I'm getting old and living alone. I don't walk as well as I used to and if I fall I cannot get up on my knees because I have metal knees. I can't get myself up so I need to be able to call somebody to help me stand. That's the reason I needed GreatCall Splash Medical Alert device. I've had a couple of operations and I've got another one scheduled. So I just feel I need something in case something goes out of control. Otherwise, I'm pretty independent. Their team were wonderful. I've used them twice. In fact, one time I guess the button was accidentally pressed, and I didn't hear it because I was at a luncheon. They called my daughter and son who both live out of town, out of state and everybody was worried about me. So they're really on the ball. The last time when I fell they got the rescue squad to come and help me up and stayed with me until the rescue squad got here.
The device doesn't bother me. The only thing is where to put it. Right now it's on a chain around my neck and then it's clipped to my bra because I don't have pockets today. If I have a pocket deep enough I'll carry it in the pocket then. There's no hole for a chain to go through so the chain is just under the clip and sometimes if it's just hanging loose it'll fall off. Other than that I have no problem with it. Also, I've recommended it. A couple of my friends have gotten one because I had one and just like I got one because a close friend got one for herself. So it's been very nice. We've passed on the information. I think they're very good. Their service certainly seems good and they're very reasonable in their price.

I carry Splash with me when I leave the house all the time and I've got it with me when I go to bed at night, so I feel very comfortable that I can get a hold of somebody if I need to quickly. I have epilepsy, so I have seizures. I've also had trouble with vertigo lately, so I feel very safe having it beside me. It's great and I'd recommend GreatCall Splash.

I'm alone on and off and I don't want to fall. My family doesn't want me to fall while I'm alone so I got Splash and so far, so good. The device is always with me. I use a walker on and off so it's always hanging on my walker if it's not around my neck. I know it's there and all I have to do is push a button. I would recommend them to a friend.

GreatCall Splash is the first and only medical alert device I ever used. I initially needed it because I used to be going back and forth to Florida. I’ve had to stop doing that because of my health. But my kids got to the point where they didn’t want me alone in the car with nothing to back me up. Then I fell and I decided I better have some help if I needed it. After looking at many of the medical alert companies, GreatCall Splash was the best fit because I travel a lot and its GPS can follow me in any place. Many of my friends have theirs that are tied into a police department or a local hospital, and they’re tied into the local area and can’t travel at all.
I feel very confident that I have it. Three months ago, I was on the floor and had my button around my neck and couldn’t get up. I pushed the button and within ten minutes, there were people here to lift me up. However, it could be a lot more comfortable. It could have some type of a chain or ribbon that I could put over my head without any problems. I’ve got it on a piece of leather right now and I have one other friend who carries hers around in her pocket. But it works wonderful, so I would recommend it to anybody. In fact, I've recommended it many times.

My daughter bought me a medical alert as I had been sick. My kids all live in Michigan, I live in Florida and she felt that I should have it just so that if I needed it I would have it. I had another medical alert device before and I washed it in the washer. As it turned out it was for the better. She bought me another one, the Greatcall, that can be worn in the shower, which is really where I need it. The one time my stool collapsed in there and the gizmo wasn't there except the Lord and my God was close to me, I don't know how I got out of there. I forget to use it but I got it in my pocket right now and I haven't had a problem.
Every so often I want to make sure so I've worn it in the shower and called them to make sure. There was one night that something happened and instead of using the phone, I punched my button and an ambulance was sent so it worked. My neighbor now has a medical alert because of me but she got a different one. We're trying to talk her out of getting rid of hers because hers is only good within 200 feet of the house. I would definitely recommend GreatCall Splash. No matter where I am it's with me.

My kids ganged up on me and said I needed a medical alert device. My son helped me get the GreatCall activated and I knew the first month was free so I sent in my activation fee and the next month in one check. The second check was due a week ago which has already been sent in so I don't have any problem in that department. Since using it, I feel more secure having something on my body all the time. If I get out in the yard and fall, I can just press the button and get the help that I need. In the morning I put it in my pocket and when I'm going outside and to the store, I hang it on my neck. I'm glad I have it.

This company does not answer its emails from customers and when called, requires that you wait more than 12 minutes on hold. There was a problem when I moved with their billing. I let them know of my new address by email as soon as I could. The credit card company did not honor their billing because of the move and their incorrect address for me which should have been updated. I was informed that I did not follow their company protocol and would be charged and sent to collections for payment. I explained what I had done in sending a regular mail to the company and declining to be served annealing by them along with the payment for that first month. The check was cashed! But no changes were made and they are continuing to bill me. This is poor customer service at best!

GreatCall Splash was cheaper than the other medical alert device I used so I decided to switch. I live alone that’s why I need it. I have it with me all the time and I got it around my neck. My sister told me she had purchased a medical alert device, and what she liked about it was that it was not only security at home but when she was in the car, traveling so I also got mine. I walk about three miles everyday with some friends in an area where our cell phones don't reach. We were walking, and when we got to the top, I called GreatCall Splash just to see if they could pick me up there. We were so impressed they could tell me exactly where I am that my friend immediately bought her own. Also, a few weeks ago, I could not find my device. Someone said "they have GPS, why don't you call them and ask them where it is?" I did call, and the woman I talked to was so patient with me and kept working with me until they were able to locate they device. I was impressed. I've recommended it to two friends already that I know have bought them, and I would continue to recommend it. Overall, GreatCall Splash is great.

We had the GreatCall alert device about three days when my husband Jack was T-boned in an intersection. He pushed the button and in a matter of seconds, somebody said "Jack, is there something we can do to help you?" It was fast. The paramedics and the police were there in no time at all. It was worthwhile having that. The second call was made by my daughter when I fell in the house. The response was very good but not as fast as the first one. My view of it is very positive and it's been great.

I work with the elderly so I had heard about Jitterbug for years - but there were some complaints about slow service. When it was time to get one for my mother, I was nervous. BUT - customer service has been great from start to finish. YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT ON THE PHONE. I usually find this annoying but the recording reminds me that the customer service reps are giving the same time and consideration that I would want. Normally it's like "yeah right" but I remind myself that it is not always the daughter who is calling this number. It can be someone like my mother - who doesn't hear well, doesn't see well (which is why she needs the Jitterbug, duh) and generally can get easily confused by details.
For example when it was time to transfer her phone number from AT&T, it required two phone calls - one for them to tell me what we needed to verify FOR AT&T that it was really her who wanted to change the account. So I had to gather account number, etc. There have been a few calls since then for various questions and the reps are polite, friendly (they don't sound like robots and if you ask them how the weather is, they actually are happy to have a short conversation with you about weather.) This tells me they understand their customers want personal service and for that, waiting on hold for a bit longer is just fine by me.

The end of May in 2015, I had a TIA, which is a pre-stroke situation. Since I am alone a big part of the day, I thought GreatCall Splash was the perfect thing for me. I chose this one based on the fact that it's supported by AARP and other reliable organizations, so that made it a comfort for me. It's just the knowledge that I have it at my fingertips should something happen, because I've been through it once, makes me feel more confident. I can stop whatever I'm doing and think, "Do I need help or am I okay?" Also, I like the size of it because it's a comfortable size.
When I go out, I just put it in my pocket. When I'm around the house, I usually have it around my neck. One time, I did push the button in error one day, and the man at the end of the line was very polite and didn't say "Crazy old lady." He just said, "Is it an emergency?" so I said, "No, it's a mistake." Overall, I would definitely recommend GreatCall Splash.

So far, so good. I haven't had a need to use GreatCall but it’s a good thing to have. You could need a medical alert any time. You could be going to the doctor or the park and as long as they can locate you and help you no matter where you are, that’s the greatest thing. I had different devices before which were always hooked into security. It doesn’t always help if it's in the house, unless you’re home-bound constantly. No one wants to sit home just for an alarm to work.

I had a very short discussion which I just said 'Send the paramedics. Never mind all these stuff.' They ask a lot of questions and I was outside lying on the parking. By the time my neighbors all got out there, the paramedics came but also came a great big fire truck. We're not doing any halfway measures here but it worked out very well. I have 3 kids that kept saying "Dad, you can't stay by yourself, you need something," so I purchased a medical alert device. When MedicAlert popped up with $87 a month, I went through two or three different companies which were all at $50 a month. I got GreatCall Splash and I was told it was going to cost me $25 a month and it would work everywhere I'm at so I decided it is the one that I would use. GreatCall Splash was not afraid to tell me how much it costs. MedicAlert and all the rest were. They put big ads on TV and you had to almost buy it before they would tell you how much it was going to cost.
I have used the device one time and it was fantastic. When I pushed the button, someone from GreatCall Splash was there. She stayed with me until the ambulance got here. People ask me what it is, why am I wearing it away from home because they're thinking of all the rest of the different buttons that you get only works in the house so I tell them about it. I even told the girl at Walmart in Canton, Ohio, "You're selling them, you should know what they do other than they're on the shelf." I told her about it and she said, "Oh my gosh, you're kidding. I didn't know." I said, "You really got a good thing there. You need to let people know that it's something that they need."
I recommend them to everybody. My son fell off a fire truck, broke his neck, and now he's under pain management. I told him, "Yeah, your wife's here but she's out working. You go out and don't know whether you're going to make it home or not. Pain may get you and you're stuck someplace." He thought it's a good idea but hasn't done anything about it yet.
I also have a sister-in-law who is by herself in Alabama. She said she doesn't have the money to buy it right now. I was going to buy it for her but she said, "I can afford the 20 something dollars a month," but she said she doesn't need it because she's not traveling. She could go with the $14.99 right around home because she doesn't drive. She doesn't need the coverage that I have. I may still go ahead and buy her one. I didn't realize how easy it was that I could just go into Walmart, buy one and give it to her. Or I may get her son get her one. She'll only need call in to activate.

I've had a similar device to GreatCall Splash with different companies for ten years. There was a time I had an alarm system for the house and an alert button, but I quit the that alarm and went to GreatCall Splash when the price went up so much. I also like the idea that it goes with me and doesn't just stay in the house. Also, I live alone since my husband passed away and have fallen and broken my hips five years ago. When I first got my device, I did a test with their reps. So far, it's been good and I haven't had to use it. But last Friday, my grandson pushed the button and it came on. I told them what happened. I'm very happy because I had a very quick response from them.

I'm glad I've got my GreatCall Splash medical alert device and I like the way it works. I’m a diabetic since 2007, and an independent person - I just recently lost my husband, and I also take care of my 89-year-old mother who has Alzheimer's. That’s the reason my son wanted me to get it for - when I needed to go away from the house, I would have an alert device in case something came up like my sugar. I could mash a button and get a hold of somebody rather than trying to dial the telephone. And, what we really liked about it was the Link - I know that I've got it, in case I need it.

I'm 79 and I live by myself, and since I'm very mobile my son and his wife pushed me to get a medical alert device. At first, I went for the Life Alert that I can get through Medicare and it was $35 a month. It was good for 300 feet from the speaker, and that was as far as the mailbox and back of my house. After a few months of having it, I ran into somebody who told about GreatCall. I looked into it, liked it and ordered it. I had no problems when I ordered it. Their rep was helpful and the order process was over in about 10 minutes.
I received the device in a little over a week. I pay $25 a month and it was a little more costly upfront. However, I like it because it goes with me wherever I go. It's a nice looking little piece of equipment, and has a 911 feature, so I don't have to worry when I'm out somewhere and something happens. My kids also tried downloading the app where they could see where I was all the time but it became too much of a hassle. They’re also sure that if anything was wrong, I’d call them. So, I keep the device with me most of the time and I feel very confident in it. However, I don't like the lanyard because it's too long for me. So, I don't wear that. Instead, I hook the device to my purse. And overall, I had a good experience with GreatCall.

So far, I haven't had to use my GreatCall but I feel very confident and secure. I got a lanyard, a wristband and a belt clip. One time, I accidentally hit the call button and their reps immediately answered me.

I'm very pleased with GreatCall Splash. I like that it has GPS so that people will know where I am. I needed it because I'm disabled and have no feeling in my one leg which often times leads to falls. I also live alone. My service dog, as well trained as she is, doesn’t dial 911. Since having it, I feel much more confident especially since I have a stalker and the Splash unit allows me to have instantaneous, undelayed intervention that people can hear what’s transpiring.
The people from GreatCall were also helpful and knowledgeable. I did have to call in one time because I was having some pretty severe pain and tenderness on my right side and I was concerned it might be my appendix. The young man asked me some questions. Said to me, "you ought to go to the hospital." I was driving and I pulled off the road so they would know where I was. He said to me, “We’ll send an ambulance out for you.” And I said, “No, I’m driving so I’ll drive myself over to the hospital.” They had me on the line with someone who could confirm that I had declined medical assistance at that particular site. I was only a few miles from the hospital so I just went over myself.
My biggest problem with this thing is it reminds me of a Hotel Five bar of soap. I’m a very slight person and I have Fibromyalgia, so I have a lot of nerve damage. I wanted to wear it around my waist because the lanyard would fit around my waist but they said "No. Wear it around your neck." Well that very quickly gives me a headache so I wind up wearing it around my neck and then hanging the clip from the front of my shirt so that it keeps that weight kind of up off my neck. I wish there was a second option for the fall detection that I could wear it on my wrist or still keep it clipped. But other than that, the design is fine. It’s very simple. I had a massive stroke in ’98 so even as debilitated as I was then, I could have still pushed that button. As long as I can push the button, even breathing ought to get me points for something. I have set up my account so that they know I put a lockbox with keys into the house.
The only other thing I’m a little baffled with with these units - and I put in on the charger all night, every night, right next to my bed so I can still have access to it yet some days it comes up and says the battery’s good or it’s not great and not fully charged. It’s really been the only really discrepancy I’ve found with it that makes me a little leery especially when I need to go to Vegas and it's a 150-mile trip.

I ordered GreatCall and got it, but they couldn't locate me on the medical. After talking back and forth with their people several times, they admitted that part of it didn’t work yet with the particular phone that I bought. So I returned it. But I decided that I was better off with something that I could push right away rather than wait until the cell phone comes on if I’m passing out - I almost passed out on the street while driving one day. That’s the reason I got GreatCall Splash. My only concern was if they would be able to locate me if I was somewhere out by myself. So when I first got the device, I called and told the rep that I wanted to test the device. I went to a place close by, tested it and she told me where I was located.
I'm satisfied that it's working. So far, I haven't had to use the device. I live in a retirement community that has an emergency service. We have a button that we push if we have an emergency so I don’t use the GreatCall Splash except when I leave the premises. I put it in my purse - I have it in the garage ready to go whenever I leave.

I bought the jitterbug cell phone and splash medical alert from my local Rite Aid store. I called GreatCall and activated and assured of cellular service. After just a few days, I cancelled the service because of poor service. I returned equipment to Rite Aid and received a credit on my card. But I am not getting a service credit from Great Call. I have talked to various reps and even a supervisor about this problem. They claim they are waiting on verification of equipment return so they can charge me a restocking fee and adjust my credit. They immediately debited my account when the units were set up but they are unable to credit it. I did not purchase the phone and Splash alert from them. I returned it to Rite Aid, so there is no way they will get the verification or have to restock anything!!!
I just want immediate credit so I have the money in my account to purchase another medical alert system that will work! I don't want to wait. My mother is 102 and she needs to have a dependable source of communication and a dependable alert system. The reps were not at all helpful with appropriate action. I should receive $117.01 credit because of failure of this system that the technical support team verified was poor or no service area. (Even though they claim I am in a service area). I feel that GreatCall is stalling and this is a disservice to ANY senior citizen especially on a fixed income.
All of their advertisements are misleading. One rep could not even give me the correct spelling of the CEO. I would love to share my situation with him because I am sure I am not the only one that the his company is creating a problem that is difficult to deal with at any age or at any financial level. I hope that if they are the leading company they claim to be, this matter will be resolved immediately!

I have to go up a little hill to get the pine cones and Montana has an awful lot of them this year. So my daughter bought the GreatCall Splash for me. I put it on every morning and I'm getting along fine with it. I have a little red string around it and I put it underneath my shirt. I wear cotton shirts so it's not out there where everybody can see it all the time. And my daughter has it connected to her phone so she knows when I'm outside and where I am at. Unlike with other medical alert device, GreatCall Splash doesn't require to install anything - it's wireless and very convenient. And I'm so grateful that I have it. I can access it whenever there is an emergency. For instance, the very first time that I had my emergency I was impressed that when I pressed the button the first time, I got a response. In less than 10 minutes, I had an ambulance in my apartment complex. By the time I turned around, they were at my door to look at me and to take me right away to the hospital.
So ever since then, I carry it everywhere that I go - in the bathroom and even when I'm cooking. I'm also not afraid to be by myself because I know that help is just around the corner. In addition, their representatives were excellent, very polite and good listeners. I don't have to keep repeating things because they can catch it the very first time that I say it. Overall, I was very impressed with GreatCall and I told a lot of people about it.

Once you buy the phone, you'll find out that if you want the medical alert working, you'll have to go with the $39.99 plan as a minimum. When you get the bill, the final amount will be close to $55.00! On my phone, the medical alert stopped working and I didn't find out about it until 2 weeks went by. They even tried to bill me for this time period.
Then, the phone stopped receiving text messages. At this same time, my landlord was texting all his tenants, telling them to call an emergency locksmith immediately. (His son had gotten badly addicted to meth and was burglarizing the apartments with a cohort. They had the keys to all the apartments.) Thanks to Great Call, I could've lost all my valuables, including my car. Worse still, I could've been the victim of a home-invasion style robbery. Thanks, Great Call!

I love the GreatCall 5 Star Service, but I've had SEVERAL problems with the belt clip that is no longer called a belt clip because of the problems. I've broken several of them and nearly lost my device twice. I believe I've gone through about 5 of the clips. Some were free of charge and some I've had to pay for at $10.00 a piece. Two were broken while attached to my belt before a warning was attached saying not to use them as a belt clip. The second time the device itself broke where it attaches to the clip and I had the device itself replaced. One clip was broken while clipping it on my T shirt collar and one was broken while wearing it on my wrist band. I'm 75 years old, so I don't believe I'm physically abusing them. PLEASE design a stronger metal clip and device part it clips to. Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.
David, We have two clips, one is a belt/accessory clip and the one that says "not to be used as a belt clip" is specifically for use with the wristband. We hope that this helps to clear up your concern.

I have been receiving pictures that I took with my phone that are being sent to my phone. I have never texted or shared pictures with anyone. I have called them several times about this problem. For some reason I receive 10 free text per month. Last month there were 14 used and I was charged forty cents, which they credited back to my account. This month (I have 12 days left). It shows I have used 11. Each time I've called have told them to block all text to and from our phones, (BOY THAT WORKED WELL). I have most likely spent over two hours on the phone, getting through to someone to talk to, explaining my problem, waiting for them to check it out, and trying to resolve it. Yesterday after spending close to an hour, I elected to have a tech call me back. They said one would call me in 24 to 48 hours. The last time I was told this it took over a week to receive their call. Great Call my **!!!

I do not recommend this company. I purchased a phone for my father. The sales staff was very convincing. Once my father received the phone (he recently lost most of his vision) he didn't understand how to use it. Customer service never picked up and when they did, their system was not working and the operators could not hear me. I tried to send an email to the one email address on their site pr@greatcall.com and it bounced back.
Vanessa, Please use the "Contact Us" feature on the website and select "Customer Service" from the drop down menu, the PR email that you have referenced is clearly marked for "Press Inquiries" and the individuals that would receive this would not have the ability to access your customer account. You can also call us at 1-800-733-6632, we are available everyday between 4am and 11pm pacific time. We look forward to assisting you.
Update: Vanessa, We have located your account and have determined that you were able to connect to a representative over the phone. We also show that a Customer Service supervisor has graciously offered to call and assist your father with his phone. We know that not a lot of companies would offer to do this and hope that we can assist him with getting acclimated to his first smart phone.

I like having my Splash. It just gives me more security knowing in case something happens I'll get a quick response. I have a habit of falling for one thing. I've got a walker now, but I still have issues about which causes my falling seizures. I know the Splash doesn't cost much money but words alone can't explain because my friend also has the same kind. It's waterproof as well. You can go outdoors when it's sunny. It won't get banged against something because I don't even know if it could stand the impact. I hope it doesn't have to go through that test to find out though. Overall, I would highly recommend it. This was a good investment.

I'm happy to say I haven't had to use my Splash other than the test call when I first got it. I'm elderly, I live alone and I have some medical problems. There are three major suppliers of this kind of a device, and I didn't like being tied to a contract within a year. I like that it's very small and I can wear it on my wrist or around my neck. It has a GPS system so I'm not tied to the phone as a base to switch emergency calls. When I first set it up and activated it, I had to make a test call and they immediately asked if everything was all right. They said, "I see that you're in your home." They again had me repeat at the end that I was fine, that it was a test call. I go out and I keep it on the charger at night right next to the bed because I can reach 9-1-1. It’s good for emergency if you think somebody’s breaking in the house and things like that. I spoke to one of my neighbor’s and she also just got a Splash.

That's why my daughter picked GreatCall Splash for me. I have one complaint about it though. It does not hang right on you without the button getting pushed all the time. Every time I lean up against the sink or up against the washer or dryer, the button gets pushed. I've had to make some new things to fasten onto. But it gives me more confidence in getting a hold of somebody if needed.

One winter, I broke my ankle and I had nothing on me to call for help. That was when I decided to have a medical alert device. Originally, I went with Lifeline but it is very restrictive - you can only go a hundred yards around your home. I had Greatcall Splash because I needed a device that would allow me more independence, comfort, and still feel safe. It is pretty convenient - I have the charger by my bed and then when I get up, I put the device on. I like that my children can find me if I am in trouble. I have not used it yet, thank God. But, I love it and I recommend it to everybody, especially to older people.

GreatCall is a heck of a lot nicer than ADT which I was with for years. The fact that I can talk to somebody has been great, and it's small enough to sit in the pocket. It doesn’t take up that much room. I’m charging it all night long when I need to, I put it in my pocket, and off I go. I always have somebody with me. I’m very, very pleased with it so I can’t say enough about it.
I know a couple of people who have turned around and bought them too. I'm a senior citizen living alone. I had fallen and broke my hip. I was out of the perimeter and for me to know whether or not they've got my signal, I got my neighbor to come over and I gave her the button and I said, "Push the button and an ID key will come on.” I asked them if they got my signal and they said yes. The thing that sold me on it really is the fact that I have seen John Walsh over the years and what he’s gone through with his son’s experience. Who else could you trust any better than John Walsh? So that’s why I went over to GreatCall.
I had a recent interaction from someone at GreatCall who made a little mistake. I called because I have a 24-hour, seven days a week for a doctor or a nurse, and that's what I called to get and the guy didn't understand and he sent the ambulance. But that's okay. The firemen were really all great and they took me out to the emergency room anyway, so it worked out all right. But other than that, I like that GreatCall Splash just gives me the ease of living; knowing that I've got somebody at my fingertips. I think they're local. This last one, I had a rash. I still do. I'm still in bed with it. They notified my son and my daughter at the same time. That helps, too, so I don’t have to have the cost of flying. This one calls, and that one calls, so that was that. My kids are having a ball with the free apps too. I'm just very happy with it. It's fantastic.

I constantly have terrible vertigo; in fact, I just had a very lengthy vertigo test this morning and my doctors are trying to get to the bottom of it. So because I've had several falls or near-falls, my husband felt that it would be a good idea that I had something that in case I was out and fell, I could call for help. Plus I have other multiple health issues that make it a little harder for me to get around than a normal person. My husband is very caring and he makes sure that I wear my GreatCall necklace when I'm out and about. I do wear it since I take my bath in the morning and I don't take it off until I put my pajamas on at night.
If I'm ever out driving or out in the yard, I can call for help if I need to. It makes me feel more secure. I just fit it around my neck and don't think about it. It doesn't bother me. We have recommended GreatCall Splash to other people who may be living alone. My husband has an aunt who's going to be 92 in June. Of course, he recommended it to her because she still lives alone. I'm 88 and I live alone, so I have been considering for a long time that I probably should have a medical alert device, and I have people who have been nagging me about why I haven't done something about it. So I researched all of them and I decided that this was best for me because it covers a large area if I went out with it. I knew I could take it with me wherever I went.
Before using GreatCall Splash, I haven't used another medical alert device. I have friends who have all different kinds. But most of them just cover them in their home and immediately near their home. But I go a distance away from home. And since I don't drive anymore, I walk to the store, bank or post office, which is about three and a half blocks from here. So I'm out there walking. I'm not within the house area, that's why I decided that this one was better for me because it has a GPS and I could push that button wherever I happen to be.
I carry it with me and I don't wear it around my neck because it's a little too heavy and bulky, so I usually have it with me within reach. I was told that they have something that could be worn like a bracelet but I didn't check into that yet. I have recommended it to my son and he got it. And then just recently, I recommended it to my friend who lives in Ohio and he got it. I told him to be sure to tell the company that I recommended it because I understand I get a reward for it. Tried it again, same thing. I started panicking again and said to the customer service man on the line from Great Call, “what do I do, what do I do”. He disconnected the phone call. I called the company, told them, “I want to return this product”. I returned it.
It has been in their warehouse for 5 days now. They have not even processed it yet. It takes 21 days from the time it is processed for your payment to go back to your card. I cannot even get another one from a good company until I get my refund back from them because I am on a fixed income. I have called every day to try to speed up the process but with no luck. I am going to put in a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. It could sit in their warehouse forever. Every time I call, I am on hold for at least 10 min. They do not even have a real address. It's a PO box. Not too sure about this company.
Ms. Calcagno, We understand your frustration and are sorry to see that you elected to cancel before we could ship you a replacement device. Your refund will be processed soon.

The reason we got Splash was because my husband was falling down and sometimes he couldn't get up. He's got beginning dementia and I feel more secure when he has the alarm when I'm not in the room. He hasn't had to use it since he got it. The only time he did, it was accidental. He pushed his chest against the table and set it up and the guy from GreatCall Splash came right on the line. He does have weariness with the device. He hates the thing that came with the device, so we tried to come up with a better chain since it is bulky. But it was the only thing that was strong enough because everything else we tried broke. But other than, I had and would recommend it.

One time, I called them and mine wasn't working. The woman said, "I can’t hear anything so I'm hanging up." They didn't check up to see if I really needed help and just let it go. But with GreatCall, I made a missed call once because I pushed the button accidentally, and the team was very courteous and knowledgeable. I lost it one time and I called the number. They located it for me so I could get it back. It fell out of my pocket when I was in somebody else's car. It was in between the seat and the console and the gentleman that the car belonged to could hear it beeping but it took him a while to find it. I have never really had to use it otherwise but it's comforting to know that I've got it. It's very handy for older people or people with medical conditions.

My balance is poor and I fall a lot. I'm fused from T11 to S2 so I only bend at my hips and I have chronic pain and severe arthritis. This is why I really need a medical alert device. I have used another one before getting Great Call Splash. I hooked to the phone and I could hear it from ground level but if I was outside, no one could hear it or down in the basement so it really was not that useful. It actually was also more than what I was paying for so with all those things, the switch to Splash was kind of a no-brainer.
With them, I feel like I can be more independent. I can go out by myself and know that my family doesn't have to worry about me. The only problem I have with it is I have not been able to do much online because my hands don't work. Also, the thing that held the device around my neck or clip on the belt broke and I haven't been able to find anyone to call to have that replaced. Other than that, everything has been good. Plus, I can have it with me when I go out. I'm very independent now. However, one time, I wanted to add someone to my call list. I tried to get a hold of them but wasn't able to and they want me to go online which I don't want to do - I want to talk to someone. But they have been friendly and helpful. Another thing I like about it is that they have a thing where I can wear it on a belt. Then when I saw GreatCall, I went with it because I can go take it with me when I travel. I called once to see how it works and the lady there walked me through on what to do. I carry it around my neck and it's there. Sometimes the red light was showing and flashing instead of the green one and this happened a couple of times. I called their office and I was in the customer service and he told me what to do to get it working properly again. I've had fine service so far so I can't complain. Originally I have a few things that bothered me when I was getting it set up. Luckily I haven't had an emergency. I'm assuming that it's all in place in case I need it. Periodically I do check to see that we're connected, so to speak, in case of emergency.
