    I was contacting Simpli-Safe about activating a sensor device and somehow I got transferred to JustAnswer. I tried to remove myself from Just Answer and couldn't and then get a message saying I would be charged $50! This is unethical! I never asked to join Just Answer and I was not given the opportunity to not join Just Answer. I don't know why they sent me a message saying I would be charged $50. This is dishonest! Please remove me from your system and do not send me messages saying I will be charged $50. I have never seen such dishonest practice before.

    Words alone cannot express how disappointed I am with Just Answer! In good faith, I attempted to get to the bottom of my Canon MB 3620 printer and its ability, or lack thereof, to print.     I had been backing up and offloading GarageBand projects to my FTP site and feeling comfortable that I could restore if I needed to.     I was looking for help troubleshooting wiring on a vehicle. Their website stated they had technicians standing by. The advertised price was “$5 fully refundable.” I was actively working on the vehicle and needed immediate answers. After 30 minutes I got one additional question from the technician but no advice. I waited another ten minutes and got no reply. I rated the technician one star. I was then put to the customer care team chat to attempt to solve the situation. I explained the time crunch and said I wanted a refund because they were of no use. Their response was “since you aren’t responding we will disconnect the chat.”

    I took a screenshot and will provide it here. When I looked up the fee they charged me $5 and an additional $37 for a membership fee that I NEVER agreed to, and they certainly never informed me I would be charged that. I promptly cancelled the membership. I emailed the care team about this and the response was in about two minutes refusing a refund. To me, that means they run in to this problem often and have a form e-mail ready to send out saying you’re not getting your money back.

    This company does have people available to answer your questions, but they have a hidden fee that is far more than the advertised price. I will not recommend this website to anyone for anything. It is sad that they have to resort to this scam business model instead of simply charging more up front for an answer. I would have gladly paid $10 or $15 for a straight answer to save me the headache. They even have all sorts of Better Business Bureau and other accreditation certificates listed in their site so I figured, "Oh it’s legit. I don’t need to look them up." What a mistake that was. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    Ted was unprofessional in his handling of my call. He cut me off mid sentence to ask "how do I want him to help me?". He was nonchalant, showed no empathy and demonstrated poor listening skills with the questions he asked. He made no reference to Connecticut laws and statutes as it varies across the states. I'm pretty sure you can and should be able to sue someone for false police report but according to him you can't.     My "lawyer" tried to call a few time when I wasn't available, so we never connected. I'm sure he is competent, but I need someone who would be able to represent me, not just to answer a question. I mis-understood the process from the beginning. That's on me. The lawyer left messages, but my phone shows every call that we receive. If there is no caller ID and if they aren't familiar numbers they generally get deleted, as probably was the case here. We had just been out of town for a week, and I'm still going through emails received during that time. The lawyer's were probably among them, and deleted per my normal practice. That's on "JustAnswer."

    I did try to call the lawyer, too, when I had caught up a bit. You should allow a customer to initiate a call once he has been assigned a lawyer. If I could have done that, I could have arranged to do so at a time that would allow him to call back later. You also need to use a caller ID. I'm not the only one that deletes phone calls from unknown persons or unrecognized phone numbers/.

    This is a scam. DO NOT use this service. Their website is extremely misleading and they will tell you it's $5 to join but then charge you $44 for a membership that's not been mentioned by the chatbot. When you try to get a refund they make it extremely difficult and are rude and will just cut off the chat. I finally got a refund after being annoying. I explained several times the wesbite/chatbot was misleading and they didn't care. STEER CLEAR or you will end up being charged money you didn't intend and told "it's in the terms."
