The grandkids set up Lively Mobile for my husband as a precaution. This way, if I were outside mowing the lawn and my husband were inside and fell or slid down, he would have it around his neck and he would be able to get help. Besides, I won't be able to pick him up. So far, my husband has used it five times. One time, he was just hovering around but then he went out too far. He got stuck and he had to call for help too. However, they have to ask him whether he's hurt or bleeding and he gets irritated at that. He knows that he fell but he's not hurt, but they don't know that. We just explain to him that he has to explain the situation a little bit so they know whether to send an ambulance or a person.
Lively Mobile has been around a long time and I've heard other people have used them, enjoyed them and felt secure having that right there at their fingertips. I appreciate Lively Mobile. He feels more secure now and I'm glad he has it because I can't stay in the house. I have to do the outside work too so it's a security blanket. Now, I have as much freedom as he does.

I've had back surgery and massive heart attacks. I also have problems with my bladder and kidney infections so it's causing me to be unsteady on my feet. I didn't want a land phone in the house and my previous provider mailed me an alert system but they got "Place" on the address instead of "Street" so the package went back to FedEx. I called my provider and told them they can't charge me for it as I didn't have it. So they checked it out and found out that it was with FedEx. They told me it would be delivered the next day. Their rep also told me she'll send me one overnight. FedEx delivered the one they had that same day, so I had two. I boxed one up but they kept charging me two charges every month and I kept calling every month. They kept saying they'd take care of it and it won't happen again but it just kept happening. So finally, I said, "The hell with it. I'm cancelling it."
I switched to Lively and everything's cool with them. I've used it once and it came in handy. I kind of slid to the floor and couldn't get up. I called Lively and they sent out the fire department. Their response wasn't very long and the rep stayed on the phone with me all the time. I told her, "They're here. It's okay" and she said, "Well, I have another call. Are you sure of it?" I told her yes so then she hung up. It's been a very good experience with Lively. I hang the device around my neck and I use it when getting to rest and during the day. I haven't had any problems and everything was taken cared of the one time that I used it.

I have MS and I used to be in an independent facility. The management team used to live in a building in the facility but the company decided to move them out. Everyone was outraged because then there was nobody there so they got everyone the GreatCall device. I had three portable phones so they were always with me but they're not really conducive if you fall. I looked around and people were happy with GreatCall and I had it for about seven years but then I had to return that 'cause we didn't pay for it and now I'm back in with my kids. However, they are at work everyday and their kids are in school. Being alone in the house, it's easier that I have a medical alert device in case I fall 'cause I can't get up anymore by myself.
I haven't had to use the Lively Mobile device but I would put it on. When everyone's home, I don't wear it and I just keep it charging. The only thing about it that drives me crazy is the control. It's a good-sized piece and it has a button that's lit and it blinks. When I wear it, it drives me crazy 'cause I can see it. So, I turn it around, but I had company one night and they were joking and they said it was like a heartbeat. They were laughing 'cause they couldn't figure out why I was lighting up. It lets me know that it's working, but it's very annoying when I'm wearing it. It's not even a steady one. It just blinks.
I'm not sure if there's another way or maybe it doesn't bother anyone else. But before with the other company, you could test it once a week or once a month. You could push the button and someone in the other line would answer it. That way, you'd know it's working rather than have this light blinking. It also lights up when it's charging in my room so I have to cover it up because at night, all I see is the light.
Also, some companies have the necklace and a bracelet but Lively Mobile didn't have the wristband and it's just the necklace. Other than those, I like the idea that if I went somewhere even with the kids, we were separated and anything happened, I would have it. Not that I go too many places lately, but that's neat because before, you could only use it in your house.
Another thing I like that the other one didn't have is the fall detection. I'd pay for that feature and years ago a lot of them didn't have that. A lot of my friends at the independent facility did not get the fall detection, but then they walk and some of them still drive. I have legs that don't like me much, and I'm really slow and so cautious about how I walk. Usually if you fall, you are able to push a button but if something happens, you really get sick and you can't push the button, it will detect it. So that's one of its good features. And as long as I don't have to use it, I'm very pleased. I'd even recommend it to a friend.

I've tried putting the device on my belt and it fell off a couple of times. I thought that might not be a good place to put it. I just do regular body movement, like sitting up and getting down, and it moves that little plug about and it eases up. Now I wear it around my neck and it seems to stay pretty good. When I go to bed at night, I put it on my night stand next to me and charge it. It's always close by at least, if not on me. But then as soon as I get up, I put it on and I try not to forget. I just got used to the new habits.
It's nice to have and knowing that it can help out anywhere with the GPS feature is nice. In years past, and not too long ago, the medical alert devices didn't have a GPS feature and it was only good within the home, which didn't do a lot of good. I definitely recommend it. Just like having insurance, I hope I don't have to use it. But there might be a time, if I should fall or have unexpected chest pains, I'll have someone to help me.

I am in an independent senior retirement center. They used to provide us with a little thing that we could walk around with, and the staff doesn't come over the weekend, and so, that was a comfort to me. So, I got the Lively Mobile because I live alone and our staff isn't here over the weekend. It's comforting to know that if I need help, I can just reach down and punch my button. I wear slacks and so I pin the device right above my pocket. That way, I can carry it around. It's hooked up to a telephone.
However, one thing I'm unhappy about it was that it doesn't work in our garage, which I was most disappointed in because we don't have cellphone help down there. Several ladies have passed away there and they're just found accidentally or there's nobody's nearby. I also wish that I didn't have to pay so much. But then since having it, I felt independent and confident. It's a reputable company and sometimes I thought I didn't really need to pay extra money to be able to have a nurse diagnose.

I'm 85 years old, I live by myself, and my kids wanted me to have a medical alert so I got Lively Mobile. I have it in my pocket and it's easy to use and convenient. Then I accidentally set it off. I held it down and it was 911, so that was first off as a mistake. I kept on and told them I'm okay and I just hit the wrong thing. They still kept on and asked if I was sure, and I said yes. Since I've had it, the kids worry less. It's been good so far. I just got a phone call the other day about getting one for nothing and that they were going to mail to me. I said I already have one so I don't know what the heck that deal was.

When I got Lively Mobile, I was on the floor more than I was on my feet. I fell a lot but I'm not doing that anymore. I've had a medical alert device before but I didn't like it so I had it taken out. And then I also had another one which was too expensive. I've had Lively for quite some time and it's the best one I got. They're very good and if it happens that I touch it and it goes on, the reps call me and find out if I need them. And they have a nice way of saying it. They’re doing their job well. I know that if I would need them, they’d be here in a hurry. I'm satisfied with Lively Mobile and I’m going to keep them.

After my husband passed away, I got alarm system for the house. And they gave me one to wear around my neck. But it was only good when I was in the house. When I go out of the house, it's just laying on the dresser and I didn’t have anything. So, I wanted something else. I got a medical alert device that I put in my pocket from Lively Mobile. It gives me more confidence when I go out because I’m driving in the car by myself. I’m getting ready to go out of town next weekend and I know I could reach somebody if I needed their help. But I was wondering if I can have one that can be put around the neck, because when I was in therapy, it had slipped out of my pocket while I was lying there on the table.
I’ve only had one experience with it as far as it coming on. I was doing some therapy then, and it was in my pocket with a Kleenex and I am walking back after I got off the bicycle. I then heard someone call my name, but I just kept walking. But when I got on the table, my therapist told me that I was being called. That's the only time I've had to use this. I think it’s wonderful and I told people about it.

I have a heart condition, a pacemaker and bad knees so I bought a medical alert device. Lively Mobile was the cheapest one out there. I had Medical Alert before this which cost $40 a month. I like Lively Mobile better because it has GPS on it and you can take it in the car. You can't do that with Medical Alert unless you buy the extra guarantee. However, Medical Alert is thinner and it was easy to put on your neck. I know I should carry my medical alert device from Lively Mobile more, but I don't. It's a good device but they should have thought of something a little lighter to put around the neck since it's bulky and heavy to carry around. I just wear it next to me when I sleep and when I am in the shower, which to me is important, but after that, I take it off and put it back on charge. But Lively Mobile is fine overall and I have recommended it to a friend.

My children thought I needed a medical alert device because I live alone, I’m 82 and I use a walker. So my son bought Lively Mobile for me and he set it up. The only time I used it was when I bumped it accidentally. I don’t carry the device around my neck because I have nice jewelry, which I prefer to wear. But I usually take it with me and keep it close by and put it in my walker or in the pocket. I haven’t had a need to use it yet and hopefully, I won’t, but I know other people who have the Lively Mobile and they seem very happy with it.

A friend of mine has really bad diabetes and she’s had kidney transplant. She told me how wonderful Lively Mobile was for her, and how one day, she had left her purse somewhere on the ground and they came looking for her and she was on the pool. She was happy and recommended it. She gave me the phone number and even though it was on a Sunday, they took all our information and said they would express it to me and it would be here on Tuesday.
The medical alert device was for James. He's got the onset of Parkinson’s with mild dementia. He can hardly get out of bed and that's why he'd fallen three times and dislocated his shoulder and broken his ribs. The final thing was his lumbar. He slipped and fell off the edge of the bed. I’m lucky enough to have somebody, to help me bathe him and all that, so it’s not so terrible. But he's big and I need the medical alert device for when these people aren't here, like when they go to church. Then I'm here by myself and once, I had to have a neighbor help me and I don't wanna do that and impose.
I called Lively to set it up and as I was putting it together, I accidentally hit the button. They said, “Are you there? Do you need help?” And I told them no and that I was just putting it together. In this day and age, to get something done is impossible. But there were no recordings and they just picked up the phone. It was perfect. It is a tremendous relief to know that you can push a button and get help.
We have used it once and they were wonderful. I have some live-in help and they usually handle just about anything but he had fallen on the ground and I was afraid he had cracked something and was getting infected. The Lively team came in the middle of the night and went right to work. There were about six or more people that came in two groups, and they picked him up and checked his blood pressure, temperature and breathing. Then they said, "We better take him to the hospital." They were very professional and did a good job. One thing I also noticed was that they wore covers on their shoes, which I thought was very thoughtful.
The only thing is the string that goes around his neck fits into a magnet in the back but the magnet is not strong enough. They need to improve that but basically, he can wear it in his pocket. I’m just really pleased that I found something that I can rely on and that I know somebody’s gonna come when we're in trouble.

I live alone in an apartment building and I'm concerned that sometimes I am not really steady on my feet. After I took a fall, I needed something to say, “Help me.” I happened to see Lively with someone that I knew from the Black Lake area and she said she was really pleased with it. So, I thought that I’ll try it. It is the only one that I have gotten and that I’ve ever tried. The first thing that I did was try to shut off the light but it didn’t happen. I punched it really hard and I got 911 and the lady verified that it was working in my apartment. That was great.
I have it around my neck and I find it a little bit heavy. I would really like a lighter unit. I don’t wear it in the shower but I have it so that if I fall, I hope I can grab the cord really fast. Other than that, I’m satisfied with it. Once in a while, I forget to put it on the charger and I put it on for about an hour at night. I had it turned off once because I was with family. I'm also anxious to go to my daughter’s because she does not have good cell phone reception and I want to see if my Lively still works there.
But if I turned and slipped on a rug or stumbled towards something, my Lively device will be there for me. One time, I was going to take a shower and I must’ve dropped it on my bed. The lady called and asked if I'm okay and I was. I must have jarred it a little bit. Also, one night when I got out of somebody’s car that was a little bit higher, I didn’t realize that a rep was talking to me because it was noisy. When I got in my apartment, that's when I noticed. The device must be very sensitive and that’s good. Overall, I have been really pleased and I would recommend it.

I’m almost 81 and fall frequently. I fell once and dislocated my shoulder and had to have my shoulder replaced. I have some medical concerns that cause me to lose my balance. I tried three different medical alert devices and Lively Mobile is the only one that had reception where I am. The one that I had when I fell and dislocated my shoulder only covered right at the house and I was down at my church when I fell so I needed something that could give me full coverage everywhere. I live on two acres and we’ve got chickens in a barn. And with Lively Mobile, I know that if I would fall out there, I’d be able to reach somebody for help. It gives me the peace of mind knowing that I’ve got help if I need it.
And their team was awesome. I have accidentally bumped my unit and within seconds, I got a call to check on me and see if I had fallen. I have dizziness and I tend to fall sometimes. I had a few falls around the house and my doctor and my family decided I needed this medical alert device. So we went to a drugstore and bought the Lively Mobile there and came back home. The Lively Mobile is nice to have around my neck. It makes me feel good and I feel very secured especially when I go off on trips. If I have any problems, I still feel very secure. I also use the Lifeline, which I use around the house especially at night. I can hang it around my neck and sleep with it which I can't do with the Lively Mobile because it's too heavy.
Nevertheless, it’s a convenient feeling to know I’ve got Lively Mobile around my neck. Right now, I’m just getting ready to go out the door and going to church. I have to drive up 20 miles there and 20 miles back. It’s a good feeling to know that when I’m on the road, and if anything happens, I could push that button. So I do recommend it to friends all the time.

Also, I spent five months in the hospital, I’m on oxygen, and I have two leaky valves. I got the device at Walmart. However, the first one was terrible so they sent me another one. But this second one is back to dislodging.
When I put my Lively Mobile on, I think about it. It's a little bit heavy, though. I lost a lot of weight and now, I'm so thin. Also, the cord should be a little bit longer. I’m tall and if I have to reach for it, I've to reach quite a ways. I also wish they’d let me know if the device works or not. I called their customer service once about my issues, but they never got back to me. Also, when I spoke with them, I could barely hear them because the volume on the device is so low. Overall, I wouldn’t do Lively again.

And I said, “No. But thank you for calling.” One time, I set it down in the charger a little too hard, and the person from Lively said, “Did you fall?” and I said, “No.” It didn’t take them long to call me right back. However, I didn't like the device hanging around my neck, especially in summer, so I would put it in my pocket instead. I have an escort with me that can call 911 if anything happened.
College women should have Lively Mobile. It’s an awesome thing for security reasons. It should be more widespread because there’s so much insecurity around that it gives peace of mind. I’m 88 and my daughter was concerned that I might fall or anything could happen. So, I got a Medical Alert device from GreatCall. I have no problem wearing it. One time I thought I left it on the bed and the company called me and I wasn’t home. So, they called my daughter, Valerie, trying to get in touch with me. They didn’t all know where I went. I was just a couple of blocks over. So, when she finally caught up with me she said, that the police is going to be over here knocking my door down. She asked where my alert device was, and I said that I left it on the bed. I went looking, but I couldn’t find it.
An hour later I took my clothes off the washing machine and I found my alert device looking straight up at me. It’s been through all the wash cycles. I reported that I had found it, because the lady kept telling me it was in the house and I said, “Well, I’m everywhere looking and I couldn’t find it.” I asked them whether it’s any good because it was in the washing machine, and she said yes. So, if it gets dirty you can wash it. It lasted until two days ago. Now, I need some repair done, because the string came out of the magnet and it’s no good. So, I’ve been without it for a few days. I tried to push it up in the magnet and it stays for a little while. But after a while, it falls out and I didn’t want it to drop and break.

I'm aged, and I might fall or be out some place and need help. So I got Lively Mobile, and I feel more secure having it around my neck. It’s comfortable, and I really like it. It’s also cheaper than other medical alert devices at only $20 a month plus taxes. Right when I got it, our phones and our TV were all out and I wanted to communicate with my son and daughter-in-law to let them know I was okay. So, I used the device, and they called my son and daughter-in-law to let them know I’m all right.

My wife had a stroke. She's in assisted living temporarily and so, I'm living alone and I'm also her caregiver. So, I thought it'd be a good idea for me to have something. I had a heart attack about a year and a half ago as well. I had looked at Consumer Reports and there are a lot of devices. But Lively Mobile is one of the few that doesn't require a long-term contract. The no-contract was one of the biggest reasons I chose it and I like the low cost 'cause I just wanted a basic service. It also charges my credit card automatically month-to-month.
I also wanted something that would work when I left the home and some of them require you to be within range of a base station. And we have a large house. And if the base station was in one room and I was at the other end of the house, I'd never be able to talk loud enough to be heard at the base station. And I wanted one that would work when I left the home. So, I like that this works to a cell network.
So I've been planning to get Lively Mobile for quite a while and I saw their ad in the AARP magazine that it was available at Wal-Mart. So, I went to Walmart but it wasn't in yet. So, I called the phone number and they sent it out. It wasn't clear that I would get all the little perks that I was supposed to get through Walmart. But the rep agreed I would get one month free service and a free case. And I got all of that a little less than a week later. But it was disappointing in a way that I later found that Price Electronics had it in-stock and it had all the perks, that I could have picked it up that same night 'cause I'm in Price all the time. So, it's a little misleading implying that all these perks were just through Walmart.
I got it last September but I'm a night owl and I was trying to set it up at 3:00 in the morning and it wouldn't set up. The first time I made a test call, I got a recording that said, "Your call is important to us but all our operators are busy." That didn't sit too well but they came on the line within 10 seconds so I was happy. It worked okay in the end and I realized that a lot of times, websites are doing maintenance in the early hours of the morning and that's when I was trying to set it up. I'm not happy about it but I've come to expect it. So, in the beginning, it was a little rough. But once I got it set up, it's been fine.
It gives me a feeling of confidence. I always have my cell phone with me. But it would be better to be able to just push a button if anything gets urgent. I use the little pouch clipped on to my belt because I don't want it hanging around my neck. At night, I have the charger right next to the bed and every night when I go to bed, I drop it in to recharge. And it's within arm's reach of the bed. So, if I need it in the night, I could grab it if I had to. And then, I put it on first thing in the morning. Or if I get up during the night, I drop it in my pajama pocket and carry it with me. So, I always have it with me. The only time it doesn't work is where I go to a gym to work out and it's in the basement of the building. And there's no service there. But that's okay. There are people around there.
And even though it's water-proof, I did set up a little water-proof pouch in the shower. And when I get in the shower, I put it in the pouch and hang it down near the floor. So, if I were to slip in the shower, it would be within arms reach. Not that I expect to have that ever happen but I'm an engineer and I like to figure out the safe way to do things. I'm very happy with the device. I have mentioned it to other people that have asked about it. One of my doctors noticed the little white light flashing and asked what that was. So, I gave him a sales pitch on it.

My son was here looking through different ads and Lively Mobile was in a magazine. My son was concerned about a lot of things with me. Also, it was discovered that I had an irregular heartbeat and a few things like that, so my son decided I needed Lively Mobile and he did the thinking and research for me. I had the 5Star and I ruined two of them by getting them a little bit wet and I was sorry about that. Then I either wanted to wear it or I got scared to wear it because I thought I'd ruin it again. But this last one that I got is water-proof, so I appreciate that.
I've had it for three years and just lately, I used it for the first time. I tripped at about 6:30 in the evening. I have two replaced knees and I can't use them to get up, so, I had to sit there until the ER came. I pressed the button and someone came on to speak with me. They were very kind and they were very good at getting hold of my two nieces who live on the street, different homes, and my neighbor could see that it was a button. The ER came almost as soon as anybody. I live in a township and its volunteers were excellent. It was wonderful.
This is what's puzzling. The directions say to put it on the cradle at night. I got to thinking after I had my little fall. I didn't like not having it at night because what if you can't reach the telephone? So, I just take it about every three days and put it on the cradle, either I'm home and I don't plan to do much of anything, or if somebody's here, or if I'm going away. I don't know for sure whether an hour and half or two of putting it on every night was very safe either. But I'm grateful that I have it.

So, my daughter got me Lively Mobile. I stick it in my bra and put the black thing around my neck when I get up in the morning. The only time I notice it is when it falls out and I realize it’s swaying on my belly. So, I’d have to pull it back up and start all over again, but that’s not a big deal. It’s fine for everyday use, but if I really wanted to get really dressed up, I probably wouldn’t wear it. I’m careful and go slow with everything I do and I very rarely fall, but it's nice to know I have it. I've been pleased with it and it's a nice security blanket that’s well worth whatever my daughter is paying.

So, I went over there and purchased one. It was easy to set up. I just went to the computer, logged in, and put whatever information they needed, and charged the batteries and that's it.
I've only had the device for three months. I keep it with me all day long. I get up in the morning and I put it in my pocket. You can do just about anything with it, hang it, clip it or put it in your pocket. And then, I put it on the charger as I'm going to bed. And it's a very handy alert button to carry. I had a hip replacement in 2013 and a year ago, I was out in the yard and my hip fell out. Fortunately, I had my phone in my pocket because it started to rain before the ambulance got here. That was not a good experience so that led me to Lively Mobile. Frequently, I would take my cellphone out of my pocket to look up a number, add something to a list, and I would get somewhere and I didn't have the phone with me. With the GreatCall, when I get dressed in the morning, it goes in my pocket. I'm very handicapped now which is why I got it and I’ve recommended it to a number of people.
I feel a lot more secure having it and my family does, too. I live alone and I'm out and about a lot. I can't do a lot of things but I spend a fair amount of time in my yard. And when you don't have any way of reaching somebody, and you live out in the country, it's reassuring to have someone that you can call. I'm happy that I haven't had to use it. But I should test it several places where I don't get cellphone service because cellphone is real iffy where I am.

Somebody told me about Lively Mobile and told me they got it at Walmart. I went to Walmart and looked at it. Then I read and heard about what it covered and what it did. I travel a lot and it covered the whole United States, not just my house. I had the fall device on it so that if I fell and it was on my neck then they would know where I was at. I live out in the country by myself and there’s no one else here. It doesn’t work in the pocket though. I need to keep it exposed and that’s kind of hard sometimes, particularly with a flashing light on it.
My experience with Lively Mobile has been okay, but my thing is not working right now. Where it’s white in the middle, it’s keeps coming out red, flashing. It’s been on the charger all night and it’s still doing the same thing. That could be because we’ve had a week of rain and terrible storms. But when I go outside I can't see a red light. But it’s well charged because the green light shows that it’s charged. This is the first time I’ve had any problem with it and I’ve been quite happy. I’d recommended it to many people and three or four had bought it.

After getting the device, I had a fall, but I did not need to get help, call 911, or go to the hospital, and I was able to handle this situation in the house. But I called Lively anyway to be sure that the device was working.
This incident happened at 3 AM. I pushed the help button and I immediately got a call from the Lively team, so I knew that they were available. They answered within 30 seconds, and that made me feel very secure. I told them that I was just testing the device. I bring it with me all the time. I've been very happy with the service because I can be in touch with 911 without any problem. I live in an area of the city where the residents are all retirees and we have ambulances up and down the street on a regular basis, so I always feel secure.

My kids said that I needed this device because they didn't want me to fall and be by myself. I live alone and I have fallen a couple of times before I had it. They were concerned about that. I had one that didn't work and can only be used from my house to the mailbox. They wanted something that would go further and take me wherever I go. That was one of the reasons for the GreatCall cause it has the GPS system to it. The only thing is that if I had a longer necklace and if it wasn't black. It doesn't bother me but I've heard comments and that's just something Lively Mobile should think about.
I was just at a party today and people saw the device with me and they thought of having one too. I told them my son got it for me and I think it was from AARP. I have used it once, but not for myself. I used it for a friend of mine. We were taking her home and she fell. She was in her 90s. Since I cant seem to get 911 because it was dark, I thought this is to see if my Life Alert works. It did work and they helped me. It was wonderful. They did a great job. I talked to them on the phone. I didn't know the exact address of where we were so the man on the phone said he would stay with me until we get helped. He stayed when the police arrived and when the first responders came until the ambulance came then left. I thank them very much for doing that. My friend wasn't hurt seriously, but that's beside the point. We were there to help her and took her to the hospital until she was sent home.
I wear the device on me all the time. I don't put it in my pocket too much because I'm afraid I might hit the button when I don't need it. It works well. I have no problems with any of it except the fact that I have to take it off at night and put it on the stand beside my bed to charge. The other one I had, I wore all the time even at night and stuff. Once in a while, Lively gets turned off and I have to go on the backside. A lady walks me through it anyway. I have to hold it down for a few seconds and then let it up, do it again and it comes on. Other than that, the whole experience was really great.

It's nice that it can be used any place. It has the ability to track, for instance, should she wander off and get lost. It has also features that we have not activated that we could. Say she would fall and be unresponsive and not be able to push it, there's some options that we could go with with that. But so far, we haven't found that that was necessary yet. The main thing we got it for was if in any case she fell and needed help. It was because my mother has little trouble with mobility, getting around or getting to the phone.
She used it one time when her dog got out and needed help getting somebody to help her catch the dog. She got a bit confused and worked up. Instead of taking the time to go to the phone and try to call somebody, she pushed her button and Lively was able to contact me. I was at work and it was in town. So then, I was able to come down and help diffuse the situation. The device seems to fit into her lifestyle pretty well, as long as she's wearing it. But, there were a few times I'd come over and she didn't have it on so I have to search for it. It won't do us a lot of good that way. I almost took another step to get my money back on it because to me, it's just something that they sell but doesn't work. I've spoken to them about this three times. We've also talked to someone from Lively but we get the runaround on that. It was horrible. The fall detector is just a gimmick to get people to spend more money. It was a false sense of security for me 'cause I go back to work thinking if she falls, everything is all right. There were several weeks that I was thinking I had that security but I didn't. I would recommend the button to anybody but the fall detector is not worth two cents.

I'm going on 97 and I felt that I needed some protection because my daughter's gone about a week out of the month. I got Lively Mobile and I feel good about it. I've used it a couple of times and they're here pretty fast when I press the button. They ask me questions and I held the door open for them. Then I had my friends in the car and they kind of checked on me. I have that written out and my daughter sent a phone number so it's right there for them to see. The reps were very friendly, very patient and I thanked them and they stayed with me. They took my blood pressure and it was a little high but gradually went down. And so they felt and I felt that I need not go to the hospital.
I keep my Lively Mobile by my bed and I put it in at night to recharge it then I carry it out in the day and wear it around my neck. It's not heavy but I don't like it dangling so I kind of put it down inside my bra so it kind of holds up. I encouraged my sister in Utah to get one too. She's nine years younger and she was by herself and she laid on the floor for seven hours before she scooted on her tummy to get to the phone. I'm going to write to her today and ask her if she has one yet and I'll recommend the one I have.

I live alone and have had some falls. I have degenerative arthritis and spinal stenosis, and it'd be nice to be able to get some help if I need it, so I got a Lively Mobile. Lively Mobile has a big, black thick rope that comes down to my navel and is hard to put around my neck. Now I have a stainless steel chain, but still got the little black rope that goes down. It’s long and irritating. They should have a new one or something that’s better that isn’t going to rub on the neck. I bought two chains but they weren’t good enough. Also, the little clasp changes color and tarnishes. It’s not very attractive. I need something that’s not going to change colors if I’m going to wear it every day. It could be a little lighter too.
I’ve had my Lively Mobile for only about two or three years yet I see other devices that look smaller and better. It would be nice if it were smaller and didn’t look so masculine. I was looking in a magazine, and I saw this device, and what was sent to me is nothing like what I saw in the advertisement. I told them I expect it to look like that. I don’t want something big and clunky hanging down my neck all the time. I also want it to at least look a little better. I’m a woman and I don’t want it to look like I have a rope around my neck. I want it to look feminine and I was sent something with a rope. Other than that, it’s the most reasonable in terms of fees and it has worked.
When the Lively Mobile went off, I didn’t recognize what the little sound was. One time, I pushed it accidentally. I fell in the garage and because of my spinal stenosis and two artificial knees, it was hard getting up. I was getting ready to call to just have them call my son as I needed some help in trying to get up, but ended up sitting down behind my trunk and was in a tight position. Sometimes I want to push it just to see if it really works. My son keeps telling me that nobody is going to get in my house. But still, I get nervous that somebody might get in, so it feels good for me to know that I have the Lively Mobile.

I was alone and I don’t know my neighbors. Also, my son worked in a town an hour away. I have neuropathy, I have a walker and I was afraid that if I fall, I’d be in trouble. One time, my doctor came to cut my toenails, removed something at the bottom of my feet and I was barefoot. He pushed my walker in the middle of the room then he walked out. When I needed to reach for my walker, I couldn't.
So I called Lively up and asked the lady rep if I could make a call but she said, "No" because I was barefoot and I could fall. She called my daughter but she didn't answer because they did not identify themselves. She called my son in his office an hour away, and he called my son-in-law, but still, nobody was coming. She then called an ambulance from the University of Michigan and they came out. Luckily, the door was still open otherwise, they would have trouble getting in. So now I'm going to find out if we have a clubhouse and I'll get their number so that Lively can call them if something similar happens.
Another instance is when I was in Ohio, I couldn’t get into my friend’s house. My son got in but we sat in the garage because I couldn’t go up her stairs. I pushed the button on my device and they told us exactly what street we were on. So I proved one thing - all other buttons work only in the house, but mine worked in another state and they knew exactly where I was. The button on the device is easy to push and I found out that I should put it inside my blouse if I am in my room, I was enclosed, or I bend over. I’ve also recommended them to my 88-year old friend in Ohio because when she goes down her basement, she really worries if something happens. So she’s thinking about getting one. Overall, it's been a great experience with Lively.

Before using Lively Mobile, we did have another medical alert device but it was one that was in the house and didn’t do me any good. I fell outside and kept pushing the button. They heard it and they did call my daughter. They also called the fire department. I was bleeding pretty bad by the time they got to me. So when I saw Lively on TV, I called and we got this one set up. I called once when I fell in the bathroom early in the morning. There was no light on and my son talked to them. I have a granddaughter who lives about a mile away that’s a PA, we got her, and she was able to get down and help me get back up. I wear my device every day. And that’s exactly why I want it because I’m on the GPS and they know where I am. It's a little heavy but not much. It doesn’t bother me at all and I’m glad I got it. It does the job.

I need to have a medical alert device because I had a fall a while back. A very good friend of mine got Lively Mobile and I was influenced by her. Then I just bought my iPhone and I also saw their ads in the Sunday section. I had those things together on my mind and I called them. I live in a retired community and it helps others realize I'm doing my best. This is one of the things that I do so that if I fall, I'll have help.
Their device is something you get very used to and after a while I begin to think if it still works. But when you lay it on the bed a little bit maybe harder than you thought and go to take a shower, there's the alarm. I know it's working. It gives me a lot of peace of mind. Other than to tell them I'm all right, the customer service person assisted me when I had put on backwards so the device doesn't charge. I now recognize a little beep that comes and then I get it turned around and it starts to charge again.

I had an alarm system through ADT but I found out it was only good for 30 yards from your house, and it would not be any good if I were to be traveling. A friend of mine told me about Lively, and I decided to get it. When I go out, I usually wear the device around my neck, except when I'm at home and it stays in my counter. I go to the mountains a lot and it impressed me that Lively would go that far. They called me one time when my alarm system went off as I was fixing to leave the house. They were very nice and concerned. Lively makes me feel more at ease. Even when I'm at home by myself, all I got to do is pick that up and mash it, and someone talks to me and in turn they call the person that is number one on my list. So I feel very safe with it. And I have recommended Lively time and time again since I've gotten it.

I'm 70 years old and I live by myself. I had an attack of atrial fibrillation some time ago and I could've died, and that's the reason I decided to get Lively Mobile. The guy that was advertising it used to be on America's Most Wanted, and I figured if he was the pitchman for Lively Mobile and he was honest, then Lively Mobile would be too. The one that I've got is good anywhere in the United States. I own a property out in Northern Arizona and I usually go out there once a year, and that's another reason that I got this rather than some of those that just work at home.
I called in last week sometime when I noticed that Lively Mobile has a cellphone service that has the emergency alert button on the cellphone. My two-year agreement with them is about up and I was thinking about getting it. But after I talked to their representative, he told me that with the medical alert and that being the only phone I'd be using, it'd cost $70 a month and I didn't wanna do that, so I'm just gonna keep what I've got. The charger works fine and I haven't had any trouble with it. I charge the device, put it on the charger every night at 10:00 and take it off at 7:00 or 8:00 the next morning. I wear it around my neck all day long in case something should happen that I might need some assistance.
The one problem I've got is I call and want to talk to a human but it's almost impossible. I don't own a computer so I have to depend on my phone to get through when I wanna talk to somebody, but I can't get through on the phone. Lively Mobile puts me on hold until I finally get frustrated and hang up. Other than that, I haven't had to use their device. I pushed the button one time to make sure it was working okay and it was. They responded almost immediately.

My nephew is staying there but he wasn't there a whole lot. We felt it was necessary due to his dementia and everything. If he would take a fall or something he needed a way to contact somebody immediately. Now he has since moved into the house with me and my wife. I work second shift, and she works first shift. There's only a couple of hours in between shifts that he's actually by himself. He doesn't need it as much but he still wears it everyday because you never know. It's nice to know that he has that.
He actually had a medical alert device before but it was one that you couldn't wear outside the house. It had a mobile base and it was restricted. With Lively Mobile, he can go anywhere. It does help him. I'd have to fix it the other day because the rope came out of the clasp. So, I just threw some super glue in there and put it back in. He charges it every night to make sure it's full. I would definitely recommend it.

I also have some knee and weight problem. After my husband passed, I also got my Lively Mobile. When people look at it and ask, I tell them it's my "I've-fallen-and-I-can't-get-up" button. The reps have been good in responding quickly when I accidentally pushed the button and when I tested it. And then they have an additional fee for the monitoring for potential falls. It's 40 bucks a month for me but it's the best $40 a month I can spend plus the cost of the unit. However, setting up the account online with all the information can be complicated. But currently, I do not keep it on that often because I have another alarm system that also offered a pendant similar to the GreatCall, except that it went into the alarm system and it has no way to charge or replace it when the battery ran down. I’m 65 years old and I'm pretty healthy, but I have fallen at times in the past. It would be a problem since I live alone and so I used GreatCall Splash. I feel safer in general with it while I'm in my home. I also feel that it gives me a little bit more assurance if something happens I would be able to press the button. I use it when I go out and get the mail from the mailbox and I don’t wear it when I'm out with other people.
I've had some problems with the system at times and I get really irritated about how long it takes for me to call. I have the cord which has fall detection and a lanyard that came apart. It gets and stays wet. I tried to be very gentle with it, but the cord came out of the clasp a lot. It falls apart sometimes after a month. Then I have to wait 30 minutes to tell them about it. The guy told me to shut off the phone and I wasn’t thinking that I was talking to him. I hit the call button so he called in, then I canceled the call and turned off the phone thinking that it was fine because the guy told me to do so. Then they called my sister in Illinois to ask how I am and then they gave her a phone number to call back, and it was their line that takes 30 minutes and she was panicking the whole time, something was wrong.
They canceled my fall detection until the lanyard came in the mail. One time they sent me the wrong one and they had to send another. Then it takes a week to get it because usually it’ll happen on Friday and I’d get another one in the mail on Tuesday of the next week, so it irritated me that that the fall detection gets cut off every time. I have to call back to get it enabled and I'm on the phone for another 30 minutes. When it came on, I tried to cancel it, and I still got somebody calling. But I left it for a few seconds because I should talk to them so they don’t screw up about me canceling this. I was told I should cancel it, but I let them come on because I wanted to make sure I talk to somebody so they won’t panic my sister in Illinois about it.
Then the phone has been acting a little strange in the last few days. I was lying down watching TV and I just moved the bed and all of a sudden it said that it’s connecting to GreatCall, the fall detection enabled out of nowhere. I didn’t know it had shut off or it came back on so I've been a little worried about it, it isn't working right.
Also, they should also have something on a device that’s supposed to be able to take in the shower and a cord that is waterproofed. Also, the battery on the fall detection is ridiculous. Sometimes it goes off if I sit up early and stay up really late. It only goes for around 20 hours at a time. They need to get better batteries as it has been one reason where I'm considering of using a different service. I have had a number of irritating things with their customer service, the wait times on the line and the product. However, I'm keeping the service because it's relatively cheap and it gives me some peace of mind.

I'm 85 and work out on a garden. There were times that I have to go down the basement and right now, the driveway is very slippery, so I was worried about crawling. I could get up if everything was alright but no one would ever find me down the basement if something happened down there and I have a very big yard. Lively was recommended to me and I went and bought it. I put the device in a pocket of my coat in the winter and in the summer, I wear it on the carrier that they sent to me with the button on the back of my jeans. It's very comfortable to wear. If I pushed the button and held it, 911 would know that something was wrong and they would come and find me. It gives me confidence particularly to go outside.

They need to make it smaller. Also, they need to fix their phone problem because people with medical alert devices need to be dealt with in a much better way. My device malfunctioned and apparently it wasn't working right from the beginning. It obviously was a malfunctioning device because it would wake me up in the middle of the night saying, "This is GreatCall," and scare the wits out of me which shouldn't be done to a heart patient. I called Lively and was on hold for four hours. They do not have enough staff to answer the phone.
They sent the device back and said it was under warranty but they charged me for the replacement so I'm not very happy. Also, when I was told what the bill was, it wasn't right and they said they would fix it but they still haven't. I was aware of the weaknesses a bluetooth device connected to my smartphone would have. But my home is small and I always know where it is. What I didn't account for is that the Lively Wearable would go off on its own without me activating it. I had 10 instances where for no reason the Lively Wearable initiated contact with Greatcall. Where this presents a problem is when you aren't near your phone and you don't realize it's happened - they call your relative and emergency services. I was able to catch 8 of the false alarms before they did that but on two occasions my family was contacted and 911 was called. The device actually put me in harms way as I often had to run to a different floor in the house to get to the phone when it would falsely contact Greatcall.
One time I was just out of the shower and the device was laying on my bed. In that case they had called 911. Can you imagine if 911 had shown up and come through my front door while I was in the shower! To make things worse even though they knew all the troubles I had with this device as I called them several times to discuss my problems, I must pay shipping and a restocking fee for this piece of garbage. And then I paid 50 bucks for my Lively, and I've seen now that they have been running 25% off discount on it. I didn't like the idea that you pretty much had to have a landline. I didn't want to be tied to that. And I do like the coverage, because that light blinks. I might not have a cellphone coverage, but I got coverage on that little sucker. So that's very good, except that the center light is so bright. You're just like a stop sign walking around with that light and it shows even through your clothes. They should make that smaller or a feature that you could turn that light off. To have little, tiny red button or light that says it's still working. That's why I don't wear it. It's just like a beacon shining.
Also the battery life on a charge won't even get me through the night. It's like 6 hours, and I got to recharge it again. And when I first got it, if I've paid attention, I could go 12 hours without having to charge it. But everyday since, it's gotten a little bit less and less. And now, I am down till it won't even keep me through the night. I take it to bed with me and put it under the pillow on the other side because that light blinking all night would drive you crazy. And then when it needs to charge, it makes that noise. I look at the clock, and it's like four o'clock in the morning. And I've had it several times now, because I am not an early riser. So I make sure before I go upstairs to bed, that is fully-charged. At least it gets me through the majority of the night.

I get disoriented sometimes and I had double knee replacements so there's a risk of me falling. I was alone most of the day so it made sense to have a medical alert device. When I originally took it out, it was supposed to be one price and then they talked me into getting something a little more expensive. So right away, I should have seen the writing on the wall. The first device that I got didn't work so I had to wait and get another one. They wanted to give me a free month which I never got. I cancelled it in February and they didn't cancel it so I've been paying all along. Everything is so small on the statement of my checking account and I have problems with my vision. I'm looking at my checking account statements a few weeks ago and found out GreatCall was still taking it out so another eight months of paying when I cancelled. I went ballistic.
I called them and said I would like my money back from February. I said the gentleman never cancelled my GreatCall and they said, "We can't give you any money back because it was your fault for not catching it". So I said, "You're pretty much implying that I'm stupid or a dingbat." "Oh no!", they said. "Well, that is what I feel that you are implying" and I said, "I don't like that. I'm going to be 70 years old in another couple of weeks and you've taken advantage of me". So I said, "I want a number, you cancel this contract". And I said, "How do I know that you won't be taking more money out of my checking account?", "You have my word for it". I said, "Your word doesn't mean diddly crap to me". Then I have to call my bank and I have to get a new ATM card because they were taking it out of my saving account which I hadn't authorized.
So, I have a mixed reaction with GreatCall. If I had needed it, it was there. I'm from the older adults that when you say something, you're going to do it. I take people as they were and unfortunately that got me into trouble. Do what you say and don't screw with senior citizens. I'm very angry at them and when I see Mr. Walsh on TV advertising it I'm saying, "Oh he doesn't really know!" Either they're going to send me my eight months of $28.71 or I will have to pursue it. I could also go on all of our TV channels, ask certain reporters and they go out and investigate to see if it happened to anybody else. All I want is my money back from February and I had it for the year previous to that. I'm very dissatisfied because of the people.

I live alone in an apartment with steps and my kids said that I should have a medical alert device. My kids then picked Daily Care Lifeline. However, I had to be within voice of the receiver in the house. It wasn't good beyond the house. But when Lively came out, my cousin got one and then my kids said that Lively sounded like a better deal for me because I'm always out and about, so we switched to that one. I called their customer service during installation and they set everything up for me over the phone. Then when I set the thing off accidentally, their people have been very friendly. They've answered any questions I've had. Yesterday, it went off twice within about five minutes. The first time, I hit the device accidentally when I was unloading boxes from my craft shelf so it went off. Then I laid it down, and all of a sudden someone called and said that they sensed the fall. But I didn't lay it down that hard.
However, I was told I'd only get 12 hours of battery life per charge but sometimes I'm not getting even 12. My cousin's device goes from when she gets up in the morning then she puts it on the charger at night. Mine doesn't last that long though I'm out and about more than she is. But when I wear it, people ask me many questions about the device. Some of they are interested in buying one and some are looking for their elderly relatives. It's an attention-getter. I like the Lively device because it's available wherever I am. It's for the peace of mind of my kids who are all farther away. It's also much more convenient than the other one was. And my cousin also has been very happy with the one she got. I've already referred it to a few of these people that have asked.

GreatCall has the GPS and some other abilities so we switched last June of last year. We've had the device for about a week when he had his first fall. We didn't have the fall activation at that time but he was able to push the button and get help.
I feel safer knowing where he is. It gives him a little confidence knowing that if he needs anything, he can either push the button or if he has a fall, he knows that someone will be contacted. The only problem is the batteries are not lasting long enough. I have talked to customer service on several occasions about it and they've been helpful, but we haven't found a real good solution yet. GreatCall is sending a new device out and we should get it someday next week. My father is getting about eight hours a day of battery life. I asked them to check with the technology guys to see if there's anything that can be done to extend the battery life other than disconnecting the fall detection portion.

I like the simplicity of it and it's great that I can link it to my phone, and all the information like phone numbers and data for the closest hospitals and medications are all in the system. I've arranged the phone so that if I'm not in town, I just have them go down the line of the contact, who it is and her relation to them.
I set it up by myself, followed the whole procedure and the first day I got it we did a test. We never had to use it yet but now I have the peace of mind that it will work. If she has any trouble, what I'd do is push the button and she knows that someone can hear her and talk to her. Depending upon her circumstances all she has to do is talk and I'll make a decision on who to call or what we need to do. She's 93 and she understands it. We have a lanyard and she walks with a walker so I have the device right on it and all she has to do is push the button. It's within her arm's reach at any time. I bought the phone from Amazon for my 84-year old dad. It was difficult to set up, but my dad's pretty sharp and read through the inch-thick manual. 1st month was fine. Second month, paid a few $ more for overages. Third month, paid nearly triple the bill for overages. This is where the fun began. Tried to login to the account. I could login, but a separate password was needed to view my bill. I had signed up for paperless, but I NEVER received a bill. My password did not work, was told to call. Over a period of several days, I tried multiple times, was on hold over 10 minutes each time. I tried to email customer service but got an error message that the email could not be sent from the site. Reached someone on Facebook, yada, yada was told to call the number.
So I disputed the charges on my credit card, and submitted a transfer request through my legit phone company. They didn't answer the request after 24 hours, so I tried again to call. Waited until I reached someone. There was no offer to help with the outrageous bill, and when I asked was told I could only get a credit moving forward. I'm not an idiot. I'll just get ripped off further and want no part of their scheme. How many thousands of $ are they ripping seniors off for I wonder? 35¢ per minute after 50 minutes on the $35 plan. The poor customer service does not bode well for the likelihood of adequate emergency response.
So my theory as to why customer service is so poor: they are overwhelmed with people complaining about overages on their bill! People on fixed incomes can't afford surprises like that. How many will have to go without food and other essentials because GreatCall assessed hundreds of $ on their phone bill? Shameful!!! I'm out $135 for phone, $35 for activation and $75 for overages, nearly $250 + $60 for new phone, and $40 for activation (that's more than my car payment!). Learned my lesson, please learn from me.

I especially liked it because it's not just local to the house. He can use it anywhere because it has the locator in it which is nice so if he goes over to my daughter’s house or wherever he is, he can use it. The device doesn’t seem to bother him at all. He's not very mobile anymore, so he sits a lot in a chair. So when he moves, he feels much more comfortable having it.
We have called their reps probably six times since we've had it and mostly because he's fallen and not actually gotten hurt, but has needed help to get up. So they immediately called the fire department and it worked very well. Everybody has been very quick to respond. But I told my husband to call them on the monitor because they need to know that we have a garage code so that they can get in if needed. It so happened I've always been there when the fire department comes, so it hasn’t been a problem. I'm concerned, if he's alone one day, that they don’t break down the door to get in to the house. My 96 year old father has used a 5Star push button emergency alert device for several years. When we heard about the new fall detection, offered by this company, the additional $30.00/month sounded well worth the assurance that if he fell and was unable to press the button that help would still arrive. The push button alert has always worked with a quick response call, but when I tested the new device by falling myself--twice on a bed and then to be sure, I landed on the floor--it did not work.
I called to let 5Star know and was told that I would get a call back in 2 days--when I didn't hear back I called them and the person I spoke to said that the fall device only works when you fall and lay still. If you move at all it assumes you can press the button and the emergency alert does not activate. I have worked as an ER nurse and know that many people fall and writhe in pain or break their wrists or have their hands pinned under their bodies so they cannot use their hands, but they do move. So the fall detection only works if you are paralyzed, unconscious or dead.
My main reason for the upgrade was for the assurance that if my dad fell and was hurt and in pain and not able to press the button, that help would arrive. The fall detection as it now functions is practically useless. They did give me a refund and returned me to the basic push button service, but I spent a lot of time on the telephone and not until after speaking to 4 people did I finally get the information that explained the problem. They listened to my complaint and hopefully will emphasize the limitations -- no movement at all for it to work. If I had been told that upfront I would have not ordered the upgrade.

There was this one instance when I noticed that the device's charging light was red when I went to bed. I thought the battery was getting bad. That was the only time I called GreatCall aside from when I called to make sure it was working when it was brand new.
I wear the device around my neck, put it down inside my bra and go. By putting it down through the bra, it doesn’t stick out. That way it’s right there where my hand would go. I take it off and charge it when I go to bed. When I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, it’s charged and I put it back on. It’s been a very good experience. In fact, I'm recommending GreatCall to a friend of mine as of today.
