    DO NOT GO WITH HUGHESNET!!!! I have paid $70+ per month for internet that is absolutely useless. I can’t even attach a photo to an email! They have stolen and lied to me for two years, and now that I have switched services, they want to either charge me $100 to uninstall the dish from my roof (which they installed for free), or $200 to keep it. They have been nothing but a pain, and have skeevy business practices and horrific customer service. Just don’t. I have never felt with a worse company in my entire life.

    I remember years ago I had AT&T dial up internet, it was so slow , I hated it. Hughesnet has proven to be much worse.     No internet. Got on today then stop working. Went to phone hotspot. Had to do some bills. Hasn't worked because snow on dish and ice. Hope it starts working. Have bookworm to do. It is getting really unreliable, getting worse and slower. My husband had phone set on house internet and could not get on since last Saturday. The router was lit up so keep telling him he must be doing something wrong. Did not try my computer over the weekend.

    I am so mad and upset at trying to get someone or something to recognize my input of information to locate my account.     Since day one, I haven't been able to see a full Disney+- YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix picture. That's because it start loading for 3-8 seconds and can see about 15 seconds of a movie. For that same reason HughesNet sent a tech to install a new one. I had the Router changed, radio and still same issue. I connected a LAN-cable, now suggested me to buy a new cable, even though the one connected is new from the package. Got HughesNet to enjoy the mentioned apps!!! I have tried all, turn off-on router/tv, wait 30seconds, a minute, wait 5 minutes. And nothing yet, yesterday the tech ask for me to wait 24 hrs since installation. Right now I have been awarded 13 tokens. Will at 1pm today after the 24 suggested new waiting.

    I've been with them over 6 years. The installation was bad enough the repairman who came to repair the service called the office to complain about the previous install. He didn't have time to fix it so two more people come to fix it and yet still sitting 3 feet from the modem I get connection drops constantly. I've called tech support to have it fixed or come get their equipment. Still waiting. Bill has gone past due so I call to get it repaired. Now I get bring my account current before they can do service repair. I said I'll pay my bill when the service works as advertised. Still nothing. So legal action is next.     I was told this would be high speed Internet when I signed up. I explained I needed this service to conduct online school classes that were upcoming. Not only was it NOT high speed, but it was painfully slow. Couldn’t load video slides at all and barely loaded slides in a timely manner. So I dropped the classes and canceled my service. I have called in multiple times and am told to turn off the modem, turn it back on, how many lights ... same thing over and over and it's still the same answer. No the internet light is not on.     I used All Connect to get home phone tv and internet. The technician at first was very nice but changed after I told him I did not like having the modem and box with all the cords plugged into a extension cord and I wanted my phone to be in the kitchen. He left my home leaving a tangled mess of cords in my living room. I did not get a phone number or instructions how to use internet I told him to stop installation and remove everything I am out $80 and will be charged a months service as they are cancelling but not until 2/28/2021.     I live with my mother and uncle. Both are over 65 and disabled and are on fixed income. We have been using Hughesnet for over 3 years now. We purchased the 50 GB package that cost us about $160 each month. We each have a phone, one iPad, 1 laptop, Ps4, 2 desk top PC's and a couple of firestix. Within 2 to 3 weeks our data is gone. I dont know what's going on but it doesn't seem like we should be using up so much data. I have 5 GB of data on my phone and I sometimes use it as a hotspot and it last longer than their 50 GB plan. It just feels like we are being robbed each month!

    Just so you know I have been treated horrible by more than one of your representatives. I would never recommend your internet service to anyone. I have had nothing but issues since the second month of service. I have called, messaged, emailed and had complaints with my service that have gone completely ignored. I have called with issues about data consumption since the second month. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING YOU ASKED ME TO DO. Including changing my password, adding Norton 360 security and had my system shut down up to 4 hours to see the router is constantly consuming data with nothing hooked up to it. I was told some much stuff I at a total loss. I have wasted my money. I have a 2 year contract that I will be getting a lawyer involved in to solve this problem in court since you constantly ignore the situation. I pay my bill and I expect the services that were guaranteed.     Was required to choose 1 star but this is way too generous. They need to have a negative rating system. We chose Hughes because there are only about 2 or 3 other companies that offer internet service in our area. My wife and I both work from home and the salesperson said we would have no problems. After 2 days, my wife has to drive over 200 miles to her office because the internet is too slow for her to work from home. The only thing these idiots would offer is a reduced monthly amount but would not let us out of our contract. We are unable to stream because it keeps buffering so the only thing we can use it for is email and we have to find another service. Hughes is worthless. If you have any other options, don't even think about using them.

    The internet connection was checked, the red button on the box was pushed, then 2 stages of checking was done. This was done twice the unit was unplugged. This has not worked since our service began in October. Error message 927 comes up every time. I’m missing my favorite shows. Very disappointed no one seems to be able to fix the problem.     Hughes Gen 5 is a serious downgrade from their previous Gen 4 service. In Gen 4 I could stream HD video at 1080 without a single problem. I now have trouble streaming at 240. Yes, their download speeds are better but everything else sucks. System latency interferes with almost everything I do online and for the price you pay they have terrible bandwidth allowances as I can go through a month's allowance in a single day.

    Did not have any WiFi for 22 days due to a problem with my dish. I was sent out a new modem which did not work so the tech reinstalled the old modem and it worked great. Alex helped me with the billing issues but was unable to give an acceptable resolution to the sending back the old modem that is now in use. Alex did try to help resolve my issue but was unable to change the modem back to operating system.

    My problem was never with the modem and in the very beginning I kept trying to get a tech out as I KNEW it was the dish. The location was a 15. Once the dish was fixed everything worked fine. So I am still very unhappy with the decision. So I will be forced to pay an extra $100 as I am not sending back my modem which is working fine plus the $100 fine for a tech coming out to fix the dish. The tech is the one who reinstalled the modem that was not broken. He was great also. Yes I am an unhappy customer but Alex did give excellent service.

    Recently our internet was disconnected for over 24 hours for some reason unknown to Hughesnet tech service. A service repair was called in which was not needed as the internet service returned before the service personnel had to come to our residence. However, it would appear that Hughesnet troubleshooting service could not help correct the problem which would have cost 125.00 dollars for something which seemingly corrected itself. This is unacceptable as well as the cost of Hughesnet service rising each month which has almost doubled within the last few months. If this continues this household will have not alternative but to switch to a different company who does not increase service costs without notification or approval of the service recipient. I encourage Hughesnet to review policies and improve customer service. I would appreciate a response to this review and comment.

    Do not buy if you have other choices. I get no upload mps and barely 2 mps download. I found another internet provider that is cheaper and leaps and bounds better than this horrible service. I had to choose this service when the COVID locked everything down because no one else would install. Now they want to charge a termination fee after I have already explained that I cannot afford $75 a month. So this company thinks charging someone $300 is the smart thing to do. I cannot afford your monthly fee, what makes you think I can afford your termination fee? Then they will charge another astronomical fee if you don't return the equipment, but provide no instructions on how to return the equipment. This company is only interested in gouging its customers. Talking to someone on the phone is ridiculous, they don't speak English well enough for me to understand them. I've had enough of corporate America. I want off the train.

    I have never in my life experienced so many problems with a company. For starters the internet was horrible. The company never checked the satellite to inform us that it was off. The technician that came out let us know that all our data was being used just for buffering. So the extra charges I had to pay was thanks to the company for an Internet we couldn’t even use. Every single month I would be promised a price that was supposedly written down in notes and every single month they over charged me. They stated that they would put a credit on my account to be taken off towards the next bill. They never did that. And when I would call they would say it was not in the notes. Every time I had to ask them to re-listen to the recordings since none of the employees know how to actually take notes.

    After almost 2 years dealing with this we terminated our contract earlier because they could not provide service that we could use. My son could not even do his homework. They told us they would waive the termination fee because they could not provide us service that actually worked. The manager even apologized to us for all the issues we had. Now they keep sending me bills for the termination because it was not put in the notes. Instead of actually listening to the recordings where they can clearly hear that they were not supposed to charge us. This company is filled with false promises.

It turns out you needed my red off roof antennae. I called back for return box and refund of charges on my credit card. Agent stated I waited too long.     I cancelled my service months ago. I requested the return box for the equipment. It never came. I called to inquire why. They had the wrong address after I called to change it years ago. She proceeded to tell me the box was sent twice to the address I provided her. The rep was still being rude.

    Further investigation finds that the second box was undeliverable and the first was cancelled. The second box was undeliverable because they have the wrong address. Even after I had them change it a few times. The rep. said she changed it now and should be getting a new box. Then I call back. I still don’t have my refund. This time the rep was nice and helpful. They suggested that I send it myself. Then I get an email and where the account number and name and address is located, guess what, the street address is still incorrect. So I have to send it myself and get charged for that, plus the $318, and the overdraft fees. I would like all my money back please.

But I was not pleased with the way HughesNet tried to back out of the agreement we made on service call. I was told that if equipment was replaced NO CHARGE. But there was a service call fee of $120.00. I ask if that fee could be reduced because I couldn't afford that much. The rep gave me a %50 discount. When I got my next bill I had been charged the full $120.00. I had to spend 40 min. on phone getting it straight and still have to wait till next bill to see if they got it straight. I have been a good customer since 2004. You people are not my only internet option anymore and if this cannot be resolved to my satisfaction I will be going to another service.

    By making withdrawals every month it is allowing hackers to access my Master card numbers. Amazon was charging me for something, $13.67 and I have done no business with Amazon.! Since Hughes is the only one with our credit card number, we feel this has to be eliminated. I'm not wanting to pay $5.00 a month for your negligence, but I don't want hackers to have this opportunity of getting my credit card number. Our phone service with ATT was much better than it is with Hughes. Consistently when I dial a number I get a busy signal. By hitting the re-dial the call goes thru. People keep telling me I am breaking up and they have a hard time understanding our conversation. There is room for improvement. Ken

    I loved my service with Hughesnet, but I moved away from the vacation residence and don't plan to be there enough to warrant the service. I tried to cancel the service on Oct 26, but the rep talked me into keeping it through April, promising no charge at all. Against my better judgment, I agreed. Then I found a full charge had been taken out of my checking account. I had to call back and go through the whole thing again, this time not to be talked out of cancelling the account. After this I did a live chat to see about returning the equipment, was assured that my equipment is not to be returned. I have the ref #s on all these communications.     I can do a WiFi test and it shows excellent. That’s not true. I could not access my credit union account nor can I verify if payments that I may have processed, when using my WiFi. I have a WiFi booster from Hughes and I still can’t order or watch Netflix if I wanted to. You call that excellent. You also never inform people during the install that you have to pay for technical support. You tell me to contact Geek Squad. Really? If I did pay for your technical third party agreement then I’m doing all of the technical work and you're just sitting down as you guide me on the phone that gets no signal as I’m in a very rural area. So, actually you should be paying me for the work I’m doing for you. Highly disappointed.

    We have had a known connectivity issue for months. It started shortly after installation. We are unable to make calls as we live in the country so we have a wifi booster. It will not work if the internet doesn't. Hughes net told us on two occasions they would send a service tech. This last occurrence we were told we would hear back within 24 hours. I advised they should just schedule a service call and email us since we can't receive calls. No reply has been received. I attempted to chat with the residential department to simply ask for an email from a supervisor in the small business department. Alexandra ** refused to reply and left me on chat. I have a job offer contingent on connectivity speed which I need expedited help with. I may lose the offer if this is not handled in the next few days.

    I made a one time online payment with a debit card. Because I was behind a payment they took two payments. I did not authorize two payments. I called and was told they could not refund the payment because it was owed. The next month they again deducted another unauthorized payment. When I called I was told I was on auto pay. I am not! Again I was told they couldn't refund my money because I owed it! It was not authorized and I did not request auto payment.     I call all the time about my slow internet. I was told that I could get better internet from 2:00 am till 6:00 am, but that is not true. Sometimes when I call the service improves for a few hours but then goes back to being VERY slow. Sometimes the technician just tells me that there is nothing he can do. I have been told that if I have a problem with slow internet I should direct my complaints to Youtube or Twitter.
