My other cellphone that I had for many years was pretty outdated so I needed an update. However, I’m kind of illiterate when it comes to all this stuff, so I just use my Jitterbug like I did my other one. I don’t use too much of the features of it as there’s just that few things that I use. But I would recommend Jitterbug.

I like the Jitterbug phone. It’s nice and the price was cheaper than AT&T. I was paying $40 more. The only thing is that sometimes, I don’t get the message from people till a day or two later. They call, leave a message, but they don’t show up and then a day or two later I get it. I don’t know why it does that once in a while. Nonetheless I like that it’s modern. I used to have a slider and it’s antiquated. It’s easier to text on this phone. The quality of pictures are way better when you want to send a picture.

However it seems I need to reboot it every month, set it down and start it up but I’m happy with it. The phone price stays the same. It is not creeping up. The bill was different every month at the beginning but I didn’t have the right amount of text/minutes. I was getting into trouble and had to pay more. I’d like to know what to expect for month to month. I don’t like the surprises.

My husband and I are both senior citizens. My husband has failing eyesight, and we needed something that we could see easily. We’ve had the Jitterbug Touch for about four months now. It’s very user-friendly and it was easy to learn how to use it. A couple of times, I called GreatCall, who is our provider, and customer service was just phenomenal. We live in a pretty remote area and we can’t use our phone in the house. We have a poor signal area here, and we also have a metal roof. But we can text and do everything, go on the internet. Yesterday, we were out in the car and I used it with my sunglasses on, there’s bright sunshine and I could still see it really easy. This is my fourth cellphone and this is way above anything I’ve had before, including an Apple. It’s really a nice phone.

I'm one of those elderly people that got stuck into a scam and don’t know how to get out of it. When I first got my Jitterbug Smart, GreatCall's reps helped me set it up halfway. Back then, it was 3:00 in my time and I didn’t know what time zone they were in, but suddenly the call ended while they were setting me up with the e-mail address to receive stuff. They went offline and I never could get them back again. I tried to fix it up but I never got it working so I've never really been able to use the phone. That was five months ago, and when I got them back later, it was too late.

Somebody talked me into signing for this medical alert plan and they were saying that the medical alert part was a separate organization, that they split from GreatCall, and that since I have no contract, I could cancel my Jitterbug Smart. But when I tried to cancel it a few months later, they said I couldn't and they’ve been pinging me ever since. They got my credit card number so they just kept charging me regardless. I have to go through some paperwork or I have to send stuff by e-mail but I don’t have a computer anymore so I'm stuck. Meanwhile, I've left the phone and I haven’t charged it in about three months because I don’t know what's going on with it anymore. So I've had a disaster with GreatCall and whoever else is the operator. I don’t have a phone that’s working and I want to start all over again but I don't know how. I need to get this thing working but I need somebody to help me set it up and get me out of the mess I'm in.

It was time to upgrade to a smartphone and I didn’t want another flip phone. My husband ordered a Jitterbug Touch for me as a gift and I've had it for a year or so. This is my first smartphone and it wasn’t difficult learning how to use it. I use it for texting and phone calls. I like that I get my email from one of my accounts on it and it’s nice that weather reports come down on it too, but I don’t like surfing the internet on it and I’m not young and I have no desire to do Twitter.

On the other hand, my phone keeps telling me that I need to remove some things from my phone to get more memory, so I’d like to remove some of the apps and games, but I have to read how to do that in the manual. Another thing is that I haven't yet figured out how I can remove some of the photos that I have on my phone and download and save these in my computer. Also, I can receive pictures from other people that are attaching these to text and I would like to be able to do that, but I haven’t figured that out yet. It’s just a matter of taking the time to play with the phone. But I like to be shown or told how to do things rather than fool around with the electronics, as I’m not one that enjoys digging and figuring things out. Tell me how to do it, then I’ll go on and do it. Overall, though, my experience with Jitterbug Smart has been nice.

I don't like my Jitterbug Touch experience. Right from the beginning when I signed up for it this kid rattle off so fast that I didn't have a chance to answer. My daughter sat with me because I had my phone's speakers on and he said that I had to have that medical thing where you push the button and you can get a hold of somebody. I was writing stuff down and he kept rattling. So far I get phone calls but I can go a week or two without even anybody calling me to make it worth $47. And that medical alert is $26.

And though I didn't put any information down and send that paper for the medical thing they are charging me $26 a month. Also I gave my phone number out but everybody still calls on my old TracFone. So I use the Jitterbug Touch to take pictures that you get into the album. The photo album brings one picture up and you got to play around with it and get what you're looking for. I would have no problem recommending the phone to somebody that understands it but for me I tried it but it's just not working out.

I use my Jitterbug Touch twice or three times a month at the most. I'm disabled and I just use it when I go to the doctor’s office. I only wanted to call another company but my husband said I should look at Jitterbug just in case. Using it is confusing sometimes, like when trying to get back and forth to the home page and this other page on the phone. I didn’t even know how to answer it so I had to look up and read how to do that kind of stuff. I also don't use the internet at all. But I like that I don't have to charge it as much as my other phone. It lasts me if I'm out for half a day at the most. I'll have to look at the talking version because that’s about all I can do. I can't do the hand thing when I'm texting.

I'm 76 and I wanted a new phone. I thought that maybe the Jitterbug would be easier to use than my old phone, which I didn't really know how to use. Jitterbug is also cheaper and their customer service reps were very good. I did have some problems at first but they were very patient and got everything worked out. The number that they gave my phone belonged to somebody else. I didn’t know what to do and called Jitterbug back. Finally, after a couple of months, they said that they'll give me a new number and won't charge me for it. In the end, it worked out just fine.

I don't use a cell phone much and I use it as an emergency thing. I'm not comfortable with using it. I use it only once a week, but I like to have it. And I use it mostly to call my husband. The numbers are big, and I know how to turn it off if I'm going to be in a situation where I don’t want it to ring. I can also power it back up. I have told different people about it and have recommended Jitterbug to others. My husband just got his Jitterbug flip phone and he uses his more than I do.

I bought Jitterbug Smart because I liked its price. I called Rite Aid since they're supposed to have it but they didn't so I had to go through the telephone system to get one sent to me. I'm 72 right now and I mainly use it as an emergency phone since I travel a lot. I like it because it's small. However I wish it has a buzzer because sometimes I feel its vibration from my feet to my head but I can't hear it. Also, Jitterbug keeps changing. When I got something figured out it changes. So I don't know what am I doing wrong with by changing the set up and all the other little stuff because I can't hear it on my left side but I can hear it on my right side. They sent me a book but as I've said it keeps changing. Sometimes, it says that I just press the button and answer so I do but it doesn't work. And they said, slide your finger across, slide it and it works. Now press it, sliding the thing and sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.

I had a small phone and I wasn't quite happy with it, so my son and I went to look at different ones. We saw the Jitterbug and they had a small one, and I said, "If I'm going to get another one, I'd rather have a large one". When I got it, it was about the time that I had a bad fall so I hadn't even tried to learn how to use it. I've had to have 24-hour help around since then. I haven’t been using it like I should because I couldn’t but I’m happy with it and I’m learning how to use it. I have put in certain people’s phone numbers, like my children's, in there and I just hit a button to show their name and phone number. In retrospect, I wish I had kept the small one because this one's large and I almost have to use a purse to carry it in. Other than that, it is fine.

I'm 85 years old so I'm hesitant with the new technology and I'm not as alert as I used to be, but I like my Jitterbug Smart phone. My daughter showed me how to use it, so I didn’t have to do much contacting with the Jitterbug representatives. Everything was fine in my interactions with them. The camera is easy to use and I like it, and I also like the recording feature. But I don't like to talk much on the phone, so I don’t use my Jitterbug phone that much and I use it only if I'm going out, to keep in touch with anybody dropping me off or whenever it's needed.

I'm a senior citizen and my Jitterbug Smart phone is easy to use. I used to have an AT&T phone and I gave it up. But the Jitterbug phone accommodates older people like us who have problems with our eyes since the prints are larger. I have recommended it before to other people. I went on a trip once and I had to use it, then someone next to me was interested in it. Several people who liked it thought that it was a nice size and covered a lot of different things.

I'm a very disappointed user. I have completed two phone calls and that's been with somebody sitting with me and saying, "Okay, this is what you need to do." I'm unable to use the Jitterbug phone by myself and so it sits in a box, I don't even have it charged anymore. I've had it over a year. It was given to me as a Mother's Day gift in 2016. All we do is pay and I use no minutes. They need to have better instructions for seniors. I am a senior and I've had little computer experience. Right now I'm sitting here doing emails. I'm able to do emails but I've not been trained to do very expensive technical work. The information isn't organized in such a way that I can look at it and go step by step. They try to do that but it's not well done.

I also got a threatening message from somebody, that I wasn't doing it correctly and if I didn't seize not doing it correctly they were going to do something. It was not friendly. I wish they had a better step by step instruction. I need somebody to say to me exactly what I need to do in order to place a call or to take a picture or whatever the various functions of the machine. There's a book but it's not laid out in a way that's helpful to me. It just sits in the kitchen in a box. I'm sure there are other people like myself. I have a friend that also has a smartphone that she's not using and it's for the same reason that I'm not using mine.

I really like the fact that it has the emergency call button. And it has a GPS in it so if she needs help, we can track her. And that’s what first caught our eyes because we were going to get one of those call buttons but it was so heavy and she had to wear it around her neck. So, this is much easier and lighter. And she doesn’t have to be in her home to push the button, she can be anywhere. The sizes of the buttons are also large and can be very easily read.

Swiping, keyboard switches so you have both numbers and letters before you can use it is a lot to learn for a first time smartphone user not used to a keyboard at all! Is there an update to make it easier or a way to bypass the system? I wasn't expecting this many steps just to make a phone call!

My children were after me to get a phone that does everything but make coffee and I don't really need that. I'm not really adventurous. I'm almost afraid of smartphones because if you pressed the wrong buttons, things happen beyond your control and I hate that. Same thing with my big TV. I'm scared of it so I just stay in the channels that I know. I liked my little flip-phone because it was easy. The thing that bugs me with the new phone is that I haven't even mastered answering that phone yet. You have to put your finger on a symbol and pull it down to the right which I think is stupid. I don't get that many calls on it because I mostly carry it for emergencies and if I need to deal with my daughters or grandchildren. I'm going to get rid of it in time and go back to a flip-phone that takes good pictures.

I'm a little older and I find that other phones are a little hard mechanically to work. A friend told me about Jitterbug Touch which has big buttons and is more simplified. It's much better for me compared to the cell phone I used before that was much more difficult to operate. I use the Jitterbug more frequently for making phone calls and primarily for emergencies. And the times that I needed help, their customer service was responsive. I'm very happy that Jitterbug services people who are a bit older so we don't get left behind in the mix of things.

I have talked to whatever number it is that came with the phone and the reps were very nice and pleasant. They’ve tried to help me but I just don’t understand it. So, my daughter-in-law is going to show me how to work it sometime around Thanksgiving. It will get better when I learn how to use it.

I'm not really happy with my Jitterbug. There are times that it will start dialing even if it's just lying on the counter with no one around it. It's not operating like I feel like it should. It's also a little too touchy. I can get close to a number and it'll occasionally hit it before I've had the chance to even punch it. I don't use the phone much, but when I do use it, it hasn't been too good. But the experience hasn't been all that bad either.

My sister told me to get a Jitterbug Smart and that all I have to do is put the number that I want to call and it calls. I've got a phone at home that I can use, too. My son said that I needed a phone in the car in case it breaks down and I need to call out. The little phone I had for about 14 years fit in my palm but I was getting tired of its little bitty keys. Now, my Jitterbug has nice and big keys. I carry it in my vehicle all the time in case I need something. It's easy to use and I really like it. It also works when I want it to.

I hate Jitterbug. It’s very difficult to use. Nothing ever comes up on the phone the same twice. Sometimes I can’t even find out how to answer it. It reverts back to where it was when I left off instead of coming up the same. When the phone rings I’d like to be able to pick it up and answer it and not to come up with maybe something that I did three or four days ago. To me it’s a pain in the neck. And when you’re talking with somebody today they always say. “Hit 1 for this,” and I can’t do that on this phone.

I had a flip phone before and that's easy stuff. Now, the Jitterbug Touch is our only cellphone and I find it more confusing. We're older and we're dinosaurs. Half the time I don't carry it so if I needed to call my husband at the store like I see a lot of people doing, I know he doesn't have it on him. We basically only take it in the car with us for emergency. I don't want to be on the phone all the time anyway. It's hard for us to learn all the stuff or care that I learn and I'm as familiar with it as I want to be. I can see where texting can come in handy though. I texted my daughter the other day and she was shocked so she kept texting me. But I'd sooner talk on the telephone to somebody if I needed an answer for something.

We travel to Canada once in a while and we were a little bit confused. I ran into another person who's an IT specialist and I asked him why I couldn't use the phone. He said it was because I didn't have the app for Canada. We were also on a cruise in March and we took the phone with us but we couldn't use it at all. We didn't realize that we had to have an app for going out of the country. There's an age thing with all these stuff and the companies don't gear into the older people because we probably aren't really that interested. The Jitterbug Touch works for me and I'm satisfied.

I like the Jitterbug, but they need to put a little more about how to turn it on. We're seniors and need a phone that might work real easy without a lot of complications. It's there, but your screen goes blank and if you don’t remember and you're old you might say, "Well what do I do now?" So that was the problem. Someone younger had to help and the younger people look at it as though I don’t know how to turn this thing on. Some people that helped had to get online to the company.

Another thing about it is that it is too much reading of instructions for older people. They need to make it a little faster opening up the phone until you get through. It takes so long to come on. If you don’t tap the right thing, nothing is happening. And then when you had to get it on, you had to go back to your house, read the instructions then call the company. Also, the phone is too big and should be made smaller like other phones. It needs a nice carrying case like a pouch to put around your waist to carry the phone. Old people should be able to put it on their shoulders, keep it on their hip, hear it ringing and answer it easily. I'm also wondering how we could cut the bill down because I might have said yes to the camera or the games and all that and another and I don’t know if it's being charged.

The Jitterbug phone is nice once you understand it but the bill is too high. $77 is too much amount for seniors and even if you don’t use their service, it's still the same amount. Other than that, you just have to learn to understand it and Jitterbug should explain it more to whoever is buying it and help them through first time usage. Jitterbug should have a little more information when purchasing at certain stores and they should have a little more information on how to get it going. Also, they should have a representative to explain everything or a brochure to help the buyer. Other than that, I'd recommend Jitterbug.

When I first got started their customer service team helped me get it set up. I didn't understand a lot of the things. I had the manual in my kit but being a senior it took me a little while to get used to it. Their reps were very helpful that they taught me right through everything. The Jitterbug Smart works fine and it does everything I need it to do. The only thing with this phone is I have not found a case and screen protector that could fit it.

I saw Jitterbug Touch as being so easily used but I didn't investigate further to see what else it would do. It's a little flip phone and it just has the bare essentials. I wanted it to be like my sister's phone wherein I could go and look up answers to questions. But the Jitterbug doesn't do that and I'm not enjoying it. I'm not even using it but I'm still paying for it every month. I would love to hear that they had cut me off or not billing me anymore. But I didn't want to ask it because I've been so foolish to order it in the first place.

My family kept telling me that I needed a phone even though I already had one with another provider. I decided to go with Jitterbug because I kept seeing they had rated edge, very reasonably priced, and all the good stuff you get. However, I’m on one of the cheap plans which is $13 but I couldn’t text or do anything and in order to get anything that I could use, it would cost me around $80. It’s a nothing plan. The only thing that I use it for is when I’m in the grocery store and my wife calls me to say that she forgot to tell me to get something. I only called one of my brothers one time using it since I have owned it. I’m thinking seriously about just cancelling it and go to one of the other providers I’ve already talked to that I can get much better service for 20 bucks.

I looked at the ad on the retirement magazine which showed the picture of the Jitterbug Touch and all its benefits and the charges. The systems are easy to use and understand. It’s great for older people but my mother has problems with the procedures. The screen and the lettering are large enough but she gets out of sequence. She’s not using the phone a lot. But since having it, she feels more confident when she’s left by herself. But she had a normal telephone before and she doesn’t care for any cell phones. She forgets where she puts it as well as plugging it in to charge it. It’s also very frustrating to do texting because the style is you get too many letters and it’s a little difficult for texting, so she doesn’t do that. But so far, dealing with the customer service team has been excellent and the paperwork that comes to me with all that information is right on time and easily understood.

Ended up having to send me a new phone. I lost all my contacts, pictures, etc., so had to start over again. Now 2 months later, same problems! They were able to get the voicemail to work if I call in each time instead of going through the voicemail icon. The volume is still a problem. Even my daughter who has no hearing problems says it's not very loud and uses the speaker. What a disappointment. Wish I'd never bought it phone!

I'm getting more comfortable with it, though, and I have all my boys' numbers in it. The phone is very good, and when there was a tornado in this area, I liked that the alert rang really loud for me. There are things that I got to figure out more. I put the two boys' names off the contact, but there's nothing there now. But I found out on the phone call record that if you touch a name that's on the record, it dials. And I was looking at my caller ID and I also found out that I was getting a hold of the boys when I didn't want them. The phone is great for a younger person and it wasn't for me, but I just paid for it for now. I just have to learn a little bit more about it.

I wanted something for emergency calls that would be a reasonable cost for me so I got a Jitterbug Smart. I like the fact that it has larger letters because I'm at an age and it would be nice not to throw my glasses on every time I use it. It's an excellent phone for seniors with all the little features that it has. And they now have the OneTouch deal that's like a medical alert and all kinds of things combined. They've hit the seniors market very well from a marketing perspective, and it’s been a very simple way to do business with them. Jitterbug Touch hit the 5Star button anywhere I was at and the monthly price was good so I decided to contact them. Jitterbug Touch says that the phone is easy to use, but I don’t find it much easier to use than any other cellphone. I have to move around on it and you have to keep it charged like you do any cellphone. It’s also not greater than the other one I had but just I'm okay with it. The Jitterbug Touch makes me feel safer though. I keep it within reach to make sure I've got it more than I did with my other one because it does make me feel safer.

I called their customer support once and I was a little disappointed with the experience. I tried to get the rep to explain to me something vague and she just was rubbish. She said, “Ma’am, you have to have internet in your home.” I answered her, "Well, no. I don’t think so for the few minutes that I have on it." I then tried to get her to explain to me, "Do I have to get internet on my home phone in order to use this phone for the internet? What do I need to do?" She answered me, “Well, you absolutely have to get the internet." I don’t want to pay about $20 a month for internet just to use on the phone. The rep could have been kinder but still, I would recommend Jitterbug Touch to a friend.

When a phone call comes in on my Jitterbug, and I pick it up to answer it, I've got to hit a white button or icon in the middle. I move it to the side and I get a blue phone, and then I hit that and it answers the call. But sometimes the phone picks up signals when I’m reaching across it, and then the phone brings up a screen and it doesn't give me any way to get back to answer the incoming call. And when I get text messages and I’m through with it, I cannot determine how to delete old calls in my call history. Also, the phone itself is a bit too long and it's hard to get a case to hook it onto my belt. I bought the phone at Best Buy and I've been to Walmart Sam's Club but I haven’t found any Jitterbug especially-made cases.

I’m 82 and at my age, I shake a little bit. Some of the indications on the phone are kind of small, so I end up hitting the wrong thing. Then, it's tough to get back to where I want to be. They sent a disc to me but it's linear and I don't get a chance to practice each step so I can learn it. I hate to go to customer service anymore because of the god-awful menus, none of which fit what I want to talk about so I waste a lot of time. They have so many people calling. I ran a call site once and I know all about call sites, hang-up time, the average speed of answer, talk time, and all that nonsense.

When Jitterbug came out with all this new stuff, they needed a set of directions and operating instructions that start out like program learning where you start Step A, Step B, C, so you can step through it and learn something. Jitterbug started out using terms and you don't even know what they are. And by the time you get to the third or fourth sentence, it's got way beyond your capacity to comprehend it. So, they need to go back to, “We're assuming this person doesn't know anything, rather than they know everything.” They should extend their audience to include seniors. They go into the high-tech part of it way too fast. You need to start out slow and go slower and slower as you learn each new thing. I tried the disc and I gave up.

The quality of the phone, the voice, and all those things are very good. The Jitterbug phone accomplishes what I want it to. But when I reduce the sound to silent or increase it back to the loudness, it doesn't give me vibration or anything so I’m depending on that little dot that moves all the way to the left or to the right. In one of the senior magazines, I saw another Jitterbug. It was a fold-up phone, which then cuts the size in half. But I didn't pay that much attention to it because I've got all I can handle with this phone I have now.

When I saw that Jitterbug came out with Android smartphones, I decided to give them a try thinking it's bound to be simple enough for me to understand and use. Indeed, it is simple enough for older people who don't know the rigmarole of stuff. However, it's very slow to come on and to respond from page to page. If I want to go to Google or Facebook, it goes around in a circle and takes forever.

I also get so many advertisements that I can hardly stand it. I have to go through all kinds of pages just to get to my homepage which drives me crazy. Also, I went out and bought a 15GB memory card and put it in and there's nowhere in the manual or on the phone that can tell me how I can get my memory switched over to that card. I've never had these problems with the TracFone I had. I'm not very happy with Jitterbug. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about changing.

So I knew I had to have something else because I wanted to carry a phone and the Jitterbug Touch was much better. A friend of mine set it up for me but when I got home, I needed some more information so I called the number and a woman answered. I asked if they were hired only because they have terrific patience with people and she said they just like people. She was willing to answer any questions that I had and she was delightful to talk to.

The numbers on the Jitterbug Touch are larger and I only use it for long distance calls because my landline is very expensive over six miles. It's supposed to be the most uncomplicated but I still have complications with it. But I like it. I've had it almost a year now and I'm still learning. The other day, I wanted to take a picture but I got a line down through the picture and I couldn't get it off. I also made a call once and I was told to press 1 or 2 but I didn't have a screen that had numbers on it so I hung up. But I have friends who are very computer savvy and when I was with one, she told me what to do. Using the Jitterbug is easier though and if I really worked on it, I would learn more about it. It's $22 a month and I have to charge it more often but I enjoy it. It's made for older people and it has done well with the screen and putting in your numbers.

I use the Jitterbug phone mostly for emergencies and when I'm away from the house. The Jitterbug team has been fabulous every time I've had a question. I was trying to send some pictures to my grandson and I couldn’t get them to go and their people spent probably an hour and a half on the phone with me trying to work this out.

However, I wish there was someplace in the little booklet that listed what all the icons mean. There are some of them that they explain and others not so well. By and large, what I need it for, I'm able to use it comfortably with. For somebody who is incompetent when it comes to electronics and high-tech stuff, it's been a really good experience with Jitterbug. When I ran into trouble that my husband couldn’t bail me out of, I always could call the guys from Jitterbug and have been very comfortable doing that. I have never spoken to the customer service rep because every time I tried to call them I was put on hold or I was told to call back at another time or they would call me back or they have kept me on the line for a long time. I was not satisfied. Yet my friend tells me to call them and that they’re very nice, they’re very kind and that they’ll explain everything. Meanwhile, I’ve never called them again.

Fresca, we are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your Jitterbug Smart phone and we appreciate your feedback. The GreatCall network is powered by the nation’s largest and most dependable wireless network. If the signal in your area is fair or poor, the battery will work harder to keep the signal and may require more charging time. Although the Jitterbug Smart should be charged in 90 minutes, you can charge your phone overnight as you cannot over charge it.

My father is old and I needed a simple and easy cell phone for him to use. He had a previous phone from a different provider but the Jitterbug phone is a little easier for him to use. He’s starting to get too old to even use the Jitterbug and he’s starting to get confused by that one, too, but it’s user-friendly. My interactions with the reps have been really good, and they’re very informative and helpful. Sometimes, the line gets busy and you have to wait, but that’s with every company. My dad went over his minutes and his bill increased that I wish that there was some kind of alert in place. Actually, there was and they didn’t notify me, so I was a little bummed about that. I know another older lady who had the same situation happen to her. Her bill ended up quadrupling and she didn’t realize that that was going to happen. For old people on a fixed income, that’s a real chunk of money. But overall, I think Jitterbug Smart is the best company for older people.

I've never called anybody on the Jitterbug Touch but I read the book and tried to do what it said. There's nothing that needs changing, and I just need to read some more and do a little more investigating.

I've watched the videos to learn how to use it and I've had nothing but good experience from the team. However, I drop calls if I’m in the house and I have to do them outside. And that only happens here but if I were anywhere else, I don’t drop calls. I don’t know if it’s just a lousy cell signal. Other than that, it is a great phone and I’ve never been happier. I needed a cellphone that was a little bit larger in size and I purchased a Jitterbug Touch. The toughest thing about the phone is its marketing strategy. For a while, I couldn't find any place that had it. Walmart and Sears didn't know what I was talking about. Then one day, I was at Best Buy and I saw a Jitterbug phone on the rack. It was an item like a USB cord that didn’t do much for the store's bottom line and the guys didn’t do anything about them. Instead, they try to sell products like Samsung or things that have more features which I'm not really into. I like things to last and are easy to use. I also like something that is useful in my daily life and don’t cost a whole lot.

A person who has Jitterbug is not a computer-oriented person and that is the market for it. Selling a Jitterbug to people who want a computer in their hands is a waste of time because the Jitterbug doesn't do everything they want to do. But for me, the Jitterbug works and I take it with me when I go on trips. But it is harder to figure out compared to my other phones. While I can dial out good, I don’t know how to answer and I can’t figure out how to get it to ring. Everything is nice, though, and the buttons are large so I don’t need to put on my reading glasses to use it.

We had a little flip phone from T-Mobile and it worked fine but it was hard to use and it’s hard to see the numbers. It was so tiny that it really was a nuisance. Then I saw Jitterbug Touch advertised in AARP and it looked like a good deal. It’s easy to use with big numbers and a big screen, and it was cheap enough at $20 or $70 a month. We ordered it and got it, and away we went. The Jitterbug’s better than the old one but I’m not a techie guy and I don’t use it any more than I did with the flip phone.

The Jitterbug Touch is fine for what it does and I don’t regret buying it. I don’t call in for service or problems, so I have nothing but good to say, and I’m happy. I should use it more but I don’t know if I ever will. It’s just sitting around and we can use it whenever we want to but it’s a nuisance to remember to take it along and we just don’t have any need for it. We’re not big cell phone users. We’ve lived this long without a cell phone and we could probably live another 100 years without one.

It's hard for me to carry in my pocket and I'm always afraid of losing it. But it's so much better than my old phone. It's easier to look up things.

You have all your information right on the front. It's just a quick phone. Not only that it's easier to text, it's easier all the way around for seniors. When I travel to a hospital or for an appointment it's a lot easier to call somebody. GreatCall also has that red button in case of emergency. All you have to do is push it and some qualified agent will come to your assistance. I would recommend Jitterbug. It's one of the greatest.

When we bought my Jitterbug Touch, my daughter was with me but I got sick to my stomach when we were talking to the reps so she took care of it. She works two jobs and she really doesn't have much time to tell me how to use it. When she does, it's so fast that I forget what she said. The Jitterbug is a little expensive and it wasn’t the best that I thought it was. If I make the call or if somebody calls me, I have to pay and I can't afford that.

I go out to the doctor quite a bit and I use a ride to go where they pick you up and when you're done, you call them and you wait until they come to take you back home. I have to have a phone to do that or I have to ask the doctor's nurse to do it for me. The Jitterbug Touch could let me do those things myself and not have to bother others and I like that. But I'm 92 years old and I'm not a big phone person. My kids are out of town and they’re the ones who call me. I'm very satisfied with what I have used the Jitterbug for, which has been very little, but I have it for about a year and I don't even know how to turn it on.

It had better reception and it had numbers that I could press individually. It also had very good sound quality. Compared to that, my Jitterbug Touch has big numbers on it. It is easy to read and easy to control. It does not have good sound quality but has a lot more applications than they had back in 1985. Most apps weren't even available back then. I use the Jitterbug to make and receive calls. I also use several applications on it and for information on Google.

It would be easier, though, if the buttons were concentrated so the rest of the phone was easy to hold on to instead of being so sensitive that I can't even pass it to somebody without changing the screen. As for the Jitterbug customer service team, they've been fairly knowledgeable in providing information about what's wrong. More so than other systems.

But there were restrictions in certain places like no power or no reception. I'm 82 years old and even as I grow older I'd like to be active. I walk a mile or two a day sometimes on wooded road. I like nature so I'm walking places where there isn’t a lot of people around and my daughter didn't like that I couldn't reach somebody. Jitterbug Touch had a medical help system and that’s the reason she bought it for me. She feels better and I am not afraid to go for a walk because I know I can push the 5star and get help. I feel more confident on what I'm doing and I'm not afraid to go out alone.

My daughter spoke with the customer service and had it set up for me before I got it. I really don't want email or a lot about the things I'm not up to. I get enough of the calls on my regular phone from people soliciting things and I don't want it on my Jitterbug. I don't have a lot of apps. I basically want to be able to call, to text if I wanted to do that and get help when I needed.

The phone is easy to use except that some icons are a bit confusing but my daughter helps me. And I like that it has a bigger screen, unlike the regular phones that the screens are too small for older people. It’s a little bigger that sometimes I had to carry a pouch because it’s too big to fit my pants pocket. I have arthritis in my hands so it’s convenient for me to be able to push the buttons to call. I’d recommend Jitterbug and in fact my sister has one.

I used to use it to call my friends or when I am in my car that I need to stop and to call. But I heard about Uber and they told me that I cannot call Uber on my phone. So I got in touch with the company and now I have the new phone that they have. It's very nice but the problem is, I am 79 years old, I have been retired for over 10 years and I don’t know how to operate that phone. I am spending money monthly on a phone that I hardly use and I am debating whether I should return the phone and get the old-fashioned one or I should keep it. But I am over ashamed when my friends realized that I don’t know how to use that phone.

Some of them teach me what to do and tried to help me with taking pictures with the phone and putting the sound higher. I hear them, but once they leave and the next day comes, I don’t remember half of what they said. Unfortunately, that is also due to age. I also read the book but when I look at the phone, there are so many little things on top. It’s my fault though. I should take more time to sit down and play with it. Some of my friends say that I have to learn this way, but I am really bad at it.

I am afraid there’s something wrong with me. My cleaning lady spends time talking on the phone. She knows how to operate that phone and me, I’m a big zero. I have the Senior Center in Santa Monica. I should start to inquire and that's what I’m going to do next. I promise that I will do some things. I have to find a person who is willing to teach me and I will pay high, minimum wage, $15 or $20 an hour. I have to learn how to operate that little phone since this is the future. Then I will change to a larger version of the phone so I can see things better after I learn how to use the smaller one.

My husband and I had other contracts with other providers but every time I turned around there was another fee and what I was paying AT&T was absolutely ridiculous. Plus, half the time I never had any cell service. When my husband’s phone went, he got a Jitterbug flip phone. He is old school and he likes the old-fashioned flip phone because he doesn't text, though he's learnt how to take pictures.

So I called GreatCall to get the Jitterbug touch phone through them. Their customer service team was absolutely fantastic. They didn't rush me and talked slow because I have two hearing aids. They explained everything, were nice and were not like all other salespeople when as soon as you will get their product, the price goes up and up. I also like the fact that there's no contract and the price was a third of the cost I used to pay. It's for older people and it works easier too. My phone came already programmed and I don’t have those annoying phone calls I used to get on my other phone from everybody else trying to reach the person who had my number before.

I'm fairly happy with my Jitterbug. A lot of times I'm working and I can't answer a phone call but my daughter and I text a lot. She lives in Georgia and this is how we keep in touch. However when we text, the letters come up a bit small and it would be a little better for me if where I got to push the letters with that square would be a smidge bigger. For us old people with arthritis, our fingers don't work right. The flip phone has the keypad with larger numbers and that's what my husband likes about it. As for me, I like that it's almost like having a medic alert device but he has it right on his cellphone. It's got the button and all he has to do is crush it.

The Jitterbug people told me that I could have an email with so many megabytes and I could have data. They also told me they would help me if I had any questions but I've never had the time to sit down and call them about getting pictures on my phone. When I first got it, I didn't realize that I was going to have to have data to even receive or send a picture and that kind of floored me. I'm very cheap and I was trying to cut back at the time so when something came up about data, I thought it would increase my bill so I may have pushed the wrong thing and deleted it. But that’s my fault. I have recommended Jitterbug to an elderly friend because she's never had a cellphone, and I told her she wouldn't have to worry about a contract with them.

I'm paying the standard $40 something every month which is deep because I hardly ever use it, but I feel better knowing that it's here. I like the safety feature where I can use it and put it by my bed if I wanted to. It’s a good product and charges quickly. I can usually count on it to be not screwed up enough to work properly during the day. Next week, the power company will turn off our power all day to do something. When my landline plugs into the electric power to function, I have a phone that will work fine for me if it's charged. I would not give up my landline, but Jitterbug is good to have. Also, my grandchildren and I talk a little bit once a month, so I'm not on the phone a lot.

Jitterbug is good and laid back and it's serving my purpose right now. I need it because I need contact with the outside world and I'm 77. I'm old enough to need to have something that reliable, that I can access if I fell down. I try to keep it nearby and I should carry it in the car, but I never take it. It is a phone that works for me if other openings aren’t there for me to use. Fortunately, it works better than anything I've tried so far. For what I used it for, it's perfect. If I had a friend that was of my mindset, I’d recommend Jitterbug.

I figured that I needed an emergency phone because if the electricity goes off, my landline phone doesn't work. There was a lady at church who passed away and so I bought her Jitterbug Touch cellphone. I only use it for emergencies. Although I've got the features on it, such as the one for taking pictures, I don't use these features and I don't take incoming calls too. I'm not dissatisfied with my Jitterbug Touch phone. It’s just that I don’t know that much about its features.

We liked the screen of the Jitterbug Touch phone, its ease of use, and being able to know what buttons to push. I previously had a different cellphone with just a slide-out, little keyboard. Compared to that phone, my Jitterbug Touch phone is much better and a lot bigger, and has a keyboard that's easier to use. I'm very happy with my Jitterbug Touch phone. I can now do texting with my kids and grandkids, though I never did much in the way of texting before. I had a very good experience with Jitterbug and I would recommend them.

I was unsatisfied with the phone that I had before. There was no way to get anything that I wanted with my server at a reasonable cost with the service that I wanted which was less than what most people want. It was a flip phone and I couldn’t get smart phone service that was going to cost me less than $60 or so a month for services that I wasn’t going to use. Jitterbug Smart is a whole lot better. It's so much easier to handle text messages because the screen is bigger and I don’t have to hit the same number two or three times in order to get that letter. It also has a really simple interface and I like it. But I get more calls from people who I haven't initiated calls from than I get from family and friends. I would like for them to have some way to block the calls I don’t want to receive. We are on the “Do not call” list but that doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of difference. But I have recommended it to friends.

I used to have a simple pocket cell phone which I never find when I needed them. It’s also easy to use but when I look for previous messages, mailing and so forth, I have difficulty pulling things up. And if somebody sends me a text, once I can get it on the screen, I can read it, but I can't necessarily find them and put them into place. My wife and I bought two Jitterbug Touch phones but my wife has started to use hers more and she will probably get better accustomed to it. However, she has a little difficulty with any cellphone because she only has hearing in one ear. And so, hearing on a cellphone usually doesn't come through as sharp as needed for her to get good communication.

I was doing forestry and I work alone in the woods and that's when it's good to have a cell phone, for emergencies. But when I'm away from the communications tower, I don't get a good message. I have mine in my pocket and because of that, I accidentally had a number of times where I accidentally call for rescue or an emergency which was embarrassing. Also, I found it a little complex to use and instructions in the books aren't fully complete. I haven't been using it so I canceled it. Nevertheless, their customer service team were always polite and as helpful as they could be. The safety call, the help call, and the emergency option are very good things about Jitterbug which is a prime value for elderly people but my experience with them has been frustrating.

It was bugging me when I first got the Jitterbug. The phone is a little bit complicated but I'm getting used to it. When I went to California to see my grandson play baseball, I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted to. So, I was very fortunate I was on the 14th floor because I couldn't open the door wall, otherwise, it would have been in the street. But I still have it and as long as I know how to use it and I can push and get my calls out and receive them, I'm okay. I never had to use the medical alert feature on the phone but it gives reassurance for me and the kids.

I got the Jitterbug Touch as a gift. I know that I can call, but that didn’t appeal to me. I also find the book that came with it somewhat lacking. The first time I looked at the book for a phone, it blew my mind and I didn’t know what they were talking about. The Jitterbug I have is not the same as my husband’s. This one is too big for a pocket and enormous for a purse. Besides, if something is closed up in a purse, how do you hear it?

They had a class here in Fairfax where we live and I learned a couple of things but I found out it's going to take more than that. I'm not completely dum-dum but everything has become so complicated or there's a new number to learn, although a lot of it may have to do with my attitude. Then they didn’t have a class for another month. And when I went there, someone found out how to turn on the flashlight but I looked all over and I couldn’t figure it out. They have a young man who works here instructing the classes and he told me there are some things about the phone that even he didn't know.

I haven't called Jitterbug about this either, because I'm more comfortable with somebody that's sitting there and explaining things. It’s not a happy picture for Jitterbug, but it's not necessarily their fault. My granddaughter looked at it and it was nothing for her but then, they grew up with smartphones. Financially, it is a good deal as far as I can see. But I can't very well recommend it when I can't use it.

I had an old phone and all I did with it was call and receive calls. I needed a new one and my daughter thought that the Jitterbug Touch would be ideal for me. She got it for me, but my experience with my Jitterbug Touch has been unpleasant. I wanted a smaller phone than what the Jitterbug is - one that would fit in my pocket better. Another thing that I was really discouraged with is the picture. I thought I could get better pictures with the Jitterbug Touch but that wasn't the case. I got better pictures on my little phone that I had. Other people could take the same picture I was taking and their screens would be nice and clear. And mine was not vibrant. So, I quit taking pictures unless it was something that I just had to have a picture of.

The other thing is when I get a text, I can hear it ding if I'm close enough to my phone. I have more texts with my Jitterbug Touch because sometimes that's the only way I will get a reply from certain people. They don't like calls anymore. They'll text but won't call or answer their calls. So, I find myself texting more even though I think it's more time consuming. However, it used to put a number by the person's name and it doesn't do that anymore. Some of the texts had been on there forever. Like for instance, behind my son's name, I have three texts that I got months ago. And I can't get rid of them. I can't get rid of the number. It's really confusing. It's supposed to be very simple to use, and I didn't find it so much that way. It's a hard phone to understand and use, and I kept going back to the manual but there are some things I just can't figure out on the phone.

Also, I cannot download any pictures for the last couple of months. And they were downloading before. I could never learn how to get my pictures. When someone would send me a picture and I would try to send it to somebody else, I couldn't. I am very dissatisfied with Jitterbug and I would not recommend it to anybody. I had nothing but trouble with it and I'm ready to throw it in the garbage. I'm getting ready to get a different phone.

My wife and I are in our seventies and live in assisted care, and my wife is vision-impaired, with glaucoma and macular degeneration. I did a lot of research on the internet because I don’t buy anything unless I research it thoroughly, and I decided that the Jitterbug Touch phone was exactly what my wife needed, and I was right. She only has it so that her friends can call her and she can hit speed dial to call her friends. We got her that phone because she can make the letters and numbers really big on the screen so she can see them when somebody calls in and the dialing numbers on the phone are big, too, when she uses the speed dial to call out

Since we got the phone, I set it up and gave it to my wife, and she uses it twice a week. She doesn’t need me to dial the phone and she doesn’t have to have me pick up the phone to see who's calling and tell her if it's one of her friends. She has a separate number so she knows that if anybody’s calling on that number, it’s probably one of her friends. But all of her doctors call my phone and she hates answering phone calls of telemarketers. With Jitterbug, if she doesn't recognize a number, she doesn’t answer the phone, so it’s great and perfect for her. In addition, by putting her under the Jitterbug service which is extremely well-priced, my cell phone bill went from $200 to about $80 a month. I like the very inexpensive coverage in Phoenix where we live and my wife loves the phone for what we got it for.

So I went to Best Buy to get Jitterbug's flip phone, but the rep told me the Jitterbug smartphone was so easy to use now. He went through all of the steps and it’s really simple to use so I took it home. The letters come right up on the screen, where in the flip phone, you’re using numbers with letters. Also, the numbers are bigger with the smartphone.

But I’m not using half the things that the smartphone has on it. I'm not a computer person and I don't do email, so I'm paying for all these features which I don't really use. I hardly ever use it unless it’s an emergency or have to call. Also, I can’t carry it around with me or put it in my purse because it’s too big and bulky. And I’ve had this smartphone too long to return it so I’m just going to have to order another one. I know a friend that got the Jitterbug flip phone and she loves it. It’s smaller and would be more appropriate for me. It also has a lot of the features that the other cell phone did not have like the emergency button. So that’s what I’m gonna look into now.

Jitterbug's customer service team was very good and helpful. But I’m very dissatisfied with the Jitterbug smartphone. If I call my daughter Pam in Texas, it will say, "Pam" and then it will say "Pam Call". And then if I enter, it will say "Call home" "Call work". It will call wherever she might be and I can punch that in. And then the family uses the camera a lot because my grandson in Chicago had a baby and they can send that.

It's working great but it's not very loud. If I call someone and then they answer, the tone is very low and I can hardly hear them. There are two buttons. I turn it on and off using the button on the side and the other one is supposed to control the tone when I push it up or down but it doesn't do anything. But it has a very clear instruction book and I should get it out. I learned a lot from the book and that's what I'll do. Other than that, I would recommend Jitterbug. My payment is on my bank account every month and it's easier and I chose that one because it was simple.

My husband is old and can't figure out cell phones. He had one of the little flip phones with tiny little buttons on it and he's got big fat fingers. I thought the Jitterbug would be a nice option for him and I went with a smartphone because I was trying to get him a little updated with the rest of the world. However, it wasn't a good idea. I recorded my voice saying "Text message" and put that on his phone as he was never hearing the little ding that it would do when he'd get a text message. It would just start shouting out "Text message," and then it would say, "Star 86" which would call voicemail when he'd hit it but there was never a voicemail there. It just went off constantly, like every few minutes and it will still start going like that even after he would read the messages. I tried to tell him that it kept reminding him because he's not reading or listening to his messages.

My brother-in-law who's a techie guy tried to figure out what was going on with the phone. When he got done with it, I couldn't turn the phone off or do anything. It would shout and tell what button I was touching but the button wouldn't do anything. When my finger started tapping six times on the off button, the phone finally got to shut off. It just went wacky on me. My brother-in-law showed up and he had another phone that he had refurbished. Then the boys just went on to Walmart and got a new phone. I called and canceled the Jitterbug service and the lady was real nice about it. My mother got a Jitterbug flip phone too. She's 90 years old and she doesn't have a problem with it. It's the one with those bigger buttons and that's probably what I should have gotten for my husband. But he's getting better with this other phone.

I like Jitterbug Touch because it has big keys, and is bigger than the regular phone. I got it after my husband passed away. However, I'm paying $48 for it, which is high as I don't use it often because I have a bit of a hard time seeing it due to my bad eyes. But it's still nice to have it in emergency situations. I was glad I have it when our house phone went out here not long ago and I didn't know how I was going to get a word to anyone to get it done. I had this phone and so I called the next door neighbor and she got the phone fixed for me. It's a nice phone and I would recommend it to anyone.

The price of Jitterbug Touch's was fair. I like the idea that you can buy what you need as far as the hours and minutes and I especially like the fact where you can pick what you want as far as how many texts. I'm not a heavy user. I've used other cell phones before and this beats them all in a way. The customer service team was awesome, very friendly and I can understand them but I didn’t wait for them. I typed in major numbers and it was up and running before I was even really ready for it. Also, with the voicemail, sometimes I have to put in passwords but this was ready to go. The minute I typed in that number that comes in the package, it was functional. I thought I had to do more on my end.

But I didn’t know what my phone number was and I thought maybe something went wrong, so I called. All I had to do was reboot it and it came on. I use it a little more because it's more convenient and when I'm out and don't have my tablet with me. Also, I like that I use the voice recognition whenever I text. I usually have more to say than I have the talent to type and by the time I get to type, I forgot what I was going to say. I've recommended it to everybody I talked to.

I have a lot of trouble with the computer and thought the smartphone would be easier. I wouldn’t have to be dragging it out all the time and I could learn things little by little. I had a prepaid flip phone that I use for emergency call outs, and if I was away from home, I could get a call on it. That’s what I'm doing with Jitterbug right now. I like the flip top, but the smartphone is not bad either. For what I use it for, it works fine. I still have trouble with a lot of it, but I have kids who can show me some of the other stuff. Every once in a while, we come up with something that I wanna do. When my son was adopting a dog and wanted pictures of the backyard, I had trouble with the camera and called somebody from customer service to help me. He was patient and took me step by step, but I didn't finish and had to cancel because my son was calling back on the other phone.

The camera was fine and my son showed me how to take pictures, but at my age, when I’m shown me how to do something, I need to write it down in a way that I understand, so that next week, if I wanted to do it, I could get my little notes and figure it out. Unless I do something over and over, it doesn’t stick all that great. The one thing I like on my son’s phone is he presses something where he talks to Siri and he’ll get answers to his question. Jitterbug has something that I can press and I’ll get a printed answer sometimes on different things, but they don’t have that little gal that talks to you and tells you what you need to know.

I have a lot of other things I’m doing around the house and learning about the phone is not on the top of the list. I still have their book and when I have time, I plan to learn it a little better than I know now. In the meantime, it covers making and receiving calls, and it also has their emergency thing on it if I fall. GreatCall is the same company. I had them before without the phone, and then I dropped it because I figured I could use the little free phone. I could go almost as fast on that to get help. I dropped my phone one time and I must have hit the button because I automatically got somebody on who asked what my emergency was and I had to tell them it was a mistake. I realized how fast they come on and it was good. Overall, I'm pleased with them for now.

The Jitterbug looks like it would be easy to use and they said it was easy to use. It has all those big things on the phone of it and I thought, "Oh, this looks just like what a 75-year old woman who's got some memory problems needs." So, I bought it anyway. I didn't use it very often. I was on Republic Wire on this and I was having a problem with that phone. I just got that straightened out today.

I just didn't like the Jitterbug wireless and they wouldn't give my money back either. I past the 30-day turnaround time already. If they look at how much I used it though, they would've given me my money back. I canceled my service and I just have it sitting there. The first thing I didn't like when I started, is when I wanted to put another number in. Somebody called and I want to put their number in my contacts. Other phones that I've had when you get a call, there's a little emoji and then it puts the number in and then you put the name in. This doesn't have one. You have to go to the contact list and do all that other stuff. I thought that's kind of strange that they advertise it as being so easy to use and yet, this is more difficult. I didn't like the size of it too. It was too big. And I just didn't mind that that's easy to use.

So far, my Jitterbug phone has been okay for me for what I use it for. It's more beneficial for my work because I work outside a lot, and it's been very helpful in that respect. Also, there are good features on it that I didn't have before.

It's a good phone for people that are up in their years and don't understand a lot of it. It's complicated for some people, but it's fairly easy to operate for me, although there are times when I'm not operating it quite well because my finger touches some things. But otherwise, everything seems to be doing okay. I just happen to be not real knowledgeable. There are a few features available on it that I can use that I don't know quite how to operate. I'm still learning some on it because I don't have time to sit down and figure all of it out, but my brother-in-law is a technician, so he helps me a lot. All in all, I would recommend Jitterbug Touch.

I spent almost a full hour asking questions before I purchased it. The other issues I had with it, was it was HEAVY, difficult to switch views like go from phone to e-mail, and I had to have a bazillion passwords. I had a set of passwords for the account, and one for the phone. I bought the "5" key with it that was a medical alert, or emergency button, and I had separate customer numbers for that. Too much to remember when you really need help, and are under pressure.

I’m not really a computer person, so it took a little getting used to on my part and I was always looking up things in the manual. But I like it! I can take pictures with it and do all different things that I didn’t do much with the other phone I had. I’m still learning about it and my daughter-in-law was helping me. She had taken pictures of the children and she was putting a whole bunch of them on the phone for me which was very nice so I could look at them whenever I want. It was a little bit above my comprehension because I was never into it that much. My husband had the computer and he sat in front of it all the time, but that wasn’t for me.

Little by little I’m getting to do things. I have some part-time jobs, I'm busy, and I'm watching the grandkids a couple of days a week so it’s not bad. I'm 80 years old and not a youngster but if I had more time to myself, I’d probably learned a little faster. Their customer service reps were very good and helpful. I am more confident and up to date with everything going on. I can check now and take pictures which I didn’t do with my other phone.

My husband had a medical issue or concern and I bought a Jitterbug Touch for his Christmas. He had like four phones before including a sim phone, two iPhones and one of those MetroPCS basic phones. They were all touchscreen phones and all of them were very confusing. There’s too much you could do. But the Jitterbug was user-friendly, has good tutorial services, has all the apps loaded in an easy to follow way, it’s no cluttered information, and has emergency services options.

He uses it every day. He plays music now, searches the web and he was able to accidentally have the ambulance call him. They responded within a few seconds. The guy even said that they could see where he was and asked if he needed anything and if everything was okay. My husband explained to them it was a mistake. He also called me to apologize and I told him to not do that again. It can be very expensive for us. It works and the phone service is really good. I wanted another one but they don’t come in red or any of the color. My mom doesn’t want a black cell phone. It was just too hard to see. Also, I have to improvise and get a screen protector for it. At least, I was able to get a company to do a screen protector for it.

But the team at Jitterbug has not been very good. I’ve called about multiple things and I've never been able to get answers. From getting help putting in phone numbers into and trying to make sure that I’m not having a problem making a long distance call. But every time I call, I never really got to customer service and it was extremely frustrating especially when that phone should be with the certain type of service that people aren’t familiar with. I should be able to call customer service and they could walk me through it but that area is lacking. I almost cancelled it and pay whatever fee it is for the cancellation but I thought it will get better over time. Still, I would recommend it.

It's always nice to know that I have that. I called their customer service for the setup and they gave me some steps that I had to do that’s on the phone. Once I got that done, the phone said "call" so I called customer service again and they continued to set up the phone for me. That’s where I set up my passwords, etc. It was a very easy process and the phone is self-explanatory. When I push the button for it to come on and I unlock it, all the information is on the left side of the screen. It says phone, text messages, camera, photo album, urgent care. I can call in if I push the 5Star button.

The other phones, I have to go in and search, and try to figure out how to get to where I want to go. With Jitterbug, it's all laid out right there. I've been recommending Jitterbug. It's inexpensive but I have everything that the expensive Galaxy7s and 8s have. Why spend $750 for a phone when Jitterbug is less expensive and it has everything? The only thing I haven't tried yet though is putting my phone on Bluetooth through the car. Would I push something on the car or would I still push the red star on my phone in order to get the 5Star activated? I could push a button and talk to somebody, but everybody in the car can hear the conversation.

The Jitterbug Touch phone is 100% better. I bought it mostly for when we’re out on the road. I’m rural and I live in a valley, so we don’t get service at our home. But I didn’t have a good experience with their reps. When I bought the phone at Best Buy in the nearby shopping mall, the rep set it up for $45 a month. Since there were times that I've never used the phone the whole month, I called GreatCall and they said they would give me the $9.95 plan. But they didn’t change my plan. It’s been two months since I've had it that I haven’t even used it.

I got a new bill yesterday and I’ve called the month before. It’s unnecessary to pay $45 for when I only need the $9.95 which the man told me he was setting it up for me. I’m going to call them again, but it’s hard to get through to them because it’s either you're put on hold or you're told to call another time because there's so much volume of calls. But other than that, it's been great with Jitterbug Touch. I like the phone and I have recommended it to different people.

They're very knowledgeable, helpful and patient, unlike some other places I call. For that alone, their customer service is so good and I would recommend it to people.

Jitterbug sounded pretty good to me so I bought one. I don't really use it all the time but I'm very satisfied with my Jitterbug. I use it to make calls if a car breaks down or if I needed doctor's appointment.

The reason I am writing this review is to alert other senior citizens about the Jitterbug Smart and the poor customer service. This was my first smartphone. I had quite a few questions, but each time I spoke to an agent, he or she was rushed, impatient, and rude. I am a teacher and as alert and bright as anyone else. There is no excuse for their behavior. I sent back the phone as the last straw after getting lewd texts from strangers telling me they saw my picture on Facebook. I am not on Facebook. The phone was more trouble than it was worth.

My neighbor got me interested in Jitterbug. They had one of the little pocket and button type cellphone which they use when they travel. We had a power outage but people around us within a couple of three blocks had power. My neighbor's wife got a Jitterbug and called the power company. I asked her about the phone and she told me to check with Jitterbug and they're happy with it. The phone is a little too small for me that I can lose it really easy. Also, I'm in a retirement stage and my hands are a little bit on the disabled side. I'd like the touch-type phone since pushing buttons is really hard for me to do. Jitterbug came out with bigger ones and I got one. They had the phone set up when I got it and everything has been working perfect on it. I dropped the phone once right after I got it and the case came in half. I picked it back up gently, bridge it back together and pop it back together. It still worked.

I bought the basic plan which is the cheapest one. I get 300 minutes of texting and 300 minutes of phone. When I get to the end of a month and I got 200 some minutes left, they don't give me that 200 minutes and send them over to the next month but it carries 100 of it though. Now, I got 500 minutes on the cellphone and 500 minutes of text messaging. If I ever go on a long trip and need to use it, I got lots of minutes to talk. It's been a great deal for me and the price has been right.

I'm slow when it comes to getting into the phone stuff like I was slow getting into computers but I had to do it for my business. When I leave my job, I have a landline where I can transfer my calls to the cellphone. I do some service calls once in a while and when I'm out, I can always call back to the shop. Also, I take the phone with me as a backup phone and for emergencies when I go to see my kids living three states away. But there was a time when I put my car in a snowbank in Christmas time up on almost at the top of a pass and I had no reception. That's the first time and the only time it happened.

In addition, I cannot seem to find a screensaver screen to put over my phone. Every place I went to, they find one they can fit and then it doesn't fit. I tried local stores but nobody seems to have that screensaver to put on it. Also, the amount of time that I use on the phone causes the battery to go down. When I'm traveling and the battery gets down low, I can plug it in my cigarette lighter and turn it up again. But companies now have come out with solar-powered batteries. Why hasn't Jitterbug come up with one where you can simply put the phone under the desk and it automatically charges? But other than that, I've been happy with Jitterbug since and I've recommended it to three or four people.

I don’t think a person of my age should have to worry about having to do so many things to turn the Jitterbug Touch on. When you turn on the switch where it comes on, you still have to go down to the bottom of the screen and touch the big circles. If you’re in a hurry and you have an emergency, by the time you get all of that done, it takes too long. Also, the scroll on it is not large enough. I thought it was going to be the kind that you can enlarge and you can go ahead and see it easily. People at my age group that have eye problems are not satisfied with that size.

My niece sent for a Jitterbug Touch and she liked it so I figured I would buy one. The price was better than a lot of the other phones. Other phones do a little more but I wouldn't want to pay $400 for it. I bought it especially for emergencies. I keep my Jitterbug in my purse but I got the bigger one so my purse is heavier. I carry it because I travel alone and in the middle of winter, I don’t want to be stuck in the field trying to get my car going, or go shopping and be stuck in the parking lot when my car doesn't start. Being a single woman, I need somebody to call. I have AAA but if I don't have a phone, I can't get them either. I'm 80 years old and I can do everything that a 40-year-old could do, but I still don’t want to be stranded someplace without help. With the Jitterbug, I feel safer.

I've made three phone calls since I bought the phone and I enjoy the idea that I've got it. I have not had any problems with it too, but I'm really wasting the phone because it could do so much and I'm not using it. But I will and I'm gonna start using the camera too. I've got a cat and my sister hasn’t seen it. She told me to take pictures and send them to her. But I told her, “Yeah, as soon as I learn how to use the stuff.”

The Jitterbug comes with the best instructions and when my niece called their customer service, she said she had a lot of cooperation so that makes a big difference. They don’t think you're an idiot because you don’t know how to do something. All in all, it is a reasonable appliance to have with me. In an emergency, it could save your life for that little a month. But the next time around I'll get a smaller one. A flip top one might work better. The one I have now is my first phone and my niece told me to get it until I learn how to use everything. She added that a smaller one is sometimes harder to see and work on.

I was tired of land service and I decided to use Jitterbug Touch. I didn’t want to get a cell phone but my sons and my daughters said I should have it. So, I got it. It serves its purpose. I’m 84 years old and I don't play any games. I like my phone and I like the service. I only use it when I have to make a phone call. I talked to the customer service rep and they treated me good and it was all fine. They helped me so I could work with the bank and take out my check so, I won’t have to worry about the bill when due. I wanted to get a copy of the bill so I’ll know that they got their money. And if I have any problems, I can call them. I wanted to have proof and I had them send me a bill. I would recommend Jitterbug. I have a beautiful service with them. I have no complaints with it and I haven’t had to call anybody for service.

I was having some difficulty on the regular cell phone. I’m old, the mid-80s, so my wife decided that this Jitterbug would be easier and I’ve enjoyed it. It is easier than most of them and more logical, for some reason. When it comes to price, this device is a little bit less and within the range compared to the cell phone. Their customer service is excellent. I don’t contact them very often but if I got into a function, I phone them and they cleared it up. I don’t use the Jitterbug a lot but I do contact relatives in coastal cities here in California. I use it at a fair amount of time and sometimes over serious matters like an accident. Overall, the Jitterbug is logical, it has a working order that’s not too difficult to master and I’m very satisfied with it.
