I've been using Jenny Craig for seven years 'cause I lose weight. The program is working as I expected and I stick to it completely until I lose weight. I love their pizzas. I'm a permanent resident in one State and non-resident in another. I go to both of their shops there and they're wonderful.

My mom went to Jenny Craig 20 years ago and she really wanted it. I decided to go with them and Whitney, Daniel, Lou and Greg were wonderful and very encouraging. They were also very positive and had good team work. I used Jenny Craig for a year and I lost 50 pounds. My stepfather got really ill and so I've been off Jenny Craig for a year and I've gained 77 pounds. I'm in the process of getting porcelain veneer implants so, when I get my teeth, I'll go back because I know this program works. In the meals that Jenny Craig provided, the Chicken Alfredo was my favorite and for breakfast, the Country Scramble. My favorite dessert was the Key Lime Pie and I also like the meatloaf. I'm on this whole Paleo diet right now and I'm trying to do things without doing Jenny Craig but it's not working as I want it to. I'm not losing the weight that I would like to lose and I know I can lose that weight with them.

I like the program with Jenny Craig and I’ve been doing it for years. It was very good with my personal consultant. We go in and discuss how the week went and then, we weigh and discuss what food we want. Then, she goes over what I ordered. I like all the meals but I wish they were a little cheaper. Other than that, the results have been very good and I’ve lost 33 pounds this time.

My experience with Jenny Craig has been good. I needed something that had the food provided because I was a college student and that would make it a lot easier. Jenny Craig was ranked higher so I went with them. It was easy to get the appointment and to start the program, and my personal consultants were very nice. I don’t know if I found them to be 100% necessary but I can see how it can be beneficial to other people that may be struggling with the program.

I've been using Jenny Craig for a year and a half now but it’s been on and off. When I was on it, the results were strong. I almost hit my goal which was 100 pounds. But then I went off it for quite a long time and have unfortunately gained some of that back, which I’m now working to lose again. When I was a junior in college, the meal plan was easy, just stick with everything. But at work, it’s more difficult because it takes a while for the meals to cook. But compared to other co-workers, I’m just doing a quick reheat. The meals are good and I enjoy eating it. It’s a good selection. I have recommended Jenny Craig.

I've been going to Jenny Craig for 17 years now. Over the period of time, I've been up and down a lot, but it’s nice. I lose weight on the program and then I go off, and then I'll go back. I've had the same consultant and she has been very consistent and very good. The weekly visits go well with us. The food's good as well. I like the Salisbury steak and the snacks are really good.

I’ve been with Jenny Craig for years now and my experience with them has been great. I like that the food is prepared for me. I live a very busy lifestyle and I don’t care for all that measuring. I just take it out of the refrigerator and it’s there. I love the new meal. They have the penne and the breakfasts and I really enjoy each and every one of them. I told them that when I work out and I’m really on a diet, no matter what I have, it just tastes so good. I can’t have any tacos or anything that’s extra hot, so they know with my plan I’m really safe from all that. The lunches are loaded. But I do the meal plan that's mostly everything I get. I’m not a tuna person, so they know the same thing. But I love the chicken salad and the tomato. I also like baked potatoes. I’m really happy and I enjoy them all.

I’m in the Denver area and I used the Jenny Craig in Denver. All the consultants there are wonderful. When I walk in, everybody says, “Hello. How are you?” regardless if they’re waiting on me or not. The new girl, Janine, who’s running it now is wonderful too. I’ve seen each and everyone one of them because there are times with my appointment where one of them is busy. They’re all so nice, and the girls are very happy and that’s important.

The first time I went with the program, I lost a lot and I was down 50 pounds. I have a son that went to culinary and he’s a chef now. I was his guinea pig. I dropped a lot of pounds and I maintained good, but I went back because that was an issue. So, I came back and I’ve been with them and doing my program. I always feel good dropping the pounds. I just had my doctor’s appointment and everything was good with my physical. I’ve told others, “People, if you stick to the program, you will lose. You will lose if you stick with them.”

My previous experience with Jenny Craig was successful and this is my 5th time on it. I just gained my weight back and I knew that I could get good help from them. The same ladies that I worked with the last time are still working there now, and the weekly visits work pretty good. I’d go in, they ask me how I went, I weigh in and this time, I’ve lost about 31 pounds without a week yet where I gained weight. Sometimes I’d lose more than others but I always have a slight loss each week. It's as good as any diet program. However, it’s pretty expensive and I don’t think just anybody could afford it. I spend about $155 close to $160 a week and I would think that not everybody would be willing to spend that kind of money. Other than that, I’d definitely recommend them.

We tried other programs before and we thought we’d try Jenny Craig. We’ve been with them a couple of times but this time, we’ve been with them for about five months now. The counselor we have right now is the best one we’ve ever had. She’s great. The weekly visits are really important. It makes you accountable and you get some advice and kinda cheer you on, which is great. My husband lost 30 something and I’ve lost about 20 something. I’m slow because I’ve had knee replacements so I can’t do much exercise.

For the most part, the food was really good and it seemed like we’ve had more success doing the Rapid Results even though we haven’t had huge results. But for weight loss, the Rapid program has worked best for us. We liked the baguette, the cheeseburger, the turkey and mashed potatoes, and the Salisbury steak. But it seems like the company might have some quality control issues because we’ve had to take food back that either half the food wasn’t in the box or there is a quality control issue where they package it. Like the lava cake, you get the cake but no lava. On the other hand, the variety was really good. I'd definitely recommend Jenny Craig.

Compared to other weight loss programs, Jenny Craig is convenient since the food is already prepared and I just need to add a few things. The program is easy to follow as it doesn't require a lot of work on my part. I have been using Jenny Craig for 10 years now and my interactions with them have always been positive. I've tried most of the meals on their menu just to see. But the taste doesn't remain consistent whenever they go to a different supplier. I used to like the chicken fettuccini but they might have changed the manufacturer of that now and I no longer like the taste of that. I would like to see more changes in the menu. Instead of changing two or three times a year, I would like to see other options throughout the year. Jenny Craig works. It's a very simple program to use and you see results. It's worth the try.

If I could give this company a zero star review, I would. I’ve been on the Jenny Craig diet in the past and was very pleased. The meals sent to me were not edible. They mixed very inexpensive foods such as bags of popcorn as if you were on their inexpensive option but you paid $700 for it. They explained their policy was to cancel 2nd order within 3 days to not be charged $99. After 3 days you must pay $99. Customer Service refuses to cancel 2nd order. Their reps read from a script and were not helpful. I was willing to pay the $99 to cancel but their response was to tell me that they listened to the recording and I could not cancel the order.

I was disappointed because if they actually listened to the recorded conversation, I should have been able to cancel the order for $99. I was extremely disappointed with the customer service dept and “supervisor “. The food caused so many stomach issues. The company should be sued. Don’t ever believe that they are going to resolve the issue because they speak from a scripted answer and then continuously repeat it. It’s like speaking to a robot. The consultant did exactly the same thing. Rattled off a script so expect no questions you have to be answered. I believe that the people I spoke to were not in the United States. Save your money.

My sister had gone on Jenny Craig before and I decide to with their program as it was already premade and I didn't have to measure and count. The interactions with the people at Jenny Craig were good. My sister and I both went together and we're still going in by the batch. Caitlyn, my personal consultant, is very good and I like her. She knows what I like or not. And she'll give me tips like sometimes, I mix the stuff around and she said that I can move the days but not move the stuff. She also gave me tips if I go off and then make better choices than others.

It's a little far for me to drive but I go every week. I wish Jenny Craig would open one in College Station. I've been on the Jenny Craig program for two years now and I did really well at first and then I went off over the winter break and have decided to go back on it. So, I'm starting to lose that now. I have lost a bit of weight, which is 45 pounds. Their menu plan is good and I like most of the food. It's easy for me, with my schedule, to microwave the food, throw a salad and I'm done. I like the lava cake and for the most part, I like the quality of their meals. But I'm allergic to pork so I can't use that one. Other than that, there's not any of them that I absolutely won't eat.

I have tried to cancel this program for some time. An unauthorized amount $360 was charged to my credit card. Now I'm after speaking to several people they would do a "ticket" cancelling my order from being delivered and refund my money. I am a lifetime member and was told I only would pay for the food. Corporate as Jen called it (credit department) said they don't show me as lifetime and I would have to pay $99 to cancel.

I have done 3 1/2 months on the program and lost 15 pounds. What pulled me into program was the catch "Rapid Results." 16 pounds in a month. Last time I did program I lost 10 in a month. This time 15 in three and a half months. Very expensive and I was billed things on my card that I never received and they won't credit back only give food credit? Plus the $360 was never authorized and Jen said she never put that charge through yet corporate read it off to me and my bank reports it. They still won't credit my card saying they have to send check?? I want my money now not in weeks. I have cancelled for two weeks but who can bet that food will be on my doorstep Thursday? Disrespect and disregarded. Never again unless sold in the grocery store. So much for lifetime members.

My husband had passed away and I wasn't eating properly. My daughter had done Jenny Craig a couple of years prior and she said the food was good. I've been trying a lot of different diets when I was younger and this just made it perfect for me because being a widow, I'm only cooking for one person and that was the easy choice. My personal consultant was very supportive and encouraging. I'm very upset that she has left the company. I had lost 50 pounds with her and she was amazing. Every week, she had a smile on her face. She never puts me down. She was in El Cajon and she moved to Mission Valley and I followed her. The company didn't treat her good so she left and got another position. And after she left, I stopped Jenny for a while.

But I called her before she left and she said, "I chose not to stay at Mission Valley just because El Cajon was closer from my home." Before she left she gave me two names of two consultants there. And she said, "Go and see. Either one would be perfect match for you." They're very nice ladies so I started back at El Cajon with one of them.

I used Jenny Craig for over a year, which I'm really confused about this whole thing too. I paid $19 a month for one year. Plus all my food. And then I got discouraged because I had heard a couple women in there saying, "Well, I get 30% off," or "20% off." And I get 10% off because I am a senior and they wouldn't give me any other discount. That's the only discount they would give me. I am a widow and I live on social security. I called the center. I just started back two weeks ago with Diana because I had gained half my weight back and I don't want to get back where I was.

I purchase everything that's on there and I'm on the 1200-calorie a day diet. I go through the breakfast, the lunch, the dinners and the snacks. The only thing if I don't care for one or two of the meals, I switch it out. And then she has a list that I can switch things out with. And so I switch it out but that's very rare. I'm on week two right now and I only switched out one thing. But everything else, I kept the same.

But I'm a little disappointed because they just changed some of the meals and they took away some of my favorite ones too and replaced it. Diana said that maybe they got a different manufacturer that makes the meals. They changed up the meatloaf and the mac and cheese but they're still good. Jenny Craig is a perfect program for me. The mindset that I was when I very first went into Jenny, I was so gung-ho. And now, I'm to the mindset where I don't want to get any heavier. I would love to still lose my other 25 pounds again. But if I don't, it's okay.

My husband and I are empty nesters and he doesn’t like the same food that I do. So when I saw Jenny Craig, it seemed a good fit for me. I went in and met with my assigned counselor. She talked to me, explained the programs and measured me. We talked about the different food selections, which were really good and pretty robust. There have been some dishes that I really liked and there have been some that I don’t, but I would never know until I've tried it.

I pay a little more compared to dinners in the grocery store but the quality is a lot better. Plus you would be able to buy a ginormous big bag of those little chips there but what happens is you eat the whole thing. With Jenny Craig, it's pre-portioned out. I don’t like that the portions aren’t larger but that would not be a weight loss program. I’m using the Rapid Results program but I’m over 65 so things don’t happen so fast. Plus, I travel a lot for work and if you eat out and order a piece of fish, you know it's covered with butter to make it taste good. If I’m not exercising, it doesn't work either. It's just not as fast as I’d like but I am definitely progressing.

I've only started my Jenny experience a few weeks ago. Results are decent. I have one major issue though. The only protein anytime/snacks available in my area are the peanut or cinnamon bar. Peanut does not agree with me, and cinnamon makes me throw up, so I've been choking down the Honey Peanut bar which has been leaving me in less than stellar condition. The menu boasts all these different options like a cookie dough bar and shakes, but I can't get them, and those options were the reason I joined in the first place, and I didn't find out they weren't available until after I'd already signed up. I'm not sure it's going to be worth it.

The first time I went to Jenny Craig was 30 years ago, and they’ve always been very positive. Their selection of foods is very good and I like the variety. It suits my taste just fine and I’m getting what I paid for. Although I understand that I’m paying for some overhead as far as the centers, I wish the cost was a bit less. I meet with my consultant and we usually look at the week ahead. Like right now, I have a flexible work schedule. I’m an independent contractor, so I’m traveling and I’m coming and going quite a bit. My consultant worked with me to try to figure out what are the days that are gonna be easy to stay on track and what are the days that are gonna be challenges. Sometimes, I customize the week based on knowing when I’m not gonna have access to a freezer and we’ll work with the options. Jenny Craig's program is very good and I’m very pleased with it. I get great results when I stick to the program.

I've been with Jenny Craig since '95 and I would order food off and on. I'd go for a couple of years and then, one of the kids would get married, so I go back again, trying to fit in the dress. Their food selection is pretty good and I’m always happy when they add something and change up the menu a bit. I have to take out my wine but I found it easy if I just have it on Wednesdays or on weekends. Cost-wise, it is what I’d spend if I went out to dinner a couple of times a week and I'm happy with the results this time.

Jenny Craig was some place convenient that I could walk into and get my food and not have to do it by mail or drive straight across town. 30 years ago, I joined them for the first time then I came back in 2014. I took another break and then I started back in January. My personal consultant and I discussed the plan including where I have problems and suggestions on how to get over it. She's very positive and she gives good suggestions. The overall quality of Jenny Craig's meals are good but they keep getting smaller.

Using their menu plan is easy. I just go and whatever it says, I pull it out and fix it. I take and eat much of what's on the menu except anything spicy. I have problems with spicy food and I have to watch out for those including the burritos. Since I started back in January, I have seen results but I got into a bit of a rut where I had problems with late afternoons. I picked up the wrong things sometimes because I've not always been much of a snacker and I have to blame myself for any fall down. But I would suggest Jenny Craig to anyone who might ask.

I felt that Jenny Craig's food was better than other weight loss programs. The consultant was great and the company is fine. It’s going slow but that’s my fault. I’m not really good on the pasta dishes but some of them are okay. I don’t eat fish or shrimp and I’m allergic to that. I mostly like the things that are junk food, like a burrito or a hamburger. Other than that, the quality of the food has been very good. My daughter thinks it’s a good program and I would recommend it.

I’ve been with Jenny Craig twice and my first session was really great. I had an amazing consultant who was really helpful and motivating. Then I gained some weight back so I decided to rejoin and get organized. Now I’m on my second session and the consultant is mediocre. I think their people are overworked and unhappy. They have no interest or enthusiasm in what they do. They’re in-and-out, which is okay, it just makes sense because I don’t want a lot of fussy silliness.

I don’t depend on them to make me happy but I do notice that if I wasn’t getting what I wanted out of Jenny Craig, I wouldn’t be hanging around. I go in, buy my food, and I come home. There’s no additional motivating support that comes from them. I'm on Fast Track and it has been going really well. I like the fish and chips as well as the turkey and wild rice. They’re TV dinners, but they have good quality. And whatever I eat from Jenny is better than the three Big Macs I would have had.

Jenny Craig’s program is so easy and convenient. I don't have to think, fret, or worry about it, or count calories or points or anything else. I just do it. I suffer from depression so I become pretty inactive every once in a while. And I'm very short in stature. So it's battle to not be too heavy for my height. The people are very encouraging and non-judgmental. No matter how bad it gets, they remain positive. And they don't berate you for having had a bad week. It's like having your mother there. Also, the meals are of excellent quality. I find the turkey and wild rice delicious.

My one huge complaint about Jenny Craig is that they use black plastic and Toronto can't recycle black plastic. We have a major recycling program but we can't find the market for black plastic. And it has to be separated from the rest of our recycling because it contaminates everything. And we just put it in the landfill. I'm just heartbroken to do that. I mentioned it to them in California and they said they'll look into it. They said they always have trouble finding the right suppliers and I can understand that. I'm going as fast as I can with the program so I can stop using all those black plastic. Despite that, it has been a very positive experience and I would recommend them to a friend.

I like the structure of the weight-loss program and the weekly visits helped me in trying to achieve my goal. Sometimes, I would lose 100 pounds, but I increased 30. And next, I lost 70 pounds and I want to lose 30 pounds more. Their menu is effective, the food is healthy and what I like about it the most is they send it with the breakfast. Jenny Craig was providing the food, which was the biggest thing for me, so I chose them. We had good consultants and then if it wasn’t a good fit for whatever reason, then I just requested another one. I gave myself a year to use it and the results have been good. I did some travelling so I went off, but I’m back on it now. I tried doing the travelling thing. I did have the meals with me and I used some of the part of it but I’m just not as disciplined yet when I'm on a vacation.

I do like their menu plan though. I know that they’re taking a stand of not wanting us to choose. I get that but with the current menu, they’re saying we only get three changes. But if you don’t like something, you don’t like something. They need to have their standards to have a bit more flexibility because there are choices. There’s more than one meal that fits the same criteria that you’re trying to get for that day so there happened to be more things that somebody doesn’t like. In fact, my sister is having a terrible experience with them but I’m doing fine. I love mine. I just wish they'd give a bit more notice if they’re going to take a product away or revamp it. There are some things to work on but my experience has been good, overall. Jenny Craig works for me.

A friend was on Jenny Craig and referred me to them. Their program is simple and the food is already prepared. It's a good program if I'm using it and exercise about the same time. It's easy to follow, but it is a bit on the pricey side. Their people are on the ball as far as getting in touch with me and trying to keep me on the program. When I go in, they're empathetic and helped me to find solutions when I'm up against the wall. Usually, we talk first about what's usually going on and then talk about what my challenges were for the week, what my challenges will be for the upcoming week, what my goals are and if there are any questions I have while I'm trying to do any variety of the food.

I was on the program for about a year and then I went off for a while. And then I was on the program again for about a couple of months and I've been off again now for a bit because I've had some personal issues. The first year I was on the program, I had lost about 36 pounds. But then, I put the weight back. And now, I haven't dropped anything because it has been stressful to try to even get there.

The Jenny Craig menu plan was good. But because I've been on the program longer than I should have been, I found out after a while that I was getting sick of the food. They don't have enough variety of food. Although there were certain dishes that were good and then there were a few that I stayed away from because I disliked them. And when there's something I don't like, that narrows down the choices even more. Nevertheless, I was impressed with how tasty the food was for being frozen product. I would recommend other people to Jenny Craig and tell them that it worked for me when I was dedicated, but if they're not dedicated, then it won't work for them.

Some years ago, I had a diagnosis of a psychiatric condition which is a controllable and acquired psychiatric condition. I had to undergo medical treatment. The medications that I was given produced effects which involved the change of conduct and one of the side effects was that it made me overeat. It affected the way where my body couldn’t control the emotions over food. So, I went under that treatment which was successful, but I ended up weighing about 269 pounds from the 177-166 pounds that I was at the beginning.

My physician told me that I had to go down in my weight because I became hypertensive. I was put under blood pressure pills, had to buy a machine and undergo blood pressure measurements every day. It was a pretty tough road. He talked to me about Jenny Craig and told me that it had worked with him. I needed to stop using blood pressure medication and had to stop measuring every day, so I went right into it with the money I had.

My personal consultant was great. She has helped me all around with the process of me coming back to weight. When I first started, my weight went down from 268 to 180 pounds and then went back up again. Now, I’m back down again so the program itself works. I’m an Agronomist, so I know pretty much about food. I started doing the basis of the program which is calorie-counting and my personal consultant said to me that I had to become really strict with it. Aside from losing weight, I’m also off the blood pressure medication and off the machine. I control and use very few medications right now.

Most people that start on a diet are under stress if they’re cooking the food right and if they’re not going beyond the calorie. But with Jenny Craig, I simply buy the food. So I’m simply worrying about getting to my goal weight. Some of the food’s good, but others aren’t. And I don’t feel completely full with some food like the Tuna Dill Salad Kits and the Chicken Salad Kits which are really small for a 5’9” guy like me. Sometimes, it’s a bit tough to hang on to every bite to get myself full, but I’ve been able to move around it because my consultant told me things that I could substitute. But I don’t change the menu and try to keep them as it is. There are some food that are really good, like the Chocolate Lava Cake, Turkey & Wild Rice, Szechuan Shrimp, Fettuccine Alfredo, the breakfast and the pastas. I also always drink the soup at the end of my dinner, so it has helped to feel satisfied.

If anybody’s really having a problem with their weight and are truly undergoing medical restrictions, then consider Jenny Craig. Don’t go into it just because you're fat and if you do, you are going to fail. Also, pay attention to everything that you do because there are other factors that affect the diet as well. Non-diet soft drinks and juices aren’t allowed in the program. If you take those drinks, you’re not going to have the full extent of the benefits of the program. I’ve seen people that say that the program doesn’t work for them, but they were not taking it seriously. If you’re not into diet and you have not started a conscientious diet effort, don’t get into the program. It usually works if you put your effort in it. On the money side, it’s a considerable amount of money, but it’s worth every penny.

I joined JC in 2012 and had great success but had to quit when I was laid off from my job. I rejoined recently and was very annoyed to learn that I could no longer pick what I wanted to eat. Supposedly more than 3 substitutions affects the integrity of the diet but that is nonsense, I lost a lot of weight picking my own food. The food is not cheap, why should I pay premium prices for food I'm not crazy about. Also the staff should be warning clients that this is a very high fiber diet, the recommended amount of fiber is 25 grams per day, this diet has almost 3x that much, so no one should be surprised if they have stomach trouble. I will not stay on the diet as long as I had originally planned due to their new way of doing things.

I did lose more weight than in previous times, just a little slower. To other reviewers, of course it is processed... it is frozen dinners. I actually saved money for groceries. The downfall is I don't like shakes, milk or any milk products and that was the majority of breakfast foods. I would join again in a minute if they would substitute... Checked a couple of times and they wouldn't without charging me extra... too bad.

Jenny Craig member since 2010 and maintained my membership over the years in case I needed it. This is my 3rd successful weight loss (24 lbs) on Jenny Craig and this time it's for keeps - I plan on continuing lunch breakfast with dinners on my own, and weekly appointments to stay on track. I'm 56 years old and my health demands that I keep it off.

Pros: Eat what is planned and you will lose weight. I hear friends complain that Jenny "didn't work" for them. That's because they put food in their mouth that increased their daily calories over 1500. It's not rocket science, and it's not the fault of the program. The food is tasty. I dispute some reviewers' assertions about unhealthy ingredients. Their food has less sodium, less fat, and more protein than Lean Cuisine and other frozen foods. In 17 years I've only had one counselor that shouldn't have a job interacting with other human beings. All of them over the years have been good or better than good. We talked about the emotional component to eating, life stressors, etc., and I was always encouraged. It feels like visiting a friend and getting good advice.

Cons: The company appears to be caught in a perpetual cycle of cannibalizing itself to cut corners instead of investing in solutions that put the customer first. Seems like a no-brainer, but the customer still seems to be the lowest priority. It's a recipe for the end of a decades-old company. No one answers the phone at the center because the company is so consumed with cutting corners, they force some centers' employees to work 3 hours, close the center, then return some hours later to finish the day. It's a struggle to get an appointment that works for me, and no one I know, commuting any significant distance, could maintain this schedule as an employee. My last counselor was absolutely amazing, but she had a life, and couldn't hang around and do errands for 3 hours in the middle of every shift. What other employer does this???

Since 2010 they've consistently reduced portion sizes. For example, the French toast was recently revamped. Previously, 3 full toast halves - Now, three toast halves that average only about 3 inches wide, so they're not really halves anymore, and the meal has 30 less calories (210) than the original (240). Where is the decreased caloric content compensated for on the menu? I now cook a full apple (sliced) with cinnamon to add bulk so I'm not starving by 10 am. You will not feel full unless you add your vegetable or fruit serving to your meal.

A lot of customers eat the frozen entrée and wonder why they're starving after two hours. There are several tricks and tips I learned over the years that I wish would be communicated more: example - spray a saucepan with nonstick oil (no calories) and sauté zucchini, or peppers, or mushrooms and fold them into your frozen entrée. The fiber and bulk keep me full until my next meal. Bottom line: It works, but you must pay and pay and pay while they cut, cut, cut the convenience and value to the customer.

I recently rejoined Jenny Craig after reading a publicity saying that I could rejoin for free and get $200.00 of food. I have had good results in the past so I thought it was a good idea. On my first appointment I let the person in charge know that I would prefer a vegetarian menu. I then realize the choice of food is very limited and I will have to repeat a lot of the food during the same week. I decided that in that case I would make a few changes to my menu. I am told only 3 changes are possible. Also I have to order absolutely everything that is in the weekly menu, snacks and desserts included if I want to get my discount, $17.00. The $200.00 are actually divided in several weeks. This was only disclosed after I had made my food order.

When I go back to my next appointment I realize the discount is only applied if I order the full menu, all snacks and desserts included. Since it is so expensive, I like to get my own snacks and desserts and save some money. I do not get the discount. Anyway, once home I find out I am given items I did not order. I call to complain and leave a message. Nobody returns my call. I had to call back the next day and I am told that being out of the items I ordered, I was given something else. This without consulting me. Jenny Craig has changed, portions are even smaller than they were, technicians, at least the one in charge of the center I go to, totally unprofessional. I am so disappointed.

I am a new client who enrolled in Rapid Results with my first shipment arriving Friday, April 20. I was told I could cancel the second shipment within three business days if the program was not suited for me. I did try the product and was not happy with the quality of the food, which I had no choice in selecting. Several of the packages were opened when they arrived (wrappers) and many of the items included items I don’t eat (pork, beef, onions, spices). The quality of the food was not what I expected as I am accustomed to eating fresh, healthy food and the meals were processed, frozen and resembled frozen TV dinners.

I have made every attempt to cancel the second shipment by calling customer service four times, corporate office twice, and emailing three times since Monday, April 23. The supervisor who finally called back today indicated I would be charged a $99.00 cancellation fee, which I was not made aware of. It is imperative that consumers are fully informed of contractual obligations when making important purchasing decisions. It should never be assumed that the consumer is fully aware of those guidelines. It is false advertising and notification. Had I realized this cost, I would not have enrolled in this program as the representative knew I was very hesitant to enroll as you have no clinics within an hour and 20 minutes of my work and home.

To date, not one person from their Corporate offices has contacted me to remedy this concern and cancel my membership. I have also filed a consumer complaint against Jenny Craig today after no resolution. I would advise anyone interested in this plan to steer clear of this company. They are slick at selling the product on the front end but it is the worst customer service I have experienced from a company in over ten years.

Corporate is no help whatsoever; refers back to the individual site you originally signed up at. Go off the diet and bam; weight comes back like a storm. So you really must stay on it for life. Can you afford that? Discounts (I had one via my job) are very difficult to get applied and not as much as what it was supposed to be per my job information. Overall; do it yourself with frozen meals and lots of vegetables. Weigh your self once a week.

I just started back on Jenny Craig as of today and I was reading the ingredients in the foods, most are not gut or IBS friendly at all which is probably why so many people seem to have digestive issues when eating this food. Ingredients like fructose and sugar alcohols are not healthy for anyone with or without IBS, also whey protein is a much better option than soy. I would love to see Jenny Craig come out with a low fodmap menu plan.

I tried Jenny Craig about a year ago. When I first signed up I was very motivated and loved it. My coach was great and I looked forward to seeing her. About a month in, she left the location. The coaches who were left were less than desirable. One girl constantly gave a nasty attitude. If I ever called to change the appointment it was a huge problem for her. When I had to see her because there wasn’t many workers in there her advice would be “could you work out this week?” “What can you do to do better this week?” Not sure how this counts as health advice.

When I ordered my foods she would say things like “wow that’s a lot of chocolate muffins!”. Was not happy with her so I purposely avoided making appointments with her. Found an older, more genuine female coach there. However an archaic way of thinking. One time my weigh in was at around 1 PM in the afternoon and she told me “try not to eat anything before!”. WHAT kind of advice is that??? To go all morning and eat nothing just so a number on the scale can be a little lower? I thought I was done then but I went back another time. I expressed to her how I was really overeating prepackaged microwaved meals. I told her I love cooking and it was really difficult for me to stick with this. Her answer? “It’s only temporary until you lose more weight. You just have to stick it out with the things you don’t like.” Okay I was done here.

How could I be constantly unhappy with the food I’m putting in my body? My last issue is they would not let me order and buy food without weighing in. Gave me grief whenever I asked for that. I’m sorry but aren’t I the one paying for this? That was my large problem with my particular coaching experience. HOWEVER anyone looking to lose weight or eat healthier I would not recommend this diet. I have tried everything, really. First of all I hate the microwave, it’s a cancer box. All your meals have to be microwave prepared. If you want to stick them in the oven you are waiting a long time for every small meal. The food is OK tasting. It gives you SUCH little wiggle room. With this kind of restrictions you’re better off just going on a diet yourself and eating Whole Foods while being restrictive.

The other downside is the price. You pay a monthly fee and your food costs about $200 for every week!!! I buy food for the house as well so this was not sustainable for me. I lost around 10 pounds on Jenny and quickly. However I would not do it again. The first month I was on it I was raving about it. That quickly changed. I am now on WW and having much more success in a much more SUPPORTIVE environment. Food options are greater and a healthier lifestyle is taught much better.

I have been a Jenny Craig client since 2007. I successfully lost 75 pounds on the program. Since my initial weight loss, have gone back periodically when I’m up 20 pounds, which happens every couple of years or so. My complaint is about Jenny Craig’s price increase to renew my program on an annual basis, and their process for renewals. I have to keep on top of my own renewal, there are no reminder noticed or a phone call to remind me that my program is up for renewal. In addition, the cost to renew is now $69! Quite an increase from $39, which I paid to renew the first several years. They should notify faithful clients about the increase in cost to renew at least 60 days prior to renewal. It’s just common courtesy!

I’m curious though, each time I’ve started the program, the same day I start, I have to void and have bowel movements right away, the first day! Now I know that at the beginning with any weight loss you lose water retention but it usually occurs within the first week not the same day you start. What is in the product that stimulates your kidneys and bowels so quickly? And is it safe?

There are a lot of negative comments about Jenny Craig here... Does the company really listen? I did Jenny Craig back in the early 2005. I did lose weight within 3 months and was very happy, until they changed something with the menus and I was eating more fruit and more vegetables to volumize. But the calories ended up being a lot more and I stopped losing weight. I was not happy with their new system. Now I want to go back and I was told, by phone that they'd give me a discount on the food for returning. When I called the clinic, itself the consultant didn't know what I was talking about. It cost over 700 dollars a month to be on Jenny Craig; isn't this a bit extreme???

People; look up on the computer how many calories you should eat per day to lose 1 or 2 pounds a week. It's not rocket science; keep your money in your own pocket. I regained my weight after returning to my own foods; Jenny Craig does not help you to keep off your weight. It doesn't teach you anything. I can't believe you can't even substitute your meals, or say no to their deserts. I was told you have to eat what's on the menu but what if you're diabetic and can't eat their desserts... Something very wrong, very unhealthy with this program. I will not join again... I will keep my money in my own pocket and not Jenny Craig's.

Rejoined Jenny Craig in mid-late Jan. 2018 after moderate success in 2010. Had to quit in 2010 due to job loss. Fast forward to 2018 -- rejoined because of mobility issues. I realized that it took a long time for me to put on the weight and it would take a long time to get rid of it. I started "Rapid Results." I've since discovered that the consultant did not explain it to me correctly. Once I understood it, I found it too prescriptive and asked to be put on a different plan. Just finished my sixth "meeting" with my consultant, who once again hurried me through the meeting because she told me that she had a new client to meet with after me.

I've lost four pounds so far. I also know from previous diets that I lose weight extremely slowly and I take various medications that could affect my metabolism. But, before I went today, I weighed myself at home and was surprised to see that I had "lost" four pounds. When I was weighed at the center, their scale registered a .4 pound loss. I told my consultant about the difference. I asked her if their digital scale needs to be reset. She said that it doesn't. I also discovered at this meeting that last week's consultant had given me the wrong meal plan.

When I was on Jenny Craig in 2010, the meal plans enabled you to pick and choose what you wanted to purchase and the consultants offered you guidance and encouragement. The current Jenny Craig program doesn't allow for any deviation from the plan. Additionally, the consultants don't tell you there are different Jenny plans that you can participate in. Finally, you don't know how much their food items cost. My weekly Jenny bill is about $150 plus fruits, vegetables and yogurt. I've decided not to go back based on my experiences with this Jenny center, although I have a lifetime membership that I bought in 2010.

However the consultants do not tell me anything I don’t already know. Listening to them tell me the same thing over and over is enough to put me to sleep. I can also tell they want to make sure they get that expensive food order in. Of course the more food you buy the more money they make. I have gone to the Jenny Craig Center and over the phone. Over the phone is a joke. Really? They are only happy if you have lost weight and stuck to the program... so all you have to do is tell them what they want to hear. Yes, if you stick to the program, like any diet, you can lose weight. The food's not bad, however the weekly meetings are horrifying. If they change their policy and decide to let me buy the food without having listening to one of their consultants every week. I will be happy to place many orders.

All these people whining about the food quality and size are not really committed to losing weight. If you follow what they tell you to do and eat the food that you're supposed to eat there's no way you won't lose weight. Yes, the food is more expensive than McDonald's but then again you are getting balanced meals, low calories and control fat and carbs. I dislike more of the food than I like. I have had vomiting issues with certain foods (Chinese) and I find all of their products inconsistent. So one week I may like what's on my menu and the next week the product sucks (too much pepper or spices, veggies too much of something and none of something else). Their chocolate is crap and I've refused anything chocolate because it's a waste of calories.

I paid for a lifetime membership but I've come to the conclusion what I'm paying and what I'm getting isn't worth it. I like my consultant but really feel I'm nothing more than a number and commission. So as of today I'm doing my last week of the food and not going back. I've been a member for years and over time have unfortunately become dissatisfied with JC. They keep throwing out tools that work (like forms that used to fold nicely and had room to write) and discontinuing popular foods in favor of (in my opinion) cheaper ingredient items. The last straw was losing the veggie sausage with pancakes. They keep tossing out vegetarian options. If you're on a restricted diet like me, you're going to spend your money at the store when you can't buy what you want at the center. So I buy vegetarian sausage patties and a box of mini pancakes at the store instead. Like MANY others, I don't like that they don't give you a receipt showing line item pricing. That's right, you get a receipt showing the total you spent that day but not one showing what each individual item cost. Why? Why not be honest like every other organization? Could it be because they don't want you to know what you're really spending???

That said, I did lose weight with them... I've also gained it all back. And that's the problem: almost every center sees the same people year after year. I think it's because (again) the tools for aftercare just aren't there. When you reach goal, you can visit the ghost town forums online or order their old recipe books on eBay (I haven't seen any new ones) but otherwise, you're on your own. It's almost like they want you to gain weight and return. Perhaps because it costs more to get a new customer than a returning one? I just don't like going in anymore or scheduling appointments. I have felt pressure to buy and have even found--more than once--pricey items I didn't ask for magically appearing in my cart that I've rejected at the point of sale.

My guess is that the consultants are pressured to call their accounts to get to some kind of quota. The value of the consultant is a double edged sword: great for keeping you honest but they will also call you to book additional appointments (read: sales) lined up. And forget calling the "help" center. They were unhelpful, pushing everything back to the field office instead of listening.

If you want to lose weight and are willing to be creative, you can use JC as a starting point, adding things like supplements or reading weight loss articles online and books, joining an online community of others dedicated to losing weight through exercise and diet, and realize that no one "diet" can be the answer. There are some good items they offer and the entrees will teach you about portion control. Many staff members are some of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. But if you're not getting what you need from JC, you can find what you need elsewhere, probably for a bit less money and hassle, once you take ownership of your weight loss.

I joined JC in 2001 with my mom. Initially the experience was good but went downhill. I purchased a lifetime subscription because I felt it would give me more bang for my buck. The food was good and I was able to fill in gaps with store purchased foods. I lost 30 pounds and was quite happy with the result and recommended it to my friends. Over time the weight creeped up and I was back to Jenny. The second time the results were as good as the first (even though I followed it to the letter). Fast forward to 2007 and I tried another diet that worked, but as with other diets the weight came back. I eventually ended up having gastric bypass surgery and lost over 120 pounds, that wasn't without serious complications.

I eventually moved and went to the local JC center so I could use the food as maintenance. I was told I would have to rejoin (what the heck happened to my lifetime membership? Your guess is as good as mine). They could not locate the membership information and the center I joined at is closed. Even on the diabetic diet option, I had the worst blood sugar crash of my life, I was very ill at work, sweated through all my clothes and was very hot and shaky. Thank goodness I work in a hospital so help was there. When I asked for a refund of the $200 I paid for a year membership (you get 3 months free), the woman hemmed and hawed and finally said "no refunds after 3 days." I did find it in the small print. I was calling only 6 days from starting. I advise others to avoid this company, once they get your money they will find an excuse to keep it. 3 days is not long enough to find out if it's going to work for you. And read the small print, they have lots of disclaimers.

Joined in 2009 with lifetime membership. Had a pleasant experience with decent counselors and halfway decent food. Lost a bunch of weight. Went back this May to try to lose the weight I'd gained back, not as much as I'd lost in the first place! I felt like I was rushed in and out. The "counselor" did not ask me about myself, I didn't know whether she has used JC until I asked. There have been changes since I first joined, she did not address them until I asked. Then she told me the company had been bought out by one of the food giants and the food was more expensive, and not as good. After I paid I was almost pushed out the door. She remembered as an afterthought to give me the Getting Started book. I asked where were the CD's and everything that I had gotten before and she said the new company didn't care about that. Not an auspicious start.

She was not wrong about the food. I was shocked at the prices and not really happy when I discovered I had not been given everything I paid for. The food was awful. Pasta was gummy, rice mushy, too much or not enough seasoning. The meals I enjoyed were no longer on the menu, and I was hopeful some of my choices might be as good, but most of what I tried I didn't finish. My dogs turned their noses up at the Beef Merlot. I didn't go back the following week and did not receive any kind of follow-up call. I called customer service, and the phone rep was nice but the policy apparently is, "Too bad, we got your money, so what if we don't deliver as promised". Can't even describe how ripped off I feel. Don't know if it is true that a big company bought out JC. I would never have gone back if I had known it was this bad.

The counselor appointed to me basically read off what plans they offer and proceeded to take a food order for the week which amounted to over $100. I received no explanation of the plan and the food is not the healthiest (high in sodium) or very satisfying. Hi. I joined JC in 2001 in their lose 10 kgs for $10 programme (at 75 kgs and 5 ft 6 they had told me I was considered obese). I lost about 8kgs without exercise and then stuck. By then I had found the food too expensive so I just chose my own maintenance programme. The consultant was ok but once when I "fell off the wagon" coz my partner was eating KFC before we went for groceries and I was starving [a.k.a mantra "never go shopping on an empty stomach" ;)] and I had the tiniest piece and fessed up - she went completely overboard about it. I needed encouragement to stay on track - not to be berated like a child!

So now I've put on 10 kgs in the last year and I've just decided to follow their idea but DIY rather then rejoin. I would suggest that you look at your plans and then just make up your own grocery list - will take a while the first time while you check fat/sugars/kgs but save it in your phone and/or online shopping and then it's easy next time.

In reality all I have to do is: cut out carbs (my 1200 cal plan only had a measly 5 oven baked wedges and one english muffin and 1/2 portion of noodles allowed in a week). Manage portion control (main meal by protein the size of the palm of your hand and bulk out the plate with vegs/salad). Limit sweets/alcohol to one small portion a day. No fried food (unless pan fried in own juices or small amount of olive oil). Have six small regular meals which manages my metabolism (breakfast, 10am snack - fruit, yoghurt or nuts light lunch, 3pm snack, evening meal and early evening snack or dessert or small wine). Don't eat/drink after 8pm.

I also saw a programme on Dr Oz today that recommended having a glass of orange juice in the morning and then light exercise for 30 mins in the morning which keeps your metabolism up all day. So as a single mom I'm going to start on the exercycle each day. And my son bought me a Nutri Ninja for Xmas so smoothies with Complan as a meal replacement at lunch-time every other day is my plan. I think the JC consultants are more prepped in sales than motivation and nutrition so I'm sure I can do it just as well on my own!

How are we supposed to keep track of what we are eating? I'm disappointed in the overall lack of support after you reach your weight loss goal. I don't want to have to buy J.C food forever!!

I've done the Jenny program a couple of times now and was able to lose the weight I wanted. I find the food to be fine, not all of it, but there's enough to keep me happy. The reason for the lower rating is that my most recent experience resulted in some, what I consider to be, unauthorized charges to my credit card. I told them when I signed up in June that I just wanted to be on the program until I lost the weight. Apparently they had me sign something authorizing them to keep charging my account even after I let them know I considered myself done with the program... a form I don't even have a copy of.

After seeing the charges on my credit card statement, I called to have the charges reversed and was told that the location manager would get back to me the same day but I haven't heard back. I was told that I would have had to give them notice in writing, yet when I called they were able to cancel my membership on the phone. I'm so disappointed with these underhanded tactics. They've now lost a returning client for a couple of $20 charges.

When a restaurant cheaps out and changes suppliers they usually go under, and I think JC is heading that way. My current consultant bashes the company all the time and when she goes on Maternity later this year she is never going back, but she tells me she cares and I have to get my ** together. What a hypocrite. I went back in April 2015 to lose my last 20 lbs. I went off of Jenny for a year prior to have a break. I lost 7 lbs my first two weeks but then I got sick of the food. I am on Jenny this week but have made up my mind I am not wasting any more money on this lousy program. You really are just a number they don't care, the longer you are there the better for them, but if your weight loss slows down it looks bad for them.

I see more bad reviews here than good. Kirstie Alley lost and gained it all back, and we never see or hear about Valerie Bertinelli any more wonder if she gained it all back too. Stop wasting your money people looking for a quick fix, you can do it on your own without going bankrupt. I did, it just takes a lot of discipline and really wanting to do it for you. Jenny is not a lifestyle change, the food is processed and unhealthy and I now suffer from joint pain, which could be a result. Good luck to all of you who are battling the bulge, but Jenny is not the answer. I feel sick when I think of the money I have wasted, could have put my daughter through university. Sad but true.

The consultants at my location are excellent and knowledgeable and willing to modify the plan to meet my needs. They are definitely about ME as an individual and not just about sales. I am now halfway to my goal and transitioning back to my own food. I recently "took back breakfast" and told them I would like to make my own dinners on weekends. They were totally fine with it! We will see how I do. I am absolutely committed to keep the weight off... and, losing even more.

JC has really helped me with portion size -- mine was way out of whack! I also realize now the importance of adding fresh fruits and veggies to my diet daily. And hey! I'm doing Yoga now and riding a bike again. Love it! JC is not cheap, but not incredibly expensive either. I did get a discount through my employer, which helps. I figured I am spending a net of $200 per month more on food by using JC. It will be less than that now since I am starting to fix some of my own meals. So sorry to see that not everyone's experience with JC has been as good as mine. My advice: FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS FOR YOU AND STICK WITH IT. Do what you have to do to get healthy!

I felt as though I had to write a review after seeing the program get bashed! This diet is easy to follow, the food tastes good, and it is satisfying. I don't know if anybody who wrote these reviews tried their primary competitor's foods, but it is inedible! The only thing about this program is that it is VERY expensive. I really can't afford to be on the program at this time, but felt as though the health and self-esteem benefits from it would be well worth the struggle of coming up with the money.

I put on about 70 pounds since I started getting migraines about three years ago. I had all but given up hope on getting back to my healthy weight. Then I decided to join Jenny Craig again because I KNEW it worked for me. The only thing that I do NOT like about it is my weekly consultations (I am an independent thinker and need neither advice nor encouragement). I also pay $30 every three weeks to have my food shipped to me because I will NOT utilize the center near where I live.

I was actually a consultant for JC five or so years ago (and this is NOT biased -- I am paying full price for the product and left the company on bad terms). I ended up walking out because the women in the center were catty. They also did not practice what they preached. The other two consultants were obese women who ate very poorly, and the manager was anorexic and made nasty remarks about the clients when they didn't lose weight. I'm not trying to scare anyone off, this may just be one center.

The consultant I speak to over the phone is very nice (and she has no idea how well I know the program or that I was once a consultant). I also cared very much for my clients' success when I worked there, and saw a lot of people succeed (one of whom is my son's pediatrician, and a few others that I keep in contact with!). Even with the horrible experience I had with a few nasty women when I worked for this company, I have a lot of good things to say about the program. So if you can afford it, give it a shot.

Don't make any impulsive decisions -- look all over online for the best deals because you can save yourself a lot in program fees (the food cost is astronomical as it is without those extra fees on top of them). And remember -- there will always be some sort of sacrifice or major change in your eating choices and habits on ANY diet that you try. You are going to be able to eat some tasty foods, but you are not going to be able to go out binge drinking or eating every weekend. You are not going to be able to pick at foods that are not on the approved list. This will be the easiest diet you ever tried, but it will still involve effort. I wish everyone luck!

I lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks but you have to count calories (and exercise) if you want the steady weight loss they advertise but don't guarantee. They want you to follow the menu exactly and to leave the calorie counting to them, but if you do, you may find that you are consuming a lot more calories than you think. I counted calories for their 1200 calorie personalized menu, and even with their lowest calorie options, my calorie count was over 1300. Now I ignore the menu (and lie to my consultant!) and count calories. You will lose weight if you follow their menu too, just be prepared for a slower weight loss, which is what they want. It's a business. The longer you are on their program, the more products you buy and the more money they make. For me, it's money well spent. If you are disciplined enough to just count calories (which I am not), you could achieve the same results on your own.

I first joined JC in 1995, after the birth of my son - and it really worked, as long as I ate their food. Then in Dec of '95 I got pregnant with our daughter and went off of JC. Fast forward to July 2009 when my doctor told me my BMI categorized me as "obese" (I am 5'2 and weighed 166 lbs. and in all honesty, I cannot weigh less than 140 or I look skeletal. No kidding, I really DO weigh more than I appear to). Anyway, I wanted to lose 20 lbs so I went back to JC. They had no record of my prior membership, so I had to pay again. This was all during a time when I could afford it, so no big deal.

So, I went on their program and I have to say it was easy to follow and the food was really delicious and satisfying and the weight came off. By Dec. 2009 I had lost a total of 17 lbs and looked great. But then my husband lost his job and I could not afford the food anymore, which was averaging $135.00 per week, not including my groceries. I asked my consultant if I could go on a type of maintenance program as I could not afford all of the food, and she said that as I had not lost my goal of 20 lbs and kept it off for 3 months, she could not change my program.

I had to stop the program and of course, by Sept 2010 all of the weight came back, including an extra pound. This year I decided to watch my caloric intake with an app on my phone, and to begin exercising by taking long walks on the weekends. I have only lost two pounds, and my old behavior wants quick results so I was thinking of joining JC again. But I did my research, and decided to take it slowly, healthy and economically. I guess in a nutshell, Jenny Craig will work if you can afford to stay on it indefinitely.

I didn't meet my goal, but did take off enough weight to look good for the wedding. I didn't go back to Jenny until 2009, when two kids and a stressful job that paid nothing had me gain 25 lbs. I had to pay $50 per year to come back under my plan, but no monthly fee. I didn't think this was right, but I paid them. I was less successful with the plan but was slowly chipping away at the weight. My consultant was good at understanding when I couldn't afford to buy much food. The "cashier" though constantly complained about the food discount I got with the lifetime membership. Often said she couldn't put it in because the system made it impossible. Fortunately, my consultant knew how to game their system and make it work.

During this time, fool that I was, I did buy some of their gadgets and books that they constantly hawk, which did absolutely nothing for me. Money got tighter at home and I had to take a break from the plan. I was called a few months later and a message was left that Jenny "had determined that my lifetime membership was up, but they would love to have me come back and take advantage of their latest offer." Really? I had just turned 50 and Jenny determined that my "lifetime was over". Isn't that motivational? As they continued to call and email to have me come back. I vowed to let everyone I could tell that they were a bunch of crooks. I have since gained 30 more pounds.

Having done the JC program and losing a significant amount of weight, I decided to work for them. It was not what I expected at all. It's all about numbers. I had the good moments of getting clients to their goal weight and that made the job worthwhile. But working in a commission-based environment became annoying. Consultants are paid based on food sales. If a client doesn't buy a full week of food, you get in trouble with the manager and they want to know WHY they didn't buy a full week. Every consultant has a food quota they have to meet. It becomes competitive with fellow coworkers and some coworkers even try stealing your clients to get the commission.

They are all about memorizing dialogues. There is a "lead call dialogue" when someone calls to inquire about the program. There's "reschedule call dialogue" when a client tries cancelling or rescheduling their appointment. Then there is the "leftover food dialogue" when clients have leftovers at home and don't want to buy anymore food. You were also expected to call clients DAILY who hadn't been in the centre to get them booked in. I felt like a telemarketer most days. I had a client whose mother passed away and wasn't going to be able to come in for an appointment for over a week and I was told to call her daily. You had to work two evenings a week and Saturday. You could finish your shift at 9:00 pm one night and have to be back to work at 8:00 am the next day. Consultants are not nutritionists, they are there simply to sell the food. They have an extremely high turnover rate because they are absolutely terrible to work for.

Overall experience lost 6 pounds in 2 months. Spend almost $2000 and my coach never gave me the 2 books I was suppose to read. One week I lost 2-3 pounds, the other gain 6 pounds and so on. I ask about it and my coach cannot explained this yo-yo effect and kept saying That maybe I was cheating. I THINK it was high sodium food. I Learn something - LOOK for a health professional, a dietitian and stop wasting money on something that isn't natural. Losing weight doesn't have to be so expensive.

Many years ago I paid over $400.00 to Join Jenny Craig. It was marketed as a Lifetime membership. I didn't use the program much until 2009. The center I went to signed me up for a $49.00 activation fee. I used the program faithfully and did relatively well on it (didn't quite meet my goal). At that point, after three years, I decided to take a break. However, within six months I returned to Jenny only to find that my "Lifetime" membership never was a Lifetime membership and I was expected to pay the activation fee plus $20.00 a month. I fussed about it and was told the store manager would check into the matter. In fact, she called and left a message on my phone telling me she checked and that my original program had expired and she couldn't do anything about it. However, when I returned to visit with my consultant, she unknowingly let it slip that the manager had told her that I would have to accept the new plan. She had not checked into the reason.

Why after nine years can one person make it work while another manager can't/won't. If you go on to the Jenny website, you will never clearly see what the fees are. They need to be more upfront about the costs of the programs and how they work. Still can't figure out why my initial $400 + never accounted for much. This particular store has seen a big decline in the number of people who go there and there is a big turnover of the help. It isn't all because of the economy. You'd think the company would want to find out what is going on there.

I joined Jenny Craig at the very end of August, 2012. My goal was to lose about 40 lbs. I had no trouble losing the weight and by March of 2013 I had reached my goal. I didn't mind the food at all. Some was better than others but I hate to cook so this worked out fine for me.

When I signed up, I was told that when I reached my goal and stayed within 10 lbs of that goal (5 lbs below/5 lbs above) that I would receive a refund of half of what I paid at the end of my year. Around the end of April I called to see when I could expect my refund only to be told my contact at JC had never put down when I reached my goal or that I was on maintenance.

Long story short, It is now the end of July and I still have not received my measly 214.00. Every time I call there is an issue of some sort. They lost my papers and they had to be resent etc. and so on. I am so sick of trying to get this money back. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth so will not recommend them to anyone.

I am a former employee and a member of Jenny Craig. I can personally say the plan never worked for me when I needed to lose weight. I have found many other far less expensive methods that work and work better. The food is HIGHLY processed and probably not the healthiest food. I did not feel good about consuming it. As a former employee I can tell you that (Nestle) Jenny Craig is not so much concerned about the members weight loss as they are about the continued purchase of their food items. Yes they are pleased when the occasional member has a success story.

But my experience was that I was compensated on whether or not the client purchased their food. This was accomplished by many deceitful tactics and underhanded sales techniques. There is a trickle down effect that occurs at Jenny Craig. Nestle the corporation that owns Jenny Craig has had numerous lawsuits filed against them because of violations to labor laws. Working employees on lunch breaks without compensation and not paying overtime. Again, I can personally attest to the lengths Jenny Craig will go to to offer substandard medical coverage and minimum wage compensation.

The result are "weight loss consultants" who have NO knowledge of health and weight loss. In my office alone 4 out of the 5 consultants were over weight. One was borderline obese. It's hard to believe that Jenny Craig would employ people that have no background in weight loss and who obviously cannot even take care of their own health and weight and expect them to help another. All I can say is this is not a weight loss company that I would recommend nor is it an employer I would recommend.

Make sure you have a good fit with your counselor - that helps a lot. I had one dud but switched and have a great one now. The food is pricey but if you can afford it I'd say it's worth it.

I'm a 60-year-old woman with knee issues, consequently an inability to exercise regularly. Already overweight, I gained about 15 extra pounds after my knee injury. To try to get out of that vicious cycle, I decided to try Jenny Craig. I followed the plan 5 days a week, and 2 days I ate my own food. This was a HUGE drop in calories for me, and yet I was barely losing any weight. Each week I'd go in for my weigh-in and instead of losing a pound or pound and a half, I'd only lost a few ounces.

My counselor (a very nice gal, but had trouble thinking outside the box) kept asking me if I was salting my food, as if that had something to do with my lack of weight loss. I told her I was only salting my salad and veggies, and that it actually seemed to me that the JC food had a lot of sodium in it for something that was supposed to be all about healthy weight loss. It didn't even occur to me that my water retention was due to their food. I started really looking at the ingredients in the food and was appalled at the amount of sodium, HFCS, and cheesy pasta dishes that had almost no quality protein in them. In the 9 weeks I was on the program I only lost about 7 pounds. Ridiculous.

Then I had a revelation: While still on the program, I had to have dental surgery, which meant eating only soft foods for about a week. In that week to 10 days, I didn't eat any Jenny Craig food, but still kept an eye on my calories and portion sizes. But I was eating pudding, soup, rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, ground beef: in other words, foods that were full calorie foods. In that 10 days I lost nearly 5 pounds. Not only that, I suddenly stopped retaining water and was urinating normally again.

I went in for my counseling session and weigh-in. My counselor was thrilled with all the weight I'd lost until I told her that it had nothing to do with jenny Craig. Because I'd lost a little weight with JC, I told her I'd keep on with it, but would only come in every 2 weeks for my consultation/weigh-in. But after a week I simply decided it wasn't worth all the money. I was paying for bad food and very little weight loss.

Since I quit, my weight loss has continued and I've now lost a total of 15 pounds, but I'm doing it by eating smaller portions, not denying myself anything I want, and trying to keep within that same calorie range of about 1400-1500 a day. The only good that came from going to Jenny Craig is it showed me that I can lose weight if I try. But once you know the basics of their plan, you can easily do it on your own without all the expense and terrible ingredients.

I asked for the $80 off coupon and they would not let me use this. I can't walk, I'm on medication, I can't stand on my foot to weigh myself. I could only get $80 off if I had a 10-minute consultation with them every week. I had to keep explaining to them I had surgery. They do not provide service that is tailor made to help a person with a surgery. Yet on the advertisement they say they work with serious health conditions... I called to complain the first time, didn't get a call back. Called again, got a call back with the same runaround from Tanya in MN. Then called the online number, was put on hold for 23 min and my call was dropped. Called back to file a complaint with the regional director. Haven't heard back yet. Seriously, how hard is it to read a calendar with a menu on it and fill my order correctly? How hard is it to understand someone has had a surgery? Rude, uncaring, unproductive waste of my time.

I joined Jenny Craig out of desperation. I desperately need motivation, help with eating the right foods and an easy to follow diet, the allowed variety and good tasting meals. At the time I knew the food was expensive, but it was more so than I thought. Still the "personal coach that would take responsibility for my weight loss..." I bought the one-year platinum plan. My first coach was the manager. She was a closer, knew how to motivate and sell food. My second coach was a college student that only cared about her boyfriend and selling more food. Commission? My third coach was the best one. She was close to my age, had gone through many things that middle aged and beyond women endure... child birth, depression, illness, medications, life.

Times in our area were tough and they worked her to death. She was the only one left and she was seeing everyone. She got burned out and left after a few months. The fourth and last one (in a year) was another college-aged student, about a size 2 with no children and not a lot of compassion, very little motivation skills. Again, it was all about the food. "You have to eat our food, eat it with our other food or it doesn't work." I joined last May, stuck it out until April when I had to leave town for 5 weeks to help with an ailing family member.

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. I had a hip replacement. I am no longer able to work and on a fixed income. I am on medications that one of the big side effects is weight gain. Since the food is so very expensive, and I didn't get the promised support, nor did I meet my target weight, I won't be going back. I am just so disappointed and disgusted. So the moral of my story is don't believe Kirstie Alley. Don't believe the hype. Save your money. Go to WW or another program. Jenny Craig is a rip off.

I belonged to Jenny for about 6 weeks or so. I suffered from sticker shock at the price, but thought "Oh well... at least I'll have personal coaching." Well, the meals are expensive and they become boring. A lot of meals are tomato-based, which is okay, but gets boring. I had 2 coaches. The first one talked about her wedding plans a lot, and the 2nd coach was very young and did not seem to know how to help motivate people. My biggest problem was motivation. Doesn't everyone have that problem in trying to reach a goal? I tried WW and was successful, except the meetings are boring. With JC, I thought the real difference would be in the coaching. But I gave up because I wanted to eat everyday food again and wasn't getting the help from my coach. Plus the amount of money I paid every week for food was about $100... It just became too expensive for something that wasn't working.

I joined the Jenny Craig weight loss program on March 9. The staff at the West Chester PA office is friendly, helpful and courteous. Their food is very good - I had been on the program about 5-6 years ago. At the time, I recall that I had "gas," as did a friend of mine who joined with me, after I began eating the food, but it was not extreme so I didn't mind. I didn't stay on the program very long and had no complaints about it.

This time, the "gas" began the first week, but it was not an issue for me. Into the second week, bloating, severe gas pains and extreme and embarrassing gas began and continued for three days until I decided I could not continue with this situation. I actually thought I might have pancreatitis, ovarian cancer or some serious condition, and had I not recalled the connection with the gas to Jenny Craig food, I probably would have gone to my doctor. Suspecting the connection, I Googled "Jenny Craig food digestive issues" and up came a blog that described the same symptoms that I had (I have since been unable to find that site). One symptom mentioned several times was loose bloody stools, which I had not experienced YET. The next morning the blood appeared. I had already decided the night before not to continue the food. Unfortunately due to the gastric pain, which has continued now for two days after stopping the food, I lost a day at work. I also had to discontinue my fitness program - this, because of pain and fear that I may do more damage to my intestinal tract - REALLY!!! - bleeding because of a prepared food plan!!!!

I called my Jenny Craig counselor on the day I stayed home from work and, to her credit, she admitted that some clients experience stomach issues early in the program because they are not used to all the fiber in the diet. She said many people have problems because of the "Anytime Bars," which are taken whenever a client is hungry during the day. Lindsey was courteous and professional and offered to work with me, continuing on the plan and working in other foods along with Jenny Craig foods. With what I am going through, there is no way I will eat another morsel of their food. I asked if I could be reimbursed for an unopened box of Anytime Bars @$10.99 a box, and was told no. I am not surprised that they are unable to accept returned food products, but I thought some financial consideration could have been offered since I had paid $159 for a week's supply of food and only consumed 2 1/2 days worth - in addition to the prior weeks food @ $137.

What I don't understand is why the warning for the possibility of gastric problems is not mentioned to new clients so they may be aware before they start bleeding. The only red flag that I noted in completing my client profile was for celiac disease because their products contain gluten (I do not have celiac disease). If the possibility exists for some clients to experience digestive disorders, why don't they ease people into the program and/or prohibit Anytime Bars until they know clients can tolerate their foods. There needs to be a warning attached to their products.

I first joined Jenny when I was a junior in high school. In 3 months I lost 25 pounds. On paper, I was still overweight but I had gone from a size 16 to a size 8. My doctor even said I was at an ideal weight due to my body makeup. But my counselor at Jenny insisted I was still 10 pounds overweight when looking at the national BMI chart. Even with my doctor's word the counselor's insisted I stay on program. I was on a "Teen Program" at the time and the deal was I would get half my money back if I hit goal. I wasn't sure at the time of signing up how it would work so I agreed with the BMI chart and made that my goal. But after trying for a month to lose those last 10 pounds, my parents and I decided enough was enough. We thought I had learned enough to do it on my own. But being a teenager and all that wasn't the case. Of course they never did give us half the money back because I didn't reach goal and wouldn't let me change it.

So my freshman year of college I tried again and failed. I paid for a year and only lasted 3 months. This was the routine one more time. Then I decided to try again before I turned 30. I wanted to make this work and because I was older, my metabolism had slowed down. I was on program for 4 months and my counselor told me she was disappointed in my 20-pound loss. I had been really excited until she said that. I couldn't believe she said that to me. What a way to motivate! I stopped trying after that and eventually quit. I actually let her disappointment get into my head. Someone on this board said that those who are trying to lose weight are fragile and I was at that time. I had so much going on around me at that time and allowed her disappointment to dictate my life.

The final time I tried Jenny I did it with my father. I knew I was in it for the long haul while he did the 20 pounds for 10 weeks programs. He did fabulous of course. But I was struggling. This time it was personal though. My counselor this time around was great. She actually tried to figure out my slow metabolism. She actually did some investigating with my journals and told me to try different combinations. We figured out that I'm carb sensitive. I was really impressed with her and then she quit. I was so sad, she was the best counselor I had. But she told me she was quitting and she wanted me to know because she said she knew the other employees would make some lame excuse why she was there. Yet, with the new knowledge she gave me I tried to work with the new counselor they gave me. But she didn't understand my metabolism issue and started putting me down about the 10 pounds I had lost.

That was the last time. I know it works but I wish the company would work on their customer service. When someone is losing weight, any negative comment is damaging and the counselors don't understand that. Seems to me, they only care about the dollar (Oh don't even get me started on how much debt I've acquired).

This occurred after we had spent a few thousand dollars with Jenny. Long story short the Center Director admitted she had overcharged us significantly (10%) and most recently for a few weeks credited us with a total of $100 but unfortunately that was not anywhere near the total overage. Today 9/19 2013 when we went in they told us they were through giving us credits and that was the final word from both of her Marketing Directors. So in summary they admitted to the overage but have decided that they will not cover it in future food purchases. With this type of customer treatment I expect Jenny to be in serious trouble soon. Seniors beware of the Keller, Texas Jenny Craig Store. Sounds like Jenny needs a senior class action suit to wake it up as well as a training session for all of its consultants on treating seniors fairly.

I had first joined JC in Jan. 2003. I was a good consultant and on the program myself. I loved to see the client succeed and supported their efforts to lose weight and be fit. 2005...December, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I felt that I needed to let the center director know. When I let her know in confidence of this serious health issue... She blabbed about it at our next staff meeting. Well, needless, to say, I did not appreciate her breaking the confidence I had in her to go to her with any further information. My client's began asking me, after I returned back to work, following my lumpectomy and radiation, "How are you feeling?" I said, "Fine and you..." They expressed their compassion for what I had been going through.

When I asked them what they meant.. they said the breast cancer. I was embarrassed. I told my clients that their appointment is not about me it is about them... and we moved on. The other consultants constantly told the customers and clients that I had breast cancer. I DID NOT WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW that was my personal issue no one else's. I was a private type of person but unfortunately shared my private health issue with the center director. It was around Feb./Mar of the following year 2006.. the director came into my office shut the door and began screaming at me that she was trying to run a business and wanted me to either quit or take a leave of absence right away. I told her that no one would have known of the breast cancer if she had not taken it upon herself to tell the staff and the tell the clients.

I told her, "You can't see breast cancer so what is the problem here?" She said I was always late... not concentrating on my job and that this is not the place I should be working with breast cancer! She wrote me up.... said sign this. I did... I signed my name and in doing so also put... signed under duress. I had copy of my time stamp in and out. I was very punctual and even there earlier than scheduled. I took the documentation and filled an EEOC on the company. The only thing I got from them was a lousy... $500. For my last week there oh and they insisted I tell no one about their discrimination against me for having being diagnosed with breast cancer! Like I had planned it! Today I have a better job because the Lord watched over me.. and I see and have heard that some of their centers have closed... KARMA WORKS IN DIFFERENT WAYS! Looks good on them but I feel for the clients. Don't be diagnosed with any form of cancer when you are employed with them. Thank you for listening to me rant.

That is what was explained to me only to find out months later when I explained to my Jenny Craig representative in San Leandro, CA that for the Summer months I was on the go all the time and I did not have access to a microwave so I needed to drop out of the program for three to four months. At that time I was informed by the manager of that store that the only way that one time $99.00 remained one time is if you never and I mean never stop paying the $19.00 membership fee.

Now I will admit that the Jenny Craig plan works, but when you sign up they are very helpful until you start cutting back on the Jenny Craig meals and start purchasing the equivalent but cheaper product at the grocery store and still losing weight. My weekly Jenny Craig food bill started at approx. $125.00 per week and after about five months had dropped to approx. $40.00. I was drilled with questions on how did I know it was the equivalent. IT'S ON THE LABEL.

It took four emails to the BBB and four phone calls from a Jenny Craig representative Who promised me the fourth call the $99.00 one time initiation fee would be returned to me immediately, I waited over a week and no money, I had to write a letter to the BBB in San Diego, CA, and they contacted Jenny Craig and shortly after I received a check for $99.00. This is to inform the public that those of us that can't lose weight without help be cautious we are vulnerable and all those who seem to be friendly and are there to help you may be more concerned in their corporate earnings.

I have lost 8.2kgs on the JC programme and overall I'm happy with progress. However Jenny Craig is without a doubt a rip off. They will screw you for every possible cent if you let them. Last week I was given two incorrect meals because my consult got confused between Beef Lasagne and Beef Hot Pot. They tried to make ME pay to replace it. It was not my mistake. The other thing that is annoying is that soon I will be doing 2 days a week of my own meals, but I will still have to pay the same amount. I don't understand this. I pay $149 a week currently for 7 days worth of food. I will still pay $149 for 5 days. They say it's because I am already on a reduced rate. I'm on a reduced rate because I signed up for 5 year at considerable cost. At one point I had a number of leftover meals in my freezer (about $50 worth). I was not allowed to reduce my payment for that week and take less food with me.

My advice, don't sign up for direct debit, pay when you visit each week, if you can do it that way. I like my consultant. I really really liked my first consultant. It was disruptive to adjust to someone new. But, JC does work, I do like the food, it is easy.... Eat this and this and this and you WILL lose weight. But it is driven by profit and it shows unfortunately.

I worked for the Jenny Craig company for 2 years now and just found out yesterday that the center that I'm working at will be closing in 2 weeks! The Jenny Craig company wants to try out the Jenny Online and the Jenny @ home approach which will be operated in California. This is a good example of how the Jenny Craig brand really doesn't care about their employees. We worked really hard to keep the clients coming in every week and to get screwed out of a job without warning is a very poor action on the corporate office. A lot of the clients love to come in and talk to their consultant face to face, and not to have the option anymore really shows that the company is really about making money instead of the client's needs! Sad.

I spend 480 dollars for a month, but decided it was not working well for me, so I called them and told them not send the second week of food, expecting to receive at least half of my food money back minus the signup fee of $49. However they came up with some lie that I paid them for shipment upfront. Therefore, I could not be reimbursed, which was only an excuse to steal more money from me. To make matters worse, after waiting two weeks for my refund of only $150, I finally got in touch with manager, Tamara **, who refused to allow me to speak with her supervisor telling me she was over all in charge, as if she owns Jenny Craig and denying me the right to go any further to complain about the loss of my money. As of now, I still do not have my refund.

I recently signed up with the Jenny Craig at home program. I had been looking for a home delivery program for meals and heard that theirs had a large selection to choose from. The person I spoke to on the phone when I was signing up was very nice and friendly. That's how they lure you in. She was so nice, in fact, that I got caught up in conversation with her and by the time we got off the phone, I had spent over $1,000! I had asked about their cancellation policy and was told it was three days from when my program started. It's my own fault, but I was under the assumption that my program would begin when my food arrived. I was wrong. I signed up on a Tuesday, received my food late on Thursday and started eating it on Friday. It is now Sunday.

Since I started on their food, I have been having gastrointestinal issues including severe stomach cramps, embarrassing gas and bloating. After lunch today, I decided I couldn't take the pain and gas anymore and was going to cancel my program. When I called to cancel, I was told they could cancel my next food delivery and reimburse me that fee, but that was all they could do because I was past the three days. When I asked how that could be when I only got my food on Thursday, it was explained to me that my program started when I signed up on Tuesday. I couldn't believe it. How can they expect you to start the program without the food?

But that's the policy. If I get a doctor's note, they may be able to give me more of a refund, so now I have to set up and pay for a doctor's visit on top of what I put out for the program. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told there wasn't anyone who could talk to me and they would put a note in for someone to call me back within 48 hours. The woman on the phone was nasty and snapped at me several times. What kind of company expects you to make a decision in that short a time when you haven't even tried the food yet? Unbelievable. I just hope I can get more of my money back.

Hello! My wife, Marjorie, has been using Jenny Craig, on and off for more years than I can remember. She has a disability so we tried the food by mail program for awhile. That became too expensive due to the shipping costs. She recently started back again at the Santa Clarita location on Boquet Canyon. We were shocked at not only how costly the food was, but also how poor the food quality was. My wife used to love their blueberry pancakes and sausage. This time, however, there was no evidence of blueberries and the sausage may as well have been cardboard. The personal pizza was a complete waste. The sweet and sour chicken was a soupy mess, with only 1 or 2 pieces of chicken. The chicken stuffed sandwich had little chicken.

We used to get 30% off, but that has been reduced to a 10% discount; and only as my wife gets a senior discount. For seven pancakes and sausages, they charge over $4.00 per box. At the grocery store, we can buy a package of 40 pancakes for $3. We can get most other foods at 50% off their cost by buying Smart Ones or Lien Cuisine. I realize they have to charge more as you have the counseling aspect, but my wife, being disabled, eliminated that as I pick up the food. My wife used to like your sirloin of beef and turkey, but they are no longer available. Unless you make a major concession of your pricing, why should my wife ever go back to Jenny Craig?

The end of January, I went into a Jenny Craig in Torrance with a friend to inquire about the program. We were greeted by a woman at the desk who appeared to be weighing at least 100 lbs. over her healthy weight. Even though we had scheduled appointments, we sat in the lobby for at least 20 minutes. I'm not sure why we had to wait since there were no other customers present. Waiting only made us more aware of how many staff members were overweight. This would be okay in most other businesses, but at a place in the business of weight loss, it is not okay. My friend did not join the program and she is now considering Weight Watchers.

After reaching my weight loss goal using Jenny Craig, I was lured into rejoining Jenny Craig at $49.00 in order to benefit from the maintenance plan incentive of $200.00 if I maintained the said weight loss goal for 12 months. So I rejoined, went monthly for my weigh-ins and in April 2012, had maintained my goal weight for the required 12 months in order to receive $200.00. The center director assured me that it would only take 4-6 weeks to receive my incentive check. After 3 phone calls to my local center and confronting my weight loss counselor, they said they had to refile the paperwork again because there were errors. So on Aug. 8th, when I still hadn't received a check, I called again. I was assured the paperwork was being resubmitted again.

On Thursday, Aug. 9, I received a phone call from the new center director who said that I never qualified for the $200.00 incentive because I was on a "different" JC plan, which rewarded me with food discounts over the past 3 years. I can promise you, I never received any food discounts over my 2 years with JC. So since I was lured into rejoining, I have paid $198.00 on renewing my membership with promises of receiving an incentive that I supposedly never qualified for. This is ridiculous. How come 5 different people, including 2 center directors never noticed I wasn't on the correct plan to receive the incentive? I feel like I have wasted countless hours over the past 18 months to fulfill a commitment they never intended on fulfilling. I am fuming mad. I absolutely will never recommend Jenny Craig to anyone I know.

They've had some turnover of help. I'm on my third consultant and she seems not to like me so she can't wait to get me in and out. I have to ask to get measured. This time, I'm not asking and let's see how long it will take for her to tell me it's time. It's been over a month now.

I called the home office and they just took up for the employees. At least they support their employees, not the customer. Their answer to me was for me to drive 30 minutes to a different location. And I get no coffee. I wonder if they work on commission cause I see them to be nice to people that buy a lot of food. I only buy five days' worth.

It becomes a dread to have to go in to see them when they are just going through the motions of getting their job done. Home office doesn't want the liability. When doctors' offices and banks and other business don't have a problem with the courtesy. One thing nice is the food is good, but high. Lunch is five to $6.69 and dinner is about the same. You can buy healthy choice dinner for $1.69 when there's a sale and they are just as good. I would quit but when I start something, I want to finish it.

I thought one of the features of Jenny Craig was that their counselors were going to guide me through the process. I feel completely ignored and left high and dry.

I am appalled at the lack of customer service, specifically by the Centre director of the Sunnyvale Centre, Marcella. I am going to move to another Centre and see if I have better luck.

The food was too highly seasoned for me and within one day, the disease which I had under control for over a year was exacerbated by the amount of sodium. When I phoned customer service, I was given the cancellation in 3 days line. Even though the food arrived after the three days, I was told that there was nothing I could do. I understand the concept of caveat emptor - let the buyer beware, but this is a health issue.

Can anything be done to the company to make them accountable? For people with health issues, is there a class action suit being brought against the company? Is the Better Business Bureau alerted to this? By the way, the food is worse than airline food. The celebrities must be getting paid quite a bit.

Basically I thought I was doing myself a favour and decided I wanted to lose weight. I looked into Jenny Craig as they supposedly had a discount through my employer. After much confusion I picked out a plan despite not understanding what the rep was talking about nor getting answers to any of my questions and like a blind sheep I gave them my billing information.I thought about what I could be doing with the $400+ I would be spending each month on food and decided I had made a complete mistake. I called on the second day as the customer agreement that was emailed to me specifically states that you have 2 days to cancel up until midnight on the 3 day. I never signed the agreement as I didn't agree with it at all and was able to see what the cost would be on paper.

So I called 1-800-JennyCare and spoke to Greg. I told him my concerns about how expensive I thought it was and simply didn't think I could afford $400+ a month for food and wanted to cancel. He apologized to me and told me the warehouse was closed that day as it was Sunday but said I had a shipment ready to be sent out the morning on the 3rd day. I paid $779 for my membership and 4 weeks of food. He said he would "try" to stop the shipment before they sent it out so I would be able to receive the full refund but the looks of it were very meek. When asking him how much I would be refunded he wouldn't tell me and said I would have to wait for his phone call in the afternoon of the 3rd day. I waited...and waited...and waited.. and received no phone call but instead an email with a tracking number for my order.

At this point in time, I was livid. The package arrived this morning, and I immediately drove to the nearest UPS location and told them I was refusing the package. They told me that I would need to call UPS and schedule a pick up. A few moments later, I called UPS and gave them the tracking number for the parcel and the rep from UPS told me that the sender had no directions for returning the parcel and that I would have to call Jenny Craig directly to find out how to go about shipping the product back. Reluctantly, I called Jenny Craig because I knew they would be of no help to me, and was greeted by Shirley. I told the rep I was really upset and needed information on how to refuse the package and send it back. She "apologized" to me stating that even if I sent the package back I would not receive a refund. I also mentioned to her that I did not sign or agree to the customer service agreement and I had called on the 2nd day to cancel my order. She rudely said to me, "Well you knew when you were receiving the shipment." That is when I said to her, " Well your company's contract specifically states that I have 3 days to cancel my order.

I called and cancelled on the 2nd day. It's not my fault your company had decided to ship out your food without my consent as I didn't sign the agreement. Why would you send someone something when they don't agree to it and then charge them?" She then proceeded to give me the excuse that the contract was generic and that would be charged for 2 weeks of food. Their contract also states that, when you order more than 7 days of food, you will be charged for the 7 days of meals but anything after the 7 days you would be fully refunded. I told Shirley that as well and she again said, well, that is a generic contract and we sent you 2 weeks of food in the first shipment.Well excuse me? That isn't my problem how your company sends food now is it? If the consumer is supposed to abide by those rules of the contract then YOU the company should have to as well." She said she would take down my information and see about getting me more of a refund by talking to a supervisor.

I was just hired at a great company when Jenny ** called and offered me a consultant position. I have just started an online Master's in Nutrition and I thought it would be a great opportunity so I quit the fabulous job I'd just gotten and went off for training to another city.

The training was mostly memorization of scripts! There was one for when desperate people called in and we had to make them come in right away so we could sign them up, which turned my stomach. The next script was for the actual consultations! I was shocked! I thought I would have more opportunities to talk about actual health with people, but no, we only get 15 minutes to 'make the next menu sale' so they scripted that interaction to capitalize on that!

By now, my stomach was really turning. Not once did we get the details on the quality of the food either, and I still have no idea how many chemicals may be in it. I heard from a friend that his mother tried it and found it was full of preservatives so she canceled her plan. There was a lot left out of the training, to say the least. After all this, the freaking trainer texted us all our schedules at 9pm at night and some people had to work at 8am the next morning! Not only that, the schedules included split shifts and shifts less than 12 hours apart! What?!

I was livid! I texted her back that I would not be doing the shifts too close together nor the split shift as I was never made aware this could be part of the job. I have severe insomnia, and need a more regular schedule to deal with this. I was under the impression that the difference in shifts start times was normally only about 2 hours either way, not this!

She said, she would call me to discuss this and never did, two days in a row! So I filed a complaint with corporate headquarters and they said I would have to deal with the problem more directly as my center is a franchise. I said, I was just going to quit anyway so there was nothing to deal with. Besides that, the other girls who had already started in the center witness this same trainer firing a consultant, and watched her stand over this poor girl as she emptied her desk!

I made sure corporate knew about this too. After I calmed down a bit, I decided maybe I would give it a try, part time instead, but because I told corporate I was just quitting, they sent my complaint onto the franchise! Needless to say, they didn't think me working for them would be in either of our best interests.

She also claimed that some of my complains were entirely untrue. I am sure she is referring to how that poor girl was fired. There is no way the trainer would admit of what she did. Whatever, I hope that trainer got fired. She is an **. And another thing, all the consultants seemed to always be on the Jenny ** diet and were all fat! How does that look to clients coming in hoping for a plan that works when it clearly does not?

Jenny Craig encourages customers to see their consultant as their partner in weight loss. In the case of my 77-year old mother, Jenny Craig was her partner in misery and a spiral of deteriorating health. "Lose 20lbs for $20" was what caught her eye. But after a visit on Aug. 6, 2010 at the Jenny Craig center in Langley, BC, that $20 quickly turned into $429 per week followed by a cost of $537.37 at the first visit. The consultant was great at selling us all the positive results, including a claim that she will lose 1-2lbs per week. This investment will pay itself back in less than 2 years, she claimed. As you can imagine, we were a little hesitant in changing the diet for a woman nearing 80; fearful that her health may pay the price for the sake of 20 pounds. After plenty of reassurance and a promise to discuss her diet with her family physician (which never happened), we felt comforted by the consultant and the years of experience and qualified nutritionists who we were promised would oversee my mother's diet plan.

After a week on the diet, my mother complained that she was getting too full, the food didn't taste good, she was bloated and on top of that, she developed a severe cough. The price you pay to lose a few pounds, I thought. I mentioned it to her consultant Danielle, who reassured me once again. As time went on, my mother began to feel extremely ill so I tried to contact the nutritionist, but none was to be found. Our consultant continued to reassure us, but accused my mother of perhaps doing something wrong. I was told I would receive a call from the nutritionist as soon as one was available. Maybe she just had the flu, we thought. The flu shouldn't last this long though nor should it disrupt your life to the point where you can't sleep, eat or breathe properly.

After 4 months of the program, fluctuating results and a severe reaction to Jenny Craig's food, my mother's doctor diagnosed her with Gastroesophageal reflux disease. After 3 days off the program, the vomiting subsided but she suffers with a cough that will not go away and was required to take 2 pills everyday that are not covered by her medical plans and is costing her $4 per day. I've contacted the center on numerous occasions, provided documentation from my mother's doctor and requested the attention of a manager or supervisor who only after insistent contact, ever got back to me; all to ignore my calls and give me no resolution.

After a call to the customer complaint line and weeks of correspondence, I was offered a $300 refund from the $2437 we spent on the program. My mother's health will never be the same. The program was the direct cause of her illness and all I ask is for her money to be returned. Why would a company that prides itself in quality products and services, treat an elderly woman so inhumanely? I would appreciate some response and resolution to this complaint as soon as possible.

The problem with Jenny Craig is its business model which creates two primary conflicts of interest. The first is between the Jenny Craig consultant and the consumer. The second is between the Jenny Craig consultant and Jenny Craig itself.

In the first case, the first duty of the consultant is to sell products to the consumer. The more products sold, the better. But how can the consultant act as both a sales officer of the company and as a weight loss coach for the consumer? The short answer is that she can't. Jenny Craig is less than honest about this conflict of interest.

The second conflict stems from the remuneration system which is so lopsided in the company's favor that low-paid, autonomous franchise operators are heavily incentivised to cheat the system and to cheat their customers.

This is what happened to me. I was sold store-bought grocery foods packed in Jenny Craig parcels for which I paid full price while the staff pocketed the profits for themselves. This same scam has been perpetrated at hundreds of Jenny Craig locations and it goes on to this day. Home office knows about it but lacks the will to police their franchisees. The next day there was a commercial to lose 20 pounds for $20. I called them that day and asked why I had to pay $500 for 15 pounds. I was assured that this was a lifetime of food and membership that I needed. I will admit, I was very vulnerable at the time. Within 24 hours, I developed horrible gas. I couldn't be around anyone and it was very painful 24/7. They urged me to continue eating their food and that my body was just getting used to the fiber. I had to stay home; it was so embarrassing and uncomfortable.

Besides that, it made me feel even heavier because of the bloating. I finally discontinued the food, bought my own, and within a few weeks, the weight came off. I never went back in to Jenny Craig. However, I did call them as they had promised that if I lost half the weight by November 2010, I would receive half my money back. The receptionist then informed me that it wasn't that simple. I needed to maintain the weight loss for 5 months and for an additional $49, they would change the month to January 2011, be re-evaluated and maybe get half my money back then.

I never contacted them again. What a scam! I lost all the weight on my own and feel great. I will never trust another weight loss center again. She said no, this is the only one. I had let her know I was desperate and in a hurry, so she had me. They never gave me a copy of the membership. When I called her back 2-3 days later, she told me "you signed a contract". I then tried to go through customer service and was told several times I would get a call back. But no one ever called me back, except to ask for an order. I only had the same consultant 5-6 times and for the remainder of 8 weeks, had no consultant or some random person who called for my order.

The consultant (Jerry) I spoke to disappeared one day. I had problems getting a price list. I was supposed to order without one. I had shipping problems, orders missing and no one except Jerry would call me at the designated time or try to do something about all the problems. In fact, he agreed that the problems have existed throughout the organization for some time. I wonder where he went? They advertise the use of a "personal consultant" as something high on their self image list, an enticing part of the program. It would have been very helpful if I had ever had it. Overcharging me for food I didn't want or didn't get. I closed my credit card so they could no longer charge without my permission. They were supposed to call me with the amount before charging my card or shipping. They didn't do that and when things were wrong, they said "we already charged your card, we'll give you credit and send more food on the credit". Never would they credit my card back directly, only company credit (which I didn't want).

I was also told by Roz that their program was specialized for diabetics. When there was nothing ordered from a diabetic standpoint (she ordered my first order), I called to inquire why there was so much sugar in these selections. She said, "what I meant was Jenny Craig is approved by the ADA". I said, "oh yes, because weight loss is good for diabetes". My first charge on my credit card was over $800. It all happened so fast. I was really desperate to lose weight, it is a health issue with diabetes. I believed the advertising and what Roz said. None of it turned out to be true. It was very difficult to be struggling with health and have the very thing that I thought was going to help be so chaotic and untruthful. For people to be so lacking in organization to get everything wrong. I was completely stressed out trying to straighten out problems with it so I could get the help I needed.

I was on the phone, writing emails, etc. Too much of my valuable time spent straightening it out. My blood sugar elevated because of the stress. I have repeatedly asked for a refund on my original membership minus the type of membership everyone else gets, 20lbs for $20 or whatever. That is all I want. I see by reading posts on the internet that I am one of many who had problems with it.

After opening and picked up turkey burger, I noticed one side of burger had been chewed on and that was a mouse dropping on side of burger. The burger was returned and a report was made. I have not been contacted as of yet. I had just joined Jenny Craig on April 2, 2010 for a year. I do not want anymore Jenny Craig food!

I went to the center (as they call it) on Feb. 26, 2010 and joined. I got home and the more I thought about this, I came to the realization that this would not be cost effective for me at this time. Next day I went to the center and cancelled the membership. According to CT law, I have 3 days to do so. I filled out a paper with the dates and Christine filled in the amount to be refunded to me. We both signed the form and she has a copy and so do I. To date I have not been given back the full amount and this refund and it is 2 months that I am waiting. Note that as with others in this site, the call backs from Jenny Craig were far and few. Only when she would answer the phone did I get to talk to her and she lied about the refund each time, saying that the check was in the mail and it was not.

The total refund was $316.94. I received two checks, one for $71.85 and one for $213.31; they still owed $31.78. I know that I will never see this money from them. I have turned this over to CT consumer protection department and have informed them of that. I have not heard anything from them since I told them.

I joined the program, paid $497.00 at the initial visit believing that was the program fee and cost of food. After analyzing my bill when I got home I was charged an additional $90.00 for 5 books and 2 bags to carry my food home which was never explained. I brought my bill back with the books and bags the following week and was told that it was "included in the program price". However the items I mentioned above have a separate line on the bill. The center told me that is because these items are taxable however that is not true everything in Jenny Craig is taxable. There is also misrepresentation involved. When joining you are told you will have your own consultant. I had 3 different consultants in the 4 weeks I participated in the program.

I have diverticulitis and there are foods that contain seeds, nuts and popcorn. I have written twice to Jenny Craig's corporate office in Carlsbad, CA., but they have never responded back. I was misled by their TV advertisements and by the initial intake paying for things, I would have never paid for if it was explained as "an additional cost". I ended up having an attack of diverticulitis because I was given a different consultant every week and because I was new to the program, I was not familiar to their food. My initial consultant was aware. I feel I should be reimbursed the cost of the books and bags, I can return all of them in excellent condition. I should also be reimbursed the program fee amount minus a proration for the 4 weeks I did participate.

On January 14, 2010, I joined the Jenny Craig on-line program. On January 15, I called back to cancel after I realized they misrepresented their program and shipping costs were $65.00! They said 7-10 days for a refund. The next day, the representative who signed me up for the program originally called me to confirm I wanted to cancel which is completely retarded. She said, she had to talk to me before she could release my order. I told her to release the order.

Then, by January 28 (13 days after I cancelled) I still did not have a refund. Lyndsey ** is a supervisor at Jenny Craig and she said she was walking the refund upstairs "right then" when I spoke to her on February 3, 2010. However, when I called back today, February 4 to make sure she had actually taken it "upstairs" I was told by "Brenda" that they didn't have my credit card information and therefore could not process my refund. Now, I've spoken to about 5 people regarding my refund and Brenda is the first person to ask for my credit card number. I am livid.

I bit into a Jenny Craig Pizza on the evening of the 30th May 2009, and felt something hard. I found that it was a small acupuncture magnet. I returned the pizza & magnet, with the box that it came in, to Jenny Craig on the Monday and was given a replacement meal. They replaced the meal. However, I no longer felt able to eat any of their meals, so ceased using my membership by June. Therefore, I paid for a year premium membership but only used 6 months. On top of this, it doesn't exactly make one feel comfortable in using any processed foods or in purchasing prepared food - perhaps this is reverse psychology on their part to assist in weight loss, who really knows! Anyway, my point is that they should at least, refund my membership fee, as a bare minimum! However, they have not responded to my requests for this (from those sent in July, until I phoned 2 weeks ago - and then only to say I had to deal with the person in High Park who is very aggressive and I refuse to deal with her).

Anyway, basically, they gave a replacement meal, didn't respond to my request for membership refund in July - in fact didn't respond to this request until a verbal phone complaint to the national office about 2 weeks ago. And then I was told by Anastasia, that they would refund my membership. But then I got a call from my centre (High Park), saying that they don't give refunds and blah blah in an aggressive manner. So then we got to the round and round in circles with Anastasia of: "I am not speaking to her because she is aggressive" with the "You need to settle this with the centre director", versus the "Yes, but she is aggressive, therefore I am not dealing with her".

Economically (last Dec), I paid over $600 for a 1 year membership of which due to their negligence, I only used 6 months. Emotionally - I had difficulties using processed foods before my membership, it has always been very rare that I buy processed meals - but it is even more of a problem now. I try to stick to fruit, veggies, and meats/eggs/cheese/bread - but even so, this kind of thing sticks in your brain - the food has been handled, what else is in it that shouldn't be? What can't I see that they have put in there? It also makes you quite conscious and concerned of what and where you eat out. Just think about it; as you bite into that slice of bread and you suddenly bite into a magnet? Hmm, how do you feel, and what are the long term consequences?

I worked for Jenny Craig for sometime and I'm very upset with the way everything has turned out. I was a consultant for 3 years, top consultant in the country. My work product has been excellent, as recognized by the performances evaluations and awards I was given. I saw so many clients that they asked me to open up on Sunday because they wanted to use me as an example for the rest of the employees in the company. We opened up and now Jenny Craig opens up 7 days a week. I got promoted to a center director for five years; they sent me to the center that was doing really low number because I'm a very good sales person as well as being like by many, clients, managers and Jenny Craig herself wanted to meet me because she knew my reputation in her company.

I had never had any problem with anybody for 5, always a very good track record with my performance on my job. I had a bad experience with Jenny Craig. I went to a manager's convention 2 years ago and almost got killed and raped there and they never acted like anything happened at all. They told me that I was not hurt and "don't talk about it." I never talked about it at all. I had to see a doctor that they set me up with. I was terminated on August 21, 2009 because I started to write up my employees in June. One employee was coming in late, another one was calling out a lot on the weekends and one was not liked at all by the clients and she was very mad and she sent a letter to Human Resources.

I followed company policy, I did my job. I did the verbal, written and before I could put them on probation, I needed to find replacements and that was hard because Jenny Craig doesn't pay a lot. It's so had to work 6 days for a year without pay because managers only get paid for 43 hours. I was working 62 hours per week. I also informed my supervisor of everything that was going on. On July 29, 2009, my supervisor called me and ask me to give her my keys because I was suspended and being investigated until they find out what happened.

On August 21, she called and said I was terminated because I had created a hostile environment for my staff and the clients. Then she sent a letter that said i had violated some policies like Business Ethics policy and standards of conduct. I don't understand what happened because I got a call from someone at the office and they said clients were crying, walking out and not buying the food because they found out what was happening to me. They sent 250 letters, 250 called the hot line and 300 stopped going in the center since all of this. The clients wanted to go to the news media because they feel like these were lies and they sent letters to the Vice President and the CEO of the company as well.

Jenny Craig had never seen anything like this before. The clients wanted me to do something about this. They wanted to do any thing they can. I don't know what to do! This is just some of what happened to me and they don't care. This is a company that is a privy company and they can't be touched, my boss said. I'm writing for the clients and me. Can anyone help?!

Craig Corporate offices received my cancellation letter on 9/25/09 at 2:42pm signed for by K Farmer at Jenny Craig per FED EX #219158010048317. Several attempts to find out the status of my refund have been futile. The corporate offices state my letter is "m.i.a" and the manager at the Jenny Craig office in Simi Valley where I signed up states I was obligated to purchase a full week of the product in order to qualify for a refund even though the contract clearly states I had 3 business days to cancel "without penalty or obligation". Futhermore, the contract states that upon receipt of request to cancel the buyer will be refunded in 10 days. I am getting a run around now from the corporate offices and the center. The very fact that the manager of the center did not give me my copy of the contract made my husband suspicious. And when I went to pick it up the next day an employee retrieved it in an unsecured area of the office with my credit card information available to anyone that entered this area. I left a message for the manager who did not call me back until the corporate offices told her I was unhappy with the treatment I received from her. All I want is my credit card to be refunded as I did all the right things according to the contract. I have been a Platinum Lifetime member of Jenny Craig for the past 15 years. My mother, sister, and husband are also Platinum members for over 15 years. I have been attending the Bedford Centre for the past four months. I had purchased the Rewards Membership for the first time for $99.00 a few years ago and I have been renewing it ever since then. I pay $39.00 every November. The last time I paid was at the Carrollton Centre in 2008, and I was told that it would expire in November 2009. When I started going to the Bedford Centre in January, I was told that they did not take the Rewards membership. Later, I found out that they are still a part of Jenny Craig and they do take it. I spoke to Ginny and Sherri at the Bedford office and they verified my membership and put stickers on my folder. The last 4 visits had been fine and I have been getting my 10% discounts.

The last time I made a visit to this center, I encountered a problem with a very rude and unprofessional consultant named Lucy. She was very unprofessional and yelled at me and insulted me. I felt she was discriminating against me, because I am brown and she was speaking to all her white clients. She made me wait 45 minutes. I had an appointment at 11:35 and the white lady that was scheduled at 11:45 was seen before me. I was very upset especially when the white client and Lucy both started yelling at me and insulting me and making racist remarks. This is not the 60's and everyone in this day and age should be treated with respect. I am an attorney and I know it is unlawful for anyone to discriminate based on race, color, or national origin. I am not bringing any lawsuits because I have been attending this centre and Ginny has always been nice to me. Anyway, I left the centre that day with tears in my eyes for being treated the way I was.

I received a call from Maria yesterday, 4-6-09, and she said that she was told that there was a confrontation. By the way, she called me yesterday almost two weeks after this incident occurred. She told me that everyone should respect each other. She didn't make me feel better about the incident; instead, she was pointing fingers at me and blaming me when she was not even there to witness anything. I decided to go back to Jenny Craig and give this centre one more chance. I met with Ginny and she was nice as usual but then the manager, Karen, asked to speak with me and wasted 30 minutes of my lunch break and really didn't get anywhere. I didn't like the way she spoke to me. Instead of making me feel better, she seemed rather rude and abrupt. After she finished talking to me, she decided that she was not going to give me and my husband our discount anymore. Then she said that it wasn't her choice; it was Maria’s decision.

I don't understand why this Centre is playing games. Either they want my business or they don't. Sherri and Ginny verified my membership a month ago and started applying discounts after I had already made so many visits. And now instead of refunding the amount that I was overcharged, they do not want to give me what I paid for. I am very disappointed that Jenny Craig is offering shady customer service. This centre is representing Jenny Craig’s name and they are not doing a very good job. I paid for the Rewards membership in Carrollton and it was already verified. Valerie in Carrollton knows that I paid for it because she took my money from me. If I do not get respect, proper customer service, and my rewards membership, I will not continue to come to this Centre and I will let everyone know about the shady customer service that I have received. I am a attorney at AMR and work with thousands of people. So please keep your reputation the way it used to be in the 80's and 90's. I paid for the Rewards membership and the discounts shouldn't be refused to me, just because the manager doesn’t feel like offering it to me. Is this another form of discrimination?

I feel like I was ripped off and lied to by your company. I had the oil changed on my 2005 Ford F150 with only 14,300 miles on it. The first thing that happened was they told me that they recommended I use synthetic blend oil. I asked specifically if the standard oil met the manufacturers specification. The girl that was inputting my order said that it did. I said to use the standard oil.

After a few moments a man I assume was the boss came over and told me that Ford requires a synthetic blend oil for all vehicles 2005 and newer and said that it was in the manual. I told him that I already asked the girl and she told me the standard oil was to manufacturers specification. He maintained his position about synthetic oil being required. I told him that they should not be offering any oil that did not meet manufacturers specs. He told me that many people told him they didn't care about manufacturers requirements and that was why they offered the standard oil. When I got home I looked in my manual and there is no requirement for synthetic blend oil for my truck.

All the oil needs to have is American petroleum institute symbol that says for gasoline engines. I cannot believe the standard oil you use doesnt meet this spec. I was charged an additional $14.99 for the synthetic plus a few dollars more than standard priced oil because my truck requires 7 quarts of oil.

I feel Jiffy lube owes me that money back. I am also very disappointed in your sales tactics where you base recommendations on assuming everyone drives in Severe conditions. You never make an attempt to inform people of this fact, nor do you ask them how they drive their vehicle. You simply tell them they need services and most people do not have sufficient knowledge to contradict your sales people. However, I do have knowledge and will not be buying any unnecessary service.

Although, much tio my chagrin I did fall for the synthetic oil charade. My truck has 14 thousand miles on it and doesn't need any of the services you recommended including but not limited to the fuel filter, air filter, A/C service or synthetic oil. You recommended I have all these services performed. None of them are required until 30,000 miles on my vehicle. An A/C service is never required.

Even though I asked clarifying questions about the recommended services, there was no mention of how I drive affecting your recommendations. You should ask about how a vehicle is driven and not assume severe driving conditions. Your company can make plenty of money by recommending and performing services at normal levels.

Your current process is intentionally misleading and you know it. I hope someone files a class action lawsuit against you for these misleading sales practices. It is not right to intentionally mislead people about the services and materials they require. You know as well as I do that many of the services you sell are not required and that you simply scare people into buying them because they don't know any better. Additionally, your prices are ridiculously high. I can go to my dealer and get an oil change for less money. Sincerely, Ben Moore

I called Jenny Craig on 7/18/06 to sign up for Jenny Craig and place an order. After a second phone call just minutes after the first I called to clarify a couple of things. I was then made aware that if I didn’t buy the food I couldn’t have a counselor. I immediately asked to cancel my order because it was too much for me. The lady told me they just placed the orders if I wanted to cancel I would have to call the corporate offices and she would give me the number. The number she gave me was 1-800-443-2331. I thanked her for her assistance, hung up and dialed the number for the corporate offices.

It was after hours so I listened to the recording which said the business hours and said I could leave a message. I opted not to but to wait until 5am when they opened to place another call so I wouldn’t be stuck with an order. The message did not say it was 5am central time so I called 5:07 am eastern time. I left a message stating I wanted to cancel and needed someone to contact me as soon as they got the message. I also gave them grief about not being open when they said they would. I proceeded to call four more times the fourth time leaving another message.

I then called back the original number I had which was 1-800-597-5366. A young woman picked up, I explained my situation and explained how I really wanted to cancel it before it was shipped out so there would be no problems. I told her I called the number given but there was no answer and I kept getting the machine. This was around 7:20 am on 7/19/06. She explained that it was 5am central time and that the phone lines would be open in a half hour or so. I thanked her and then felt bad about the first message I left about them not being open when they said they would. Anyway, I wait and around 8am Eastern Time and 5am central time I call again to cancel.

This time my call is answered by a young woman I failed to take down her name. Well I explained everything to her. She asked for my number I gave it to her she said I wasn’t in the system yet. She asked if I had any other numbers I might have used. I gave her my cell phone number. She said she still didn’t see anything but she would make a note and cancel it for me she took my information and asked if there was anything else she could do for me. I said no and thank you very much. She said sorry for the trouble and for me to have a nice day.

On 7/25/06 at around 10am Eastern time I receive a Fed ex box. The man drops it off and leaves. I accept it thinking it’s something else I ordered. The box doesn’t say Jenny Craig or anything so I read the shipping label and see it is in fact Jenny Craig. It was shipped out on the 24th of July express overnight to be delivered the 25th of July. Knowing I canceled my order on the 19th of July I immediately call the corporate offices. My call is answered by Leann,I gave her my home number to pull up my account she says there’s nothing, is there another number? I give her my cell number she says yes it’s right here how may I help you. I explain everything and give her the whole story. She says well there’s no cancel on this account but I’ll do it now. I thanked her then asked what about the box already sent? I told her it was unopened still by my door and that I had called immediately to rectify the situation because I knew I canceled and something must’ve went wrong.

She said she doesn’t know what to say about the box I already received but she would have to check with her supervisor who wasn’t in yet. She said she’d call back but for me to open the box and put the frozen food in my freezer and the dry foods on my shelf so nothing would go bad before she got back to me. I said ok thank you and got off the phone. Then I thought about the box had dry ice in it, wouldn’t that keep the food fresh? So I called back and Leann picked up. I said Hi this is Janece W you just spoke with me. She said yes Ms. W what can I do for you or something like that. So I began to explain and reason with her. I said if the box has dry ice in it can’t I just have fed ex pick it up and ship it right back to you. Won’t the dry ice keep it fresh? She said actually it will but California state law forbids us from taking back any frozen or perishable foods for health reasons. I told her the box said it contained dry ice and to wear gloves and I was a bit concerned.

Leann said I must becareful because if I touch the dry ice I will get burned. She tells me to put on gloves and then open the cooler. She says tip it over the garbage and let some of the packing peanuts fall out. Then get a wooden spoon and fish around in the box and remove the remaining pieces of dry ice. She then tells me if you really don’t want the food please don’t let it go to waste you can donate it to a shelter or something. Then she said as soon as my supervisor arrives I’ll have her look everything over and get back to you. I said ok and hung up again. I did just as she told me. I wanted to run some errands but didn’t want to chance missing there call. So I called back this time Suzanne answered the phone I asked to be connected to Leann she asked my name and number. I gave them to her. She told me to hold, she then came back and said Leann was actually sitting right next to her but was busy at the moment. I explained I was waiting for a call back she said she knew all about it and in fact their supervisor had just come in and she would give the supervisor the papers and explain everything because she was aware of the situation. I said no problem I just wanted to make sure they had my cell number and called me back at that number because I might not be in the house when they called. She said ok, they had it and everything is fine.

Maybe 10, 15 minutes later if that Leann calls me back. We get disconnected, I call her right back. Suzanne picks up the phone I tell her I had just been disconnected from Leann and she transfers me back. Leann then says they checked there call history and talked to everyone in the office. She said no one remembers talking to me or agreeing to cancel anything. She also said there is no record of me leaving any messages or even calling. I have a detailed call list from my phone showing every call I made to them and how long the calls lasted. It even shows the calls I made to my credit card company American Express to dispute the charge of three hundred thirty dollars and forty nine cents.

I expected a much higher level of service from Jenny Craig, and I am quite disappointed. I am surprised that a company which prides itself with quality service and effective quality products would treat a consumer in such a way. Because I do not want to spend any more time on this problem, I have written this letter and am sending it to those who may help my situation. I expect a full refund. I will be informing my friends and family about this experience.

Management, of course, did NOT call me back by the end of the day so I called again today, and this time I got through to customer service. She put me on hold and wnet to talk to someone, and then came back and told me she would take it to management, and I would get a call back by the end of the day. I am not holding my breath. I need a refund of $670 from them and need to know how to go about getting it. I also want others to know about this program.

I am out $670.00 and have nothng for it.
