I was recently scam by Paypal. I had bought a streaming device on Instagram and used Paypal as the payment center thinking that Paypal will protect my purchase if something goes wrong with it. And, something did go wrong when I received the device 3 months later. I contacted paypal and paypal told me to contact the seller to resolve my issue. The seller told me not to launch my complaint with paypal and they will refund me. I went back to paypal asking paypal if that is what I should do. Paypal told me not to follow what the seller had suggested but, instead to file the complaint.

After filing my complaint with paypal, mailed the device back to the seller, emailed my proof of sending the device back to the seller to paypal, paypal denial my case. I will never deal with paypal ever again and I suggest everyone to stop dealing with paypal. They have turned into a scam organization by not protecting their customers. If I have a choice, I will not award any star to this organization.

I have used PayPal for years, but as of lately they have become complete trash that doesn’t protect their buyers. I filed a claim because I was charged the wrong amount for an item. I provided screenshots of what I agreed to pay and it was clearly different than what they charged me. PayPal didn’t care and sided with the seller. I won’t be doing any more business with this fraudulent company. They support scammers. Additionally, it’s coming up on 3 weeks and I haven’t received my purchase. Total scam.

I have no credit card with PayPal. I just linked my Amex credit card to my PayPal account. Hence, the process is — when I purchase something online and choose PayPal as my payment mode, they charge my Amex credit card with said amount. If there’s a refund, they place it back to my Amex credit card. One day, I made 2 transactions with the same merchant using PayPal. PayPal consequently charged my Amex account. However, merchant cancelled and did not send the ordered items. I disputed the 2 charges in my Amex card and so I was given the temporary credit for both. During the dispute, the merchant gave a refund for both trxns which were sent to my Amex card via PayPal. And so, Amex reversed the initial credits.

In turn, my Amex card was zeroed out (2 charges + 2 refunds = 0). You thought everything was okay? Nope! PayPal started to continuously COLLECT DIRECTLY from me and said that I should pay them DIRECTLY! Pay what? I never received any item and the charges were zeroed out! Paypal continuously HARASSED me during the Christmas and New Year season of 2023 and I mean several emails a day while I’m supposedly celebrating the holidays with my kids!

This is despite the fact that I OWE PAYPAL NOTHING and sent them proofs that the initial credit was reversed by my Amex credit card after a refund was processed by the merchant leading to a duplicate credit. I learned from Amex that PayPal did this unlawful collection to some other people too. Paypal then sent me to a collection agency despite owing nothing. So I showed the collection agency the same proofs that I showed PayPal and they returned the case to PayPal as there was NO debt.

So, if there’s a law firm that wants to take a look at this case, there’s several people like me that are being harassed by PayPal with unlawful collection of money where we owe NOTHING. All the transactions are debited/credited to my Amex card yet Paypal asked for direct payments from me of money that Amex already sent them! Maybe you guys want to file a class lawsuit and sue PayPal for this illegal activity.

On the contrary, PayPal and its subsidiary Xoom handled the transaction as.if there was nothing to it. -Very impressive. It was also an advantage already to have an account with PayPal; gave me the confidence of knowing a dialog could be established if anything went wrong. Nothing did. Well done, y'all.

I'm reading the reviews and seems as I have never seen a place with so many 1 stars (since -1 is not possible). Have been with Paypal for centuries but the last 2 months statements are just weird. I was lucky to get somebody in the line after 4 times authentication, but I was not lucky enough to understand him,..not to understand the answer and math at all. He was rude enough to tell me, "madame you do not let me explain, you keep interrupting me and do not let me finish"! While explaining things that I did ask for and were not relevant to my call. I raised my voice as well to remind him that if he can not take the hit working as customer service representative he was in the wrong place, he yelled at me as he was doing me a favor! Horrible.

I hung up and call for 3rd time, 3rd time the charm, I got a nice guy, and he kind of explained the financial statement, finally I cooled down and finish the conversation, still not understanding the numbers. Hope things improve in next statement, or I guess I will contact the BBB or Federal Trade Commission to see if so many complaints do not stay hanging in limbo. I have been for at least 15 years with paypal, but I do not recall having problems before and they were way better when they were part of eBay, in regards of customer service

To raise questions on any billing disputes on billing activity is very difficult. The answers provided by paypal are very inadequate. For some reason paypal always rules in favor of corporate companies. There is no genuine effort to perform any investigation. IMHO PP has some sort of shady understanding with certain companies and charge the customers. As usual you will 100's of legal pages with incoherent language where PP denies any responsibility. To say there is no customer service is an understatement. They locked me out of my account and the only way they would let me back in was either to take a picture of my photo ID or put my credit card NUMBER in. The APP would not send a text to the mobile number that PayPal’s system recognized when I called. The same phone number I have had for decades. The same phone number I’ve always used for dual authentication with PayPal. I was told that’s normal and there was no manager to talk to. I called three times for the same answer and when I said I was going to file a BBB complaint somehow miraculously my password worked and no need for dual authentication. So sketch. It was a HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE. Over the next 10 days, my Apple account was hit with unauthorized charges 12 times. Requiring me to spend hours on the phone with both PayPal and Apple to dispute charges and secure my accounts. The lack of immediate and effective support from PayPal exacerbated the situation! Despite repeated assurances that the issue was being addressed, the unauthorized transactions continued, causing significant stress and inconvenience while on vacation. Contacted PayPal. They said they will contact the seller, it took a while so I contacted the seller as well. The seller responded and said they will accept the refund and I have to ship it to China, I received a product from USA. Why do I ship it to China, then they provided me with Texas address and then California address which was on the box, Paypal said they will not refund me unless I ship it to China, I told them I have an email from the vendor. They said, "We don’t care. Only the address on file." I called in a manager prior to that and she said she will provide me with the shipping cost.

Next time when I called a manager to complain about the shipping address to China, she was rude and she said there are no mention of the shipping cost offered by the other manager. So they lied. I put my frustrations and reported them to BBB yesterday. Today they closed my case in the favor of the seller after I shipped the product, I had till June 17 to submit the receipt, so now I don’t have the money, nor product and no shipping fees. I lost $ 638.17. If anyone want to join to do a website and put our claims together and sue Paypal please reach out to me. I will hire a lawyer. I was waiting on my refund so I can start my lawsuit so now I guess I have to start now.

I have never had too big of an issue with PayPal... Until now. Last week I went to use my card and it didn't work. I tried a few more times and nothing. I called and they said PayPal canceled the card I was using and sent another card for no reason and no warning. I finally got the new card today and activated it on my account it said I'm ready to spend... Finally.

But PayPal has to make everything difficult so of course, it doesn't work when I go to use it. I call and there's a lock on the card now for no apparent reason and they can't tell me why. I need to get to my money on PayPal. I've been with them for years, get direct deposit and all that and PayPal just screwed me the last two weeks. I still can't use my money. I'm filing a complaint to the BBB. I can't stand PayPal now. They're horrible.

To begin with, there was nothing wrong with my old card. I have things to pay for and need to buy and can't get my money. They just canceled my card on their own. I'll go to Chime. Or any other place sounds better than PayPal right now. I know people that always said They would NEVER use PayPal and I always defended PayPal saying I never had a problem. Then everyone on the phone has an attitude. I should be the one with the attitude. Customer service my foot. I'm being charged extra for being late paying rent because PayPal picked the best time to cancel my card for no reason, but, PayPal doesn't gift a damn

They understand, still paid and signed off on work that was done. They then decided to complain to PayPal not even disputing actual work that was done. PayPal refused to talk to me with a live person and just automatically sent my $859 back to customer. Based off I didn't do the work, yet the customer wasn’t disputing the work I did. They thought I should do the extra work for free, which it also stated on my invoice if there extra work there would be extra charges. PayPal is a joke! In January 2024 I was attempting to buy “overstocked original Disney” branded hats from a website that has now changed their name and address. When I went to check out for the just under $80.00 charge, it went to PayPal and automatically signed me up for a daily subscription fee of $80.00. I did not catch this and out of nowhere the order placed again with another $80.00 subscription fee. I stopped the auto renewal immediately and disputed the charges with PayPal. PayPal decided that it was okay that I was scammed out of $160 as their “seller” still has time to ship the product. I got another person at PayPal on the phone and she started the dispute process for me.

I also disputed it with my Apply Card from Goldman Sachs. I was assured that they would not allow the scammers to get my money. Long story short, Goldman Sachs sided with PayPal and gave them the $180.00. PayPal then gave it to their “sellers” and told me that I have to reach out to the “sellers” for a refund. I did that through PayPal and unsurprisingly— their “sellers” emails are invalid and no longer exist. Now the website is showing an address in California and still scamming people with PayPal allowing it to be paid through them. PayPal is part of the bigger picture of scammers.

I set up an account years ago. Never used it.. In December apparently someone hacked it, changed the password phone number and name on the account.. They sold something, received payments and bought something with the money that was then in the account. Whoever paid them disputed their charge since they clearly never received what they bought. In turn it made the account negative along with 2 $30 dollar fees.. In march I received a letter from a collection agency for the $160 something dollars owed.

I called the collection agency and said I didn’t even use PayPal. They were able to give me the email associated with the account which I also didn’t use. I was able to reset the password and gain access to my account. I saw the transactions and called PayPal to dispute them all. The first person I spoke with said she saw that the password, name and phone number was changed and saw that the account had been compromised. She reimbursed the fees and sent the transactions to the dispute department.

Couple weeks later I get an email that they found all the transactions valid. I called again and they created another dispute.. Same thing over again FOUR TIMES.. I then speak to a supervisor who says he’ll add additional notes and have it expedited… SAME RESPONSE!!! It’s now the end of May. I go to log in to see if there’s any new information… They blocked me out of my account! I can no longer access my open cases.. I just got off the phone with someone who said they would expedite it.. I said no and demanded to speak with a supervisor that I’m beyond frustrated that it has been months and this still isn’t resolved.. Of course the supervisors are on other calls.. Of course they are.. PayPal is a fraud company. My credit score is over 800 and I worked hard to get it there!! This website is fraudulent. It comes up after you click on a valid website and then get redirected to ** so be very wary about clicking on a google search for something and then assuming you will be going to the .com you saw in the search. When this comes up it shows merchandise in a similar format to normal online shopping (see photo) but forces you to a PayPal transaction that does not reveal anything about who is receiving the money. Once you complete your PayPal transaction you get a split second notification that ** received payment. That's when you know something is wrong. Then on my receipt I saw Xeileu ** received payment.

PayPal does not give full disclosure before the transaction is submitted for payment so you start a transaction thinking you're dealing with a commercial company and find out your dealing with some individual from china and the PayPal type transaction makes it impossible to stop the transaction. Citibank says you will have to wait until it posts and that it is not fraud, it's a scam. Still waiting to find out if that is their way of telling me it is not protected. Though only a couple hours away from the transaction, PayPal seems to indicate that I will need to first try and resolve with the seller... right, a fraudulent transaction and I'm supposed to resolve with a potentially fictitious person in china? Website Malwaretips.com lists this as a fraudulent scam site and a general google search will show just how fraudulent it is.

Sufficient disclosure by the payment processing companies at time of payment is a simple solution to resolving this issue. My suggestions: Never use a PayPal transaction to facilitate your commercial purchase - they contribute to the problem. Assume if PayPal is involved then you are doing a craigslist type transaction with and individual or a fraudulent one altogether. Always look to ensure the company you clicked on remains in the address bar at the top... if you see it switch then you are about to lose your money.

The seller's site had no good phone number and no address for me to contact. PayPal could care less even though they approved this seller to use PayPal. After a month of going back and forth with PayPal and seller PayPal response was I should contact a government agency with my complaint. American Express would have immediately refunded the money and proceeded with their own investigation. PayPal has no protection for the buyer using their service, they are a joke, will never use them again.

I been getting hard time from PayPal to pay a debt that was unauthorized by me! The customer service people are unprofessional and have no idea what they are doing! Called multiple times, they reported fraud on the website 3x kept getting denied by PayPal. I had to remove my bank account information from PayPal as soon as I noticed unauthorized transactions and change my bank account number! The worst part is that when a transaction is pending you are not allowed to cancel!!! So PayPal takes the money out of your bank account without being able to stop it. Once it’s transferred the money is taking out immediately from your account! No one is able to help. They pass you on and on to different people and everyone is lost and has no idea how to help.

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience with PayPal regarding an unauthorized transaction. I was scammed out of $400, and despite reporting the incident immediately, the resolution process has been extremely frustrating. When I first reported the unauthorized transaction, I spent nearly an hour on the phone with PayPal’s customer service. They assured me that an investigation would be conducted and that I would receive a refund within 5 to 10 days. However, shortly after, I received an email stating that my case was denied and the transaction was completed. I called PayPal again and was asked to provide additional documentation, including my ID, credit card, and bank statements. I complied with all their requests, but after two days, my appeal was denied, and my account was subsequently blocked.

It is disheartening to feel that PayPal is not adequately protecting loyal users from scammers. Instead of holding the transaction and conducting a thorough investigation, they quickly denied my claim without providing a satisfactory resolution. As a result, it appears that PayPal’s processes may inadvertently favor scammers over legitimate customers. I hope that PayPal revisits its policies and procedures to better support and protect its users in the future. Disclaimer: This review reflects my personal experience and opinion. I understand that individual cases may vary, and I encourage others to share their own experiences and seek appropriate channels for resolution.

I contacted the company and they said not to ship it back as it too expensive and offered us $4.00 USD for something we paid $52.00 USD. We asked for them to send us by email a shipping label and then we would gladly popped the item in the mail. No luck.

We contacted Paypal and started a dispute to only be treated so rudely and told they will not help us unless we ship the item back. We asked for a shipping label to no avail. All the conversations with supervisors got us nowhere and they have closed our dispute. Upon checking out further it turns out the company we ordered from are scam artists as reported in 2023. Honestly I’ve never been so disappointed in a company in my life. I am starting to think PayPal is a scam. I have used PayPal for years- using it to spend thousands of dollars between work and personal because I thought it was safer than just using my bank. But boy was I wrong! I have never had anyone hack into my bank, but I did have someone hack into my PayPal. They added their own address and phone number into my account as if it was a new business - changing my account from personal to business and then sent $41 to Kenya. I saw the transaction hours after it was placed and immediately called PayPal. I already changed my password. They said they saw the fake business and took that off and said I would be refunded the $41 in a month or two. Then a month or two passes and nothing gets resolved.

I call back and they tell me a case was never opened and then they say no problem they will start the case again and to get me a refund asap they labeled it as “did not get refund from seller”. I was like, hey, however you want to write it so I get my refund. Then I do get the refund but I also get a notice same day they are denying my claim. Look, I called hours after the person broke into my account and sent money in a foreign currency using Xoom which I have literally never used as the hacker signed me up for it- I have the email proof that it was created same day.

I sent them the tons of emails and evidence I have. Unfortunately I didn’t think to screenshot the fake business and since they took it down I don’t have a record of that. But I watched them take it down when I first called and thought it was all handled. I then today got a notice they would be taking back the $41 because they have rejected my claim. This is insane. They should never have let this payment go through! Why would you be able to send money same day with a service I never signed up for using a new name and address that were in a different state than me!

Honestly, this is obvious fraud that I caught immediately and the fact that I have now been running around- spending hours on the phone and searching through my email is insane. I should have just reached out to my bank on the first day and reported it. I really regret that. PayPal said it was handled but that was a flat out lie. The first customer service agent literally never even created the case. This is either wildly bad customer service or actual fraud. You know who can get into my PayPal account? PayPal customer service.

I truly can’t believe how bad their customer service is either way. Your money is officially LESS SAFE with PayPal and I will be cancelling my account with them. Oh and their evidence complaint window timed out and closed while I was writing so I had to do it all twice. They don’t want you to actually give them evidence and even if you do they will ignore it. Again, I used them for almost 15 years, so to me the fact that you didn’t A- see this was unusual activity and block it. B - tell me it was taken care of and I would be refunded so I didn’t call my bank but in literally no way took care of it (not even opening a case). And C - ignoring the mountain of evidence that this was someone that hacked into my account and gave NO REASON for the decision. How can you give no reason for my case being denied?! Is it because you don’t have one?! Honestly I am livid and if I could cancel 100 accounts I would.

It is too bad that 0 stars isn't an option. Back in December I purchased tickets from StubHub that were fraudulently listed. Opened a dispute with my bank of which PayPal then reached out to me as they were the platform the purchase was made from. I contacted PayPal to confirm what needs to be done; should I close the case with the bank and open with them or carry on as I was already doing. They said keep it open with the bank and when the case is ruled upon, they will be notified of which they will then take action.

The bank rules in my favor during the first week of February. I reach out to PayPal as the outstanding balance hadn't been refunded and I was told that it could take some time as they did receive confirmation from the bank, but because the case wasn't opened through them, it'll come in as long as 75 days. Frustrating, but I have no choice but to wait.

We've now blown past 75 days and I haven't been refunded. I call customer service and explain the scenario. For the first time in three calls about this issue, I am now told that I needed to open the dispute with PayPal and my bank when it happened. The call is then transferred to accounts and the woman who helped me couldn't have cared less about the problem at hand. Between the yawning and doing other work in the background (it was noticeable that she wasn't paying attention during the call), I was the most frustrated I've been during this process.

Due to the wrong information I had been previously provided, the money couldn't be retrieved as it was now out of the date range. While it wasn't a large sum, it is the principle of the matter. I gladly let her know how I felt about being lied to on multiple occasions and that customer service reps need better training or follow a script. With her personally, it makes sense as to why call center jobs are being outsourced to India and the Philippines. I closed my account following the call. There's nothing PayPal can do that my financial institution isn't capable of. It's always been a bad service, but this was the final straw.

I placed an order with Temu using my PayPal account. The order was around $240.00. Once I processed the order Temu showed a few other items and I decided to order about $30.00 in additional items. I placed the order and Temu added the first order and charged the additional $30 to it for a second charge of $275.00. When the orders arrived I received 2 of everything in the first order along with the additional items in the second package. I spoke with PayPal and returned everything except a few items totaling $122.00. Temu gave me about $80.00 in return credits from the first returned package, but did not give any refunds for the returned items in the second package. So they cheated me out of about $175 on the unintended second order. They kept making excuses as to why they hadn’t processed the second package.

I was undergoing cancer treatments and wasn’t paying close enough to my statements to realize that Temu knows how to work the PayPal system to cheat people out of their money. When I realized I had not received any credit for the second package I disputed the charge with PayPal Credit. Temu immediately took money from the cash side of my PayPal account that I in the past had used for selling on EBay. At the time Temu charged the cash side of my account it had a zero balance as I had not sold anything using the cash side of PayPal since the pandemic. Since Temu had never purchased anything from me I don’t know how they accessed that account, but they know how to work PayPal's system and caused that side of my account to be a negative $122.

I have spoken to PayPal credit about this several times and since the cash side isn’t PayPal credit, no one with PayPal is able to help me. I keep getting transferred around from department to department with no assistance. Temu finally sent me an email stating that the reason they had not processed the returns was because I had disputed the charge. They said if I dropped the dispute they would happily do the refund.

I did what they asked and again there was no refund to the cash side of my account. I called again, was transferred to another department that answered that my cash account had been turned over to a collection agency that was not open at the time I called. PayPal should not be allowing Temu use their credit services because they sell cheap merchandise and have no integrity in doing business. For your own sake never buy from Temu, but if you do, please don’t use your PayPal account because Temu knows how to get around PayPals customer protection system.

I after so many times of back and forth with the international shipping cost, with a hope that Paypal could do as they promised to their customer that they would provided extra protection, I escalated to paypal.

I provided all photos and paper as well as conversation histories including their paper which showed that they cheated on US custom (their shipping custom paper stating the total goods was only $60 which is 1/3 of what I paid). See my attached pictures. What Paypal did? Nothing. Paypal gave Alive Pixels Online Services LLP 100% of my money. ot even as promised by the seller that I would get 50% off, and keep the sheets.... TERRIBLE RESULTS SO FAR. Re: Not Allowed To Transfer MY Bitcoin. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE FOR YOUR SAFETY. As of Friday, April 5, 2024, I have purchased a large amount of Bitcoin, paid my appropriate fees, etc. Everything has been correct. As of Monday, April 8, 2024, I have been able to transfer a small amount of my Bitcoin to my eWallet. Below is my Transfer details and Results:

Monday, April 8, 2024 – I was able to transfer $75 with a fee to my eWallet as a test to make sure everything is working properly. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 – Again I was able to transfer $500 with a Fee to my eWallet as a test to make sure everything is working properly. Thursday, April 11, 2024, 5:53 PM – I attempted to transfer more of my Bitcoin, but an Error Flag appeared and displayed there was a Technical Issue and to Try Again. I tried multiple times with no success, with the Same error. I called PayPal Technical Support and the representative explained that multiple attempts will raise the Security Level Higher. I was told to wait 3 days before I attempt to transfer my Bitcoin to my eWallet which will allow the Security Measures to lower.

Monday, April 15, 2024 (Four Days Later, I added an extra day of precaution) - I was able to transfer $1000 with a Fee to my eWallet. Tuesday, April 16, 2024, 2:47 PM – I attempted to transfer a small portion of my Bitcoin, but the attempt was met with the same Technical Issue as before (Technical Issue and to Try Again). I made only one attempt. I called PayPal Technical Support and was told to wait 24 hours.

Wednesday, April 17, 2024, 4:15 PM – I attempted to transfer a small portion of my Bitcoin, but the attempt was met with the same Technical Issue as before (Technical Issue and to Try Again). I made only one attempt. I called PayPal Technical Support and spoke a Supervisor. The supervisor said, wait 72 hours, not 24 hours because 24 hours does not give Security enough time to lower its security level.

Sunday, April 21, 2024, 9:15 AM – I attempted to transfer $5000 of my Bitcoin but the attempt was met with the same Technical Issue as before (Technical Issue and to Try Again). I made only one attempt. I called PayPal Technical Support and spoke to a Supervisor. I was told that she cannot do anything. All I can do is wait. I told her that all I do is wait and I am not accomplishing anything. I asked her if I could talk to a higher level of support. She said, "I can connect you to a Manager." I said, OK. She connected to another Supervisor (Not a Manager).

I explained to Jessica that I was to be connected to a Manager. She went through the complete process with me as the other Supervisor did. I told her again that I was supposed to be connected to a Manager. She said she could escalate the matter and would connect me to a Manager but it will take approximately 24 hours before a Manager will call me. I said, OK and confirmed my telephone number with her.

I am so frustrated that I am unable to Transfer my Bitcoin. I have been told by PayPal Support that maybe I should consider Selling my Bitcoin. How absurd. I could take a loss. PayPal is not taking care of their customers. My Bitcoin sits in limbo. I have done everything correctly and exactly what PayPal has instructed me to do. What a terrible mess. I am at their mercy and nothing is done.

However the vendor refunded the chairs as three separate transactions, but it still showed that under my transactions that PayPal received the refunds. However, the refunds did not reflect under my promotional balance.

I finally got one customer service agent on the phone on the 6th month of me calling who finally saw the error and did went in and fix the promotional balance and credited my refund but told me the changes won't reflect on my account until another two months. Three months has now passed and nothing has changed to my overall balance.

I now have PayPal bank calling me saying my account is delinquent and is in collections now and when will I pay the money. I explained to them what happened and they understood and saw the error and transferred me back to a Paypal agent to file a complaint and for PayPal to finally fix the error which as usual didn't get fix. The PayPal agent told me she is looking into the error and put me on hold for 8 minutes. Her phone abruptly hung up while I was waiting on hold and she didn't even bother to call me back. Paypal has multiple website pages that promise a full refund, including original shipping. But caveat emptor!!! One of the caveats, hidden deep in the bowels of their legalhub is quote "if you’re filing a Significantly Not as Described claim. PayPal may require you, at your expense, to ship the item back to the seller, to PayPal or to a third party (which will be specified by PayPal) and to provide proof of delivery." WHAT THAT MEANS TO YOU IS "if the merchant makes a mistake and sends the wrong thing, the consumer is responsible for covering the costs of that mistake."

But wait! It gets worse. The merchant I purchased from posts a return policy specifying that the consumer is not responsible for return shipping when the wrong item was sent. I ordered a black shirt and received a white shirt. Despite the merchant's return policy, PayPal refuses to process a refund until I send the white shirt back AT MY EXPENSE. So, before purchasing something from a PayPal merchant, consider how much it's going to cost you to send it back if the merchant sends the wrong thing.

After writing to PayPal executives, I was told that: I (the business) am a threat to the consumers (the comapny). That's according to PayPal. Makes NO SENSE.

I am a consumer, all my transactions are consumer-based. I have never received money from anyone or paid anyone as a BUSINESS. And I'm not a business, but their reason for the account limitation is because I'm a risky business. What a joke. And they tell me to find other payment processing options for my business model, which I DON'T have. I'm not a business that applies any payment rules, or say where the freelancers are gonna get paid. I am the freelancer that get's paid by the business.

It's outrageous. I'm never using this trash again. And they charged me 7 euros, took the fee, and froze me. :) Delete your accounts or never create ones, and never use this service, you might get randomly targeted, so they freeze your money for a while. That way they get more liquidity by some fake reasons they create. And the frozen cash from millions of people, is just doing them a favor, giving them extra time to pump up earnings in another dishonest way. Complete fakery.

After finding a $50.00 dollar charge on my PP account for "payment", I contacted PP to notify them of the matter and ask for their help in determing what had happened. I received a rather curt response telling me that the charge was determined to be legitimate and that my dispute would be closed out without further corrective action being taken. In contacting my bank regarding this matter, they conducted an investigation of the charge issued by the "company" and found it to be a clear act of fraud. My bank immediated issued a dispute with PP and froze my account until the security problems with the PP account were address.

When I advised PP of this they immediately placed the "comany's" name on a list that will no longer allow automatic acceptance by PP with further action. This to me is a clear example of PP needing to be proded to do their job, which I find to be completely unacceptable. In addition to the matter just covered, having to work with a PP representative to elevate the level of security of my account was a monument disaster. The agent I worked with was barly able to pronounce words in english, much less for a compete and coherent sentece.

After explaining to the agent that I was 76 years old and struggling with a terminal illness and that I needed her help and patience with me, she repeatedly continued to "rush me along" during the times I was struggling to carry out the necessary tasks to secure my account. Her lack of any kind of patience, empathy or sensitivity to my situation was dauntingly disappointing to me. I'm not sure what PP is doing in terms of running their customer service, but I would have to say that they fall far sort of the mark when it comes to proviing quality custormer service.

My recommendation is to keep PP on a very tight leash when it comes to your account security. My additional recommendation in regards to customer service is as follows: When you get a customer service agent, immediately ask to speak with that agents supervisor. Advise the supervisor of your customer service review, and you need to have their personal assistance in addressing your situation properly. I have'nt tried this out yet but will do so if I ever have to ask for PP assistance.

The PayPal resolution process is a complete waste of time. Back in February I went to the MS office online store to simply purchase a download for the Windows 10 Operating System (OS). At the threshold the buyer must provide all the information to pay and process the download. I expected an easy procedure to accomplish the purchase, As I began, I discovered I needed the assistance of a "chat" representative. The response was prompt but largely unhelpful. After some time had passed the rep decided I needed to delete data to provide space for the download on my HP Athlon silver laptop.

After, sometime I was able to delete enough data to accommodate Windows 10. When that was unsuccessful a new rep suggested I dispatch a screen shot of the page causing the chokehold. Now I was told that because of my security system and incompatibility I would need to acquire another computer, a flash drive and delete significant data from the subject HP Athlon. I was preparing to travel for a month and explained that process was not available to me and I requested a simple refund of the $32,00 they charged.

MS declined the refund, offered a credit in the online store (for which I had no use) and discontinued any efforts to provide a solution. I filed a complaint with PayPal and the Better Business Bureau. During the PayPal attempted resolution MS accused me of fraud (a defamatory assertion) and claimed they could not re-use their product therefore I was further denied a refund. I explained their loss was illusory, since I too couldn't use the OS and I had actually suffered a monetary loss by paying for something I did not receive.

Ultimately the PayPal resolution process, which was unhelpful and only consisted of pointless cross arguments in email exchanges closed the complaint and made false claims that I didn't respond. MS relied on its own adhesion policy to deny a refund and by extension provided a service that was unmerchantable and outside what is commonplace in the industry. PayPal should defend its client and I encourage to buyers to beware of contacts with the MS store and PayPal. I advised PayPal resolution step by step in all the cross communication and they offered no help and just closed the case claiming I and my husband were non-responsive with no alternative to resolution. We will close the PayPal account. Date of experience: March 09, 2024.

I purchased tickets through StubHub using PayPal. The tickets were fraudulent. When I arrived I was not admitted entry and was sent to the box office. When I went to the box office the teller explained that the tickets were fake and pointed out they actually had someone else's name on it that I did not notice because I had just pulled them up on site. He explained StubHub are not their authorized seller and that this happened to several other customers that evening. I filed a complaint through my bank and they refunded me the money. However, PayPal said I needed to repay to them and dispute through them, I did and they said that it was an accurate transaction and closed the dispute finding in StubHub's favor. I continued to dispute and they said to dispute through StubHub, however StubHub has also been giving me the runaround saying PayPal has an active chargeback and has found in their favor so they have not refunded.

This has been a nightmare. Literally my mind is blown, that trying to get a solution to this through two supposed reputable companies despite all the proof I have provided including the box office manager's contact information, and they both have caused an undue amount of stress. This is $200 dollars so I cannot just write this off and it's wrong. So wrong to treat a customer in this manner. Imagine the embarrassment when I arrived at venue over an hour from my home, I booked a hotel to see show, and then not admitted entry. It was fortunate the show was not sold out and my friend was able to purchase tickets on the spot. Please assist in getting this resolved.

I purchased an item at the end of January. A few days later I noticed 3 charges for the same amount as the item I had originally purchased. Sure enough PayPal had setup a recurring charge when I had paid for a single item. I have spent the past month going back and forth with them and it has been a nightmare. First they denied any of my claims and said all the charges were authorized and closed my case making all further communication much more difficult as I could not simply utilize their resolution methods as each time I tried I hit a wall because the case was closed.

Finally after a month of going back and forth I have received 2 of the 3 charges back, yet that 3rd amount they are clinging to as if their lives depended upon it. Needless to say I am less than thrilled with my experience and I've been using PayPal for 20+ years without something like this happening. After reading similar stories it would seem PayPal has zero interest in being a reputable company.

I contacted the seller and asked for a refund (no reply) and then contacted PayPal online and initiated a complaint asking for a refund for the "old bait and switch game". I received an automated reply that it would take 1-2 weeks, which was extended several times. I finally contacted my CC Co, which PayPal took offense to and after almost 4 weeks, they claimed they could no longer investigate because my CC Co became involved. If they had done their job in the first place it would not have come to that. They are not looking out for their customers and are no longer a trusted company.

I usually use Venmo, but someone transferred money to one of my personal email addresses using PayPal. I didn't even have a PayPal account but I had to create one. My IP address was in France, so PayPal automatically created a French account even though I used the US site. I can't add a US phone number, bank account, and I can't do anything at all with the money in a French PayPal account. I talked to 2 agents. Both told me completely contradictory things. The only solution I have to is transfer the money to someone else in the US with a paypal account, lose the money from the conversion fees and the transaction, and have the person retransfer the money to me via Venmo. You're welcome, PayPal, for the free handout and the giant waste of time on my part! There is NO reason to use PayPal. It's a dinosaur.

I'm utterly disappointed and frankly infuriated by PayPal's abysmal handling of my recent dispute. It's not just a matter of poor customer service; it's a glaring example of how PayPal chooses to side with shady third-party companies over its loyal customers. Recently, I fell victim to a deceitful company that promised the moon but delivered nothing but disappointment and frustration. Despite following all the necessary steps and providing concrete evidence of the scam, PayPal shockingly decided to favor the fraudulent company. What's even more frustrating is PayPal's so-called "helpdesk" and "dispute team." It's like talking to a brick wall – unresponsive, unhelpful, and utterly useless. They seem to have mastered the art of deflecting responsibility and turning a blind eye to customer grievances.

What's the point of having a dispute resolution system if it only serves as a facade to appease customers while ultimately protecting scammers? It's beyond comprehension and downright infuriating. If you're considering using PayPal for your transactions, I urge you to think twice. Don't be fooled by their facade of security and reliability. When push comes to shove, PayPal will abandon you in favor of lining the pockets of fraudulent companies. In conclusion, PayPal's support is nothing short of a disgrace. They have failed me as a customer, and I have lost not only my hard-earned money but also my trust in their services. Steer clear unless you're willing to risk being scammed and left high and dry by PayPal's disgraceful policies.

In today’s cyber environment, PayPal does not provide any protection and they are no help at trying to resolve an issue. Once I paid the negative amount (3 times due to their math error and exchange rates - one 2 cent payment and another 65 cent payment) I finally was able to close my account. Ridiculous. PayPal has unethically and illegally withheld $5,400 of my money without justification. In October of 2023, I mistakenly reported a $5,400 charge to my credit card through PayPal as fraudulent. While I was still on the phone with my credit card company, I realized my error and informed them that the charge was, in fact, legitimate. However, they insisted that the fraud charge must be investigated which could take up to 90 days. In the meantime, I paid the merchant, Gwinnett Refrigeration, the $5,400 cash from my checking account, also through PayPal. When the credit card company informed me of what I already knew and had informed them, which was that the charge was legitimate, they reinstated the $5,400 to my credit card account. I disputed it based on the fact that the merchant had been paid.

For five months that $5,400 has simply sat on my account accruing interest and not being paid to either the merchant or credited back to my account. For five months, both my credit card company and PayPal pointed fingers, each saying that the other had the money. PayPal had the proof, in the form of my activity summary, that I had paid the merchant in cash through them, and I provided the same proof to the credit card company. Neither corporation has an office where one can go and talk to a person who will give you their name and stand behind what they tell you. So for all those months, I was bounced around from person to person getting different stories.

Finally I was told by PayPal that I had to deal with Gwinnett Refrigeration because the money was in their PayPal account. Gwinnett Refrigeration had called them three times previously and had been told that there was no money in their account, but the fourth time, they were told that the money was there but they had been charged handling fees of $148. Gwinnett Refrigeration was told that $5,252 would be deposited to their account so that they could return it to me. That was ten days ago and the money has yet to be deposited. Today, Gwinnett Refrigeration called PayPal again and was told the money would be deposited by next Tuesday, February 27th. Why do I not believe that? Probably because I no longer believe in Santa Claus.

PayPal's customer service.... Well, there isn't any. These days, it doesn't matter if you contact them through the online resolution center, or by phone; nothing gets resolved. They either don't understand what you're talking about, or you get hung up on. So, today I called them about a double billing on a pay in 4 transaction. And, after fighting with the automated line, so I could actually get a live representative, I was transferred by the first rep to another one. And, after informing her of the issue, I was placed on hold for 8 minutes, and then I was hung up on.

So, after calling back, I basically went through the same process. Except, this time around, I was informed that I could not cancel, or receive a refund, for one of the double billing transactions. And, that "moving forward, on the next scheduled payment" to make sure that my automatic payment is on the financial account that I want it to be on. It was, but I made the payment early on a different financial account, a few hours before the automatic was processed. My bad for thinking that their system would catch that the payment had already been made. With that being said, with non existent customer service, like this, PayPal, and other companies, wonder why they are losing quarterly profits?

And for this, you need to know good English. I didn't have enough English! After calling customer service, we saw that. You need to register with SSN for the card to be active!

My second question is, how can you sell it to everyone and in easily accessible markets like Family Dollar? Don't you need to warn people? I gave the card to a friend of mine who has SSN. He registered but could not use it. We called customer service countless times for about 1 month. Neither the card was activated nor could we receive my money. And even though we sent them the passport information and address information they requested. We couldn't convince them that the card belonged to us. I think PayPal is committing fraud this way. Well, after something like 20+ years I've finally given up on PayPal. PayPal has become the preferred method of receiving money by criminal scammers the world over. My account was never hacked, PayPal has just become a mismanaged joke of a payment processor that seems to be happy with profiting from, and thereby conspiring with, criminals. I've been victimized by multiple scam sellers who PayPal seems perfectly content enabling. It is relatively easy to implement controls to prevent consumers from being robbed. However, it is clear that PayPal values the money they glean from the criminals more than protecting their honest customers.

PayPal's approach to "problem resolution" has become a bizarre type of "not our problem, reach out to the seller" approach. Then, when you do attempt to reach out to the seller using PayPal's guidance, the criminal sellers then sell your information to criminal data brokers who engage in classic robocall scamming. In short: PayPal just needs to shutter its doors. It's so broken at this point that I don't think any rational company would even buy them out. Complete and total disaster of a company.

Closed my account and sold all my PYPL stock...yeah, it's gotten that mismanaged and horrible. Avoid PayPal at all costs. There are many reputable alternative payment processors available that have implemented controls to protect their honest customers. If you're a criminal, then PayPal is for you. However, if you are an honest consumer: Avoid PayPal at all costs. If you own their stock, then you are a fool.

Also whenever a seller scams someone PayPal sides with the seller 100% of the time. There have been times when I refunded things on eBay, but I never received the refund from PayPal, so I had to submit a fraud report to my bank. Whenever I sell things on eBay I get a 13% fee from eBay THEN ANOTHER 4.5% fee from PayPal on whatever I sold. Both of which take money out of the shipping cost as well.

And when Venmo (a company owned by PayPal) wasn’t working I used PayPal to receive money from my aunt for family issues, but it said that the money is “pending” and when I called them they said it would take 3-7 business days to clear, and then it would take another 1-3 business days to go into my bank account if I wanted to transfer it, unless I paid them a fee to transfer it instantly into my account. It’s a complete scam run by liars and frauds. The customer service agent had the most nicest bubbly voice on the other end of the line, but you could tell that she was either being forced to sound that way or she was happy about keeping my money from me. She had an attitude in her voice even though it was bubbly and happy, it was almost robotic in nature, but not in sound.

Then when I put in the system that I wanted a check because they wouldn't verify my bank account, there is no date as to when I will receive the check. All it says is the request was made on the date that I put it in. When I called you have to go through all kinds of changes only to speak to a customer service agent that literally changed the time frame to receive the check 3 TIMES. Microsoft and Ebay need to stop using this poorly function, ridiculous company. They are HORRIBLE!

A PayPal (PP) representative wrote back that PP that I had “made a purchase agreement with the merchant” therefore the charge was “consistent with my purchase history.” Their notice cited some kind of documentation to support the decision. I again informed PP I had never heard of the merchant and had not made a purchase. I requested the “documentation” used in their determination three separate times. It was never provided.

I called customer service, speaking to three different representatives. English was not their primary language and were difficult to understand. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was “accidentally” disconnected. I tried to close my PP account. The app would not process the cancelation saying I had an open dispute case. The app noted zero open cases and one closed case. Called PP again trying to close my account. A representative stated it would be closed ASAP.

I made the foolish decision to use PayPal 4x4 on an online purchase. The item took over a month to be shipped after many times requesting the seller to send it or refund me. The item finally arrived and it was damaged. Looked nothing like what was advertised on the seller's site. I disputed this with PayPal over a month ago. I provided so many photos to PayPal of the damaged item, what was advertised, & communication with the seller telling me that I'll be refunded. ANOTHER month goes by and I still don't have my money. PayPal said they will only refund me if I ship back the damaged item with my own money. I did and provided proof of delivery. They were supposed to give the seller 5 days to reply after delivery, but it's been over 2 weeks now since the item was delivered back to them, and PayPal told me they never heard back from the seller.

I was told different times on the phone that I will be receiving my refund. One time it was the following day, another time it was the same day, another time it was the next week. I recently received another email from PayPal requesting proof of shipping the item back AGAIN. They are finding many different ways to prevent me from getting my money back even though I should have gotten it back as soon as I proved that the item was damaged in the very beginning. Save yourself trouble and just use your actual credit card to fully fund a purchase so you can have better protection than what PayPal falsely promises to provide.

The client claimed I had not provided the promised documents to her. PayPal initially sided with me then changed their decision. I provided copies of the agreement, texts, emails and all other correspondence showing I had provided all necessary docs (same docs I provide every client & never had a problem). PayPal supervisors I spoke with agreed with me.

My correspondence with client showed she even admitted she had received everything & that the dispute was not against me but another person. I tried on several occasions to have the dispute overturned or at the very least re-evaluated and was told by several supervisors they would make it happen. I submitted docs 4 times and never heard a word from them. Now my account is in collections because I refuse to pay for something that was not wrong. And the client who claimed she did not receive the docs, has used the docs to set up her online business, create a personalized email address and opened a bank account. How can you do all this if you did not receive the correct docs? Answer is you can't.

Needless to say, Apple is on top of things and rejected the charges as fraud. I followed their system and filed a complaint with their online message bot. It told me 9-10 days to resolve the issue. In the afternoon, I blocked the recipient and the fake charges stopped for a few hours. Yesteray evening, they resumed in force. I complained again and demanded they stop the fraudulent charges. This morning, I received an email from PayPal stating that they reviewed my case and there was no fraud because I made one legit purchase.

Paypal is supposed to be a payment processor but let's take at look, a few questions, who is paypal's customer me the seller or you the buyer? Both. However as a seller I signed up to make sure the payments get to me. When is the payment processed? Payment is processed once the seller receives their money, paypal will say it's on hold but by definition that means the payment has not been processed. When do they earn their fee? They earn their fee when the payment is processed and delivered to the seller so if they hold your money they are not entitled to payment processing fee until your money is delivered to you.

What does paypal do with your held money? Paypal takes the fees and the money being held and makes structured timed investments based on the time they are holding your money. Is your money insured like in a bank? No. Get your money out. It is at risk.

Paypal has held my payment I receive from the same person, same amount on the same day each month as fraud with no date for release but 180 days. The way I see it they did not earn their fee as well as all interest earned on my money or your money should be given to you as your money was used to earn it. Paypal is not processing payments. They are seizing our money faster than the federal government can, think about that for a moment. I cannot even issue a refund. Their hold message says “We could not process your payment and is being held”. Fee is earned when payment is process but they took the fee and my money and I’m sure there are plenty of others out there.

They are not serving me as a seller or a buyer, their system is set up to take your money, invest it, then give it back to you. Their stock is off 30% year over year, sounds like bankruptcy to me, their business practices no longer work and public is becoming aware of the predatory practices. Paypal, who are you serving? I think you are only serving YOU and not your customers!!! File your complaint at **.

Last week, a PayPal phone call was hacked and I didn't know it until it was too late. I called back to PayPay afterward and reported the incident at the same time my wife was calling both American Express and Wells Fargo Bank.

The next day I received an email from PayPal fraud and was "Gaslighted" by them claiming that nothing was wrong and that my activity was normal. I lost about $4,800.00. I called PayPal once again and was insulted by a young man who continued to claim that there was nothing wrong with these transactions. In my opinion I was robbed by PayPal for using my Canadian Credit card to purchase a 10K plus item on Nov 7th from a US website! Instead of simply entering my credit card info directly to the website I chose the pay with PayPal option. I was unaware that PayPal would then use a US to CDN exchange rate WAY below the average rate that day. Having spoken with Visa, they would have used a rate of 1 CAD = 0.7328 USD and PayPay used 1 CAD = 0.6965 USD. The difference on $10909 US dollars was $642. Had I used my credit card Visa would have charged me $15,028 but PayPay passed on a charge of $15,663.

When my item was fully refunded in US dollars on Nov 25 Visa was using an exchange rate of 1 USD = 1.3591 CAD for $14,988 BUT PayPal used 1 USD = 1.3645 CAD for $14,827. The resulting difference of $61 when added to the $643 that I was added at the time of my purchase resulted in me owing $704 CAD to visa for an item that I don’t even have anymore. This is the result of my poor choice to use PayPal instead of just using my Visa Card direct. I have now unlinked all my of credit cards from my PayPal account and will never use PayPal to pay for ANYTHING ever again. I had an issue with a foreign company called www.freelancer.com and I had proof that I did not receive service as promised, in fact, I received no drafted documents of my floor plans ordered. I disputed the charge and PayPal sided with the seller. $800 gone. I will never use PayPal again.

How are you even staying in business in this fast world of mobile banking. How is this even legal. PAYPAL HAS BECOME A SCAM. They have consistently put through transactions that I have told them multiple times are not valid but they kept putting them through. Then someone hijacked my account and transferred $100 from my account into theirs, and PayPal has been dragging their feet in rectifying the situation. Now they have frozen my account because of suspicious activity that I am the victim of. I am so done with them. Do not use them. They are terrible.

What's worse is that this order is for a customer who has purchased 10x. Because this is a custom order, it's important to process payment fast. And fast shipment. My business also deserves to be paid quickly as well. Account will be canceled as soon as this payment clears.

Nothing. I immediately contacted the seller and FedEx. I opened missing package cases with eBay and FedEx. After a week I opened a case with PayPal. Today 10/21 I received notification that PayPal sided with the seller. I did everything I was supposed to do. Ordered, paid, waited, reported, updated and nothing. The bike obviously went somewhere but not to me. I’m sickened. Long history of using PayPal and eBay with zero issues yet no one believes me. I’m 53, single father, small business owner. I am a functional medicine physician. I provide both primary care and adjunctive care in my clinic. This includes nutraceutical IV therapy, hyperbaric therapy, supplements, ozone therapy etc. We focus on chronic fatigue, environmental medicine, and tickborne illness. My patient population is fragile. Every 30 to 45 days Paypal locks up my account and wants me to "prove" that I am not engaged in fraudulent activity. I have sent them copies of my medical license, my DEA license, paid invoices, and my driver's license. They claim that the trigger for these lockdowns are the Health Savings Account Cards which have to be manually entered into their Zettle platform as Zettle does not offer magnetic strip readers only chip readers. Every time they unlock my account they apologize and inform me that they will do all in their power to stop this from happening. They claim they are accelerating it to management - blah blah blah. It is all lies.

This week during the weekend I received another message that my account had been shut down - again. Just thirty days from the previous shutdown. This time I was notified that my business was in violation of an acceptable use policy. Here is the quote "A recent review of your account activity identified products/services on your website violate PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy." This rather funny as I don't have a website that sells products. When I called and pointed this out they informed me it was boilerplate language and did not mean what it said. So what does it mean I asked, because words have meaning. I was informed that a product I sold in my clinic violated their terms. When pressed I was informed that the 5% ** IV bags which are line itemed on my bills along with Phosphatidyl Choline and glutathione (both IV nutraceuticals) were in violation of their terms.

When I pressed the woman to explain why IV solutions which I am licensed to dispense as a doctor and are not even controlled substances were in violation she could not answer me. When I pressed her to tell me what she thought I was selling she could not even tell me what ** was. What an idiot. Save yourself pain and idiocy. As soon as I can get my money free of their clutches I will never do business with them again. For the record, I have never had a chargeback. This whole week we have patients attempting to get care and we can't even effectively operate our clinic as they have shut down our credit card processing ability. Dr B

While reading through their response to my latest CFPB complaint, I saw that they alleged that I had sent them a fraudulent passport image with an "inconsistent" date of birth. Given that this is the exact same passport I've used to cross borders a dozen times, that's complete nonsense. Apparently, they reached this conclusion because they found someone else with a similar name on a people search engine. If what they said is true, then this was remarkably unprofessional. They have caused me no end of harm because of their unwillingness to follow through.

Hi, I had someone who got into my account and created a subscription. On October 3, 2023 this scammer was able to take $220 from my account, and I reported the problem right away to PayPal. While I was on the phone talking the customer service and being convinced that PayPal guarantees your money and investigates cases, we got disconnected. I called right away, but I was told that customer service is closed for the day. Five minutes after this happened, I received three emails that my case is closed and they think that the transaction was in good standing.

I opened my PayPal, and I saw that the case is still pending, so I called my bank and they tried to stop the transaction and remove my bank information. Apparently, I assumed that the scammer was creating this emails which looked like they are from PayPal. I waited two days and sign in again, and for my surprise I saw them asking me to pay them $220 otherwise they will send me to collection. These people did not investigate like usual. They were proceeding in cases like this reaching to the person behind the transaction. This was really suspicious to me and closed the case right away. I called today again, and they had no way to explain to me what happened and why they did what they did. The only thing I was hearing was that case is closed. I am very disappointed from them, and I think that no one should use their service no more. They support criminals who hack accounts and steal money.

Do not use Paypal to send money to friends or family. I attempted to send a small amount of money to someone who was not in the system, but I did have her phone number. I was worried about the transaction, so I checked the phone number at least three times prior to sending it. Despite my precautions, I received notice that I sent money to someone I did not even know. There is no way to stop the transfer at that point. Paypal could easily ask for a confirmation about to whom the money is being sent but does not. It allows for the perfect crime. If someone at Paypal is directly money to their friends and family, you have no recourse. They will not even investigate what may have gone wrong. Thus, do not use this company. Who knows what other dishonesty is going on with this company? I am done using them for any transaction. I am sticking to Zelle for cash transfers and using my credit card directly for payments from now on.

My family have used PayPal to send money back and forth for years. All of a sudden I’m getting messages that there was a dispute for 2 transactions sent to me from my mother. I contacted PayPal and was told that the other party has a dispute going and that if the other party does not respond in 21 days this will close. I contacted my mother right away. My mother told me that she has not made any disputes and immediately contacted the credit union she uses. There she was told that there are no disputes on her account for this year 2023 and as far as 1 year ago. None. My contacted PayPal and on speaker phone the rep is telling us that she has a dispute going and until this is cancelled it will stay. My mother went in person to her credit union to have them check again, to find there were no disputes going.

I contacted PayPal after 21 days however it’s still showing that I need to pay $858 dollars before I can use the account and it’s been 3 months. I contacted PayPal again and asked them to close the account however I was told that they cannot close the account and no changes can be made until the amount is paid. So I can no longer use PayPal to transfer money to anyone and it’s terrible because I trusted PayPal for many years. 1 other issue is that Random people will send you something asking for payments but it will appear as though you already have it set up for an automatic transfer to that party. Don’t be next being hacked by PayPal because PayPal customer Service is terrible with helping their account users. They will not help you.

I hope one day they realize how horribly they have treated their most vulnerable customers that rely on them to live and get by, and to keep their lights on for their beloved businesses.

I did not receive a package, the seller chose to ship via UPS ShipStation which is a subpar service that gives the package to the USPS (post office) for the final leg of the delivery. Package was delivered to a house that is obviously not mine as shown in the “proof of delivery” photo on the UPS tracking website. I submitted screenshots of the home where the package was delivered, as well as a photo of my home and it’s night and day - not the same house.

However less than 5 minutes after the seller put the tracking number in the complaint for the case - PayPal closed it in the seller’s favor. It was obvious that they didn’t even look at my photos - by default just because the seller provided a tracking number - it was closed as delivered. Never mind that I submitted photos obviously showing the delivery location was not my home. So the case was closed - I can only reopen it if I classify it as a different problem. I cannot claim that I still don’t have it - even though I still don’t have it. (Biggest problem here. Decided for the seller, but buyer still doesn’t have the item.)

I’ve been with PayPal since 2004. Nearly 20 years. And I’ve only had to open one other case this whole time. I’m beyond disgusted how they handled this. I have PayPal credit card too. Gonna go to competitors and cancel the card. I don’t care how many cases your employees have to handle - you don’t treat a 19 year customer like this - closing a case within minutes because the seller provided a tracking number that shows delivered - and I told you that I didn’t get that package.

I provided the following information; a copy of the receipt, a picture of the item in comparison to another item to show it was not as described, and the information for the real item that the seller copied/imitated. This was not good enough and PayPal denied my request for a refund three times because they could not find the original listing for the item as the seller pulled it down when I filed the dispute. On top of this, the last person I spoke with from PayPal customer support was extremely rude and unhelpful. Apparently on top of the information I already provided I needed the listing of the item too. This is a MASSIVE flaw in Paypal's system that this seller was aware of and took advantage of. Until PayPal fixes this I highly recommend using a different payment company.

Fur Babies Rescue is a very small domestic animal rescue in Hickory, NC. 100% of all funds received into the rescue are used to make the lives of domestic animals better. This is an organization run by volunteers. No one takes a salary or receives any financial compensation. All of our volunteers are local professionals working together to make our community better.

Fur Babies Rescue had used PayPal to accept donations and also use it for a fundraising tool. We found out the hard way that PayPal can freeze an account and hold the money for 180 days. The account was frozen and now PayPal has control of $1,693.22 of the rescue’s funds. Those funds were going to help spay/neuter and vaccinate approximately 20 animals in need. We had to cancel the trip to the spay clinic that was scheduled for September 20, 2023.

We should have done our homework before signing up to use PayPal. If you Google “PayPal froze my account” you will find many horror stories and lawsuits because PayPal froze accounts. There isn’t an easy way to dispute the account freeze or get help from PayPal. If we were a larger group with national support we could possibly fight it but we are just a small group of volunteers. We will have to work harder to raise more money and hope we get that money back from PayPal at the end of the 180 days.

This is not the way to treat a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit. I hope others learn about this issue and protect their money from PayPal.
