    The service is bad. We have 25 and when I was talking with the agent that set this up, she said this can support up to 8 devices. I called a couple of months ago and it was round about the 5 or 6 of the month and our 25 megabytes was gone already. I’m ready to cancel this. I can’t watch my Firestick or On Demand. My deposit is too high 400.00 and you all did a credit check and I have good credit over 780 and didn’t have to pay a deposit and now in order to cancel this service you want to charge me 400.00 and I didn’t put anything down. This is bad. Had I know about this Service I wouldn’t have never canceled Xfinity internet services. I can’t watch TV Like I’m used too.

    Updated on 12/11/2019: Unfortunately been a customer for 6 months and have spent every month on the phone complaint about the internet with no resolve. Their idea of a resolve is to charge me $125 for a tech to come to my home to figure out WHY THEIR JUNK IS BROKE!!!

    Original Review: We have had this service for 4 months now with nothing but problems. Spent more times on phone trying to get service resolved than being able to enjoy having the internet service we're suppose to have. Spoke to many people with no resolve and absolutely no help. They want to escalate the complaint to their engineer dept, However they only work M-F 8-5 and you have to be home for them to assist which means time off from work to deal with a failure service. When you inquire how to get reimbursed for the time lost from work and reimbursed for the months that they have charged full price for less than half of service rendered, no answer. Really no conversation. They are good to charge you and poor at helping and resolving issues. This company and the people they employee suck!

    It hasn’t worked right since I got it.     This is the worst internet service. The worst customer service. I just renovated my house and was not ready for T.V.s yet, but I needed the internet, I called Dish and they installed a satellite dish and a modem, never mentioning the internet was an outside company that does not offer unlimited access. 6 gigabytes and the most you can get is 50 gigabytes for an $159.00. Once you use these up they slow you to a crawl, more awful than the early days of dial- up. If you have friends over, repair people anyone who needs a connect they are on your 6 gigabytes. Forget working from home!!!

    I was originally lied to by the customer service rep. She said I could bundle Hughes Net with my existing Directv bill and it would only raise my bill $10 a month for the 1st year. I was told to call after I had Hughes Net installed shop I could get them bundled. After the installation I called and was told it couldn't be done because I already had DirecTv. This was addressed in my original conversation and was told I COULD do it. I would've never got Hughes Net if I would've been told the truth in the first place. I'm very unhappy with the connection I get with Hughes Net also. Moody of tv's time I cannot even watch on demand shows because the connection is so bad. I want to get rid of Hughes Net all together and go back to my previous internet provider.

    I just spent 1 hour and 23 minutes on the phone tryin g to resolve an unjustified charge from HughesNet. I was shuffled through 3 or 4 different people only to be asked if I would hold on while they checked with someone else. I have worked for months trying to get the service to work properly only to be frustrated over and over again. After not being able to get the system to work I finally had to terminate the service. Today I received the final insult I was billed $378.0-6 early termination fee. Yes I was billed a termination fee because the system did not function adequately or as advertised. As of this date I have spent over $1000 dollars for a system that does not work, only to be billed a termination fee like it was my fault. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 69 years.

    The Installer told me which trees needed to be trimmed to get service. I spent $500 or more to have branches taken down. The same installer came back and mounted the dish and then when he aimed it the dish was pointed about 30 degrees from where he told me to trim. The installer blamed the HN app which he uses. I didn't need any branches cut.

    The service stinks. One minute you are watching a clear picture and a minute later it's too blurry to watch. When you call them their people are not empowered to actually help you. So you get transferred around usually to the wrong department anyhow. Avoid this company like the plague if you can. We can only get Satellite internet in our rural area. There are 2 companies that provide it. The other company available here is worse! So we are in between a rock...

    It was good the first month. Netflix can't get through a 5 minute interval without buffering beyond recognition. Sometimes it won't even allow me on. Pretty piss poor given I only use my phone and the TV at the same time. Printer is usually not connected for the sake of some time of progression in my shows.     I understand you cannot send a tech to everyone that calls. But for Hughes Net to run a test of my system from their desk and tell me that my speed is fine is disrespectful. I have tested my speed numerous times with your test, and also many others and it says my speed is 1Mbps. This is absolutely unacceptable. I left AT&T because they could only provide 3Mbps.     Wifi signal would say "very good" at all times regardless whether or not I was standing directly next to the router or on the other side of the house, yet, NOTHING on our cellphones or televisions would load or stream. If you are planning to use this for any kind of streaming on your television (fire stick, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc), DO NOT. Complete waste of our money and they charge you $400 to cancel their crappy service. We could have gotten better signal bumming off our neighbors... and they live a mile down the road.     Was promised good streaming speed and fast downloads. Neither of it is true. I complained multiple times and the operators agreed with me on the download speed and promised fixes but nothing ever happened. Had technician at the house and he did what he could but speeds were still dreadfully slow. Finally after 4 months I had enough and cancelled the service. But now HughesNet shows their real face by stating they have proof that the speeds were as promised and therefore I have to pay an early termination fee of almost $ 400, - So do yourself a favor and do not get involved with this horrible company. Mind you the people are nice and polite but the product does not stand up even to the lowest expectations.

Last month I spent about an extra $120 on buying data just so I could load internet pages like Hughes net’s homepage. Hughesnet’s web page won’t even load many days. This is the worst internet service ever!

    Customer service is no help. They tell me I have to turn my printer and dish tv hopper completely off along with any pads or computers that are in hibernation. This is a ridiculous solution. Why have a printer that you can print from a different room if you have to go turn it on first? How can the hopper record anything if I have it unplugged? Hughesnet steals data and if you can find another provider I would go with them. I have struggled with hughesnet for two years now. I just went to submit this review and got the message that the internet connection was lost and the review was not sent! Typical.

    When my system has not worked in 6 months I call for them to tell me they will have to call me with an advanced team before sending someone to my house.     We have had the worst trouble using our internet. The customer service seems like they are trying but it's always the same solution.... They check the connection on their end so it seems like it's working okay. However, on our end, we can't watch movies. We even unplugged the one device a smart TV, the support guy said was using a lot of internet and we still are unable to watch a movie. For example, I am trying to create a my HughesNet account and I have been sitting on my computer for over 5 minutes while the computer catches up or something.     Put a print/email feature on the chats. Get RID of the auto "are you still there". It annoys both your guests and the CSR. I was disconnected the first time because the CSR did not respond in time. When you have a customer that is upset, being disconnected doesn't bode well to keeping the customer happy. The second CSR did a good job informing me of this and we worked together to not be disconnected. However, the processes for the CSR are much too lengthy - took nearly an hour as I seemed to be waiting for "tools" to load for the CSR. Alan ** ultimately solved my issue and even got me to upgrade my acct. I went into the chat ready to cancel and pay the early term fee, but instead upgraded ONLY because of Alan **.

    I’m currently a customer of HughesNet Gen 5. It is the Worst Internet you could possibly have. They advertise speeds of 25mbps. Even when I have data I have Never received speeds above a 3-4mbps. When you are out of data they restrict you down to .7 when they advertise 1-3 Mbps. I’ve called & complained about the slow service. Their Advanced Engineering Dept. acknowledged a issue on their end but Nobody can explain to me what the issue is or tell me when it will be resolved.     In May 2019 I had my service moved from 746 to 740. At 746 I had great service however at 740 I do not have good service. My service is very slow.     I signed up with HughesNet because they were the only provider in my area. I was given good pricing. However, the service they provided was awful. We had a clear view of the southern sky, but our signal was awful. We could not watch a single episode on Netflix without it lagging. Also, you could forget using the Internet whenever it rained. To top it off, I was promised a discount on my termination fee for doing an immediate termination and that I was not going to be charged an extra month. I was given a set price over the phone to cancel, but they charged several little hidden fees. By the time it was said and done with, I had to spend almost $400 to cancel when I was promised that I would only be charged $300. DO NOT USE!! They are not worth the cheap pricing.     I have been with HughesNet for approximately 4 years. The first 2 year contract was awful slow and not enough data. They convinced me to upgrade to 4G with 4 times the data (20GB). I swear the speed was slower than before and the data mysteriously vanished. No, we weren't updating our computers, streaming video, downloading games, etc. No, it wasn't a problem with my equipment.

    When I'd call the service would miraculously speed up for a while, data wouldn't vanish as quickly. Then it would be back to awful and slow as if we had run out of data and service had been downgraded. The off-peak "Bonus" data is a joke. I'd get up at 3 am to do some upgrading in the wee hours and the daytime data would take a big hit. No one ever had an explanation. Perhaps they didn't fully understand the issue since it was clear that English was not their first language.

    I have changed ISPs this week. I'm receiving over 10 times the data (219GB) for $30 less per month. So far the speeds are jaw dropping fast. I never would have gone looking for another ISP if Hughes had delivered what they promised and at a fair price. I did get them to agree to waive the early termination fee by pointing out that they, not I, were in breach of contract by not providing the service they were charging for. HOWEVER yesterday I found that they have taken monies from my checking account for the early termination fees. After another 20+ minutes on the phone with cust svc rep Enrique I am reassured that it was a mistake and will be returned. Over 24 hours later there is no sign of refund. I have never in my 60 plus years dealt with a more dishonest company. Shameful.

    After completing my two year contract I was told I would be getting a box to return my equipment and the component out of the dish on the roof. I told the CS rep that I was not going on the and they can send someone to get their equipment if they wanted back. She said she would send someone to retrieve the transponder and made the appt. That went fine, I mailed back the equipment. The next month Hughesnet billed ME $100.00 for their tech to remove their equipment from my roof. They didn't take all of their equipment just the Transponder. I was never told there would be a charge send you did not authorize this charge. I requested a copy of the call about the return of equipment but never got a copy. Shame on HughesNet for expecting elderly people to climb on One's roof to retrieve their equipment. Dish doesn't do that, DirecTV doesn't do that. Why does Hughesnet steal from their customers? I will contact my bank and open an investigation.

    I have had HughesNet internet service for almost two years now and I can't wait till my contract is over. It is nothing like they said it would be. The first month or so it was ok then little by little the connection has failed. Now even when we have our new allocation of data we still sometimes can not connect to the internet. It goes out almost twice a week. When ever I call they trouble shoot the problem and it might work for an hour then it goes out. Then they tell me they can't see any problem, but I have no service.     I signed up for HughesNet about a month ago, initial install went fine. Three days later internet was in and out, called 3 days later another service call. New modem, new cable, internet at last. Over the next two weeks inconsistent signal then out for good. Called in, go through the usual tech stuff – unplug modem, etc. Need another service call... (I pay extra for "express repair".) So on Thursday they tell me technician will be out Saturday sooner if possible, Friday I call, "you don't have a service appointment." Set up for 10/2 6 days from the day I called. Got it moved up 1 day to 10/1 by calling and screaming several times.

    They really don't care, got on a tech forum run by Hughes and I was attacked by the Hughes reps on there. They really only care about signing up new customers, existing customers are on their own. Very unhappy people working at Hughes, also they will not let you talk to a supervisor and they did lie to me several times to get me off the phone. I can't recommend them, worse than many well know tv satellite providers who have a bad reputation. I would rate them zero stars if I could.

    We were happy that we could finally have High Speed Internet living out in the woods where fiber optics isn't available. We canceled our TV dish on the understanding we could watch our shows by streaming them. There is only my wife and me using this internet. The first month it all seemed like it would be okay. According to the app we have for Hughesnet, we just ran out of high speed two days before the next month. When it started, we ran out in less than a week. Now we are locked in a two year contract and can only enjoy less than a weeks worth of worry free TV shows.

    We only have one Amazon fire stick, a cellphone, a laptop, and a desktop (that we don't hardly use). We took the $79 a month package. By the time we add Netflix and Hulu (with the local TV package) we will be paying more than and have less than if we would have just kept the dish and used our hotspot on our phone. A LOT MORE.     The service is slower than I expected. I thought this would be faster than my hotspot on my phone, but it's not. Very disappointed. How would I be able to speed up the speeds? I have tried Borge the 2mb and 5 MB - I have not even tried to stream yet.

    The internet connection is so slow that I don't even used it, I just continue to use my cellular hotspot. Where I live, we have not options other than cellular or satellite. Our cell hotspot works great, just needed more internet for work and school. Will have to suffer until someone runs high-speed internet to us.

    I had CenturyLink & download speeds were not good. Also because internet (Verizon) is deteriorating it forces many of the calls to go over the internet. It was my understanding Huges was higher speed & would improve the service. It is not & when I got into advanced customer service I was told it is not made for this.

    It is extremely limited. We can do much more and much better with hotspot from our cells. The placement of the dish is a eyesore on our new home. We are extremely unhappy and we do not use it. So we are paying for a product that is no use to us.

    I get only around 380 kbps average (streaming) download speed. I've been told nothing can be done about this, so I want to terminate my service and not pay the early contract termination fee.     Your service never worked for my needs. I was candid about what I needed and I was told it would work. It never did. Additionally, I was never told to pay careful attention to the "legal" section. It is in the very bottom of the advertisement page and very easily overlooked (probably by design). Many surprises in there and customers need to know this. NOTHING was ever mentioned about this section to me EVER!! The technician that did the install was rude, dirty, smelled awful and did a ** job on the install. He asked to use my bathroom and he literally took a bath and left it disgusting. I was asked to sign the install voucher and I asked him what I was signing. He said "just that I was here". Little did I know that I signed a contract for service. This is a very poor business practice. Hughes needs to be transparent about the service "legal" aspects and not deceive the customer. This is an unacceptable practice.

    I've only had this service for 2.5 months and from the beginning to the current state, it's been a downer. Some days it can work then some days it won't. I regret purchasing this Internet supplier. And, when I called to state my frustration they helped and I was grateful... but, it worked for a day. However, when I called the third or fourth time about the jinky internet service, the young lady (account manager) was acting as if I was wasting her time by trying to get smart; very unprofessional.     Service is great in the morning, but the internet speed and quality declines as it gets later in the day. The last time I checked, I had a download speed of 49 mbps at 7 am, but only 1.9 mbps at 7 pm. Even reading a Wikipedia page is almost impossible.
