    I was trying to order the wi-fi booster and could not so I called the 800 number and they checked out everything and found out that the system on their end was upgrading. They were very professional and very polite and answered all of my questions. When I was on hold they came back on the line to check if I was still there and informed me that they were still checking on the problem that was going on and was trying to see if they could do something else to get the booster ordered for me.

    What a waste of time and effort to offer a service that is so powerless, to be polite. If you can't provide a better product for Carroll County Ga, then you should not be able to lock in your clients to a two-year contract.     Not near enough strength in the signal. I have Roku for my tv viewing and it is steady having to Load. My cell phone has about 2 bars most of the time. You need to strengthen your signal. That is the problem as far as I am concerned.

    I have accepted that the internet service I have gotten with HughesNet is the only available option, however I have not been satisfied with the quality. I am paying more than 3x the amount than my previous provider. With my previous provider, my speed was a consistent 9mbps download with no data limit. This worked fine for streaming SD or HD video via my Roku TV or phone, general browsing, etc....

    My speeds are now (on paper or on screen) higher (25mpbs), but the quality of the internet is much worse. It takes several minutes for Amazon Prime Video to load, and then the SD quality video buffers several times in an hour-long tv show. I have not even tried streaming a HD video. Even using other apps or loading websites takes longer; Facebook and Instagram take a long time to load. I've reached out to the web support, but as I am getting at or above the promised speeds, they did not have any options. Overall, it's all I can get, so it's what I have.

    I signed up for HughesNet and Dish Network from Elite Sales (unknowingly) and they promised me 50 GB a month for $99 mo and then when the service was installed it was only 30 GB mo. I have 3 - 16 year old high school children and I work from home quite often so 30 GB is not even worth getting the service. There is no way I would ever agree to 30 GB a month. I have 50 GB in all my 3 pages of notes from signing up with the agent. I called HughesNet as soon as I found out. It was set up incorrectly and they advised that the work order was set up for 30 GB from Elite Sales and there was nothing they could do about it and were very unhelpful. I called Elite Sales and they just kept transferring back to HughesNet saying they could not do anything. I have called both companies several times and tried to find a solution to this issue. Not one time has anyone ever even tried to help me in any way or even cared that I was lied to.

    This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company and I am extremely unhappy with the way HughesNet has ignored the dishonest way the company working from them set up my service. There is not reason for me to even keep 30 GB a month. This is the 2nd month and the 30 GB was gone in 3 days. This bait and switch sales tactic is very dishonest and illegal in Arkansas. I want this service canceled or fixed and I will not be paying any early termination fees. Thank You.

    Please move to unlimited 25mb/sec. HughesNet’s biggest downfall is your monthly service plans. Having 10gb and 20gb and 50gb plans is the absolute Worst in 2019. You need to have a reasonably priced unlimited internet with a high speed. I’m not talking about the fake unlimited plan you offer now with the throttled slowed down internet after you have used your allotment. I’m talking about a real unlimited reasonably priced plan. Unfortunately I live in a rural area and have at this time no good alternative to Hughes Net but as soon as one becomes available I will change providers immediately.

    I never leave negative reviews and I understand there are limitations with satellite dish, but it is very upsetting to be spending so much money each month just for internet and to be locked into a multiyear contract when the service is very poor. It is difficult to even stream and get through a 30 minute show without constant interruptions and buffering. It has honestly been a very frustrating experience and one I could be more forgiving of if it wasn't also so expensive. Usually you get what you pay for but that has not been my experience this time. Perhaps this is just simply what happens when you move from a populous city with a lot more competition to a remote area, but it is upsetting and very disappointing nonetheless.

    I've been dissatisfied with my HughesNet experience since day one. I've already completed a survey expressing my grievances my first few days following install. I've asked that the equipment be collected from my property and my service be stopped. Neither has been fulfilled!! My yard was trenched and left exposed at install (eyesore) and the service doesn't even support one device...tablet for example. I feel if my residential are wasn't a good location it should've been discussed. But do to the service (lack thereof) I remain to no longer want any part of HughesNet services. And speed, though better than initially, is irksomely slow.     Super slow. My computer is slow as it is but now it is super slow especially in the evenings and weekends. It's pretty much impossible to watch a youtube video.     It is incredibly disappointing that I can’t stream a dang thing from my iPad! Doesn’t matter the day or time. The only reason I have internet is to watch TV the few hours I’m home and watch football film to prepare for practice the next day.     We have had Hughes Net for 2 years now. Back in 2017 we first ordered it because I started a home based business and needed a clear and fast connection. My son also wanted to start Streaming his video games and start making his own living as well. Before I agreed to the purchase, Hughes Net sales reps assured me that the speed would be at least 25MPS and their service could handle online gaming. The Installer Drilled A Hole in the SIDE of our trailer instead of installing it through the crawlspace like we asked. My download speed is not even 2MBS and the upload speed isn't even 1MBS. THEY LIED. Then they want to charge us for the equipment after we have been with them for two years - $400!

    We ended up moving and having them transfer the equipment here at our new home BRAND NEW HOME. We just bought this house and I was Adamant about them installing all the wires through their crawl space but HERE THEY GO AGAIN DRILLING THROUGH THE SIDE OF MY BRAND NEW HOUSE! They installed it on the VERY END of my home so the WiFi didn't even reach anywhere in our 80FT modular home! We tried to cancel again and they put us through this long survey about why we didn't want the service like they weren't even listening to us the entire two years about anything.

    Finally after talking for Two Hours about canceling and just paying the $400 just to get them out of our hair, we just said we would keep it because their customer service is such a headache and rude. They don't listen to anything you say or care. An installer came out and moved the router when I wasn't home AND they ended up canceling the account anyways and charging us for a ReActivation Fee! Drilling ANOTHER HOLE IN THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE! I think it would be worth it to hire a lawyer, just to put these crooks out of business. Their Internet has been all but useless when it comes to my home based business. Half the time I have to log into my neighbors just so I can get online! I will never recommend Hughes Net. They deserve to be bankrupt.

    We only had HughesNet for about a month. From the day it was installed, we were unable to stream any videos on our cell phones and smart tv, we could not load any social media apps and basic websites were very slow to load. After contacting customer service 3 times, being told it was the weather at our “gateway” (which is in New Mexico, we are in North Carolina), then being told it was an area outage, then being told our equipment was not working properly, and each time being asked to run tests and being on the phone for an hour, I decided to cancel the service. There was never a time within the 4 weeks that we had HughesNet that it worked correctly.     I was promised how this internet would work so great for my work from home job. After tons and tons of hassle of getting it installed, including having to have a pole put in my neighbor's yard to put the satellite on, the internet was not fast enough and had crazy bad latency issues. I called customer service to discuss this further and was told I was basically lucky to have gotten her because she would wave my two year contract three days after it started. We were told the wrong information about what the speeds would be and how great their internet would be and apparently are the lucky ones.

I also asked her if we would get the money back we had paid so far to her response again that we were lucky enough to be talking with her because they could have charged us much much more.     Our HughesNet never worked properly from day one. We would call in and complain but they would say it looks good on our end. It ran very slow and small movie clips were always buffering, beginning, middle and end; when they weren't they were very fuzzy and unclear. My daughter was never able to play her ABC Mouse with it because it would never load the pages for her. I was excited to get rid of our old crappy slow internet, but this was no better and actually made our old internet not look so bad after all.     3 days after getting HughesNet it still sucked really bad. So bad can't even load videos on Facebooks, hardly would take over a minute to load a short video Netflix, didn't even work half the time or would stop every 30 seconds or so. So I called HughesNet trying to get somebody out to figure out why it hasn't been working and the guy told me it would be a fee and everything else and that I need to call him from my house and help him do a check on speed but couldn't get it thru his head no matter how many times I told him I have no service at the house and the wifi sucks so bad that I can't even make a wifi call and I eventually hung up on him and now pay 70$ a month for something that doesn't even work.     When I got it installed I wasn't notified that it would be a gigantic satellite dish in front of my house and the guys did not clean up the pile of dirt he digged up.     I contacted Hughesnet to discontinue my service at the beginning of August. In discussion with your rep I was going to be sent an early disconnection fee/final bill and a return box. The return box arrived on 9/12. I now just received a notice in the mail 9/25 that I have been taken to collections. The customer service person I spoke to today 9/25 validated that conversation on 8/9 that I asked to be disconnected. This was not done so therefore no final bill or box was sent.

    The box ended up being sent only because I was terminated by your company. The box has now been sent back to you but I must admit I am very disappointed in how you handle customers. I am also in a customer service business and out of courtesy we call to make arrangements before taking customers to collections. Had I received that call we could have cleared this up. I would expect a call or a letter of apology. I would also expect someone to contact the collection company and explain your error. Robin

    This probably isn’t the first post labeled this way. This company is ridiculous and probably only stays in business sucking people in and making money off their cancellation fees. You can’t stream without constant interruptions from their terrible latency issue. Additionally, their call center on the other side of the world employs soulless zombies who have a poor grasp of communication regardless of the language. I was not offered a technician throughout two separate calls to the support line, even after requesting a cancellation. Anyway, save yourself $400+ and get a Verizon jetpack if you have no cable options.

    The internet service provided by Hughesnet is the equivalent of a 2400 baud dial up connection. I could not do my homework and the kids could not watch movies. I almost failed my online classes because I could not access the internet. I had to move to a location where "real internet" is offered. It was cheaper for me to terminate the service and pay the ridiculous fee than to fail my classes. Seemingly from the other reviews I've read, Hughesnet charges a lot for a service that does not work for a lot of people (especially those on a fixed income) and deceives people into thinking they will get something that they do not get - working internet.

    I contacted Hughesnet Customer Service because I was having an issue with monitoring my data usage. When checking, I kept getting a message that said... bandwidth is unavailable. This occurred for 4 days. When speaking with the Rep, he first of all started off by commenting on my name & how an actress in an "oriental" movie had the same name. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. After telling him about my issue, he finally came up with a conclusion that my router and Hughesnet modem were not compatible. Funny that they have been working just fine for the past 2 years.

    I brought that to his attention and all he kept saying is "that's crazy." He really had no clue how to resolve this issue other than saying my two modems were not compatible.     Can't get on the internet. 2 problems... 1) cable connection between Router and Liksys fixed by replacing the cable. 2) 100% usage exceeded. Fixed by reassigning usage to proper room/person. Good job at diagnosing once access was expanded and Nick was able to get into my computer.

    This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my 75 years.... poor service, poor representatives. We never got what was promised and jumped through Hughes hoops for two months before we decided to cancel. We canceled because the service promised was never provided and we got nothing but the run around time after time over the phone. The $385 we payed to cancel was one of my better investments. Do not use Hughes, go to Starbucks for the Internet if you need to, it would be a much better experience!

    We have only been with Hughes Net for about 7 months and it has been nothing but horrible. Slow internet, supposedly use all our data package in one day. With only using it for Netflix and on a low resolution setting. Voice service continues to drop callls or can’t hear or extremely scratchy. I’ve never be so disappointed and dissatisfied with a company ever!

    I have been a customer since 05/2018, basically 16-17 months. I bought the equipment up front. No value for return. Was told $400 termination fee for 24 months. Doesn't add up. No consideration for forced move. Most inconsiderate provider for the lousiest internet speed available. This is the most inconsiderate supplier I have ever dealt with. Their promise speeds are not true. Please do not buy Hughesnet service.

    Suggest ATT DSL or bundle with Direct TV. DSL was much better speeds than Hughesnet. Very frustrated that representative over the phone would not listen to logic. I said the math does not work for the $15 credit per month as a customer. Rep did not care but said that is their policy. I canceled service 4 days after billing period and they charged me for half month. Very difficult company to deal with. Please do not get caught up paying for lousy service, then paying termination fees on top of paying for service that is horrible. David

    I have no Choice but Hughes now. If you want to stream TV don't bother. It buffers constantly. I spend twice as much time working on my computer to due to slow speeds. I know they can do better than this and choose not to. I'm looking for a new company as soon as I can get one.

    Low data caps, low speeds. They say unlimited but in actuality once you hit your GB limit they then restrict your speed to 1 mps.. So, they call it unlimited because they don’t totally shut off your internet. It’s complete crap. Worst experience of my life dealing with these thieves. They lock you into a 2 year contract which means you’re screwed for 2 years. If you have any more than 1 device just call it a wrap because you will reach your limit within the first 2 days then you will barely be able to do anything online.

    Save yourselves the hassle of dealing with these imbeciles. They’re heartless, they only care about the money they fooled you into paying out for 2 years and not on your internet enjoyment or out of home employment. I have 6 kids, my husband deploys and I now have to get another internet provider while still paying these jokers for 2 years or they will charge me $500+ to end the contract early.
