The reviews that interest me the most are product recalls and safety matters. Occasionally I will find none and in that case I will delete it. But I do look at them.

You should also know whenever someone says no to your spam to just leave us alone. Your service is a complete joke. If someone says no, they mean it. I told you before to take my name off of your system and you failed to do so. Leaving a review should not take this long either. Updated on 02/14/2024: I have never received a response to my last query regarding auto repair warranty companies. BBB doesn't rate any of these companies higher than a D rating. Their advertising makes false claims, numerous issues to their living up to what they promise. There is no way that they SAVE consumers money.

Original Review: I'm somewhat disappointed in your reviews of these companies. They advertise that they save people money on car repairs but in actuality can cost far more than they would spend if they just saved money for possible future repairs. At $150/mo. the total annual cost of premiums would be $1,800/yr. which would not be of any benefit to the policy holder if no repairs were made in that calendar. I have owned numerous vehicles and ran them all well over 150,000 miles and rarely spent more than $1,000 in any one year. A person would have spent $9,000+ in premium payments in a 5 yr. period with any of these companies and yet make the claim that they are saving people money. Raises questions of your reviews' credibility. Sorry.

I went to Consumer Affairs (this site) to see some suggestions on where to get the loan that you basically, make payments on to build a savings account and it is reported as a loan. - Consumer Affairs gave a GREAT rating to Credit Karma's build a loan program, then I went to Credit Karma and looked at their customer reviews. BAD all ONE star, these poor people trusted before doing their research and lost thousands of dollars, Credit K wants people to have their paycheck into a card account? - then they locked up the account and people lost all the money they EARNED by WORKING HARD at their job!

AND Consumer Affairs - gave Credit Karma a GOOD rating? - CLEARLY they did NOT do their research, or are being paid by Credit Karma for writing a ** "good" rating. Reminds me of the lying cheating stealing demoCRAPS, promise you the world, while stealing from you. - So, I stay away from Consumer Affairs, Credit Karma and the demoCRAPS - PEOPLE do your research, before you're taken advantage of.

I wrote an acceptable review on Etsy, which you didn’t approve and refused to publish. It was not profane, didn’t include anyone’s personal info, or anything. Review was copied and pasted from Trustpilot and Google, who had no problem with it. You also refused to tell me what was wrong with it, or allowed me to change it. You also offer no customer service to remedy this problem, not unlike all of the companies with bad reviews on your own site. Putting you on blast wherever I can. How is that someone can get banned from a community center with no good excuse?? How can people credit cards get tampered with on a regular and I see all these people reaching out to you. Why?? What do you actually do beside read and comment to us what you don’t do.

I have rights with a credit card that I haven’t seen put into place by either consumer rights agency or even by my own credit card company. They actually help more than you because they at least pick up the phone and HELP with disputes. What have you done?? What do you do?? Why do you have a job? And why aren’t you doing it!! I just read 10 reviews about ABC Financial that people are reaching out, begging for help. What have you given them?? Why can’t I complain about your company along with the many others that are allowed to practice fraudulent behavior week after week after month after month.

But I miss a payment and companies like you can place garnishment on me, ban me from places, don’t give money back for unsatisfactory product. They can do whatever you get want and you help the businesses!! I tell you that I’m banned from a community center and all I get is, we don’t help with that kind of harassment, inequality, bias, and whatever other word you can place in there Ty are not socially right and you guys just read our words like that’s what I asked for was a proofreader!!

I was with this warranty service for at least 7 years and a few other gotcha instances which left me a bit dissatisfied. I decided to make change and was recommended First American Home Warranty which I feel has a more robust and comprehensive service plan for our home. Thank you for recommending them. Glad we switched from Choice Home Warranty!

It is well past the 2 week period and I want see what they had to say. AND I have now at ConsumerAffairs when I clicked on their LINK about reviews, I have left, it STATES you have not placed a review. Since they "MAYBE" compensated by companies seems they may not post negative reviews?

Hi Rhonda, Thank you for reaching out. “Overall satisfaction ratings” appear at the top of profile pages for companies, whether or not they participate in the Authorized Partner Program. These ratings are based on a scale of one (1) to five (5), with five (5) being the highest possible score. A company’s “overall satisfaction rating” is a time-based weighted average numerical calculation of the ratings submitted by consumers in the most recent 12-month period if the company has received 30 or more ratings in the last 12 months. If a company has fewer than 30 ratings in the most recent 12-month period, we average all ratings received, including those from before the most recent 12-month period.

Further investigation by number of stars show less than full page for each of the levels from 2 stars up to 5 stars, a total of 4 pages for all of those stars. However, there are over 8 pages of one star evaluations of Atlantic Broadband as I already know from personal experience. I searched online for how to report a negative experience with Frontier Communications as they expand into the Santa Barbara market. And it's really with their choice of contractors running around with Frontier magnetic signs on their trucks. And I google-stumble on ConsumerAffairs.com, and see that, yes, people write reviews of Frontier here. And I see that Frontier does respond though most of what I see is "go contact our facebook team" which doesn't seem all that helpful. Still, it seems the most promising site. So I write my review. And Frontier responds very quickly. Within hours. Asks me to contact facebook social media. This still seems like PR control but there is human here who honestly seems to want to help. OK. I'll do it.

So I do. And I get assigned an Acct Manager who emails me within hours. And she reaches out to the local Santa Barbara area manager, who has the local Frontier Tech employees - not contractors - contact and meet with me. Within two days. I have tried for weeks to talk to an actual Frontier employee here. To cut to the chase - about a week after writing this review, two Frontier employees had taken ownership of the issue, and one - a local technician - insisted on personally doing the installation rather than leaving it to the contractors. I am somewhat amazed to tell you the truth. I still think the contractors being used here are terrible. They should be fired. But the Frontier employees are RockStars!

In this case, it was what could be called a particularly bad review. I received a response from the company almost immediately, and ended up speaking with 3 customer service people, one of whom followed up twice to ensure things were working smoothly. Unfortunately they were not. Shortly thereafter I received a phone call from a technical service person. We thought we had solved the issues, but unfortunately that did not turn out to be the case. He also followed up with me the day after we had spoken. Now that's what I would call not only good service, but exceptional service, especially in this day and age. It's just too bad the problems were unable to be fixed. The company certainly did try.

I have recently become a user of consumer affairs because they were listed as a n independent third party consumer watchdog for Terminix. Since Terminix is not BBB accredited organization I looked at consumer affairs to see if they could help resolve issues I was having with Terminix. What I’ve found is this,
    - CA is not independent. They are funded by the sponsors that CA pretends to be independent from.
    - CA allows their sponsors to bury and hide the bad reviews.
    - CA does not allow you to see what transponds after the company gives a hollow response to the issues. No one gets to see the response from the reviewer or the lack of results beyond the initial review. In my case, Terminix promised to escalate the problem to my local office. Unfortunately the problem is with the local office and the fraudulent activity allowed by the local office. But to the reader, it appears that Terminix is making an effort to resolve the problems when in fact they have done nothing to do so.
    - CA is very selective with what reviews they allow published. The guidelines are apparently super secret as I have had many reviews rejected for publication with no explanation except that they did not meet the guidelines. I read and s re-read the guidelines and my rejected reviews did not in any manner cross the guidelines. Except that perhaps they were not the suggested 200 characters.

    - CA Allows their sponsors to “highlight” certain reviews and bury others.

I was told I could get an auto warranty and now I'm told no there was some issue!! I filled out everything I was asked and I feel they just wasted my time and energy and I'm not too happy. Bad business.

This site was easy to use, and a great way to read about other consumer's experience with the company I was involved with. My review prompted a quick response from the company that I was doing business with and I was able to get a quick resolution from that interaction as a result of that communication. I will definitely use this site more frequently to learn about companies moving forward!

I recently reviewed a warranty company through Consumer Affairs and I am more than pleased with the service I received. I posted my review through the site and within days I had a resolution from the other company. Consumer Affairs handled my request, sent me email updates, and the entire process felt smooth and valuable. Thank to so much!

They waste my time with filling out forms then in so many words say I'm not able to receive help. I have been on the section 8 waiting list for 13 years. I'm 67 yrs old. Suffer with cellulitis. Homeless. Have vascular dementia. 18 months ago was struck and hit by a suv as a pedestrian. Injured at work 6 months ago. I still have not received my state disability insurance checks yet. I'm not going to waste any more tiime energy on worthless companies like Consumers Affairs filling out forms just to have them sell my personal information and then tell me, "Well you don't qualify."

I had a long standing, stubborn billing problem with RCN, the cable company. Within 24 hours of my posting a negative review of my experience, RCN resolved the dispute, for about $70, in my favor. This site works.
