A friend of mine had used American Van Lines and he had a good experience. I used them as well for a 10 miles move and the coordinator did great. The movers did a good job and were thorough. The crew that came and picked us up was amazing. We’ve moved four times but we couldn’t have done the job that they did. We have about 85% of everything packed up already. They helped pack some of the tool cases. We had those locked up and they wrapped them up. The delivery crew was a bit late but it was only because they had to go to another job and they got out of there a little late, but it wasn’t a big deal. I had a great experience overall.

I moved 15 miles and I was very pleased with American Van Lines. I would recommend them to anyone moving. The rep was cordial and everything that I wanted. He was very good and knew everything. During the move, the crew was very nice and we had a good time talking to one another. I supplied them with water and I couldn’t believe that they moved in such a quick time.

I had a new job in Kansas, so we moved from Indiana. The two coordinators at American Van Lines were really helpful and they gave us a good idea of what we would be experiencing, what we needed to do and what the moving company would do. They prepared us pretty well for what we would experience. The driver was like the boss and he was a little frustrated because he was short-handed and he expected to have more people helping than he had. Besides himself, there were two other people. Later, a third person showed up but that person only worked for a few minutes, then he complained about his back so he would take a cigarette break. At some point, he stopped working altogether and he was trying to solicit us to pay him to do yard work or do some things around the house. He was talking behind their back about keeping an eye on them because of stuff walking away. He was a little sketchy and we didn't see him after the afternoon.

The rep from American Van Lines came to the house to give me the estimate and looked around. He asked me questions about the eight-mile move and offered some wardrobe boxes. He was very professional and very nice. The crew worked hard all day until late at night. I told them numerous times to take a break. Once in a while, I handed them water because it was so hot. They said thank you and kept on working. I never saw them take a break, not even for lunch. They did a good job and nothing broke. They wrapped every single piece of furniture in those clothes they had and with the shrink wrap so nothing was scratched. I was very pleased with their work. We moved before using a different company, and this was a big difference. American Van Lines was outstanding. They are a company to recommend and if I ever move again, I will call them.

Communication was difficult and staff doesn’t talk to each other. You need to keep schedule open for a 4 day period and get possibly 24 hours notice about the time frame of move. Of this 4 day period you have to stay open for they give you a 3 hour period I assumed the move would be done during. On pickup and delivery company was over an hour and half late without any communication beforehand and lame “traffic” excuses when they arrive. Once the movers actually arrived they were pleasant and very efficient but the whole process was a mess.

I called American Van Lines and told their coordinator about my short move. I described what I needed and she helped me get exactly what I needed. It was a simple interaction and I felt at ease with the way she was explaining everything. There was a short timeframe for my move and I did everything over the phone. Then, everything was good with the crew that came. I was comfortable about the way that they handled things before transporting it to about 7 miles away. I heard about American Van Lines through a friend and I'd absolutely tell friends to call them too.

We were moving to a different retirement place in South Carolina from our place in Florida. Our real estate agent suggested that we use American Van Lines. We contacted a service salesperson first, then we had a coordinator that coordinated most of the move. All in all, it was a good experience. We're in a community, so it was a little bit more difficult to get to our location but the move worked out well. It was seamless and hassle-free and it didn't result in any additional work for us. American Van Lines gave us a window in which they expected the goods to be delivered to our new home and they were within that window. It worked within our schedule and it did not take any more time than we had initially expected. The moving crew was very good as well. They put together the furniture appropriately in the right area and it didn’t take too long. The cost was reasonable too. I would recommend American Van Lines.

I liked the person I was talking to at American Van Lines so I went ahead and got their services for the move from Dallas, Texas to Florida. The moving coordinator was very helpful and informative. She answered all my questions and followed through with everything she told me. The crew men were fabulous too. American Van Lines has been wonderful. Anytime I've had a question or needed to know something, they have been right on top of it. My stuff’s in storage now and they’re gonna move me one more time. I would recommend them very highly to anybody who moves.

We found American Van Lines when we did a web research and looked at the online reviews. We contacted them and the customer service rep was very good. She was instrumental in our signing up with them for our move because of her professionalism and how nice she was. She responded in a very timely manner to any phone conversations and email communications that we had. The crew was awesome, top-notch and outstanding during our move. They handled all of our items and furniture, and we did not have any breakage at all. I had moved all of my consumer electronics, such as the TVs, computers and electronic devices, before they moved our other things. We had a really good move and our experience with them was very positive from A to Z. I would highly recommend American Van Lines to people that need a transport company to move them with quality.

I looked around for a transport service when I was moving within the state for work and American Van Lines had really good reviews on the Better Business Bureau. I filled out the surveys online and that was all really good. My interactions with the moving consultant were good too. The reps were thorough and responsive. I got somebody quickly on the phone and they were able to give me an estimate in a good amount of time. The moving crew that I worked with was really good as well. They were very polite and hardworking. American Van Lines is a good moving company and I would recommend them.

I was relocating two hours away from where I live and after I did a comparison between two other transport companies, American Van Lines turned out to be the most reasonable in price. During the initial setup, the coordinator I dealt with was very professional, fast and efficient. Then the consultant explained everything to me and made sure I had everything that I needed. American Van Lines' productivity was very good. Everything arrived good and intact.

I sold my house and downsized. I was moving to a new home within a mile or two away and I heard about American Van Lines through the listing service that I used to list my home. Their rep Bryan came to the house, evaluated the situation, and came up with a quote, which was fair. It was great. Then, he brought over some boxes and some stuff because it was part of the pre-negotiated deal with the listing service that I used. And he was super friendly.

Moving is a very stressful experience, especially if using a large interstate moving company. Moving 45 years of household goods and memories makes it even harder. After reading the reviews about American Van Lines I was sure that they would take care of us. I made lots of phone calls to my "personal mover" - I am betting I made a big nuisance of myself - my go-to person never made me feel like I was bothering them. If I had to leave a message, they called me back. AVL is a HUGE company that makes you feel like you are their only customer. Our driver Chuck stayed in contact with us and was very helpful in more ways than one (as well as the office personnel). Were there a couple of glitches... yes. But in the end, AVL came thru with everything they said they would. Bottom line, if we ever have to move again, I would use this company. I like the personal service!

I was moving from Half Moon Bay, California, to Tucson. At the time, I was looking for a long distance mover with good ratings and I decided to work with American Van Lines. Their rep and I stayed in constant contact. We had to change our moving date and every time I called them they were very accommodating. Their rep was very honest and would send us estimates. She supplied us with all the documents of what they can and cannot take. She also answered all our questions and specified in detail what kind of places the trucks can go into. Also, we are renting a house now and we were thinking we would have them pick up our stuff and keep it in storage until our house is completed. Their rep told us they could do that but it would get very expensive. So, instead, we will just call them again when we move to our new house.

Our moving coordinator from American Van Lines was very informative and scheduled everything that was needed. The rep who helped us plan the details of the move told us everything we needed to know and gave us a fair quote, so we were happy with him. The move went smoothly and the moving crew was very good. The only complaint they had was that there were more stuff than what they were told. They were thinking that they could have come with a smaller truck based on what was told. They ended up bringing the larger truck, which was good, but it was filled to the brim. Everything was safe, so it was good. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines.

I was moving out of state and needed a van line. I went online and had some people come and give me estimates, but the great reviews that American Van Lines had prompted me to go with them. Initially, I had great interactions with my moving coordinator. But, I tried to get back to her at one point and I had a hard time. So I called the main number and have them transferred me to her phone. After that, it was okay. They kept in touch with me. The movers were excellent. There were two guys. They packed my my furniture up in New Jersey. I really loved that they were the same guys that were going to deliver my stuff here in Virginia. That put me at rest because I was really nervous about my stuff being lost or damaged. Knowing that they were gonna drive it down was great.

We sold our home in New Jersey and we became more permanent residents of Florida. My son had used American Van Lines several times and recommended them. Their rep was excellent. He gave very detailed information and excellent follow-up. He was very thorough and easily accessible. From beginning to end, it took five days. They exceeded expectations. The communication with the driver was very good. The pickup took a little longer because we had used an elevator. Other than that, they were very efficient and thorough. It took them no time to off-load everything into our home. A container or two got a little dented but nothing inside was damaged. We've recommended them to friends.

American Van Lines was the best-priced from the other moving companies I looked into as they were half the price of what everybody else wanted to charge me. I also read reviews and then figured to go with them. The coordinator I worked with was excellent. He wasn’t aware that we had a time limit because I was moving into a condo, and we had to be done by 4 o’clock. When he got there, he didn’t think that we could do it, but we all worked together and finished right on time. Their movers were very hard workers as well. They were prompt and knew exactly what they were doing. Each person from American Van Lines was great and I was very happy with them.

We were moving from Asheville to Charlotte and I researched on the web. I found that American Van Lines has good reviews and once I got the estimate, the cost was better than some of the other places. The rate as well as planning with the rep were very good. The stuff leading up to the move was also great, but when you're planning a move and you've got people coming into your old house, you got a contract on the new apartment to live in and you plan a move time to get there. However, the truck was two days late. AVL kept telling us the driver was gonna be there any minute, but they didn't explain why. Clearly, there was miscommunication about when the guy was gonna arrive.

Everyone that I dealt with from American Van Lines was very helpful, courteous, and answered my questions. This is my first move on my own and I was a little skeptical at first. I read some of their reviews and some of them weren't good and that's what gave me the skepticism if I made the right decision on the right company, but I had no problems with American Van Lines.

Some time back, we were downsizing. We had sold our three-bedroom home and bought a two-bedroom condo and we had to get rid of a lot of stuff. I had a man who used to come and pick up stuff I would donate for the Breast Cancer Society and he recommended American Van Lines to me. I went with the company and the rep whom I worked with was excellent. He was on top of everything and called us regularly. If we needed more boxes, he brought some over.

I relocated all the way to Louisiana from North Carolina and had American Van Lines' service. We had been told a certain day and a certain window for what was gonna happen. We had everything packed. The guys were happy about that, other than we had to mark everything and some items had to be taken apart and in special bagging, but we had everything boxed and ready to go. Until they got there, everything was not stressful, and they just made it very, very stressful.

I had a bad experience with movers in the past. I was moving due to work and I didn't wanna go through it again, so I went online to research and find good reviews and what customers are saying about movers doing interstate moving. I found American Van Lines to be highly rated, so I contacted them. They surprised me when I signed up because they said it would be American Van Lines that would do the move, but they pulled a last-minute on me saying that it was gonna be a contractor. I told them they needed to send me someone from American Van Lines because that was what I signed up for.

I moved from my house to a condo and somebody recommended American Van Lines to me. I looked at a few other companies and they seemed to be the better price. Also, the people who used them were satisfied with them. The rep assisted me by phone and the interactions with the driver were good. However, they seemed to think that I told them a lot less than what I really had, which wasn't quite true.

We retired and we moved from Austin to Phoenix. My husband was trying to find some van lines that have good ratings. American Van Lines seemed to be about the highest rated one. The reps were great. They were very thorough and any time we had changes, they were very accommodating. They also answered any questions that we had. It was a very good experience overall. Also, we were absolutely astonished at how good, professional, and efficient the crew was. It was a shock because so many reviews online, not at this company but of other companies, described their moving experience and it was just an absolute nightmare. And we had the crew from heaven. Leading up to it, they didn’t put a scratch on anything. They were careful about the move-in and just made sure they didn’t ding anything in the house. It was like they were packing up their own stuff. They were really amazing.

My experience with American Van Lines was great. When my husband and I purchased an apartment, the seller was giving us the furniture and we had to pay for the moving of the furniture from Naples to Delray. The seller arranged for the fairly large move which involved several beds, couches and sofas. It was a two-bedroom apartment. The seller was there during the move and according to her, everything went smoothly.

I had a really easy experience with American Van Lines. I moved to a bigger apartment 50 miles from my old one and my coordinator was really good from the beginning to the end. He gave me all the answers I needed and he helped me through it all. We had a video call and he helped me figure out how many boxes I needed and how hard it would be to move, which was nice. Also, I had really good interactions with the crew. I had everything packed and ready for them and they did a good job.

I had to do two moves for both my house and my condo. Jeremy, who I sat next to in a jury box and works for American Van Lines, gave me his card and I called him and got it done. I was put in contact with Allan, a relocation specialist, who came out to conduct the estimate. Then I spoke with Jeremy again. It all went seamlessly. Allan was perfect and very understanding. We worked well. When he came out to do the estimate he answered all my questions, got the move arranged and executed and then he followed up. I needed some extra boxes and he came by my house and brought them. I also had a good, positive experience with the driver. I was very satisfied with American Van Lines.

Be careful regarding damage to property - do not expect satisfaction on a claim. My wife chose American Van Lines based on the reviews she saw - "let's go with #1." We spent 37 years in the Marine Corps and have moving experience, so we are not new to a cross country move. The pack up and loading was fine. Contact with the driver and tracking the truck was a problem, and we were not able to schedule the delivery as originally planned.

We bought a new house and American Van Lines was recommended by our real estate agent. Their reps were very helpful and they immediately answered any questions we had. We loaded two rooms. It was a two-bedroom condo and the move was about 10 miles. The entire move took about half a day. All of the moving crew were professional and they handled our stuff very nicely. The move went as smooth as I could hope.

I went online and looked at different moving companies. I read a lot of reviews, all kinds of reviews, and then I called American Van Lines and asked for a quote. I also called other companies but I decided that American Van Lines was the best of what I found. My experience with their reps on the phone was fine. The movers were great as well. They were very professional. They took a lot of time to wrap everything very well. Their overall productivity was great too. It was really hot and they were sweating in working very hard. They did lose a piece of furniture though and I filed a claim but I never heard anything back. That’s the only thing that would have been nice to have a follow-up on.

I sold a house with an area of 1700 sq. ft. and bought another one of equal size. I needed a moving service and I learned about American Van Lines through my real estate broker. Then I met with this fellow and he set it all up. It was very easy and the consultant I worked with was very knowledgeable. The moving crew was wonderful as well and their productivity was excellent. It was a team of three with Jonana, Brian and another fellow. They were very quick and organized. The move took a few hours, but it was very well done. We had 60 boxes or so and furniture. We also moved some of the boxes to another location but that house didn’t have any furniture. All the furniture went to one place. So, there were two stops. All in all, I would recommend American Van Lines. They were very professional and very efficient.

Everything went very, very smoothly with American Van Lines. We moved 200 miles away, and we had a fine experience with their rep who helped plan our move. I had most things packed and the crew came in to pack up some of the other things. The crew here was good, but not as good as the one in Miami but close. I’ll reuse American Van Lines again for a business deal. My experience with them was beyond expectations, which was what I wanted.

I was moving from Houston to Phoenix and it needed to be done. American Van Lines' rep was awesome and their moving crew was good. Though all they did was load our belongings onto the truck, it was a good move nonetheless.

Working with the reps from American Van Lines was a good experience for me. They were fairly nice and they answered all my questions. While I was a bit concerned about giving people my credit card information, they seemed pretty good about everything. The only problem that came up was that a week before I was supposed to move, they said that they didn't know if they would have a truck available for me and that they might need to have a third party handle the truck portion. Additionally, they said that this was fairly standard in their industry so I was a bit nervous about that. In the end, it turned out that they had a truck available so nothing changed.

We researched the different places online and we got different prices but American Van Lines was the most reasonable. Also, their rep was very helpful. He had a good knowledge of the process and procedures. The moving crew did a good job. However, we had to wait until the furniture got down there. It was a little delayed because the crew had other people they had to pick up with in reference to the furniture. But it was fine. There were stuff I discovered later like some slight scratches on the furniture but it wasn't anything dire. American Van Lines was very good.

My mother had passed away and I was emptying her house. So, I had some furniture that I was bringing to my home. I used American Van Lines to move them and I had a good experience. The crew arrived on time and they were very nice and helpful. They took care in moving things; protected things.

American Van Lines called me when they saw my email and I let them be my person. The guy who called me was from Florida and having told him that I didn't need anybody to be moving me from there, he said that they would send someone out from Greensboro to talk to me. So this lady rep came out and we chatted and I told her the plan to move me whenever we got around to it. I told the movers that they had to be really careful with my grandfather clock and how things were moved in before. I had a hospital bed and I told one of the guys to remember how he would have taken it apart because I didn't know how to put it back together. And he didn't take the bed apart. Instead, he wrapped it and stood it up in the truck. That was amazing to me.

I previously moved with several other movers and this time, I googled other companies to avoid another bad experience. American Van Lines had really great reviews on them, so I went with them. My experience with their moving coordinator was fabulous. His name is Harold and he was extremely professional and comprehensive. He was also very good at communicating and was great to work with. He quoted me on two different moves because I moved across the country and I also moved some furniture across the country from a separate home. I didn't use American Van Lines for the first one, though, and I had an awful experience with that mover.

Called on July 30 to get a quote from FL to CA, agent notified me that there's a 50% deposit, but not mentioned anything about it being not refundable and I was charged right after the call, even before receiving the contract. Also, I was told during the call that the pickup date will be Aug. 3 to Aug. 5, delivery window Aug. 6 to Aug. 28 and I should get an update for both pickup and delivery on Wednesday. Got an email from a Quality Assurance Manager on Tuesday, replied an hour later with some questions (about 3 pm), no response. Called with the direct extension, no response.

I used this company for my move from Florida to New Jersey at the end of 2017. Things took a change and I had to move back down again so when we did the estimate over the phone I sent them the bill and inventory list of the previous move. I expected some difference in the cost as I had gotten rid of some things, added others and depending on availability at the time I needed the move. The final invoice was $1200 over the estimate!!

Frustrated with AVL. They picked up 6/23. On 6/6 the office said they had no word from driver so would call back on Monday. Sunday I get a call from driver that he’ll be here the next day at 1:00. Ok, even though I wasn’t expecting it, it would work out. Around 2:30 the next day I finally called the driver and he said he was still far away and he couldn’t get here til 6.

My daughter used American Van Lines several years ago when she moved from Illinois to Virginia and she recommended them. The moving coordinator came and surveyed what needed to be done, gave recommendations, provided boxes and tape, and then other things that we required. He maintained contact to be sure that everything was going as expected. The packers also did a wonderful job and were very professional and thorough. They provided all of the necessary and even helped with things that I was not absolutely sure of as to what direction it should go. It was a good experience.

The moving coordinator from American Van Lines was very thorough and very easy to work with. She understood our situation and did what she said what she was gonna do. I had two different crews come because part of my stuff was going to an apartment and part of it was going to storage, so there was a lot of activity. On a whole, everything was excellent.

American Van Lines was frequently touching base to make sure that we were ready to go with the move dates and that we knew how the process was gonna happen. It was thorough communication. One person was in contact with us about all the items in the house and as far as knowing how big of a truck to get and that all worked out great. We knew that we should over-estimate rather than under, so they were clear that it would be by weight and not by items, so it was good. The people during the move were great. We weren’t here when our stuff arrived but the loading process and the driver were great. That day was lickety-split. They had it really well done. American Van Lines did their end of the deal really well. I would tell other people to use them and I already have.

We were moving from Texas to Arizona. We were going home. And our son, who is an attorney, did some investigating about the different van lines and found out that American Van Lines is a decent organization. Their customer service was okay and there was a lot of phone calls back and forth with our moving coordinator. American Van Lines didn't give a quote, but there was a minimum and if you go overweight, then you pay so much more. They'll give you a firm quote, but then if you don't make that weight, you still have to pay that price. And once we signed the papers saying we were going with American, the guy we initially contacted gave us to somebody else. And they did okay and we got the move done.

American Van Lines doesn't have a local representative in the San Antonio area, so working with their moving coordinator had to be done by phone. It would have been helpful if somebody could have come out and looked at my property. Also, they underestimated the packaging that we would need. Otherwise, my move from Texas to Nevada went fine. The folks that came out to do the packing were there and the company in Florida was able to help coordinate all the times. They made sure that everybody was there when they were supposed to be and it all worked out well. They did a good job.

I had a great experience with American Van Lines. Our daughter lives in Bradenton, Florida and we were in Roseville, California. We're getting older so she asked us to come and move closer. We haven't moved in 36 years so I had to find the best company out there. I went to ConsumerAffairs and they rated them as the top one, so I called them. The first person that spoke with was Steven and he was very nice. And then Teresa called all the other times and she was very, very nice to us as well. Every question that we had, they answered. I had to tell them that I had more household items to move and they just accommodated me.

American Van Lines had good customer service. I talked to the people on the phone and I liked the way they handled things. They seemed very professional and so, I went with them. I also really had a good time talking to the crew during the move. Everything was wonderful.

We’ve moved numerous times going cross-country, but the whole experience on our move with American Van Lines was very good. My husband and I were moving back to Texas which is our home state for my husband's job. I worked with Brian who came out and gave me an estimate. He came out about four times because I sold some furniture as there were some stuff I decided not to take and to make sure that we were right on target with the cost.

I liked American Van Lines' moving coordinator. She kept me well-informed and answered all my questions. Their driver was great and their crew was nice as as well. However, when we got to unpacking, we discovered that two bottles of my husband’s medicine were missing. Also one of the legs was broken off my grandfather’s antique tobacco stand which is a little table on four legs. I left a message for Nicole from American Van Lines and someone else who called me back said that they were going to report my issue to somebody somewhere. Though I'm still missing medicine that cannot be replaced, I still loved their driver. He was very professional and funny. I thought he did a good job as he got everything to me on time.

I actually used the Consumer Affairs reviews to decide to call American Van Lines for a move from Missouri to Oregon. I had a good experience talking with "Keith" who took all my information and inventory of belongings. I was downsizing, selling much before the move and had minimal belongs left. I was quoted $3800 and satisfied with that quote, proceeded to make the reservation. I was told a contract would be sent and they needed a credit card number for the contract down payment, which I gave. The next day, before the contract was emailed to me, I was called by Keith and told that "sorry, too bad," but prices were raised beginning on the date I needed, and it would now be $5,000. I said, "DO NOT PROCEED, do not charge my credit card," and Keith agreed that he would not. I called a few other companies and all quoted $3800, so this is apparently an industry standard for a minimal shipment this distance.

Customer service at American Van Lines seemed to be pretty good. They got everything organized and they were there on time and they were courteous. They sent follow-up emails and receipts, so everything was documented online. The moving crew was very efficient. They got us moved really fast in less time than they quoted, so I saved a little money. And that was a nice surprise. American Van Lines did a good job. They followed up with me ahead of time and let me check off all the stuff that we had to move so they knew what we were moving. And they had a big enough truck and people to help move. I was pretty satisfied.

American Van Lines was exceptional and everything was top of the line. Everybody was great and friendly. I was on a cross-country move from Florida all the way to Nevada and the movers handled everything exceptionally. They were all very nice people.

I'd recommend American Van Lines. The type of service that I was gonna receive from them sounded better than other places that I checked out. My moving consultant was great and pleasant to work with. The crew that I had during the move was great, too. They did the things I asked them, and they went out of their way to accommodate me.

I was having a 300-mile move from the center of the state to the coast. It’s about a four-hour drive. From the time we signed the contract with American Van Lines, we had a coordinator told us when they’d be there and the guys called me when they were in route to be at my house for the pickup. And then they called me when they were just about an hour out from delivery. The moving coordinator was a very knowledgeable and a super guy to talk to on the phone, and his negotiation worked out. Then those guys that did the move were fast. They loaded me up one day and then they brought it down the next day. Nothing’s damaged. It was a very pleasant experience. And I’ve already recommended them to my neighbor.

I was very apprehensive about this big move from Florida to Texas but all the people I spoke with at American Van Lines were supportive and reacted quickly to my questions. My furniture and boxes arrived on time and in good condition. The movers were courteous and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone contemplating a move.

American Van Lines did arrive and load my household items on the second date promised. The driver and movers provided awesome service and completed the loading task in a very timely manner. My household items arrived at the requested destination on the time requested. Again the driver (same one that picked up my items) movers provided great service. We have found a few items that have been damaged during the move and working with the Claims Department regarding this matter. American Van Lines did provide a compensation on the final billing to make up for the first missed pick up date. Should I have to move again I would contact American Van Lines.

I was very satisfied with my move with American Van Lines and we probably would be using them for our future moves because of what we experienced. They’ve called us many times to make sure we got the information through email, through call. So it was well. The actual hands-on guys, the movers, did really good too. They knew what they were doing, and seemed experience and strong enough to carry what we had. They were on time and did everything really fast and efficient.

I wanted to get out of the northeast cold and come into the tropics. I needed a moving service, so I searched online. I got a link to the website of American Van Lines through ConsumerAffairs and I liked that American Van Lines didn’t use contractors. They were their own company and they had people they worked with all over the country. Plus, once I started looking around and getting other quotes, American Van Lines' customer service was amazing compared to other companies. So, I went them. The moving coordinator that I worked with was very responsive and sent stuff over to me right away via email for me to look over. He was great as opposed to the one who interviewed me who just kept saying, “Fill out this sheet and I’ll call you back.” He spent a lot of time with me and told me to go through every room and tell him what I saw. He was really cool.

Scam and unethical people to deal with. Avoid hiring them for your move. I am sure you will NOT bother to contact them after you read our ordeal. I am disappointed that this portal doesn’t allow me to rate them on negative stars. We went around shopping for quote planning our move from Pittsburgh PA to California CA. We live in a 3-bedroom townhome and after a proper video screening our entire home, with this esteemed – American Van Lines company gave us a quote of 8,800$ and plus at the max it would go up to 20% higher from the initial estimate. On believing this lie, I proceed with hiring them. We paid half of our moving fee at least by a month in advance and just 4 days before the moving window, we receive the note saying that they do not have a truck to support this move. They said that they will refund and requested us to proceed with other vendors.

I liked the idea that American Van Lines would do the pickup with a small truck. The location was another reason I chose them. The moving coordinator that I worked with was knowledgeable and efficient, and everything worked out good. I had a special request to have my wife sign off at the pickup end so I did a power of attorney for that and then I was at the other end for the delivery. I had a one-man crew and he was very good. It was quite efficient in terms of time. I've had crews of four and they usually still fool around in the afternoon. But he got done in a couple of hours. It wasn't a huge load but he went back and forth, did the whole thing himself and got through very quickly.

Our experience with American Van Lines was good except for the fact that they kept changing people that I had to talk to all the time. So, I never really got to develop a rapport with anybody and if I had a question or a problem, I didn’t know who to call. When I did have an issue, I’d always have to go through one person, and then they would say I’d have to get a hold of somebody else, and then they would have to call me back. So, it’s a long process. Other than that, the crew was excellent. They were on time during pick up and delivery, and they called me before they were gonna deliver. They also loaded and unloaded everything really well.

I was moving from Idaho to Illinois for work and I had good and bad experience with American Van Lines's moving coordinator. I felt they were really, really thorough, but they made some mistakes. The guy told us that once we've paid for the piano boards, it would be ours. And then, when we first went to take it before the piano company was there to put it back together, it turned out it wasn’t ours.

The lease on my apartment ran out and I decided not to renew it. I thought I could go month-to-month but the owner sold it in two days. So I had to find a place to go and I had to go immediately. I was moving about 190 miles and it seemed easier to use the moving service than it was for me to try and have to do it myself. Everything was great when I dealt with the moving coordinator at American Van Lines and although the crew was about an hour late on one end, it was explainable. And other than that, they were fine.

We moved across country, from Maryland to Arizona, and we had our stuff catch up with us a couple of years later. We were moving from a storage unit and I had everything packed in there tight. When I called around, some said they would have to come out for an estimate. But I wasn't at the source side, which was back in Maryland. Secondly, I was not sure how much they could've looked at 'cause it was also packed in the storage unit. Nobody would give me an estimate but American Van Lines did. That aside, everything seemed to go smoothly with them. The moving coordinator did a good job keeping me informed. When I had things to contact him about, he resolved them real quickly.

Everybody from American Van Lines that we dealt with was pleasant. They were efficient, showed up on time, and their rate was certainly comparable to the couple other companies we looked at. Their packing and loading were flawless. In other words, there was not a single scratch or damage to any of the stuff that I sent out to my son. But about two months after they completed the move, we were startled to know that the load had weighed differently than what they had anticipated. So we got a refund of about $600. A lot of companies would just keep it. I'm 75 years old and I've moved about 17 times in my life and this is the best experience I've ever had.

American Van Lines did a good, quick job and I had a good experience with them. My dealings with them were mostly done over the phone, so that was convenient. The moving coordinator was wonderful. During the move, the crew was exceptional. They got the job done really quick and they put everything where they were supposed to be.

I was getting away from hurricanes and American Van Lines' moving coordinator was excellent. He had all the information I needed. He instilled a great deal of confidence and he knew what he was talking about. He was also the one who provided the boxes and the one I asked questions about packing, what they could pack, what I should pack. The moving crew was very good, very efficient and very polite. The only slight drawback was that on the receiving end, there were only two workers. And that meant they had to work really hard and were getting worn out by the end. There’s a point where you need three people. Nonetheless, my experience with American Van Lines was very good.

I was moving about 270 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina to Hilton Head, South Carolina. I was considering four companies but I had a good conversation with American Van Lines on the phone and they seemed very honest. So, I went with them and they were very good. They went over everything and sent me an inventory list. They also gave me an estimated price which was right on. So, things worked very smoothly and and the whole move took one day. The four men who came out and helped me during the actual move were very professional. They were easy to talk with and I spent a lot of time with them. They knew what they were doing and they did a great job.

I had gotten several bids from different companies, and American Van Lines' was better than the others. We were very satisfied with our move. We were very impressed with the people we were involved with, particularly the driver and his helper. They did a very good and thorough job. They worked hard, and everything got up to our destination unbroken.

The moving coordinator from American Van Lines was very good. The move was 2,500 miles. I was a little disappointed because it took very long, which I didn't care about. But they told me it was coming on a big truck and it came on a small truck. The guy told me the truck broke down. They had to take my stuff off the truck and put it on another truck. Some of the stuff was damaged and a box was missing, which were not really urgent to me. But they came at 7:00 o'clock at night, which I’m lucky that where I live they let them in. But the moving crew was very nice.

American Van Lines had the best price, but they didn’t follow through my request as far as when they were going to contact me. They’re on the East Coast, and we’re in the Midwest and I only work until 4:30. And they were leaving me messages about deliverymen picking up stuff the next morning at 7 o’clock their time and we had a big problem with that because I had to reach out to the person.

The movers from American Van Lines were awesome and super nice. Loading their van up and then unloading it was probably less than an hour. It was overall a good experience.

My mother was moving and I helped her handle the whole thing. Everybody from American Van Lines was very helpful. They were hardworking, very polite, and eager to please. Everything was excellent in every way.

I love the ease of moving with American Van Lines. Everyone was great from the coordinator to the movers and to all the teams that put together the crates. They seemed very experienced. I didn’t really have to do much and didn’t have to put much thought into anything. They took care of everything.

American Van Lines was recommended by our real estate agent in South Florida. I talked to the moving coordinator a couple of times, and she talked to various people during the whole affair, but it all worked out well. The moving crew was really good too. I would recommend American Van Lines to anyone.

The people who picked up the furniture and did the delivery were excellent. American Van Lines was okay in terms of moving the stuff in and out, but their communication was not too good. We just got the runaround when we tried to schedule delivery or to get any information. Also, the people on the phone had an attitude and they could be a little more polite.

I had to talk to a couple of companies that do interstate moving and American Van Lines were pretty good priced and their reputation is good. The coordinator was very good and helpful. And the people who moved us were very professional. They helped us a lot. So we had a very good experience. They packed up a lot of the kitchen stuff and did a very good job. We didn’t have any damage.

The American Van Lines rep that I talked to over the phone was very pleasant. Everybody that I worked with, including the driver, was wonderful. But they were always late and they were never there when they said they were gonna be. When they came to get my stuff the first time, they were supposed to be there Thursday afternoon. At 6:00, I called the office because I haven't heard from anybody. They said the truck had to stop for the night and the driver would arrive in the morning. I didn't know that the truck had to stop and nobody bothered to tell me they weren't coming until the next day. I asked them the time that the truck would arrive and the rep told me that I was first on the list. I was in the house at 8:00 but the truck got there by 11:00.

I was moving from Michigan to Virginia and I wanted to see which moving companies would give a veteran a military discount. The moving coordinator from American Van Lines gave me a lot of good information so he did a very good job. I had the weight of my belongings and he took it from there and it was a pretty smooth process. I ended up paying a little bit more, which was okay because I had more boxes than I thought I had. But he was really helpful with breaking down the rate. He was really up-close for anything that I had to do. Also, the move was great. When night came, the movers had to pack everything I had for me because I had a lot of my personal belongings already packed in boxes. They did everything they were supposed to do. They tagged all the furniture, shrink-wrapped what they had to shrink-wrap and brought boxes where they had to bring boxes.

The person I worked with was very nice and accommodating. He was thorough in what he was talking about. They were also very good and efficient in their packing, and there was nothing broken. I moved about 1300 miles from Florida to Texas, and they were also organized and efficient when they moved. But they didn't give me enough time to tell me when the furniture was gonna be delivered. I wasn’t there at the time and my sister was the one making arrangements to be there at the house. I asked for two or three days and they said, “Sure, sure. No problem.”

AVL refunded $750 for the items left behind.

I did a web research on moving companies and I picked American Van Lines since I recalled them from some other interaction. Overall, everything went fine with the service they provided. There was a little bit of damage to a dining room table which I didn’t bother reporting to them. But as far as I can tell, everything made it and there was no significant loss of any kind along the way. Also, the American Van Lines people were good to work with. I was present at both the packing and the unpacking, and I assisted during the entire process. But I expected something a little better in the inventory management area as they were not very thorough in accurately representing the inventory. Nevertheless, I'd tell people that it’s okay to go with American Van Lines, but they should do their own research so they’d be happy with their decision.

We booked an out of state move and one week before the 3 day window were told there was no truck? Then our job was handed to a third party. After hours on the phone, waiting, being disconnected, we were told the 26' truck they sent was too small and we owed an additional 4300 dollars overage for a U-Haul. This was without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If our form did not specify every item, we were charged. American does not do an estimate but relies on a checklist, abysmal service and terrible communication.

We are retired and we were moving to be closer to family. We were trying to find a moving company that would come to the eastern part of the state and move us to the western part of North Carolina. They were the closest ones that were nationally known. We liked the four guys that did the moving. They did a good job. There were two mirrors broken during the move, however, that went with the headboard unit that they supposedly were going to replace. The movers said they were going to replace them and they put it on the damaged list. I had filled out a little form and it turned out that that was just a perfunctory thing that did not really amount to anything. We were disappointed to learn that they covered $0.50 a pound. So, they weren't going to really pay anything. I could have read the contract more carefully. Also, the customer service, according to my wife, was not so eager to help and were a little dismissive.

The coordinator did an excellent job. I was very pleased with the follow-up and responsiveness. We have a winter home in South Carolina and we were looking for a firm to accommodate us with moving some additional furniture from our permanent residence in Indiana. I’ve done a lot of this over the years. The move with American Van Lines was one of the better if not the best experience. The moving crew did a very good job as well. They were very cooperative and behaved appropriately.

I retired from a company that used to use Allied Moving Company, and when I talked to Allied, they didn’t answer straight. So, I looked up American Van Lines. When I called American, somebody named Toni was supposed to be there, but she didn’t answer her phone. She was gone, so I called back. Somebody else called me and I described the rooms. I didn’t understand what he was trying to tell me or what the cost was, and they wouldn’t send anybody out to evaluate the house. The next day Toni called me, and I really liked working with her and that's who I wanted to work with, but they wouldn't let me work with her. I ended up having to work with the manager down in Florida and he was hard to get a hold of a lot of times. Sometimes he wouldn’t return my calls, and when I talked to Toni, she told me what to do or what to expect, and how to contact him.

I went on the internet to see what moving companies were available in Wisconsin and American Van Lines had a lower price. The coordinator was okay, but the only problem I had was they didn't give me a definite date when they would pick up or deliver. I'd never moved before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The first time, they canceled 'cause they couldn't make it. I wouldn't have had to hurry down to Florida if I'd known they were not gonna be down there right away. But other than that, everything came through well. The moving crew was wonderful. They were very friendly, they explained things well and they handled stuff well. It only took them two and a half hours to load up.

The initial person that I spoke with was very good. But the follow up coordinator during the actual move seemed to be uninformed or not connected to reality. She didn't know the timing of the move. The move has actually showed up ahead of time. There was a breakdown in communication somewhere. But the fact that I was working directly with the driver, everything worked out fine. The crews that showed up for the pick-up in Connecticut and the delivery in Florida were excellent. All the furniture arrived safely and nothing was damaged. So I'm very happy. It was a very, very positive experience. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines.

The American Van Lines team came in, loaded everything up and then they left. They were very friendly and very nice. And they didn’t dilly-dally to get extra time in. Also they have the ability to do the move when we needed it. The process took about four hours and the guys did a good job.

American Van Lines was referred to us by our real estate agent who handled our transaction to sell our place. They were excellent and very helpful. They delivered all the supplies way ahead of time when we needed them. And they packed us up, did a perfect job and then when they unloaded, they did a better than perfect job. The move was from South Florida to Eastern Tennessee, about 580 miles, and everything was on schedule. They ran into some problems because of the computer in their truck and they called to let us know, and they were very polite.

American Van Lines is a well-known name and reaching out to them went really well. I was doing a relocation from Chicago to Morrow, Louisiana and the moving crew was polite and gave great customer service. Everything was fine and overall it was a great experience.

I'd recommend American Van Lines to anybody who would ask for movers. They did a great job and moved me faster than we had anticipated and they charged us accordingly. So, I was pleased with that. Renee, the moving consultant, did a great job, and the moving crew worked real hard and steady. We did have rain during part of the move which they had to kind of stop for a few minutes because they didn’t wanna move the furniture in the rain but they loaded the trucks pretty quick and didn’t take a lunch break. It was a local move, so it was about a 30-mile drive. They went straight over here and unloaded the trucks and put everything in place and placed things where I asked them to.

American Van Lines was the quickest to respond to my inquiries when I was searching for a mover. John, the first person I spoke with at American Van Lines, was really interested in what I wanted, listened to what I had to say, and answered my questions very quickly. He spoke with me a couple of times, then he passed me along to the moving coordinator. The moving people were friendly and professional, and they worked quickly. They explained everything and told me what they were gonna do in advance, and they did it.

The moving coordinator at American Van Lines was responsive and knowledgeable. On the other hand, the moving crew did not have all the tools that they needed and they had to borrow my tools to handle things in the move. Also, some of the equipment was damaged in the move and they did not tell me about it. It was some inexpensive furniture, but some of the pieces were ripped off. One piece of luggage was missing and a Wii unit was missing at the end of the move. A backpack was missing as well.

Everyone I came in contact with was very helpful, efficient and caring. From Tim who wrote the initial contract to Ester ** who was assigned to be my moving coordinator. She was truly wonderful to deal with. Always kept me informed every step of the way which was a considerable move from N/W Washington state to Davenport Florida. The moving crew headed by the driver Tim were excellent in every way. The crew that unloaded in Florida after a month of storage were equally great. Would not hesitate to recommend American Van Lines.

American Van Lines worked great for me. They were on-time, quick and efficient. There was no hassle at all. So I recommend it. I was very satisfied. The moving coordinator was very knowledgeable and we got everything taken care of. The crew were dynamite. They were very good with all of our breakables. They took care of business. It was awesome and wasn’t hard.

I went online looking for reviews and American Van Lines had better reviews. The people were very efficient, very professional, and very quick. They did what they said they were gonna do and when they said they were gonna do it. They were gracious and listened to me. And I had a good experience with them.

We selected American Van Lines (AVL) due to the timely quote over the phone and the good online reviews (both Consumer Affairs and Google reviews). The sales agent went through contents in each rooms with me over the phone, and was able to provide an estimated household content weight and cost. The estimated cost was at the lower range shown in Moving.com, so I selected AVL based on the good reviews. The loading dates and delivery dates were provided in a time window in the estimate. This usually is not a issue, except our new condo in Denver has a more strict move-in/move-out procedure; that an appointment needs to be made ahead of time, over weekdays only. This complicated our unloading arrangement, but our AVL coordinator was doing his best to accommodate this requirement.

American Van Lines' moving coordinator was good and she reiterated a lot of things. The movers in San Diego until we got to Oklahoma City were professional. They were great, and they didn’t misconduct themselves, cuss and get on complaining. And there were three boxes that were not checked off on the sheet, and about five weeks later, the driver sent somebody from Dallas to come back to Oklahoma City to give us our remaining boxes. He was cordial enough to let me know he had the boxes. He had many households on his truck and I understood that he couldn't just bring them down and go back so he gave me a timeline. For the most part, it was fulfilled and everything was returned. And if I was moving again across state, I would call American Van Lines again.

There were 2 major issues with our move. First and biggest, they tried to cancel our move with less than a week's notice. Second, our belongings were late. Issue #1: mover cancellation. We booked our move in January 2018 for a load date of 3/12-3/14/18. When I called to provide the delivery address the week before our move was scheduled, I was told that something had come up with one of their trucks and, with less than a week's notice, they "wouldn't be able to service my move". Note - I had to call THEM to find this out. After many frantic phone calls (and us having to change multiple travel plans because we were flying to where our belongings were for pick-up), they were able to reschedule for later in the week.

We had done some shopping and went with American Van Lines based on the reference that I had received. The moving consultant came out at the house to do the estimate and he was very good. And the crew during the move worked quite long and didn’t rush. They didn’t do a poor job at packing as well. American Van Lines did an efficient job and everything arrived fine. Not a little thing was damaged.

I went online and read American Van Lines's reviews, and they seem to have a high rating. The moving coordinator was very good and the moving crew was very good as well. The only problem I had was that on the day of the delivery, I was given a couple of different dates. And then, they had to be changed at the last minute. So, I felt that there was a disconnect between the dispatcher and the driver as far as timelines. They came in before the last day that they stated, but there were four days of waiting around. But Dan tried very hard to keep us in the loop.

When I first talked to American Van Lines, they were really good. Then when they came to pick up all my goods from Arizona, it was excellent. They were really good people. They packed up everything, packed stuff neatly and marked the boxes. They were quick, they didn’t break anything and didn’t push anything around. And the hired help they had were really good. But when it came to unloading here in Maryland, it was a different story.

My move was from California to Texas and I looked online and filled something out from American Van Lines saying I was interested. They called and asked me about all the things that I had to move, and we walked through the house together on the phone. The first person that I talked to was the consultant, while the second person was my contact throughout that I could call anytime. The ones that moved us out were great, and the ones that moved us in were great as well. What I paid for was probably three times more than the estimate, but it was my fault since I didn’t tell them all the things that I had. Plus every moving company gives you a way lower estimate than what actually is the cost and that's incredibly frustrating.

A lot of people in this community have used American Van Lines and they were very well recommended. The price was right and they did a very good job. The person I dealt with was very good and accommodating. He came over in the weekend and brought me boxes. I have dealt with moving companies in the past and American Van Lines is probably the best one I ever used. I would use them again.

Everything went smooth with American Van Lines. They were very professional and got everything done in a timely manner. The moving coordinator was awesome because I had a change in my move about 15 times and she was stellar with it. The move was supposed to be 15 miles and then it ended up being like 40 miles. American Van Lines is a great moving company and I would book them.

We reviewed a bunch of moving companies, and the moving coordinator from American Van Lines was more professional than the other three I was talking to at the time. He made me feel comfortable, explained things, laid out cost, and explained the process. I had a very good talk with him and he helped me understand the process, the cost and options. The moving crew was good, very nice, very polite, very professional, hard working, very easy to get along with and very conscientious. They did a very good job. I would tell others to use American Van Lines. They were expensive but you get what you pay for.

American Van Lines staff is an A team of professionals. All my furniture and personal belongings were packed with care in my Washington DC home, placed into American Van Lines storage for over 6 months and delivered to my new Florida home with utmost care and consideration. Timing was as promised. Communication excellent. I would recommend this company to any person or company who is looking for stress free as possible moving experience.

We just completed a cross county move using American Van Lines. The crew on both ends of the move were amazing. I appreciated having a moving coordinator from their home office assigned to our move. She checked in periodically throughout the process to make sure things were going as planned. The moving team was extremely careful with our belongings. The only minor damage was to a headboard that proved extremely tricky to remove from an upper level bedroom. Everything was packed professionally and we only had to wait one day in our new state for our belongings to arrive. Every person we encountered was professional, kind and helpful. We highly recommend American Van Lines as a top notch moving company.

Very pleased with the professional and courteous handling of my move. Helpful from the beginning in arranging for the move to the pickup and delivery of my household items. Very mindful in packing and the handling of my articles during the start to the finish. If I could rate this move higher than a "5", I would gladly.

I got a couple of quotes from moving companies and American Van Lines had the same quote so, I just went ahead with them. Marcus, our moving coordinator, was initially good but he dropped the ball two or three times and I was unhappy with that. The first one was when I asked if our large mirror could be considered furniture and if they could wrap it up or sent separately. He said sure and told us to send him a photo to ask their quality assurance department. He said he would get back to me but he never did and we had to box up before the movers came. I just ignored it and the mover assisted us in moving it.

Couldn't ask for nicer guy than Brian in working out all the details for us. The crew that actually showed up were likewise a fabulous group of guys. They made everything so easy... and fun. Great sense of humor while doing a tough job. Thank you to all involved.

I worked with American Lines and the moving coordinator was good. The moving crew were also fast, efficient and did a good job. Everything was fine with the condition of the items when it arrived. So use them.

The experience leading up to our move was great, they communicated when they said they would. However, a couple of days into our move and once our stuff was already on the truck, things went sideways. They extended our delivery date the day before it was supposed to arrive AND charged our card the maximum moving amount!!! We kept asking for the weight of our items and they would not tell us! In addition, dealing with Esther ** was a nightmare, she was rude and would call with NO updated. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!

I was happy with American Van Lines' service. The people who came to pack my things did a fantastic and wonderful job. I was very impressed. In everything from moving my stuff from the warehouse to my new place, the movers were very helpful and patient. However, there was some items that were damaged and some items were lost and have not yet been recovered. I'm particularly upset about my new bedroom set. Different pieces were damaged. There were gashes and scratches. I also have a TV stand where the glass shelves are missing. I can’t use the stand without replacing the glass shelf and I have to have them made. I filed a claim for my lost and damaged items. They sent help and told me what to do. Now I’m just waiting. Other than that, it was good.

Very professional move from start to finish. Would absolutely refer American to family and friends. Dishes were wrapped and packed properly. All furniture was properly wrapped. It was a small move and the entire move lasted only a few hours. Crew was polite.

Movers arrived on schedule and went right to work. Very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Definitely went the extra mile when certain items were not as prepared as they should have been. Truck arrived at the North East destination as promised (only a few days) and the cargo was offloaded quickly and efficiently. Have not opened every box yet but all looks in good shape; no damage to outer cartons.

We decided to get out of Asheville and move down to Maiden. American Van Lines had good reviews and when we paid for the service, it was all said and done. Their moving consultant was great, though their crew was a little hesitant at first. We actually made them lunch and they loosened up a little bit and were great to deal with. And overall, I didn't have any problem with American Van Lines.

I heard about American Van Lines from a real estate agent that sold our condo in Florida. Our moving coordinator, Brian, did a great job. We were satisfied 100%, except we just had an issue with one of our paintings. I guess when they wrapped it, they didn't wrap it tight enough which damaged the frame which we have a claim in for now. I did it at like the middle of March and they say they have 120 days to look at the claim. But the guys who packed and unpacked my stuff were great.

We decided to move to Colorado and enjoy it. Then we did a search on reputable moving companies and American Van Lines popped up. It was on a retirement site. Their moving consultant was very helpful. She called in to check on us to see if things are going well and if we had any questions and my questions got answered. However, it was clear that I was not familiar with moving terminology as the coordinator was. Sometimes, I had a hard time understanding what she was talking about. But the only complaint is I didn’t realize that once I contract to have my things moved, the moving coordinator moves on and passes it over to someone else. And I spent several times calling the coordinator and trying to get some questions answered but she never returned the call. And then I later found out it was because my account had been given to a customer care representative who worked very well.

I was surfing the web for moving companies. Two Men and a Truck came up first then American Van Lines was second. When I spoke to Two Men and a Truck, they wanted way too much money while American Van Lines was a lot cheaper, so I went with them. The rep I worked with answered all my questions. I told him what I had and he booked me up. I moved about 20 miles and he was very helpful. I told him what I needed and when I needed to do it and he got things done easily. The moving crew also bent over backwards for me and were very professional. I’ve recommended American Van Lines to others.

I was relocating to a different state and a colleague told me about American Van Lines. They’re very helpful and prompt in returning my calls, and I had no issues and no property damage. It’s good to go with them. I had a fair interaction with the rep and the driver was nice too. Everything went smooth and well and I would definitely recommend them to my other colleagues and friends.

These guys are so great, fast and reliable. They got my stuff moved from North Carolina to Florida in 1 day. No shady business or trying to change the price on you like what I heard happens with some other companies. Everyone from their customer service to their movers was very professional and competent. I highly recommend this company for anyone who is looking for a hassle free move.

I really recommend American Van Lines to anyone in need of movers. They were GREAT! Do yourselves a favor and let them handle it, was the best decision I did. If the scale was 1 thru 10 they'd be 11, honestly!

Very pleased with service; from the sales rep, account manager, and the crew that did the move. The gentlemen worked well together and did excellent work, the moving crew was professional and courteous; my husband and I were very pleased.

My wife did a bunch of research, but in the end, the prior reputation of American Van Lines especially the two positive moves by our son was how we ultimately settled on choosing them. The moving coordinator was very responsive. We talked regularly. I oftentimes had to play a bit of phone tag. But overall, as we finalized the estimates and make a few changes at the end, it worked out well.

The original movers that we've had made a deal that they couldn’t live up to and didn't want to give back the deposit, so when we switched to American Van Lines, I was very nervous. I was thinking that everything would go wrong. But Allan, our moving coordinator, was very good in taking care of everything. I was also very appreciative of the two gentlemen who did the packing up. They were wonderful. I've packed a lot of things myself, yet a lot was left and they packed up quickly and efficiently.

Don’t use this “mover”. Here’s the bottom line: they did a lousy job on my move, and tried to pay me off in exchange for keeping quiet—ie, not warning others like you. Now, in more detail: American Van Lines is actually a broker of moving services, which means they subcontract the actual move out to unknown entities over whom they have no quality control. It's the luck of the draw and I drew a nightmare.

I found American Van Lines through the internet. They contacted me and stayed in communication. Their moving crew was very good. If I move again I will definitely consider going back to them. Others should chat with American Van Lines and see if they would do the same for them as they did for me.

The moving coordinators of American Van Lines were responsive and very helpful. They talked to us about how much product we were going to move and they anticipated how much room we needed in the truck, and they were accurate with that. They were also very good about getting back to us. First, they gave us a window of three days for the truck to be here. Then we got a couple of days before they told us the definite time and day of the truck's arrival, within a window of a couple of hours, and that was very good. The movers were very friendly and nice. They worked hard and they kept working so their productivity was good. I've mentioned American Van Lines to the people in the organization that I work for.

On the pickup date, American Van Lines was a day late and they didn't keep me in the loop so we had some issues about that. All the movers were very nice but the whole coordination was bad because we were due to fly out on that day. It was nerve-wracking to not know we're going to get picked up. We tried to reach the moving coordinator staff but American Van Lines is on the East Coast in Florida and we're on the West Coast in Nevada. So because of the time difference, we were able to reach them very late after a lot of calls and not very happy voicemails I’ve left them. Finally, one of the managers reached out to us and they assured us that they're going to make it happen even if they have to buy us another plane ticket.

Communicative. Reliable. Professional. Friendly. I have been through 3 long haul moves in less than four years. If I ever move again, AVL will be the only moving company I work with. They partnered with me on every step in the process. My mover Tim, and his crew, treated me and my belongings like I was a member of their family. Overall, a very different experience than any other. Everyone that I dealt with at AVL was courteous and professional. It made the entire process easy. Would recommend AVL to friends and family or anyone planning on making a move. If we move again would definitely use AVL again.

I’ve used American Van Lines' services in the past. This time, I had to move for work and my experience in speaking with their moving coordinators was good. They stayed in touch with me continually, making sure everything was going okay. My interaction with the moving crew was positive and I didn’t have any problems with them whatsoever. They were productive and always very helpful.

We were relocating and moving back from Virginia to Texas, and we did a web search trying to see who we could find. I talked to one person from American Van Lines when I was setting up initial conversations and using their app on my phone to walk around and show them the items in the house. He did a good estimate from walking around the house and explaining things as I went around. As the date came closer, I was contacted by another person who coordinated and kept me up to date on their arrival and how quick it would take them to drop my stuff off. That was pretty good as well, though he was a little difficult to reach from time to time. He didn't always pick up, and sometimes I ended up calling the main number and asking for them and somebody would go find them.

We were moving six miles just to downsize and my wife was looking for good moving companies and getting recommendations from neighbors. American Van Lines was competitive price-wise, and their moving coordinator was very friendly, helpful and cheerful. Also, the moving crew was very good, professional and quick. They moved very quickly, less than the maximum time that we were suggested.

The moving coordinator and moving crew of American Van Lines that helped us were good and professional. They couldn’t bring the things in my driveway from the beginning because the road is winding and there's a hill. And they basically said if we wanted to get it here we got to pay for that. What they have to do was rent a truck and park at some parking lot somewhere nearby our house. And we were going to have to transfer back and forth loading up things.

I'm in the military and when I asked around people directed me American Van Lines. The moving coordinator was very helpful, very direct and straightforward. Most of the items came from Pennsylvania to California. The primary means of communication was face to face on day one. And then if I had any issues or questions I called and that happened once. It was a little hard getting in and out of the area that I was at but I offered to help the moving crew just because from the truck to my house the moving crew had to basically go a city block with every single item. I'm overall happy with the service.

My realtor recommended American Van Lines. I've had a couple of moves and the most recent one from Florida went well. Everything went fine with the rep who assisted me. He was very personable, confident, and reassuring. During the move, the crew was good and conscientious, and they seemed to care. I paid $6,500 which is a lot of money and I went with American Van Lines even though their cost was higher, but the move turned out to be fine. They might be too expensive, but they were good.

The team was very organized and did a good job with the packing and our move. Ester in Customer Service was frequently contacting us to make sure we were aware of scheduling and timing for everything and she followed up on each phase of our move to make sure we were taken care of. American Van Lines was on a website recommending the best moving van companies. They were quite upfront with everything, very businesslike and no hidden fees. They sent me an inventory and I filled it out. I had done a lot of packing beforehand so it was pretty straightforward. During the move, the crew was very professional. They moved so fast that we had to try to catch up to get to the destination. I'd recommend American Van Lines.

My moving day went very well from beginning to end. Customer service and Brian reassured me I would have the size truck I requested and they did. The 4 gentlemen were very professional and did a terrific job. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines as my experience was a good one. Thank you.

Overall, I would recommend American Van Lines. When getting my initial quote, the representative was helpful and gave me all the information I needed. Then someone followed up a couple weeks later. The movers were excellent--professional, timely, and very nice. The only negative thing I would say is that I did not get a phone call to let me know of the date and time of the pickup--I had to call them myself to get that information. The movers dropped everything off 3 days later for a 500 mile move, which I thought was impressive! It was also a little tricky getting a time frame from American Van Lines of when the drop off would be--they just gave us the date and then later in the afternoon, we were finally given a drop-off time. (The movers had run into some bad snowstorms on the way, so it was understandable.)

We used American Van Lines back in the '80s to move and we used them again recently. They called, made appointments and told me when to expect everybody to show up. The moving crew did their business. I just sat around and waited for them to load the truck.

They kept us informed every step of the way, always returned our calls and advised us on our move. The moving men were quick and took care of our belongings. They called us before they arrived. Would recommend this company.

Delivery 222 Inman Lane NE - We checked in many times about the need to pack one day and load the next. The dispatcher told us not necessary. The night before the move they call to say they needed to move the pack and load (airline tickets were bought, animals booked on flights etc). After much complaining they finally packed and loaded same day. Driver was very pleasant. The packers, 3 brothers in Denver were very nice but did a terrible job in the pack and load.

We had a reasonably good experience with American Van Lines. I had a good driver but there were a couple of big dents on my French door refrigerator. And also they did some damage to the water or ice dispenser. And when I called the adjuster, she, in a very unsympathetic way, told me that I signed up for the lower level of insurance and even though each of those was going to cost me about $400 each I was only covered for something like $160. It wasn't what she told me but the way she told me so I wasn't happy with her. It was really curt and very short. And at that time when everything has already happened there was no need for her to be curt and short. She just needed to explain the rules and remind me of what I signed.

Marcus **, my main contact person, was unfailingly polite and helpful and kept me informed about everything. The movers were polite, cheerful, helpful and even did extra things to help me.
