    I've had a good experience with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance. As a monthly contributor to ASPCA rescues, I discovered they offered regular pet insurance. I liked what it offered, so I decided to get it. The price is comparable or even a little less expensive than that of other companies. There are options tailored to whatever I want to do for my animals. Some don't offer that.

    I’ve had it for some years now, but I cancelled it after the two pets I had on it had passed away. I recently got new insurance again when we got two more cats and they got older. I just logged back into my old account and restarted my cats on it. It's pretty easy. I had to give my information and they helped me determine what kind of coverage I wanted.

    For the most part, everybody I've spoken to has been fine. When I've had to put in claims for services, they pay them right away, so it’s all good. For the claim form, I go online and fill it out. I had to scan the receipts in and submit them. After that, it usually worked within 24 hours. Sometimes I've called. They would take the information and I would provide the documentation, or they’d verify it with the vet, and it would go from there.

    It has been four years since I last used the website. There are two different portals online – the account portal and another for the regular consumer. When you go on the regular one, you can get a quote by selecting your animal and putting in the information they ask for.

    It's been over 10 years since I've been with ASPCA. It’s easy to file a claim, especially now that I do it on the app which I’ve been using for two years now. Before I used the app, I would just submit online, and they’ve only called me a couple of times when they've had questions about something. When there’s a claim, I pay the bills and then they reimburse, and it's fairly quick.

    When I was getting a new puppy, I was looking through different websites. When I had my first Schnauzer, I used a different company. Then I looked at ​​ASPCA and thought they are the way to go. My son-in-law agreed with me. Their customer service is wonderful. I've not had one bit of trouble at all.

    It was easy to file a claim. My dog ate a couple of things she shouldn't eat, got really sick, and I've had to carry her into the emergency. We have a vet office that does emergency visits from 5:00 to 10:00. I went there, and they took care of her.

    Recently, she slid on the floor in my friend's house and blew her right knee out. So, $3,550 later she's walking just fine. The doctor made good notes, and I made good notes. ASPCA paid it because it was a patella that just went over the heel. It just would not go back.

    I only had one call that I felt like I just disconnected and called back because the young man was a foreigner and he did not pronounce correctly and wasn't listening to what I said. I talked to a sales agent because I've got the accident coverage and I've got health and wellness coverage. I wanted to make sure I had both of those two plans in place. They kept telling me no and trying to sell me another one. I called back and got somebody else and the lady was very nice. She fixed it and she said she'd send a note to his supervisor.

    I have their app and I also go to the website to see what's going on, and I also get a lot of good tips from there. I’d tell anyone to go with ASPCA. They’re a good one. I have been extremely happy with them.

    I researched a lot of pet insurance 10 years ago. ASPCA has the same rates and was for a good cause, so I did that. One has to have it, a hundred percent. Having a pet should mean being able to afford food and insurance. Service has gotten better through the years. At first, it took a long time to get payments, and reimbursements would take six to eight weeks. Now, it’s two to four, which is fine.

    I’ve been with ASPCA for about six years when they were the most affordable pet insurance. I have a French bulldog who has allergies, and I’ve utilized the insurance consistently for general health services and emergencies. It’s helped relieve some of the financial burden. During COVID, their processing times were unreasonable and took two to three months. But it’s gotten better with their turnaround time on paying for medical care. When I call in, they’re very helpful and they cover pretty well.

    My issue is not necessarily the service, but it’s the way that they ridiculously raise the rates every year. I wouldn’t be able to afford it if I didn’t change my coverage. I’ve had to drop it from 10,000 to 5,000 or 7,000. My deductible was originally $200 and now it’s $500. I’m stuck with them and can’t change to another company because, since my dog has allergies, everything will be considered preexisting and won’t be covered.

    We have had our 5 pets insured for several years. Our insurance goes up $100's per month yearly. Then on preventative care I made a call and asked what 4 different vets charge for specific preventative prices. ASPCA cover only $20 that all vets are charging $20's more and ASPCA will not reimburse you. I had my pets preventative yearly shots, exam etc.. ASPCA only covered $60 of around $300 invoice cause they do not cover enough dollars for my area I live in. Complete garbage!! I pay $1000'S a years for my pets premiums then get not even 3/4 of my preventative items covered.

    I’d been researching pet insurance because my puppy was previously with Hannah’s Pet Society. I have two dogs, and I wasn’t happy with the service or care my older dog was receiving, and I didn’t want my puppy to be stuck in the same situation. While doing my research, I came across ASPCA and decided to look into it further.

    My enrollment experience was good, easy and straightforward. I did most of the initial research myself, reviewing the coverage options I wanted, and then a representative helped finalize everything. She was very helpful and knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and made sure everything was properly completed and processed.

    Having this pet insurance is 1000% very valuable. Recently, my puppy fell down the stairs onto concrete and hit his head. We were terrified and thought we had lost him, so we rushed him to the hospital right away. Thankfully, he’s very resilient. He did suffer a fractured skull, but he didn’t have to stay long. We arrived around 11:00 in the morning and were able to bring him home close to midnight that same day.

    I truly can’t say enough about how amazing the coverage is, especially when it comes to submitting claims. If I have one regret, it’s that I wish I had chosen a higher annual coverage limit. What’s been incredibly helpful is being able to use my CareCredit card to cover the upfront costs. I submit the claim, it gets processed, and I typically receive reimbursement within a few weeks. If I ever need it expedited, that’s been handled as well. With everything that’s happened, the support and reliability have meant so much. The whole process has been smooth and reassuring during some very stressful moments.

    What I’ve noticed is that whenever I have general questions about my plan, the representatives I speak with are extremely helpful and understanding. However, when it comes to processing claims, my experience hasn’t always been the same. In one particular situation, I called to request an expedited claim because there was a possibility my dog would need an MRI. The representative I spoke with in claims was rude and didn’t seem to understand my concern or my request for an expedite. That interaction was frustrating, especially given the urgency of the situation.

    I’m very understanding and patient when it comes to customer service, and I always try to be gracious when speaking with representatives. But there comes a point where it’s frustrating to have to repeat yourself multiple times without feeling heard.

    I paid 90 bucks for my other dog, and he's at Hannah's Pet. Hannah's pet is like Kaiser. Everything has to be in-house. They cover everything, you don't have to pay for anything, but it's more quantity over quality. The quality of care is not the greatest. When it comes to you guys, the reason I can take him anywhere, and the quality of care is amazing.

    I was just telling my partner the other day, whether it was at the hospital or even at his regular vet appointment, we would never have been treated the way we were at the other place. Everyone here is so kind, and they make sure you’re involved in every step of the process. You really do get what you pay for. The quality of care is absolutely there for him, especially because I get to choose where he’s treated. Unfortunately, I don’t have that same flexibility with my other dog.

    I do wish that they didn't exempt dogs that have previous conditions or existing conditions because I wish my other dog could be under them. He has reactive liver disease and some type of GI disease, I wish that ASPCA would really make some type of plan for existing conditions for animals.

    This is a racket, don't do it! Put aside the amount of money you would spend on this pet insurance into a different account. I have paid close to 30K to ASPCA Pet Health Insurance over 14 years and have only been reimbursed $3809. Kept telling myself it was "peace of mind". You are way better off setting up a bank account. You could rescue and help hundreds of animals with the money you would save!

    ASPCA is a well-known organization and their pricing seemed good at the time. I signed up with them online and I've already filed a claim. I went through the app, which was easy to use, and they were able to reimburse me afterwards.

    They should increase the coverage from $5,000 maximum to a much higher number because pet care has gone up and they haven't changed their rates. The price is fine when they're puppies. But as they get older, it increases regularly and I often have to decrease the level of care that the animal is able to get because the rates are high.

    I’ve had my Yorkshire Terrier covered by ASPCA for five years. Setting it up was pretty normal and business-like. I picked the policy according to how much I wanna cover and sent the payment. I have the payments on autopay or direct deposit. Their website was a little glitchy for me at the beginning. But it's good now. The online claims process is fairly straightforward, and everything gets taken care of. It’s neither terrific nor terrible, but functional. Overall, it's been a good experience.

    I just re-enrolled with ASPCA for my two puppies. It was relatively simple, right online and straightforward. They ask about reimbursement rates, like 70%, 80%, or 90%, and obviously, the higher the reimbursement rate, the higher the monthly cost.

    Pet insurance was offered at a discount through my university, and it’s incredibly valuable when it comes to your pets. One of my older dogs recently died, and that last week or so required about 50 vet visits. I was able to get a good chunk of that reimbursed. I don’t like that my dogs get sick, but when they do, it’s helpful to know that I’ve been paying for insurance that can potentially cover some of the major expenses. I already recommended it.

    I’ve made a couple of claims, and every claim has been very easy. I provided them with vet records, and within a week, they sent a reimbursement. They were quite expeditious in processing claims. I’ve had two other pet insurances prior to this one, and they were more complicated and took a lot more of my time to get the claim.

    I also had an issue where one of my claims continued to get rejected. It was for a major surgery for my horse. I worked with a representative a couple times. They were always very patient and told me exactly what they needed. I called my vet with the exact wording they gave me to get what I needed. One vet wasn’t working with me, but they finally said okay after I sent pictures. They went ahead and approved it.

    I like that I have the ability to choose if I’d rather pay more out of pocket up front and have a lower deductible, or pay less and have a larger deductible. ASPCA can really cater to my financial needs and what I can afford.

    I have spoken with agents on four different occasions. If a claim was rejected, I’d call and say I had a legitimate claim and ask what they needed. They’d tell me what they needed and look through their records to see what they had. They were willing to go step-by-step about what was missing and needed. They were very helpful.

    With a lot of insurance companies, I got the sense that they were trying every possible way to deny claims. But with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, they were always there to help me. They understood it was stressful already when I was going through something with my pets.

    When they rejected my claim, I was a little upset, but the agent was patient. I realized it was a matter of getting them what they needed. They had the requirements that they had to fulfill to process a claim. If I didn’t send it to them, they wouldn't be able to do it, so it was a little back and forth.

    They walked me through every step of the way. It’s been wonderful, and I’d refer everybody to ASPCA Pet Health Insurance.

    I’ve had my cat for a few years. When I started looking into pet insurance, she was still fairly young. I had a friend who had expensive vet bills, and another who works for a pet insurance company. I just started thinking about it. When I looked it up, ASPCA came up on a Google search, and the enrollment process was really easy.

    For my cat’s vet visits, if it’s preventative, I don’t bother since it’s not covered. But if there was something out of the ordinary, she was sick or had symptoms, then there’s a reason we’re taking her to the vet beyond just a checkup or vaccines. Then I just ask the vet to make sure to send a copy of the itemized invoice and vet notes.

    I just pay the vet upfront and then submit my claim, upload the invoice, and wait. Then, when it’s covered, they send a check. That’s how it goes every time. It’s been pretty straightforward.

    I’ve been with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for six years, it has been pretty valuable so far. The rate was pretty good, especially because my cat was young. I haven’t done the math to see if it’s paid for itself, but I have peace of mind, just worrying if anything big would happen in the future. She had health problems when she started to get older.     I have a three-year old lab spaniel mix. I got her when she was just a puppy at 12 weeks old, and knowing that I wanted pet insurance, I did a Google search and ASPCA came up. After looking at them and a few other companies, I decided to go with the ASPCA and have been a policyholder for around three years now. They had great preventative coverage for dogs, as well as the reimbursement. I had a few friends that used ASPCA before and, just like any vet bill that is covered after I meet my deductible, the reimbursement process is so easy. And it’s just very easy to use and navigate.

    ASPCA saved our life with my dog. She has eaten numerous things when she was a puppy, getting into stuff, and frequent trips to the vet early on. They have a hotline I’ve used when I’m not sure on taking my pet to the vet. You can call that number and they’d give you an idea if the pet should be taken the ER vet or give a suggestion of something you can do instead. They offer a lot of extra things that really help.

    Having pet insurance is so valuable. Everyone should have it from the minute they get an animal, whether it’s a cat or a dog. Just knowing you have the peace of mind if an emergency were to happen or knowing that they’re getting the right shots and preventative treatments they need without having to worry about cost. I feel very safe having that with my animal.

    Granted that I chose one of the more tailored packages with more add-ons, it’s a little more expensive. But I swear to God, it’s worth its weight in gold. What I’ve been paying each month for three years is nothing compared to what saved me in terms of medical expenses for my dog.

    I love ASPCA. If I get any more animals, it’s gonna be with them. And I’m definitely recommending ASPCA to everybody that I know that has an animal.

    If I could give a ZERO, I would. My dog has hip dysplasia and she injured her left knee and they denied the claim saying it was pre-existing. How can a hip and knee be the same thing. IT CAN'T!!! Plus it was an injury. She has never had an issue with her knee. STAY AWAY from them unless you have a brand new pup.

    I like the people I've always dealt with. They have always been there and caring. I was delighted with Stephanie. She helped me out in getting my pets’ insurance straight. That's the kind of help I always found at ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, but in recent years, things have changed. I've always been satisfied, but the younger people today are not trained. They're not as caring. Also, ASPCA always had very good people. Nowadays, the help doesn't always seem as good. I don't always get the people with the interests and they've always had people with very strong interests and very helpful. Also, they were more accessible years ago. It's now more difficult to get someone to talk to. It doesn't happen that often I need to talk to them, thank God.

    Times change. Everything now is so distant. There's not that much interaction with people anymore, and everything is automated no matter where you call. Menus and all this. It’s time-consuming, when they shifted from department to department. Other than that, I'm still with ASPCA. I like it. I hope I would not use the policy, but it's good to have.

    BIG MISTAKE! I purchased accident coverage through ASPCA for my 5 year old black lab. I researched several companies and they claimed to cover more issues than others. My lab tore her TPL and they refused to cover because they stated this is a common thing for labs and they consider it an illness. Nowhere did they state cover TPL for dogs except labs. They knew she was a lab and could have notified me that this may cause an issue and that the illness plan would have been better. My vet even sent a letter stating her TPL tear was accidental and her ligaments were healthy. So now I am stuck paying $5000 for something I expected would be covered.

    Our Siamese cats are covered by ASPCA. Our first cat is 15 years old, and he's been covered for 15 years. We just got a kitten, so I just signed him up 2 weeks ago. There were very basic questions. I did everything online. It was very easy to just add him and sign him up for it. It was very quick, and the website is very user-friendly. The only frustrating part is, depending on the vet that you go to, you have to file the claims yourself, so it's a little bit of a process doing that, but the claims can also be done online, which is easy. But I've been to multiple vets, and there was one vet that could do it for you, which is a lot easier because then they have all the records and they can just put the claim in for you versus different vets who will give you the receipt and then you have to do the work.

    As far as the claims process, you pay up-front, file the claim, and then they reimburse you. It is really helpful to have the insurance because our cat had a surgery a few years ago, and they covered a decent amount, which made it really helpful because it was going to be a big cost and questionable if we would go ahead with surgery. But because of having insurance and a lot of that cost being covered, it made it possible. So, the insurance is necessary to have. It would be nicer if they were covering dental as well because that would make a huge difference.

    I've been rescuing shar-peis since 2003. Where I live, the max you can have is four. I usually have the max and I have an ASPCA insurance policy on each of them. Usually, if you register a new pet, it takes a month for the plan to kick in. Shar-peis are known for having eyelid surgery because their faces are so wrinkly. When I first got one of my shar-peis, I had to pay for the surgery out of pocket because the insurance hadn't kicked in yet. But a few years ago, he had to have a second surgery. They needed to take more skin from his upper eyelids, and the insurance covered it. Shar-peis also get cancer and ASPCA has been very helpful in that regard.

    I also had a Labrador retriever for 13 years, and he was the runt of the litter. He had to have hip surgery on both of his hips. I even had a situation where somebody came in my yard and beat him. He was at the emergency vet for a week. It cost me $8,000 but the insurance was really helpful and very accommodating.

    With ASPCA, I like the easy access online as far as submitting claims. It's very user-friendly. When you go online, you have to upload the receipt from the vet and explain why your dog had to go to the vet. If they have any questions, they will call your vet and talk to somebody that works at the veterinary clinic. They usually reimburse 80% of the bill in a week and they have direct deposit which is convenient. Depending on the plan, they'll cover up to 3,000 or 5,000 a year.

    Also, compared to the other insurances, it has a variety of coverages. You could choose from well care. You could also choose a policy that just covers an accident or emergencies. There are different deductibles as well. I've been with ASPCA for at least 20 years and every time I've had to cancel insurance due to the loss of a pet, they call. They check to see how you're doing and send you a condolence card. Those are the reasons I love ASPCA.

    The last online enrollment experience I had with ASPCA is terrible. It doesn't really explain anything or answer any questions. So, you have to call to get some type of clarity on what you need for your dog. I was trying to get some information on exactly what the policy covers and it doesn't really explain what's going wrong with it or what’s the best coverage for your dogs.

    I haven't really seen the insurance too valuable because the reimbursement is minimum to none, between the cost of the doctor visit. What you do is you go to whatever doctor, you get the bill, you pay the bill right then and there, then you send them an invoice. You wait and see what they will reimburse you for. And then you have to wait until it gets to the price of your deductible. So, say you have a $100 deductible, then you don't get anything until it gets to that $100. If you have a $500 deductible, you don't get anything until your deductible is paid for and then you'll get a balance back. In fact, it doesn't cover some things.

    My dog had very bad allergies. I got an allergy test done. It's almost $300. They covered the shot and disposables, but they didn't cover the test. So, the insurance really doesn't cover a lot of things, but I keep it because you'll never know. The customer service is always great when I call. They're always very polite and helpful. The price is really high for older dogs. I feel like if you've been with them for a while, they should give you some type of discounts or some type of incentive or a free toy for your dog.

They put some kind of code and when I read about the code, it said preexisting condition. But nothing was preexisting condition. I'm not very happy with ASPCA right now.

With the new one, you can customize it based on annual amount that you get back and on deductible, which is what I like more. I recommend ASPCA all the time.     I appreciate the confidence having insurance for my 4 cats gives me. I had 3 pass from various illnesses while on ASPCA insurance, and the confidence of being able to access care for them, knowing that my claims would be dealt with quickly and fairly, took a huge burden off my heavy heart. My current crew just had annual check ups, almost all covered by their preventative care plans.     It was easier than I expected! My healthy 1 1/2 yr old puppy had suddenly started inexplicably salivating out one side of his mouth, lost his appetite, wouldn’t drink much, and became lethargic.     Go with a different company. ASPCA does not care about your pets like they claim. I have been jumping through hoops on a claim and they will not respond to the emails.     In my opinion, ASPCA Pet Insurance was the worst pet insurance I’ve ever used. I paid nearly $100 a month for coverage, but they denied every claim I submitted. A minor error in the veterinarian’s medical records was cited as the reason for denial, even though my vet provided an official addendum to correct the mistake. Despite this, ASPCA Pet Insurance still refused to pay. Over the previous four years, I had other pet insurance companies, and none of them behaved this way. They processed claims without excessive delays or excuses. Based on my experience, ASPCA Pet Insurance was the only provider I’ve used that repeatedly refused to pay claims.

    When I requested a refund, it took nearly three months for them to process my appeal, and they failed to send the check promptly. To me, this felt like a company prioritizing profit over fulfilling its promises. When I canceled my policy, the refund I received was only about 5% of my monthly premium—an amount I felt was inadequate given how much I had already paid. In my experience, ASPCA Pet Insurance did not provide the support I expected for my pet’s medical care. If you’re considering pet insurance, I would recommend carefully researching other providers before committing to this one.

    I have the ASPCA pet insurance and have been back and forth to my local vet. My deductible is 250 dollars. I have paid out over 1500$. Recently brought my pet to the vet for a wellness check and paid 195$. Just received my reimbursement check and it was for a grand total of 15$??? Called customer service rep and was informed that the blood work that was done only covered the lab test but did not cover the taking of the blood. Seriously?? My issue is why am I paying over a thousand dollars a year paying out an additional 1500$ on top for vet costs and having my pet insurance company tell me that I have not yet met my deductible yet??? I have kids so I know that the schools have taught our kids a new math but this is almost as bad as a ponsi seem.

    To end my review I say to you all this be sure that you read your policy because when I just did...I have also discovered that even when your deductible has been met they will still only cover 80% of the cost that occurs. AGAIN I say why a cap on your deductible when you're still taking 20% of the money you're supposed to give back. Thanks for reading my rant.

    In general, I do not find ASPCA pet insurance to be good. Only covering flea OR heartworm medicine is not in the best interest of my pets. I treat year round for both. Also your reimbursement rates are less than 25% of the actual costs on top of incredibly slow payments. I don't even go to a high cost vet! One would think you didn't actually care about animals. Thankfully I haven't had an actual accident or illness with my pets, because I'm certain that this insurance would be laughable.

    ASPCA Pet Health Insurance seemed to be the most reasonable and they have some good reviews. We had gone to a different company initially due to rate but switched to ASPCA. The reimbursement of the claim cycle and process is reasonable which is what continue to hook us even though rates continued to go up a bit annually. But we're satisfied. Every time we put in a claim, we have low deductibles. It makes it nice where we could start recouping some of that outlay. Fortunately, our dogs are healthy. But vet bills are very expensive nowadays. I do everything online. I would upload the invoice. I would identify if it was a new accident, illness, or hold an existing. One of the guys has just meds that he takes for a continual problem. There would be no questions. Within a couple of days, it would be processed and we get a check in the banking account. We're happy.

    I submitted for the 1st time in a few years my first claim & moved 2x since a divorce. I thought once I changed my new bank information into your system that both the 'claims' and 'paying my premium' (always on time) for 8 years that my claim reimbursement would have been sent to my current bank. Unfortunately, my claim for $273.14 & $32.21 went to my old bank account which my ex husband still holds & claims the $$ was not sent to his account.

    Since I'm not a member there anymore, the bank WILL NOT disclose any info with the tracking numbers provided so I'm out $305.35 & NOT HAPPY since the $$ was not returned because most likely the ex lied. Your website needs to indicate that you also need to update the claim area with your new bank info. I feel that I was robbed & if you had great customer service which you don't, (twice no one called me back when they said they would) you would credit my premium to that amount since I have been a good customer to you.

    Very bad experience, for foreigner who bring your pets from other country, do not choose ASPCA because the medical record from other country are not accepted it that what I find out when I did claim, they require at least 2 year medical record but I moved from France to CA only one year, also for the claim take so long to processed.     It's hit or miss with ASPCA. I'm not in love with it but I still need it. There've been some stuff that they've denied that's questionable and there are other stuff that they've accepted that probably shouldn't have been accepted. The coverage is great when they do what they claim they do and I like that I don't have to talk to a human being to submit a claim. But the customer service line is confusing and uses ambiguous language. It's very difficult to get through to where you need to go. Then when you do, a lot of their customer service people have no clue what they're talking about. I called the other day to discuss an injury on one of my client horses, and the girl had no equine knowledge. It made the conversation very infuriating, and I was not happy about it.

    My sister's dog and my dog are brothers. My sister's dog had an auto immune disease, and it was so expensive to save him. I figured I better insure my dog in case of emergency. I was with Perfect Paws, but they went out of business. I googled the next best insurance online and found ASPCA. On January 1st, George, my dog, was lethargic. I rushed him to an emergency vet. They had to keep him for 14 hours and it was $1,400. I filed the claim with ASPCA and at first, they said no. I called them up and they told me they would get back with me. Then they sent me $1,300 back. The $100 was for the deductible.

    I'm not sure why the price went up though. I spoke to a man, and he explained it but it didn't make sense. I was going to go with Spot but when I spoke to the ASPCA man, I decided to stay where I was at. I'll pay the extra $10 a month. I didn't like the price increase, but animals gotta be insured and ASPCA has great coverage. I like them. They've been wonderful and I have three dogs insured with them. I have a six-year-old, a two-year-old and now a four-month-old. I've already recommended ASPCA and somebody else I know just got them.

    I've deleted coverage as my pets have died over time, but I'm very tempted to delete the ASPCA coverage because they keep jacking it up every time my dogs get older, which seems a little mean. While I understand that dogs cost more as they get older, it becomes prohibitive if you have a bunch of old dogs. So I'd love it if they did a bulk discount or did something that enabled people who have old dogs to keep using their great supportive health insurance for less.

    It would be great if they included parrots in their ASPCA possible creatures that you can insure since I have some. Also, the age thing gets prohibitive pretty quickly and they sort of make it seem so cool and cheap at the beginning, so it creeps up on you and it isn't really fair given how much you end up paying over time because you've paid them tons of money by the time you finish. It starts being questionable whether it's as valuable as it was when they were young. Other than that, I still have it because I started with it and I hope that they give ASPCA a little bit of money because they are related, and that was one of the marketing things that made me choose them. But they've also been very fair in their reimbursements, so it's been good.

    We are switching over to another company because I didn't know the deductible was 250 and I had to pay the annual first. I didn't know they start at 250 when we first did it. When we did the treatment for our pet the other day, I didn't know that we have to pay that first and then start getting to get the money back to start doing a reimbursement. So we already paid for the $200 treatment. ASPCA didn't explain all of it in the beginning when we didn't know how it works. They had other plans that I don't have to do 250 deductible. When I got plan and called them, then they explained about the deductible thing, but I was already looking at other plans, so I'm going to end up switching, which is why I never paid them again.

    ASPCA said tthat preventative vaccines was in the plan. But when I looked at it this time, they only pay for partial. They never made us understand the plan. I'm paying more money to them $40 and then I still gotta make my deductible. So they’re only giving me 80% or 90% of what I'm paying. Our pet was born in May and we had her first wellness exam. She had the preventative shot. When ASPCA paid back the first time, I paid 152 out-of-pocket and then they gave me back 132, which was a nice thing. The next time I went on September 9th for her second round of shots, my vet told me to file my claim again. So I filed a claim and I paid 222 for it. Then I got a thing back yesterday saying it was $48 reimbursed. If they only pay for one round of shots, they should have said that, because I still find it pointless for them to pay for one shot.

    She also had an ear infection, and my doctor said ASPCA should cover it because that was part of a new illness. That was her first time having an ear infection. ASPCA paid some of it. But they also said they had to credit it to the deductible, which I told them, “Well, y'all have to explain stuff more thoroughly.” At first, they sent it to me with the $48, and I told them, “Well, y'all say y'all cover new illnesses, and this and all that wasn't $48.” I had to call them to get this information out of them, and they said, “Oh, you didn't pay. You have to pay the deductible of the 250. And then we start reimbursing.” But they didn't say that from the get go.

    I got an expensive dog and he deserves an ASPCA insurance. He's an Old English Sheepdog and when he had a surgery, I got reimbursed part of the money. Everything was good and the process with ASPCA was really fast. He had a hip replacement and that was almost a year and a half ago but he's still having issues. He can't recover 100%, but we're still working on it. He's getting therapy every week. We got a therapy place on our own that was recommended by a friend and I forwarded the invoices for the last six therapies to ASPCA. They guided me on how to submit the invoiced but I haven't gotten reimbursed yet.

    Purchased this insurance for two young dogs. First claim after deductible ok but next claim annual exam items they didn’t want to reimburse. We had to keep calling and they kept demanding records all the way back to puppyhood. They already get records for each claim and we asked would we have to provide records from puppy up to age of dog every claim for the next seventeen years? They got everything again and now no action at all. We are cancelling both policies now as we can put $70 Month into savings for ours dogs' health. BTW our dogs are very young and healthy. Recommend staying away from this company.

I was only partially reimbursed for basic preventative care that I paid for, and for a surgery they barely paid anything at all despite being told it would be covered. And continue to ask for the same documentation that had been provided numerous time to ask for the same documentation time after time again. Also will tell look at your policy and don't let them lie to you and say "This happened during your waiting period".     ASPCA had the shortest window of anything preexisting happening and the only downfall is my rates have gone up a lot. The dogs have aged and it has been a big difference from starting at 60 bucks a month and then jumping to 230 a month. But the coverage has been good. Getting an insurance is important in case anything major happened and it made sense for the breeds that I have. I have one that passed earlier this year and a Malinois. They're very active dogs and always getting hurt.

Nevertheless, this was a shocker. For a day or two, they were so exact that my preventative went into effect immediately. My friend had a stroke so I adopted her 9-year-old shih-tzu, who I still have. She's mine now so I took out insurance for her and it cost me a lot more because of her age. When I met this obstacle, she had a problem with her liver. The preventative went into effect but the emergency was a day or two short of its effectiveness and I got $50 back from 3,650.

    The mare was no longer showing and they get to an age where their regular insurance doesn't cover them anymore. I went ahead, got ASPCA and had to make a claim on it. She had a colic for the first time in her life. She is 18 years old and I've had her all her life. It wasn't a normal colic. I took her to New Bolton, University of Pennsylvania. She had an impaction in her stomach which they couldn't do surgery on. All they could do was try to tube her and get it to dissolve, which it finally did. ASPCA covered a lot of that. They paid out very quickly and I was very satisfied with that. The thing that made the visit expensive was she's a retired show pony, so she's fat. They had to be very careful ‘cause we couldn't feed her while she had that, which makes fat ponies start to have other metabolic issues. It was three days that they were calling me twice a day with updates. I was very grateful to have ASPCA.

    I had another horse that stopped showing and it made more sense to use ASPCA so she's covered for accidents and colic. I just adopted a little dog from a rescue and she's on ASPCA now, too. The last time, my last dog had a cardiac problem when she was 11. I asked Trilby, the young lady that helped me when I was vacillating between insurances, “Would this have covered that?” She said, “Yes. It would have covered the echo.” She was very nice. I told her to let me shop around. Then I called her back and she went over everything two, three times with me and made sure I knew what was covered. The little dog that I got to rescue had a broken pelvis. I shared that, and that's not covered for anything, but she was great to talk to.

    Terrible Pet Insurance - Avoid ASPCA at All Costs. I purchased this pet insurance policy for my dog, and it has turned out to be an absolute nightmare. The monthly premiums were nothing short of exorbitant, but I figured it would be worth it for the peace of mind and coverage. However, after carefully reviewing the lengthy terms and conditions, I discovered major issues with this policy. Nowhere in the clauses did it state that I could not make a vet appointment for my dog prior to the end of the waiting period. The policy only said that conditions diagnosed during the waiting period would be considered pre-existing. So, I scheduled an appointment for my dog, thinking this was a natural and reasonable thing to do. The actual diagnosis ended up happening after the waiting period, but the insurance company still refused to cover the treatment, citing the appointment as the reason.

    In my opinion, this is an underhanded and unethical practice by the insurance provider. If they can use the fine print to deny coverage based on technicalities, then the same should apply to consumers. There was no clear prohibition on making appointments beforehand, and I believe I acted in good faith. Now I am stuck with over $2,000 in vet bills that I have no way to pay. This pet insurance has been an absolute disaster, and I would strongly caution anyone considering signing up. The high costs, deceptive policies, and egregious denials of coverage make this one of the worst pet insurance providers I have ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your pet's healthcare needs. If I could provide a negative star rating I would.

    After being a loyal ASPCA customer for many years, I was disappointed to find that my premium nearly doubled this year. The last few claims I made took an unusually long time to reimburse, and I even had to open a case for one of them, which I won. When I compared ASPCA's quote with other top insurance companies, I found the same coverage for a significantly lower price. In fact, it was less than what I was paying with ASPCA. I sent in my cancellation email a few days before my renewal date, explaining my reasons, but received no response, and my policy was not canceled on the renewal date. I just rechecked my account, and it is now canceled (a week later), but I have yet to receive a response from them, and they have not initiated the reimbursement process. I understand that companies need to make money, but the fact that I found the same insurance at a substantially lower cost and, most importantly, that I received zero response from them speaks volumes.

    I've had ASPCA for four years. Mostly, my claims have been the annual checkups and it's really easy to do. I just take a picture of my invoice from the vet and upload it in the app. I also answer a couple questions about the vet visit, then I have the money direct deposited into my account within two to three days at the most. ASPCA covers what I need to be covered, and I would definitely recommend them. I don't think it's too expensive, and the cost without it would be a lot more. However, sometimes it's hard to find what is covered under the insurance. It leads me to their main policy which is a lot of pages to sift through. It would be easier if they had a quick bulleted list of what's covered.

    I got a couple of quotes and went with ASPCA. They were a little cheaper, and I like the customization of the plan where I could choose, like if I wanted to add wellness or if I wanted a certain kind of a deductible. Plus, any time I've called them, they've been really knowledgeable and kind. I've used ASPCA for general vet moves. My oldest cat needed her teeth cleaned, so I got $100 off via the plan. I also submit claims any time I have to take my pets to the vet and get blood work. Another thing that I've submitted before with them is my one cat has a special diet, and it's prescription-based. So they've paid for her food a few times.

    Having pet insurance is valuable to me, and just paying a little every month is manageable. When my pets are two years old, I'm not insuring them because I think they're gonna get sick now. It's for what's gonna happen years from now. If one has an emergency, I don't wanna be in a situation where I'm having to choose between thousands of dollars and trying to save my pet's life.

    I like that ASPCA came to my veterinary clinic. I like that they had a short time span in order to get the coverage, and they have offered the option to reimburse the vet beforehand as well. Not a lot of insurance companies offer that. I did a claim and the process was quick, and they covered 90% after I got my $500 deductible down. Overall, it went well with quick turnover time, too. It's just ASPCA's general customer service hotline kind of suck.     I started my cat on ASPCA in October 2023. In the beginning it was VERY rough as they needed medical records and it was taking 4 weeks to get reimbursed. Things got better for about 6 months and now we are in medical record limbo yet again. I don't understand this. I've been getting my cat's prescription cat food for EIGHT months. Obviously you had the medical records because you've approved 8 months worth of claims. This month I submitted a claim for the same prescription cat food, for the same medical issue, and you guys keep saying you need medical records. I have faxed and email the very few medical records that he has at least 15 times. Why is it like this? His medical records haven't magically changed. He still has the same issue that he was diagnosed with back in October. No wonder it takes so long for you to process claims. You keep asking for medical records that you already have!!!!

    Such an easy way to submit claims. Fast easy app to use. Great communications and all easy to understand. We have a deductible that works well for us and this year we met it and started receiving payments for our claims. This plan saves our vet the trouble to submit a claim and like I said, they make it so easy. Take a picture of the invoice, upload and done.

    I have had ASPCA Pet Insurance now for several years. It has helped me be able to afford, and budget for unexpected expenses relative to the care of my three dogs. At affordable price points. Their app is very easy to use. Claims are promptly reviewed and paid and when it came time, I had to put my beloved Bella to sleep, I was very impressed to see that all her final expenses were covered as well.     Filing claims is super easy and quick. Our dog had an abscess tooth that needed to be extracted and the insurance covered 90% of it after fulfilling our deductible. The insurance doesn’t cover as much for routine exams and vaccinations but we got it specifically to cover the large unexpected issues.

    I purchased the accident insurance for my dog. I only wanted insurance to cover his knees. I called last year (2023) to ask about an unrelated foot injury. I asked if he injured and I made a claim on his foot would they cover it if he injured his knee on the same leg. They said yes. In December of 2023 my dog got injured in the woods. I took him to his vet in January 2024. They recommended I see a specialist. I made that appointment and was seen in April. The specialist thought my dog needed surgery and was able to do surgery the next day.

    I called that night and asked if the knee surgery would be covered. I was told it was a 50/50 and it would take 10 days to see if they would cover the estimate. They rejected the estimate because my referring vet who saw my dog in January didn't send records in. I send in my final invoice and ASPCA did end up covering it according to the email I received. I have not yet received any compensation. It has taken 4 weeks for that decision to cover the procedure to be relayed. I just am glad that I am not relying on this insurance to cover a genuine emergency. I was left feeling like I had to make a decision on whether I could afford the procedure and operate under the assumption that insurance would not cover it. I got insurance as a safety net and on the day of surgery I didn't feel like it was a safety net. I felt like it was a gamble not a safety net.
