Watch out, they say it’s a five-dollar initial charge for the review, I wasn’t even able to pull my records, and still been getting charged 20 a month for the last 5 months, 100 dollars down the drain. Deceptive at best.

Good service, detailed, but you need to contact their support to close your account or they will keep charging you. There is no direct or easy way to close your account or see that you are being continually charged.

I was able to access my public information super fast, however, I didn’t realize it would charge you separately for the reports and PDF files. (This could be an oversight on my part as I was in a hurry to access my records.) I used the live chat on their site (at 9pm) and had my account closed and an explanation of charges in less than a minute. I’ll definitely use this service if needed in the future. Thank you!

Be careful when purchasing a report. They end up selling you a package but it doesn't look like that when you're first purchasing. Then they start charging you monthly. Other than that everything was ok.

I was looking for a property record and happy to pay just for that, but this turned out to be a subscription and I was charged several times. Customer service was helpful, however, and reimbursed my last payment and canceled the subscription immediately. I do think the site is misleading and should be more clear about what is being purchased and how often.

I was unaware that I would be charged twice on the report package I needed. When I saw the second charge, I was very upset. I contacted customer service, and they helped me right away!!! They made it easy and issued a refund of one of the charges. Great customer service.

I hesitated to select the star rating. I feel like I was ripped off, but they refunded me without any struggle. I chatted with a rep (Russell) and expressed my frustration at having receiving multiple charges that I did not expect nor approve. He explained why I received the charges and immediately refunded my credit card. He was professional and forthcoming, though the expediency tells me this is a common complaint and fix. Watch your statements, buyers!

I was originally trying to just check if I had any public documents out there and was accidentally signed up for monthly subscription. I got on the chat and asked, how can I cancel? And possibly be refunded for this month's fee, and was able to get my subscription canceled and was refunded the monthly fee for this month. It was very easy.

I submitted a public record request for $1, which I received via email. Not only was I charged the $1, but I received a second charge for $20. I contacted support via the link provided in the email and communicated with Gary via chat. He said the $20 charge was for the report package and asked if he should close my account so no further charges would ensue. I told him I was unaware of the $20 report charge and asked for a refund. Within seconds, I received a confirmation email of my refund being processed, and he immediately closed my account. Many thanks! Five stars to Gary!

I asked for a refund and was given it promptly in a professional way. I don't like that PublicRecords.us did not send me an email receipt of my transactions. Had it been, I would have stopped the original payments. It comes across as "sneaky" and that is not good business. I'd ask that this be a process improvement please.

I accidentally signed up for a monthly plan. I was able to cancel the plan and get refunds requested using the chat option which was fast and efficient. They were able to help me in about 15 minutes. Now I just have to wait for the refund which is supposed to come in 3-5 days.

I purchased a PDF vehicle report by VIN. It was all the information I needed and more. Very helpful. However, I authorized an $8 payment. The website confirmed I would be charged $8. I authorized the payment for $8. I was later charged an additional $20 for some package I purchased. No confirmation about that charge. Must have been hidden in the small print somewhere. Customer service was quick to close my account to stop any future payments, no refund was offered or issued.

I paid to get a copy of a marriage certificate date. But then charges kept getting billed to my card! Not only I was charged double the rate, I kept getting charged every month again and again. I believe that is they make money by hoping you don't check your credit card statements. Stay away!

I was trying to determine my property line. This was not resolved by this service. But it did provide some interesting history about my home. I don't know why or how, but I later discovered I was getting charged $40 a month in two separate payments, which I only discovered by looking at my credit card statements. However: the online chat service was terrific! It made it VERY easy to show my statements and get refunded very simply with no fuss. So support service is excellent.

Records were incomplete, I was led here under the premise of having access to a layout of my property's septic system. Very deceptive marketing strategies.

We were looking for my wife's marriage license from her first marriage. The website says that they provide records for $5. Once we were searching there were several steps where we were given the impression that there would be additional charges for taking next steps in our search. These were small charges, but they kept adding up, and we were willing to pay them to get the record we were searching for. Finally, we got a list of a bunch of people who weren't my wife, but had similar names. That was the end.
There was a chat option, so we went on that and were told that a "research specialist" would email us the info in 24 hours. That didn't happen, so I emailed customer support. The next day we got an email from them suggesting we contact our local county clerk for the marriage license. Problem is, her first marriage was in a completely different state and about 40 years ago. I replied this to the email, and haven't heard back since. It feels like a complete scam.

I had an issue with recurring payments I did not sign up for and the problem was solved within 10-15 minutes. My experience with my customer service rep was great. I had no trouble achieving what I set out to do, which was cancel any supposed recurring charges that seemed to be hitting my bank account. When I asked for email confirmation he said no problem, and I did receive that email confirmation. However, I do have an issue with the account management capabilities of the website because there are none. It's all nebulous. I had no idea by ordering my PDF public record that I would be automatically set up for some recurring payment. I'm sure there was a pop-up window with terms and conditions saying as such, but something like that shouldn't be hidden in a length terms and conditions sign-off. It should be painfully obvious that by purchasing I am committing to a subscription of sorts.

The service was great, and I reviewed a public record. I paid for that service, but I somehow also got signed up for a recurring service that I didn't want. I should have checked my credit card records in a more timely matter, but when I found out I had been charged a recurring fee, I thought I was out of luck. But I entered an online chat with Peter, and he canceled the service and refunded all the unintended charges! I was very pleased that I wasn't out that money for a service I only used once.

When I used PublicRecords.us in February for one report I did not see that I was actually subscribing to your service. The report was excellent, but it was a one-time event. The company credit card was billed in February (and was paid) but was again billed ($9.95). The charges are tricky and expensive. Even when you feel like you’ve canceled, you may not have. I contacted the company to get a record mailed to me. Fairly straightforward - I paid the fee - documents arrived in the mail very quickly. Two months afterwards, I started getting charged $20 every 2 weeks. I contacted the company over the email help and the representative Ryan was very helpful. When trying to cancel my account there was no option after logging in, no account settings or anything that all other websites have if you have an account with them. However, once I asked the chatbot to cancel my account and to stop charging me they processed it in seconds and I received an email confirmation so I appreciate that at least.

Dealing with Public Records, it’s easy to access the records and also when requested a refund for an overcharge they were very obliging. Traditionally dealing with computer companies and subscriptions are extremely difficult. Thank you

This website was very easy to maneuver through the system and was able to use the live chat with accuracy and quick responses. I was able to sit in a hospital next to my husband while using the website to help resolve the accident in search of the tag of operator 1

I was very promptly able to chat with a supporter - Raymond. I did not have to wait on hold for longer than one minute and they were able to help me rectify my issues within five minutes. The speed and ease in getting this done deserves a 5 star review.

Had a frustrating experience with the billing. It was very easy to accidentally get enrolled in recurring subscription packages after purchasing a $1.99 report, without fully realizing it. On top of that, I ended up being charged on two different accounts because I purchased two separate $1.99 reports using both my old and new email addresses, and both were automatically placed into ongoing paid plans, and yet I couldn't figure out how to log back in to either account to figure out what was going on. That said, the customer service was excellent. It was honestly one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time, and I really appreciated how helpful and responsive they were. Donna was who I spoke to on live chat.

Great customer service from Charles. Quickly corrected my issue refunding unauthorized transactions and fully closing my account so it can’t happen again. Was being charged for months and didn’t know why. Tried accessing my account and was unable to figure out what was happening or how to correct it. I finally found my way to chat option after another unauthorized charge and quickly had my concerns taken care of.

Fantastic service. Fast to resolve an issue I was having. I had charges that I was unaware of and Ronald helped me extremely fast and got it all resolved for further charges. Great service. I would definitely recommend for further people.

Easy experience with the live chat and was able to quickly cancel service once I no longer needed it. Tim helped immensely with being friendly and ensuring I had everything taken care of. He was on top of getting my account canceled when I asked and didn’t provide any additional questions about continuing my subscription.

Got ahold of the chat person and he was able to close my account for me easy. I knew that I was charging me 9.95 a month but It just wasn't worth it for me. I only needed to look up one thing and then could not figure out how to deactivate my account. But was able to get the help.
