BE CAREFUL. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. They tell you it's $5 and in small letters they are also telling you that you will be signing up for a membership which they will be charging you at least $66 a month. So $5 is not the cost of your question. They will charge you for on a monthly basis once you sign up. They are getting away with it by automatically making you a member. In big letters it seems to be $5. In small letter you are signing away your money on monthly basis.

Sumi of JustAnswer found and removed a malware program from my computer after I'd spent a week trying to remove it. It was worth the money to allow JustAnswer to take over my computer remotely and root out the problem. I live far away from the nearest Computer Store, so this was a cost effective resolution.

I have been through some issues that no one wants to get involved.... I didn’t either. But if we realize that it can happen to us, we realize what we witness - we should speak up. One on one gets no justice. But contacting this site, I was given very appropriate information and then suggestions that I intend to use. I've had lawyers who wouldn’t even speak with me. I believed their job was to speak for those abused. Shame on those who haven’t done their job. Blessings on those who have or at least tried.

Headlight fuse 2014 Hyundai Sonata. Right side headlight went out. Replaced bulb. Still didn't work. Talked to several Mechanics. They indicated they would need the car for 3 hours to troubleshoot. Decided to Try locating right side headlight fuse on my own. Owners manual and Hyundai customer service of no assistance. Mechanic from Just Answer solved problem with 3 texts and questions.

I really liked dealing with Chris and Lance. I've been a mechanic for a long time. I needed help with tracking down an electrical issue. I signed up for trial, asked my question and got to answers that were exactly the same "I'm sorry I do not understand your question." So I repeated myself and then whatever was answering me could not even get the details of the situation right either time I repeated them. The responses sounded like robo responses. Could never get an answer or even get it to get details right. I gave up. Then they charged my acct. 46.00 for nothing. I talked to two different people about getting this reimbursed and they just kept telling about their policy. I got no help and am out 46.00. Beware it is a scam.

I have to apologise because I asked an impossible task, they try to help with everything they could. But I'm cancelling my membership because I'm buying a new printer. The old printer is done a good job but it's old 15 years. Like I said the reason I subscribed is because I thought I would be able to fix it. I don't have any problems with anything else. So I would like to thank you for doing a good job, last night I was very tired, I would highly recommend your company, I have a good network of friends.

I have multiple cats, many who seem to get sick after hours or who I want to run things by that a vet here is doing. Dr ** DVM has been invaluable to me and is very knowledgeable and kind in his responses. I stay a member for no other reason than to have Dr. ** "on call". I occasionally use it for other areas, like HVAC issues etc, but 100% a member because of Dr **.

Dr ** helped SO MUCH...I have tried "everything" in the past 4 months from changing food brands, pounding dry food to small particles and covering with chicken broth in the microwave, to separating my 2 cats at feeding. She suggested another method + a supplement to sprinkle over food to ease digestion. Picking that up today. Next step would be X-Ray and Blood work at Local Vet = $$$$. Texted with Joan at great length about my sick bearded dragon baby. She helped tremendously; I got right out to drugstore and grocery store to pick up items for mouth infection and special food to feed him, and then she recommended vet in area who treats exotics. Overnight, his mouth looks much better, but I will continue with local vet for follow-up. Joan's response time to my questions, details, and pictures was immediate! No wait time, which was very important to me. She obviously is very knowledgeable. I so appreciate the help! I highly recommend this service and will most definitely use again!!!!

I asked a question about my laptop cursor freezing in Windows 10.. Their support was totally WORTHLESS and did not work. THEN they started billing my debit card $40.00/month for a subscription WHICH I DID NOT AGREE TO NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY. I carefully read the screens and I know I NEVER agreed to a monthly subscription. Furthermore their simple instructions to cancel your subscription ARE NOT true. You have to hunt deep into their pages to find the place to cancel and they REQUIRE you to fill out the reason why you want to cancel OR they will not cancel your subscription. These people are nothing but an internet scam.

Says quick response and I can charge it back. Took 4 days to answer. Now I am being charged twice. Do Not use this web site. Ok you really should back up what you advertise and you do NOT. This is just a shame to get money for nothing. You should be ashamed. I thought the idea was great but the process is lacking sorely in integrity.

My Netgear device stopped working after 3 months and I went to what I thought was the Netgear site to get technical advice: it wasn't. I was told a technical person could help me for a one-time charge of $5.00 so I agreed and gave them my MC number. They hooked me up with a so-called "network expert" and the answer I was given was the same set up instructions that can be found on the Netgear website for installing the device for the first time. The answer did not address the fact my device stopped working. Several times after that answer, they told me that for a membership fee they could dig deeper into my problem, including logging on remotely and every time I said no. At least a half dozen times they kept offering and I said no. The device cost me $45.00 so I had no intention of paying $66.00 to get it working. I said no. What part of "no" don't they understand.

Despite me cancelling my membership they still charged my account $50.00. When I researched the answer the tax expert gave me it was not correct, she left out key components. When I tried to contact them through their contact us all I got was a bot that assured a supervisor would help me shortly. I waited over an hour and nobody came on chat. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, THEY ARE CON ARTIST.

Justanswer asks for 5 dollars to answer a question, and then they put us as a member without authorization. We were charged 50$ a month for 3 months of service that we never used. Then customer service gives us the run around and won't issue a refund.

BEWARE. You will be charged $47 within 7 days. Website states you will receive an email notice BEFORE being charged. I received the email on the day I was charged. Customer service would not reverse the charge. I cancelled right away, but I'm out that $47 after paying $5 for my initial answer!

I was looking for help with an issue with Microsoft. I was then diverted to the JustAnswer site which I assumed was a legitimate site from Microsoft. NOT SO. I agreed to pay $1 to get the help I needed but was never given the help. In fact the online link didn’t even appear to understand plain English and I just linked off. Then I see a charge on my bank account, completely Unauthorized. This is a COMPLETE SCAM.

I agreed to talk to a lawyer once, and then it signs me up for monthly membership automatically and starts charging me causing me credit problems. Very suspicious. It withdraws the money without my permission or without contacting me.

I contacted JustAnswer for a 1-time question that they advertised would cost $5.00. I did not request or authorize a trial membership beyond the 1-time question. They notified me AFTER they had already charged my account $26.00 that they would be charging my account in 3 days' time. There was only 1 notification and it was made AFTER they had already charged my account. Immediately upon receiving the very first notification that they would be charging me (after they had already charged my account), I cancelled the trial membership through the proper channels To their credit (no pun intended), they did notify me that they credited my account and sent me confirmation that the trial membership was cancelled.
Their advertising is misleading and confusing to folks who don't even realize they have signed up for an ongoing trial membership. The process of cancelling the trial membership is also misleading and almost forces folks to sign up again! The actual service itself that I received from the "expert" seemed legitimate, so it is unfortunate and sad to see the advertising/marketing/membership side of the business to be not so much on the up and up. A good business doesn't have to make folks jump through the hoops to cancel a trial membership or mislead them into signing up for one in the first place.

Inquiring if NJ law mandates separate bedroom for child with divorced parents. Although it is preferred, due to economic hardships, sometimes it is impossible to afford 2 bedroom apt. 1 Bedroom 2 separate beds is the scenario. This was my inquiry. I had an issue whereby my ISP restricted me sending out group emails to no more than (20-25) at a time. I am a domestic user, not business. These emails related to golf club activity, not business activity. They oddly enough could not explain why, but referred me to Just Answer to resolve the matter. As it turns out, JA advised me that the ISP users Bigpond email servers, who impose that restriction. I have now asked my ISP why they could not tell me that. No answer as yet.

I had asked a question back in September about buying my ex fiancée off off our home loan. I was told it would cost $5.00. My question was not completely answer. So when asked to give a review I gave ONE star. The shady website automatically changes to FIVE stars...I had even tried 3 more tries to give my 1 star and each time their website gave 5. The past 2 month they have fraudulently charged my debit card $47 for a “subscription” that I NEVER authorized. I called and asked to be refunded and they denied my request. Better off asking a friend. Don’t be fooled by these scammers!!!!

My dog 8 kgms ingested some medication for my 35 kg Shepherd. The vet calculated that the amount my small dog had ingested would not require any action and that other than ‘drunken sailor’ effect she would basically sleep it off which she did. The vet kept in touch with me and followed up on my dog’s recovery indicating that behaviour indicated a return to normality. He was reassuring. It was great to have him there.

We found bits and pieces of a lighter in the yard. We were concerned that our dog Ellie may have eaten it. My husband kept it on the covered patio, in a plastic bucket. A very brisk wind may have knocked it off the table, as the bucket was in pieces in the yard also. We were put in contact with Doctor. Mike online and by text. He was very helpful and very thorough in his questions. When I explained that Ellie did not appear to have any symptoms, he explained to recontact him immediately if she showed any symptoms. I used JustAnswer on Nov 12th at 8 PM EST for a single problem. I got prompt advice but it was just a canned response and didn't really address my specific question. The person on the chat told me that they would charge $5 for the trial and then will inform about the membership fee. Just yesterday I noticed a pending charge of $53 to my account and I immediately cancelled it after 7 days 16 hours since signing up. I chatted with the customer service and they provide the same canned response like they do with the advice; pretty annoying.

I had some questions about some older American coins. I had been trying to get answers to my questions for a while. I found this site on Google and had an answer within an hour. I've even been able to ask several other questions and received an even faster response. There is also a notification system that notifies via email, text, and on the site. I've found an expert who is outstanding and I have the option to request the same expert. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. There's also this neat feature that allows you send a tip. Initially, I started with a free trial but have since upgraded so I can take advantage of the full benefits like estimated wait times, a free phone call to name a few. I will definitely use this site on a regular basis and have most definitely recommended this to friends and even on my next door app.

I understand it is very bad for dogs to eat grapes. I saw one half eaten and was concerned. Asked about what the symptoms of Parkinson's disease were. The Dr. asked me certain questions regarding my bipolar on another question. I was satisfied with both of the issues and was a asked about what medication I was on which is quite the list. I cannot say I don't have Parkinson's disease but I only have one symptom. Being bipolar gives me tremors my medication does. I was frightened that I had Parkinson's disease but it looks like it's the bipolar medication is the cause. The reason I initially the asked these questions is it would take a year to be seen by a neurologist.

I googled, What could be the issue with our Range, the display would go blank at random times when the oven was on. I saw the web page, paid $5.00 for a 7 day free trial. I was connect to an Appliance tech who with my description of the problem sent me a copy of schematic diagrams and trouble shooting guide. He also suggest what and where the problem to likely be. I was able to zero in on the problem, I ended up removing the display control circuit board, repairing a solder connection and reinstalled the circuit board, reconnect all the cables and put everything back together. Be aware you must cancel within 7 days of your free trial or you will be charged. I thought I would try the service and was very pleased with the response but it was just 1 question and I didn't need any additional help at this time. However as life gets busy it is easy to forget to cancel which happened here. I then noticed a $53 charge and called to see if we could get it removed and was quickly reminded it states you must cancel so they wouldn't refund it. They wouldn't discuss it at all. Because of my experience I wouldn't recommend them. I would have to question their business model. Is it to provide a service to those that really need help or to get the one time quick buck? I do think they could provide a great service if that is the goal but they should then look at their processes and customer service.

After the question is posted and the membership is agreed to, we send a receipt E-mail, as well as a payment reminder E-mail, 3-days prior to any recurring billing.

I decided to use the site for assistance with repair instruction for a gas furnace. Three days later and still no response or answer. I requested cancellation of my subscription by email more than once and received email confirmation of my cancellation. Today, the third day I received email notification that $28.00 membership fee is due in 4 days. I go to the site to determine if the membership cancellation is reflected on my account. The account appears to be active. In addition, I discovered that my card information is saved on my Account Settings page. I did not save my card information with this company and certainly not on an account page. This was the first time I viewed the site in detail and my account information. I am concerned because my card information is LOCKED so I can't delete it.
I attempted to resolve these matters by "online chat." I chatted with three different representatives. As I explained my concerns about my account and card, the chat was disconnected. I started a second chat, explained again, and was directed to the same page to cancel the membership that I visited several times earlier. Again chat was disconnected. I started a third chat conversation, and I realized the representative is a robot with the same name, same questions, same responses I received from two previous representatives.
My effort became a circular exercise. The website is a robotic scheme. I do not believe the many positive reviews are legitimate. It is a scheme to entice consumers who need assistance. I considered this might be a scam but I said I will risk $5.00 to get an answer. That's the beauty of the scam. Expert answers cost more than $5.00. Consumers like me pay $5.00. I'm not surprised. This is the very first "online review" I've ever written. The $5.00 is not the issue. The issue is the difficulty of cancelling the trial membership and saving personal card information on the site without consent AND locking the information to prevent me from deleting my personal information. Please do not use JustAnswer.com.

I signed up for the trial membership yesterday, to ask an antique expert about items in my parent home. The trial membership lasts for 7 days and it boasts that a benefit of membership is UNLIMITED questions. After posting several quedtions asking the antique expert about items around the house, my account stopped working. I contacted customer service and was told my account was cancelled and that someone would email me. I asked if I could just speak to someone about it or if that rep could turn the account back on, and was told that I had to wait for the email. I received an email that just said my account was cancelled and had a link to reactivate.
When I clicked the link to reactivate it told me I need to call customer service. Called customer service and the guy said he could not tell me the reason my account was cancelled or reinstate it and he needs to escalate it, and someone will call me. So I am waiting for a call, then checked and I received an email saying my account was cancelled because I asked too many similar questions. If the account is Unlimited, why am I being cancelled for asking too many questions? Then I was told that my account will be reinstated Nov 24th, which is after my trial membership ends. So that would mean I would have to pay for the service even though they gave me less than a day of the trial membership I paid for.
The information I got from the antique expert was good, but the unethical practice surrounding the trial membership, and false advertising regarding UNLIMITED questions is why I am rating with 1- star. I signed up for the $5 trial because we had a property lease agreement question. We got excellent feedback from a legal expert and were very satisfied. However, when I signed up, I did not see a confirmation email with details about the membership and needing to cancel before 7 days or pay the $60 membership fee. Fortunately I caught the charge on my credit card and called to verify. It's not possible to cancel the account on-line, you have to contact the company manually, I was able to complete it via the chat window. The billing and account info on-line is very obscure and not clear. Most major companies do a better job of outlining all this information and I feel this company was less than forthright about the process. So if you're not careful about cancelling your 'trial' it will end up costing you $65 and not $5 as advertised.

I used this service 1 time and never used it again. However I paid for the service for the one time use. I canceled my account in October and didn’t get charged again until today. I immediately contacted them and they acknowledged I canceled my account however it showed as still open???? What??? I then asked them to remove the charge and all would be good and completely remove my account. They said it was TOO LATE to give me a refund. However I would not be charged again. Very confusing! This type of nickel and dime service is obviously a bait and hook operation. Be careful if you want to use them!

I used JustAnswer in early September for a single problem. I got prompt advice but it didn't resolve my problem so I cancelled my trial membership and went elsewhere for the help I needed. Just today I noticed that I continued to get billed for the past two months, including a bill that is currently pending on my credit card. I called to cancel AGAIN, was assured I am now cancelled but given no confirmation number or other proof and was told none of my money could be refunded despite not having used the service since September 7.
I understand sometimes technology glitches can mean a cancellation might not go through, but that's what customer service is for, and I feel I have received very poor customer service. When I tried to cancel again via the site all I got was canned auto-responses NOT addressing my problem. As a result of this inability to adequately resolve my cancellation I would NOT recommend this service to anyone.

I had a specific question about a tractor asking what specifically whether there were hydraulic lines behind the dashboard. Anyone with a schematic could tell in an instant but I didn't have one. The answer? "Take the dashboard apart and look". I looked online how to cancel but that was not available at that time. Then they charged me $34 to 'renew' my membership. AFTER I was charged, then the Membership button was available so they got me for one $34 payment.

I asked one question, paid the $5.00 trial offer for seven days which I assumed based on other trial offers is automatically cancelled. Instead I was charged 53.00 for a service quoted for $5.00. I called requesting a refund, but was denied. I have never experienced this before. This is more of a scam based on the payment model which is used to hook customers in and take money out of their account with the explanation of "you didn't cancel" knowing that the person is only utilizing the $5.00 seven day trial offer.

After a very negative review on my part, I finally got in contact with customer service at JustAnswer.com. I stand by my statement of backing out of website without joining. My question was answered. To what I’m not sure. Had no membership, my email was not sent answer. The gentleman I spoke to was genuine and helpful. Unbeknownst to me, I understand you can ask a question and as long as your credit card information is, and, or, was, filled in, the answer will appear forthwith. After routing the answer to my email while on the phone, I guess I can’t complain. 54 dollars for an answer from Jim the Ford mechanic is what I asked for and got I’m told. Lesson learned. I was charged $46 for a monthly membership I did not want, nor need. When a percentage of a company's income is based on collecting money for "memberships" people do not want, nor need, it's a borderline scam. When you have to charge people for a membership they do not want, nor need, your membership really is not really a good value. Enjoy the $46. This wasn't the first time I've used this website, but it certainly will be the last!

I had paid $5 for a questions that was resolved and that was fine, apparently there was a 7 day trial period. I had asked the question on November 2nd, cancelled the membership on the 9th because I did not want it I just wanted the one question. I did it within the seven days I had called and a woman replied saying it ended on the 8th which makes no sense. That’s 6 days? Not even a full 7 days. I did not receive any type of email or notification saying I was about to get billed or my trial was about to end. I would like the $28 charge for the membership I don’t want back onto my account.

Initially I had a good experience with justanswer.com. I had to ask a lawyer a question about businesses facilitating people getting sick by flu or virus. The lawyer (Debbie) was very direct and gave me her opinion on the subject. Which I respect and responded in kind. I then ended the discussion with a thank you and I thought that was the end of my justanswer.com experience. I paid a 5$ fee for the question I asked and felt like that was fair. 7 days later I got a notification from my online banking that I had been charged 66$ for a membership. Which I did not authorize or give consent to do. I am now in the process of getting my money refunded (lovely experience).
I suggest that if you absolutely have no other choice but to use justanswer.com for their services that you go purchase a prepaid credit card with the exact amount you need to use justanswer.com. I am not the only person that has fallen victim to this (for lack of a grimier word) SCAM. I feel like I have been violated for asking a question to an online source... imagine that?

The lights on the front of the refrigerator were flashing occasionally for several weeks. 4 cylinder 2006 Mazda Tribute with check engine light. Mechanic read the ode and said it was coolant temp sensor. He recommended I buy it and install it myself - a cheap and easy replacement. Also he pointed out that a toxic work environment can be avoided by changing employers. I am Usually careful with online vendors because they are slick at getting you to start a recurring account. So was surprised to discover a $40 withdrawal from my card and then discover it was the second time. Was able to get the second one reimbursed but their scheme worked at getting an extra $40 from me.

I got the question answered but when I cancelled my membership on the 2nd they took out $34.99 out of my account on the 5th. After calling customer service, I was just more frustrated because they told me to take it up with my bank because they will not return the money into my account. I would NEVER recommend this company and DON'T get a membership. Reminds me of AOL back in the day.

I knowingly signed up for a 7 day trial with my credit card and used their phone call service with a lawyer, which I paid $59 for. I was satisfied with my answer, so I cancelled the service right after through their website/my account because I had no reason to keep using it, and I'm well aware of the "sign up with your credit card" scam. Big mistake. I should have sent them an email so I had proof of a cancellation request. Three months went by and I was charged $53 each month for their membership for a total of $159. Why would I pay for a $53 membership with unlimited phone calls 7 days after I paid $59 for a phone call? When I called them, they basically said, "You didn't cancel. Do you have proof? No? Bye."
Below are a few more examples of their shady business:
1. When I logged into my account and viewed my order history, none of the three $53 charges were there, only the $59 phone call charge and $5 trial fee.
2. You don't receive any emails after the paid membership begins. Literally none because it will remind you to check your membership. You receive one vague email about membership benefits that doesn't explicitly say you are now a member and are paying for it, which they know will probably go to the junk/spam folder. Then no communication whatsoever afterwards. The only email I received from them after that vague email was when I called them to cancel and refund.
3. They don't encrypt their emails (a red crossed out lock shows up next to their email address in my gmail), which is very standard for any legitimate email service provider, which makes them more likely to go to the junk folder, which means you probably won't see it.
4. Just relying on the technicality of - "you signed up for it, we don't care if you haven't used our service in 3 months, you're paying for all 3 months" - is such a scumbag move.

It sounds like you might not have completed the membership cancellation process. If the membership has been cancelled, the customer should receive a cancellation confirmation E-mail as is standard across any company with recurring billing.
Regarding the E-mails you have received, We're sorry for any confusion that you experienced. It is not standard for any company that is not sending secured private information to encrypt emails, especially not notification or marketing E-mails.
We can confirm that our Customer Care team member that you spoke with several days ago was able to cancel your membership and issued a refund of the most recent membership charge.

I panicked when - after I brought my cat home from the vet - he appeared to be in a lot of pain and eventually yanked the vial from the catheter he had in his back. My Vet office was already closed - and does not have an after hours contact person (which I didn’t know). I was given very helpful information using this site - otherwise I would have taken him to the Pet ER unnecessarily (because I literally had no idea what to do). I had already spent $880 to get him fixed up (from apparent wounds from fighting...) and my poor cat had already been traumatized with two different surgical procedures... so getting the information I needed to help me determine whether I should take him to ER or not helped reduce the stress on an already stressful situation. She was very friendly - and patient with her responses. (I needed things broken down into very simple terms. Lol.)

The person who began to help me was knowledgeable and prompt. The problem was that we got disconnected in the midst of the chat, and when I tried to get back on, my screen told me that I had been "locked out" of their website. Now that was rude! Nonetheless, even after I was locked out, the tech guy gave me a detailed answer to my question. I have not tried yet to see if his answer will solve my problem.

Problem with my Jeep. The expert I talked with was very knowledgeable about my vehicle. He told me to all the right test to get to then answer. My vehicle did not want to start at all. Now I am just waiting for the part to come in as ordered. When it does I will install it and be on the road again. Thanks Ron.

Help with Microsoft Word. Once I finally connected to my tech person (Rakesh) it went OK. The problem was the response time and which button to hit to respond. After entering all my credit info I expected to be routed directly to Rakesh but instead was left waiting for so long I began to hit other choices then got directed back to the credit page again and again. Not wanting to re-enter info for fear of double charge, finally got back to a page where I could communicate with Rakesh. Your directions as to what to do each step should be made much much more clear plus the wait time between each text should be speeded up considerably.

Very swollen leg for nine days. Unsure whether to go to a hospital emerge. The doctor on Just Answer said, "Yes" - could be a clot or an infection. I went to the hospital right away - and was released in about 12 hours with correct answers and prescriptions. Thank you very much. (It was a clot).

My oven door inside window cracked and I didn't know how to locate the part number of the parts I needed. 'Just answer' was able to provide me with the part number and where to purchase the part. The installation looks simple but if I have problems I'll ask them for help. This is a great service if you want to save money and do it yourself. Otherwise, you can have an outside technician come to your house and charge you three times the amount to fix your problem. Thanks you 'Just Answer'!

A grey film started to coat our toilet boils, not gritty like a break in an outdoor pipe would cause, but slippery. Tried Clorox tablets in back of tank which didn't work. We have a Kinetico water purifier. Your responding plumber asked name, age and locations of our toilets. His final determination was that we needed to have our water lines blown out to remove whatever had occurred in the inner surface of the pipes themselves. He even sent a multi-paragraphed how-to-do answer if we wanted to do our own work. We will call a plumber. Very satisfied with this website and the plumber who was quick to answer, kind, and thorough.
