I used Public Records to locate information I needed. It was easy to access info and also easy to cancel when I no longer needed the service. It took only a few minutes to receive assistance through live chat start to finish.

Finding the information I wanted on this website was relatively easy. There was more information than I needed or expected. However, I did not realize that I was signing up for a subscription. Since I didn't need research on any other issue, I cancelled my subscription. Cancelling my account was easy and quick. I appreciated that.

I contacted the company to get a record mailed to me. Fairly straightforward - I paid the fee - documents arrived in the mail very quickly. Two months afterwards, I started getting charged $20 every 2 weeks. I contacted the company over the email help and the representative Ryan was very helpful. He refunded me the $140 and cancelled the subscription very quickly and without difficulty.

The report wasn't as thorough as I wanted, but happily paid the initial fee for it. Thought it was a clearer driving report of every ticket but it isn't. No need for a subscription on it and the employee promptly corrected the assessed monthly fees once I realized it continued billing me. Very painless resolution, much appreciated!

Great service. Fast turnaround on the data sets you are looking for. Detailed reports that stretch waaaay back. Definitely worth the price for the service and output. Inputting data was very easy. The wait time to present that data was minimal. Overall a good experience.

The site provided the info I needed. But it wasn't made clear that the initial fee I paid to obtain the information would trigger an ongoing monthly subscription that I never knowingly authorized. Making it clear to the consumer that you'll begin auto billing on a monthly basis would be helpful and avoid frustration. To cancel, I used your online chat, which was fast and straightforward.

Do not use this service. Did a one-time search on a property. They don't tell you it is a subscription. Looked at my credit card statement and they had been charging me for several months. No place to cancel on their site. Had to call the number listed on my credit card statement. They scammed me out of 3 months of payments.

While looking over bank account, I found two $20 charges twice a month for Publirecords.us. I used the live chat and Amy and Charles refunded everything very quickly. The service was dubious that one time I used it in Oct 2025. Didn’t use it again. I was surprised how predatory and deceptive this was. I was very happy to have it quickly resolved.

They got me with recurring payments. I thought it was a one-time thing, apparently so did everyone else. I will say this, they canceled my account and supposedly gave me a refund. If I get the refund, I'll be happy. We'll see.

I requested a report and was told it would only cost $1. The next day, I noticed my card was charged an additional $10. And then two weeks later, another $10. I’ve only logged onto this account once. What a rip off. I didn’t sign up for a subscription.

The person who helped me was very helpful and cancelled my membership, which I did not want very fast. I am not happy because I didn’t know that I signed up for a membership, nor did I know that I’d be charged almost 20$. I thought it was only 1$.

I needed information for our HELOC. I used this website and was charged what I expected to be charged. Days later I got charged $5, then another $5, then $10. I reached out through customer service and cancelled my account, received confirmation that my account was cancelled and today I’m being charged $20! I reached out to them again, I did the online chat and it tells me my account was cancelled on 03/04/26. So why am I still being billed?

I gave it a 3 out of five because it didn’t give me the extensive search I was looking for but it did offer one search for a $1.00 and I would be getting a monthly subscription for $9.95 which gave me more searches but offered to be able to not have the subscription if I cancelled. And because it wasn’t the kind of search I needed I was able to cancel. But was still charged the $9.95. But when I went to chat and explained it the rep was super nice and refunded the $9.95 back. Great customer service. They respond to chat immediately which is awesome. If they offer the kind of search you are looking for then this is the perfect site for you.

When trying to cancel my account there was no option after logging in, no account settings or anything that all other websites have if you have an account with them. Had a frustrating experience with the billing. It was very easy to accidentally get enrolled in recurring subscription packages after purchasing a $1.99 report, without fully realizing it. On top of that, I ended up being charged on two different accounts because I purchased two separate $1.99 reports using both my old and new email addresses, and both were automatically placed into ongoing paid plans, and yet I couldn't figure out how to log back in to either account to figure out what was going on. That said, the customer service was excellent. It was honestly one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time, and I really appreciated how helpful and responsive they were. Great customer service from Charles. Quickly corrected my issue refunding unauthorized transactions and fully closing my account so it can’t happen again. Was being charged for months and didn’t know why. Tried accessing my account and was unable to figure out what was happening or how to correct it. I finally found my way to chat option after another unauthorized charge and quickly had my concerns taken care of.

Service today was excellent. Keeping the notification that a refund is being processed; however, the website is misleading does not clearly explain the subscription service. Seems to offer a single report for $1.00, but every step after has a charge. Should clearly outline and require approval for the monthly subscription.

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Thomas. He was very helpful and resolved my issue immediately. I looked up my record and was under the impression I was to be charged only $1. I received an alert stating I was charged $20. I called and asked for a refund of the $20 and to close my account as I wasn't aware of the report package. Thomas assisted me and I am very satisfied with my experience. I would suggest you make it more clear that you are signing up for a report package on the website because it is very confusing.

I only requested a one time public record and paid at the time but I have been seeing recurring deduction of $20 for 4 months. She helped close my account and I am waiting for the refund of $80

I didn't realize what I was signing up for, and for that I blame both myself and the site, I don't feel it was very transparent, I thought I was buying an individual report. I was charged a couple of times and while I thought I have to look into this I never did. Life just too hectic, anyway, today I got notified of another charge and finally looked into it. I used the chat feature and Timothy helped me immediately, he cancelled the inadvertent subscription and refunded the latest charge. I am extremely happy I finally reached out! Timothy was wonderful.

This was supposed to be a 1 time charge to access a record, little was I aware this company would repeatedly charge my credit card! The lady who assisted me in closing the account did so swiftly, thankfully, before I had another charge. Google even highlights your company as promoting a recurring subscription charge without the user knowing, extremely shady business practice!

I was fine paying $1.00 for the service but then charged $9.95 for a package charge I never saw or agreed to. If I missed it, my bad, but unhappy to be charged this fee. It was never clear of this additional charge. Getting it removed through the chat option was easy and simple.

Got our review, then we didn't notice for a few months that we're paying recurring charges of $20 each month. No notice was given to us that this was going to happen. We want everyone to beware this tactic used by online companies.

When using this program I was unaware of the package I was opted into. I either accidentally clicked something because to my knowledge I never agreed to pay a subscription of $9.95. When I got an agent on live chat and expressed this concern, the agent immediately supported all my issues. I got my account cancelled and refunded without the usual hesitation or combative response. This was a smooth resolution and I am extremely happy with the service I received. Thank you for all your help and support.

The "package" option is a bit confusing and my live chat first agent Scott was not helpful, his answers to my questions provided very little clarity and he told me incorrectly that I could cancel before I would be charged the $20 monthly fee. Luckily when I realized I had been charged I chatted again and my second agent Mary processed a refund without me having to jump through hoops. She provided much better customer service made reverse my opinion that that this website is a scam. It may not be for me, but at least the employee understood someone had given me incorrect information and took actions to correct it immediately. In summary, if you only need a copy of your own taxes, just call your local county's treasure office.

Buyer beware. What looks like a simple $1 charge quickly turns into something much more expensive. After signing up, I discovered they had actually charged me $7 for a PDF report and then added a $9.95 subscription fee on top of that—without making it clear upfront. The worst part? Everything they provide can be easily found for free on your local government website. There’s absolutely no need to pay for this information. Save your money and skip the frustration. Stay away.

Updated on 04/07/2026: I would like to update that my husband reached out to their customer service and they did close the account however they were extremely evasive and talked to him like a child stating do you remember when you looked up that one thing in Oct. They failed to mention what the bank confirmed.. They have been taking money out every month to a sum of near 200 dollars. I hope this review helps to warn other seniors of the deceptive and misleading practices.
Original Review: Husband used the website in October 2025. Then randomly in april 2026 was charged 20 dollars. When calling to find out what the charge was for he was informed he used the site once last October and that's why he was charged and would need to have an account canceled out. Something is seriously wrong with this.

Upon signing up, I did not see any pricing for $9.95 (one-time or recurring) stated on any pages including checkout and was only shown the price of $1 access fee and an additional $7 fee (if choosing to download a PDF version of the report). I understand that businesses have to charge for services. All I would like to say is the pricing needs to be more transparent and clear if it’s a different pricing or a recurring charge. However, customer services was very excellent, quick, informative, and helped me resolve my issue promptly. I chose to close my account mainly because I didn’t really need the service and didn’t find what I needed to find.

I found the person I was looking for and the report included general information that was helpful. I was looking for marriage entries but did not find any, which is likely a function of the person not having been married when I thought. I did get three separate charges on my account, which wasn't what I was expecting. I remember thinking $7 was reasonable for a single search but was later debited $9.99 and then $1.00 (still not sure what for) but I did receive a polite letter in the mail that indicated that I had an "account in good standing" so I contacted customer support to make sure I hadn't inadvertently signed up for another expensive renewal I wasn't aware of. I'm sure the information was on the website but likely somewhere in the small print I didn't read. Customer support cancelled me right away and most companies never mention you are on the hook for recurring charges until you see the debit in your account so I have to give them credit for reaching out with an actual letter.

I was charged more than once. I thought I was only getting charged $1 but I got charged three times. $1 and then $9.85 twice but Maria from customer service helped me right away! My issue was fixed and I am grateful.

Really easy to work and cancel, but it would probably be easier if you could just cancel a subscription without having to talk to someone. Or be able to cancel on the phone, and maybe make it clearer that it is a subscription, and you will get a fee if you don't look out.
