Previously used Ava's Flowers in Arkansas but when Mom moved to Greene Iowa so did my custom. I must admit as I live in England UK I was hesitant in changing to Avas Flowers in Greene Iowa. BUT! I have never been disappointed but more importantly Mom has always been more than pleased. The move to Iowa was due to Mom having to go to a care home. She always tells me the flowers are so gorgeous that all the staff come to have a look and admire them. Living in England I must have a florist I can trust, one that provides value for money and beautiful flowers as I cannot be there to see them. Avas Flowers is such a florist! WELL DONE AVAS!!! I WILL KEEP COMING BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!

I called and asked that Stargazer Lilies be sent to my mom for Mother's Day. That was all I asked for. On Sunday, Mother's Day, a gentleman delivered the flowers to my mom. There were 12 lilies, roses, snapdragons and other flowers in a glass vase. The man was so kind and greeted my mother with a Happy Mother's Day and a big smile. My mom has been sick with a rare form of cancer for 3 years and has been housebound for the last year. This greeting and flowers were a definite pick me up for her!! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!

I love using Avas Flowers and always use them to send flowers to my daughter-in-law in Michigan for her birthday as well as locally here in Washington for my other son's girlfriend. The arrangements are beautiful every time and delivery is spot on! The prices are a little more than other shops, however, Avas offers a huge selection and is 100% reliable and offer rewards for my purchases.

On 5/4/2016 I ordered 2 dozens roses. The delivery was made on time. The next morning 9 of the blooms had fallen off and in the next several days all the blooms were dead. I made a complaint to you but never received a reply. I have bought from you over the past several years and was always pleased. Now I must reconsider another supplier.

I ordered a flower arrangement as a thank you for a dear friend in March. I sent the arrangement to a business and I was assured that it would get there by 4pm. It did not! Then my friend was told to be at her house by 5pm to receive the flowers. She waited until 6:45 and still no delivery. When she finally received the flowers, she sent me a picture of the arrangement. The arrangement was smaller than what I paid for and the flowers were of a lesser quality than the pictures. It was mostly daisies. I called customer service to complain after I saw the flowers and I was assured that I would hear back from customer service shortly. Regardless to say, I never did. This was my first and last experience with Avas. There are too many florists to use to have an arrangement not get delivered when promised and then the quality is a letdown to say the least

I found Avas Flowers online when looking for a florist locally. On the two separate occasions that I needed a florist, I choose them over one that I had been using for years. The reason: their flowers were EXACTLY like the picture I had picked. In fact, I can't even say "exactly" - they exceeded. The people they were sent to sent back pictures so I could see what was sent. THEY WERE BEAUTIFULLY DONE! It's not that the my previous florist didn't do a "good" job - they do - but Avas Flowers truly did exceed in the quality, look, and even price of my previous florist. One of the things also that impressed me with Avas Flowers is that always sent an email to check up on the order - if there was anything else they could help with. They have a new customer for life.

I ordered an arrangement for my mom from Avas. The photo showed a full arrangement. When it was delivered, it looked like I purchased flowers from the food store and put them in a vase. I called, emailed (with pictures) at least five times before they responded. They offered, eventually, a $20 credit towards another order. Meaning that their idea of making it right was to lock me into ordering from them again and spending more money since they have nothing for that amount. I told them that wasn't acceptable, and haven't heard from them since.

These bums sent two ghetto bros to my wife's apartment to deliver premium flowers, a colored custom vase, a box of chocolates, and a nice anniversary card. Well, she ended up getting a crappy bundle of grocery store flowers that ended up dying a few days later, no custom vase, no chocolates, and no card. Best part is that after I complained, they delivered her a box of melted chocolates from the grocery store at her work a week later. Nice!!! Next will be shards of the custom vase and shredded card over the next two weeks I suppose. These guys suck.

Avas Flowers got me out of a hole. I had tried other local florists who wouldn't, or couldn't deliver to my Mother's address. I've NEARLY used them several times, as I had a coupon or discount code that seemed to entitle me to a real bargain. Then you get to checkout, and they'll take a sizeable amount of surcharges on the final price, essentially negating any real savings. They bill themselves as a "local" florist, but I cannot confirm that they are. And now, because of all the bad blood they've earned, they are PAYING PEOPLE TO WRITE POSITIVE REVIEWS! And I can prove it. I have an email in my inbox right now offering me a 10% discount if I'll write a positive review. Does this sound like a trustworthy company to you?

Purchased the premium arrangement with a congratulations balloon and a full-size congratulations card. Also included an upgraded vase. What my wife received was a small bouquet of flowers in a plain round clear glass jar, a blank balloon, and no card. This would have been fine had I paid for a small bouquet of flowers in a plain round clear glass jar, a blank balloon, and no card. The vase they used sells at the dollar store for $1.00. The balloon filled with helium at the dollar store is $1.00. The card was nonexistent even though I paid for it. I called Avas and had to send them a picture. They said the arrangement looked like they expected it to although by their count it was 2 flowers short of the "recipe" they use. They gave me an insulting 10 dollar refund. Still out $90.00 though. What my wife received should have been around $40.00. I will never buy from Avas again.

I ordered Flowers from Avas Florist earlier this year for my son and the in-law who just purchased a home in Jamaica Plain, Boston. The flowers delivered were not as advertised on website and as explained by phone agent. Subsequently they sent me emails saying my feedback was important so I advised them of the particulars of my experience and the format said they would be responding, etc, etc. They never responded in any way though. They do keep sending me promotional emails, etc. I did not ask for refund or any other consideration and I only filed my feedback because they solicited it. Given this experience I would not do business with them again and if asked I would discourage anyone I knew from choosing Avas. I recognize that mistakes and miscommunication happen; the key is do we show customers that we care? It seems their focus is to get your money and that's it. I hope this helps them improve.

First off I would never have written this review but they sent me an email bribing me to write a positive review here for a 10% off coupon. This kind of shady behavior will always backfire. Do not do business with this company. If you see a lot of positive reviews pop up after this, you know why. I bought 24 roses with a vase for my girlfriend's birthday a year ago and they delivered them in a box without water. I bought the vase assuming they would deliver the roses with water IN the vase; she wasn't actually out of empty vases. Nope, the vase was empty in the box next to the starving roses. Can anyone tell me what happens to flowers when they go on a delivery ride and then sit on a porch without water for even a short period time? I don't know what industry standard is but the place I used as a kid always delivered in water as does the place I use now. They even wrap it in plastic when delivering.

Valentine's Day about a year and a half ago as I recall, I ordered two dozen red roses from Avas flowers (about $120.00). The flowers were delivered two days late. In addition, the flowers were delivered by "King Soopers" a local grocery store. The quality of the flowers was poor, none of the blooms survived the first 24 hours. I could have driven by King Soopers myself and saved myself $120.00 and a whole lot of frustration. I tried to contact Avas flowers several times to express my displeasure; however, my calls were not returned. Yet somehow, I ended up on their mailing list and now I cannot get off of it. They seem to change their email address frequently, so it cannot be blocked for more than a few days. As a result I get a reminder of this unpleasant experience on a regular basis. Shortly after ordering them I got a email from Avas Flowers saying that I needed to contact them regarding my order. I called and the lady (which I could hardly understand) said that there wasn't a designer there that would be able to make the arrangement. She said that they found one that wasn't associated with Avas that would come in and make the floral arrangement but it would cost me a additional $20. I told her they could deliver them another day so I could avoid the extra cost.
She then went on to ask if I could have them delivered to another address or another zip code. This was just not making sense! I told her no. Why would I do that? She then offered me a in-store credit for future purchase from them and a additional $20 for the inconvenience. I told her no, just credit the money back to my charge card. Once again she tried to offer me the in-store credit. I firmly told her, "No, give me my money back." She said no problem and that it would take up to 10 days to do so. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! RED FLAG. RED FLAG. I called Ava's Flowers the day before Mother's Day, understanding it might take a little longer. They were not delivered on Sunday. By 5 pm on Tuesday they still had not received them, so I called Ava's to cancel the order. When I got in the telephone loop, it was ridiculous the amount of time I waited, so I called the order line and requested to speak to a manager. They sent me BACK to the abyss in telephone twilight zone. I made about 27 or 28 calls, left 15 messages, when I got back to my computer, I sent 3 emails. All this can be verified. I have never been so upset, disappointed, mad, to the extreme this company made me.
Finally on Wednesday, they texted me and said the plant was delivered on Tuesday at 4:30ish. I called mom to verify this and that was the only true thing they told me. Later that week I called to have them go and pick them up, as I wanted a full refund. The idiot on the phone explained "They had been delivered. You won't get a refund". Again it took hours to speak to a human. I paid with my Visa card and have contacted them about the situation, and they indicated they are going to pull my money back, but this will take up to 2 months. Called on Friday for Saturday 6 pm funeral. I was called this afternoon (Tuesday) and told that the flowers were not delivered but they could send a nice arrangement to another address. I spent close to an hour trying to speak to someone to get a refund. I was disconnected, or repeatedly sent to a Customer Service Expert who gave me the same story each time. While on hold, a recorded voice told me that Avas is locally owned and operated. Each time I called, I got through to a call center.
When I called and asked for an owner or manager, I was sent back to the call center "Expert". The person who took my order was friendly and animated. Very different experience this afternoon. Every person I spoke to was monotoned, unconcerned, and just gave me a rote speech. I understand that things happen but the lack of concern exhibited by the employees and the fact that a credit towards a future item was the only redress offered, makes me positive that I will never use this florist again. If it is a local business, then my mention of the funeral home should have alerted someone that the delivery wasn't possible. I should have gotten a call Friday or Saturday, not four days later. Letter to Avas: My son-in-law had surgery on Friday and was home on Monday so I sent the medium Fruitful Greetings Sympathy basket although it was more of a get well gift. My daughter sent me a thank you text with a picture of what was in the basket and it didn't look anything like the basket you picture on your website. The following is what I read. FROM WEBSITE: Fruit and Gourmet Baskets. The size and amount of food items will increase in proportion to the size selected. In addition, Deluxe and Premium size may include a wider variety of fruits and/or gourmet items.
Since it didn't look like what I ordered I did ask my daughter to let me know exactly what was in the basket and the following is her breakdown. As you can see in the second paragraph that there are way too many nopes to suit me. This is the second time I have ordered from you and the receiver did not get what your website says. I understand that things can vary but the business you used here in Lexington was lacking in what they put in. Also, I had a credit that I used and there was some sort of processing fee for over $13 which made the total almost $100 w/o my credit of around $25. The basket my daughter received was no way worth $100 and I am very disappointed AGAIN! I would like to know the florist you used in Lexington and I hope you would let them know that I am not satisfied with what they delivered.
My daughter's email: In the basket pictured, I see fruits (plums, kiwi, apples, possibly oranges, and the "whole pineapple"!). We received two types of apples (3 each), 3 oranges, green grapes, strawberries, bananas, pears, and the "whole pineapple"! In the picture, I see cheese (yes, we received), two types of crackers (one box), cookies (yes), Pringles can (nope), cooked ham in bag (nope), smoked oysters (nope), tea bags (nope), planters cocktail nuts (nope), chocolate bar possibly (nope), at least 3 jars, one of which looks like pickles (nope, no jars). When I call customer service to complain, the customer service agent was sympathetic but she had to talk to the manager. She came back and said that the manager felt I got my $100s worth. What a joke!

It ended up being 80+. I got him to reduce the delivery charges (that was stated to be free) and placed order.
At 3:30 I received a call from a number that came up as Rotor Rooter Plumbing (Luis, that sounded just like Mario) saying that they wouldn't be able to deliver to the funeral home until late Friday or Sunday. Funeral was @ 10:00 Friday. He wanted a alternate address to send it Friday. I gave him another address and he said it would definitely get there. I just had another call (Annie) this morning (Friday @ 9:45) saying that there was no way that it would be delivered. I requested my CC to be refunded. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have ever had with ordering from a florist. Save yourself time and money, DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Flowers were supposed to be delivered for a dear woman's 94th birthday in a nursing home. Avas knew exactly what this was for, the message said "94 years of love!" We were traveling and actually got an email from Avas the day after scheduled "delivery" asking me to rate their service! Ha, what a joke! Flower delivery was scheduled for Monday, May 23. On Thursday, May 26, at 6 pm, I received a call telling me there had been "a system problem", so the towers weren't delivered. "Are you kidding me? Why didn't you call me the day of delivery or at least the next day?" Them: " Would you like them delivered tomorrow?" ME: "For free?" THEM: "No, for the same price." WHO ARE THESE LOSERS? What a scam... Do not EVER use these jerks!

Ava's flowers sucks. They are not local, to Stafford, TX, as they claim. Probably not family owned either. Arrangement was not delivered on time, and it was the wrong color of flowers that I had specified. After hours of ** from their customer service dept. they finally issued a refund. They also picked up the crappy arrangement, which I've never experienced. Most reputable companies, offer a refund and you keep the ** flowers. I would NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. Would give zero stars if I could. They suck!!!

Don't bother doing business with Avas Flowers. I placed an order for delivery. The flowers were not delivered. I called Customer Service to find out the delivery status. I was told the order would not be filled until the following day they were scheduled. They contacted the florist who said they were too busy to fill the order on time. I was not notified that delivery would be late. These were for my mother-in-law's birthday. So flowers the following day were not acceptable. I have asked to cancel the order. I will see if I receive my refund in a timely manner as my credit card has already been charged. I wish I had checked for company reviews before placing the order. Don't waste your time. Highly dissatisfied with my experience. Too bad there isn't anything less than 1 star rating.

Then they will treat you like trash on the customer service line. They read scripted responses and will NOT help you in any way. "Sorry, you wasted $75 on nothing. Sorry not sorry." They will give you a $20 credit to a store where everything costs at least $40. Great! I get to spend more money at this company that I cannot trust!

I put my order in for Mother's Day flowers early Friday morning. I spoke to my mother on Mother's Day, and she was having a hard day. I asked her if she had received any flowers, and that almost made matters worse, because she had not. I attempted to contact Avas but could not get through to a speaking person who could answer my question. They were only interested in speaking to someone who was going to spend money.
I did get their email and was given two separate excuses. First I was told that there were just too many orders and they could not fill them – on Mother's Day, you’re not ready?! The second excuse I got was that they were in an undeliverable area. They live right next to a hospital, not out in country. I am with the person who thinks that this shady organization should be looked into. As of yet I don't yet know if I have received a refund or not. But I tell you that I will be watching my credit card very carefully for other transactions!!

I had to give this a 1 star rating, because there wasn't an option for 0 Stars... or negative stars... Giving them 1 star is being VERY generous. I placed an order on 5/12. I got a text message the next day to call them, I got a VERY RUDE customer service agent, who missed his calling as an aggressive and rude bill collector. After he informed me that the flowers that I ordered were not going to be like the flowers that I ordered, that I would receive the "designer's choice", I dared to question him. BIG MISTAKE. He became loud, defensive, interruptive, and three times threatened to cancel my order and hung up on me. I called back. A lady answered and said she knew who he was and would write him up. She said that she apologized and said Mother's Day had left some of the florists with a shortage of flowers, but that the arrangement would be very nice. I said, Ok and I decided to continue with them.
I understand that Mother's Day is a crazy time for florists. I also told her that I requested NO carnations. She said that she could write a note for the florist to not include carnations. I felt assured and went on with the order. The next day: Day of delivery 4/14, I get another text to call Avas. I get a knot in my stomach. I know this can't be good news. The agent tells me that they are sorry, but that the flowers cannot be delivered and my money would be refunded. I asked why? He put me on hold for several minutes. When he finally came back he told me that the florist in Billings, MT closed his shop that morning and that it would be closed until further notice... So my mother didn't get her flowers, because this company is either a complete scam or they're the most incompetent company, ever. I am completely disgusted and heartbroken. DO NOT waste your time and money on Avas Flowers.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY!!! I am in Florida and used the website to place an order for a friend who had died in TX. The website said Avas Flowers was a small family business and that the flowers I ordered could be delivered the same day. So, I ordered flowers for the viewing. The representative who took my order said it would be no problem to have the flowers at the funeral home for the viewing on Saturday. Saturday afternoon, I received an email that they would not be able to fill the order for the viewing. When I called, unhappily, the customer service representative, Louisa, said she was sorry but the man who guaranteed my order didn't know that the designer was not able to fill it in time but that they would have it for the funeral on Sunday. I asked if there were other flower choices that I could send she said that they couldn't get any flowers delivered and that Sunday was the best they could do.
Sunday afternoon, I received an email that said there was a problem and for me to call a service representative. After being in a voice mail loop, I finally got through and Louisa told me I needed to give her a home address because they couldn't get the flowers to the funeral home. This order was over $100.00 so I told her to just refund my money. At this point, I do not know if my money has been refunded. I consider this company to be highly unethical and from other reviews, which I unfortunately I did not check, needs to be under investigation!

On 4/30/2016 I placed an order via Avas Flowers website for a deluxe bouquet of flowers, boxed chocolate and card all to be delivered to my mother for Mother's Day 5/08/2016. The company automatically charged my credit card. I chose this company due to its high ratings on their website and the fact that according to their website they are located within a mile from my mother's apartment in Queens. I made several attempts to contact the company late on Mother's Day. No one answered and you cannot leave a message. There is a recording that routes you to leave a message it then disconnects you. On 5/09/2016 another attempt was made to contact someone from Avas Flowers and again was unsuccessful. The delivery status was updated on their site showing that the flowers I ordered were delivered. My mother never received her flowers.
On 5/10/2016 I emailed the company to report my complaint and did not get a reply. I requested a full refund since what I paid for was not received. They charged my credit card prior to providing a service. This company ruined my mom's Mother's Day. To my surprise all of the ratings on their site are absolutely bogus. My Mom lives in Ohio; I'm in DC. For years I used a reliable local florist near her, but they went out of business. This year for Mother's Day I googled to find another "local" florist hoping for that same hometown service. Avas popped up as being a local, family-owned business in the town next to where my mother lives. I was thrilled and called the 800 number. Almost immediately I could tell it was a large call center by all the other voices in the background - definitely NOT a small local place. Against my gut instinct, I talked to the guy about ordering flowers for Mother's Day and specifically asked if they would make it in time (it was the Thursday before). He said "yes, we can deliver Saturday," so I proceeded with the order. I was told I'd get an email receipt. No receipt came that day or the next. I emailed their customer service to confirm my order and only then received email confirmation. They assured delivery. All was OK, so I thought.
Sunday, Mother's Day, I call my Mom to wish her a happy day and ask how she liked her flowers. "What flowers?" was the response. I was embarrassed and apologized, and after an awkward conversation where I was steaming under my collar, I hung up and contacted Avas. The response? "We cannot deliver until Monday." OK, so I can understand how busy a florist must be over Mother's Day weekend, but then THIS happened. The person who delivered the late flowers to my Mother on Monday said 'it was my fault they were late because I ordered so late.' WHO SAYS THAT TO SOMEONE'S MOTHER? When I called to place the order I explicitly asked about the turnaround and was told SATURDAY.
So, I fired off an email to Avas customer service and receive an email back stating their website policy about the 4 day window before a holiday weekend and they cannot guarantee timely delivery. Apparently, their phone reps aren't aware of this policy; they just go for the sale and avoid the truthful delivery promises. Oh, and they offered me $20 off my next order. As if! I really wish I had researched this company a little further before ordering. Oh, and next time my gut instinct tries to warn me off about a bait and switch situation like this, I'm going to listen. DON'T GO NEAR AVAS FLOWERS!

So I forgot about mother day might leave florist short on stock. Their website has no way of checking stock with their partnered florist in the state, town you order them for. They take your money, send something that the vase was supposed to be a big coffee cup called the Mug of Bloom. I opted for the stuffed over priced bear also for $18, and a full size card for $5. They send the flowers in a kitty vase. It wasn't even listed on the website. And no stuffed bear. If I wasn't told then I would have never known. Then I had to call them to get the refund for the bear. Ok, so the bear was out of stock for Mother's Day, fine but why do I have to call and ask for my money back on an item they didn't deliver on?
I would expect the delivery confirmation email to tell me that I was also going to be refunded for the bear, but nope. I think they would have kept the money. Then later I find out it was a wallet size, little paper, single sheet for the card. That's not the full card. When I called earlier they called the local florist and confirmed the bear was not in stock. You think they would have mentioned it was also the wrong card. So now it's the wrong case, wrong card and no bear. No phone call either or I would have just canceled the order.
I call them again. They tell me "sorry, things were busy with the holidays." They asked for a picture so I emailed them the picture. So since they Refunded me for the bear (still to be seen. Not going to believe it until it's back on my credit card.) and also 10% off for the inconvenience they tell me they won't refund for the card. Two times on hold for 30 minutes to get back money of items I bought that they didn't deliver. Now they won't refund for the full size card I paid for. Isn't this theft. They claim the 10% was for the card. No it wasn't. I didn't even know about the wrong card until she got home from work. Oh, and store credit $10. Like I want to use the again and get ripped off again.
So the way I see it is these broker sites take your money without even knowing if the local partnered florist has the items in stock. They only lay the local florist for what they delivered, so the site like AVAS FLOWERS keeps the money until you complain. If you're in a different town or state you may never even know the other person didn't get the items you paid for. Then when I find out another add on item that cost extra was also wrong they tell me "sorry, no refund for it, and have a nice day." If I order something online and don't get it, other sites refund it. The 10% off was for me having to call in and them not telling me they are going to use the wrong vase that has nothing to even do with the name "Mug of Bloom". It wasn't even a mug. So to not also refund me for the card, well that's stealing, plain and simple.
I would have accepted local florist being out of stock after mother's day weekend. If the local florist called me I would have canceled, or maybe agreed to a different vase and taken the refund for the card and stuffed bear. But they just chose whatever vase they wanted to use, and now won't refund me for the card. And I missed the catch, or should I call it bait and switch of free deliver ($9.99) but then they charged $14 for service and handling - isn't handling delivery. And what service, the service of me having to call to get my refunds and being denied one of the refunds for something I paid for?
It's hard to find local florist phone numbers. Even online yellow pages advertise these broker sites. Do yourself a favor and find the local florist number and cut these brokers out, put them out of business or at least hurt their business. I've dealt with FTD before and at least they sent what was ordered, and I got a call from the florist when they needed to change something to ask if it was OK first. AVAS probably didn't even give the florist my number. Don't deal with them.

I called to complain and was told that they were going to have the correct bouquet delivered the next day. I received a phone call the next day stating that they were not going to re-deliver the flowers.
I paid good money for these flowers and the only thing that the florist would refund me was the very small cost for the fillers. Avas flowers said it was out of their hands cause the florist offered me something back and that there was nothing further that they could do. I'm only giving one star as it was required to give a review. Avas Flowers is a scam. Worst experience I've ever had! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. They are not a local florist. When searching online for a local florist remember to look for a local telephone number and address. First, I received text and emails that my order could not be delivered on the date I requested nor on the dates they guaranteed delivery...
Second, when my daughter received her flowers although they were pretty they were not even close to what I ordered. She was not at home when the LOCAL flower shop Avas contacted to complete the order. She called me and I contacted them directly. They were very professional and went out of their way to deliver her flowers to her at work. I now have a local contact that I will definitely use as they proved to me that they care.
The local flower shop was also aware of Avas Flowers scam. When you try contacting them via email they do not respond back. By phone you are placed on hold and then a recording comes on with whatever THEY decide is happening with your order ending in customer case has been solved. Lastly, all I have to say is... Thank you for ruining my daughter's 1st Mother's Day! No star given... More like a million thumbs down!!

Hey everyone. Don't bother using this company unless you are willing to make the order 4 days ahead of the date you want it. Wait, that won't work because they will probably miss that date and tell you they have an option of being late up to 4 days. I made an order for Mother's Day and it didn't get delivered till two days afterward. I have never had a miss that much for flowers delivery. "Happy Tuesday afternoon Mom!"
When you call for support you get stuck in unending voice recordings and then get placed on hold just to have you pushed into a call back system that they use to set up a time to call you back. Well, I guess they have up to 4 days to be late for that too because they never called me. When I finally got through they offered me a $20 credit (followed by a $15 after I was hung up on and went through the above to get reconnected). Well, that was just another scam to get me to spend more money with them. Total refund? Only if they can collect the arrangement and it is worth reselling to another customer. This company has completely "missed the boat" regarding customer service and satisfaction. Oh, I never received any notification of late delivery until "after" I had called them and then I receive the mysterious notification in my email. Too little too late. Ugh!!! I've been burned by a company like them before. I should have learned my lesson the first time... in not using an ACTUAL local flower shop. Stupid me!!! I was in a hurry, trying to get my friend some flowers delivered for her birthday. I quickly did some research, and went with this stupid company for 3 main reasons: 1) The cutoff time to submit an order for same day delivery was 2:00pm, 2) They supposedly had "free delivery" for a limited time on Tuesday, and 3) They "appeared" to be a local company. I submitted my order, within the time frame cut off. I also got charged a $13.95 Service & Handling Fee... So much for "free shipping". You can call it what you want, but $14.00 is a shipping fee. By this time, I was already too far into my order, to go elsewhere. Most other places I had looked at had a 1:00pm cutoff time for same-day delivery. Well, I got my order placed and thought I was good to go.
I then received a voicemail OVER AN HOUR AFTER I PLACED MY ORDER. "Yeah, well unfortunately, we can't deliver your flowers today. You know, the local places are still busy getting Mother's Day flowers out, so your flowers will be delivered tomorrow. Any questions, call us back at (845) 570-5020." I immediately called them, and asked to speak to a supervisor right away. The people who answer the phone speak broken English, very hard to communicate with. After being on hold for close to 10 minutes, there's a recording that comes on and tells you that they handle their calls through a system where you leave your name and number, and someone calls you back. Press 1 if you'd like to do this. If you don't press 1, your call is disconnected. I wasted almost an hour that I should have been working, trying to get a hold of these idiots.
I made FOUR, yes FOUR phone calls to them, and got nowhere. I got the same rep twice and when I asked AGAIN to talk to a supervisor, she told me no supervisors were available. She then "transferred" me back to the automated waiting line, and again after 10 minutes of being on hold, it asks if you'd like to leave your name and number... and if you don't, you guessed it - I got disconnected again. I'm going to sue this company. I told the last company that scammed me and messed up flowers for a funeral, that I was going to sue them, but I never followed through. I wish there was something that you could do to these companies that somehow thrive on scamming people. Ugh!!!
P.S. I also found this on their website: "Our official company name is Flower Tech Center, Inc., but we operate under the name Avas Flowers". You should also see all of the legal crap that they have on their website, located here: **. I gather that they have MANY, MANY unhappy customers, otherwise they wouldn't take the time to post all of that legal crap, if they did business in good faith. It's really crappy that anyone would have to take weeks or a month, to read through every website's "fine print", just to find a reputable company who will simply do what they say they will.
Did I read through all of their legal crap prior to ordering flowers for my friend's birthday? Of course not. I was up against the clock, saw that they had a later cutoff time for same-day delivery, and placed my order. I don't know HOW some people sleep at night!?! NOTE TO SELF (and to the wise): DO NOT USE Avas Flowers, AKA Flowers Tech Center, Inc.!!!

I explained to the representative, Paul, that these flowers need to be delivered to the recipient today, 5-10-16. The Peace Lily Plant cost $39.99, however, total cost was $62.92. I explained that the recipient was leaving the country tomorrow to take her deceased mother to Trinidad for burial. Upon checking, I found out that the delivery is scheduled for 5-11-16. Spoke with the second representative, who told me there is nothing he could do, and if the delivery can be made to an alternative address. I do not know when the recipient will be back. So, I am out of $62.92. I suggest to others to use FTD, might be costly, but they are prompt and is a sure thing.

This morning at 8:24 I spoke to a very pleasant call center representative named Adrienne. Told her I needed a candy basket for my 17 year old step son whom was admitted to the Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA. Four years ago he was diagnosed with cancer and beat it. Unfortunately he has been admitted at the hospital and tests are being done since he is showing symptoms like before. All I wanted was to cheer him up, and he expects gifts from me during his hospital stays. It's our tradition. I was told he would get same day delivery, candy, vase, card, get well soon balloon, and some latex balloons. For all this I was being charged $90.92 which I would spend more if it puts a smile on his face. A confirmation email was sent with my order number at 8:24 am. I probably should say I made this order over the phone from Kansas. The confirmation stated his gift will be delivered by 4:00 pm his time which is 3:00 my time.
I informed his mother that he will be receiving his today and to let me know when it arrives. His mother informed me on and off until 3:00 my time that nothing has been delivered. I decide to give them 30 more minutes. After that time passed I started calling 877-638-3303. I went through the automated system 8 times, being put on a waiting list for the next representative that never came on, to be told I can have a call back that never happened since the automated system told me it was unavailable to me then the system hung up on me, which then I had to keep calling with the same results 8 times. Finally on my 9th call I received a text message at 5:29pm my time which makes it 6:29pm their time. The message asked me to contact them at 877-638-6619. What did they think I've been trying to do?!
I finally get through with this number and speak to Alice. She told me that they have been trying to reach me ALL DAY... I then informed her that I have received one text at 5:29pm, 2 emails at 5:29pm, and my first email at 8:24am of my order confirmation. Alice still tried to say they have tried to get ahold of me all day again. LIAR. Apparently they needed to change the arrangement, they did not have the vase, or latex balloons. Alice wanted to know if I'm willing to change the arrangement to a basket and another get well balloon, I said "That's fine as long as my stepson gets his delivery today". I was informed again that since they have been trying to reach me for these changes that the delivery will not arrive until tomorrow now. I said "This is unacceptable. You have not tried to reach me, and I want the order cancelled immediately!" Alice then said "Let me see what I can do"? What. I already told her what I wanted done. It is not up to her?!
She put me on hold for 15 minutes, just to tell me that the delivery cannot be made again, and the soonest is tomorrow. I will admit I'm steaming by this time and tell Alice in a not so nice tone that "I do not want it delivered tomorrow. You will not put me on hold again. I want the order cancelled now, and a confirmation number issued of the cancellation". Alice finally conceded defeat, and said I will receive an email stating my cancellation, a refund will be issued within 10 days. I seriously had to ask Alice three times to give me my confirmation number over the phone, while she kept repeating I will get the email!? Ordered floral arrangement on 5-5-16 via phone. Delivery date set as 5-7-16. No flowers were delivered. Contacted Avas 5-9-16. I called four times. I was hung up on every time! You cannot get through to a person by selecting the option re: current order. The system hangs up on you. I called back and selected option to place a new order. The rep was very friendly and apologetic, said she was putting me through to a manager to have the order cancelled and a refund sent. She lied. She put me back into the system, and I was hung up on. The third call, again selecting new order, I spoke with Estelle. Apparently she is the manager. I explained the situation again. She told me she could not help me and immediately hung up on me.
The fourth call, again via new order option, I asked for Estelle and was told she was not available to speak with me. I then asked for the operations manager. I was then hung up on. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. After viewing Avas' FB page, I found I am not alone in their scam. Their FB page is filled with disgruntled customers, all with similar complaints.

Ordered flowers early due to Mother's day, and they were not only delivered to wrong address that I found out after trying to find out why order not received, and automated service said redelivered. Mother's Day came and went still no delivery. Called back and automated service said I could get a call back on Monday – used excuse as busy holiday. Called again. Finally had a live person who sent me to billing. Billing argued and interrupted and said "Can't help. It's in FedEx hands for your order."
She mentioned it was two dozen roses and I gasped that is not even what I ordered. Currently I am on hold still after ten minutes and decided to write a review so no one else has to go through such a long drawn out hassle. Business service does not match on hold description of experience at all. Very very disappointed to use for special purchase.

I ordered mother's day flowers from Avas Flowers via telephone two days before mother's day. They sent me an email one day prior explaining that the flowers will not be delivered until two days after mother's day. I called customer service and an executive of the company told me that there is no guarantee (which he kept saying warranty) if the flower order is not made greater than four days.
I asked why wasn't I informed that the delivery was not guaranteed. I am ordering via phone from another state and their rep should have informed me of this. The "executive" could not even speak proper english and I cannot get a refund. My point is if they would have informed me over the phone, I would have had the option to use someone else. The arrangement I ordered was over $100 and I cannot get my money back! And now my mother does not have the flowers I ordered for her on mother's day! I can honestly say that using Ava's Flowers was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. This company is an absolute joke, and their 'customer service' is non-existent. I placed 2 orders which were supposed to be delivered the day BEFORE Mother's Day. I was assured that this would be taken care of without any issue. Needless to say, shortly after placing my order, I received a TEXT message saying there was an issue with my order and I needed to contact them. No one reached out to me directly over the phone... Ava's expected me to call them to discuss the issue. After being placed on hold, transferred to multiple 'customer service reps' and hung up on 4 times. I was finally told that my orders were not going to be delivered until the day AFTER Mother's Day.
I must have wasted close to 2 hours of my time dealing with this so-called 'family owned' company without any acceptable resolution. I can't begin to explain my frustration. Their prices are absurd for the what you actually receive and there is NO customer service whatsoever. Essentially, this 'organization' is an assembly line factory that could care less about delivering a quality product. This is evident by the amount of wasted time I spent trying to speak with a manager, only to be transferred to various individuals who were of no help. Do yourself a HUGE favor and find an alternative florist service to use. I can assure you it will save you a huge headache and hours of your time. I wish I had done more research prior to placing an order... If I had, I could have saved myself a huge hassle.

STAY AWAY. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I would give less than one star but that is not a choice. It was a totally negative experience and a total disaster. I ordered flowers for my good friend's husband's wake. They live in Virginia and I in Massachusetts and I was unable to attend. I called on Sat 16th and requested them for the next day Sun 17th to be delivered to the wake. The time of the wake was 2pm. The woman on the phone said she would have them there for 12noon. OK great! A whole day goes by. It's now 5mins before the wake is to begin on Sun 17th, and I get a text from Avas asking me to call them. Turns out they can NOT deliver now on Sunday as their vendor is not open. This is 5mins before the wake mind you!!! This is not a "Congratulations" set of flowers, or "Happy you got your new job" flowers. This is a death and a wake!!! You need to get the flower there on the exact date as requested.
I was on the phone with them for over a 1/2 hour. Surely someone can fix this problem. They promised me they would be delivered now. They are saying they can't. It's 5mins to the wake, and on a Sunday??? Now, I cannot even try to order from someone else. Who could get them there in 5mins? I broke down crying. Are you kidding me? This is for a wake people. Have you no empathy? You should NOT promise you can deliver if you DON'T deliver. Of course now after that fiasco I am trying to get a full refund and they are willing to give me a $20 coupon to their business for further use? Are you KIDDING ME...? Just put a knife in and twist it. I would never use you again!!!
Why would I want a coupon??? I want my hard-earned money back for your promise you broke, me, not able not to get flowers to my friend...and the anguish it put me through. I have been back and forth with them for a week and 1/2 trying to avoid going to the Better Business Bureau on them and writing to the State of New Jersey Commerce (main company is in New Jersey) but I am sadly getting nowhere. Today, as I finish this note so someone else can read it and NOT go through the hardship I did...I will be gathering all my emails and fact and will be sending it to the Better Business Bureau and the state of New Jersey. This place was nothing but a place that ripped me off, gave me anguish, upset me greatly as I could not get our flower gesture to our friends wholost their husband and father.
It was the worst sales issue I have ever experienced in my life. And the customer service just as bad. Is that a way to do business? NO...it was a joke. They need a 9.000 NEGATIVE star rating - it was a nightmare. Someone has to investigate them and not let them continue to do this to others. It's not right. 4/2016 it was for a wake? Really...you didn't get them there...how pathetic!!!

This has to be one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Ordered flowers to be delivered on Saturday, April 16 for my sister's birthday. Specifically chose Avas and that arrangement because they advertised same day delivery in big, bold letters throughout the website. Placed the order and there was no indication that they would not be able to deliver them that day. In fact, I was given an option of several different times to choose from for that day. They sent an email stating that the delivery wouldn't happen until Monday but never called me (I provided my phone number in their online form). So I didn't see the email until today.
When I called and finally made it through their massive phone tree, I was put on the line with Rodrique. I explained the situation and my frustration that they weren't delivered on the day as advertised/promised on their website and he said "We suggest people call when they have weekend orders." Where on the website is this suggested? Then I asked why I wasn't called instead of just emailed and (with no irony implied) he answered that they prefer to contact customers through email. What? Didn't you just say I should have called you? But the same rule doesn't apply when needing to reach a customer to tell them their order won't be delivered on time? I asked what would be done to rectify it and was told that I would receive a $9.99 discount and they could make an apology call to my sister.
So apparently they can use the phone to apologize to the person receiving the flowers but not the person ordering them. Obviously, I was being given the runaround, so I asked to speak with a supervisor and he said there weren't any there at that time. Really? So the workers just show up at a customer service center in NJ everyday and there is no manager or supervisor on staff? Find that hard to believe. After several more minutes of this infuriating conversation, the call was "disconnected". Yep, he hung up on me. Then called back a few minutes later and apologized for the "disconnection" and I asked him to please take some notes about my frustration/complaints without hanging up on me and let him know that I would be adding to the dozens of poor reviews of this sham of a business. And that is apparently all I can do.

I had the most horrible experience with Avas Flowers that you could imagine!! My older sister (dying with pancreatic cancer) is currently being cared for by Hospice and since I live more than a thousand miles away, two days before her LAST birthday, I ordered a large floral arrangement from Avas Flowers and paid an extra $19.99 to have the arrangement delivered before 11:00 a.m., so they wouldn't end up arriving late on her LAST birthday alive. At 11:33 (a half hour after the time I paid extra to guarantee), I received a text message from Avas Florist requesting that I call their 800 number. When I did, I was brusquely informed that the local Avas affiliate "does not deliver to the street address (of my sister)" - which is absurd, since her house is less than 4 blocks from the downtown area of a small Kentucky town.
When I suggested that they must be mistaken because of the proximity to the downtown, and to please double-check, the Avas representative on the other end repeated her message in a surly and sarcastic-sounding tone of voice, (like I was a child being scolded). When I plead my case to the Avas representative and explained that I had paid extra to guarantee timely delivery, and that these were supposed to be delivered to someone who only has a short time to live, the Avas representative repeated her original message with an even more sarcastic voice.
After determining that the Avas representative was a HEARTLESS AND CRUEL EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING, I hung up and told my wife what had happened. She gasped and informed me that if I had told her I was dealing with Avas Flowers, she would have told me to deal with ANYONE BUT AVAS FLOWERS. She informed me that approximately six months previously, she had ordered birthday flowers for one her friends from Avas Flowers and that the DAY AFTER her friend's birthday, Avas Flowers called her and informed her that the bouquet she had ordered was not available and wanted her to select an alternative bouquet. When I called the woman informed me that their designer required an additional payment of $15.01 to ensure the product would arrive "as pictured on our website and on time." When I asked for an explanation of why they couldn't fulfill the order and delivery at the agreed upon price my credit card had been charged, she just kept repeating the same thing. I asked for a supervisor. She put me on hold for 4 minutes before coming back on the phone to tell me that a supervisor wasn't available, but she had talked to the designer who said they could do it as requested, for an additional payment of "only $9.99".
At that point I asked if they contracted with other florist and where they were located. She disclosed that she was in Florida and that they do work with local florist. I explained that I felt this was a bait & switch scheme and said that I wanted to cancel my order. She said she needed to put me on hold to do that. After holding for another 3 minutes, she came back on and send they would honor the price but could deliver on time. I was frustrated and said, "okay." In the end the flowers I ordered were delivered. Although they were late, the local florist who fulfilled the order delivered a beautiful product. But buyer be warned! The local delivery shop was not answering. We went to lunch for my daughter's birthday and returned at 3:15. Still no delivery. By then I was not happy. I called customer service again and they still could not get an answer from the shop.
She stated that there was no guarantee of delivery on Sundays. I told her that it does not state that on the site as my delivery date selected was February 28th, a Sunday! AND if I was ordering a BIRTHDAY arrangement to be delivered two days later, obviously that is the day of the birthday. I demanded a refund for the early delivery but that didn't make me feel better because I wanted my daughter to have her flowers to enjoy early. The third time that I called, 3.5 hours later, they still could not reach the local office. This meant that the flowers, balloon and card that I ordered for my daughter would not be delivered at all today.
They refunded the cost of the balloon, the full size card with my birthday message to my daughter, and the pink vase, after my daughter called me to let me know that the flowers had finally arrived but had no balloon, no card and no pink vase, which I had paid extra for. Still I was charged over $70 for a mediocre arrangement that finally arrived hours later. I was thoroughly embarrassed and disappointed because it was my daughter's 40th birthday and I wanted to give her something beautiful. I called Avas Flowers at 8 am to be delivered to the residence of my Mother-in-law on Thursday, 3/10, using same-day delivery. She was to take an arrangement to the funeral service of her husband the next day. I paid $90 for the premium arrangement. Later that morning, I was called and Avas said because I "missed the truck", they could not deliver the flowers that day. They offered to upgrade my flowers (which is peculiar, since I had already ordered the premium arrangement), and that they would deliver it first thing the next day. I told them they had to be delivered before 1 pm before leaving for the service.
At 2:30 pm the next day, 3/11, my Mother-in-law called and said the flowers had not arrived and they had to leave. I asked for a refund, and he said he wouldn't offer a refund because they were on their way. I proceeded to tell him how Avas failed me twice, and that now since the service was going on, it was too late. He abruptly hung up on me.
I recalled the customer service number and a woman who answered, confirmed that they were delivered at 2:50 pm. I told her how Avas supposedly initially guaranteed same-day, how they failed me there, then failed to deliver the flowers again on 3/11 before 1 pm. I asked for a manager, and she said there was none around. I asked for a refund and she said she couldn't help me, but that she could offer a partial refund of $13 off a $90 order. That was not acceptable to me. Scam company posing as a local florist. Their website is deceptive and their ordering staff is completely dishonest. Ironically, the floral business is a service that is based on caring and Avas doesn't care about anything except making money. My ordering clerk online pretended to confer with the floral designer (total scam: shop in Alaska, ordering people in New Jersey and they lied about this). Promised to send 6 coral colored sweetheart roses with two stems of orchids plus other of the freshest flowers they had at the shop. I specified NO DAISIES OR CARNATIONS. They sent a pre-made cheap end arrangement of daisies and carnations. I would never have known if my friend had not sent the photo. No response by customer service in New Jersey. They disconnect your call after 15 minutes on auto hold, "in order to serve you better".
I got the owner/manager information of the shop they actually used in Alaska and Avas had ordered just a basic floral arrangement at the cheapest level, although they charged me $75 for the higher end flowers they never ordered. TOTAL SCAM. Staff routinely tells big lies. Routinely stress to you that they are right there in the flower shop. DO NOT USE THEM. They are a telephone intake service. The local florist I finally got in touch with told me that they have nothing but problems with Avas. Worst of all, they take business away from legitimate local florists.

DO NOT order flowers from this company! I paid $100+ for a special order of peonies for Valentine's Day. When I received them in the box the flowers were dead and wilted. As you can imagine my frustration as these were for Valentines. I contacted Avas Flowers and I spoke with a supervisor who said they would reship my order and issue me a $20 store credit and upgrade my order with next day shipping to my home. They also instructed me that these particular flowers are very delicate and needed to be hand delivered. I received them tossed in a box by UPS.
I never received a confirmation number from the supervisor so I called back the next day to confirm my reorder, however... IT DID NOT EXIST! My reorder was never sent and they refused to honor what they promised the first time when I called again. They offered me a box of chocolates for my trouble. What a joke! Stay as far away from Avas Flowers as you can as they are by far the worst online floral company I have ever used in my life!

Avas Flowers is a complete and total scam. They are quick to take your money, but are difficult to get in touch with, and do not deliver the product which they promise. I ordered flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day at work, and when I call on Valentine's Day they inform me that they have no one that can deliver in that area... what!!! Then I tell them to switch the location to my home since she will not be at work the next day when they PROMISED they would be delivered. Guess what? No flowers.
Then when I ask for a cancellation and refund they tell me they can give me a 10 dollar refund and 10 dollar store credit... Again, what!!! You could not pay me to use their service again. Most displeased I have ever been with a company. NEVER EVER EVER use Avas Flowers. They are a scam, and they should be looked into for false advertisement. Again, they are a SCAM. Do not use them. I originally called Avas Flowers to ask questions on how their orders are processed due to the fact that some of the companies I called explained they send you the vase and flowers in a box and you arrange them yourself. I was looking for an already made arrangement to be delivered. I was very dissatisfied from the end of my phone call placing the order and still am. I have all the conversations from beginning to end and you have my permission to take and use what is necessary to reach public awareness about how Avas does not stand behind their policy of "Same look and feel" and "100% Customer Satisfaction". I did notify them in each email that I had intentions of filing my complaints through Consumer Affairs, not as a threat but to raise public awareness of how they fail to abide by their statements.

Beware of Avas. They are a very deceptive company. They promote themselves as a local florist so I actually thought I was talking at first with a company based in the town that would deliver flowers to my mother-in-law for Valentine's Day. I called a few days before Valentine's Day and they assured me my flowers would be delivered the day before Valentine's Day. They advertise free delivery, but charged me $13 service fee which they said was standard and that all florists charge this whether or not they tell you it's included. I was annoyed but went forward with it because I felt sure she'd get the flowers early. The day they were to deliver my flowers, they texted me to say there was a problem with my order.
I called and finally reached a person who sounded like she worked in a call center halfway across the world. She said that they unfortunately could not deliver the flowers that day and there was a possibility they wouldn't be able to deliver the next day either. I told her that if they couldn't deliver by the next day which was Valentine's Day, then I wanted to cancel the order. She was very vague at that point and said she wasn't able to do that right now, but I should check back tomorrow because they would try very hard to deliver them tomorrow. Today is Valentine's Day and I received a text saying they can't deliver and to call their 800 number again. I called the number and this time, couldn't reach a human and was eventually hung up on by their voice recording unit when I didn't choose the option of a callback. I called back later and did eventually reach a human from a faraway call center and that person said they couldn't provide me with a refund.
I said "That's ridiculous, just refund my card" and they said they could not. I then asked for a manager. Several minutes later the floor manager came on the phone, put me on hold to check my order, then came back o the phone to tell me she couldn't refund my order because of their holiday delivery policy. There is not holiday delivery refund policy on their website. Their website says refunds are possible if 24 hours in advance. I gave them 24 advance notice that I would like a refund if they couldn't deliver within 24 hours. They didn't honor this. It's horrible. I don't usually get this worked up about things, but this company really, really got to me. This is beyond terrible. It's deceptive practices and these people should be put out of business.

I ordered a $90 arrangement which looked really "deluxe" in the photo, but in the end it included 3 rose stems, 3 clustered rose stems (much cheaper than large "tea" roses), 3 lily stems and some other misc flowers. Comparable to a $39 grocery store arrangement. After many calls on my part, all they would offer was a $15 store credit. I told them to keep it. After I ordered, I looked up the New Jersey BBB and saw they had a F rating, but it was too late. So many complaints on BBB - I could not believe it. Take my advice - look for a neighborhood florist with an address you can identify and order direct from them. Pics show what I ordered and what I actually got.

First of all, we are a gay couple. My boyfriend was living in California for a little while & I decided to send him flowers through Avas one day just because. His name is Paul. They delivered the flowers with "Paula" on the order, on the special note card too. This, I overlooked because "maybe it was an honest mistake". So now it's Valentine's weekend of 2016 & Paul & I live together in Tennessee now. I ordered a big expensive arrangement for Paul to be delivered ON Valentine's Day several days ahead of time. I get a text a few days later telling me to call about my order. They tell me "We can only deliver it the day before Valentine's Day. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Also, it will be a late delivery."
WHAT?! THE DAY BEFORE?! & they didn't even offer to refund some of my money or add some chocolates or anything. I will NOT be using Avas ever again. They also made me verify that "it was in fact meant for a 'Paul'" like what the hell? It's 2016! Gay couples can send flowers to each other. I complained about the Paula thing last time & I have an account with these people.

As per subject. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with and will never order from here again. I placed an order with one of your sales rep thinking that everything was going to be fine. Your company proved that one wrong. After placing the order with the nice sale associate she, not once, informed me this was a holiday time frame and the flowers could be delivered 4 days after the intended date they needed to be delivered. After placing my order, this company taking my money right away, I get an e-mail after hours stating that they were unable to deliver my flowers until the 16 Feb. Kinda defeated the purpose of why I set up a delivery date.
I called in the 11 Feb to find out what was going on and proceeded to argue with the most incompetent people. The first person was short with me and seemed not to be really bother about anything and kept repeating the policy to me that I was now being told. So I asked to speak to her supervisor. After a conversation with her for several minutes and our inability to use customer service that this company might want to enforce as a training for their employees, I asked to speak to her supervisor.
This is where Avas Flowers shined like a diamond. So hard candy eating fool trying to talk to me and all I can focus on is this sound of hard candy clacking against her teeth. So if this is what you call supervisors, you might wanna rethink that one and offer supervisor training to them and what not to do. Suck as hard candy in mouth. Untrained monkeys know this one. Highly pissed off at this point. I asked to speak to her supervisor after telling her to get the candy out of her mouth. She transferred me to a male. He talked to me for a couple of minutes and said that he could upgrade my flowers if they were delivered after the intended date and still be just as special. That statement alone proved that this company is very incompetent! Talking to him for a couple of minutes and being told I could not get a refund, he said he would call me to let me know what was going on and will be working on the order to get it out before the 12 Feb.
I get an email to call customer service that afternoon. Could get through. The line kept hanging up on me. Again I had to wait until the 12 to call. That morning got through the website, I was finally able to get a hold of someone. For $40 more my flower could be delivered that day. They knew this a day before, didn't set up the delivery to miss that same day charge, and now want me to pay. After arguing with the second male that worked for this company, he informed me that I could get my money back. Not one time was this an option with anyone else!
For two days I went back and forth with this company about service they can't provide. I don't know how in the world this company has stayed in business for 30 years. Piss poor run company. The light at the end of this tunnel is, I called 1800Flowers and they were able to help me with not one problem or situation. This company might want to get with them and work up a new training programs and figure out how a flower company should be ran.

The delivery was to be at an Elementary school which dismissed at 3:00pm. I advised, when placing the order, that this was a school and requested to be delivered before noon. The delivery was made at 4:01pm with confirmation email of same sent to me. The recipient was a teacher there and the only reason she received the delivery was because she stayed past her usual departure time to do some extra work after class for the next day. That's the first thing.
Secondly, the card was incomplete from what I had sent to be written. It only said, "Happy Valentine's Day Julie" with NO signature! She did not know who sent the flowers. That's kind of the point in sending them. Duh! In addition to not having a signature I had sent a quote from a song to be included on the card. It was not included. I called customer service the next day and got little sympathy or resolution. I could barely hear this person as there was so much background noise and the accent was so thick I could not understand. I had to call back to talk to someone else and got pretty much the same result. At least I could understand her. She pretty much gave me an "I'm sorry" speech that she was reading off a script and offered me $20.00 off my next order. Really? Horrible experience. The flowers we ordered were NOTHING like what was delivered. We ordered an $85.00 wicker basket of colorful flowers (purple, yellow, green, and lavender). The flowers delivered were maybe worth $40 and were white, pink and red. None of the flowers in the description were included in the delivered flowers. Instead of a wicker basket they were in a cheap white plastic vase that looked horrible. I filed a complaint and submitted pictures. It didn't take long before they said there was something wrong with the order and they would talk to the designer.
Monday morning I get an email saying to call about the complaint. I call and get someone with loud hip hop/rap music playing in the background and it sounded like a party was going on. He was not professional at all. He put me on hold several times, and then tells me that they will give me a $10 refund and a $20 store credit. I told him that was unacceptable, that I would never do business with them again.
I asked to talk to a manager, and was told there wasn't one there. He told me I could call later. He then asked me to hold for a survey, and then they hung up on me. I called back, and got a girl in an obviously very busy call center. She was even ruder. She kept saying we approved the change. We approved one flower to be switched because they were out of it and the funeral was being held that day. She was almost yelling at me in the call. She finally got someone to agree to a $15 refund. Then I was asked to hold for a survey, and again they hung up. One hour later, I received a call from my bank about fraud on the credit card I used for this transaction. I feel cheated. I feel silly for having given them my money for nothing. I feel sad that my aunt had to look at this awful arrangement and feign gratitude. DONT ORDER FROM THEM!!

I placed an order with Ava's Flowers the morning of December 11, 2015. The order was for a fruit and flower basket to be delivered to a funeral home for a visitation. I chose an arrangement that indicated Same Day Delivery, and in placing my order, requested that the order be delivered before 7 pm as visitation ended at 8 pm. My order was completed, and I was sent a confirmation email.
On Saturday, December 12 at 1 pm, I received an email that they were unable to deliver my order, and as an alternative, would send a Poinsettia plant on Monday. Unfortunately, by the time they contacted me, both the visitation and funeral were over. In addition, the poinsettia plant they offered as a replacement to be delivered 3 days later was significantly less value than what I had paid for.
I emailed them back immediately and expressed my disappointment with their company, to which they have never replied. I then took to their Facebook page, where I issued my complaint. They asked me to send them my order number, which I did, and they have again never responded. They also deleted my post on Facebook. They have also since deleted my second post on Facebook asking why they deleted my previous post. Before I realized they had deleted mine, I noticed another family had posted a similar occurrence the same weekend, in which flowers for a military funeral were also not delivered. That post has also been deleted.
They have 21,000 likes on their Facebook page. I looked at the posts before I ordered, and all I saw were glowing reviews. Now I know it's because they delete anything that shows that their customer service is deplorable. They do the same on their website, as I'm finding out now. This company claims to have a brick and mortar store wherever you order from, and this is a fraudulent claim. They do not intend to follow through on your order at any time. They delete all of the true reviews of their company. They are a disgrace.

My Mom ordered flowers on Dec. 5 to be delivered on Dec. 7 for my 50th Birthday. When she found out that I had not received her gift she contacted Avas Flowers who said that the florist that received the order could not complete the order that she placed and wanted to charge an additional $100. They assured my Mom that they would use their own source but would not be able to deliver on Dec. 7th but December 8th. I stayed home all day on the 8th. She was assured again at 5:30 PM that I would receive the flowers tonight. Well, still no delivery and my mother feels terrible. What a terrible way to do business, I hope they refund her money and they can keep their flowers. So much for feeling like you have given a beautiful gift for a beautiful occasion. Do not do business with this company!!!

Worst customer service I have ever received from a florist site. I ordered flowers for my mother-in-law's funeral on a Wednesday to be delivered on Friday. They could not fill the order as what I had ordered but did not notify me until mid-Friday afternoon and then could not offer me anything even close to what I wanted. I had just flown in for the funeral and did not have time to find another florist so I had to settle for cut flowers and then they did not even give me the color I wanted and left the bow off the arrangement which I had specifically ordered as an extra touch.
My original arrangement that I wanted was a blooming plant that could be taken home and kept afterwards. I spent over $100.00 and all I received was an embarrassment and disappointment for what I wanted for my mother-in-law. Now they want to give me $13.95 in credit which is a slap in the face. This company does not even deserve the 1 star that is shown. I will never use them again and advise the same to everyone else.

I ordered flowers online through Avas Flowers to be sent to my Mother in hospital after having surgery. I paid for rush delivery. The next day I found out that my Mother never received the flowers even though they sent me a confirmation email. I of course called the company to find out what happened. They continued saying that they were delivered to the flower room at the hospital. I called the hospital and the flower room was not open. My Mother then began having hospital staff search various locations in the hospital because no one knew where the flowers were. For three days staff searched for the flowers. Finally, my Mother and I discovered that the flower company wrote the wrong name on the card and she had the flowers all along.
When I called Avas to let them know what happened, the customer service agent was incredibly unhelpful. To add insult to injury, she basically called me and my Mother liars. She said that she knows the flower company prints off whatever the customer writes on the card and it wasn't possible to have the wrong name on the card. The agent was very unsympathetic to the fact that I've been incredibly upset for three days over the matter and that hospital staff were running around the hospital trying to locate flowers. The only reason why I used this company is because they claim to be 5 star rated and have received awards.

I needed to send flowers to a funeral across the country. I called Avas and asked if they were local to the area. He said yes he was. So I ordered a spray for the funeral over the phone as I was traveling and had no access to my email. First- the salesperson fast talked the price up with this and that. I finally got him to slow down with what was I getting and eliminated a couple of things. Still a $200 order. He had all of the info for the wake/funeral/etc so I thought they must be local. This was on Wednesday morning. Thursday afternoon I get a text msg that the flowers have been delivered. Who wants flowers delivered 24 hours ahead of time?
I called and all I was told was, "we sent you a confirmation of your order over email". I haven't got access to email while traveling that is why I called them to order. There is nothing we can do now 23 hours before wake. They assured me the flowers would still look fresh??! We will see. Now discovering they are in New Jersey so can't or won't insure delivery by 3:00 tomorrow. We will have to see what the arrangement looks like? I would not "ever" deal with this florist again!

Flower arrangement should be the only one thing that Avas Flowers know the best, but I was not only wrong but also absolutely regret to have dealt with them. I ordered a White and Pink Sympathy Fireside Basket (large $149.99+tax), with additional $9.99 delivery charge, specified less pink with more white. Reconfirmed twice to be delivered before the service. But it arrived late, service had already began. What a embarrassment to me. Flowers were shriveled up, didn't look full arrangement, didn't even look anything close to their webpage. In fact, the arrangement was sloppy, absolutely shocking.
I wrote several complaints, and request a moderate refund of $34.99, they only agreed to refund $15.00 and a $20.00 store credit. They took advantage of my sorrow, they placed salt over my wound. I would never use them again. If I had read all these reviews before, I would never made the call to order. People, do not trust what you read on their webpage, they do not know what they are doing. One only thing they know how is to rip you off. And horrible customers service! Just don't deal with Avas Flowers.

My grandmother resides in Arkansas, and I reside in Phoenix, AZ. I looked up Ava's Flowers because it was close to her, and it had "great customer service" as touted on their website. The flowers looked lovely, so I thought, why the heck not? I was so very wrong. If flowers cannot be delivered to an individual, then it is logical that the sender not be charged for half of the cost of the flowers for non-delivery. What made this experience escalate from bad to terrible was that the customer service rep went from offering a small re-stocking charge, and proceeded to "talk with a manager" and charge me double what was quoted. This was the second mistake made by the customer service team.
The first mistake was sending me a TEXT without a follow-up phone call saying that the delivery status was incorrect and that the flowers were not delivered. I called that evening and tried to have them delivered to my grandmother's home the next day. Unfortunately, she had been re-admitted into the hospice due to her Stage 4 lung cancer symptoms making her gravely ill. Thus, the flowers to cheer her up. Unfortunately, I chose you guys and this entire endeavor was a waste of my time and my money.
Finally, the last mistake was calling my grandmother and trying to get the flowers delivered AFTER I had cancelled them and agreed to Ava's Flowers "policy" of stealing half of my money for the non-delivered order. I can't believe Ava's Flowers had the gall to do that! I told the CSR that my grandmother was sick and it was supposed to be a surprise. She should never had to explain how she was in hospice care and no one could receive flowers at her home. I can't believe you would stoop so low to pester a sick woman on delivery when I told you that delivery wasn't possible. This review will be going on numerous review sites, so that no one else will fall for your scam. What was supposed to be a pleasant surprise turned into my grandmother worrying, me losing money for nothing, and Ava's Flowers smirking about their "stellar customer service".
As a side note, I also find it a deceptive marketing practice to advertise as if you are a local flower company, but had to spend hours trying to contact the "local florist" to see if a non-delivery was delivered. It never was and after being put on hold multiple times by multiple CSRs, I wonder if this company even knows where Fayetteville, Arkansas is located!

I called and ordered an arrangement that needed to be delivered on Tuesday October 20. I placed the order early on Monday morning, and they guaranteed me the delivery by 4pm on Tuesday. They processed the payment for the arrangement that I wanted and continued to guarantee the delivery. I asked for them to call me to confirm that the delivery was made, and never heard from them. I called them to ask about the delivery, and they then continued to tell me that the flower arrangement was out of stock. With no call, or any sort of communication did they tell me that they didn't have it. How can a place tell me it would be delivered, and ask for payment, but not know if they have the flower in stock. The customer service was absolutely horrible. When asking for them to refund my money, they then tried telling me that they would just discount the arrangement by 10%. This was the worst experience I've had and I will never refer them to anyone.

My daughter ordered flowers for me after a surgery. What was delivered was a wilted and brown bouquet. I called to complain and someone very friendly on the phone asked me to send pictures. She assured me a new bouquet would be delivered the following day. I took pictures and sent email, and received a prompt response from someone named Tishante ** that she had contact the local florist and would follow up with them and with me.
No new flowers, no follow-up email or call. I called back the next afternoon. Received voicemail asking me to choose a time to be called back. I chose a time - never received a call back. I called back an hour after their message had said they call me. English-challenged person told me that the florist denied having delivered the bouquets I sent pictures of?! Apparently they would not have bothered to tell me this??! She said she would call the florist again, and someone would call me the following morning.
No phone call. I called back AGAIN. Now I'm angry. Another English-challenged person puts me on hold for several minutes, and then comes back on the line to say that they would like to work towards a resolution, but they need to talk to my daughter (not me), as she is the one who placed the order. Why didn't they tell me this before?!
I call my daughter and we conference-call AVAS yet again. This time we get a nice young man, very apologetic. He says that my daughter did not need to be on the call. He asked who I spoke with - I told him and he said there is no one there by that name. He offers to send a nicer, upgraded "farm fresh bouquet," which I will receive the following Monday (because it is now Friday afternoon). He also offers my daughter a $9.99 refund. This would have been great if I weren't so frustrated and angry over all the time I wasted trying to get the issue resolved. Monday comes... Monday goes. No flowers. I called again this morning. Flowers should be delivered today. They were. The bouquet is very pretty. But I will never do business with this unprofessional company again. Horrible horrible.

I placed an order for a medium size lavender sympathy standing basket. The price was $89.00. Delivery was $9.99. Tax brought it up to $107.00 to be delivered to my grandson's cemetery plot. I was so disappointed, embarrassed and hurt to see the arrangement they delivered. It looked like a $39.00 arrangement or less. It was not at all what I ordered. I told them I wanted it to look exactly like the picture they advertise and to be on a stand the same way they advertise it. They said ok and began typing my info. I ordered it to be on a stand. It was set on the ground. The ribbon was dark purple. I ordered lavender. The flowers were red, purple and white. I ordered lavender and white only with greenery. The words on the card were wrong. Some words were missing. They put "from grandpa" instead of grandma. My grandson's grandpa is deceased.
I asked them to put my initials on it so people would know which grandmother it was from. This is the only thing they got right and it's the only reason I knew they were mine. My name is Nancy. How many men have that name? I'm not a grandpa. I was never notified of any changes in what I ordered. When a person is grieving, they should not have to deal with so much incompetence. I called Ava's flowers today Oct. 13/15 to let them know how dissatisfied I am and that I expect a full refund and apology and it appears that at the time of ordering, they were not listening to me because they said that I ordered a small arrangement for $49.00 and they were sorry for the wrong color flowers and ribbon and wrong words on the card.
They said the stand was $30.00 extra. Well, they didn't mention that at the time of the order. If the flowers were $49.00, how did the total price get to $107.00. They did not give me an order number. They did give me a confirmation number. They said they would refund to my credit card $18.00 in 5 to 7 days. Really!! This is ridiculous. If they can't train their staff better than this, they don't belong in this business. Please people, don't order from Ava's flowers if you don't want to be disappointed. I have not received a receipt yet but I'm making sure that everyone I know will know what they did to me and will pass it on.

Horrible experience with this company! I ordered Mother's Day flowers and selected a Saturday delivery. Not only did they not arrive but they referred to a policy buried under legal jargon that states this date is just an estimate. I called on Sunday to let them know that the recipient would not be home from noon-7 and that the front porch gets full sun all day. I asked them to leave them in another location instead. Turns out they delivered them during the time mentioned anyway, and left them on the front porch in full sun. The recipient came home to $70 of wilted/dead flowers. When I called them to complain, they refused to take responsibility by stating there was no record of my request earlier in the day, only a note that I had called. They refused to issue a refund and said I couldn't talk to a supervisor. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

My friend of 25 years, mother passed away. I sent an orchid from AVAS flowers. I placed the order online, but prior to doing so, I called and spoke to a representative over the phone. I asked her if the online photo closely resembled what would be delivered. She actually stated that the plantar was "exactly" the one that would be used and that the orchids were huge and healthy and beautiful. Well, when I arrived at the viewing I could not find my large, beautiful orchid. After about 30 minutes I finally came out and asked my friend if it had been delivered. She directed me to a table in the back of the room where some pictures and memorabilia were displayed and it was standing on the back corner of the table, max 14 inches tall, 3 or 4 small blooms and in a 3 inch terracotta pot!!! I was so humiliated!!!
In her kindness said it was okay that she would transplant it and it looked like it was going to develop more blooms. I wanted to cry. It cost 62.99 for the plant and 9.99 for the delivery. I could have gone to Lowe's Lumbar Yard and gotten one way bigger in a nice plantar for 20.00 and hand delivered myself and been less embarrassed. I have never once in my life been to a viewing and saw anything as pitiful. It did not reflect my sentiments toward my long time close friend at all. It made me look like a cheap skate with no sense of propriety.
Upon leaving the funeral home I called AVAS within seconds to get no satisfaction whatsoever. Being in the car driving, I could not review the satisfaction policy. I had to speak to several people on the phone that kept offering me "store credit" of 20.00 which I refused every time as I would never purchase anything from AVAS again. At no time did anyone that I spoke with, offer to deliver a new item. In the end was told I would receive a 20.00 cash refund and refund of the delivery fee. The next day my email reflected a 20.00 refund and no refund of delivery fee. After yet another 30 minute phone argument was offered a delivery of "mixed flowers" to my friends home and nothing more than the 20.00, and again, store credit which I refused.
This was by far the worse product, worse customer service, most disappointing incident with a florist in my entire life. There is so very little we can do to offer condolence to those we love when they are grief stricken. To make an attempt to deliver something of beauty, that can be looked at to gain a small bit of comfort, and have it completely ruined is a disgrace. AVAS florist should be ashamed of themselves.

The experience was so horrible that I had to write a review!! My fiance's grandmother passed away and to show our respect, my mother and I ordered what was suppose to be a beautiful 3 1/2 feet tall Peace Lily or Spathiphyllum in a Basket. When I called to place the order, I asked the guy taking my order out of Lumberton, MS if he could confirm the plant was in stock and able to be delivered prior to me placing the order. The guy put me on hold to double check. He then stated that they had one that was 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall and it was very full and gorgeous. He also stated that they could guarantee that the plant would be delivered at the latest an hour before the funeral service, with an extra charge of course. I placed the order that was originally $79, that with all the guarantee charges added up to about $120. I received a call an hour later confirming the delivery address and to let me know that the plant was on its way to the church. I was impressed of how fast they were.
While at the funeral, I began to look around to see what the plant looked like, it was nowhere to be found! The funeral service came and went and no plant. I was mortified! I am newly engaged and now my fiance's family thinks that my mom and I are so tacky and ill mannered not to have even sent anything. Make us look disrespectful and heartless! The next day after the funeral, still no plant. I contacted the Avas flowers furious! The attendant on the phone said, "oh yes the plant was not delivered." I asked her why it was not delivered when I received a call stating it was on its way and why was I not contacted to inform me they would not be delivering anything!!! The attendant simply said, "I am sorry. We can send the plant to a family member if you would like." I replied "NO WAY." It is now 2 days after the funeral!!
They had no problem taking my money and pretending to provide a service that they never provided and did not even call to let me know that it was never delivered. They were just hoping no one would notice that there were no flowers and they were just going to take my money!!! Then the attendant asked if I wanted a store credit. NO way!!! Still waiting to see if they refund my money, and it's been 3 days! Horrible company!!! If this review would let me give them 0 stars, I would!!!
