was 6 wks old and she's a little over 5 and not one time has she ever growled. Something is very wrong with this. I made a complaint already, but guaranteed I will do something about this. More than a refund. I could care less about money. I just want to know what happened to my baby.

We often go to the PetSmart in Marlton, NJ because it's the closest pet store. I always spend between $80-$150. I went to the store and figured out the cashier charged me an extra bag of treats today, which was $9.99. I went back to the store with my 4 years old and saw there were a dozen customer waiting to check out. I turned to the PetSmart worker next to me who was sorting out shopping carts and told her I just need to have the over charge refunded to my account. This is the second time this happened. The worker just yelled to the cashier who made the mistake, in front of everyone, this customer said we overcharged her and needs a refund. The cashier dealed with the refund ahead of others and indicated she didn't charge for one of the cheaper bag of treats. She said "you'll get back $4" loudly.

I was very dissatisfied with the experience, not the amount. If I have to pay $3 more one time, and $4 next, then I rather go to a store who can charge me the exact price advertised. I also likes to use self check out because I don't want to deal with people's attitude. If they want to embarrass me or make customers feel uncomfortable, they accomplished it. I will NOT go to this Petsmart again. I believe this is one of the reasons retail store business is dying.

3 registers open, all had minimum of 4 people in line. Chose one and waited my turn. When I reached cashier I asked to purchase an identification charm to be engraved. Store Manager told me I had to stand in line 1 to purchase that. Line 1 had 8 people. Explained I had just stood in line and asked now I have to stand in line again? All he said was "sorry". When I asked why they don't have these charms at all the registers he said "because they told us to put them just on register 1." I have been a customer for 20+ years. I walked out and will not be returning. I believe the store manager should have let me purchase my item at his register instead of waiting for 8 more people. So not fair and such poor customer service. Plenty of other pet stores nearby that will get my regular business.

After 3 weeks, we took the dog to a vet and found it a home. She is now calling my daughter's school and my place of work saying she will call the police if we don't return the dog. She wants $100. I've already spent $128 in vet bills before finding it a home. Please be aware of this non-profit. She houses several dogs in a small townhome where there is insufficient space. I believe this may actually be a for profit organization and county compliance is being ignored. Like I said, we cared for the dog and found it a wonderful home. This repeated persecution by Miami Animal Rescue in a good Samaritan situation is uncalled for. Beware. Sign proper agreements. Do not go to her house!

Bought a 300W heater 2 Fridays ago online for in store pickup. It's $10 off online. Called customer service before placing order and was told it's usually ready in half hour to an hour and the store should send me a ready for pickup confirmation. I happily ordered and hours gone by no such email came so I called the store in Bridgewater NJ to check and the lady was rude and said it's just not ready if I didn't get no email and they are very busy. I ordered around noon so I decided to drive there around 6 to see if I get to pick it up only to find out they have orders in the system and the store manager Judy just realized and started looking into it because I came in. I picked it up without getting any paperworks. As soon as I read the description on the box I realized I needed a 200W heater and not the 300W. I then went online in the parking lot and bought the 200W instead.

Minutes later I checked with a worker who then checks with the manager and they wanted me to cancel the online order and they'll do the switch for me in the store. So I called their online number to cancel and couldn't. They said the order has gone through to the store side and only the store can cancel it. So in the store the manager was confused. She let them take back the 300W heater and gave me the 200W with no paper trails. She said she'll refund my 1st order. I trusted her and even gave her the online order number to write down. Days went by without any refund, I called customer service only to be told they can't do anything for me. I have to go see the store manager and the worse part is their return policy says no refunds because I paid with PayPal. Only store credit.

A week later on a Friday I went back to the store and Judy told me she refunded me that day and not sure what happened and she wanted me to contact PayPal. Do you see the problem with this company? At this point I told her I'd be ok to just get my heater back, get a store credit so I can buy some dog food. She said to give it another week. I mean what kind of company is this holding on to people's money like this. Essentially I'm out $26 and still waiting to see that refund on PayPal which I don't think I'll get.

A horrible experience with the grooming service. My full bred American Eskimo is so uneven, it is unbelievable. I could have done a better job myself and not have saved my dog from also being hurt! Then to be accused of bringing my dog in uneven by the so called manager and then the groomer telling me she did not do that. One of the managers told me never to come back into their store. Last night I noticed my dog was limping on his back leg. I will NEVER take my dog to the store again! I threw out my receipt in the store.

Before I left the actual store manager spoke with me to apologize however, that does not undo what they did and how I was treated as a good paying customer with three dogs. No there knows what an American Eskimo is supposed to look like after being groomed, then why did they not tell me that before they took my dog! My little Terrier mix, they charged me to brush her teeth and I found food in her teeth! These glorified franchise grooming services really need to better train their groomers on one how to care for an animal while in their care and to know how to groom a dog properly. Each dog is not the same and does not get shaped like a round ball. They should have books with professional pictures of all breeds of dogs so their groomers know what the dog should look like, to me that should be basics of grooming 101. I thought was is what the word grooming was intended for! This was the Mt. Laurel, NJ store.

He said yes. Today I went into the same store to either return or get store credit. The clerk asked the manager because the receipt was old. She said no. Ok fair enough. When I asked for store credit, she said quite loudly, "It's not my problem!" Whoa. Horrible customer service or should I say none. I said I would not come back, she said "Fine". At that point I did call her a name which she replied "I'll call security." NEVER EXPECT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM PETSMART! I took my dog to the Burlington ON location, which looked more like a dog grooming factory with several dogs in one room being groomed all at once complete with a lot of noise. Upon picking up my dog, the groomer told me he was "difficult" (my dog is a 20 pound yorkie poo). I explained he was probably nervous with all the noise and several dogs all in one small space being groomed simultaneously. Instead of just calling me to pick him up, they charged me an extra handling fee because the groomer claimed she needed help to groom him. Then she informed me they would not be able to groom him again. I told her not to worry I would never give this company (for grooming or otherwise) my business again. I have never had any problems with my regular groomer (who was on vacation) so it was clearly her inexperience and ineptitude that caused such a terrible experience.

Got call from PetSmart employee asking if my dog had been dropped or fell down stairs etc lately. I said no. She said she had red mark on head and she has a red eye but had vet look at her says she is ok. I told her she has always had like a little pen mark of red in her eye since I bought her but vets said that was normal. So they said they finish grooming her and call me to pick her up later. I said ok. So when I showed up to pick her up she was shaking and afraid. She had red laceration to her head above her eye and her eye was all bloody red, no white at all in her eye. Someone hit my dog or dropped my dog most likely hit her...

Last time I brought her their lady said she didn't like to be groomed and it was hard but she is only a puppy she will get use to it and the last time they also nicked her throats area with the blade and I noticed it when I got home because they put a bandana on her. I didn't see it 'till I got home, took off bandana and saw the cut. Store manager tries to give me a discount on grooming. I was even more mad then he gave me grooming free no charge. I said I'm not worried about grooming. I'm worried about my dog so vets at PetSmart in house relooked at dog and said something hit her above eye on her head and caused her eye to turn bloody red but couldn't what hit her. They gave me drops to put in her eye and antibiotics to give her daily... Wtf is going on at PetSmart. This is no way to treat a dog.

But she cut me off and in front of other customers told me if I would be quiet she would tell me what to do. Once I was able to get her out of the car she would not want to go into the store so it was a struggle to get her to go. Over time she hated to go for a ride. One visit when she got home I noticed a cut on her paw which healed after a short time. I didn’t think anything of it until a later visit I received a call from PetSmart that my pet had a cut and they had no idea how it happened. That was the last and final time because I finally figured out why my pet hated PetSmart. They treat your pets badly. My pet is still scared of going for a ride but she is happy when she goes to her new groomer. Avoid PetSmart grooming at all cost, your pet will have issues after.

This was my first time using PetSmart grooming services so I was VERY CLEAR on what I wanted. She said she would have to shave in a couple of places, however when I picked her up she was completely shaved. This does not even look like my dog anymore and I am in tears over this. Her curly coat is something that essentially defined her look. Now it will take months to grow back, and I don't even know if it will grow back normal. Also, she is normally itchy after a groom but this is ridiculous, she has been itching the entire time since she's been home. I will never bring my dog here again or shop here, and will advise others against Petsmart as well. Obviously the groomer decided to put profit over my dog's needs and the customer's direction.

Don't let your children shop alone in the Princeton NJ, PETSMART!! My 14 year old son decided to get his younger brother a tropical fish tank 2 days before Christmas, so his mom left him alone in this PetSmart to make the purchases on his own. My son spent $283 dollars in cash for a 20 gallon fish tank, tank equipment, supplies and 18 tropical fish, all purchased at the same time. No one bothered to tell my son that he needed to set up the tank several days prior to buying the fish so that the water could be treated, filtered and set at the proper temperature with a heater. And with all the money spent he was not sold a tank heater or thermometer, no one at the store bothered to advise him that he needed these items for tropical fish.

Furthermore, no one bothered to tell him that they sell fish starter kits that include a 20 gallon tank, all equipment needed, including a heater, for the total price of $95. When I arrived home 1.5 hours after my son made the purchase, I found him furiously trying to set up all the equipment in the tank, painfully aware that the bagged fish would not survive much longer. He had the tank filled with water and the filter pump running but the water was a thick murky white from the gravel dust. The fish were still sitting in the bags. Anyone with fish tank experience, including pet stores, know new gravel has dust that makes the water murky for a few days and is not suitable for fish. I told my son we needed to return the fish as fast as possible and that since he didn't have a heater or thermometer there was little chance the fish would survive in the murky cold water.

When I returned the fish to the store and asked to speak to the manager she was very apologetic and said it was a new employee that sold my son the $283 worth of stuff. The manager told me it was store policy to advise customers set up new tanks two weeks prior to purchasing the fish and again said it was a new employee who dealt with my son. I told her that the cashier and others at the store should have also noticed a 14 year old buying a ton of new fish tank equipment and bags of fish at the same time. Since the manager was aware of the situation, the manager must have been aware at the time when my 14 year old was in the store and spending $283, against store policy, yet she did nothing!! I guess she was apologetic only because she got caught ripping off a minor!

When I pointed out the $95 fish tank starter kits for sale, she offered no explanation as to why these were not pointed out to my son instead of duping him out of $283. I also found out later that it is against store policy to sell any live animals to unaccompanied minors. A few days later I returned everything my son purchased including the used equipment for a full refund. That was the only good thing about this experience.

The store offers a very nice selection of items and their prices are pretty reasonable. They have several locations and you can order online also. They also have good sales and it's nice to get a coupon for a free item every now and then. They offer grooming services and training classes for your fur baby as well as a clinic and pet hotel at some locations.

Because of that, I only purchase my cat litter there, but I ONLY buy it there because they send me email sales. I can order and pay online and just pick it up.

This store is close to home, which is why I frequent it over other pet stores. They have enough of a selection for our turtle and fish to get everything we need. The staff is usually helpful, but we've had a few negative experiences when we couldn't find someone to help who knew anything about turtles. Overall, though, this is still our go-to store.

The staff is courteous, helpful and knowledgeable, but the prices are continually rising and I only shop here when the regular discount stores are out of stock. There are weekend sales all the time, but the prices go up shortly afterward to compensate for the loss, e.g., treats that were $1.97 before the sale price of $1.89 rose to $2.09 after the sale. Their online prices are generally lower, but ordering for store pickup is a joke. An order placed in the morning is promised to be ready within 2-3 hours, but often, it is not ready until after I call the following day. It is not unusual for one particular store to have "lost" the order, or claim not to have rec'd it even though Customer Service HQ says they have the notification that the order was placed and/or picked. I suspect that store just does not want to honor the lower online price.

I typically shop between both PetSmart & Petco as each carry different brands and products. PetSmart's Authority line of dog food has been a hit with my finicky eater senior dog. One key difference with Petco is that they seem to carry more diverse lines (other than GNC products) for canine health and wellness products -- e.g., vitamins, digestive aids, etc. -- so I more rely on them for those products. PetSmart is reliable and consistent, and the Authority line of dog food has proven to be a winner -- according to my dog! A potential area for growth might be to consider the health & wellness products currently provided -- perhaps expanding brands, but also with an eye toward the needs of senior dogs.

I had made reservations for my Fur Baby at PETSMART PET HOTEL Orchard Park NY and went on vacation as I have done in the past and never had a problem. Well none that I might have know about. But my Fur Baby wasn't able to tell me if there was. But this time he was in their kennel from November 26th 2016 and it was his final time there. I had my daughter take him to the hotel where he was to stay and he was scheduled to stay for 8 days.

While I was on a cruise and 3 days into my vacation I was called by my daughters that my Fur Baby was no longer welcomed at the pet hotel where he has stayed numerous times before not because he was a vicious Fur Baby but because all of a sudden of the pet hotel concrete floors. Where they said he can't walk on and slipped but are not saying whether he hurt himself from slipping on the floor. I know my Fur Baby was always prancing and walking around after he stretched because he was given to me by the Grace of God 17 years ago. But the day he was picked up from the hotel they had to carry him to the car. He couldn't even walk out of the hotel and had to be taken to a vet and had to be destroyed. The day the PetSmart Pet Hotel called to have him picked up was the last day my fur baby took his final breath because he couldn't walk anymore!!!

I just got off the phone being I just got home from being on the vacation from hell not because of the vacation but being notified that my Fur Baby was going to have to be put down and his Dad couldn't be there for him as he was there for me for many years. They won't even let you see what they say are the videos of his final days under their care which I'm sure were not running if they had. The real sad thing about this is and beware the call might happen to you and when you can't get to your Fur baby child because you're on the other side of the world it will be crushing and leave you with this big empty hole in your heart.

However, I had a very bad day on Friday, Nov 18, 2016, when I brought my dog Millie in for her routine bath. She is a Lab x German Shepherd. I waited outside because she is always done in under 40 minutes. I watched the groomer bring her out, jump on the stand and the groomer maybe ran the grooming comb through her coat perhaps 5 times if that. Millie is a big 80 lb dog. She needs a little more brushing than that!! I went directly in. I always opt for the basic wash and groom at $35.00 (PetSmart -check your records) and did so again. I explicitly asked for the $35.00 grooming and bath. I was charged $39.00.

I suggested she made an error and she told me there is a surcharge on weekends. I was not told that when I checked in. I would have said NO and booked another day. I consider this gauging and poor business. I have been bringing my dog here for grooming and baths since you opened!!! So to add insult to the matter my dog did not even get a good grooming. I feel ripped off.

I had also bought $148.93 worth of dog food, Nutrience, on November 9th, 2016. The large sign below the food said 10% off. After wrestling the bags up to the till I was told the "10% discount 'in very small print'" is applied to your next purchase, if you bring your receipt back and show the cashier. The sale would have expired before I needed more. I'm very angry and upset. This is trickery advertising. Your cashier agreed with me. Is this how you want to treat regular clientele??? Real concerns with the "Hotel and Daycare" manager not having ANY animal experience. Tension can be felt by employees and dogs alike; employees are not watching the dogs in daycare and some dogs are being "bothered" by other dogs, which is a big time no-no. If dogs don't "behave" they are not given water and put into a too small cage. They won't have water the rest of the day. Some employees appear to have the same mentality as this manager. Some dogs have been slapped or kicked when they do something "wrong". I write this because this information came from people I feel are truly concerned but unable to speak out. The next time your dog doesn't want to stay somewhere it may be more than they are missing you.

The employees at PetSmart are always very nice, but unfortunately the PetSmart on E Independence in Charlotte NC, has sold me 3 beta fish with an ick disease parasite and I've returned fish and got more with this disease after I spent $160 on fish, tanks, decorations, food etc. And then I just had to spend another $40 to try and save the fish that our 9 m old and 7-year-old are in love with. I think PetSmart needs to treat their fish for parasite and diseases. I think they should look over the animals when people buy them to make sure nothing is wrong with them, as to some of us would not know if they are sick. When checking out the cashier should be able to look at the fish or the lady putting the fish in a bag should be able to say this fish is sick and the treatment for the sick fish they sold should be free.

The lady at the checkout told me that you only feed beta fish once a day every other day only 2-3 pellets which is wrong. You can feed them every day or twice a day but no more than 2-3 pellets. They also are tropical fish and need heaters to kill this parasite and keep the tanks warm, and very clean etc. That dirty tank water or left over food can lead to tail rot, which the lady helping me buy everything for these fish never even mentioned. I think that PetSmart needs to print off a what you need list for every animal they sell and give the people buying animals the list to make sure they have everything since the employees do not know what is needed. Since the employees do not know anything about the animals.

After returning a beta fish with this ick she told me it was not contagious which it is highly contagious. She told me that I didn't have to change the tank water since I bought the fish the day before not even (48 hours), that I could just add the new beta in the split beta tank and now both betas have this ick disease. Which is white spots all over the fish and tail and becomes itchy to them and they slowly die and stop eating, can't breathe, lay on the bottom of the tank and have to keep going up for air. I think that all of this could have been prevented if the lady in the fish department knew about this disease in the beta fish they are selling and the treatment, the fish could have been saved. I'm $200 into just wanting beta fish for my two daughters to be able to have to look at, instead this has been a headache and loss.

Do your homework and compare prices. They will price match and you will save 15-30% every time but only if you tell them. Then check your receipt because they somehow "forget" to price match each item. A 25 lb. bag of dog food was 18.00 cheaper online. 2 weeks ago on State Ave PetSmart I adopted 2 cats cause I already adopted 1 cat 2 month before and so pleased. I had to go back and offer a home to another homeless cat so I winded up only keeping one. The other had 2 personality. He slept with me, laid in my lap and talked all the time! So only after 24 hrs I was in between shifts. Come home real quick. I attempted to get the cat off the bed. He wrapped his body around me, started biting and scratching me! It took me a minute to realize what was happening and as quick it happened it was over! I was in so much pain but I had to go back to work so I washed off the blood but no way to cover all the scratches and bite marks. Wearing a uniform so I had to go to work with all the wounds exposed.

By the end of the night my hand started to swell and it was getting hard to use. I got home. Went to bed with a ice pack on my hand. Didn't help by morning. I couldn't even use my hand. Went to the ER. Was prescribed antibiotics. Had to call in to work that evening. The cat was laying next to my husband. He attacked and bit him so we take the cat back. The employee said "I got to get my manager." I showed her what he did to me and my husband she was really rude! And she said we signed paperwork, nothing we can do, and we can never adopt from them again for returning the cat. No apology or empathy.

The worse part I tried to go to work the next day. My hand was completely unusable! Still swollen went back to the doctor to only get more antibiotics and be admitted to the hospital the next day and had surgery on my hand cause pus was going all the way to the bone where I started losing feeling and the pus had started another path which the doctor told me it was leading to a major blood vessels. If or I not gone to the doctor when I did I been dead probably Sun. or Mon. They did emergency surgery to stop the pus cause as the doctor said it had a straight line to a major blood vessel. Spent 3 days in the hospital. Also had to work with a physical therapist to get movement back in my hand on IV cause the antibiotics I was taking at home was resistance to them.

I missed work for 4 days due to their cat. I only wanted to help. Got no apology just basically told I won't get my money back plus basically not welcome back in their store! Thanks PetSmart! I almost died due to one your cats. Then on my way to being admitted to the hospital my husband wanted to stop there to tell them what was happening cause nobody ever even apologize to us. Guess what? I seen the same cat that almost killed me back on display for some unfortunate clueless family to adopt him! PetSmart don't have to worry. We both agreed we will NEVER EVER shop or adopt there again!

They are very insensitive and don't care about the customers just making money. That's why to me I brought paperwork showing I was being treated for animal bites and just a slap in the face the cat is up for adoption again. Who cares the cat bit you? Your hand swollen up to where you couldn't use it. Missed 4 days of work. Almost died if I didn't go to the hospital when I did had to take physical therapy to regain use of my hand and have emergency surgery. We just care bout ourselves and making money! I am a manager of a business. I would never dare treat our customers that way! I would be FIRED! Bad business. Beware of adopting animals from PETSMART!

First I called them late since they did not call me, they said it would be about 3 hours since it was Saturday. When more than 3 hours passed I decided to call and they told me they left me a message long ago, I never got it. When I arrived to the store, the lady showed me the number they had it was the wrong number. After I went and paid and when I got home I notice my shih tzu was uncomfortable. I understand since the hair was done very short. Lately that day he started having a dry cough and he was feverish, he did not sleep all night and neither did I, plus they gave me a "pawgress report" using the word HORRIBLE to describe my dog.

It is not nice that they charge so much and cannot handle an animal properly, the lady had bad attitude and seems careless to me. Now I will observe him and hope he does not need to go to the vet, which if the case they should pay for it. Also his skin under the neck is super irritated. They should tell clients what to do when this happens not what will happen. They are good at cover their backs good, making you sign lots of papers. For sure never will go back.

Horrible corporate office experience. I was hired as stocker 10 years ago. I told the manager I had to quit. My mother took a bad turn health wise. Not even a week was I there. Instead of empathy for my situation he put god knows what on my application so I could never be hired again by PetSmart. I never knew this. I'm a groomer now. I have had 3 store manager want to hire me. They can't find qualified help but they can't correct what the manager did 10 years ago. I called the corporate office. They bounced me to human resources. They said we don't handle that then I was told the problem was corrected just to find out it wasn't. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, cold, cold people. No sympathy for my situation. I guess they don't like people who want to work for their store. Thanks a lot.

I recently had my Maltese groomed at PetSmart in Amsterdam, NY by Margaret a groomer. I had left her with a note to ONLY GIVE MY DOG A BATH, TRIM NAILS and DRY her. She took it upon herself to cut her hair... she butchered her to a unrecognizable state... She is shaved raw in the back leg area, all of her hair on her ears are cut and blotches of shaved areas throughout. I was outraged to say the least. The manager on duty that night would not refund me 35.00. She told me I would have to see the store manager in the morning. I did not want to make a scene and I was so upset about my dog I agreed to come back in the morning. I arrived the next day and was greeted by three managers who claimed, "You signed the agreement form and there is nothing we can do for you." You "MUST" sign the agreement form which releases any liability to PetSmart if anything were to happen to your pet while in their care. SERIOUSLY!!!

Once again I only signed for a "bath". Their policy also states "100% satisfaction or your money back". I disagreed with their answer and asked for a District Manager or Supervisor. They replied "Good luck. They will tell you the same thing" because you signed the form. Furthermore, "unfortunately you are not allowed in our store again due to the disagreement with our policy." I have been taking my dogs to this Amsterdam PetSmart for four years and clearly spend a considerable amount of money... I am appalled at the service that I received. There are no words to explain.

I would like to reach out to the Michael J Massey, the CEO of the company. I would love for him to first and foremost see what my dog looks like now after this "haircut" that I DID NOT ASK FOR. I would like him to see the note that I gave to the groomer requesting "no" haircut, just a bath (they made a copy of it at the store), then I would ask him to go back to develop, teach and train his staff in the field of customer service. PetSmart is in the "service" industry and "retail" industry... Customer service is about bringing customers back not asking them not to return. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Too stupid to know how to refund paypal, however I think this is just a damn ploy to get your money!!!

I recently bought the Deluxe Cat Playground. This product's PetSmart SKU # is 5526822. This product was missing the very top piece that is shown on the instructions as the top perching piece. I didn't notice this until I had assembled the entire playground which includes 16 pieces. I called PetSmart's corporate office, and they told me there was nothing they could do and to take apart the product and return the entire thing. This weighs quite a bit and the product is 63 inches tall, 19 in wide, 28 inches in length. This will be a pain to return. I will be returning the product and buying another product from elsewhere. I'm sure the store employees will greatly appreciate the return as much as I do. I will also write missing a piece on the box.

If I could give them a minus Star I would. I have waited almost three months to write this review. I was extremely upset with PetSmart Hotel, therefore I wanted to wait until things had calmed down and I was in more of a rational state of mind, so that I wouldn't exaggerate, but only tell the facts. Every Monday I take my 5 pound Toy Poodle, Wyatt, to the Doggie Day Care in PetSmart on Germann in Chandler. Wyatt is 30 months old now and I've been taking him there ever since he was approximately 6 months old. I liked the idea that he could socialize with other dogs, because I live in an apartment where socialization is rare.

I find Mike ** the manager, extremely caring and very watchful. He knows all his weekly dogs and their personalities. He cares for Wyatt like he is his own and I feel perfectly secure in leaving Wyatt among a variety of breeds and various types and sizes of dogs. Mike has a keen eye to watch your pet to keep him safe. There has never been one unhappy occurrence since I began taking Wyatt there.

On June 14th, 20016, I needed to board Wyatt, so of course PetSmart Hotel came to mind, mainly because Wyatt has had such good play times at the other PetSmart. Unfortunately, where I take him on Mondays did not have a hotel, so I had to take him to the PetSmart on Elliott in Tempe. That is where the decision I made turned into a nightmare and I will forever regret it.

Two days later, on my way to pick up Wyatt, I received a call from a person at the hotel to tell me my dog had been attacked by a very large dog and I needed to come immediately and get him. Right after that call the Vet from that PetSmart called to say Wyatt was hurt pretty bad and get here as quick as I can. When I arrived at the store, a girl at the Hotel, said, "Wyatt is hurt bad, and he is in the back of the store at the Vet's." When I asked them what had happened they told me the bare basics and nothing more. When I asked them to prepare me a telephone number of the owner of the other dog, they would not comply. They just told me "Go get your dog because he has to go to an emergency 24/7 hospital."

I rushed back to the vet to find my little 5 lb dog swollen like a baby pig. The large dog had punctured his trachea and air had escaped between his muscles and skin. So it caused him to swell and his body was huge compared to his head. I was so frightened and the Vet said there is nothing he can do because they don't do surgeries there or have a 24/7 hospital. I was in a state of anger, and frustration and only wanting to get my dog to a hospital, but I had no idea where an ER was for animals.

As I got back to the front of the store, I was upset and asked who would was going to pay for this, because I didn't have the $2000 that it ultimately cost for the ER doctors to help him, yet I knew I needed to hurry. The manager of the Hotel, said "Tell them to call me and PetSmart will have to pay." She said "Don't worry, we are going to investigate this and get back with you ASAP." I left immediately with Wyatt yelping and in pain. I had no one to assist me and I had to drive to a hospital I had never been to before, holding Wyatt, while I was trying to soothe him and drive safely.

The emergency hospital asked me if I would want to sign a DNR, as most dogs who are hurt badly, don't come out of it anyway if they have to resuscitate. (sp) They had to shave him to find all the puncture wounds and he was put in an Oxygen container to help him breathe. I was heartbroken and angry that no one paid attention to my dog at the hotel where I was paying them to give him good care and be attentive to him.

Two weeks later, finally someone from the PetSmart hotel called to inquire how Wyatt was. He could have been dead by then. But he wasn't and they told me the "investigation" was still ongoing. A group of liars. I still have no answers to what exactly happened. It took Wyatt many weeks to get his nerve back to socializing with other dogs and people. If you love your pet do not board him with people who don't watch them or care about them. This is a horrible place. The next attack could be on your dog.

My husband took our dog to get her nails done and was told that we can't bring her back because she peed too many times while they were doing her nails. She hates going there and she is so scared and nervous that her peeing on the floor is to be expected. I thought that PetSmart was a pet friendly place but after our experience tonight we know that isn't true. We will be telling all of our friends and family and anyone that will listen not to bring their loved pets to PetSmart. We will be giving our money to someone who actually loves animals and understands them. PetSmart is a terrible place to bring your pet.

I went to PetSmart today only to get my son excited to get a new fish friend for his tank. We left sadly disappointed along with another couple who had no knowledge of their misleading fish policy. The PetSmart employee and her manager told me that their store policy is if the fish grows up to (no the size of the fish now) but if the fish you have at home grows up to 3 inches, that one single fish should have 1 gallon to itself. Therefore if I have a 5 gallon tank at home with three fish that could possibly grow up to 3 inches my fish tank is overcrowded, and they refuse to sell any fish to me.

I don't have an issue with the policy but if you are going to be in business of false advertising and fish cruelty (as they would call it) you should have that specific policy posted so everyone is aware and probably follow the same standard you set for fish owners. You are false advertising with 35-40 fish that can grow up to 3 inches EACH in a 10 gallon (max) fish tank in the store. My fish are not 3 inches long but you're telling me you refuse to sell me one single fish because I already have a half a fish over the limit, then you should be displaying your 40 fish in a 120 gallon tank, NO? I mean that's their store policy and they don't even follow it. When I asked the manager why they don't follow their own policy, she told me, "Well this is a show tank."

I'm sorry but the show tank has been there for 15+ years and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you have more than 3 fish in there at all times, hell there is 40 in there now. Even though they say it is a temporary home until someone buys them doesn't mean overcrowd them. There is no telling how long those fish will be in there. You wouldn't put 5 cats in one carrier to get them all home would you or put them on a plane like that? I told her she was breaking her own policy and she didn't seem to think so because it was a show tank.

The fish are still living every day in an extremely overcrowded tank, it's 11-13 times what they allow you to have at home. I'm just saying if you are going to have a policy and you refuse to sell then you should display as such and also follow the policy you hold your customers to as well. Do not make it appear these animals can live 40 to a tank when they are only supposed to be 3 in there. I will never buy anything from this store.

BEWARE: If you called PetSmart to set up an appointment to get your dog a grooming days before and that appointment was set for 12:30. You expect your dog to get that service on that time and continuously till he's done. Surprisingly soon after they had my dog and I asked when possibly is the pick up time, I was then told that they have another customer who paid extra for their dog to be taken care of at 1:30. So that gives my dog only an hour to be taken care of. I was told that they will do what they can only do to him within that time frame, stop, put him back in the cage and have my dog wait till they are done working on their 1:30 customer. So basically, put my dog in fear (because he hates getting haircut), stop and give him the relief thinking it's over only to be taken back to continue whatever it is that they have to do.

WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THAT??? I've had them groom my dog many times in the past and I never knew this is how they work. All I am trying to imply is when we called and you had that 1:30 appointment with another dog already, then don't bring up the 12:30 appointment since you can't continuously groom my dog OR if that other customer called later, then explain to them that you can't do 1:30 because you will be working on my dog. I mean seriously just because they paid extra, we stand nothing to all of you??? I refused to accept this kind of service and this will be the last time I'm taking my dog to your grooming services. Of course, I will have my friends & family who have furbabies know about this so they can be aware too.

Absolutely terrible store. The highlight of our visit to the store was the man that greeted us as we walked in and showed us where the grooming area was. ALL DOWNHILL FROM THERE. We recently moved to the area and have frequented many PetSmarts prior to this. We needed to get our dog's nails trimmed, and told the young lady this when we went into the salon.

The first thing out of her mouth after giving her the phone # associated with our account was, "We're muzzling today?" Now, our dog has NEVER been muzzled for absolutely ANY reason. She is not, and was not, in any way behaving aggressively in any version of the term. I looked at her and said that no, of course not and that was NOT happening. She THEN asks if we have her vaccination records with us. (We did... and we have NEVER been asked for them at any other PetSmart or other pet store, but it's totally fine.) We gave them to her, and after she spent 4 minutes looking them over, I had to point out where it plainly showed her vaccination date for rabies.

The young woman then looks at me and says, "What's your problem with muzzling anyway?", and I told her that as we have never had any sort of issues with our dog and her behavior AND her vaccines are up to date that I had no idea why she would ever even suggest it. She then rolled her eyes and turned to a customer that had just walked in and ignored us. I wanted to leave at this point, but did not.

She finally took our dog back and quickly clipped her nails. Zero interaction with her and no gentle touch. Our dog's nails are split and broken off, and the salon was absolutely filthy. HUGE clumps of hair everywhere and dirt ALL OVER THE FLOOR. I regret letting the service even happen, and most certainly will NEVER RETURN. Grossed out. Thank goodness our dog is fine.

I had to call the vet, and am giving him Benadryl to alleviate his itch. He is so uncomfortable. On top of it, the cost of grooming was $120.00, plus I gave a generous tip. Again, he looks like a three year old played hairdresser with him. Do NOT bring your pets there for grooming. They will suffer for days due to the products they use. I've shopped at PetSmart 10 times in the past year and all 10 times, many of my items that are on sale ring up at full price. I've also had cashiers ring items multiple times and overcharge me. This seems to be a scam. Recently, a bag of bacon strips were on sale for $7.77, down from $12.99. I got in an empty line, and when the cashier rang the bag of strips, it came up as $9.99. When I debated the price, she said I was wrong and was holding up a now 6 person deep line. She claimed she was the only cashier for the night (it was 6 pm on a weekday). I ignored the grumbling crowd and told them it was my right not to be overcharged as I ran over to the display (which was right next to the cash register), turned the box so she could see the stack of bacon strip bags, and pulled the sale sticker for her.

She immediately apologized and stated I was right about the price. I've been overcharged now by $78 between all of the sale price mishaps. I've complained to multiple managers who glare at me with an accusatory stare. Absolutely ridiculous! This has all happened at the PetSmart in Westminster and Superior, Colorado. I was also very disturbed on a recent visit when a cashier told me a dog was killed earlier that day because it got loose from its owner, ran through the automatic door, and got hit by a truck in the parking lot. I hope the owner sued! Get it together, PetSmart!! I'll shop at T.J. Maxx for my pet needs instead... way cheaper for the same exact items!

No clearance price was listed, or percentage off, but I was just happy it was going to be a little cheaper. I got to the cash register and the girl rang up the collar and I also got the matching leash. Both were ringing up at full cost. I told her, "Those are on a clearance rack." She quickly called over her manager. He told me if they were on a clearance rack it was probably put there by mistake. I told him it's not the only set, that there is another one there also. He took them and went to check. He came back and told me, "That is the price on them, they're just on the clearance rack to get rid of them."

I told him, "No, that's the original price" - that they're ringing up. He said, "Yes. That's the price. They aren't on sale, just on 'clearance'." I told him clearance means a sale. He said, "No, they just want to get them out of the store so they are on 'clearance'." I asked him, "So you aren't lowering the cost?" He said, "No." I told him that is NOT cool! NOT COOL!! She had long dark hair in a ponytail and glasses, roughly grooming a small dog. I believe the dog was a Shih Tzu. She was brushing the ear and extremely rough and pulling on the dog's head. I continued to browse at the dog beds and noticed something very disturbing. She was jerking the dog around and yelling at the dog. It was quick, but I know what I saw. I can only assume she thought that no one was around.

I immediately went to the window and shouted to her. Her behavior was unacceptable. I then found a manager, Jeff. Told him what I saw. He went to talk to her. I watched. They then started laughing and talking and he started sweeping the floor. He presumably did not want to come back out. I then found a nice female manager who directed me to the actual grooming manager, Alyssa. I told her what I saw and she told me sometimes it seems different from the outside. I then told her I could not shop there. This was so disturbing. I left and have no idea what happened from there. The poor dog. Please spread the word and NEVER go to their grooming department!!!

I know this is not as serious as some of the other comments I have read but I want to warn customers when shopping at PetSmart that when you check out and they offer you their "FREE" puppy guide filled with coupons don't take it... It does say on it 19.99 but when you are told it's free you expect just that but instead what they do is offer you the book for free use some of the coupons inside (obviously because they looked in my cart before offering it) and then say with the coupons coming off that's how it ends up being free and that it's filled with over 200.00 dollars in coupons (most useless to me) and they charge you for the book.

Just be warned when they say free. Make sure it's just that "FREE". I used one coupon for 15 dollars off my dog's food and they gave me 5 dollars off for spending over 25 dollars. Then charged me 19.99 for the book. When I called the Toms River NJ manager Nick I was told it was free because of the coupons I used. They are some confused people about what the term free actually means. I had to BUY the book to use the coupons to get the book FREE.

And lots of reviews mention young adults in the stores and that is exactly what they are. The manager is very much younger than myself and I am 46. They all look like young kids out of school looking for jobs just to get by until they finish college or find something better. They are definitely not educated about animals. Although I do have to give an amazing review for the very nice lady that does the dog training in the Toms River NJ store. She was extremely helpful and took the time to speak to me about a behavior issue I was having with my dog. She spent about a half hour with me and never charged me for her wisdom. Oh on May 2 we had to put 10yr old husband cat to sleep. Scott goes in hospital May 3, passes 5/28. So now I have a bird. I named him Bullwinkle, because that is Scott's favorite cartoon. And what a beautiful blue smart bird. We had routine, the bird, the other cat and myself. Every morning put bird out before it's too hot, feed cat, make coffee and try to get through another day knowing that I'm never going to see or kiss or hug the love of my life again.

To say that I became attached to Bullwinkle is a understatement. Well July 30 how sad more depressed do you think a person can take when they go to the birdcage and all I see is my pretty boy stuck under his water container dead and it was not easy to remove him. 25 days and he was dead. I called the store. You don't have a lot of rocket scientist working there. Then I get to tell my adult son that the bird died. They said in the grooming department they only had 2 groomers, so I waited for a cancellation, and finally got one to have my dog groomed. I arrived at 10:30 and the groomer was late, so I went into the grooming salon and saw 5 people standing around. I said I thought you only had 2 groomers, to which a young woman pointing out 2 girls and said they are bathers for the dogs. So I asked her if she was a groomer? To which she replied in a very haughty tone, "I am the salon manager" like she was a God and I should bow down to her. Never a "hello welcome to PetSmart grooming" or even a smile. She then began an interrogation about my dog's health. I answered and said my groomer knows all this. She seemed aggravated, still no smile. I felt very unwelcomed there. She then said in a very cold tone "it's PetSmart policy to ask these questions."

Thank goodness my dog groomer arrived and saved me from the ice queen. I left my dog with my groomer and after they were finished, I went to pickup my dog and confronted the salon manager about her conduct. I said "I got a very cold welcome from you and I wanted to clear the air and not have any tension when I come back for future grooming for my dog." I said to her she was a cold person because that is the way she treated me. She lashed out at me and said "this conversation is over." So I felt as if I was being banished from her kingdom and my wife called our groomer to ask if she could bring our dog for her next appointment. The groomer then said she would have to ask the salon manager for her to do so. I then called and told the groomer I was sorry to lose her as a groomer.

We tried to call and talk to the manager, but we only got the runaround and were told they can't give out the name of any manager and that I offended everyone in the salon, because of our numerous calls which were only 4 calls trying to track down the manager. They said I had offended too many people because of all this. I was told they would not groom my dog again. I will never spend another penny at PetSmart again. I guess the old saying the customer is right is out the window as far as PetSmart is concerned.

The only reason that I'm giving them two stars is because of the associate Hayley who was very nice and understanding. My girlfriend and I walked in to buy Superworms for our Chameleons and as we passed the reptile enclosures we saw a relatively large veiled chameleon literally reaching for us through the glass of his tiny cage. Anybody who knows chameleons that this isn't typical behavior, so we stopped. His urates were deep orange which is a sign of dehydration. We felt bad for the big guy so we asked to send an employee over. Hayley came over and let us see him, even though she warned us that he was mean. He was definitely scared but calmed down quickly once he realized that we didn't want to harm him. We spoke with Hayley about his condition. She said that she thought he'd been here for almost a year.

I mentioned the dehydration and explained it to her and she was very thankful. We tried to put the chameleon back for a solid five minutes but he refused to leave us, desperately trying to stay out of the horrible cage. I then asked about adoption so Josh, a manager came over, and immediately told us that there was nothing he could do. Said the chameleon had only been there a month or two. Blamed his 'team' for the dehydration and said he'd talk to them and fix it. Not satisfied with this, we spoke to Dave the store manager. Dave came over, said he stood by his guy, Josh, but said a different month as to when the poor chameleon got in. After I pressed him he was more understanding than Josh but said he couldn't adopt him out to us until next month due to policy.

I would very much like to contact the district manager myself and explain the situation and have him authorize the adoption because my girlfriend and I feel badly for the chameleon but we won't pay the store for their poor husbandry and living conditions at PetSmart. The chameleon enclosures are far inadequate even for temporary solutions and it's causing a great deal of harm to this poor chameleon. I will update this post as the story unfolds. We'll be calling corporate on Monday regardless.

I used to work for this horrible establishment. I tried other pet stores but for lack of experience I was only able to get this place. I have a bachelor's degree and was seeking a career change and took a considerable drop in income to work there, basically determined to work with animals. Starting from the ground up, one could say. As a person that adores and admires all creatures on this Earth, dogs being my favorite animal of course, this company does NOT care about how you care about your animal. Shop at Petco, better yet Petfood Express, and best yet - any mom & pop store you can find. After learning about the 2 deaths in Bay area, California, I am not surprised. The company is just a bunch of kids, most of whom don't even own their own pets. They are untrained and for the most part, uncaring. Who in their right mind strangles a one-year old dog?! He went in for a nail trim and came out dead.

It makes sense to me. I was only been employed with them for less than 2 months, and in my last week a customer's dog escaped from him. The gentleman was older, in his 70's I believe, and told me his dog had gotten loose. This is something I would not have found out without chatting with him, and by the way I often got in trouble for being "too friendly and chatty" with the customers...what?!? THESE PEOPLE are your customers, don't you want them to leave with a smile? Nope, just ring up their sales and send 'em packing.

Back on topic, I would not have known this dog escaped had I not broken the rules and "chatted" him up. He wasn't exactly on high alert with the employees. I asked the protocol for an escaped pet and was ignored by the staff. Blew me away. Logically, if dog is still in store he is safe, but if he got outside, well then it's a rather large parking lot and a very busy blvd.

First thing I did was run outside and he was a couple parking lanes down running in between cars. I stopped an older lady from hitting the dog by throwing my body into the lane. It was a very bright day and when you've been inside for a while and suddenly go outside, one's visibility is poor. Grabbed the dog and returned him to his owner, ALONE. The store staff couldn't care less and when I explained the experience to my staff no one cared. I didn't even get a fracking gold star. A customer's dog got loose and through 2 doors with no one noticing, about to become road kill, and they acted like it was as important as my register being 5 cents short. BLEW MY MIND.

I got constant complaints from customers about how condescending the staff is. I was ashamed to work for such an establishment. The only redemption this horrid company has is a cat adoption section with an extremely high turn-over rate. No kill policy as they are donated from the SPCA. But the adoption center is just part of their corporate image. Don't shop here, they don't care about how you care about your pets. The Wal-Mart of pet supplies. Just cornering a niche in the market. Care about your animals, don't support a company model based on greed.

I have been communicating with ** the practice manager for the Tyrone location and Banfield's customer advocacy team who hung up on me. I have yet have any fair resolution offering made by Banfield which is really upsetting. You think as veterinarians if they would care about their customers and general well-being of the pets they treat or failed to. Due to them and their veterinary partners not properly treating my puppy's broken leg she was in extreme pain for two weeks and her leg healed incorrectly. Now to have it healed properly they will have to re-break it and it will mostly likely be at least another $3,000 in out of pocket expenses.

It breaks my heart that I am not the only owner of a pet that has suffered in the hands of Banfield. These are people's babies you are mistreating and it needs to stop!! Please do some research on Google or the Facebook group Boycott Banfield Pet Hospital before you take your pets to Banfield. We boarded our Anatolian Shepherd, 9 months old, at the PetSmart at Tiffany Springs, Kansas City, MO. I had asked the receptionist area if they were familiar with the breed due to these dogs are not your typical domesticated dogs. She said they were and had many that stayed there. On my report that I received when picked up was: food: there were leftovers. Eager for a meal at home. Snacks: too full to eat. Fun, nothing. Bedtime: a little restless, a lot of barking. Potty: took a little coaxing. Overall: had a pleasant stay. (Really!) Staff notes: Akina was a little nervous for her stay with us. She did not want to eat much of her food and had a hard time sleeping but overall she didn't mind us much at all (not sure what this one means). Other than when we walked by she wanted to make sure we knew she was there! (Not sure what that means either.)

Got her home, peed on the floor, did not get in trouble. Now it was going to happen since she had not seen the light of day for a week. She ran into her kennel and began shaking uncontrollably like she had been beaten, like a seizure or something. In which I had given special instructions that if another dog becomes aggressive with her she will be quick to react, nature of this breed. I called and spoke to the manager Jennifer whom stated by reading the notes that they had moved her several times due to barking at them and other dogs and that it's very noisy when you have 60 dogs, so therefore mine was not the only one barking but she would review the video to make sure nothing happened to her.

An emergency visit to the our vet this morning, still acting very strange. Now don't get me wrong I have had dogs my whole life and raised and trained Rotties and know that when dogs are misplaced in an unfamiliar area they become stressed. Our dog's beyond stressed. Came out of PetSmart with an ear infection, which she did not go in with, a fever which she did not go in with, and diarrhea which she did not go in with (which this is due to being stressed, and a shot to calm her down to bring her back to normal, let's hope).

But the response I got from Jennifer the manager today was that she looked at the video and Akina was given 30 min 4 X a day with someone. I don't think so, I asked to see the video. Against company policy. Seriously. We'll see about that later. Told her I expected PetSmart to pay my $159.00 bill for the vet visit that should have never taken place. I have never in my days of having dogs ever took one to the vet after being boarded.

In response to all the girls I spoke to in the staffing department told me Akina was doing great. If move from kennel to kennel that tells me you all got didn't like her barking, which is only natural for this breed, and that one of your ex-employee's has an Anatolian and would bring it to work daily until she quiet, so I have to say you all are lying about everything you said you did to make sure our dog was in the best of care as you say and your ad states but what bothers me the most is how defensive the manager would get when I would make any comment. As my vet said, lesson learned. I bet if we tried to take our dog back into PetSmart she would not go in.

This is the worst I have ever had a dog treated, knowing PetSmart is lying about everything, since I got so many different reports from, Roxanna, Josie, Steph, and Danielle, whom two of them where total ** on the phone and not to mention the hold time just to check on our dog, over 30mins. When I called Jennifer the manager this morning after the vet visit, she stated I should have brought her in to their vet due to reading the back of the pets hotel brochure it states in the last paragraph (coughing): if you notice any coughing within a week of coming home, your dog may have tracheobronchitis, which is a contagious condition similar to the common cold (not another form of kennel cough that the vaccine does not kill!). You may also notice decreased appetite (already happened) or lethargy. Should you see any of these symptoms please contact your veterinarian.

Now if this is what it says why would Jennifer the manager tell me I should have brought her to PetSmart vet? Huge? So a $140.00 for our dog whom did not get taken care of in the fashion of which they state. $159.00 extra for a vet bill that should have never taken place and that they may cover or not. We'll see. They have no idea who they're dealing with. So in all I should have paid attention to the signs of the Golden Retriever that was being checked in when I took our vet vaccination papers in first. That dog did not want to be there. I can read dogs very well, been around them all my life...

So moral of the story if you truly value your pet, I would not board, play dates, cause they only lie about it. 4 hours of play time in the day, the rest in a kennel and a potty walk on concrete. If I had known she would have never went. The uncaring of the manager is the most disgusting and your suppose to be a dog lover but get very offensive when I state the truth, about your staff and what you did to our dog. I will be taking this up with corporate in a heart beat first thing Monday morning, so be ready. Pics below top after PetSmart, bottom, day before. Big difference.

No one from this midtown location even thought to call me. After about four hours, I called PetSmart and asked to speak to Carolyn, but no one ever informed me that she had abruptly left for the day. To my chagrin, I was put on hold indefinitely until I finally decided to go to the store to check on Champ.

Upon arrival, I was most disconsolate, for Champ had been traumatized by the entire ordeal. He was shaking uncontrollably and his heart was beating rapidly. Who made the "executive order" to NOT permit Carolyn to complete her work that she had begun? What "genius" thought of that? Carolyn does EXCELLENT work. I have gone to this Petsmart for a while now and they have made some big mistakes. First, I took my dog to the Banfield Hospital to get some routine shots and a checkup when he was a puppy. The Veterinarian (not the assistant) recommended that we get our dog neutered because he was hyper. We rescued our dog from the Humane Society, which will not let you leave with the dog without being neutered - they knew that's where we got our dog. Secondly, the Vet told us this AFTER she took my dog's temperature. How did she not notice that he was already neutered.

I took my dogs to this Petsmart to get their nails clipped and my boyfriend and I could hear my dog literally screaming from the front of the store (where the groomer is) when we were way in the back of the store. Before this experience he didn't behave badly when getting his nails clipped. When we got home we noticed that he had dried blood on a couple of his nails... No wonder he was screaming. We were then told that because our dog got so worked up during the clippings, that he wasn't allowed back. No problem. I will never shop at this store again. It's the worst Pet store I have ever been to. They don't care about the animals and they make that clear. If you love your pets, don't take them to any Petsmart.

My husband and I are currently working with a private, licensed dog trainer (unaffiliated with PetSmart) and are presently focused on leash training with our 6-month old puppy. After several sessions working on this, the trainer suggested that we try purchasing a choke collar for our next session, just to use in training in the next few sessions and see if it would help our puppy with his leash behavior. The trainer actually recommended PetSmart for their quality of product.

I went to Store #709 in Braintree, MA with my dog and asked an associate for help in finding a collar that would fit him. The associate said she would get the store’s dog trainer, a woman named Pat, to help me with this, as she felt Pat would have better knowledge to do this. I thanked the employee for her help and waited in the aisle for the store's dog trainer, Pat, to assist me.

I do understand how choke collars can be a “hot button” issue and that misuse of them can cause severe physical damage to a dog. This is terrible, and a truly inexcusable way to use the collar. That is why, when I first introduced myself to Pat, I told her the purpose of my buying one so that she would know that I would be using it during training sessions only, and under the watchful eye of a professional. I wanted her to know that I wasn't looking to use it all the time or to misuse it - the tag is even printed with the warning, "For training purposes only," and that's how I was planning on using it. I told her I was buying it based on the suggestion of our dog trainer. Even so, when I told her what I was looking to buy, her expression noticeably fell, and she was markedly colder to me in both voice and manner.

She stopped smiling at me and started giving me shorter, more clipped answers. She began treating me like I was less of a person! She told me that she never used choke collars with her dogs and it's mean. She said that using a choke collar was the same thing as "punching a kid in the face." She then led me to an area of collars and offered me a different kind, saying, “This one would work better, and it’s not as cruel." I told her that I appreciated her input but our trainer had suggested a specific kind of collar and that was the collar I wanted to try.

I asked her about the sizing of the collars but she remained silent. I asked if she was still willing to help me, and she simply said, "Yes." So, I took one collar down from the display and said, “Would this fit my dog?” She responded, “I don’t know, put it on him.” When I did, and remarked that it felt a little loose and asked what she thought, she said only that, “It’s going to choke him.” After a few more minutes of trying to ask a more questions about collar sizing and getting the same unhelpful snide remarks and answers, I finally told her, “I have to be honest with you, I feel like I’m being judged.” Her response was, “Well, yes. You’re choosing the wrong collar.”

When I pointed out to her that I was just trying to help my dog, buying this collar on the recommendation of my dog trainer, and now felt confused and upset in being made to feel poorly by her, another dog trainer, she told me I could come to her training classes if I dropped my current dog trainer. If I was unhappy after the six weeks, she said, I wouldn’t have to pay. What I didn’t say, as I felt like I was dealing with someone who was already mistreating me and wouldn’t be willing to listen to my comments, was that there wasn’t a chance I’d join a class that was taught by someone who was treating me so poorly based on my choice in product - a product sold at the very store she is working in. Instead, I told her no, thanked her for her help (which truly, I never received in the first place,) and walked away to pay for my item.

If she had a personal dislike for choke collars and had other suggestions for me, I would have happily allowed her to make them, however I did not come into PetSmart to be spoken down to and be told I was “wrong” in buying a product.... basically being made to feel like I was mistreating my dog. She could have just as easily politely told me a few reasons why she may prefer other types of collars over that one, made a few suggestions and asked my opinion and then, once I told her that I wasn’t interested in those products, just been courteous in helping me with the one I had originally asked about (whether she agreed with it or not). Instead, her execution of customer assistance was grossly skewed, and her physical and verbal presentation clearly told me that she only felt her opinion was correct, and that I was a terrible pet parent.

If an employee is working at a store that sells a product, and a customer wants to ask questions about or buy that product, then the employee is obliged to help the customer with that product. Of course opinions about that product may differ, which is basic human nature, and other suggestions may be made, but once the customer has made clear that they are still interested in the original product, it is that employee’s job to put their best foot forward and help as much as they can with that same product. It is truly all about the way you present to the customer and how you make them feel. You can't try and make them feel like a bad person based on what they want to buy. Snide comments and rude remarks are unnecessary, unhelpful, and I would imagine probably go against any company's code of ethics and customer treatment policy.

I think what might be the most unbelievable part about it was that when I put into plain words that I felt I was being judged, and that Pat fully agreed with me and said that “well, yes” I was. I was judged by an employee based on a product I was buying out of their own store, and furthermore, this person told me that I was indeed being judged, and I was made to feel ashamed and bad about myself as a pet parent. Especially where I had made it clear at the get-go that I knew the product I was asking about had very mixed reviews in the pet-training world, but that I would be using it as safely as possible with my dog, I feel that the treatment I received was entirely unwarranted.

I left the store that day shaking and quite close to tears after the poor treatment I endured, all based on nothing more than a product I was choosing to buy. I chose to then take the action of calling the store manager, Rachel, who was very kind, apologetic, and said that she would speak to Pat. I very much respect Rachel’s response to me and I appreciate the time she took to speak with me on the phone and validate my feelings of unease. I truly hope she does speak to Pat, and that Pat realizes that she needs to treat customers like human beings and not like they are committing some terrible crime for choosing to purchase a product, even if it's a product Pat doesn't like.

I do not wish for the company to contact me. If the company sees this review and feels they need to contact the store to speak to this particular employee, that is their prerogative. Instead, all I want from this situation is for my story to be on this website so that Braintree, MA customers may see it and be aware of the type of person they may be considering bringing their dog to for training. I can't imagine looking to someone to help me train my dog if they were only going to shut me down and make me feel like garbage once they found out my opinion may differ from theirs.

To be honest, I would not want the company to contact me because I would not want Pat to be able to find out who I am, as she does not present as the kind of person I want knowing anything about me. I feel that, where I was treated so poorly in her store, I don’t know what she may choose to do if she had access to my information and she found out I had complained about her. This is why I would choose not to hear from the company, as I don't know whether or not it would mean she would have access to my name and email address. I do know that I will no longer be shopping at any PetSmart stores, nor will my family and friends, my trainer, or his family and friends. My trainer will also stop recommending the store to his clients.

DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PET HERE! My dog was cut deep and needed stitches! I took my Yorkshire, my baby, to the PetSmart in Calverton (Cherry Hill Rd/ Silver Spring) on May 25, 2016 for a bath and hair cut. About 45 minutes after dropping her off someone called from the store in a panic. She explained she accidentally cut my baby and that she would need stitches. The recovery process has been agonizing for my family. She is forced to wear the cone on her head and will not eat, drink, or relieve herself with it on. The hospital instructed us to keep it on her for two weeks so that she would not bother the wound. She is miserable. She use to be so happy.

THE WORST PART OF ALL OF THIS is that nobody in that store bothered to follow up and show concern. I thought sure I'd get a coupon for at least a free bath and hair cut. The inexperienced girl that cut my dog didn't finish so my poor baby looks ridiculous right now. Surely they had to know because of her accident the service was not completed. I believe that she deserves a free a bath and hair cut every other month for the next year! But a courtesy call and a coupon for the service we came in that day for would have been a minimum. Instead, nothing! If you love your pet DO NOT bring them to that PetSmart. The staff is untrained and unconcerned for your animal.

After 9 days I called their customer service line to let them know of my disappointment. The next day Alena, the store manager, called me to offer me 15% off a purchase in the store. I almost lost it. So you slice my baby up and think I'm coming back to spend more money in that place to save a lousy 15%??? What kind of manager would even think of calling me after all we have been through to offer me a discount on products in the store??? DO NOT GO THERE! You have been warned. It could have been worse. There have been tons more accidents. As stunned as I was, imagine finding out your dog has been killed in the care! I feel so bad for casually handing over my dog to a stranger, and leaving her there to be injured. She must have been so scared.

I was informed that the package was damaged during shipment and that they do not inform the customer that they will not be receiving their order. No attempt was made to right the wrong. I am in desperate need of the items ordered. If a package is damaged I would think that they would overnight another shipment. I cannot believe the order is just not shipped and I was never informed. If I was informed I could have went elsewhere but now they left me out of pet supplies after waiting 10 days with no word from them. I will never order or go to their store again and I will tell everyone I know not to deal with them because they are not reliable and do not try to make good on their mistakes.

Talked to three rep - Andrew, Branda and Mike who were all in Wisconsin and one lady in the Philippines. None of them knew what the "Exclusions Lists" were. Instead, they offered me a 10% discount on items I wanted. This is a case of False Advertisement. I then called their corporate office in Arizona but got recorded messages - no real human beings that led me back to Wisconsin customer services. Round and round and round. I am giving up on Petsmart. I think I am changing the dog food for my 5 babies from Hills Silence Diet at Petsmart which are so expensive to Costco brands.

She began with diarrhea and just not feeling well. Took her to her Vet, come to find out, she contracted GIARDIA!!! After $167.00 to the vet, $7.00+ on the cat grass and all the gas and time, I was out $200 just from the grass. Other pet owners advised the same thing, they bought cat grass from PetSmart and their cats ended up with a horrible intestinal bacterial issue GIARDIA! PetSmart should not be selling this unless they are willing to pay these bills.

My appointment was at 11:30, so I was there at 11:20 and was told my groomer had just left to lunch. My puppy is still getting her shots, also at PetSmart with Banfield and cannot be kenneled quite yet and I was assured that was okay, just like it was the first time I brought her. The groomer shows up at 11:45, then I'm told it's an extra cost to me because it's now considered an "express".

Frustrated after waiting, I agree to have it done after coming and waiting all that time. I drop her off and can still hear the "manager" and groomer talking about me! It's a completely unprofessional environment, dirty, the girls are out front smoking every 20 minutes or eating or talking about their customers. I paid 38.99 for nothing! My puppy is matted and I'm taking her elsewhere tomorrow to a clean, professional environment. I will never stepping foot in that PetSmart or any PetSmart for that matter to purpose anything or get any services provided. I don't go into PetSmart much anymore but bad people and ripping off the customer to no wonder the store is empty inside there. I could not believe my eyes... my dog was TERRIFIED, shaking with fear and BRIGHT BRIGHT RED. She looked like she had been burned. She was red and no fur. The groomer scalped my dog. I took her home she started getting BLOOD spots all over the body first a few then she was covered with deep red blood clots under her skin.. I took my dog to the vet he treated her said she was scalped and she was bleeding under her skin! A HORROR to see what they did to my dog. The vet said "Leave her here because if you take her home she may bleed to death at night." so I left her there. He did everything he could but she died about 3 weeks later. I WAS SHATTERED. THIS WAS MY BABY!!

I called them to see if they would at least apologize. They were horrible. I called corporate offices. Nobody would speak to me or return my calls. WARNING! PLEASE READ! I would like to let everyone know to stay away from the Petsmart groomers! I brought my yorkie to Petsmart in Milbury Ma for a simple puppy cut. Dropped him off with Jennifer. Went back 2 hours later but was told I can't pick him up because his type of breed needs to air dry. (I knew that was a lie.) I was informed to come back in a few more hours. (Another red flag.) I also noticed that dogs that came well after him were done. 4 hours later I go to get him and was approached by the store manager.

He proceeded to let me know that the groomer had cut my dogs ear with her scissors. I was also told that it wasn't that bad and happens very rarely but they had to take him over to their vet so they could liquid adhesive it back together and used silver nitrate to stop the bleeding. She brought him from out back finally and finished his face. She brought him back to me and the entire time tried to blame my dog for jumping around. Um my dog is little and 6 years old. He is super calm and never moves around when I'm trimming his bangs... etc.

My dog's ear is now permanently cut in half. They lied to my face for 4 hours. They never once called either of us to let us know what was going on. They sent us away multiple times to buy themselves time to stop the bleeding. They brought him to their vet (not mine) without my permission. My dog is now traumatized and won't let me near his head. The manager did nothing about the employee and let her continue working on my dog and others. They lied about him having tangles in his hair (I brush his hair daily) in order to save time and shave him instead of doing the cut I asked for. They kept him alone in a cage for 4 hours. When we left he had to go so bad he couldn't hold and he was peeing literally as he was walking out of the store. They wouldn't even let me see my dog the while 4 hours they were trying to avoid us.

These people are the worst. They are liars and extremely deceptive and will clearly do whatever to cover their **. Please! If you love your dog DO NOT bring them to these groomers. I am not done and will be contacting corporate this weekend. She is not fit to be a groomer and they need to pay for what they did to my yorkie! At least fire the one who did this!

My daughter wanted a guinea pig and about a week at home he started with a running nose. We took him back to Petsmart and they said he had a cold. They were going to take him to see the vet make sure he was ok. By this time my daughter was so in love with her little pet that it hurt her so much. She called everyday to see how he was doing. Well they said that they were going to keep him for a week with antibiotics, we said ok. Then she was told that they were not going to release him for an additional 10 days. She did not know why.

They called me on a Sat afternoon only to tell us that they found some cyst and that they were going to take him back to the vet. They wanted to find out if we wanted them removed. I said yes, they never said they were tumors. Turns out that they sold us a pet with 4 tumors on his neck. They removed them. We went to see him and he looked ok except the fact that they did not tell us that his skin was going to also be cut off. When we seen him his teeth were showing and he was eating.

Later on that night, he died. Received the call to tell us that he was gone, that he did not survive overnight, that he was dead. They told us that they would refund us the money. But the moral of this story, who will help her with her emotional heartache? She is so sad she misses him so much. They told her that they would let her adopt another one at no charge. She said that will not replace needles. It is said they are allowed to continue this. They should make sure the animals are not sick because kids grow to love their pets very quickly and they hurt long after the refund. The pain doesn't go away.

My beautiful Yorkie was with me for 7 years. His name was Pepe. And...lemme tell you, he was my best friend. We were extremely close down to where I didn't even let him sleep in his bed because he always slept with me every night. He had the same relationship with my father. My father literally cooked him breakfast everyday on the stove. He was a very healthy dog, very strong. On April 23, 2016 we decided that my dog needed to get groomed. So we took him to the local Petsmart in Millville, New Jersey for a full grooming service. We then picked him up that day but something wasn't right. On the report, it said that he received an oatmeal bath at the end. But that wasn't the case, he was still full of hair. And usually the local Petsmart puts a bandana around his neck as a sign of completion and as a souvenir. There was no bandana. Those were signs that something wasn't right. So we picked him up and took him home.

That's when we knew that something was seriously wrong. He was barely able to walk. He was limping from his two front legs every time he tried moving. 2 days later, it was increasingly difficult for Pepe to walk and eat. He was also shaking with a fever of 103 degrees. He also had shortness of breath and had an extremely lacking appetite. Things that he had never experienced since the very day he was born. So we took him to the vet and she treated him with steroids and fluids and blood work showed that he had a decrease in platelet count. Pepe has never ever experienced a problem related with his blood. He was then sent home with medications but unfortunately his health was only going downhill. He then was taken to the vet again 5 days later. The vet had told us that his platelet count was extremely low at a dangerous level.

Pepe was not able to walk, he vomited everything he ate, we started to feed him by hand, and was getting very very lethargic. The vet treated him with for steroids and fluids and sent Pepe home. Soon, Pepe was starting to get red spots all over him. Most notably on his belly and his genital area. Unfortunately, when I finished getting ready for school, I discovered my beloved Pepe dead on May 4, 2016 that morning at 7:00 am. I was going to let him out of the house to use the bathroom but when I picked him up, he was lifeless. I absolutely lost it. I freaked out. I screamed my heart out discovering my beautiful friend and family was dead. That moment that I touched him, that's the last bit of body warmth he had left. Every time we took Pepe to the vet only to see that his health was declining, we reported it to Petsmart but they never even thought of contacting us back.

The autopsy revealed what we had suspected, Pepe died from internal bleeding which overwhelmingly confirmed that he had suffered from trauma. His entire blood supply was in his stomach. The necropsy report was taken to Petsmart and they were supposed to contact us but they never did anyway. We went to Petsmart to bring that report to the manager, and he was full of fear. The groomer that serviced my dog, wasn't even there. They didn't call us ever, they didn't even offer a refund. They are heartless. I highly advise anyone seeing this writing, DO NOT trust anyone working on your beloved pet when you are not there. I didn't think this would happen to my family but it did. Petsmart did not take responsibility and did not tell us what happened or notify us about any problems they had with my Pepe. My best friend who I napped with everyday after school on the sofa is no longer here because he was killed by those monsters.

We have video proof that his health was perfect before we took him to Petsmart. The video was taken 5 days prior the servicing. So something definitely happened at Petsmart which ultimately led to my beautiful friend passing away. At the time of this writing, no justice has been yet served. Petsmart has yet to call us. Do yourself a favor, and groom your pet yourself, even if it comes out ugly. But that wouldn't matter because at least your know your dog is safe.

In Orlando stores price is ALWAYS $35-40 my friends dogs that are bigger Yorkie-poo and cavalier poodle mix. In Fort Lauderdale off Federal Highway, puppy cuts are suppose to be $15! When my Morkie was 4 months old (you shouldn't take dogs to grooming till after it's had all the shots which is 4 months) they wanted to charge $30! This never happened with any of my pets in Melbourne, Fl.

Now that my Morkie is 6 months old it's now $47 at the store in Coral Springs! Puppy cuts are such a hoax! They say they only do puppy cuts up to 6 months so your window to get one done is literally a month in a half. I'd rather give my business to Petco in South Florida since PetSmart is so very inconsistent. Then I was informed that each store is run different! My husband and I went on vacation April 26-28, 2016. We have a 7 month old orange tabby named Leo. That Tuesday, we dropped him off at PetsHotel and then went on vacation. Wednesday, I received a phone call from PetsHotel that Leo was not pooping. The woman said that the cat was being played with 2-3 times at 15 minutes a play period. She suggested wet cat food, which I approved but said she had to give him kitten food. Three hours later, I get a phone call from Banfield hospital, which is connected to PetsHotel saying that Leo had an enema. This was news to me. But they said he was doing fine and eating.

Thursday, we came home and unpacked. We went to pick up Leo around 1PM. It was slightly dark back where the kitty cottages were located. I saw Leo and picked him up and put him in the cat carrier. We went home and I released the carrier gate and picked up Leo and immediately saw his backside. He was covered in feces along with his tail and both back feet.

We immediately took him to the sink and filled it with warm water and dish soap. I washed him off in the affected areas and smelled him. He still smelled and we proceeded to wash him again with clean water and shampoo. That did the trick. I dried Leo off and he proceeded to clean himself. His backside was slightly red around the area where the enema was given. The more I thought about what happened to Leo, the madder I became.

Friday, April 29th, I called PetSmart corporate number and filed a complaint. On Saturday, the store's assistant manager called and wanted to talk about the issue and said she would call back on Monday, May 2nd. On Sunday, May 1st, my husband and I went to PetSmart and talked to the store manager and asked why it was a requirement for cats to poop. She showed me a list that requires the workers at PetsHotel to monitor the cat and if it doesn't poop, he goes over to Banfield Hospital to be checked.

I told her that after the enema, Leo was sitting in his own poop for about 24 hours. She apologized for that and offer a free toy, free grooming services, etc. All of which I turned down. I'm writing this to warn people of PetsHotel policies and never sign an agreement until one has talked to them. This was a very traumatic experience for Leo and it took a couple of days before he was his usual self. I fault Banfield Hospital and PetsHotel for what happened to Leo.

The last time we took her there were several quarter sized areas where Callie's skin was visible and her tail was bent and broken. I was livid. When they were called about this, we were to let them know Callie needed special attention from now on. Again. My dog's tail was bent and broken! Nothing could be done about her tail. It took over a year before it healed. They (PetSmart) obviously caught her tail in something. Do you know how much pain my sweet dog suffered? First I will post the email I sent to Petsmart: "Bought a large litter box made by Whisker City from Petsmart a long while ago. It broke which I incorrectly assumed was human error. I ate the $30 cost and bought a new one which is the one in question for return. I bought this sometime in the latter half of last year and I do not have a receipt for it, but I did use my PetPerks number and I still have the same Visa card that I used to buy it. Before I made a trip in to return it I emailed Petsmart Customer Care to make sure I could do so. My time and my gas are both valuable. In the first email I am told "PetSmart guarantees the quality of our products" and "If you do not have your original receipt, you will receive a merchandise return card or product exchange only."

I was fine with that solution as one bag of dog food alone will eat up the cost and then some of the merchandise return card. I also followed the hyperlink to Petsmart's website to review what is comically titled "No-Hassle Return Policy". Following the link titled: "Returning Products Purchased at a PetSmart Store"

and then going to the section "Returns or Exchanges Without a Receipt or With a Receipt Older Than 60 Days it states": "Bring the product and a valid ID to any store and a merchandise return card for the most recent sale amount will be issued. If making an exchange, any positive balance will be refunded in the original form of tender."

It does not state anything about returns or exchanges without a receipt AND older than 60 days, but the combination of No-Hassle Return and the guarantee of quality misled me to believe Petsmart would care about the return. It does reiterate the aforementioned merchandised return card. I never wanted an exchange as two broken in a row tells me the brand is junk. I made a special trip out last night at around 7 p.m. to return it and spoke with Paula. She said she was just a shift lead and could not authorize the return. I would have to speak with Mickey the store manager. We aren't talking hundreds of dollars, it was a broken $30 litter box that I had in hand and is still currently being sold so prices could be referenced. Nevertheless I wasted a trip out and back still with a broken litter box and no refund.

I got off work early enough the very next day from Cincinnati and made a special trip in to speak with Mickey. A bit of background on me - I worked 7 & 1/2 years at a Kroger - I know customer service very well and she exemplified the opposite of everything one would look for in that department. She flat out refused a refund, slightly shaking her head no the whole time I spoke with her. When I told her I had the email from Petsmart Customer Care and the copy of the return policy in my car and that I could go get it she said "You can but it won't change anything, I am still not going to give you a refund." She also stated it has to be in returnable or salable condition.

So if something is broke how are you ever supposed to return it? I can understand if a collar didn't fit right, a lease was too short, or the dog didn't like the bed but most returns I have ever had to make were due to a defective or outright broken product which by definition is not in salable condition. Referencing those aforementioned products I have never had any issues with any other retailer in the tristate area. Petsmart and their No Hassle Return policy is the only one to give me troubles. The litter box is cheap plastic and breaks when the cats enter and exit on the same corner as where the first one broke."

After that email was sent I received an email stating someone would contact me in 1-2 business days. I received that email Saturday. Wednesday night (3rd day) Paula contacted me. She reiterated there is nothing that the store can do. I have no qualms with Paula, she was a nice person to speak with but bound by a terrible return policy and the store manager made no efforts to put the customer first. Some talking points I brought up-this litter box made by Whisker City is EXCLUSIVE to Petsmart.

It is essentially a Petsmart brand (think Kroger value brand). That is what makes this even funnier: it is basically a Petsmart product and they won't honor it. I also asked what they do when someone brings a broken or unsalable item in for return as that does not meet their definition of a returnable item. "They are working through that". Paula recommended me to contact the manufacturer who is, unsurprisingly, impossible to find contact info other than Petsmart. The label on the new boxes they are made in China and distributed by Pacific Coast from Arizona. A quick google search in effort to find info regarding the manufacturer brings this up: "Our founders, Jim and Janice Dougherty, incorporate their pet superstore concept as Pacific Coast Distributing, Inc. in 1986." From the Petsmart website. I am done with this terrible company. $60 in the hole. I will spend my money where I am treated better.

I bought 4 angelfish in two weeks time ($8.99 each). Three have died and were returned. They all had ich and contaminated my tank. The last angel is covered in a yucky white film and little white spots. My gouramis now have bloody fins and are bumping against the tank to scratch themselves. I am still treating my tank with aquarium salt and frequent water changes.

When I went back to get a refund, their fish were sick. The worker was still selling fish to other customers but told me she didn't want to sell me any because the tanks needed to be treated. On that day, the tanks were disgusting. The worker admitted that the fishes had ich and that the filtration system runs through all the tanks and needed to be medicated. If you see dead or diseased fish at this store, chances are ALL of the fishes are contaminated. You have 14 days to return them. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! This is far from Pet"Smart".

I reluctantly returned to PetSmart to get my dog groomed. I had two bad experiences with PetSmart, but one was at a different location (kennel cough) and the other was a specific groomer (cut BOTH of my dog's ears). So I made the appointment online. Times available were 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00. I arrived at 5 to 7. Another woman was there with her dog and her dog was promptly taken care of and on the table for grooming immediately. I was told "somehow my dog was booked with a St. Bernard". I'm not sure what that meant but said "As long as I can pick him up by 10:30 that was fine." Her response was "Well, that's not going to happen." That was 3 1/2 hours after I booked my time! I took the morning off from a very busy job to get this done. Never again, and will advise everyone to avoid PetSmart!

Doggy day care - It seems making an appointment means nothing at the Langhorne PA store. I have a standing appointment for my French bulldog every Wednesday but if they are busy and have too many dogs they just put your dog in a cage and shuffle the dogs between the playroom and a cage. Wouldn't it be more practical to only take as many dogs that will fit in the care room, and then tell people they are full. The clerk told us the manager tells them to take as many dogs as possible appointment or not. What a way to run a business. They won't get my business anymore.

About 3 days later my whole tank is covered in fin rot + yes + ick!!! Go into the store with receipt and they said they couldn't do anything and they recommend the all in 1 cure. I laughed and told them their tanks had it too. We argued back and forth. Showed them the shark tank - 3 tanks down from where I got my fish. All she had to say was "oh" and still said they can't do anything for me. 1 day later I had lost 6 tetras, 8 angels, 2 bala sharks, 2 rainbow sharks, 1 blue gourami and a candy cane tetra. Thanks a whole lot for doing nothing at all about it. This is the second time this has happened to me from the same store! I swear I will never shop there and I'm telling everyone else not to as well!!! Let's total all that up for everyone here- that's a total of 134.97 without hst and gst.

I purchased a "Top Paw Dog Bed" orthopedic (code 73725724092) Extra Large at the Wilton Store in Saratoga NY. The product tag as well as the shelf tag both said this bed was 36X48X6 inches. I paid a healthy price for it! When I got it home, I saw it was notably smaller than the old one (also bought at Petsmart). My arthritic dog was hanging off the end of it. I measured it and found it was only 36X45X4 inches.

I called the store and explained the problem. The Petsmart woman employee went back to the shelf while on the phone and found the dog beds, verifying the advertised measurements. However, she was unwilling to order the correct size bed for me and unwilling to adjust the price of this bed, which was smaller than advertised. She kept interrupting me and dancing around the problem, implying that this was not Petsmart's fault or problem (False advertising is not their problem?). The only recourse offered to me was to make a 20-mile round-trip back to the store and stand in line for a refund.

Told her "nothing, I have no use for it anymore because I have no fish in the tank I placed the decoration in". She continued for about 2 minutes trying to interrogate me asking me about 5 questions for why I want a refund. I kept telling her why and then she went to speak with the manager.

#HoboIsMissing - My family member, Hobo, is missing. She has been sold to another unsuspecting customer because of the negligence, irresponsibility, lies and incorrect information given to me by the management of the Bloomington Indiana PetSmart. This morning I had the chance to speak with David **, the store's manager about the situation with my lost guinea pig, Hobo. My pet is MISSING. I can't say that David did or said anything that truly helped the situation. He told me that both his customer service manager Carie and manager April ** had cause to lie to me. David explained to me that Carie lied to me because she was trying to doing me a favor by breaking store policy and telling me that they would hold my returned pet and I would be able to claim her once she was healthy again. Had I known the truth of the situation and the policies set by PetSmart, I would have never allowed her to be returned to the store.

David also said that Carie had attempted to contact me this past Thursday and left a voicemail message for me letting me know I could pick up my pet. I never received a call, nor did I receive a voicemail. When I asked that he check his facts and pull the detailed phone report so he could see that I was never called he told me that Carie had no reason to lie. This is the same Carie he said was trying to do me a favor by lying to me. I'm sorry. You can't tell me she was helping me in once since by lying and then try and convince me that she has no reason to lie about a situation. Either you are, or you are not a liar. Once you lie everything you say is in question. There is no good or helpful lie.

David and I also spoke about interactions with April ** (another manager in the Bloomington store) and her conduct during the situation when I was informed that the store had sold me pet to someone else. He told me that April had EVERY reason to lie because our situation had been escalated to the corporate level and she wouldn't want to get in trouble. I'm left asking myself what kind of people does this store employ?

I'll add another layer of bizarreness to this story. Nearly 2 weeks ago now, on a Friday night I called the store to inquire about symptoms Hobo was having and the policy on sick pets that were sold. When I called I asked to speak with a manager, the man who answered the phone, Kyle, assured me that he was a manager and that there would be no issue with the same guinea pig being returned to me.

The next day Chris and I went in the store to purchase pet supplies. While we were in the store we stopped to look at the piggies in the display and noticed one of them seemed to be hurt. I stopped a man wearing a name tag that said Kyle and I asked if he worked there. This was also the same man I saw standing behind the #3 register as we walked into the store. He said that he did work there and asked how he could help me. I pointed out the issue and he assured me that someone would take a look at her. When I went back into the store this past Saturday to check on Hobo and what the vet said about her, I noticed Kyle standing back in the grooming area of the store back behind the glass doors.

Now, here is where things really get bizarre. When speaking with David, the store manager, he informed me that they do not have a manager named Kyle. They don't even have an employee named Kyle in the store. At this point I was rather concerned because this person was answering the store phone and tending to the floor as a manager. I told him to check his store surveillance tapes and I gave a rather detailed description of the person, only to be told they don't have security cameras in the store.

Bottom line, this store's employees have no issue lying to you about the health, care and policies regarding your pets care, but they also allow random people to stand behind registers, answer phones and tend to customers. I will never spend another cent in this, or any other PetSmart, store location. I will also try and prevent any other person I know from using PetSmart. They have lied to me, condoned the lies that prevented me from knowing the facts about the care of my guinea pig and then they sold her to another family. They have also refused to contact the people who purchased her and explain their screw up. I have received absolutely no help from management on any level in regards to getting my family member back.

I have a American Terrier (Pet Bull) that's a year and a half. I brought him into the room and boarding on Briarforest (Houston, Tx) Friday morning and picked him up Monday morning at 7am. The little girl called me Saturday saying he didn't want to get back in his crate and they can't put or make him go back in. When I got home he pooped in my truck. I stay 5-7 minutes away and as soon as he got out he urinated seems like forever. So we are going up the stairs and I noticed his testicles are red and scaly. I got him inside and took a look and he don't have two testicles, he had one. That's how swollen it was, it was irritated, purple, and peeling. Not only that he also had a bruised lip, he smelled like pee. I took him to a vet and the outcome was that they let him sit in his own pee (bacteria).

I went back to PetSmart, showed the assistant manager the pictures and was told his testicles was like that because of this solution they use to clean but they put pads down to prevent that. I asked him, "if that's so what happened". His response was "I don't know". He stated "usually if you bring your invoice in we reimburse you", so he talks to a manager and he told him to refund me the room and board ONLY. I asked about the vet bill and he stated I can't get refunded for that because I didn't go to banfield.

The two YOUNG girls/whoever else that didn't take care of my dog was very inexperience. And need to say one of the little young one's wrote a note that I read myself because it was on the counter where everyone could've read and she said I recommend that he not come back. All this because he didn't want to go back into his crate. I will most definitely be suing for neglect. My dog had to get his testicles scrubbed and is on pain medicine/antibiotics.

We left our two 20-25 lb. babies at The PetSmart Pet Hotel for a little over a day while we were up in Huntington Beach California for a two day vacation. First off, the associate working the hotel desk was very rude, forgetful, and complained about being at work. In addition she forgot to pass along important pet information concerning their Doggie Day Care, forcing another associate to run to my vehicle while driving off in order for me to sign more documents.

Within a few hours of leaving our babies we received a call from PetSmart telling us about the extra costs for doggie day care because they forgot to tell us it wasn't included and they hadn't had us fill out that paperwork either. We were called 2 more times within an 8 hour period explaining other items that they forgot to explain to us concerning care of our pets. After restating that one of our dogs is blind in one eye and the other suffers from slight separation anxiety and that the later dog needs "her" dog bed and blanket that we specifically left for her so that she feels safe, We were told that both had been removed for "cleaning" and a rough-like pad put in its place. I restated that we explicitly left the bed and blanket for her and that it was inappropriate for them to remove it.

A few hours later we received a call that our God which needed the blanket and bed had "rubbed herself raw" and had to be taken to the vet for an examination because there was an open wound and swelling around her genitals. We rushed there as soon as we could (from San Diego) and our dog was still at the vet -- WITHOUT HER BED and BLANKET.

We learned from the Pet Hotel Manager Mellissa that the girl who worked the day before had to be sent home home shortly after we dropped off our girls because of her attitude at work. We then picked up our one dog who was still at the hotel and noticed that the earring bling that PetSmart had placed on her a few weeks earlier during a normal grooming, had been ripped off her ears. These earrings were affixed very good and hadn't even come loose -- and we live on an acre of land where she played a lot. We could see where the hair had been torn on her ears where the earrings used to be. It is important to note that nothing was told us concerning the earrings when we dropped Camper off and the associate even commented on how "cute they were."

We then walked over to the Banfield Pet Hospital located within that PetSmart to retrieve our other dog, R-Vee. Earlier on the phone the Vet had told us that R-Vee needed her anus evacuated due to it being impacted and they wanted a urine and blood test done. I declined because I didn't want them touching R-Vee anymore and would address any issues with our primary Vet. Upon arriving to get R-Vee, the Vet explained that there was severe swelling and bleeding from her private area up to her anus.

After inspecting R-Vee ourselves we could see the extent of her condition and it was unbelievable!!! She couldn't walk, sit, and was whimpering constantly. She was in a lot of pain and the swelling was so profound that the Vet should of been much more forthcoming on the phone as R-Vee need serious medical help!! I agreed to let them evacuate her medically at that time as the Vet said that was the main issue.

After arriving home later that evening we inspected R-Vee in detail and noticed that it was her anus that was swollen, but just her private area and her ulna was ripped. This can only happen if a larger dog had rapped her. When we had talked to PetSmart on the phone much earlier, they had explained that in order for R-Vee to use the doggie daycare we had to give consent and the paperwork had not been filled out (as I explained earlier). However, when I left the location after register both Camper and R-Vee, both were already in doggie day camp with about 15 other dogs of all sizes. So I know for a fact that our babies were in there before the first call many hours later.

I plan on bring charges and action against the Huntington Beach PetSmart for negligence and covering up what really happened to R-Vee during her stay at doggie day camp where the employees are supposed to watch the dogs carefully. It is clear that R-Vee was rapped and that all the issues spanning from that encounter caused her trauma. I will also take action against Banfield Pet Hospital because they also must have know what happened as R-Vee was admitted without our consent. To blame their negligence on an impacted anus so as to protect themselves is unconscionable and delayed any real medical attention R-Vee needed ASAP.

In summary, we bring our babies everywhere with us and they have been boarded at many different places from Disneyland to Vet Hospitals who specialize in boarding. We have never had issues. Before boarding your pets at PetSmart Pet Hotels please check to make sure there are plenty of employees working to protect your dog and that the staff know what they're doing. Do an Internet check for reviews, etc. Better yet, Do NOT USE PetSmart!!! We will never again.

I have been shopping at my two local PetSmarts bi-weekly for 6 years checking out sales in aquatics, comparing prices from online and from the two PetSmarts closest to me. The prices are all different. The local ad and flyer don't give necessary information for the products posted such as all the species/products available for the sale, especially when certain regular species are never posted on the website. Sale items are very limited now, showing multiple strains of the same fish. This leads to having to call and personally ask what's in stock after being put on hold, and again I have stopped in the same day only to find out I was lied to and when I confront them about it, it turns out they didn't understand what species I was asking for, which they should have asked me again, said they didn't understand me or should have asked for assistance.

They don't list all the live plants regularly stocked. I have been sold plain leaves clipped off a Java Fern rhizome tied in black string and placed in their store brand tube. I filed a corporate complaint saying it was misleading because it wasn't the actual plant, was e-mailed back asking for more information and what I thought should be brought to attention. Once that information was provided I never heard anything back. These two locations don't sell certain products listed on the website such as sand substrate because it's just too messy as they have said while they turn around and suggest keeping sand as a substrate for certain plants.

An unknowledgeable employee tried selling me a chemical for an issue I had that I knew wasn't going to help. I needed a fish medication and she tried selling me aquarium bacteria. This last week I checked out the livestock that was just shipped in two days before my visit and there were 5 tanks with fish that had clamped fins and 3 tanks with ich. Their prices are gradually rising. Quality of fish and variety are diminishing.

Overall quality of services are growing disappointing, lack of fundamental knowledge is in short. Employee interaction all depends on who is working that shift. I have to politely badger them with questions to get some sort of an answer. I feel as if the basics are missing in all aspects. While sometimes their sales are pretty good, I feel as if these two stores are just becoming a headache for me and I will mostly shop elsewhere, especially for livestock where I can get greater variety, special order fish and get treated like a valued customer.

Purchased puppy at PetSmart on Saturday March 5th. They had a litter of 9 puppies that just came in from Dallas Animal Services. Everything went well through the adoption process. Puppy was $85 and then with of the things needed to bring him home we were all in around $400. Again, not too bad. Had coupons for most of the items we need that were supplied upon adoption along with a free bag of food. Once we were heading home, the puppy started having severe gas. We all joked on the way home not realizing that there may be something potentially wrong. The ride home was about 40 minutes. Once we were home, we walked the pup outside to allow for him to do his business. The pup had diarrhea but we thought this was just him adjusting to his food as the care person at Petco stated he was giving the pups wet and dry food mix.

Over the course of the next two days, puppy seemed very mellow and slept quite a bit. Did not think anything unusual, even thought we had a great little pup as he was very calm. On Monday evening March 7th, puppy vomited on his bed, then continued to vomit every 10-15 minutes. After several episodes, we called the Vet for some direction. They suggested bringing him in. They suggested a Parvovirus test which immediately became positive even before the test was completed. We were transferred to a 24-hour emergency clinic where the puppy is now undergoing care which is ultimately not guaranteed that he will survive. After all said and done, we are approximately $2,700 invested in this puppy's life, which could result in higher costs if the puppy does not react to his treatments.

My five-year-old son is devastated, who has been patiently waiting for his forever friend for the past year and only had two brief days with his buddy Max. Not sure what I am going to tell him if the pup does not survive. What really made me angry, I called PetSmart to report this very contagious virus to inform them that other puppies in the litter and any other puppy that is brought into the facility can catch this virus as it is very difficult to kill the virus even with the strongest of cleaners and could last for several months regardless of weather conditions. The response I received was, "Oh, thanks for letting us know." Associate did not ask for the pup's ID number, when I purchased the pup or anything to help him identify the root of the problem. So, adopters beware, maybe not the best place to adopt. Lastly these pups were actually transferred from Dallas Animal Services. I am going to be reaching out to them as well to inform them of the issue.

We always go to PetSmart for our dogs' nail trimming. We love the techs there and they know us. We have two pugs - 6 yr and 1.5 yr old. Our dogs don't mind going for nail trims and it is typically quick and easy. We took our dogs on Saturday and a girl we hadn't seen before was called from the back to do our dog's nails. I asked if the regular tech was there but it was her day off, no big deal, it's just nails. The girl handled our dog very aggressively and he was scared from the start. When he was on the table she wasn't holding our dog, just his paw, which I thought was strange but didn't really give it much thought since I'm not a tech.

Our dog was whining like he was being hurt the entire time which was unsettling. At one point the tech turned around to grab something and our dog slid off the table, hanging himself by the leash/restraint they use. I was horrified. She grabbed our dog and placed him back on the table. I didn't know what to do. I was watching from outside and worried about upsetting the other dogs if I went in there because I was so shaken by this. I went to the front and asked for a manager. The manager handled it well, doing our next dog's nails herself and refunded us the cost of the nail trimming but I'm still so upset this ever happened in the first place.

Usually they keep my dog, a pitbull and shar pei mix, for one hour and when I get her she smells and looks great. This last time they kept her for two hours and she didn't smell like they bathed her. She was overly shedding confirming my suspicion that they kept her kenneled for two hours and then called me to tell me she was done. A shedding dog right after she was just bathed should not be able to turn a black seat blond on the way home. If the groomer has an issue with a particular breed then they should tell you when you schedule.

When I picked them up yesterday I found it very strange that both of my dogs had to pee for an extended period of time, much longer than usual. Also, right away 1 of them had to poo too!! I asked the next morning when I took them in about going out and was told that it was possible depending on where they were located inside that they may have never made it into the rotation.

WELL today when I picked them up from doggie daycare, I asked about them going out and found out a completely different story. I was told that the time 7am which I bring them and after 5pm when I pick them up, that they would more than likely not being taken out at all. I was told that if I wanted them to be taken out and have a private play time which I could pay for at $2.00 each, they would be taken into a room for play. I'm really upset and consider notifying SPCA and anybody else it takes to get this fixed. Essentially I'm paying good money, I'm bringing their food and bottled water, handing them over to people who really don't care if their bladders are about to burst, since they are NEVER taken out of their room. I was also told that if they needed to go potty they could go in their room. Just what I want is my dogs sitting in their own pee and stool.

I drop my dog off at 9am and was told I can arrive in four hours and he will be complete. Four hours pass and I decided to arrive back to see what's going on. In doing so I saw the groomer walking out with King my baby boy. When she gave him to me he seem a little shaken up in which I thought was from him being shaved. I brought him home and departed for work. When my daughter arrive from school she stated "Mommy, King is crying a lot. Something is wrong with him." I then said to her "Monitor him to see if maybe his nails were cut too low or of some sort."

When I arrive home he was in horrible pain till he urinated on himself every time I touch his back leg. I did not sleep due to the amount of pain he was in. I was extremely upset and cried because I did not know how to fix what happened into the groomers had that day. I then got up in the AM and spoke to a manager who advise me to bring him to Banfield Hospital that is connected to the store and they took care of the bill which was over $500 dollars.

When I receive King back he still has issue with his spine and the Vet informed me it will take twenty fours hours to find out what's really going on so another day my dog is in horrible pain and the only thing I was given is twenty syringes of pain medication that he needs to receive every night and day. Writing this review brings tears to my eyes because my dog was normal when I drop him off and now I'm dealing with this... PLEASE BE CAREFUL with having your dog brought the on Pembroke Pines... I don't know what this groomer did but now my dog is traumatized. :(

No dogs were getting groomed or anything. Still, I decided to go with it, and leave. On Monday, I went to PetSmart again to get my puppy groomed. When I got there, they said that they were still full, but their whole grooming salon again, was still empty! So, I made a appointment for Wednesday. Just now, I got a call that said that they were overbooked, and our appointment was canceled. I was pretty sure that someone else scheduled after us, because he already scheduled us and told that we were good to go. I will not go to PetSmart anymore. They have lost my trust.

I feel so bad I didn't check reviews before taking my husky to PetSmart for grooming... The first experience was great, she looked great, was happy it felt fine. I wish I had remembered the groomer's name. The second time she got a bad yeast infection in her ear from the vet saying they probably didn't dry them well enough. The third time I had to pick her up about an hour after I could and as we were walking out she had diarrhea IN the store and outside right after grooming. I called the next day to see if they gave her a treat (which I ask them not too) or if they took her out. They said they definitely did not give her a treat and it's not typical for them to take the dogs out to relieve themselves that's why they give a pickup time. REALLY! Needless to say I will NEVER go back to PetSmart for grooming. I would rather pay more money for someone to care about my dog the way I do.

I can't kill 4 hours in your store buying toys, clothes and food & tick meds. So I had to cancel and I won't be back to the store for grooming and or purchases. No more shopping in your store for 2 hours every 6 weeks. They should call and cancel an appointment when they get overbooked. They were very rude about it. Said they have the option to take 4 hours. I first took my 12 week old Yorkshire puppy to PetSmart for his first grooming. About an hour later I got a call from the groomer. She told me she stabbed in him the mouth accidentally and he was being seen at their vet. I rushed over there and he was injured but not too severely. So we didn't go back of course. About 5 years later I figured there was a change in staff and he was older and used to other groomers, so I'd try PetSmart again since they are right across the street.

So upon scheduling his grooming I reminded them of what he had been through before and they assigned the grooming manager to groom him. When I picked him up and took him home he couldn't open his left eye, she had scratched it severely. So I took him to their vet and got a refund, and they paid for his pain meds and his eye antibiotics. They showed no compassion and didn't even say they were sorry. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO PETSMART. So, I went to pick up my cats a little before 3 in the afternoon. When I was there, I was told 1 was drying and the other 2 are not done anything yet. I waited until 3:15 and was still told 2 hadn't started to be washed yet. When I got a call around 3:30 to pick up my cats and then I went in to pick up my cats, all 3 were done but all half wet!!! I had to ask the groomer to dry and it took a long time to persuade her to dry the cats as she explained that the cats were stressful and she could do anymore. Wonder which cat is happy about bath and dry!!!

In a weather like this cold, cats can easily get cold if their fur is almost half wet!!! On PetSmart grooming site, a cat bath includes bath and brush; clean ears and trim nails. My cats got shaving on the belly fur; no brush on tangled hair (as there were still tangled hair); no ear cleaning and nail trimming. I was charged $41 for each long hair and $31 for short hair. Very unhappy about this experience.

Luckily someone was in the room both times and was able to extinguish the fire before it spread causing extensive damage to our home or lives. It appears to be a design flaw with the unit as the electrical cord is installed in the top of the lamp and lays on the fixture, which becomes extremely hot. This unit needs to be redesigned or consumers warned of the fire potential.

Meaning he was INFESTED with lice. INFESTED. The vet told me could have only gotten them from a bird or other rodent. He has not been exposed to any other animals. It had to come from the pet store. When I relayed the story to my sister-in-law she told me that she purchased a snake and a bearded dragon from them as well. Both of her animals had mites. Lice and mites are species specific so they are not quarantining new pets and are not adequately cleaning their habitats. I'm BEYOND outraged. And disgusted... and am itching right now just thinking about it. DO NOT, DO NOT purchase a small animal from this store.

What I wasn't expecting was for them to transform my dog into a naked mole rat. Well, about a half hour later they called me to pick her up and I was immediately shocked at what I saw. I've been taking my dogs to Petsmart for grooming for several years. I started out taking my Cockapoo, usually for mat removal or full body clipping. She came back on several occasions with scissor cuts in her years, on one occasion cut all the way through her ear 1/2 an inch long. She also had razor burn several times. The worst time, and I didn't take her back to Petsmart after this, was when she came back with a broken, flopping toe that no one mentioned. Her toe was normal when she got to the groomers, but as soon as I took her home I noticed her toe was broken and flopping like it was just skin holding it on. It never healed, and flopped forever (the vet later said that there wasn't a way to fix it without amputation, which wasn't required).

Later I started taking my Newfoundland puppy (100 lbs) to Petsmart just for bath and brush out. I was wondering why he was always coming back still stinky and not shiny, but I figured being a giant breed dog with a double waterproof coat, who spends a lot of time outside, maybe he just had a natural smell to him. I thought that until I bathed and blow dried him myself. It has been almost 2 weeks and he's still shiny and has no smell. Even the day of a Petsmart grooming, when he was supposedly washed and dried, if you stuck your hand in his coat it would come back stinky and with a light grease feeling.

I believe the groomers were not washing him well enough and even wetting his under coat. You have to spray a lot of water into his coat and really scrub the shampoo in to get to his undercoat, because it really is waterproof. I think the groomers either don't know enough about Newfoundlands hair to notice his skin wasn't getting wet, it didn't want to take the time to wet his skin. It costs over $50.00 for a bath for him there, I won't be wasting my money on Petsmart "grooming" anymore.

As I told them "No Thanks" I continued to shop, had everything I needed (for less than what the book cost). Another associate approached me and told me that my puppy was less than 5 months and was taken from mother so soon. Associate proceeded to tell me that the dog food I had was not good enough for her being so young, and that I need to buy this more expensive brand, and also I needed to buy a pertain type of formula because she still needed it as she was so young.

Fearing for my puppy's survival I told her to add it to my cart. The associate did tell me however that if I bought the coupon book, I could save on the formula and dog food, so I went ahead and bought it. After it was all said and done, I did not save a dime, I spent more then the $50 I intended to use, and to top it all off... I took my dog to my Vet. and she told me that she was 7 weeks old, and did not need the formula I bought, and that she was ok to start potty training outside, contrary to what the PetSmart associate said. Associate said I had to buy puppy pads as she was too young to potty train outside. Left my two puppies at the pet hotel in Jackson, MS. Called and preregistered so that I was assured of a space while I was out of the country for 17 days. I was told the morning I was leaving that they did not have a reservation. Non-caring staff that obviously did not listen to instructions or correctly spell my pets names. More interested in laughing and giggling about the fact that the girl registering my pets did not have her ear bud in or turned on. I called the day before I returned to check on my pets and was told they were so happy there. I left word of my arrival time and when I got there, my pets had been given a bath that I was told was due to one of my dogs having an accident so they bathed both. My dogs were still damp, as well as their bedding they said had to be washed also.

They reeked of urine as did their beds even after being washed. My dogs had been sleeping and sitting in urine long enough to still smell strong after being bathed. They had been overfed because they had run out of the food I had left and not all their belongings had been returned. My pets were traumatized by their treatment. When I spoke with the manager of the hotel, she kept talking over me and denying any mistreatment. I told her she is part of the problem because no one listens to the client. I called and spoke to the store manager and he said he would let the hotel manager handle the situation and I said she was the problem and you don't put the problem in charge of reporting honestly.

I then spoke with a corporate manager named Shane ** and told him there was a huge problem with the treatment of pets at that store. He said he would go back and review the video of the day I registered my pets and call me back. Of course I did not hear back from him so I called again and was told that my pets were treated well during their stay but they were willing to offer me a $100.00 store credit. I refused the offer and suggested they pay me 1/2 of the $915.00 that was paid. He said that was not feasible and that we could talk all day about the issue and it would not change. I hope that everyone that reads this report will heed the warning and not shop at any of their stores or God forbid leave their pets with the Petsmart Hotel. Everyone I spoke with showed no concern for the treatment of my pets and denied any part they played in the bad treatment. I feel I paid them almost a $1000.00 to basically mistreat my babies.

Today is 11/11/2015 to date - constant call back and forth with no response. Poor service - with the run around!

I am usually at PetSmart once or twice a week for crickets and fish. The last three weeks in a row there was advanced ick in at least three of their fish tanks. The first time I told a worker about it and then left. The next week I was there I found even more fish with ick. So, I questioned them. The one working in the area told me that they were aware and they are under treatment in the back. She explained to me that they are just brought up here at certain times. But that there were still a lot in the back that were being heavily medicated. She told me that they came from the manufacturer this way and they are truly doing everything they can to treat the fish but as far as changing the manufacturer it's not likely and not up to them anyway but corporate. And it has already been three times in the last couple of years that they had to change. I left it at that.

The following week I came in forgetting basically all about their fish issues when I was looking for a certain fish. When I found the fish I wanted I looked up into their tanks there was advanced ick all over them as well as the two tanks on either side of them. I was not going to buy the fish even though they were still selling them like this and in fact they now had a sale on them. These same fish were never on sale before. However, they were not saying why they were now at a low price. So once again I brought it up. But first I told her those were the ones I wanted and before I could finish she was getting ready to scoop them out for me. She said nothing so I then interrupted her and said but I am not going to because they have ick all over them. She looked in and agreed and then said she didn't know.

Every time I would say something to the ones working in the back, all different, they act surprised, as if I had to tell them or they would have never known. That is except the one who explained the treatment process to me. I think in total I brought it up to 5 different customer service people. I cannot believe they are selling fish with this disease. And it seemed as if they were not even going to say anything. They appeared to not even know so how could they say anything? I did not want to buy any fish from here during this time because I wasn't sure how many of the fish actually had this disease.

For me I have to travel from out of town to go to PetSmart and it just isn't realistic to then go find another at the time. This and the long wait in the aquatics area for any service is unacceptable. And customer service has been the same in all the different PetSmart stores in other town and cities I have been to in this department. There is something about the Aquatics area not being as important to them. Or so it seems.

PetSmart advertises that if you enroll in the pet perks top camper program and if your pet is in camp for 10 days or more within a 30 day rolling period, then you will receive one free day of camp. Needless to say I am currently due well over 20 free days. Every time I question these free days via their website, I get an email from customer service saying that they're looking into it and investigating, but nothing is ever done. I don't understand why they keep advertising it if they don't own up to it. Total false advertising! They have terrible customer service via their 800 number. Thank God they have the superb staff at the PetsHotel who truly care about keeping you as a happy customer. This is why I keep going back to the Darien, IL location. Petsmart corporate office, shame on you for misleading customers with your false advertising!

I had made my first appointment with their grooming salon. I did the first spot in the morning hopefully to avoid my dog being in the kennel for too long. I was told to bring proof of vaccination which I had with the dates he received the shots and everything then told, "No that's not good enough."

I have come here 3 other times only to find the professionalism has continued to fail every time! This last time was the worst! They have messed up the cut several times which I had complained & the professional courtesy is never ever displayed! You will find you stand and wait over 8 minutes waiting to be checked in. They don't listen to you when you say "don't pull my dog!" She's so lucky I didn't come over the counter & wrap the leash around her neck & yank her! My baby was a rescue baby & is still traumatized by his young life! I was very mad! This last go round was the last! I have written to corporate & filed a complaint! Don't come here!!! They're the worst!!! I'm taking my babies to Royal Pets from this point on!!!!

I purchased a defective teething toy from PetSmart that they would not take back for a refund. The manager was rude to me and said I should have been watching my dog when a piece broke off and almost choked. I told her I was watching my puppy and saw what happened. The other store manager just agreed with her. After many attempts and emails to talk to the corporate office, I finally got a phone call. He said he would send me a $25.00 coupon for PetSmart but I never received it. They lost a customer that use to go there weekly since I have two puppies. They don't care about their customers or for our pets.

About one year ago we adopted a full size standard poodle we named Lottie Da. She is a sweet and a beautiful copper color. Now many groomers want to groom standard poodles. We found that PetsSmart was happy to have her. We have had her groomed at PetSmart five times in the last year. Her first grooming was very good; a puppy cut that was adorable. The following four hair cuts were disasters. We even went to a different PetSmart but today's haircut is just as bad as the three preceding cuts. Why? I was told by a retired groomer that the puppy cut is one of the easiest cuts to do. Evidently not for PetSmart groomers.

They have done things such as shave the top part of her nose and leave the lower part so she looked like she had a duck's bill. We had one cut that was all different lengths so it looked like she had sprigs of hair sticking out all over. Today's cut is back to the duck bill even though I brought a picture of the puppy cut and discussed her face with the groomer for ten minutes. The sad thing is Lottie has to look terrible for about six weeks until I can find someone in Omaha who knows how to do a puppy cut on a standard poodle. I also found out today that the PetSmart groomers are students; not qualified groomers. I think PetSmart is deceitful when customers are NOT informed that students groom their dogs. Enough of PetSmart. I will find someone else or learn to groom Lottie Da myself.

I'm basically venting about the pricing on the website not matching the in-store pricing. I was surprised that they would match the online prices. I guess, from now on, I will have to bring a smart phone to check prices while I shop in-store or print what I need before I shop in the store. My situation involved live fish section of the website. My concern besides having to compare online and offline prices is that Joe Blow, off the street shopping, may pay more than myself. It's not fair to have to chase down your correct price.

I was a regular customer using their day camp very frequently but when it came time to give me my "free" day that they advertise they were "unable" to email the coupons to me, so I made multiple calls to PetPerks customer service and every single person I talked to lied to me. They promised I would get back in touch with me and even promised to send the coupon in the mail. I talked to a so called manager at the Hurst store and she said she would talk to the "store manager" and call me back and she never did. Therefore my dogs and I will never step foot in another PetSmart. Petco is better anyway but the one nearby does not have a day camp. PetSmart is lost in corporate coldness.

I was buying crickets for my Bearded Dragon on October 28th, 2015 from my local PetSmart store (1615 Regent Ave. West, Winnipeg MB, Canada) because the smaller business I support was currently out of crickets. I normally don't buy crickets from this particular PetSmart because 30-40% of them seem to die either by the time I'm home or by that evening. But I was in a pinch so I went. I asked for 40 crickets since I didn't want to buy too many knowing that many of them were going to die anyways. The woman helping me counted out every single cricket. I was so surprised to see them acting so stingy with their crickets. Then she handed me what looked to be half of what I asked for and she left to help another customer.

So I went to the cashier for help. I told her I didn't think what the other lady gave me looked like 40. The cashier looked at me with a condescending smile and said with over-exaggerated politeness "If she says it was 40, then it was 40". I was appalled at this callousness when I tried to get what was fair! Not only did I not get what I asked for, this cashier was so careless and condescending with complaints that she basically made fun of me with her obvious over-exaggerated politeness. I left so unhappy and determined that I will never shop there again. I will drive the extra distance to a different pet store. I love my beardie so no longer will I feed him that store's garbage. And Lo and Behold, the next day, almost half of them were dead! What a surprise! Thanks for nothing PetSmart.

I took my 2 yorkies to get them groomed. I always went to a man that was wonderful somewhere else but he was on vacation. I never had a problem having them groomed, they are small, 9 lbs and 10 lbs, and they behave. My other groomer never put a belt around their neck or hurt them. When we came to pick them up, they were shaking and when I got them home, my 10-lb yorkie started shooting poop out like crazy. My other one kept coughing like choking. I thought they were just nervous, tried to hold them and make them calm. They started to bite and lick their behinds, they were in such discomfort. They wouldn't eat and started to throw up.

I called Banfield Clinic, also a part of PetSmart. I pay 58 dollars a month pet club so they are taken care of, get all their shots and bloodwork but they are always working you over to buy this or that. He gave me a prescription and pouches of probiotics to calm stomach down. The next 2 days were Hell, I thought they would never get better. It cost me $120 for the pouches and then having their anal glands squeezed. Vet said their hair showed burns, their rectums were protruding. After 9 days, they are finally feeling a little better. I bought cream for the shaver burns. I talked to manager and she said she has to send to corporate. I told I wanted to talk to them, she said I couldn't and she doesn't feel their problems are the fault of the groomers. My advice to anyone thinking of getting their dogs groomed or go to their vets DON'T. It's the biggest mistake I have ever made. You can't trust those people.

On October 21, 2015, I dropped off my cat and dog at the boarding site (Petsmart, Maple Grove, MN). I left specific instructions on dry food and wet food for both pets. There were two people assisting. One appeared to be new. The other was busy chatting with a guest/not helping at all. I waited for 10 minutes until the person got done chatting. He then input the information on over the counter medicine for my cat. He was so busy being "jokey" - I'm not sure if he got it. Very disappointing and I was nervous about what was in store for my pets. I left canned food and dry food for both pets. When I went to pick them up, I discovered that neither the cat/dog cans had been opened I called and asked why - they apologized for any inconvenience. I called corporate - no call back; I called the local Maple Grove store - the manager was out of the store for two days. If the pets could talk, it would be a different story.

I have been bringing my dog to Petsmart grooming on State Road in Springfield PA for many years. I brought the dog today and had my appointment times confused and showed up late. They're using their grooming services for 8 years, tipping the groomers extremely well and never missing an appointment without a phone call. They refused to take my dog. Not to mention my original appointment was for Tuesday night and Petsmart called to cancel because they had too many dogs' schedule from their online service. When I spoke to the manager about it, she added insult to injury by calling me "hun". Further proof that she didn't give a crap about the situation. I would not recommend this place. Start to build a relationship with a private groomer. The prices are cheaper and the customer service is much better.

The promotion and coupons always get mixed up. I wouldn't go back again. I ordered cat foods online and it showed buy 5 get one free. When I picked up they said this promotion only you are buying it in the store, online not included. I mentioned when I ordered online it said the promotion included online that's why I ordered it. I would not go back again. There are lots of places selling cat foods cheaper and don't trick people.
