I’m always greeted when I walk through the door. The adoption center is always well cared for with both kittens and adults. I have adopted 3 from the center. Very seldom see dead fish in the tanks. Good variety of decorations for the fish tanks and numerous filtration systems. Favorite pet store.

Best place to find mostly everything we need for all four of our fur babies, Christmas time is especially great for the added outfits and of course to the warm sweaters and coats. The great stocking stuffers are always welcome. We enjoy the discounts available. And added So much more in chew toys. The staff is awesome. Everyone is so helpful. We only go for the dog items, but the kids always wander through the whole store looking at all the other cool stuff. It's also nice to run into families with pets in hand or leash. Kids never get enough of others either. Very family and pet friendly.

The store is a very good place to get all your pet supplies. The only thing that I didn’t like is they don’t stock their shelves with a lot of pet items. I went to get a pan for my dogs cage and they didn’t have anymore in the store and they couldn’t tell me when they would get them in.

We love our PetSmart store. They offer a very wide variety of pets, pet food, pet supplies, pet training, pet grooming, and pet veterinarian care. You can shop in the store or online and pick up at the store. The store is always well-stocked, arranged so you can easily find what you want and is always clean and neat. The manager, the dog trainer, and the cashiers, and the other employees are always polite and willing to help if you need. They have great sales and a great reward program. The store also supports pet activities in the community. What else could we want in a pet store!

Since I only go there for bird stuff, ie. cat litter for the bird's cage. I rarely buy seed there as they only carry up to 5 lb. bags. I really need 20 lb. bags or loose seed get your own. I know of nowhere around here that carries it. It's a better selection than Walmart, but further away, twice as far to go. Good selection of fish. No cats or dogs for sale? The Vienna Virginia one had them. I don't like that people bring their dogs in, but it's Petsmart and that's one of the things that they're well known for. Going to the groomer is one thing, being all over the store is another. I am not comfortable with that. I don't see people bringing in their cats. This is about the Signal Butte store and 6932 E Hampton both in Mesa. Fish were purchased at both but terrible service at the signal butte. I love my fish tank. I have a very large fish tank that I have had for over 15 years. I loved my fish. I had a clown loach that I had for over 12 years, I had a dragon fish that I had for 10 years, I had cichlids that were over 7 years old and large suckerfish that were 12 years old.
Every morning before work the first thing I would do is go to my fish tank, turn on the day time light and check out my fish and feed them. The fish tank is in an area of my home that I can see them all the time. When I moved 6 years ago I successfully moved all of my fish myself keeping every single one of them alive. My family has gone through a lot over the past year. We have struggled with the loss of my son.
For Christmas my 18 year old twin daughters wanted to do something they knew I would love. So they took their younger brother who is 10 and bought me some new fish for my tank. At the time I did not know what was going on. I came home on 12-23-19 to the front side of my tank covered so I could not see. They made me promise not to look. On Christmas I was able to open it and they had purchased me some new cichlids, angelfish and gouramis and a shark. They were so proud. I immediately noticed that several of the new fish had ick spots. I was in panic. I had delt with ick successfully 8 years ago but I am always careful when making fish purchases to check for it.
I got my medical tank going and began to treat all of the fish. I had to go purchase water treatment, a new heater for the tanks and medication for the fish. Dealing with this several times a day over the next few days. I spent $120 I didn't have four treatment supplies over the week. Group by group the fish were dying. All of the new fish died and one by one my long time fish died. The last to go was my loach who I loved. My son who is gone picked him. He was my prize. He was covered.
My daughters took the first group of the dead new fish back to Petsmart on signal butte. The manager was so heartless. They were in tears saying they tried to do something nice and now my whole tank was contaminated. Killing off old and new fish. The manager just shrugged it off saying, "Probably not ick, maybe your mom should have less advanced fish." There was a customer behind them in line looking at them holding ziplock bags of dead fish and she said that was very sad. Terrible that this customer cared more than the manager.
The following days I returned the other new fish. All the manager said was, "Oh well sorry. Do you want new fish." I said, "My whole tank is contaminated. Why would I bring new fish home just to kill them. I have pictures of my fish for you to see the extent." Well within the week after Christmas my entire tank was gone. All of my fish dead. Every single fish. I have an empty tank running now. I have cleaned it and it is empty running. All of my money gone. I obviously knew I could not get anything from fish I had for 7-12 years. But now I have no fish. And the fish I had were expensive and meant a lot to me. I can't afford to get new fish right now and now heart is very sad.
I gave my daughters back the money from the returned dead new fish. They used all of their babysitting money to buy me over $80 in fish. They are seniors in high school with 4.3 GPA. They play 4 varsity sports so they don't work. They babysit for people from church when asked. My son just made honor roll again and is always kind. They used all of their money and they wanted to brighten my heart. Now they feel terrible because my fish are all gone. They tried to do good. We are left with an empty tank, and I had to spend money I didn't have to try to save the fish I had. With no success. I work full time. I do the best I can but am paycheck to paycheck like many.
My kids have all they need and are productive members of society. Everyone loves them. Then they were treated like garbage at petsmart when they went in to return fish and to tell the manager what happened. We were not asking for any gift certificates to help restock the fish, we were not asking for money back for the supplies I bought. All we were asking for was for them to hear what happened and refund my daughter's money for the new fish.
We got the refund for the new fish and we were also given a manager who laughed saying that maybe I shouldn't have such advanced fish who reminded them that they were just fish not a dog. Well we have dogs as well. And to us they are not just fish. They were memories of my son, their brother and they gave me happiness in a dark time. We always went to petsmart. It's the only store I go to for my pets and fish. I have spent tens of thousands there over the 18 years of my adult life for our pets and fish. It was terrible.

I contacted PetSmart on 12/30 to report a significant injury to my pet that occurred during her stay at your pet hotel. The stay was from 12/21 through 12/28. During my pet's stay, she sustained a serious injury to right eye. The injury was ignored by the staff and left untreated for the entire duration of her stay. (There was a vet located in that particular store.) I was contacted by the staff while I was on vacation. The injury was downplayed by the staff as they told me her eye was simply red. When we picked up Sookie, her eye was infected due to an ignored laceration to the eye and had a faded (cloudy) appearance like it was dying. I've been in contact with the corporate customer service line and the store's hotel management. Unfortunately, nothing is happening as of 1/20 (one month later). We have now paid for the hotel stay and several vet visits. As well as medications and the time it's taking to medicate Sookie's eye multiple times per day.
The store's hotel manager has been very empathetic. However, everything has been left unresolved as the store is waiting for the corporate pet investigation team to conclude their investigation. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, the staff's negligence to provide veterinary care during Sookie's stay escalated the injury as well as the time taken for her to heal. We are beginning to feel like this matter is being ignored in hopes that we would just let it go. Our dog's eye may never heal properly or fully because of the negligence of the hotel staff leaving her lacerated eye infected and untreated during her stay. If this matter is not resolved in a timely manner, we will be contacting legal representation as well as media.

I have now had TWO very disappointing experiences at the PetSmart in Ward parkway-- specifically the grooming department. Two weeks ago I scheduled a grooming appointment for my cat at 9am. I called a few days before to confirm the appointment and the time; when I arrived I was informed that they had my appointment time at 1:30. The cat groomer was not even there. Rather than leave my cat I rescheduled my appointment for this morning at 7am. I called last week to confirm my appointment for today.
We arrived at 7am and I was told it would take about 4 hours. When I returned at 10:40 I was informed that the cat groomer had not even come in yet. My cat was left in her carrier for 3 1/2 hours. No one bothered to call me. They called the manager who was not readily available. I was very upset so I did not wait and brought my cat home. I proceeded to call the manager. She informed me that they had the appointment time at 9am. I explained to her that this is the second time that this has happened. Once is a life lesson-- twice is a mistake!!! I go to this pet smart at least once a month to buy cat food, but after these experiences I will NEVER go to that PetSmart in Ward Parkway again!!!!

I initially made contact with Jade in the grooming department while she was not busy with another customer or doing anything else, she set me aside not just once, but twice to help other customers who came in after I did. When another worker of the grooming department came in, she handed me off to him to finish checking in my Chinese shar pei.
I was then told that my dog's eye boogers were contagious and would get other dogs sick, I told ** that my dog is not sick or contagious and that they were just eye boogers, you know the same eye boogers she herself would get after a late night of partying, anyways. She denied my dog of their grooming service and I went to another establishment.
Quite simple. Don't go here for grooming services, they seem to only want to treat cute little doggies that wake up apparently according to her, pretty and not contagious. Go somewhere else. **, learn how to treat customers. 11/10/2019 9 AM appointment for Nala my Chinese Shar Pei. Petsmart,1935 N Campus AveUpland, CA 91786.

*Received poor customer service from this location regarding the experience with one of the groomers. Earlier in the year, February, my dog had a seizure at this facility after Years of service with Petsmart. I Chose to give Petsmart the benefit of the doubt and continue service. On more than one occasion the employees at this location began to exhibit discriminant behavior, and further make it difficult for me to have regular service without warranted personal observations. The store manager today attempted to force my dog to have express service with due to his own perception even after being both cleared from Banfield, and personal vet.
The (personal) opinion from this store manager was given after a simple request to reduce his water intake and only accepted after one of the employees suggested that I allow the dog to do express for this one time occurrence. The manager also mentioned that I was free to go somewhere else. I was not aware that there would be an additional charge and inconvenience surrounding this concern.

I was recently at my local PetSmart shopping for our new bunnies when my son wanted to see the kittens and cats. We went where they were in their cages and noticed all 12 or so of them were sleeping. Immediately I thought it was strange. My son called to me as he was trying to wake one up and he said, "mom, I think this one is dead!" I went over and we nudged this cat 2 to 3 times. Any normal cat would not have to be nudged to wake up. He finally woke up, but acted drunk and couldn't keep his eyes open and his head fell back down and his eyes closed. I couldn't even get one of the kittens awake. I had every intention of inquiring about what we saw, but it slipped my mind with all my kids commotion and buying bunny items. I am calling tomorrow and reporting this immediately. Those cats and kittens were most definitely drugged/sedated.

I have 3 dogs and since they are my kids, I invest money in them. I have used Petsmart training. My current pup is enrolled in the intermediate class. I paid for the package and I have a friend that I recommended Petsmart training to and she bought the package. We did the puppy class. It went well. Then, we started the intermediate class. If I knew what I know now, I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THE PACKAGE!!!! We have no physical location to work in. WE ARE JUST STUFFED in individual aisles.
It’s difficult to hear everything because we are so spread out. The first two or three classes started late because displays had to be moved out of the middle of the aisles. Still I have tried to work with it but today did me in. I ended up in 3 locations. First, I put my stuff down and as I journeyed to the back of the store to get a stupid stool; another student commandeered the aisle. So I sat in the aisle next it it. The trainer had us move again. This time in the aisle in front of the Vet and Grooming center. We might as well been out in the middle of the Interstate. We couldn’t hardly work at all. Yes, distractions are part of it but ALL WE HAD WERE DISTRACTIONS!
Somewhere in the process, I laid my phone down. Couldn’t find it. It had gotten knocked back on dog food bags. Yes, I should have had a pocket deep enough to put it in. I run around everywhere to find it. Even busted my lip in my frenzy to open the car door. So, when we finally found my phone, I’m angry frustrated and bleeding. (At least, I got to meet some of my other class members. I usually can’t see them in the other aisles.) The trainer was kind and even scheduled a make up class. I like the instructor. He’s the probably the best Petsmart trainer I’ve worked with. However, HE HAS NOWHERE TO WORK!
I believe that this company understands that the training brings in customers who not only pay for training but buy other goods and services. I would think that accommodating the training classes would be a PRIORITY but obviously not at the Powell location. I chose Petsmart as a venue because of the interaction between other pets and their owners. I knew that we would have to work some in the store. I did not expect to be sitting in between feed bags wondering who was in my class and what the instructor is saying!! The advanced class had better not be like this!!! If you cannot accommodate us then don't take our money. And, no, I do not want to go across town to another location. I already work with a private trainer in working with my other dog, who is in service dog training. I will just pick up with him and find another way to get her with other people and pups. This needs to be resolved.

I was having trouble finding the product I was interested in. An employee by the name of Erica saw this and asked if I needed help, which I did. She checked the shelves with me and she to could not find the product. She then checked the back stockroom, no avail. She then called several other stores to see if they had the item I wanted. They did not. She then searched to see what the store offered that was similar to what we were using and advised me of a product that was close to it.
She was very helpful in helping me as well as patient with, and acted truly concerned, as to helping me meet my needs. I was extremely impressed with her treatment of me as a customer and her desire to assist me in making my visit to the store and helping me meet my needs. They told me there was nothing to do, because I signed a paper that says they were not responsible for lost items. They didn't even say they were sorry about. Our Dogs are very calm but within 3 minutes of going into the grooming salon, our dogs were treated horribly. One of our dogs was made to wait in a back room while paperwork was "reviewed". The groomers (managers), untrained workers kept questioning my wife about the paperwork ALL CERTIFIED by a VET. Our Dogs are very upset which in turn makes me VERY ANGRY. Our Dogs go into puppy care daily and they love other dogs and people which clearly indicated that there is no training or love of pets at PETSMART. My Samoyed got skunked on Thursday night. I bathed her area of skunking (Head/mouth/eyes) twice but I could still smell skunk. I have my professional groomer that I take my dog to every 3 months. I called her but she was unable to remove the skunk smell so I called PetSmart. They were able to fit me in for 8am today.
When I was dropping her off, the young girl said her back legs are a little matted and may need a little shaving down. My groomer uses the term shave her bum and back legs close so I went with it. I said, "It’s ok if you need to do that. Let me know if you need to". She called me at 8:22 to say that she needed to. She said she would be giving her breaks so it would take approximately 3.5 hours. I thought that was a little long but my professional groomer usually takes around 3 hours. When it had been 4 plus hours, I called. They said another hour to 2. I thought this is ridiculous but I thought they were giving her extra breaks as she stated. I just wanted my baby home at this point. Finally they called after 7 hours. When I got there, I said I hope someone took her outside to go during this time. They didn’t know.
They didn’t seem right. The girl went to get her and when she was walking out, she had her eyes peeled on me to see my reaction. They had shaved my Samoyed head to toe. I almost went into shock. I started crying. They are not qualified to take care of pets if the people working there do not know never to shave a Samoyed. She has two layers of protection for a reason. Now she looks like a skinned rat. I am mortified by what they have done to my baby. I started to panic. There is absolutely nothing you can do at this point. You can’t put it back on. They said, "You gave us the ok to do this". I said, "Why on earth would I ever ok my Samoyed to be completely shaven". I would never do such a thing.
I have had her for 12 years and she has never been shaven. They knew that I gave the ok to fix up her back leg and shave down the bum area. That’s what my groomer always does. I never approved her to be completely shaved. Also she was only sprayed by the skunk in the face so why do you feel the need to completely ruin a dogs coat by shaving it all off. I am in shock. My dog is in shock. My whole family is devastated by this. We don’t know that it will ever grow back and if it does, what it will look like.
Don’t take your pet to Petsmart. They are not so smart. Poor Tessa. What a shame that they couldn’t have said hey “are you authorizing us to completely shave your dog head to toe?" Then I would have said, "WHAT, NO". They did not tell me or ask me if they could do this. The Manager knew they were in the wrong. She said, "You don’t need to pay. I can tell you are upset". I said, "Upset. I am fuming right now. What have you guys done".
Never go to Petsmart for grooming. We are very devastated by this occurrence and Tessa is very upset. It is not the same dog that I dropped off there. Something happened. Our theory is they started shaving, severely messed it up and kept going and then didn’t know how to fix her. So they decided to blame me. I can not believe how rude and nasty the Manager was. She said it was my fault that they needed to do this and I don’t take care of my dog. I love my dog and I normally take her to a professional groomer. So many regrets this weekend. I am just hoping her fur grows out ok and that she feels better tomorrow and is back to her old self. Not sad, like tonight.

My dog I was dropping off is older and had been there many times before. When she was there she had a hard time standing for the grooming. So I had her after that taken to the vet for medications for inflammation, arthritis and pain meds for the problem. So later three weeks I called for an appointment for grooming at the Maplewood, MN location and they said, "no you are not allowed to bring your dog here again. I picked him up. I told them I would not allow him to sit all day because they overbook as it is all about money. I feel 4.5 hrs. is long enough. Got home and she barfed up her entire morning meal. Then proceeded to scratch her ears and butt scoot all over the floor. Looked at her butt and the entire perianal region was razor-burned down to the skin and was red and bloody. Went to Vet. Had x-rays, blood work, the whole physical thing. Got meds for the ears and her butt along with tranquilizers to keep her quiet for a couple of days. All to the tune of $500.00. Very disappointed that the groomer did this to my dog. At least she said to have her ears checked. Vet said it was a allergic reaction to something put on her skin. Never going back again.

Every time you call. Then, after waiting that long, you can assume the customer rep won't actually do anything. So go online? Those appointments won't show up for 48 hours - by design. The staff - who are really great - say the online experience never works. So, if you can't call, and can't go online, what do you do? PetSmart is saving money with a terrible online platform and a centralized customer service line. Too bad - they've lost my money.

I didn't see this issue anywhere online regarding the PetSmart's Online store. There is a promotion running for Treats members where free shipping is offered for orders over $49 (before Taxes). In the promotion details it states that this discount is reflected in the Order Summary (after you have submitted the purchase.. go figure...). However in my experience, that didn't happen. Order summary showed a shipping charge and the pending charge for my bank showed the same total amount. This was for an order in June 2019.
I sent an email to PetSmart's customer service and got a reply a few hours later. Apparently what happened was a glitch (no details provided, not that I needed to know since the issue was on their end and their business to fix whatever defects in their software) and that they would be refunding the shipping charge. So as of now, I am awaiting that refund. Summary: Had an issue, I reached out, customer service responded accordingly. Just submitted this in case anyone else experienced the same. Worst experience I've had at a groomer ever. People who have seen her basically said she looked like a 3-year-old took some scissors to her. It's bad enough when your dog LOOKS awful - but when they are so traumatized they come home and sit in your lap for hours, and haven't completely recovered weeks later? This was not a first time grooming dog. She had been several times before without incident. We have no clue what happened, but were only told "she was crying and we couldn't finish." (They did, however, charge us for the service!) Yet this dog NEVER cries and LOVES to be brushed and handled.
After I calmed down, I reached out to customer service TWICE and have yet to receive anything other than a call from the groomer who left a voicemail message while I was at work - two WEEKS after it happened wanting to make sure "HE" was okay ... despite the fact that I had said many times it was a "SHE." The name isn't a big deal, but it's just a perfect example of the total lack of concern exhibited by everyone from corporate customer service who sent "canned" emails down to the local management, as far as I can tell. I was again promised a return call - never received it. I WAS offered $10 if I came in and spent $40. HA HA HA I will NEVER step foot in a PetSmart for ANY purpose ever again!
As a follow up - we took our poor baby to John Paul's in Grand Prairie after this fiasco. They were WONDERFUL, our dog was HAPPY and looked as beautiful as a poor shaved Bichon Frise can, and it was LESS expensive!!! Please do a better job than I did of researching PetSmart before you try them - the internet is replete with how horrible they are.

I figured there was something going on so I called their customer service line to get the situation solved, where they then informed me my cage was a "special order" but they hadn't gotten around to listing it as such on their site. This meant it would take 8-12 days to ship!! I needed the cage sooner than that and found the same cage on Amazon for $30 less and with same day shipping. I called again to cancel my order and they told me they could only "put in a request to cancel it" and that I would find out in 3-5 business days if it was cancelled.
10 DAYS LATER I got an email saying it was cancelled and that once the return processed I would be refunded. 2 WEEKS go by with no refund so I called them AGAIN. They said it had processed the week earlier and they don't know why I haven't received my refund. They put in a request for me to finally receive my refund and here I am, still waiting for it. Nearly 2 months ago I purchased a black molly, red wag platy and cory catfish (against my better judgment because I had to notify a less than enthusiastic employee of dead fish in the tanks). As I had gotten them acclimated and settled in their new home, I noticed that their dorsal and tail fins were very opaque, and the platy actually was missing about 1/3 of his dorsal fin. The last thing I really expected upon buying new fish was having to treat them of a disease right away. Although I got the situation under control for a while, the cory catfish and black molly both took a turn for the worse despite all of the efforts I put into treating them. The catfish died, and my molly is seeming worse by the day with his lethargy and refusal to eat. The platy seems to be doing fine, however they should not have been sold with a disease that is among the most preventable - simply just a clean tank.
I was offered to return them for new fish, but I didn't want to simply return fish that would be resold or killed. I have put so much more money into trying to treat these fish than I paid for them, and while I'm more than happy to do that, it is simply absurd. They need to be stripped of their right to sell any living creature as they are incapable of hiring and training people how to care for them properly.

They shouldn't be sold before 8 weeks yet I see them in the store at 5-6 weeks old!!! The breeder/supplier should know better. Just in it for the money. Second of all, stop clipping the wings the wrong way! You clip the 1st 4 in on both sides. No more. They clip them all the way down and when the keets try to jump from one perch to another, they drop like lead. Go ahead and try it. Jump off the sofa and land directly on your stomach and see how it feels time after time. Clipping the 1st 4 lets them glide down so they don't hurt themselves. Either hire someone that knows what they are doing or don't do it at all.

I decided to let PetSmart Pet hotel board my 2 expensive bullies while I traveled to Destin FL for my wedding. My dogs are 2 and 1 yrs old. I have never had a problem with them boarding my older pet but my younger has never been boarded before. They were there for 6 days which must have been an awful experience for my younger pup. Once we picked them up it was obvious she had been left in urine for quite some time because her beautiful black and white coat was now black and yellow/brown from urine. I took her home and tried to shampoo her with whitening shampoo and that did not help. So I called PetSmart and spoke to someone, informed them of what happened and she agreed that when I brought her in her coat was Snow White and they should have never sent her home that way.
Although I did not request an exit bath which probably would not have helped anyway, they could have at least wiped her paws and neck off. They made her an appointment with the groomers and refunded me 1 day stay which I had to use to pay the groomers and then comped me a free day for each of my pets. To say the least after the groomers bathed her she is still discolored and the pet hotel said there is nothing else they could do but recommend I bath her several time with whitening shampoo. I am very frustrated because my dogs are really expensive, crate trained and have never been left in urine. They will never get my business again as my husband and I travel a lot throughout the year.

Charities and corporate - manager bullied until charity pulled out, now cats from another charity aren’t cared for well enough as there is tons of poop left in litter boxes at all times and the cats are in dirty environments.
Corporate doesn’t give a rip. Was on the phone with them for an hour about the situation, they tell you how much they care and that they will update you, but I never heard anything back about any situation. They don’t care about animals. Just money. This is sad to me. I used to donate to PetSmart charities every time I went in, but I will never return. I even stopped ordering my cat and dog foods and litter from Chewy since it is owned by this terrible company. I would rather pay more elsewhere than give anything else to PetSmart.

The two caregivers would bang a mop stick on the floor to stop the animals from barking and would spray the animals in the face with a water bottle to curb unwanted behavior. I contacted corporate who didn't get back to me until I followed up with two more phone calls. When the store manager called, he admitted this is what they do in the store to calm to dogs???? Please do your homework folks, do NOT drop your dogs off at PetSmart Doggy Daycare. It's a glorified caged environment and the dogs are being scared into submission. So sad!

Visiting Petsmart at the outer loop and others within the Louisville, KY area, we have found the lack of empathy and consistency in the lack of providing world class customer service to be the same across the board. After standing in the fish department for ten minutes we had to interrupt the associate from playing in the fish tank. Interested in the 125 gallon tank, there was no price and the associate had to locate the price. Then began to tell us the only "new" tank was the floor model and that is the only way they sell it. However in the next breath told us someone bought the one in the box in the back.
Maddie at the outer loop told us the cost of the tank and told us "take it or leave it". She had no respect for us as customers. We asked for a discount because it was the floor model, she told us "it's just dust, take it or leave it". We asked her for the manager, it took 10 minutes for another employee to come to the front. Maddie began to tell Courtney (the manager with no name tag) "they want the fish tank but they don't want that one". She spoke in a tone like we had to take the fish tank and were wrong as customers because we wanted it in a box. There was no protection for the tank nor the stand. Courtney didn't even want to speak to us until I asked her for her name and title. Then she repeated what Maddie said, "take it or leave it".
No empathy no care for me as a customer. More along the lines of, "Give me your money. Take the product. If you jack it up on the way home oh well." Who sells stuff like that? I'd rather spend my money someplace where they care about my wants and needs as a customer and the products I purchase from them. I would advise people to not use this company until they require their employees to undergo customer relationship training.

My review is about the grooming services of PetSmart Leaside. A typical charge for a small dog is about $54 dollars from Monday-Thursday, if you want to book on a weekend they will charge you extra money about 3-4 dollars. The biggest problem for me was that the groomer wanted the dog clean and no tangles. Obviously a dog will always have a tangle or two, however I was advise that I would have to pay about $20 dollars extra. At the end it would had end up close to $100 dollars after tax just for small dog grooming. Is this fair? I don't think a hairdresser from a well known salon charges that much for a haircut including blow dry. For sure they don't charge extra to book on a weekday or if you have a tangle or messy hear.
The worst part of my experience is that when I express my dissatisfaction with the groomer, she confronted me, making me feel discriminated because I am not like the rich people in the area as I am complaining about the extra charge. Yes I take care of every penny I spend, but I also pay when it is fair. In this situation it was unfair as my dog had no tangles in a way that will required extra work for the groomer, and the way the lady responded. Of course I was feeling treated unfair so I was doubting proceeding with the service. The groomer view was take it or leave it, of course that was the attitude as they feel supported by the monopolistic power of the company they represent. She asked me to find another groomer and that I should never come back there and thank me for making her waste her time.

We never received a phone call from the groomer so my wife and I proceeded to stop by and check on our dog, once we arrived we asked the groomer (Tatiana) if our dog was done and ready for pick up. She said he had been done for an hour and that they had called and left a message on our phone, we told her, "We never received a phone call. This is why we stopped by."
She replied (oh well I don’t know what to tell you) in a rude condescending tone which I didn’t appreciate, I then asked to speak to the manager about this issue. I asked her to please talk to her about her rude comment and tone otherwise I would go in and do it myself and I warned her I would get very ugly with her. I told the groomer that I had given him an anti-anxiety med right before the visit. She said they could not groom him because of the prescription medicine. What? Many animals take anti-anxiety medicine. I think they should just let you sign a waiver. The medication had already been given, so canceling the appointment was useless. If this is their policy, have a sign that states that. I was late to work because I had to return my dog to my home.

I go to PetSmart when I know exactly I want. I have two elderly dogs, and three young cats. One dog and two cats require specialty food that I either buy at PetSmart or order through chewy.com. The products are always available at both places. Hours are convenient at PetSmart, and delivery of pet food is usually between one and two days at chewy.com. There is very little personal service at PetSmart, so I don't go to gain knowledge about pet food, harnesses versus leashes, or treats. I can read online reviews at chewy.com, and I do before I buy a particular product. The reviews are very helpful in determining how to meet pet needs that are outside veterinarian care.
I have gone to three different independent pet food stores in Austin. While service clerks tried to be helpful, they were not as informative as chewy.com reviews. They also did not carry the specialty dog and cat foods that three of my pets require. I do prefer to shop local and independent businesses. I have chronic back pain, so having big bags of dry food and cases of canned food delivered to my door by chewy.com is a really valuable service. They are also very fast to process an order; typically, not more than one or two days. Otherwise, I don't buy grocery items online.

Their recommendations were for a gummy treat that definitely doesn't help tartar build-up. When shopping for a simple acrylic sweater, I only found a wide assortment of coats for our dog. She needed an acrylic sweater for indoor use, for the chilly nights just after a clipping. Dog food is another area of wide choices, but few with all-natural ingredients. Now when the bather came to me I told her that he was an older dog and to be gentle on his hind quarters, as he was getting a little bit slower. OK fine she said. Now she told me it would be 2.5 hours to do because of drying time, which I thought a little strange, but okay. Came back 2.5 later...my dog could barely walk. I had to lift my dog and place him in the back of my truck through the back tailgate...because no way was he jumping in like he usually did through the front seat. And had to lift him out when we got home.
He did walk on his own into our unit, but with much difficulty, and is now lying at the end of my bed on the floor and won't move. Even when I ran the vacuum over the carpet (Which he is terrified of)...no movement. He has gotten up once to get a drink, but is back in the same spot. He won't even take one of his favorite treats. Not sure what they have done to him, whether they shoved him sideways or forced him down or what, but if he doesn't improve by morning, or later this evening...it's off to the vets. And if I'm told he has some damage done...then I warned Petsmart that I would be back with the bill and a lawyer. I will NEVER, EVER take him back there.

I have heard repeatedly that PetSmart doesn't allow pitbulls in the doggy day camp. Finally verified that information and I am very disappointed. As a pitbull owner, I know first hand that the breed does not determine the behavior or temperament. The fact that this policy is based off of incorrect and misinformed opinions about how pitbulls are supposedly aggressive shows the lack of respect you have for animals to even give them a chance. I have been attack and bitten many times by multiple Chihuahuas for no reason other than the Chihuahua was just aggressive. My pitbull, and the multiple pitbulls I have known throughout my life have never once bitten me, growled at me, or even attacked me.
Every single one of them were the sweetest and most loving dogs I have ever met. Yet, they are not allowed in the doggy day camp but are allowed in the store on a leash. The behavior of an animal is learned by the way they are raised from a puppy. Even still, I have known multiple pitbull rescues that were actual fighting dogs and every single one of them were calm, loving, and gentle to me and to other dogs. PETCO doesn't have the policy that PetSmart has and views dogs as equal. Save your money, shop at the judgment free store. PETCO is better.

Within the past three years I have attempted to adopt 2 pets through the Biddeford, Maine PetSmart store. A female betta fish and a male mouse. Both animals have had health complications and today my betta fish died from unknown causes. We just adopted her and she should have been completely healthy with the care I have been giving to her. My male betta fish (Red Foreman, in separate enclosures and adopted from another pet store ) is in great health and is happy right now.
The female betta, (Blue) seemed to be struggling a little since we got her home, I assumed she would pull through though which was apparently not the case. It may have just been a fish but I had already become attached, and now she's dead. My male mouse (Buddy) that we adopted from PetSmart had to be returned due to skin lacerations made by the mouse chewing his skin off! They adopted him to me with a skin infection! Another animal I got attached to and had to deal with losing. All they wanted to do was have me purchase another one, haha nope.
On another note, some food products bought at PetSmart make my animals sick. Store representatives have pointed out and handed me items of great value stating they are great for my pets and in fact, only made them sick! My male betta was introduced to a bloodworm that made his eyesight go for a short period of time, now he won't even touch bloodworms and they used to be his favorite. When asked about it, the associate simply stated, 'oh, uh... I dunno?' So we returned the remainder of the product and got the money back. Did not care about my animal at all! I have a male hamster (Kevin), adopted from a family friend and he likes to chew a lot, obviously. Same thing with the associate finding the most expensive treats and toys for him.
When I gave the toys to him, he seemed to avoid them all together like they stunk or something. For two days I gave him the treats and slowly we noticed him getting more and more aggressive. I went to feed him a treat again on the third day and he actually bit my hand which had never happened before. Fed daily, plus extra fresh fruits and veggies, loved unconditionally, and an enclosure as big as a large barn style kitchen table there is absolutely no reason for him to have felt the need to bite me. After stopping the treats completely, he seemed to calm down a bit. It took about a day and a half but he was back to his old self. Never again will I shop at PetSmart. I have given too many chances and I am done with my animals being harmed and killed. Not worth it.

We submitted the application, answered follow up questions, agreed to a home inspection (that never happened), and were approved within a week. We purchased food, bedding, toys, and cat climbers in preparation. We arrived at the store, at the correct time, to take possession of the kitten. After the foster mother, Marion, bragged about her work ethic, and how many hours she'd been there already, she then, chose to mention a lump on the kitten's ear. She let us know that we cant take her home, that she needs to be seen by a vet first. Our only issue, at this time, was that she failed to inform us before we made the hour long trip.
Three days later, after several messages were left, we heard back from her. The kitten had ringworm and needed to be kept another 3 weeks. During this time, we asked about her progress several times. Almost 5 weeks later, we are told that she still has ringworm and now ear mites. We insisted on taking possession and after a terse conversation, the foster mother agrees to release her into our care. We arrive at PetSmart before the foster mother, which allowed us to see her pull the cat from her trunk!! The cat, smelled horrible. She had feces stuck everywhere on her body. The ringworm was not only on her ear, but her entire throat was hairless and covered in it.
We arrive home and give her a bath. That is when we discovered how emaciated she was. Her fur was dull and so thin, that you could see her skin through it. Her bones were sticking out, even her ribcage was noticeable through the fur. This kitten had matted fur across her belly and under her arms. The poor thing didn't know how to climb, and when we put her on the bed, she had no idea how to get down. We took her to our vet for treatment. She was riddled with worms, ear mites, and ringworm. They will be sedating her to remove the matted fur. The foster mother is abusing these animals, and Petsmart is complicit. Our kitten was kept in a filthy cage, while in their care. She was forced to lay down, which is how her fur matted. How dare PetSmart allow disgusting, ignorant people like Marion, to foster innocent animals? How dare they.

I asked them for the paperwork and that had my pet's name, I questioned that how can they just put another pet in the kennel without checking the name, they had no answer to this except claiming this kind of mix up happens. Though I know it is not acceptable as PetSmart is a corporation and they should have the guidelines for the safety of the pets, I was happy to get my cat back home. To the pet parent whose cat was in kitty cottage 611 on Dec 26th 2018 and came to my home briefly - I tried to make him comfortable as much as possible but he was terrified. I can never imagine something like this happen to my cat, he’s part of family. Due to their irresponsible justification - Petsmart just lost a customer.

Made an appointment to have my dog bathed. Even after an extra phone call, because they would not accept my dog's valid/current rabies tag, they claimed to have never heard of me when I got there. To add insult to injury they made me wait, while they waited on the person who came through the door after me. Don't waste your time with Petsmart.

An employee by the name of Jeff wanted to put me out the store because he refused to help me get my points and did not want to take the time to help me with coupons that an employee from PetSmart corporate office sent to me. The employee smelled like he had been drinking and as people came into the store and said hello to him he told each one about my issue. After I told him that I would report him to PetSmart corporate office he stated to me that he did not care.

On Friday Nov. 16 I brought my two dogs to PetSmart for a bath and nail trim, one is a 13 year old Jack Russell, and the other is a 7 year old black Lab. Three hours later I pick them up. The Jack Russell is a shivering wreck. He loses interest in food and water, and a few days later begins passing bloody stools while we are on a trip to visit family for Thanksgiving. We check him into an emergency vet clinic, and unfortunately on Thanksgiving morning we have to euthanize him. The vet cannot determine what happened to him (ultrasound diagnostics couldn't find anything wrong in his abdomen/chest). PetSmart corporate says "We are sorry, but since there are no cameras in the grooming area, and there was no necropsy performed, the findings are inconclusive." I have since found out that there seem to be a lot of "incidents" involving PetSmart Grooming. Wish I had never gone there.

This is the worst experience in my past 46 years. I would like to buy 2-3 small fish for my new fish tank. I had a old one 5-gal tank and a new 10-gal tank. The new one is the gift from my friend last night. Then I went to the store which located in Bridgeport Rd in Richmond. The fish area manager is a young man, he came to ask me for my requirement. I told him I need buy some fish for my new 10-gal tank, and I just receive this gift one day. He refused to sell me. He said it is a “policy”, I cannot buy fish for my new tank for how many days, I also need to show him the tank picture to him... He is really very rude, not friend, bossy to everyone, whatever staff or customer. He is neither professional nor enough knowledgeable. I asked him to show me the “policy”. He replied “I could” but... nothing provide...???!!!
I work in 5-star hotel and retails for high level management for many years. I know what is the customer service. I know what is professionally. I came there for shopping not for make a trouble or feel unhappy in weekend. I am a pet lover. How unlucky I met such a “...” in my first experience setting my feet in PETSMART. This is no good for the reputation for the store and the brand. I feel so upset the whole day. I never met such customer service in my life.

WE picked up a 10 pound box of this item at the Petsmart in Orlando 2 weeks ago and stored, sealed, in a closet. Opened the box yesterday and what appeared to be tiny moths flew out of the box. Calling customer service at Petsmart I'm told to return it to Orlando but we live in Spring Hill (2 hours away). That is the only solution they could offer, talk about poor customer service. Petsmart, you got me once but you'll never get me again.

The groom was not good. My poodle was adorable when she went in, but not so cute when she came out. I requested that they call me ASAP because I didn’t want my dog sitting in a cage scared because she is so tune that she gets nervous in places like that. I waited and waited. I went to the store at 9:00 because I knew they must be closing soon... The girl had put my dog in a small cage and continued cutting other dogs! I requested that the hair be plucked from her ears and she did not even do anything to her ears. After reading reviews and my experience, I would not return to PetSmart grooming at any location.

Dropped off last night. I had told them 3 different times that my dog required a muzzle to get his eye drops. "We can do that. It will be fine. Don't worry." I am getting ready to leave for the airport, "We can't use a muzzle on a dog this age and he bit me another bite and we can have him put down." Never ever ever going to buy anything from them again. I get all my food there all their snacks and for the cat. I would buy food off the street before I will ever use this place.
They had threatened my old dog, after he bit one of them after I told them to use a muzzle. "A muzzle might stress an older dog." Well picking up a prior abused dog and trying to drop eye drops in his eyes as a total stranger is much more stressful than putting a muzzle on him. The vet even approves the muzzle. I cried all night worrying about them and then I had to wake up my son to go get them because I had to be at the airport. If they couldn't do it they should have told me. Again I will never go to this godawful place again for any reason. If they were the last pet store on earth!!! Jerks. Threatened to have my dog put down.

Grooming scheduled and when we picked him up that said he had a seizure. It is our opinion that he was choked. The vet did not find that he had a seizure but was stressed to the point of shaking and drooling. I reported this to the BBB. The company would only call me during my work hours even after asking them to call at a different time. Worst experience ever with a pet.

I came in to get my cat food at the Mentor, OH store (9122 Mentor Ave, Mentor, OH 44060) after customer service canceled 3 of my orders. The cashiers instantly kind of glared at me as they usually do to all of the customers. When I got to the register with about 30 cans of wet food, I politely informed my cashier that the cans were .89 cents online and asked if she could price match them. She seemed irritated about having to adjust the price of about 12 cans of food out of the 30 and told me that "she didn't want to inconvenience the other customers by having them wait in line."
That's tough luck, you have a chalkboard in the entrance that says you guys price match your online prices (because you know full well they mark the prices up and then don't want to honor them.) She price matched the cans but gave me an attitude the whole time and barely spoke to me. There's another cashier that lives in the same complex as me and always makes it a point to give me the hardest time while checking out and trying to input my phone number.
Of course filing a complaint against her has done no good, and she is now starting to cause problems outside of the workplace on purpose after I come into the store. She'll purposely rev her engine right outside of my house at 1 am. What started as in store harassment has now become her harassing me in my own home. This company obviously employs people who can't be bothered to show any type of half decent people skills and it's ridiculous. I'll GLADLY take my business to Pet Supplies Plus.
