RUN! In less than a year, the monthly fees went up by $200. You are not allowed to use the garbage can inside - you'll be asked to remove all items. If you move out during the month, they rush you out without a partial refund. Location was Recker and McDowell in Mesa, Arizona.

I initially signed up with 2nd street storage in Berthoud Co owned by a young couple but unfortunately they sold out to Public Storage. They promised same good service. They lied, the previous owners allowed me to ship a packgage or two straight to the storage place because they were a UPS store as well. It was convenient to place my package into my storage unit. We have porch pirates so can’t deliver it to my house. New owners dropped being a UPS store and they refuse to sign for my package.

This place "Public Storage" is an absolute rip-off. They lure you in by a low rate, then after a couple of months, they put you on a very quick escalator for your monthly bill. We went from $200 to $500 in just a few years...BEWARE!!!! They are total rip-offs & could care less about you. We went to another same-size storage unit for $225 & their price have not gone up in 5 years another customer told me... The resident manager told me the same thing, if the price goes up, it will be a small increase & there won't be another for years... Don't get sucked in with their fake promotions, because after you get all of your stuff in the unit, the price will rapidly start increasing... Who wants to move out after all the work of moving in... NEVER AGAIN, PUBLIC STORAGE!!

I have rented the same storage space for 10 years from the Public Storage location on Widgeon Road in Norfolk, Virginia. Gladys, the property manager, has criminally harassed me, stalked me and has destroyed my property ever since she began working at the location. Gladys has shoved food underneath my storage locker door to encourage rodent infestation. Rodents have destroyed more than $10,000 worth of property I had stored in my locker. Gladys has taken every opportunity to make my experience with Public Storage miserable and torturous. I made Jimmy ** aware of the behavior recently, but it seems Gladys will continue these behaviors, if present activities are any indication.
This leaves me with two viable options to end the criminal behavior Gladys perpetrates against me: 1) File a lawsuit; 2) Leave/end my patronage of Public Storage altogether. With regard to Harassment and Stalking: Upon entering the Public Storage coded-entry gate, Gladys begins a campaign of following me and watching me - this has been happening for years, and is not an irregular occurrence. I have reduced the frequency of my visits for this reason - Gladys makes me feel threatened. I started going to my storage locker before dawn when the gates first open at 6 am - soon thereafter, Gladys began doing the same. I started going to my storage locker later at night before the gates close at 9 pm - soon thereafter, Gladys followed suit.
Public Storage keeps digital logs regarding the coded-gate entry of its patrons. There is also video footage on file in your offices. A thorough check of these databases by a Public Storage employee or officer will reveal much of the evidence I am alleging took place. These records may also be subpoenaed in the event of a court proceeding. The behavior of Gladys in this case is terrifying, pathological and criminal. Public Storage, through its property manager Gladys, is engaging in a criminal enterprise which gives me little recourse but to seek assistance from law enforcement.

If you're looking for the worst customer service in the world, welcome to Public Storage! The location on Hopson Rd in Morrisville, NC. We've been waiting to call a call back from district manager Kevin ** for MONTHS. He refused to call. Today, we tried to get an answer regarding late payment to learn that this person no longer works there. Christopher ** was supposed to return a call and he too refused to call. The poor employees are forced to be the messengers for terrible management. We want to make an arrangement to pay and no one will help.
If you call them "We Care" they actually don't. They again, tell you to reach out to the local managers and no one responds. The rent continues to rise for no reason. The value of Public Storage is abysmal. They will sell your stuff if you're a month and 16 days late without zero understanding. This place is the worst. Beware. It's a rip-off. My family's entire life is about to be lost forever for corporate greed.

I rent a storage unit in a facility that was bought this summer (June 2024) in Miamisburg, OH. There is a lady who works there named Ashley and she was absolutely a joy to speak with today! I’ve literally never had such a great, knowledgeable, and helpful person on the other end of a customer service call. Short-term, not bad. Long term the rate hikes get absurd. Find a better storage facility who will treat you with some respect.

Awful experience all the way around this morning when I simply called for needed help. Their phone representative, Sandra, was rude, snide and altogether the very worst customer rep we have ever dealt with. She said it was to be expected that their already high rate was being raised a lot for the second time in a year and said this was how the storage business works. She kept rudely interrupting me and would not listen at all. I finally pleaded with her, repeatedly, to please let me speak for just one minute without being constantly interrupted but she refused...just kept loudly talking over me, basically bullying me. Does that not say a lot about Public Storage overall? It was bad enough to be shocked by their sky-high rate hikes twice in less than a year but being treated so disrespectfully made it clear that Public Storage is not the right choice.

I’ve had the greatest experience at Public Storage so far! The property manager, Cole, at Northwestern Hey, went above and beyond and out of her way just to accommodate me. Thank you very much.

I was robbed! Apparently the tenant next to me breached the wall and came into my unit and emptied out my unit. Management repaired the wall and never told me that my unit was breached. When I asked management about the incident, the manager "Charles" did not show any support. He just kept saying, "Contact your insurance carrier." I don't know how or when, but apparently it was raining in my unit. The few items that were not taken were covered with mold spores. Additionally, rat droppings and rat urine were present. Lastly, after I moved out, Public Storage still goes into my account every month and take money.

The only reason for 1 Star is because 0 Stars is not an option. I have been a Public Storage customer for 3 years and can say with certainty that they have unscrupulous business practices when it comes to pricing. My original rate at the end of 2021 was $143.84 and my rate incrementally recently increased to a high of $346.29. As a "courtesy" they reduced my rate back to the previous $273.69 for 3 months and was told by an Escalation Supervisor that there is no one able to reduce it further. In what world does fair market value for a 10'x10' storage unit increase in value by 2.5 times? Especially when introductory rates for the same unit are at $112 with a special reduction to $69.
The idea that longevity is not only meaningless, but exploited is the worst kind of business practice. Perhaps there are people out there who would expect such an increase, but I am not one of them. I will never recommend Public Storage to anyone and will be moving out of my unit as soon as possible. This company should be ashamed of the way they treat their customers!

Public storage has had this problem in Austin and other Colorado. The thing is people need gate access codes to leave. The only way they can do this is if they someone helping them from the inside. Over the last 20 years we have rented storage lockers from Public Storage in several cities. However the company is no longer the quality provider it once was. Our most recent experience was at a Public Storage located at 2301 E Ben White Blvd, in Austin, TX. The facility is dirty, one of the two elevators is frequently out of service, 3 of the 4 carts are missing, and the bathroom always locked. Most concerning is that complaints to the district and even the regional manager have not produced any results. I am not sure why this occurring. I know that managers are bonus driven and perhaps reducing maintenance expenses is one objective, but this seems like a short term strategy at best. We just vacated three climate controlled lockers from this site and paid to have it moved to a different company. Very sad to see a good company fail like this.

I recently had a fantastic experience with Public Storage, thanks to Pam from both Pickerington location and Yasi from the Kenny Rd location. Immediately following my attempts to make a reservation online I received a call from Pam to gather more information. At that time Pam was helpful and provided all the information I needed upfront and alerted me that my plan to have our belongings dropped off via a moving truck wouldn’t work, giving me time to adjust.
In the meantime, while juggling too many tasks post-move, I accidentally booked a unit farther away than I intended. I went to the Kenny Rd location to fix this issue where I was greeted by Yasi. Yasi went above and beyond to help me understand and fix the issue. Even though she couldn’t resolve everything on her end, she made sure I knew exactly what to do next. Pam followed up afterward, working with me to clear up the residual confusion I had caused and patiently worked with me to get my plans back on track.
I feel both Pam and Yasi could sense my stress (moving to another state is SO stressful), but they approached my concerns with professionalism, kindness, and understanding, and for that, I’m beyond grateful. I highly recommend Public Storage for their excellent customer service and the teamwork of both Pam and Yasi in helping this new Ohioan experience the friendliness and hospitality of the Midwest.

I wish everyone would cease renting from this company so they would learn the value of long term customers. Count on 30%+ increases in your rental fee every 6 months (yes 50-60% per year) while they have other units available for 1/2 the price. They have zero value in long term customers. This company is only useful for a short-term solution. Once they charge your account for a month you are stuck with that entire charge - you can pro-rate a month when you move in, but not pro-rate a month when you move out so make sure your life works on a calendar month. I did not receive the email that was supposedly sent to notify me of a huge increase (I accepted the last 30% increase and paid it for 6 months due to life circumstances; I would not have accepted this one). Since they have already charged my account they will do ZERO to help me with the current charge, so now I have about 25 days to move my stuff out and find another solution.

This was a great place to start with and would recommend it IF you don't plan on storing for longer than a year, or two. My only issue with Public Storage is the rate increases That occur yearly, and not by just little. I started out paying 29.99 a month, and each year / month the cost increased, more than 25%. I now pay 194.00 a month. On one occasion they acknowledged the increase was at a 45% rate, so they reduced it. They reduced the increase once, and denied all other requests since, in writing. In summary, when renting any storage unit, ask about the yearly increases and what the rate is. I was informed by Public employees "there is no cap" on how much they can increase someone's rate. So make sure, when renting, that you are aware of the rate increases so you don't have to find another storage facility.

Before moving to Florida, I have used many storage facilities for my business and personal needs. This is my first experience with the Public Storage in Ocala and I couldn't make it my last fast enough. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because I do believe my stuff was safe, but the rest of the experience was so bad, I had a hard time justifying giving them that. The company thinks it can run itself without any one actually working there.... just use the kiosk. lol It took me an hour and ten minutes and talking on the phone with 4 different representatives to actually rent out a couple of their units. And after the first months $1 promotion is over, the next monthly figure you will see is not your monthly rate, but a prorated rate for the remainder of the month. Very misleading. I'm sure it explains it somewhere in small print, but it is not truly clear or transparent.
The third month you will see your actual monthly charge. For me it was a 10x15 unit that cost me $230 after taxes. The most expensive unit I have ever paid for by far!! Don't forget to get your own lock cause after 30 days you will be charged $20 for the one they provide you, non-refundable. I am sure that it is written somewhere in the fine print also.
12 minutes on their website's chat feature just to ask where do I write a review. After a few computerized answers that answered nothing, a real person finally came on answered my question. There are a few other things I could comment on but I'm done and I'm done with them. After my experience, I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this company. There are so many mom and pop storage facilities out there that will greet you with a smile :) and a hello. The one I moved to in Crystal River is a bigger unit for less money, 10x20 unit for $151/month not including taxes. This review is for 15000 W Parker Rd Parker, CO 80134 location. This place is a ripoff and I would tell people to stay away from this location. They get you in at a reasonable price and then they just keep jacking up the prices every 6 months. I'm almost paying 3 times what I signed up for originally. Plus when things are not working they don't fix them yet they keep raising the prices on you all the time. The units seem nice but the lighting is all bad inside and you can't see in your unit. I have asked several times to have fixed and they say they will fix it but never do. They claim that the installer is not fixing the issue but I'm sure there is a reason. They probably didn't pay them in full or some other business issue. There is usually a reason a business doesn't fix something at another business. Public Storage should just fix it to give the customer a good experience for what we pay but instead they point the finger somewhere else of course.
I plan on moving out because it just is not worth the outrages cost to stay there long term. I use for personal and business so I can cover it but I still feel being taken advantage of. You would think they would offer better rates for long term customers but they do not. I would avoid at all cost. Only for a very short term would I only consider it. Buy a shipping container if you can. If you have a place to put it. It's less expensive in the long run. I plan to do this myself.

I must start by saying the gentleman that works at this particular site was just wonderful and that what I'm about to say does not have anything to do with him as he was kind and helpful every time we spoke in person and over the phone.. I only want to warn people that the rent can change dramatically from when you move in to when you're forced to have to move out because the rent had went up drastically. Mine, from 41.00 to 69.00 for a 5*5 unit. When I asked why my rent was so high the lady told me, in a very nasty tone, they can charge whatever they want to. I was shocked at her response. This whole time I thought everyone's rent had increased not just mine but that's not the case.
After doing a little research on online I discovered that I was paying one dollar less than the next size up which was a 5^10 unit. The really bad news was that they had no intentions of lowering my rent either. I admit that I was couple days late a few times over the course of an year and a half but there are fees you pay because of that to. I should just say that probably 90 percent of us renters are late because the money just isn't there at the moment. The other 10 percent maybe just have others things that they want to do instead. Raising the rent because we are late is an oxymoron move. That certainly isn't going to help us pay the next time. It's actually going to make us unable to pay again so it just doesn't make sense.
There should be law that prevents a company from charging one person more than the other. I've heard of nightmarish stories about these places and now lived it first hand. So for me are the true stories? I have to say yes. People lose their storage daily and they are making even more money on top of all the expensive monthly charges, fees, locks and sketchy insurance they make you buy. At any rate, I suppose the moral of the story is pay your rent on time, get your own insurance and lock. Make sure you can access your unit a little after 6 pm. Take pics of exactly how you left it the last time you left, get your rate locked in in writing for at the very least one year. .Most important if they do not have a email or a phone number to call if an issue arises try it to see if it's actually is that number and find out who you actually get to talk to and it's not someone who is going to pass a message on to another who makes those decisions.
If anything is wrong with those two ways of reaching them look elsewhere no matter what kind of deal they are giving period.. because those prices will change anytime for any reason. My ordeal does not leave me looking forward to having to do it again but at very least I am going to follow my own advise and you should too! Sorry folks.

I went into the office on August 6 with $500 in cash, I spoke with Jim and he said I did not have to pay the total amount I had to pay 350 and that would get me out of the auction status so I said Cool. I paid the 350 and he made it clear that I’m out of auction status And the other fees would be added to my August rent so I was thinking and I agreed to pay him before September 1 comes August 12. They still Auctioned off Me and my children’s stuff I lost my mom a couple years ago. I have no memories of her. My kids have no clothes, shoes, or winter coats are bids TVs.
Everything that I owned was in that storage unit and the manager of five years by the name of Jim made it clear to me. I have video footage of Jim admitting to this. I also made a police report and this guy Jim to meet thought it was funny. He didn’t care.
I tried to reason with him and tell him you know you told me this or I would’ve just paid my bill in full but told me the fees would be just tagged along with my month's rent. Well that was not the case I’m just bleeding with anyone to not go to this Storage company is a scam start legal paperwork. I am suing them and be very cautious. Upfront I will say that the management at the location we rented from were great but Public Storage financial practices are unfair and predatory. Within one year our rates increased twice. The 1st time $40 & the 2nd time $60. All within 3 months time. We were never late, did not have an unkempt unit and had no issues that would warrant a such large increase. After trying to work out a solution we were basically told we could move to a different unit to get a lower rate. How does that help? In 3 months they would raise the rent again. Ultimately we moved to a different storage company. They do not sign leases to lock in rates. You are month to month and this is how they are able to put the screws to people. Shameful!

My experience this past week absolutely broke my Spirit and my heart. Ten years ago I rented a tiny storage unit in Brighton, MASSACHUSETTS. This past year the rent jumped to $300 and since I have two other storage units it was hard for me to be on time so the owner ** constantly charged me 20% more each month to be cruel. Last week on July 21 I called ** to ask what date my storage auction would take place and she lied and said I had a full week to pay my past due amount.
So this past Monday when I went online to pay on their site. It informed me I no longer had a unit. I panicked and called ** and she said the Owner ** would allow me to pick up my belongings in 48 hours. I cried and said I'd do it. I called Corporate just to confirm and they contacted ** again but this time she said my unit was empty. I found out the auction took place July 24th. There were no bids and some lucky individual or maybe the staff stole all my belongings including rings my mother gave me when she died, my paintings, some beautiful couches I bought that were original designer pieces and clothes and shoes.

If you vacate your units on the first of the month, usually when you are moving, guess what… you’ll be paying for the entire month. Also very expensive, I just lost over $500. No prorating whatsoever, so they take full advantage of working people when weekends fall in the beginning of the month and double dip on the unit. If you complain… they just spit on your face saying that you signed THE (trap) CONTRACT that says “no prorating”. They also MANDATE that you pay extra for insurance every month as they are not responsible for their premises issues (I had water damage to my furniture) and damages to your belongings.
It is in my opinion a company without ethics who writes unilateral contracts in small print for their customers to sign, taking advantage of customers’ needs and hires the most rude, uneducated, impolite, lazy, unprofessional and incompetent people who makes you wait while they play on their cell phones and refuses to have you accompany them during the inspection of the unit after you vacate, which is a customer’s right. While it used to be you could talk to the district manager, but now you can't even talk to them all the big wigs fat cats sit on their cans in Glendale, California are just raking in the money and ripping people off anybody they can! Figuring they have an unlimited source of suckers. Please take heed, because they will do you wrong. I don't think it's wrong for people to make a profit but this is ridiculous no one else gets to make this kind of profit except: for the government, and drug dealers, and public storage!! Beware.

We will never use Public Storage again. They run specials to lure you in, and within 6 months you are on your way to substantial rate increases. We rented for almost 3 years... They will increase your rates every 6 months to a year. I have gotten two rare increases in less than two years. The first rate increase was 15% and the second was 30%. Cameras displayed around the property do not actually work. Although you rent at your own risk, you assume there is a basic level of security.
I had a male person verbally corner me the first summer while using my climate-controlled storage. He was talking nonsense, drinking, smoking, and hinted at suicide. I had to call 911. Carts were available rarely, and that was part of our storage rental agreement. On several occasions, there was trash, debris and cigarette butts laying on the floors and in the halls in the climate-controlled building, in addition to the dumpster overflowing with people's unwanted furniture and trash. My final complaint... We moved out of our unit on the 12th of the month and there is no proration for days not spent in the unit! We lost approximately $100!

Public Storage has a friendly staff. However the price to rent a storage space is crazy. They don't want long term renters. Only in and out. I started with Public Storage in 2007 and had to moving in and out because of the price. I like my 10X40 unit but I need to move out of it because the price for 10X40 has gone to $622.00 but 7 miles down the road I can rent a 10X40 at a Public Storage for $383.00 or at the same location rent 30X20 for $285.00

TERRIBLE SERVICE OVERALL!!! I am frustrated and disappointed of the lack of customer service I was provided. I will elaborate on my complaint:
1) I started the rent on July and some months later, a 24% increment was forced from them. I felt as if I was a hostage, because moving out was more expensive so I had to agree to the unilateral increment. I had two climate controlled units rented. So the increment hit me "twice".
2) I received notification of a damage on the roof on one of the units. When my team arrived at the place, furniture, wall decorations, clothes and a TV were wet and with signs of mold. We had to rush and remove all the items stored in the unit and bring them to our shop for evaluation. With that information, we have to file a claim and hopefully get some compensation from the insurance company.
3) Because of the situation with the insurance claim, we had to postpone delivering the items from the occupied unit and finally got it out "one day after the new month". Oh, this makes it mandatory for me to pay for the whole month because Public Storage doesn't prorate the fee.
I called their office and they said that "based on the contract" I have to pay 30 days for 1 day of use. I ask: doesn't the contract also say that I rented a climate controlled unit? How come a unit with holes on the roof is climate controlled? Isn't this a breach of contract on their end? Holes on the roof is not a "random event", as they want to put it. It is not a lighting hitting the roof, or a tree crashing on it. IT IS LACK OF PROPER MAINTENANCE. And still, they learned about the problem because other user reported water on the hallway!!!! In two words: TERRIBLE SERVICE.

It pains me to write this. I have procrastinated as much as I can in a feeble attempt to distance myself from the emotional pain inflicted on both myself and my family Mar 30, 2024. Nevertheless, after the events of April 3, 2024, it has become clear that I must make sure there is a written record in addition to my phone calls. I’d like to begin at the beginning of this ordeal however, several days before the incident in question to give essential context.
Mar 6, 2024 I was made aware of the vast disparity in pricing. My company has been a customer of the storage unit located at 1800 Castle Dr. Rowlett, Texas long before it was owned by Public Storage. I was being charged $388.00 a month for a 20x10 climate controlled unit with no contract. On March 6th, I went to the company website and saw 20x10 climate controlled units being advertised for $155.00 a month. I contacted the front desk to confirm that I was not under a contract and could transfer units to receive this new price. I was told that I needed to come into the office to do the transfer. I work full time as an educator, and knew I would not be able to make it into the office that day so I made a reservation online in an attempt to secure the rate.
A few moments later, I received a brash phone call from an employee identifying herself as Michelle. She was very aggressive in questioning why I had reserved online after being told to do the transfer in the office. I explained that I would get off work too late to come in that day but could come in tomorrow. Upon entering the office the next day, I was greeted by an employee by the name of Larry. He informed me that I could only receive the price I saw online and not in the office. I was visibly confused because this went against what Michelle had instructed me to do. Fortunately, I had not canceled the reservation and showed Larry the email. He then told me they could honor that reservation. It was at this time I asked when I would have to move or did I need to come back at the time I was prepared to move the unit, as I had dropped by on my lunch break.
Larry told me I would have until the end of the month. He then had me sign a new agreement and told me my total was $188.00. I asked if this was a transfer fee and he informed me I was prepaying for the unit. I was a bit concerned with this because I had already paid $388.00 that month but I said I would be able to manage because that meant I would not have to pay the next month, Larry conferred.
I then made arrangements with my family members to gather the needed help to move the items in my unit. We agreed upon Easter weekend because we would have additional time off from work. I arrived at the storage facility on Mar 30, 2024 with my mother and my business partner. Upon entering building A where my former unit was located, we were unable to locate any moving carts. My business partner went to the front office to inquire about their location. There she met Michelle who informed her that “if you don’t see any, then we don’t have any''. We were a bit flummoxed, especially after I informed them that there are typically six or more carts available at any given time. I chalked it up to new management. One of us then had the idea of checking building B, where my new unit was located. We walked over to building B which was devoid of any cars and found three carts.
We figured if we grabbed a cart for each of us, we could be done quickly. We took the carts back to building A and began loading them up and walking them back to building B. This is where we first encountered our eventual assaulter. As my business partner and I pushed the carts towards the elevator he yelled after us that we had all the carts. I turned and told him that we didn’t but that several carts were missing which is why we had to get carts from building B. At this time he was standing in an empty unit sweeping it out with a shop broom. We continued making trips but discovered it was much too difficult just pushing the carts and we began loading the trucks. After several trips, we were exhausted and concerned with my elderly mother’s health and decided to take a break. Upon exiting the elevator in building B, we dropped off the one cart we were using at the time next to the elevator. Here we were met again by Michelle.
Michelle walked up to us and told us she needed the cart. Upon being greeted with my perplexed face she then asked rudely if we were done. I informed her that she knew we were not because we were moving an entire unit from one building to the next at her request but that we were taking a break and didn’t need the cart. Michelle took the cart and began pushing it ahead of us. We then saw her bring the cart to the man with the broom and the empty unit. I then turned to my family out of utter shock. I questioned if I was seeing what I thought I was. Michelle was of no service to us when we inquired about carts earlier but she hunted us down in a separate building when a ** customer inquired about a cart. The gentleman heard us talking and offered the cart back. I told him it was okay that we were taking a break anyways.
I also mentioned that we weren’t upset with him but with Michelle’s continued mistreatment and that I planned on contacting corporate about her behavior. By this time my business partner had walked out of the door of the building and I was right behind her. The man then interjected that maybe we should do what he did and hire movers to move his unit. My mother was trailing us and told the man we didn’t have the same disposable income as him and asked him if he would pay for the movers. The man became irate. He started yelling obscene comments at my mother. I couldn’t quite make out what he was saying but as I turned around I saw she was visibly upset. I began asking him what he said to her. He then started yelling at me. I moved towards my mother to get between he and her because I was concerned for her safety.
Here I told him that he needed to show some respect for his elders, that this was a 66 year old woman he was speaking to and that it would not be accepted. I told him he honestly shouldn’t speak to anyone that way. He then picked up his broom and began brandishing it as a weapon. I was in shock. I began pointing to the camera and asked him what his intentions were. My mother turned around to see him preparing to attack me and began yelling at him that he would not hit her daughter. She pulled at me to turn and leave but I told her I was not comfortable turning my back on him while he continued to swing the broom like a baseball bat because I feared what he would do if I turned my back. Eventually he stood down and I turned to escort my mother safely out of the building. As we exited, my business partner informed me that Michelle was standing by and heard the entire incident.
My business partner explained that she pleaded with Michelle to let her back in the building and Michelle simply walked away as she banged on the door to get back in because she heard the man yelling at us and feared what was happening. Our plan at this point was to leave but our exhaustion had led us to forget that our trucks were filled with stuff that would prevent us from safely driving home. We knew we had to return to building B but our plan was to park on the opposite side of the building far from our assaulter. We would also take both trucks in case we needed to quickly flee. Upon reentering building B in my truck, the man with the broom continued to attempt to antagonize us by waving at us and sneering. I ignored him and instructed my business partner to do the same.
Upon parking, my mother rolled in behind us. It was at this time that I noticed she was clutching one of her grandkid’s miniature baseball bats to her chest. I asked her what she was doing and she said she wasn’t going to let that man hurt her. She was visibly scared and shaken. I told her to come up in the elevator with us so that she would not be left alone with him. The man with the broom then yells down to where we are that my mother is a joke and that her little bat was funny and would do nothing to defend her. My mother didn’t want to come up in the elevator because she said she was concerned what he may do to our vehicles. I told her there were cameras watching them.
Once we were free of the situation and the shock began to wear off we called corporate the moment we made it home. We were instructed to accept a call from a local number because the situation was being escalated. Before I ever received that call, Michelle called. Apr 3, 2024 Michelle called inquiring about payment for the transferred unit. I was taken aback. I questioned how I could be in danger of being late when I prepaid before I ever moved in.
Michelle took a moment to check her records and said I had two units. I reminded her of the transfer and then questioned if I had been misled about prepaying and had I in fact been double charged. She said that it seemed that way because I needed to pay for this month for that unit. I had had enough of trying to communicate with Michelle and instructed her that I would just wait on the call back from corporate and discuss it with them then. She asked if it was about payment and I told her our original call was about how she had been treating us and the incident on March 30th.
A short time later that day I received a call from Brandy who identified herself as a manager. She said she was calling to inform me that the “person in orange on the video was no longer allowed on the property.” I questioned her as to how she felt it was fair to restrict me from the property when it was my unit and I was the one accosted trying to protect my mother. After I made this statement, she quickly changed her tone and told me she had not been informed of this. She told me she had been away from the office due to the loss of her father and that she saw no notes in the system regarding the incident on March 30, 2024. I let her know we had already contacted the corporate offices and were waiting on a call back. She said she knew nothing about this which made me wonder, why and how she then knew to review the footage and call me at all.
As she mentioned Michelle it became very clear. After reliving the same traumatic events I outlined above, Brandy then became apologetic. She went from questioning why a “customer felt the need to defend himself from me with a broom” to apologizing and informing me that I did not have to be concerned with him any longer because he had moved out that day. This led to me internally questioning why the man with broom ever was given the cart because by his own admission he had hired movers, the unit was already empty at the time and we now knew that he was moving out not in.
It is impossible to continue to ignore the obvious racial overtones. It’s clear that racial prejudice led to the man with the broom wielding it as a weapon, Michelle refusing to service us and then abandoning us in a time of need and lastly Brandy’s allegation that I was the villain and not the victim despite never waving a weapon at the man with the broom. I feel racially profiled against. It is clear that Michelle chose to serve the ** man and not the ** women. It is irrefutable that Brandy chose to attempt to deprive me of the right to access my unit without any due diligence to have a conversation with me first and that despite the video evidence of the gentleman brandishing the broom she accused me, the ** person, of acting in a threatening manner.
At the bare minimum the implicit bias and subsequent blindness to the facts skewed both Michelle and Brandy’s perspective to not only fail to render aid demonstrating deliberate indifference but to further the trauma and discrimination by accusing me of aggression and attempting to ban me from my own unit over someone who is not even a current customer. Consequently, we were deprived of both due process and equal protection because of the color of our skin.Upon the conclusion of the conversation with Brandy and after her checking my story with Larry, she offered me a $75 credit. She stressed that she didn’t have to but chose to as though that would fix things. She said it was meeting half way as though I held some responsibility for the alleged miscommunication as she put it.
I thanked her for offering the credit nonetheless but informed her I was still going to await a callback from corporate before taking any further action aside from contacting my therapist to work through the events that occurred that day. She also said Michelle offered an apology for not helping when the man with the broom accosted us along with the explanation that she didn’t attempt to render aid or contact the authorities for help because of something that was said to her that day. Lastly, Brandy left with telling me to ignore the voicemail that she left on my phone shortly before I answered. I have saved and attached the voicemail to this email.
I also have text messages which show that we were led to believe that the unit was being transferred and that I had until the end of the month to transfer. I’m unsure if your phone calls are recorded or not but if so, that would serve as further evidence as Michelle inquired as to why we did not have a lock on the unit in Building B and we informed her that we had not moved in yet as instructed. Lastly, I have social media posts and videos taken that can further corroborate our state of mind and emotional distress.

I was told I could vacate my units at any time and that I would receive a prorated refund. This was not honored when I moved my belongings out a week ahead of schedule. My furniture all smelled like smoke. I have never smoked and my movers didn't smoke. I had to pay to have the items cleaned and the ones that were still reeking of smoke were just thrown out. I asked how to file a claim for damages and I was advised that since I carried the rental insurance through my own homeowners policy on my rental home, I had to file it through that company; Public Storage was not liable. I advise all of my friends now to sell their belongings that aren't heartfelt to them; it's not worth it.

As a long-term customer of Public Storage, I've been bewildered by the recurring increases in my monthly rent every six months. I'm struggling to understand the rationale behind these frequent hikes, which have amounted to a staggering 35% rise in just half a year. Isn't this crazy? Most concerning is the lack of a transparent standard for these increases.
I've been met with disheartening responses when discussing this with the manager. Instead of addressing concerns, His suggestion was to seek cheaper storage options elsewhere. The manager said that the price will be increased every 6 months. This makes me feel very frustrated and insecure! No matter what size the storage is, there should always be a standard price, right? There must be at least a standard percentage for increasing the monthly rent, right? They didn't. The practice here is that the longer you rent, the monthly rent will keep rising. This is the most infuriating.
For the same size storage as mine, the price listed on their website is the same as the monthly rent I pay. The difference is that they give new customers one month's rent free. In comparison, not only is there no discount for me, a long-term customer, but the rent is also increased by 35% within 6 months. This is my fifth price increase. Isn’t it too outrageous? What business philosophy is this? Other merchants will give long-term customers more favorable prices, but the Public Storage not only didn't offer any discounts to old customers, but also crazily increases prices for the long-term customers. It doesn’t make sense! Isn't this a money grab? The consistent surge in rent solely is frustrating. They don't value their long-term customers. Their price increases are clearly aimed at long-term customers. This is the tricks how Public Storage make money. Consequently, I've had no choice but to terminate my lease and move out.

I do NOT recommend this storage facility. They start you off renting a space for a reasonable price but then they REGULARLY raise your rates every few months… AND THEY DON’T NOTIFY YOU OF THE INCREASE!! I rented a 10x10 unit when I moved to Houston and was paying less than $100 a month. A few months later they increased it to $120. Another few months it was increased to $160. Then another few months and they increased it to $199.
Now… they have increased the rate to $265 a month for a 10x10 unit without any notice! They are charging me more than double what they are charging on their website for the same size unit at the same location! The customer service rep was not willing to offer any real assistance other than to lower my rate back down to $199 for only 3 months at which time they will increase it again!!! DON’T RENT FROM THEM!!! THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND!!!!

So I tried the online chat option to speak to a customer rep. that also was not working. Kept giving me the hours of customer service and that none were available. To try again in a few mins.
I was on hold for almost 15mins to get an ACTUAL person on the phone to help me with THEIR website issues processing a payment. The employee who answered the phone was very hard to hear as it sounded like she was away from the phone. She then proceeded to tell me she could help me this one time as a courtesy. I'm sorry but that was beyond rude as it IS NOT my problem that this company only offers online automated help and NONE of those options worked, so please explain to me how you're giving me a 1 time courtesy to help me pay a bill that WILL NOT process online?! Not to mention her attitude during the whole call was rude and she sounded miserable. Company needs better customer service. MY LOCK I PAID FOR. She told me I had to stop or she would call the police on me for destruction of property. I wasn't destroying anything. Just wanted to get my CHRISTMAS TREE. She absolutely forbid it. I may have used a little choice words telling her what I thought of her.
I am 75 years old. I was going to let my grandson use the tree because he wasn't going to have one. Now because of PUBLIC STORAGE 2 families will not have any Christmas tree. She called her manager. He called me. Said I had to call a lockSmith, wait for them, pay them money for something I could have done myself. They cancelled my gate code so I can't get into my unit anymore. They still want their money but I am not allowed in to my unit anymore unless I put out extra money for someone to come and do the same thing I could do.
I live in California. I have no extra money for anything. All I can say is Public Storage has destroyed 2 families' christmas. All my christmas is in the unit. Way to go public storage. Because of you 2 families will have no christmas. Enjoy your holidays. Because of you I will not be having any. You have destroyed everything. I have the unit because of my oldest grandson was killed in a traffic accident. His things are in there. My mom passed away. Things of hers are in there. Other memories of my grandchildren are in there.

I have renting a storage unit from Public Storage in Columbia SC for one year. Has always paid my account on time or before due date. It has increased from $176.00 to $230.00 now. I only got behind one payment in Dec. 2023. I paid a partial amount and was charged a late fee of $48.00 more and everyday of the week. I have reminder emails and phone calls about my account. I made arrangements to before the next due date but they call and send messages. Now a message says that a lien may be placed on my account for 173.00 what is owed, my unit has rat dropping inside and I am paying the insurance fee $15.00 and I don't think my property is be secure or protected because my property could be infested by rats but their only concern is getting their money for the unit.
It is not fair to call and send messages 100 times over a one-month payment owed. As soon as I get another storage unit I will gladly move from Public Storage. The staff were nice when I signed up but not they have a different attitude when the month comes around to pay the bill. It is a mistake to pay so much for storage that increase 6 months and paying for rats to live there eating up my property leaving dropping everywhere. I am not a happy client with Public Storage. I will not tell my family and friends do rent at Public Storage, No Thank You. I rate A zero for the service.

I have rented storage from Public Storage in Georgia since July 2022. Every few months my rent was increased slightly. I started out with 4 units slowly downsizing to 2 to zero. The space was needed temporarily until I could get all of my stuff to Alabama. I have rented storage spaces from other competitors and this is the first time I encountered the following. This is just so you’re aware If you move out, you will not get a prorated refund even if you use only half a month. They will keep the days you don’t use. They call it a month to month lease agreement. That being said if you move out at the start of a new month, you will owe the entire month.
Also the $1 promo for first month’s rent isn’t what you’ll actually pay. You’re going to pay their non refundable admin fee, pay for the lock you really can’t use anywhere else and the insurance. So your minimum first month for all of that will be at least $50 or more depending on the size. It doesn’t feel exactly honest on how they advertise it but I guess it isn’t illegal so they can advertise that way. So my advice is to research the agency and their competitors before renting and read their fine print.

I have been renting with them for over a year now. Every single month my rent goes up and they charge outrageous for late fees. I have 2 units and have paid 2x in one month and still the next month they still say I owe more. I called the property manager at the property to discuss my issue, she was rude and didn't even have my account information when she returned my call. I asked her about the fees and she said she didn't know what to tell me but I am past due. I then asked for corporates number and when I called them the person on the phone was worse than the manager. She kept repeating the same thing to me stating that they sent me a notice on my rent fees going up and resent me an email for only one unit. And still even then the amount for rent is nothing near the notice nor my contract price.
They say that the monthly rent is based on availability and the need for that area, which isn't right. I then asked her to please look at my account and she said she couldn't because it's 20$ to get help from an agent. I told her that I was getting a lawyer and they will be in contact. She then said "maybe you should" and hung up.

As a Combat Veteran, my heart is heavy as I share my experience with Public Storage. Picture this - a year and two months of diligently paying for my storage while I battled homelessness. After four long years on the streets, I finally secured an apartment - a blessing that, ironically, left me unable to cover my storage fees. Expecting a glimmer of understanding, I sought help from Public Storage, but to my dismay, no employee, in person or on the phone, showed an ounce of sympathy. Yesterday, on the eve of Veterans Day, my storage unit was auctioned off, and with it, I lost everything. Official paperwork, VA documents, discharge paperwork, clothes, shoes - all gone. Even when a non-profit offered to settle my bill, willing to pay by check for proper record-keeping, the district manager turned a cold shoulder. Public Storage, it seems, only cares about your money, oblivious to your circumstances, regardless of how long you've been a loyal customer.
This heart-wrenching incident exposes Public Storage's disregard for the Veteran community, the neighborhoods they operate in, and every individual they serve. They should be celebrating a Veteran's triumph over PTSD, homelessness, and depression, not contributing to the very struggles we fought to overcome. This Veterans Day, I stand stripped of my possessions, questioning whether having a place was worth losing everything. Public Storage, in their pursuit of profit, has forgotten the human stories behind their customers. I give them absolutely zero stars!! Happy Veterans Day

It took a while, but I finally reached their support desk. They indicated that it would be repaired and I would be notified within 72 hours of the repair. Three days later, I had not received any call back so I called again. A work ticket had been created and was most likely completed. They asked me to check to see if it was done. The next day, I checked and nothing had been done, so I canceled my storage unit. I asked for a refund, but they would not issue it, even though I was not able to use the unit. So even though I could not use the unit, and they would not repair it so I could, they still charged me. I would not recommend Public Storage. All they really had to do was provide me a different unit with a working lock.

Public Storage has convenient tools for paying bills, entering gates, renting a unit, and setting up an account. However their business model is predatory and highly greed driven. Their main goal is to extract money rather than secure "tenants." EVERY 6 months they increase monthly rates and it will sadly never end!! My first increase was + $70/month. They may initially offer a request to remain at same rate which may be temporary if they approve that. If there is an error in a payment not going through due to an error in entering a card or bank number plan to not have notice that there was an initial processing error and being charged a lot. They may or may not take into account a reliable payment history and work with the customer. If you desire to stay with a budget and not be taken advantage of.
Their solution is to me be all your items into a smaller unit that would be priced lower. Really?..move belongings into a space they won’t fit inside not to eventually be priced out of that space as well? Oh boy. I'd suggest doing further research on small business models with ethics and value of your hard earned money rather than not caring to price you out for their personal financial gain.

When I was looking to rent a storage unit in Bellingham, Wa, I was told that there weren't any 5 x10 units available. This happened on the 16th of Oct., 2022. I was told that I could take a 10x20 for $1.00. It was supposed to be a promotional thing. They didn't tell me about the administrative fees and the insurance and the door lock, etc. I intended to be moved out within a couple of months. My plans failed for various reasons. I was astounded when I discovered that I was being charged $288/month for that unit. I paid it each month but it was breaking me, as I live on a very low Social Security income.
By the time March came, I knew I had to get the rent cheaper. Ì found out online that there was a 5x10 available. I scheduled to take it the 8th of March to start moving out of the big unit into the small. I was completely out of the big unit by the 15th. Since I had already paid the $288/mo and I was told it would be prorated, I was expecting a credit the following month. (The rent on the 5x10 unit was $100 plus $15 for insurance.) I let 2 months go by without seeing the credit I was promised. (By the way, I contacted USAA about renters insurance and discovered I could get everything I owned insured for way less than Public Storage was charging me, so I got my own insurance and had them remove that charge.)
By the time I was coming up on 3 months of expecting the credit, I talked to Belinda in that office. She proceeded to tell me they don't prorate. Not only that, but I had to pay the full month's rent on the small unit, even tho I didn't take it till the 8th. And, when I rented that unit, I was charged, again all of the administrative fees and the lock fee as well as the full month's rent. I went over Belinda's head and had to argue with a couple of people over this, telling them that if I had known or been told I wasn't going to be credited the $144, (which is 1/2 of the $288 fee I was paying), then I wouldn't have been out by the 15th. I would have just kept the unit for the whole month, not freed it up for them to rent out to someone else, since I had paid for it.
They finally agreed to the $144 credit for that unit but never credited the 8 days on the smaller unit. Within a couple of months of settling that, I got notice that my rent was changing from $100 to $140. A 40% increase. My sister rents at U-haul and she questioned them about their policy on raising rent. They told her they never raise it while you're renting it. When I got that notice, it was the last straw. There was so much more, but it's just too lengthy to go into. They got 1 payment at the $140 rate, but after that, I was done. I would never recommend any one rent from Public Storage, especially if you're on a very limited income. They seem to have figured out "ALL" the ways to get in your pockets and take everything they can get! If you choose to rent from them, BEWARE!!!!

On the 26th of September, I was almost out but still had a few items to move but needed to wait until Sunday after church to get movers for the heavier stuff. On Tuesday, I talked to the manager or so I thought and she said since my rent was due on the 2nd, as long as I was out by the 1st, it'd be ok. She jotted something down on paper and said that after the computers were back up, she'd make a note of it. Apparently, she forgot and they charged me for a full month, taking it out of my bank account even though I was completely out on Sunday.
I understand that they don't prorate move-outs but I had the word of their employee that it was "all good" because I was out before my due date. And they refuse to refund my money. I am a woman of my word and I expect others to be as well. It may just be $198 to them but it's a partial car payment to me. And if I were able to pay the $198, I would have never moved.

Aug/11/2023 I made an online reservation. That was a Friday. When I got to the storage it was closed and is was too far from me. So I called them the following day to cancel the reservation. Since I didn't have the option to cancel it online. When I called 8/12/2023 no one answer the phone so I left them a message asking them to cancel my online reservation. They did get my message but didn't call me back until the following Monday 8/14/2023. I explained to the manager that I never got access to the unit and I never got a lock. He said they had to charge me for the whole month because they charge on a monthly basis and I had agreed to that when I made my reservation. I explained again that I had never accessed the unit and that I cancelled the reservation the following day.
I know in California you have three days to cancel a contract. Since I never moved in there's another law broken. In California in order for a contract to be valid there has to be an offer and acceptance. But I never got hold of the unit. I never moved in and I cancelled the online reservation the following day. So I told this guy to just cancel the monthly rental or whatever he had to do because I was never going to move in. Then to add more harm to the injury. I get a call a few days after from July. She tells me they are charge me only for 4 days. I know is not legal for them to charge even for those 4 days, but 4 days was less than paying for the whole month on a storage unit that I never occupied. So I agreed.
She then said she will reimburse me for the rest of the money they had initially charged me for. I thought the issue was resolved, but then I get a letter from a collection agency where it states that I owe money to Public Storage. I called Public Storage to resolve the issue again and I get a girl that she didn't know how to solve any issues. Then I called the number that July gave me (the lady that said they will charge only for 4 days). She called me back telling me that I had not paid for the four days. That's when I brought to her attention that they had charged me a higher amount and the only did a partial refund. She then explained to me that they had charged for a lock that I never got since I never had access to their property and that they never charged for the four days. She then mentioned that I still had to pay for those 4 days and that she was going to mail me a check to refund me to the lock I had paid for.
They are not only horrible at doing business, lack of knowledge of California Laws and they are also bad with their billing. They made a mistake with what they charge for and they penalized me for their mistake by sending it to collections. Ah and she still wants me to pay for those days that I never had the unit. They have taken customer service out of the equation. The locations that do have a person working there, the employees don't speak even when you are speaking to them. They have made their site office resemble a prison size booth, where you have to stand and speak to a person who is at their home through a very irritating video monitor on the wall and positioned so that you are uncomfortable viewing the monitor and bending to see or key in your information. I had to kneel down with my medical boot on one foot and my leg devise on another to speak to someone through a video and see what I was keying in as if I am in a a prison cell or something. I went to pay my bill today only to find out that they have gone up $60 on each of my units without notice, that's $120 and I haven't been there a year.

We began renting our space, a 10 x 20. At first, when we signed the contract it was $58.00 a month. They raised the prices over three years, we never complained or did anything but paid our storage fees every month, which ended up being $138.00 a month. We had a financial strain, and missed 1 payment, after over 3 years.
At the local level, they told us we could just pay a month on it and we would be fine. The next month we got a call, that told us we had to pay not just the $138.00 but a large service fee of $100 extra dollars, on top of the next month's payment that they needed in advance. We are disabled and live on a very tight fixed income. We couldn't come up with that 15 days before payday, oh, and they also told us they cut off our lock but we could buy theirs for $25.00 more. We told them we could work it out with them on payday, but they firstly said at the local level that they could not help us. That they were powerless. They then sent us to customer service who never answered or returned our call.
We then called the local back and left a lot, of messages, but one day he did get the local manager, who told us to talk to the "district manager". Again, always voicemail. Now that I have seen the other reviews, I wish I had checked them out on consumer affairs to begin with. Because then I would have seen the pattern that has occurred with at least half of the reviews on this site. I know these people are right, because I have lived this nightmare too.

August 4, 2023. Yesterday we went to our Public Storage on 10126 Potranco to put up some things. We tried to open our unit, but to our surprise it was said if we wanted she can give us new key set. Well why wouldn’t we, were paying for the storage and now she is the only one to have access to our unit. We asked why they changed our key, her response was our unit was opened and they put a new one. They never called us, so we could check our unit if anything was missing. And she responded that they have had a lot of new employees and they forgot to note it in our account. But she knew what key to bring and open our unit. When she open our unit the lock that was popped out was there in clear vision, they knew and fail us tenants.
We notice things missing and things scattered. We said we have been robbed. She said she was not aware of any robberies. But other unit holders were told they had to make police reports, this was on July 31, 1 on August 2, 2023 and us on the the 3rd. Six to 8 reports were made, how can she stand there and say she’s not aware of any robberies. Plus I am trying to find more reports. We were stopped by another unit member that their facility were robbed too, but company had no knowledge of this. Unit 224 also was robbed, next to ours.
Followed employee to her office so she can input notes on their computer. But did not call the police, she said we had to do that on our own. But these thieves broke in to their units and they make no report. Sounds very fishy to me. Notice, I believe six monitors of security around facility behind her. I mention that they have access to view their video. She quickly responded that they don’t always work. Mentioned to her that 2 Sunday back, I and another 5 people could not enter facility.
Called their number and left all my information to call me back. I had traveled 20 miles to their facility to leave things in my unit. 5 minutes went by and call we called the care phone number and left a very lengthy message with all my Information for return call. Until this date no one has returned my call. I left a message before with a quick call back. She could not answer that question.
Called police to make a report, then list all items that I remember that taken. Then the detective will ask for security footage. I’m sure they won’t have any. And they have fail to have security cameras working to protect them and our units. Called we care number 866-247-6620 and 855-8349720, talked to Letty, explain all my concerns, robbery. She acted like she was not aware, but I wanted someone that was management from their corporate to call me back to answer all my questions & concern why they fail a unit owners. They offer free or 50% off to new customers and then very good rates going forward, but just as you get settled in, they will often increase your price. Only good for short term. We have been there over 2 years and just got increased again. We are paying double what new customers are paying. I would think they would give long term customers some kind of incentive for staying, but I feel like they would rather we leave, so they could rent the unit I pay $178 monthly for to someone else for $124. It's definitely time to find a different storage solution that we can trust not to constantly increase prices.

The manager at the time was right there to witness this event. I had their useless insurance on the unit as well. I reported this to insurance and that was the start of a long series of I don't knows, hang ups, transfers to different depts, and basically my being felt like they just wanted me to go away. Today is July 29, 2023 and as of today I have not been paid a single dime for my loss as a result of renting a storage area at Public Storage. There is no description of the unit size other than 4'x5' but when we started moving in I realized things were not going to fit as we planned, because the unit is only 4'x4'4". That makes a difference of 13% of the space lost. That makes a big difference when you are trying to squeeze everything into a small space. They have a large sign that says WE CARE and says the District Manager's contact information is available in the rental office, except the on-site person didn't even know who the District Manager is. Rats, Rats, And More Rats! No Kidding! I would love to give minus stars... if these were rats instead of stars, I'd give 50... rats? Well... yes... considering rats had invaded my storage unit! I have been paying for that unit for 2 years. It is supposed to be climate controlled... I guess for Florida, 90 degrees is the climate... because that's how hot it was in there the day I went to empty my space.
In addition, and to my horror, when we opened the space (that has no interior light), and the movers began pulling out my belongings, we saw overwhelming evidence that there had been rats in my unit for some time... feces and urine covered everything. And when they brought the pieces home, and took the blankets off that had been covering my furniture, more rat feces... but now it had been brought into my home. Not only was there feces and urine, but the rats had chewed into some of my boxes, but worse, into my solid wood furniture!
Wait... it gets worse, when I went to the front office to tell them... they told me they knew about the rats. The manager was busy doing an inventory of the empty units to see where there was evidence of rat activity - and they had already put out traps for them - so they knew there were rats in the facility for at least a week or two and did nothing to notify their customers who had belongings in locked units!
So for two years, I paid for climate control that did not exist - and provided a lovely living space for rats that ruined so much. The manager even admitted to me that the place needed to be shut down... I’m not kidding "this place needs to be completely shut down"... whaaattt? And none of your existing customers were notified?!
One smaller note is that I actually had 2 units - one at this location and one at another about a mile away. The second location was kept up nicely... however... both places put out that their offices open at 9:30... We waited at the decent location until almost noon - I called the corporate number and the local number numerous times and was never able to reach anyone to help us. So, not only do their facilities suck, but so does their customer service!

I would not suggest this facility. I made a reservation here for my daughter's Toyota Camry to be stored for the summer while she is home from college. I called Public Storage and was told there would be no problem with the car fitting in the 10 x 20 unit. Well, as it turns out the gate to get in is not 10 feet wide. It is only 7.5 feet wide which means we can't get the car in without damaging the side mirrors. We made the reservation based upon this incorrect information - which according to PS allows them to charge us this $29 administration fee. Again, if they had not given us incorrect information, we would not have made the reservation.
I understand completely that mistakes happen - HOWEVER - I as a customer should not be out $29 for your mistake. I told them that they can pull the call where I was given the wrong information but they refused. I have now had to dispute it with our credit card company and also reached out to Public Storage multiple times via phone and email and frankly, they could care less. I spoke with a man named Brisco today who made no apology and just said he would send it to collections. They provide no maintenance. Both the winters of 2022 & 2023, I could not open my unit because it was frozen. Most importantly safety is nonexistent. Recently a creepy guy drove up to my unit; he did not have a unit. So how did he get in? He came into my unit & he started trying on different items. When he tried a hat, he demanded that I give him the hat. I told him 'No.' No one else was around. Recently, the exit gate was opened for 5 hours. Anyone could come in.
