I live in a facility where there's a lot of older people. I was talking to a lady here one day and she told me how she was enjoying her medical alert device. I wanted one but I didn't know which kind so I called GreatCall Splash after that. I feel definitely safer to have my GreatCall Splash around my neck. If I'd fall or do anything that I needed help, I'd have some help right there. Additionally, their team was very courteous. Both times that I had to call, they took care of me and kept me calm until help arrived. They kept me on the line until the fireman walked in my door. I've had a very good experience both times and I'm very satisfied.

I wear my GreatCall device especially when my husband leaves the house because I have this fear of falling, and I’ve fallen many times before I got it. And so I leave it on until he’s around again. It’s been working beautifully, and I feel very safe when I have it on. I can go outside and walk to the mailbox while wearing it, knowing that if I did fall it would go off. We tested it once. My companion dropped it on the bed to see if it worked and it went right off. When we first got it, the people at GreatCall said that they were going to upgrade the batteries because once I had the fall protection activated, it sucked up the batteries. We now have to charge it several times a day. It doesn’t seem to hold enough charge to be really safe, so maybe that’s something they should address. But I would recommend it to a friend right away.

I'm 66 years old with some health problems and I live in a semi-rural area. I walk 2.5 miles on most days and I couldn't do that if I didn't have something. So I looked at medical alert devices for a couple of years trying to decide which one I wanted. And I thoroughly love the GreatCall Splash and the fact that it's not connected to a home phone line since all I have is a cell phone. I can carry it with me wherever I go. I also just didn't want to fall in the house and not be able to get a hold of anybody to take care of me and I do not want to live in a nursing home.

I feel safer with the device, knowing that I have something like that and that I can go about my daily existence without having to worry or worry somebody else either. It just hangs around my neck and I don't care what people think. I've stubbed my toe and fell on one of my walks and I was gratified because they came on right away and asked me if I was okay. I was not hurt or injured and I was able to get up on my own. But if I don't press the button to cancel the call, then they automatically send somebody to me.

Their team has also gone well out of their way to help me. I had to change credit cards quickly after I got the device and they were very nice. I got a letter that was probably already in the mail when I called them. I've been pleased with the GreatCall Splash. I am so glad that I purchased it and the fall plan. I tell people all the time that if they live on their own, this is what they need.

Back in November, I was cleaning up the yard. I have a riding tractor and was taking the leaves and dumping them in the woods. I tripped on a tree root and slammed my face into the hard ground and jammed my hands and shoulder. I just got done with two months of physical therapy. My friend and his wife have been bugging me, since I'm by myself since my wife passed, that I needed to get a medical alert device. A friend of mine has one, too. Finally I decided I'd look around. I got to GreatCall and saw how well they did. I called a couple of times before I eventually decided. I was more than pleased with my first interaction with their team. I read the reviews ahead of time and everybody complimented them on their customer service and I have to totally agree. So far, the device has been fine. I'm getting my money's worth.

I live alone and my kids were worried about me falling and not being able to get help so I needed a medical alert device. I wanted something mobile that I can bring with me when I go out and not something that would just be for the house alone so I got GreatCall's medical alert. It would have been good if it came with more than one lanyard because if I'm going to wear it in the shower, the cord gets wet. Then if I'm going out right away, it either gets my clothes wet or it's uncomfortable or it's cold when I'm going out into the cold. If it had more than one lanyard, I could change it and have a dry one to go out with. But other than that, I've been very happy with it.

After several months, my GreatCall Splash is working fine so far. I got it mostly due to my health. The device is like a part of me. When I get up in the morning, it goes around my neck and it stays with me until I'm ready for bed. I don't go anywhere without it. Since my initial contact with their customer service, they've always been friendly and helpful. They know where I am 24 hours a day. It's easier for my family to know exactly if something happens. They have the peace of mind knowing that the GreatCall is with me and they could be in touch with me wherever I am. It's a great experience. I tell everybody about it.

I went in the bathtub to take a bath and I couldn’t get out of it. I don’t know why because I always did before that, but that day I couldn’t. I didn’t have any medical alert device that’s why I lied in the tub for some time. I live in an apartment building and the girl next to me heard me call but she didn’t do anything about it. So I got with GreatCall Splash and they sent me a device that I hook in my pocket. It’s a handy thing to have. I’m 82 years old and I never know what’s going to happen from day to day but I am not worried very much now because I have protection with me. If I happen to fall, I’ve got something that I can call somebody. I’d recommend GreatCall Splash.

I used to have Life Alert, but it only was good for in my house and its surrounding area. I wanted something that would be farther-reaching and with the Greatcall with the GPS, I can be found any place in the United States. Life Alert is also more expensive and didn't cover as much. I like Greatcall but didn't care for the black cord which they kept pushing. I found a pretty gold necklace that if I doubled it, worked perfect for it. So I wear it all the time on the inside and usually I tuck it in my bra with that necklace.

I'm 80 and I live alone so I needed a medical alert device and got GreatCall Splash. I feel independent as it works wherever I am. It has a tracking device so if I should start to lose my memory, my family can download that to their phone to know where I am. Then I needed the customer service's help getting started. The device reboots from time to time and I couldn't figure out what that was and so I called them and asked. They've been right there, they're very easy to deal with and always have answers. They're knowledgeable and I'm happy with my choice. The alert device has a clip and most of them have a lanyard to hang around the neck. I can't wear anything around mine but it has a clip that I can clip to my clothes so it works fine for me. I am relieved to have it although I haven't needed to use it.

I'm a widower and I live alone. Last May, I had a stroke. As a consequence, my mobility and my activity have slowed down. The steadiness has not been as good as it once was. And although I've always had my cell phone nearby, I felt the GreatCall Splash Medical Alert was something I needed. My daughter did get a different device for me before but unlike the GreatCall Splash, it wasn't portable. It was fixed and had to stay here. Since I drove up to St. Joe occasionally, I wanted one I could take with me. I have the GreatCall Splash in my home. It's at a central place where I can get to it if I need it. I also take it with me when I drive to a neighboring city about 50 miles away. I haven't been worried when I go out. If something should happen, I know it's something I could put my hands on and use. It's a good product at a good price. It's been great. I haven't had any problems in any way.

Back in September, I took a fall and my ball joint came out of the socket in my hip, and the family insisted I get a medical alert. I don't wear the device, but I keep it beside my bed. My main concern was having it at night when I get up in the night. But other than that, I'm fine. Since I used GreatCall Splash, I feel safe and it's a good thing to have because I don't ever know what's gonna happen from one day to the next. I'm glad I have it and hope I don't ever have to use it. The team is very professional and friendly. I have had not nothing but good experiences with them. I feel that if I really needed to use it, that they would be there for me. And that's a big comfort and relief.

However, I wear it in a sweater on the dresser beside the bed. The device is comfortable to wear, and it gives me the confidence to get out more. I do a lot of outside work and I was afraid I was going to fall at any time. I haven't fallen since I got it. I was changing up some shelves and I bumped it a couple of times. I'm out and about a lot and I live in a slippery country. I'm 89 years old and I thought I better have something for insurance. I switched to GreatCall because I didn't like the other medical alert device as when I would check it, the agents were very slow in answering and I could've gotten out my cellphone and called for help by the time they answered. When I check with GreatCall, they answer immediately. I have a much better response time with them. Their device is very handy, I don't have a lot of extra equipment sitting around like I did on the other one, because they had something for indoors and another thing for outdoors. GreatCall is easy to take on and off and to put in its charger and I have no quarrel with it at all. The only thing that amuses me was the gal that I talked to to get it said it was the size of a domino, and I think that's about the largest domino I ever saw. It works fine and is a good insurance.

My mother has fallen quite a few times and in the last few months, she'd had a lot of heart problems and gets out of breath easily. She can't always get to her phone, so we thought that by letting her wear a GreatCall around her neck, somebody gets notified if she falls because we have the unit with the fall detector. And, if she can't get to her phone, she can press the button. Also, it was recommended by her visiting nurses. We've actually used it twice in an emergency already.

Since she had the device, my sister and I both feel less worried. My mother finds it easy to use and to put in the holder to recharge it at night. The first time the device was pressed, somebody stayed right on the phone with her until the ambulance got here. My sister is the phone number that's on there, and they notified her about the emergency. However, the second time we used it, my sister did not get a phone call or a text message and I didn't know why. Still, we've been very happy with it. I have recommended it to friends who have elderly parents.

And I have trouble finding something to put on it to wear around my neck. Also the little place where one can slip something to put around the neck isn't very large, so it limits what I can use. On the other hand, their rep was a very nice young man. He helped me greatly. Overall, I like the fact that I don't have anything sitting around with it and that it's the only thing I have. I was using another medical alert service before and a woman called and explained what the advantages were with 5star. My wife and I decided we wanted that so we switched to GreatCallt. I tried it out in Palos Hills and it pinpointed me to the right address. When I go to the doctors out there in Palos or when I have my chemo treatment in Tinley, they know exactly where I'm at and that makes me feel safe. It can pinpoint where I am in case I fall, and I can even go out of state or visit my daughter in Iowa and I don't have to worry. I don't forget it like the other one that I have. I hated that thing so bad and I griped about it all the time. The bracelet would stick to everything, it was like velcro. It was cheap looking, it gets dirty and it smells. I didn't like the necklace either because it got in the way, it was too long and hanging around. I live in a farm. I have seven horses and a donkey that I take care of and I’m usually in the barn by myself because my husband is disabled. I could be out there for two or three hours and he couldn’t come to check me because he in particular could not walk. So, my kids were after me and wanted me to have a GreatCall Splash. I thought maybe it’s not a bad idea. When we had a Christmas drawing, my grandson drew my name and he got the instrument itself for me. And, it’s worked very well so far.

Any time I’m not in the house, I wear it. But they need a better lanyard. I’ve been looking for a referee’s lanyard and I found one that I can use. I’m sure this is not what’s it intended for, but because of it I don’t have to hook or unhook the device. It’s an elastic piece and it’s just hangs down right above my heart and I can actually shorten it. I can wear the device and put it in my pocket. It still has the lanyard on it and I can move it. I'm happy with GreatCall. I pressed the button once and I did go into the hospital and their reps were really professional. I also recommended it to others. I have shown it to many people and they say it's not a bad idea. Also, my kids told me they can now relax since I got GreatCall.

I’m 86 years old and I used to have an alert but then I gave it up when I moved in an independent living and we have a lot of help here. Then I was travelling to my daughter’s in New York and I thought I should have one again so I got one from GreatCall. It was cheaper than what everybody else was paying for this, although it wasn’t like the one I had and it's too long that I can’t wear it around my neck. At night, I leave it next to my bed to charge it and at daytime, I take it with me. But I stay in here most of the time so I don’t carry it and I put it in my pocket if I have one. So half the time, I don’t use it. I also want it as when I’m in the living room, I spend a lot of time watching television and there’s nothing to pull in there, whereas in my bedroom or in the bathroom I can pull a cord and they would call. A friend of mine fell and couldn’t get up to get to any place to ring the bell.

I kept looking at it when I forget to take it and I said to myself that why don't I just get rid of it. I called them and their customer service was very nice and the rep reduced the price a little bit. She also sent me a chain that I can pull up the middle part but that doesn’t do anything or make it shorter and it still goes down to pass where my pants stop. It’s big and it’s hard to wear. All my friends wear it around their neck which I did too when I had the other one years ago, but after my husband died and I moved here, I tried to cut cost some things but then I decided I’d like to have one again. I’m not using it enough. I’m on a budget, I did it against my better judgement and I’ve been disappointed. But I’m satisfied with the price and with who I spoke to that she did try to accommodate me.

The only time I heard from the GreatCall team was when they turned the device on, but they were nice as they could be and I didn't see a thing wrong. When I do wear the device on my neck, it's okay, but he had cut some of the string off and he's gonna have to cut it off a bit more because it's heavy and long for me as well.

With GreatCall Splash, I know that somebody is there if I need them and I know that they'll get my husband for me. One time I was in the bathtub. My husband was in his office and that's quite a way's away from the bathroom. I kept hollering and he didn't hear me so I pressed the button just lightly and I got 5Star. I said to them "I need my husband. He's in his office and he can't hear me. I'm in the tub". My husband got a telephone call telling him I was in the bathroom.

We're on the road every morning for about five hours, delivering newspapers. One reason we went for GreatCall Splash is because it'll work anywhere we are. If something happens to us, we can get help. We found out that it doesn't activate on falls though. The girl that I talked to said if I wanted the fall piece I had to pay almost twice as much amount. But their team is very courteous and friendly and I feel more confident with GreatCall Splash.

Both of my legs have been amputated last December. So, I'm afraid that if I fall I might not be able to get up and there might not be anybody around to pick me up. I'm living by myself so a lot of my family and friends told me to get the GreatCall Splash device which happened to be cheaper than the first alert so I got one. I accidently hit it at least twice and they were right on top of it. One time, it was a light that was coming on that I couldn't turn off so they told me what to do. Now I know how to handle that.

However, I saw a magazine ad which was cheaper than what they quoted me. They were supposed to check on it because they didn't know anything about the ad which didn't make sense to me. I never heard from them and the ad still runs for the same price, $19.99. But I'd recommend them to a friend based on the response I'm getting from the people that handle the device. I have given their ad to at least two other people in the complex I live in because we're all senior citizens. There's one particular guy who's 96. He fell, couldn't get up, had nothing to push and they didn't find him until the next day when he was lying on the floor. So his family wanted him to get a device as well.

I haven't really used my GreatCall although I wear it everyday especially when I'm away from home and even in the house but I haven't tried wearing it in the shower. I take it in the bathroom with me and loop it over on the shower door because the roping gets wet and it goes around my neck when it's wet and doesn't dry off very quickly. On the second test, another agent said that he would allow us to call another person after he has notified emergency services. Our purpose in getting this was to be discreet, when my partner who suffers from confusion is in a public place. Summoning emergency services when they are not need would be beyond embarrassing.

I feel a sense of relief in having the GreatCall medical alert device. I've only pushed the button once by accident and their response was very quick and thorough. It was ironic since I didn't know where the microphone was so when they called me, they couldn't hear me on the device. They directed me where microphone was and we claimed it so it worked fine after that. It's easy to use and a great device for a small price. I've recommended them to friends.

I am 71 years old and I had a minor stroke. My friends and family kept telling me I should get a medical alert device because I'm by myself and I do stuff (ie: hiking, biking) by myself all the time, and if I get hurt or fall down, I could use some help. So I looked into the different ones and with a lot of them, one has to have a home system. I saw GreatCall Splash in the ERP magazine and it said it was at Walmart. I checked it out at Walmart and their price was right at 20 bucks per month. Hence, I decided to go with their device.

One day, I was running some errands and I couldn't find the device. I later realized that it has a GPS function so maybe GreatCall Splash's guys can tell me where it is. So I called them and the guy I talked to said it's in the house and put on a tone on the device for me to hear and find it. I still couldn't find it so he told me to look in the driveway since that is what his screen was telling him. My driveway is 300-ft long though with six inches of snow on it. Nevertheless, I found the device there with his help and it made me a true believer. I have been recommending GreatCall Splash to everybody I know that could possibly use one.

Have had the phone since ordering the first of January. Still have not turned it over to my 90 year old mother. Issues from the beginning. MedCoach does not work at all even after numerous attempts with technical support. The account name on the website is wrong, assured it would be fixed. Didn't happen and now they tell me it's no big deal and not to worry about it. Every time the phone gets a text message from GreatCall, it also gets a phone system update text message saying that GreatCall has updated the system and shows a page full of software coding. Now tell me how this is not confusing to a 90 year old! Why can't GreatCall make that secondary text go away from being seen on the receiving phone?

The one thing GreatCall did fix was the Link Locator app. Initially that didn't work but now does. When we received the initial package contents, the Cradle Charger was broken. When I called about that, they said they would send me a new one "free". Really? Free? I paid for it initially and received a broken one. Weird. I was hoping the Jitterbug phone would replace the 5Star Alert button and a cell phone and combine it into one unit for my mom to use.

Great idea, good concept, lousy product, website and app. Needs work. Will keep because we have turned the other cell phone in and discarded the 5Star Alert button. At least when she carries the Jitterbug I can see where she is at within about a 1 mile radius. Should have gotten her an iPhone where the GPS is spot on. Would love to work with GreatCall and help improve their concept. Call centers only go by their tech support manual, and can't help with deeper technical issues. Should have availability with a developer for these kind of issues. Really wish this would have worked.

I'm allergic to wasps and bees. If I get stung and take the EpiPen, I have to be in the hospital in 15 minutes. I had a medical alert device for three years but when I pressed it, nobody responded so my daughters got me another one. They researched GreatCall Splash and thought it would be safer for me. Since getting it, I have more peace of mind. One day as I sat down on my bed, I mashed it accidentally and they responded right away. Their team called and I told them that it was a mistake. They were very nice about it and told me what to do. I appreciated that.

The only thing that bothers me is that it has to be charged every night so I don't have it at night when I go to the bathroom but I'm very careful. I make sure that my cane is by my bed so I feel safe even though I have to take it off every night. A lot of people have seen this one and they would ask how I like it, if it works and if I feel safe with it. And I have recommended it.

The GreatCall Splash device comes with belt clips on them which I was using originally. But three of them break very easily, the clips themselves are not very sturdy at all. I had to find a pouch to put the device in around my neck since when I just put a lanyard on it, I was breaking it all the time. Nevertheless, I feel more secure since using the alert service.

Since having GreatCall, I feel more independent and secure - as if I have someone with me in case I fall. I always make sure I keep it with me. But they need to improve on their clip because I can't clip it onto my key chain. It always falls off and I'm afraid of losing it. It's comfortable now that I understand what I should do. Also, I called them to test if they can locate me and they knew exactly where I was. I did it twice and I always got a friendly and helpful response. Moreover, it's a very good investment for the cost. It's a better deal than when I used to pay $40 a month to have a home service which didn't help me when I was outside the home.

I'm doing really well, I have it all the time and I take it to bed with me. It's comfortable and convenient for me. I haven’t had to use it and I'm thankful for that.

I have a degenerative joint disease in my hips, so I needed a medical alert device. Before using GreatCall, I used another medical alert service, but I decided to switch because the previous one only worked in the house. I'm usually alone when I go out, so if I fall down, at least I know I could get a voice. I test the device every month to check and make sure it is working.

However, I don’t like the way they didn’t have the clip on because I want it to go around my neck. So they sent the device where I can clip it on to my belt buckle, but it kept coming off. Eventually, it won’t clip on my belt anymore and the piece that they sent to keep it around my neck kept slipping off. If I didn’t have a t-shirt on, it will fall out. So I put it in my pocket now. Other than that, I don’t have a problem with it.

I feel very secure when I take it with me because I've had such a good response. Once, I had a delusion from some medication and I fell out. I didn't hurt myself but I needed the help to get up so I called and they sent an ambulance out right away. They were very nice and they were willing to take me to the emergency room but I didn't feel I needed to go there so the lady that was on the ambulance said, "if later on something comes up, don't be afraid to call us because we'll come out."

My daughter got GreatCall Splash for me as I'm almost 88 years old and she thought it would be a good idea for me to have one. It really gave her a peace of mind, she wouldn't have to worry when she's not in the area. She also liked the profile options online where our neighbor and its contact info was there. When I'd need anything, it'd be a lot easier for me to use the beeper which contain the medical information of my doctor and number than try to look them up and leave a message.

One of the big selling points for her was the endorsement by John Walsh who is on the board of the company. She thought it must be a good product as John was advocating for it with all the work he's doing with missing and exploited children. She went to get it and the pharmacist said, "Oh, he just recently got one for his mother." Moreover, it has a free trial and the payment plan is great too which was not walking to a subscription, it's month to month. When we tested it out the team was so good. It's great and a winner so we have recommended it to a friend.

I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I sat up for a minute and put my feet on the floor, and my legs just sort of collapsed under me. I fell down and couldn't get up. I was having a little nasty reaction to Macrodantin, but the fact that I couldn't get up alone helped me decide that I needed a device. I'm a lot more cautious now even though I have them. I'm more cautious about falling down, and now I make sure that I got both feet under me before I stand up.

The medical alert device is very convenient. It's either in my pocket or hanging around my neck all my waking hours. When I'm not awake, it's right in the charging device beside my bed. I've had to use it a couple of times. They don't call to check regularly, but on the two occasions that I've had to push the button, they've answered immediately and stayed with me until help came. They're very good, and they've been very knowledgeable and helpful. Other devices that I looked into, I had to be within a hundred yards in my home or something like that but with GreatCall, I can be any place and push the button and they respond. So I'm happy with GreatCall Splash. The only thing they could do to improve it would be to make it a smaller device that I could wear more conveniently on my wrist.

I haven't used my GreatCall Splash device but my girl friend has used hers and she was very impressed. She started to feel dizzy and she pressed the button, and as she's talking to the operator, the ambulance came. So it was very, very fast. I feel very secure with it. I'm getting older and sometimes I feel a little woozy or something and my balance goes over. I wanted my husband to get one, so we both have them, and we always know where each other is because we have it on our phone which is good. My grandson who doesn't look at it has both of us on his phone too. When I go out in the morning and pick up the newspaper in front of the house, we make sure we have GreatCall. It makes you feel good that at least, you know somebody is there if there is a problem or (God forbid) in an emergency. You can just press the button.

My friend I was talking about is 95 years old and she's better than me. She flies back east and she goes to all the shows, and whenever I pick her up, I make sure she has a GreatCall. I said, "You're doing great. Now, you got to wear it all the time." So she really got it first. We're very happy with it. One time I accidentally pressed it, and somebody came to my husband. Whenever I want to order extra things, I call up and I get it pretty fast, so I have no complaints with their team. I like my security.

I wear it all the time and I keep it right next to me by my bed. In fact, when my husband was in the hospital, I made sure it was right next to me. I was just at the doctor's office with my husband today and one of the physician's assistants said, "What's that?" I said, "It's GreatCall. It's wonderful. My husband always knows where I am because it follows my route."

I tell everybody who notices it that I'm very happy with it. My husband and I explain it to people and I'd say if they're interested, just go to GreatCall.com. I've been doing that lately. I like the fact that it's not just something for your house. I tell them wherever Verizon is, anywhere in the country because somebody had something who does work in the house and what good it's gonna do if you're outside. My husband and I are very, very pleased with it.

After months of service, I used the device for the first time to call for emergency services for an accident that others had been involved in. The call was answered promptly and sounded clear, and they quickly dispatched police. In all conversations, from the one emergency call to the calls to get set up and ask questions, the personnel have been professional and respectful. I've gained peace of mind thanks to the indicator that shows that it has reception, and despite some topographical challenges, the service has been uninterrupted, even in parking garages underground and in elevators.

I also appreciate having all parts in one waterproof device, rather than wearing one and needing another piece of equipment nearby. While I was initially concerned that the button would be too easily pushed, the button is slightly indented and also requires enough pressure that no false alarms have occurred. I also engaged the fall detection service, which has not had any false alarms while I have been wearing it. Although I wish it could be more discreet, I would absolutely recommend it without hesitation.

She hasn't had any major problems with it but we did have a major catastrophe. When she was in her house her blood sugar went low and she passed out for somewhere between two to four hours. When she woke up, she pressed her medical alert and they came with the ambulance, my brother came over and took care of her because she wouldn't go to the hospital. That was the only trouble we had and it worked. She has had trouble when she's driving and passing out and that's where our major concern was. But now, she checks her blood sugar before she goes anywhere.

GreatCall Splash worked good for me. I'm a diabetic and I experience lows once in a while so when I saw their ad on the AARP magazine, I got their medical alert. I had a camp up in New Hampshire and I fell down the stairs either because of the beer I drank or my diabetes or both. My buddy who was with me pressed the alarm button. The police reacted to it and the ambulance came and took me away. I ended up at Wolfeboro Hospital. They said they couldn't help me out because of the injuries that I had. I ended up at Manchester Catholic Hospital and after about 4 days there, I just had enough of it and I checked out of the hospital. GreatCall Splash worked for me and I will recommend it to everyone.

I got the GreatCall Splash medical alert device because I had a couple of fainting spells which turned out to be due to excessive blood pressure medicine that was prescribed to me, but I've got that corrected now. I never had any concerns and was quite confident before because I haven't had any health issues until these fainting spells. But I'm sure as I age, this medical alert device will continue to give me peace of mind, so I carry it in my pocket, although I haven't used it yet. I'm still having trouble though in forgetting it sometimes. I haven't had any problems, so I'm a little okay with it, and it's been very good so far.

I set up my dad with the GreatCall Splash. Felt great knowing he could summon help or me instantly whenever, wherever he was. We were satisfied... Until the clip that holds the device to his clothing, belt or lanyard broke. Once the clip breaks you cannot attach his device to anything, including the lanyard - the lanyard ties around the clip and the clip goes in the device, secured by a flimsy plastic tab. Figuring since the clip breaks easily there should be a multitude of suppliers on eBay, Amazon or somewhere. NOTHING.

I called GreatCall to get a clip and here is where the dissatisfaction kicks in; They do not sell the replacement clip, instead they will sell me another device for a $40 upgrade or put me on a $3 monthly insurance plan and charge me $15 to use the monthly plan for a replacement device. So I can walk into any department store, RadioShack, and now 7-Eleven, and buy cords clips and chargers for my cell phone, but a.3 cent clip that is the only way for someone to carry the device breaks and the whole thing is rendered useless? Can my dad slide it in his pocket? Yes, but he is 83 so he was carrying it around his neck for if he fell and could not dig in his pockets.

You cannot even carry it around your neck because, as I mentioned, the lanyard attached to the clip and the clip is the only way to hold this device to your person. Needless to say my business is going elsewhere. While the device works, there are no practical accessories available for the elderly to safely use it or have it readily available in the event of an emergency, and because of this I do not recommend this device to anyone.

I’m 78 years old and I took a fall in the backyard and had a very hard time getting up because I fell between a fence and a retaining wall. I just couldn’t get up and nobody was around. I said it’s time to get one of these medical alert devices. About the time, I was ready to get one and start investigating, a friend of mine came in from Arizona. I was telling her about it and she said, “You need one of these” and she reached her bra and pulled it out. Then I just followed through it. I haven’t had GreatCall that long because I was very negligent. It sat for about two months and I said, “You’re paying for this thing. Get it set up.” I just make sure I’ve got it with me if I have an emergency, but somebody said to me, “What good does it do if you pass out?” And I said, “Well, hopefully, I’ll come to and be able to call them.” The couple of times I’ve accidentally dropped it and it hung up, somebody is called and I’ve had to apologize. I’ve already recommended GreatCall to friends.

I live alone and I do a lot of walking. I thought it would be safe for me to have a medical alert service. I had one before but it worked only in the house. It was on a free trial basis and I didn't care for it. I like GreatCall Splash because I can use it no matter where I am. I feel safer because I carry it with me all the time and in an emergency, I have it.

The person who sold it to me was very good and helpful. The only thing I'm disappointed in now is that I'm paying $24.95 a month and they have it on TV for $19.95 a month. They have a holiday special, and my neighbor has one. When I first got it, I thought I was going to pay $20 a month but it's $25. But other than that, it's okay. I carry it with me every day and I've been grateful that I didn't have to use it. I feel very comfortable with it and would recommend GreatCall to my friends.

My daughter-in-law got the GreatCall Splash medical alert device for my husband and me. She thought we needed it because we're both approaching 90 and the two of us live alone. I need a strap or hook on the end of it, but other than that, it's fine. We haven't yet had any problems or need to use it, thank goodness. But now, whenever my husband goes out to the barn by himself, I make sure he takes it with him. And whenever I've had to leave the house and my husband, who has to have a walker to walk, I make sure he's got it right where he can use it to get a hold of me. So it gives us some feeling of security.

I pushed the button to make sure it worked and to know that somebody would answer, and it worked fine. I have recommended it to many people once I got it. My only complaint is the device is too heavy to wear around my neck and so I have to have something with a pocket in order to put it in.

I had to have chiroplasty which is a cement they put in my vertebrae, but I still got problems with my hips. Our children live over about a mile and a half away, and they didn’t want me falling and getting hurt. That’s why I got GreatCall Splash. Although I had to give my credit card number which I seldom do in order to pay my monthly fee, it worked out very satisfactorily. When I tried to call to tell them I had just purchased the device, my call was answered right away. I feel safer and more confident with GreatCall Splash. I've got it all day with me. I can get out on my bicycle or I can go to the neighborhood grocery without feeling afraid because if I did fall, I would just call them.

I am very satisfied in all ways with GreatCall Splash. Their team members did exactly what I expected them to do and they were very professional from the start to finish. I fell one night and hit my ribs and the next day I feel like pretty much okay but the next night it was bothering me quite a bit and I got up and laid down on our lounge chair and sneeze. It was the first time I felt like my entire insides have been ripped out of me, and I could not move. I couldn't get up but I did have my GreatCall button on and so I pressed it and eventually they were able to get an EMT sent out. They checked me over and said, "Hey, there is nothing wrong with you. Get up and be a man."

It's a case that I knew that even if I had broken a rib or cracked a rib, all they would ever do was tape me but maybe there was something other than my rib that's wrong in there, but they said there wasn't. So I called a doctor the next day, he talked about it and he said, "Well if you want to, you can come in but I don't see any real need for it." Sure enough, a week or two later, I begin to feel better and now it's very rarely as the front, bottom and all. There were times that I would keep the device around when I am alone but I'm not wearing it as much since I mostly spend my time with my fiance. I have the GreatCall app in my iPhone. There is a good chance that my wife will be carrying it or my fiance when she is out. I'd recommend them.

Now, with this GreatCall, if everything goes out I still have it and that is a big thing with me. I am an 89-year old great grandmother on a wheelchair and I live alone. I have this confidence having a medical alert device here when I need it. I put it in this thing to keep the battery up, and they said I should do it when I go to bed but sometimes I sleep a little later and I was wondering if it would do it harm to leave it on there.

We checked with other medical alert companies and one had a landline while another had a two-year contract. I got the GreatCall Splash without having a landline and the price is more than reasonable. I can go for my walk, sit and watch TV, go to bed, take a shower and I don't have to worry if I fall and get hurt because I know help is nearby. I've used it three times and the maximum time for help to arrive was 10 minutes. I live right in town and the first two times I used it, it was around 8 minutes when the fire department and ambulance came at the same time.

The device is very simple and I love it. I've recommended it to my sister and niece and both of them got it. My sister had the Life Alert and had a two-year contract for $69 a month. When I gave her my old GreatCall Splash when I got my new one, she switched to Splash.

September last year, I was using the original 5Star. I was coming in from the outdoors where it was very shiny and sunny. I was wearing dark glasses and carrying a heavy briefcase and a heavy pocketbook. So I raced up the driveway and I dashed inside and I wanted to put the briefcase in the library. So I was running through the kitchen top speed, still had my glasses on. But I forgot there was a carton of canned cat food, so I tripped, fell and broke my arm. I sat there and pulled out and pushed the button of my 5Star. And the guy was there immediately - he called the ambulance and stayed with me until the ambulance was coming.

Until the ambulance crew got there and loaded me up, I was able to say, "thank you very much." So it literally saved my day because there was no way I was going to get up and get to a phone. I'm very appreciative of continuing the GPS, and I like the fact that it'll catch me if I ever fall again. I'm very happy with it. The only way to transfer photos is to send them to someone who has a "smartphone" and then have them download to a computer. GreatCall charges a 25 cent fee for each photo sent which may not seem like much but it does add up when you happen to be on a fixed income just barely keeping your head above water.

I live alone and I had a fall at home. I was blessed that I wasn't hurt. I had already been considering a device for a year and a half and just kept procrastinating. In fact I've checked into several but they had too many requirements. So after that fall, I remembered the commercial, I went online and started researching about GreatCall and then called them the next morning. I have hooked the medical alert necklace on a chain to my diabetic necklace and I wear them under my clothes. As I was busy vacuuming up my car, I lay it on the feet to vacuum out a section and I must have pressed the button and then I heard Ring! Ring! and I said, "Somebody must have left their cellphone in my car."

I bent further down and then I heard it on me and I said, "Oh my God, I'm ringing." So I lifted my shirt up and I pressed the little button and said hello very meekly because I'm embarrassed. I explained to him that I was still vacuuming up my car and said it was by accident so we hung up and I moved it to the outside of my clothing so I could keep an eye on it after that. About 10 minutes later it rang again. I know I didn't press that button again but they were just calling back to double check on me and make sure that I was okay because when I pressed it the first time, I pressed it long enough that it actually called 911. I really appreciated that.

I'm glad it wasn't a real call but then it just reassured me even more that it really works. I felt confident this past Thursday night when I had to leave my house at 10 PM and drive to Jackson, Mississippi which is two and a half hours away for an emergency situation and I felt confident that I could go. I didn't feel alone because I had that little box with me. I'm 60 and I do have health issues so having this with me has made a really big difference in my life. I feel totally much more confident with it on.

I have several other people thinking about it and even told them how it has the little system that when you use the service it text your contacts right away. It'll let them know that you did press the button. And then if something serious really occurs, they'll call them. I like that idea. My children who lived down south in Mississippi feel really good about it. The cost is just phenomenal.

To have that security and that feeling of confidence for what I pay a month, it's no problem. I got the very basic service but as soon as I can really afford it I'll probably upgrade. My daughter wants me to upgrade to it now, I said as soon as I get my increase of pay for my annual thing then I'll go ahead and initiate that extra service but in the meantime, this makes me feel pretty good here. GreatCall is great and it goes right with the name of the company. GreatCall are great people.

I bought a medical alert device since I was concerned about living alone, falling ill, falling down, and getting something beyond what one cannot do to call for help. The first one I got was Life Alert which was the first that came out years ago. Then I switched to GreatCall because with Life Alert you had to be within the range of the unit, whereas with GreatCall you don’t have to be by that unit in your home to contact one for help. You could be at home or in Hawaii and you can call for help. It would be nice though if GreatCall came out with a longer running type battery that would last for 5-10 days rather than just 1-2 days.

The GreatCall team has been fine. I call every now and then to test the unit. In fact I have to speak to somebody in their technical department because I tried to test the unit about a month ago and they said that it is not sending audio enough from my end. Being a 71 year old guy I really appreciate all that the company offers as far as making me feel secure. It is like having somebody with me.
