American Van Lines Reviews

I was shipping a vehicle and the shipper gave me the name of the company, American Van Lines. My interactions with the moving coordinator were great. However, we had some issues. We had to leave before the movers came in, so we had a friend who would stay at our place in Connecticut while they packed up. They left my whole washroom. I had an ironing board, brand-new iron, step stool, and all kinds of things in my washroom that never got moved.

We have family in Florida and we moved there. It was difficult contacting someone at American Van Lines. When I call, it goes to voicemail or I don't get a response. The first person that I talked to from American Van Lines did everything very quickly. However, it was hard to understand what she was talking about. After that, she was not available when I got some other people. The crew had to move all of the furniture and there were some delicate items. There was a piece of furniture that got scratched because one gentleman used a dolly. There were also a couple of instances of that with some different pieces as well but, as far as the dishes, there was nothing broken. They used a smaller truck and jammed everything in there. So, things were piled up especially the tools that my husband keeps in the garage. But the guys were good and took care of it.

My experience with American Van Lines was awesome and they were fantastic. I had two movers from American Van Lines and they were both excellent. The first move was from Illinois to Indiana and I moved in with my son for a little while. Then I got the second movers when I found a house for myself. My moving coordinator answered all my questions and told me what to expect. Our interaction was great and very simple. My experience with the moving consultant was very good and the crew was great. I can't believe how fast they did everything. Nothing was broken and I was totally amazed by the job they did. It was almost as if they were handling their own furniture and equipment. I would recommend them to anybody who I knew were moving.

I just retired from my job and was moving from Los Angeles to West Palm Beach. I got American Van Lines' services and their rep helped me find whatever I needed and answered all my questions. The quote they gave me was fair. I even asked my real estate guy about it and he also thought that it was a fair quote. I ended up paying less than that because they judged the weight a bit more than what it was.

I hired American Van Lines to move me from Sedona, AZ to Ashburn, Virginia. According to the contract, they had a 21 day delivery window to arrive at my house. They DID not make the delivery window. To compensate, they said that they would pay me a small fee for every day that the delivery was late. My belonging arrived 5 days after 21 days. The problem was that I only received 1/2 of the promised compensation. Customer service called me and sent a check overnight by FedEx to settle the move. It took over one month, but they finally delivered, as promised. In summary, everything else was fine. The movers were helpful and polite and I hope I never have to move across country again. No matter how good the movers are, it is still a hassle.

We moved from Tennessee to Massachusetts so my wife could be closer to her family. My wife did some online comparisons with different moving companies and when she called American Van Lines she got the best quote.The moving coordinator called to make sure everything was running smooth and everything did. Their moving crew showed up on time and they had a great demeanor. I was packing and they were packing and everybody got out of there on time. There were some things that got broken in transit but that's to be expected.

I sold my property to move in with my fiancé and found American Van Lines online to help with that. They were willing to assist me with moving and wrapping my furniture. They did everything. My experience with the moving crew was pleasant. They were on time and on task. It took about an hour and a half to get everything loaded up.

I was moving my family and the American Van Lines guy that came and did the bid was fantastic. He was really nice and responsive and he was upfront with the cost. It was not the most competitive bid, but he was very outspoken about the value that the crew brings and the company and giving me that extra confidence which was exactly what I experienced. The moving coordinator was great. We had several changes to add on a couple of mirror crates for some wall decor and that was done timely. On payment, I had a little bit of an issue with one of the credit cards. It was 6:00 at night on the day before they were supposed to come, and she was really responsive in going back and forth with me on it.

I wanted a new place and so I moved to a different area close to work. The moving consultant from American Van Lines was very nice and detailed. She was also very friendly and persistent which I liked because with my business schedule, it's hard for me to follow up as timely as I would like to sometimes. I called and made some changes in the move a number of times and she was able to adjust. She called back on a very consistent basis to make sure the move was still set, and there were no changes I needed to add or adjust on her end.

I was relocating and John, from American Van Lines, originally set the move up. He was very pleasant and he got the ball rolling for me. Then, I was assigned a coordinator who was Marcus. He was a little harder to get a hold of and to get answers from. He wasn't as easily available by phone and most of what I had to do was email. I was extremely nervous about it costing more than I thought it was going to cost and also because I had read some really terrible reviews. I ended up taking a lot of things out and my coordinator worked with me about four different price changes. But the balance was actually lower than what they quoted, so I was happy with that.

My company was moving so I had to move from Torrance to Plano. It was good dealing with the American Van Lines rep who assisted me. I had requested for packing service, so the moving crew packed, and it was a nice experience. It was during the hurricane time and the reps couldn’t contact the head office, but I told them that I had paid online. They didn’t create any fuss about having to get the money on hand before delivering my stuff and I appreciate that. I was also happy that the move took four days. On the other hand, the quote started at about $2,100, but the actual charge finally got up to $2,900. Apart from that, however, everything else was good in my experience with American Van Lines and if I had known about the change in fees earlier, it would have been better.

We bought a house and we got American Van Lines, which my brother runs, for the move. The team showed up on time, did what we asked them to do, and didn't make a mess. The crew that packed all my stuff up was very professional and courteous. There were one or two little things that were damaged, but it wasn’t a big deal. Everything was fine.

At the age of 90, my mother who lives in Florida finally realized she needed to be up in New Jersey closer to her family. We got American Van Lines for the move. I went down there, met with the movers, had them pack up, and move her up near me. The driver was great and the crew was good. When I needed to find out when they would show up, the driver was the one who I was able to get a hold. I was very happy with the service that the guys gave. However, I kept getting passed to different people at the office and it turns out there was an issue. The truck was never weighed after it was loaded and after they dropped everything off. And it's frustrating because the move was by the weight. I was really upset that they didn't do it. I think the driver did it but they lost the paperwork in the office. So, I wound up having to pay a certain amount of money, like their minimum fee. I just had to pay it to put it behind us. I never knew what the actual cost was.

I was moving for a new job. American Van Lines helped me move from my old place to my new place. The moving coordinator was really nice and helpful. The moving crew was really nice too. They helped me pack out everything and they did it quickly. They were also very careful with my belongings. Everything was in place and it was really nice. I really liked the service.

I was moving things from my old residence to a new location down in South Carolina. The moving coordinator was very consistent with her callbacks and follow-ups. She was also very helpful in terms of providing information about the delivery date or any type of updates that were needed. Everything was great. Also the moving crew was great. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. They were also very professional in terms of how they move the objects and were careful with the fragile items. The process took about a week and a half at most and I was satisfied. It was a solid overall professional move.

Those people at American Van Lines were excellent. We used them a few months ago and they were awesome. The coordinator was very thorough and asked us what exactly we thought about moving and where we were moving. She also gave us different options on whether we wanted them to pack up our things in boxes and we went with the box option. We got pretty much the full service and it made the move a lot easier. There was no way that we could have ever done that on our own even if we hired a couple of guys, rented the truck and packed things up. The crew contacted me the day before to let me know more or less what time to expect them then they showed up early in the morning on a Saturday. They were in uniform so my wife knew they were from American Van Lines. We opened the door and it was a four-man crew.

My sister had used American Van Lines once and she liked them. They were wonderful when I got their services to move from my house in Palm Coast, Florida to New Jersey and when I moved again from New Jersey back to Florida. I couldn’t decide where I wanted to live and I'm still undecided, and if I move again, I’ll call them again. The reps were terrific and everything was fine with them. The moving people were helpful, kind and considerate, and they were delightful and pleasant to deal with. Especially in the move from New Jersey to Florida, they were particularly wonderful people. They showed up on time and did a good job, and they even went out of their way in some circumstances. They did a very careful job of moving and nothing was broken.

American Van Lines did a good job and I had a good interaction with the moving coordinator as well as their crew.

This issue has been resolved.

I moved from Connecticut to California because of a new job and I had American Van Lines' services. Their crew was fine and they were on time, polite and friendly. My interactions with their moving consultant were good too. It has been an excellent experience. Everything went fine as expected.

We were moving cross-country. We checked with the company that had moved us locally when we lived in California. But they contracted that to another company who had horrible ratings so we wanted to go with a national company that’s well-known. American Van Lines gave us an estimate over the phone based on how many rooms and how big the house was. They also estimated certain items that were in the house that were probably heavy, and the estimate came out pretty close.

I’m changing jobs so I had to move about 800 miles away and I got American Van Lines. The experience was really good with the moving consultant but he underestimated the amount of stuff I had. American Van Lines couldn't get to the move, so they farmed it off to another contractor who brought his truck. But it was not enough to carry everything we had and they were going to charge me another $1,100 because they were going to have to rent a truck and then continue loading. I ended up renting a truck and driving it there myself. The guy that American Van Lines sent took some of the stuff, and I took the rest.

I used American Van Lines over a year ago and it was perfect. Their rep came over and talked to me and then we agreed on a price. Then they came over and brought some boxes and I helped pack a lot of the stuff. They packed the big stuff and moved it. They were very good to me and they helped me that I can't say anything bad about the company. The main thing that I was happy with was I happened to have moved three times in Florida in six years and this last move with American Van Lines there wasn't one piece of item missing. They were honest and fair. They kept their word and everything they said. They did everything to the tee. They were perfectly on time. The driver and his two helpers went beyond the call of duty to help me, because I'm older, to get it unpacked and where I wanted it. So I had no complaints at all and I would recommend them to anybody.

I moved from my apartment to another and got American Van Lines’ services. I had a good experience with the moving consultant and the movers who worked were very good. But when the truck left the building, they crashed the building.

We were relocating my grandparents to my parent's house and my experience with American Van Lines was positive. Their rate was very good, their reps were all perfectly nice and the moving crew was excellent. However, the moving consultant was unmemorable. Our biggest complaint was the three-day window of our booking which was really too wide. Other than that, it has been an efficient, smooth and painless experience.

We had a second home up in North Carolina and we've got it on the market and we were just moving some items from that place back down to Florida. Their moving coordinator was very good. She was easy to get a hold of and stayed in contact with me throughout the process. The crew during the move was very helpful. They showed up on time and did their job in a reasonable amount of time. Everything just went smoothly. I've done a lot of the packing myself with the fragile items. I packed in boxes and put in big red letters, breakable or fragile. They complied with whatever I asked them to do. Nothing ended up broken as I unpacked my stuff.

I needed to move for work so I looked for van lines online that had decent reviews. I wanted a major carrier so I searched on Google and it kept on coming back to American Van Lines. My moving coordinator was very helpful. It seemed like I could reach him anytime I wanted. He was very responsive and always available. The person who I worked with to estimate what was in my house was very thorough. The end pricing ended up being almost spot on due to her estimate of how much weight we would have.

I am writing this review to provide a forewarning to others. Like I did, you are doing as much research as possible in choosing which moving company to select. This review concerns our cross-country move from Los Angeles, CA to Brooklyn, NY last winter. I had originally intended to publish earlier, but the birth of a child and a serious injury ate up much of the past several months. Before I detail my experience for this review, let me qualify by stating in the last 29 years, I have previously moved from NYC to Chicago. From NYC to upstate NY. From NYC to Los Angeles. In addition, over many decades, members of my immediate family have moved from one state to another, crisscrossing the US. Not myself, nor any one of my relatives had anything to match my appalling experience. Before choosing American Van Lines from among a group I’d shortlisted, I did considerable research of my own.

American Van Lines has a good reputation and I know some people who have used them in the past. I got them for a move and they were really courteous throughout the whole process. There were no curveballs or any confusions. The crew was awesome and they were the same people who picked the stuff up and dropped it off. They were hilarious and we were bantering back and forth at each other while having a good time. The American Van Lines people were very nice but also had to be very careful because there was a lot of fragile stuff. They did a great job and I'm bought. I would recommend American Van Lines to anyone else and I'd probably use them if I were to move again.

I was relocating and found American Van Lines online. Our moving coordinator, Toni, assisted us with everything that we needed. During the move, the crew was very professional and worked in a timely manner. They showed up when they needed to and delivered in a reasonable time. The entire process took less than 5 days. I had a great experience with them.

We used American Van Lines for moving to our new house which was 10 minutes away from the old house. Renee, our coordinator was very helpful. One of our tabletops, glass tops or the outdoor furniture was left in the truck on the day of the move. That could have been delivered elsewhere by mistake so I was glad that they found it. And then, the person who was bringing it back on a certain day didn’t show up until a week later when I followed up. We had to make a couple of calls for them to bring it back. Other than that issue, I’m happy with everything. It all worked out.

I was moving and the guy from American Van Lines was easy to work with. Plus, Paul, the lead driver, and the other two members of the crew worked so hard. What they did was impressive and I appreciated it. My wife and I thought it was a good experience. They did what they said they were going to do, picked up when they said they were going to pick up and dropped off at the earliest date they said they could drop off.

My grown daughter, a single parent, and granddaughter need to move back to Arkansas, North Carolina and she needed help. I wasn't able physically or just time-wise, to get it down there and do it all myself so I had to figure out what was the best mix of her packing it and somebody else moving it. I got prices from two other companies and American Van Lines’ price was significantly lower. I also looked at the U-Haul option and American was probably about $500 maybe more than U-Haul. But at that time I figured the rental, the gas, the insurance, and everything else, and the plane ticket to get out there to pick up the U-Haul. So for 500 bucks and somebody to help load and unload stuff, that's a no-brainer.

I called different moving companies and the American Van Lines reps were excellent. They were very helpful. Plus, the moving people were prompt, courteous and professional. They did an excellent job.

I've used American Van Lines multiple times and I used them for my daughter's move to New York City. I had a good experience working with the moving coordinator and the moving crew did everything they needed to do. They were very courteous and very careful. They picked up the stuff, secured it, delivered it, and put it where I wanted them to. Excellent productivity and they did a great job. I get a little concerned about moving companies, but they were awesome. They were A+.

I searched online and read some reviews and then I found American Van Lines. It’s for a move from West Coast to East Coast, a two bedroom apartment move. I called them up for a quote and they gave me the quote pretty quickly and set up to pick up on all those things. The entire process was smooth except for few last-minute changes and when they started charging few things based on a distance between where the truck stops and where my house is located, and based on the distance anywhere from where the main door is located.

American Van Lines sent me a card in the mail then I called them up. I told their moving coordinator that I would have everything boxed up so all they had to do was to move the boxes. I also told him how many boxes would be in each room so it was very easy. The crew that we had during the move was excellent. They were moving and talking at the same time. American Van Lines did a very good job and I highly recommend them.

Six months ago, we used American Van Lines. I Googled them, then my wife and I decided to go with them because we saw a lot of good reviews. We had pleasant interactions with the moving coordinator all the time. I was informed if they had delays. The moving crew was excellent too.

I was moving cross country and a colleague of mine referred me to American Van Lines. They have provided service for the pickup, the delivery, and the destination during the time of booking. They were able to accommodate my request and walk me through the process. This was the first time I was doing the move and it was a long distance one as I was moving from Florida to California. Their reps were professional and they answered all the questions that I had. There were just one or two things and probably this is across the industry or the way it works. I was requesting if somebody could come and take a look at what I have, and that way there will be no surprises on the day of pickup.

It’s been a great experience with American Van Lines. They helped with the very hard move that I had. The rep who facilitated the move was great and wonderful. She did her job. She called me and kept telling me everything like when their crew was coming and what they were going to do. The movers were very good too. I have recommended this company to a lot of people I know.

American Van Lines did a really good job. I don't ever plan on moving again, but if I did, I would definitely contact them again. I had to make a couple of changes after the initial booking and the rep took care of them without any problem. Their moving crew was extremely good. They let me know when they'd be arriving and got there right on time. We had most of our stuff packed up and they had to pack up the large stuff, like the beds. They did really well when they packed them up.

We had a bad experience with another company that we've hired so I wanted to know if American Van Lines would hold to their bid and they did. We had a large move from Colorado to California and American Van Lines was on time and provided excellent service. Dwight, the driver, was very professional and helpful. The moving crew was also professional. There weren't any major damage in my belongings. I gave a recommendation of Dwight and the guy that coordinated the movers.

I had to move because of my job. The American Van Lines coordinator on the phone kept me in the loop and everything that he told me seemed to work out well. He did a good job. The driver and his staff who came in were very professional, did a great job as well, and showed up when they told me they’re going to show up. I couldn’t be more pleased. It was a good and positive experience.

I moved from outside New York City to Madison, Wisconsin, for work. The interactions with the consultant and the moving crew were good, and the crew was quick. American Van Lines was very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make everything easy for me.

American Van Lines gave me a reasonable price and they were decent on the phone. Everything went fine with the moving coordinator and my questions were all answered. The company’s moving crew was good and quick-witted too. Everything worked out well with them. I’d recommend American Van Lines and if anybody wants to move, they should visit AVL.

I sold my house that I lived in for 40 years to move into a townhome. I got American Van Lines' services because the rep that I talked to on the phone told me how to communicate to them what I had and was very helpful since I've never moved before. I also compared prices and theirs was good. During the move, their crew did a good job. They answered any questions I had that moment and worked quickly. I had a very good experience with AVL and I would recommend them.

Everything was fine with American Van Lines. Their rate was still high but compared to the other companies, it was very competitive. Their crew during the move did a good job. American Van Lines should give a better time frame from pick up to delivery, but they have been helpful in a stressful time.

I retired and I got American Van Lines for my move as they’ve been around for years. Everything went nice and smooth with my moving coordinator and the crew for the move was awesome. Romeo and his partner were really friendly, easy to talk to and get along with, and did a bang-up job for me. I was ecstatic.

We had some stuff moved from our grandmother’s apartment in Ohio to my house in Iowa. I googled movers on the web and American Van Lines came up. Their moving coordinator was friendly. We had a unique move so she and her team worked with us as far as only doing certain things. They also helped with the pricing since it was based on the fact that it was just some pieces of furniture as opposed to moving a three-room apartment. Overall, American Van Lines was excellent and very efficient. Everything was great.

The moving coordinator was nice but I had an issue with them. When he set me up, I told him the day that my daughter had to move. He set it up for a Thursday and they were good about getting me set up for the pickup. I was living in West Virginia, and I was going to North Carolina for her graduation that weekend. They were nice and set it up for that day, but then I was going to be down there that weekend, so when they said that nobody was going to be home to receive the delivery, they were supposed to let me know. The night before they were to pick it up, they told me they were going to pick it up on Thursday, and deliver it to West Virginia on Friday. And I was going to be in North Carolina. So it was not a very good experience in that situation because I didn’t feel that they listened to me. I was very upset because I said I was not going to be home to accept the delivery.

A friend of mine inquired with American Van Lines and they gave him the best quote out of all the companies that he contacted. So he recommended them to me. When I called them, I got a really favorable quote within 20 minutes of the conversation and they were able to accommodate my work schedule so we decided to go with them. We already packed everything and moved the small items so they just moved our furniture. They were very quick and efficient. They were like clockwork and they finished the project in less time than they quoted me. They wanted to get the project done before the storm came in, so they brought in an extra hand and didn't charge me for his help. They were very good.

My brother passed away and I needed to move certain objects of his belongings to another state. It was a situation where I was taking care of the aftermath of his death and I used American Van Lines to move his belongings. There was not a lot of objects, but we had some difficult objects. We had a motorcycle and a generator. The experience was good. When I talked to my moving coordinator, he was very responsive and always very helpful. He answered my questions, was able to engage with me and understand the nature of the circumstances and what I was trying to do. The delivery crew was good. They were also responsive and very helpful. The communication was wonderful. Every step of the way, they were calling and telling me what was happening. So, it was great. I was very satisfied.

I got an advertisement from American Van Lines in the mail after my house went on the real estate market. The person I spoke with was so helpful and pleasant compared to the other places I called. The crew was friendly, efficient and professional. They showed up on time and the boxes were delivered when they said they would be. So, I'm very happy with my experience.

When I listed my property, all the moving companies started sending postcards. Peter who was the man I had dealt with was the reason I went with American Van Lines because he was very informative and a very nice person, and I just felt comfortable with them. The only bad thing was that we moved the day after Christmas. Two guys called in sick and so they didn’t have enough movers. They didn’t finish our job in time. It was getting dark so we had to stay in a hotel because all our stuff was in the truck. We hadn’t planned it because we thought they were going to be done. But it was just a small inconvenience and they did a fine job. A few things were broken, but you kind of expect that, and it wasn’t anything near and dear to our hearts. I called them and they said, “Oh, well, too bad”. Nevertheless, I’ve recommended American Van Lines since then.

We were referred to American Van Lines by another van line because they didn’t want to do our move since it was too far. The moving coordinator and the moving consultant were one and the same person, and she was terrific, very helpful and had a very good personality. The crew during the move was also great. Those guys were really good and we really like them. They were good guys, had good personalities and did a good job in moving. American Van Lines is upfront about the cost and the timing as well. They put out a schedule and they kept their schedule, so our family is very pleased with them. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. It was, after all, a very rewarding professional experience.

I got divorced and moved from Houston to Brooksville, Florida, where my brother, the only family I have left, lives. I went to the Better Business Bureau and American Van Line was one of the recommended ones. I also got in touch with one of their rep and she was so good at selling me their service that I took it. They gave me a quote based on the boxes and things that but after they loaded the truck and checked everything, they gave me $300 back which was good. The person who did the move was very professional and delicate. I was so happy that they brought mats and took them inside the house before they started doing things inside. They kept the carpet clean and the new house has hardwood floors and they were very careful not to get anything dirty.

The moving coordinator was very enthusiastic and very professional, and it gave me a sense of confidence. I liked the crew that helped me during the move. However, there was a little bump in the service that I received because they were working with the apartment personnel in my building. Somehow, there was a misunderstanding between the building personnel and the crew as the crew needed to request access to the elevator when they needed it. They didn't do that and we ended up having to wait a lot longer for the elevator, not realizing what was going on.

I got a new job so we moved from coast to coast and American Van Lines had my stuff where they needed to be. Their moving coordinator was really good and every time I had a question, he got back to us quickly. One guy took our information and the other one was our point of contact if there were issues along the way. He told us when the truck was going to be there, checked it periodically to make sure that we had the right weight amount and if we had to add or take anything off, he did it for us so our moving estimate would be updated in real time.

I contacted about three other moving companies, and American Van Lines had the best reviews online. They also kept me with the same person throughout. He was good and very knowledgeable. The other ones would transfer me to another person and their communication in between didn’t’ work out, and I got frustrated with them. The moving crew was great. I even tipped them because nothing was broken or missing. I moved from California to Portland, Oregon, and so I flew up and met them at my house. They were moving stuff when it was snowing. They did a great job and I would recommend them.

I would recommend American Van Lines. My interactions with them were good.

I moved up to a place closer to my work and I had a good experience with the moving consultant of American Van Lines. They were very helpful. The moving coordinator told me what they were going to do and he showed me the list of what I gave them when I asked for the quotation. I did my packing and sent for the furniture. They came on time, did the pick up and move to the other apartment, and they were able to finish within two hours.

Somebody recommended American Van Lines and everything went smoothly until the day we moved out. Something happened and they showed up five hours later. I did not know ahead of time that there was going to be a delay and by the time we moved it was night time. Other than that, everything was fine. There was no damage to anything when they delivered the stuff from the warehouse.

The woman from the American Van Lines office called about five times and repeated the same things over and over again. I complained about that and they gave me somebody else. Now, the coordinator was great and then there were five people who handled the delivery. They were very professional and I'm very satisfied.

My realtor recommended American Van Lines and a gentleman came and gave me an estimate. This move was back in February but it was after they left that I started going through stuff that I became a little unhappy. I had two Queen-sized beds and they reversed the frames. If he would have waited to put it together until I got there, I could have stopped it. But now I've got to get somebody to come in and undo them because they squeak. They also damaged the top of a hutch that I have that is well over six feet high.

My experience with American Van Lines was terrible. We had four different coordinators. The week before we left, we changed coordinators again and everything got lost in the transition. The driver came a day late and there weren't enough people. His trailer was broken down and he also said he got the flu and a cold. And then they broke a headboard and a dresser. I ended up going out buying a new dresser and bedroom furniture. We had to get a hotel and stay in there for five nights. The whole thing was a nightmare. I’ve got a claim on my desk but I’m not going to file it because it’s not worth the ache. The claim through the company was only going to pay $90 out of the $800 that the bed cost. I’m telling everybody not to use American Van Lines and I wouldn’t use them ever again.

My horrible experience started with the company calling me a few days before my scheduled pickup date. The date was changed because there were no drivers available. When the movers arrived one driver complained about how “inexperienced” the other mover was. Interesting the delivery movers made the same comments. To that end there were several items broken or missing. Specifically, lamps, picture frames, glasses covers for large pictures and bed frames were broken. All screws and metal structures from furniture dismantled by the movers were missing. Finally, my coffee table leg was broken when the mover was trying to determine how to dismantle the table. Consumers beware.

With American Van Lines, I would have to pay the extra if I was overweight, but if I was underweight, they would refund the difference. The coordinator was absolutely wonderful and the moving crew was fabulous. They busted their butts, packed everything up really well, and moved everything. They met us up here when they said they were going to and unpacked everything with no problems. American Van Lines made moving across the country painless and effortless.

We moved from several different places across the country and used American Van Lines before. I’ve done this three times. When we moved my wife’s mother from Southern Missouri to North Carolina, their coordinators were very helpful, straightforward and even recommended certain things and saved us money. And the two guys I worked with for the move were outstanding. They bent over backwards and were nice as they could be. We couldn’t have asked for any better guys to load and unload. They’re making money for American Van Lines so they need a raise.

Over a year ago, I shopped at all the different carriers that do house moving in my area. I asked for quotations and got different ones. Then a personable fellow whose name was Allen had a quotation that was below what other people offered. He was from American Van Lines. And since I was dealing with a national carrier, I believed they were all going to be in the same quality of service. I also wanted somebody I could trust and a big name meant something to me.

American Van Lines has been around for years and whenever I travel I see their van going down the road. So when I moved to Arizona, I went on the internet and hired them. They knew what they were talking about. They asked me the right questions and I got the right answers for them. I had an excellent experience with their moving consultant. Also, the moving coordinator lined me up for the days they would be here. They wanted me to count how many boxes I had, what kind of weight they were talking about and how much furniture I had, so they had some idea. Everything worked out well.

American Van Lines did an excellent job and I was a pleased customer. We did a local move to our new home after selling the old one. I love that the moving consultant was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Also, the moving coordinator was great, really good about scheduling, and quick to call me back when I needed a question answered. The actual crew who were in our house were nice, very considerate, careful, and they put big, old blankets down to move stuff on. Everything went smooth as requested and as they told me it would be.

I had a very good experience with American Van Lines. My husband and I retired, and we also retired from blizzards so we came to hurricanes. Brian was my coordinator and he was wonderful. He was very patient. I actually talked to him back in March when I first purchased my home in Florida and was still living in Connecticut. He called me promptly and he knew that I wasn't going to be moving for a while because I haven't sold my house yet. But he still called and explained everything.

I was moving from Louisiana to Florida and American Van Lines did exceptionally well. I got screwed by using a moving company once before because apparently, you need to have a moving company come out and look at your stuff and give you a quote which I did not do that the first time. It was the same thing with American Van lines. They also don't come out and give a quote but they've given me information. So, I took a chance in everything I read that they said they were going to do and I got confirmation when I spoke to somebody on the phone. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They don't do all the crappy stuff that the other places do. I was very impressed with the moving crew. They were on time, polite and friendly. Nothing got damaged and everything showed up. It was a great experience and I would use them again.

I was looking for somebody to help me with furniture and other family heirlooms across the country. I noticed American Van Lines when I did an internet search and I used them because of the service that I got from the person who helped me book my move. Also, I've seen their trucks around over the years. The movers were helpful and cheerful, and they worked hard. They cared about our stuff and they weren't rude when they dropped it off. However, I wasn't happy with the final move. The scheduling seemed fine upfront. And then, at the last minute, they couldn't find somebody to ship my stuff but they finally got a company that was willing to pick up the job and the folks showed up. They did the crating they needed to do and seemed fine the day the things were packed under the truck. But the unloading was less pleasing.

It was a relocation and we packed the stuff up ourselves then we realized we hated doing it. That was a Friday and American Van Lines did it by Monday. They were really good and we were in a hurry too. The guys who loaded the stuff up were good too. It was a good experience and I'd recommend them.

American Van Lines was referred to me by somebody that I worked with. Her husband is in the real estate industry and I got to use Van Lines for several moves that he recommended as a realtor and used them personally. The second move I did with them, I had to deal with a personal issue. I had to get out of my place fast because of physical abuse and they were on top of it immediately. They were sympathetic to what I was going through.

American Van Lines gave me the best price after I’ve eliminated a bunch of stuff that includes the look of the truck, timing and the wanting to go a long distance. The coordinator was great and extremely helpful even after we got here and had some problems. The consultant was very thorough and answered all the questions that we had. He was actually kind of funny and I can still call him if I needed to since I have his name and number on my phone. We moved from a house in Florida to a storage unit here in Macon so it was different since the storage unit had to be filled out. The one guy brought the truck and together with another local guy they hired, they unloaded it. I was there to help a little bit because I brought a trailer up ahead of time and moved my tools.

We went from Maryland to Florida nine months ago and everything was good. We asked AVL's moving rep if they were going to bring blankets and stuff like that and they said, "No problem." The crew was very good. It was two guys and they explained the procedure of how the move would work. They also said that it would not be transferred from one truck to another. It would come straight down here but it would stop somewhere in Tampa and they were exactly right. We checked back and forth and they were telling me how they make their trips. It was the same two guys who loaded our things that unloaded it, which was very nice. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines. Everything that they stated was fulfilled and the timing was great. Nothing was lost, ruined, or dented - everything was perfect. I would use them again.

During my relocation, I had an overall good experience with American Van Lines. I had different moving teams, one for pickup and one for delivery and they were nice. But at the time of delivery, I found some communication gap between me and the providers because they delivered on a weekend. But somehow, somebody contacted me on the phone and it got rectified. There were discrepancies at the time of delivery but everything was fine because they delivered with no items damaged and everything intact. I referred one of my colleagues to American Van Lines.

I've moved 20 times already and this time, in Georgia, the moving and packing crew was the best crew I ever had in my life. While in the California end, they were very good as well. At first, dealing with the coordinator was fine and it was more of the back-end, trying to find where our stuff was and when it was coming in. Some of the people were very nice and helpful. Others didn't return calls and hard to track down. But it's the normal average service.

I retired and I was relocating out of state with my daughter. I was looking for a moving company through Google, read the reviews and went with American Van Lines. I've spoken to their coordinators and they were good. They gave me all the information and what to expect. The delivery guys were pleasant, very informative and very professional. They explained to me what they were doing and how the stuff would be stored into the unit. They came in, packed and moved things in a timely manner. They kept me abreast of all the details and when it got delayed, they called me and let me know that it was going to be delayed and explained to me why. Overall, everything was great.

We were relocating for family and American Van Lines walked me through everything. The crew was accommodating and personable. The driver and the lead person did a tremendous job. We had one issue 'cause we were moving a piano which was a little different and they helped us with that. And although we didn't utilize the services that they offered, they helped us with the services that we got. But there were three little things that we didn't notice were missing until we needed them. We felt they were on the truck but for some reason, we didn't get them. I made a phone call about that and I was told that somebody would contact me but I never heard another word from anybody. I just dropped the issue because the items were insignificant and not worth the effort. Other than that, they were efficient and on time.

I looked online for the highest rated moving company and American Van Lines was on the site that I found. Their coordinator was very good and the packers were wonderful too. However, we're told that it would take a short number of days to get our things to our destination but they came early in the given window. They got there a day before closing but we had found out that might happen, so we were prepared. We had asked the people whose home we were buying, through the Realtor, if we could get it early and we were able to get in the house early. And that was the only issue we had. The movers were really sweet and amazing fellows. And all in all, it was a good experience. Nothing was broken and missing. So, they did a fine job.

We relocated and we had three moving coordinators from American Van Lines. The two have been very on top of things and we’re still using one coordinator who is energetic and nice for our upcoming move. The crew was also great. We’ve been in touch with American Van Lines in the past and our expectations have been met each and every time.

American Van Lines is great. Their rep around town is really good. I had them about a year ago in November when I left from an apartment to own a house. They’re tremendous. The guys were very fragile doing my furniture, wrapping it. They were very calm and collective while they're moving everything. Khadija, the moving coordinator, was amazing. She'd tell me, "They're coming now. They're leaving now. They're doing this, they're doing that." She would call me during the day and say how they're doing. They were so polite and so on time. Nothing was as that good ever in my whole life. It's on point with everything. American Van Lines have been tremendous and very caring like they're moving their own furniture. I can't ask for better and I recommend them.

We have a lot of stuff in storage and the job relocation isn't quite complete yet, so we're still in limbo with the job. It's a very complicated move because American Van Lines is going to move us yet again soon. Being able to put things in storage was wonderful. American Van Lines' people did a great job and were very helpful and professional. I appreciated their help a lot. I was very pleased with everything about the whole process. The movers were very polite and seemed like they were very well-trained. If I have to move again, I would probably go back to them.

I was in North Carolina and I had to move to Massachusetts. I was just starting to do my research when I picked up something in the mail about American Van Lines. So, I put them in the list of people I should look into. The guy who organized the move all together was great and nice. He took care of everything. However, there was one little disconnect that happened. I had to move my stuff from my house, which I sold and I had to close on, into storage and I didn't know how long it's going to be in there. I had the same guy who coordinated all of this and then moved it out of storage up to Massachusetts. Some of the directions that were originally given were not passed on to the next group because when my things arrived up here, the bed was put on a lot of things.

American Van Line's coordinator was very helpful. She was friendly and seemed to be pretty upbeat about the crew that was coming out to help with me. What I paid have been a little bit less than what she quoted me and that was nice. The movers were also very professional. They had a lead guy and he seemed to be on top of the other ones. They were all nice and asked questions, "Should we do this? Should we not do that?" When we got to our new house, he made sure that everybody paid attention to where we wanted things to go. It was an overall a good experience and I've recommended them to a few of our friends.

I used American Van Lines for retirement about six months ago. I did an internet search for moving van companies and I found them. The coordinator was pretty thorough and the crew was great. The driver was really professional - he told me everything that he was doing, what his crew was going to be doing and asked me if I needed anything special. They were all very good. American Van Lines gave me a good estimate over the phone that was very accurate. They were also able to work within my schedule because I was moving out of a condo that had restrictions. I already moved out my personal belongings and so the movers went in the condo with the supervision of my dad and helped pack up everything and move it without even me being there.

We were moving back to Philadelphia since selling our home in Florida. Most of our stuff was sold but we brought some personal stuff back and a lot of my own paintings, which they packed for me. The American Van Lines coordinator was very honest because when they picked up our stuff, they gave me credit since it didn’t weigh enough and I would have never known they over quoted it. The people who came were very nice and delivered when they can. They were also there the whole process. The crew delivered it very quickly and everything arrived in good condition. We had a great experience with American Van Lines.

My husband and I were moving from Buffalo, New York to Knoxville, Tennessee. Both of us are starting with our PhD programs. The quote we got from AVL was accurate and the actual payment came under the quote which was nice. However, towards the end when we actually had to move, it was a little confusing. There were some fluctuations in the dates and there were changes with the people who were handling our account various times.

I built a house so I contacted American Van Lines for our move five months ago. We went with them because we were quoted $700 for one night with one truck but I ended with $1,210. The coordinator was good however, the process wasn't explained in the beginning. They knew exactly since I gave them the exact amount of furniture and rooms over the phone. The delivery team dropped some furniture pieces and broke a leg of one of my real expensive ones. I was also not acquainted with the different rates of insurance and they explained that they’re not going to pay very much on it. I'm in the process of turning it back to. Another thing, with one truckload, it shouldn't take them long given there were three guys. I wouldn't use American Van Lines again and we're not pleased with what happened with the quote. Their quote could have been a little bit closer to target.

They also contacted me and they knew exactly what they were doing. One of the guys who was logging in the boxes, we were both guessing how many boxes and he was really close. The person who assisted me with the move answered every question and got everything lined up. He kept me informed of what was going on so it was easy. Even the drivers contacted me and told me where and when they were. They had a different local truck that went all the way across without any issues. I was surprised that everything went so smooth and made it to Washington within the time frame that they told me it would. American Van Lines was one of the better experiences I've had dealing with companies that do online and over the phone and never really meet.

Other companies got back too late and one had a better price but were not as together. He got a crew from Sacramento who met him at the house and got everything disabled, packed and loaded into the van on a Sunday. They got everything well done on Monday. We had a plan to meet in Tennessee about a week later and we ended on a Friday. He was right on time.

I heard about American Van Lines from my daughter. They moved her from Baltimore to Texas because of a nasty divorce. They had to go to her husband's house to get things and they handled things very professionally. I'm 80 years old and my daughter thought I should live close to one of them so I came to Texas. The crew came on time and got everything done. And if they had any questions they asked us. My daughter came down and helped and she was very pleased with them too. The storm was close to my house so we kept adjusting them for one reason or another. They went with the tide and they said to not get upset about it. I said I'm so sorry that I had to keep changing things. They were very gracious about the whole thing. American Van Lines was fabulous and I was so thrilled with them. They were dependable, pleasant and everything they did was really great. If I was concerned about anything, they made sure that was taken care of.

We sold our house in Florida and I wanted to move up to Massachusetts to be closer to my daughter and better jobs. Our move with American Van Lines was smooth. They came at the time they were supposed to come and did everything. I asked for the kitchen and the mirrors to be packed and they were out pretty quickly. We then left the next day. We've only been here for two days when they showed up and they put the furniture into the house. The coordinator, Allan, was there beside me 100% of the time and my stuff all came well before the time period they gave me. I took the guaranteed estimate by poundage and it was right on and they didn't charge me any extra. It was a really nice experience. They came in, I signed off, I prepaid, and I owed nothing in the end. I would use them again and recommend to a friend.

I was moving to be close to my family. American Van Lines' coordinator was good, helpful and pretty detailed. She took down my inventory and gave me my rate. Then there was another person who got in touch with me who did the scheduling and told me what would happen. Then the movers contacted me the day before the actual move. However, the move was very late. They were supposed to come between 10:00 and 1:00 and they showed up at 8:00 pm. They said it was traffic. It put us on the road at 11:00 at night when it was supposed to be earlier in the afternoon. The moving consultant wasn't around that time. There was somebody else who contacted me, but they couldn't resolve the problem which was really irritating.

I was doing a relocation for about 800 miles. I googled movers and saw strong reviews for American Van Lines. Their rep who helped me with the set up was great. My only concern was that there was a change of shipper. They said that the company itself was not able to move my materials and that a lot of times, they will use associated shippers. I didn't sign up with them just to be handed over to a different company. They presented me with two choices and I had to choose one. I ended up having to change my target move date because of it. Other than that, the movers were fantastic, very courteous, and did very well with my items. They were a very competent crew.

If I had any issues, I would call them and they were always open. The crew was excellent too. Some of them were natives of Colombia, which is where I’m from, so we talked about that. American Van Lines was absolutely fantastic. Initially, I had a situation and they were concerned in not dealing with me. They were afraid that they were going to have a problem. I explained what the concern was and then they were fine.

I've moved a lot of times so I'm familiar with American Van Lines. I used them a month ago when I needed to relocate 800-miles for work. Ricky, the driver, could not have been any better. I used American Van Lines previously on a much bigger move because I was moving from a six-bedroom house into the townhome. And when I was moving from the townhome into an apartment unit in the same complex, I used them again and it was a very good experience. The crew was very professional, they were on time and did a great job. The guys were very helpful and very resourceful in getting things moved from a 3-storey townhome. They made sure that nothing had been broken or damaged.

American Van Lines has really good reviews so we ended up calling them. Their representatives were great. They were attentive, professional and able to take care of our needs. Everything was perfect except on the day of the move. I don't know if they've ever done a move in New York City before, but there was a big miscommunication. The truck driver had a hard time getting to my apartment because there were roads in New York City that don't allow 18-wheeler trucks. The driver called me and asked how to get here and if I can get the directions but I don't know which roads in New York City allow 18-wheelers or not.

We moved up to Hershey, Pennsylvania and a friend of mine recommended American Van Lines. The moving coordinator was good and the crew was great. They did a great job. However, they made some boo-boos and we had to file a claim, and I'm waiting to hear about the claim. They broke some things, damaged some furniture, and damaged some walls coming in. They banged some things up so we had to get it repaired.

When we moved in April, we went with American Van Lines because of the great quotes and they had positive reviews from other people’s experiences based on the web research I did. Everything was great with all the people I worked with. They packed and loaded well. The driver, Ricky, had a bit of personal problem so there was a delay but the delivery was still within the window promised so we got unloaded and running. Initially, we thought we were going into storage but it was delivered to our new home the last minute and American Van Lines managed to regroup from that. Everything turned out well.

We sold our house and put stuff in storage and now we're staying in our beach place for a while. So, we hired American Van Lines, and the moving coordinator was professional and efficient. The driver was also great, although he had a few problems getting help with unloading the items. So, he did it on his own. He was fantastic. I had an efficient and successful move.

The other transport companies that we called were dragging their feet about getting an appointment set up, so we went with American Van Lines. It was scheduled on the timeframe that we needed and the crew was very nice and considerate. They took care of our belongings and we didn't have anything broken. Our experience with them went well and it all worked out.

I called around a couple of different places to get quotes, and had a very difficult time with a couple of other moving companies. In one call, a company told me that if I couldn't tell them everything I needed to move, they can't give me a quote. With American Van Lines, I spoke to a very nice sales representative and gave him an idea of what size storage units I was moving. He asked questions like how full they were, how high it went and whether I had any expensive and fragile stuff. That guided me and then he gave me a quote. He told me he was going to pad it and I asked why. He said that when it's all over and done, it was going to be less instead of more. It was very reassuring because the price came in right within our budget and it was a very easy process.

I have used American Van Lines when I did my cross country move from the Western Coast to Eastern Coast. Their prices seemed so high when I saw them but it seemed to work fine. The move took longer than I thought because they said they would arrive on a Saturday but they arrived the next day. When I got my things after the move, I found out one of my shelf got broken. Nevertheless, I will recommend American Van Lines to my friends.

I called and left a message first, then a woman called and she was very knowledgeable. She said she would estimate the boxes but I had actually packed them on and she was patient with me as I counted them all. I was really pleased with our interaction and I got a quote within minutes. The quote was a little high 'cause I didn't end up paying that much. They were also really nice, friendly, careful and fast. I was closing on one house later that day and they made sure they changed the lunch hour to where they could meet me at the house. They were willing to get along with me and when I got there, they were done. I enjoyed the experience so much. My daughter and son-in-law moved four months later and they used American Van Lines as well on my recommendation.

I've used American Van Lines four times through the years. The moving coordinators have always been honest and fair and the price has been what they came out and estimated. Recently I relocated from Tamarac to Port Saint Lucie. The moving consultant called me a couple of days before and on the day of the move. The crew was very nice too. They did their job, didn't scratch up the wall and they were in and out quickly as they could. My TV needed crating and it arrived perfectly. Everything went well and I would recommend American Van Lines to anyone.

We moved 2 miles away and upgraded to a larger space, from a two-bedroom-one-bathroom to a three-bedroom-two-bathroom. The lady from American Van Lines I spoke to over the phone was really friendly, nice, helpful and informative. The guy in charge of the moving crew was really nice and organized. The other two guys were okay. Some of them took a smoke break during the move, which was the only thing that bothered us. We felt like we're paying them a 15-minute increment and then two of them took 30 minutes. So, they were just sitting in the truck, smoking. While the main guy was packing and organizing the vehicle. Despite that, I'm happy with my experience.

We had planned to move before Hurricane Harvey hit. We lost power and you couldn't get to our apartment. American worked with us to get a new moving date and our neighbor supervised the move. The truck ahead of schedule which was great since we living in an empty apartment.

The movers were efficient and hard working. Packed out the house on Monday, loaded the truck on Tuesday and drove through bad weather to get to us Wednesday. They unloaded the truck in the rain, and nothing got wet or left outside. They assembled what we asked for, and were prompt and courteous. I would highly recommend your service to others.

Fabian and his co-worker moved us this past week. They were amazing. They worked so hard, and never took a break. Everything made it safely, including a 2 hour trip to our new home. We were so pleased with their workmanship! I would recommend them, and this Co. to everyone. They took so much stress away from the move. Thank you so much!!!

I went online and asked what it would cost to move from Reidsville to Ayden which is 50 minutes away. I immediately got over 30 phone calls. However, American Van Lines seem to be intelligent people. I told them what I wanted and we went from there. The moving coordinator was fine, and although the crews who did the move were very nice and helpful, they were very clumsy too.

American Van Lines made my move so easy. The closing dates on the sale of my condo kept changing due to hurricane Irma and they were extremely flexible in rescheduling my moving date. They were very thorough with the paperwork, were on time and had no damage. Furniture was wrapped properly and were very respectful. I would use them again and have referred them to 3 friends who asked who I used for the move. The reason I used them was based on a friend's similar experience who is a 24 year retired Colonel in the US Army who did a lot of research and found them to have some of the best prices in our area.

We were extremely pleased with our moving experience. The movers and driver were all very helpful, friendly, and took excellent care of our belongings. We will always use American Van Lines for future moves. Thank you for making our cross country move stress-free.

I changed jobs and moved out-of-state. I used American Van Lines and they were great. I've moved several times before and they're the least I've had any kind of issue or damage. They had barely anything broken. The crew was friendly and helpful as well. They did a nice job and I was very happy. It's an excellent value overall.

Update: American Van Lines contacted us and worked with us to both compensate us for the problems we experienced as well as assure us they'd investigate why things happened the way they did. They did make us feel better about the situation in the end and helped to explain the issues. I have raised the review by 1 star as they did try to make things right but the actual move itself was very unpleasant and the effort to make things right came later than it should have.

I was relocating from Arkansas to Chicago for a job and American Van Lines assisted me with my move. It was well-planned with the help of their consultant and their coordinator was pleasant. He was able to answer all of my questions, too. Their moving crew was also helpful and put everything inside of my house. It was easy to deal with them and overall, my experience with American Van Lines was excellent.

This company accommodated the need for me to have my move across state earlier due to a hurricane approaching. They not only accommodated me but their men worked hard and fast and sat through many hours of evacuation highway traffic and finished the move with quality and pleasantry in the late night hours knowing they had a long drive back. I highly recommend this company.

We needed help in moving some furniture about 450 miles from storage to a house in the mountains. We had to have a truck transferred with a small truck to get it to the house and American Van Lines did a good job. It was satisfactory experience overall.

It's been like pulling teeth to get this company to deliver our furniture. They picked up the furniture on 8/18/2017 and as of 9/2/2017, we still have no idea where the furniture is. The moving coordinator, Marcus ** is incompetent, the Customer Service Manager, Yesenia **, does not understand the meaning of "service" so her title is a farce. Araminta, the dispatching coordinator is, quite simply, a liar. She told me on 9/1/2017 that my furniture would be delivered on 9/2/2017 between 12:00-4:00 PM. I spent four hours waiting for the moving men and no one showed up and no one called. AMERICAN VAN LINES IS THE WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER AND THEY ARE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I only pray they have not destroyed or lost my furniture.

Yesterday, we had movers from American Van lines pack and move all of our belongings onto their truck. We had four movers here for the entire day. They did a fantastic job throughout the entire day! Very professional, very hard working all day. They wrapped all of our furniture and some of our unpacked belongings, and we're careful about not banging into or scratching doors and walls. I have heard several people and read many reviews about negative experiences with other moving companies. This one, happily, is the opposite; a very positive and grateful experience, so far, with American Van Lines. I am hoping that, once our furniture arrives at our new house, we have a similar positive experience with the moving crew there. Thankful and grateful!

American Van Lines movers FAR exceeded our expectations. We needed to move all my mother's belongings from Oregon to her home in Nevada. We had called local movers initially, and when we got no response, tried an internet moving company. A new experience into the unknown for us, but the best move we have ever made.

The service provided by American Van Lines proved well beyond the norm. The moving crew were extremely careful with our items. They were a well trained group of individuals who worked as a team. Moving is never easy. This move involved moving my Mother from Venice, FL into assisted living in MN. As in any moving experience, there were a few glitches, but they were taken care of immediately and fully to my satisfaction. Everything was done over the phone and the internet, but I never felt my move was ignored or lost in cyberspace. Good on American Van Lines!

I moved from Wisconsin to Maine. All my things had to go into storage in NC for three weeks which meant double the handling and added truck mileage. My actual delivery was two weeks past the delivery window time. American Van Lines gave me a discount for the inconvenience. I had a very extensive fine art collection that included large paintings and framed works under glass, plus a piano. I packed most things myself except the art & furniture. The packers did a great job wrapping everything. I was thrilled that after 2.5 months in their care I lost nothing except a couple table legs snapped and were lost.

Overall good experience. The only problem we had was that when we booked the move, we ordered two garment boxes, which did not come with the moving truck. Everyone was very nice and helpful, from booking to delivery of the our belongings. When booking the move, you are dealing with someone that is not local, so we did not get notified about a time for the move, from a local representative until I called the Friday before our Monday move. We did get an email and call soon after that. The two gentlemen that come to move us, Mike and "K", were wonderful to work with. They were careful with our belongings, and worked efficiently. Highly recommend these folks.

Movers came on time. Also called when they were close. Movers were polite. Showed up at forwarding address in a good time frame. Good experience. The customer service representative helped me work through a concern with the paperwork. She was very professional.

Moving from Plano, TX to Marshall, TX - Customer Service was outstanding and they bent over backwards to accommodate the scheduling changes we had to make concerning our move. Communication was top notch. The loading/unloading crew was outstanding. We couldn't ask for any better treatment all the way around from anybody else. We did a lot of research on moving companies and made a lot of inquiries about service before we decided American Van Lines was the best of them all. We highly recommend American Van Lines to anyone.

I hired American Van Lines for a local move. They called 2 days before our move to ask if we could change the date to July 4th, which we did and received a discount for. We were assured that they would be sending 4 of their own employees. This was not the case. A third party contractor arrived at our house in a refrigerated truck, with 2 other people that were not experienced in moving furniture. Two dressers were extremely damaged in the move along with several walls scuffed in our new home. We were told to submit a claim, which would take up to 120 days to review and determine if they would repair/replace our furniture. Never again!

A few years ago I moved across the country. I got quotes from several companies and American Van Lines was the highest, but I hired them because of their high review scores. I was told I would have a single point of contact, which turned out not to be true, as over the course of my move I was passed along to at least 3 people. The driver in charge of the pickup communicated very poorly and not only made me think that my stuff wouldn't fit on the truck, he also didn't know I had purchased extra insurance which left me waiting quite a while after everything was boxed and loaded for him to make phone calls to the office.

We were very pleased with the American Van Lines Team. They were helpful, efficient, and professional. The move went fine and we would recommend American Van Lines to everyone. All items that we moved were accounted for. Every time I thought something was missing we found another box that the movers had put away because we had no more room in the condo.

Move from Kansas City to Raleigh, NC - The driver arrived on the first day of the window provided and did an excellent job packing the apartment. He then delivered the furniture only a few days later, far earlier then we expected. All the items arrived without any damage exceeding our expectations.

Great experience with a move from Seattle Washington to Fort Worth Texas. I was quoted at the cheapest rate among the big moving companies. They provided a binding estimate that remained exactly the same once the move was completed. In terms of the move itself...fantastic. The movers arrived early and worked nonstop to load the truck the SAME day. The move was supposed to take two days but the movers worked for over 10 hours nonstop to complete everything in one day. Additionally, they arrived in 4 days! A day earlier than estimated. Fantastic experience all around!

You will never find a better move leader than Mike. This was our 3rd requested move with him as Captain. He works very hard to get the job done FAST and RIGHT! The staff member Renee that handled all of our date change (4) issues was unbelievable - she ROCKS!!!

I am moving long distance from NYC to Missouri. I got an estimate for the move from AVL in early April (3 months ago), signed the contract, paid the deposit. The company was fairly nice at the beginning. Things got worse as the moving date was approaching. I only got a pick-up window, not a specific pick-up date, and I was trying to figure out which day will the movers be actually coming. This was difficult, as the consultant was impossible to get hold of (not picking up the phone or returning calls). Three days before the pick-up window I still did not know the day, but they promised me to let me know at least two days in advance.

American Van Lines did a great job for us! The price was reasonable. Thank you Peter. The follow through with Veronica was exceptional and the driver/supervisor, Johnny, was polite, efficient and on time to load and unload... with super crews! Highly recommend this Van Line!

RUN AWAY! Seriously! Run away from this company and DO NOT look back! I was fooled by all of these "good" reviews, until I realized over half of them were amended complaints. This company is so far from professional. It is frightening. Their customer service, once you sign the contract (that they receive commissions for), is non-existent, and utterly atrocious! I signed a binding contract on 5/26/17 for a move in the window of 6/25 to 6/27 from Kansas City to Sparks, Nevada, and paid a deposit over $1,600.

Moved from Southern California to Texas. Movers did an excellent job picking up and delivering items. They showed up on time and packed fragile items carefully so they wouldn't get scratched or break. They were courteous and conscientious. Everything arrived in good condition. Overall I was happy with the move.

Great experience and excellent customer service. Movers were on time and were very professional. Treated our stuff with great care. Our stuff was picked up on time. Unpacked items were shrink wrapped and delivered on time. The only issue was the estimate was done over the phone and the final cost was almost double. Didn't have any options but to pay the amount.

There were no surprises at all during the moving process. While thought the cost was a little high for a local move, I have to give credit where it's due in that the total final cost matched the estimated total. What's more the delivery team arrived exactly when stated and even beat me to the new location. You could tell that the team was professional as they were very efficient and effective during the loading and unloading and pickup/drop-off process.

My recommendation for this review is not the best. The very first lady I talked to was not honest to me. I asked her the same question three times and she said "no" all three times. This was about hidden fees. She had me telling her the items that I would be moving over the phone while driving instead of letting me wait until I got home and complete the inventory online. I told her I just went through a 30 mph zone doing 39 mph also did 45 mph in a 35 mph zone. I could not concentrate on driving and trying to list the items that I wanted to move. Of course I did not remember 14+ items and had to make a call back. I then asked for another person. I was missing an item. So far, I had five items that were damaged. I have not finished unpacking my boxes but I will do so within the time allotted. I pray there will be no more damaged items.

Everything was simple and perfectly executed. Every single person I dealt with, from my phone calls with Victoria to my conversations with my mover, Carlos, I was treated with the utmost respect. I was extremely impressed. My mom's belongings were all delivered and set up with no issues. I would highly recommend this company without hesitation! Thank you!

Move went smoothly. They picked up our stuff in Florida on Thursday and had it delivered to Maryland by Monday... on a holiday weekend at that! The only hiccup we had was getting some details right on the paperwork but eventually it was handled.

Great experience from beginning to end. Parissa was excellent. This move was last minute and I was stranded. She worked endlessly to get me a deal and have my items moved the very next day if you can believe it with a decent price. I owe her big time. Victoria who then became my personal moving coordinator, I couldn't ask for anything more. She was fantastic. She called and kept me updated every step of the way, even weekends. I am truly grateful and the drivers were extremely professional and personable. Sorry I just remember Rhett in Atlanta and Johnny in Los Angeles. This is such an unprofessional company, I will advise everyone to be careful when you deal with this company, they don't honor the commitments. I booked a move and movers were supposed to be at my place at 9:00 am, now it's 3:30 pm still no one is showing up, have called the company multiple times and they disconnect the call, or says the driver on his way and contact me, but no contact with the driver. Just now spoke with the supervisor, the lady was more unprofessional and said the driver is not serving today and we don't know when driver will serve us again. Very much disappointed. PLEASE DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

I was very worried about my move from NJ to Fl. Although I was handheld through the entire process I was still concerned. But all my fears were calmed when the truck and the very professional workmen showed up on time and then delivered my things also on time. Nothing is missing or broken. I would highly recommend American Van Lines. Another very impressive thing is that I was called every step of the way. I was never left guessing what was going on. Great job.

I have never hired a mover before so wasn't sure what to expect but the reviews were good. Was impressed how well they were wrapping big stuff. Concerned that they were just throwing boxes on dolly and bouncing around but they loaded fast. Ed complained a lot about too much stuff and too many small boxes but we had to pack things to where we could handle on the other side. So tough. On the delivery side, they were definitely in a hurry to get done but what really pissed us off was the serious comments (we have a good sense of humor) by Tyrone to my bf like... "Lemme tell you a secret, have a yard sale (meaning we had too much stuff)". My bf replied there was nothing there we did not use.

Movers showed up a little early. They were very efficient loading our belongings on the truck while being gentle with our fragile items. They also arrived earlier than scheduled at our new home and were, again, very efficient in unloading our belongings with care. Very pleased with the way our move went. It was a positive experience. I highly recommend American Van Lines.
