On 8-29-2019, I visited PetSmart in East Greenbush NY. Its mailing addresses is Rensselaer. I was looking for a particular brand and type of food for my dog, a yorkie, that we feed her. I was having trouble finding the product I was interested in. An employee by the name of Erica saw this and asked if I needed help, which I did. She checked the shelves with me and she to could not find the product. She then checked the back stockroom, no avail. She then called several other stores to see if they had the item I wanted. They did not. She then searched to see what the store offered that was similar to what we were using and advised me of a product that was close to it.

She was very helpful in helping me as well as patient with, and acted truly concerned, as to helping me meet my needs. I was extremely impressed with her treatment of me as a customer and her desire to assist me in making my visit to the store and helping me meet my needs. When I went to check out, the line to do so had numerous people in it. She immediately went to a closed register and proceeded to check out customers. Customer service like this will keep me and others coming back to this store. My receipt number is **.

I had an appt. at 1pm. When I showed up they said it was 1230. My card said 1 pm. So the girl couldn’t have been ruder. They turned me away. There were 5 people there working, well working is a stretch. They were doing nothing. I went to the manager who took the rude girl in the back and talked to her. They came out and said they were going to take me after all. I asked who the groomer was and they said the rude girl. No thank you, you are already the meanest person I've dealt with today. No way I’m trusting you with my dog. I don’t pay people with attitude to work for me. They had no interest in keeping my business.

I left my dog twice at Petsmart Hotel, and both times, my dog came home very stressed, bad smell and I noticed she lost weight. The last time they told me her bed cushion was wet with her pee, although she never did that at home. They offered to wash the cushion, and when I came back to pick it up, they couldn't find it. They told me there was nothing to do, because I signed a paper that says they were not responsible for lost items. They didn't even say they were sorry about. I am very disappointed and definitely not coming back.

If you love (or even like your dogs) NEVER NEVER take your dogs to PetSmart in Clifton Park for Grooming! Our Dogs are very calm but within 3 minutes of going into the grooming salon, our dogs were treated horribly. One of our dogs was made to wait in a back room while paperwork was "reviewed". The groomers (managers), untrained workers kept questioning my wife about the paperwork ALL CERTIFIED by a VET. Our Dogs are very upset which in turn makes me VERY ANGRY. Our Dogs go into puppy care daily and they love other dogs and people which clearly indicated that there is no training or love of pets at PETSMART. The name may be PetSMART but the workers are NOT SMART. BE SMART and NEVER GO TO PET "SMART". HORRIBLE IS THE NICEST THING I CAN SAY!

My Samoyed got skunked on Thursday night. I bathed her area of skunking (Head/mouth/eyes) twice but I could still smell skunk. I have my professional groomer that I take my dog to every 3 months. I called her but she was unable to remove the skunk smell so I called PetSmart. They were able to fit me in for 8am today.

When I was dropping her off, the young girl said her back legs are a little matted and may need a little shaving down. My groomer uses the term shave her bum and back legs close so I went with it. I said, "It’s ok if you need to do that. Let me know if you need to". She called me at 8:22 to say that she needed to. She said she would be giving her breaks so it would take approximately 3.5 hours. I thought that was a little long but my professional groomer usually takes around 3 hours. When it had been 4 plus hours, I called. They said another hour to 2. I thought this is ridiculous but I thought they were giving her extra breaks as she stated. I just wanted my baby home at this point. Finally they called after 7 hours. When I got there, I said I hope someone took her outside to go during this time. They didn’t know.

They didn’t seem right. The girl went to get her and when she was walking out, she had her eyes peeled on me to see my reaction. They had shaved my Samoyed head to toe. I almost went into shock. I started crying. They are not qualified to take care of pets if the people working there do not know never to shave a Samoyed. She has two layers of protection for a reason. Now she looks like a skinned rat. I am mortified by what they have done to my baby. I started to panic. There is absolutely nothing you can do at this point. You can’t put it back on. They said, "You gave us the ok to do this". I said, "Why on earth would I ever ok my Samoyed to be completely shaven". I would never do such a thing.

I have had her for 12 years and she has never been shaven. They knew that I gave the ok to fix up her back leg and shave down the bum area. That’s what my groomer always does. I never approved her to be completely shaved. Also she was only sprayed by the skunk in the face so why do you feel the need to completely ruin a dogs coat by shaving it all off. I am in shock. My dog is in shock. My whole family is devastated by this. We don’t know that it will ever grow back and if it does, what it will look like.

Don’t take your pet to Petsmart. They are not so smart. Poor Tessa. What a shame that they couldn’t have said hey “are you authorizing us to completely shave your dog head to toe?" Then I would have said, "WHAT, NO". They did not tell me or ask me if they could do this. The Manager knew they were in the wrong. She said, "You don’t need to pay. I can tell you are upset". I said, "Upset. I am fuming right now. What have you guys done".

Never go to Petsmart for grooming. We are very devastated by this occurrence and Tessa is very upset. It is not the same dog that I dropped off there. Something happened. Our theory is they started shaving, severely messed it up and kept going and then didn’t know how to fix her. So they decided to blame me. I can not believe how rude and nasty the Manager was. She said it was my fault that they needed to do this and I don’t take care of my dog. I love my dog and I normally take her to a professional groomer. So many regrets this weekend. I am just hoping her fur grows out ok and that she feels better tomorrow and is back to her old self. Not sad, like tonight.

I was dropping my dog Missy off for grooming when I saw a dog being hit in front of me on a grooming table. Because I had used the same groomer many times for my dog before and was a regular I think she made a mistake in front of me which I called her on. My dog I was dropping off is older and had been there many times before. When she was there she had a hard time standing for the grooming. So I had her after that taken to the vet for medications for inflammation, arthritis and pain meds for the problem. So later three weeks I called for an appointment for grooming at the Maplewood, MN location and they said, "no you are not allowed to bring your dog here again. Take her to a vet for grooming or put her down," I was told.

Saki's appt. was at 9:45 drop off. There at 9:15. They stated 4 hrs. which would be approx. 2:30 for p/u. At 3:00 they had done nothing for him. No tests of any kind, just sitting in his cage. I picked him up. I told them I would not allow him to sit all day because they overbook as it is all about money. I feel 4.5 hrs. is long enough. While I was waiting for Saki, they are still verifying in office appts. for 3:30 and later. They hadn't even finished with 22 other dogs that they booked at 9:45.

Basically the vet said Saki would have been there until 6:00-7:00. Which I asked for her to call. There is no way I will do that. It is hard enough on them. Canceling my membership with them and never going back. On top of all that the afternoon receptionist was rude. They are in trouble anyway. Might be filing for bankruptcy. My old vet I finally found again and I will be traveling a longer distance, but she treats animals very nicely and does her best to get them in and out as soon as possible.

I have a 1 yr old golden doodle... lively, friendly and a four legged hurricane. I took her to be groomed on June 27th 2019 at the Puyallup South Hill PetSmart groomers. I have had her groomed once before. No problems. This time the groomer said something was wrong with her ears. Bright Red coloration. This was not the case when she went in. Got home and she barfed up her entire morning meal. Then proceeded to scratch her ears and butt scoot all over the floor. Looked at her butt and the entire perianal region was razor-burned down to the skin and was red and bloody. Went to Vet. Had x-rays, blood work, the whole physical thing. Got meds for the ears and her butt along with tranquilizers to keep her quiet for a couple of days. All to the tune of $500.00. Very disappointed that the groomer did this to my dog. At least she said to have her ears checked. Vet said it was a allergic reaction to something put on her skin. Never going back again.

Until recently, when we needed to make or change an appointment, we called our local PetSmart. Now, you can only call an 800 number, at which time you are always told there will be a 20-minute wait. Every time you call. Then, after waiting that long, you can assume the customer rep won't actually do anything. So go online? Those appointments won't show up for 48 hours - by design. The staff - who are really great - say the online experience never works. So, if you can't call, and can't go online, what do you do? PetSmart is saving money with a terrible online platform and a centralized customer service line. Too bad - they've lost my money.

I didn't see this issue anywhere online regarding the PetSmart's Online store. There is a promotion running for Treats members where free shipping is offered for orders over $49 (before Taxes). In the promotion details it states that this discount is reflected in the Order Summary (after you have submitted the purchase.. go figure...). However in my experience, that didn't happen. Order summary showed a shipping charge and the pending charge for my bank showed the same total amount. This was for an order in June 2019.

I sent an email to PetSmart's customer service and got a reply a few hours later. Apparently what happened was a glitch (no details provided, not that I needed to know since the issue was on their end and their business to fix whatever defects in their software) and that they would be refunding the shipping charge. So as of now, I am awaiting that refund. Summary: Had an issue, I reached out, customer service responded accordingly. Just submitted this in case anyone else experienced the same. Giving 5 stars since as a developer I understand software isn't always perfect 100% of the time and got a quick response.

Worst experience I've had at a groomer ever. People who have seen her basically said she looked like a 3-year-old took some scissors to her. It's bad enough when your dog LOOKS awful - but when they are so traumatized they come home and sit in your lap for hours, and haven't completely recovered weeks later? This was not a first time grooming dog. She had been several times before without incident. We have no clue what happened, but were only told "she was crying and we couldn't finish." (They did, however, charge us for the service!) Yet this dog NEVER cries and LOVES to be brushed and handled.

After I calmed down, I reached out to customer service TWICE and have yet to receive anything other than a call from the groomer who left a voicemail message while I was at work - two WEEKS after it happened wanting to make sure "HE" was okay ... despite the fact that I had said many times it was a "SHE." The name isn't a big deal, but it's just a perfect example of the total lack of concern exhibited by everyone from corporate customer service who sent "canned" emails down to the local management, as far as I can tell. I was again promised a return call - never received it. I WAS offered $10 if I came in and spent $40. HA HA HA I will NEVER step foot in a PetSmart for ANY purpose ever again!

As a follow up - we took our poor baby to John Paul's in Grand Prairie after this fiasco. They were WONDERFUL, our dog was HAPPY and looked as beautiful as a poor shaved Bichon Frise can, and it was LESS expensive!!! Please do a better job than I did of researching PetSmart before you try them - the internet is replete with how horrible they are.

I purchased a bird cage from PetSmart's online store about a month ago, and can positively say I will never shop with them again. I selected 2 day shipping for my cage, yet the order was "processing" for FOUR DAYS. I figured there was something going on so I called their customer service line to get the situation solved, where they then informed me my cage was a "special order" but they hadn't gotten around to listing it as such on their site. This meant it would take 8-12 days to ship!! I needed the cage sooner than that and found the same cage on Amazon for $30 less and with same day shipping. I called again to cancel my order and they told me they could only "put in a request to cancel it" and that I would find out in 3-5 business days if it was cancelled.

10 DAYS LATER I got an email saying it was cancelled and that once the return processed I would be refunded. 2 WEEKS go by with no refund so I called them AGAIN. They said it had processed the week earlier and they don't know why I haven't received my refund. They put in a request for me to finally receive my refund and here I am, still waiting for it. This has been the worst customer service experience I've ever had, and I can't believe a business could be this unorganized. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE FROM HERE.

Nearly 2 months ago I purchased a black molly, red wag platy and cory catfish (against my better judgment because I had to notify a less than enthusiastic employee of dead fish in the tanks). As I had gotten them acclimated and settled in their new home, I noticed that their dorsal and tail fins were very opaque, and the platy actually was missing about 1/3 of his dorsal fin. The last thing I really expected upon buying new fish was having to treat them of a disease right away. Although I got the situation under control for a while, the cory catfish and black molly both took a turn for the worse despite all of the efforts I put into treating them. The catfish died, and my molly is seeming worse by the day with his lethargy and refusal to eat. The platy seems to be doing fine, however they should not have been sold with a disease that is among the most preventable - simply just a clean tank.

I was offered to return them for new fish, but I didn't want to simply return fish that would be resold or killed. I have put so much more money into trying to treat these fish than I paid for them, and while I'm more than happy to do that, it is simply absurd. They need to be stripped of their right to sell any living creature as they are incapable of hiring and training people how to care for them properly.

I love PetSmart. Don't get me wrong - but the only thing they need to do is stop selling parakeets that are too young! They shouldn't be sold before 8 weeks yet I see them in the store at 5-6 weeks old!!! The breeder/supplier should know better. Just in it for the money. Second of all, stop clipping the wings the wrong way! You clip the 1st 4 in on both sides. No more. They clip them all the way down and when the keets try to jump from one perch to another, they drop like lead. Go ahead and try it. Jump off the sofa and land directly on your stomach and see how it feels time after time. Clipping the 1st 4 lets them glide down so they don't hurt themselves. Either hire someone that knows what they are doing or don't do it at all.

So she want the same kind. While my hubby and daughter were there my hubby got me a fish too. It was a GloFish Moonrise Tetra and wouldn't you know both fish have die again. At this point we are gong to go and get are money back and never buy fish there ever again. Heck we have gotten fish at Wal-Mart and they have last 10 plus years. So you can guess where we will be buying our next fish from. I will say they have always been really nice there and the place is very clean considering that animals and people are coming and going from the store. (Mentor, Ohio)

Never do they talk to them to help calm them. Or pay much attention at all to how they are doing. It's nothing like the commercials that are on TV. Where the dog is happy to be there or the groomer is happy to see the dog. Because it's not that way. They handle the dogs rough. You can see the dog is nervous. But they don't care. It's just getting that paycheck. They need to be talked to and told to at least fake like they care. People how do you just believe you can trust them. We use to be able to trust things like that. Not anymore. At least stay and watch. That way they will have to be kind to your dog. Thank you. I hope this helps someone's dog.

I decided to let PetSmart Pet hotel board my 2 expensive bullies while I traveled to Destin FL for my wedding. My dogs are 2 and 1 yrs old. I have never had a problem with them boarding my older pet but my younger has never been boarded before. They were there for 6 days which must have been an awful experience for my younger pup. Once we picked them up it was obvious she had been left in urine for quite some time because her beautiful black and white coat was now black and yellow/brown from urine. I took her home and tried to shampoo her with whitening shampoo and that did not help. So I called PetSmart and spoke to someone, informed them of what happened and she agreed that when I brought her in her coat was Snow White and they should have never sent her home that way.

Although I did not request an exit bath which probably would not have helped anyway, they could have at least wiped her paws and neck off. They made her an appointment with the groomers and refunded me 1 day stay which I had to use to pay the groomers and then comped me a free day for each of my pets. To say the least after the groomers bathed her she is still discolored and the pet hotel said there is nothing else they could do but recommend I bath her several time with whitening shampoo. I am very frustrated because my dogs are really expensive, crate trained and have never been left in urine. They will never get my business again as my husband and I travel a lot throughout the year.

Charities and corporate - manager bullied until charity pulled out, now cats from another charity aren’t cared for well enough as there is tons of poop left in litter boxes at all times and the cats are in dirty environments.

Corporate doesn’t give a rip. Was on the phone with them for an hour about the situation, they tell you how much they care and that they will update you, but I never heard anything back about any situation. They don’t care about animals. Just money. This is sad to me. I used to donate to PetSmart charities every time I went in, but I will never return. I will take him to the vet to be treated. I don’t know she may have ruined him for any other groomers.

The two caregivers would bang a mop stick on the floor to stop the animals from barking and would spray the animals in the face with a water bottle to curb unwanted behavior. I contacted corporate who didn't get back to me until I followed up with two more phone calls. When the store manager called, he admitted this is what they do in the store to calm to dogs???? Please do your homework folks, do NOT drop your dogs off at PetSmart Doggy Daycare. It's a glorified caged environment and the dogs are being scared into submission. So sad!

Visiting Petsmart at the outer loop and others within the Louisville, KY area, we have found the lack of empathy and consistency in the lack of providing world class customer service to be the same across the board. After standing in the fish department for ten minutes we had to interrupt the associate from playing in the fish tank. Interested in the 125 gallon tank, there was no price and the associate had to locate the price. Then began to tell us the only "new" tank was the floor model and that is the only way they sell it. However in the next breath told us someone bought the one in the box in the back.

Maddie at the outer loop told us the cost of the tank and told us "take it or leave it". She had no respect for us as customers. We asked for a discount because it was the floor model, she told us "it's just dust, take it or leave it". We asked her for the manager, it took 10 minutes for another employee to come to the front. Maddie began to tell Courtney (the manager with no name tag) "they want the fish tank but they don't want that one". She spoke in a tone like we had to take the fish tank and were wrong as customers because we wanted it in a box. There was no protection for the tank nor the stand. Courtney didn't even want to speak to us until I asked her for her name and title. Then she repeated what Maddie said, "take it or leave it".

No empathy no care for me as a customer. More along the lines of, "Give me your money. Take the product. If you jack it up on the way home oh well." Who sells stuff like that? I'd rather spend my money someplace where they care about my wants and needs as a customer and the products I purchase from them. I would advise people to not use this company until they require their employees to undergo customer relationship training.

My review is about the grooming services of PetSmart Leaside. A typical charge for a small dog is about $54 dollars from Monday-Thursday, if you want to book on a weekend they will charge you extra money about 3-4 dollars. The biggest problem for me was that the groomer wanted the dog clean and no tangles. Obviously a dog will always have a tangle or two, however I was advise that I would have to pay about $20 dollars extra. At the end it would had end up close to $100 dollars after tax just for small dog grooming. Is this fair? I don't think a hairdresser from a well known salon charges that much for a haircut including blow dry. For sure they don't charge extra to book on a weekday or if you have a tangle or messy hear.

The worst part of my experience is that when I express my dissatisfaction with the groomer, she confronted me, making me feel discriminated because I am not like the rich people in the area as I am complaining about the extra charge. Yes I take care of every penny I spend, but I also pay when it is fair. In this situation it was unfair as my dog had no tangles in a way that will required extra work for the groomer, and the way the lady responded. Of course I was feeling treated unfair so I was doubting proceeding with the service. The groomer view was take it or leave it, of course that was the attitude as they feel supported by the monopolistic power of the company they represent. She asked me to find another groomer and that I should never come back there and thank me for making her waste her time.

I told the groomer that I had given him an anti-anxiety med right before the visit. She said they could not groom him because of the prescription medicine. What? Many animals take anti-anxiety medicine. I think they should just let you sign a waiver. The medication had already been given, so canceling the appointment was useless. If this is their policy, have a sign that states that. I was late to work because I had to return my dog to my home.

The products are always available at both places. Hours are convenient at PetSmart, and delivery of pet food is usually between one and two days at chewy.com. There is very little personal service at PetSmart, so I don't go to gain knowledge about pet food, harnesses versus leashes, or treats. I can read online reviews at chewy.com, and I do before I buy a particular product. The reviews are very helpful in determining how to meet pet needs that are outside veterinarian care.

I have gone to three different independent pet food stores in Austin. While service clerks tried to be helpful, they were not as informative as chewy.com reviews. They also did not carry the specialty dog and cat foods that three of my pets require. I do prefer to shop local and independent businesses. I have chronic back pain, so having big bags of dry food and cases of canned food delivered to my door by chewy.com is a really valuable service. They are also very fast to process an order; typically, not more than one or two days. Otherwise, I don't buy grocery items online.

Their recommendations were for a gummy treat that definitely doesn't help tartar build-up. When shopping for a simple acrylic sweater, I only found a wide assortment of coats for our dog. She needed an acrylic sweater for indoor use, for the chilly nights just after a clipping. Dog food is another area of wide choices, but few with all-natural ingredients. It's a nice atmosphere, well-planned with good staff but the choices could include the non-standard fare.

Now she told me it would be 2.5 hours to do because of drying time, which I thought a little strange, but okay. Came back 2.5 later...my dog could barely walk. I had to lift my dog and place him in the back of my truck through the back tailgate...because no way was he jumping in like he usually did through the front seat. And had to lift him out when we got home.

He did walk on his own into our unit, but with much difficulty, and is now lying at the end of my bed on the floor and won't move. Even when I ran the vacuum over the carpet (Which he is terrified of)...no movement. He has gotten up once to get a drink, but is back in the same spot. He won't even take one of his favorite treats. Not sure what they have done to him, whether they shoved him sideways or forced him down or what, but if he doesn't improve by morning, or later this evening...it's off to the vets. And if I'm told he has some damage done...then I warned Petsmart that I would be back with the bill and a lawyer. I will NEVER, EVER take him back there.

I have heard repeatedly that PetSmart doesn't allow pitbulls in the doggy day camp. Finally verified that information and I am very disappointed. As a pitbull owner, I know first hand that the breed does not determine the behavior or temperament. The fact that this policy is based off of incorrect and misinformed opinions about how pitbulls are supposedly aggressive shows the lack of respect you have for animals to even give them a chance. I have been attack and bitten many times by multiple Chihuahuas for no reason other than the Chihuahua was just aggressive. My pitbull, and the multiple pitbulls I have known throughout my life have never once bitten me, growled at me, or even attacked me.

Every single one of them were the sweetest and most loving dogs I have ever met. Yet, they are not allowed in the doggy day camp but are allowed in the store on a leash. The behavior of an animal is learned by the way they are raised from a puppy. Even still, I have known multiple pitbull rescues that were actual fighting dogs and every single one of them were calm, loving, and gentle to me and to other dogs. PETCO doesn't have the policy that PetSmart has and views dogs as equal. Save your money, shop at the judgment free store. PETCO is better.

Initially I didn't fault the groomer - she was a little too preoccupied with her own reflection in the mirror - but my dog is large and accidents happen. However, I felt it was important to address, they need to make a safer process for larger dogs, but they are not taking it seriously and someone else's dog could be seriously injured. Within the past three years I have attempted to adopt 2 pets through the Biddeford, Maine PetSmart store. A female betta fish and a male mouse. Both animals have had health complications and today my betta fish died from unknown causes. We just adopted her and she should have been completely healthy with the care I have been giving to her. My male betta fish (Red Foreman, in separate enclosures and adopted from another pet store ) is in great health and is happy right now.

The female betta, (Blue) seemed to be struggling a little since we got her home, I assumed she would pull through though which was apparently not the case. It may have just been a fish but I had already become attached, and now she's dead. My male mouse (Buddy) that we adopted from PetSmart had to be returned due to skin lacerations made by the mouse chewing his skin off! They adopted him to me with a skin infection! Another animal I got attached to and had to deal with losing. All they wanted to do was have me purchase another one, haha nope.

On another note, some food products bought at PetSmart make my animals sick. Store representatives have pointed out and handed me items of great value stating they are great for my pets and in fact, only made them sick! My male betta was introduced to a bloodworm that made his eyesight go for a short period of time, now he won't even touch bloodworms and they used to be his favorite. When asked about it, the associate simply stated, 'oh, uh... I dunno?' So we returned the remainder of the product and got the money back. Did not care about my animal at all! I have a male hamster (Kevin), adopted from a family friend and he likes to chew a lot, obviously. Same thing with the associate finding the most expensive treats and toys for him.

When I gave the toys to him, he seemed to avoid them all together like they stunk or something. For two days I gave him the treats and slowly we noticed him getting more and more aggressive. I went to feed him a treat again on the third day and he actually bit my hand which had never happened before. Fed daily, plus extra fresh fruits and veggies, loved unconditionally, and an enclosure as big as a large barn style kitchen table there is absolutely no reason for him to have felt the need to bite me. After stopping the treats completely, he seemed to calm down a bit. It took about a day and a half but he was back to his old self. Never again will I shop at PetSmart. I have given too many chances and I am done with my animals being harmed and killed. Not worth it.

We recently adopted an 8 month old kitten from PetSmart on Gateway Dr in Fredericksburg, VA. We submitted the application, answered follow up questions, agreed to a home inspection (that never happened), and were approved within a week. We purchased food, bedding, toys, and cat climbers in preparation. We arrived at the store, at the correct time, to take possession of the kitten. After the foster mother, Marion, bragged about her work ethic, and how many hours she'd been there already, she then, chose to mention a lump on the kitten's ear. She let us know that we cant take her home, that she needs to be seen by a vet first. Our only issue, at this time, was that she failed to inform us before we made the hour long trip.

Three days later, after several messages were left, we heard back from her. The kitten had ringworm and needed to be kept another 3 weeks. During this time, we asked about her progress several times. Almost 5 weeks later, we are told that she still has ringworm and now ear mites. We insisted on taking possession and after a terse conversation, the foster mother agrees to release her into our care. We arrive at PetSmart before the foster mother, which allowed us to see her pull the cat from her trunk!! The cat, smelled horrible. She had feces stuck everywhere on her body. The ringworm was not only on her ear, but her entire throat was hairless and covered in it.

We arrive home and give her a bath. That is when we discovered how emaciated she was. Her fur was dull and so thin, that you could see her skin through it. Her bones were sticking out, even her ribcage was noticeable through the fur. This kitten had matted fur across her belly and under her arms. The poor thing didn't know how to climb, and when we put her on the bed, she had no idea how to get down. We took her to our vet for treatment. She was riddled with worms, ear mites, and ringworm. They will be sedating her to remove the matted fur. The foster mother is abusing these animals, and Petsmart is complicit. Our kitten was kept in a filthy cage, while in their care. She was forced to lay down, which is how her fur matted. How dare PetSmart allow disgusting, ignorant people like Marion, to foster innocent animals? How dare they.

I was trying to explain to her that the toy broke the 1st day my Rat Terrier played with it. She interrupted me saying she's not arguing no further and she's not taking the toy back. I asked her why did she say we're arguing when I was only trying to find out who should I contact to return the toy. Then she just walked away ignoring what I was saying. That's when I got her name. I don't know what kind of store she's running but she just lost a loyal customer.

I boarded my cat at Fremont PetSmart (PetsHotel) for the Christmas 2018. I went to pick him up today 26th Dec 2018, And after paperwork and payment, he was brought out in his kennel. When asked for paperwork, I was told it was not recorded. We came home and I opened the kennel to let him out and the cat just ran upstairs, which is very unusual for our cat. I went behind him to make sure he’s ok and was shocked to see that I was given a different pet. I called up PetSmart to let them know of their goof-up and check on my pet to make sure he was at the premises. They kept me waiting on the call instead of updating me on my pet's status. I took this cat back to the PetSmart to bring ours back. The staff not only downplayed the whole incident they also made a statement that this is very common.

I asked them for the paperwork and that had my pet's name, I questioned that how can they just put another pet in the kennel without checking the name, they had no answer to this except claiming this kind of mix up happens. Though I know it is not acceptable as PetSmart is a corporation and they should have the guidelines for the safety of the pets, I was happy to get my cat back home. To the pet parent whose cat was in kitty cottage 611 on Dec 26th 2018 and came to my home briefly - I tried to make him comfortable as much as possible but he was terrified. I can never imagine something like this happen to my cat, he’s part of family. Due to their irresponsible justification - Petsmart just lost a customer.

On Friday Nov. 16 I brought my two dogs to PetSmart for a bath and nail trim, one is a 13 year old Jack Russell, and the other is a 7 year old black Lab. Three hours later I pick them up. The Jack Russell is a shivering wreck. He loses interest in food and water, and a few days later begins passing bloody stools while we are on a trip to visit family for Thanksgiving. We check him into an emergency vet clinic, and unfortunately on Thanksgiving morning we have to euthanize him. The vet cannot determine what happened to him (ultrasound diagnostics couldn't find anything wrong in his abdomen/chest). PetSmart corporate says "We are sorry, but since there are no cameras in the grooming area, and there was no necropsy performed, the findings are inconclusive." I have since found out that there seem to be a lot of "incidents" involving PetSmart Grooming. Wish I had never gone there.

The new one is the gift from my friend last night. Then I went to the store which located in Bridgeport Rd in Richmond. The fish area manager is a young man, he came to ask me for my requirement. He said it is a “policy”, I cannot buy fish for my new tank for how many days, I also need to show him the tank picture to him... He is really very rude, not friend, bossy to everyone, whatever staff or customer. He is neither professional nor enough knowledgeable. I asked him to show me the “policy”. I get all my food there all their snacks and for the cat. I would buy food off the street before I will ever use this place.

They had threatened my old dog, after he bit one of them after I told them to use a muzzle. "A muzzle might stress an older dog." Well picking up a prior abused dog and trying to drop eye drops in his eyes as a total stranger is much more stressful than putting a muzzle on him. The vet even approves the muzzle. I cried all night worrying about them and then I had to wake up my son to go get them because I had to be at the airport. If they couldn't do it they should have told me. I came in to get my cat food at the Mentor, OH store (9122 Mentor Ave, Mentor, OH 44060) after customer service canceled 3 of my orders. The cashiers instantly kind of glared at me as they usually do to all of the customers. When I got to the register with about 30 cans of wet food, I politely informed my cashier that the cans were .89 cents online and asked if she could price match them. She seemed irritated about having to adjust the price of about 12 cans of food out of the 30 and told me that "she didn't want to inconvenience the other customers by having them wait in line."

That's tough luck, you have a chalkboard in the entrance that says you guys price match your online prices (because you know full well they mark the prices up and then don't want to honor them.) She price matched the cans but gave me an attitude the whole time and barely spoke to me. There's another cashier that lives in the same complex as me and always makes it a point to give me the hardest time while checking out and trying to input my phone number.

Of course filing a complaint against her has done no good, and she is now starting to cause problems outside of the workplace on purpose after I come into the store. She'll purposely rev her engine right outside of my house at 1 am. What started as in store harassment has now become her harassing me in my own home. This company obviously employs people who can't be bothered to show any type of half decent people skills and it's ridiculous. I'll GLADLY take my business to Pet Supplies Plus.

Banfield staff members became arrogant, loud & refused to take our dog & needed to be rescheduled. Maybe staff members should spend more time working rather than smoking in front of the building. We as consumers do not need to be treated unfair & humiliated. My wife gave them no reason to raise their voices & treat her with disrespect.

Petsmart needs to stand by its products & services. You need to hire well qualified, trained & reliable staff and/or business partners. This was unprofessional & humiliating to the consumer. We dropped my female Goldendoodle off for her grooming appt. After they worked on her for 20 min, I received a phone call that she had some mats that they wanted to shave down to her skin. I had noted in her appt notes that she has chronic earaches and to be careful around that area, as she’s very tender. One of the spots they wanted to shave was her ear. I gave them permission to shave the other areas, but not her ear. I told them that I would deal with the mat myself after she was done and back home.

They said I had to come and get her now. They said corporate policy is that they cannot bathe a dog with any mats. I said I was okay with the mat getting worse from the bathing and to please bathe her. The groomer said, "Come get your dog now." I asked to talk to the manager. I told her that I was good with them washing her, even with the mat. She rudely and abruptly interrupted and said, "Come get your dog now." I told her I was on my way.

In addition to this, I had a second appointment scheduled for my male doodle for that same afternoon. Nothing was said at drop off that there was an issue with his appointment. Before the phone call from them about the mat, I received a call from the store that they were completely booked and did not know how I was about to make the appointment. I said it showed 4 consecutive appointments available at booking. She said it was a corporate error and I would have to reschedule for another day. I rescheduled for the following day and cancelled my other plans.

After leaving PetSmart with my female, and no call or discussion, PetSmart cancelled my appointment for my male. The last time I was there for grooming, earlier this summer, I was told that they would need to shave my male completely down to bald because he had too many mats. They hadn’t even tried to brush him. I had to beg them for 10 min to try to brush him out without shaving him down, even if I had to pay extra for the time. They reluctantly agreed.

After picking him up, they said they had no idea it was going to be that easy and that most of the mats just slid right out. They hadn’t even tried before they told me they were going to have to shave him. If I hadn’t pushed, he would've been shaved unnecessarily. Today, after I got my female home, all it took was a couple of cuts into the mat to loosen it and the whole mat in her ear slide out. PetSmart, please train your groomers and your managers. Poor grooming service and even worse handling by the grooming manager.

I was told by the cashier that PetSmart does not carry that battery and without a receipt they would not exchange it. I told the young cashier that PetSmart is the only place I buy batteries for my dog and even gave a description of the employee that checked me out that day and what register they were working. She then told me I probably purchased it from Walgreens and just forgot.

I insisted it was purchased at their store which is when she went to fetch her manager. He agreed with her and told me I was probably mistaken and did not buy it there. The young cashier kept saying “ever since I have worked here we have NEVER carried that battery”. She kept insisting I bought it at Walgreens. Really? Why Walgreens?! Their response led me to believe they thought I was a liar and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Unfortunately for PetSmart they have lost a loyal customer over a $10 battery. Luckily for me there is a Petco within driving distance of my home. I guess in the end the customer is always right.

First informals never ever take your dog to Petsmart grooming. I have a 3 pound Chihuahua. Every time we go in there she shakes. She just not want to stay and there has been many times that she comes back home depressed, does not want to eat, is afraid to go outside and I always have to build her up after a grooming visit there. I am positive that there is something going on behind closed doors. These groomers are unprofessional! My last visit there was rude and an eye-opener. The lady at the front desk got my dogs information that was incorrect in their system and were laughing and gossiping in the back while they had dogs on top of the grooming station!

One groomer was letting the dog just sit there and cry for half of the time as she complained of how he dislikes getting groomed. For one it is your job to come for the dog and make him feel safe about combing! As I am writing this, my dog is still shaking and is feeling a little uncomfortable. It’s sad to see people like this work for chains that all they care about is making money and not the safety of dogs! Best advice I can give is take your dog to a local family owned groomer or have someone come over your home!

I took my dog (Maltese, 8lbs., 3 years old) to PetSmart Hotel in Johns Creek, GA. on Peachtree Pkwy for a 4 day overnight stay. The very first day, I received a phone call saying that he had a small cut under his eye and it was also stated that he played with other dogs. My dog is not supposed to play with other dogs because he is not neutered. So, failure #1: apparently they did not read his records and failure #2: what was going on that he received a cut under his eye. They did ask if I wanted to take him to Banfield Hospital located in PetSmart, but I told them to watch him over the next couple of days. Of course they tried to say the cut wasn't bad to save themselves. At that point, I couldn't do much because I was on my way out of town. I called back the next day to check on him. I was told he was very snappy so the staff didn't have a chance to take him out. Failure #3, this is an eight pound, small dog who can't do anything but bark.

No one has ever complained about taking him out for a walk because he is snappy. I also wanted my dog to have a bath when I picked him up. When I get to the hotel at 7:30 AM, I was told my dog did not have a bath because "he didn't like them very much". They also had the nerve to say, this must be his first time here. Okay, it’s clear they don't pay attention to the records at all because they would have seen that he has been to this particular PetSmart Hotel before and I never had issues like this. I also I did not receive the pamphlet on how he did during his stay. I will be getting him seen by a veterinarian asap. If my dog has some serious health issues behind this stay, corporate office/management will be hearing from my attorney. Very Dissatisfied Customer.

I was having difficulty with leash training for my Husky mix. We usually don't care for choke or prong collars, but we had tried harnesses and leather collars and she chewed them up while she was wearing them and even during walks. So we bought a Top Paw choke chain, thinking she can't chew it up, right? well, it broke. At first it didn't occur to me that this was a bad quality product, even though my dog is only 50 lbs. So I went back to PetSmart and bought a prong collar. I bought it in the store, so I didn't think of reading the online reviews which was a big mistake. I fitted the collar according to the tag "rest gently on the neck" not too tight, not too loose.

But the links in the collar just came apart during a walk, which resulted in my dog running into traffic and getting killed by a truck. The collar didn't break, it just unclasped, and my dog wasn't pulling hard, she was barely putting any force at all. When I started looking into it, I found that I am not the only one. Some people have had this specific collars fitted by professional trainers and it would still come apart, some people say they have tried other brands and this problem is only with Top Paw, many people have had their dogs run off because of this issue and PetSmart has known about it for over a year.

They know this is a safety issue and they haven't done anything about it, not even a label on the collar to advise of this safety concern so that people take the necessary precautions. When I contacted PetSmart about it they tried to blame it on me, saying the collar comes with an user guide that explains this, which is a lie. The collar does not come with a warning nor an user guide, the tag in the collar says you can buy additional tips separately as if a safety warning is optional to provide. They don't care about the safety of our pets, they only care about making money. I understand it is a business and businesses need money, but no matter what, you cannot sell products that are unsafe and much less without a warning.

And these collars are not even the only unsafe product sold at their stores. There is a large quantity and variety of bones that are unsafe and can easily kill a dog, I never buy them because as a Veterinary Assistant I know the dangers of those products. But not everyone knows about it, just like I didn't know about their brand of collars. And just like many others I trusted PetSmart and their products with the safety of my babies, but unfortunately they don't care about safety and continue to sell bad quality and dangerous products.

Purchased at PetSmart. Warning label nearly impossible to read and does not say the bone can be shredded, thus a dog can ingest very sharp & hard shards. In took about two minutes for my 36-38 lb. lab mix to ingest half of the bone and then hours later, vomit. Largest shard was 2.5"x.5". It was one among several, along with undigested ball shaped bone wads. After an online check (i.e FDA, Dentley products, and my vet office) these can embed themselves anywhere along the digestive system (hopefully she didn't). Contacted PetSmart, forwarded pictures, requested the warning label be rewritten in readable font and for PetSmart to voluntarily remove the femur bone from their stores. They would not.

I've had my medium-haired cat shaved at PetSmart for the past two years. I made an appointment about two weeks ago for this morning at 7:30, bundled the cat into her carrier and headed to PetSmart. Checking her in, I produced her rabies vaccination certificate, and was asked if she has any health problems. No, I said. Then I was asked if she had a heart murmur. She has been diagnosed with a slight murmur -- but so have I and no one tells me I can't run ultramarathons or anything.

So I said, yes, but she's not on treatment for it because it's not serious. And they refused to shave her. I said, ok, what if I told you she doesn't have a heart murmur, and they said, no, can't do it. The question is -- why didn't they ask these questions when I made the appointment? And why don't they have a waiver or indemnification clause? I've had the same thing done twice before with no problem. They must've had a cat die on them and then blamed it on a heart murmur. Ridiculous. I"m going to start shopping for dog food and cat food and turtle food by mail.

PetSmart in Valley Stream. Joan ** was the groomer. Incompetent is the kindest thing that comes to mind, but dishonest is more like it. I said not to shave my dog. I said if she couldn't comb out the mats, to leave them. I could not have been more clear. After telling me it would take a long time -- up to 4 hours -- to comb out the mats and pricing the grooming at $80, she texted me in an hour and three-quarters to tell me my dog was ready. Of course she used clippers on the matted areas but passed it off as if she hadn't. Like so many people who are upset with groomers, I just wanted to get my dog away from her. What was there to say anyway? Now I'll have to apply sun screen to my dog's freckled skin to prevent sunburn. Grooming 101? There's a reason dogs have hair. 102? Listen to the owner or decline the job.

The girl we normally have was not going to be there. We really needed her hair cut so we were willing to have her cut once by someone else. I took her in for her appointment. 3 hours went by. No phone call so I went to see what was going on. Baby was still in back. I ask what was going on (there no other dogs there). It was a eve appointment. They would not tell me anything but I could hear my baby crying. I ask to see her. They wouldn't. I got the women assistance of the store. She was rude. Talk to me awful. I insisted on seeing her. She had been there over 3 hrs. They finally brought her out. She had never been groomed yet. I ask for my money back and took my baby with me. She was traumatic for her.

Called PetSmart/Banfield regarding my dog's ear infection. I explained to the receptionist that my dog would absolutely not let anyone examine her and that we've been down that road before. (Previously, I had to swab my dog in order for them to run the lab work) so taking her in for an examination is a waste of my time unless the plan is to put her to sleep for a simple ear examination... I told her that I'd misplaced the ear drops and never completed the cycle hence why she is displaying the same exact symptoms, mind it has only been about 2.5 weeks since her ear infection was diagnosed.

I asked if they could please provide a new Rx since it was pretty clear it never healed properly. I called about 5 p.m., was told they'd speak to the Dr. and someone would call me back. I called again "before they close" around 6:20 p.m....the receptionist stated Dr. is still there and that I would get a call back around 7. The receptionist (not the Dr.) called back and stated Dr. would need to see my dog in order to make a determination whether she would require same med, etc.

I told the girl once again that my dog will NOT let anyone examine her, and if I could speak with the Dr...at this point she had already became defensive and her tone was altered, she proceeded to place me on hold, came back and said Dr. is now off the clock and there's nothing she could do and ended call. I tried calling back and of course once place is closed, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of anyone, not even management.

The point to my review here, is that the Dr. could not take one minute out of her day to speak with me regarding my dog. The customer service turns ugly if you don't follow their protocol of "nickel and diming" the customer. I've gone to PetSmart Banfield for some years now for my cats, turtle and recently for my German Shepherd. I've always looked the other way when they came at us with their nickel and diming, but now it's different, my German Shepherd is in pain and the Dr. could not even take the time to speak with me.

Isn't that their job? To care for animals? If you don't appreciate your job as an animal caregiver then leave. Pets are our just like our children and if I called Kaiser and asked to speak with my sons Dr. and she told me she was off the clock and refused to get on the phone with me, that would be completely absurd, right? PetSmart along with Banfield has lost a customer.

I am a certified, professional dog trainer. I am the President/Trainer for Shelter Dogs For Veterans, Inc. We are a 501c3 nonprofit that pulls dogs from kill shelters and trains them for veterans suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). Today, May 12, 2018 at 2:30 pm. I was with a group of individuals with six (6) dogs who are training to be Therapy Dog and Service Dogs. It was their graduation day prior to taking the Canine Good Citizen test.

We were at the PetSmart located at 1810 Cumming Highway, Ste 12, Canton, GA 30114. I also had my Service Dog, Pepper, with me. We had the dogs there to SHOP for treats, harnesses, toys and food for the dogs for a job well done. We also wanted to socialize them. I had just completed a class at my facility and still had my work shirt on that said Paws Be Good on it with my name badge that said Trainer. Not one of the dogs with us caused any kind of a scene, barked, growled or made a noise. All were quiet, sitting or lying down and quietly as they had been instructed and trained to do so months before.

When we entered the store I told everyone to go to the back of the store to start so we were not in anyone’s way. We all stopped in the back briefly by the dog grooming area. I told everyone to put their dog in a sit and focus. We were chatting with each other for a minute before we started shopping. The next thing I know, a man in a blue shirt waved at me from about five feet away and said, “Can you come over here so I can talk to you?” I had no idea who he was. He didn’t introduce himself. I approached him and the first thing he said was “You are going to have to leave, we already have a trainer here.”

I was stunned and looked at him. I had no idea who he was or what he was talking about. I then noticed the PetSmart emblem on his shirt. I assumed he worked there. I didn’t know what to say. I told him “we are just here socializing our dogs”. He then again said “We already have a trainer here.” I said, “Yes I know, we are only socializing our dogs, some are service dogs. We were going to shop too.” He then said, “our trainer is training right now, we have a trainer here.” I still didn’t understand what this had to do with us. He then pointed to an older woman who was walking with a young man and a dog down one of the aisles. I am very familiar with the store as I have shopped there many times. The store’s training area is up in the front left of the building. He then asked me “How long are you going to be here?” I responded to him “we will be leaving in about 30 minutes”.

I figured that was how long It would take everyone to purchase their items. He said to me, “No, you have to leave now. We can’t have this kind of thing going on”. I was so shocked and embarrassed. We didn’t do anything wrong. I then told everyone we needed to leave. They ALL heard the conversation between this man and myself. As we were leaving, I said to the others I would be shopping in Dalton from now on. Everyone else said to him that they wouldn’t be shopping there any longer either.

As I was leaving I realized I didn’t even know who this man was. I went back on my own and asked his name. He said it was **. He still did not indicate his status or that he was an employee. The only way I knew that he was an employee was that he was wearing a PetSmart shirt. I asked him “are you the manager.” He said “Yes”. I said “OK, thank you.” I immediately turned to leave. He started following me and again said, “If you had contacted us earlier we could have worked something out.” I didn’t know what he meant. Do all your customers have to ask permission to come in with their dogs and shop? I thought dogs were welcome in PetSmart.

Are other dog trainers not allowed to come in your stores with people who happen to also be their clients to shop or socialize their dogs? Once again, we were there to SHOP and socialize our dogs. We were having a fun outing the day of their graduation. I said to him “these are service dogs in training, I didn’t know you were training service dogs here.” He continued to follow me and he said, “if you had contacted me we could have worked something out, but you just want to attack me.” I had no idea what he was talking about. At no time did I ever raise my voice or say anything negative to him. He was the one that continued to follow and harass me. Everything I have written above is factual and how it transpired. There are five (5) other witnesses that heard it all. They were as dumbfounded as I was over what occurred. They all commended me on my calmness and professionalism.

You can rest assured I will never enter that store again nor will I ever send another individual there to shop. I have sent hundreds of clients and individuals to your store in the past. I will let everyone know how you treat other trainers and customers. By the way, two of the individuals with me were Veterans with their dogs. I sure hope you don’t treat all veterans this way.

The two PetSmart locations near me (Mechanicsville VA & Glen Allen VA) are horrible at caring for the animals they sell. I have two 60 gallon freshwater fish tanks and a 55 gallon saltwater tank. First of all, it sucks that they don't sell saltwater, but my main concern is the freshwater fish they do sell. I usually buy my fish from a local pet store where I live, they closed earlier this year. I have been in both of the PetSmart near me and can never seem to find any help. They are educated at all with any fish knowledge, they don't take care of the tanks there, and they will sell you just about any diseased fish they can just to get you out of there. I bought 2 angelfish from there, they ended up having ICK- killed everything in my tank, Over 1,000 dollars worth of fish. I redid my tank, and figured things like that happen sometimes and maybe they didn't know. So I bought more fish from there, they ended up all having cotton fungus - killed all of them but one.

I have spent so much money in treatments to heal these fish and they still end up dying. I bought a few cheap fish just to try out again - they were dead before I got them home. The last time I went in there almost half out the fish in the tanks were dead, one even jumped out of a tank and was laying there flopping until I picked it up, the guy was just standing at the little table on his phone texting. If PetSmart isn't going to take care of the animals they sell then they really shouldn't sell them. It's such a shame to see all these fish that die because of poor maintenance and uneducated employees. I am very disappointed and upset that I spend so much money on these fish and treatments and now I have nothing, no fish. Maybe I will have better luck with Petco.

We took our two standard poodles in for full grooming. I asked for a puppy cut for both dogs but the instructions must never have made it to the individual groomers. One dog’s face was heavily scraped by cutting much to close to the skin. And her tail looked like a bottle brush, huge and thick compared to the rest of the cut. The other dog, the male, had his tail cut nearly down to the skin. In short, this was the worst grooming job we have ever had - particularly on the female (Rosie), and we have had standard poodles professionally groomed for 15 years. PetSmart is fine for purchases of supplies and food - we regularly shop there - but we will return to another professional groomer. My advice: stay away from PetSmart’s Reston grooming salon. PetSmart management should refund at least one half of the amount spent on the female: $97.00 but crediting the credit card used in this transaction.

I picked up my pet after her grooming, and from the moment we entered home and saw her sitting, noticed that she had extremely heavy breathing. Her entire head would move, her mouth was open and it was terrifying. I took her for an appointment at the Bradford hospital within PetSmart for the following morning. They ran tests and pinned it on her own condition of a heart murmur. But truthfully, something in her grooming experience is what triggered all this.

She is on medication now. It's been months, but the dryers is what I believe triggered her breathing problem. PetSmart should never do grooming again because coming on this site, I realized and learned how many pets leave with this condition, some even falling victim to death. PetSmart didn't take responsibility and didn't even take initiative to account for the hospital visit that all started there. I truly believe, that no pet owner should leave their pets with the grooming service here. It's such a huge risk. My pet is on lifelong medication now. Even if it was a predisposed condition, it was all triggered with the experience at the groomers here.

I wrote to PetSmart customer service and explained that she is blind and won't walk on leash. PetSmart sent it to the store manager who said, "Sorry it is the new policy," and they will never groom her again because she won't walk on a leash back to the cages. So now I have to find a new groomer. This is the Brandon Florida PetSmart on State Road 60 and the manager is Sandra. Please avoid PetSmart. They are uncaring and heartless. I was so thrilled that they could work my dog in on a Saturday and asked if I could just drop him off due to having a meeting, they said YES, even better I thought... WRONG!! I arrived and got our dog back to the grooming department... a different lady checked us in then who I made the appointment, she was irritated I was early and that I would be leaving him and tried to tell me I couldn’t... but the lady I made an appointment with spoke up and told me it was okay... I was pleased at this point.

About 15 min after I left the nightmare began. I got a phone call as I was about to step in my meeting that they rushed the dog to the Banfield Vet because our dog threw up blood and couldn’t breathe. I was in complete shock, he’s young and had been to the vet the prior week with a NO health issues at all and I’ve never had issues with him. I canceled my meeting and flew up there. When I arrived the vet came out and spoke with me. I really have no complaints with the VET. She was very nice and informative and I do believe she did her best. When I got to see him... his eyes were bloodshot, his tongue had lost most coloring and he was on oxygen... the VET thought it was an infection etc. His airways were swollen.

I knew he wasn’t sick. Took him home and monitored him very closely. About 2 hrs later he was acting much more normal. Another medical person looked at him the following day and the only thing that can seems plausible is that someone drug him by a leash/collar as he had a welp and hot spot develop that was not there upon dropping him off. We never use a collar on him as he doesn’t do well with them.

I guess this - today was my last day at PetSmart. They no longer help customers. I saw in the news, that 3 dogs had died in the grooming area since January this year. Maybe they are going downhill. I did buy Freshpet from them - and I now buy it across the street at ShopRite - with a much better expiration date (4 months instead of 3 weeks) and it's half the price NOT ON SALE.

I was at the Route 31, Liverpool, NY location. The staff are friendly and manager is very helpful. Be careful of grooming. Grooming is ok. The first time we brought our dog there he was perfect but second time not so much. Wanted to stay and wait to watch our dog get groomed for the second time there. Was not very happy with how they treated our dog. Our dog is blind and we warned them that he gets riled up when touching certain areas. I guess that groomer was not told because we saw him getting riled up toward the end and saw the groomer getting angry at our dog.

Our dog gets riled up when touched on the ears but was told that he was being “nasty” when touched on his feet and tail. According to the paper they gave us they did not finish everything we wanted and still had to pay $70. I saw my dog get treated not very nicely and it was sickening to watch. When they finally gave up and gave me back my dog I just wanted to leave and take my dog away from them. Be careful when taking your dog here for grooming because depending on who gets to groom your dog they can do great or not.

I am writing this review in regards to the Grooming at PetSmart Santa Ana, Ca. My daughter had just walked in to pick up our dog from getting their nails trimmed when she saw our Springer Spaniel hanging off the harness. The groomer was not near our dog. Our dog is 14 years old. My daughter called me immediately and I went down there. I demanded that the vet check our dog out since she was hanging and anything can happen. The manager was very unprofessional in the way that he presented himself and said it was my daughter's word against the groomers. We have been going there for 10 years and never had a problem. This was unfortunate. We just wanted to make sure our dog was okay and that the incident was documented in their store and that his groomers were given training about leaving a dog unattended. He would not document the incident and said that was not their policy. They did take care of the vet bill. We will never be going back.

I had a surprise delivery today. It was a prescription for my dog. Supposedly I had it on Autoship for every 6 months (which I don't recall doing). I called PetSmart customer service. I asked if I could return the product, still wrapped. He said no. Then I asked if they could match another site's price, or at least give me a credit. All he kept saying was, "we can't return prescriptions", and "we can't price match prescriptions." Then he just kept repeating himself. I don't need this prescription, and the other site was $15 less!!! This is very frustrating to me. I had been a long time PetSmart customer, but I will be one no more! The person on the phone told me he had a infection and needed a treatment. It cost $77.00. I ask if there a cheaper treatment that we could do. He got very loud and told us his way was the best way. I ask him again if there was cheaper way to go. He was now screaming at on through the phone. I then ask him his name. He said it was Brain. I ask him to speak to a vet. He was still yelling at me and told me he was a vet. assistant. I then ask him and a cheaper treatment. He told me yes there was but it is not as good as the treatment that they would do.

I then ask him three times what did the treatment involved. He could not tell me. He was still yelling at me so loud that my wife could hear him from the other side of the room. We told him, "Do the treatment" just to get him off the phone. When I went to pick up my dog I asked to speak to Brain. I was told to go into a room to get my dog. I was in the room 20 minutes before a woman came in and told me she was a vet. She spoke to Brain who told her I told him I was going to kick his ass. I told her I never said that. I was 73 and just a triple bypass surgery and did do not threatened or fight with anyone.

I told her that Brain was yelling at me on the phone and when I ask to speak to the vet. he would not let me. She then told me Brain had two kinds of mental problems and gets very loud when talks and gets stress out very easy. I told her he has no social skills and should be to talking to customers. I told her that I did not trust Pet Smart anymore because Brain could not answer any of my questions. There more to this story but this is a enough for now. Very unsatisfied. Since the very first time I brought my female dog at this PetSmart Hotel, I started to notice a problem. My female dog was peeing blood in her urine and she was extremely thirsty. Once at home, the blood stopped a few days later. When I brought her back to PetSmart Hotel a few weeks later, she was bleeding again when I picked her up. My son complained to them that she was bleeding every time we picked her up from their Hotel. Since the problem was from their Pet Hotel, we asked them to have her checked by the Vet. The Vet told us the dog was having infection which she never experienced before.

Since the problem was coming from their place, we asked PetSmart Hotel to pay for the medication, which they did. We continued bringing the dog to PetSmart Hotel and she got re infected with blood in her urine. It's been 3 months that we have not brought her back to the Pet Hotel and she still bleeding. We called PetSmart Hotel about the problem and the manager is not offering any help. She's very rude with us and she's not considering us as clients anymore... She's aware the problems comes from the Pet Hotel but she doesn't accept to hear anything... It cost me a lot of money to bring my dog to them but they have no consideration for anyone. What should I do at this point?

Arrived at approximately 1220pm for a 1230pm dog grooming appointment for my Havanese. Location was East Washington Street PetSmart location. Individual acknowledged my presence, not even looking at me. I was asked their basic screening questions not being advised at that point they had implemented a new grooming policy. Noted on my cell phone was a voicemail from PetSmart at 1237pm asking that I return to pick up my dog as he was showing signs of “stress”. As I was told when I left it would be 3-4 hours, I did not contact them till 3 pm and was told the same-“signs of stress”.

I returned to the store to pick up my dog and questioned what they considered stress as she stated he is showing 2 “signs” and we cannot groom dogs and I needed to have him sedated. I asked what signs had been observed and she indicated heavy panting and accidentally urinating. I said he was probably panting because he was caged and will bark till removed.

This dog had been groomed in the past by experienced groomers at the Plainfield Indiana location. His only annoying demeanor is that he does not like to be caged and will bark. Once removed he will quiet down as he thrives on attention and caring demeanor. Thus based on the discretion and judgment of an individual with no patience or customer service skills we have been banned from all PetSmart stores. Our name is red flagged in the system nationally. My opinion is this location will lose business based on this new policy and how the screening is accomplished. Lack of friendly customer interaction will add to the decline. Customers should be advised of the new policy initially at check in and have the customer remain in the store until they begin the grooming process.

My dog has always been able to hear; he showed no signs of a decline. Around 2.5 months ago, we brought our dog to Petco for his usual grooming; bath, nails, ears, blowdry. My dog is part Beagle and after he got home, within a few days, my dog stopped hearing. I am with my dog all the time; this deafness wasn't gradual. A dog doesn't go from excellent hearing to total deafness. Because he has those beagle ears; they droop and are long, it's harder to dry them. When the ears aren't dried they develop yeast infections.

After I realized that he no longer could hear me I realized that this happened a few days after his last grooming and bath at Petco. My dog is deaf and, of course the vet wants to do more blood work (she did this in November), check out his slight heart murmur, a sore on his anus, etc. We already brought him in once and she said there was a lot of wax build up. We want his ears flushed, meds for the yeast, and antibiotics. It's upsetting for a dog to suddenly stop hearing. I would imagine that a gradual decline wouldn't be so difficult. I am not getting ripped off by a vet who has already attempted to treat him and was unsuccessful. They only care about the $$$$.

When I made the appointment, I asked how much it would cost for the bath and hair trim, which used to be called the FSG full service groom. I was told it would be $49. When I picked him up, they had him checked in as a Shih Tzu. As beautiful as they are, he does not look in any way, similar to that breed. They wanted to charge me more money because it was the weekend. I told them that, no one had informed me of the extra weekend fee when I made the appointment.

After debating the cost, they implied that he looked more like a Shih Tzu and that Shih Tzu's cost more than Yorkies. Apparently they had never heard of the 'Parti Biewer Yorkie' from Germany. This breed has been recognized, since the mid 80's. (Very beautiful!) The manager had to get involved, and after waiting for several minutes, I did get the price that I was quoted. I don't think I will return to that location.

I have to say I had a horrible experience today in your Green Bay, WI., PetSmart store. I never bring my dog (65 pound pitbull) into the store, as it is just my choice. Today I had to. I was on my way to bring him to the groomer. I had to run in and get NexGard, dog food (35 pound bag Bil-Jac), and dog treats (Bil-Jac). Walking my dog into the store, cart, products...a lot to carry. I noticed that my dog went pee. I immediately went to the front clerk/manager and apologized and said where my dog peed. She told me that is a "good cause" or something like that and that I needed to clean it up. Remember, I have a 65 pound dog on leash, cart full of products and she could see that it was a lot for me to handle...and yet she told me to clean it up!

I, in no way expect someone to pick up after my dog, but this day...carrying/pushing almost 120 pounds around, should have been the day SHE (the manager, that was just standing there) should have seen that I was trying to see "honest", "good cause", etc. and tell someone that I needed some help with cleaning, taking my cart, anything. The manager DID NOT NEED TO HAVE A SARCASTIC COMMENT as she did. I cleaned up the mess and left the store telling the manager, that you cannot control when a dog pees. It is territorial and not done on purpose. I cleaned my dog's mess (with no gloves, your store does not provide them for the customers that clean up dog pee and poop). I then put back over $110.00 worth of products and will never go back to your store.

Having good customer service is your store's #1 priority and today you did not achieve it. I go to your store, because I liked it and knowingly paid more for the products! In the time when I can order everything online and for cheaper, you should understand when a customer needs help. You have lost a customer for life because of bad customer service!

When I got home and began my normal training session with him, he was extremely timid and extremely timid. Anyone that owns this breed of dog knows this is not a good situation to be in. It will make for a very aggressive dog. I went to the location, and before I could say anything, was informed he bit the person washing him. I asked why, and was told.. "I don't know, it's your dog". Hmmm. My dog is quite friendly, so I was confused.

Another employee quietly came to me and informed me that during the washing process, my dog was not only scared, but tethered to the point where he could not moved, and yelped the entire time. Bingo. Corner an animal, make him fearful, he is going to act and react. Needless to say, I had to board him today at a place he frequents. I was notified that he was in the rear of the cage showing extreme signs of aggression. Luckily there is an excellent trainer there to work one on one with him. It may take a mild tranquilizer to calm him, but better than allowing the aggression. I have put hours into training this dog in less than a year... only to have this setback. Unfortunately, I am the one to foot the bill for help with readjusting. DO NOT take your large breed dog there.

I was at Petsmart having my dog groomed and looking like a pretty girl with ribbons in her hair. You could she knew she was cute because she struts around after she's all done. She's happy and overjoyed to see me come through the door. The cost is comparable to other places I take her to be groomed but I really prefer to go to Petsmart because I can see what they are doing. Some places I have taken her to you cannot see what they are doing and I don't feel comfortable not seeing in. The place always looks clean other than hair on the floor which is why we come here.

Called and made a 9 am appointment. When I went to drop off I was told that I would have to wait 2 hours. That the walk inside will go ahead of me. Really, then why make an appointment? Got my Boxer back and was told that next time if I didn't want to wait I could pay an extra $12 and my pet would get expedited treatment. My dog still had a lot of shedding hair on her, the nails were not looking that good, also no doggie treat or scarf. This was a terrible experience and will not take her back. Customer service can make or break a business. It doesn't matter if the business is hole in the wall or a palace, what matters are the prices and the customer service. Advertising sale prices and then getting home and finding out you were overcharged is disgusting when you've spent over $400.00 on that visit. You don't want to shop there again because every time you go in you end up spending $200.00 or $300.00 dollars which is what you expect to do but if something is advertised as on sale you expect to pay the sale price. Not the Bait and Switch price. Not a good experience when it happens more than once. Dealing with cashiers who are bored to death having to wait you.

I have never bought my dog food from PetSmart either. I will only purchase a raw dog food, organic certified made in the NW. The only thing I get at PetSmart now is dog toothpaste and nail trims.

Some of the PetSmart locations do not carry the Simply Nourish Senior Sweet Potato & Salmon dry dog food. If by chance they do, it is usually only in one size. We have to drive to another city just to try and find it. This is a PetSmart brand, so why aren't they carrying their own brand? Since our Doug had been eating this food (4 years now), his health issues have improved. Clearly, this is a dog food we want to continue to feed him. Also, the employees at the Brea, CA store are not very helpful with this. We've asked them to request from corporate to carry it in their store, but they say, "Ooh, I don't know." Please, make an effort to help your customers. Why should we be forced to another city (Tustin CA, which is a 20 minute drive w/o traffic away) or forced to purchase online?

PetSmart is an overpriced place where you definitely pay more and can expect less! Some of the employees in the store in my area are nice but some are very immature. In a specialty store, you do expect to pay a bit more but for that you expect people working there are properly trained, have working product knowledges and do somewhat professional.

Just a few days ago I bought a couple of different cans of dog food to see which one my picky eater liked best and then return a few days later and purchase more. Well here is what happened at checkout. Very quickly, the highest price can was scanned twice and I told the cashier something is wrong. The person said "Nice Catch". I would like to think it was carelessness but who knows, maybe the store has an inventory shrink problem so you overcharge folks? Then the change part to be returned to me was 82 cents. I get eight dimes and two pennies even though there were quarters in the cash drawer. Hahaha. Well, all I can say is Amazon carries the dog food I need and I'm a Prime member so no need for PetSmart.
