We have used the ASPCA Pet Insurance service for over 16 years. Their services are comprehensive, fairly priced, and their representatives are solutions focused. Claims are processed in a reasonable amount of time. When we have experienced pet loss, their team is empathetic and eager to resolve any outstanding claims.

Great insurance, for sure I recommend it to anyone who needs a coverages for their animals. They are fast, great coverage. Mine almost 90%. And are also the customer service is very respectful. And knowledgeable. I tried other companies with other animals and they never worked as good as APSCA. They check the claims in a few days and make the reimbursement right after approval. You can do everything online.

Spend over $100 a month on pet insurance with ASCPA. Only to suddenly find out a claim for $400 is not covered because my daughter is the vet my dog was seen by...come on. ASPCA paid in the past and suddenly out of the blue they establish this policy. What good is insurance if you can't use it. All I am doing is padding their pockets. Not to mention their pay out takes months at a time. I was told at the time of signing my dog(s) up for this insurance this would not be the case. Would not recommend as they are two faced and liars.

Having had a number of other pet insurances, I can say that ASPCA has by far been better than any other pet insurance I have had in the past. The company is fair, it doesn’t raise its rates every time my pets go to the vet, and is prompt in getting me reimbursed. Thank you ASPCA staff for your professionalism.

I have been with ASPCA Pet Insurance for 15 years, initially drawn to what I believed was a reputable company. This belief was put to the test and found lacking. My experience has shown that while everything may seem fine when your dog is healthy, the true test of an insurance comes when you face a crisis. Last year, my healthy dog was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away within 14 days. Despite this painful loss, I decided to give ASPCA another chance with our new dog.
Regrettably, just two months later, my new dog developed hyperparathyroidism. When I submitted the insurance claim, it was swiftly denied due to being considered a 'pre-existing condition'. It has become evident that ASPCA will find any loophole to deny claims, effectively making their coverage only beneficial if your pet remains healthy. It appears that ASPCA is more interested in collecting premiums than in providing the support and coverage that pets and their owners need. I am deeply disappointed and feel misled by a company that I thought was the best in the field. I advise potential customers to consider other options, as this company might let you down when you most need them.

Customer Service seems OK every now and then calling them is like hide and seek they try to be helpful but not enough and finally got to have everything that they asked for and then they make it complicated by asking for certain history of my dog in which impossible to get because the vet don’t Have what they are requesting for. I’ve been with my bed for Since 2019. I had two dogs already with them. I have a third one right now and they don’t do checks yearly. Check if the dog is wipe, the dog is fine. We go for every Vaccination that is needed, but this company are easy to approve me and get my money in the bank but when it’s time for them to reverse, they give me a hard time asking for so many paperwork back-and-forth they even talk to the vet themselves. The vet is already annoyed with them. I finally gave up just now requesting for them to return the money that I paid monthly for the last eight months. I will never recommend this place ever.

I have had ASPCA insurance for my pup for about 3 years now. Any time my dog has any kind of issue I immediately send off the invoice and get the reimbursement within 5 days! It’s incredible how fast and efficient it is. I will never change and will eventually upgrade to include wellness checks too!

I've used their preventative health services and it was really easy. I had my vet print out a receipt and I sent that in with the claim. It usually gets processed pretty fast and I get reimbursed. But we tried to add a pet and the website didn't let us. They have to fix that. Also, the app sucks compared to the website. Other than that, I would recommend ASPCA to others.

ASPCA wouldn't cover a lab test. It was the lab coded as "Senior Wellness" even though it was just a generalized test. Because the name said wellness in it, they wouldn't cover it. It was annoying but other than that, ASPCA is worth it because I have such a great discount. I'm a veterinary technician. I get a 75% discount. It's mid-range coverage, mid-range cost. There are other companies out there that will pay more, but I would have to pay more.

ASPCA has been great. I had a puppy boxer and they require a lot of attention. I use the insurance every month. Getting a reimbursement is really quick. It takes no longer than four weeks.

They took my payment and then they started my policy 2 weeks later and my cat got sick in between when I signed up and before my policy started. Guess what they told me my cat got sick before the policy started but yet they took my payment 2 weeks before the policy started. So of course I had to eat what I paid for my cat hospital bill!!!! Total ripped off in my words. Real sad how they run a business.

Any condition that happens during this 14-day waiting period would be considered pre-existing and not eligible for coverage unless your pet’s condition has been cured and free from treatment and symptoms for a period of 180 days.

Have never had pet insurance but my brother has. My dogs have always been healthy etc. But a new one who is awesome but not graceful left me feeling pet ins. Is a good idea. Picked ASPCA for multiple reasons. Sure enough months after I got ins. The dog blew out her knee. Took to vet. They recommended surgery. Dad it done. Filed estimate before surgery 10 days out. Could not get an answer. Day after surgery denied. Turns out the vet had put a single line on paperwork with an error. Talked to Aspca and the supervisor said, "Well you didn't actually file a claim yet so do that with corrected paperwork." Denied again. They give no reason.
You have to call and berate the people to give you the reason. 2 agents before the supervisor said they could not anything that supported the denied claim just that it was denied. I am giving them one more opportunity to correct before I hire an attorney. They think the payout on the surgery was decent, they will be paying a lot more when I'm done.

I liked ASPCA Pet Health Insurance's rates and coverage. I just chose the one that is for emergencies. Because moneywise, it makes more sense for the emergencies instead of paying the extra, which I would put towards the regular maintenance fees, like shots. The dog that I initially got the insurance for is a French Bulldog. Most insurance companies charge higher rates for them. And they've covered me every time I've needed them without issues. So, it has been very easy to file a claim and get reimbursed. I got somebody that was awful to deal with the first go around when asking the correct way to file. But the next person was great. This past time, my dog had a complication after a surgery that was a three-day stay in an emergency hospital on seven grand. After I filed the claim, ASPCA reimbursed me within five days for the full annual amount of $5,000. My dad is thinking of switching over to ASPCA.

I have two Maine Coons and I compared the quote between Nationwide Pet Insurance and ASPCA, and Nationwide provided 70% of the reimbursement and they have an annual limit of $10,000 for Maine Coons. But ASPCA can have 90% of reimbursement with unlimited amount per year. Although monthly fee is more expensive for ASPCA, I'd rather have peace of mind for the Maine Coon cat, so I enrolled my two Maine Coon cats with ASPCA and my regular short-hair domestic cat with Nationwide. ASPCA does fast reimbursements. I never had problems with that. Their app is also easy to use.

I didn't get the full on coverage with ASPCA, but it pays for part of my bills, which helps with some of the medical expenses that we have with pets.

I like ASPCA. They have been very helpful whenever I call. The policy is also very affordable. I signed both my cat and my dog up. If anything happened to either one of them, I at least have some insurance on them. I have had to use the insurance twice. I pay first, send in the claim then they send me the money back in a week once the claim is approved. I didn't realize as I was applying that they also do preventative health so I signed up one dog. Now I gotta wait for all the other policies to go through.

We have been very happy and impressed with ASPCA INS. Our dog, Teak, has the usual maladies that dogs have throughout their lives. She has also had serious issues that have been taken care of by ASPCA Ins. Claims have been handled in timely fashion and the everyone we’ve dealt with have been knowledgeable and kind and very helpful. I have recommended ASPCA Ins to family and friends who have fur babies. This is the BEST pet insurance and worth the money! I have had ASPCA for many years and they always treat me and my pets well and pay claims in a timely manner or ask for additional information if needed. I tried a less expensive policy a few years ago and it was terrible. Do not go anywhere else!

The enrollment process with ASPCA was very easy. I'm running into a few little issues lately, but up until now, it's been really good. My dog has a lot of allergies and stomach issues and has to be on a certain prescription food and prescription allergy medicine made specifically for my dog. I called and I checked with ASPCA and they said they will cover that on an ongoing basis. When I sent the latest food prescription and the receipt, it got rejected saying they now consider it a maintenance. My problem is if my dog isn't eating this food, I will be at the vet all the time on medication. My dog needs to be on this medication.
Otherwise, my dog has constant diarrhea and vomit and needs to be on this food. It's not cheap but I'm getting it at a discount and buying all the right things, and I have the prescription from the vet. I sent that along and they said that, "No, it's called the maintenance." So, now, I'm waiting for a letter from the vet saying, "Yeah, the dog has to continue being on this food, but it's not right that the insurance doesn't cover that." Other than that, the response has been very slow sometimes due to COVID, but it's been very easy to deal with.

Every pet owner should have pet insurance. Not worrying about how to pay for a medical procedure makes it possible to make the best decisions for your animal. My experiences with ASPCA Pet Insurance have been really good in terms of completing and submitting claims. The processing times can be slow, but that’s gotten better recently. The app works well. I've filed a couple of claims with ASPCA. I also got the preventative care on the one younger dog that we have and they seem to be pretty fair with their analysis. I got reimbursed for what I paid for the preventative care, the new puppy exam fee, the heart worm, and the distemper shot. He's going in for neutering and I'll get something back on that too. When I talk to other dog owners and we're talking pet insurance, I'll recommend ASPCA.

This is the only review website that has a high rating for ASPCA Pet Insurance. Let me save you the hassle and tell you to stay far, far away from this service. After my experience, I went on to find many other reviews with the same results. NO REIMBURSEMENT, even for things they said would be reimbursed. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

ASPCA insurance provides us with good coverage at a fair price. Their online claims submission is easy to navigate. The processing time to receive payments is excellent. I signed up for ASPCA just in case, and we haven't had to use it at all for our one dog, whereas our other dog, we've used it quite a bit. My dog has been diagnosed with a skin condition, and we've been at the vet almost every month and then there is the medication. Having the insurance, it covers quite a bit and they reimburse me. The only time I had a problem was when I was trying to submit two forms at once. The website wouldn't work for the second one. When I called, the lady gave me the manual form to do and the process was really quick. It was two days, when they told me it could be five to seven. It was definitely beneficial.
One thing I didn't like was when I called ASPCA to ask about upping the limit, they told me that they would have to cancel the policy and restart a new one instead of just allowing me to up the policy. They told me that I have to keep the policy that I have, and once I max out at the 5,000, that's it, or I could get a new policy and up the limit to 10,000. However, everything would be considered pre-existing because it was under a different policy, and they wouldn't cover anything even though we've had insurance with them for the last year. They said the only thing that I could change would be, instead of reimbursing 80%, I could up it to 90%, but I wouldn't be able to do it until October when the policy renews.

I've been with ASPCA for a while. My dog was having some minor issues with her teeth, so I got the full plan plus the wellness plan that helped cover some of her dental cleanings each year. I just recently did one claim. I used their member portal. I clicked on my pet, filled in my claim, and uploaded my receipt from my veterinarian. The latest claims I've done for 2024 have been processed quickly. However, from mid to late last year, it was taking them a little longer than they had ever taken to process. Normally, it's about two weeks, and last year, it was like eight weeks.
When my previous pet passed away and I called to cancel my insurance, ASPCA was excellent at taking care of everything. They sent me a card. Someone personally called me. I called and talked to somebody. Then another person called to tell me that they were sorry. I said I was getting another dog, and it was easy to put my new puppy on there, get quotes, and make a decision. The pet insurance works out for me. My previous pet started with just a few minor teeth problems but for her 14 years, she did end up having an illness that required prescription, food, and medication. I do carry the wellness part of the plan, so they pay for prescription food and drugs. They cover a lot. So, I find value in pet insurance because I have historically always received more back than I paid in premiums.

It was simple getting started with ASPCA. I sent in some paperwork showing that my account did not have any pre-existing conditions, and sent my first payment in, and it was all set. They have a great policy although I found policies that are just as good but cheaper.

It is impossible to cancel this service. I found several other insurance options that both had much better coverage and cost less so I decided to switch. I followed the instructions on the website to cancel my service but they have now charged me three extra months, despite more emails and phone calls. I had to fill out a form with my bank to keep them from charging me again.
I was also disappointed to learn that this company is not associated with the actual ASPCA. This I learned when I called the insurance company and they couldn't do anything over the phone to help me, but told me to keep emailing. (eyeroll). I highly recommend looking into different companies that will cost less and help you better protect your pet.

I placed a claim and it wasn't processed. Supposedly they requested info from the vet and claimed the vet didn't send it. I called the vet and the vet never received a request. I gave them the email address to send it to and they still didn't process it. I had to call and get nasty for them to get the info from the vet. It took 2 to 3 weeks to process the claim. UNACCEPTABLE!!

I haven't had an issue with ASPCA until now. I have two dogs and with the last claim I filed, they wouldn't accept the invoice that I attached to the claims because one figure went for one dog and the other figure was for the other dog. I needed an itemized bill but my vet doesn't do that. Other than that, everything's been great so far.

It's an easy process to file claims. We've never had major issues in terms of trying to get payout for a claim. For one period of time, they were delayed with processing. But they had a bunch of claims coming through awkwardly at that time. Other than that, it has been a very smooth process. And most of the time, they were right on the board with what we pay for and what we get compensated for.
Anytime we take our pups to the vet, we would get an invoice. We would take a photo of it and submit it to ASPCA's website and give the details they need to determine whether they would pay out for that claim. Our one dog always finds a way to basically get herself in trouble each year. So, it has been nice to be able to get some of that cost back.

Having this coverage helped save me money on some of my pet expenses. There appear to be some expenses not covered that I believe should be such as the required poison control call ($100 charge) before taking my animal to the emergency room. And some maintenance visits required, such as vaccinations for Bordetella, parvo, rabies. Filing a claim was not easy at first however now that I have submitted a few claims, it has become a bit easier.

I learnt the hard way how painful not having pet insurance can be. The shear heartbreak when they are really sick and the massive medical bills to save a life. I like the online platform. I very easily upload the PDFs from my vet & am reimbursed within a week. I have not had any issues with getting my payout. I have never tried the "pay my vet" option, but I'm guessing it's just as simple. It's definitely been worth it when surprise health issues crop up with my dog.

Enrolling my two pets with ASPCA was super easy. They're both small dogs and about two years of age. They're healthy right now, but as they get older, health problems come with it. My coverage is 80%, so can you imagine how much you save on that and if you have to take down for some type of emergency like that? ASPCA has great coverage.

The enrollment with ASPCA was fine. I just was ready to change the policy, and I couldn't do it online for some reason. It doesn't give you that option. Other than that, I just learned something that I didn't know before, which was added to the policy, and that was really good to hear. So far, so good.

Signup with ASPCA seemed simple, and I just had to use it this year for a cat that has been diagnosed with joint pain. The cat is limping, and the vet told me there was an injection that could be used to help with the pain. It requires three shots, and the cat just had the third one. The first two were reimbursed. It looks like 90%. Overall, it's very valuable to have pet insurance. People need to be able to afford to take care of their pet, and it's horrible when they can't.

I've never had any problems with any of my claims. I submit the bill after it's paid online and their reimbursement is very prompt. I get reimbursed within three days. I'd tell others to get it.

ASPCA's website was very easy to navigate through and user-friendly. I got their basic coverage and I added on preventative coverage for my dog, but it's still wrapped into one policy. There have been a couple of times where my puppy gets into something she's not supposed to or something pops up that I didn't really expected and for that reason, it's been really helpful to have the policy. I can go to the vet and be assured that I'm not gonna be spending hundreds of dollars and that I'm gonna get some of that money back.
It's an affordable option for pet insurance. They have a few different options that you can choose from depending on your own personal budget. Then, when you submit a claim, they move really quickly and get back to you. If they don't get back to you in a timely manner, they let you know that they're reviewing. I've never felt the need to reach out and ask what's going on. They're really good at communicating with you if they are held up in some way and it's easy to use the app. It's really easy to go on there if I ever need to update information on a claim or update information about my dog.

Having pet insurance is very important in America, and ASPCA is efficient. I get a claim, put it in and they return money. They're good. There are cheaper or better services on the market that don't incrementally go up at the same level as ASPCA does, but they're fine.

I gave insured 2 dogs and a new cat with ASPCA pet insurance. They are very easy to work with and process claims speedily. One of my dogs was older and with many medical issues. Milo’s claims were paid at a very high percentage which made things easier. They even paid for his euthanasia when that was necessary.

I started using ASPCA a couple of months ago. I haven't had any trouble submitting claims in the online portal and I also haven't had anything denied, which is good. My dog has cancer, so that sucks. But the insurance has been great since my dog got sick and I've had to submit claims. Her medical expenses have qualified for coverage under the plan.
Before this last year, I always thought I would cancel ASPCA because it wasn’t clear when I signed up exactly what would be covered and what wouldn't be. I didn't realize that routine care and vaccinations were not covered. I paid $1,000 a year for years and never used it because nothing was ever covered. So, I wasn't that satisfied before. But now that I've had to use it and things have gotten covered, and it's been very easy, I'm happy with it. I've had good experience with ASPCA so far and I would recommend it to friends with the caveat that they should read the fine print and understand a lot of things aren't covered.

ASPCA has been great. The plan we chose is exactly what we expected. Ever since we signed up for pet insurance, submitting claims and everything has been super easy and we never had a problem with them. I signed up for them initially at full price and then I switched employers and my current employer offered some kind of group discount on them. So, it worked out even better. Upon enrollment, we had to submit medical forms, understandably, to prove our pet's age and her current health status.
We filed quite a few claims. I found it to be super easy. Their online website is really intuitive and user-friendly and I've never had a problem submitting everything. Having the pet insurance made a world of difference. The most recent time we took her in, she ate half a dog toy and we didn't know how much of a problem it was. We don't do preventative care, we just take her to the vet visit and it always ends up being the emergency vet because she always does these stuff at 10:00 PM conveniently. But it's never been a problem and ASPCA is super valuable to us.

I had my Rottweiler insured. The vet bills can be extremely expensive. I looked into it and ASPCA was affordable and it helped. The claims process is simple now that I do it online. I used to send in the paper claims and just wait. A lot of times, the representatives said they didn't receive it. So, they suggested I should file online. However, there was a little glitch in the beginning and I said next time I have that problem, I was gonna call. But suddenly, it was gone and it was easier. Also, if I have a question, usually, I call and someone picks up and they give me the information. They're very friendly. You can also find everything online.

Policy language is simple to understand. Filing a claim is a pretty simple process. Claims are completed pretty timely. Questions I had with reimbursements were answered fully. Representatives have been very helpful, communicate well, and are very courteous. Very grateful to be able to have insurance for my pet because it helps relieve some of the financial pressure that comes with providing major and long term care for my pet.

Overall, I am satisfied with the coverage for my two dogs thus far. However, the annual premium seems to increase more than one would hope. After having this policy for 5 or 6 years I finally had to submit a claim for an operation my dog needed. They paid my claim promptly and to my satisfaction. The premiums I've paid far exceed the amount of my claim but that is how insurance works and I am pleased that they were there for reimbursement.

When we adopted our beautiful little cockapoo after fostering her and insured her, we had no idea that in just a few short years she would contract an autoimmune disorder that changed so much in her life and ours. ASPCA has been there every step of the way to help us through all our questions and concerns of what will be covered under our plan. They have THE BEST customer service!! Their Underwriters have all been so pleasant when we have needed clarifications and even helped us with an appeal on an invoice that we didn't know we could attach to our dog's condition. And then without needing to follow up our appeal was approved and the additional reimbursement was deposited into our account.
They are really good about communicating when claims take longer than 28-30 days to process, which is really appreciated! We have had some larger claims that we did have to follow up on and with one phone call they got them pushed through for us! Again, their customer service is outstanding and that really does make a difference. We would and have recommended them to our friends and will continue to do so!

I bought this policy for my Biewer Terrier when he was 3 mos old. He’s now 3 years old and the policy benefits and service have been great. Have never had issues being denied coverage. I have found that they are very fair with reimbursement. The way coverage increases if you put your pet on from a young age is appropriate value. Claim reimbursement should be faster but I accept that because of the reliability and consistency of the above factors.

Purchased this insurance for my cat to ensure I would always be able to properly provide for him. It has been one of my best decisions, since he has had ongoing URI issues. ASPCA has been wonderful. I selected the hundred dollar deductible with 90/10 up to 5k. I have never come anywhere near that limit, and never hope to. I would be more than happy to pay my premiums and have no claims, just having the insurance is peace of mind. The staff is personable, professional, and a joy to deal with, most of them have fur babies too.

The ASPCA system is flawed in following way. If you choose annual payments and have multiple pets insured .. ALL accounts update to ANNUAL payments. In other words, you cannot select SOME pets for monthly and others annual payments. It is a global change that can be changed only by calling in. Come on IT folks!! Anyway, I fixed it with a call to customer service. Thanks!!

The process with ASPCA when using the pet insurance is sometimes good but when it’s not in your favor, it’s not the best. I put in a claim one time for one of my horses when he had an eye injury and the way that the vet wrote it was conjunctivitis but it was sand in the eye that caused it. So, there's always a little dispute here and there about whether it's an injury or an illness. I just switched my last animal over to ASPCA because the rates are better and they were easier to work with than Trupanion.

Enrolling with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance was straightforward, general information of my information, animal information, what type, age, any background or history. And after a month or two, the insurance would kick in. The only thing I don't like is the reimbursement process. Whenever I get a bill, I immediately upload the information. When I first started, it said it was two weeks on average for it to get reimbursed. The first time was fine. But after that, it prolonged up to a month on a lot of my reimbursements. So, I usually had to call ASPCA, bring it up to their attention, and they would go ahead and try to take notice. The longest I've waited was a bit more than a month. But the insurance is very valuable.

That day on the online sign-up, there was a problem with the checkout section so I gave ASPCA a call. They said that there were several people having problems with the checkout that day but were able to help me 100% complete everything. Everything went very smoothly. They were very quick to help me and understand what I was trying to do. Filing a claim was also extremely easy. I went to the app on my phone and sent the information over. Three days later, I already was reimbursed. I was shocked at how quickly the claims were paid out. I had had insurance with another company and it took months to get reimbursed. I'm extremely happy with ASPCA. Their communication, the way that they do their claims, the website, everything about them is 100% better.

The service is good. But there have been long delays recently and the team has been working on that. It took 35 days at some point to have some claims acknowledged. But overall, I'm satisfied. Some of the needs for my pet have been covered and others have not been covered.

Their premiums were a lot cheaper than they are now. They've gone up considerably, and I thought about dropping it, but at this point, I'm gonna stick with it. With the cost today of vets, it's very valuable. The ease of filing a claim is very straightforward. You just take a picture of the invoice, and upload it. The claim is easy to fill out and then the reimbursement is usually within less than a week.

I have had your insurance for years. But, something is broken. For years, I could upload the pdf straight onto my claim. After many hours and a few calls to/from your nice customer service staff, and your IT I was still jammed. Yesterday, at my veterinarian clinic, I asked if anyone else had said anything about ASPCA insurance being gummed up. The receptionist said MANY clients have said it's gummed up and the only way to upload is to take a photo. jpg load fine! Please change your instructions so we don't have to waste so much time doing something that should be simple.

I have been so disappointed in this insurance and canceled today after 13 years of disappointment. I wish I had done so earlier. I got sucked in by the fact that it has the ASPCA seal of approval but it’s just your typical insurance trying not to reimburse you for anything. And when they do reimburse it’s always at least 30% less than the charge because they say their reimbursement amount is the market rate, which has never been the case. I have been paying for it for 13 years and have gotten very little back even though I have only made a handful of claims. They characterize what is in the medical records incorrectly and in a way that ensures they won’t have to reimburse - like as something congenital when it was actually just an infection that resolved after treatment. And it’s not cheap! Really, really regret that I ever got this insurance. I would have spent less money if I had just paid out of pocket. I’d stay away!

Enrolling was very simple. APSCA covers a decent amount of services. They have reasonable rates. But some of their contact information isn't really easy to find. Other than that, my best friend's daughter got a new puppy and I told them to get him enrolled in insurance right away.

The enrollment process was really easy. I did it online from a PetDesk. They let me customize some things in my policy. It covered the general visit, and then my cat got bloodwork during it and it covered a portion of that and also a portion of the nail clipping. The visit was $150 and I got a $50 check back.

My overall experience over the past two year has been excellent. Unfortunately, my rescue dog, Johnny, suffered with Lyme Disease and then Heartworm. His treatment protocol for each was long and intensive, requiring numerous medications and veterinary visits. Without fail ASPCA, timely and properly processed all claims and covered claims totaling almost $10,000.

The claim process has taken a little longer than expected at times but everyone I have ever spoken to has always been so helpful and friendly. I'm waiting to see if ASPCA is gonna honor insurance claims, but it's been four weeks now, so I'm not happy. They appeared to be the easiest amongst the lot of them, but I'm not so sure I made a good move. They're very slow in paying up. I'll give them another few days, and if they don't come good, I'll cancel it.

I got a puppy and it's a French Bulldog and I wanted to make sure that she was covered. I got the basic stuff from ASPCA and I added coverage that can help with some of the routine maintenance costs like the shots. The enrollment was excellent. The review of a claim went fabulously. The whole process went smooth and swiftly, until a check was cut instead of direct deposit. I am set up for direct deposit. The policy is to cut a check when an initial claim was overturned. This slowed everything way down making it a two to four week process. Since Covid-19 my mail gets misdelivered. Not good. Cutting a check makes no sense. Plus the timing to pay off the credit card charges comes into play.

Having pet health insurance is very valuable. Depending on the dog's breed, you can put into consideration that other dogs are more high-maintenance than others, and once you consider those things, then you should get pet insurance accordingly. For our case, we acquired a bulldog, and those breeds are very high-maintenance. We said, "Hey, we're gonna need pet insurance, for sure." Enrolling with ASPCA was quite smooth. It was all online, and that was even more of a convenience. It was very straightforward, and it's been great thus far.

They let me know when it was taking them a little longer to process the claim. ASPCA's coverage is okay. I was reimbursed over half the money I spent. But the issue with all insurance is you gotta have the money upfront. If you don't, your animal can be out of the game. Other than that, each time I spoke with them, my questions were answered.

I went online to their website, registered, put in my pets' information, their age, their breed, and gave me some medical questions, and gave me a quote. It was easy. It was also quick compared to a lot of other places that you get reimbursed or submit claims for. We had shots and wellness checkups. For the wellness, it's not great. It's a little bit. But like regular people insurance, once you hit your deductible, it's easy.

This is my third year with the insurance and I am happy to have it. In case of an emergency or illness ASPCA has always attended my claims in a timely manner. The ASPCA insurance has saved me. My lab was diagnosed with Addison's disease. She has to go to vet monthly. If not for this insurance we could not have afforded her treatments. Now we have another puppy and the first thing I did was get her insured also. I receive reimbursement quickly and only have to send in invoice. Could not be any easier to use. It's taking a really long time to get claims done. This month, I had $1,500 in claims. I needed that cash and it took about 33 days. When I first got this insurance, the claims process would take a week. But they overall have been really good.

ASPCA is good. I adopted a newer dog earlier this year, and I didn't realize that I hadn't added the preventative coverage. I don't remember seeing it to click on it. All my other dogs have had it, so I thought it was just gonna flow together, but it didn't. So, I have to wait until the renewal next year to add that. Having the insurance is one of the best things that we've done for them. My dogs have had several surgeries, different conditions, and we are constantly at the doctor's office with them. So, it has greatly helped. The only real issue I have is the processing time for claims that it can extend to a month or more. I do recommend them. My sister has a policy for her dog because I recommended.

ASPCA has done a lot for us. My dog has had 2 surgeries and very little has come out of our money. I would strongly recommend to get the insurance from aspca. Thank you aspca. ASPCA has been such a great investment. They genuinely care about your pets and are very responsive if you need someone live to talk to via phone or email. You also get some coverage for ASPCA poison control. Sometimes it takes awhile to get reimbursed (about a month in some cases). Other than that we love ASCPA for our corgi Kaia.

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance is the only insurance that is worth it. I just submitted my claims online. But the claims process was extremely slow. It took between 30 and 40 days. If the claim service was a bit faster, I'd be happier. Our coverage is $3 a month. It's 90% coverage after the year deductible is met. And the deductible is low. So, it’s nice.

I wanna thank the staff that have helped out. I have a very sick dog, and I've filed a lot of claims because she has had so many challenges. She's got about four diseases that she's been fighting, and it's been about two years now. She's still with us, but a lot of things I couldn't do if I didn't have the insurance. Recently, I filed four claims in two weeks. They were gummed up a little, so I called on Friday last week and talked to someone. She said, “I'll look into this and I'll put a tag on it.” That makes me feel good. I'm not being blown off and I'm treated with compassion. They were on it, and I got reimbursed today.
ASPCA has been great. They've been easy to work with, and they even ask about my dog when I call if I have a question. I usually process my claims online with the app, and I've had, for the most part, good success with that. I have full coverage so I'm very happy with it. I pay quite a bit now because my dog's elderly. It's not the cheapest thing on earth, but it has helped me financially and I get 80% reimbursement.

It was extremely easy to sign up all my dogs (3 of them) for ASPCA's insurance. They had a lot of great options for coverage. We have been with ASPCA Insurance since 2018 for our Schnauzer and 2023 for our Terrier and could not be happier. Our Schnauzer saw emergency vet last year and we got money back within 2 days. There are a lot of pet insurance companies out there (we know, we used them) that seem to always find a way to not cover a claim despite what is stated to be covered. ASPCA has covered every claim we have made exactly as they stated they would. We have never had a hassle or a problem getting one of our claims settled properly. My dog had surgery on his mouth and eye. It cost me $2200. I spoke to a representative at ASPCA before the surgery and they led me to believe it would be covered. Then after surgery they rejected the claim as preexisting condition. The surgeon even wrote a letter saying it was not a preexisting condition. I appealed and they rejected. They had no trouble taking my premiums since 2018 but were very quick to tell me they would not pay. They kept asking for more information which I provided. They stalled that way from 4/4/23 to 7/6/23 only to reject the appeal. Do not trust the ASPCA insurance company. Debra was representative who told me to go ahead with surgery and James F. rejected my claim.

I have had this insurance for about two years. It is easy to use and submit claims. Only disappointment is that the vets charge so much more than what is covered that you only get a small percent back. I’m grateful for insurance and having the coverage. It would be better if return rates were faster and there was more integration with the clinics. It would help if there was a clinic portal to import history to help improve timelines. I work on both sides as a customer and veterinary professional. I have paid for this insurance for my cat and dog for the past 10 years. My cat recently needed care for the first time with a $5431 bill. This insurance only covered a fraction of the cost because they only pay "reasonable and customary fees". They won't pay the full cost of charges by the vet. My dog just past 11 years only and they doubled my monthly premiums due to this age. We have never used this insurance for him. They are not telling you the entire truth.

ASPCA is well worth the investment, especially if you couple it with reasonably priced vet services. While their prices have gone up, it’s peace of mind in coverage for your pets that count. It makes the cost worthwhile if, in the event, you have to make serious life or death decisions for your animal. Insurance provides you with the ability to make decisions you might not otherwise be able to make. In other words, knowing your insurance will pick up the cost allows you to go forward with services you might not otherwise get.

I will be cancelling my policy with this dishonest company. I have a 5 year old Neapolitan mastiff who has been a very healthy dog his entire life. He has been insured by ASPCA pet insurance since February 2020. I have only ever submitted 3 very small claims back in 2020 which combined, were just over $500. Nothing since. I was not at all happy to have waited for weeks for those claims to be approved and reimbursed. My premiums are paid on time every month but they dragged their heels on a few very small claims. Imagine how long the wait would be if we had a serious issue.
Now comes my big issue with this sleazy company. My premiums have of course gone up each year, which I would expect. This year however, the increase was a whopping 78%! It jumped from $150.96 to $267.43. This is an increase of $116.22! When I asked why, they said it's due to my dog's age. So if just 12 months warrants this ridiculous jump in cost, why are companies that a rated higher than this one giving me considerably lower premiums for the same coverage? True story and pure **. Bye bye ASPCA.

My horse recently acquired a bone chip that unfortunately became devitalized and turned into a sequestrum. Straightforward injury/accident, right? Wrong, apparently. Was told it was received and in queue but no word on status or resolution date. Service representative was friendly. The representative called me back promptly after I waited on line for a period of time and was able to pull up my claim. She asked about my pups and how they were doing and I was happy to speak with her. I am just upset that I did not receive any insight as to when my claim will be processed. That would have been great.

I would highly recommend ASPCA Pet Health Insurance to anyone with a pet. We never expected to have to use it, but one of our cats quickly became sick and would not eat. We had to take him to the emergency vet hospital because it was Christmas Eve. He was in the hospital for 3 days and they helped him to recover fully! We submitted the claim to ASPCA about two weeks week later and about 2 weeks after that they deposited almost the full amount in my checking account (less the deductible and 10% co-insurance). No questions asked! And this was a $2500 bill!! I am thankful that we signed up for pet insurance and I am thankful we chose the right company...ASPCA Pet Health Insurance! THANK YOU!!

I had another pet insurance company before ASPCA and it was awful. After I switched to ASPCA it was like a night and day difference; ASPCA did not deny all my claims, cost was less than the other company and ASPCA has better coverage. It is easy to file claims, and claims are settled quickly. The online filing of claims and direct deposit are also great! I recommend to anyone who asks me about pet insurance - ASPCA!

Overall I am happy with the insurance. The unfortunate part of the ins is it has gotten very expensive! Nella is 6 year old golden and it’s costing us approx $100.00 a month. They have paid some significant amounts since we’ve had her but we don’t know how much longer we’re going to be able to afford this ins for her. They’ve been very good about paying the claims w/ this accidental ins in a pretty timely manner. We’re happy we insured her.

I have had ASPCA since I got my first rescue back in 2018, and they have always been great to me. I do wish they covered his allergies, but since he was older and it was a pre-existing one, I totally get it. Their plan options are genuinely superior to others, from what I've seen! I can honestly say that carrying insurance on my pets has been the greatest decision I've made as a responsible pet owner. I have had pet accident insurance with an additional rider for preventative care for my Corgi since I got her 4 years ago. It's nice to be able to file claims on the preventative care items with that additional coverage, but I've never been more thankful for this insurance until recently. She started needing treatment for skin allergies and then had an ACL tear and needed a very specialized and very expensive orthopedic surgery to repair the joint. I am sure I would have needed to take out a small loan to pay for all the treatment she needed if it weren't for this insurance plan. In addition to helping with vet bills tremendously, I am always impressed at both the ease of filing a claim and the speed in which claims are processed and reimbursement payment is issued. I'd recommend this insurance to anyone who has a pet!

When I first started their service things were very slow to process. But now after 2 years they have really improved! Their records are in place so they aren’t asking me constantly for my pet’s medical records and processing my claims is very fast. I have talked to customer service before and they were very helpful in getting things resolved when a claim didn’t go my way. I have a lot of pets and this year has been tough on their health so I am so happy to have an easy insurance that is keeping my pets healthy and my bank account safe.

Obtained Pet Insurance after My dog, Murphy had hurt his right knee, vet was unsure if it was a torn ACL or not but thought it might be, I realized these accidents could be expensive. He healed from that injury and was walking and playing just fine but a month or so later he was jumping around and hurt his left knee, this time he did in fact tear his ACL. Called ASPCA to make sure we were passed the waiting period and it was something that was covered. I was never told that if he had another injury on another leg it would be considered pre existing. So even though injury was done to his left leg and that’s the leg the surgery was done on, since he had hurt his right leg and had possibly torn that ACL they won’t reimburse us. Even though the second injury on a completely different limb was done after policy was in affect.

I paid ASPCA $1,729.64 over a 2 year period and when I finally submitted a claim for $616, ($500 deductible and 80% of the balance), they would NOT honor the claim. After my deductible, they would have ONLY owed me approximately $92. I Cancelled before they STOLE one more dime from me!

Our Male cat has had complications from FIP. Charlie has had to have a fair amount of Vet care to thrive. ASPCA Insurance is 1000% hassle free, you submit the bill and you're paid in what I believe record time. No question about it. Very simple, very easy at a usually hard time for any pet owner. It's refreshing in this day and age to have no qualms about paying a policy every month and have to wonder about what is going to happen. One of our cats got really sick and after spending 8000.00 trying to save his life he passed away at the animal hospital. It was a expensive and sad situation. We decided to insure our remaining pets. We vetted several insurances and talked to our vets and after a recommendation from our vet we chose ASPCA. For almost a year we just made payments but, then one of our cats suddenly had a small lump on her chest and we had to take her in and after removing the lump she was diagnosed with mammary cancer. She is currently doing chemo to keep it from coming back. We caught it early and because we had insurance we felt like we could get treatment faster. They claims were easy to submit and they have paid every claim according to their guidelines. So glad we made the decision to get pet insurance. This could have been the end of her life and our pets are family.

Never have had an issue. They are fast with processing claims and depositing into my bank act. The people that say they don’t pay probably never did what they asked to get paid!!! They want to see every single vet record of the whole time you have owned your pet before your 1st claim. Hence making sure you are not claiming pre-existing conditions! Not that hard. Never took longer than 2 weeks to get paid the 80% reimbursement for my dogs vet bills so I’m very happy with this pet insurance. One of the reviewers I read below said that they don’t cover conditions from the previous year when you have a renewal but that is not true because my dog needed a tooth extraction and she went to the vet in March when she was first diagnosed with a fractured tooth and then my policy renewed in April and I did not get her tooth extracted until May which was reimbursed more than $800 to me.

IF YOU ARE MILITARY AVOID AT ALL COST! We had our insurance for 2 years with them with never submitting anything. We got stationed overseas and they cancelled our insurance without telling us after we submitted a small claim. They said that a US military veterinarian clinic on a US military base is not considered part of the United States in their book so not only did they decline the claim they automatically cancelled our insurance without telling us and I only found out when I called to find out our claim status.
They said hopefully nothing happens to your dog during that time and to give them a call when we are back in the states again to apply for insurance again. Absolutely blew my mind on the logic behind everything and the fact they cared so little about my dog even though my address in their system was house on a military base overseas, they loved taking my $50+ payment every month for over a year until I submitted that claim. I'd rather pay twice the premium at another place than go through them again because of how little they actually care about animals.

My pup had "bone growth plate" damage. We noticed it when she started limping and thought it was an injury. When she kept limping, X-rays showed that one bone stopped growing and the other one was curving to compensate. Surgery with PT was what my vet recommended. When I contacted ASPCA pet insurance about making claims, everyone I talked to was so sweet and caring. The claims were super easy (max 5 minutes of my time) and money was directly deposited into my bank. I've had no issues, no problems and after the $500 deductible everything was 80% covered. Couldn't be happier.

Stalled claims over a nail trims! And ear cleanings. Every single claim came back NEED MORE INFORMATION...SEND RECORDS. I sent records everything. I had to call and follow up on every claim. They do not pay big claims. They will harass your vet for info piece a time instead of asking for everything at once. Also my horse got ulcers from her medication that should have been covered because it's a result of her accident. Their service writers said medicine won't give you ulcers. Refused a 4000.00 claim. Stay away.

Updated on 05/14/2022: Won't pay out high bills. Had to contact the attorney general office. They harrased my vet so bad for weeks wanting everything down to handwritten notes on notepad. After they realized they have all info and a letter stating that her ulcers were a result from horse's accident should have been covered as stated in the contract.. Last contact I received from them was 4 weeks ago when they wanted vet records from 20 years ago when she was 1 yr old.
Original Review: Used them for small things. No problem getting reimbursed but now my older horse had bills up to 5000.00 and no matter what paperwork my vet sends them it's never good enough and then I was told if they request paperwork for 3rd time they cancel your claim. Now I know why they will not except any info. my vet sends them for this claim.

Every claim that I’ve made is followed up in a few weeks with an email about how they’re sorry for the delay in processing claims. This has happened for over a year, yet they haven’t hired more people to help offset this issue. In fact, ever since I’ve started with my very first claim after years of making my premium payments, I’ve received these emails. Worse, once they eventually do process your claim which in some instances took well over a month, you can expect your new policy premium to drastically increase. I understand that the older the dog gets, this is normal but for years it was a modest increase of 2-3% but once you make that very first claim, you should expect to see your premiums increase at 10-20%. My dog is too old to switch now but please don’t give your money to this company and go with Nationwide’s pet insurance. I had them for my other dog and they were fantastic.

We started our insurance with ASPCA on our pure bred Rottweiler in July of 2020. Before purchasing the plan we spent countless hours researching all the insurance plans out there using forums, Reddit, review sites etc and needless to say it was painful. One website would promote a particular insurance and claim it was the best and then you'd come across a reddit post where people trashed it with their real life story claims. It was extremely irritating. After weeks of research we finally settled on one insurance that seemed to have the most balance feedback out of all of them, Embrace. We went to their website, read the fine print, which by the way is something EVERYONE should do before purchasing insurance and put in our dogs info.
Everything seemed great until the site asked us for our zip code. As it turns out, Embrace does not have good financial backing in the state of Texas and therefore provides extremely pitiful coverage for the entire state. For our dog the site showed only ONE allowable plan which provided a high deductible and 80% coverage, we wanted at least 90%. Damn it! So, we kept researching.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity we stumbled across ASPCA and thank goodness we did. Since registering our dog and getting a fantastic plan; $100 deductible - 90% coverage - unlimited yearly coverage (technically caps off at 1 million per the fine print) we've used the insurance a few times. The first time was during the height of the covid pandemic and so the waiting time for reimbursement took almost 3 months which was frustrating but understandable, but the rest of the claims we filed were completed within 2 weeks. About a month ago we added two kittens to the plan and had to use the insurance soon after the waiting period ended because of some eye discharge. The claims were completed within a week and a half. Needless to say, we are both very satisfied with ASPCA and I can't recommend them enough.
The last two things I want to say before I end this review is this: 1) READ the fine print. Every insurance company has fine print and although some may be intimidating to read, ASPCA's fine print is easy to read, understandable and their exclusions make sense. One inconsistency I noticed on this ConsumerAffairs site regarding the fine print is the claim that the insurance doesn't cover Ligament and knee conditions; that is actually false. Per the fine print ASPCA DOES cover ligament and knee conditions as long as they dont occur before or during the waiting period. Once the insurance completely kicks in, it IS covered. I've verified this myself.
2) Before you pick an insurance company for your pets do some research into the financial backing of the company and who their underwriter is, that makes a HUGE difference into whether or not the company will provide the service they claim. ASPCA uses the "United States Fire Insurance Company" which is owned by "Crum & Forster Holdings Corp". If you do some research you'll find that "Crum & Forster Holdings" has an A rating for financial strength and is listed as "stable" for financial outlook. Needless to say, ASPCA can provide the financial backing they need to provide such awesome coverage. Need I say more?

These guys do not pay claims based upon what the owner ACTUALLY pays the vets. They have stipulated "customary and standard" rates. Maybe there is some corner of Manhattan where their rates track what an owner would actually pay. I haven't found it. My cat had asthma for a number of years. They thrashed around and ultimately paid for diagnosis and treatment. However, this year, with two hospital stays of $4K, IMHA, and $6K, renal lymphoma, respectively, they are trying their hardest to link these two separate conditions to avoid paying out on the second which ultimately caused his my cat's death. How many times do I have to submit the same documents in answer to their requests for information?

This is the fourth claim that I have submitted to ASPCA. Each time the process has been easy and a reasonable amount of my costs have been covered. They even cover end of life services. I had one cat pass away last year (age 17 to cancer), and I received a call from someone at ASPCA Pet Health Insurance offering heartfelt condolences. Just a month ago I lost another cat (age 16 to kidney disease), and I received another heartfelt condolence call. Also, I no longer had to pay for the insurance which was not the case with another company. Needless to say, I highly recommend ASPCA Pet Health insurance!!

The absolute worst insurance experience of anything I’ve ever had insurance on! Car, home, life, phone, flood!! After 3 months They keep sending me emails every two weeks about needling more info from my vet. My vet sent them 11 pages of records 4 times. I spoke to a rep EVERY WEEK since the surgery (July 27 2020). They say they don’t have them, then another rep says they do then again they're waiting. I’ve called and shown up at my vet's office 3 times to make sure they did their part and sure enough they did. I again call ASPCA pet insurance and wait the 40-over an hour wait times to be told the same things.
When they “verify” they have the records then tell me they will put this though for payment into my direct deposit, I get nothing but another email saying they’re waiting for medical records. I call again and the rep says the same repertoire then tells me they need records going back even further than a year since my dog has only been going to this vet less than a year. Not once had this come up in the previous emails. They always say they’re email the vet that did the surgery. I went and got, photographed and sent records all the way back to 2018!!
So I cancelled my coverage and every day for the last 5 days I get a voicemail and an email asking to keep coverage and remit payment. They’re adept at begging for money FROM me every day just not lifting a finger to PAY me. Also now when I go to the “My Pet Insurance” app the date of the claim says Jan. 1, 2001!!!! What a joke of a company! A $1042 surgery claim I’ll NEVER get back! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

My dog Toto was insured by ASPCA Pet Insurance (underwritten by The Crum & Forster group) for over 10 years. Paid around 10000 in insurance premiums over 10 year period. When my dog needed an ACL surgery, the company has denied my claim, stating that incident has occurred in the prior policy year. Company is saying that when policy is renewed each year, treatment for the incidents that happened in the prior year would not be covered. I think this is an unfair practice and want all current and potential customers to be aware of that. The cost of surgery was over $2500 and I got paid 0 by the insurance.

When I picked ASPCA I had called around to many other pet insurance companies and, at the time, ASPCA offered the most coverage at the lowest price of $88/mo. My policy is about to be renewed so they sent me the changes to the prices in one year... $142/mo. That is a 61% increase in just one year. When I called a customer service representative asking them for support for how they determined the price increase she said she'd get back to me in a few days and I still haven't heard back a month later.
I e-mailed their customer service e-mail and received a different explanation as to why the rates were increasing so much. Not that this impacts the pricing, but I have not filed one claim with them thus far. I'd beware of this company. A 61% increase in one year is uncalled for and if it is "warranted" the company should do a much better job of explaining it to avoid losing customers. I'll be searching elsewhere.

The claims have taken much longer to process since last year. I had always been impressed with the timeliness in receiving my reimbursements. These new issues were existing prior to the Covid 19. Basically since my renewal last year there seems be delays. I have always recommended your company to others in the past. Do not know what has happened but these are our feelings today. I am so grateful for the marketing email from ASPCA PET INSURANCE. Never had considered pet insurance before. Our 1 1/2 year Shih Tzu is a rascal who is is maturing into a fine adult. Her puppy hood was full of Dr visits which were covered by 80% reimbursement. I'll give her another year and reassess the need for insurance but a modest premium is certainly a great value for the mitigating the risk of another office visit.
