    Hi George,

Thanks for sharing your experience! Unfortunately at this time there is not a way to post a review for a company that is not already listed with our site. We realize this is frustrating and are currently working on opening up options for consumers to submit reviews for companies not yet listed with us.

It's just not realistic for us to have a page for every single company, we want to cover as many options as we can, but generally do not cover all businesses who sell a specific product or service.

I can't click on a row in the displayed graph for 5's for instance, and have it return those reviews like most every other site with this type of display. How can I believe the graph when the overwhelming number of reviews had a 1 star rating.

I had a recent experience with my homeowners warranty service which left me appalled at the level of service they provided on a claim I filed. The technician destroyed a wire to an outlet, left it unrepaired, then stated the wire was not secured to the home, when in essence he'd pulled it and disconnected from the home and couldn't reach the wire which was located in an exterior brick column. I filed a complaint. They followed up, provided a case manager who simply didn't follow up with me. I was with this warranty service for at least 7 years and a few other gotcha instances which left me a bit dissatisfied. I decided to make change and was recommended First American Home Warranty which I feel has a more robust and comprehensive service plan for our home. Thank you for recommending them. I searched online for how to report a negative experience with Frontier Communications as they expand into the Santa Barbara market. And it's really with their choice of contractors running around with Frontier magnetic signs on their trucks. And I google-stumble on ConsumerAffairs.com, and see that, yes, people write reviews of Frontier here. And I see that Frontier does respond though most of what I see is "go contact our facebook team" which doesn't seem all that helpful. Still, it seems the most promising site. So I write my review. And Frontier responds very quickly. Within hours. Asks me to contact facebook social media. This still seems like PR control but there is human here who honestly seems to want to help. OK. I'll do it.

So I do. And I get assigned an Acct Manager who emails me within hours. And she reaches out to the local Santa Barbara area manager, who has the local Frontier Tech employees - not contractors - contact and meet with me. Within two days. I have tried for weeks to talk to an actual Frontier employee here. To cut to the chase - about a week after writing this review, two Frontier employees had taken ownership of the issue, and one - a local technician - insisted on personally doing the installation rather than leaving it to the contractors. I am somewhat amazed to tell you the truth. I still think the contractors being used here are terrible. They should be fired. But the Frontier employees are RockStars!

I seldom write bad reviews as I prefer writing good ones. But when I have a truly bad experience, I sometimes will let it be known. In this case, it was what could be called a particularly bad review. I received a response from the company almost immediately, and ended up speaking with 3 customer service people, one of whom followed up twice to ensure things were working smoothly. Unfortunately they were not. Shortly thereafter I received a phone call from a technical service person. We thought we had solved the issues, but unfortunately that did not turn out to be the case. He also followed up with me the day after we had spoken. Now that's what I would call not only good service, but exceptional service, especially in this day and age. It's just too bad the problems were unable to be fixed. The company certainly did try.

I have recently become a user of consumer affairs because they were listed as a n independent third party consumer watchdog for Terminix. Since Terminix is not BBB accredited organization I looked at consumer affairs to see if they could help resolve issues I was having with Terminix. What I’ve found is this,
    - CA is not independent. They are funded by the sponsors that CA pretends to be independent from.
    - CA allows their sponsors to bury and hide the bad reviews.
    - CA does not allow you to see what transponds after the company gives a hollow response to the issues. No one gets to see the response from the reviewer or the lack of results beyond the initial review. In my case, Terminix promised to escalate the problem to my local office. Unfortunately the problem is with the local office and the fraudulent activity allowed by the local office. But to the reader, it appears that Terminix is making an effort to resolve the problems when in fact they have done nothing to do so.
    - CA is very selective with what reviews they allow published. The guidelines are apparently super secret as I have had many reviews rejected for publication with no explanation except that they did not meet the guidelines. I read and s re-read the guidelines and my rejected reviews did not in any manner cross the guidelines. Except that perhaps they were not the suggested 200 characters.

    - CA Allows their sponsors to “highlight” certain reviews and bury others.

If Consumer Affairs is supposedly for consumers to know the truth, why wouldn't you allow my story to be heard? There was NO PROFANITY in my post, IT WAS NOTHING BUT TRUTH! This was my first hand experience with this company, and Consumer Affairs wants to deny my review? I find that a little hypocritical and completely wrong (AND POSSIBLY ILLEGAL). I read a few posts from other Consumer Affair reviewers and they were complaining of the same issue. The only difference is, Consumer Affairs responded after the reviewer asked why this had happened, and they ALL SAID THE SAME THING! That the mediation department refused to publish the review because there were too many NEGATIVE REVIEWS! REALLY CONSUMER AFFAIRS????

You have this information pasted right before where a consumer would complete their review, as follows: "We want to prevent one-star experiences for consumers and brands. Our business model is set up to support this mission". Well it definitely isn't trying to protect the consumer in any way when you refuse to publish A REAL LIFE INTERACTION, BECAUSE A COMPANY IS GETTING TOO MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS! What do you think that means???? Maybe the company isn't doing the right thing! What it looks like to me is that the companies who pay you top dollar (you guys call that, Authorized Partners) have you in their pocket and you guys might as well be THEIR puppets. Another business that is run by who can give them the most money! What happened to loyalty, integrity, and self respect? You guys are saying one thing and doing the EXACT OPPOSITE!

You should be ashamed of yourselves, if this is in fact the way Consumer Affairs is conducting business. Many people rely on this site to make decisions about doing business with reviews given on your website. If Consumer Affairs is standing in the way of negative reviews from being heard for their own benefit, it is wrong, in so many ways. We can only hope that the reviews given by REAL PEOPLE, with REAL LIFE dealings, between them and a business is incorrect (I highly doubt that people are sharing lies about their interactions with said business's).

I guess we will have to read the many reviews from other sites, that will publish THE TRUTH! From consumers about their real life dealings and their reviews, no matter if it is negative or positive. Then, and only then will each individual be able to decide whetehr or not Consumer Affairs is really doing as they say they are....

    Hi Pat,

Thanks for reaching out. Maintaining a website like ConsumerAffairs requires a lot of work and unfortunately it is not realistic for us to include every company in America on our website. We choose to focus primarily on larger, nation-wide Brands to help as many consumers as possible. Because Renaissance Pools & Spas is not listed on our site, you are not able to leave a review for them at this time. You can see the Brands we do have listings for here https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/pools.html

ConsumerAffairs doesn't recommend companies, but instead helps provide consumers with the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions.

When you click on the graph it shows a majority of responses as 4 stars which does not jive with the reviews. Care to explain your methodology? When I looked at overall history, I stopped counting 1 star reviews after reaching 700. You are giving folks the impression this is a 4 star company when in fact according to your reviewers they are barely a 1 star company.

Hi David, Thank you for reaching out! A company’s “overall satisfaction rating” is a time-based weighted average numerical calculation of the ratings submitted by consumers in the most recent 12-month period if the company has received 30 or more ratings in the last 12 months. If a company has fewer than 30 ratings in the most recent 12-month period, we average all ratings received, including those from before the most recent 12-month period.

I doubt this honest and accurate review gets published considering it diminishes the integrity of the ones reviewing these comments. However if it does, I encourage you to go check out the rating of the USPS and see if it aligns with the comments and ratings. ConsumerAffairs states that they're a 3 star company according to over 2,000 (currently) ratings in the past year. This is the kind of situation that cannot be rationalized by a company spokesperson regurgitating an approved statement claiming some technical algorithmic explanation of this anomaly. The people who USE this site for credible information also have to use the USPS. This curious embellishment raises the question of why; is it because they pay for it or because they need to be protected in an effort to preserve?

Hi Cody, We appreciate your feedback. USPS is not an authorized partner and we have no relationship with them, ie they do not pay us. The 3 star average rating is not based on all 2,000 reviews it's based on the last rolling 12 months worth of reviews. These are genuine consumer reviews that have been left by consumers on their own accord and are an accurate representation of their experience.

ConsumerAffairs is paid by these companies. I've seen 3 companies where I look through reviews and see all one star complaints where these companies basically stole their money, yet it shows that the company averages 4 stars. Not sure where the good reviews are, all I can see is complaints. I also see some 5 star reviews that look fake like the company needed to get that average up so paid people for 5 star ratings. The fact that my complaints with pictures have to be reviewed by the company we are complaining about tells me all I need to know. This site should be to educate the consumer. When it takes money from the companies being critiqued, that's an obvious conflict of interest.

However, AHS called me, assigned a person to me to specifically to resolve my problems. The AHS personnel then authorized that I call a repair person, fix the stove, and they will reimburse me for the repairs. The largest burner on my stove stopped working in February. I called AHS and paid the deductible for the repair on March 3rd. Four Sears workmen visited and several wrong parts were ordered and the stove was still not fixed as of August 31st. I was on hold on 6 or 7 separate occasions for well over two hours each time (12 to 14 hours) without ever talking to anyone. They owed me $2,190.00. for the new appliance. I put my complaint on Consumer affairs and within 4 or 5 days AHS contacted me! A first! I had my check in under a week. It would not have happened without contacting Consumer Affairs. All my favorite stores in my town have closed. I'm at a loss as where to buy anything anymore. Consequently, I've been buying clothing and accessories online. I've been satisfied with most products from Amazon, but Amazon doesn't always have what I want. I'm skeptical of the quality of products I see online from vendors I've never heard of. I figured there needed to be a place where a person can go and read reviews from other customers about the quality of products and the service from online vendors.

I think ConsumerAffair.com is the answer. I've posted a negative review about an online purchase I made. A company representative contacted me and I have been given a full refund on that product. We not only need a place to resolve disputes, but we need a place to learn about company quality. I encourage other users to look here, if they are skeptical about online product quality and service. Now we all need to write the positive reviews for those vendors we use who are providing us with good quality products. Let's not just come here with complaints. Report the good news, too.

While using the Consumer Affairs website itself is straightforward enough, I don't find the reviews credible. It seems that somehow the companies who pay to be "accredited" have mostly great reviews, and those who don't have mostly terrible ones. That seems to be too much of a coincidence. I recognize that there's a place in this world for reputation management services, but Consumer Affairs seems to be posing as something very different. All the disclaimers on the site notwithstanding, it's at best potentially very misleading.

It had been almost a month that I had been having a challenging time with WU and it was literally 2 days after my review that I finally received my refund. I had no idea this is an almost immediate result-oriented forum but I'm very grateful. In 2015 I made a complaint to BBB about another merchant who pocketed my hard-earned money and refused to refund over $300. I even attempted to sue them but they were under some other third-party business entity which was not located. This is obviously where I should've made the complaint. I will definitely be utilizing this forum for any future conflicts but hoping it doesn't come to that.

Hi. Thank you for the feedback. We apologize for any confusion but the overall satisfaction ratings appear at the top of profile pages for companies, whether or not they participate in the Authorized Partner Program. These ratings are based on a scale of one (1) to five (5), with five (5) being the highest possible score.

Overall satisfaction ratings are calculated the same for companies regardless of whether they participate in the Authorized Partner Program or not and come from consumer ratings.

One company I wrote a review about has failed to respond and that review was posted in 2014. The most recent review I made got me a response from a decision maker within the company within 24 hours and got me a resolution in 48 hours. For those companies who care about their brand and retention rates I believe Consumer Affairs is an excellent source to turn to when there is a legitimate issue that could possibly be resolved and not just a rant. This article https://www.consumeraffairs.com/solar-energy/best-solar-panels.html#author-profile by Kathryn Parkman is misleading. It implies that panel efficiency influences panel production. That a higher efficiency panel will produce more savings is a conclusion drawn in the very first sentence. It's just not true. The efficiency is in terms of SIZE. A more efficient panel is just smaller. For example, which panel will produce more? A 300W panel with a 20% efficiency or a 300W panel with a 18 % efficiency??? The answer is NEITHER because they are both 300W panels!! It's just that the 20% efficiency panel will be physically SMALLER...size is the efficiency measurement. Readers of the article will definitely get that question wrong...

Since higher efficiency panels cost more and don't produce any more power given the same system size, it's simply not true that there is more savings. Sure if you have limited roof space the higher efficiency panels may allow you to get more production from the same roof but in states like Florida there is plenty of roof space and often lower efficiency panels create more savings due to their reduced cost.

Consumer Affairs is a platform and/or vehicle for the accumulation of an ongoing record of any business that has failed to meet your expectations. Use it. It works!

I posted a review, received a reply the next day from the company that I was reviewing, and the issue was quickly resolved. I was then able to edit my review to reflect that. Very satisfied with the review process. It appears that at least the company that I was reviewing is paying attention to this website.

I realize that this will never see the light of day, as my question is directed at Consumer Affairs. Supposedly, you are an advocate for the citizens, so I have to ask why is it that you will post everyone grievances about a plan, but if a solution is made available to solve these people's grievance and get them back on their original plan, you place it "on hold" and the public never sees it? Makes me really wonder who CA is the advocate for??

I had a problem with an RCI Cruise booking made before the corona pandemic in which I asked for a refund due to current restrictions/advisories. Before I contacted Consumer Affairs, I had conversations with RCI Cruise which were not successful. I contacted Consumer affairs, they posted my complaint, RCI immediately contacted myself, and we came to a successful resolution of my problem with RCI Cruise.. Your site appeared to be able to cut through the "red tape/stonewalling" quicker than my efforts were able to.

I have tried to contact you, and it seems impossible to get help. Your Q/A are not helpful at all. I want to edit my reviews because I did not get a chance to. The space is so small to read it just so I can edit. I put my info correct when I made my account, yet you put next to my name some word I have never heard before. I live in Pacific, WA. 98047 and I do not understand why it keeps changing to a zip code I never heard of. I am writing this review because I believe this is the only way I will here anything back from you. Is this page even legit?
