    I can make calls through my airwave device provided by my cell phone provider but they cannot hear me. I explain to the sales lady that I need high-speed Internet to make calls.     My experience with Hughes Net has been disappointing. The only thing I can do is read text email with images loading slow. Watching Amazon movies is terrible.     Two very bad experiences: Installer Too Much a hurry to check all equipment depending on Hughes Net. Customer Service solved NOTHING when advised that a computer & a TV had POOR Wifi experience ALL the Time. He offered NO Suggestions other than saying "Computer & TV 24 feet away is too far."     I was looking for an internet service that would allow TV streaming and not a the highest HD level. I was told by the HughesNet rep that I would be able to do that with their service. I was willing to pay for their highest tier of service which was supposed to get me 25 Mbps. After the install the tv streaming quality was horrible. It either was extremely fuzzy and had periods of a frozen screen. I did a speed test several times and all of my test results came in less than 1- Mbps. I am going to cancel my service and go to a different provider.

    This service is for my weekend-getaway home. I was recommended to HughesNet by neighbors. I signed up for the service on May 20th, and a technician hooked it up on the 24th. I told the sales representative that my only goal was to be able to stream DISH ANYWHERE through my iPad/iPhone, and watch NETFLIX. He sold me a package, and informed me that it was a prime package, and streaming would be 0% of a problem. For the next 2 weeks, I was unsuccessful in being able to do either of those things. The service kept "buffering", not connecting at all, and cutting off completely if I was able to make a connection, and the picture extremely unclear. I made several calls to DISH, and HughesNet trying to determine where the issue was originating.

    They were each saying it was the other... A 2nd service technician was out to my house over the weekend (which I did appreciate a Saturday appointment so I didn't have to take another day off work) to see if the problem could be resolved. He said I had a bad modem so replaced it, and also adjusted my satellite to a different channel, because the beam it was initially set up towards was a "busy channel" so he directed it towards a newer, less busy channel. We worked through changing passwords, and reconnecting DISH ANYWHERE and Netflix, only to find that the service and picture were somewhat better, but we were still having issues with a clear picture. Netflix seemed to be working fine, but the picture was still not clear; it was better, but definitely not clear.

    DISH ANYWHERE was still buffering at times. The technician informed me that I had an excellent signal, and that HughesNet wasn't really a "streaming" service provider, and what I was receiving was the best I was going to get. He also started talking about data usage on the plan I had, and I was confused because I was never made aware that there was data usage involved, and that could affect the outcome of my service. With this service not being my primary residence, it will suffice. I feel like I have no other choice at this point. The reason I gave 2 stars, and not 1 is because the customer service representatives & the technicians I spoke to were helpful and informative.

    I cannot do my computer work with Hughes Internet. This is horrible. In past years, I have used ATT Internet and Suddenlink Internet. Their services for outweigh this Mickey Mouse speed. I had no idea that I would experience this type of service in Jefferson, TX. I had no problems with speed when I had ATT.Net this same house. I only went with Hughes net because I have Dish and they suggested you. I might as well have no internet as to try to do my workload with this useless speed. I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau. I want out of this contract. I must be able to do my job on this computer so I can bring in income.     Sorry but my experience so far with HughesNet is just “blah”. I went with them as the only option in my new location. I was hoping the great speed they promised would be the case and not the many examples of feedback I heard from others about it being pretty bad. Sadly it was the latter. Also they make you sign a 2 year contract with huge buyout if you cancel. I guess that’s the only way they make money. Hoping in that 2 years other options become available because if so I’m gone.

    Hi, my name is Lena. I was one of your customer until I got email alert from Hughes net telling me that people was on my WiFi stealing my WiFi while I was at work and even at home. All of this happen on the night 05/13/19-05/31/19. That why I had to cut my services off from Hughes net and switch back over to Comcast. That has more security then they.     On May 24th, Joe our HughesNet installer came to set up both satellite internet and a phone line. He did an amazing job and stayed till we were able to port my phone number I want to keep. In the emails and info I've received they said it would take up to two weeks to have the port transferred over. As of today, June 8th, I've received no such correspondence as to when my phone line through HughesNet will be available.

    We had Hughes Internet for 6 days before calling and canceling the service. We weren’t aware that this was a satellite form of internet so our service is very slow and some things don’t even work in our house with their internet. We are switching back to our local service which we had before. Hughes internet did offer to take $15 off our bill for the next 12 months, but why would I want to pay for slow internet. A majority of the time we are home we are running our phones through LTE because it’s so much faster and we don’t have the buffering issues.

    The technician was nice enough, however he didn't take off his shoes, wipe his feet, nor wear protective booties over his dirty boots. He also smoked outside which we do not appreciate. I am asthmatic and the smoke came through the windows. He 'forgot' his vacuum and didn't bother cleaning up the debris left from his work. He also didn't put back the cover to the crawl space. He was not knowledgeable about Hughes Net, nor did he seem competent in what he did tell me. I understand you use outside contractors, I find they are not good representatives of your company.     The site is horrible. I keep getting an error stating that I can't be logged in. I have tried contacting support and i get nothing. This is ridiculous. I can't look at my data usage to make sure I am not going over my limit so that i keep the higher speed (Which isn't that great either my mobile data is better with no data limit and speed is better).     I felt like I was misled as to the difference in speed between my Verizon hotspot and HughesNet. I still use my Verizon in stormy weather. The difference in the speed is on regular days is unnoticeable. I am paying $40. more a month for basically the same service.     I was not told your satellite service was not supportive to gaming. I specifically told the agent what our family needs were. It wasn’t until after installation and system not meeting our needs this was disclosed. I immediately cancelled service and requested a refund and have been told I will get a prorated refund which I think is unfair because I only had service for a day and still haven’t received a dime. This is the worst case of bait and switch I’ve seen in my 63 years. I won’t even mention your agency to anyone.

    My internet was set up 2 weeks ago. Ever since that time, my internet has been very spotty. I’ll be on the computer and the internet cuts out. I have to run diagnostics and it resets my router. This takes about 3 minutes. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal but it happens several times in an hour. Forget trying to stream a video. I’ve been on the phone with HughesNet 3 times with 4 different representatives. A technician was supposed to come today. First they rescheduled my appointment for later in the day, but then they never showed up. Unfortunately I live in a very remote part of Washington and there are not many options for internet providers.

    1 it took over a week for them to get to our house, 2 the internet sucks for streaming which is all we need it for, and 3 our satellite fell off our house due to weather over a week ago and is still hanging off of our house where it will continue to hang until the middle of next week when I’m sure I’ll “have” to be home so that they can reattach the satellite back to my house.     I am extremely unhappy with the speed. I understand that it’s not going to be 25 Mbps during peak hours, but I am regularly testing speeds lower than 1Mbps. Sure, occasionally we’ll get in the teens, but we’ve yet to test 25 Mbps. Even when we turn all devices to airplane mode. We can’t even stream Sling TV nor can we even watch a video online without buffering. And now I’m locked into a contract. At a minimum, I’m going to change to the cheapest plan cause there’s no WAY I’ll ever go over 30gb with speeds like this.

    My internet was down for about 5 days, and had been overly slow for several weeks. I contacted CSR and was put on hold several times while my service was checked. This lasted at least 30 minutes. I finally got the ok for a tech to come out. The tech support in my area called and said a part - high frequency radio - had to be ordered and the date of the tech visit had to be change. When the tech came I was told I did not need this part. He adjusted the dish and reattached securely. I was able to get online briefly and pay bills. The next morning the internet was again not working. I called CSR and spoke with Jim in Phoenix who seemed to know what to do. He readjusted the Modem and router and I now have internet. I do not have a choice for my ISP. It is very frustrating to have to spend hours talking with people that speak hard to understand English and not get anything adjusted. I will be calling billing and asking for credit.

    When I called in my need for repair service I was given a date two days away, Not good. When the arranged time for the service arrived, the technician didn't. Not good, I called Hughes and was told to call the technician. I objected and finally the service rep reluctantly did, Not good. The result was a call from the subcontractor saying Hughes hadn't called the work request in a timely manner and as a result there were no technicians available, Not good.

    I called Hughes again and talked to a very helpful rep who apologized and said the he would talk to the sub while I waited on the phone. Better. He arranged with the sub a new appointment for the following morning. I accepted although I would have to delay my planned departure on a trip by several hours. He again apologized and waived the $125 service fee and reduced my monthly service bill by $20 per months for three months. Good. The reduction was nice, but in no way did it make for the sloppy handling in providing service. I hope the tech shows up as agreed tomorrow.

    I have been experiencing slow service for a couple months, so on 5-19-2019 I upgraded to a larger data package, which did not work, on 5-28 I called tech support and they went through several diagnostic tests and agreed that a tech would be needed. They scheduled a tech for 6-7-2019 between 11 and 2, date was confirmed on 6-6-2019, on 6-7-2019 I received no tech, no call that he would arrive and no text. Called Hughes with nothing but the typical runaround. Here is the kicker, I wanted to cancel my service because they wouldn't help remedy this problem, but the cancelation fee would be 400 dollars cause I just updated 19 days earlier too and would be a 2 year commitment to cancel now.

    When our HughesNet was connected if we were not happy we had up to 30 days to discontinue service without having to pay the disconnect fee. Well. We had a big issue with the customer service person. She told us she had never heard of that before. We were finally accommodated but we had to force our issue. We were not happy about having to do that of course. Finally the issue was solved, as far as I know as of right now. The issue will still be there if we are charged the 400.00 disconnection fee. And, yes we ask to be disconnected within the first 30 days. We disconnected because the internet was very slow and would get kicked off in the middle of our transactions or whatever we were doing.     I am quite baffled by all the 5 stars reviews. Will see if mine is posted... I have had HughesNet for almost two years and am counting the days until my service contract expires. I recently checked my service contract so I can cancel on that day, and discovered the contract date was 2020. When I called HughesNet to inquire about this, I was informed that when I moved last year, the service contract date was reset for another two years. I was never informed of this change.

    It took over an hour on the phone and three levels of supervisors to finally have the last one agree I was not lying, as they were accusing me of, and agreed to reset the date back to 2019. I have been checking to make sure this promise is fulfilled, two months later it has not. I have been in contact with customer service again and they will not agree to keep the promised reset. I have the reference number for the original phone call and yet they will not reverse the final decision. They know I do not have any recourse action that will force the promised change.

    The installer was great, he tried to find the best signal possible and did not give up, we have a lot of trees around here is the forest so it was not easy. The only issue I have is when we have rough weather the internet goes out, that can't be helped so I guess I will get used to it. Other than that, everything is great so far.     I called HughesNet on the telephone. The lady in the sales department seemed nice enough. She started asking all the pertinent questions. To make a long story short, I answered all the questions, even questions that had nothing to do with getting the service. That was a minor aggravation, compared to what was coming! After I gave all the payment info, she said all the info was sent to my E-mail address. I kept checking, but it was not coming thru. She told me it should be in my E-mail. I then got her to repeat my E-mail address back to me. I found that she got the address wrong, after I told her letter by letter, then phonetically, first using military phonetics, then civilian and the address was short.

    I asked her to remove the "A" she put in. She said she could not and she tried to blame me. I used the address for a couple of years, with no one getting it wrong, because it was much easier! I did call another HughesNet telephone number and they were unable to fix that either. Just about canceled, just hope I don't end up regretting this! Next time I will go back to doing my business on the computer/internet, not on the telephone!

    It’s the only Internet available and if I could I would choose another carrier. CenturyLink is 5 miles away and unattainable. With Hughesnet I have had multiple issues of various kinds: miscommunication procedure of installation, when I increased data usage it led to so many errors on their part. I wrote a letter suggesting process and procedure recommendations which led to a call from higher ups who fixed all issues, clerical error leading to service termination, sending a new modem and not explaining a technician would be needed on site to activate.... It seems to never end. However, customer service is improving a bit. I have Comcast at another property and have no problems in comparison.

    I am in contacted with Better Business Bureau. When I got my service I told them my house burned and this address is temporary so the services has to be moved again. I ask if the move was free and service is not going to start for 24 MONTH again. Both time was assured no no charge, no service month be added.     I live in an area of NY that seems to be lost to technology of any kind. I used to have another satellite provider and ended my contract early because it never worked.     I called Mar 19, 2019 to cancel my HughesNet internet one month shy of my 2 year contract. I somehow was hornswoggled into a suspension instead of cancellation, which is why i called to begin with. I told them the reason I was cancelling was I could not afford it anymore and the service was slow at best. They applied some kind of credit to my account and when I called today to ask why my account was being billed they said that they were not charging my account for anything because I had a credit.

    I told them that I wanted to cancel my account and they said they would have to reactivate my account to proceed with cancellation. They proceeded to cancel my account and now they want to charge me $100 cancellation fee. Stay away from HughesNet. They are just like the satellite tv. Once you get in you can't get out.     I tried HughesNet as a part of a package through Dish. As I was on the phone with HughesNet I let them know I was not sure it was sufficient enough for my family because of the speed and GB allotted each month. The sales person told me I could try it for 30 days and if I cancelled before 30 days was up it wouldn't be charged any kind of fees related to cancellation and that I would only be charged for the month of service we used and install. This was an outright lie! We received service on March the 16th. It was very slow and we used up the GB before the month was up. I called to cancel on April the 11th. They were trying to charge me $400 and told me to send back the equipment or pay for it. I argued that when I signed up I would not be charged any kind of cancellation fees.

    They told me after over an hour of disputing this while telling me they have no 30 day policy they would do me a "favor" and waive the $400 termination fee and equipment fee. They told me not to worry about sending back the equipment either and I would not be charged for it. I played for the installation and month of service we used. I told them that they better not charge my card for anything else after I gave it to them because the whole situation seemed VERY shady. I was told on the phone that we were square and our account was closed and paid in full.

    On Friday, May the 24th, HughesNet stole from my bank account $868.25 without my authorization. I was not set up for auto bill pay or anything like that. I used my card with them once which they stated the could charge it whenever and for however much they wanted without any notification. They completely cleaned out my checking account without warning, phone call, or mail. I did receive an email that had no bill attached and all I stated was I owed $868.27. I didn't even notice the email because I wasn't expecting one from them. I accessed my account to HughesNet and saw a bill that was generated on May 15th. They attempted to charge my card the very same day for the whole $868.27. Even if the bill was correct and I owed that amount, which I DO NOT just to be clear, the bill online states it wasn't due until June the 14th however they tried to charge my card the very same day the bill was generated.

    They attempted to charge my card one sometimes two times a day all the way up to Friday May the 24th. I was not aware they were attempting this since the charges were not going through until this past Friday when I unlocked my card and they were able to debit my card for the full $868.27. Needless to say I was livid that they did this after repeatedly telling me that my account was closed and the account was paid in full. Never once did they tell me "Oh by the way, we are going to charge you $868.27 for your loss than one month of service". I was very angry about this and called HughesNet yesterday.

    I was repeatedly transferred to different departments explaining the situation each time I was transferred which was very very annoying. When I supposedly got to the correct department which was the collections dept. I discussed the situation with and told them that the sales rep told me if I signed up with them and it did not fit my needs that if I cancelled before the first 30 days were up I would not be charged any fees for cancelling and only charged for the setup and month we used.

    It was VERY OBVIOUS they did not know what the charge was for and I kept asking them what the details were for this charge of $868 were and they could not tell me. They gave me like four different reasons as to why they charged this amount like the early termination fee, equipment, etc... They also told me they do not offer to charge no fees when you cancel service after 30 days. I told her they told me this when I signed up and I never would have signed up if they did not offer this Luckily I got a reference number when I cancelled showing that they waived these fees and the they come up with something called any early lease termination fee.

    I kept asking them for a detailed copy of this bill where it shows how they came up with the $868 figure or at least communicate it through the phone and they could not/would not do it because I told them the bill online does not show anything. It just states 868 for a charge. I asked them to speak to a supervisor and the woman I was speaking to kept giving excuses to keep me from talking to the supervisor like they are just going to tell me the same thing. I had to raise my voice and get belligerent so the she finally placed me on hold to get the supervisor. She kept coming back and saying they were busy. She came back a final time after about 30 minutes of being on hold and told me that it would be a long time before I was able to speak to a supervisor. I was SO MAD at this point as it was so clearly evident they were doing this on purpose.

    I told them they did not have authorization to make this charge of 868 and I would be discussing my charge with the bank and hung up. I called Bank of America to dispute the charge. Bank of America's wait times yesterday were very long. As I was waiting I decided to Google and see if there was a before 30 day cancellation policy because I felt that they were lying about the fact that they offer no such agreement. Look and behold on their legal/terms of service portion of THEIR WEBSITE http://legal.hughesnet.com/ServiceTermsAndConditions-between-07-01-08-and-09-01-08.cfm, they say they do offer no fees if cancelled within the initial 30 day period.

    Once I saw this I immediately hung up the phone with BOA because of the wait time and called back HughesNet. Once again I was transferred all over the place until I was transferred to to the incompetent collection department. I once again had to explain the entire situation again to the new CS rep. I would like to point out that the reps from this department which is hard to describe but they talk in a very monotone voice and just seem like they do not care about anything at all. This rep gave me the same BS as to why they charged me. This rep actually gave me one other reason as to why they charged me. I once again asked her for they details of the charge which she danced around and could not give me on the phone or in print. I once again told her that when I signed up they told me about the 30 day cancellation policy and that I never would have signed up had I known they would charge me 868 for whatever reason for cancelling.

    She told me once again there was no such policy. I told her it is in print on the legal / terms of service page located ON THEIR WEBSITE!!! She actually asked me for the URL where it stated this. I was completely dumbfounded. It was totally unbelievable that the collections department doesn't know their cancellation policies and where it is stated on their own website. I was speechless but proceeded to direct her to the page I saw. She put me on hold like I had been 1000 times before with this company to "discuss" with her supervisor. After about 5 minutes someone gets back on the phone and it is the first CS rep I spoke to initially. I was so mad my voice stayed permanently raised for the remainder of the time I was on the phone.

    The first CS rep said, "I told you that. The lease termination." She was completely ignoring the page I had given them about cancelling in the first 30 days. I told her she flat out lied to me about this. She was completely ignoring what I was saying and kept trying to talk over me. I kept asking for a supervisor. She wouldn't flat out tell me no but it was flat out obvious at this point she wasn't letting that happen. I had to get to the point of basically screaming to get her to put me on hold just to check and see if I could talk to the supervisor. This is not the most unbelievable part. The part of the conversation that was the most unbelievable is when they returned the same lady that I was screaming at came back on the phone and stated she was the supervisor. I was in amazement how a company the size of HughesNet was operating. At this point I had spent a total of 6 hours trying to get this rectified.

    Throughout this entire ordeal they kept offering me a credit.They would put me on hold to talk to the "mythical supervisor" and then offer me a credit. At first it was $200, the $300, then $400, then when I talked to the phony supervisor she offered me $500 credit. Each time they would offer me a credit they would state we will do you a "favor". This seemed very much a part of their training to say this however I told them they are not doing me a solid when i want supposed to be charged in the first place. I was so disgusted and so sick of talking to these people I just took the $500. I proceeded one last time to find out the details of what these charges were for. She kept stumbling around the question. Only when I became belligerent with the "supervisor" to get answer I think she was just getting tired of talking to me and told me they do not have access to the billing details and that I would have to talk to billing to get the details.

    I was in shock at this point. I took the $500 credit. I just thought to myself why would they offer anything if they did not fraudulently do this? They transferred me to billing who handles the credit. I once again explained the situation AGAIN since the "supervisor" said they can see the billing details. Once I was finished explaining thing and the madness of their customer service he calmly said, "Oh I can pull that up." He seemed very sympathetic to my cause. He pulled it up and said the bill was for 2nd month cancellation. I was like OH MY GOD! I told him I cancelled within the first month. He seemed a bit confused why I was billed and he said he would need to go discuss this with his supervisor.

    Now this entire time I have been on the phone with these crazy customer service reps every time they go and speak to their "supervisor" they come back with an answer that I don't like and when you try to speak with this mythical supervisor that they JUST spoke to they deflect, deflect, deflect. This was no different. The billing guy came back and his empathetic ear changed. He said oh it was an early termination fee. I proceeded to say no, no, no. There was not supposed to be a termination fee. He also said that his supervisor asks where I saw this 30 termination clause. Now it is one thing for a customer service drone not know about what is clearly printed about cancellations. It is a totally mind blowing situation for a supervisor in the BILLING DEPARTMENT not to know what their cancellation policy is. I was physically drained at this point. I had no fight left in me.

    I believe it is policy to just wear you down when there is a billing dispute and along the way offering credit so I guess my 7 hours of time spent on the phone with them was worth $500. I asked the guy in the billing dept if this is a refund of $500 or if they are just going to credit my closed account with a zero balance and of course he did not have the answer to that and would need to transfer me BACK to the collections department to figure that out. I think my BP rose to unhealthy levels during this whole ordeal and dont think my heart could take another conversation with those people. So I said no thanks and that I would wait and see if it went back into my bank however I'm pretty sure they just put a credit on my closed account because when I log in it has a balance of -$500.

    In summary, stay VERY FAR away from HughesNet. If you no choice and have to sign up for their service then dont use your debit card with them for anything like paying a bill or setting up service because according to them they can charge it at anytime without your authorization. I am a pretty easy going person and don't get frustrated easily but this company's reps sent my frustration levels through the roof. I have never been lied to by a company as blatantly as this one. As a matter of fact this is the only company I have ever dealt with that has lied and been so overly deceptive to the point of questioning whether I was being punked or not. They are also thieves and when you call them out they try and barter with you in order to keep from maybe doing a chargeback. I took the $500 in case BOA is unable to retrieve the money for me. Since this is a large company I'm not sure if they will be able to.

    I may have screwed myself by accepting the $500. My advice to anyone thinking about using them is to stay very far away. Otherwise if you cancel within a month you will be paying 868 + one month of service + installation, which amounts to over $1000 for one month of service. I tried to login to my account this morning to retrieve my bill and they have completely deleted access my HughesNet account and have made me unable to access any information about my bill. I believe they have done this to prevent me to do a charge back through my bank. This is so unbelievable the measures they take to steal from people. I would not believe this could happen unless it happened to me personally. This is the most unethical and worst company I've ever dealt with both personally and professionally. This company's business practices needs to be investigated. Please forgive in advance any typos in this review.

    Why did not not access this Consumer Affairs review site before I tried HughesNet???? I was briefly in a rural area where even my Verizon cell reception was practically non-existent. HughesNet promised that they were the solution to that problem, and I desperately needed internet, etc. The few days that I had the service it did not work. I was on the phone with HughesNet constantly, to no avail. They tried resetting this and had me resetting that.... Now this was in October of 2018, and I had spent just shy of 3 weeks in this rural location, and after daily, multiple phone calls I informed them I am relocating back to the city in another state, many reasons why... I would not continue with this service.

    I just received a letter from a collection agency demanding over $700.00. My initial payment to HughesNet was MORE than what they deserve. I believe HughesNet needs to be presented with a class action suit and put them out of business.     Experiencing problems with internet usage and the issue has been ongoing since purchasing HughesNet. There’s a temporary fix and then back to the same issues! Now we are getting lied to. Added Usage not given. Tech person not showing up for days. A gentleman did arrive Friday evening at 5:45 pm and tried fixing the problem. Started leaving, called back, not fixed, tried again and left and the problem started as he was pulling out of the drive again. Called again the next day and was put on hold and then was hung up on after about 5 minutes of waiting. They disconnected the call!!! Problem still unresolved.

    I am so incredibly disappointed. Been on chat 3 times tonight, first two times rep stopped responding to me and left me sitting on chat for 20 minutes, second chat rep didn't even talk to me at all. After introduction on chat for 10 minutes no response, third time rep didn't even talk to be and said I hadn't talked even though I had and then just disconnected and even called and they acted like they could not hear me. Rude customer service, and internet only allowed one device so we have been told. Repeatedly.     10 days ago I have HughesNet service. From the first day I'm calling every day reporting that I do not have internet. You can even be near the modem and the signal does not arrive. Every day your customer service staff did tests, and the results is the same. Today call to cancel the service, and after wanting them to do more tests, I told him that enough of tests, I want the cancellation. It is not price, is that I am not willing to pay a service for two years and be calling every day because it does not work. They bothered and they want me to pay $400 for cancellation.

    I only use it 10 days. The data is the same as the first day. I never got to use it. That is an abuse to the population, to sell a service of bad quality with a contract of two years. For me and my family, it was the worst experience with HughesNet. They opened holes in my ceiling to install the satellite and now they want me to pay $400, they do not comment my mistake, better HughesNet is a stick with a lid of cauldron and a cable. Do not pay for bad services. Now I need to know where I can claim this abuse to charge me $400.

    Wifi is too slow. Cant connect more than one device or it will freeze up. Even when one device is connected (on Netflix) it looses connection. The best connections are at a certain part of the house even when it says it's connected the contents wont load.

    My biggest problem is the fact my husband and I both operate our business and life with a cell phone. We do not have a landline. We moved and now live rural and I contracted Hughes Net to provide internet and the ability to use WiFi calling. This wasn't working on installation and I couldn't get the installation guy to work with me or help me. Therefore after no communication and two no shows from him, I have secured another provider.     The person that set my service up on the phone was great. When I had problems with the service, customer service was nice but couldn’t fix it, only escalate the problem to an engineer who would contact me later. The service magically worked better the next day. People have followed up three times but I’ve missed the call. When I call back it is a very lengthy hold. I can say the service has improved and I haven’t had strong issues with it. It’s better than the last two companies I had at my old house in a big city.

    I had HughesNet installed on April 12, 2019. It is now May 22. 2019. It has been a month of aggravation with this company. Poor communication, deceitful, Poor internet and Phone service. But the topper is lying about my bill and what it would be. On May 13 2019 I received a email bill which stated I owed 88.30. I called and spoke to a agent. I told him this bill was too high, and not what I was told when I ordered this service. So I also said to him, "Is this what my bill will be next month," he went on to say, "No. It will be 109.00." So I called back on May 22, 2019 to terminate my contract. I was told the termination fee was 640.00. WOW OMG. What a rip off. I will be in touch with the Better Business Bureau.

    I called today to cancel our service. We never use it and the internet at our house is poor. It will not stream any videos or movies, our phones work better if we turn the internet off and work from cell service. I called the first time, was on hold 8 minutes, I ended the call and called back. The second time I waited on hold 18 minutes and then when someone answered they spoke so quickly I couldn't understand them, they sounded very far away from the phone and were very hard to understand, they then hung up on me and said they couldn't hear me when I have not had a problem with anyone else I have talked with. I then had to call back another time, waited on hold for 9 more minutes with a different option, someone answered who was pleasant, but could not help me, put me on hold 3 separate times (adding 8 more minutes to hold time) to ask someone else what her resources are.

    After all of this, she said my only options were to wait on hold again for the same line I waited 18 minutes on hold previously or call back another time. I asked to talk with customer service to file a complaint and was told she could make a note, but this was the only option. I have wasted 45 minutes of time trying to deal with this, and made absolutely no progress. I previously only wanted to cancel for poor internet, now I cannot wait to be done with the company as a whole. Unfortunately, I will have to call back another time to hopefully be able to cancel then. I wouldn't recommend the internet service or the customer service to anyone.
