We have had to use our pet insurance far more often than we thought we would and it has been worth every penny. Our German Shepherd had to have both his front legs worked on and the bill came to over $5000.00. Insurance paid 90% of it. Our other dog needed to have a fatty pocket removed and the insurance paid off within a week. Very happy with the whole process.

You have heard if you don't have your health you don't have anything. It is amazing how much happier your pet is when they get good medical attention. My cat got really sick with a mycobacterium infection that just kept getting worse and worse since it took months to identify. I was in and out of specialists doing tests left and right, on more antibiotics than I'd like to count and ASPCA has been there with no questions asked to help me get my cats the help he needs. I don't know how I would have been able to afford his treatment without their help. I'm so grateful!

I would highly recommend this company to anyone! The coverage is amazing and the staff are wonderful. My dog is very sick and I always get reimbursed for his treatments. I don’t think I would be able to take care of him without this insurance.

SHOPPERS BEWARE! ASPCA Insurance has very sneaky business practices! I started a policy for my dogs in 2017 for $80/month ($40 per dog)... It was then increased to $99/month — then $118/month — and in November 2019, it was raised to $161/month without any notification. They have more than DOUBLED my monthly premium in less than 3 years. I have paid over $4,200 in monthly premiums and one of my dogs has never even had a single claim. SHOP ELSEWHERE FOR INSURANCE! There are PLENTY of companies that are trustworthy of your time and money but ASPCA Insurance is NOT one of them!

This company is a scam. I honestly think a lot of these positive reviews aren't real. My wife signed up for a plan and we paid ~$65 a month for years for our dog and when his heart started failing due to a heart murmur were told the incident limit was $3k so that was all they'd cover. Ok, seems low but whatever. Then a conversation a few months later they said the incident limit was $1k so that was all they'd cover. Ok, seems really low. Then when we submitted the expenses they refused to pay that because they said it was congenital. Well that sucks.

I've been a bit delayed in submitting a review of ASPCA Pet Health Insurance and should have done so sooner. My husband and I are so glad to have insurance through ASPCA for our 80-lb. toddler/pit bull mix, Zeus. Not long after first getting the policy we experienced a series of scary and unnerving health issues with Zeus, including one that resulted in a very expensive trip to a pet ER and another one not long after that resulted in an (almost equally expensive) emergency trip to what is now his permanent (and absolutely wonderful) vet! I tear up thinking about the anxiety, worry, and stress we dealt with over a period of about 2 months of constant and out-of-nowhere health issues with our baby that resulted in several vet trips and I'm just so grateful to this company for being there for us through such a difficult time.

Claims normally take 3-4 weeks to process. I have them direct deposit reimbursement into my checking account. My little GSP puppy is now 15 months old and weighs 54 lbs. He can outrun a horse for an hour, point and retrieve pheasant, quail, and prairie chicken, so he gets cuts, scrapes, eats stuff he discovers while hunting, and drinks dirty water in the field. So we're glad we have this insurance!

Horse was injured in a pasture accident. Called for guidance and was given accurate info. Sent appropriate paperwork in and claim was paid promptly, as were follow ups. Great value for an accident prone horse. Also have the colic coverage and hope to never use it.

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance is awesome. Their agents have always been super helpful and knowledgeable. I've had to file two claims for my shih tzu after having to take him to Emergency Services twice after ingesting poisons. They covered 90% of both bills which together totalled $2,100. And they did it without balking or me having to do anything more than submit the invoice. I highly recommend their services.

I’m thankful every day for this insurance. Two months after having it, my little chi had an emergent episode which landed her in an emergency clinic and subsequent hospital stay for 4 nights and 5 days. This resulted in a diagnosis of severe pulmonary hypertension, enlarged heart and collapsed trachea.. She is now on medication three times a day, and goes for testing every 3 to 4 months. I could never have afforded a hospital stay, and the continuing medical care that she needs without this insurance. This insurance truly saved her life. I’m happy that they are able to process my claim within about a week and a half to two weeks. With the direct deposit making funds available immediately.

It takes a while to get claims to be completed compared to other pet insurance companies. I wait weeks for my reimbursements. Besides that, customer service is helpful and the app is easy to use! I just wish there was quicker turn around with claims. I have heard from other people and vets that this is an issue.

I had VPI once, they denied my claim while my puppy was dying. A few years later I got ASPCA insurance and for only 35$ a month Per pet they covered every injury and illness 90% with a $10k yearly limit. My pet had 2 torn ACLs, and they covered both $4200 surgeries. I can’t imagine owning dogs without it!

I have an elderly large breed dog whom has been healthy her entire life, but is now requiring more medical care. Our dog Leila had a couple serious medical issues last year. Both a horrendous gastrointestinal infection, and a broken, infected rear molar were resolved by an out of town emergency vet and our local vet. I got this insurance immediately when we brought our new puppy home. He had a health problem right away that brought a vet bill to almost $1000. About $700 (the other amount was for vaccines, etc...) was directly related to it and within weeks I was reimbursed about $700. Very happy with them.

If I knew how much they were going to scam me, I would have gone with another insurance company. Beware of their catch all “14 day grace period”. I made the mistake of filing a claim for our new puppy inside of the 14 day period. We just got him and wanted him checked out. Of course he has parasites, so they gave us medicine for it. I filed the claim and it was promptly denied. Ok, I got it. Inside the grace period. Well, we had to take him back to get another fecal exam to make sure the parasites were gone. We ended up having to go back a total of 3 times, with a special trip to an ER for special medicine. All claims were denied because it was either considered a pre-existing condition or an illness that was developed inside the grace period.

The platform is easy to utilize, even with just a smartphone. Reimbursements are timely and always accompanied by explanation of benefits so easy to understand. Receipts are simple to attach just using your cell phone camera. Different plans allow us to chose what’s most important to be covered and pricing is reasonable.

We had other pet insurance before ASPCA and there is no comparison. Although my dog had not one issue with our last insurance they had no contact with us except We had a credit card change and did not realize that the insurance payment was attached to it and our insurance ended up lapsing. I went to get coverage for the first time after paying monthly for 5 years and they said we no longer had the insurance, that they sent a letter a month ago that we never got. Unfortunately since being with ASPCA our dog has had 2 surgeries and they have been amazing. They are so easy to work electronically. We get updates through email and confirmation on claims. The price went up this year but it is so worth it. I highly recommend them. They Have been a savior worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Amazing! They covered 90% of my vet bill. All I have to do is snap a picture of my vet bill and the money is back into my account within a week or so. Also, they sent a get well soon card to my pet, it’s the small details that count! I love it.

I filed a claim and within two weeks I had the claim filled and was reimbursed the maximum amount I could be. I really suggest the insurance because pet bills can pile up very fast. After being with ASPCA I don't plan on stopping them because knowing I won't be out 1-2k becaus`e of a surprise vet visit is great peace of mind. For two cats with preventative it's about 1.2k a year and considering the previous year I spent 1k alone on bills with no coverage.

I have a rehomed Yorkie that I got at 6 months of age. She needed shots, chipped and spayed, which I did. That made me realize that I needed insurance, for "just in case." 4 months later, she required surgery and ASPCA processed the claim expediently. Very easy to file and track online. So far, I couldn't ask for more in an insurance for my furbaby.

I decided a few years ago that I needed to get my Puggle a supplemental insurance for emergencies or things that happened outside of her Banfield plan as it seems like if she gets sick or injured it's outside of office hours and emergency service is expensive. Plus she's a Puggle and unfortunately her little bug eyes seem a bit prone to random surface scratches. I did a TON of research and thought I had picked the best company to go with but the one time I actually needed it, they were terrible to work with and rude. I ended up having to file a claim with the BBB to get results.

This is a very good company & they are very willing to speak to pet owners when there are questions. Filing a claim is somewhat easy albeit there can be a freezing when submitting a claim & you have to redo it. There is also a wait for reimbursement which could be shorter. Overall though, I trust them to come thru & will continue to have them cover my 2 Persian babies & I will also add my 2 domestic shorthair babies.

Our cat is only a few years old, so we were surprised when the vet said she’d developed a tooth problem and needed an extraction, and then she needed extra antibiotics to finish healing properly. Filing a claim online was really easy - we hate to see our little fluffball in pain, but having the insurance really helped us cover the unexpected expense, and that made the whole thing less stressful. She’s back to being a happy cat now!

ASPCA has been a GREAT decision for our 2 cats. The first year we barely used it, but when our senior cat got extremely ill a few months ago, having this insurance saved us thousands of dollars. The deductible is low and we receive 90% reimbursement of costs. They are also extremely quick once a claim is submitted and most ailments are covered. It is worth every penny to have your pets insured.

I was not totally sold on purchasing the insurance for my 2 year old boy when I adopted him - but I did. He was healthy, young and a mixed breed. A few years later he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that requires constant visits, blood tests and medication management. I couldn’t do it without ASPCA! They are thorough, easy to use, quick to pay and provide service I can count on! I am extremely pleased and would never have another pet without getting this insurance!

My family and I have had many pets and never thought to insure them. When we got our new puppy 8 months ago my husband insisted, even though I didn’t think it was worth it. After talking to my vet, she suggested two companies to look into if we were going to. 6 months in we find out he has elevated liver values and have spent time and money trying to diagnose it. Regular vet appointments, specialist, biopsy, and more has been covered and we couldn’t be more thankful. It’s taken the financial stress out of deciding whether or not to get care. Our pup is doing better but still need la rechecks and medication. ASPCA gives us the peace of mind to take care of our very important family member.

My baby girl, Greta, had bladder stones. She had 3 vet visits, and the stones did dissolve. Her ASPCA insurance paid for it all. The insurance is great, customer service is nice, and it's easy to upload the vet bills. It does take a minute to get the check, but that's ok. We love the insurance!

Very happy with our experience! Our puppy has a unfortunate incurable disease, which is very pricey with all of his medicines, tests, and Vet appointments. We haven’t had any problems with getting his bills covered. The only complaint is how long it takes to be reimbursed on most claims.

I got insurance for my dog as a puppy. I am happy with how quickly claims are handled. I like that you can fax or email your claims. You can also check claims online. I like that you can pick and choose your deductibles and your reimbursement amount.

ASPCA Pet Insurance is great and exactly as advertised. Some will be mad, but if you read the fine print, they pay exactly what they promise. You have to meet your deductible and then they pay whatever percent you bought. I have it for two dogs. One hasn’t had any issues and I’ve lost money, the other has been to the vet several times and it’s been great. It’s a bet, but that’s how insurance goes. I recommend it to everyone I know.

We signed up for the accident-only plan, and we have never had a problem getting our bills paid back, even after one dog went to the vet three times for porcupine incidents. We’ve been very happy with the fast, fair, and consistent service.

Unfortunately, our Phoebe slipped a disc in the normal course of life and was struck with sudden onset paralysis. We rushed her to the ER and they recommended emergency surgery. Thanks to our great coverage, we knew we could afford it and didn't hesitate to say yes. The timeliness of our decision is, according to the surgeon, the only reason she was up and walking just two days post-op. A few weeks later and she is back to her normal self, but still on crate rest to be safe - she hates it! The insurance is great but the price is extremely high. Especially being on a fixed income. Would like to see higher limit for the two dogs. So far ASPCA has been good. But sometimes the explanation of benefits are hard to understand.

Very easy to submit claims but in today’s electronic society, a 30 day processing time for reimbursement is too long. If I submit all of my bills & records I should have reimbursement within 10 days, just like my own health insurance.

They will do whatever they can to not reimburse you for anything. It's clear they let whoever answers the phone choose what is a "preexisting condition" based on their subjective opinion. My vet went through all my pup's records with me and told me the insurance should cover it-- $1000 vet bill and two years of monthly payments to ASPCA later and I've paid for it all and not gotten a penny back. Cancelled my plan today-- it's more beneficial to put money away monthly for an emergency than to give it to these crooks.

In February 2019 I got a puppy and ASPCA Pet Health Insurance was recommended to me. Unfortunately my puppy has had a bout of intestinal issues and my claims are paid in a very timely fashion. I couldn't be happier!

So far so good. I have been very happy with the ease of filing claims, the speed of claim processing, and the quality of customer support. We have never had pet insurance before, and we have a healthy young dog now, but we don't know what the future will bring. The monthly $45 premium brings us peace of mind, which is worth it to us. Also, I am very happy with the flexibility to choose a plan that feels the "most comfortable" in terms of deductible and whether preventive care requires coverage.

It is incredibly easy to submit claims. It is easy to use the app, just take a picture right through the app and answer a couple simple questions. It took 5 minutes. When I received the claim status back it was very easy to read and understand. I received the check VERY quick, within a few days I believe. Also, it covered more than I expected, I wasn't sure if I would have to fight for coverage the first time.

I have nothing but good things to say about my ASPCA pet insurance. My puppy is only 8 months old but in that time each claim I submitted was processed quickly and in accordance with my policy terms. For 11 years I've had a difference insurer for my old dog, they find any excuse to deny coverage. This is what prompted me to choose another company. For me the biggest factor was exam fee reimbursement. I'm very happy with my choice and recommend ASPCA to people I speak with (I work at an emergency/specialty vet hospital and see multiple/duplicate requests from other insurers for additional info).

This was our first expirenced with pet insurance. My research had focused on coverage and time to pay. I have been very pleased with ASPCA in both regards. The phone app is also very user friendly. The direct link to bank account to have reimbursement direct deposited is also wonderful.

My coverage includes insurance plus the preventative benefit. I wrote ASPCA Pet Insurance regarding my coverage for spay procedure and they returned an answer that I would be covered up to $150. I submitted a claim after surgery but it was denied. When I called I found out I needed the "prime" preventative coverage instead. Also, none of my many vet visits was covered under the preventative. I discontinued it for next year. All the representatives are nice, but the coverage itself was confusing and less than I expected.

ASPCA pet insurance is very timely with reimbursement. There is nothing hidden in their contract. It’s simple, you get what you agree to! So to recap, timely payments and no contractual hidden language, what else can you ask for! In one word, EXCELLENT.

Behavioral appt for excessive barking. Insurance did consider the entire cost for this appointment. I had to call back and ask to have it re-examined. Still haven’t heard anything back. Usually the insurance is very prompt and fair. I guess I have to wait or call back yet again.

I was reluctant to sign up for pet insurance but after talking to my vet and ASPCA insurance representative I signed up and I couldn’t be happy. So far everything has been covered except for a dental procedure and well care.

Decided to give this insurance a try. Started submitting vet bills for our ARC rescued cat. The cat has had some medical issues so I have submitted most of the bills for processing. Interesting that some submissions were covered and others were not. A little confusing and inconsistent, I think. Explanations are hard to follow. Have had enough bills covered that makes it worthwhile. Uncertain concerning future premium increases though. All in all have been pleased so far.

I think that 2 weeks is plenty of time if you have all the necessary paperwork you requested to process the claim. Overall my experience has been pleasant. The coverage was good but that all depends on the owner's election. I was extremely touched when Marley passed away that someone called me. He left a beautiful, heartfelt message that touched my heart. I was really grateful for that message. ASPCA insurance does a great job overall providing healthcare for our furbabies. I decided to get insurance for my pet SirChulo because I know the hardships of having pets without having insurance. I recommend every pet owner to get insurance for their pet the day they sign that dotted line and the pet becomes their own. The reason I stand behind this pet insurance is because when SirChulo was diagnosed with multricentric lymphomia and I was on the verge of being surplused from my job. They filled my claims fast and with no issue and called me with followup for my dog. I know that is their job but to do follow up for dog meant the world to me. Show they are not just a business but people who care about the pets they insure. I have purchase two more puppies SirMalaki and LadySpicy and I will always be a huge supporter of ASPCA Pet insurance because I know they have my back.

Unfortunately my dog was cryptarch and only one testicle dropped so additional surgery had to be done and it was not covered so I'm a little shocked because the excuse they gave me was at 3 months old it was still in his abdomen but we all know dogs have until at least 6 to 8 months of age for it to drop, he was neutered at 10 months in hopes.

I have always had a wonderful experience with ASPCA health insurance. The customer service is by far the best I've experienced across the board. I love that everyone seems to care about the health and welfare of my animals nearly as much as I do. When we've had sick pets, and in one case, when we lost a dog, I was impressed that the folks from ASPCA reached out and honestly shared their emotions with me. My cat was having dental issues. I submitted my claim after she had surgery and I was sure they would find some reason not to pay. The claim was paid without problem and very fast. I was so happy not to add the stress of an insurance problem along with my cat's problem. Love them!

Web site is not as easy to use as others. You can't remove listings of pets insurance policies you no long use nor can you remove vets you don't use any longer. Customer service is often very slow as is the payment of claims. You never know when a check will be deposited in your account, you have to keep checking which is a real pain.

I like this insurance because of what it covers for my pets like doctor visits to name a few. They always ask about my pets, Bennie and Bugsy. It shows me that they care. That personal feeling makes a difference to me.

ASPCA has been GREAT! My German Shepherd when a puppy hurt her paw, brought to vet and there was a chance it was an ACL tear... After hearing what that may cost, I got pet insurance, and luckily I did! Not too soon after she had severe food allergies, ASPCA has paid for itself tenfold. And FYI it wasn’t an ACL tear, she just a typical drama queen German Shepherd.

I was going to drop my coverage with ASPCA because of the pre-existing rule. But kept it, after you changed the definition of a pre-existing condition. That said, I've always found the service to be great, claim payments fast, the premiums fair and the staff to be knowledgable and helpful. Ed and Cats. Please don't change the pre-existing condition definition from its current language, even if it requires a premium increase to do so.

ASPCA Pet Insurance has been the difference between euthanasia and a quality, albeit challenging, life for my gentle giant. Unfortunately the premiums increased by nearly 30% after the first year. I am hoping this is something of a one off and will update next year as to whether this is a tenable long-term option. As things stand, they have otherwise been phenomenal- payments are processed quickly and efficiently.

On the website, there is a check box that tells you all the things that *may* be covered. Pet neuter/spay is on there. Well, apparently it's not necessarily covered, as in our case. I'm furious because I assumed it was. They didn't cover a dime of a $600 procedure. And their callous call center representative wouldn't do anything for us, even though the site says it is, with a green little check mark. This is the reason we went with this pet insurance vs. any other pet insurance, and we're out of luck.

ASPCA is fair in their coverage, the deductible is tough to meet when you have healthy dogs. I do like how much they cover and for what they cover. I always recommend ASPCA to my friends when I asked what insurance I have.

We have had our puppy for about 12 weeks, and we are about $2,600 deep in vet bills, and haven't even hit our $250 deductible. This plan has denied coverage for just about everything, stating things are all tied to the few issues our puppy had in the first 14 days. While I understand her coccidia she had on her first day would not be covered, I never expected them to deny our claim for acute conjunctivitis because it showed similar symptoms to potential redness she had in her eye months prior. I also didn't expect them to deny our $1000 worth of claims for gastroenteritis, stating that too was a preexisting condition.

My 12 year old Cavalier King Charles had TPLO surgery in May of this year and I was blown away how quickly I got my claims check.
