First, I was not told that I would be charged for a $65 subscription in addition to the $5 for the call. The Chatbot only told me about the $5 call. VERY deceiving!!! Second, the technician was only able to look at a photo of the part I had a question about. He had no specific experience or reference with my problem. He did not give me any confidence that I was doing the right thing.

They tell you it costs $5 to access the technician and it is FULLY refundable. It isn't and they won't tell you how to get the refund and they did not provide a solution to my problem.

Very satisfied with the entire experience. My concern had to do with a potential scam, because the issue had to do with the price of the item. Was too good to be true. After a few minutes it was determined that it was most likely legitimate, but proceed with caution and get a signed contract, before giving a 25% deposit. Thank you!

Nahum was great; he fixed my Microsoft account problem very quickly and easily by sending me to the right website where I was able to resubscribe to the account which I thought I had messed up by inadvertently changing my password and then removing my password completely.

I was very surprised that someone (a bot) came on right away in answer to my query. The bot (with a picture...?) had excellent communication skills. They found out what the problem was by asking good questions and then told me they'd have a mechanic call me back asap. I had to wait a little longer than I wanted to and didn't get a resolution to my problem but it definitely wasn't anyone's fault! My van is old and doesn't have a component that can be reprogrammed. I would have to get a new one. The mechanic was very clear and courteous and as helpful as he could be.

A complete SCAM AND SHAM of a service. Completely misleading. You get suckered into a $65 "membership" per MONTH unless you stop it, which of course is not easy. Even though I got confirmation my membership was cancelled, the charge is still on my credit card.
Watch out, their ads are placed next to the reputable dealer you are looking for answers from, and at a glance it looks like you are speaking to the vendor. In the case for me, I thought I was getting a consult with Bosch, that I could apply the $5 to a future repair, which I needed anyway. The refundable $5 is what you see, but your confirmation email says, guess what? We just enrolled you in a $65 nonrefundable "membership", this is reprehensible. The Better Business Bureau should ban them. They need to refund everything.

I was given the legal avenues I could follow to resolve my issue very clearly. I will be following a portion of his advice to correct the items with which I am having problems. Landlord/tenant issues can be tricky if you don’t know to whom the requests should be addressed.

After I pressed the wrong combination of buttons on my refrigerator when I was trying to reset my water filter screen I was worried that I my have screwed something up and I didn’t need my refrigerator not to work. You did a great job walking me through what I did and that it should not affect my settings and my refrigerator should continue to work properly. It’s nice to get a vet opinion before paying a large amount of money to only be told the same thing in office for 200 plus dollars. Just keep an eye on them and see how it goes. It’s worth the peace of mind especially on a weekend when most vet offices are closed.

The problem I had was no start with 2008 Volvo S40 2.4i. 185K miles. Replaced everything that was faulty: fuel pressure sensor, fuel pump, fuel pump control module PEM, wiring integrity. After much diagnosis, it came down to pin 2 and 4 of FP sensor not receiving signal from ECM due to internal fault. Continuity test confirmed.

My cat has been quite sick for the past days & has not been eating. It was the middle of the night & we were considering taking her to the ER. She had been at the vet all day and the last thing I wanted to do was stress her out. This vet listened and asked detailed questions about her most recent blood work and her symptoms. She relieved all of our worries and gave us a good list of topics to cover with our local vet. They advertise that it only costs $5 to get answers and then charge $65 on a monthly basis including the first time. This is a completely misleading website. I tried to get help from customer service but they only have a chatbot that refused to provide a refund.

I was looking for Apple support and somehow got baited and switched to Just Answer-thought I was talking to Apple. They said the charge for the call would be $5 but when looking at my credit card they charged $70! The techs who tried to help me set up my new iPhone were incompetent-hardly knew their way around an iPhone or a Mac laptop. In the middle of trying to figure it out, the phone call cut out and I had to reengage them myself, no followup. In the end they were just unhelpful. DON'T use them! It is just a thinly veiled scam.

The customer service rep called me and let me know I should throw away my vacuum because it was out of the one year warranty. I called LG directly and told me I have a 10 year warranty on the motor. What a waste of a customer service company.

I just got a new Trane system installed on my home and this afternoon I had an "Alert" on my Trane app that said I had an Error on my system. I went to the Trane.com website explaining the ERR message and up pops JustAnswer. I thought it was part of Trane, they asked for my credit card number and charged me $5.00. A few minutes someone calls me and ask about my Error message. I asked if they were associated with Trane and they said no. I don't like it when someone can come into my internet connection not associated with whom I am trying to get a hold of. They are a scam, don't let them rip you off.

Short and to the point. I had an issue with Turbo Tax in late Jan 2026. Ask a question concerning Turbo Tax desktop and Windows 10 use. In a very slick fashion your directed to Just Answer where you’ll received the typical bot interaction, no more than what I already knew. Of course to talk to the bot it a quick $5 fully refundable charge. Right, fully refundable $5, no refund of the $50 they also charge for membership. You’ve got to log on to their website to cancel the membership or $50 charge reoccurs monthly. JustAnswer is being sued by the FTC for among other things deceptive advertising.

It took forever to get a call. I had to use the app after they said they would make it high priority and no one called. The lawyer Matt said I would get a full refund. He spent almost no time with me said he didn't know. Then he said he was busy and hung up on me. It lasted like 5 minutes.

I was not informed up front of 50.00 dollar fee that was charged to my bank account. I find that deceitful. Although I did get an answer to my question it took over an hour, I had to talk to an assistant first then wait to find a vet and then had to ask the same question 3 times to get a suggestion.

Beware of this site. Try YouTube for free. They did not help resolve my problem, but am getting charged monthly. I was able to fix the problem with the help of YouTube. I was told it would be a $5 charge but I do not recall being told I would be charged a recurring fee. It says you can cancel anytime, but I cannot find how to do that. I don't know how to contact them with a question, if I had one, let alone cancel. Found a way to contact they but the chat told me to fill out a form that the fine print tells me I am signing up for the service.

JustAnswer knows exactly what they are doing to trap people into a membership unknowingly. We all live in the same world of subscription services and this company tricks people instead of being clear like every other legitimate company we all work with. I was never informed and never gave consent for a membership service and never received any confirmation that I had signed up for a membership service. I only received emails regarding the conversation with a vet representative which I am submitting below. I only found out I had a membership when my credit card was charged again. Totally dishonest and I just found out that there is a lawsuit filed this month (January 2026) for this exact reason.

Quick response. Courteous. Sent me several links with information on ways to solve the issue, which unfortunately did not work. He then gave me manufacturer phone numbers to call. It did feel a little weird to be put on hold several times during the call while I tried to follow the instructions sent in the links. I felt like I could have looked up and found some of those links myself. I was expecting a tech to walk me through trying to solve the issue.

ROBOT call and RON never answered. His phone line was busy. I left a message but no reply. Seems TurboTax does NOT help directly anymore but forwards to CPAs to answer questions. But it is virtually impossible to get a response. I think its the ROBOT answering machine that prevents contacts.

I was told the fee was $5, but was charged an additional $65 that I would not have approved of if I was informed beforehand. Also, they were unable to resolve my issue. I will never recommend this company. I now have to waste more time to try and get a refund.

A FRAUDULENT WEBSITE. They tricked me into paying $45 to answer a question I had with a representative of the official government Social Security website. Just Answer captured my conversation with the SSA online chat.

I had done considerable research and had somewhat decided on a GE basic top load washer, but after reading reviews I had some concerns about the balancing issue. It was good to talk with someone totally familiar with the GE machines but who was not trying to push a particular model. He advised that all the basic machines were on the same platform or system so I just need to go look at the particular models and not get too turned off by a few poor reviews.

To be honest I was hesitant on using this service. I figured it was going to be some AI bot that's gonna just tell me what I already know through internet searches. I actually got a Certified tech with experience in my issue. He was very thorough and on point with his diagnosis. We were 99% positive about the part that needed to be replaced to fix my issue. Only because I didn't have a multimeter to perform a continuity test. Highly recommended. Well worth the 6 bucks it cost me for a peace of mind.

This app snuck up on me one day when I was in a hurry. I wanted to figure out how to use Google Chat. Just Answer inserted itself into Google Help somehow and then I was asked to pay $5 for advice. I thought this was weird but I was in a hurry. So I gave them access to my credit card and paid what I thought was just $5. About 5 minutes later they let me know that they weren't going to charge me the ~$60.00 I owed them right away. WTF!!!! I closed out my contact with them and used regular Google Help to solve my problem. This was a real scam! Stay away from Just Answer.

NOPE just a generic answer I could've found myself on Google, and I was charged not just the $5 fee that was asked for but an additional $65 in the fine print that everyone is bitching about and why there is a FTC lawsuit against JustAnswer. It is not just a $5 trial but a $5 refundable and $65 nonrefundable right off the bat. Bet I won't see even the $5 back. Nasty business.

I have been ripped off by this company. I specifically asked whether they provide a fit to fly certificate. I was lead to believe that they could. I paid my US dollars $60 only to be told that they do not provide this certificate. There is nowhere for me to apply for a refund. Absolute rip-off.

Terry, the technician, answered all my questions and offered very helpful information. He was pleasant and conversational. He deserves 5 stars. However Just Answer forced me to agree to a contract for a “$5 refundable fee” and then charged my credit card with their monthly fee of $65 almost before I finished my call with Terry. This had occurred once before where they then continued to charge me monthly until my husband noticed it a few months later. When we complained they were only willing to reverse 1 month’s charges out of 4. This time I contacted customer support immediately and they agreed to reverse the charge of $65. We’ll see if they continue to charge me next month. But beware of this sneaky practice!

The Service Technician was wonderful! BUT: Since 3 months/3 payments of 35.00 Euros I still cannot cancel my membership because I have to create an account in order to cancel. I tried with different computers, phones, and e-mails, only with the same response: "Please try again later". Only the the very first one is legit, the rest is fraudulent. There was no service provided, whatsoever, there is no membership, nothing. There is no reason for all the other charges other than fraud. I have never authorized ANY recurring charges. This one of those LetsGetTheUnsuspectingCustomerOnceForAllWeCan businesses that do not care about their reputation at all, they'll skin you once using the fine print most people do not read. They will never send you an email saying you created an account, we will charge you such and such per month. They just place the charges on your card hoping that you wouldn't notice. Shameful....

Actually wasn't sure how this would work. 5 dollars for a chat with a person who is supposed to be an expert electrical contractor. To my surprise he turned out to be just that. A very knowledgeable person who quickly understood my issue and helped me reach a solution that was safe, to code and relatively easy to perform. He was very clear and concise so I completely understood what needed to be done. I had a contractor come to my home and quote the project for over $1000.00. With the help and guidance I now can do this project for under $30.00. Yep, 30 bucks for the parts with my free labor. I contacted this service hoping to be able to obtain a prescription for a pain medication that I have administered to my pup for several years. However, many state regulation do not allow a registered veterinarian to write prescriptions through this given there is not an in-person examination. Nevertheless, the vet offered to begin the refund process simply because they could not help in this situation. It only cost me $5 to ask the question and I received a call within a minute from Charles in San Francisco. A lovely gentleman, who asked all the right questions and helped me sort through the problem and strange codes. I'm very pleased, and a little embarrassed, to say the fix was simple. We had unknowingly shut off the ice maker, but now I know, and I saved a bunch of money. There was an additional charge of $38 but I'm not complaining. So if that's the solution you're hoping for then give these people a try. It made my day!

When Foxy Loxy inadvertently ate part of my breakfast which had garlic in it, we called and were given advice for treatment. Because it was no more than 1 clove of garlic, the vet said we shouldn't be worried. However, we also gave Foxy Loxy a small amount of salt to try to make him vomit the food. That was more a problem than the garlic. So we're carefully watching him for symptoms and making sure he has lots of water available.

My credit card was scammed for $70 (one charge for $65 and another for $5 by JustAnswer). The company I had the question with had a "chat" link at the bottom of their page, and I thought this was a legitimate part of that company. I was never told that there would by any charge (maybe I didn't look at the small print after entering my credit card info). My bank sent me a text asking if I had authorized those charges and I said "NO". They have cancelled my card because of this fraud, and I now have to get new card info to all the legitimate users. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE - - IT IS A SCAM!!

Was referred to this company through the help section of the product app. After paying a surprise $5.00 to work with them, I got a text saying someone would "call" me within 4 minutes. After 25 minutes, I tried asking for help again. I got multiple emails telling me they are both working on my problem and someone would call. Never got a call. I also got multiple text saying the same thing. After 2 hours, I got an email saying no one was available to help me via call. Then I got a text with supposed help (no help). Then they asked for more information again, still no call, no help. This morning, more emails and texts, but still no help. Though I did get texts and emails asking me to rate them on their service. What a joke.

This software is absolutely fantastic. The lawyers on it are extremely professional—they walk me through my problems step by step and offer practical guidance. A $5.00 fee became a $65.00 dollar charge without consent, what a scam; that additional charge was never mentioned. There was not a single warning that a second charge was coming into place and not even mentioned at the end off the consult.

A total ripoff organization, order an answer to a question after they had a popup indicating the cost would be $5. After submitting my credit card and getting an answer, I was billed $65. Chatting with a so called supervisor (Lester), he indicated the price of $65 was correct and would not budge. Would never have ordered this at $65, and felt I had been scammed. Contacted credit card company who entered my dispute. Felt like I was scammed.

The technician fixed my problem very quickly. However, when I asked to be connected and had to give credit card information, I was only told it would be $5. Later I realized that I had signed up for a monthly $65 plan which would automatically renew in six months. I have cancelled this.

Terra was great! I sent in my question late Sunday afternoon and, from past experience, I know that I usually do not get a response to a question on JustAnswer on the weekends. I posted my question and three photos, stated that the appraiser could answer at their convenience, and that I would check back next week. I was really surprised and pleased that Terra, the appraiser, reached out to me so quickly, late on a Sunday. She stated her qualifications as an appraiser and then went into detail addressing my question (re a possible artist's signature on a vase). She could have just said "yes, it's valuable" or "no, it isn't," but instead explained the "signature" on the vase (related to a factory-employed artist).
Her explanation helped educate me, so that I will be aware of this possibility in the future examining other pieces of pottery. I've had very positive experiences with all the appraisers who have responded to my inquiries on "Just Answer," especially Mr. Philip** regarding the value and selling of several vintage firearms. Two appraisers helped me with a pair of WWI field binoculars, providing a wealth of detail, while another helped me evaluate some Italian pottery. I even recommended JustAnswer to a neighbor posting on a local neighborhood chat network regarding her request for an appraiser for some coins. Requesting an appraisal on JustAnswer is far more convenient and efficient than attempting to find a local appraiser, traveling to physical locations, etc.

If I could go with fewer than one star I would. All messages said I would talk to a Lawyer, but the "expert" I talked to was not anything close to an attorney or an expert on anything related to my question about the eviction process. My question was a simple one about the documents and process needed to begin the process and all he tried to do was discourage me from what I need to do and said I would need to contact a lawyer (funny enough, that's what I was lead to believe I was already doing). When I asked if he was a lawyer, he said that's not what they provide, but all communication prior says otherwise. This was a complete and utter waste of time, and now JustAnswer is trying to keep my $60 after the very misleading information that was given all over their site and in their communication. I did not get what I paid for and now they are keeping my money after I cancelled less than 10 minutes after starting.

The problem wasn’t resolved, but that was because it couldn’t be. My range was built so that when the left burners turn on, the fan turns on. The technician was very aware of this and he wasn’t stumped. It was a good talk.

Drew informed me that the two Conair LED mirrors were defective when I got them, through no fault of my own and I can return them to Costco without the boxes. I was asked for my debit card for a $5 refundable charge. The tech charged me $65, my bank said it was a suspicious Charge and blocked my card and Issued a new card. This was kinda scammy.
