Ordered a product on June 21st, which I paid for via PayPal. Filed a claim with Paypal on July 4th for not receiving the product, after failed attempts to contact the vendor (Vendor website no longer available). Vendor provided Paypal with bogus tracking number for a package that was sent to a different address, and was for a product which weighed significantly less than the product ordered. Requested Paypal to obtain a copy of shipping label from seller showing tracking number, but to date, August 5th, that has not been obtained that I'm aware of. And PayPal just keeps moving out the resolution date on the claim, now supposedly it is 8/10. Buyer beware, Paypal Protection is a joke.

I feel like PayPal is a scam and is in with the people or companies to steal. You buy with PayPal it's suppose to be protected but they charge you soon as you put in the order. You don’t get a tracking number or anything then they are unreachable, you end up losing your money or disputing with your bank to try and get your money back. They are thieves.

Ordered pair of pants, shorts and one pair of shoes from TIG Quality Life for $86.00. Received two pairs of pants and shorts, no shoes. Clothing did not fit so asked for a refund. Rip off merchant only offered $30.00 compensation and to keep the merchandise. Filed dispute with PayPal and their only resolution was a full refund but I had to return the merchandise. Merchant is in China and shipping charges would have been over $45.00. I will never use PayPal again and don't recommend anyone using them too. Ended up disputing charge with my bank.

We ordered a 2004 Highlander Sun Visor from eBay processed through newcarparts.com, never received it, canceled the order, a refund was processed by newcarparts.com, but since PayPal handled the financial transaction, the refund had to come from them. I disputed the transaction with Discover Credit Card and they have had the dispute for over a month and PayPal has yet to process the refund. I will no longer deal with eBay because of their use of PayPal and definitely I would not have anything to do with PayPal! A word of warning to future buyers dealing with eBay and PayPal.

Worst company to deal with. They are in business with a bunch of scam companies. They take your money you get NOTHING. You are out your money and they continue to allow these scam companies to keep doing this. This company have almost 400 complaints in the past few months of the EXACT same thing happening. You order an item that is large my case was a bike. They send a pair of socks or some piece of plastic. They track it and it always says left in your mail box. Since my mailbox is 2 inches by 2 inches NO bike could fit. But Paypal ruled with this company and they get to keep my money. They refuse to let me cancel my account. They refuse to let me take my bank account off their site.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! PayPal credit is a proper fraud. I have paid back my balance in full but had to return the goods for refund. Guess what, my balance is not only over agreed limit now but I CANNOT MAKE A TRANSFER TO ANY OF MY ACCOUNTS/CARDS USING MY CREDIT FUNDS! SHOCKING. They have been holding back my refund as a ransom and I am £429 down thanks to PayPal Credit! I also cannot make a payment using paypal credit as this option is not available to all merchants. So here I am stuck without my refund and can not use my positive balance credit funds. Honestly, every credit card provider lets make a overheads balance transfer, yet PayPal will RIP YOU OFF big time. What a fraudulent scheme that is!

I ordered items using PayPal which totaled $200+ and it never came. Found out it was coming from China and they were delayed because of slow shipping during the pandemic. Did a claim and was given a contact point from paypal. Conversations were all done on paypal claim page. Seller even told me to escalate the claim. I did and provided all info from conversations from seller. Was told by paypal that they would contact me if more info was needed. The only message was that they were waiting to hear from seller. They never contacted me nor heard from the seller but closed my case. Now they are not answering calls or emails. They knew this was a bogus company and took my money. They are probably working with these bogus companies and keeping monies.

I have been in contact with the company for months now and they keep telling me paypal is issuing me a credit. Now I will be seeking legal action against both. Covid is not an excuse for 4 months of no customer service and some automated system determining I owe the money. Attached are copies of my dispute being denied again because for some reason paypal thinks the item shipped. If you notice in the shipping notice it says the package shipped was 4 pounds. The item I ordered that I didn’t receive is 25 pounds. Don’t believe me paypal well the shipping notice doesn’t lie!!!

I paid for an order from Just Fashion Now through PayPal. Just Fashion Now ended up being a company that scams people by not sending what is on their website. I asked Paypal to make them pay the shipping of the items because they deliberately deceived me as the buyer. Just Fashion Now doesn't tell you upfront that you have to send the order back to China. They send you mock (trash) items instead of what they have listed, then when you try to send it back they tell you you have to ship it back to China. It ends up costing the buyer more to ship the order back than it's worth.

I asked Paypal to make the company pay the shipping back because they were scamming people. PayPal granted me the refund (which wasn't the issue, I would have got that anyway) it was that the company should have to send me a prepaid label and pay for shipping because of deceiving the public. PayPal stands behind companies like this when they don't take a stand to make companies responsible for shipping when they deliberately deceive consumers. PayPal is as bad as this company. I am now stuck with trash because I used PayPal to purchase the items thinking PayPal was a good and honest company. They are not!!!

Abysmal would be a compliment. I made an online purchase using PayPal. Paypal never made a record of my purchase in my account, or of the fact that I never received it, or of the fact that the account transaction was placed into collections. This is very dangerous. I reached out to PayPal on several occasions and my case was automatically dismissed by a bot.

I have been forced to pay for an item that I never received, to stop the balance from going to collections. Paypal would not delay the account going to collections during my dispute of the transaction. It turned out the item was stolen, and I was left holding the bag. FYI - the Better Business Bureau is filled with 100s of complaints from PayPal customers about being asked to pay for items they never received and over 2,000 billing/collections complaints.

PayPal is the worse company I've ever dealt with. They say you need to build history with them. I've never had a charge back with them, have a perfect history and they continue to hold funds for 21 days. There have been occasions that they've held my money for 280 days. YES you read that right 280 days!

I messaged about a transaction and they said, yes again, they will be hold my funds until August 22nd. They don't offer phone support (COVID-19 related). I sent a message 4 days ago and still have yet to get a response to my questions. I would strongly recommend companies find a different solution for payment processing. PayPal doesn't care about their customers, their customer service is one of the worse in the business and they routinely just create additional reasons to hold your money. You will get a different reason each time you speak with a "customer care" rep. Please don't trust PayPal.

I truly am at a loss for words. On June 1 I ordered a product from a merchant, which was in India. When I receive this package, it was not a suit, it was a little tiny T-shirt. Absolutely a joke. The seller, who I had been texting back-and-forth prior to receiving I was not so friendly. He refused to refund, and therefore I started my dispute with PayPal. Although I know he does not want this ridiculous product back, I went ahead and paid the exorbitant & out to ship it back to him. The shipping office said it could take 2 to 3 months to get there. The merchant does not even respond to me anymore and I do not even believe they are in business.

I am getting nowhere with PayPal so I put it on Twitter to which they replied. After going back-and-forth repeating the scenario and showing them the tracking information. This last agent proceeds to tell me that the merchant has to accept it, no matter the timeframe, and I asked what if he just refuses to accept it? And the answer was, "We have a process, we cannot share it however, that we will do at that point."

Now I am a military veteran and I had a top-secret clearance, so I'm quite sure that I can handle what that process might be. However, by the multitude of complaints on BBB I'm not very optimistic. This was a complete scam, and if it was $20 I would forget it. I need the money Back, as I am disabled, and a family member has Covid to which I would like to go down and visit. I do not see why I would need to wait for five or eight months for a possible refund until this mystery process could get started. This was escalated to PayPal on June 20. Up until I put you on Twitter, I did not even receive a response. The agents that are replying to me, not to be rude but just need to stop. Because what they are stating it's not even a possibility that that is how a company would run. I am asking for a full refund, As a consumer. To rely on some shady vendor who is no longer in business to except something back that he does not even want is not the answer.

The problem is that buyer has demanded the hold be released and has offered to contact PayPal or do what it takes to release the hold. PayPal has literally said "it's out of my hands" and has refused to provide a way for the buyer to have the hold released and deposited to my account. I believe PayPal trades on the held money like banks do and that's why they hold it - it isn't for anyone's protection because in this case both the buyer and seller want the hold released and PayPal refuses. CORRUPT COMPANY - DO NOT USE or you risk your money being held for 3 weeks for no reason!

They immediately put the funds into the account, they are buying these items at a fifty percent discount so of course they responded quickly, I in turn immediately shipped the item same day, 5 days go by buyer signs for the recipient of package, I then get a notification from PayPal they are putting a hold on my payment, I needed to provide a Identification/driveR license, passport, ok no problem except their web site will not work and I can’t upload my ID, contact PayPal through their message center, they responded days later, ok now that’s resolved.

What next? Provide Tracking information. Ok provide the required info, now what? No hold released, they say they still need tracking information, go to enter tracking info and get a page saying there already that tracking information, don’t answer the phone. Disconnected 7 times over. Their message center sucks and they have a couple thousand dollars of mine, I think it’s time to sue them in small claims court to make them have to send agent. I have been a member of Paypal for years and always use them when purchasing anything online. They used to always stand behind the customer and went above and beyond whenever necessary. I almost felt like I had a "shopping lawyer" to help me obtain the products and service for which we paid. Over the past year I have had two different issues with companies overseas, where I feel I need Paypal's support the most, and it appears Paypal service is not worthy of their customer's business any longer.

Last year I purchased clothes, they were not only horrible quality but the sizes were more than two sizes too small. Paypal sided with the seller. Most recently, I placed an order and ordered two "dog ramps", a medium and a large. I received two mediums and I must send the second one back to have my money refunded. To send back to the seller it is over $80 and my original purchase was under that amount. Yesterday the supervisor just repeatedly told me that the policy of Paypal is for the buyer to return item and since I did not provide shipping information the case is closed and they sided with the seller. For an item I never even ordered!! So sad as I used to always feel good about making my purchase with Paypal, I hope one of the other companies becomes more widely used because I will leave Paypal without question.

As I mentioned we are doing business overseas, the first issue we ran into is the money we received from our customers had been on hold. Since my past experiences with PayPal, I know as a new account we will need to go through what we called PayPal red tapes. In the past, one phone call with PayPal, I would get my fund released within 3 days. Then, I made the first phone call, there was no Live agent on call so I have to use message center. I spent countless time to send message back and forth and those messages are just useless.

2nd issue arrived when we are able to get adding money into our PayPal account. Guess what?! The Debit Mastercard issued by Paypal could not link with PayPal account! Later PayPal replied that account already has linked and also activated. When we tried to get cash then the card can't withdraw cash! It has been our 2nd day so we have decided to refund our customers to find other money resources or ask them to send in other ways. Yes, in marketplace 1% of transfer rate is very attractive package when others cash APP offer 3%! We are all in crisis for COVID-19, small business owners like us we can't wait for any more delay! PayPal's site system is just very unstable and offer no any explanations. We have compassion but we also need to survive too. We hope we will get Live Agent from PayPal very soon!

They just want to run you in circles - "We’ve placed the money on hold because we believe this transaction may involve a higher than usual risk." There are a lot of messages on the seller community boards in the last couple weeks of this happening to many sellers on Ebay.

Ask PayPal why? "PayPal is following a common industry practice to help ensure a safe environment for both buyers and sellers." They never have before. I’ve had separate June and July sales of $615, $952, $1,804. Never had any holds on these, all in the same category. Why now? I have 100% positive feedback, no customer disputes, good seller record. Seems like PayPal might need a float on other people's money to pay their obligations. I found in their financial reports that they increased their debt over 298.55% in the last year ending March, 2020. Now with businesses closing up, is the Piper knocking at their door?

Well dear business owner, if you're getting more sales, that is deemed as abnormal to Paypal. Expect them to hold your money for an indefinite amount of time, and release it whenever they please. In addition, they will limit your account so you won't be able to transfer money, send money, and etc. Absolute trash.

Here was my issue: I was in contact with customer service yesterday evening and we had a conversation about the steps I took and the additional steps to make to resolve my account limitation. The next day in less than 24 hours my account was immediately closed. Was I not aware to provide of a time constraint? And PLUS I went to "Messages" to reference my conversation with customer service but it seems it was deleted immediately... I recall that the agent requested to contact eBay because I had refunded the customers that PayPal was asking to provide tracking numbers for.

Some were refunded and the rest I emailed eBay shortly about the refund in eBay not reflecting on PayPal. After all this mess up, you hope to expect a human being to respond to you but nope. It's all automated messages, and I didn't get a reply 3-4 days later. It's really frightening that they have this much control and unprofessionalism. I'd give them a -10 review. Dear business owner, save your time and money.

I purchased an item online at BestBuy and paid for it with PayPal. The item was defective and I returned it via mail. BestBuy completed the return and sent me an electronic receipt. This was over a month ago. I have still not received credit to my PayPal account nor the credit card. I reached out to PayPal several times to no avail. I eventually made a complaint through my credit card company. As soon as I did that PayPal locked my account. Ridiculous! Do not use this company if you can avoid it.

I am extremely upset with PayPal. They are supposed to be taking care of their customers by handling situations to the fullest extent & on 2 occasions, I have YET to see this. This "Trading" company charged us $100 for a large playground slide that we ordered well over a month ago. So at this point my husband & I contacted Paypal concerned because we hadn't received any tracking number, messaged the seller and no response from them, went to this seller's website from where we purchased and they had suddenly removed this website completely and no package has been delivered. We contacted Paypal in high hopes that they would go above and beyond for us and help us. Here is the deal, I have every delivery company connected to all emails I use, meaning that whenever there's a shipment coming in, I get updated in notifications no matter who is delivering. This was not the case.

Once we contacted Paypal they somehow got in touch with the seller (although to this day we still cannot, even via email) the seller gives off a tracking number that all of a sudden was delivered. However, Get This!! You click on the tracking number and our address does not come up at all. All that comes up is USPS delivered to our area and zip code. Interestingly enough, we took this printed paper off to USPS and had them investigate and this scammer company HUA FENG TRADING INC. took someone in our area's Amazon packages tracking number (don't ask me how a scammer does that) for a 6oz delivered product to a house in my area. Six Ounces!! Please tell me why PayPal will not investigate this matter? This is $100 of our money during one of the worst times in our economy & we are trying to keep our children from being stuck inside all day by building them a playhouse with a slide.

My husband just so happened to find this slide for $100 and was scammed and what is worse is that PayPal allowed it. Not once, but also found out my co-worker was scammed and thought that if she paid through Paypal, that if in fact it was a scam that PayPal would help her. NOPE! Paypal sided with the scammers there too! I am livid!!! If I can save anyone else from fraud & any kind of scamming: Do not trust Paypal. We are canceling all of our accounts with them. No more credit cards, no more business with Paypal. I have a family attorney who I am thankful does not charge us for handling matters like these, and even though it's only $100, it's the principle of the matter. You help your customers especially when they have hands on proof. If you know what is best for you, stay away from Paypal!!!! If I knew any better I'd say they are a part of the scamming. It's so sad.

Then they had him with a negative balance (which was wrong) and applied the $6 to his negative balance. So they stole $100.00 from my nephew and I lost $6.00 on this transaction. PayPal sucks. I’ll never use PayPal again and you can bet I will give PayPal a very negative review to everyone I see! I want my $6.00 back and my nephew wants his $100.00 back that I never got. When I went through PayPal’s Resolution Center seeking a credit, I was told to give the order more time to arrive. My expectation was that I would receive a credit and PayPal would discontinue its service to this vendor. On May 7th 2020 I received through Facebook an advertisement that was for a small foldable garden seat, it was priced at US$15.99 plus 6.99 delivery, steel legs and a durable web-like structure, only offered through PayPal. I purchased this item paying the total amount in Canadian dollars for $33.56. After almost two months I received by Canada Post an item that was 8" X 8" and was composed of one foldable piece of fabric with two pockets, no steel legs, and something that you could pick up in any store for around $2.00. The address from the sender was in Markham Ontario and it was sent by Expedited Parcel.

I disputed this with Pay Pal and this started a series of back and forward communication with the seller, who finally agreed to provide me with a full refund IF I was to send it back to Hong Kong China. The local Post Office indicated that this would cost me $20 to send this parcel, which is about $18.00 more than it was worth, and after they received it, they would reimburse me the full amount of US15.99 (C$22.00), so I would spend an additional C$20 for a total of C$53.56 only to receive C$22.00 back, and this is from a scammer that, in my view, is using PayPal for fraudulent purposes.

Pay Pal through a number of messages will not agree that this seller is what I think they are, and insists that this transaction is similar to one that you bring the item back to the local store for a full refund. Where do they get their employees from? How could that be any further from reality? I would be very careful on using PayPal for any major purchases if this resolution is any example of how they rate their sellers.

I think Paypal should provide access to themselves for Paypal payment issues without having to join and that they should perform better verification of the authenticity of the providers they support. Both were for $99.00, which was the cost of the sewing machine. Since they were pending, I thought no problem, I will just put in a dispute and they will be stopped. WRONG. I could not put in anything against either in Resolution Center. The seller reauthorized the one for construction, and PayPal paid them $113.

The second one for shoes is still in pending, but PayPal will not let me dispute it. There is no one to talk to, I tried 2 different phone numbers which took me through computerized options, with no option to speak to a real person. I uploaded the tracking information provided by the seller. The lightweight package was delivered to my mailbox 6 days BEFORE I placed the order. Did that matter to PayPal???? It meant nothing. I have contacted my bank, and they are going to try and get the $113 back, and they have placed PayPal on a do not pay list so I cannot be charged for the pending authorization for shoes. I sit here shaking my head in disbelief that this could happen. No more PayPal for me. We are in a time where it is hard to determine if a website is real or not. Anisew looks totally legit. We promptly declined and refunded the sales in March, within minutes of the bogus purchases. Because this happened, PayPal "limited" (completely froze is actually the correct phraseology) our account. We have sent everything that we could as requested, but no contact from Paypal, no attempt at resolution, and despite our business and a majority of other companies making adjustments to ensure that our business is running on fleek, months after the hysteria set in, Paypal has made no attempt to have customer service phone lines available to businesses (WHAT?).

So here our company is, 4 months later, and this monstrosity of a monopoly has basically stolen our money indefinitely. All over bogus product sales that we IMMEDIATELY dealt with. So I filed a dispute with PayPal hoping that they would stand by me.

Out of the four items I ordered, I only received two, and it took two and a half months to get them. Within another month they closed the case without even contacting me. I am so upset with them. I thought that they would stand by their customers, but I was wrong. Paypal Buyer Protection says they will refund you if you receive a wrong item or a counterfeit item, or other reasons; they do say it is subject to terms which if you click to read those terms say it is 'up to Paypal's discretion' and you 'MAY' be required to return the item. I got a wrong item AND it was counterfeit. Submit for a refund under Buyer Protection, was told I had to return the item to get a refund.

#1. USPS does not allow you mail counterfeit goods. Neither does DHL. UPS doesn't allow shipping anything that violates laws. The Trademark Counterfeiting Act of 1984, 18 U.S. Code Section 2320 specifies that "Whoever intentionally traffics in goods or services and knowingly uses a counterfeit mark on or in connection with such goods and services.... (b) Penalties...shall be fined not more than $2,000,000 or imprisoned for not more than 10 years.

#2. It was not my fault the seller sent the wrong (and counterfeit) item, yet PayPal doesn't want to hold them responsible at all; they want me to spend $75+ to get a $89 refund. Despite their terms being 'general', they are perfectly content with the undue burden on the honest buyer.

When I told them it was illegal and USPS doesn't allow it, they told me it is not illegal and to find a service that does allow it. Avoid using PayPal; your purchase is NOT protected and if you have to use PayPal, make 100% sure you use a credit card so you can do a chargeback with your card company because if you use your Paypal funds, you are out of luck. They do not care about you and they support their scam sellers because they know most people will throw their hands up and toss in the towel when told they have to send back the goods at their cost.

Used PayPal to pay for a Pack N Play playpen that was advertised through Facebook. After making the purchase, realized that the customer service email for the company went to a personal email address for an individual. Didn't seem right, so emailed the customer service email to cancel our order, texted at the number provided, and filed to cancel the order through the seller's website. Also filed a dispute with PayPal. Did all of this within an hour of ordering the product.

Heard nothing from the seller. Six days later, PayPal denied our payment dispute and submitted us a USPS Tracking Number showing the product was delivered. We did not receive any product. Tracking number states it was delivered "in or at the mailbox at 3:15pm." Our mailbox is part of a community mailbox, and the slot for delivering mail is about 3" x 8", making it impossible for a baby play pen to be delivered at the mailbox. When orders are delivered to the door, USPS notes as such. No order was delivered to my door, and I work from home with my office window facing my front door. I received nothing. Not to mention, I'd canceled the order anyway.

Went to call PayPal at their customer service number (1.888. 221.1161), and the prompts lead to the automated service asking you to say or type in the last four # of your SSN. Used two different phones to both say and type in last 3 SSN numbers, and the prompt repeatedly asked us to enter in the last 4 numbers, feigning that it couldn't hear us. This makes it impossible to speak to a customer service representative with PayPal. It is much, much easier for PayPal to collude with illegitimate business and steal the broker fee from you than it is for them to go through the trouble of speaking to you and having to give you your money back.

Paypal never sent the refund, and kept the money instead. I have spent more than a year trying to get Paypal to deal with this. I have spent over a year with Paypal stalling, ignoring, insulting and lying to me. They always claim ignorance and claim they can't find anything in the records about it, until I show them Paypal's own records which confirm everything I have said. Then the wild lies start.

They claim a wide variety of conflicting things, including a claim that Paypal actually has "secret" records which are the true records, and the records provided to the customers are all false. My personal favorite lie was when the Paypal representative said they hadn't sent the refund because the person to receive the refund has "insufficient funds" in his account...huh? How much does he have to have in his account to receive money from me?? And the representative still didn't seem to think Paypal would need to return the money to me in that case. The seller contacted them back immediately even though they ignored my emails. They finally provided tracking information that I had trouble utilizing. The period for missing items is 20 days, PayPal gave them 40 days.

On May 1, I finally got my package only to find it was an off-brand of what I ordered. I was lied to and scammed. There is no way what I ordered was worth $45.80. What I received was not what was described in the photos or description of the product. I first contacted the seller and then I contacted PayPal. PayPal answered first, asking me for information about the situation and changing my dispute from not arrived to significantly not as described. The seller then also asked for information about the package. They tried to get me to deal with a partial refund and I keep the package. They first offered me 10% of what I originally paid, which is like $5, then they went up to 30% and said that was the highest they were willing to go. I rejected their offer. Then PayPal messaged me stating that I was offered a refund for a dissatisfied item, like they forgot this company scammed me.

In order to get the refund, I needed to return the item. I was responsible for the shipping cost. They gave me about two weeks, but never gave me an address. I contacted the seller for an address; they ignored me. I contacted PayPal; it took them almost a whole week. They finally gave me an address and I had a week to send the package back. I had to send it back to Hong Kong. The lowest price I could get was $70. I tried to get into contact with PayPal but their site was experiencing issues (note that I was only able to contact PayPal through a messaging app on their site because they cancelled their phone lines due to the virus).

On June 7, they sent me an email denying my case. I tried speaking with a representative to tell them my issue. After about 9 hours, they contacted me back explaining that there was nothing that could be done. Turns out the company didn't exist and a deeper search revealed it was a scam website from China. Within 5 minutes after I made the purchase I tried to cancel the order and or get a refund. I tried calling but the phone number was bogus. Then I went down the long and deep rabbit hole with the PayPal resolution center. I chatted with various agents and nothing ever got resolved. 4 weeks later I got an email from PayPal saying my claim was denied because they contacted the seller and the item has been shipped with tracking number.

I managed to get the claim reopened because I provided so much proof the company is a fraud and I'm likely never get the camera lens. 10 weeks went by and today I got an email from PayPal that said claim denied because item has been delivered. Sure enough there was a small package with tracking number on the packing slip. Description of contents: handkerchief. Inside was just a mask. I've attempted to reopen the case and or speak to someone but now I know that will never happen. PayPal has no buyer protection. Money lost. Lesson learned. I’ve decided PayPal’s seductive ease of use is no longer worth the hassles of dealing with a company that is decidedly NOT consumer-friendly. Awhile back, I filed a complaint because I’d been billed twice for a software download that never loaded. PayPal did nothing; I finally had to get my credit card to refuse the bill. More recently, I noticed a charge on my PayPal statement for a political donation I didn’t recognize. Nor did that charge appear on the statement to the organization to which I’d allegedly contributed. What does that look like to you?

To me it looked as if someone might be making unauthorized charges against my account, so I filed another complaint. Surprisingly, PayPal resolved this one overnight: they rejected my complaint without offering any grounds. I asked for the documentation that supposedly backed their decision, an option PayPal offers. I’m still waiting for that documentation. PayPal also keeps notifying me that my credit card has expired, which it hasn’t. When I tried to correct this in their “Wallet” section, it refused to make a change.

I don’t believe in three strikes: there are too many inexplicable errors here and no way to get to an actual human being to correct them. PayPal’s website makes very narrow assumptions about the types of problems its customers may have — and none of those includes errors on its part. It’s time for a competitor to step up and this time get it right. Until that happens, I’m ditching PayPal.

When I became aware of the fraudulent charges, I immediately contacted PayPal and file a dispute. PayPal says wait 20 days, which I did. On the 20th day I contacted PayPal as I was told to do so. PayPal now tells me the cases have been resolved/Closed... "because I did not provide documentation and information. I've been a long-time user of Paypal and was basically satisfied up until recently. I'd now rate them a minus ninety if it were an option. On three recent PayPal purchases, UPS confirmed the raging scam that PayPal readily supports and encourages FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY by looking the other way and ignoring the huge seller merchandise mailing scam. According to UPS, all three tracking numbers provided by the fraudulent sellers to Paypal regarding my purchases where previously used UPS tracking numbers by a different vendor and sent to a different name and address than mine on a different date. PayPal knows about this scam and does absolutely nothing about it!!!! The fraudulent sellers are not required to provide any proof on the actual UPS tracking number to PayPal; they just fill in totally false information.

Fraudulent PayPal believes the information provided by fraudulent sellers and not the customers or UPS. They do nothing to investigate...Just hit the deny button. Absolutely no customer service available. These criminals know that PayPal has no system for verifying tracking numbers and that UPS or USPS typically will not give out the address where the package actually went due to privacy issues. However, UPS will confirm that the package(s) did not go to your name and address and that the package was mailed on a different date by a different vendor in contrast to the PayPal records.

The credit card companies believe Paypal's fraudulent system in which the criminal enters in the fake shipping information. Paypal provides the fake tracking numbers to the credit card companies investigating the claim. Then the credit card companies deny the claim with fake information provided by Paypal. The absolute perfect vehicle for fraudulent sellers is 100% PAYPAL. Don't purchase anything via Paypal unless you really want to be scammed and lose your money!!

Got email confirmation from PayPal with seller's email address and tracking nr. My item was in China‘s post office for a month. Finally I get email from USPS telling me my package arrived to one of their facility. Great. My package got deliver in Orland Park and I live in Elgin so I contacted USPS and they told me to contact my seller because that tracking nr belongs to the customer in Orland Park.

I contact PayPal, sent them all the emails, all the proof I had and requested seller to pay me back. 3 days later PayPal cancels my request because they can’t find proof of transaction???? I took a screenshot of my statement circled the transaction which it says PayPal ( jerebishop....) 98.95$. Again sent the emails from PayPal with the confirmation they sent me and the USPS emails how they were looking into my claim for the tracking nr and what they found. Not enough. They Don’t Care. Do not use PayPal! If for any reason you should need a refund and you use a Debit card they will keep your money for up to 30 days. I sent my son money and his account was closed so he sent me a refund which immediately showed up on my Paypal account. So I sent him another $200 dollars which was immediately taken out of my account while PayPal continued to hold back the refund of the original money I sent my son.

It took me 2 hours of trying to contact a human being (of which there appear to be none) and finally got an automated response telling me they will hold the refund for as long as probably legally possible 30 days. You multiply this by the thousands of people per day who have some type of issue that they need a refund..and you can see how GREEDY PayPal is making back on the backs of Americans who are in crisis and trying to support their families. See if they can keep that refund money on their ledger as long as possible. They can earn interest and get rich while we suffer.

After 2 months of waiting, I received (1) face mask from China. I filed a complaint to the resolution center, and the seller agreed to a partial refund of $50.00. For many days, I clicked that I would accept this refund. Every time I clicked it, it took me to a PayPal screen that said that the action didn't work, and "There must be a problem on our end".

I searched PayPal for help, and everything took me back to my original complaint. Where I would click the accept button, and get another failure, over and over. After numerous attempts at accepting the offer, I clicked that I did not accept the offer, and BOOM, it went through. Then, I had to wait for PayPal to communicate with the seller again.

Updated on 11/09/2020: I have tried to deal with PayPal Turkey, PayPal US and PayPal Singapore with the best of my communication skills. I couldn't achieve to close my PayPal account permanently. They stubbornly made it permanently limited. So, no matter which continent or country you are in, Paypal is always bully to the Customers and keep being very rude and non concerned about us. Didn't we get sick of being wronged even knowing that we were totally right with a circular mess of incompetence at best, theft at worst. Why would we go to compromise to the favour of PayPal when there are sound-trusting choices? Do we take too much pleasure in torturing ourselves?

The complaints will only be over when this lousy company entirely lose its Customers. I have not come across any Merchant writing a complaint here. Did you ever think about the rational behind this? Will we continue to be consoled by reading each other's troubles? So, let them continue to play in their own sand pool along with the scammers. Stay away from PayPal. This will be the best remedy to do for your own safety and health.

Updated on 10/16/2020: Approximately three months ago, I had written a review here that PayPal was banned in Turkey since 2016 because of the firm's inability to get a new license from Turkish financial regulator and therefore I had intended to close my PayPal Turkey account which was idle for years. As a contrary, Paypal has been putting all sorts of obstacles and difficulties not to do that. I have even been prevented from accessing to my account. Although I have repeatedly requested in writing, they eventually permanently limited the account instead terminating it permanently.

During this period, I have corresponded with PayPal US via web form directly and lastly PayPal Headquarters at San Jose/CA through BBB. Although mostly unanswered, the answers I could get were unrelated, confusing clichés sent from different agents. Unbelievable, but for the first and last time, I've gotten a thorough, logical and accurately directing response from PayPal that came from Omaha/ NE branch which was sent as an answer to my second complaint case opened at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). They informed me that my interlocutor is not PayPal US but PayPal Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore. Since PayPal Turkey accounts are conducted by PayPal Pte. Ltd., they were unable to address the concerns within my complaint.

Obviously, in the last five months everybody at PayPal US misled me and nobody informed me about this reality. If I knew this, I wouldn't lose 5 months going through a vicious cycle. I wouldn't write a review here, open complaint cases at BBB and CFPB. I am grateful to CFPB who helped me achieve this result. From now on, I will continue to chase the matter through PayPal Pte. Ltd., Singapore. If their business mentality is like PayPal US, it means I have to struggle again.

In this connection, I have to admit that BBB did not help but caused waste time and energy as far as I am concerned. My complaint file did not go beyond obtaining a registration number, passing over PayPal Headquarters San Jose/CA's absurd message to me and closing with the out of purview label giving no explanation. I was expecting the BBB would be more than a place to file the complaints. My last word is for solving your PayPal related problems, apply directly to the CFPB. Their complaint edit screens are user friendly and despite the pandemic, I got positive feedback in a very short time. Meanwhile, I will continue to stay away from PayPal for the future part of my life.

Original Review: Being a resident of Turkey, I am one of PayPal's old Customers. I had used them for payment of a few orders from US many years ago. Since June 2016, PayPal has halt business operations in Turkey as her application for license was denied by the local financial regulator and they were instructed to suspend processing Turkish payments. Currently, PayPal customers in Turkey have no longer been able to send and receive funds with PayPal since June 2016. As a precaution to scammers, I wanted to close my PayPal account which I can not use due to unavailability of PayPal in Turkey. For the last two months, I have been struggling with them for my account close-out with no attainable result.

I am really tired and frustrated by their strange attitudes which do not suit with the business heritage of internationally serious companies. Mostly silence with no response, very late, irrelevant, insensitive and confusing answers, every time sent by a different name. They are like robots with no sense of justice broadcasting automated generic answers as built in their memories but always to the favor of PayPal's benefits. Meanwhile I had the chance to look at the User's reviews in ConsumerAffairs. I have to admit that I am grateful for my own situation after reading more disastrous experiences. PayPal's unjust treatment is a disaster but more worst is they don't give a damn to the publicized complaints read by a broad community. It is enough to read the Customer reviews written here to stay away from PayPal.

Obviously, PayPal's main driver is to secure the brokerage commission and get out of the way. It is not their priority to eliminate their Customers' complaints and try to solve Customer problems to act in Customer's interest. They ignore the fact they need these Customers forever to stay standing in the business. I am sorry for the Customers who expressed their negative reviews here and wish them to be able to settle down their disputes with PayPal asap. Finally, PayPal was fortunately unable to get a license from the Turkish authorities and banned in Turkey. Otherwise, in the last four years, there would have been a lot of PayPal unjust treatment in Turkey too.

I am a long time user of PayPal and had no complaints until now. Many of the below reviews are replicas of my situation. I ordered an inflatable pool for $69.99 from a Chinese vendor, and I immediately noticed something was wrong when I received a PayPal email notification but not a receipt from the vendor. I contacted the vendor's email asking for a receipt and received no reply after a week. Then, I saw the PayPal tracking number said it was delivered, but I still did not receive the item. I went to the local post office and gave them the USPS tracking number. USPS told me that the tracking number had a destination to a residential home about 10 minutes away from my address. I went to the address given by USPS, and talked to the home-owner there. They did not even receive the pool that was shipped to their address by mistake. By now, I was 100% sure it was fraud.

PayPal has an elaborate scam set up where the user purchases an item on a fake website. In some cases, the website cannot even be found after the purchase. Then, the "vendor" ships an item of no value to your address or a local address with the same postal code. This will trigger PayPal's delivery status to say that the delivery is complete and customer has received good. So, when the user tries to dispute the purchase, the case is automatically granted to the vendor because the status of the goods says "Delivered" and you cannot get your money back. Don't use PayPal, but keep trying to get your money back. They are just fraudulent now...

I generally liked PayPal's service until I was on the receiving end of a fraud case and they denied my claim despite the fact I provided ample evidence the business in question is fraudulent. They had initially refunded me my money while the dispute played out, and then when they denied my claim, they put a negative balance of almost $100 on my account and wouldn't let me charge it to the original credit card that I had used to make the purchase from within PayPal. As a result, my credit card company cannot assist with the fraud, PayPal is complicit with the fraudulent company, and I am out almost $100 in the middle of a pandemic and economic recession.

I photographed the bracelet, the package showing the identical tracking number, the online listing I used to purchase the item, the multiple emails I sent to the seller disputing the charge and of course receiving no reply. PayPal's response was that I was to ship the item back to the seller at my expense, and if the seller agreed that the item was returned in the condition it was sent, then I would receive a refund.

The cost to ship the item was over a third of what I paid for the original item, and all the seller would have had to do is claim that the item wasn't in the same condition as when they sent it to me, and I would get nothing. It's basically throwing good money after bad. Needless to say I didn't bother and considered the $100 I paid as a life lesson learned. Don't trust PayPal and don't trust overseas sellers!

I have been a user of PayPal since about the beginning, and generally speaking, I have been satisfied, however, recently something happened which will cause me to cancel my account. Recently I discovered that a number of withdrawals had been made, from my bank account, which I did not recognize. They were all to someone by the name of Amine Nabat, a name I did not recognize. Furthermore, they were all cash transfers, from my checking account, in amounts under $100, but adding up to $395.00. Also, they were all even dollar amounts, e.g. like $45.00, $55.00 or $60.00. All of these transactions appeared to be of the exact same nature. Not only do I not recall making any cash transfers recently, I would remember even dollar amounts, which are unusual. There was no way they could be legitimate.

So I reported these fraudulent transactions to PayPal, and after a short conversation, PayPal refunded 5 of the 6 transactions, but never explained why they did not refund the last one, the 5th on my list, for $55.00. So I got back in touch with PayPal, explained the situation, and awaited an answer. I was appalled at what they told me! They told me, and I paraphrase, that they "refund only product/services transactions, not cash transfers!" Well, as mentioned, as far as I could tell, these were ALL cash transfers, and PayPal had already refunded 5 of them! But they CS reps I spoke with (by text) didn't seem to care.

They refused to refund that transaction, despite the fact that I DIDN'T MAKE IT, and that it was made, fraudulently, ON AND WITH THEIR SYSTEM! I could not believe that they would let someone hack into my account, on their system, and then would not take responsibility for it! The fact that they DID refund the other 5 apparently identical (except for the amount) fraudulent transactions is one of the unexplained mysteries of this whole affair, but the bottom line is that PayPal refused to take responsibility for the illegal theft of my money on their system...

Which for me is a deal-breaker. They MUST guarantee that my money is SAFE on their system! I have of course changed my PayPal password, and I also reported this case to the FBI, and when they inform me that they do not need access to my account, I will close it, and be done with them. It's too bad, because previously, PayPal was fine, just like a bank, but clearly, that is NOT the case. I give PayPal 2 stars, because of satisfactory previous service, but any service like that, which does not guarantee electronic security, is not worth doing business with.

This is a long review but hear me out before you use PayPal. On 6/21/20 I received a message that my account was limited and I needed to provide my ID and proof of bank/social security number because my account showed activities "out of the normal". I had just sent someone an invoice in the amount of $3500 for a vintage Chanel purse. I mainly use PayPal to sell bags, shoes or jewelry/items of my personal collection. I am not a business but use PayPal Invoice for buyers' peace of mind and security.

Ever since I opened that account I have been selling high value items like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior (luxury items) and not once have I had a dispute at all. All of the items I sell get shipped and I upload tracking online for the buyers to see status of shipping and paypal won’t release funds unless items are delivered and buyer approves delivery. I never sell any counterfeit items and have done everything how it should be.

All of a sudden Paypal sends me that message and I try to comply and upload required documentation. Once I submit that, I get a message that I am banned or how they like to say "permanent limited" from using PayPal and they are parting ways with me. They are holding my money of course, after they take their fee! Like I mentioned, I also use PayPal to buy things and I currently have an invoice that I was partially paying and now I can't even pay that! I will be losing the money I have paid so far because I'm supposed to pay by the begging of July as stipulated in the invoice or the seller will keep $160 (20% off the value of my purchase).

PayPal's customer service line is closed and all they kept doing was sending me automated messages till I was finally able to reach someone and all for them to tell me there is nothing they can do. That the decision is final and can not be overturned and after 180 they will email me to see if I can take my money out. That is it! No explanation as to why they banned me. I keep asking for a answer and they keep giving me the run around that I violated the terms but can't tell me why for security purposes. It makes no sense! How are you going to accuse someone of doing fraudulent activities or risky behavior without having any type of proof?! (I have never had any disputes). It's defamation on their behalf to tell me I am involved in those behaviors if they have no proof and closing my account out of assumptions.

They are holding $3398.20 and I have a pending refund of $180 for some glasses that came in bad condition and seller refund me. I also have the pending invoice I need to pay and they are doing nothing to help solve the problem. My account was limited on Sunday 6/21/20 and till now I have no solution to the problem. It is upsetting and only adds more frustration that they're doing this during such tough economic times. I am pretty sure I am not the only one they are doing this to. They are holding money to accrue interests off our money and to me this feels like a scam on their behalf. PayPal does not care for their customers.

It just connected it to their last email/post and returned the same information to me. All of this could have been avoided if PayPal helped me get my refund prior to the company shipping this garbage to me, it took them months to ship. Paypal will not allow me to close my account or release my money. Suddenly yesterday my Paypal card started getting declined. Customer service offered no explanation. I tried to close my account, get a check for the balance, to no avail. I've had these problems from this company before. However, I've NEVER had these sort of problems with Venmo, Greendot, CashApp, etc. A lot of my ** friends & associates have had this same problem. Paypal is a deceitful, fraudulent company that preys on people--especially those of color--& steals their money with no plausible explanation, violates its own User Agreements, & generally needs to go along with the other dinosaurs.

Call the San Jose District Attorney. I'm going to report this company for theft by deception, & I encourage you to do the same. If you have been robbed by Paypal, if they have caused you to be charged late fees by unlawfully holding your money for any reason, we will file a class action suit to get reparations for the hundreds of thousands of dollars that Paypal has stolen with its shifty practices. Go to Venmo. Go to CashApp. You will have NONE of the problems you have with Paypal.

On 20 May 20 I reached out to PayPal for assistance when I had not received my order and I could not come to a resolution with the merchant. Since I submitted my payment through PayPal and they offer payment protection I went through the PayPal site for assistance. My complaint was escalated to the resolution department. The resolution department took two weeks longer than they are specified and came back with a decision not in my favor. They stated that it was not in my favor because they received a tracking number so they closed my case.

Finally on the 19 June I received a smashed basket that was not what I ordered and it was damaged beyond use. When I tried to get back in contact with the resolution center they would not take my phone calls nor would they re-open my case so I spent $28.88 for a damaged basket that I cant use for anything. I wasted 90 days and $28.88 that I will never get back and and the PayPal Resolution Center is definitely not there for the customer.

I have been using PayPal for YEARS, so long I can't even remember however this past May I received 4 transactions from someone I did not know.... Keep in mind this is a business acct so multiple transactions occur. I received an email about suspicious activity on my account which I acknowledged immediately. Thru their online help submission that I filled out twice, I asked them to verify these payments. I was told yes, they are valid and my account was restored. The past week I received an email saying the person who sent me the $ accidentally sent to wrong person. I have no problem with that, accidents happen, so I immediately refunded this person. NOW Paypal is charging me roughly $23 per transaction for something I had absolutely NO CONTROL over. If anyone should be charged, it's the person who accidentally sent me the money... It's his mistake, not mine.

Each transaction was only $28.96 so after refunding this person, Paypal wants me to pay them basically the same amt back. A total of almost $92. How is this fair to me when I have absolutely no control who sends me money. I will not pay Paypal and they have THREATENED ME that they will put a hold on my bank account and pull the funds from the primary account listed if I do not pay them. This is called STEALING PAYPAL! You are SCAMMING me out of my hard earned money! Long story short, I am closing my bank acct and opening a new one at a different bank. I will not let these thieves take something that is not owed to them. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.... CLAIMS TO BE SECURE, BUT REALLY THEY ARE NOT. ALL THEY HIRE ARE LIARS AND THIEVES!!!!

Paypal not as 'customer friendly' as my Visa credit card, that's for sure. Just recently I noticed all the negative reviews of Paypal and decided I would unlink my bank account for my own security. In surfing around I also located the following suggestion from an NBC news article: Don't link your PayPal account to your bank account or debit card account. "If your PayPal account is compromised, it’s money taken directly out of your bank account."

I have been a PayPal customer for 15 years. No problems. I used my account to send and receive money, but in the past few years, it has been primarily used to run my eBay store. I have been downsizing, so I've been selling all my collectibles, movies, CDs, etc. I have a 100% customer rating on eBay. Given the COVID pandemic, my online sales have been my only reliable source of income lately.

Last week I received an email from PayPal saying my account has been locked for 180 days. This means I can't send or receive money or withdraw from my balance for SIX MONTHS. I have over $5,000 in my PayPal account! Because of this, I have had to deactivate every item I have for sale, because there is no other alternative available yet for eBay transactions.

Their reason for deactivating the account? "Changes in your account, selling activity or potential fraud concerns." I haven't changed anything. I'm not defrauding anyone. And my selling activity is completely above board and without any customer complaints. Surely this must be a mistake... So I look for a customer service number. They do NOT make it easy to find on their site. But a Google search will produce the number. When you call, you will NOT get a person. No matter how hard you try. Every avenue ends with a recording about there being no customer service reps available due to COVID. I have to call BS on that. People can answer phones from anywhere. This virus is just a flimsy excuse for not providing customer service.

I went to the website to try to get on a chat with someone. After a lot of runaround, I got on a chat with a bot that told me my account is shut down for risky business activities. I KNOW THAT. I AM TRYING TO TALK TO SOMEONE TO FIX IT. But there is not a live person on their chat, either. I found a discussion online that said there is actually a person responding to Facebook posts. So I go to their Facebook page. This is where I see that there are hundreds of people in the same boat as me. And there is an actual live person answering their complaints. But it might as well be a robot, because all you get is "We're sorry you've had this experience. Please visit our website... blah blah blah."

I did call eBay – a person answered... (See? It's not impossible to handle customer calls right now.) They said they've had thousands of complaints about PayPal, and they are unveiling another payment provider, but it's by invitation only right now. I hope I get my invitation soon. This company is HORRIBLE. They are playing with people's livelihoods. That $5K would be really helpful right now, but PayPal can just hold it for no valid reason and allow me absolutely ZERO recourse to try to straighten this out. I have shut down all my business PayPal accounts and will never do business with this awful company again. Public service announcement: If you have money in your PayPal account, REMOVE IT NOW. If it's money you don't mind losing for a long time, leave it in there, but know it is at risk of being taken from you at the random whim of this unethical company. And you will be powerless to resolve your situation.

PayPal stated that since CHAKROS sent me a UPS delivery confirmation, which traces back to a package that only weighed 0.2 lb and was delivered to an address in our area, I wouldn’t receive my money back...the red wagon must weigh close to 40 lb.

Incidentally, I took screen shots of the whole transaction, but PayPal closed the ticket. Here is a company that is supposed to protect from fraudulent businesses, but seems to actually support them by not doing due diligence in making sure those businesses are legit. Looks like PayPal is only concerned about profiting from financial transactions, not at all concerned with making sure fraudulent businesses aren’t taking advantage of their consumer members.

I have been a customer of PayPal since the early 2000's. Never had an issue with them during all of those years, but it appears that as of late, PayPal has taken a pretty major downward shift in terms of their operations and customer service. For starters, can someone tell me how a company as large as PayPal doesn't have the capability to have telephone customer service via employees working from home? And if you're not going to have that, at least beef up your online customer service to make up for the shortfall.

Anyway, I ordered a home theater projector and screen from Amazon a couple of months ago. The items were ordered together, and the payment method used was my PayPal Cash Plus Debit Card, with the amount of money to cover the order already having been in that account. Once the order was purchased, I noticed that Amazon had taken the money out for the total order price, and my Cash Plus balance went down to zero; a week later, I received the projector, with a notification that the screen would be shipping in a couple of weeks.

Shortly thereafter, I noticed that the transaction details on PayPal from that Amazon purchase had changed to reflect just the amount paid for the projector; however, my Cash Plus account balance still showed as being zero. I figured that Amazon still had my money, and they hadn't said that the screen was out of stock or anything to that effect, so no big deal. A couple of weeks later, once the screen shipped, my PayPal Mastercard has a charge on it for the amount of the screen, and my Cash Plus account still reflects a zero balance. In other words, I paid twice for the item.

I contacted PayPal's customer service, and waited for hours before someone actually responded. I explained the situation, and was told that the reason for what was happening was that Amazon never released the hold on the funds paid for the screen, and since those funds did not come back to my Cash Plus account, the Mastercard was defaulted to. They told me that this happens a lot with Amazon purchases. Well, if it's a common problem, how about someone get on the ball and do something to fix it?

They told me to contact Amazon and have them release the hold. I contact Amazon; they tell me that they released that hold weeks ago. Now I have two different chat windows with two different companies, both of whom are telling me it's the other's fault. I gave up and asked the PayPal representative when the hold on those funds was set to expire. She said in three weeks, and then the money would be back in my account. I told her that was unacceptable, and that if it was not back in there within that three weeks, they would be hearing from me again. It was back in my account a few days later.

Then we move on to my most recent issue with them, involving my Mastercard account. Now mind you, I have been using the same bank account to pay the balance on that card for six months, and never once has there ever been an issue. All of a sudden, my payment of $205 on June 2nd, while posted, does not reflect in the Available to Spend amount.

I contact PayPal; they tell me that they reserve the right to put a hold on payments to avoid fraudulent activity. I find this particularly amusing, considering that the $370 payment I made two weeks prior- from the same bank account- went through and posted with no issues whatsoever. I was told that the hold would release in 8-10 days; it is now June 17th- 15 days later- and still no change. And there's no way to contact them because their site is currently inaccessible. Once I have the balances on my Mastercard and PayPal Credit accounts paid off, I will most likely be terminating my accounts with them. If their service of late is any indication, this company is headed south in a quick way, and my credit is at a point now where I can take its worthiness elsewhere.

I got an email notification of a $100 purchase made using my PayPal account. It was for an Adidas purchase, a shoe brand I never buy from, and made at a time when I was nowhere near a computer. I reached out to PayPal immediately, and was told that they couldn't do anything because it was pending. Uh... what?

Well, eventually the order went through, and I reached out again. They told me that they couldn't do anything because, according to them, the purchase was authorized. Excuse me? No, it wasn't. Unless I went mentally insane for a few hours and bought Adidas shoes, there was no way I could have used it. I complained about this again, and was told that my complaint was rejected. In other words, they really are truly telling me, to my virtual face, that I did make the purchase, and they won't do anything to help me, and my claims that these aren't authorized by me are false.

When I came to this website, I was surprised to see a TON of other negative reviews, and many of them with the EXACT SAME experience. This tells me that PayPal stinks to high heaven when it comes to dealing with unauthorized purchases. Needless to say, I've closed down my account, and unless PayPal makes some serious changes, I never, ever intend to use their services again.

Paypal is approving fake vendors. When doing online shopping we search for best deal and if deal is too good we verify if it's a fraud company by looking at payment options, then if we see Paypal, we blindly go and procced to checkout. But nowadays in this pandemic situation, PAYPAL HAS NO PHONE SUPPORT AND SENDING EMAILS IS LITERALLY OF NO USE. Paypal might be collecting fee from fake vendors. I purchased three items, out of which two are fake vendors. When open a resolution, even though there are no proper shipment details, Paypal is closing cases in favor of vendors. Once case is closed there is no way we can reopen and no way we can reach out to customer support on phone.

NO refund and NO replacement but because there was a tracking number (which only means "something" was shipped) the dispute with the seller went in their favor. Paypal had all my correspondence with the seller. I told them multiple times I had only received the one item. They did nothing to help with this scam of a company. Very disappointed with PayPal's lack of interest in my dispute. I will no longer use PayPal. I also notified PayPal about the horrible reviews about this company after I researched them. Hope they take some time to see I was not the only person with experiences like mine. They sided with the scammers!

It is now June 11th and I have not received the orders. The seller sent an automated message saying it was because of Covid and I wouldn't receive the orders for 40-60 days! They should have put this on their website. Very hard to get through to PayPal. I keep messaging and every time I have to repeat the story over again. I sent screenshots of invoices. I don't know what else to do. If I do receive the items, which I don't want now, PayPal said it will be up to the seller to decide if I can return them. This is so ridiculous. I am going to be filing complaints with BBB and closing my PayPal accounts. BEWARE! I wish I read the reviews before using PayPal.

I told them that was not correct and they asked me to contact the postal company who responded that the code provided did not exist. Sent all this info to PayPal and even though they were the ones who had told me to contact the postal service and were in correspondence with me about this for a month, responded that they can no longer assist due to it being outside the 180 days buyer protection!!!! Absolutely disgraceful. Obviously scammers have noticed this loophole and are abusing buyers who are naive enough to trust PayPal. Closing my account. I had to change my bank account, phone and several credit cards. When I attempted to access my paypal account it will not let me in. I had put into place the two step verify with my password and then it sent a code to my cell phone. I had to have the cell number stopped prior to accessing paypal. So it will not let me sign in , I put in the correct password but then it says it sent a code to a number I no longer have. I have tried customer support but no one answers the phone at this time.. I have tried texting to their so called support line but you have to sign in to be able to message them. What genius thought that one up?!?!

I even opened a separate account to be able to text and was told the only thing they can do is reset the password and I would have to speak with customer support. I told them the lines were closed and they just said sorry it was out of their control. I have spent over 100 hours attempting to speak, text to anyone within the business that could help and there is no one. You try to keep your account safe and then it backfires on you and no one is around to take care of business. I am not worried about purchasing items, I am trying to manage my account and make sure the payments are made and still no one is working to help take care of the accounts! Anyone interested in doing business with a company that cares and is there to keep its customers satisfied then you need to go elsewhere. Paypal does not care at all about its customers in my opinion.

Updated on 06/26/2020: Having had a great experience for years with PayPal, I bought some boots from Aquatalia in the US nearly 3 months ago now. We returned them, used the label provided by the seller, Australia Post were the carrier. The boots arrived with the courier in Sydney as per label but no refund arrived. We contacted PayPal, who only have a very patchy message service to which you cannot add a file, simply photos, one by one which once loaded cannot be opened and referred to ... no email address, no telephone, just message which can take hours to respond.

8 weeks and 24 different people on the message site, multiple requests for info already sent multiple times, my case was refused on the grounds that there was no evidence that the boots were returned. Despite the label from Aquatalia with the address and reference and tracking numbers, the receipt of dispatching from Australia Post, the letter detailing signed receipt of boots at the return destination detailed on the label, and a letter from Aquatalia explaining that PayPal were making the refund complicated because of the dispute, PayPal tell me the return label was not valid? That Australia Post had not delivered the goods, and that Aquatalia says they never received the boots. Aquatalia actually sent us a letter which was forwarded to PayPal discussing the difficulty in refunding PayPal?

It has been 8 weeks of reviewing my case, and I am $975 out of pocket, with nowhere to go. There is no way of talking to PayPal, today alone I have had 5 different people on the message service! Do not touch PayPal, they were fantastic but no longer. I am devastated as everything is documented, with official evidence but I have no way of talking to anyone, and they have closed my case! If anyone can help, I would be so grateful. It is a disgrace.

Original Review: Having always had great faith in PayPal, they no longer have a phone option for communication. Over three weeks, I have been trying to resolve an issue where I need to be refunded. With their new messaging system, you wait till an agent is free, this can take up to 3 hours! Once connected, the agent changes without warning, so you keep texting the same information again and again, so there are teams of the same attachments. My case was simple, all documented with paper back up, and yet I am still trying to get it resolved. Till now, PayPal have been fantastic, but without the option of speaking to just one person, during this case, I have been texting with over 20 people, what hope have I of getting it resolved? Until they restore their telephone service, avoid using PayPal as there is no longer reliable support.

If I could have put zero I would have done it. I have been using PayPal for years, perhaps I was still a minor at the first uses. Always all right and I've always recommended it. After this experience, however, not only did they cancel an entire positivity but I also immediately canceled the account. I am currently in the UK, a few weeks ago I placed an order of about 149 GBP, I used Paypal connected to my Revolut account and I bought and paid in GBP. They charged me about 10 pounds more then for a total of about 159 GBP, at which I already begin to understand that something is wrong. Unfortunately I send back the order because it was not satisfied and despite the reimbursement from the site it was in GBP I was returned in Euros.

Needless to say, obviously in doing so the accounts did not return. Afterwards the same thing for another order of about 199 GBP. Charged 210 to which I get tired and contact the assistance in chat that initially blames Revolut, while today I am told that being the account with the main currency in euros, the exchange rate was applied. To which my question is: but all you want, but if I buy in GBP and pay in GBP what the hell can you ever apply??? It is the equivalent of STEALING.

Having said that, the assistance also tried to insist that euro had been withdrawn and that if there had not been enough, the payment would have been blocked automatically and also there, ten times to explain that I had yes and no 80 euro so I had made the payment in GBP, I think I know better than them what I have on the current account. Thanking heaven I blocked in time a purchase of a Mac from Apple because there was nothing to laugh about if not. Bad. I am amazed and angry, this is really stealing, losing customers in this way. Bought a chair booster via Paypal for about 25 dollars in Feb 2020. 5 weeks later, as I was sitting inside my room watching TV, I got a notice that my item was just delivered via UPS, I rushed outside the door, no delivery found. I tracked it, it says delivered. I called UPS, they tracked it and it says delivered. I asked UPS rep which address was it delivered to, he says he cannot confirm, that I should contact seller. Emailed seller 3 times, he got back to me after 10 days saying item has been delivered to me. I contacted paypal, opened a dispute. 1 month later UPS emailed me a transcript of the delivery stating it was delivered to wrong address in another city.

I promptly forwarded the transcript to Paypal. 2 weeks later, Paypal decided the case to the favor of the seller, and I lost my money. I called UPS again, the supervisor frantically told me that the seller refused to return their emails, so they cannot refund me the money even though they delivered to wrong address. So, Paypal refused to return my money for an item I never received.

#2. Still in Feb 2020, I paid for a designer sewing table that easily converts to reading table for my mom for $58. I kept tracking it for 3 months, till it said "delivered". I got home and didn't find anything in front door. I checked the mailbox and saw 1 white plastic kid's sunglasses sent from China. I tracked it. Again it says delivered. I emailed the seller 2 times in 1 week, then he replied stating he was sorry for sending me wrong item (after 3 months of wait!). I requested for refund, he stopped replying me. I emailed again and again for 2 weeks, no response.

I then took my disappointment to Paypal, they opened a dispute, and weeks later they sent me an email showing a tracking number and my address that "item" was delivered to me, thereby denying me my $58 paid for a sewing table. Am terribly disappointed. Sad. And horrified! Please, folks, stay away from Paypal. I AM TERMINATING MY ACCOUNT WITH PAYPAL, FOREVER!!

The problem is the mailbox is at the curb and a case of paper towels would not fit in a mailbox and why would the mail mail leave a big box in the street. l will never order through PayPal again. They closed my case right away. l was using it a lot but never again. l will call my bank now and tell them what has happened maybe they can help. One Hundred Dollars is a lot to me.

A month and a half ago, I saw an advertisement for an ankle brace from a company called Walk Hero. The purchase was problematic from the beginning: When finishing the transaction, I was asked again whether to pay the same sum, and I agreed, not realizing I was purchasing a second item I didn't want. I realize it was my mistake, but the company was obviously trying to mislead buyers who weren't careful enough. I wrote to them immediately but never got an answer and to this day haven't received the merchandise I purchased.

Two days ago I was informed by PayPal that they had credited me for a further $12.5 to Walk Hero although I hadn't purchased anything else. I immediately informed Paypal that I hadn't authorized that payment and asked what it was for. Paypal's swift and succinct response was that there were no unauthorized payments. I tried to contact Paypal again, asking for an explanation and got no answer. I looked up Walk Hero in the internet and didn't find it anymore, although their products are still being sold by other companies. I removed my credit card from Paypal but was informed that they can still credit me for previously authorized payments and I'm afraid I might be credited for further fictitious purchases I never authorized.

PayPal is nothing more than just a big scammer who use website for their own fake pure gain. I purchased mask from face mask pro on March 28th, 2020. Paypal let them sent fake tracking number to them saying the face mask has been delivered on April 10th, never received my face mask because the company is a scammer. Paypal covers for fake merchants. I have one balance left and I will be closing paypal for good. They settle in favor of the merchant because he sent them some fake tracking number but they told me my package is in the way and this is may 30th, 2020 and I will never do business with Safe Mask Pro or paypal. Never again.

I have used PayPal for years, but recently they have become horrible. They allow vendors to sell that have many disputed charges. In my case, the item was not that expensive and I did not do as much checking as I should have. When I clicked on pay via PayPal I knew it was a scam. I contacted PayPal immediately but they would not cancel the transaction and that I needed to wait until the ship date. That was April 14. On April 29 they said that the seller said I had received the item and sent a bogus shipping certificate. PayPal said they would review the information. On May 29 they sent an email to me asking for proof of delivery! It was not a copy of what they sent the seller. It said further that if I did not do so, my claim would be resolved in favor of the seller! I sent back as civil a response as I could muster. I now await their response which will probably be a month from now. Do not use PayPal!

I made a purchase a few years ago for a service through Paypal. This had a yearly recurring fee of 59.99. One day after I was charged for another year I canceled the service with the seller's website. I was assured I would be getting a refund and let it drop. Some time passed, I did not get my refund. I contacted the seller and was assured AGAIN I would get a refund since I did not use the service. More time passed and still no refund. I contacted Paypal dispute and let them take care of it. After several days of "dispute" I was denied my claim in favor of the seller. I did everything correct and was ripped off by this company and Paypal. I am very dissatisfied with Paypal's unjust decision. Make sure the company you are requesting help from isn't in Paypal's pocket.

Buyer Beware! PayPal has no interest in stopping scammers, nor making it right with their customers. Smooth sailing until I crossed paths with a crook. PayPal also CHOOSES to turn a blind eye which also makes them super shady. Seller provides bogus shipping number that PayPal accepts. Steer clear at all costs. Disputed, denied, closed my account, filed with BBB, never again. Good riddance.

I use to sing Paypal's praises years ago but not anymore. I have no idea why anyone uses them anymore. Credit card companies are in my experience pro consumer. PayPal definitely is not. Credit card companies when you file a dispute immediately credit your account while investigating claim. PayPal does not and insists on you doing the leg work. Consumer Affairs needs to have negative star I can check. Horrible horrible company. Run! From pure exasperation I have given up and willing to say goodbye to over $100 just so I can close my account. There is no pal in PayPal for consumers however they enable fraud to flourish.

I used PayPal for years to purchase items and give money to charities. I thought they were great. And they were—until I wanted a refund. I bought a piece of art via PayPal directly from the artist. My wife didn’t want it, and the artist graciously refunded the purchase price to PayPal. He made a mistake and sent the money back as a payment instead of a refund. PayPal would not credit my charge card. For some strange reason, I couldn’t link my bank account to move the money there. So for almost a month now, that $1500.00 has sat useless to me in a PayPal account. I have chatted via PayPal’s text-based customer support to half a dozen agents, asking all the while to speak to a supervisor. Finally one agent agreed to put in a request for a supervisor to call me. I sat up all night waiting for that call. None came. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I found an Ad for a Bluetooth speaker, on the Weather Channel. Winjeys, is the company. Signed up, purchased it through Pay Pal, was told shipment in 20 days max. It's been over 2 months. I have tried to contact Pay Pal for a reimbursement. They said they never heard of me, even though I have a receipt. Never use Pay Pal. EVER.
