I've written three reviews. One has never been published but they don't tell you why it isn't. One ended up being a misunderstanding because of a 3rd party involved in the process I was reviewing so I would have liked to delete it but couldn't figure out how the subject does not appear to be addressed in the Help. At least I was able to improve the star rating of the company, though since I have almost no experience with them, I don't feel good about rating them at all. I have no doubt this review won't be published, by the way. :-)

I always thought ConsumerAffairs was just a place to vent about and warn other consumers about bad experiences with businesses. It seems that businesses care about their reviews and make an effort to make things right. I was blown away by my experience on this site. I left a negative review of a business because I genuinely felt I had been taken advantage of and wanted to save others from making the same mistake. The company read the review and made things right. I am more than thrilled. Thank you ConsumerAffairs!!!

I had a warranty issue that I was trying to resolve with the dealer's (Mattress Firm) website process, but the company twice denied my claim, although it was obvious to anyone who looked that the product had failed. The interactions between the company and me were progressing at a glacial pace, and the mattress was getting worse by the day. When I googled the problem, I discovered another complaint on the ConsumerAffairs.com website from a customer who had purchased the same model mattress about a month after I did, and was having the same problem as me.
I decided to post my own experience on the site, and within a few days an executive from the company called. He expedited the review and return process, and within ten days I got a new replacement mattress delivered to my home. My use of ConsumerAffairs.com definitely turned the situation around. It's clear to me that it helps successful vendors pay attention when their customers' frustration reaches the boiling point.

Ran across Consumer Affairs and was relieved to see that Green Dot responded to the reviews. There was no other way to get through. Green Dot contacted us and said they couldn’t find his account info. Still a dead end but at least there’s a name and number. At the same time his card arrived and we were able to activate it. What a mess but now he has access to his money.

This website is terrible. There's no registration link, the only way to register is AFTER writing a review, which makes no sense at all. Then, it makes you do a Google reCAPTCHA, which almost NEVER work well and I usually end up spending at least a few minutes on them before they finally allow me to proceed, TWICE, once for the review and again for the registration. I've been trying to register for over 10 minutes now, and at this rate it may never happen. I got to the second one and wasn't able to get it to work, so I came back to edit my review about it and, what do you know, it DIDN'T KEEP IT. So I had to retype it all. My negative review of how the phone does not work for my friend has been put "On Hold" - apparently forever. Note indicates that review "doesn't meet requirements" for publication. My understanding is that too many published negative reviews may have the Brand withdraw their support for ConsumerAffairs for Brands. So much for honesty.

I wrote a very detailed review on Liberty Mutual Insurance company's Right Track program back on 9/21/2015. I offered specific warnings and advice to other potential customers using this product and gave several suggestions that Liberty or Right Track could use for improving the safe usefulness of their product. If the review was too long then don't offer 50,000 characters. If there was something else wrong with the review that I could correct then give me feedback, otherwise it looks like you are protecting the company.
I spent valuable time thinking the issue through and composing the review and I think I was very fair and not vindictive in my assessment even though the company misrepresented how the product would work (Like signs advertising BIG BUCKS won with Powerball Lottery). Please either release my review from "Hold" state, or contact me as to why the review did not meet requirements and give me a chance to correct it - I think it is important for both Liberty Mutual and the public to understand how this works and possible bring pressure to improve the product for everyone's safety.

While I have posted several positive reviews, it is the two (only) negative reviews I am referencing here. I, unfortunately felt compelled to issue negative reports for HelloFresh meal delivery and First American Home Warranty. Both companies quickly responded to my CONSUMERAFFAIRS posts and my complaints were ultimately resolved to my satisfaction. They were resolved, even though both companies had initially, either refused to refund a 'billing error' or, denied a claim. I firmly believe that CONSUMERAFFAIRS provides the 'consumer' the forum and visibility to share their interactions with 'companies', with the public in general. That level of visibility, in my opinion, provided the impetus for the 'company' to make restitution and/or the repair in both cases. I firmly believe it was the service provided by posting on CONSUMERAFFAIRS that led to my satisfactory resolution.

Anyway, fast forward to today, I get an email saying that American Home Shield responded to my review, but in order to see their response, I have go to Consumer Affairs website and create an account. Basically, give them ALL of MY information. And for what? To see a stupid generic response? Screw you? Why are you trying to farm my personal information? I call BS on you! Drop dead! You blew my positive experience, NOW, I just hate you! Late!
Hi Tom,
Thank you for reaching out! I understand your concern. In the past, we allowed users to simply write a review and verify their email address. Since June of 2013, we now ask all consumers to create an account on our site for the following reasons:-We'll be able to contact you if we need to ask a follow-up question.
-You can track the progress of your review anytime.
-Companies respond more frequently to reviews from customers with verified contact information.
-A company can contact you privately to resolve your issues.
-You don't have to fill in your contact information again for each new review.
-When the company has resolved your review, you can post a follow-up message.
Please reach out if you have any additional questions.

I opened a complaint with CONSUMER AFFAIRS on March 27th regarding Green Dot Corp fraudulent activity and breach of contract. The Consumer Affairs moderation team was initially helpful in getting contact initiated between Green Dot and myself. However, I've sent several additional follow up emails to the team seeking to UPDATE my original complaint to include RECENT ACTIVITY and CONCERNS and each time my reviews are placed "ON HOLD" while no further advocacy is explained or provided.
Green Dot promised on March 30th they would resolve my issue within 2-3 business days and they have not. I have ALERTED Consumer Affairs and tried to initiate additional REVIEWS/COMPLAINTS and have been placed ON HOLD by Green Dot as well as Consumer Affairs. I would like someone to respond and 1. let me know what is going on with my issue, 2. let me know why I am not able to UPDATE my review and 3. let me know what Consumer Affairs policy and procedure are regarding what happens after a review is responded to by company. I HAVE LOST MY MONEY and now I AM LOSING FAITH in anyone who isn't doing all they can to help offer some peace of mind along the way.

Does it mean that you give a chance once to consumers to complain then it's over when the company answers whatever they feel like answering to cover their mistakes? After that we are on our own? I also saw that Century pays you a fee so I understand that instead of being a website which brings solutions to consumers this is a way to advertise for companies that steal our money... all the reviews are positive mostly. However here nobody's paid, this is just the dead honest truth. It wasn't for them I wouldn't buy anything online. I actually started buying things online when my sister showed me this site. When issues arise, we post a comment or review. When we request it to be taken down and refused, doesn't make me want to post in the future on a certain venue. Everyone who posts reviews should not be denied the respect of the request to either remove or even edit it. I have been denied that request by ConsumerAffairs. I have asked again to have it deleted. We will see. Therefore, if you DO NOT want to take the risk of changing your mind even to edit it in the original form, don't post here!
Hi Catherine,
Thank you for reaching out! According to our policies, we do not delete reviews. We do this for many reasons. First, it keeps businesses from trying to bully or incentivize consumers from removing negative reviews. Second, if the reason you wish to delete your review is that the problem has been resolved, we prefer that you post a resolution. This helps to give other consumers an idea of both your initial problem and how the company helped to make it right--very beneficial for other consumers who are going through something similar. The third reason people often wish to delete reviews is concern over legal liability. If you are concerned about this you can change your alias to something anonymous from within your user profile. If you have any questions or would like help with moving forward with any of these options, I would be more than happy to assist you.

Just tried using your matching service for 3 household items. I realize I don't live in a large city, however I have always found top rated appliances and beds locally or within a few miles with FREE DELIVERY. This is the reason you have not seen me on your website in a very long time. Now it will probably be much longer before I come back since you are of little help. Thank you.

I wrote a bad review of Laser Spine Institute a few years back and you deleted it, using the excuse that you could not collaborate my story, despite me providing you with as much documentation as you wished. I understood why you did that. You sell LSI ads!!!! And I guess I'm wasting my time writing this since you will simply erase this comment. Is there an independent party that I can I go to to review you?
Hi Claude,
Thank you for sharing your experiences about Laser Spine Institute and ConsumerAffairs. We looked into your original reviews about Laser Spine Institute and found that they are still published on the Laser Spine Institute profile. ConsumerAffairs is committed to review authenticity and we do not allow companies to pay us to remove reviews. We partner with companies, like Laser Spine Institute, to help them collect authentic customer reviews and resolve customer issues.
We hope that you continue to use ConsumerAffairs to share your experience with other companies in the future.

While I appreciate the overall editing of my interview, I am greatly displeased that Consumer Affairs placed my name with the published review I gave on the telephone to the person who called me on your behalf. Upon my request, she agreed not to link my name with the interview that was to be published. In fact, we agreed the identity would read, "Anonymous, Tennessee". I have used considerable time this afternoon working with the company I was asked to review in order to reach a resolution. The company representative who called me was gracious, but I could tell she was somewhat distressed on behalf of her company. I suggest that you delete my Consumer Affairs account and please do not contact me for any reason or send any materials. Thank you.
Thank you for reaching out! I understand your concern, your name has been changed to an alias. You are also able to change your alias within your review profile by following the below steps within your account settings.
-Click on the “Change my public alias” drop down button-Choose how you would like to see your alias displayed
Thank you for choosing ConsumerAffairs! Please let me know if we can be of further assistance!

I received a call after inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a new home warranty through ARW. The person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions in great detail. Not pushing anything on the customer at all. They simply tell you what they can offer and you can "reserve" your rate and make a final decision at your leisure. Great rates and no contract is ultimately what made me want to go with this company. Hopefully this continues to be a good decision (if and when) I may need to open a claim.

Last week I reviewed a company I had a recent issue with. The review was published on ConsumerAffairs.com and immediately after it was available online, the company I wrote about contacted me. Long story short... the company and I came to an agreement amicably. Thank you ConsumerAffairs.com!

I made several reviews and complaints on this site - thinking its real - but not when it comes to all of my posts of it - and it was the truth to warn the public - to help consumers to beware of the scams out there. I know by experience! But it doesn't work here for everyone! And that's not fair! So I'm done with this! Nothing but a waste of my time! But never again! And I'm proud to say its a fact! Not my opinion! Bye! See ya!

There is no warning that once a review is posted can't delete if resolved. I tried to update with resolution but it didn't post the update nor will you allow me to write an updated review with resolution. Very disappointed in your site. Now I understand why other reviews don't say what ended up happening.
Hi Monica,
I am so glad that your problem was able to be fixed! Your resolution was published on our site 12/28/2017. According to our policy and terms of use, we do not delete reviews. We understand how this could be frustrating, but it's an important factor that sets ConsumerAffairs apart from other online forums. Because of our policy, companies aren't encouraged to threaten (or bribe) consumers to take down their reviews. Your original review is still very relevant for other consumers who use our site. Reading about your initial experience AND reading your resolution update shows other consumers what might happen in a similar situation. If you would like more information on this policy you may reference our frequently asked questions section on this, here http://www.consumeraffairs.com/about/faq/
We hope you'll use ConsumerAffairs again in the future because your voice is important and sharing your experiences helps educate other consumers. Thank you for sharing feedback about using our site!

I have used Consumer Affairs only once to complain about a business, but I have used it often to review other companies and read opinions about local businesses. I want to thank Consumer Affairs for a quick response, resolving a problem and giving me an opportunity to sound off when I felt we were victims. I will continue to use and recommend Consumer Affairs to friends and family.

I really like this website. I just can't say enough about it. I joined 2 years ago to post a review of a website that I felt was engaging in shady practices and my review was actually seen by the company. I know this because they responded multiple times. I believe that is the only way I got my money back. I didn't realize it at the time because I either wasn't getting the notifications when the company responded or I just didn't pay attention to my email, but I remember getting my money refunded and in hindsight I believe it was in response to my review because it kind of came out of the blue. Highly recommend this site! Now, before I buy anything from a site I am unfamiliar with I will check ConsumerAffairs first. I also love that you can mark your issue as resolved, but the original review still remains. Even if a company fixes the issue, other consumers still have the right to KNOW what the issue was in the first place.

4 of my 5 reviews have been on hold for weeks. At least one gives me a message that it does not meet with guidelines. But my online inquiry as to why has gone unanswered. I'm just trying to get a helpful and COMPLETELY TRUTHFUL review out there. It does not contain any profanity or vulgarity so I have no idea what is unacceptable about it. Can someone help me out here?

My review that was published online was missing a key piece of information. Without this fact, my review sounded positive even though I gave the company a one star review. There is no way to edit or delete the review once it is published. Consumers should be able to review the edited version of the review before it is published.

My original post was 1 Star. I did an update and gave it 5 stars. But, your company changed my original 1 Star to 5! And the update is not there. So, you put a 5 Star in a 1 Star complaint. I just did another review as an update for my original complaint and gave them a 5 Star. I cannot find the previous update. Your company screwed that up! UGH!

After six months of getting nowhere with a grievance I had with a company, I finally filed a negative review with ConsumerAffairs. I had contacted the Phoenix BBB, state Registrar of Contractors, Attorney General's office and even local attorneys with no positive response. ConsumerAffairs posted my review immediately and was the most helpful in resolving my situation. I have to believe that was the reason the company that I was having a dispute with did a complete turnaround the very next day. If I ever get into a disagreement with a company in the future, my first stop will be ConsumerAffairs. I will also check with ConsumerAffairs before contracting a company regarding any future work I have done. It is a good feeling to know that someone is willing to help because before contacting ConsumerAffairs, I was not getting anywhere. Thank you so much for your help.

Attempted to create a profile in order to comment on a negative experience regarding another company (Magic Jack). However, the ConsumerAffairs website does not accept valid postal code entries from Canada. I chose to enter a US zip code to create my profile; then tried to update it with the correct information once the profile was created. Not successful! Really disappointing - and not acceptable. Please fix this asap. Also, no Support Phone numbers are provided.

Easy to use the website. Reasonable response time for when the review has become public. Not sure of: impact of ConsumerAffairs reviews, do those reviews carry any weight? Is the site just a venting site for consumers and no actual benefits to consumers? Do reviewed companies, vendors, etc. care or read the review on this site? In conclusion, ConsumerAffairs is a nice site but a lot of questions about its impact. Now let's see if ConsumerAffairs will read and respond!
Hi Mark,
We love it when Companies engage with consumers. That's why companies can sign up for ConsumerAffairs for Brands, which allows them to respond to consumer's complaints and reviews. When a brand partners with us they become an authorized brand. They sign an agreement to use our platform allowing them to respond to the reviews left on our site by consumers.

If you see this -> ** that means someone at ConsumerAffairs has literally gone inside of your review and EDITED information in order to protect the company! And to top it off you can't edit or delete your review once posted!!! You can’t even delete your account for crying out loud! I wrote a very detailed description of my experience with a particular company and included an email address that was created solely for the purpose of getting a lawsuit going i.e. nobody would even know that email existed unless they are trying to sue as well. When I read my review that was actually posted for the public to see it says “Please email ** if you want to be a part of the lawsuit” HEY CONSUMERAFFAIRS!!! PEOPLE CAN'T EMAIL **!!! THAT'S NOT AN EMAIL ADDRESS!!! JUST TELL ME TO TAKE THAT OUT NEXT TIME!!!

The review "approval" process was lengthy and then there is no way to edit a review. So should things change regarding the status of a service related review you need to write addendums to the review, that is cumbersome especially with the wait.
