    See my email showing how we were treated by Allied, they left a box inside the closet and refused to deliver it, they broke a dresser and damaged the mechanism to handle the mattresses. We called several times about the box and they blamed us for signing the forms. Refusing to take responsibility for it.

    Regrettably, I used Coleman/Allied Van Lines for my out-of-state move in June 2022. Overall, the experience was nightmarish and traumatic. More specifically, it was characterized by: 1) a lack of consistent and clear communication from the outset regarding my exact delivery date; 2) a failure to provide timely updates after my “pack, load, and haul” confirmed by David ** on June 9th unexpectedly changed into a “pack and load” on June 16th less than a week before my scheduled move; 3) a failure to adhere to the delivery date of June 24th confirmed on June 10th by David V. The shipment arrived July 12th, seventeen days late; 4) damaged leather and handcrafted solid wood furniture along with other items; 5) and a stolen television.

    The final cost was $6,441.71 for services poorly rendered in the form of a seventeen-day delay and damaged and missing items. I am relieved that this ordeal with Coleman American/Allied Van Lines is over. I would never recommend this detestable, unscrupulous moving company to any shipper. The experience was a nightmare and the ultimate cost was high. The anxiety, frustration, regret all negatively impacted my health and overall well-being. Next time, I will choose a mover who will honor the terms of the signed agreement, who will work with trained, experienced movers, and who will be both ethical and reliable. To be sure, I will choose better. Good luck with your move and choose wisely.

    It started with the 3 gentlemen who picked up my furniture and household items. 2 hrs late and 1 was not suppose to be lifting. Never met driver like I was told I would when I signed contract. My stuff was sent to warehouse where it sat for a month before a driver could pick up. My coordinator never called me about delays and when I called her she had no info about my shipment. Lost a stool and was 17 days late with delivery. The whole experience was a 2 on the scale of 1-5. What I was told would happen if I chose Allied really never happened.

    A bit of inexperience for the help that was sent. My 65" TV that didn't get crated was attempted to be wrapped in just a moving pad with the stand still attached before I said something and brown wrapped it basically myself. Finding stuff broken such as my desktop monitor that was packed in a 4.5 carton with barely any extra packing paper for protection or support and not labeled correctly enough for loading properly in preventing this matter. Most of boxes were soft topped and wrinkled/smushed. There was no help sent for the driver at my temporary living residence so I was helping haul stuff in or the driver was carrying things by himself; which in turn led to more damage when a ceiling fan globe was shattered from it. The customer service was very good and everyone was nice and they took care of me otherwise, but I am nervous to see how everything that went into storage fares out to be honest.

    In my opinion, Allied Van Lines does not put their emphasis on doing what is best for the customer. I was not told they would need to send a shuttle for the initial pick-up. Loading the shuttle initially meant my things were handled multiple times before getting on the delivery truck. Because Allied accepted more moves than they have trucks, the driver of my load had to disassemble much of my furniture as well as unpacked multiple boxes, exposing items to breakage, in order to fit my things on the truck. The crew who loaded my things on the initial shuttle truck were very unprofessional and their work ethic was sloppy. I felt they did not respect my things. They were not careful and diligent as they worked. The office personnel were very efficient and communicated well. I had expected to receive a similar experience with the movers, but I did not.

    Highly do NOT recommend using Allied for any moves. When our things were delivered, a majority of our items had MOUSE POOP inside...even when we had perfectly sealed boxes with no food inside. Our belongings were in storage for less than a week, so the warehouse must be pretty dirty for this to happen. Further, when I tried contacting our customer service rep (Katie) about numerous issues she was unresponsive. I have 3 emails completely unanswered. Lastly, there are also missing pieces of belongings and one item was swapped completely. I hate to write this because the actual movers who came to my home were lovely, but everything else about the process has been very disappointing.

    STAY FAR AWAY!! I really have no idea where to start. EVERYTHING went wrong. If you can picture the worst moving experience. That was it. One thing that I have to say is they used unrepeatable Spanish slang word among other derogatory words at my little sister thinking we didn't understand Spanish. Broke stuff, put gashes in the walls, were leaving and the place we moved into, most of them were sitting outside laughing rather than moving. Threw the furniture in one room on top of each other, they moved a table that had my gaming computer worth worth of 5k dropped it on the floor breaking it. They said they would bring boxes, they never did. Then said they would not take anything that was not in a box so they moved hardly anything. Luckily I had a Transit Van so we had move everything ourselves, it took up about 15 trips. They dumped all the clothes on the ground.

    I refused to sign the piece of paper that they did the job and didn't damage any walls, because they did. He tried to get me to sign it right next to a huge gash they made. Then trying to call customer service was a joke. They just gave us attitude. They cost us worth of 20k in damages. Waiting to talk to someone about the job and try to deal with insurance, they started sneakily taking out small amounts of money when we found out we put a stop to it and now they are trying to take us to court. Moving is not a fun experience and they made it hell for my family so I am glad they want to go to court so we can counter sue them and they can hear my family's story. Oh and they came back from lunch impaired. I do think I could have let all this go but calling my little sister a ______I can't let it go. HORRIBLE.

    I was very disappointed with my overall experience. My furniture was picked up on time and brought to a local warehouse to be loaded for a cross-country move. I had an 11-day delivery window and my furniture didn't leave the warehouse until after my guaranteed window, as in it sat in a warehouse for 17 days. My furniture arrived 5 days late and I was left paying rent for an unusable apartment, which Allied refused to reimburse me for because "the delay didn't prevent me from taking possession of my home". When you pay the cost for the higher-end moving company, I expect to at least receive good customer service and acknowledgment that they did a poor job.

    My entire experience from Chris, the salesperson, to Gary and Dillon, the men who moved me, was just the most pleasurable experience that one could hope for while going through such a stressful transition. They were consistently pleasant despite some very challenging logistics and weather conditions, as well as totally professional and respectful of me, the two properties and my belongings. The men worked so hard and the price was also quite reasonable, considering all things they had to go through - heavy rain, mud and ice and shuttling my stuff in smaller trucks to the tractor trailers that were too large to come to either house.     We moved from Huntsville Alabama to Long Island NY in July of 2021. I was promised an expert crew in packing and that it would take two to three days to load and send the truck out. We made airline arrangements for ourselves according to this information so we could see the truck off properly. The crew that arrived was inexperienced and many items arrived damaged, wet and late. We had to incur the cost of changing flights back to NY two separate times. It took almost two weeks to receive our property.

    They loaded two trucks in Alabama and then put everything on one truck to go to NY in a major rain storm. It was horrible, and what made it worse was we took the extra insurance and all they reimbursed us for was 350.00. No one ever explained we had to keep the damaged goods, we were told to take pictures and send them with the claim which we did. Because we did not have the actual damaged goods they would not honor the policy. Buyer beware for sure! We had a 5,000.00 almost brand new mattress that was water damaged just to name a few of the things that were ruined.

    Allied picked up household 11/08/2021. Moving from Michigan to Georgia. Guaranteed delivery 11/12/2021 - 11/20/2021. After paying someone to be at new address for the guaranteed delivery dates, Allied was a no show, no call. After several phone calls and emails, the household was repacked in large boxes, put on common carrier and sent to local storage co in Georgia to have delivered. Goods finally showed up 12/22/2021. Hired Allied because they guaranteed no brokers or outside shipping and a guaranteed delivery date. Received none of the guarantees. Of course the shipping fee had to be paid in full before they would finally deliver. They also stated $100 per day late fee. When I filed the claim for 32 days late, I was informed that section 306 and page 65 of their contract only allowed a $2,600 payment. The contract that I never received. Now no return phone calls or return email.

    Allied contracted driver didn't work with us to create a customer check-off sheet as required so we did not have our own itemized inventory list of our belongings. Driver did not use his own inventory list because, "the guys at the Arkansas warehouse who helped were supposed to do it." Over a dozen of our containers were lost at that location. Most were returned several months later by another driver "as a favor" to our original driver, not because Allied was bothering to manage our crisis. What didn't make it back to us was our large electronics box with thousands of dollars worth of our computer equipment including our custom desktop PC, monitors and numerous other devices. Any idea why that might be? The guys "helping" at the Arkansas warehouse might.

    Allied asked for itemized receipts of the contents, which we provided, totaling roughly $3K. They then said we couldn't prove that any of those things were in the boxes since we packed them ourselves and gave us $350. Do they think we should have trusted them to pack our things too? Our experience was horrifying. The only positive was our coordinator at the contracted company who tirelessly tried to help us, but ultimately couldn't recover our lost computer equipment. She had our bill cut in half, but we would rather pay full price and not lose sleep wondering who is violating our privacy and exploiting our amazing computer because Allied has no quality control for its drivers and evidently no effective theft prevention policies. I recommend avoiding Allied at all costs and deeply regret hiring them.

    Company was most concerned about getting paid the huge $14K bill. That’s what they did best. We paid for two days of packing and one for loading. But the packers showed up at 3 pm and left at 5:30 pm on day 1. On day 2 showed up at 2:30 and left at 6:30. We had to pack 75 boxes ourselves to be sure they could pack and load on day 3. They showed up at 11am and worked until 7:30pm, but got truck packed. The crew broke our toilet handle off, left their trash on our street, and ran over our street sign upon leaving, again not notifying anyone or fixing it. We’ve never been more tired and disappointed in a company and do not believe we got anywhere near the $14K in value for what we paid. The only positive is that our load was transferred to another truck and delivered to storage by a good driver, who communicated well, met me at storage as planned, and unloaded as expected.     Last month, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law moved from Florida to New York, and, due to health issues, were unable to oversee the move themselves.     Disgusting the lack of expertise and accountability this company has. Damaged multiple items and after a $15,000 move they are refusing to pay $800 worth of damages that they caused. They claim that since I did not alert them before the driver drove off that they can't determine when the damage is done. I would like to know how moving a 4 bedroom 3500 square foot home with items in boxes that can not be inspected until all items are open, how it's possible to at the time of them unloading the truck to catch every item and its condition.     Allied Van Lines/Reebie Storage and Moving of Chicago intentionally uses business practices that makes it impossible for them to be held responsible for missing goods. One-sided contracts are presented just before a scheduled move date, leaving the customer no option but to sign. Inventory and tracking are done in a manner which is unintelligible, using techniques that were obsolete 50 years ago. Bar codes are not used. UPS, Fedex and USPS track millions of packages; Allied/Reebie cannot track 300 boxes in a move. Customers are forced to sign for deliveries which they cannot verify.

    Allied/Reebie will not cover the value of missing packed by owner boxes, claiming that they cannot list contents on the inventory since their people have not seen the contents. This is contrary to shipping practices of UPS, Fedex and USPS, where the shipper declares the contents and value. We paid them $14,600, of which $3,000 was for insurance. Over $3,000 of goods were not delivered but the claim was denied "since we had signed for them", but due to their inventory and tracking practices there was no way to verify what was not delivered.

    Unfortunately, I've had a really awful experience with Coleman/Allied when they moved me from Nashville to Los Angeles. There were nearly 30+ incidents that I had to reach out to customer service about, such as a mover not letting me know his mask broke and going maskless in my home (after informing the crew I have health conditions), a mover blowing his nose and not washing his hands afterward (I had to ask him to use hand sanitizer before touching my things), not notifying me when my items arrived in storage, losing 3 of my boxes, multiples boxes being crushed, my service provider in LA being switched without notifying me, not organizing or packing my immediate storage pick-up items correctly, and much more.

    Coleman didn't even apologize when a supervisor reached out to me and left a voicemail and email. She also refused to give me any money back. I called back to express my dissatisfaction and asked if she could call me back so I could speak with her directly, but she has yet to reach back out. I also reached out to Allied corporate's customer service and was told I'd receive a response within 1 business day. It's been 3 business days and I haven't heard anything. I cannot recommend this company at all. The Allied moving company on the LA end even said that they don't like working with Coleman because of how it conducts its business. Mistakes happen, but the amount of problems has been excessive and its customer service has been nonexistent.

    Thanks reaching to me for the review. I am sorry to say that I am very disappointed with Siracusa Van Lines for a number of reasons:

    A) Requested a full service move, and was told that unpacking is included for the corporate clients and not for personal move! Very poor communication.
    B) was charged $4800 above the estimated price, I was over 1600 pound of the estimated weight yet, packaging charges were increased from 4K to 6K.
    C) A number of items that were dismantled by the crew, were not assembled. The operations manager did not make any effort to understand my concern and help. Study table was left in another room on the pretext that it could not get in to the study. We were able to put it in study.

    D) I feel that Chris ** did not allocate sufficient time to deliver my goods and assembly of the furniture etc..

    I paid so much money and received a very poor service. I will not recommend Siracusa Van lines to anyone including my staff who will be relocating. I will submit my review to the website as well as this is not acceptable. Thanks. Indresh

    I had Coleman Allied come to my house and make a thorough inventory of items to move from Lawrenceville, Ga to Austintown, Oh. Kelly ** went through the house and provided a quote on Nov 19, 2020. The quote was higher than others, but all seemed legit. We agreed the cost would be higher if the move happened after mid-May(busy season). About 10% increase. We paid for the BEST insurance available---full replacement cost for damages items. 9 months to submit claims if damage occurred. The "estimated" weight was 17,962 pounds!!

    When we purchased a new home and sold the Georgia home, the price for the move in June was 20% higher than the earlier quote and 10% higher than the increase expected. We accepted, changed "packing date" and let Allied choose how many packers were needed--and they came and went over 3 days--and did NOT complete the packing--the Driver of the truck had to complete the packing on loading day.

    Loading day was June 9, 2021 in Lawrenceville, Ga. Delivery day was June 15, 2021 in Austintown, Oh. The driver is a wonderful man, and I feel bad so much damage was generated during the loading and travel from Georgia to Ohio. But, something terrible happened during loading, during travel-- As items were unloaded carefully, damage of all sorts was observed and noted, and after completion and over the next 2 months as items were uncovered and unboxed and unwrapped--the CARNAGE was beyond comprehension.

    I have counted about 85 "furniture" items including chairs, sofas, ottomans, desks, beds, dressers, stools, etc---and 26 of these items required professional repair or TOTAL REPLACEMENT!! Legs broken off, headboard and footboard spindles broken off, gouges and chips on edges and feet of furniture, scratches across tops and a TV stand demolished, an executive desk deemed totaled, a stand demolished and broken items packed pathetically.

    I requested a claim of damage form and it was immediately sent and the FIRST claim was submitted about June 20, 2021-- a few days after unloading in Ohio. The first of MANY claims. The allied claims adjuster for our claims was/is Mya **. She spelled my last name incorrectly multiple times and often in e-mails let me know a claim was finished and "that is the end"---ignoring a 9 month window to file claims.

    A wonderful Representative came to our new home and observed the damage claimed on the first claim and took pictures and submitted the pictures and estimates of damage costs and replacement costs. This independent contractor repaired Broken furniture removed scratches, gouges and all sorts of damage when "fixable".

    The DESTROYED furniture and bowls, mats, etc were claimed for replacement costs. Some items were PAID to replace immediately--many items had actual receipts submitted for payment. A desk was submitted for $600 replacement cost --the adjuster for Allied claimed the desk replacement was $300. After almost 75 days--a receipt was submitted for $689 and full payment was made by allied.

    The damage was terrific--the WORK to get fully funded was horrific---and there remain 2 dining room chairs with "oil/dirt/grease" stains running parallel across the seats that have as yet not been seen by an agent for allied, and pictures have been submitted by me!! the claims agent--before seeing the pictures, made the statement the damage was "water stains"--NOT!!

    Now--the allied agent claims all the damage MUST be acknowledged and submitted the day of UNLOADING!! Believe me, it would have taken a week or 2 to unload and inspect all the furniture for damage during this move. And--claims have been submitted for weeks as we unwrap and move furniture around to its proper location.

    To date--24 furniture items have been repaired or replaced--like pulling teeth--it hurts!! The 2 chairs remain and likely will never be recognized--such is the way the allied "system" appears to work. One last item to consider--the original agent "estimated" 17,962 pounds for the entire load---the actual weight as submitted by the truck driver was slightly less than 15,000 pounds!! Yep--almost 20% LESS than was paid to deliver!!

    So consider--dealing with so much DAMAGE and DESTRUCTION, dealing with claims agent who is unhelpful unless PUSHED. and--a 10% over price increase and a 20% over weight-- I will let YOU decide about using allied for any move anywhere anytime. And, this was NOT our first rodeo---We have moved from Niagara Falls, NY to Cleveland, Oh and from Cleveland, OH to Lawrenceville, Ga using major movers---with those 2 moves combined, only 1 caster on a small stand was damaged. Buyer Beware----or be prepared to be battered and beaten after unloading!! John **

    Movers placed tape directly on wood which damaged the wood when removed. Three boxes were damaged by a large amount of liquid (no rain either day of move). A box marked glassware/fragile arrived with holes gouged in the side. Movers lost the legs of our kitchen table which they removed. We were told that the furniture would be stored in a Coleman warehouse in Beaufort SC. The furniture was stored in a moving truck and not in a warehouse.     I got in touch with Allied Van Lines for my move from Detroit, MI to Fremont, CA in June 2021 and my experience has been very disappointing. First of all, my stuff was shipped in two separate containers, of which, one arrived a week later than the guaranteed delivery date and the other arrived 3 weeks later than the guaranteed delivery date. Moreover, the second shipment had a number of broken items (TV, TV stand, side table, book shelf and a couple of kitchen items inside the cartons) which was the biggest disappointment. As a result, I had to go through the headache of submitting multiple claims for damage and delays and also take the effort to purchase all the damaged items again.

    My damage claim was accepted for the amount requested but my delay claim was not lived up to. I was told there would be a reimbursement of $75 for each day that my shipment was delayed, instead, when the delay claim was finalized I was told that only $50 would be given just for the first 7 days of the delay since part of the shipment had arrived by then. The second shipment (the majority shipment) that was delayed for a much longer time was completely ignored in this claim process. I tried making multiple calls and sending multiple emails but my request was not honored. I would never recommend Allied Van Lines to anyone for their move.

    The movers who did our loading were very timely and worked diligently and carefully with our belongings. However, the delivery experience was quite different. The delivery was very timely, it arrived about a week after loading, but our things were piled everywhere. We had to sort through all the boxes and move them around to put into the correct rooms ourselves. This is difficult for 2 older people! Several items were damaged, some had to be discarded. We have a large aluminum folding ladder that is missing, item # 365, pg. 5

    This is very large and heavy ladder which can be used as scaffolding, a difficult item to lose. We have contacted the new owner of our old house to see if it may have been left behind. It is not there either. Our name is attached to it. We have photos of the damages. We have not unpacked everything yet, hopefully we will not have more damages.     Nightmare. Packers arrived with one experienced individual and 2 clueless 18 year olds doing summer labour. Items were missed, valuable goods smashed, furniture broken and some items packed things they shouldn't. But it gets worse - Baileys uses 3rd party (MSS) for things like disconnecting fridge/washing machines, moving light fixtures and TVs. This firm failed to turn up both for packing and at destination, charges thousands for minor tasks, didn't have the right tools and had an aggressive poor attitude. Don't go near this hot mess.     PLEASE READ BEFORE USING ALLIED!!!! First off, I have moved domestically and internationally via professional moving services more than 5 times in the past decade, and have never had a worse experience. I would STRONGLY ADVISE using anyone else, including doing the work yourself, as our experience ended up costing us much MUCH more than we paid for the service ($14,000 BTW...)

    First Major Issue: 22 Days Late. We had several quotes for full service moving (full packing, moving, unloading, and treadmill service). We chose Allied due to the fact that they had "availability" and could get us into our home 2 - 6 days after our load day. Giving us a month to get settled in before our planned summer vacation. Not only did our things take 30+ days to arrive, we had ZERO visibility to when they would arrive. We lived for 4 weeks on hard floors, air mattresses, dining out, and little entertainment for our kids (we have a 3 and 5 year old btw...). The delay also resulted in us cancelling out July 4th family vacation, as we only brought a weeks worth of items.

    2nd Major Issue: Many Items Never Showed Up! After half of our summer, and missed holiday were spent on hardwood floors and camping chairs our moving day arrived... We were sooo relieved. That was until the movers completed the unloading and we did not have any of our living room couches, our dining table, or our treadmill. So our floor living continues.... We are now 8 days past the unpack date, and still have no idea when these critical pieces of furniture will arrive. It turns out our couches were shipped to Michigan, and our other times never left Houston (our move was from Texas to Tennessee)... I have reached out via LinkedIn to Sr. Leadership who have been completely unresponsive, and all I can get out of the Customer Service group is that "they are working on it."

    3rd Major Issue: More damage than any other move in the past. I do understand that some damage can be done in transit, but we had about 10 boxes that look like they were left in the rain (mold growing on the inside) after sitting water logged in the Texas, or Tennessee, or Michigan heat for weeks and weeks. We are now asking that we be reimbursed for a U-Haul and gas, so that I can drive 10 hours to Michigan to pick up my own things... Otherwise, we are running the risk of not having seating or dining furniture in place when family is scheduled to visit in August... YOU WILL LOSE OUT ON MONTHS OF YOUR LIFE, AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF $$$ IF YOU ARE MOVING ACROSS STATES WITH ALLIED.

    I hire Allied to move me from NC to NY. I had never used a moving company before and I figured that a large company would be reputable and care about their reputation. A broker came to my home to give me an estimate. She encouraged me to leave my belongings in my furniture drawers and cabinets, assuring me that all furniture would be wrapped and kept safe. I foolishly packed my valuables believing that they would not be touched. Other people have since told me that other moving companies photograph and record valuables. I packed everything very carefully. The NC crew seemed like they were doing a good job. They brought a small van, since my street was too small for the large truck. I believe my things were transported 2 more times until it was packed onto the large moving truck.

    A few pieces of upholstered furniture were wrapped, but most items were crammed together in the most careless ways. It is clear that every drawer and every box had been gone through. Things are missing from every box and drawer. I foolishly packed 4 generations of family jewelry, and it is all gone. I knew exactly where I packed them but I still made myself crazy rummaging through everything dozens of times before admitting that all of my family heirlooms are gone. Photos and art work are missing. I found pieces of broken glass and small shards of wood that fell into boxes from the missing art work. My things were treated so badly and I believe if something was damaged enough, it was thrown away.

    Again, I was told to keep things in drawers for transport. My desk drawers were full and had many family photos, tax documents and other important items. The desk was loaded on its side and much fell out. I imagine these things were just thrown out. I packed all of my items very carefully in plastic bubble wrap or paper. Every plastic tub was crushed and many contents, broken. Many cardboard boxes were crushed and punctured. I wrapped art work in bubble wrap but many of these were delivered with wrap torn and pushed aside and art work damaged. The 2 things that I asked the movers to pack were a very precious antique lampshade and my sewing machine. The lampshade is gone except for a small torn piece that I found in a box and the machine was not wrapped and was delivered damaged.

    Some other things that made working with the mover difficult: The mover, Sly did not communicate. I thought he was coming Saturday, May 1, and he came Sunday May 2. When Sly arrived, I was outside waiting to flag him over. He passed me and didn't know how to to back up. He did not come close to my house, even though there was more than ample room. He stayed on the main road of the community where I live and everyone had to drive on the grass to pass. It was an all day affair. The truck was quite a distance from my home so I never saw the truck which now I suspect had many broken things in it.

    The furniture was the very last thing they brought in. They brought in one box at a time and each time I had to direct where they go. I showed them where the furniture was going to go but they ignored me and piled boxes where the furniture needed to go. When the boxes needed to be moved to make way for the furniture, they acted very put out and I ended up moving all of the boxes myself. I was told that the movers would put back together everything that they took apart. Sly tried to put my bed back together and was not able to. The other 2 movers took over and, and instead of putting it together, just tossed my mattress on top and left it. That night, when I went to lay down, the entire bed fell apart and I fell to the floor. I had to sleep on the floor for several days before a 3rd party came and put it together properly.

    The fold out sofa was left with the rope still wrapped around it and the legs not put back on. Everything else they took apart was left, often with parts missing. They tossed my electric weed wacker and other tools into the tall grass of a neighbor's yard. I only discovered them after several days of rain. I can go on and on about what is missing and what is damaged. Later I learned that Sly told Tracie, the boss, that he had done a walk through with me and that I said all looked good. That was a lie. I have been distraught over the loss, unable to sleep and unable to work at full capacity.

    The most disturbing thing is that I reported all of this. I took photos of the damage and compiled a very long list of what is missing and Allied has not so much as mentioned responded. After a month, they did send someone to look at the damaged furniture, but made no mention of what is missing. I have not heard if they are going to fix anything or not. When I called about the bed, I was treated so very rudely, like I had done something wrong. I am in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and I have a lawyer I'm working with to try to get some compensation. Do yourself a favor, do NOT use Allied!!

    I’m moving with a relocation company who uses Berger Allied. My total load was underestimated. It was supposed to take two days to pack and load but it took 3. The packers/movers were understaffed everyday and ran out of packaging materials, and had to rush and barely took breaks.. This led to them missing things and breaking things just in the packing phase. I have no confidence that all of my breakables won’t arrive in pieces.. There were also multiple mix ups on what was to go into storage and to a temporary location. I did not get everything that was supposed to come to the temporary location.

    Most of this seems to stem from the virtual surveys that lead to significant underestimations of load amount, how to staff and how to estimate timeline. It is not fair to the workers who show up to the job and definitely not to the customers. I have moved myself several times and it has been much less stressful than this and nothing was broken! With this company I have already seen my items broker before they left my old house.

    So, in my experience so far, the company did not get my items packed appropriately and timely, didn’t get everything moved to where it needed to be moved to.. which seems to be the reason their main business objective and the service they sell.. however, in my case, none of that was successful. I’m am dreading seeing the state my furniture and items are in once delivered and unpacked in a few months. The packers/movers were very friendly but had to rush to meet timelines which compromised the quality of the packing..

    I recently moved a 3/2 home from FL to IL on June 3, 2021. Allied provided me with the best quote and reassurance of a smooth move. That was the furthest from what my actual experience was. Not only did their dispatcher, Bill from their Ft. Lauderdale, FL office, hit me with the "Balloon Affect" as he called it by charging me an extra $3,000 at the last minute because I had approximately 200 S.F. of items to add. He then proceeded to yell at me about not reading my contract when I questioned it. Not having a choice but to pay it upfront before the truck would come, the truck (A broker carrier called IMovers) sent a truck that was too small to take all of my items. They were never informed by Allied of the additional items, so my extra items was put to the curb. Then, although I was told I could pick my delivery date and could expect it to take up to 3 weeks from that date, the carrier later tried to charge me another $800 because I couldn't take it when they wanted me to.

    Not only did I get way overcharged for a horrible service, several of my items were broken and some items forgotten on the truck, no one is responding to me about the missing items from IMovers. My warning to all, DO NOT USE ALLIED VAN LINES if you want your personal belongings moved reasonably and without damage. Also make sure you get a copy of your contract and print it to have in hand while dealing with carrier onsite. For some reason, I was unable to do that with my contract, they would only send it to me via a link that continued to error out and no one would send it to me, I finally got a copy from IMovers. As someone who has spent almost 30 years in the transportation industry and worked with thousands of carriers, Allied Van Lines does not operate with integrity.

It was the worst move experience we have ever had (multiple international and US moves). After paying the requested amount to re-load their truck from their storage in Sterling, VA, they then requested additional money to deliver our goods or they wouldn't deliver (actual quote from their President). Their apparent mistake on calculating the weight 15 months later and then extorted additional money.     I spent hours researching the best moving companies online, by phone, and with in-person visits and with virtual walk through appointments. I decided to pay the premium for a “reputable” firm like Allied. Unfortunately they sold me a bill of goods. The service was terrible and they could care less about my belongings. I was promised to meet my driver - never happened. I was promised that our belongings would be loaded on to the truck that would transport them to our final destination - instead 5 shuttle trucks were loaded. The shipment was 4 days late. I had another driver lined up to get out shipment delivered on time, and they didn’t care and refused to release the shipment. They never returned my calls. Just terrible service all around. Don’t be fooled; “Mees Moving and Storage” is an Allied franchisee that is managed by liars and con men. Do not do business with them.

    Kurt ** is an excellent salesperson. He captured our business with his professionalism and knowledge of the process as well answering our question directly and without hedging every answer. The move started off a little disconcerting when Sal who was supposed to crate our glass items showed up two days early. No real problem though as he just didn't have the dates we changed a few weeks back.

    The packing crew lead by David was very good. What was scheduled to take two days took only one, and a short one at that. David was also very knowledgeable and professional. So we had a day to rest so to speak. The young man that Diane assigned to do the crating of the 13 glass items did a great job. He was all business and very efficient but friendly too. And best of all, nothing arrived chipped or broken.

    That same morning the driver, Greg, and loading crew pulled into our street and by around 3:30 pm they were completely loaded and ready to go. out of about 120 boxes and all the furniture, only three items were damaged and they weren't worth talking about. Greg did a great job at arriving at our new home 2000 miles away on time.

    The spoiler to the whole process was the last group we dealt with on the move. The local "white glove" unpackers did a great job in helping us unpack and put away for 7.5 hours with only a 15 minute lunch break. Great job ladies! When I placed the order for this service, I made sure to confirm that all the boxes and packing material would be taken away by the crew and included in the hourly rate for two workers. It's logical and normal to do this but I confirmed this on the phone when I places the order.

    This confirmation was clearly made. But we were told at the end of a long day that we would be charged $150.00+/- for hauling away the boxes and packing paper. I spent $18,000.00 + and the local Allied entity, Best Moving, pulls this cheapo stunt. I know and several workers told me that Allied routinely reuses these materials whenever they can. That makes sense, what doesn't make sense is to have the entire really good experience spoiled by petty cheapness.

    So instead of recommending Allied, I'll tell all my friends to watch out for Best Movers and make sure that the Allied people give everything to you in writing, even for the smallest component of the expenses. What could have been exceptional, was ruined for a $150 bucks. Perfect example of stepping over dollars for a few pennies.

    I had a total price guarantee/binding agreement that was not honored when I requested delivery (early) from storage. I was told transportation costs had increased and it was now several thousand more dollars for my delivery.     Packing crew was slow and had no regard for our personal property or some of our high value items. The packing crew was busy yakking with each other or on the phone while packing. They were polite, but not paying attention. Three guitars were put into a wardrobe box without being padded. A Hammer Dulcimer (in its case) just got a number slapped onto the case and was not padded. All of my original artwork wasn’t even wrapped and thrown into boxes with the paintings laid all on top of each other. Things were broken and damaged. Light bulbs were wrapped in paper and packed. Candles were also packed. Fine bone china dishes belonging to my deceased mother were wrapped in a single sheet (4 dishes together) and one was chipped. Another expensive crystal bowl was chipped. If I hadn’t checked our credenza, it would have been padded with all the expensive china and glassware in it.

    When I was told the kitchen was done, there were still five drawers and a cabinet that hadn’t been packed and it was supposed to be “done.” It’s a good thing I went around checking because this crew clearly wasn’t paying attention or keeping track. Things were thrown into boxes with no organization whatsoever and numerous boxes were labeled as “miscellaneous.” Numerous dish packs were used for items that were not dishes or glassware. Those are the most expensive boxes and they were used without regard for cost. A riding saddle was put on top of a $7K bike. My husband instructed the crew to remove the saddle from the box because the bike could get damaged. They took it out in front of my husband and after he went back inside they put it back. The crew forgot about loading the items in the attic and it was already after 9 pm. None of those items had even been inventoried and by the time they finished it was after midnight.

    The inventory stickers didn’t match the packing list. We are still missing numerous boxes and haven’t located them yet. This list can go on and on, but I think you get the gist of how our move went. Awful! Awful! Awful! We treated the packers and loaders very well with food and drink and they disrespected us by doing such a poor job! I haven’t been through all the boxes yet, but I’m keeping a running list of everything I’m finding and I’m just giving you all the highlights. After paying nearly $20,000 for our move and being so dissatisfied, I expect you to reimburse us some because the job was not done as it was supposed to be. We also expect you to reimburse us for the excess of expensive boxes like dish packs and wardrobe boxes used for items other than they were supposed to be.

    The loaders were very good and exceedingly polite and attentive. I felt bad for them when the packers didn’t inventory the attic and they all had to work until midnight. My husband and I are beside ourselves for having hired Allied Coleman. It’s unfortunate that I have so much more bad to say than anything good and I absolutely will NOT recommend your company to any of my friends or family in Bluffton, SC. I will still have more to say as I continue discovering what’s in the boxes and it will take a good amount of time. This whole process has been time consuming and exasperating. I should hope somebody contacts us to let us know how all this will be remedied. I expect this company to do “the right thing” in this situation!

    We moved from Kansas to Massachusetts. Everything started fine, we worked with a really friendly rep who did our estimate and we accepted. The movers come to get our stuff. One of them is an anti-masker and we weren't about to ask for another person to come out because we needed to be out of the house that day. They did pack up our things carefully and load them into their truck very carefully.

    Our estimated delivery was 3/2 - 3/10. We didn't get them till 3/14. On 3/14 we wait and wait and wait. I get a call from the mover saying he needs me to drive him to a Uhaul to get a truck because he can't drive his semi through town. I drive over to meet him and wait and wait and wait because he'd already left with someone else to get a truck. So that's a few hours of my life gone.

    He shows up with the Uhaul. They need me there to separate the things going to storage and the things going to our apartment. So I help them out with that. I can see our things, all of our boxes were smashed, our dryer must have had something dropped on it because it was completely crushed from the top. It's already getting dark out. We finally make it to the apartment with our things. There are three movers and one of them can't go up and down the stairs. So I help them out and move just as many things as they do because I didn't want them moving our stuff all night.

    Usually you hire movers because you don't want to move the stuff yourself but that wasn't the case here. I paid them so I could help them carry my stuff up. We finish unloading the truck and they leave but I have to meet them the next morning to take our stuff to storage. I meet them the next morning and help them unload the Uhaul. Then I have to drive them to the Uhaul to drop off the truck and drive them back to their semi.

    We already know a bunch of stuff was damaged. We had a coffee table with holes in it, a mattress with holes in it, shoe racks that were completely demolished, a bookcase that had fallen apart, the dryer smashed up, water damage to our dining room table (we know the water came from the moving truck because our boxes were wet too), rust on my weights from the water, and parts of the treadmill broken. We take pictures of all these things and file the claims.

    We filed the claims two days after the move along with the photos that they request. The broken shoe racks and bookcases were in a pile in our apartment and our kid kept getting into the garbage. We had junk guys coming so we decided to have them throw out the things that are completely broken. After waiting 6 weeks the claims adjuster finally sends out a guy to take photos for us. We already sent photos but apparently they don't trust our photos. He takes the photos of the busted dryer and treadmill in the storage unit too.

    They don't cover anything we threw away. Apparently we need to keep a pile of garbage in our small apartment until they deign to take photos of them themselves. They did not cover the dryer or the treadmill because it went to storage and we needed to have the mover mark it as damaged on the report. We didn't know that so now we lost a dryer.

    They did not cover the water damage on the table. Again, the mover needs to mark it as damaged. We didn't even see the water damage until the next morning! And in the chaos of a move are we really expected to see everything that's broken? They say we have 9 months to file claims, apparently everything needs to be spotted the day of the move. The move was a nightmare that lasted two days. It absolutely sucked seeing all of our boxes in the condition they were in. We could contest the claim with arbitration but that costs $300 just to start it. I will never be using Allied again and I'll be sure to let everyone I know not to use Allied.

    Let’s start with packing. They were is a hurry as they did not have enough help. Normally they wrap the dressers and leave the contents inside, instead they utilized my underwear, socks and blue jeans as packing material. I had to go through 6 different boxes to find them. When furniture arrived the driver did not know where the parts were to put all the furniture together, so I had to do that myself after he left. The man who gave me the estimate said it will be a full truck load. When the driver showed up he already had a partial load and knew it wouldn’t fit. The second truck showed up for the balance and complained The whole time. He stated that some of the scrap items should be thrown away to which I said no. He ask me to give him a 5 star rate online which I did. After he left I found some of the scrap items in my trash can that I need in Oregon.

    It’s been 2 weeks and I still don’t know when I receive the balance. I left a important message to the salesman and call 2 more times and he never called back, Allied was the highest bid in moving and therefore I thought was the best. I will let everyone know how horrible this move was. The office thinks this is no big deal. At 66 years old it is difficult to put a heavy dining room table together and lift it up by yourself. Allied thinks this is no big deal so be it. I give them an F and will let everyone know this.

    I was present at my home in GA when everything was packed on the truck. Everything went great. Then without my knowledge my belongings were taken off that truck and put on another truck then delivered to SC. Something in every room was damaged or missing.     DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This move was a complete disaster. In November 2020, Allied Van Lines packed, shipped, and delivered all of our possessions, furniture, and several valuable pictures. I insured the shipment for $30,000. Upon delivery, virtually all of these items were severely damaged, some irreparably. As of today’s date, five months since the delivery, the furniture and photographs are still in the possession of art and furniture restoration specialists. As days pass, we discover additional damage. Literally, our most valuable items, either monetarily, personal value, or both, have been damaged, some irreparably.     If you have a smaller move (one that won't fill a truck), I would recommend you look for a different company to handle your move. Based on my experience, they aren't careful enough with people's items when things are co-mingled between households. On the day they delivered my items, they handed me a checklist and told me to check off item numbers as they placed them in the house. This meant I was essentially rooted in place, unable to really see what they were up to for much of the offloading process.

    What was immediately clear was that they were bringing items into my home that weren't mine, and I'd have to tell them to take them back to the truck. What was not immediately clear was that they'd done the same careless job with my stuff at one point, as the center support for my bed was not installed- or present. Without that center support, a few of the wood slats cracked.

    No big deal, I thought, since I had insurance. Their claims process is slow- way too slow to find anything that's lost. And, the value was less than my deductible. So, I'm left to find a new way for my bed to support my mattress. They're probably fine if you have enough to fill a truck, and you confirm that your stuff will stay on the same truck for the whole process. Otherwise, I would skip them.

    We hired Allied Van Lines to move our beloved belongings to our new home out of state. The sales woman made us feel reassured that our belongings would be handled with care. I was concerned and asked that all of our belongings could be loaded and moved on one truck (we had enough to load a truck) and was told yes. When the truck arrived to load, they had already loaded another partial home and did not have enough room on the truck for ALL of our belongings. I was extremely hesitant about this for fear things would get lost, but was reassured that each item would be inventoried upon departure and checked off as the items were delivered.

    Upon delivery of the first load, the driver and workers were careful with our belongings, but did not mark off the items that were coming off of the truck. The inventory copy that we were given and asked to sign was illegible, but they put the paper in your face and ask you to sign it so they could get paid. We were very grateful to have the first load, so we signed the copy. When the second load came, over two weeks later, they were much less careful, dropped a movie projector screen without apologies, ignored my request when I asked where the other two parts of our family Christmas tree was and hurried unpacking into our storage facility. We had to repack ALL of the contents properly, and found several things bashed in and fallen over because of poor packing.

    After we actually moved into our new home and had the opportunity to take inventory of our belongings, we realized many MANY MANY MANY things were lost. I filed a claim and carefully attached receipts and dates of purchase, etc... We were denied any compensation because we signed the stupid paper that we couldn't read and were told only said they delivered the truckload. I would NEVER recommend this company. I called and tried to speak with several people, wrote letters and have been ignored. They sent us the cost of the broken movie screen and didn't care that they lost our memories. I am still finding items that they have lost and am sickened everyday that we were bamboozled. I want everyone to know not to believe these folks and MAKE SURE YOU CHECK EVERY SINGLE ITEM AND SIGN NOTHING!!!! I hope this helps save someone else from headache.

    The setup process was fairly smooth. The estimator in Santa Rosa called promptly and used FaceTime to view my home contents and come up with an estimate of somewhat over $12k for the move to WA state. Moveout occurred on schedule and seemed efficient. Several moving employees were packing and carrying simultaneously and it was impossible to keep track of everything that was going on. I was somewhat surprised when I was billed well over half the estimate for the local moveout into storage, but then I didn't know exactly what all the different labor and transport rates were.

    Difficulties became apparent later on. I had been advised by the local company, Santa Rosa Moving and Storage, that keeping the move in the winter months was advantageous for rates and for scheduling -- less chance of delay -- and that I should request delivery three weeks before the desired delivery date, Feb 1. I did manage to keep the long distance move in the winter, and called four weeks before the desired delivery date and was told someone would get back to me with schedule confirmation and paperwork. When I didn't hear anything for a week, I contacted them again. They said the move was set up for a delivery in the window Feb 1 to 4 and that I’d be given the final bill upon loading in Santa Rosa. I then made a lot of plans based on this time window. I also sent them information about the approach to the house in WA including an overhead from Google Earth so they would not be surprised by local conditions.

    I was a little nervous about receiving a final bill after loading because of how messy it would be at that point if there were strange excess charges, so I asked for a final bill earlier and they complied. When I arranged to pay it, I first asked for a reassurance that delivery included reassembly of any disassembled items. I was assured that it did.

    When I hadn’t heard anything by Feb 1, I called again and was told that “Oh, there’s going to be a delay. Our driver canceled. Now it’s sometime around the 10th.” The unexpected delay was a major inconvenience; however, the failure to even call me when they knew of the delay is unacceptable. I was able to extend my stay at a BnB a few days and decided to sleep in the empty house thereafter. This required buying a sleeping bag and a few household items, but I figured I’d probably use them later.

    Eventually I received a phone call from a new driver who gave me a new delivery date of Feb 9 and to expect confirmation the afternoon of Feb 8. When I had not heard anything by the evening of the 8th, I called the driver’s number and he did confirm for the next morning. That morning a pair of guys showed up announcing themselves as the advance team. I mentioned to them that I had sent information about the house approach, including load limits of a small bridge and an overhead photo. Had they checked the load limits against the load? No. Would they now do that? They weren’t sure how. I suggested they call the driver, which they did.

    Next the long moving van showed up in my driveway and couldn’t get past a turn in it. “We’ll have to get a smaller truck,” they said. A few hours later, a loaded small truck showed up and drove right across my front lawn then backed up onto it leaving large tire depressions. The unloading went quickly. Again, it was not possible to keep track of every item much less its condition; however, it became apparent quickly that certain disassembled items were not going to be successfully reassembled. By immediately complaining to the Santa Rosa office, I prevailed upon them to at least assemble my bed before they left, but two other items were not reassembled. One turned out to be impossible to reassemble after several attempts by different people; the other was missing hardware and pieces. When I attempted a claim later, I was told to go find replacement parts!

    I discovered packing had been inventive. My carpenter’s level eventually turned up hiding like a golf club in my golf bag. A full salt shaker had been packed upside down at the top of one box, with the expected result. About half the boxes were mislabeled; evidently the packers couldn’t agree on which room was called what and didn’t bother asking me before labeling. Otherwise, packing turned out to have been safe enough.

    When the delivery crew announced they were done, I asked what happened to my sofa and dining table. Huh?? A quick call to Santa Rosa confirmed that they’d been left in California, for reasons unknown. These two items eventually arrived two weeks later, with a moving crew that smashing a sofa leg into a door frame splitting it. Gouges in the dining table were discovered a few days later.

    Currently I am in the middle of a claim adjustment process with Allied. I had decided to scale back my claims in advance to far below actual repair and replacement costs just to make the process more likely to be less aggravating and protracted. However, as of this writing, none of the individual modest claim components has yet been approved. As one example, the adjuster is telling me to go find replacement parts and do it myself, after I explained that I already spent hours trying to reassemble my art easel and shopping for missing parts. This is feeling like insult added to injury.

    Overall, I’d say the long-distance coordination of Allied is lousy. The local move into storage in Santa Rosa was OK, except for the disassembly decisions and a few odd packing practices. Communication was poor – I repeatedly had to follow up and bug them when the time at which I had been led to expect communication passed. And the “advance team” having no clue of the information I had submitted specifically to help them was part of this pattern. The leaving behind of two major furniture items is not something that should happen after a company has almost a century of practice. The total experienced pain was magnified by moving during the pandemic and during winter months, which made my own logistics more critical. Allied is not responsible for these factors. I have tried to take this into account when putting together this objective summary.
