Canidae is a good dog food. That's what my dogs' mother and father ate and I've been feeding Canidae to them ever since they were a puppy. I got a male and female Akita and they're going to be nine in October. The female was allergic to the Canidae I was feeding them and there was something in the food, chicken and rice, that was irritating my female's skin. But I changed the to the all-in-one kind and they haven't had a problem. I wish they could give some more coupons though. That would be nice. Normally, I go through about 44 pounds a month and I usually buy a 44 pounds bag, which is their largest bag. They could give a little more discounts here or there.

I know natural pet food can go stale so I always read the labels to make sure the dates are good. Several bags I got were stale and I had to return them. I had my dogs and cat on the food. The cat loves it and her coat looks good but she seems to vomit at least once a day. I got a food storage container made especially to keep the food fresh but the problem with the freshness bothers me. I had to take both dogs off as they started having loose stools and occasional vomiting issues also. I contacted the company, and they were great by the way, but my dogs did not do well on any of the types of their food we tried. The cat, well, we just keep getting the food and hoping for a good bag. She does like it but it usually comes up again at least once a day. I just don't know.

We were previously using Whole Earth grain free dog food and had good luck with that. One day in Petco, they thought we might want to try Under the Sun by Canidae. So we did and the dogs seemed to well on it. We have been feeding it to them for months now. All of the sudden all 3 of our dogs (2 cocker spaniels and a Lhasa apso) began vomiting hours after eating it. At first I thought it might just be a virus or upset stomach, so I fed them rice and some chicken like my vet says to do. They all seemed to be doing better, so I slowly put them back to eating Under the Sun. They all started vomiting again.

I had some samples of other Purina dog food that I had received at a promotional event at the St. Louis Cardinal's Pooches in the Park night. Although I am not a huge Purina fan, I thought since I had it, I would see how they did. Hmm, no vomiting. Tried another sample of another Purina food. No vomiting. Went back to Under the Sun, vomiting started again. So I thought maybe I just had a bad bag.

We went back to Petco to let them know. They said maybe it was because we bought the kind with the fish in it and that can sometimes upset a dogs stomach. So we went back and bought another bag, but went back to the chicken that we normally bought. After 3 days, they are vomiting again!!! Had 2 sample bags of regular old Purina Dog Chow left. Have given them the dog chow for the last 2 feedings. No vomiting. Sigh. I give up. Going to Petco tonight on my way home to pick up a small bag of Whole Earth and see if they are ok going back on that again. Pretty disappointing.

I have a three-year-old American Bulldog and we’ve been purchasing Canidae Food for him for a couple of years now as recommended by the manager at the Pet Club store. He’s not a cheap dog and he’s thoroughbred so I want to invest in the best and valuable ingredients plus we try to be consistent with the bison flavor he eats. It’s a very good product and I’d highly recommend it.

We used to use ALPO but we quit because of the content that was in it. We've been purchasing Canidae for two years now and I like it. I have two Boxers, a Pit and a Shih Tzu-Poodle at the ages of 14, 10, 1 and 5. We purchase Life Stages for them because of their different ages and it's also very valuable to feed my pets natural ingredients. It's a great product.

The place I was buying pet food referred me to Canidae. I got the one which had buffalo meat in it. Feeding my pets natural ingredients is quite valuable to me. I have two pit bulls, one’s six years old and the other is five. I love Canidae. It was just too expensive. I was buying it for three months and then I stopped. I found a competing brand with basically the same ingredients for a cheaper price.

I have been feeding my dogs with Canidae Pet Foods for eight years now. I had a yellow Labrador named Neighbor then I also had two of his sons named Hank and Monk and Neighbor has since passed away. These two dogs are going to be 12 this year. Monk eats pretty much anything, but Hank is pretty finicky and I have to alternate his food every couple of months. He was good with Bison, but he burned out on it. Then he did pretty well with Lamb and Chicken and he did with Duck for a little while as well.

Since the dogs are a little older, we were looking at the protein content. One of them has health issues too. Canidae's Life Stages had other ingredients that were superior to other stuff that we saw. My dogs are a part of the family so I want to give them the best things I can. Feeding them with natural ingredients is invaluable. They liked Canidae, they do really well on it and digest it great. They've never been overweight and they keep a nice healthy weight on them. They're really active too. Canidae has always been a really good food for us.

I've been feeding dogs that range from an Akita to Pomeranians and Chihuahuas with Canidae for six years. We started on it right when it first came out in the market. We just looked for a change. We free-feed the dogs and it has worked for them for all ages. When they were tiny puppies, we got them puppy food. I currently have a Pomeranian that is a year-and-a-half old, a Yorkshire-West Highland Cross Terrier that's about a few months older than the Pom, a two-year-old and a six-year-old standard poodle, and a five-year-old large Australian Shepherd. Feeding them with natural ingredients is important and it's better than the processed stuff. Their coats look good and shiny. They're healthy and they've got a lot of energy. They're active dogs so they're in good shape. In fact, those that I've lost, it was due to old age. Overall, Canidae is a good product so I stick with them.

The pet store recommended it plus they had a rewards program too although the pet store stopped doing the rewards program because they said Canidae had stopped doing it. One of the pets was a senior and I wanted to reduce the calories so we preferred having the Life Stages Canidae product. We have Frankie, a Border Collie mix that's he's nine. Lilly, who just recently passed away, was 12 and 1/2, also a Border Collie. With Canidae, I hope that it gives our dog what he's supposed to be getting. I bought my cats the Canidae Grain Free Pure Sea in particular because the protein base was fish and not red meat or poultry and it made it a lot easier. I've been using it for my pets for a couple of years but then I switched over to Solid Gold which has a few more ingredients. The quality of the two was on the same level. It’s just that I was able to save a few dollars with the Solid Gold.

I looked at the different dog food at our feed store, and I liked the ingredients of Canidae. I was going to get a different one in the beginning, but then I saw the All Life Stages. It was in a bigger bag at the store I go to, and it wasn't incredibly expensive like some foods. I gave it a try and it worked out. It seems to agree with my dogs and they like it. We have three dogs at the house, an Akita, a mutt from the pound, and a Peekapoo, and all three of them eat it. I'm on my fourth Akita and they've all had skin problems, but I don't have skin problems with this dog food, so that's awesome. She's got the best hair out of all the Akitas I've ever had. I've been feeding my dogs with Canidae's All Life Stages for almost two years and continue to buy it.

I've been purchasing Canidae for my Boston Terrier for six years now. After it was suggested to me, I did my research, and my dog stuck with it. We have tried their other products, but we usually stick with Life Stages. He’s super sensitive with what he comes across internally and externally, and Canidae is the one thing that I know that is actually balanced for him. He doesn't have any kind of food allergies, any skin irritations, and on top of that, his breath and his teeth are really well and he's about to turn seven. He even has a better diet than me. I don’t really go to Pet Smart or the big pet stores. In smaller ones, everybody’s in tune with what’s going on with Canidae. So, if ever there’s any contamination or some kind of weirdness going on with the food, I’m able to go to my pet store and they already are able to have that information directly from Canidae. I like that they keep people informed of what’s going on. It's an amazing experience overall.

Canidae is the food of choice of a breeder that we bought one of our dogs from. We've been purchasing it for more than 10 years back when my Vizsla and English Pointer were alive, and for another Vizsla we have now which is two and a half years old. The pure lamb or bison variety have the fewest ingredients. We are fitness freaks and we care about what we put in our bodies, and the same should be true of our pets. We appreciate the brand and what they stand for. We love the introduction of another line that was all grain-free and had reduced ingredients. It's what we use now. We hope Canidae keeps doing what they're doing. We're happy customers.

My dog loves this food and is energized and happy after he eats. When you open a can, it smells delicious and appealing (even as a human). He has been on Canidae for about a month and his digestion and energy seem great. He is a happy customer so far. My dogs Sophie and Graham are Beagles and I've been purchasing Canidae's chicken and rice for them for about 7 years. I did some research way back then and Canidae's always been what I use. However, I’ve noticed lately in the last 3 times I purchased a 30-pound bag that there are about 2 cups of crumbles. It’s not the whole pieces. I’d pour the food into another container, so it doesn’t go bad, and use a strainer to pour the food through because there’s so much crumbled food. Then once I was all done, there’ll be a little food left at the bottom of the container.

I wanted something better than the basic Pedigree stuff so I’ve been giving them Canidae for about 10 years. I fed them All Stages, then I tried the Senior. But when I had younger dogs, I went back to All Stages, which is what I'm feeding them now and it is working out for the age of the group. It gives me a peace of mind knowing that I'm getting something that comes from a better source to have better ingredients. They live happily, they’re shining, and they don’t have any problems that aren’t simply old dog-related. Everything's been good and I would recommend Canidae.

I’ve been purchasing Canidae Pet Foods for about two years now and I’ve had great experiences with the food. Canidae was recommended to me. It is very valuable for me to feed my pets natural ingredients. I hear stories all the time on the news regarding dog food that either made the dogs sick or unhealthy. That’s something that I took into consideration when finding new food for the dogs.

I have two great dogs—one is a seven-year-old Australian Shepherd that’s around 60 pounds and the other is a Pit Bull mix which is under 50 pounds. I switch their Canidae dog food up with the different flavors every now and then to see how the dogs would react to them. After I’ve made the change to Canidae, there have been good changes in my dogs. Their coat looks better than how it used to. Also, when they need to go outside to do their business, it’s completely different. Canidae is better than what I’ve been using and I’d recommend them.

We have a couple of Rottweilers, an Australian Shepherd with the blue eye and the brown eye, and four pugs. We get the Life Stages as it had the extra ingredient then that we didn’t have for what my wife was feeding our dogs. One out of the three pugs that we inherited was a little diabetic and Life Stages worked a bit better for it. We’re satisfied with Canidae. It’s always been there for our dogs. I was trying to find a really good food for my 5-yo Dalmatian because some dogs don’t like grain - they like more meat. I looked up online for a dog food that consisted of mainly all-meat and I saw that it was Canidae. My Dalmatian tends to like the all-meat and it helps with her digestive system. I get the chicken, duck and the salmon. I mix it up and also buy a different kind each time. You get different flavors and it’s healthy for the dogs. Natural ingredients are very valuable because the more nutrients, the more they get control of their life too instead of feeding them like Kibbles 'n Bits. I’m not going to feed them Kibbles 'n Bits and then have them not live as long because I’ve known people who feed the right kind of dog food and they can actually extend their life a little bit longer too.

I have a chocolate labradoodle who's gonna be 10 in August. With the vets and the staff at the clinic, we all liked Canidae for our animals and I purchased it for eight years until it was discontinued in the pet supermarket where I shop at. I liked that I could buy Canidae and cut off the UPC code and save them. I could buy 12 and get 1 free and that was awesome because it's expensive.

It was a better product choice for my dog. It was grain-free and corn-free, and my understanding is that the less grain you feed, the more years you add on to your dog’s life. The ingredients are 100% important and that’s why I chose Canidae. But my dog has a sensitive stomach and she used to throw up every now and then. Now that I've switched to Blue Buffalo grain-free, she throws up a lot less. I'm paying more for Blue Buffalo, but I don't really look at price when it comes to my dog. I just have to do it. I would still probably be feeding her with Canidae if it wasn’t for the store discontinuing the product. Blue Buffalo was the next best thing there.

I've been buying Canidae for my pet for two years now and mostly because of the ingredients and smaller-sized kibble. I have a three-year-old English Bulldog. She's super tiny and was born with a birth defect. She is really like the size of a Frenchie, and I needed smaller kibble for her because she has a lot of health issues for being born different. She was born without a butthole, and so we had to build her one. I purchased the Life Stages product of Canidae because Bulldogs have a lot of allergies. I was staying away from the grains and away from any of the fowl so I only feed that kind of dog food product to my other dogs as well.

I love the Canidae dog food, otherwise I wouldn’t feed it to my pets. I feed two different dog foods. I feed another brand as well. One of my dogs did not like the other food, so I switched her to the Canidae that my other dog is on, and she loves it. They’re happy with the food and it’s really important that it's been keeping them healthy and maintaining their weight. I don’t have problems with tear stains, allergies, and with a lot of the common things where they'll see happening with other dogs that are reacting to a dog food and owners not understanding what it is.

I recently found out that Canidae does offer a program that when I buy 11 or 12 bags, I get one free. They also have the breeder and the rescue group program that I was just told about and that I’m going to get involved with. It’s super helpful to me because I have nine dogs at my house, just feeding that many is a lot. It's helpful now that I can pass on the information to other potential adopters and say that they have this program if other people want to buy their food. Not all dog foods have that so that’s important to me.

I started raising my dog on Canidae and then I ended up getting a couple more dogs so I couldn't really afford to feed all of them Canidae so I switched out to Pedigree and he started losing weight and his coat started getting dingy. Also, I could tell, that he was nowhere near as healthy within a couple of months and so I switched back to Canidae despite the fact that it costs a little bit more. I've been purchasing them for the last four years and I now have three great, shiny-coated big mutts that are happy and well-fed.

It made rational sense that something that's good for dogs should be good for dogs whatever age they are. I went with the All Life Stages formula because I had a dog that was quite a bit older. The oldest one is four years old and the other ones are three, and they're big and young enough to be jumping around and doing all kinds of stuff. So with that many dogs, I had to feed a lot and Life Stages was the one they had in the 44-pound sacks. It's almost $200 dog food a month and I can hand in the twelve proofs of purchase and get a sack, which cuts almost 10%. Also, A friend of mine, who takes care of them when I work out of town, thought that it's a lot of money on dog food, but he watched them come into better health with them and was sold on that. So, I'm happy to see they can keep my pets healthy and I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.

Canidae is real easy to digest & is lower in fat - 10.08% what is needed as they get older. He is doing really well on this formula.

I have five dogs so I have three different kinds of Canidae which include Life Stages, the Duck, and the Senior. My Westie had some allergy issues and that suggested Duck or Bison. They all seem to like it really well which means a lot. It might be a little more pricey but I feel like it’s a good dog food. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be using it. Also, Canidae is made in the US and I feel that they are a good company and I don’t have to worry about recall issues. I’m very pleased with it.

Henry is a beagle and he’s four. He was showing signs of being allergic to chicken so I wanted him to go on a lamb diet. And then in the process of trying to find a lamb diet for him, I came across Canidae wherein I bought their regular lamb and rice in the brown bag. I liked that he's eating lamb, it’s grain-free and more easily digestible so that's good for him. My dog loves it and has been eating it for three and a half years. He's always happy when I put down the bowl. He's not one of the beagles that you put down the food and he's ravenous and inhales everything in two seconds. He grazes throughout the day but he's never turned his nose up at it so I'm happy with that. I also really liked the program where after you buy a certain number of bags, you get a bag free.

I've been purchasing Canidae Pet Foods for four years because a pet food store recommended it as one that had none of the gross stuff in it. I have two dogs and they are from the shelters. They're sweet little babies and they are both 70 pounds but we don't know what they are. We give them Life Stages because we knew they were younger and we just didn't want to have to switch dog foods throughout their life because it's something we can just keep forever. It messes with their bellies and then they poop on your floor and no one wants that. It's very valuable to feed them with natural ingredients so we picked Canidae and that's mostly what they eat. Also, I really like getting the free bag every 12 bags. The pet food store we buy from would take the labels and give us their free one.

I was looking for a better food for my dogs that would help them with their skin and overall health. I have two American Bullies. One is seven and the other is four. I want them to eat well. Canidae Pet Foods was recommended to me and I love it. Life Stages was the best for both because of the age difference. And then there were puppies for a little while. It’s cost–effective, they like it and it works. They’re not hungry all the time. Before, they’re always looking forward to eating whereas now, when they eat, they’re fuller longer. They also don’t have as much waste. It's healthy and we’ll keep using it. Overall, Canidae is one of the best that I’ve ever used for my dogs. I’ve recommended it to many people.

It's a higher end dog food. Plus, the bags are bigger, so it’s actually a better deal. And then I save those little things and if I get 12, I get a bag free. We tried a couple of different brands, but I was told to try this one and it seemed to work really well. The pieces are small enough that the little dogs and the puppies can eat it. The big dogs like it, too. Additionally, there's a program at the key places running where you buy 12 bags and you get one free, and I like that. Canidae is grain free and one of the few that has the duck and salmon which are really high oil ones. We started with Life Stages and now we use the Canidae Select and then we alternate between the duck and the salmon ones because it has a higher omega for the coat so it's a little bit shinier without having to give it that nasty oil. He seems happy and I'm happy as well. Also, he's never had any digestion issues so that's a huge factor especially being a purebred being known for having digestion issues. Also, the quality is good because I don't have to feed her as much like the dog food that you buy at the grocery store. I don't have to give him two cups and I go by her weight and the chart on the bag. The chart feels all right and she doesn't seem to be hungry. I normally use the duck and the bison. I'm not crazy about the fish one because it is smelly. I buy at Main Stream Pets and the guy who's there, Scott, is really knowledgeable and I trust him. I also definitely like the fact that I buy 12 bags and I get the next one free. They give me a green envelope at the pet store, I cut out the little symbol on the bag, collect 12 of those, take it back up to the pet store and I get a new bag. My dog named Boudreaux is a mix. But, he's a Border Terrier so that means it got a lot of terrier in him. It looks like he's got a pug tail and it's really hyper. I went into a local, small pet store when I first got my rescue dog and told the lady there which pet food they sent with him. She said not to use that. She looked them up online and said that Canidae is one of the best. I live in a fairly rural area so I had to make sure I could get it and when I found out that I could then I went with it.

I've been purchasing the All Life Stages Formula for two years and it was due to its availability. They appear to be natural and have some of the better ingredients in them. I also give him food that I make myself. He had a series of bladder problems and the doctor discovered that he was too base. He needed to be a little more alkaline. So, I make him some food with blueberries in it. He then gets a mixture.

Feeding our pets with natural ingredients is very important. I had a little Shih Tzu that had a lot of medical problems and I cooked her food for 10 years. It's as important as it is for us. The pets these days have a lot more problems and cancers. It maybe from the things that are in our environment and the food. Given that, I've recommended Canidae.

Feeding my pets natural ingredients is very valuable. Even the pet store that we use has natural pet food basically and everything made in America. They are the ones that recommended me to switch to Canidae five years ago. I was using Apex before that but they went out of business. I have two Shih Tzu dogs. They were my grandmother's and I inherited them when she passed away. They are Sobee and Krissy, 11 and 12, and they have severe food allergies. They eat the one that's grain free limited ingredient made with fresh duck and it definitely helps with the allergies.

Actually, all of my dogs are on it now, even our foster dog. They just have a different variety. My senior dog has really bad arthritis and he recently tore his ACL. So, he's on platinum and that adds stuff to the joints and that helps them get around better. And then, the foster one eats the regular Life Stages. I always have a foster dog and they just trade him now. But we have one for over a year and a half and he had been about to die from being starved. The vet said that he was the skinniest dog he'd ever seen that was still alive and the Canidae helped him come back. He gained 50 pounds in a year. Canidae is really healthy for them. They don't itch at all, no skin issues, and no diarrhea or bowel problems. It's the best food I've ever had them on.

I also love the fact that at our pet store, for the 12th bag that you buy, it's free. Because my older dog food is $50 a bag and most of the higher end dog food are at that same price or higher. So, it's definitely beneficial. That's pretty good. Obviously, it will be cheaper for me if it was cheaper but I know it's not good for my dog so, I just pay for it. This is what I recommend to everyone because no matter what kind of dog you have or what kind of problems they have, Canidae has a food that will be good for them.

I also have a 10-year-old Boston Terrier and a one-year-old Lab who are still on Canidae and I've been giving them the Grain Free. I had problems with my first Lab when his anal glands got infected and I had to switch to Grain Free as the vet recommended. I used to take my dog in every three months to get his glands cleaned out. But since I did the Grain Free, it's now about six to seven months. My only comment is that they increased the price but reduced the size of the bag. Instead of a 50-pound, it went down to a 40-pound and the pricing went up, and I thought that was kind of odd. But other than that, my dogs seem healthy and there weren't any serious illnesses with any of them.

It's extremely important to me that I'm feeding my pets natural ingredients, and the less ingredients they have, the better off. I was using Purina Pro Plan and still am part of their breeder program, but they made some formula changes and I didn't like that. Also, Purina Pro Plan was using a lot of chicken and there's been studies showing that there are a lot of dogs that are allergic to it. I have one little girl here who had allergy issues that occurred about five years ago. I had to change her food three times and I eliminated chicken which seemed to help. So I was looking for another very good quality grain-free food that didn't have recalls on their list and that brought me to the Canidae Pure Land and Pure Sky kibble. And once in a while I pick up a bag of Pure Elements.

I give them to my Miniature Smooth Dachshunds and one Labrador. They range from age one to 14 and a half. I wanted to maintain their health and the stool quality that I had going on with Purina Pro Plan before they changed things. But I don't feed them strictly Canidae Pure Land and Pure Sky. I mix them together with a couple others. I also mix their Sky kibble with Honest Kitchen because of the need for lower Sodium and lower fat content for a couple of my older dogs. But my Lab is completely on the Sky. There's a new Canidae line that usually is grain-free and they sent me coupons for them. But I have not been able to locate them very easily. It's pointless to have coupons that I can't use to even try the products.

If you're going to a new bag, it will show the multi-protein on there. Eating that type of food, the dogs will go to the bathroom a couple of times a day but they go to the bathroom better. It's more solid and there's a better color to it. It sounds crazy but it's the truth. Give dogs junk food, not good dog food, and they’re gonna have the runs. With Canidae, they don't. You can tell it's so much better for them. It's a good and healthy dog food. Unless the dogs get sick or something happens to them, they are gonna live longer if they eat healthy food with nutrients.

When I joined up on Canidae, I get emails and I like that. I can print off coupons. One time, they sent it to me and for some reason we couldn't get it through the email and I was waiting on it while I called them up and they were very cooperative. They were sorry that that happened and they sent me some coupons. And one time our representative from Canidae was in the Family Pet warehouse where I buy the pet food from. They were giving $10 coupons, which was fantastic. Plus they got these green things and for every 12 you buy, you get one free. That's very nice because I buy the Canidae treats, the Canidae wet and the dry foods, and any time you can save a couple of bucks, I'm all for it. They got excellent customer service. I’ve been buying Canidae for about eight years, and when I talk to people who have dogs, like my son who has a couple, I highly recommend it.

I have been using Canidae for my pets for 20 years. It helps with the coat. My dogs had dry spots and hotspots. I had one with each, so Canidae took care of that. I've always liked Canidae. It's been good for me. Plus, the one I have right now tastes better than the previous variant I use. People ask me, "What do you recommend?" I usually put Canidae at number one. Before, you had to go to certain places to get them. The stores I went to closed at 5:00 and I had to get off work at 5:00, so I have to really make sure I got it on a weekend and that I don't run out, but I don't mind. I had another place I could go to that closes at 7:00 but it was kind of a drive. However, Petco now sells it, so availability is getting a lot easier.

We adopted our dog, Max, in Feb. 2016. He's a small Jackhuahua. The day we adopted him we were unsure of which food to put him on. In the shelter they started giving him Merrick so we decided to try it, although he was only in there for 1.5 days before we got him. Max didn't seem to care that much for the food. He also had some issues with Lyme vaccine & was constantly scratching, licking etc. Therefore our vet had put him on a prescription diet, Hill's hypoallergenic food. Again, he barely ate bit when we made ground beef with rice. He would scarf it up. Months passed & we were still on Hill's. We stumbled across someone whom suggested we try Canidae grain free PURE line instead of Blue Buffalo as we were contemplating which would be better overall for our little guy. We gave the Canidae a try. We purchased the one with bison just because it seemed like it'd be a tastier meal for him.

Upon the first try of giving it to him, he literally cleaned his dish! He enjoyed every little morsel. As of my writing this he has been on the Canidae for about 7.5 months. We have yet to try the duck, salmon, lamb & wild boar ones but the salmon is on our list to purchase next and try to switch the flavors/proteins up. We originally wanted the wild boar but our stores that sold Canidae did not have it in stock. A small bag goes a long way with him because he is 8 lbs. Also, he has less poop which has firmed up more, and not too smelly. It also does not have corn, soy or wheat in it but does have vitamins & minerals added. Max also isn't shedding as much and has actually had hair growing in certain spots that were practically bald.

Overall, I highly recommend the Canidae Grain Free PURE line (any flavor!) I am very happy we gave it a try as I'm sure our Max would say the same. It is a bit more costly but overall the benefits are so good for your furbaby plus they don't need that much of it - depending on the size of your pet too of course. One other thing I've noticed, which was one thing I did check out before purchasing was if there were any recalls etc and there were none and have been none since we've been using It. I believe the last recall we've seen was from early 2012 or 2013 and was voluntary. Give it a try! If your furbaby doesn't like it or you notice it's not the thing for him/her, depending on where you purchase it, you can return & either get refund or exchange it. I've purchased mine at our local Petco since PetSmart doesn't carry it.

We chose Canidae when we had an older dog that needed a good bland diet which was a diet that was chicken and rice and not a lot of proteins or anything else. He passed away, though, but in the meantime, our other dogs have gotten used to Canidae. We rescue dogs and we have 11 of them. We’ve been using Canidae for our pets for two years now. It's extremely valuable that we feed them natural ingredients and I mix Canidae in with dry food which they like. We haven't had any problem at all. We had another older dog who is still alive, a Mastiff, who started dealing with some thyroid issues. I give her Canidae in addition to her Kibble and I try to keep her on that. I continue to buy Canidae for her.

It’s been a good experience overall. However, Canidae has gotten a little expensive for us so I haven't been able to buy as much of it. I would buy 10 of it at a time then I would save those little tags on the top. If I could get a good deal, I’d be happy. I love the food, but we have to reserve it for the dogs that really need it. Otherwise, I’d recommend Canidae. It's healthy, beneficial, and easy.

One of the requirements I wanted was a large breed puppy food, because I have a brother and sister Standard Poodle, and Canidae had it. I wanted puppy food because it's more formulated for them when they're young. And then when it's time to switch, I just stuck with Canidae and went to adult food. I've used them for two years and three months now. I fed my previous dog with cheap stuff and whatever Costco had, but I'm getting better results with Canidae. So I recommend it. So we’ve been using it for a couple of years now for both of my dogs, and they seem to really love it. We are using the Grain Free currently. My dogs are very picky, so they get fed better than most, and I’m proud of that. Unfortunately, the West Highland White Terrier died last November at 14 years old. She was a spayed female dog and was just sweet and wonderful. She was very healthy and happy on the food. It was perfect for her and we didn't feed her any other food. She had one Milk-bone dog biscuit and she only gets a couple of biscuits a day. But aside from that, she thrived on the dog food. We never gave her scraps. It was an excellent experience with Canidae. I don't think her death had anything to do with her dog food and she always loved it.

I got another chocolate Lab and a yellow Lab and they’re both been on it too. My yellow’s been on it ever since she was a pup and she’s now nine. Giving my Labs natural food is very valuable because I don’t want to give them Pedigree junk food. They are part of my family so I want them to have as long a life as much as possible. I tell everybody that I know that have animals, especially people with Labs, that they should feed their dogs Canidae. I’ve had several friends that were feeding their Labs junk food and they switched to Canidae and noticed immediately a big difference in their animals.

We have a local lady who opened up a shop and she carried it. It’s the one that she recommends very highly to everybody who goes there. She only carries a select few and Canidae was one of them so we purchased one. Since then, our dog always had a really shiny coat. He doesn’t get sick. In fact, I got other people on it, too. Our old roommate got a puppy and it was nice because we had the All Ages, so we didn’t have to go out and buy separate food. It’s convenient to have and we don’t see that in a lot of dog food.

My pets are my kids, so it's at the top of my list that I feed them natural ingredients. That's why I've been buying them Canidae for about four years already. I have two weenie dogs, and I've been babysitting my dad's Border Collie, who's now also on Canidae. The lady that I buy it from at Ladida in Washington told me that the Life Stages would be a good bag so I didn't have to get a bag for each breed or each age group, and that it was a good all-around, so I didn't have to bring home five different bags of dog food. I took her advice as she seems to know her product and has a lot of fur animals like I do. My dogs are all pretty healthy, so I've already recommended it to my family. It's peace of mind knowing that I'm doing well for my animals. I just know it's a good product and it's convenient.

We've been purchasing Canidae pet food for at least 11 years, and it's the only one that we use now. Our oldest dog is 11 years old. We have three dogs -- a half-Shepherd and half-Rottweiler, a black Lab, and a half-Cocker Spaniel and half-Wiener. My friend who works for Canidae was the one who told me about them. I used Canidae for a while before and then we went cheap. But after we used a couple of bags of something else, our dogs' skin was affected. We took the dogs to our vet and she asked if we switched food, and I said, "Yeah, we switched from Canidae." She said, "Okay. Well, go back." So, ever since then, our dogs eat nothing but Canidae.

Feeding our pets natural ingredients is absolutely important for their well-being, their skin, and even their energy levels. It keeps them healthy. We switched from the regular Canidae, to regular food, then to the Senior. We switched to Canidae Overweight for our smaller dog that was getting a little too chubby and it actually helped the dog lose a little bit of weight and our dogs love it just as much.

I switched my dogs to Canidae about a year ago. I spoke to one of their representatives at Petco and he told me about the list of ingredients that they had. As Shar Peis, my dogs reacted very well to the Boar brand. The oldest one is a senior dog, about 12 years old. Then I have a set of puppies that just turned 7 months, and their mom is about 2 years old. The puppies are eating the puppy food, and they love the chicken flavor. Then the oldest one is eating the boar flavor. They have really good coats, which are at their shiniest and look amazing.

In addition, I enjoy the little treats, the Salmon Treats, that break in half. They're amazing, especially for the puppies, since I'm training them to sit and stay, and teaching them different types of things to listen to. That helps a lot. They also like the canned food. I always recommend this brand to people who have issues with their dog's skin. I'm extremely satisfied with Canidae products and, as of now, I would never switch to any other product.

I've been purchasing Canidae food for my pet for close to four years. The dog trainer we were working with at the time recommended it very highly for our two German Shepherds - 14 year old Gidget and 4 year old Knox. We've just been doing Pure. The trainer had recommended it and I found that the Grain-Free tends to work better with my dogs' skin and they like it a lot. We started with Pure Sky, the one with the duck. Then, we transitioned to Pure Sea, the one with salmon and other fish.

However, it was a bummer that about a year or so ago, they changed the packaging. It went from being a 30 pound bag to a 24 pound bag, but the price stayed exactly the same. The place that we purchase the dog food from has a good coupon system. They send out Canidae coupons monthly, and it's usually $2 off for the small bag and $5 off for the largest bag. Since I have two dogs, I need the largest bag, the 24 pound one. But then, Canidae also has the 12 pound bag, and I get a free bag when I buy that, so that works really good, too. Apart from the change in packaging, Canidae's been a great product and I like all the little savings perks.

I use a number of different brands and Canidae is one of them. I buy in very large quantities, about 10 to 20 bags at a time, of both ALS and Platinum. I have a bunch of dogs, and the younger ones eat the ALS. The only thing I don't like about the ALS out of all of the food that I feed them, is that it has the highest calorie content per cup.

I have a hard time keeping many of the dogs on it for any length of time because it puts too much weight on them. If we're trying to put weight on the dogs, then it's a great diet. But once they achieve that and we're trying to maintain them, they eat such a tiny amount of it to get the calories that they need that they think they're starving to death, so we have to switch them to something else. I wish that there's a formula that's not so calorie-laden for the younger dogs. But apart from that, we've had really good luck with it through the years. I've always been happy with Canidae, and I appreciate that it hasn't been recalled dozens of times.

I have a two-year-old South African Boerboel. They're a mastiff-type highly intelligent breed developed in Africa for herd and farm protection. I'm a burly guy and I need a burly dog for mobility assistance. We're training him up for mobility assistance work for disabled veterans. If it works, we'll breed him and the pups will be given to the veterans and they'll go through puppy, intermediate, and advanced classes and then be turned over to Tender Loving Canine which is a service training dog organization. We're also training him to get up on the bed and then the second you fall asleep he gets off the bed, and when you have nightmares he’ll wake you up.

I was looking for a different dog food other than Red Flannel and I happen to be talking with a couple of other dog trainers. They said they've been having a lot of good success with Canidae because of filler in it with brown rice and not a bunch of grains and things. I talked with the folks at my local feed store down here on Woodside and they told me to try it out. So, I tried it and it seems to get real good results.

Feeding my dog with non-GMO is absolutely critical. A lot of the corn fillers are genetically modified and that DNA strand in the bacteria when it gets loose will be absorbed by the other bacteria and dogs are having problems that people are having now. Most people's health problems are related to the fact that they're not consuming food but food-like substance, no nutritional value, and you can't pronounce the names at the label so it's a good idea not to eat it. I've been told that the brown rice was GMO rice and other than a little distressed when he first switched over to it from Red Flannel, he's been fine on Canidae. It made him healthy and growing.

We always try to get the best quality foods we put before him. The human body and any animal body is a machine. You put in crap, you're going to get crappy results. Save a little bit of money because it's on sale but what's in it? Nobody's buying it because it's crap. How much are you going to save now and pay later in the vet? I've been really pleased with Canidae so far and I've recommended it to other people.

I've been purchasing Canidae since 2007 and we're getting Life Stages because we were told it will feed the dogs from puppyhood all the way through senior, senior, senior dogs.

Canidae is also a product we can afford because our dogs eat a lot. We also learned one reason why we got Canidae besides it being better for them was, versus a commercial brand, we can feed them less so it stretches longer than the other ones. For any other brand, we feed them (a Great Dane & an English Mastiff) 10 cups a day in the winter but with Canidae we can feed them 8 cups a day. We go through the big 44-pound bag every two weeks so the 12 and 1 program isn’t bad. We go through every six months then get a free one, which is very nice. So all in all, Canidae has great quality and price.

I learned about Canidae from somebody at work and they told me about it and then that’s when I started going to the feed store because it’s way better than Petco. Petco has Canidae, too, but cost-wise, it’s just a way better deal. I have a Siberian Husky and a Brindle Pit Bull Muscle breed. I also have Afro, the Husky, he is five going on six, and Lock is seven. And since I’m not working right now and I’m on disability, I can't afford to get two different types of food. So, Canidae Life Stages seemed like a good medium as far as giving the Husky and the Pit what they need. And I get individualized products that I can afford, like for my Husky, I mix Omega 3 Fish oil with the Canidae.

I like Canidae because it doesn't make the dog’s skin flaky like Pedigree. My dogs have really nice coats. Even when they’re dirty, they don’t really stink. When they come inside, they just smell like outside so they don’t stink up the house. I feed my dogs twice a day and so I get the 44-pound bag because it lasts longer than a month, so it’s nice. It’s a good dog food. There are some dog foods out there that are really expensive which are better, but you have to be practical about what you can afford. And so, Canidae is good because it’s not some cheap dog food, but it’s not stupidly expensive either. Our dogs are healthy. And they have nice coats because of what we feed them.

Our dog, Ace, is part Labrador and part Shepherd. We started buying Canidae when we got him from the animal shelter about 12 years ago. It was recommended that we do that because that's what he had been started out on at the animal shelter. I purchase the 44 pounds bag of Canidae, the greenish brown variety and we've been really pleased with it. For the first 11 years that we've had our dog, it was more for the nutrition that we got this dog food for him. In his younger years, he would go through it pretty quick because he was pretty active then. We're spending $50 to $60 a pop. But we like the incentive where you buy so many bags and get one free.

It's very important to feed our dog with natural ingredients. Ace got diagnosed with cancer a year ago, in November. They gave him six months to live if we didn't do any chemotherapy for him, and I couldn't do that. I did not want him to be sick. What I want for my dog is for him to be able to run, to go to the bathroom outside, and to eat and play. It's over a year later and he's still doing those things. We add a little bit of fat to his diet because he's lost so much weight. We do the Canidae but then we add extra because sometimes he doesn't want to eat, so if we spiced his food up a little bit, then he will eat. Then he'll be around with us longer. At this point, we're not just going for the nutrition. We're going to keep him happy and comfortable.

I used to buy Beneful before switching to Canidae. I live next to a feed store and they told me that the difference between Beneful and Canidae is like serving McDonald's food every night versus a home-cooked meal. I've been purchasing Canidae for eight years or more. In the past, we had three different set dogs in three different stages, but since then, Canidae's All Stages worked out really good for us. All our dogs are pit bulls and 2 of them, Brutus and Scarlet, have passed since then with 3 months in between. Chloe is still alive and she's a 7-year-old Red nose. She’s been on Canidae since she was born. She has put on a bunch of weight after the other two dogs passed away so I put her on a diet plan, which helps. She’s on the senior dog food now and it’s been quiet. I was told to switch her on Life Stages so I chose that. We’ve also been getting her out to walk.

I wouldn’t change Chloe's dog food for anything. Canidae is good for her and she’s a really healthy dog. We haven’t had any problems with her dog food, and that goes for all the other dogs we had. We don’t feed her wet food because wet foods is not good for dog’s teeth anyway. We just give her dry Canidae. Canidae is great and I don’t mind paying more for it because our pet is like our kid. I've even gotten two of my friends to switch over to Canidae.

You have to feed your pets natural ingredients, otherwise you end up with dogs with problems, with stomach bloating and all kinds of other things they end up with. With the Canidae, they don't have any of that because it's filling, so a little goes a long way. They get full on a very small amount of food.

Our dog was on the Regular Canidae and then as she got older, we put her on the Senior which was better because the dog gains weight on it, and the Senior works wonderful for her. When our dogs got older, we put all of them on Canidae Senior. It's worked very well for us. We've lost three pets in the last year. Gwen was 13. She was a Border Collie. Lucy was 17. She was a Toy Poodle. Danny was 11 and he was a Toy Poodle, too. Now we have Chloe and she's seven, and she's the last one left on Canidae Senior. With the glucosamine and other ingredients, Canidae Senior works really well for older dogs. It's imperative that our pets have the Canidae dog food. It's an absolute necessity for them. They can do without other things, but not that. So, Canidae, please don't quit making it.

We've been purchasing Canidae for 10 years and our experience has been great. We've got old dogs and one that's not so old, so we've been buying the Life Stages for them. Our dogs like it.

My dogs have allergies and they're picky. Canidae was the one that they ended up liking and could eat. The dog I had when I started using Canidae was a Pit but I don't have it anymore. I now have a Shepherd mix puppy so I tried Life Stages but she doesn't like it at all. I also tried her on Canidae PURE Puppy but she doesn't really like it, too. She tried the one with Bison and she likes it so I'll probably get that from now on.

Canidae was recommended at the pet store and my dog seems to like it so I've been buying it for years. We're satisfied.

Both of our dogs had a little bit of sensitivity and Canidae was the one that they tolerated the most. Life Stages is the one we've always stuck with. When our dogs were pups, we've mixed Life Stages in with Canidae Wet Food and then continued on with it from there. We've had a possibly bad bag that the dog hasn't wanted, and any time that we've contacted Canidae, they've responded.

I had my dogs on Nutro for 10 years and they had done beautifully, then all of a sudden it started making them sick. They were throwing up, didn't want to eat it, and just laying around with no energy. I did a lot research trying to find good food and didn't have a whole lot of luck with that, because every food out there has been recalled at some time. So I called my breeder back and she had her kennel on Canidae for years and had very good results. I noticed that there had not been a recall on this food since 2009 and it looked like a fairly good food. She told me it was, so I decided I'd try it with a bag and I'm having good results with it so far.

I have three Bichon Frises. All three of them are males and two of them are six months apart. One will be 11 next month and six months later, the other one will also be 11 years old. The younger dog is a year and a half. They've all been on the dry limited ingredient pure essentials made with lamb for about six weeks now. When I first put them on this food, about two weeks later, they started to pep up and they are really doing well with it. I'm having excellent results with it so far.

I'm on my second bag of Canidae and I can definitely tell a huge difference. They're eating better and they seem to love the food. Their energy level has really gone up and they're back playing again. They're not laying around like they're sick and haven't thrown up even once. I'm pretty happy with the energy and the health-wise aspects of it.

I'm also happy with the food having natural ingredients in it. I had called them because I noticed there was an ingredient in the food that I wasn't sure about. They told me what it was and what it was for. I was very happy with the way that they responded and the way they took my call and were willing to help me understand what was in the food. They were available when I wanted to talk to them. Right off the bat, they were more than willing to answer any question I had. I have tried other dog food companies before and no one would take the time to answer my questions or even talk to me.

I would feel much more comfortable with Canidae after I've had my dogs on it a little lot longer and if I knew for sure it wasn't still made at the Diamond Factory. I know they have another factory that they built. I don't know if this particular food is still at the Diamond Factory or if they plan to move all of their food eventually to the new factory. That is one question I would be interested in, which I forgot to ask when I called them. But as of now I'm very happy with Canidae.

We have six dogs and they all like Canidae. We've been buying it for five years now and we get the 45-pound bag, the big one. Our dogs are healthy and Canidae is good for their coats. We've very satisfied and we'd recommend Canidae to anybody.

We were looking for a higher fiber content food for our old dog which had gland issues. Canidae has high quality pet food so we had him on it for probably 10 years. He's passed away though but we still do the All Life Stages for my other dog and the feline for my cat. They don't have as many medical bills because they're intaking good things. I'm very satisfied with Canidae.

We have been trying different pet foods that would work with the different dogs we had that were different ages and different breeds. We were down in Lake Havasu and there was a pet food store there that gave us Canidae samples. It worked for all our dogs so we've stuck with it. Our dogs all do really well with it so we've been very pleased with it.

Canidae was recommended by my sister. She's a dog person and she had nine dogs so I thought it was a good thing. I've been buying Canidae for my 11-yr old golden retriever for 11 years now. I love it for her. She likes it and it's helped her a lot. However, it's getting expensive and I hope they can continue selling coupons. Also, we're missing the dog biscuits that they used to have. We love those, too.

My vet recommended Canidae Pet Foods for my pets. I have Boxers with ages, 11, 4, 3 and 1 and I'm giving them Canidae All Life Stages chicken and rice flavor and they all seem to like it. I also had a litter puppy that I had the Canidae as well. I've only been feeding my pets for about three months so I haven't seen a big difference yet. But I know it's all natural and feeding my pet natural ingredients is very valuable. It would be nice though if the company could use more of a plastic packaging, instead of the paper which seems to rip easily and bugs can get in there. I also requested puppy kit and I did not receive any.
