I got a phone call about a $2000 laptop. When I got to talk to someone the first words out of my mouth were, I don't have an order with you, they hung up. I have no order, they have no trace, contacted my bank fraud division. They told me to change my username and password to Amazon. Of coarse, only thing I couldn't get through to a human to do so and the computer is too smart I guess. Not sure if I'll use them again but I'll always now use a gift card to do that crap.

Their customer service strategy must be to be totally incapable of providing any help, frustrating their customers into giving up and stop wasting their time rather than resolving any issues so Jeff Bezos can save some money. I've been hung up on, yelled at by a supervisor, and not helped despite this being my fifth attempt to contact customer support. I will never buy another thing from Amazon again as long as I live.

They called me names and told me it was my fault. They kept transferring me for two hours. Then blamed me because my phone died. If I could give them a zero rating I would.

Negative stars if I could. Well, here we are after years for standing up for this company. To preface, and I don't care if it's tacky, I'm a single dad and a small business owner. I've spent A LOT of money on Amazon keeping my businesses going. But the largest purchase I've made they totally took advantage of me. I paid almost 2400 for a new addition to the business and it was a total mistake. You see, if you pick an item, and clip the coupon, and then have to wait a day to pay they will remove the coupon while also showing you that you only have minutes to place the order or else it will come in later. They got me. I had clipped the coupon that would save my business 220 bucks. That's a lot for a small business who is scaling up.

I have a business account and a personal account and have ordered multiple items to keep both going from them. It's the principle at this point and I'll waste money ensuring none of my business helps them. They took a coupon I had already clipped out of my cart and used greasy salesman tactics to ensure I paid that money in. Now I'll spend forever in my free time showing just who they are because I stood up for them FOR YEARS.

I purchased a membership to Amazon Prime and now suddenly no items are Prime eligible. I have to scroll down at least 10-15 search results to find Prime eligible items even with the Prime eligible toggle on. Furthermore, I purchased a prime eligible product and am now being asked to pay for return shipping because it is a third party seller. I thought free returns were part of my membership? I thought two day shipping was part of my membership? When did amazon quietly remove all of this, and why is no one else in the US noticing this? I live in NYS and there are almost no prime eligible items able to be shipped to my address. I even searched amazon brand items and can't find prime eligible items. The subscription has become a scam.

An Amazon "specialist" emailed me complaining about it. WTH? I don't appreciate it at all. He didn't even read the reason why I returned. Am I supposed to accept the issues with the products I bought? STOP HARASSING ME AMAZON. I wish that.

Amazon discriminates if you have ebt. They gave me the runaround for 2 hours on their customer service chat with absolutely no resolve. Even though they advertise that ebt sign up and membership are discounted. I was not allowed to sign up. They kept sending links that didn’t work, connecting me to different people that would ask me the same questions again. In the end they cancelled my membership basically because I’m poor. Over the years I have spent thousands with Amazon with no issues but with the inflation I can no Longer afford things that I used to. As a single mom with 2 kids I’m trying to save wherever possible. Amazon makes so much money and it’s disgusting that after all the money that I’ve spent over the years with them now I’m being treated like garbage because I was forced into getting ebt.

I had tried unsuccessfully for two weeks to order Boost Infinite sim cards through Amazon but was always unable to complete my order. Tried multiple times through Amazon's customer service to rectify the problem but they were never able to help. Spent between 2 and 3 hours on the phone with their customer service and then kept being told that they had escalated my problem to the next level and someone would be in touch with me within 24 to 48 hours but no one ever contacted me.

Finally on May 6, I was able to get the order placed on my own. Originally the cards were to be delivered on May 7th but I never received the order until May 10th and then only one card was delivered even though Amazon showed that both were. On May 10th, I returned the card via UPS and Amazon received it on May 15th. They issued a credit for the card that I did not receive but for some reason they were delaying the credit for the returned card until May 31. I called customer service again to find out why the delay in issuing this credit and was told that there was absolutely nothing that customer service could do for me.

Today, May 31, I checked on the status of my credit and it has now been backed up to June 3. At this point, I contacted my bank and opened a dispute on the charge and they immediately issued the credit to my account. It would seem that as Amazon continues to grow, they care less and less about actually providing any kind of customer service with that whole department seemingly being done from offshore with people who barely speak intelligible English and then they have no power to do anything to solve issues. I have been an Amazon Prime member for several years and have become quite disenchanted with their service over the last year. There have been many orders that were not fulfilled when they were supposed to be and countless deliveries made to the wrong address.

I got a message from the seller and they said, "Sorry we are out of stock" and I need to cancel the order. Well, the seller said it was shipped according to Amazon, despite showing them the email from the Seller. Amazon said I need to wait until after the Estimated Delivery Date which is in July. WHY?? Why would I need to wait. I have proof from the Seller they don't have it and they asked me to cancel. Then I tried to reply to the Seller and guess what...they no longer are tied to Amazon, but somehow they are still selling on their site?? The customer service DOES NOT pick up the phone, and you get transferred multiple times by automatic voice. It seems AMAZON DOES ALL DO NOT ASSIST its customers. The representatives argue with you and refuse to call the supervisor. The delivery service is not working because Amazon and the delivery career don't have proper communication.

The Amazon gift card policy is horrible. Currently you can't transfer any kind of gift card balance to another person, not even a spouse or family member. Also, you can't download the balance into your bank account either, zero exceptions, ridiculous! My wife and I both had Amazon Prime accounts before we were married, then just started using her account for Prime, no reason for two. In my account I have a gift card balance that's been there for over a year, and they won't transfer it, and I won't spend it to pay more and have to pay for shipping too, so it will sit forever in my account. One would think Amazon would want that money, and probably millions of other dollars that are being held hostage as well. If Amazon would let people transfer the gift card money to someone else, they would spend it and Amazon would make that money, such a dumb policy!

There seem to be two weights and measures for setting up shop with Amazon.com. One for the local (read: **) people and one for the international (read: **) sellers. I recently helped someone local setting up an Amazon Seller’s Account. What a tedious, strenuous experience. Lots of documents and information required: driver license, proof of residency, bank and credit card details, business address, description and references, verified phone numbers and email addresses, name of business owners, company representative, nationality, etc…etc…etc… I understand, Amazon is protecting its brand and wants to weed out bogus operations to protect itself and sellers, right?

Well, I got a big surprise when I had to contact Amazon concerning a failing product sold by a third party vendor (read: **).
    (1) impossible to contact the seller directly, no information about the seller is listed. Only the name is provided (let’s say ABC).

    (2) contacting the seller is only possible through the Messaging Assistant who states: “I send your message to ABC”.

Since no response from seller is received, I contacted Customer Service Support for help getting in contact with the vendor directly. And here it gets juicy. The Agent also did not find any contact information about seller ABC. Agent escalated the question higher up to a Lead Agent who came back empty handed. No information is available about company ABC.

How is that possible? Since I experienced personally how though the vetting procedure is to set up shop on the Amazon platform and all the verified contact details that needed to be provided before a sellers account can be opened, here is a third party vendor (read: **) company ABC selling on the Amazon website and nobody knows how to get in contact with them.

In the meantime and that because of the staggering complains about their faulty product(s), company ABC changed its name into XYZ apparently without any scrutiny by Amazon. That way, company XYZ does not need to reply to complains about products it did not sell. They keep selling same unsound products using same templates on the Amazon portal. It’s obvious that the screening by Amazon is non-existing. Corporate greed towers above buyer’s protection. Permission is given to Chinese companies who can distribute their cheaper but faulty products to us and unaware Americans are left behind holding the bag. Time to wake up people! Buy local (read: American)!

The only way to get that deal was to spend at least 25 dollars. So, I had to buy something else. The other product was supposed to be next day delivery. Well, the same day delivery was about 3 hours late. And the other product was supposed to be next day.

Amazon has forbidden me from writing any more reviews because they don't like honesty. When a vendor is absolutely terrible, when the product is absolutely terrible, when the book is absolutely terrible they don't want to hear about it. They want you to write reviews full of pussyfooting and Lies in order to accept them. I used to spend tens of thousands of dollars a year On Amazon but I will never spend any more money with them ever. Since none of their reviews can possibly be considered honest, I recommend everybody avoid Amazon and absolutely do not base your purchases on the review process. Their reviews are a complete joke.

Most of the health supplement products are a complete joke with ingredients that do not do what they claim They do frequently those ingredients will kill your dog or cat or even if you're taking this supplement. I could talk for hours about the horrible products on this website and the many reviews I have written which they have rejected because you're not allowed to say bad things. You can give them a one star review but God forbid you give them the truth.

They also seem to be in an unholy alliance with JD Vance who evidently can't handle negative reviews of his horribly racist book ** elegy, so I have been slapped down for pointing out the poisonous ingredients in dog treats and human foods and for criticizing the book of the US senator who no doubt has some kind of deal going with Amazon. His book Is an atrocity of racism and ethnicism that should be pulled off the shelf of every library in this country, but Amazon won't even let you give it a negative review. Interesting arrangement they have there. And if a Company completely screws you over you're not allowed to mention that.

In other words only nice words are allowed in Amazon reviews which means all of their reviews are utterly worthless. That was already evident because pretty much everybody opens the box and says cool and write a positive review without even knowing if the product works or is deadly or not. Using my medical knowledge I am trying to warn people about the more deadly products they have on their shelves but now they have blocked me so people are going to continue to die buying products on Amazon from horrible Chinese companies that include all sorts of hideous ingredients.

What really worries me is that I pay my card down to 0 every single month. It's an Amazon-secured card with $1000 limit. The past 2 months I paid my balance off in full as I always do, but these last 2 months they claim that I need to change my payment method because my payment was declined! They took the money off of the card but won't send my items. I find it odd that they only do this with the expensive items. The little 20 and 30 dollar items get delivered but not the ones over 100 dollars. This is no less than stealing.

They are keeping my money and trying to double-bill me with another card when the items have already been paid for. They disconnect calls when I try to get ahold of customer service after they put me on hold forever. I no longer trust them and will be taking my business elsewhere. I also read that they make it impossible to cancel Prime memberships and keep charging you monthly fees. I'm going to cancel all my cards I have on account and be done with them. They have really gone downhill and are no longer trustworthy. Why a multi-billion dollar business would resort to these scam tactics is mind-boggling. People like myself won't tolerate it and eventually leave. Don't they get it that you can't treat customers in this manner and expect to keep them? Obviously not.

I placed an order with Amazon on March 24. I received the order on 29 March but the order they sent me had a wrong item and the package. I called back the very next day wanting to return that item. I was told that the item could not be returned but they were going to issue me a refund. I contact them again on April 4. The issue still was not resolved. When I contact them on April 14 I was told none of my information was on my account. I was very disappointed because I went through several representatives, trying to get the right person to help me with my account. I was disconnected. Several times had to call back.

Each time I did not get the same person so I had to repeat the same information over again. Each time I was disconnected I’m repeating the same information and I cannot understand the language that the people are getting. The foreign accent were so heavy I could not understand what they were saying. I had to ask over and over again. "Please speak slower. I cannot understand what you’re saying to me." This was a very, very, very, very unsatisfactory experience for me and I’m going to close out my Amazon account. I will not be ordering anything from them and I would not recommend Amazon to anyone.

Amazon preaches about ethics and transparency, especially when it comes to their reviews but little do many realize they actually delete reviews that unfavorable on THEIR products. They do this by using their review policies in their favor. I bought what they claimed were dimmable light bulbs to replace those that burnt out, their light bulbs did NOT dim after installing them, Amazon sent a blanket response, stating they tested the products and it worked as intended, then they removed my negative review. If the bulbs don't dim after I install them, then they don't dim! It's as clear as that!! And Amazon is not allowing the consumer to objectively rate the products based on their use and in doing so falsely rate their products to entice more sales.

Amazon increasingly the last few years, breaks or loses packages in transit while it's still in Amazon's possession, causing them to return it to themselves without ever having attempted delivery and then want you to pay more to re-order because of loss or damage they did in transit i.e. because of their incompetence.

They do refund what you paid, but it takes several days to get your money back and you have to reorder, now not only having to wait longer to receive, but often the items will have increased in price. There is no option to have them simply send again what you already paid for and never received & you are SOL on having to pay more now, when it is 100% their negligence that caused the items to get lost or damaged in the first place & and never attempt delivery. They even cover up for themselves on their losing or destroying your package and never delivering.

1.) The customer's order will say lost in transit, UNTIL they issue the refund, But then magically changes to say Buyer refused delivery. I've waited weeks past when should have been delivered, with it saying might be lost, your only option is a refund or you'll be out the money and waiting forever, but whenever you accept a refund, well now YOU refused delivery.

2.) When it says damaged in transit & being returned to sender (Amazon), then after they refund, all you can see then is a notice that will say there's a few possible reasons for the refund, most listed will be the customer's fault, and it doesn't specify which caused the refund.

So they never leave a recorded way for you to look back and see the number of times they have never delivered your items THROUGH NO FAULT OF YOURS, BUT BECAUSE THEY KEEP LOSING THEM IN TRANSIT OR DESTROYING THEM IN TRANSIT. And I'm talking about still in Amazon's possession, never even handed to USPS or UPS, yet won't give you the option to have them send it again, WITHOUT HAVING TO REORDER AT A NEW HIGHER PRICE!!!

Stop increasingly losing and damaging packages I order and never delivering them or let me choose to have it sent again when you lost or damaged it and never attempted delivery and at the same amount I already paid. Just send it again!! You are the one who caused it to not get delivered the first flipping time! Not Me! I shouldn't be repeatedly financially punished for your incompetence!

The issue I encountered is quite simple - Amazon is collecting Import fees on products below the tax Threshold. They claim the product gets free shipping but then they collect a tax, that is not going to be collected by customs, which is higher than the original shipping fee. Once being called upon with the customer service - started a chain of two weeks moving me from one rep to the other which none could help. Until today. 43 min on a call and the supervisor couldn't help and transferred me to wait for an answer from the same department that didn't help twice before. My guess is that they don't want to help/solve this problem, because it makes a nice free profit.

I'm now being told by Amazon they will not honor their guarantee and have backed the seller claiming that I switched the cpu. I will be suing the company and looking into a lawsuit against Amazon as well for covering up the third parties' actions. The seller was pro refurbished. The model was from tech magnet and so is their support line. Do not buy from them. Also any suggestions for legal actions. Issue with mega online retailer Amazon and their refusal to refund me for a camera that I purchased in November 2023. The camera was a Christmas gift for my daughter. Unfortunately, it was defective and had to return it. We followed the Amazon return instructions, taking it to a local UPS store. We have a receipt from the UPS store for the return of the camera to Amazon. Amazon has confirmed they show the item was returned at the UPS location. However, after almost two months I still have not been refunded.

I've called and spoke to multiple Amazon reps. Each time I'm told that I will be refunded within 2-5 business days or my refund is still in process. My refund was denied and told to submit an appeal to the denial of refund. I submitted the appeal (as instructed by the Amazon Cust Service supervisor). Was told once I did that, I would receive a response within 72 hours. Never received any response. Two weeks later I contacted Amazon again and was told once again that I should receive a refund within 5 business days. I asked the rep to send me that in writing, which they emailed. It has been 5 business days and I still have not received a refund. I called again this evening and was basically given the same response.

My "refund has been processed, but it is stuck in 'Billing and Payments". Told I should be refunded in a couple days and I will receive an email within 48 hours from today/this evening. The other issue is Amazon representatives have never told me why I was denied to begin with or what is causing this lengthy delay in refunding me. I also corresponded with a rep of Adorama, the 3rd party seller of the camera.

Have an email from 3rd party rep, apologizing for my inconvenience and said he contacted their liaison to process the refund as soon as possible. Told me to allow 1-2 business days for an update. As of today, still no refund. It's been almost two months since we returned the camera. Bottom line, I am a consumer who bought a camera from Amazon in good faith. After determining it was defective/did not work, we returned the camera. I am stuck in 'refund limbo' due to either an issue with UPS and the 3rd party seller or issues between Amazon and their 3rd party seller.

For years it was great, in the last 2 years nothing but problems and worst of all is if you try to return some junk non-working Chinese junk they sell you. They tell you a refund will be issue in 30 days, WRONG. If the item you return is over 1,000 dollars good luck. You have to call again and again to get your money and sometimes it can take 2 months. The other option is to file a chargeback. No longer buying from Amazon the way we use to, we buy only if we have no other options, if you shop around they are other retailers that are 100% better. And if you have a return you can take it to the store and get credit the same day. I will no longer recommend this company to anyone. Eventually this company is going belly up in the next 5 years, like many others have. They do not care about the customers or their employees, only care about Profit margins.

*I have written 10 reviews of streaming movies and shows, ALL very honest, but only 3 were negative (poorly written, directed, or badly acted). I even suggested what what COULD HAVE been done to improve the quality. Foul language nor racism or sexist comments were ever made. THIS DOES NOT VIOLATE THEIR REVIEW POLICY, and is actually a violation of FREEDOM OF SPEECH by removing them.
*I also wrote a very negative review of their CUSTOMER SERVICE after not being delivered a military tactical cap I ordered and reported as not received. I NEVER instructed the item be left on the front porch, but only in the mailbox.

*After an hour of online chat and a phone call, the item should have been replaced NO CHARGE, especially since I gave explicit directions. Instead, they refused to.

I wrote another negative review on social media as well, detailing I work directly in CUSTOMER SERVICE for a multi-billion dollar BIG BOX retail company, and would fire someone refusing to replace product not delivered. The simple truth is Amazon is deleting ALL negative reviews, especially customer service and defective products. That is defined as tampering. Swaying and/or influencing documented testimony (written review) and opinion of goods and services to render an outcome (sales) is ILLEGAL. I see other reviews that say this all the time, so I do not understand why this is inconsistent. Amazon does not allow feedback about sellers to be public, which greatly reduces Amazon's credibility. For example, Etsy allows this which helps customers decide who they want to do business with. This matters.

Amazon says they want feedback about packaging, but does not provide a way to leave that feedback. In other words, a product may be great, but if the seller and/or the delivery affect the quality of the product, people should know that. But, Amazon actually says that this information "won't be relevant to all customers". This policy reduces Amazon's credibility and continues to expose more and more their deceptive ways to allow reviews to be unreliable.

I am angry, I feel cheated. I bought Soundcore headphones Jan 17, 2024, on Feb 3, 2024 I saw them on sale for $79.99. I was just inquiring about getting the difference; they gave me a real hard time. They pulled that scheme where it is in our "guidelines" they do not price match. You have to search specifically through their site. I explained that a consumer needs to see that in writing visible on their homepage, so consumers know that there is no price matching

I purposed that for this time they do the price match, I know for the future. They would not budge, then I figured I could return the ones I have and get the ones on sale. All of a sudden it went back to regular price. I escalated; I was hung up on & ignored. I deleted my account and will now boycott Amazon; very poor experience. I sent emails to corporate and nothing was done. Am I in the wrong?? I feel I am. All the other places normally do price match. Regardless they lost a lot of revenue; I was a prime member and I was spending $110 per month.

I closed my account; Amazon buyers beware; Amazon is becoming more of a "Scam" company; nickle and diming their customers. You know what that means they are hurting financially. We as consumers have the power; Amazon needs to be killed!!! Do yourself a favour shop elsewhere; otherwise if you have an issue, you will be treated rudely and not get anywhere; spending hours & hours. We the consumers, have the POWER!!! Choose wisely!!

They delivered after the business hours stated on the delivery instructions, then they tried delivering again with another driver until they canceled the order after 3 attempts. I have to call them almost every time I place an order, so next day delivery usually takes a week or more. Amazon doesn't seem to have any interest in resolving their shipping issues as I have called multiple times and they still do the same thing over and over. I don't know what to expect from Amazon, I will try Walmart and see how it goes.

Amazon Prime is nothing but a fraudulent practice. I have had many items purchased in the past and they were good about their 2 day shipping. Now, they can't deliver packages on time and they have a million excuses. Here is one from the agent chat today, "We do our best to ensure that all of our customers' orders go as smoothly as possible. And 1 day or 2 days shipping will starts once the order ships out." Nowhere is this made aware to the customer. This is all after I ordered a dehumidifier that was guaranteed to arrive on Saturday January 27, 2024. Amazon didn't ship it out until 11:50 PM the night before and this was because the item was not in stock, or so that was their excuse, but the item was in stock when I ordered it. Then I was promised by 8 different agents that it would arrive by January 27, 2024.

Now it is coming on Sunday January 28, 2024. It didn't matter to them if the product was needed for medical reasons or not. They don't care about the customer. I am tired of Amazon's lies and fraudulent practices. Time to say goodbye. Don't order anything from this company. I am going to stick with Walmart plus. They have way better customer service and they care about the customer. To Amazon you are nothing but a number and some more money in Bezos pocket. Stay away from Prime.

I contacted via phone and Chat for over 10+ times as this issue been dragged out for almost 60 days now. I had a lot of patience and put on my best behavior for service team. As you get better service when you're being nice, nobody want to deal with rude customers. But each of the representatives would stated that they already "submitted the concerns" and incident reports to the specialty department. "They'd get back to me in 24-48 hours". But they NEVER did each time, they kept lying to me. For a trillion dollar company like Amazon, I get better service from a brain dead, crackhead in the back alley at 2 AM. Very disappointed. Lately I have had a lot of problems with deliveries from Amazon.com. In the beginning we had no issues but lately it has been a hit and miss if they deliver to the front porch. Maybe it depends on the driver's mood. The latest delivery happened yesterday. The instructions say to deliver to the front porch. When the delivery happened, the message was, "Your package was left near the front door or porch." I have a picture of where the package was left in the driveway next to my car on the ground by the garage. The garage is about 75 feet from the front door. I had to walk out there in the rain to retrieve my package. Maybe the driver didn't want to get wet. I would think Amazon would provide rain gear. This is just one event of several incorrect deliveries that I have dealt with Amazon. I might add if the weather is bad or rainy then deliver it on another day if you don't want to get wet. I might add Customer service or Dispatch is no help with this problem.

I became an Amazon Prime member years ago to receive the benefits of fast shipping and easy returns...boy was I wrong. Shipping is average at best, and returns are never easy. Customer service is a nightmare, and if you think that talking to a supervisor is going to help you, you are grossly mistaken. Here's an example...I purchased a trampoline for my niece and nephew for the holidays. But after hearing from a friend that their daughter was injured on the same model, I decided to go with a safer option. I tried reaching out to the seller to find out how to return the item, but I never received a response. So I reached out to Amazon for guidance with the return.

Ash, the supervisor, told me to print the label on my Amazon account page and attach it to the box. Then they said to take it to UPS and pay for the shipping out of pocket. I was told to take a picture of the receipt and attach it with my reply to their email. They said the refund would be processed with my original payment method at UPS. They also promised to call in the morning to confirm that all went well with the shipping. I paid $379.55 in shipping!!! Needless to say I have not received my refund, nor did I receive a phone call or any follow up email.

Since then I have spoken to 16+ representatives, 8 of them Supervisors. Each one giving more empty promises of refunds and follow up customer service. One supervisor, Van P., promised that the refund would be processed 3-5 days from when we spoke...that was 16 days ago. And the last supervisor Dianne P. promised me this..."Hello James, As we discussed, I'll call or email you everyday 10:00 EST regarding our conversation about the update"...That was 3 days ago and I have received no calls or emails. They all keep acknowledging that the original supervisor (Ash) messed up, but no one is fixing the problem.

The idea of calling Amazon again and spending another hour on each call is sickening. Amazon is still holding my $379.55 and I don't know what to do. The fact that I pay extra as a Prime member to receive horrible customer service and to have my money for lack of better terms "stolen"...is disgusting!!! Don't waste your hard earned money or your valuable time...Amazon Prime is not looking out for your best interest at all!!!

This is not a review for the product per se. This a review on the horrible, frustrating, lack of competence from Amazon and their team. Also a review on how crap their Alexa service and ecosystem is. I invested into the ecosystem with speakers and smart devices that can be controlled through Alexa. I added a ton of speakers and smart devices with routines that help me run my household conveniently. Unfortunately I replaced my phone as it had broken. When I received my new phone, I signed into my account only to find that I had no devices on my account. No routines. Nothing. I checked my wife’s phone to see if she still had the routines and devices and she did. Here is where the incompetence comes in with Amazon. Amazon tried to convince me that the devices were registered with my wife’s account without checking anything on my account. I told the representative that my wife doesn’t have an account.

My wife doesn’t even know how to email. She doesn’t even know her own email because I set everything up for. She is technically challenged lol. I then told the representative that she was a liar and was trying to get off the phone with me as to not deal with me and the issue because according to a bunch of sub reddits and internet articles, this is an ongoing problem for about 5-6 years now. I then proceeded to ask my echo which account she was connected to and she clearly said my first and last name and said that it was my account that she was connected to. The representative then had no choice but to check the serial numbers on my echos to see which account they were registered to. The greatest part was that the representative said that they are not connected to that account. She then asked me if I had another account that it can be connected to. I only have one account and my wife literally signs in with my credentials.

Well I sign in for her because remember, she is not tech savvy. I then told the representative that having another account would be impossible as my iPhone stores passwords and emails. So I proceeded to checked my passwords in settings and lo and behold, one account, one username and one password. She then told me that I can simply setup my devices again and will return to normal. I told her that in order for that to happen, you would have to come to my house and do it for me because I refuse to. I did it once already and it was time consuming.

I would have reset a ton of devices, spend about an hour setting up routines and devices all for a foul up that has been going for years by the not so great and powerful Amazon. I will be finding ways and will dedicate my time to write negative reviews and will use my influence to make sure people do not invest in such a crap, amateur, buggy excuse for a service. Google best and even apples home is much mor stable and a hell of a lot more reliable.

P.S. I had a dinner party today and wanted to put some music with my guest and ended up spending literally an hour and ten minutes on the phone with them and an additional 45 minutes just trying to figure it out on my own. Stay away! Please believe me it will frustrate you if you accidentally sign out or delete the app. Just do a quick google search and see thousands of people experiencing the same problem. IT IS COMMON AND INFIXABLE!

It seems Amazon has changed quite a bit in the last few years. I live in a very rural area, hours away from a UPS store and thirty minutes from the only drop off location around. I am a Prime member and purchase from Amazon frequently because shopping options are limited where I live. I suspect this is true for many rural Amazon customers. The cost of Prime has increased significantly, while benefits are being altered or restricted. I am constantly only given a return option that is free only if taking items to a UPS store. Also, some items are returned with a QR code that no one locally, not even the UPS driver, can read. I also feel that Amazon is manipulating customers into dropping returns off at affiliated businesses, such as Whole Foods Market or Kohl's.

If "no longer wanted/needed" is selected for the reason for return, no free return shipping is available even for Prime members. Amazon hides information on how to contact a live customer service person as well. Prime has become almost useless for me. Amazon should value its rural customers and do more to ensure that Prime benefits apply to all members who pay the increasing membership fee.

Fast forward to last week I called again, my check still had not been issued. Was told again that I would have to go through investigations again and it could take another six weeks to get my check. I was as well suppose to hear from them about receiving a gift card in place of check refund that never happened as well. I doubt very seriously I will ever see that refund.

It is my understanding that the Federal Trade Commission has received several complaints regarding this same issue against Amazon Prime. It is insane they can just deduct money from your acct not even ask you if you want the subscription then when you contact them and tell them no, they do everything in their power to keep you from getting a refund and then have the nerve to try and get you to buy the subscription at a reduced rate. I did not want it to begin with, a reduced rate won't change that Amazon is a bully. They stomp all over the consumer. So as of now long story short, I will be invested in 14 to 16 weeks if not more in order to get back the 144.87 they took from my acct if I ever get it at all. Run people, don't buy into the hype, they can not be trusted. If you too have experienced the same issue I suggest you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against Amazon.

Amazon used to be a good company, but now are the worst on the planet!!! In fact, 1 star is way too good for them. I would rate them - (negative) 5. They hijacked a retailer-purchased gift card, that I uploaded into my Amazon account, by locking the card and locking my account. They wanted proof of purchase, which made no sense but I provided anyway with not only the card but the receipt for purchase. However, that was not good enough as they kept asking for proof with a different tender than was used. Serious red flags!!! And after several attempts were made through several customer service agents and management with no resolution, as nobody had the authority to help restore my account and gift card balance, I tried calling the corporate office.

Unfortunately, their call corporate center staff have no authority or ability to escalate calls or transfer to executive leadership. Everything has to go through their customer service, which has no ability to provide effective customer service. The purchase was early 2023 and I have tried for all these months to get this resolved.

Lesson learned!!! Amazon has lost all credibility and respect is zero!!! I do not suggest giving them your business!!! However, I do suggest voicing yourself to warn others of their horrible business practices. Like I and several others are doing. I also saw other customers voice a bad review of their practices mentioning a class action lawsuit. Sounds like this may be the best recourse.

As other reviews have already expressed. The quality of customer service and delivery has declined in recent years. More times than not, my orders as a Amazon Prime member are late more than they are on time. I have even had orders that state 'out for delivery' and by the end of the day, I get a notice saying the order is delayed. Several times I have had items that could be delivered the next day, but if I order multiple items. If I wait an extra 2 days they will ship all items together. Then after those extra 2 days.

The original item that I could have had delivered the next day, ends up being 2 or 3 days beyond the original 2-day extra wait. When contacting customer service all they basically say is if it doesn't arrive by a certain date then contact them to cancel the order and get a refund. So again, as others have also posted, why have a system that tells you if you order by a certain time you will have delivery by a certain date and hardly even stick by it. Why should we bother to continue paying for Prime service when we are not receiving Prime service.

I really hate to say this but Amazon has fake sellers—I believe! I ordered an electric bike/scooter for my sick child (for Xmas)in OCTOBER from AMAZON. I got a message next day that it shipped BUT a few weeks later it said it was going to be late-TWICE. Then they messaged me a week or so BEFORE XMAS stating that the bike was LOST IN TRANSIT!!! I tried to pull this same scooter/bike up on their website and it no longer exists—just weird!!! They told me there was nothing they could do but give me my money back! WHO does this RIGHT BEFORE XMAS???—I’m just so sad and disappointed in Amazon—there’s no words to describe…I also know they are not going to read this and nor do they really care but maybe people will. Who does this to people??? Bezos

I have been shopping Amazon for years. Each year they get worse regarding service. I am disabled, and rely on delivery to home. When you have Prime, they promise you delivery by such and such date. When considering an item, they give you how much time you have to enter item into cart and complete checkout to guarantee delivery by the date they show you. This has been failing terribly. I have to have major surgery tomorrow. I ordered a charger and cable, it wasn't what I wanted, but if I ordered and checked out within 8 hour window they showed, it would be delivered today. Not now, nope. They didn't even SHIP it until today, Wednesday, and I won't receive it until Friday.

When I called to speak with someone about this I get the runaround. Those are "estimates." I state, that's NOT what we are told when we pay for our prime dues, and that is NOT what that "delivery by" date before we place it in the cart says! The word "estimate" is not in there anywhere. Every year, their policies change. They want you to review the items one buys, BUT you cannot say anything about the seller, or mention other things pertinent to the item. It's like if you don't say what they want you to say, they will not post your review (all reviews have to go through their reviewers). They don't hold to their policies. The things I have been told they won't post my review however are in other recent posts by others, but not their "featured" reviews on products, which in my opinion seems to be when reviews are not posted if it is negative. They keep changing things. Like prime movie. Now, we have to pay not to see ads. Really?

They snuck in new terms on the Kindle services as well a few years back. This is my last year. I'll not renew. I hope people stand together against this. Amazon needs to remember, they are where they are because of people buying from them. To me, they are more of a disservice, and to justify their greed so blatantly, is a disgrace! When is enough enough? They used the excuse of covid for delayed shipping for nearly 2 years. But did you see them refund anyone for the service they guaranteed for your prime dues? Nope.

I have tried chatting and I have tried customer service. I spoke to them on 22nd, 26th and (today) 2nd January and every time is a different excuse. I spoke to Anjali in a chat on December 22nd. Who did nothing to check the return status but said it would be processed and 1 to 2 hrs but did not do anything about it as I found out. So, I called, and I spoke with a rep on the phone on 26th who said he spoke to third party, and they said it will be processed in 3-4 hrs who also did not process anything as what I found out (Today) 2nd January from Carla in care. I got escalated and she transferred me to someone else who can help to some Spanish rep, and I did not request a Spanish rep, so I ask the rep to transfer the call to a supervisor (Bhagya) who gave me a completely wrong answer like what.

I just want a refund so I can buy the correct item. That I can hear from. Is it that hard to do? I am handicapped with speech deficiency, but it is like all these people are making fun of in their tone and I can hear that on the call. I know my money is stuck on Amazon but really, they make it hard for people to get that back. Now I have no other way to get a correct answer from amazon, so I had to open this BBB case. And I told the supervisor I will escalate it but she did care. I paid for a headache from amazon.

Amazon Prime TV, starting February 2024, is no longer ad free. Amazon will be showing ads in streaming devices. To become ad free, it's additional 2.99 per month charge, or 36 dollars annually to your subscription fee. This is ridiculous, many pay for streaming, so they are not bombarded by ads. Other streaming platforms give their product for free, in place of ads..Completely understandable. But greedy Bezos wants both the advertising revenue and additional fees paid by users. With this additional fee, Amazon is now more costly than Netflix. Before you know it, Netflix will follow soon. Amazon is driving away users to other platforms. Amazon already charges for add-on channels, certain movies etc., etc. When an individual can jump over to TUBI and get it for free, but with ads. With Amazon showing ads but charging you at the same time. This is just corporate greed, nothing more. Time has come to move onto other streaming platforms or go back to regular cable, that has better programs watch.

I have used Amazon Prime for many years and it seems like they keep changing their offerings and not delivering on service that was paid for with the prime subscription. It has been nice to have free delivery on a quick basis but recently their delivery times have been excessive. Over the years their high price for prime was offset by their movies and content but recently they have very little to offer and if you want to watch more movies you need to pay extra for other streaming services and now they are raising their prices to watch what little they offer for additional fee to get rid of advertising.

For the annual amount they charge for prime, I can afford to pay for reasonable freight. I have found that Walmart offers the same service without a membership fee unless you go with their Walmart+ which is only necessary if you want quick shipment. They currently are shipping about the same a amazon with no shipping charges.

I currently have a paid annual membership with Amazon and whenever I am purchasing I always double check their prices with walmart and they are very close or lower. Unless amazon gets their act together I will not renew my membership and keep shopping both amazon and walmart. I hope amazon get the message that they can't keep charging for Prime and not give the value or service.

I had to shop at Amazon for Christmas 2023 because I live in Tennessee and my grandkids live in Florida. A box with only about 119$ worth of items DIDN'T show up in Palmetto Florida. We’ve had a lot of problems with the Palmetto post office so I called to let Amazon know the box didn’t show up. They told me to call the police and that was that they hung up the phone on me. When I called back they hung up again. Now keep in mind I paid over 1000.00 this holiday season with Amazon and they had still several orders not delivered yet. The items I purchased said sold by Amazon and delivered by Amazon but that was a lie even though the website said that they are allowed to use “partners” to deliver!!

Knowing I had several delivery problems with Palmetto Florida post office I made sure the items I chose would be delivered by Amazon I thought!! But not the case and then when post office didn’t deliver again and couldn’t find the box I am out 119$ and Amazon hung up on me.. So I then canceled the last few items that had NOT SHIPPED yet and Amazon wouldn’t return my money again!! Another 85$!!! Unbelievable so I have cancelled my Amazon prime which I’ve had for over 6 years also I had paid thru PayPal and so pay pal took out 168.00$ and then amazon also took out the same amount so I was double charged for THAT so watch your accounts. They’ve probably been doing this a while and I just didn’t notice but because it was Christmas and I’d had problems with that post office I noticed and they got caught. NEVER again. Please keep in mind that I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews. I remember when Amazon actually had a great relationship with their customers being able to call them and speak to a live person right away. Lately I have come across multiple sellers who are deceivingly selling products on the Amazon website claiming that they are new and discovering something else. I purchased the phone which I was told was brand new according to the seller. When I got my package I discovered that the phone that I had bought was actually a phone that had been renewed.

I know this because I have owned this phone three times in the past which was the LG V60 thin q. You could tell that the phone had been renewed because of the chips around the bezel that hold down the screen. Also functions would not work right mainly biometrics. When you bought this phone new the Biometrics worked perfectly. I called customer service to report the seller selling used items as new. They could care less they'll just keep doing it.

I have had to send back so many items to Amazon because of faulty advertisement and sellers being greedy and deceiving and when you notify customer service they don't care. They figure they're so big that nobody would dare challenge them. I mean why else would you not correct the people that are doing deceiving things with Amazon. Money money. I really feel let down by Amazon they're just another business out to make a book and they don't care who they screw over. sorry to sound so negative but I have really had a horrible experience with them. After I got off work I got a message that the delivery would be on Monday the 18th by 10pm. I had specific delivery instructions on where to place my delivery in my absence because I could not take off again. The delivery was made but my instructions were not followed and the package was placed in front of my front door visible to the street and sidewalk. I never received the packages which means they were likely stolen.

Amazon refuses to replace the purchase or refund the purchase which means I am now out of $570.00 and with no new laptop. Had the driver followed my instructions this problem would exist. Why ask for delivery instructions if the driver is not going to follow them? This is highly unacceptable. Due to an Amazon Driver's error I have to eat $570.00? Why is that? How simple could it be to follow delivery instructions to avoid these kind of issues? What else can I do to address this injustice? I paid for the products, shouldn't I get them? On September 25, 2023 I ordered a Queen Nectar Mattress for my daughter's NYC apartment. When she put it on the bed she realized it was a King Mattress. I called Amazon to arrange to return the King and have a Queen sent. The woman I spoke to at their customer service told me that they didn't have a way to pick it up because it was out of the box so it couldn't be shipped. I explained that getting it out of the apartment was going to be a huge hassle and that since it was Amazon's mistake they should figure it out. She apologized, told me there was nothing she could do & that maybe I could get a charity to pick it up and that she was sending me out the Queen that I ordered.

Goodwill told my daughter that maybe they could take it but she would have to bring it in. When my daughter called Nectar to ask them if they could pick it up they said they would be happy to but when she said I bought it from Amazon they apologized and said they could't assist. There was no way that she could get that huge mattress around NYC. She eventually found someone to drag it down nine floors and get it out of there. Three months later Amazon is charging me for the King mattress that I did not order and they would not take back. I have been an Amazon Prime member since its inception but I am cancelling it. The customer service is non existent and I have now been ripped off for seven hundred dollars for their mistake.

As Amazon has grown they’ve gone downhill significantly just like a lot. Only caring about money and how fast they can shove out products. They’ll hire anyone and it seems people who are lazy take jobs here because they get away with it. Repeatedly within the last couple of months I have paid an additional $2.99 for same-day shipping and I never get my item one time. I am probably owed at least $20 at this point for same-day deliveries not delivered within the specified timeframe if not more. I let customer service know, and their response was they are sorry it won’t happen again. Their response to everything is always that they are sorry it won’t happen again, and it always happens again. Which is another thing that repeatedly happens now that I live in a condo complex. We have a package room with a package locker inside which I paid for the package locker services.

They are too lazy to deliver the packages to my door most of the time and instead take them to the package room, but they don’t put them in the locker as they are supposed to. They literally just throw them in the room for a complex of hundreds of people and I have to spend a half hour out of my day searching for packages when I paid for a service that I could easily type a code in and have a locker pop open and retrieve my packages immediately. Of course, as previously mentioned, I contacted them and their response was they are sorry it won’t happen again. Repeatedly happens. Literally, just throw the packages in there and the boxes are often broken open and products inside broken and disheveled.

Last month I received an AutoShip box which was giant and had like 10 different products inside. The box was busted open and there was trash in it and a half empty Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee cup. Disgusting. Multiple of the products were also damaged. I’ve received literally an empty package of air, my friend ordered a card game and literally received a dildo. Amazon has the worst delivery drivers I've ever experienced. Not only do they do the bare minimum, but they have no consideration on making sure packages are being delivered properly and securely in the Amazon HUB lockers. This is not to bash the ones who actually go above and beyond for the company. These are the ones who are dressed in regular clothes who are trying to make a quick buck. This should be a huge concern for Amazon because eventually this billion-dollar company will see a financial loss due to the overwhelming demand on refunds or reshipment that never seems to make it due to the lack of work ethic due to these workers. Would really like to see a change in this company.

I purchased two wigs during a Black Friday special on Amazon from Yasgirl Nov 5th 2023. I never received the wigs. Amazon represented the seller. I was unable to contact them directly and Amazon said to not contact customer service until after Dec 1st for a full refund which is almost a month later. The sale was off and at time the wigs were at a deep discount. I contacted Amazon for replacements of which they said they had to contact the seller but they just wanted to give me a refund. During this time period Amazon started selling one of Yasgirl’s wigs on Amazon prime but I keep being told they cannot replace the wigs they have to contact the seller. Amazon refunded the money. How is Amazon unable to replace technically their own products? I feel like the sale was a bait and switch and Yasgirl never had any intentions on sending the wigs. And since Amazon handled the transaction they need to handle the replacement.

I was sent an item different from what I ordered (similar, but I ordered a single-flavor package of some organic snacks, and was sent a box with a mix/multiple flavors). I was told that due to "unusual return activity" - examples of which could not be provided to me - that I would need to submit, through some 3rd party, a copy of my official identification in order to be able to return/exchange/get a refund for that item.

I have rarely REQUESTED a refund from Amazon, but I have had refunds OFFERED to me by Amazon Customer Service when I have made contact regarding a damaged or incorrect item. None of these previous incorrect or damaged products have been my fault. Sometimes they have asked for me to send a photo of the incorrect/damaged item, and I have done that (they did not ask this time). I do not want a copy of my ID out on some 3rd party's system, where months from now I find out they had a "breach" and personal data may have been exposed.

I am disappointed, but more than that, actually disturbed, that Amazon thinks it is appropriate to respond to a customer who was sent an INCORRECT ITEM, with an accusation of "unusual refund activity" and a response that is essentially - 'sorry, if you aren't willing to provide more personal information, then we will not correct OUR mistake'. Really? Really. Such a shame. No longer a company I would recommend doing business with.

However I did get the order after 5 pm on 12/3/23 but the tape (not attached on one side top flap had been slide top flap opened) and on top looked like it had been rubbed against the ground (partially torn)? If this order was packaged for my shipment why does the tape look so beat up and old? I was able to remove all the items shipped by sliding the top flap open. I am writing this review to share a recent experience with Amazon that has left me deeply disappointed and concerned. After purchasing a Panasonic camera, I discovered that it was missing an essential component - the battery charger. This led me to contact Amazon's customer service, where I expected a simple and straightforward resolution. However, what transpired was far from satisfactory.

My interaction with a customer service manager named Cris, based in the Philippines, was not only unhelpful but also deeply troubling. Cris's approach to handling my concern was evasive and unprofessional. The situation escalated to a point where, following my expressed dissatisfaction, I received a notification about "abnormal activity" on my account, which I believe was a retaliatory action.

This experience has raised serious concerns about the misuse of power within Amazon's customer service. The treatment I received was not just poor service; it bordered on tactics I would associate with organized crime - using intimidation and authority to suppress and control. As a customer of over 18 years, I am shocked and appalled.

I believe such behavior within Amazon's ranks is unacceptable and poses a significant risk to customer trust and loyalty. I urge Amazon to address this issue seriously and take necessary steps to ensure that no other customer experiences such treatment. Until then, my confidence in Amazon and my decision to continue as a customer remains uncertain.

Example I ordered cases for new phones last Friday, 11/17. They were originally scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday, 11/22. They were not packaged for shipping until Monday and then were at a facility about 2 hours away from all day Tuesday and Wednesday. This is my very first time ordering products from Amazon. I ordered 3 items - Gypsum joint compound, a wireless Bluetooth speaker with microphone, and a dual camera drone. I placed this order on October 7, 2023 with express shipping that was supposed to arrive in 2 days. The joint compound and the Bluetooth speaker arrived in 4 days, both of these items were wrong. The joint compound was supposed to been the 5 gallon bucket. Instead I was sent a 3.3 gallon bucket. The Bluetooth speaker was wrong and did not hold a charge past 10 mins.

I called in to tell them that these are the wrong items and that the speaker doesn't work correctly and how I didn't get the items in 2 days and I paid for 2 day shipping. Ashley had a nasty attitude as if she didn't want to listen to me, because I said I just wanted my money back for the speaker. I didn't want another one or a replacement or to go back and forth with her on how I want my money back. So I hung up and called back the next day and this time Tomah (?) picked up. After telling her why I called she said, "Ok. I'll set you up with a refund kit and we'll get you your money right back to you once we get the product back."

Needless to say, she did not, I waited 5 days and called back in and spoke with Trevor and found out she didn't even start the return let alone send me any info about where to return it to. So Trevor was nice enough to actually help me with processing a return so that I could get a refund. The drone was expressed shipped as well, because my nephew bday was the 25th of October. So I wanted it to come before then, if I had of used regular shipping it would have taken more than 30 days to be shipped out to me. So, I paid for the 7-15 day shipping (on October 7th). I was given dates of the 20-31 of October to receive the drone.

On the October 20 I received a text message saying that the drone was delivered. But no pictures showing it was delivered so I left work to come home and get it. Needless to say it wasn't at my house. So I called in and spoke with a young lady (didn't get her name this time). She told me that the drone was on its way back to China. As I'm looking at the product tracking. It says the customer did not pick up package, tried to deliver (never did. That's a lie). I paid $20.+ the price of the drone for it to be delivered to my doorsteps, and now I have to be dora the explorer just to get this package. I explained to her. I asked her where do I go to get it and she couldn't even tell me!? She said "to China because that's where it's on its way to," I ask to speak to a supervisor because obviously she wasn't trying to help me locate it or anything to rectify the situation. Why I do that she hung up on me.

I called right back in and this time I spoke with Katie. Sounds like the same woman so I just hung up and gave it till the morning. Called back in because I received another text saying my package was ready for pickup (btw this is supposed to be delivered to my home address). I get to the front door. No package, no Amazon driver or nothing. So I called them again and spoke with Erika about it she said the package never left China (What a joke). I asked to speak with a manager. Why did I do that! So the next week (october 27) go by and I called in Because I wanted to know where the drone. Maria answered (nasty, rude attitude). At this point I was very disturbed because now I feel as though I'm being robbed so, I asked for a refund since it was being returned, I was told wait until October 31.

It is now Nov 1. @ 8pm I called in (spoke with Kylie) to see about my money being sent back to my card and to deactivate my account with Amazon (as I done had enough from Amazon). As I being to explain she interrupts me and tells me to call back on November 3. Of course I said, no I'm not waiting and proceeded to ask for management.

Now after waiting for 15 mins I was transferred to Jeff who is a supervisor and the only one for Amazon (the whole company, his words not mine). This man was so rude to me, it didn't make any sense. I told him the drone never arrived and I want my money back now, he tells me I need to wait until Nov 3, after going around in circles with him about this drone not even touching American soil because it says it hasn't been shipped out yet. I just told him I didn't care where it was, "Just send my money back. It's been 26 days. I paid for 7-15 day shipping. And it's a new month!!" Before I could finish that statement I was hung up on. For this to be my first experience with amazon this was a horrible one and I hope and pray no one ever makes another purchase with them.

I have only been an Amazon Prime member since the beginning of 2018. For the first 4 years everything was great. Delivery's always on time and I when they said. For the last 2 years every 2-3 orders say the item is out for delivery, right up to about 1 hour prior to when they said it would arrive. Then I get a message that says; "We're sorry, your item is running late. You should expect it in 3-4 days. If you do not receive it by then, you can cancel the order." This is so frustrating! Many times I pick what I am ordering, based on when it will be delivered. Amazon is great about canceling items, and also about returns. If I receive the item, and it was too late for when I needed it, the closest location where I can return it for free and do not need a label is over 6 miles away. May not seem far, but it is an inconvenience. So disappointed in this. I could understand once or twice, but this is literally every 2nd or 3rd order.

Obviously, there is no way to complain to Amazon about this. Also, the box was dented on one side.

Amazon customer service is no longer a leader. For the second time in two months Amazon's new model has made shopping less convenient for me. It is now difficult to speak with someone at Amazon and they no longer are trained to resolve issues. In one instance, after receiving a damaged product, there was no replacement option and the return process was drawn out so that it took weeks for my refund. Phone calls to customer service were long and unhelpful with the rep putting me on hold for every question. Certainly, a first world problem for someone who enjoyed the ease of Amazon for many years. All good things come to an end.

Amazon has become worse in 2023. Not only have they stopped promoting and honoring 2-day delivery with Prime, but orders arrive later than promised and we get incorrect items or notifications that deliveries were made, but they were not. Customer service is non-existent. The company leaders are so focused on building more warehouses that they cannot even focus on improved employee and customer service. If the point of Amazon Prime is no longer a "thing", I don't see a need to keep buying products here when the company is only a warehouse and abusing both customers and sellers. It makes more sense to go directly to the sellers and skip Amazon completely.

I have been posting book reviews on Amazon for many years, always buying the books at the site to get the cachet of “Verified purchase”. My efforts resulted in more than thirty reviews appearing on Amazon, many rated as either “Top Positive Review” or “Top Critical Review”. But when I submitted a review of “The Last Politician” by Franklin Foer, I got a terse email from Amazon that it could not be posted “because it doesn’t meet our guidelines for one or more of these reasons: Profanity, Harassment, Hate Speech, Sexual Content, Illegal Activity, Private Information”.

This had never happened before, and I was quite surprised. I went to the link that showed the “Community Guidelines” and read all six pages, scratching my head, trying to figure what I’d done wrong and then I realized the issue was politics. The person checking my review was apparently an extreme liberal so I made some changes that I thought might let my piece “pass” and I resubmitted it. But I soon realized this was a waste of time because I could make changes piecemeal again and again, but without knowing exactly what in my 850 word review was the ”problem”, my efforts would be fruitless.

How could I get the nameless and faceless Amazon person behind the “wizard’s curtain” to tell me what to do? I remembered seeing on my “Author’s Page” a place where I could recommend books. I’d never used this feature before but now got the idea to cite Franklin Foer’s book as a “Recommendation”, writing in the comments, “I wrote a review of this book that did not pass the Amazon Moderator and I hope they will tell me what to change.” This was an act of desperation because I truly wanted to get my review posted and I was willing to make rewrites but had to have some guidance, sort of like we got from our high school English teacher who would take a red pencil and underline the problem.

Apparently, my ploy with Amazon backfired because I soon got an email saying my post was “outside of our guidelines” and “consider this to be a first warning.” Amazon’s ire was about the book recommendation I’d put on my author’s page (specifically the comments showing Amazon in a bad light) since this was the only “post” I’d ever made other than book reviews.

This was going nowhere, and I was not going to play Amazon’s games. I replied to the email, saying, “if you cannot tell me what I am doing wrong I will cancel my book advertising, Amazon Prime, and the Amazon prime credit card and quit making purchases from Amazon.” Six days later I got a reply email saying, “You have repeatedly posted content that violates our Community Guidelines . . . [and therefore] we’ve removed your ability to participate in Community features.” This was untrue because I’d only made one post, the one where I said, “I hope they [Amazon Moderator] will tell me what to change [in the review that had been rejected].”

Unfortunately, all the book reviews I’d posted on Amazon over the years were deleted. This was quite disappointing because I’d spent hundreds of dollars on dozens of books, reading them closely over countless hours in order to write honest and informed book reviews and now my work had come to naught. I truly doubt that anyone has put more effort(both in the reading and the writing) into creating a book review than I have. Amazon’s actions have not only hurt me but are a disservice to millions of readers who rely on quality reviews to make wise decisions in their book purchases.

As I said earlier, I’ve submitted critical assessments of other books to Amazon and never had a problem and I must conclude the current issue is over politics, simply having a different opinion. While I did say some positives about the author, I also faulted him for being almost sycophantic toward Biden. What he wrote was an uncritical fluff piece and I called it as such.

The review, as written, would be passable to any reasonable person and there is nothing out of bounds in it. I read the book thoroughly and wrote an honest, critical review with no malice or evil intent. For anyone interested, a google search of “book reviews of ‘The Last Politician’” will take you to Goodreads where you’ll find my piece and you can decide for yourself.

I’ve been a loyal Amazon customer for more than 10 years. Rarely I experienced any issues with returning an item or the quality. But this all changed since this past Prime day in Oct 2023. I ordered 12 items. 10 arrived on time and no issues at all. 2 items were a nightmare (on separate orders). One was a jacket and what delivered to me were 2 boxes of weights around 50lbs in a big broken box. It is just so bizarre and upsetting. I can’t lift it to return it. After chatting customer service online, I was told they’d have UPS come to pick it up. The box has been outside the door for 5 days and no one came.

The 2nd item was 2 medication cream I ordered previously without any issue. I didn’t know it came from 3rd party. They came with expiration date 10/2022. The items are not eligible to return. So I have to go through layers of finding the seller and trying to solve the issue. If only I had known it’s 3rd party and not eligible to return, I’d never ordered it in the first place. Same as the other customer’s feedback, it’s very time consuming to deal with the customer service. From now on, I’ll have to be really careful about the seller before buying anything from Amazon. I go for the convenience but in doubt I will be going to Walmart or Target. If Amazon can’t be convenient and trustworthy, there is no point doing business.

Turns out Amazon was not the problem, it was the seller. For some reason the refund on this item had to come from them. Amazon did eventually make them refund the $300. My rating of Amazon is now 4 stars.

    Original Review: Oct. 19, 2023

Purchased a Tinco vacuum. One week after receiving it returned under Prime membership return plan. It was $426. The purchase was made using a $300 Amazon gift card and 126 from my credit card. After two weeks received only $126 refund. Despite numerous emails to Tinco and talking to Amazon customer service multiple times still no refund of the $300 gift card amount.

Amazon customer service says either it will post in 12-24 hours or sometimes they say 3-5 business days. One cs rep said 30 days. Not refund though, despite their claim it would happen. Worse than that, when I respond to Tinco's inquiry through Amazon about my disputed refund amount they seem to play dumb. Keep asking why the $126 was not correct amount...duhhhhh! And why in heck is Amazon having me deal with the manufacturer on a return which was correct under Prime procedures.

I asked them to explain how were gift cards that I added less than an hour before were redeemed when the last purchase I made was in July. The lady then stated she would have to transfer it to a different department and I would receive an email in 48 hours as to what their decision is. I asked to speak to a person in that specific department and was told there is no direct number or email for them. So basically Amazon can steal money from hard working people. I will not support a company who steals from the American people and will never buy from Amazon again.

Easy to buy all that cheap ** but when it comes to returns well that's a different story. Junk (Amazon packages) that come via USPS I have had to return to a UPS store, with the closest one being 80 miles from my house. Opened a UPS account for my business now it is much easier. Now the Amazon app won't work on my wife's phone. Which makes it even harder to get return labels printed.

The only reason I know this is because my wife continues to buy crap that don't work from Amazon. And it's up to me to get it boxed and return labels made. Wonder why their app don't work?? Probably want her to upgrade to 5g, I have been with EBay since 1999 and not once has their app made me upgrade my device to use their site. Not to mention if I have a problem with something I buy off ebay. I resolve it by contacting a real person and not some computer or customer service who cannot speak the language. At the recommendation of my post-graduate supervisor, I commanded "Marketing Accountability: A New Metrics Model to Measure Marketing Effectiveness" by Malcolm McDonald on Amazon on September 21, 2023. Since the delivery was expected between October 3 and October 16, I didn't pay too much attention as I was expecting an email on delivery.

Today (October 14, 2023), I decided to check on my Amazon account what was happening with my delivery. It turns out that the focal item was supposedly delivered on September 27 - at least one week before the expected delivery range. Yet, as I look at my email, I never received any notification that the shipping was delivered...

For God's sake, how is a normal customer supposed to do their due diligence with their shipping if the goods are delivered outside of the expected date range and the carrier doesn't even bother to notify the recipient that the delivery has been done? Naturally, being a post-graduate student living with less than $12,000 of yearly income, I try to request refunding. No way to chat with customer support and the chatbot says banality about it is the seller’s problem and not theirs. Then, I requested a phone call and yet another automatic voice-robot saying the exact same banality.

With no other choice, I tried to contact the vendor via their system and didn’t even get an email proving that I contacted them so I could make a reclamation to my credit card provider under the “Consumer Protector Act”. Exasperated, I wrote a bad review on the product describing the exact same problem, which naturally was silenced by their moderation team. Good job Amazon on making it impossible for the poorest people in society to get a refund and doing such a good job managing your reputation on your own platform (owned media). It’s a shame that there are independent platforms on which exasperated customers can do negative eWOM without your interference, though…

Hi. I've been a customer of Amazon and many of their add-on products for over 20 yrs. Honestly, the majority of my paycheck goes to them. I've been a Prime Member for at least 10-15 yrs. I really just wanted to reach out to them directly to express my disappointment on two concerns, but it feels like it takes a half day going through FAQs and drop downs, to find any place where you can write out a concern without talking to a chat bot and I eventually lost patience. At any rate, my first concern is their auto response regarding the so called A-Z Guarantee. I placed a large order, with one small dollar item. The majority of items arrived on 10/11/23, but the one item never arrived, yet I received a delivery status update as delivered 10/12/23.

I waited until 10/14/23 and clicked on "Problem with item - item not delivered". The auto response I received is "you are not eligible to request a refund". I go back and look and the product page absolutely says I am, and even states eligible for returns and emphasizes FREE Returns FREE Prime delivery Saturday, October 21 - I had no problem waiting until the 21st, but they claimed it was delivered on the 12th.

When I was initially searching for the item to purchase, I filtered by Prime-only and lo and behold, a dreaded 3rd party vendor sneaked its way into my life. 1st issue - don't auto respond that all is hopeless by telling me it's not eligible for a refund...that is unacceptable - be more positive, and at least say you are eligible after you jump through a bunch of hoops, or however you care to word smith that and at that point include a link to list of rules (which I did follow considering I didn't report issue until the status showed as delivered - and I did reach out to the vendor, and they likely won't give me a problem, but your auto response is what has me upset). This brings me to my 2nd concern.

Please make it much simpler for your customers to weed out 3rd parties, as you clearly do not trust them with so many extra hoops...so why should we? As we know when we do attempt to filter by Prime we have to reset the parameter Every Single Time...so junk slips through, and now that there are bogus references to Prime in the description, the filter no longer works correctly. $6.00 item, really...My life won't be shattered if I never get the item or refund...I generally resist even pursuing resolution for small dollar problem but really just wanted my voice heard and acknowledged. I'm getting so tired of the growing list of what seem to be complicated sales practices and dismissive treatment of customers (oh, 3rd concern - please stop having Alexa try to sell me stuff, you get enough of my $$$). Thanks. Sincerely a customer who has shopped with Amazon since the time it was only books.
