    No respond to my request to fix my phone and internet I have a very bad HEART and I need a phone so I had to borrow a friend cell just I need to call my HEART DR. I even ask for a repair to bring a modem out and check the system. But they wanted to CHARGE $125.00 BUCKS. So I would not go to HUGHES for any service. And I would expect them to charge me for the time my service was down. Go to someone else.

    They were suppose to come yesterday and fix my internet but they did not show up. I called the company about him not showing up, they said that they would call me back and let me know what was going on but they never did. I'm not happy with the service right now and I will recommend your internet service to anybody. I have you internet for around 6 months and they have had to come and change the router and the box on the disc two because of them tearing up. Not happy at all.

    Part time day trader, Roku user. Unable to do either with this very slow, intermittent service. When I inquired about these particulars, I was told "no problem". So, a new provider is in town (who I had before in Texas) is available. This Cable provider starts at 100mps with similar pricing. Trying to go with them but Hughes net has me hostage due to contract (which I cannot get a copy of). I seem to be stuck with a product that certainly does not meet expectations or promises for that matter. Bad business practices!!! I wonder if the State Atty. Genl. would be interested in such businesses? We'll see.

    We can't even watch Netflix. I spent hours on the phone with technicians who could not figure out what was wrong. Hughes net should be sued! You completely lied about your service capability. And to add insult I could not dissolve my two year contract. Definition of contract: provide services set forth in writing! You failed. Thank goodness 2 years is up the end of the month. Horrible company!!!

    The high speed of 25mbps drops to less than 500 kbps. Buyer be careful. I live in a rural area with limited access to internet and am on a limited income. Satellite internet is expensive. 85.00 per month for 20G. When I originally signed up for internet I was told that the speed would never be below 1mbps after the high speed data limit was reached. This for me was satisfactory since I could stream on a small TV and use my computer as long as I had a download speed of 1mbps. It buffered but was usable as had been demonstrated by DSL at that speed (used at a different location).

    I have called HughesNet many time over the last 20 months of the contract and the support staff does try to help. I have had to have my entire system replaced due to a failure on the dish. IT took three service calls to figure this out. The first two took 3 weeks before the technician could come out. The last call was only 2-3 days.

    Over the past week to two weeks I have had very slow speed once the 20D of data was used. At the latest discussion (/18 it was noted that the slow speed would always be below 1mbps (in effect cutting one off) since this is the way hughes net make it profits. Noted; The less than 1-3 mbps is embedded under the legal contract under policies but is not openly found on the general website staying instead usually 1-3 mbps etc.

    I have 4 months to go on my contract. In order to cancel the 2 year contract at 1 month it would cost 400.00, at 20 month it is 135.00 and at 1 month it's about 85.00. The same as paying for the month. This may be legal as well; still 400/23 divide by 17.4 per month. Therein hughesnet is charging 135.00 to cancel a contract after 20 months instead of 69.40 if cancelation was evenly divided. Admittedly, I was the fool signing a contract with hughes net. Please just know what you are getting into. I feel they are limiting the data so low to get you to buy more data. Everyone (senior and the disabled) cannot afford more data.     I called again on 9/16/19 and was finally given to a Sr. Specialist, (Michael **) who just couldn't do any more for me in order to retain my business. I only had the phone contract for 6 weeks & was told there would be a $210 cancellation fee. I balked a lot, as you came to me regarding YOUR phone promotion, Michael ** finally waived the $210 phone cancellation fee & agreed he would send a technician to my house to get into the dish and remove whatever you need from it.

    I am 77 years old and the dish is 20 ft. up on a fence. No way could I or would, ever try to climb up a 20 ft. ladder to remove this important piece. He gave me a case ID.# of **. I am to call in again, when I have established new service, to have this tech come to my house & pick up the pieces that need to be returned to you. He promised both this & also the waiving of the $210 cancellation fee. He assured me it would be handled, He said he put a note on my record regarding the waiving of the $210 & also having your representative come to my house to pick up the equipment that you insist must be returned. I would not have had a problem returning the 3 phone pieces you just sent me, but I refuse to climb a huge fence & get the final piece in the middle of the dish.

    I am hopeful, that when I call & set this into motion, that his note will cover what he promised & Hughes Net will do for me. Your company is not up to other Internet companies regarding GB in the business. I hate to leave you after 6 years of having your equipment, but I must. If you want to call me feel free to do so. **.     HughesNet Gen5 is a rip off. I dislike HughesNet very much. Cannot wait for my contract to expire so I can go to a company that is much better in treating their loyal customers.     I have called twice and a Level 4 Technician (whatever that means) was supposed to call within 3 days to solve my problem. Never did. The issue is that My Internet cuts in and out. Can Not even use my Bluetooth earphones. I cannot download nor upload a file, nor watch a video. HughesNet should be ASHAMED for FALSE advertisement. I would give it a ZERO STAR.     This is the worst internet service you can get! They do not listen or help resolve problems and refuse to let you talk to their manager. I told them I wanted a debit card switched and they still billed the old one. It ended up over drafting my account. I do not recommend this to anyone. Not to mention the service was so subpar that we ended up disconnecting it. When we wanted to cancel our service because there basically was no service they told me they had to charge me four-hundred dollars and refused to cancel it. WORST COMPANY EVER!     We have had your service barely a month. And have had nothing but trouble. No one wants to take care of it. Our daytime phone number is wrong.     This has to be the worst Internet in existence. I have had several different Internet carriers for my Wi-Fi over the years and this is BY FAR, the worst once I have ever experienced. It runs like crap in both towns I’ve lived in. You never know when it’s going to crap out and have a terrible signal strength. Then I have had THREE different issues with magical fees and “unpaid” bills being racked into my bill when I have paid my bill EVERY MONTH. I was also lied to when I moved and was told they do your first move for free if you move homes, but then that was tacked onto my bill as well. I absolutely cannot wait until I am out of my contract with this company and I will make CERTAIN to tell people not to do business with this company. It should be illegal how terrible the service is and I don’t know what happens in billing, but that’s just insanity.

    I have had logged 60 hours of phone calls many on hold with problems since my service was installed Sept 17, 2017. When installed they put my account under my sisters name as we had them installed the same day - I should have known it would be a problem now as it started out as a problem. It took them 2 days to install. They finished the 25th yet bill me on the 23rd every month. She has filled out forms & faxed, talked to very stupid supervisors that ensured us the problem was resolved & our accounts would be separated over a year ago, yet it has not been done over a year and 1/2 later.

    I am on my 3rd modem the last of which we were told not to bother to send back by 2 agents then they bill my credit card over $134.00 for this modem. This company may be alright if you never have a problem, but if you do may God bless you because their agents speak poor English and are mostly in Mexico and the Philippines not to mention the fact they are not the sharpest knives in the box. I would advise anyone to go to alternatives to this company and even here in the mountains we are getting more competition so do yourself a favor and TRY ANYONE BUT HUGHES NET! Unless you have much time a bottles of **!

    First, I sign up for the Hughesnet internet and immediately I get a call from my son who says the service is so slow that you can't even watch a Youtube video. I get a hold of a rep from Hughesnet on a 3 way call with the rep, myself and my son, and they try to feed us some crap about needing another cable? Anyway, I decide to call back 2 more times to see if any other reps can resolve the issue and they couldn't. I cancel the service after 1 hour, for which they gave me a hard time over. I decide to just go back to Spectrum for the internet.

    When the Spectrum person came out to our home, he said the Hughesnet person didn't plug something in correctly. Nice. A month and a half goes by and I finally get the box and return postage label to return the equipment to Hughesnet. I drop it off to mail the next day. Now, 2 months later, I see a charge of $214.40 out of my account for no returned equipment!! I call immediately and they say now I have to call back in 24 hours to get the refund due to some computer thing that has to cycle? I got the reps name. Here's to hoping I get my $214 back!

    I have had to call in a few times and ask that they add my wife to authorized person on the account. I thought this had been handled and yet every other time she calls is hassled by them and won't be helped because they say they need my authorization. She was furious as she was unable to resolve the tech issue, even after speaking to a supervisor who was a complete jerk and had to try back several times before getting someone willing to help her. In my own personal experience with their customer service it is hit or miss as well. The wifi signal is ok most of the time but I suggest using a 3rd party counter, I don't think theirs is always accurate.

However in this case A customer service rep explained that because we had been such long term good customer he would up us from 20 to 30 MG/month at a very generous offer.     They ran my credit without my permission. And I spoke to three different representatives and supposedly they “canceled” my service and it’s probably still going fraudulently because I recently got an email about a module replacement that I didn’t ask for but this company is the most fraudulent. I wouldn’t ever use them in the future. Just letting future customers know be careful because they just run people’s credit without their consent.

    Not sure how you stay in business but duping customer through the 30 days basically giving them unlimited data and then not allow them to see usage in the 30 day. You have to cancel it. Fraud in my eyes, contacting you get no help. Wanting to make right then you wait for contract up to cancel and they say you have less for another year so they hook you.     I have received a bill from Hughes Net in the amount of $216 for an "unreturned" satellite radio. However, I have pictures that I did return the product that I have tried to use as proof and they are giving me the run around. First, I was told to fax my photos, however, I do not have access to a fax machine. The second time I called, I was told that I could send my photos to advancedbilling@hughes.net. So, I sent an email with my attached photos of proof that the radio was indeed in the box they sent me with all 3 items in all the slots of their box. After sending the email, I never received a reply that the photos had been received. Only that this email was not monitored by anyone and that I would have to call customer service. I called them a third time, explained all other interactions with the service representatives on the phone.

    Finally, the third call, the gentleman contacted someone in the advanced billing department, verified that my pictures were received and my account would be refunded the money back to my card that they automatically deducted from my card on file. It will be a process to received this refund, but finally I will receive it. With that being said, I feel something is a little shady that they tried to say my radio was not in the box, charged me $216 for the radio, when indeed it was in the box. Makes me so glad that I thought to take a picture of the items in the box for evidence on my behalf.

    Long story short, no matter what package you buy, no matter what your data limit is, it will be slow and they will find a way to make it your fault so that if you want to get out of your contract be prepared to pay $300-400. If you have problems with it be prepared to pay for the technicians to come out, even if it's due to THEIR equipment only 8 months after they installed it. You are required to rent their modem or pay $500 for one. Customer service is only available Monday-Friday 8-5pm Central Time, so even if you do get them to admit to a slow connection good luck troubleshooting if you're not home when their "advanced" IT department is open.

    There's no way to track what device is using your data within days of a new billing period. Their advice is to use your data after 2am, or change your Netflix/Hulu settings to a low quality. So hopefully you don't like having high definition television. Their claim of no "hard" data limits is a bunch of BS. My recommendation is if you live in a rural area where the normal internet service providers aren't available go with one that does not require satellite because I've heard no matter who you go with satellite is just slow. I recommend using a hotspot or even better is radio wave based ISP. I hope this helps. Don't make the same mistake as me!

    After moving over 2 years ago, I cancelled my account with hughesnet.com then began being billed again six months later. I finally got an email from them this month stating that a monthly bill had been generated (none had been received for 20 months.) After going back through credit card statements, I realized that they had begun to re-bill me in January 2018. After chatting with a representative online, they lied about not having my credit card information on file. So I called hughesnet.com and after speaking to two representatives and waiting for half an hour, I was told that I had agreed only to suspend the account and they had a right to begin re-bill an old address.

    They said they will not give back any of the money being billed to my previous address. Upon looking online, it seems as if they do this a lot and probably have stolen more than the $1300 from me. I asked the representative if it made sense that I wanted service for a home where I no longer lived, and he said it did. I told the representative that this is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. Please avoid this company at all costs!

    We have been customers for a little less than 2-years. The radio in the dish antenna stopped working (it should have been new when installed and, if so, was pretty low quality). We called and were told by the service person that they had a repair plan that could be cancelled after the repair was done and that we wouldn't be charged. Well they charged us $419 and then claimed that we didn't cancel the service plan within their timeframe, or that the plan wasn't entered into their system in time before we cancelled, or some other such malarkey. I know I shouldn't have believed their something for nothing spiel, but I thought they wanted to keep their fairly new customer. You'll probably have better luck with Exede. I will be switching to Exede ASAP. DON'T USE Hughesnet.

    On the morning of 8/31 at approx 5:30 am PST I tried to access the internet and could not. This was not unusual as it has happened before and my service has suffered with slow internet speeds. This time I reset the modem by disconnecting the power for 5 - 10 secs. Did this several more times because the system would not allow me to access the web. Called your customer service number and was connected to your rep located in Texas.

    After over 55 minutes on the phone and 5 more resets on the modem the tech determined that the problem was on YOUR equipment (mounted on the antenna). He then told me I would have wait 5-6 days before repair could be made. Mind you this was on YOUR equipment! This upset me quite a lot and told rep that the time frame was not acceptable and my conversation ended!

    A few minutes later I got a call back from the same rep to inform the there would a charge for the tech to come to my location to repair YOUR equipment! I did tell the rep that that was BS and would do my best to spread the word about your policies! Later that same day I tried to access the internet again and was successful. I believe what happened was the I ran out of my service plan allotted time. What your people did NOT check is that I had purchased 5 GB of additional data previously. That being said I lost several hours of production on my end and hell of a lot of respect for you organization! My stand on spreading the word has relaxed somewhat but you need to atone for this crap you put me through! Please reply to this message!

    Do not get HughesNet for your home internet. You will use up all of your data in a very short period faster then normal use. Trust me. I have tested all my devices (4 cell phone and one tablet). Hughesnet only gives you one hour of steaming per day while your data last all combined. Within a week you'll run out. I used their app to monitor my data. I was surprised to find out I was using data while no devices were connected. Not worth the promises they offer. This to me is a scam.

    I call customer service and no one seemed to know how to handle my concerns. One representative told me I shouldn't have chosen Hughesnet and insinuated it was my fault. Another rep suggested I buy more data. Nothing is unlimited. It's limited alright. Don't be fooled. The fast internet they promise goes away fast. Trust me. You will be locked in for 24 months and if you cancel you will be charge almost $600 plus you will be responsible for returning the equipment once you get it off the roof. In closing DO NOT GET HUGHESNET. You have better options.

    I requested from customer service because my internet was down and we could not get it fixed on the phone and by the way my time is money too. Every time the state code would tell us it was a outside problem, so finally 4 days later this service man shows up, well he began to check the outside componets, then he took his wire snips and cut the cable wire running into the house.

    Well he did not know that myself and one of my friends witnessed him take his wire cutters and actually cut my cable wire that ran from the satellite dish. My friend Chad and I was outside working on my vehicle and that service technician/installation specialist was not aware that were not aware that we witnessed him intentionally cut my cable wire, then about 30 minutes later, after I had got aggravated with my car, so I came back in to my house, your technician you sent to my house began to tell me that my cable wire had got chewed into. At this point I told him that Myself and my friend had witnessed him cut the wire.

    At this point he was really silly because he was caught in the act of deception, so I told him if he wasn't gonna be honest about what the issue was concerning my service that he could just leave now and I would request another technician to check my internet service. At this point the tech started begging me to let him finish the job, that he knew what was wrong with my service, so reluctantly I allow him to finish the work order. It was then that he showed me the defective part, it was on the satellite dish and I ask him what was the part called and he responded to my question saying that it was called the radio.

    He showed me the actual part and he shook it back and forth and it made a sound as if it had broken glass in it and I ask him why he tried to trick me into thinking something had chewed my cable wire up and he responded to me saying that he had orders from someone there to always make it look as if it were negligence on the customers part, where the customer would be responsible for getting the internet up and running.

    Well, I caught him snipping the cable wire and he revealed to me that it was actually the radio component and that it appeared as though it had been struck by lightning and it was defective and it would not be my fault and that I would not have to pay a service charge because it was in no way my fault and that he would fill his work order out to show that it was not the customers fault.

    You guys should be ashamed for taking advantage of your customers in this manner. I am really in a stage of disbelief, as though I were in a bad dream. Now You have my internet down where I have no access to it and that is ** too!! Now I really have faith in your company and what it represent. I am waiting until tomorrow to see if you will fix the malfunction and turn my service back on. Now you need to consider all the facts and I believe you will do the right thing and restore my service and remove that $125.00 fee from my account. If you don't I will take many, many customers over to the other side with me when I make the transition from HughesNet over to AT&T. I have a whole league of gamers that will follow my lead, I have been a good customer to you so just do the right thing and I pray by this time tomorrow I will be back online as your customer and everything will be back to normal and my service will be restored.

    I have 2 witnesses that watched him literally take his electricians lines and snip that cable wire, how many more people would you like to see these ridiculous acts of deceit, this is the cable wire he snipped. I am gonna send you pictures of these places that he snipped and tried to tell me that these cable wires have been chewed up.

    When I ordered HughesNet, I asked THREE TIMES if it would work with my son's Xbox Live. Three times they deliberately lied to me and said that it does. We get our internet installed and they have a data block to prevent an Xbox from connecting to it. Besides the Xbox, the internet runs like dial up. So I call them, and it's every excuse in the book, but no attempt to correct the problem. Our plan was 10 gigs of 5G and unlimited 2G. So we got rid of Netflix and put every device in the house on 2G so that the 5G would still be available when we need it.

    Well our plan renewed 3 days ago, and I just got a notification that we have used 75% of our 5G. Kinda impossible since there is not a single device in this house connected to the 5G. Do they actually expect me to believe that we have a 5G leak? Anyway, we got scammed into a 2 year contract on internet that we will never be able to use. I can't even log in to my bank account because it is so slow that my bank cancels the log in. And the 10 gigs of 5G we pay for apparently doesnt even exist, since our month just started and it's gone without being touched.

Latency means no VPN, no streaming, no gaming. Decide to cancel before the 2 year contract? $400 opt out fee if not canceled within 7 days. Get get 3 Verizon Jetpacks if you can, they get throttled to 600 KB/s after a measly 15GB of data usage, but still way more reliable and faster than prehistoric HughesNet.

    I ordered HughesNet for my home in an area that gets marginal reception from Dish and Direct. It was the worst decision of my life. From the very beginning HughesNet receives a ZERO in every category! The equipment was marginal and unsellable when I stopped using it--I paid almost $500 for the equipment, and couldn't sell it for $50 six months later! The reception was slower than the old dial-up, and customer service was nonexistent!!! They never answered the phone, they never returned phone calls, and customer service is a name with no meaning to HughesNet. They keep needing more customers, because NOBODY stays with them. I would suggest investing money into an easy chair on the front porch to watch the horizon rather than spend ten cents on HughesNet.

    Canceled my service in May. Was never told a charge to cancel because I was moving. I had to send my equipment back at my charge because they would not send me box before I moved and then they charged me month later for not returning 213.00$ which I received a email that they did.     I understand that Hughesnet like other providers use contractors for installation and service. However the original contractor installed the satellite dish on a pole in the ground as opposed to being fastened to the house. The problem is that every summer when it is hot and dry, the ground dries up and the pole shifts causing the dish to be misaligned. Hughesnet will gladly send out a contractor at a cost of $120 every time to correct the problem that was created by one of their contractors in the first place. I am very frustrated with Hughesnet and am currently looking for an alternative provider for my internet service.

    I've had HughesNet for 2 yrs. PS4 doesn't even load. Internet speeds are false.     I really don’t know where to start. I have had the absolute worst experience dealing with HughesNet internet. First and foremost, unbeknownst to me, I signed up for this internet service through a third party vendor which told me numerous lies; I’m assuming just to sell me the service. I was told by this sales agent that a termination fee was completely waived if you are to move to a new location. Well, that was a lie. When I spoke to a customer service representative who is an actual employee through HughesNet (or so he said) he told me that they are not responsible for what the third party vendors say. I then ask him if there was a way he could pull up the recording from the conversation and he told me that was not possible since it was not done through HughesNet.

    So now, they are trying to charge me $325 to terminate my service. If I don’t pay that, it will go to collections and ruin my excellent credit. I feel so sorry for all the other people like me who have been conned into purchasing this service. Is there not a safeguard to prevent these third party vendors from selling a bunch of lies? If I would have known there would be a termination fee for moving, I would have never signed up for the service in the first place because I knew there was a chance we would be relocating. I did not thoroughly go through and read the fine print of all the HughesNet policies prior to signing up because I took it on good faith that I was speaking with an honest professional; which I was later told did not even work directly through HughesNet. I feel so lied to and deceived.

    Not only did this individual lie about the termination policy, she also thoroughly lied about the quality of service we would be receiving. She told me we would have “unlimited” service. She further explained we would be allotted a certain amount of data each month and after our data ran out, our MBPS would decrease from the advertised 25MBPS to around 5-10MBPS.

    I questioned her about this because I read online where it stated speeds would be reduced to 1-3 MBPS. She then replied “they list the lower speeds so potential customers are aware they could be that low, but you should never get below 5 MBPS.” Once again, another huge lie. I consistently get 0.4 MBPS download which is virtually useless for everything. I called numerous times over the course of 7 months and each time I was given the runaround by customer service employees that could barely speak English. One time they actually did send a technician out to our house who did find something wrong with the satellite dish. He tweaked a few things and our service improved for a couple weeks but then back down to below 1MBPS.

    Furthermore, when I signed up I thoroughly questioned this third party vendor to the point I felt I had all the answers I needed. I was so wrong, I was on the phone for over an hour trying to make sure she answered all my concerns. I was naive at the time assumed I would be able to have access to this sales transaction if things went south; I could just call HughesNet and have them pull up the recorded conversation. NOPE, when I called and attempted to cancel the service due to moving (mind you, I was told there was no early termination fee if the service was disconnected due to relocation) the customer service representative stated there would be a fee.

    After disputing the fact I was told when I signed up there was no fee for these circumstances, I finally requested him to pull up the recording so he could hear for himself the lies I was told. He said they were unable to gain access to the sales conversation because the transaction was not done through HughesNet, but a contracted third party vendor. So, it didn’t matter I was deceived into buying THEIR service. THEY were not responsible for what a third party did. Of course not because it benefits their company. Bottom line, do not sign up for service through HughesNet. I do not see how these people sleep at night knowing they are conning a bunch of poor, unknowing individuals out of money. Read all their reviews and decide for yourself.

    I'm in a rural area and had slow and undependable service. Signed on with HughesNet premium service in 2014 and it was dependable, although much slower than DSL. Never had a problem with data caps until now; all of the sudden my usage took me over limit and my speed dropped drastically. I do not stream videos or music... Just emails and web research. How can this surge be? HughesNet was non-responsive, so I researched and found a company that can now serve me with 4 times the speed and half the cost. When I called HughesNet to cancel them, they came at me with all kinds of incentives and reductions in price to stay... But they never did apologize for what they had done to me. I can't use Roku due to extremely slow internet speeds. The main reason I got your service was for Roku.     I was referred to three different telephone numbers and on the phone about an hour regarding Refer a Friend program. I referred a friend, in July. I called them and was given a number for my friend to give to installer and I did. I was assurred after 2 billing cycles I would get 50 credit and my friend would get 50. Yesterday after an hour on the phone and speaking to 3 different people I was informed that we do not qualify for program. Fortunately, I cancelled the install because HN ran a HARD credit check after I was ensured that a soft credit check is standard practice. Because I monitor my credit, I was alerted that HN ran a hard credit check which shower up on my credit report and lowered my overall FICO score.     This is the slowest internet I've had since dial-up. It takes so long for some pages to load that they time out. When I signed up, I was told that I would be able to stream videos, but buffering is terrible. It's really no better than the free internet offered by the RV park where I live, except that I don't constantly get disconnected. But that is the only advantage.     Our internet speeds are worse than those we had with CenturyLink even with the Linksys booster routers that were sold to me by the Dish/HughesNet installer for more than $400 and after I called and agreed to pay for a higher speed internet service. Your representatives and marketing materials are misleading. I was warned of this but did not heed the warning. I am extremely unhappy with your internet service ice and your false advertising.     I had Centurylink before HughesNet and have had an awful time with CenturyLink getting our service moved to our new home (it has been 3 months without CenturyLink internet). There is not enough data or speed to do much or any streaming. We have not been able to do any streaming because it uses all of our data for the month. It is also very costly.     Lost service on June 20, 2019. Called on 21st - they sent out tech that didn't have tall enough ladder to reach dish. Finally sent a tech on July 15 but he couldn't service because it was raining. Was back out July 19th and finally repaired. Was told we would get credit for the days without service. Was given 19.00 credit on our July bill and in August was charged full amount plus 29.50 service charge. When called billing did not why we weren't given credit. Assures us credit will be on Sept. bill not the first time we have heard this happening. Unfortunately this is all that is available in our area. Would never recommend them to anyone.

    Beware of how the cable is buried. It wasn't buried properly and our lawnmower cut the cable. We were charged $125 for the repair. Poor customer service and no resolution. Overseas customer service! Must keep reference number or they can't help. Also communication with repair technician was lost. The repair technician told us that the cable was improperly buried and he would document and send the report in. However, the supervisor at HughesNet could not locate those notes. Not a good company.

    I had to switch from Dish internet service to HughesNet in late June 2019. At first the speeds were OK but never as the advertised 25mps. By the time of this review, the speeds were in kps. About as bad as DISH with one caveat... We were using upwards to 3 to 4 gig a day and eaten up our monthly allotment in 4 days!! At least with DISH, we never went through our allotment of 5 gigs in a month. Because I am on contract for two years I'm stuck with a slow system but paying for extra gigs per month to supplement our usage.

    For instance I am the only one on the internet writing on this page but according to the usage meter, I have used up .2 gig or 200 megabytes since starting this review. Tried calling tech support and they were virtually useless. Because I live in an area that does not have land based internet I am stuck with this terrible service. I may write to the consumer protection agency for help. Stay away from HughesNet....They will suck you dry.

    I gave HughesNet customer service permission to use debit card one time for friend's account setup, Rep assured me it would be a one time debit. He purposely put the account in my name and put another charge on card after telling me he wouldn't use my card again. Friend called yesterday, net was not working after installation, so cancelled. I called today because I see another charge from HughesNet and all the rep could say was I could have 10% discount. I don't even have an account there. I had told the rep to call me the next day about setting up an account for me too. I hope they pull the phone records. I will definitely sign a complaint even for a small charge.     Had 3 calls with the technical support personnel. 1st call. We of course rest the Gen5 modem, unplugged and plugged back in, changed some settings in the Admin console and was beginning to look good. After a long time, was transferred to a Sales Department. 2nd call was supposed to end with a call back after the technician did some things with the 3rd level support. Call back never happened.

    3rd call was an agent that told me on his end all looks good, within the 16-25 boundaries. If there was an issue, it must be the iPhones that were in the house. NONE of them had a HughesNet connection at the time. From the screen images I have provided, you can see how SLOW the internet speed is and causes connections to be lost. Lost connections, means lost time, business and money. As I attepted to submit this review. I lost connectivity to Hughesnet... How profound.
