Hughes Net has not given me the service that was expected. Hoping that solution Thomas gave me will help my terrible internet. Please don't tell me it's great service between 2AM-6AM. That is unrealistic for me.

Poor streaming to tv. Very patient and knowledgeable. He waited while we had difficulties connecting to the internet. Also taught me how to monitor my WiFi.

Total incompetence so dropped after misdiagnosed modem not transmitter. Waited two weeks w/o internet for modem. Not the problem. Sent back modem next week returned transmitter etc. Gave me hard time after I dropped them. Dec 2018 said I didn't return equipment. Called 5 times to straighten out I returned equipment. Finally confirmed. Said would close my account late Dec 2018. Now billed for non return of equipment. $134.06 Feb 2109. Now said they will refund back only $125! Ripped off. Put future stop payment via my bank. Absolutely hellish. Every time I called was given misinformation. Total incompetence. Internet not fast, if a cloud in the sky it failed. 100% better service now. Fast and customer service competent via landline. If you want pure crap go with HughesNet. Totally disgusted and ripped off!

I am in a 2 year contract, nearly over thank God. I pay $70+/mo for 25-30 megs of speed at 10 gigs of data, 50gigs between 2am and 6 am. It is now 2:20 am and my download speed is at 1 Meg, 1/30 of what they promise. After my data is used, I am supposed to get 178 kps download speed. I am lucky if I obtain dial-up speeds. For two years, I have been getting ripped off. Please do research before getting this service. IT IS HORRIBLE!!!!

I recently had HughesNet installed in my home and I am very happy with my experience. The installer was fabulous, the equipment takes up no space at all and the service has been great!!! I will definitely tell my friends and family that HughesNet is way to go!! Thank you so much!!

I couldn't barely understand the person on the phone. After multiple failed attempts to fix my modem you want 135 dollars to send a technician to fix it. The Internet sucks to begin with. It never works and is very slow. I feel I pay 85 dollars a month for internet maybe 15 working days out of the month. I am very dissatisfied and want out of my contract. I'm sick of paying for nothing and can't afford to pay for a tech.

I was not notified the cost of your service would be higher after the contract period, and was upset when I was billed 20.00 more, and told the agent, if things did not change, I was shopping for a different supplier. She put me on hold, came back and said my bill would be dropped back to what it was prior to the added $20 and the $20.00 would be taken back off.

The installing technician destroyed one of my retainer walls and didn't want to put the router where I wanted it even though the cable was already in place. That tells me you don't care about your customers and your service is extremely slow. The technician also left a sign in my yard without permission... not okay.

Signal is bad during the day. At night the Dugan is fair. Some stations are received a little better than other stations. Talk to Technician and he got the signal better than before for about 4 hours. Signal is unacceptable right NOW. Very very disappointed.

Today, it is snowing and the HughesNet service, does not work! No internet for Computer and no phone service. I do not have a Cellphone and if an Emergency ? I would be, out of luck and would be desperate. Now...I need to, develop another plan, as a cellphone or landline, for phone service, at this time. No notice or warning of this problem with weather, the snowing...causing, out of service, for both: Internet for Computer and Phone service. What do other, clients do when, Snow or the 'weather'...cuts off service?

Our wifi is slow and when trying to watch Prime or Netflix it is constantly stopping and starting. A 2 hour movie will take almost 3 hours or more to watch. It really gets annoying when it stops in the middle of an important happening scene.

It started out when I called the number for support 1-866-347-3292. I WAS REDIRECTED to some service that wanted me to give quick surveys for free products. I`M HAVING INTERNET PROBLEMS. THE LAST THING I WANT TO DO IS A SURVEY. I call that number twice thinking I dialed wrong. ANYWAY I logged on to my account and tried to explain my problem through chat and was disconnected. I got a phone call right away from a service tech. Yay problem solved. I could not understand a word she was saying. I mentioned that to her, and she just continued on. There was some important information she was trying to tell me but I could not understand her. I`m going to try again today because I still have the same problem and from what I gathered it`s something I`m doing wrong.

Had their service for 6 months. Service was poor every month. 0.58 mbps consistently. Until you call in then they try and walk you through this whole reset process. Run the test and it all of the sudden runs at 35 mbps. Only to slow back down within 24 hrs. Called on this numerous times with the same result. Then found another internet provider and call in to cancel service only to find out 8 days later they direct drafted my account $340. Called into dispute the charge and they said they cannot reverse it because it's part of the contract. Also apart of the contract is minimum speed of 10 mbps (which is horrible) and that never happened. When I explained this to the supervisor she just kept saying, "Sorry. We already charged it." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I had HughesNet installed in Kingman Arizona for 2 months before having it removed due to extremely poor performance. The send and receive speeds which were supposed to be 25 MHz were rarely higher than 2 MHz. HughesNet then proceeded to charge me $385 to remove their equipment and cancel their service. I now use a Verizon hotspot in my home for $20 a month which works wonderfully well.

Your TV add brags fast service. Not so, it’s the slowest I’ve ever had. When I went with Dish, the brochure said tv and internet for $89.99 a mo. Not so! No one told me I would have 2 of those big discs in the yard and that there would be separate billing. Now I’m stuck with this arrangement for 2 years? Bad business practice and I hope no one asks for a recommendation.

I'm still having issues with losing signal. In the course of one show I've lost signal over 10 times, last night I dropped signal about every 10 to 15 seconds at different periods of time. If you cannot provide me with the service I was promised and paying for then I need to cancel and find a company that can.

Most nerve-racking 3 hours ever with IT people. 3 of them. Could not understand their accents, they were short with me. One would not give me her ID number or connect me with her supervisor. The phone signal is crisp and clear and the internet is fast. The technician was prompt, professional and thorough. There is no waiting for internet boot up since the system is always on and the signal is strong everywhere in the home. Recently had my internet service with HughesNet upgraded when they helped me to diagnose that my current modem at that time was not operating properly. Customer service was very attentive and knowledgeable of my request. The technician who come to my home to install the newer style equipment was professional and courteous.

I was skeptical after having had a bad experience with Verizon Wireless Internet. My cable bill keeps going up a few dollars every few months. I have satellite radio, satellite TV, and now I have satellite internet. I am so happy I could scream! Download speeds are normal and comparable to my cable co. which claimed a 4x faster speed. Data usage is so minimal even though I stream shows and videos a lot, usual internet browsing, etc. GO SATELLITE for your internet service! Trust HughesNet!

My installation experience was excellent. The technician was prompt, courteous, and could not have done a better job connecting me to the network. And that is when my experience happiness ended. My service, regardless of the 'speed' is slow. Watching videos is miserable and live feeds impossible. 'Buffering, buffering, buffering, 10 seconds of video, buffering, buffering, buffering. I am so very disappointed.

When I called for service the person I talk to lied to me when he said I could bundle with Dish Network. At the time I didn't know this, he assured me that Dish and HughesNet worked together to get their customers the best price. To say I was upset was an understatement! However I called back and spoke with a supervisor named Dave (from Texas) who was nice and respectful. He also gave me a discount so at the end even I was lied to in the beginning Dave help me out.

The speed has not been as impressive as I expected, similar to Consolidated Communications. Occasionally I get a blink, the connectivity is interrupted before returning to service. On the plus side I did get tech service for my TV and Roku even though I had not purchased the service plan. I did not have the correct HDMI jacks on my TV to connect my Roku and DVD when the installation was completed. Had the technician doing the install explained that to me, it would have been helpful.

The ping was always high, 650-2500ms. The ping needs to be improved to at least less than 200ms. The service technician said that a ping of 600ms was the best I could get.

Thanks for the great signal. So far, so good. Only 2 stars because I wanted to install the dish on the roof. Installer refused to do it. Now one of the best views out of the house has a big dish in the middle of it. I mean right the heck outside the triple window in the master bedroom. Geez. My wife had a fit. She's still mad. No doubt you guys will be gone as soon as an alternative arrives.

Dish sold this service. They told me it was 25 megabit service and that would be sufficient. I couldn't even watch a DVR movie. Stopped every 2 minutes. My wife could not do conference calls. I called Hughes to disconnect. They would for $400. Customer service is terrible. These Philippine service people are not qualified. I am considering calling BBB if I don't get resolution.

He did a good job installing the modem and such, but had limited knowledge on how to make it connect to the TV. It took a couple days of searching and a call to customer service to get the remote aligned with the internet. (We are not computer techy.) That was a little frustrating, but otherwise, it was ok.

I called 12/20/18 to cancel the internet service. I was given a confirmation number and told they would send a box to return the equipment. On 2/4/19 I still had not received the box and was told that the service had not been cancelled. At the end of the cancellation process (again) I was told they found the earlier cancellation and I would receive a box by 2/13/19. It is 2/17/19 and I have not received the return box. I was told there is a $300 charge for equipment if not returned timely.

Salesperson guaranteed ability to stream movies, however immediately after installation received error messages that band was too low for streaming. Called to cancel service the next day. Was threatened with a service fee of $400 to cancel. I now have holes in my roof from the Dish attachment, no service, and a whole lot of hassle. Spent an hour on the phone trying to get the service canceled. Horrible experience.

The internet service is not good. We can't stream anything without constant freezing while watching anything. The speeds were below 20 MBS. The service is overpriced and for the amount of data on the plan, which we were not told there was a limit, we would only be able to watch 10 days of TV before we would need to purchase additional time or the speeds would reduce to a point where it would be useless. It's no wonder that we had to get locked into the service for 2 years with a huge penalty if we canceled. This experience was a total waste of money.

Living up here I was counting on my internet service to be able to use my cellphone to make WiFi calls. Being a satellite, I’ve found this to be impossible, the delay due to the time it takes the call to go up to the satellite and then back to your caller, creates such a delay that a conversation is impossible. My kids live 8 miles from me and use another provider for internet and they have no issues using it for their WiFi calls. I regret signing a contract.

It’s too slow and the reason I got HughesNet for faster internet but my cell phone is still faster than yours. I have AT&T but not very good where I live but I was wrong. It’s still faster than HughesNet. Want to cancel but now you want to charge me 400$ to cancel. But your customer service it’s an A plus.

Unfortunately, this did not work for us. First, we blew through 10 gigs in less than 4 days. Then we were unable to stream. My wife was unable to video chat with her clients. However we were able to pay bills, and that was about it. The buffering was what did us in. The WiFi is not very reliable unless you're in the same room.

We don't have the speed we should and no one ever called back to help us when a ticket was out into engineering and I am stuck in a 2 year contract. Will never recommend.

So far the service is pretty good, however, I did call customer service last week because the show I was watching was buffering every 10 seconds. Georgine helped me by rebooting the system and then it worked better. She suggested I reboot every 2 weeks or so. This is our first month as HughesNet customers.

I have been told it would be fixed by March 8 however I am also being told that the only fix is to move from the echo 17 to the echo 19 and so it needs to be fixed now!!! Little to no service every evening, just BAD business.

Slower than I expected. I am so dissatisfied with this service. After calling to cancel the service the rep kept trying to talk me into keeping the service. I kept it and now I feel stuck in a service that I don't want.

The internet slows down in the evening and at times I am not able to stream the TV even though there is only two of us and one of us is only browsing. During the day the speed is fine, but when I turn the TV on about 7:00 pm, it is blurry and sometimes it will buffer. Two people I've spoken to have been helpful. One was not helpful and his accent was so bad I couldn't understand him most of the time.

I live in the middle of nowhere. Service is great however I keep getting notifications to check connection. There’s occasional buffering but it’s not an inconvenience.

I was under the impression that this was the best internet to get out here. It says 'high speed' but there have been multiple times that I've had to turn my wifi off on my phone and use my mobile data just to look something up because it took way too long on wifi. It's hard to get a good connection while the kids FaceTime their trucker dad. That's something they love to do and it's become an ordeal. I just want the great high-speed internet that I was promised.

The man that came was nice. It was very cold and windy that day. Dish T.V. guy was here at the same time. Cable for internet wasn't buried, guy tried to dig a trench, but it is only about an 1" deep. The place where wires come out of the house was left with a tangle of wires and it is a mess; This needs to be taken care of immediately!

This gentleman, Was fantastic with me and very good. With me being an older person. He was very nice and took the time to listen to me and explaining so I understood. He help me more than anyone else in your company has in the past. He did not make me run through the so called loops Like the others did because they did not listen and nothing got better with them. The others just said the same thing over and over. He listen and understood what I was saying and help me so much. This guy is really great. Thanks to him I got off phone after talking to him. Feeling better and not dumb. Like most of your employs made me feel. This is the first review I have ever wrote. Because he is the only one I feel I should send a review on. I could almost literally sleep between pages/sites. It is slower than the dial-up that I had 20 years ago. I will make voice complaint on 2/18. Thus far I am extremely disappointed in speed. It is so slow that I am unable to stream even local news. As a matter of fact, I just attempted to send my complaint but got an error message from Hughes!

I hate the quality. Very slow for watching Netflix and streaming things to my cellphone. Paying way too much for something that is very poor. But it's the only service here. But believe me when something new comes in I'll drop this so called service fast.

I'd had HughesNet for 10 years then changed thinking I could get a cheaper internet service. After 2 months I contacted HughesNet to reconnect. They were extremely helpful and gave me the promotion going on at the time. Two days later someone was out putting the equipment up and got it running! I learned my lesson!

Overpriced, speed of internet just junk. Called and complained about data usage. They wanted us to buy more, tried to cancel. Was unaware of 24 month contract, because nothing they tell their new customers are correct from cost to contract. So disgusted they're allowed to treat customers in such a bad business fashion. The sad part they are the only internet company that covers our area, and they're taking advantage of people because they need internet service, not sure why a company would want to have a bad business name instead of a good one where people want their services. And praise their customer service for the great job they're doing.

This service is a JOKE! Maximum 20GB data 8a-2a monthly plan, with upload and download speeds less than 3GB per second. In this day and age, their service packages are antiquated.

Page loading is extremely slow. Download speed is somewhat better than what I had, but totally offset by the terrible web page loading. Haven't decided yet if I am keeping the service.

Satellite was place in wrong area and was told about it. We were told it was going on the side of the house not on top, the tech call 811 to have someone come out to mark the lines for Feb. 4, 2019 but no one came or called, and I get a buffering online which I called about, the Rep was nice and help me for the moment but it still does that. System is slow that I know but when two people are log in at the same time it is terrible.

The internet is very slow. It takes a long time to get anything to load and sometimes I just give up. My daughter has Mesh Net next door and hers is fast. I wonder if there is something wrong with HughesNet. Do other people have issues. I am very unhappy with it.

Excellent customer service, very friendly and knowledgeable technician. Unfortunately the satellite internet is slow and at times annoying. I used to have satellite internet service with another carrier which was even slower. I guess HughesNet is an improvement compared to the previous carrier.

The install went good but I'm really surprised about price. I get $20 off per month for a year with new install. When they said my bill would be $59 I assumed that was before the $20 off... Nope!! $59 a month is pretty ridiculous & in a year it'll be $79. Wish I'd have known that before install day!

We were told that the system would be able to make wifi calling with our cell phones, needless to say the phones work way better with little signal on their own. This is so annoying. Also the "25mps download speed" is crappy! I try to download simple YouTube videos with at least a 4-8 minute delay?? Fast my **. Total ripoff. Would NEVER recommend to anyone.

Mike was the installer who came to our home. He was excellent. It was a difficult install due to Mike had to work outside on the coldest day of the winter. He was very professional but also very kind and courteous. He did an excellent job and we have high speed internet which we are very happy with.

Frequent outages. When attempting to diagnose problems: ping packets (to any public address, say www.google) incur many O (10-30%) ICMP loss. My VPN to the work servers do not connect. My connection to Amazon Prime fails to page load (error code 900). General latency should be O (650ms) and is over 1.5+sec. The router box uses IP 192.168.0.1 which is not called out in any documents that I can find, so that IP conflicts which can be avoided have to be troubleshot (a quick FAQ on your website for new users).

Unable to sign in on any cable/internet/ HULU/ ROKU/ any other options despite numerous attempts. All give message poor internet connection/service, and if continues, reset followed by call internet company if that does not help. We have waited to have adults more computer savvy try but they too are unsuccessful. This is ridiculous for new service!

We have called 2 or 3 times and have talked to sweet people but each time they tell us the same thing. "It will take approximately 5 business days for your account to be activated." We jointed HughesNet on 1/30/19. Our account has yet to be activated I guess.

For a satellite service, it's as good as you're gonna get, haven't had a problem with customer service yet either. Only issues are the ping/ms/server response is VERY unstable compared to other providers of the same kind, and the system checker for the amount of data I have remaining has not updated once so I can only track that via my Windows data tracker which I'm not enthused not knowing how much the company claims I have used since the last company I had service with screwed me over 4 days into the month, and that was my entire reason for leaving them.

Your internet service is not that great. It streams a lot and buffers a lot. I cannot believe how bad it does this around 6 pm to 11 pm. I would not recommend your service to anyone. I'm a dissatisfied customer. Will be going back to CenturyLink.

I chose Hughes after becoming disgusted with Comcast/Xfinity. Ordering on-line was very easy. The installer came when he said he would, and was polite and efficient. I have been very pleased with my internet service from the moment it became active, and have recommended Hughes to my friends.

The speed of the service is not what I expected. It takes too long for movies to load and every time I want to watch a movie on Netflix or Prime Video I have to reload the wifi. It is less expensive than the previous service but still not what I expected.

The salesperson assured me that even when throttled down I wouldn't notice a difference when streaming (the install technician said he doesn't understand why they lie to people like that). It was slower than the tablet I was using as a hotspot as soon as I started using the service. It's cheap enough that it doesn't bother me much, I will just cancel the service after the required time is up.

Speeds were supposed to be 25megs, was only getting 1Meg. Went to cancel within a day or two of having it and now I'm being charged 400$. I ordered internet through ViaSat and the installer said he couldn't use the preexisting lines from Hughes. The lines wouldn't work properly. "Too much noise." I wouldn't suggest Hughes to anyone. On the contrary, I've told my friends and colleagues to steer clear from Hughes if they need satellite internet.

My house has little room for a dish, and the roof is peaked and steep. Yet my installer, Sonny, was absolutely persistent and determined to get my dish installed so we could have service. Seriously, he gave the best customer service I have experienced in my 59 years on this planet. He was professional, kind, worked his tush off, and funny. Our service works great in a remote area where service is essential for safety.

I am not receiving good service. You may refer to case number **. I do not get good service. A technician was sent out. He was very rude to me. He came into the house and told me there is no problem. My computer is my problem. It is a work-issued computer. I have no problems when I use it in the office at work. I only have problems with it here. My Netflix stops every 3 to 5 minutes. I was told when I called to get service that neither would be an issue. They are both issues. I want to cancel and first told I could with no penalty and now am being told there would be fees. Even trying to submit this form my connection was lost.

You can’t even stream a movie without it stopping once or twice because of signal. Extremely slow and if someone gets online while another is streaming movie then neither one can do it effectively. Stuck in 2-year contract now at $85/month. Not happy at all!!!

Pandora doesn’t work on WiFi on phone or on dish and movies buffer while streaming on dish, also Netflix doesn’t work through dish. Facebook buffers also.

I have had this service for over 2 years because it is the only option I have at my second home. As soon as there is another option available, I will switch. Intermittent service, clueless representatives and high cost are all hallmarks of Hughes satellite. Data gets sucked up in 2 seconds so we use it for basic things like monitoring the thermostat and cameras - nothing else. Literally the worst internet service provider ever. Avoid.

I would like to get internet service that I don't have to Reconnect to 3 + times an hour. The only answer I get from Customer service is. "Everything is fine on HughesNet end when it is checked. And we are so sorry this is happening and we will fix it". As my internet drops both my computer and phone drops off the internet. When I go drive to the next town to use my computer to answer to view my e-mail and call about my internet I don't seems to be able to get the idea across I can't use the internet I'm paying for. My computer and phone are both fine on other internets. As I typed this my internet connection has been lost AGAIN!

The Hughes Internet service does not work well in our location. I requested cancellation of the service less than 30 days after the service started. I was told it was fixed and offered a discount to continue the service. The service still does not work for us and when I called again I was (again) told that the tech fixed it and it will work. I have been told that I do not have enough reasons to support cancellation of the service without paying the early termination fee. The fact that we have had problems with the service since the day it was installed and that I have made numerous calls to that effect seems enough of a reason to discontinue the service.
Offering discounts does not make the service work any better. I am very tired of the runaround. We have had your service for 2 months and our very dissatisfied with it. Is this not reason enough to cancel without incurring a large penalty for a service that does not function as intended. I am considering contacting the Better Business Bureau concerning your company and its practices.

My financial institution states that HughesNet account ** received payment for $237.18 from my Primary Account arrival date for this payment was 02/13/2019 Why is the interruption of service page stocking me at my every move on 02/14/2019. The support agents are patient and helpful. But when my internet is so unreliable as to go out 7 times with 30 days. That is not a good product. After the 5th call a technician was sent. He could find nothing wrong with my PC nor the equipment. The next day, it was down again. Totally unreliable for my bookkeeping business and I would never recommend Hughes Net. I am sorry that I ordered it but must keep it until 11/2020 or pay $400 FOR NOTHING.

Hughes Net does not make clear the user capabilities. Even at the highest plan, service was poor. Does not handle streaming along with other devices. Would not recommend Hughes Net for anything but a basic single device such as phone or tablet. They do not make this clear until after you are stuck in a 2 year contract. Very disatified with their false advertising and promotion.
