I've been using Canidae with all our six dogs for many years. We had a Lab but had to put him down after 13 years, have two Wiener dogs, a Corgi, an English Setter and a Schnauzer. They're all rescue dogs. Once I switched my dogs over to Canidae, they weren't as allergic and the Corgi and the Wiener dogs weren't chewing their paws as much. Feeding my dogs natural ingredients is worth the price. They changed their packaging back to where the lid doesn't flip up anymore. For a time, I could open and then close it back up though it doesn't really matter to me because I put all in a big container anyway to keep the bugs out of it.

I bought Canidae because our work dogs use it and I figured that if they use it, then, I would, too and I definitely bought good food for a reason. We've been buying from them for maybe 10 years and I've had three dogs, Boxers and Bull Mastiff, that we feed Canidae to the whole time. It's been good and I'd recommend them.

I have two Boxers, one is seven years and the other one is four. I have been feeding them Canidae for more than three years and it's been good for them. I have tried other stuff before and it didn't work out so well. Canidae has the natural ingredients that is very valuable to me, and on top of that, it helps them with their digestion. The food itself is good, though the price is not that good.

I've been purchasing Canidae for three years. It's a good dog food and the reps were local boys from Cal Poly so I chose to purchase from them. I have three pit bulls and feeding them has been excellent. I used to use the Sea formula, which was a seller, for one of my Labs. I also use the All Age, which is for all of my dogs.

I’ve been purchasing Canidae Pet Foods for 10 plus years now. I have an older dog that we recently had blood work done and they said that she’s really healthy for her age. I can only assume it’s partly because of her diet. Thus, I have recommended them to others.

We have used your dog food for many years with no problem however on our last bag we found appx. half cup of foreign matter which looks like chips of the bag material throughout the contents. Our dog got some pieces stuck in her pallet and we had to physically remove it by hand. Our pet store suggested we phone you however after leaving two messages we got no response. The food was Life Stages Platinum and the number on the bag was CCP0603MA11B 204421 (A 30 LB BAG). I WOULD APPRECIATE A REPLY AND ACTION TAKEN.

I’ve been feeding my dogs Canidae for years and I love the food. I had a chocolate Lab that lasted 10 years and was on Canidae for at least six. I got another chocolate Lab and a yellow Lab and they’re both been on it too. My yellow’s been on it ever since she was a pup and she’s now nine. Giving my Labs natural food is very valuable because I don’t want to give them Pedigree junk food. They are part of my family so I want them to have as long a life as much as possible. I tell everybody that I know that have animals, especially people with Labs, that they should feed their dogs Canidae. I’ve had several friends that were feeding their Labs junk food and they switched to Canidae and noticed immediately a big difference in their animals.

I have three other dogs and I’ve been using Canidae for about nine years now. However, Canidae sold their company to a giant dog food company and I'm looking into whether they're going to stay at the factory that Canidae built and still make the same good dog food.

We love Canidae Pet Foods. We switched to it right after we got our dog four years ago. We live in a very small town which is about an hour to any real pet stores. We have a local lady who opened up a shop and she carried it. It’s the one that she recommends very highly to everybody who goes there. She only carries a select few and Canidae was one of them so we purchased one. Since then, our dog always had a really shiny coat. He doesn’t get sick. In fact, I got other people on it, too. Our old roommate got a puppy and it was nice because we had the All Ages, so we didn’t have to go out and buy separate food. It’s convenient to have and we don’t see that in a lot of dog food.

My pets are my kids, so it's at the top of my list that I feed them natural ingredients. That's why I've been buying them Canidae for about four years already. I have two weenie dogs, and I've been babysitting my dad's Border Collie, who's now also on Canidae. The lady that I buy it from at Ladida in Washington told me that the Life Stages would be a good bag so I didn't have to get a bag for each breed or each age group, and that it was a good all-around, so I didn't have to bring home five different bags of dog food. I took her advice as she seems to know her product and has a lot of fur animals like I do. My dogs are all pretty healthy, so I've already recommended it to my family. It's peace of mind knowing that I'm doing well for my animals. I just know it's a good product and it's convenient.

We've been purchasing Canidae pet food for at least 11 years, and it's the only one that we use now. Our oldest dog is 11 years old. We have three dogs -- a half-Shepherd and half-Rottweiler, a black Lab, and a half-Cocker Spaniel and half-Wiener. My friend who works for Canidae was the one who told me about them. I used Canidae for a while before and then we went cheap. But after we used a couple of bags of something else, our dogs' skin was affected. We took the dogs to our vet and she asked if we switched food, and I said, "Yeah, we switched from Canidae." She said, "Okay. Well, go back." So, ever since then, our dogs eat nothing but Canidae.
Feeding our pets natural ingredients is absolutely important for their well-being, their skin, and even their energy levels. It keeps them healthy. We switched from the regular Canidae, to regular food, then to the Senior. We switched to Canidae Overweight for our smaller dog that was getting a little too chubby and it actually helped the dog lose a little bit of weight and our dogs love it just as much.

I have two dogs-- a golden retriever, and a yellow lab. I was visiting the Coast and walked into a doggie bakery and they had two labs there that had the most gorgeous coats in the world. I said, “Oh, my gosh you must have just given them a bath.” The lady said, “No, I haven’t. But this is what I feed them.” And she gave me a sample of All Stages and I was hooked ever since. My dogs were younger then but now I pushed over to the platinum because my dogs are getting older. Since using Canidae, I get comments all the time about how silky and good looking they are. They should keep making the product, so I can keep buying it.

I switched my dogs to Canidae about a year ago. I spoke to one of their representatives at Petco and he told me about the list of ingredients that they had. As Shar Peis, my dogs reacted very well to the Boar brand. The oldest one is a senior dog, about 12 years old. Then I have a set of puppies that just turned 7 months, and their mom is about 2 years old. The puppies are eating the puppy food, and they love the chicken flavor. Then the oldest one is eating the boar flavor. They have really good coats, which are at their shiniest and look amazing.
In addition, I enjoy the little treats, the Salmon Treats, that break in half. They're amazing, especially for the puppies, since I'm training them to sit and stay, and teaching them different types of things to listen to. That helps a lot. They also like the canned food. I always recommend this brand to people who have issues with their dog's skin. I'm extremely satisfied with Canidae products and, as of now, I would never switch to any other product.

Bogey is going to be 9 years old in March and I have fed him Canidae since he was a puppy. I also have a puppy who is 10 months old and I have just converted all of his puppy food. He is now on adult Canidae as well. I absolutely love their "Buy 12, Get a bag free" program and buy that since I'm 62 years old. It's awesome because it's a way for me to be able to feed the dogs quality food and then know that I'm paying myself back a little bit when I get free bags. Every time I talk to the breeder or the vet and any kind of thing comes up about food, and I say, "They're eating Canidae," and there's always a positive feedback.

We first started off with the puppy version of Life Stages and we went with the different kinds Canidae had too. But our dog really gravitated towards Life Stages so we stuck with that one. We've been purchasing Canidae for about two years now and it has helped his coat because he was really dried up. Also, he isn't so blotchy anymore and has more energy. I've been purchasing Canidae food for my pet for close to four years. The dog trainer we were working with at the time recommended it very highly for our two German Shepherds - 14 year old Gidget and 4 year old Knox. We've just been doing Pure. The trainer had recommended it and I found that the Grain-Free tends to work better with my dogs' skin and they like it a lot. We started with Pure Sky, the one with the duck. Then, we transitioned to Pure Sea, the one with salmon and other fish.
However, it was a bummer that about a year or so ago, they changed the packaging. It went from being a 30 pound bag to a 24 pound bag, but the price stayed exactly the same. The place that we purchase the dog food from has a good coupon system. They send out Canidae coupons monthly, and it's usually $2 off for the small bag and $5 off for the largest bag. Since I have two dogs, I need the largest bag, the 24 pound one. But then, Canidae also has the 12 pound bag, and I get a free bag when I buy that, so that works really good, too. Apart from the change in packaging, Canidae's been a great product and I like all the little savings perks.

I use a number of different brands and Canidae is one of them. I buy in very large quantities, about 10 to 20 bags at a time, of both ALS and Platinum. I have a bunch of dogs, and the younger ones eat the ALS. The only thing I don't like about the ALS out of all of the food that I feed them, is that it has the highest calorie content per cup.
I have a hard time keeping many of the dogs on it for any length of time because it puts too much weight on them. If we're trying to put weight on the dogs, then it's a great diet. But once they achieve that and we're trying to maintain them, they eat such a tiny amount of it to get the calories that they need that they think they're starving to death, so we have to switch them to something else. I wish that there's a formula that's not so calorie-laden for the younger dogs. But apart from that, we've had really good luck with it through the years. I've always been happy with Canidae, and I appreciate that it hasn't been recalled dozens of times.

I have a two-year-old South African Boerboel. They're a mastiff-type highly intelligent breed developed in Africa for herd and farm protection. I'm a burly guy and I need a burly dog for mobility assistance. We're training him up for mobility assistance work for disabled veterans. If it works, we'll breed him and the pups will be given to the veterans and they'll go through puppy, intermediate, and advanced classes and then be turned over to Tender Loving Canine which is a service training dog organization. We're also training him to get up on the bed and then the second you fall asleep he gets off the bed, and when you have nightmares he’ll wake you up.
I was looking for a different dog food other than Red Flannel and I happen to be talking with a couple of other dog trainers. They said they've been having a lot of good success with Canidae because of filler in it with brown rice and not a bunch of grains and things. I talked with the folks at my local feed store down here on Woodside and they told me to try it out. So, I tried it and it seems to get real good results.
Feeding my dog with non-GMO is absolutely critical. A lot of the corn fillers are genetically modified and that DNA strand in the bacteria when it gets loose will be absorbed by the other bacteria and dogs are having problems that people are having now. Most people's health problems are related to the fact that they're not consuming food but food-like substance, no nutritional value, and you can't pronounce the names at the label so it's a good idea not to eat it. I've been told that the brown rice was GMO rice and other than a little distressed when he first switched over to it from Red Flannel, he's been fine on Canidae. It made him healthy and growing.
We always try to get the best quality foods we put before him. The human body and any animal body is a machine. You put in crap, you're going to get crappy results. Save a little bit of money because it's on sale but what's in it? Nobody's buying it because it's crap. How much are you going to save now and pay later in the vet? I've been really pleased with Canidae so far and I've recommended it to other people.

All our three dogs have been on Canidae food since either puppyhood or when we adopted them. The shelter was carrying Canidae and they recommended it. When I did research, a buddy of mine at work who knew dog food showed me a website and Canidae was one of the top 5 in the country. I've been purchasing Canidae since 2007 and we're getting Life Stages because we were told it will feed the dogs from puppyhood all the way through senior, senior, senior dogs.
Canidae is also a product we can afford because our dogs eat a lot. We also learned one reason why we got Canidae besides it being better for them was, versus a commercial brand, we can feed them less so it stretches longer than the other ones. For any other brand, we feed them (a Great Dane & an English Mastiff) 10 cups a day in the winter but with Canidae we can feed them 8 cups a day. We go through the big 44-pound bag every two weeks so the 12 and 1 program isn’t bad. We go through every six months then get a free one, which is very nice. So all in all, Canidae has great quality and price.

I learned about Canidae from somebody at work and they told me about it and then that’s when I started going to the feed store because it’s way better than Petco. Petco has Canidae, too, but cost-wise, it’s just a way better deal. I have a Siberian Husky and a Brindle Pit Bull Muscle breed. I also have Afro, the Husky, he is five going on six, and Lock is seven. And since I’m not working right now and I’m on disability, I can't afford to get two different types of food. So, Canidae Life Stages seemed like a good medium as far as giving the Husky and the Pit what they need. And I get individualized products that I can afford, like for my Husky, I mix Omega 3 Fish oil with the Canidae.
I like Canidae because it doesn't make the dog’s skin flaky like Pedigree. My dogs have really nice coats. Even when they’re dirty, they don’t really stink. When they come inside, they just smell like outside so they don’t stink up the house. I feed my dogs twice a day and so I get the 44-pound bag because it lasts longer than a month, so it’s nice. It’s a good dog food. There are some dog foods out there that are really expensive which are better, but you have to be practical about what you can afford. And so, Canidae is good because it’s not some cheap dog food, but it’s not stupidly expensive either. Our dogs are healthy. And they have nice coats because of what we feed them.

Our dog, Ace, is part Labrador and part Shepherd. We started buying Canidae when we got him from the animal shelter about 12 years ago. It was recommended that we do that because that's what he had been started out on at the animal shelter. I purchase the 44 pounds bag of Canidae, the greenish brown variety and we've been really pleased with it. For the first 11 years that we've had our dog, it was more for the nutrition that we got this dog food for him. In his younger years, he would go through it pretty quick because he was pretty active then. We're spending $50 to $60 a pop. But we like the incentive where you buy so many bags and get one free.
It's very important to feed our dog with natural ingredients. Ace got diagnosed with cancer a year ago, in November. They gave him six months to live if we didn't do any chemotherapy for him, and I couldn't do that. I did not want him to be sick. What I want for my dog is for him to be able to run, to go to the bathroom outside, and to eat and play. It's over a year later and he's still doing those things. We add a little bit of fat to his diet because he's lost so much weight. We do the Canidae but then we add extra because sometimes he doesn't want to eat, so if we spiced his food up a little bit, then he will eat. Then he'll be around with us longer. At this point, we're not just going for the nutrition. We're going to keep him happy and comfortable.

I've been buying the Life Stages because of size of the bag and the cost, and I don't find any need for anything else. I do like the buy-so-many and get a complimentary bag deal.

I used to buy Beneful before switching to Canidae. I live next to a feed store and they told me that the difference between Beneful and Canidae is like serving McDonald's food every night versus a home-cooked meal. I've been purchasing Canidae for eight years or more. In the past, we had three different set dogs in three different stages, but since then, Canidae's All Stages worked out really good for us. All our dogs are pit bulls and 2 of them, Brutus and Scarlet, have passed since then with 3 months in between. Chloe is still alive and she's a 7-year-old Red nose. She’s been on Canidae since she was born. She has put on a bunch of weight after the other two dogs passed away so I put her on a diet plan, which helps. She’s on the senior dog food now and it’s been quiet. I was told to switch her on Life Stages so I chose that. We’ve also been getting her out to walk.
I wouldn’t change Chloe's dog food for anything. Canidae is good for her and she’s a really healthy dog. We haven’t had any problems with her dog food, and that goes for all the other dogs we had. We don’t feed her wet food because wet foods is not good for dog’s teeth anyway. We just give her dry Canidae. Canidae is great and I don’t mind paying more for it because our pet is like our kid. I've even gotten two of my friends to switch over to Canidae.

I wanted something that met AAFCO standards 100% and I felt a little bit more comfortable and wanted to try another brand right now. Although Canidae is very high on my list of good dog foods, there is a huge controversy right now about dog foods because we feel like, as owners of pets, we are not getting the full picture as far as the ingredients. I like to feed my pets high-quality, grain-free food and they like it. I’m sticking with Canidae unless they do something that pisses me off, and so far they haven’t. They're also experimenting with their packaging quite a bit and their prices have changed over time but it seems fine. With the Canidae, they don't have any of that because it's filling, so a little goes a long way. They get full on a very small amount of food.
Our dog was on the Regular Canidae and then as she got older, we put her on the Senior which was better because the dog gains weight on it, and the Senior works wonderful for her. When our dogs got older, we put all of them on Canidae Senior. It's worked very well for us. We've lost three pets in the last year. Gwen was 13. She was a Border Collie. Lucy was 17. I had my dogs on Nutro for 10 years and they had done beautifully, then all of a sudden it started making them sick. They were throwing up, didn't want to eat it, and just laying around with no energy. I did a lot research trying to find good food and didn't have a whole lot of luck with that, because every food out there has been recalled at some time. So I called my breeder back and she had her kennel on Canidae for years and had very good results. I noticed that there had not been a recall on this food since 2009 and it looked like a fairly good food. She told me it was, so I decided I'd try it with a bag and I'm having good results with it so far.
I have three Bichon Frises. All three of them are males and two of them are six months apart. One will be 11 next month and six months later, the other one will also be 11 years old. The younger dog is a year and a half. They've all been on the dry limited ingredient pure essentials made with lamb for about six weeks now. When I first put them on this food, about two weeks later, they started to pep up and they are really doing well with it. I'm having excellent results with it so far.
I'm on my second bag of Canidae and I can definitely tell a huge difference. They're eating better and they seem to love the food. Their energy level has really gone up and they're back playing again. They're not laying around like they're sick and haven't thrown up even once. I'm pretty happy with the energy and the health-wise aspects of it.
I'm also happy with the food having natural ingredients in it. I had called them because I noticed there was an ingredient in the food that I wasn't sure about. They told me what it was and what it was for. I was very happy with the way that they responded and the way they took my call and were willing to help me understand what was in the food. They were available when I wanted to talk to them. Right off the bat, they were more than willing to answer any question I had. I have tried other dog food companies before and no one would take the time to answer my questions or even talk to me.
I would feel much more comfortable with Canidae after I've had my dogs on it a little lot longer and if I knew for sure it wasn't still made at the Diamond Factory. I know they have another factory that they built. I don't know if this particular food is still at the Diamond Factory or if they plan to move all of their food eventually to the new factory. That is one question I would be interested in, which I forgot to ask when I called them. But as of now I'm very happy with Canidae.

We have been trying different pet foods that would work with the different dogs we had that were different ages and different breeds. We were down in Lake Havasu and there was a pet food store there that gave us Canidae samples. It worked for all our dogs so we've stuck with it. Our dogs all do really well with it so we've been very pleased with it.

Canidae was recommended by my sister. She's a dog person and she had nine dogs so I thought it was a good thing. I've been buying Canidae for my 11-yr old golden retriever for 11 years now. I love it for her. She likes it and it's helped her a lot. However, it's getting expensive and I hope they can continue selling coupons. Also, we're missing the dog biscuits that they used to have. We love those, too.

My vet recommended Canidae Pet Foods for my pets. I have Boxers with ages, 11, 4, 3 and 1 and I'm giving them Canidae All Life Stages chicken and rice flavor and they all seem to like it. I also had a litter puppy that I had the Canidae as well. I've only been feeding my pets for about three months so I haven't seen a big difference yet. But I know it's all natural and feeding my pet natural ingredients is very valuable. It would be nice though if the company could use more of a plastic packaging, instead of the paper which seems to rip easily and bugs can get in there. I also requested puppy kit and I did not receive any.

We've been purchasing Canidae for about 5 years now because they have a more natural selection. I have a 6-yr old Vizsla named Meg and I use the Pure Sea for her. I used to get the Chicken but it wasn’t pure - it had grain in it. She used to never eat her food right away but she’ll eat Pure Sea better than she used to eat the other. She would leave the Chicken until 6 o’clock at night, but she eats Pure Sea within an hour. Canidae is a good food and has a good customer service. They were super helpful when I did have a problem with a bag. They gave us a new bag and a coupon, too. They have been helpful any time I’ve had an issue. Being a smaller company, we’re able to get customer service from them.

We have been purchasing Canidae food many years now. We’ve tried other brands but it went down to the nitty gritty. Canidae is what Shayana, our two-year-old Husky, likes. She really likes the Bison variant. We switch a little bit with the Canidae Pure canned dog food which she also likes. We mix it up so she doesn’t get bored. We find feeding Shayana natural ingredients to be very valuable. It’s important for her to have tasty, wholesome, reliable, and healthy food. Canidae plays a tremendous part in my pet’s health and well-being. Whenever we have her weighed at the vet clinic and every time we tell the vet what she is eating, she says, “Oh, good!” They know Canidae’s quality food also. If we had any other dog food, she would turn her nose up at it. It’s a plus for her to like it. We don’t have to worry about coaxing her. Every bag of Canidae is delicious and we continue buying it for her.

It's high-quality food for a reasonable price. I'm currently feeding my dog the Pure one made from Bison. They also give great customer service. My Chihuahuas have always been on the Purina Puppy Chow, but then when I got these two new puppies (Bindi and Cosmo), my daughter was telling me that I should try better dog food. Then she found Canidae for me, she said that this one looks like it has good ingredients, so I tried it. I buy the Canidae Grain Free Pure Chewy Treats and their Grain Free Pure Foundations puppy formula.
Canidae is not sold in my town so I have to travel 30 minutes to the next town to buy it. When I go, I just buy a bunch of bags so I don’t run out. I try and find coupons because it’s a little pricey because with Purina, it’s very cheap, and this one is $13 a bag. When I first started buying the Canidae puppy chow, to me it looked like a different color and now, it seems like it’s darker and I wanted to know if they had changed the formula. I already contacted the company and asked me to take a picture. I sent a picture to them and they never responded back. But, the dogs like it, and are happy and I don’t have a problem with them being sick on it. Every now and then, we would see my 11-year-old chihuahua (whom I have been feeding Purina) go to Bindi and Cosmo's dog food to eat Canidae every day. We might switch all our dogs to Canidae.

When I take them to the vet, the vet says they're completely healthy and at the right weight, they turned out to be beautiful Siamese kittens and I account for that for the food that they're getting. I just love the food. I'm very happy with it. My huge rescue dog, a great big 12-year-old 120-pound lab mix, had huge fist-sized patches of hair gone when I rescued him. I was researching what was going on with him when I got him and someone said, “You need to try Grain Free and that would make all the difference in the world.” So I was in The Feed Store asking about Grain Free and getting feedback from the employees and they said, “Just try Canidae.” And then I tried it with my dogs and they absolutely loved All Life Stages 44. My huge dog has got a gorgeous coat now and he’s totally happy and healthy. The size of the kibble and the ingredients are also good for all my dogs' breeds.
I rescued another dog, a bullmastiff, but I’m a full-time student and a widow, and so I’m pretty broke. I wrote Canidae a letter and said, “I rescued this dog. These are the circumstances. It’s wonderful dog food, and I want to have everybody on the same dog food.” And then they ended up sending me a voucher for a 44-pound bag of dog food and a bunch of coupons for dog food. I liked that Canidae was family-owned and had good quality ingredients which my dogs did well on. I left when they were packaging with Diamond. They called and told me they had their own facility opened again so I went back to them only to find out they lied and were still packaging with Diamond. I won’t buy it again. Diamond killed one of my dogs. I’m not okay with Canidae packaging with a company they know is responsible for so many animal deaths and sicknesses. Their customer service was good and their prices then were extremely fair.
I breed and raise German Shepherds. We raised working dogs, service dogs, detection dogs, so it’s all ages and we weaned to Canidae up until the elderly years. We bought canned, dry, the grain free, the PURE, the normal, all life stages, which we’ve used or were using on a regular basis. For a long time, my dogs did amazing on it. I had dogs that had allergies and ones that had sensitivities. I have working dogs which are hard to keep weight on even with the very expensive foods but there were times where the quality of the food wasn’t right and consistent enough.
I’ve actually gone through hundreds and hundreds of contacts just in the last couple of months to make sure we got everybody off of it. I’m extremely disappointed. Six weeks ago, I switched from the brand that I've been using for three years. One of my friends sent me an email link about Canidae and that it was made in America. I watched the whole promotional video online and wanted to support the company. It seemed like the dog food was probably better than what I was using from Wellness. Canidae has been great, so far. However, I had ordered this new bag of the treat and was unaware that it had chicken fat in it. That was one issue I had and had to give the treats away to a friend. My dog is allergic to chicken, so I ordered the salmon, the sea dog food, then ordered the treats that went with those, assuming that they did not have any chicken in it because it said "good ingredients". But when they got here, it did have chicken fat, and I got them from Amazon so I was not able to return them.
I get the canned food, as well as the wet food to mix with it occasionally, but I've not had to do that like I did with Wellness. It's been six weeks since I started this, and I ordered a case of the wet food, thinking I would have to mix it to get him to eat it. However, I've never had to open one can. He eats it without ever having to put the wet food in it. The difference from the previous dog food is he actually enjoys Canidae. He's eager to eat, and doesn't leave the bowl the whole time he's eating. He loves it. I just wish they had some treats that had the same great ingredients as the dog food with no chicken fat and no by-products in it. I don't think they carry a single treat that doesn't contain chicken fat. But overall, Canidae is an awesome company. I wrote the company and told them about their treats and they were emailing me back and forth right away.

I saw Canidae's ratings for the All Stages were the highest and I purchased one small bag for the first time. It was also recommended by a breeder. I have two Aussiedoodles, a standard and a mini. The mini is two and the standard is about three months. I can feed both of them that one food. However, the All Life Stages didn’t go so well. I only used two scoops out of that bag. There was some serious projectile vomit as soon as one of them ate it so every morsel of it was out. I then switched to the Grain Free, both the puppy one and the Grain Free with the lamb, and that is working out much better. The biggest thing that I look for in dog food includes being grain free so that they don’t have the skin issue. The next is the dye to avoid the staining around the mouth. It's been great so far and everybody likes Canidae.

We have a one-year-old French Mastiff and we had started out with doing the Large Breed Puppy but it doesn’t come in with Grain Free so I talked to our veterinarian and she said "it’s fine, just do it in the regular Puppy." My ultimate choice was going Grain Free because I felt that it had less fillers and stuff that's in it. I’d been real satisfied with it. He didn’t like the Giant Breed Puppy because it’s made out with duck and he didn’t care for it a bit when we switched to the regular Puppy which is the chicken. He loved it. That's why I was looking for something that was easy for them and I thought I'd try Canidae. I bought the salmon and the bison variety. It didn't work, but the only reason is because they are sick. The food from Canidae was too much for them at the moment. It wasn’t settling well with them, but they liked it.

It’s not a filler food, and they use it on their dogs and their coats are very shiny and they don’t have any issues.
My Great Dane needed to bulk up, so I tried to find a good protein for him. And now with Canidae, my pet is a lot thicker, bulkier and looks a lot healthier. I had a bad experience happen to me and then CR called the very next day about Canidae dog food. I told the woman I spoke to I didn't think it was fair that I answer these questions then, as I was upset at the company. She told me to do the best I could and that she understood. It all started out with a pop-up I received saying free dog food. After clicking on the link and filling out a form, there was no place to send it to. I was very upset and figured it was a scam. I emailed the company asking "Where do you get your free food from?" They knew nothing about it and said they would look into it.
The next day I got an Email saying they had nothing like this. The only thing they have is a contest each month where you can sign up to take a chance on winning food for your pet. They asked if I could send the link to them, but I had deleted it. Anyway, I looked again but didn't find it. The lady I spoke with was VERY nice and said she would send me the free food and coupons. That was very nice of them. Just today I also got 6.00 in more coupons. My dog loves the food. I told them they have a new customer and thanked them for the food. Great company. It's too bad they have other companies or people that scam people. I'm still upset over this but, know it's not the company's fault. I give them a 5-star rating.

I was online looking around for something, and something popped up and it says, "Free dog food". So I clicked on it and then it brought me to, I guess, the Canidae site, and it asked me some information about what kind of dog I had and what kind of food that he has been eating and so forth. So I went ahead and when I got done filling out the information, there was no link or nothing that I click then. So, what the heck is this? How am I supposed to get this to the company? I tried a number of things. I spent a stupid hour on the thing, trying to figure it out, and I couldn't. Finally, I was getting more and more mad and upset. So I sent an email to the company and I said, "What are you guys doing? Is this a scam? Is this how you get new customers, saying free dog food?" There's no place to send this link.
They wrote me back saying that they weren't sure which link I was talking about or which advertisement. They said they would talk to somebody and get back with me. The next day, they emailed me and said that they weren't aware of any contest or any free dog food. They talked to the people in charge of the website and the only thing they had going, which they do once a month, is they take a survey like that and then they put my name in for a raffle for a bag of free dog food.
I told the woman, "Well, this wasn't a raffle. This explicitly said free dog food." She asked me if I could send her the website, and I went back to look for it and I had deleted it already. I looked for it and I tried a couple of different things to try to get it back again, and I just couldn't. I'm very upset over that free dog food ordeal. I'd like to get to the bottom of it one day, and I will keep my eye open for that advertisement that said free dog food, and email it to the people up there. But, Canidae sent me a bag, and my miniature poodle likes it, so it's good.

Chelsea, our five-year-old miniature schnauzer, has been having Canidae for three years now. My husband read about Canidae and it was more natural than the other ones that we were going with for our dog. We first went with the Pure Sky duck-flavored dog food and it was working for her before but she decided to not want to eat after about 2 years of having it. She didn't eat for 3 days so we took her to the doctor and they said that she was being picky. I decided to change her pet food to a different flavor or style that’s specifically for small breed so we switched and she’s been eating since then. It's very important for me to feed our pet natural ingredients and I don’t want to poison my dog. Canidae keeps her healthy and she’s eating it every day or whenever we serve it to her and that’s with a mix of the dry and the wet food.
Our experience with Canidae has been great and I had just one issue so far. I store my dog food in the garage but it’s closed off with a clip; we’ve always done it this way. One day I saw ants in my garage and I noticed they're going into the bag of dog food. I guess it wasn’t sealed tight enough in one of the corners so ants got into the dog food but there was apparently a hole in the bag. I had to unfortunately throw the bag away. But that’s one time out of all the times I bought their dog food.

Two of my dogs have serious skin allergies and we determined that their allergies are to brans and glutens. I had been feeding them Solid Gold and every time they repackaged the product, seemed to take out two pounds and raise the price $5. First of all, I didn’t like that marketing technique. It was a bit shady. And second of all, it got to the point where it’s a good dog food but there are equally good alternatives that are priced less. Those are what caused me to switch.
I have three German Shorthaired Pointers: Rebel and Dixie are working field dogs and the ones with skin allergies, and Hodd is a blind rescue. I switched Rebel and Dixie to the senior chicken grain free, which local stores in my area do not stock. I have to buy it online. It would be awesome if it was stocked locally. Hodd eats PURE lamb because he’s just a baby. It's extremely valuable feeding them all natural ingredients which is a bit on the pricey side, even more so with three big dogs, but it’s money well spent because it saves me thousands of dollars at the vet. When we went to the field and they got something and had flare, it was almost impossible to treat. They were miserable and their hair was falling out. Putting them on a grain-free diet was no problem in itself but the flare was triggered when that factor combined with something environmental.
In Rebel’s last physical exam, protein in his urine was a little high so I was told to put him on a senior diet. He’s been on that for about two months now and we need to go back in about a month for a check to see if we've fixed that problem. It’s a great product. I get it at Pet Supplies Plus and it’s regularly on sale so that’s helpful. I regularly recommend Canidae and it saves my friends being miserable with the skin breakouts.

When I first got her, I was recommended to get something else that the dogs had when they were in rescue. I bought that and put half of it and half of the Canidae in the dish, and she ate the Canidae first. I also bought one can of wet food. I give her a little and she likes that too. I went with Blue Buffalo at first because I heard that everything they had was all-natural. And then the "made in China" thing came out and they were part of the ones having a problem, unlike Canidae which was all made in the United States. My vet also recommended Canidae. I have two rescue dogs which are German Shepherd mixes. The small one, Gus, could eat anything but my older dog, Tod, has allergies. But Gus liked Tod's food so much and didn't eat the regular diet I was buying. He wanted the Canidae too and thought that I'll just buy Canidae for both of them. They're big dogs and eat a lot of food. They like the PURE Sea salmon better than the bison but sometimes I switch it up to keep the allergies from striking. I also had a friend who had her dogs on Canidae and they didn't have any allergy problems either.
Feeding my pets natural ingredients is one of the most important things I can do since I learned more about them and found out about the allergies and things that are in dog food. I even buy regular food, cook it and add it to Canidae. But right now, there's not another pet food out there other than Canidae that I would feed my two dogs. They love it and it's good for them, and they haven't had any allergy problems with it. It contributes to my pets' health and well-being because of it not having any fillers. Plus it must taste great because they love it. And both dogs are at a healthy weight and are extremely active.
Tod, my seven-year-old 110-pound dog started running again since I've been feeding him all-natural food and supplementing with all-natural human food. So he feels a lot better. They look forward to Canidae dog food and anytime I put it down, they eat it. They don't just leave it and walk away. I like the fact too that Canidae has the all-natural treats that go along with the dog food. Canidae cares about the dogs that they serve.

I have five dogs: a German Shepherd, two Cocker Spaniels, a purebred Chihuahua and one that's a mixed. I work in a Cocker Spaniel rescue and in our dog training club, I've come across quite a bit of cancer. It could be the preservatives in the kibble. I was on Canidae Life Stages before that and then I went to grain-free because it's cheap and for every 12 bags, I get a free bag. We get at least two bags a month and my dogs have been on that for quite a while. I also based the decision because of dog food advisors. Canidae got 4 or 5 stars.
I've tried one or two other varieties but the dogs seem to be doing okay on Land. I don't know how natural the ingredients are but my German Shepherd had intestinal bowel disease and we've been struggling with diarrhea for her whole lifetime after she was about a year old, trying everything, even prescription medication, a specialist, but nothing worked. By accident, when I went to pick up Canidae, I noticed they had one of those freezing compartments and I picked up raw mainly 'cause my friends used it, and overnight, we had a normal stool.
So, right now, we're trying to figure out why. I'm working with Canidae PURE. It has been suggested that I add some clay, which sounds terrible, but there is a reason to it. I am determining the amount of clay to add since she loves the combination of Canidae that I'm feeding the other dogs. I don't trust canned that much but I know kibble is good. I've been trying to get information about Canidae such as how much meat and other general information about combinations of the kibble and the canned and the differences, but every time, I could not ask for more help whoever it was who's knowledgeable.
But I like Canidae very much. We were having an online auction in the Cocker Spaniel rescue I am with and after I talked to a young lady at Canidae if I could talk her out of a few vouchers that we could put on our auction, she sent me two vouchers for 24-pound bags. I thought if Canidae does that, maybe some of the others might. Well, they don't. Merrick has a way out of it, as well as Blue. So I gave up on any of the others. But the fact that the others had some excuse and Canidae, right off the bat, helped us, they've got a very loyal customer here. That's $100 to help towards paying a neuter. I also recommend Canidae to others. It's really great and you can trust it.

I used (Purina) Pro Plan for a long time, and somebody told me about Canidae. I tried it and their feces don't smell as rancid as the Pro Plan made it smell. That caught my eye. That was the main reason why I switched to Canidae and I've been buying it for five years. I like their Large Breed Puppy and their "buy 12, get 1 free". Natural ingredients are valuable to me too. I give Canidae's Large Breed Puppy for all of the dogs since they are a large breed. The food is also to keep separate the puppies from the adults. It's been a great experience with Canidae. All my Rottweilers are over 125 pounds and it’s due to their diet. One of them is 135 pounds and he's not even two years old, while his father is only 120 pounds.

Canidae is an American-made product and there's no gluten in it. I've always kept my dogs on dry dog food and it's extremely important to feed them natural ingredients. No matter if Petco does not carry the specific one that I buy on a regular basis, which is the the chicken formula, I know that I can grab any other Canidae dog food that are available right there and they're still gonna be gluten-free. I don't have to read every label to see exactly what's in it, so it's a huge bonus. I've already recommended it to multiple people that I know. We live up here in Alaska so a lot of people run dog teams. Canidae is pure protein with the different variants of additional protein levels that are available, so everything that they offer is based on a protein diet.
The only thing I was questioning is on the back of the Canidae dog food bag down by the proof of purchase, it says to retain that proof of purchase and then your receipt. And then you receive coupons, discounts or points for other future purchases. I have not found any information regarding that on the website to see how to follow through on that. I've got three proof of purchases with three receipts at this time and have no idea what to do with them. I've gotten email replies but they're generic and I have not received specific information pertaining to that email directly.

Our cat has a sensitive stomach and was getting real sick with every food that we tried then I came across Canidae and it seemed to work really well for her. I want to feed my pets the best food. I noticed a great difference in their coat too from people that see them, when feeding them generic stuff versus quality pet food. Canidae also have really good customer service. I recently got a bag and I only had it for a couple of weeks when I realized our cat wasn't eating it. I contacted customer service because I realized after looking over the bag that it was actually outdated, so they sent us a voucher for a free bag of food. I really appreciate the customer service. We recently got a puppy as well and we just started putting her on the Canidae food as well. I would definitely recommend it.

After adopting 10 large breed dogs over the last 20 years, and trying many, many, many high-standard brand foods, including Orijen's dry six fish, I've concluded Canidae grain free is the best food out there, especially for the price. I like to be a very well-informed consumer. I research any product, especially food (illness and health are manifested from within) I'm considering for our dogs and horses thoroughly. As all our pets are adoptions and arrive in poor health from previous neglect, good food is the first priority.
Our Anatolian shepherd was 40 pounds underweight when we adopted him. I put him on Canidae pure sea and, wow, what gorgeous dog with a shiny coat, great disposition, great-looking stools with low odor, and at 130 pounds and active, maintains his weight on 4 cups a day. I temporarily switched to Orijen's six fix for six months for no other reason than because I thought it would be even better for them. At 100 dollars for 24 pounds, it should be The Best for them, right? Not necessarily. His coat lost its shine and he wouldn't eat it unless topped with cooked salmon, chicken or other embellishments. Too busy for that, so back to Canidae we went. His coat, and our bottom line, saw great improvement. I'm staying with Canidae grain free pure line. Of course will monitoring it for any changes in recipes, but overall I trust this company and its food 100%. The proof was in the kibble!

I was doing research online, looking for a higher quality dog food than what we were using and I came across Canidae Pet Foods that's grain-free and with lower protein level so we decided to give it a try. We have been purchasing the Land, the Sky, the Bison, the Lamb, and the Duck. We don't prefer the Sea. Our pet has a bad reaction to the fish oil. We've got three dogs and we've got all three of them on Canidae, which was one of our goals, and it's working out fantastic.
We had Reese, our Lab, on one kind of Canidae dog food and she's healthier than she was previously when we had her on just a store brand. Then our two little Chihuahuas are on little food. Reese would always eat the little dog food and after that she would go eat her own food. If the little dogs would go eat Reese's food, they would get very bloated. There's sanity in the house so if they get into each other’s food, we're not going to have a bloating problem with the little dogs, or not-enough-nutrition problems for the big dog issue eating the little dogs’ food.

Canidae has high protein and no fillers. I give my Yellow Lab Life Stages and it keeps her in good health and out of the vet. The consumer department has also been very helpful on their buy 12 bags-get one free promotion.

I was looking for natural human grade ingredients for my dogs and the food I had been using for some time has started adding beet pulp to their food so I started looking for healthy alternatives and after some research, I discovered Canidae. Their ingredients are safe and good for my dogs. For some time, initially, they did not have Grain Free and once they came out with it, that’s the route I’ve gone.
Right now, they’re eating the Canidae Grain Free Pure Sea. The fish ingredient works best for them. I had a couple dogs with the same health issue and had consulted a holistic vet who felt like the fish diet was a good one to alleviate the health issue and so I had been using the Pure Elements. I switched to fish and it did alleviate the problem and I put everybody on that diet. We’re mainly on the Pure Sea but I alternate sometime with the Grain Free.
I’ve been feeding my dogs the food for 16 years. In their younger years, we have almost little to no health problems, and when they got to 14 onwards, they started having things that are mainly old age issues. Some of it is good genes, but a big part of the longevity of these dogs is the fact that I feed them good food and supplements. Canidae is more expensive but to me, if I'm putting the money in the food and not spending it at the vet, I'm doing something right. I have puppy buyers that puppies go home with it and the people would continue to feed it. I have all the same breed, Boston Terriers, and they mainly eat the same food.

My little doggie had some weed allergies so I tried him on Chicken Soup. She did good but then I heard about Canidae. I changed her to it and her coat is gorgeous. Her muscle tone, protein, and everything about her is beautiful. I attribute a lot of it to her food. Though Canidae's not too cheap, it’s worth it. I have recommended it to lots of friends. I’m gonna be adopting a new puppy soon and she’ll be going on Canidae also.

It's been three years that I've been getting Canidae food for my pets. I have two Leonbergers and they're very large. It's 100% valuable for me that I feed my pets with natural ingredients. I like the combination of food of Canidae, the fact that it's grain free, and that I had options to switch between duck versus bison so the dogs don't get bored. I use only Grain Free for my dogs. I usually alternate between the Grain Free Large Breed Sky and Elements. It's a pleasure and certainly adds to an incentive that I get coupons because my pets go through a 26 pound bag every two weeks. I often recommend Canidae.

I like Canidae and I use three or four different varieties. I use the senior ones that are fish or chicken because of the protein level. It's better for my pets to eat good quality food versus filler food. I'm sure they're happier and healthier for it. My dogs like Canidae too.

I've been using Canidae for six years. It was recommended by the shelter that I had adopted our pet from. I've been feeding my three dogs Life Stages in particular because it’s the one that meets the needs of all three dogs. And the bite size is just right. It’s smaller so it’s edible for small and big dogs.

Somebody recommended Canidae to me and I used it for my German Shepherd, Pete, for seven years and he did pretty well on it. I started out with the All Stages and then went to the Platinum, the one for the weight control. It had a good reputation and my dog was healthy on it. For dry food, he ate it well. Canidae has less junk or toxins in it that can get in the pet's body.

Canidae seems to have limited ingredients which we like and it's a little cheaper than some of the more expensive ones that we have used before. We get the salmon one for our bullmastiff and she seems to like it. She looks good and doesn't break out in rashes or have allergies to it. We have an expensive dog and we need to take good care of her so we try and get a good dog food.

I've been buying Canidae for about 5 years. We started with one dog and ultimately grew to three. I wanted to give them something that's better than just regular, off-the-shelf stuff that you would find at Petsmart or Petco, and that would really be beneficial to my kiddos because they're not just dogs to us but family members. I did a whole bunch of research on what pet food companies offered better quality foods and Canidae seemed to provide really good quality food for a good, competitive cost. Definitely there are pet foods out there that are even better, but the cost is ridiculous. You start spending $20 a pound for dog food and that's crazy.
We buy the Life Stages 44-pound bag and it would last a month for all three dogs. I keep them on the same diet. Our Beagle has a thyroid issue now, so she's on medication but I need to bring her weight down because of the issue. She gets half a cup twice a day, which meets her caloric intake for the day based on what the doctor had given to us of just the regular Canidae. I wanted to see if there was a better option for her. When I called Canidae this last time, I wanted to find out about the Grain-free products. There's one specifically for weight management and I wanted to see if Canidae offered a variety pack that comes in half-pounds.
It would be fantastic for Canidae to do that because unlike the Life Stages which just has one or two flavors, the Grain-free comes in nine to twelve different varieties. I have no idea what my dogs are going to like and because they're so much more expensive since they're grain-free, even buying a five pound bag is going to be a lot, especially if my dogs end up not liking it. We switched our Beagle over to Canidae's weight management plan food and she just hated it. The stores are great because we can bring everything back if we want to and they'll give us our money back, but I don't want to start doing that 14 times over.
