We’ve had HughesNet since January. It’s the worst service we’ve ever had. During the day it’s fine - 25 mpbs. 5pm to 11pm at times less than 1mpbs. Multiple calls for service complaints (50+) to no avail. It is simply the worst internet we’ve ever had. End of the billing cycle I’m getting rid of them. It’s ridiculous.

People are hard to understand and don't get what I'm trying to say. You didn't stand up to your end of the deal and didn't renew my monthly 10 gig data so I canceled your service. I don't feel I owe you the $400 early termination fee.

The Representative was very helpful but your phone system was very, very, frustrating. I was cut off 3 times before I could get help and all I wanted to do is update my information and make a payment. I have never worked so hard to make a payment. Please look into this.

Overcharged, unreliable, customer service is nonexistent. Visit BBB and see massive amount of complaints. Cancelled service and cancelled debit card because they suck money out of account with NO authorization.

Internet was down, weather related. Customer support was very helpful, 40 minutes later restored. Main issue she was very difficult to understand, accent hard to follow. At no time was she rude, impatient nor cross. Hughes Net is one of the worse internet providers I have ever encountered.

No reception on phone calls. My calls keep getting dropped. I've called you today six times and they all got dropped. I'm tired of your service. It does not work plus you have raised it from 51 to 61. Call me if you get through.

It took Hughesnet TWENTY (20) MONTHS to get the name right on the account. For nearly two years, and 9 months of it with "Executive Customer Care, to get correct name on my account. It was a 4 hour fight every time I called. My service has been cut off continually when I don't have a past due - even when I show them the online invoice that says the due date is a month out.
"Executive Customer Care" has taken payments over the phone and doubled it -overdrawing my account. And, the internet speed is ridiculously slow. I have DirecTV and can't watch movies because of Hughesnet. Switching services TODAY and NO, I will NOT pay a fine for canceling before two years. Yes, I WILL be filing a class action lawsuit for their payment processing and not fulfilling a contract, but still locking me into one.

I have not been able to get any password to work. Can’t use my tablet. Please call me as I’m not literate in this tech stuff and my password they gave me on day of installation doesn’t work. The installer set up my tablet and phone. Don’t know what they did.

The worst service ever, was told we would be able to stream 6 devices without any problems but my son can’t even do his school work with this internet, it’s beyond ridiculous. Have to use hotspots on cell phones to do school work... just sad.

I rate Hughes as slightly better than what I had before. It takes too many clicks to go from scratch to my item in the inbox, Once you finally get to the inbox, you have to click on it twice to make it open. The next stip to show display (why would we open it if we did not want to look at it?). When you have a problem, the robot says too much. The little bit about checking my system to see problems, which I do not think they really run tests. Most of my questions have not been systemic problems. Lately when I try to open email like the Patriot Post, HughesNet puts their name at the top of the page and types out in black and white instead to their color. What is the point of this except annoyance? Like I said, your are OK, but you could be better. Thank you for giving me a chance to help you. Russell

Great customer service on installation of satellite phone service. The person had great knowledge on tech help, he was very patient, kind and the time went by very fast. He should get a raise. I was very frustrated at the time, he made my day, thanks.

The people you talk to at Hughesnet are great. The product is useless. Goes through 25GB in 1 day. It will be uselessly slow the next 30 days. Surprising this company is still in existence. They actually put Frontier to shame on the lack of product they have. Frontier, at one time proved to be the worst. Hughesnet now has the title of worst internet service available. Dial up is quicker than Hughesnet.

I have been with HughesNet Satellite Internet for more than 9 months now and it has not worked right since the first time I started using it. They claim there are no hard data limits. When you run out of data they slow your speeds down so far that you don't have any Internet connection at all. Most times even when you do have data you still can't get an internet connection. I have called multiple times and spent hours on the phone trying to resolve the problem and it will be resolved for a few hours then it goes back to the same problem as before. I have also written a letter to HughesNet claiming a dispute and no one has responded to my letter.
I definitely do not recommend HughesNet for your internet provider as they require a two-year contract and that is something you do not want to be in with HughesNet. Make sure you read all the terms and conditions of the agreement if you decide to get in there anyway. It is a $400 fee to cancel the contract minus $15 for every month you have been connected with them. TV shows that are an hour or less most of the time take almost 2 hours to watch. This happens even during the slow times a lot of times in the early morning hours between 2 a.m. and 8 am. Stay away from this company if you know what's good for you.

Called twice today to pay my bill. First person was taking so long I finally had to hang up and call back. Then 4 hours after my second call to pay my bill the first customer service person calls me to have me pay my bill.

My internet is slower than dial-up, I cannot even stream a movie because it is so slow and now I am stuck with it for 2 years. My streaming service times out before it will even load a movie in standard definition.

I Discussed the incorrect spelling of my name and requested a correction. Everyone contacted has been pleasant. However, the reported error has not been fixed yet. I have spoke with more than one person. This seems to be an issue that could be easily corrected. It is also could have been avoided in the first place. Is no one capable of making a simple change, you were successful in making an unauthorized charge to an account. We are reevaluating your service. Do you need any more words for me to describe our dissatisfaction?

From the first month connected, I had problem with sites constantly loading. When I called HughesNet for assistance, I was THEN told I had consumed "allotted" amount of monthly gbs. Disappointment. It was agreed they would fix the problem, however same problem every month after. I am retired, on a fixed income and my TV is on 24/7! For $60 a month, an allotment was not what I needed and exceeded cost elsewhere. Customer service was nice.

Our internet does not often work. That means I have no internet. The internet works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. It is very discouraging when I try to use it. I was excited when I changed to HughesNet but it’s not much better.

Had been happy with 2-3 GB usage per day of normal computer work. Turned on Roku/Sling TV and GBs dropped from 16.7 on 6/25 to 6.8 on 6/26 after 2 hours of TV and now 3.5 at 7 pm 6/27 after 2 hours of TV (with 1080 rez reduced to 720). Hughes told me usage would be minimal with Roku. Not true. I'm furious. Gotta run now. Tank nearly empty.

Very slow Internet service was on the phone for an hour and 20 minutes. Did multiple test on speed and lots of questions. Still did not get the problem fixed. It sounds like it’s our area that does not have good service. Why do you even offer it to us when it does not work.

I had a live chat 9-26-19 and I asked for a copy of the chat. The person helping me with the chat said if I close the chat window when I was done I would be able to make a copy. I closed the window and nothing. I was unable to copy the information or a site to contact to, that was in the chat. I could find no way to relocate the chat. I am really upset with the person I chatted with and the information I was given which was, as I said, included in the chat.

I just want to be able to keep up with family and friends, catch up on world news, be able to search for information on any questions I have, shop for items I may not have access to without a lot of stress. The Installer & Customer Service Rep were great. The reception signal is EXTREMELY poor. You claim faster download w/ gen 5, but it is no better than 2 cans & a string. You have locked me into a contract that you will charge me to discontinue, yet you fail to provide the service that you claim is so much better. My internet at best of times is sporadic. Most of the time it is nonexistent. For the last two weeks I’ve had no internet at all. Calling customer service does no good at all. They are unable to solve the problem. Worst company that I've ever had.

Installed internet in winter with snow on the ground. They said they would come back to bury the line. I formally called HughesNet in June to see when they were coming and and was told that for $125 they will come back and bury line. I called and first spoke with ‘customer support’ who had no idea about what I was talking about. I then asked for a supervisor and was told after 6 mos. it costs. Even though they did not bury the line. The supervisor said they aren’t required to bury on hard ground. I told him that information was not provided prior to purchase nor during installation. The information given to me was they would be back when weather allows them to bury the line.

HughesNet was my only option for internet service where I lived. The product itself is mediocre at best. I paid for the highest level of internet service and the service was not good. When I canceled my service I returned my equipment as instructed. 3 months later I get a bill in the mail asking me to mail a check for $215. When I called to inquire about this bill I was informed that my credit card on file had already been charged the full amount. They said they had not received the equipment that I had returned. Fortunately I had saved my return receipt from UPS and had my original tracking number. I was able to prove that the equipment had been received by them. They still refuse to refund my money. I had to fight the charges with my credit card company. Stay away from them if at all possible.

We had problems the day you installed it. We got it running. Your modem hit the dust shortly after. You sent another. We sent back the original one June 10th via UPS per your instructions. You can't find it? You're going to charge our account 125.00 for that junk we sent back that you can't find? Customer service, have had to call numerous times in under two months. What happened to training? No one knows anything and the last time when our internet was down, we did all of the usual functions to no avail. We called your well trained Rep. who when we told her that internet was down and she put us through all the same paces to no avail, she told us she needed us to get on the internet. Really? IT was down. I see now why my daughter dumped you after one month.

Disgusted with HughesNet. They haven’t sold my slow problem for the Internet. The phone gets disconnected. You sent a technician from Dish here. He sold me another router for $167. It works better but your phone technician said I didn’t need it and to disconnect it. She did a remote reset. Now I’m back to the beginning. I just don’t want you on that anymore. But I refuse to pay which I should not have to pay $10 a month for every month which is 24 for an early disconnect. You cannot provide or should I say did not provide what you say you were going to. I should not have to pay you $240 to disconnect. This is disgusting. I have spent hours on the phone with your technicians. The last one said she would definitely call me back if we got disconnected but she has not.

Just moved so I called to ask where the new bill was and how much it was. The agent who handled my call and questions was Maryann **, who was courteous and lead me around the HughesNet website to register me with patience of an angel. From start to finish Maryann explained the amount already received automatically. Thanks to her, I signed on to my account, saw my bill and can keep track of it all since I am registered now. Internet is slow. Talked to support for 40 minutes, they said it was better than they said it would be. I said was slow. She said she would connect me to tech support, I waited 10 minutes and they hung up on me. Find a different solution for your internet. I will be done as soon as I can get out of my contract!

My wife’s debit card had been violated so a new card was issued. HughesNet was paid monthly from our checking. I had to call and give new debit card #. From there they locked my account twice in two weeks even though it’s paid to date. I mentioned why and now locked out, they have since taken two months with new account info from bank but I’m referred to fraud unit that never contacted me. No service, but they have no issue taking my money each month. And I was told for four hours tonight neither would close my account.

The satellite latency prevents real-time gaming. Fine, not interested. But the latency of this connection is much longer than other satellite plans I've used around the world. There are several seconds elapsing on each page update or change. The speed is impressive, but the actual amount of information that one can research or accomplish is very poor. Many sites time out before they can achieve a result and there is no error to indicate the problem, yet connect with a mobile hotspot for example, even at bad 1-2Mbs speeds and this doesn't happen. HughesNet is less than truthful about actual work-rate.

Buffers All The Time. Can't watch streaming movies.. I'm Paying $75 a month for nothing. I can't watch tv so I don't bother turning my tv on. I would like to get out of my contract. I'm wasting money on your service that don't work and I'm Stuck in this contract for 2 years. I wouldn't recommend your service to family or friends.

Just moved and set up for Hughes and we couldn’t get any service, so I called to see if we could cancel the same day. They did let me cancel, but still had to pay for my whole first month of not using it and set up. Pretty expensive to try something out for one day that didn’t work. I would not recommend them.

Was told my bill would be $9.99 plus taxes monthly while in vacation mode. Bill increased $5.00 the second month (16.78). Russo said he would credit the account. I will believe this when I see it on the account. Russo (Philippines) was very polite and stated credit was on the account. Confirmation number for this action is **. Ask me again in 6 to 8 weeks if I'm a satisfied customer.

The service is extremely slow. I don’t believe I come anywhere close to the speeds promised. I’m locked into a two year contract and if the speeds don’t improve I’ll contact a lawyer to void the contract and get my money refunded.

My overall experience with HughesNet has been excellent! We live way out and could not get any other service contract. I'm appreciative for WiFi, as my family, grandchildren, and guests use it while visiting. I appreciate the cost and service very much. Even the rep. treated me with respect I am not happy. First off I did not feel like I made a difference as a customer. For the most part the guy did not know or believe what my problems were. He ended up rebooting and at first it appeared to that the problem was solved. Five minutes later it was all back to the same. I guess this is as good as it gets with satellite. I am finding a new company.

Had to cancel old card and received new one. First tried to change information online, with Hughes, ended up after numerous tries with a rep. by name of .... She was telling me what to do and I was doing it, suddenly I realized she had control of my computer. As soon as I told her I did not intend to give anyone control of my computer she cut off the conversation.. All of this took much time to pay bill before I got her and then I had to wait when I finally got the number to connect to her. Finally, I went to an old address book I had and found a number which I called, got a gentleman that helped me pay the bill. What a hassle plus don't ever ask for control of my computer in the course of helping me, again! Paying a bill could be made a lot simpler I would think!

i was told I could pay for a tech to come out or I could pay to disconnect early. Disconnect early was cheaper so I did. Now after my service was off for most of the billing cycle, it shows I only have 7.9% left of data. Whom has been using it? I sure as hell have not been. You have problems. I would have not cancelled IF you would have sent a tech for free as today's person suggested she could do. It is also funny that I did not get a survey after cancelling the first time I called in. It is also funny your automated response states "I will check your system and all is working correctly". How is that possible when all is disconnected and sitting in a pile in my garage?

After being given a telephone run around I was finally connected to someone who was sure my dish was out of alignment. He said he would send a field technician to fix it (for a fee). No visit was required as the internet resumed of its own accord.

Sales and Installation service were very professional and a pleasure to work with. We have a cabin in a remote area and the install was more than willing to trail up the hill. For those geographical areas that don't have less expensive unlimited/unthrottled internet options, Hughes is definitely the best choice.

Very slow, it took 1 hour 20min. to watch a half hr. show. Two to three seconds of video then three minutes frozen. After 8: am it took 1/2 hr. to load a one page email. I think you need more satellites or less customers, or maybe better data compression technologies.

Last night I was trying to watch a movie and was buffer 27 times in 15 minutes. If you have Windstream for you ISP stay with them. Also they can pair your phone. When you sign up make sure you know what you are getting.

After discussing what can be done to improve our Hughes Net Gen 5 to 10GB, the agent, understanding our problem, gladly told us about the 2-year extension on our contraction and the 1 yr. of 10GB for the amount we are paying for 5. That was wonderful as my wife and I are both retired and living on less. Thank you HUGHES NET!

After several attempts and several more times speaking with customer service I was once again let down by incompetent employees as well as broken promises. I was promised a booster and then was told I had to pay $99.00. After that a rep said he would call me to check the problem resolution and of course no call.

Constantly fails/cuts out in the middle of any internet usage. Just horrible. It's not cheap and I would never subscribe to this service again. Too bad its years to cancel. Complete waste of money. Not sure what else to say. I understood the satellite delay as expected but cutting out was not.

We were promised consistent unlimited signal except for limited hours od videos from the salesman when we took this service out but it had consistently gotten slower. I hope this is taken care of.

6 MONTHS of inoperable payment website. This latest particular agent MAY have fixed the problem. She claims so, and is the first one of the six that actually tried.. The install tech attached the dish ground wire to the gas line on my water heater. Not only is this dangerous as he could have kinked and broke the line but it will not provide any grounding. See image. The new dish was also full of mud. The rain has since washed it off but not a very professional thing to do.

I continue to have VERY SLOW internet service and continue to be transferred to various agents who all tell me something different. I'm very upset and exasperated. I was told by the sales girl who works for Everett Communications which has DirecTV, Dish, HughesNet and Viasat she con me into getting Dish and Viasat which is a cheaper than what I had. She also said my HughesNet would be taken care of by her company. I can’t get her to talk to me. She lied and I’m very very upset you took 340.00 out of my account which I’m not done yet. I’m going to see a lawyer next week. She was telling me not to worry she would Handle it. I wish I never changed but too late now. The damage is done. The limited data drains even when we aren't online. CONSTANT (not an exaggeration) issues with the phone service portion & FREQUENT issues with the internet. Their initial contact is the WORST & ask idiotic questions & make suggestions that solve NOTHING. It takes repeated calls & requests to get someone with any kind of actual knowledge & half the time I get disconnected during the transfer. When my contract is up I am GONE. The service could not be worse, customer service is tragic & I am appalled that I have to PAY for this each month. Everything that was promised when we signed up was a total LIE. Any more issues & I will be considering getting legal representation to void the contract & find a service that actually provides SOME kind of service!!!!

I got Hughesnet in order to view on demand movies and shows on Dish. It tells me I'm connected and disconnected. I called you, I was told everything was as it should be I need to call Dish. I did. They said all was good on their end. Today Hughesnet calls and again tells me it's not you. I needed to call Dish. Again everything is good on their end. I'm stuck with a 2 year contract on a purchase I can't use. I have no other electronic devices. No laptop, table or computer.

Was installed on the 28 of May. Was intermittent. On the 4th of June no service. They were to be out on Friday the 7th. No show from Hughes. Called around 3:30 that afternoon. Said they would be out Monday. I told you to cancel my service under my right to do so because of time frame. Monday pm here comes your tech to see?? Told him I had canceled Friday pm because no service tech showed up. Your product and service are the worst I've ever experienced. Your man told me I will have the boxes to send your stuff back to you in 10 to 13 days. Once again your service and support are the worst I've ever encountered.

The install of WiFi was excellent. Very thorough and efficient and made sure everything was working before leaving. I would highly recommend Hughes Net. The technician called and texted before arrival and explained what he was going to do, checking all the locations for the best possible reception. He went straight to work and finished within the amount of time allotted.

From the beginning it started slow. The tech told me to give it a couple hours. It never changed. Had to call customer service. Spent an hour on the phone going through the usual checks. Couple things, first thing if you cancel good luck. First they want you to climb on roof and take part off dish or they charge $100 to get it off, so make sure you are able to do that! Second, got that $100 waived (finally) then they told me to give equipment to driver. Ok did that. A month later charged my card again over $300 for not returning equipment. I called them. Magically they found equipment (after a half hour). Think it would be done, no. Now they can’t reimburse me for a month. It is their policy! Had to call bank to stop payment!! Not a fun experience at all!!

The system will shut down as I have reported. Off and on for over 6 months. I have to reboot it to make it come back up. The tech ordered a part and put it on 3 days ago, but the problem still exists. The modem lights are flashing sporadically as never before and it is very warm to the touch.

Voice Service. I have poor to none voice service ever since I signed up with Hughes Net. Today is the last of what I can take. I have a 3 day old Grandson & there was an emergency with him in the hospital and no one could get in touch with me because as it is about 45% of the time, I had no phone service. I expected the best from HughesNet, but was extremely disappointed. The G5 service did not work at all - nothing, nada. The G2 service worked, one page at a time. That is to say that changing to another page (button-linked, or typed in) the screen froze. Nothing, nada. Tech support claimed that the "beam was down," whatever that means, and had no idea when or if it would bring me online. Tier 4 support attempted different settings on my modem to no effect. They offered me a $30/month discount because of the problem. That's great... pay more money for something I don't get!
On the fourth or fifth call to them (all this occurring in a week) I asked to speak with a manager, supervisor, boss, whatever. I was told there wasn't such a person! I asked for the next step up in the tech support department and was told, "cancellation." Wow, that says a lot about technical support! In order to quit, I spent 43 (forty-three) minutes with a person who would not listen to me, and kept trying to tell me to get to tech support. I was livid by the time she finally cancelled me. Worst service ever, from every department! Stay away people!

I called to relate that my husband had canceled the credit card that my HughesNet was charged. I have no credit card so I asked that I be permitted to pay by check each month. After a brief hassle it was decided that I could do so. Great! I then asked to have my date of payment changed to the 15th of each month. They said I couldn't ask for that until my balance was paid. I was going to take care of that. When that is done you can call back and ask for a new payment. The reason that upset me so much was that I am 73 years old and I often forget to do things if I don't do them when I have it on my mind! I wanted it taken care of so I would not have to worry about remembering it! It is not fun to get old and have trouble remembering! P.S. The reason that I can't pay my bill until after the 15th each month is my social security is deposited into my account the second Wednesday of each month. It is always in by the 15th. I'm sorry that I got upset but this is the world I live in and it isn't GOLDEN!

We are very happy with the way Hughes Net is working out... now. At first the free ROKU channel was giving us fits, continually buffering, took almost 4 hrs to watch a 2 hr movie the first night. Our installation tech was very helpful to guide, explain and show us how to get a diff channel to watch that won't have the buffer issue. If it continues, we are to call and request our dish be turned toward the "other" satellite. Still learning all the ins/outs of internet tv, but it is working out just fine.

When I called to ask for this service and product, I was told I was going to get great and fast connection. My son plays on the PlayStation and it’s a poor and slow connection when he plays online. We were told at sign up that there was no commitment. When I went to cancel, they advised it would be $400 to cancel it unless I honored $400 worth of months of charges, so I did this. Then I went to cancel again because we are moving and they now said they will charge $250 for cancellation. The internet is garbage, most the time we had to use our hotspot for internet service. There is no way I would ever recommend this company.

Everyone at HughesNet has been professional and helpful but satellite internet has been a big “gotcha”. Advertised as “lightning fast”, with this service our devices seem like they’re kerosene-driven and often not working at all. Tests indicate we are getting the download speeds we were sold but as non-geeks we had no ideas what 26 Mbps means in terms of using the internet. This rules out working at home or streaming our favorite app. And now we have to live like this for 2 years! 15 days of this service and we’ve not had a single day free of issues because of slow speed. One CSA said it might slow down even more in the evening (it does) when user traffic picks up. Guess what? That’s when we use it too! We love our new house and new town but this is a nightmare.

Terrible internet service. We were unable to stream movies from Netflix, unable to use our iPad to get on the internet. After numerous complaints to the provider (HughesNet) we returned the equipment as directed by the company. It was my understanding that I would not be charged a cancellation fee because the service that was advertised was not the service that we received.

My install was scheduled for the day after Memorial Day, Tuesday May 28, after my call to Sales on Saturday the 26th. The installer called when he was on the way to my home. He surveyed the property and found the best place for the dish to accommodate my need to have the dish in a location where I can reach it to remove snow. Since the install I have been so pleased with the service. It's much better than my previous satellite, faster, and much more download bandwidth available. I am very happy!

The customer service in requesting HughesNet was great. Very professional. Scheduling was the norm, 4 hour block for the technician to ARRIVE. When they say arrive between 1:00 and 5:00 pm, they mean it. My technician arrived about 4:59 pm and did not leave until almost 8:00pm. So not only did I take half a day off from work, I wasted my evening as well. I say wasted because when the technician left, I was told that the system was rebooting and I should have service in an hour. I did have service within that hour, the SLOWEST internet service I have had since I got rid of my dial-up 56k modem. The service on my phone is faster (4G). The fastest I have tested is 22.9 mbps; the slowest is .18 mbps; average is 15 mbps. My phone on 4G averages 25-28 mbps. Should have just stuck with the phone service. Would have been cheaper and faster. Now I am stuck in a contract. Look at ALL options BEFORE you get any satellite internet service.

Hughes net came to install internet at our new home. The worker did not identify herself upon arrival. The worker left trash, pliers, and screws in our gutters. The worker refused to answer questions about the placement of the router box and internet speed matching the capabilities of our new tv. The internet is not fast enough and our new tv is pixelated if we view anything on the internet or through streaming. Worker complained about being late to a graduation (we missed a funeral that day). Generally unprofessional and poor service. Poor service provided by the internet. Definitely a means to cancel unless internet can be up to standards as advertised. Contact us ASAP please.

My installation time was scheduled for 11-2. The installer arrived exactly at 2:00 and it then took 5 hours to complete the installation as he could not acquire a signal with the initial equipment. After the installation, the installer did not verify the speed of the connection which I determined to be less than 1 Mbps (Upload) and less than 2 Mbps (Download). This was reported to Tech Support who verified my complaint on the speed and then informed me that an engineer would be in contact with me within 3 Days? This is terrible customer service given this is my initial contact with Hughes. They take forever to install it, install sub-standard equipment, has unbelievably slow internet speed, and then takes 3 Days to fix their problem?

On Tuesday May 21st I called Dish Network to inquire about getting their satellite tv and being we were getting rid of Comcast Xfinity (which we had both tv and internet through) I also asked if they provided internet service to which the man said unfortunately no BUT THEY DO PARTNER WITH HUGHESNET and if we went with HughesNet for internet, THEY WOULD BUNDLE THE TWO SERVICES AND WE WOULD RECEIVE A $10/MONTH CREDIT FOR DOING SO. He instructed me to call them back AFTER we had HughesNet install our satellite dish and give them our HughesNet account number.
Our Dish Network was installed on Saturday May 25th. I then called HughesNet on May 28th and scheduled it to be installed the following Saturday, June 1st, and called Dish Network back that day (as instructed) to let them know our HughesNet satellite dish was installed and to provide our account number (also as instructed). Well the person that answered said I had to call HughesNet about this so I did and that person said I had to call Dish Network.
The following is the dates and times I have called BOTH COMPANIES trying to settle this bundle issue: Called HughesNet June 2 at 8:33. Called Dish June 4 at 1:00 (the lady told me that I have to call HughesNet and tell them they need to send a “BUNDLE REQUEST” to Dish). Called HughesNet June 6 (told the lady they had to send Dish Network a “BUNDLE REQUEST” and she said that wasn’t her department and she transferred me to internet sales). Called HughesNet June 10 at 11:00 and repeated everything to the lady who AGAIN TRANSFERRED ME AROUND. Called HughesNet June 11 at 3:30 and AGAIN repeated the story to the lady who AGAIN transferred me to the internet department and the man said I have to speak to customer service (who I was just transferred from) and spoke to a man and AGAIN EXPLAINED THE WHOLE STORY who then transferred me to the DISH NETWORK!!!!
Now I have been trying for over three weeks to just get someone from HughesNet to sent a bundle request to Dish Network so I can receive the $10/month bundle credit and I have run out of patience. This email explains everything in detail... My Dish Network account number is **. And my HughesNet SAN is **. My name is Leslie **. Cell is **. I will be sending this email to BOTH Dish Network and HughesNet so someone can finally do the simple request that was told to me initially on May 21st! Thank you very much.

It takes a longer time (compared to previous phone co.) to get online. The modem is large, full of wires and hard to keep out of the way. Rain and wind kills wifi for that bad weather period. I should have chosen Armstrong.

When I sighed up for internet I told your people that I wanted a paper bill each month. You agreed to that and to waive the 5 dollar a month charge on my bills it states a one time charge. You have been charging me each month. Not what you agreed to. Not happy with this charge. Will look for other internet.

My internet service was installed and activated on 5/25/19, but the voice service wasn't activated until June 11th. I just think there should be a faster way to get service when a person wants to keep their phone number. I don't know what the delay was but I have both services now and so far I am happy with things. Thank you.

Paying for 25 Mbps downloading speed, lucky if I reach 1 Mbps downloading speed. First and last time using this company. Get faster internet speeds from my broken phone's hotspot that barely has service. Extremely disappointed with this purchase.

It took 4 attempts to get the equipment installed properly. Once installed, we never got more than 1-2 Mbps. It was usually under 1. After much effort with Hughes, they determined the issue was on their end with no available resolution. They offered a discount for 6 months - wanted me to continue to pay most of my regular bill without any usable service and without any hope for resolution. When I decided to cancel and requested a full refund, it was a long battle to achieve the goal. They actually wanted me to pay the early termination fee for cancellation before the contract was up. It took nearly 3 weeks to install and we had service with them for less than 3 weeks in total with nothing but frustration for the whole 6 week timeframe. Never again!

I was notified by my bank that my debit card had been compromised so I had to contact the company to change my method of payment with them. I don’t like the speed of my Apple Mac with HughesNet. Compared to CenturyLink it is really slow. Also, I used to be able to use my iPhone to make and receive calls, now I can’t, breakups occur often. I had my phone and internet service disconnected but, had to have the phone reconnected.

Have had issues with being able to use internet since installed. Download speed goes up and down (high/low) and we have not been able use internet much over past few weeks very good. Each time I call HughesNet and they do something to make it stable and works great until a day later and then does the same thing. Called HughesNet again and told them to do whatever they did the last time and sure enough speed stayed up again and worked great but has now gotten unstable again and is hit or miss with download speed. Something needs to be done to make stable because the way it is right now we are not getting what we paid for. We want HughesNet but we need it to stay working. Thank you.

Pole install, installation rep said they needed to get area blue staked and showed up 8 hours late, then installed pole in foam. When I questioned pole not feeling stable, he assured me that it would be firm in 24 hours. It was not. I contacted Hughes and said I was unhappy with install. After many failed attempts to connect with customer service rep, finally spoke with rep who proposed that Hughes would fix the wobbly pole for 50% off the normal service fee of $300?!?! I said that was a ridiculous proposal and that the install from the beginning was botched. After 30 minutes on the phone he finally said they would fix pole at no charge. This is supposed to be completed this afternoon. We will see how it turns out. Attached is how the service crew stabilized the pole. Please see attached photo of how they fixed the wobbly pole.

The internet service installed is slow, I would like to know if it will improve, we need a better service. Not sure if it is due to antenna installed, it is not the best technology. Also, when I requested the service I never was notified the service is using antenna. I disagree with that.

Our internet hardly works. The customer service sucks. They think they are always right and the customer doesn’t know nothing. We play games and watch Netflix and the internet barely works. Called to get help and the customer service said they are the technician not me so they know whether my internet works.

Our CenturyLink was slow - at times could not access internet or get Netflix. HughesNet was too be better but we still have difficulty accessing Netflix and the internet is no faster. We were hoping this would solve our slow - sketchy service but as yet don't see it happening.

We have had this "lack of service" for 15 months, can’t watch any streaming program, can’t work from home, basically worse than old dial up???? But since they won’t cancel until our contract is up, want their money.... they keep sending techs out to check dish, and they keep saying it is as good as it will ever be. And no there are no blocking trees or other things in way....Sad.

Unfortunately, because of our microcell tower for our cell phones, we were unable to continue HughesNet service because it was not compatible with our microcell tower. Hughes Net seems to be better than my previous provider. Less outage and somewhat faster service. I am also expecting the cost be what I was quoted as I have not received my first billing. I also feel that customer service will be easier to connect with. We'll see!

Wifi is useless. Can't get a steady stream on Netfilx or Amazon and get hesitation constantly. Also DirecTV gives a message that not enough speed on internet to retrieve on restart of programs. Only direct cable to modem will work.

I called HughesNet, wondering why my bill had gone up. Jericho explained that it really had not. Rent on the equipment is $10 per month. He then said he could get a $10 discount for me for 6 months which he did. Jericho was wonderful, courteous and helpful. Internet speeds are slow at best. Customer service said they would call me at home to try and figure out the trouble and still have not called going on two weeks now. Videos/ movies buffer constantly and download speeds are slow.

Not really a TV watcher (maybe 3-4hrs daily) or a big internet surfer, check emails, and occasionally watch a video. So why was I paying a big cable bill? Crazy lol. I haven't had any problems with the service. We've even had a few storms that knocked the phone out but not the internet. So far so good.

I’ve decided after today’s support of no support at all to cancel. This is my second written notice of my intent, the first being an email I sent just 2 weeks after service. You advertise. Fast speed NO, you say unlimited NO, I’ve talked to a rep, courteous, gave me 3 tokens (I don’t like this). Still minor improvement. I tried chat, TWICE. One never responded, one responded after 12 minutes saying chat ended. Don’t blame the rain. It’s never been good. I need explanation, improvement, and satisfactory response or you can take this and stick it where the “sun don’t shine.”

After believing your ads that you have the best WiFi in the world, I discover it only works for 10 feet from the unit. I never planned to put four TVs in one room-much less my bedroom. Installation was quick and well done. Very nice and sociable technicians. Service is good when it works. It’s not consistent. You pay a premium price for limited usage internet that you can’t use for online gaming. Cable internet is more powerful with no limits for half the price. I guess it’s a countryside tax.

The setup and installation was great. Speeds are essentially at what was advertised. Download speeds sometimes go higher than advertised, and upload speeds are close, but not consistently 3 Mbps. I would give this at least a four, if not five star, rating if the speeds were consistent. In one hour I can go from a download speed of 25 Mbps to 8 to 3 to 3 to 29. Hopefully as they improve technology there will be more consistent service.

The installer was very nice. He explain what he was doing every step I'm very satisfied. First he showed me his ID. He talk me through hooking up the box. When he went to put the dish up he did good putting the pole and then putting the dish up. He also clean up his stuff.

We have full service in our house but our phone constantly buffer when we try to watch videos on our phones. We can't even Facetime or send videos sometimes. I called to get this resolved and all they did was make sure my router was receiving a signal and transfer me to a home tech who also didn't help resolve the problem. Now we are locked into a two year contract for a service we can barely use.

I don't like the big dish. The miscommunication, extremely slow service, rude customer service rep, reps not giving accurate info. at sign up, too many withdrawals out my account without my permission, and not being told that I had to sign up for auto withdrawals or be charged $5 for a paper bill upon getting the service, when it rain I can't watch my recorded shows or go online. Just not happy at all.

I cannot watch a video at 720p without constant buffering. I spent a lot of money upgrading my televisions for UHD and now I cannot even stream below DVD quality without constant buffering on DirecTV. This also plays into gaming, I shoot somebody and it doesn't register for 2 seconds. If you plan on doing anything other than surfing the web then this service is not what you're looking for. I am extremely unsatisfied with the speed of this network and when calling in I got "HughesNet is not for what you're doing on web". Well that's real funny because DirecTV and HughesNet upon activating service just spoke on how great this service is. How I would be able to do everything on it! Well that is a flat out lie.
I have even went and disconnected every single possible thing that could be taking bandwidth and still could not stream a DVD Quality Rental without constant buffering. I am now paying $80 a month for a service that doesn't work. The next step up is $150 a month just for Internet! I was pitched $49 a month. I went to $79 a month to see if I needed more bandwidth if that would fix the issue. It's still does not. I'm in the process of filing reviews anywhere I possibly can so no one else experiences what I have been put through switching from Xfinity.

After living with slow and unreliable DSL service for several years, I opted to try HughesNet. Installation was arranged VERY quickly and the technician was excellent. He spent a lot of time finding the best location for the dish. The speed has been at or above the advertised level, but I have had consistent connectivity problems since the system was installed. Response from technical support was quick, but no resolution yet. I'm optimistic that when this issue is resolved I will be very satisfied.

We were told that Hughes satellite was the fastest service in Elk Ridge Utah. Once connected it was a huge disappointment as we see a lot of buffering instead of speed. We are not used to this and find it very frustrating as we stream for TV. Our phones take time to download stuff as well. We are stuck with this for 2 years. NOT HAPPY.

The internet is good, but the bars strength on iPhone is not that strong, WiFi is good. Do I pay my bill through HughesNet or is it through Dish Network. I did not know that the dish that go the roof was that big.

The promised and agreed to speed was over 20 Mbps. Only get over 20 Mbps rarely. Every day and evening the download speed is under 3 Mb. Always varies quite a bit! Agreed to pay for full service not 1/10th. Guess I should pay 1/10th the bill until this is resolved.

Latency problems. Incapable of maintaining a normal phone conversation using wi-fi. I use internet for seminary live session and must interact with professors, impossible in PR: Also speed problems are continuous. The combination of very high latency and inconsistent speed complicates the connection problem.

Cannot watch anything that is stream related like Youtube, firestick, stream movies, video games. Can't even watch On Demand on DirecTV because of poor internet connection. Can only browse and that is slow. Every 10 seconds literally whatever I'm streaming buffers for 5 seconds or more. It takes me almost 4 hours to watch a two hour movie.

Service still not that great. Better than nothing, maybe. Slow to upload. Videos will not play all the way through. Too much buffering and takes 10 minutes to watch a 2 minute video.
