I'm 87 years old and living by myself and though I'm in good health, anything could happen. I've had to use GreatCall Splash twice and they were perfect. I didn’t get a necklace the first time when I got mine and have been using a string that got old and was cutting into my neck. So, I called the company two weeks ago and asked the lady if there's any way I could get a necklace for my neck and she sent me one quickly. My conversations with their reps have been swell. I’m very satisfied with the company and the device so far.

I switched to GreatCall because my previous medical alert service didn't have a GPS. I didn't feel as confident with it as I would be with GreatCall. However, the new one from GreatCall is very heavy and cumbersome. I had a special chain made for it because the black one that came with it was ridiculous. It stuck out a large amount of the cord and just wouldn't tuck down under my shirt. The whole situation is cumbersome because of not knowing whether to wear it inside my bra or outside my bra. It's like wearing a cellphone around your neck. But other than that I've done a test of it to make sure it worked and when I called they were fine.

We're very pleased with GreatCall Splash so far. It's worked very well for Paul who's elderly and lives alone. I bought the device for him due to its price and the convenience it brings. After that, we called their team for activation and setup which went well. Now, I'm more confident that if he needs it, he can readily attain it. I have recommended their services to others.

I've had my GreatCall for little over a month and had to use it the other day. They came through with flying colors. He stayed on the line with me, called the ambulance, and talked to me until the emt's got here. I didn't remember his name but I think he did his job very well. It's comforting to know I have someone I can depend on to be there for me. Thanks.

I've had a medical alert device for several years but I got GreatCall about a year and a half ago. At that time I was traveling to Florida every winter and I could carry my GreatCall device anywhere with me unlike the other ones where I had to be within 600 feet from my phone. I haven’t had to use it but I've hit it a couple of times by mistake and they called me right away.

I got GreatCall Splash for my elderly mom, who lives in one state and works in another three days a week, so she needs to have a portable device. All was well, till she lost her device a few weeks ago. I ordered a new one for a hefty $50 plus shipping. The new device needs to be recharged every 13 hours - and it takes three hours to recharge!! That means that if my mom leaves the house at 8 AM to go to the office, she'd better be back by 9 PM - and she needs to leave the device in the charging dock all night so that it is fully charged for the next day, which makes her very nervous. GreatCall says they don't manufacture the old devices, that lasted 2-3 days between charges anymore, so we are looking for a new provider whose devices have longer-lasting batteries.

My mother has GreatCall Splash but she really has not had any use of it since she had a stroke on June 5th and just got home a week ago from a nursing home rehabbing. One thing we aren't pleased with device is the little clip that holds it on her wrist band. My mother has a pacemaker so she cannot wear it around her neck. She's saying that the device is so heavy, it just comes off her wrist. It's not very user-friendly. Since she couldn't get it to stay on her wrist, the device was in the charger in her bedroom and she wasn't able to use it to get assistance when she had the stroke. Furthermore when the little plastic clip thing didn't work right, GreatCall Splash charged us another $10 to be sent another one. We had not gotten it yet though.

My wife has multiple sclerosis and it continued to get worse over time. She falls sometimes and I can't be here every minute so I wanted something that could help her in case she did and I happen to be outside or not real close by. We looked around and GreatCall was saying it would do everything and the price was reasonable too. She keeps it by her bed at night then when she gets up in the morning she puts it on. I know she constantly got it right by her and it's there for her safety. GreatCall makes her, me and the whole family feel a lot better. I can be outside and if anything happens I know she can get to me with it. And if they missed the button they can tie me in with her to the dispatchers. So it gives me some great relief and the confidence that life can go on. It lets me live a little bit better too even as a caregiver.

I wear my GreatCall Splash medical alert device every day and take it off at night. Sometimes I don’t put it on when I'm around the house, but I put it on when we go out to the store, where things could happen. Everything is fine. I’m getting used to it. In fact, I have no difficulties with it at all. One time, I took it off and the cord got tangled near the unit and it touched the button, which caused it to go off. A call came immediately and scared me. I wondered who was calling with that thing, and I tried to answer. A lady called first and I had a hard time understanding her. I hesitated and then a man answered, and he came through with what the situation was and it was very clear in his reply so I told him it was by accident. I told him what happened. I was very happy that the response was adequate. I’m careful of what I do now so I don’t get myself caught up in stuff like that.

I had fallen once, I live alone and I'm 82 so getting GreatCall was a precautionary kind of thing. I used Medical Alert before but I found their equipment faulty. It's not working and I found a lot of trouble using it. On the other hand, the GreatCall device works wonderfully and I never had any trouble with it. I've only called them to check and see if it's working properly. Also, it goes a long time before I have to put it back on the battery charger. However, the first wristband I got kept falling apart within the first couple of weeks that I had it. The little silver part that you attach to put it together with fell off and I couldn't get it fixed so I ordered a new one. This wristband piece of plastic cost $19. How in the world could something that must have cost somebody 50 cents to make them in factory could possibly be $19. But the device itself is so far superior with my experience with Medical Alert that I'm not unhappy that it cost that much to replace.

A lot of my friends said as soon as I became a widow that I need to get the medical alert device, so I took their recommendation and got it. I'm very satisfied with it. I wear it on my waistband and a couple of times I've hit it against the kitchen counter, then it's gone off and they responded very quickly. I just let them know that I was okay. Originally, I was going over to Britain and I know it doesn't work out of the country. But then, I was going on a trip to New York state, although I had to cancel that, but they assured me that it works anywhere in the country. I recommend GreatCall.

When I go on vacation I go by myself a lot and with GreatCall I feel like if I go somewhere and something happens I can just push a button and hopefully they’ll be there to help me. I was taking a trip to Colorado by myself, driving in the mountains and stopping on some dangerous terrain. I am a senior and I felt that if I had the GreatCall medical alert device along, I would be a little more safe. I wanted to try it out there to see if it really works, but I didn’t because I don’t want to abuse my privileges. I used it one time to though to see if it actually works. Their team was very nice and even though I told them it was only a test, they still wanted to know if everything was okay.

Every morning, when I get up and get dressed, I put it in my pocket and keep it with me. I have that little hook on the end of it and I attached that to the edge of my pocket and put it in my pants so that I don’t lose it. I ordered a little case for it to clip on to my belt, because I thought that would be the best way to keep it with me all the time but it’s too bulky, and so I don’t use it that way.

I keep it on most of the time, except in the pool and in the shower. So far, I’m happy to have it. I definitely would recommend GreatCall to a friend. I’ve told people about them and the people that recommended it to me have used it more than I have. They misplaced theirs and couldn’t find it so they called and GreatCall told them where it was.

My husband had another medical alert which I didn’t like because it was only for the house and maybe 50 feet around the house. I told him it’s no good and that if he goes and drives off, takes the dog for a walk or for a ride and something happens, he can’t even call. He says he has his cellphone. I said that he still has to punch in. He had Parkinson’s Disease and passed away in January 2015, so that’s when I made the complete change because I didn't want that. I’m very computer-oriented already, so I said that there has to be something better, something that works like a telephone and GreatCall is exactly that.

The first time I used it, I told them to tell me where I was and the GreatCall team told me exactly up to the street and house number. They did a super job. They’re always there and very courteous. When I'm upset, they are able to calm me down, which helps a lot. I’m 80 years old right now, so in case I have an emergency, I feel I can just push the button and somebody will be there. I take it with me all the time – if I travel, then it’s with me. When I go out and leave the house, it’s in my purse. If I drive further to friends, I take it with me. And if I go to Arizona, it’s with me at all times there too.

My brother is also able to know where I am. I’ve given permission for him to be able to follow me on his computer if he ever needed to. I have had several calls to get a new one, and I say I have my GreatCall and I don’t need another one. They do just the right thing. As long as it keeps using the GPS, that’s the most important part. I like it and I feel more secure having it.

I have seizures so I needed a medical alert device and GreatCall has performed marvelously. It fits my everyday lifestyle perfectly except that some people think it's a camera. I've used it five times and they were very responsive even when I couldn't respond. I have a "please call" list and sometimes they ask to call everybody on it, sometimes they don't. Sometimes I can respond, and sometimes I can’t. I've asked them for the interval between me pushing the button, the phone ringing and me finally responding because that would tell me the time interval between me pushing the button and finally being able to talk. I’ve called twice and was unable to get that time. But when I asked for a replacement lanyard, they mailed me one.

I live alone and I'm going to be 84 in a couple of weeks. I used Life Alert before and it had the phone in the house. But when I was in the bathroom and I tested it, Life Alert took forever to answer the call. When I heard about GreatCall Splash and saw their ad with the AARP, I decided that it's the brand for me. I pushed the button to test it once. Back in January, unfortunately, my sister passed away up in Brooklyn, New York. I live in Florida and I was up there in New York, and my sister lived in an apartment building on the sixth floor in Brooklyn, New York and I pushed that button and they knew exactly where I was.

As a matter of fact, I lost it at one time. I couldn’t find it anywhere. I volunteered at the State Park, I thought it was there. I thought it was in my car. I never could find it. But I called GreatCall and they found it. It happened to have been under my bed. It slipped out of my pocketbook and went underneath the bed. And so I actually upped my monthly payment so that I have if anything happens to it, it can be replaced. I just think it’s the only one to use. I love GreatCall and I've been touting it to all my friends. I told friends of mine who have the machine in the house and then they have to call and the phone rings and all that, I said, “No, no, no. She had stitches in two places on her forehead. We got her a GreatCall Splash device and she has it for over a year. She hasn’t had to really use it yet but everything that we’ve encountered so far has been great. We had no problems with the process of getting it, of her using it and keeping it charged. But once in a while, she'll hit it accidentally.

On my computer, I know where she’s at all the time, even though she doesn’t like to have anybody know where she’s at all the time. She still drives, so that gives me a real good feeling that I know where she’s at. The price is good and everything worked out great. If she needs it, it’s there for her to use. It gives me that peace of mind, knowing that if something happened or she's out somewhere, she can hit that button and get help. It’s the best.

About a year and a half ago, I took my pill, laid back for 30 minutes and when I got up again, I fell and couldn't move. The only way I was able to get to the phone was by scooting a little bit. I had one phone that I could jerk down with a card and it took me a while to get there. I first thought, "How long can I lay here and still live?" I thought I got to do something. Since I had the surgery, I decided I need a medical alert device because I am walking today and I am standing by myself.

With GreatCall Splash, I have the assurance that I can call. At one point, I decided I would try another brand and I liked it because the button was so much smaller and it was attached to where it wouldn't come off. But then I couldn't talk through the system and I had to be at the base or carry my base with me. So, I decided I was going to stay with GreatCall because I like that I can talk into it and it goes everywhere I go. What I don't like about it, though, is the piece that slides in there that has the little hole where I can connect it on my necklace or I can slide the wristband gets to where it stays open and the wristband can slide out after I slide the wristband a number of times. I've woken up in the morning and the backing thing was on my bed.

One time I was taking a shower and it fell off on the floor. I'm hoping GreatCall will come up with a better system where the watchband will stay on with it. GreatCall had sent me a new backing but after a period of time, it's stretched out too and so I'm tying it on with the fish cord and it works great. I have to wear the device around my arm instead of around my neck because I have positional vertigo. With my wristband, I have a little lightweight feeling. I don't feel it's there but know it's there when I need it.

But after about four days, I was like “Where is it?”

I’ve recommended GreatCall to three people. I feel more confident having it. I fall all the time, because I stumble over my feet. If I’m hurt I can certainly push the button. I tested it once with my daughter and she was totally amazed and very impressed at how soon they were there on the line and asked what can they do and what do I need. Then a couple of weeks ago I hit it by accident. I stayed on the line and told them I was sorry and I pushed it by accident. I’m 90 years old and my husband passed away about a year and a half ago and I’m all by myself. I have one neighbor on one side that fell and she laid there for two hours. She’s my age and she broke her arm. And the man behind me was going outside and he fell on his face and broke his nose and his wrist. And so I thought I'd better get an alert device for myself. I fell once in the backyard as I was watering my Plumeria trees. They’re in real big pots and I have a hose in one hand. I was watering and I saw one of the big pots fell over. So I leaned over to pick up the pot and I fell down on my back. I laid there in the sun and I don’t know how long before they came but I was sure glad I had GreatCall medical alert.

Last night, I’ve gotten up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and came back to bed. Usually, I'd sit on the edge and throw my feet over. For some reason, I didn’t sit back far enough and I slid off the bed down to the floor and I was laying on my back. Thank goodness I was close to the stool which I put right by my bed at night. So I scooted over, got a hold of the device and called, and they came and picked me up. I wasn’t hurt but they were supposed to call my son so he could check up on me but they didn’t call this time. I told them about it and they said they’d look into it and call me in 2-4 days.

I had a stroke last March 13th, I live alone in an apartment building and I'm going to be 89 in January. Then I didn't even know I walked across the street to the hairdresser's by my niece's car and forgot that I was with her. So I had my younger friend who is my exec. look up GreatCall and the different things on the Consumer's Report. She printed out something for me and picked another one but I had seen the ads in a lot of papers about GreatCall already. I also saw them in The Parade as well as in AARP and I liked the idea that it was small. I thought that that was the best one and the price was also significant. But it took me a long time to finally go around and get it. I still use the walker in the morning and in the afternoon then in the evening before I go to bed I use that. I love it!

I take it with me when I go on trips. My sister got something else, but it doesn't work outside. She goes to her house in New Jersey and it doesn't work. So I told her about GreatCall and she is going to come so that she can see about it. However, I had written a letter to the company a couple of months ago because I'm going to Europe plus I'm going overseas again and have two or three more trips coming up. I wanted to know if there was a device that I could get over there because I'm pretty sure that this one would not work. But it has never been answered so I am annoyed beyond relief and I will one day get it. I think that they have little to do because I used the address that was on the thing and I'm well identified but it was not answered and that's a very negative thing. I'm going to India this time and I would like to have it.

The first time I've used it, I put in, pushed the button and the lady came right on. I thought it was blinking but she said that's what it's supposed to do. So I haven't had to use it. I also like the size and its gray color because it's functional for me. But the chains bother me a little bit so when I first get up in the morning, I put it in my pocket. I have different ones and I've tried the length that's between my breast and my waist so when I wear loose clothes it doesn't show. But it's on my neck all the waking hours because I don't have pockets usually in my clothes. However, lately I've been putting it around my pocket because I have arthritis in my neck and my head and anything around my neck bothers me. But when I go out, it's with me until I go to bed at night when I have to charge it.

I would never not have it. If I get up during the night, and I do at least twice, I'm thinking somebody's watching when I do so I turn the little light on. Then the first thing I do is reach down and pick up the Splash, put it over my head, get the walker and walk to the bathroom. If I have a robe on, I put it in the pocket. So I take that with me and when I come back, I very simply put it on the thing that makes that little ding-dong then I get back into bed and wake up at either 6:30 or 7. I'm a big advocate of it because I like the literature and it says you need it when you feel funny or think somebody's in your house. Nobody ever thought of that but that's what you have it for. All the others just think it's about falling. So I'm careful but this little baby on my neck gives me that assurance that I feel very comfortable being alone.

I didn't want to call GreatCall Splash, but my neighbor said I needed to. I had one other medical alert service before, but it didn't travel very far. On the other hand, I'm very satisfied with GreatCall. The reps were good. The only thing that wasn't good was that it took a while for the ambulance to come when it's only less than a mile away.

I haven't had to use it yet to call for help. I lost my alert device one time while I was sitting in my recliner. But I knew that it would have to be in the house someplace, so I used my phone and called GreatCall. Some man answered and tried to help me. He had me going out in the yard. I walked over by my fence and he made my alert device ring, but I couldn't hear it there. Then he had me go out on the street in front of my house. Their attempt to find my alert device was not successful. So then, my son came over and called GreatCall, and some woman helped him. He made the alert device ring, and we found out that it was somewhere in the corner where the recliner was. He ended up having to turn the recliner upside down and inside out, but he finally found it.

My family and I count on my GreatCall Splash device quite a bit because I've had open heart surgery nine months ago. I've had it since I got out of the cardiac rehab program last January and I feel safer having it when I'm out doing my evening walk or when I'm very far away from home, especially once I started driving. It just felt better having it with me. However, I'm having trouble with it not staying charged for about a month now. So I called them and the representative told me to just push the button on the side of the device, hold it for a certain number of seconds and then it would start up again. That works for a couple of hours, but it's going out again, so I'll have to call them again.

One time, I accidentally pushed the button and they thought I had an emergency and the gentleman was very kind. I thought it was just as good that it happened because now I know exactly how it works if something did. I found it very easy to use and it would work in any place in the United States which I was most grateful for. I had a family funeral recently out of town and flew, and I felt a whole lot better having it when I travel. I go to a program at Baylor Fitness Center here in Dallas and I've worked really hard to get my stamina back, but I still want the device because I still feel more secure when I have it.

But something happened before however, after I got my senses back together, I should have mashed the thing and called for help but I didn’t want to make it hard on the people so as soon as I got my senses back and I saw that I'm not bleeding, I kind of write it off.

I got a GreatCall Splash device due to its mobility and no matter where I'll be, they would know where I am with its GPS ability. Also, they had pretty high marks when I checked 10 different ones.

I make sure that I carry it with me when I’m on a golf course or when I’m anywhere. It’s a nice thing to have, and I carry it with me even though I’m with people. The small version is like a phone, and I carry it in my pocket. I’ve pressed the button by mistake one day and the people at GreatCall were very quick to respond. I heard them in my pocket talking to me, and I told them that I had done that by mistake. It gives me peace of mind. I’ve had no problem with it at all. Once I charge it up, it lasts for quite a while, so that’s a good thing. I haven't had to use it yet, which is good.

If I need a policeman, they will call them as well. If I get lost, they'll get me home. If I would fall in the parking lot, I could get help. The device also has great battery life. Their representatives have been very nice. Sometimes I hit the button just to see if it's still alive and the representatives say they're there. The only thing my kids wanted for me before I left the facility was that I get something. I put them on the research because they're better at it than I am and they unanimously recommended GreatCall Splash, and before I left the facility, I had it.

Originally, I wore it all the time, 24/7, in the shower and wouldn't dream of being without it. But I'm stronger now than I was so right now, I use it more for the comfort it gives rather than need. I pretty much only use the device at night when I get up to go to the bathroom or if I'm taking a long ride alone in the car, I'll take it with me. I do a lot of traveling and I like that the device is mobile. It can't give me a hug or lift me up but it's the next best thing giving me a sense that I'm not alone and somebody's there. The GreatCall Splash was originally for my wife who has COPD but she never got to use it because she had a fall before we got it and died two months later. So now, I have been wearing it. It gives me confidence. It's cheaper, it goes everywhere I go and it says where I am. It's only 15 bucks plus tax. I wear it around the house and I've been very satisfied with it. The police had told me that if I fall here in the house and they don't have the key that they can get to, the only way they can get it in is to break in but if I'm not in horrible pain, I can tell the cops who would call to call the two local people who has the key to the house.

What I'm concerned about is if I visit my wife's grave site and I were to slip and fall there, there's no way I could get myself up. It's not so bad if something happens and I'm in the house. I wouldn't have any hesitation to push the button. I'm ashamed of myself when I don't wear it but I do wear it to the cemetery. I found several different ones to look at and I called and got information about one of them. The price was totally out of this world so I didn't want it. Then a friend told me about GreatCall and that I could pick it up at Walmart. I didn’t have to order it, so I gave it a try. Rather than wearing the device around my neck out in public, I hang it on the knob of my vanity in my bathroom since it's the handiest place. Since a lot of falls happen in the bathroom, I wanted it in there. It’s on a cord and it hangs down about six inches off the floor. That way, if I should fall, it will be close to the floor. Overall, I'm another satisfied customer.

A few years back, about 15 minutes after my husband had gone to work, I fell on the floor and broke my femur. Nobody could hear me and I laid there for about five hours until my husband got back home. I was taken to the hospital and ever since then, I said I'm not gonna be by myself and not have any help. I used another medical alert before but when I compared it with GreatCall, I thought GreatCall was a better fit for me because I could take it outside, go anywhere and still have the ability to contact somebody if I need them. Also, it has a better price. I haven't had to use it yet but two weeks ago, I had a hit and run car accident and my car was totaled and I was in a daze when it happened. They took me straight to the hospital. Luckily, I wasn't hurt badly but must stay in the hospital. When I thought about it I said thank goodness I had my device in case I would have needed it.

My children who are out of state and I have much more peace of mind since I had it. One time I realized how sensitive the device was because I was at the foot of my bed, tossed it up with the head of the bed before I put in the cradle, set the device off and GreatCall called me. The people I spoke with were very polite and courteous. I've paid extra for the fall part of the device but it's very well worth it. Also, I go places with my business and with my family and I wanted something that doesn't lock me with the little thing that they have that can alert the host. I have good confidence with it because when I go out of town, they have my information.

I lost it one time and they helped me find it by ringing it. It went down my lift chair and I could not find it. I called them and a friend came over. It was a neat experience. I have not used it yet for emergencies which is nice. Their reps have been excellent. They were so ready to help when I lost the device. And when my credit card that they automatically take payment off had expired, I had forgotten to tell them about it. And so they called and I was double billed and they said they would take off one of those billings. It all worked out good. They have very polite people on the phone.

It was portable and there was a GPS but there was that base telephone. So I had all these equipment around and it's driving me crazy so I decided to get the GreatCall device. It goes anywhere with me and doesn't have to have a lot of equipment.

The device ran out of charge one day 'cause I was gone for so long and I hadn't charged it before. It warned me but I couldn't figure out where it's coming from 'cause I have so many things that beep. So it's good that it warned me. The only problem I have with it is that it's heavy and it could be a little thinner. I wear it around my neck and it has to be supported somewhere. I have to put it in my bra otherwise, I get a neck ache with it. Other than that, GreatCall is great. It's useful. I have recommended it.

GreatCall is very good to have. I live with my daughter and her husband and whenever I’m alone in the house, I wear it. When they’re here, I usually just have it next to me. It’s given them a lot of peace about me being alright because I have a heart condition. Sometimes I almost feel I don’t need it, but it’s worth it. It works beautifully and I love the whole setup. I haven’t had to use it but it’s good to know what will happen if I do have an emergency. It's wonderful and I’m happy that I have it if I happen to need help.

GreatCall called me once when my fall detector somehow triggered even though I hadn't fallen. It was very efficient the way they handled it. They had to talk quite a while before I answered because I don’t hear real well. I thought the home phone had rung and I was hearing the answering machine, so it took me a little while to realize I wasn’t wearing the device at the time. I had to reassure them that I was all right, but I was thankful. I was a little intimidated by the device, like I felt something bad was going to happen, but because of that call, it put my mind at rest to see how it works. So I was really glad that it happened.

It got to a point where my wife said she'd feel more secure if I have something that I can press a button and get some help and so we got a GreatCall Splash. GreatCall makes me more confident than my wife. She likes the link wherein she can check up on me and see when I leave and come back in the house. The only thing that I don't like is the rope to hang the device around the neck. GreatCall should have something adjustable because for instance when I drive, I have to move it over to the side so the seatbelt doesn’t hit where the button is.

Being 75 years old and living alone is the main reason I got GreatCall Splash, and now I'm less concerned especially about taking a shower and falling. I also do yard mowing in a lot of areas where I would not be seen from people passing on the road, and with the device, I feel I have extra protection with me. the GreatCall team is very friendly and knowledgeable the times I've called them.

The size of the device is the only thing I would be critical on. It is larger than I expected it to be and I thought there was no way I could wear it on the wristband. However, I had a chain so I could put it on and drop it down in a nice pocket in my bra. That way, it takes the weight off of the chain and the imprint doesn't show through my tops. I would prefer it was something a bit smaller, but I've gotten used to it and now wear it faithfully. Then once in church, it started that little chime of when it's either low battery or no signal, and I had not been turning it on and off. I pushed the button to turn it off, but it announced loudly, “We're turning you off". Now, before going into church, I go ahead and turn it off.

It's very satisfying to have it and I've talked to other people into getting it. I was talking with a rep recently and I told him that I had referred two people who had purchased it. He said he'll make sure the company submitted my name to get the rebate. This has happened within the past week and both parties have called and said they acknowledged that this was still within the timeframe and also within the period of time I would be seeing the credit. Then the people I referred also get a credit for accepting the referral.

The rep also mentioned something regarding adding the fall detection to the device and I asked him to send me information on that, but I haven't received it yet. I also asked him if the alarm would set off when I ride a lawn mower and the device gets shaken and juggled around and he said no. There's constant vibration where the fall detection is more of one bonk on the ground, but I may consider that as even if I don't consider myself a fall risk, I'll never know.

I got GreatCall Splash strictly for prevention to be sure that I have something since I'm a widow and I live alone. I used another medical alert service before but Splash covers things other than medical and also covers away from home, which the other one didn’t thus, I switched. My friend who recommended it to me kept it in her bra, and it was always right there where you could get it out. However, someone said something about the radiation so we put it in our pocket and the purse went through the washer. I felt better and safer when I was carrying it with me all the time instead of having it in my purse or pocket. If I can carry it in my bra and it's fine. I really feel better knowing it's there and it's closer that I can get to it than having to rummage through my purse to find it. So I would really like to carry it there if I can but I have to find out about this radiation.

Also, I was told that they always know where we are by satellite. However, the person I talked to when I had a problem didn't know where I was. It wasn’t a medical problem though. My key would not turn in my ignition so I wound up having to get AAA, and the GreatCall rep had to get one close to where I was. Then the person asked me where I was and had me turn the steering wheel to the right and it turned on. The AAA person was able to solve my problem over the phone. Before having a medical alert device, I thought I'm infallible. Then I fractured my pelvic last June and I was very blessed because that day my son and my grandson were upgrading my computer when I tripped on the edge of the room. So I told my son, “I think it's time for me to get one,” and he said, “I'm gonna go get one right now, mom. Before you get home, you'd have it." I did and it's been very, very rewarding because being a widow and being by myself, it's like a security blanket. It makes me feel safe and it's really good.

Since using GreatCall Splash, I have less worries and I feel more independent. I've got it where I won't wear it around my neck because that’s the only thing I have against it. It's like wearing a heavy necklace. I put it around my neck and every time I bend over, the thing’s dangling. And I'd say, “No,” then I would hate it and I don’t wanna hate it. Or I won't have a bracelet because I work in the yard and I'm watering so I had a keychain. I worked in the school system for 35 years in California and I used the keychain I used to use years ago with a small cellphone and I've worked it out where I can hook it to my belt loop and put it in my pocket. It'll scoot out a little bit but I push it back in when I'm sitting down and it worked. It's something GreatCall might wanna think about creating.

The way I've got it is fine but it took a little while to become convenient or comfortable to wear. It's like hanging keys to my pocket. It's not that heavy but I had to get used to it and once I did, I couldn't be without it. I got to routinely charge the battery every night right at my bedside, put it on in the morning, then take it off at night. The only thing now that I got to remember is when I travel, I have to disconnect the battery charger and bring it with me. The only experience I've had interacting with the GreatCall team is – my daughter-in-law’s mom has it. So it cracks – we'd giggle when her phone goes off, “Oh, Shirley’s out and about,” or her mom’s trying to get her and it will come through, “Answer your phone. Your mother is calling.” I like that.

And what I also like – I am gonna go to Texas to spend a couple weeks with my son down there and daughter-in-law. I can hook them up when I need them on it, and then I could take them off when I don’t need them when I'm back here in Idaho. So that is nice. That way they know where mom is. Things change when you become by yourself. I've been by myself 18 years now when my husband had kidney cancer. So I opted to come up here to be close with all my grandkids. Moreover, customer service was awesome. They helped me because I was trying to figure out, “Okay. How do I do this? How do I get Chuck and Irene on this thing?” They were good with my son too when he was trying to get everything started.

When I've been with my daughter-in-law and hers has gone off because of her mom, I haven't had to do that. I hear it come on but it’d go every month, “Welcome to GreatCall.” I gather they're connecting everything. But when I'm with her and it's working, it creates talk among even the secretaries and nurses in the doctor’s office when I took my daughter-in-law, and they're like, “Oh, it works that good?”, because they're facing the same challenges. Their parents are getting older. You see it advertised and when you hear other people having the experience, you'd go, “Wow. That really works. Did it?” Promotes them thinking, “Maybe I should get it for my mom or my uncle".

I'm very pleased with it. I've told a lot of people about it. If I break down, GreatCall’s gonna let my kids know, if my phone died because of the battery in it or whatever, “Mom needs your help.” That’s important especially when you're in a middle of the country like I am now, or in the city, even anywhere you go. I think it's a great invention.

At the time I took GreatCall, it was because I could use their device in the shower. That’s essential for me that I have it in the bathroom. Also when I fall, I have to have somebody pick me up. I have a scooter that I go out on. I wear the device in case something happened to me while I'm out and about. I feel much safer. If I didn’t have it, I would really be lost because I can't always reach the phone to dial 911. But I find the lanyard to be quite heavy in my clothes. I don’t like to wear it outside and I can't wear it on my arms but I like to wear it in.

I've had two different experiences with GreatCall. I've had to call three times because I fell. And the fire department came with the medics and picked me up. The last experience that I had was that I lost the device off of my lanyard. I called and the girl that answered was very helpful. She directed me how to find it and then told me that if it was along the road, they would keep beeping it so that I could go down the road and find it. Fortunately, it was in the house. That is terrific that they can buzz the thing so that I can find it.

I live alone and I tend to lose my balance. I've wanted a a medical alert device and GreatCall Splash was about 25% cheaper than my previous device. I don't really feel that I need it in one sense. It is 30-something bucks a month, but I got it to have as a backup in case. It's there if I need it. My sons can know where I am if I'm at any place around the country, 'cause that gives that map of location. I found out it doesn't work out of the country but that's understandable. Also, my family will know if I had any trouble because they'll get alerted too if I would need to use it. I called GreatCall to confirm that it's working. I do a test every once in a while too. The reps are very courteous and wanna make sure everything is really okay.

My son got GreatCall Splash for me because I had fallen a few times. I didn't think I'd need it, but because I'm getting older, he figured out I should have it. It's just a piece of care that I have in case I'm all by myself for a walk, in the church, visiting friends, even in the bath, and when I do go out to the yard and stay out for long or go someplace I'm not familiar with. It's convenient and it's very easy to wear. I'm glad that this is available to use so easily and I'm satisfied. I've had people that fall down and not have any help and I don't wanna be in that situation. I'm trying to get other ladies I know to have GreatCall device too so they seemed to be interested and I hope they would take advantage of that also.

My niece wanted me to have a medical alert device because I live alone and I've been having some knee problems since I had knee surgery. She got me GreatCall Splash as she had for her parents and mother-in-law and she pays for it. I'm just annoyed with it because it's so big. And if the lanyard were a little bit longer, it would fit a little bit lower to tuck into my bra. It's just kind of annoying to me but I've learned to tolerate it. The GreatCall representative was helpful when we've set it up, and I know that help is there in case I fall.

And I have another unit on me all the time, which works on the telephone line. With my medical alert, I feel more independent and have fewer worries. It seems to be what I need and it’s a great consolation to me that it’s available. I purchased the deluxe version of the system and when I activated it, several pieces didn’t come with it, but they supplied them to me free of charge. So I really liked that idea. They're prompt, convenient, comforting, available and able to work everywhere. Their team was very friendly, too.

It didn’t activate the fall detection algorithm, so I was a little bit disappointed in that. It wasn’t anything serious, but I was a little concerned. And then I had another experience where I was bending over and trying to clean something. Since GreatCall was hanging around my neck, I whipped it around to the back of my neck so it wouldn't get wet or dirty, and it activated the fall detector. The real fall wasn’t detected but the non-fall was detected. I just hope that it works when I really need it. I still keep my old medical alert device because it's only good at home and it's available 24/7, and I like to have something with me during the night while I'm charging the Splash.

My wife has AFib and had to have ablation and we have to watch her heart. She might have a need to call someone if she's alone, so I got her a GreatCall Splash device. Her device has a capability of calling me wherever I am through my cell phone immediately when she pushed a button. It also calls the emergency people that are monitoring the system and it also has the ability to directly call 911. The GreatCall Splash customer service reps were helpful. They provided us with guidance by setting the unit up and we forwarded all the information and medical history that my wife has via fax and they have that all on file.

My wife's device is a standby unit that she can utilize when she has to be alone. It also can be used in the event of emergencies other than medical. It can be used as a device that can call the police in this area or any other type of emergency people like the fire department or anything else that she might need. It's a handy unit to have around and up to this point, it totally satisfies our needs. Fortunately, there wasn't any specific occasion that we've had to use it but it's very comforting for my wife to know that it's available should she need it. It gives her a feeling of confidence and security.

One night, I forgot I had it on, and I took my shirt off over my head, and it went flying. And then in November, I had a freaky accident and broke all the bones in my right ankle and my left kneecap is still broken. They did two surgeries but couldn't repair it, so I have to use a walker all the time. I haven't fallen in quite some time, but I have a tendency to fall and my husband, Ron, doesn't want me to be down in the basement by myself when he's not around, so I bought the GreatCall device.

With that device on, I feel good when I'm downstairs or when I'm alone in the house for any length of time. Like today, I was going down the basement and Ron was playing golf. So, I put the device on, went down and worked in the basement. I also ended up wearing it in the doctor's appointment which I don't normally do because I wouldn't have needed it since I was with my sister.

It's only time ever been activated is when I once threw it on the bed and it denoted that it was a fall so their staff, and Ron, called me. Then one time, I hadn't locked the back thing and it fell to the floor, so they called me. Then Ron tossed it to me one time and it went off. So, those three times, they were very quick when they called me. That's why I've told people about GreatCall.

I'm at a high risk for falls because I've had both knees replaced and I've got bad arthritis in my feet. I fell and ended up in an emergency room five times in eight months. Also, my husband passed away this year so I'm alone. I have followed John Walsh ever since his child died, and I know he would not be backing GreatCall if it wasn't good. I also talked with seniors who were over 80 that I knew because I knew what they had been through and they ended up with GreatCall. So that's all I needed to hear and ended up getting one for myself as well. Everybody in GreatCall could not have been more helpful in the beginning if I pushed it to make sure I knew what I was doing and how it was going to respond. It was fantastic and could not have been better. I'm so glad I chose GreatCall initially.

I put my device on the nightstand beside my bed at night so if my door rattled for any rhyme or reason, all I have to do is push the button and I feel very safe at home alone with that. I also carry it with me. My kids fuss at me all the time because I don't wear it around my neck because it's hot that way in the summer, but I do in the wintertime. I try to keep it with me at all times for my safety but I don't intend to fall and stumble over my own feet. I'm not house-bound, by any means, and a very useful 69-year-old who is on the go all the time.

I like to hide it in the wintertime beneath sweaters or stick it in my bra, that's how these other ladies who are very highfalutin 80-some-year-olds use it. I feel very comfortable with it there because if I was putting groceries in the car or at Walmart putting stuff in where there's a huge parking lot, if anything happened, all I'd have to do is touch my bra. Plus it's not hanging around my neck unlike in the summertime when I wear a lower cut top and it's very evident. However, I don't think I could live without it.

I'm a big sales pitch person for the company all this time. Every coupon I see in the newspaper or little flyer, I cut out because I know somebody's going to come around that needs it. Not only that, I have recommended it to numerous people that have gotten them and I've got a few more who are now in the process of ordering them.

There were three test calls and a couple of times, the green button turned red, but the rep said, "I think when you hang up, it'll reset". I'm getting older, and GreatCall is something that I did for myself. I went on the internet and searched around. All the alarm companies were way too expensive, but in GreatCall's case, it seemed reasonable. I used to wear it on a lanyard with the little clip, but it came apart a couple of times. So I inserted a little piece of plastic behind the belt clip, right on top where I put a key ring device, to secure it and so it doesn't come off very easily.

I have grandchildren in Arizona, and we go out there every once in a while. One time, I had forgotten to take along the charger base. I took the little tab off the side of the GreatCall device and found that it's an ordinary USB micro connector. I was able to charge it by plugging it into a USB outlet with a USB micro connector on the end, and it worked fine. That wasn't mentioned in the manuals or in any of the instructions, but it probably compromised the waterproof abilities. But I don't take it in the shower with me.

For all intents and purposes, everything is working fine. The GreatCall device seems to charge properly and stays charged. Anytime I pushed the button, it's only been to confirm that it's working properly, and I make it very clear that it's not an emergency. When I push the button, customer service answers within ten seconds or so, and that's good. I definitely recommend it to friends.

I used it once too when my husband was in the nursing home and I realized I was scared being alone at home. Unfortunately, there are a few areas we got to where it doesn't get signal. But that's a cell phone issue, not GreatCall's. We have recommended this device to friends.

Their team has always been friendly and helpful. They always make sure that we feel safe before they move on and hang up the call. They tell us to push the button again if we need more help. At one point, his card that the device was being charged on got lost, their representative called us and kept it linked up until they were able to get hold of us instead of cutting it off. Hence, I've always felt comfortable with that. It gives my husband more independence knowing that he's got something that's just a push of a button away. I feel more free as well. I'm still working full-time and I feel much more comfortable with leaving him, knowing that the device is always on-hand. We normally make sure that he's safe before we leave, but things happen, and it's such a joy to be able to have the GreatCall Splash.

I like the fact that it wasn’t tied to a phone in the house, that it had GPS and I could take it with me any place I went. Unlike the one I tried previously wherein it was tied to my home phone, if I was someplace else and I went down, it would do me no good. GreatCall is heavier than I thought and I am irritated by things hanging around my neck. I just stick it in my pocket and figure if I'm gonna be some place and fall, I'll hit the button.

I haven’t fallen though but I like the fact that when I push that button for a fire, burglar or medical emergency, with the GPS, they'll find me. I have not checked in areas that might be inaccessible. When my children have traveled around the country, sometimes they call me and they can't get a signal so I don’t know if that is a problem with GreatCall. I think I would use it more if I didn’t have this much family around me. I liked that GreatCall followed up and wanted to make sure everything was all right. I was pleased with that.

I went from one end of my kitchen to the other, then the walker went over on top of me and I ended up in my emergency room. That's what made my friend decide that I needed GreatCall, and it really has come in handy - I've been stubborn thinking that I can take care of myself.

Since then, I've had a couple more accidents that had happened to me. I was walking over to my den with my walker but I turned too fast going around a corner, so I lost my balance and fell on my back. GreatCall came and picked me up, but I didn't have any injury. The last time I had an accident, I took something out of the refrigerator and it got sprinkled on my white floor. I grabbed my little carpet sweeper and when I was sweeping that thing, I lost my balance and broke my wrist. But the GreatCall device serves the purpose. I thought I could yell out loud when in an emergency but I can't, so it's worth having.

One problem I have is that it gets caught in the drawer when I'm working and all of the sudden, it falls between the handle and the sink or the cupboards. The other day I got the device caught in the drawer but fortunately the manager in our building is smart and put the alert device together. I was glad to get GreatCall and am satisfied with it.

I had a different medical alert device but it didn’t cover the area that I needed to have covered. I don’t stay in my house all the time and the device I had was good for only 600 feet from the little box that they sent me. They didn’t have anything any better so I sent it back to them. I watched TV and I saw the ad for GreatCall Splash and went with it. I got the GreatCall by itself at first and then I called and asked if they had any device that if I fell and couldn’t push the little button, it would work. They sent me the fall detector. I have that and my GreatCall device is hanging around my neck. So far, I’m happy with the device. I wear it all the time except at night. I have recommended GreatCall to a friend and he ordered it. We're supposed to get $25 each, but we haven’t received our money.

My experience with GreatCall Splash is nothing but good. I always have my device on me or somewhere near me. Though I’ve never used it, GreatCall has been efficient and everything’s fine.

I am very happy with my GreatCall Splash. I feel so secure because the other one that I had used to call, “Emergency! Emergency!” But then if I went out, nothing happened. With this one, I carry it with me all the time. I wear it because I am all alone. My husband died a year ago and my nephews live far away. When I’m walking to the cemetery and somebody is following me who I don’t know, I can call. I also tried the device out of my town. I was visiting a friend who is alone and I wanted to show her. I pressed the button and I said, “I’m just testing it.” They tell me, “Yes. If you don’t need anything, don’t worry. You can test it whenever you want to.” My friend said she'll perhaps get one. I’m trying to tell everybody to take one because I love it. Everybody there is so helpful and friendly. I feel very comfortable.

There were some days that I’m weak and there were some days that I’m strong, and so I needed a medical alert device. I used one and I wasn’t happy with it then I got GreatCall Splash. My granddaughter told me how to check it. I'd push once and then I'd push again and the call is canceled. But evidently, it didn’t cancel because someone from GreatCall called me on the phone to see if I was all right. It worked out fine and I haven’t had any emergency.

All my life I have been a faller and because I had spine surgery and came out of the hospital not being able to walk, I got myself GreatCall. It's been good in the two times I've used it within the first year of having it. Both times I appreciated the person who responded asking me if I wanted him to stay on the line until help came. I could hear him clearly and it was a good experience. I won't give up GreatCall now. In fact, I was talking with my caregiver who recently had a heart attack and wanted to know about GreatCall since people told her that she needed to get one of these devices.

I'm 85 and I have had one fall where I fractured my knee and everybody kept telling me that I have to get a lifeline. So my daughter and I looked around for one and we saw GreatCall. I haven't really used it but I'm very pleased with it. I have set it off twice by accident. But now, I wear it back to front so that the button is against me and I won't set it off. Because before, I would sit down at a table and I'd set it off and I would lean over my sink and I set it off accidentally. But I’m well with it and I’ve had no complaints about it. I would certainly recommend it to anybody because it is very good.

My husband passed away and I have MS so I feel safer and more independent having a medical alert device. I've had friends use different companies and the one that got the most positive feedback was the one who had a GreatCall. Iwould like the device if it was a little bit smaller but I keep it on a lanyard around my neck. Their customer service team is quite good and I've had very positive experiences with them, even the one time I called accidentally. They have extremely pleasant staff that are very good at keeping people calm. I've turned at least one person onto GreatCall.
