I had bought a Medical Alert for my son in Alabama. And when he died, I took it with me because I live alone and if I fall down, I don’t have the strength to get up. Medical Alert had talked me in to having it outside the house, but it was so sensitive that they came and I didn’t touch it. So I don’t like that. I've used it though and it has been very helpful and very nice. So far, everything is satisfactory.

I started sleeping with the Medical Alert band around my wrist because I had surgery on my neck. Then I got the door key on the doorknob in case I may fall on the floor or I can't get out of bed, and they can't get in and help me. The only difficulty I have is this thing won't go off if I fall down and I will have to press the button. Otherwise, I feel satisfied with Medical Alert. I got the device which any time when I go outside, I can talk to someone if I got a problem.

I live alone and the doctors told me that I couldn’t live alone. Due to my living arrangement, they would not release me to go to my home and Medical Alert was the best thing I could do at the moment so I got one. One time, I’ve accidentally touched the device and it went off, but it was okay. Their customer service team treats me very well whenever I call. The only problem is the financial arrangement wherein I’ve been on the financial set-up plan. I don’t remember telling Medical Alert to do that so I’m gonna discuss it with the children and see what we’re gonna do to go from there. But so far, the system works well. Medical Alert is good to have for a person who lives alone. It’s good to know that you have something to rely on in case an emergency does happen.

Rupert was beginning to fall. I went to town and paid some bills, but when I came back, he was on the floor and couldn't get help. I saw Medical Alert advertised on TV and I took it. However, when we first got it, I was kinda disappointed in a way. They told me how much it was gonna be but then after a few months, I went ahead to put the insurance on it and it went up on me $15 more. I should have been told that beforehand. But as far as everything going and working, it's doing okay.

I try to test the button at least once a month or a little later just recording on what we're doing. Then by accident, I hit it twice and their response was quick. I've got that little box sitting in my kitchen, and I was in the living room when I was getting Rupert dressed and hit it. Then, I heard them and I talked to them. They asked me if I needed help and I told them that I hit it by accident and I'm sorry. They said, "It's quite all right," then asked if everything was okay. I appreciate them coming at me so fast every time. With the Medical Alert device, Rupert and I feel more confident about his safety. I would recommend them.

With my age and my living situation it's a comfort to have Medical Alert. A friend of mine had gotten this particular one and it was recommended to her by a friend of hers whose daughter was a physician, who had researched it carefully. Everybody I talked to at Medical Alert has been very nice. The device, however, is ugly. They expect women to wear it around their neck and I don’t do that. If they had a more attractive one for women, it would be nice.

I use the wrist thing really designed mainly for men. The one that they most recently sent is better looking to a degree but the strap is one of those things where you push a little thing through a hole to make it fasten. I usually wear it on my left wrist and it’s sort of hard because I am right-handed plus I have carpal tunnel syndrome. Also the device only works within 40 feet. I can’t even go farther than the elevator. I live in an apartment building where there are a lot of people around. If I’ve collapsed, then someone would eventually find me but still the range is not terribly far.

I used my device once when I’ve fallen in the bathroom and was not able to get up. They were here within a very short time. So, I didn’t have to lay very long before they got here. However, at this time, I’m not getting any service. I’ve moved into an apartment and we’ve had some problems because AT&T is not in this area, and it’s not carrying it through. I got a better deal with Medical Alert than the other companies, and I've been very pleased with them. I have a fall detection pendant that they help me with when I have to test it, and I also have the little box that I take with me. I don't always wear my pendant when I'm out, so I always make sure I have the little box. That's security in case something happens that I need something. But I wear the pendant during the day when I'm not in bed, and I even wear it in the shower since it's waterproof. If I accidentally set it off, which I have done number of times, they call me right back.

I had a bad fall and my kids insisted I get a medical alert device. When I was bringing in a potted plant the other day, I had it up against me and it set the Medical Alert device off. It gets in the way like that. If you press something against it, it gets set off. It started then and I had to set that plant down. They respond in a minute but they can't hear me if I’m not right in the room with the speaker thing and that's not good. I don’t like that because with most of the other devices, you can use the device anywhere. But this one is just good around the house and in the yard. You can't even use it in the bathroom. One time, I was saying that it was okay and that I had pressed the button by accident but they kept talking. So I had to go in the room with the speaker thing before I got it to shut up. I was not even that far. The device costs a lot and it doesn’t reach very far.

    Hi Gertrude,

Medical Alert offers several different device options. It sounds like you would prefer the GPS version called Mobile Elite over the at-home system.

I will have someone reach out to you to discuss options.

As for the way the device is worn, we offer a wrist device in addition to the pendant because different people prefer to wear the device in a way that makes sense for their life. Perhaps you would prefer that one so it won't get caught up when you're carrying things?

My children felt I should have something in case I’m by myself when I fall down. I’m very weak. I wanted a medical alert device to have some assistance of some kind. I wear the Medical Alert necklace and it’s not really light, but it’s not really heavy. The only thing is every so often, they call and they’re up on my premium for something new that I don’t know anything about. I’m on a very limited income and I had another $5 added to my bill, but the main thing is in case something happened, I can get somebody to come here. Medical Alert has been fine as far as the service is concerned and they explained things to me.

There was one time when I couldn’t get the trunk lid on my car. I didn’t want to open and so I pulled on it and it flew up and knocked me over about 8 feet back behind my car in the garage. My cellphone was in my purse over on the other side of the car but I have metal hips and I couldn’t get myself up. So I scooted across the floor over to get my phone and it scared me enough to think what could happen next. I then got the Medical Alert device and it's okay except for the lanyard. I wear it in the shower then it’s hanging up half of the day to dry so I’m not wearing it. Then, if I want to wear a necklace when I dress up a little bit fancier, I have to take the device off because it’s blinking away underneath my top. While it's a klutzy-looking thing, it’s a safety thing. I also know several of my friends have gotten them.

My mother lives alone and diabetic. She has a walker but sometimes she falls so we thought she needed Medical Alert. It has come in handy at least five times. She fell before and another time, when she had shortness of breath, she just pushed it on her own. Medical Alert notified me first and that gave her security knowing that I could come first alone or the ambulance, or both. At that time, I told them to let the ambulance come and they beat me here. The day before, she said she didn't feel like eating and was kinda tired and then, my husband said that it might be her heart. So, when they called the next morning at 8:00, that was what it was. It was great that they notified me. I come almost every day to check on her but there were a couple of days in a row that I didn’t. So I don’t know what would have happened if she hadn’t had it because we wouldn’t have known.

A couple of times, it was a mishap because she accidentally rolled on it or stepped on it one time but it has been really good to have. She received another pendant but we haven't activated it because we heard that they were very sensitive and it alerts you even without pushing the button. Sometimes they go off even when you don't need anything. Other than that, we've been very pleased and without it, my mother would be lost. I am staying here even though we might not need it as much but you never know. It helped our life immensely and I would recommend it to anybody.

I've hit the bracelet a couple of times because it was kinda built up a little bad, and they've been right on the ball. Before I've gotten through to explain to them what had happened, they've gotten the machine running. Then, I jumped right on as quick as I could and told them I'm sorry that I hit it. I've had the bracelet for so long now and I leave it right in my right hand all the time. It's old and it keeps coming undone on me sometimes, but it's okay to wear.

So my son got me a Medical Alert device even though I told him I didn't need it. I wear it under my bra yet it still feels like something is showing. I’ve been on medical alert service for years because I had brain surgery and I have brain trauma, and I’m a breast cancer survivor. My driver's license wasn't taken away from me, but I wasn’t sure if I could handle driving and I walk around a lot, so I got Medical Alert's travel service. I love my traveler device and I've felt safe with the wrist band and the battery. The representatives were nice but they didn’t give me any feedback. Also, I didn’t like the fact that they convinced me to get the box which I didn’t really need because I walk with the bag and the battery. So, I returned the box to them through FedEx and I gave them the tracking number for that.

I made arrangements for them to take my payments out of my account. The monthly fee for the service started out at $39 and now it’s $43, and I’m willing to pay that. But I wasn't willing to pay the $22 for the box because I was unaware that my account would be charged for that. But they took the $22 out of my account and they didn’t reimburse me when I returned it, even though they have records that they have received the item back and they have the FedEx tracking number, so I’m upset about that.

I've been waiting for the refund from them for over 30 days. I needed to speak to somebody there, but they have kept ignoring me and nobody called me. There’s also US mail and they could have sent me a letter to tell me why they weren’t reimbursing me but they didn’t. I’ve called them several times about the matter. Sometimes they didn’t return my call and when they did, they only said they were putting me through to Accounting and they put me on hold. Then when I had been on hold for some time, I got disconnected.

When I first got my Medical Alert device, it was the first time that it came out and it was a new adventure for me, but now I’m not happy with it. They have treated me unfairly and I feel a little weary about this issue. They’re dealing with people that are sick, but they were not a hundred percent my protection as I had thought they would be, and I’m not that crazy about their service right now. I’m disappointed, annoyed and unsatisfied with them now, and I’m not gonna recommend them to anybody if they don't treat me right. I was trying to get my sister to get their alert device too, but after that incident she’s now saying that she doesn’t want it.

My daughter lives 100 miles away and I live alone with the dog. She got me a Medical Alert and pays for it. She usually calls in and checks on it too. The black necklace thing is a tell tail sign that I’ve got one on, but I’m 85 and I still have a little vanity so I'd rather have it in a gold chain or something else. I’m not as faithful of wearing it than I should be, but it’s my own way. In January, I fell and broke my wrist but I managed to get through it without using the device. Then I walked the dog for 30 minutes this morning and my condition was not up to Smith, so I should’ve had the device on. Nonetheless, I’m a Red Cross volunteer so I’m always at the hospital and I have put the Medical Alert out and mentioned about it.

I used it one time for an emergency. I hit the button and they called right away and got a hold of one of my kids. They’ve been real good to me. One time my cat stepped on the button and their response was right on. Their rep was very professional and very courteous. I appreciated quickness.

After I got the device it’s such a comfort to know I have that access if I need it. I have neighbors but some aren’t real close so it’s perfect. I live too far out to get the one that would service me all the time because we don’t get cell activity out here. But other than that, it’s great. I would recommend it to anybody. And the ambulance is only two blocks from my house, so it’s very quick that they got here. I wear my device on my neck. I got this machine almost five years ago and it’s really helped me out. I accidentally pushed the button a few times and the Madison Township squad has been really nice to us. I was down in my neighbor’s once and I had that necklace around my neck. I guess I pushed it because when I went downstairs with all my friends, the manager and squad people came. They were asking for me and I asked what they were here for. They asked me if I pushed the button and I said I didn't know. They called my friend and got him up here. I was told to go back inside so I did. He asked if I was okay and I said yes. He asked if I fell and I said no. It scared him and me.

I don’t wear the device much inside my own apartment ‘cause I’m afraid I might push it and then they would call or get the squad here again. Everybody asks why I have to keep checking on that machine. But the machine said to test it monthly. That’s all I’ve been doing and I've never had trouble with that machine. The people at Medical Alert have been doing good.

My experience with Medical Alert has been okay. I decided to get the device because I live alone and I have a bunch of stairs to go up and down. I was afraid that I might fall some time going up and down the stairs and no one would know. I wear the device on my wrist and I don’t like it. I also don’t want to wear it around my neck as it's uncomfortable. Furthermore, I am not satisfied with the medical alert system and I can get a cheaper one than what I have now. I am on a fixed income, so I’m thinking about changing.

We’re getting up in age and our kids thought that we needed to have a Medical Alert in case something happened because they don’t live nearby. Everybody is happy that we have it. We just don’t think about it because it’s there. The only complaint I have is that I got my bank statement and there was $60 that was charged from Medical Alert. After I saw that on the bank statement, I got a notice from Medical Alert saying, “Thank you for choosing the insurance on the equipment.” We weren’t informed that they were gonna be adding insurance on it. Nonetheless, we’re doing fine. They respond very quickly whenever we test it.

    Original Review: June 27, 2018

I have been trying to get a refund from Medical Alert for almost 6 weeks for a system that would not work. On May 9th I contacted the Medical Alert company by telephone to ask about their Medical Alert Systems for my mother-in-law. On that date I visited with a salesperson about the various systems and charges and advised them at that time that my mother-in-law did not have a landline or a smartphone, but she did have a cell phone and that she lived in a remote rural area so I was concerned about having good service. After giving the salesperson her address I was advised that yes they had service in that area. So I ordered the Mobile Elite System AND PAID $204.00 UP FRONT FOR 6 MONTHS SERVICE for this system.

The device was delivered on or about May 15th. We tried all evening to get the system to stay connected with no avail. On May 16th my mother-in-law called the company and they also tried to get the system to work and stay connected and again failed. They told her they would send out a box to return the system to the company and give us a refund. On or about May 18th my mother-in-law returned the device to the company. On JUNE 12th, I called customer service for this company to check on the status of my refund. I was told the system was received back on May 29th and it would take up to 3 weeks for the refund to be processed.

On JUNE 20th, 3 weeks from May 29th, I called again to check on the status of my refund and was told that the refund was processed JUNE 12 and would take up to 3 weeks to process. So, what happened from May 29 to June 12??? As of this date I have not yet received a refund. I did try to call again today but was immediately put on hold. So please be aware of this company and their misrepresentation... about 1) service for a remote area, 2) charging immediately without confirming the mechanism works and 3) giving the runaround on refunding after receipt of the returned item. BE CAREFUL with this company.

    Hi Sherri,

We processed this refund and canceled the account. We gave a refund of $209.70. Barb from our escalation team left you a message to call her back just so she could explain some things to you and assure you we are not in the business of giving anyone the runaround.

To address your complaints, it's worth noting that our coverage comes from the AT&T coverage map. Also, the charge was done at the time of the sale as we charge prior to shipment -- in keeping with the way all products from any supplier are charged when the item is shipped. The equipment is tested prior to shipping, so we know it works when we ship it. The only variable is the AT&T Coverage Map, which we have no control over. I am very sorry the AT&T coverage was poor in your Mom's rural area and wish we could do something about that.

Thank you for reaching out to us and thanks for giving Medical Alert a try! Please don't hesitate to call Barb back if there's anything else you need.

This is a great idea to have a fall button. The one problem is that when it is worn and a person sits down into an easy chair it is so sensitive that it rings back to the company. This has happened twice here. Once the Medics showed and it really wasn't that of an emergency it was that the button off while party. Was in the easy chair not an actual fall. Otherwise very good system all around.

Returned a fall alert button 10/28/2017 following Medical Alert's instructions on how to do so. I was billed 12/18/2017 for the fall alert button. I have called numerous times, initiated a investigation with the United States Postal Service who verified delivery, requested a supervisor twice to no avail and continue to get a run around.

Recent bill was sent with charges unchanged and additional charges and a late fee. We have had no problems with Medical Alert until this fall alert button. I have tried to resolve without cancelling my account but they don't seem interested in helping. Further I have no problem paying the regular charges for the regular button but they still haven't adjusted the bill crediting my account for the charges for the fall alert button since December 2017 that I no longer have. I have even written a letter with the documentation from the United States Postal Service and received no response. In this documentation the United States Postal Service states they contacted Medical Alert and were told it would be taken care of.

I had fallen a couple times and there was nobody here for help. Because of that, I decided I needed something in case that happened again. Then I got a Medical Alert and with it, at least I know now that if I need help, all I got to do is push the button, which has happened since, and they responded in five minutes. I thought it might have been sooner.

I got the device on my neck all the time. It’s okay, but now they had sent me the other one that I’m gonna have to pay more for it, so I should send it back because they said I can’t sleep on that one. It’s supposed to be something to do for heart attacks and strokes. But it’s something that’s kinda hard for me to remember to take off during at night because I was used to wearing my other one all the time. With this one they sent, you need it just when you needed it most. When I needed it one time, I couldn’t have it on because I fell in the bathroom. So, it doesn’t make sense to me about taking that off. I don’t see whether that could help me much more. I would have recommended Medical Alert before they sent me this other one.

I'm living by myself and I have fallen twice already. I used my Medical Alert one time and I was very pleased with the local fire department. Their response time has been wonderful. As a matter of fact, they got here just about as fast as my neighbor from across the street did. I live in a small little town, and I’m not but about four blocks from the fire station. I fell outside coming out of my garage and I was face down on the ground and they came. Two got on my feet and two guys at my shoulders. And I told them that was the first out of body experience I’ve ever had when they picked me up. I’m a happy camper. I’m happy with everything about mine.

I wear mine all the time. Except since I rolled over on it in bed and it went off, and my neighbor came over and woke me up, I decided the best place for it is on my nightstand. And then if I have to get up during the night, I always put it around my neck. I don't take any chances with falling or stumbling. I’m religious with wearing mine. I wear it as though it’s a piece of nice jewelry. I took off my previous device at night when I go to bed, but when I get up out of the bed, I put it back on. When I dropped it, it went off. And that was very comforting because it was supposed to go off when I fall. Medical Alert says, “Test it every month”, but I haven’t tested it. I just have faith and confidence it is going to work, and I’m happy with it.

The device has given me a little more confidence to do things that I might be a little bit reluctant to do. I am in the process of recovering from a stroke and I’m on the walker. So far, I’m not out and around by myself very much. But the only part that I’m really nervous and apprehensive about is, I have four steps coming into my front door. And I’m okay coming up, but I’m very cautious going down. Medical Alert is a partner and it is here with me if I need anybody. My mother also had one when she lived here.

I'm gonna be 90 while my wife is going to be 94 and I take care of her now. I got the Medical Alert device about six months ago and I've been very satisfied with it. It worked well. I’ve used it one time, then a lot of times when I hit the button accidentally, they came on and asked if everything was all right. Their reps have been really nice too.

But when my wife would get out of the 400-foot range, she couldn't use her necklace with the fall thing on it and I thought that she could use that in any place. So, when she'd go to the store with my brother-in-law or I'd take the dog for a walk in the morning and she'd fall, I have no way of knowing. I also thought she could ring a bell and get her own call, but there’s no mic or hearing device on it. My wife was also afraid to wear it to bed because she might choke. We're on a fixed income, too, and that’s $10 more a month. I talked to the lady and said I wanted to return it. She was really nice and the service was very good. She said to send it in and I got it all ready to mail in then I’m gonna send in a check for $15 for that insurance that I have. Still, I'd recommend Medical Alert.

I'm 71 years old, I live alone and I live in a strange neighborhood. Sometimes I'm in area or I'm at a point where I need help in case I do need help. I've used Medical Alert one time on my friend who has fell down and they had to call an ambulance. He didn't have his phone, and I didn't have my phone. But I keep it 'cause I do school walk, if I was walking there. And I go to different places and at least I wanna have something there. I like the service. I just hope I don't have to use it. I check my service every month and the response time has been 5-10 minutes, depending on where the ambulances were located.

However, when my contract expired last March, I ended up having to pay $7700 for my damn teeth out of my pocket 'cause I didn't have dental insurance. They told me that I needed to pay the money upfront. I called them and explained to them, I will pay them $50 a month until I get it down where I could pay it all off. And the rep hung up on me! I tried calling back but they wouldn't answer the phone. They just pushed more buttons because if I'm paying for a service, I expect to be treated with some intelligence.

Then I got sent all over the place trying to get it squared away. "Oh, well, it could be they hadn't gotten it yet." "Well, send me the billing." "Well, we can't get the billing 'cause nobody's there." I was about ready to take all of it. I said, "Who do I send all your equipment back to? 'Cause I don't want to deal with you no more." They just irritated the crap out of me. That lady that I talked to, she ain't got no business being on the phone. She doesn't know anything about public relations. I tried to explain to them, put me on the monthly payment plan. "Well, we haven't gotten it done." Every time I call up I say, "Have you gotten...?" "No, it hasn't been figured out yet." "You might get notices." "You owe this. You owe that." I get phone calls and I'd hang up on them! Nobody could answer my questions. Everybody gave me the runaround.

I talked to the lady that answers the phone on the bill and she calmed me down. She listened to what I said and she took care of business. And so, I said, "Okay. I'll continue." I didn't pay them the $50 every month. And then, when it gets down to a balance I can handle, I will pay it all off and I'd be good for the year. That's all I wanted to do. But trying to get all that stuff done was like pulling teeth out of a tiger.

I'll continue to be a customer, but if I got a problem, I'm sure that I ain't gonna call them up because nobody knows what the hell they're doing. The right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. That was a complete mess in there. Nobody knew what the heck was going on. It's like they're ignorant. And if they don't know how to treat customers, sure, they get some irate customers, but they ought to be able to take it. Sure, the customers cuss at them, but then just let them get it out and then they can talk to them. Other than that, I'm happy with the service. Everything's now going good and I'm happy. I get my bills and I pay them.

When we tried to cancel the service that my mom had. It was a nightmare. Good luck ever getting someone on the phone, they almost never answer. After we sent the equipment back they still charged her for the following month. After multiple phone calls and the occasional live person to speak with, it took almost 3 months to get a refund and then they only refunded her for one month of service. Previously they called her and sold her a lock box for an additional monthly fee of $20, she had no idea what she was agreeing to and the name on the contract is my sister's, not her's. They had no business calling her and trying to sell her any additional services. That's elder abuse. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I got a medical alert service because of my health, I had been in a coma, being at home by myself and just for emergencies. You never know. I usually keep it on my wrist. Medical Alert calls and asks me if I have been testing my system and I tell them I’m gonna do it. It makes me feel better. At least I know I can push the button if I have to.

I'm seriously considering dropping my Medical Alert. I don't use it and I can call 911 myself. I thought that Medical Alert or the other companies have their own team of ambulances. Instead, using the device has become a hassle. I pressed the button and their team called 911. Thereafter, 911 billed Medical Alert who then billed me. I have insurance for ambulance service, so then I have to fill out papers. Still, it will be much simpler for 911 to bill Blue Cross. Furthermore, I had instances of being scared while using the device. All of a sudden, the voice box talks and I think "who the hell is in the house?" Also, some of their people are not all that sure of their job. Nevertheless, they are nice people.

I lost my thing around my neck from Medical Alert. I've asked them to send me another one. However, that was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't received anything. Having the medical alert device makes it easier for me to get a hold of someone. I would just press the emergency number. I used to wear it all the time, even when I take a bath or shower.

However, I had trouble since I wanted them to take payments out of my paycheck every month. I wanted it out of my bank because I always have money in it. It saves me the trouble of having to go through Visa. There I have to take a cab to pay for it. The trouble was they were taking payments out of the other account and I didn't know about it. They didn't let me know and when I got the bill, I had to pay interest of $400. I'm very upset about that because that was a lot of money for interest. I spent almost all day today on the phone to get somebody to get it fixed. The first time, they didn't listen to what I said and their rep just hung up. So, I called back and I said "“What kind of people have you got working for you?”

I didn’t like going through all that. I wasn’t happy with it. I was happy before and I had no problems with them. They were always good there and everything. But, this was a bad experience to go through. Still, I recommend Medical Alert. I have a couple of friends that are who are interested in it because I've told them about it.

I am sure that most people pass away or the families are busy with a host of other medical issues when the units are returned & don't pursue refunds. I imagine they keep millions of dollars by these practices. It should be criminal!!!

    Hi Susan,

I am glad to know that Susan from our escalation team talked to you last week to clarify that when someone calls and request a refund after a product is returned, it escalates the refund. It doesn't mean the customer is not getting a refund if they don't call. Refunds are processed in the order the product is returned.

I am pleased to know Susan also processed the refund for an extra month of each item because your Mother had to wait so long.

The light on the base of my Medical Alert kept coming on all the time. I wore it around my neck and I wore the button next to my body. I called and their rep sent me another one. But this one is really sensitive. It is supposed to be worn on the outside and it is forever coming on, so I'm just afraid to wear it. I liked that when I went to church with the other one I could just stick it in my bra. But this one, I would be scared to death to do that because it would just cut loose.

They sent the second one and I mailed my old one back. She told me as long as it was in the house, it would keep beeping on the base thing. The day before yesterday, I got out of the bathtub. I laid the beeper, my housecoat and my phone on the floor and in a few minutes, I was getting dressed and I kept getting calls. And it's way off, so I don't answer. I'm afraid of them. You don't know who they will be. In a minute, my daughter called, and she said, "Momma, are you all right?" I said, "Yeah. I just got out of the bathtub." She said, "Well, the rep said your thing went off and she said they're on their way out to your house." The ambulance did come and I told them what was happening. I had both of them in my hand, I just jumped up and got the housecoat on and got out there and waited for them on the porch. I know it works but it's really embarrassing for it to do that.

And, it has done that two different times since I've had this new device. The rep said that one of those device would cost $100 and she said I needed to get insurance on it. But I didn't understand that. I thought that was what we pay monthly and that took care of the bills. I was supposed to call about the other device and one girl called. I was telling her about the problem with the old one wherein the light kept coming on, but I didn't get calls on it. I said, "It's hard to pay all this money for one." And she told me that she was gonna let me have it for half-price starting that month. When they took it out, I assume they took out the full price. I pay six months at a time plus $60 for six months.

It's with a necklace. The other one I put on the first thing in the morning and I took off the last time at night. I just wish that there was a better system like my old one. This one, they say I'm supposed to wear it with the push button on the outside. The other one, I was supposed to wear it on the inside of my clothes. So, when I go to the mailbox, I put it on. If I'm sitting here working in the kitchen at the table doing my jewelry and stuff, I keep it on the table, so I can see it. If I'm in the living room in the afternoon working on my quilts right there, I keep it on the coffee table right next to me instead of on.

My husband had died and he had a medical alert device which wasn't updated. He had the machine and it wasn't anything that he could ever use. Fortunately, he did have an aide who would take him out. But a few times, he didn't make it into the house. He had a walker in the house too and then he just fell a few times. So, we didn't think that machine worked very well. When he passed away, I thought about getting a medical alert device as I wasn't getting younger.

Having my device makes me feel more secure. I usually wear it around my neck or around my wrist. If I'm putting it around my wrist, it's hard so I have an aide who helps me with that and she gets it on before we leave the house. One time, before I got an updated Medical Alert, somebody must've thought that something was pushed. My son came home because he was called. At that time, I was sitting on the couch and nothing had been pushed. I was sitting with my alert button on me and I didn't hear it ring. Still, I now have a device that's a later model which I paid $100 for when my six months were up and it seems to be fine. Overall, I'm satisfied with Medical Alert but I can't really recommend it because not all my friends can afford it.

Their network leaves me in life risk, I just had 3 mini strokes in the last week. I fall a lot and my daughter thought it would be a very good idea to get a Medical Alert device. I’ve been very happy with them until they brought out this fall button for if you fall, it automatically gives an alert thing. I called them. I think they need to work it out a little better before they put it on market. The girl that talked to me into getting it didn’t give me instructions well or how. They said we have to wait a minute for it to take effect. I fell hard and it did not go off. This morning, I just barely test it on my phone and it went off. I don’t know how many times I had false calls because it’s very sensitive. So I’m not really happy with that.

But they gave me a free six months to try and work it out to see if I could get used to it. Also the Medical Alert team that answers the call are just fine. They answer right away and ask if they could help me and just reassure that I don’t need help. They’re very good on that. Having the device is a comfort to a degree. The basic alert system is fabulous. I’m very really satisfied with them except for this new device. Maybe I just have to get used to it. With the old button, you have to press for help. With the new button supposedly, it will handle itself and it does it very well when I don’t need them. I hate them to go through the whole system though.

I live alone, have had a stroke and only have a leg and an arm, and I fall down a lot once in a while. And having Medical Alert makes me feel a little bit safer. I had used the push button once a month and it worked. But one of the parts fell out and I talked to a guy from Medical Alert and he sent me a whole new button that I could wear around the neck and it was automatic. But I couldn't hook it up myself and it didn't work. Also, I got a friend on Medical Alert and their rep said I was gonna get a check, but I never got it. Other than that, Medical Alert is a winner.

I did some research on the internet and the price of Medical Alert was very reasonable. Plus, I like the interaction that I had with their team right from the beginning. It was very easy to e-mail them and get good quality information without having to spend a lot of time on the phone. The Medical Alert was mostly for my mother's husband broke his hip in December of 2016 and we purchased it in anticipation of him coming home. But, unfortunately, that didn’t work out. And now, although my mother is still independent and doing very well, she is here alone so we’re glad to have it. I live right next door to her but I go to work and she is home alone most evenings and nights. So, it’s a comfort to know that she has it and I feel better when I go to work.

She wears the alert button around her neck right under her blouse. There were a couple of times that her little Yorkshire Terrier tripped it a couple of times by pushing the button on her when she picks him up. But the staff have been really wonderful and she tells them what’s going on when they call and everything has been fine. Three months ago, the notification device has been improved so that it actually notices falls. The team has been fabulous whoever we talk to. Medical Alert is very easy to use and anyone could learn how to use it. The monthly test goes very smoothly and the speaker works very well from most portions of the house. If you talk really loud when they’re asking and for the most part, it suits her needs very well. Overall, it has been a very positive experience and we would recommend Medical Alert to anyone who needs this type of assistance, particularly for people how are living alone.

I pushed the button to test it and it said to call them if the test failed. When I tried to do that, it got the paramedics out here by mistake and I was embarrassed. Medical Alert's reps were nice though and I don't have any complaints. They said they were gonna send me a new button and right now, I'm waiting for it to come.

With my age mainly and if I fall, I need something for help, so I have a Medical Alert device. It’s a bracelet, not a necklace. I like it and I don’t like something flapping around my neck. I keep it on my wrist day and night, and I hardly remember that it’s there. I’m supposed to have it checked every month and I had the reps call once to check it. As far as I know, it’s working fine.

People keep warning older people on being careful about falling and I don’t wanna break a hip. Before I got my alert device with the help button, I was washing the lower window on the storm door one day and I fell back. I didn’t fall far, but I've had both knees replaced and I couldn’t get up. What a time I had until somebody came and it took two people to get me up. I’m not fat, but I'm clumsy. Since I've gotten my alert device, I've had a feeling of security. I know that if I need help, all I have to do is push that help button. I would tell a friend that having Medical Alert is the thing to do.

I live alone, and I garden a lot. I've got a hillside and I don’t wanna be up there on the hillside, and fall and break my leg. I then got a Medical Alert device. My kids are pretty close to me, and they come every day or every other day, but I could still be lying up there for 40 hours. I take the device off when I go somewhere 'cause I don’t want the string hanging around my neck. I've had also pressed the device accidentally when I was gardening, but that was the only time.

Then I had a yellow alarm, so I called Medical Alert, and the woman I talked to had me test one of the two necklaces that I have. She said one of them has a low battery, so she sent one out. She said when I get it, I should call her, but I've been so busy. And I've mixed up the two things, so I don’t know which one has the low battery. But that woman was very nice and helpful.

The string is long and I had to try to tie it in a knot, but it’s all right. I recommended Medical Alert to one of my friends and so, she got one and she started wearing it, but she’d take it off when she takes a shower. And I said, “Oh. Please, Mabel. However, I have a lot of issues with the new one. It's made out of Velcro and it sticks, it's not good. The other ones, I wear it around my wrist because I'm allergic to the one around my neck. And this Velcro keeps tearing apart and it's not half as good as the imitation leather was. Other than that, everything is fine.

I'm 82 years old and I have trouble with my legs and I could fall very easily so I got a MedicAlert. But I have a Medical Alert now which is $84.50 a month and it's much more expensive because the other one was $170 for six months. But Medical Alert is better because I have a fall system on this one. It has a pendant that has a fall sensor and a GPS. So, if I'm wearing it and I fall somewhere outside, somebody will come get me. I wore the bracelet all the time in the house because I'm by myself most of the time. In fact, I catch myself leaving the house with it still on my wrist and going places and it's not gonna work on that far distance but it's like wearing a wristwatch. You don't realize it's even there. What bothers me the worst is when I go take a shower in my old-fashioned tub, I feel insecure. But with this on my wrist, I feel much better.

Fortunately, I haven't had to use my Medical Alert and I hope I never have to. But a couple of times when it went off accidentally, they responded very speedily and they were very courteous. I had a gentleman and I assured him that I had done it accidentally. So, it was no problem. I tried to call them today because I was gonna question my account and my call wouldn't go through. It would ring and then it would ring like a busy signal, so I'm not sure if their phone's not working right or what.

My Medical Alert has worked very good for me. I have used it twice already since getting it last October. I got a walker given to me by the veterans and it has four wheels and brakes on the rear wheels and it folds up and I can sit down on it. If I turn around, stop it, I can sit down a little on its armrest. It is made from Carbon, so it's not even metal. I can get a hold of both sides and pick the thing straight up in the air. That's how wide it is.

I sleep on the couch every night, and the phone rang and it was about seven feet away. The cord won't reach any further. So, when I got in the walker, it left me. I stood up and I didn't have it locked in the wheels and I gradually went down to the floor. I tried to get up and get the chair. But I absolutely could not get in my wheelchair. I took a cushion out and tried to crawl up the lowest part and I could not lift my body. I laid there and then I called my friends but they didn't answer. So then I called on the Medical Alert and the paramedics came and they were outside my door and the door was locked. They asked me if I was all right, and I yelled that I was okay, but I just couldn't get up and I was on the floor and couldn't unlock the door. So I told them combination for the padlock on the porch and they opened the door and got my key and came in and they stayed about half hour to make sure I was okay.

And then another time, I fell and I called the paramedics and the door was unlocked and they got me up and they always stayed a while to be sure that I was all right. I'm an old man and having the med alert around my neck no matter where I go here in this house gives me a peace of mind that you can't buy. There's nothing that makes me feel more comfortable than this med alert.

It is important especially for older people to have the Medical Alert device available to them. I was 88 years old when I got mine. I had both of my knees replaced at the same time, and my son-in-law and daughter insisted I have one. They set it up 10 years ago and for a long time, it had worked fine. I checked in periodically like the Medical Alert team had suggested that I do. But in the last six months, it seemed that there were more problems.

At first, the device just plain went bad and they replaced it. I got a new one two months ago and the lady from Medical Alert said I should check in like I used to do. But the very first time I checked in, instead of them coming on and asking if I was all right, all of a sudden I had all this commotion out in front of my house. The fire department was out there. I was disgusted and embarrassed. It's very disturbing when you are just checking in like you're supposed to and the fire department shows up. But my son called them about the problems I was having and I think they've all been taken care of.

Medical Alert is excellent. Betty had about six strokes and that was why we got the button. We've had this probably in the ‘90s. She is also handicapped and her age was a factor as well. She usually wears the button around her neck. Last time they sent a button and they warned us to not have her wear it around her neck so low that it would swing. They told her to wear it inside her clothes instead. They also didn’t want her to wear it in bed because it would be tangled up. Other than that, Betty has fallen a few times and the team has been doing their job. They are polite and nice too.

I had a bigger alert device before and I had it for five years. I have this smaller one now and I got it because I was living by myself and I was getting old. I'm 93.

I wear it when I shower in the morning, and then I hang it up somewhere because the string gets wet. I also usually have it around on the coffee table or somewhere like that where I can get to it. And then, at night I don’t wear it around my neck but I hang it right by my bed. I haven't had to use it myself but Medical Alert calls right away as soon as they get a signal. I got one for my daughter and it has been useful for her. I was gonna wait for her birthday, but I decided to give it to her right away. She fell one day, she had the thing around her neck and she pushed the button, then the paramedics came. Then she fell again the next day.

However, when I'm wearing the necklace one I don't push the button but it goes off. Maybe because I moved a certain way. And so, when they call on the little machine, they ask me if I'm okay and I can't get to the phone soon enough to tell them yes. And before I know it, they're saying that they're having paramedics come. And one day, the paramedics did come and I didn't even know why. I don't know if something's wrong with the medallion thing or not. But I'm glad I have it and if you're old and liable to fall down or something, it would be good. I have it so that I can use it wherever I am.

I live by myself and I've not had to use my device very much, but it's really good. I have the fall one too that if I fall or bump it really hard, it calls them. One time, I slid off a stool in the kitchen. I couldn’t get up and I just pushed it, and they came out and got me. I have something I can use if I need it and it's great.

I had a head surgery and my lungs filled with fluid. They sent me home and I passed out one day. I live alone and my son had Medical Alert installed in my house. He said he wanted me to use it if I don't feel good because he was concerned. He has passed away but I felt that I might as well keep it. I continued with it and I've used it several times accidentally. Most of the time that it happened, I didn't realize that I had pushed it. But the response time was fine and they were very good. It feels very secure that I have it. I know that if I were to need it, they would respond quickly and I'm sure that would be of a great help. As soon as you don't answer that, they send everybody out. I've had police and paramedics.

I stopped wearing it around my neck because I wear out a heart with my husband's and my son's picture. And it seemed to interfere with that. So, I went to the wrist version of it and it's not fashionable but it does the trick. Sometimes, I just have a laugh about it because when other people are wearing jewelry, I can pull my sleeve up and say, "You want to see my bracelet?" They could do a bit with the appearance of the bracelet but I would recommend Medical Alert because it has been reliable and the service has been fine.

I still automatically leave it on, day and night, and I haven't had a problem with it. I can understand why there is a possibility of choking, but I'm not really in a position to where I'm totally flat since I've been sleeping on a recliner for several years now.

I’m 87 year old and I’m home most of the time by myself but my son comes everyday and my sister lives close so I don't worry about not having somebody come in. If I go out with my sisters, I don't wear one but I never go out alone without one. I feel safer with it.

The devices are fine but when one goes around my neck, it's really touchy and goes off easily. Sometimes, I don’t even know how I do it. I dropped it one time and I could understand that but I was in the kitchen one day and I kept hearing this thing going off. My box is back in my bedroom so I went in and pushed the clear button but then they came on and I talked to them and said it was just an accident. Then, there was also a time when I hung it on the little knob on my dresser drawers while I was changing my clothes and when I picked it out and turned it around, it went off. And that was just the friction in the air. Now, I wear my wrist band most of the time and my watch doesn’t do that but they're the same thing. Overall, I'm satisfied with Medical Alert.

I am 86 years old. I’m losing my sight and I don’t hear well. I changed to the latest Medical Alert system and if I fall, it would go off automatically. That is one of the big reasons I got it. The box is in my bedroom and if I’m going down the stairs, I can’t hear it. If I don’t answer, Medical Alert people would come or get a hold of someone on my list.

My son and his wife guide me with my Medical Alert, and my son checks it every so often. I feel aggravated with it though. I got to make sure I got a turtleneck collar or collar of some type so the chain is underneath it. Then when I’m in the shower, it’s aggravating so I put it on the ledge where it’s handy. Then I put it back on after I’ve dried up. It's okay because it's a small shower but it is a good place to fall. So is the stairs and I’ve always got my Medical Alert on when going up and down. I got it on a chain around my neck and I wear the Medical Alert all the time. Then I take it off at night and put it beside my pillow.

In December, I had a debit on my credit card for $120 which hit me out of the blue. I didn’t know what it was for and it was quite a shock. But later I found out it was for $10 a month for 2018. Then on January 25th, the normal amount for Medical Alert was also taken out of my account, which was fine because I expected it. I got two duns from Medical Alert but they had already taken the money out. And as far as I am concerned, we are square and I’m paid off for this year. I ignored them and did not pay anything. My daughter-in-law called Medical Alert to tell them about the duns but she never got through to them at all because the line was always busy or she was put on hold and it was during work hours so she gave up. But since then, I have not gotten a dun.

My mom is 91 and she falls. When I go out, I would come right back, and the nurses told me that I had to be able to get away from the house without being so stressed and worried. They said I needed to have a break and that I needed help. And Medical Alert was one of the things that would be able to help me. We’ve had it for a year now and my mom has fallen and fallen but she refuses to use it. I told her that if she pushed that button, I would even hear the alarm and I could come find her. I try to make her wear the Medical Alert no matter what in case something happens.

I’m hoping my mom would use it and I'm giving her the opportunity to do so. One day, I came home and found her on the porch where she had fallen down. I wasn’t gone really long. Something told me to come right back home. I was walking up the driveway and she was on the ground, waiting for me. Still, it helps me to know that the device is there in case I’m gone and she finally realizes she needs to push the button.

My sister has also told me to put the button by my bed and to keep it because if there was a fire or a burglar, I could push that button and get help. The Medical Alert is a great thing except for those people that say they would get us the Medical Alert for free. I call them to see how you can get it free but you would still have to pay the monthly bill. And when they say they would give you $100 if you pay so and so, that still isn’t free. Nonetheless, the Medical Alert team has been really good and I would recommend the company.

Clara has a Medical Alert and she wears the button around her neck. She has an unsteady gait, she's 81 and sometimes by herself. We tested the button and the response of the Medical Alert team is fairly quick. They recently called her and talked to her about the one she can wear on her wrist and she can wear it anywhere, and it's supposed to work for her. They told her it would be $10. What she understood was they could send the device our for $10 and she didn't realize that they were going to be billing her another $10 every month for it. If she had known that, she would not have gotten it. She's not used it at all yet.

Medical Alert is the service that I call when I fall and I wear a little thing around my neck. My experience with them was very good. If I fall, I can't get up. There had been a couple of times when I had broken bones and other times when I just fell and didn't break anything, but I couldn't get up. But if I push the button on my little pendant, then almost immediately, for a small town, I'd get the fire department and the ambulance, and sometimes one of the deputy sheriffs. Their 15-20 minutes response is quite good. I haven't had to use it lately. It's probably been a year and a half since I've used it.

At first, the Medical Alert was more for balance than anything else because of my knee replacements. Both knees have been replaced and that has created more of a balance effort now. I just use a cane now. I don't need the cane as much as I do if go down to the grocery store or something like that because there's always furniture to grab on to. But there are days when I feel more unbalanced than other days and I do use my cane in the house. However, I don't like the new pendant at all because it's like a little box and all I can do is to stick it down in between the two compartments in the bra and then it stays put. It bothers me, but I've gotten used to it.

The pendant I had for years was flat and easy to adjust. It was really nice and it never bothered me. I've asked for it more than once and they told me they'd send me one but what they sent me was a little box. I never got the little pendant, which was nice looking. If it happened to fall out of my blouse, it really looks like a little jewelry pendant, kind of an ivory-looking thing. This box thing I have now is ugly. It's dark grey and it's almost an inch square, and the button that you push is not one side and it's blue. I can't miss it so that's okay and that look doesn't have anything to do with the service.

Somebody got me a Medical Alert device, but I don't wear it. I tried to wear it for a while but I'm not happy with. It's not comfortable. The old one I had was much more comfortable and a little smaller, which I liked. I keep my Medical Alert device by the bed. I can walk a mile and a half every day with my dog. So, it's not something that I feel I need for, and I'd be happy to turn it in. But I'm trying to please my family.

I'm very fortunate that I'm not in bed and I'm up and moving and taking care of my house. And so, I don't love my device and I don't hate it. But, it's just a waste. I'm spending some ridiculous amount for something I never ordered. Still, if I feel that I need it, I'll put it on. It's very sensitive. I'm supposed to bathe with it on but I'd rather take it off. And the first time I started to take a shower and I decided I wanted to take it off, it slipped out of my hand and I had a bunch of people at my front door at 10:30 at night. There were three fire trucks, too, and the people looked at me like they thought I was crazy, and I was. But they were quick and very prompt. The people that were doing the work were good. I'll keep my Medical Alert device.

My son was called but he got in here at the same time as the medical people. This was about 5 o'clock in the morning. They made sure I was okay so I was happy about that. As it is it sends out false need for help and because I am nearly deaf I can't respond on the base because I am not able to understand what is being said, I need the telephone with captioning, which I have on the above number.

I feel a lot safer just knowing that I just have to push the button if I need help. I’m in a seniors’ park and I don’t move too far away from the house. I have knocked it once on the counter in the kitchen and the buzz came on. Somebody in the park here told me to keep it on backwards, which I did, and I’ve never had that problem since. I’d leave it on at night and I have a shower with it on too. I never take it off. So far, I’m fine with it. I’ve never had to use it though. I’m lucky I’ve not fallen in the house or anything.

While I was in bed sitting up and watching TV, I took my Medical Alert necklace off and tossed it next to me. That was enough to get an alert and all of a sudden, I heard some beeping noises. I thought it was my house alarm so I got up and checked that. Then I heard a voice talking and I thought someone was in the house. Then the voice asked if I was all right and I told her I was. I explained to her how I tossed the necklace which must have triggered the device. It was a great experience.

I also have the wristband which I have in my shower and the other necklace which I have hanging on my headboard. So, I have an alert if I'm in my bed, in my shower, and when I'm doing stuff around the house. I'm pretty well covered. The strap for the wrist one needs to be improved because that is already falling apart and I had to staple it together. It's plain white and they couldn't be make it any slimmer or in a better color. But I put it on a silver chain that I have and it looks better. The cord was also very uncomfortable on the first device that I got. Then, the falling down one came later when someone called from Medical Alert's office and wanted to know if I wanted that. I said yes because if you get over 80, you start losing your balance a lot. And if your feet aren't planted perfectly well, your body is going to fall whichever way you've got your feet twisted up which happened to me a couple of times.

I have had some problems with my Medical Alert. Sometimes, I don’t have any trouble at all and other times, I seem to get it out of order. But it usually works. Sometimes, the cat steps on the machine and sets everything up. And I can explain to them that there’s nothing wrong. But if I lay the device that I wear on anything metal, it affects it. And any time I touch something metal, the Medical Alert goes off. I don’t understand why it’s going off when I haven’t fallen. If I wear it, put it on at night and then put it back on next morning, it may go off. The last time I’ve had it, it went off three or four times and I had not fallen at all. I think whatever I laid it down on affected the Medical Alert button. But I’m satisfied in having it and I would tell a friend to wear it if they’re at an age when they are worried about falling.

I had fallen and I live alone. I decided it was a pretty good insurance to have a medical alert device and I've been with Medical Alert for six years now. I’ve been speaking with Kim and everything is good with her and me. I've used the device one time and I was satisfied with their service. Their response time was very good.

I got a new device recently and it was supposed to be an updated thing and better whenever I fell and so on. But I used it incorrectly. When I was leaving the house, I took it off and put it in my purse. It turned out that it was the wrong place to put it because my purse ended on the floor of the car and it set the alarm off. Then I left the house and the poor alert people were trying to get me. They sent some people out and it was a big fiasco here. They searched for me, called my daughter who was in Florida, and they panicked her. As a result, when I came home to find all that had happened, I decided that that was probably too sensitive for me and that I should go back to the old one.

Now Kim got me to wearing the new version of the sensitive one and she said that it’s less sensitive. I've been more careful with it, too. I’m not alerting anybody and I don’t take it off when I go places. I've learned to put it on and leave it on. I've gotten other people to get this also. They’ve inquired if I was happy with it and they have gotten it through me.

Theresa has rheumatoid arthritis pretty bad and she’s an amputee. So she spend most of the time in a wheel chair. She is prone to fall here lately and she’s had a few many strokes. I got a call last night from Medical Alert or somebody there that was offering a system that would work in long range. I ended up ordering the fall button a while back but I was gonna return it. Theresa has to take the one off at night and put the other one on, and she’s not able to do that. So I didn’t think that was going to work out although she did have a fall the other day. But she was able to push the button and get help. The fall button is probably okay. I had it paid for three months in advance. I might activate it and try for a little bit. Since using Medical Alert, I feel a little more at ease when I got to leave the house.

Sometimes, she’ll hit the button accidentally. But if I’m in the house, I can cancel it. When I’ve been around, Medical Alert's response time is okay. But any time you get an emergency, you’d think time goes slower before you get help. But overall, it’s sufficient. Anybody that’s prone to fall or have medical problems, Medical Alert is well worth their money to have that little peace of mind if you’re concerned about it.

I've put on the Medical Alert device for a number of years now. And when they have a new device out, I ordered it. But when it came, I wasn’t impressed. So I phoned them and I told them that I didn’t think the device was like it is when the salesperson was explaining what it did. The rep said that if I fall, I would still be heard. But I couldn’t figure it out. I’m not stupid but I like to know the ins and outs of things. And to this date, I still don’t know how it works. I thought body heat would turn this on. I couldn’t figure out the rep's explanation. The device was large and there's that little button. It would have been worn around my neck and I don’t want that. When you’re bent over, it’s hard enough. I’m very assertive and quick, and I’m almost ready to phone the Better Business Bureau. I told Medical Alert that I didn’t want the device and I wanted to return it. I wanted them to credit my credit card.

That happened last January. I’m more concerned of getting it there than the refund. It wasn’t on my last bill but they might have missed the billing. Medical Alert is a big company and I’m too old for bills. But when you have to order things, you have to use your Visa and I’m not a big Visa bill person. I haven’t had my refund yet so it might be on this bill. But if it isn’t, I’ll be phoning them. I am quick to fire off. But the lady I talked to was so nice. As far as the service, I don’t need it and I’ve never had to call emergency. But I wear my little button on me and I’ve never had an issue. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing the refund. I’d rather spend it than give it away.

On my house alarm system, I have an emergency call and it's a choice of police or ambulance. I took the medical part of it where you can't respond to anybody. It's just you push the button who you wanted to send, emergency rescue or police, and I have that sort of as a backup. It's just comforting to have it and to know it's there. Then, my significant other talked about getting Medical Alert and my children were here and thought it was a good idea. We did and my partner who passed away a year ago would set it off when he sleeps at night. The response was right away and they were all very nice people that answered and ready to help us out.

My device is on a pendant and I wear it under my clothes. I have other buttons and I have this button that I wear all the time. If I fall, I can push it and if I can't, then poor me. I really would like a button that if I push it, there would be some communication because the monitor thing is in the central part of my house and if I'm outside, we can't communicate. But I'm okay. I'm going to be moving and I will call to give my new information and just take everything with me.

But my device is too long and I could not adjust it. It's also difficult to break it open. I returned over the fall button quite some time ago and I was supposed to get a refund by the end of February. When I called to find out where it was, the guy said, “You have to call us to cancel it.” I wrote a letter and explained all of that. Then the lady said it would take a month and then the month went by. I called and whoever I spoke to was very nice and said she would call somewhere to see if she could expedite it and get the credit back to me. I was supposed to get $50 credit with $60 monitoring fee for six months for that particular button. But I was happy with my device and I let people know I wear the button.

I wear the Medical Alert device on my neck and I feel less worried having it. I'm satisfied with it. However, I pushed the button one time and nobody answered, and then the ambulance came. I told them that I didn't call an ambulance. I was just trying it out to see if it was working. Then they left, but the police had already come too. Another time I was at bingo, and I heard the police and an ambulance came to my house. They said that somebody pushed the button while the button was at home. They ordered me a button where all I have to do is talk and people would come out. But I sent it back because I could not adjust the neck piece. But when I sent it back, they had already taken $30 out of my bank account, and they never sent me my money back. I didn't even have it a week.
