    I am very displeased with the Hughes internet. I can not stream movies, internet is too slow. Games on my phone are continuously dropped, the connection is interrupted. When I watch Netflix the graphics are poor. I'm very unhappy that I'm stuck on a 2 year plan. Haha. I tried to submit and the connection was gone. I tried to watch the initial video to set up and could not.

    The streaming service on my TV was non-existent after the tech installed equipment. I spent hours on the phone with clueless "internet techs" who told me my TV was the problem. Until I demanded to speak with management I was handled using stonewalling techniques I will never forget. Advice: Always speak with management when dumb technicians frustrate you.

    Upon agreeing to a TWO YEAR PLAN with HughesNet, we realized that we would be leasing the modem from them for that whole time, over $9/month, and over $400 to purchase it outright. We attempted to purchase one at an outside retailer at $170, only to find out HughesNet’s modem is proprietary and no other modems will work with their systems. They already have us locked-in for two years so it is quite greedy of them to squeeze the consumer even further. Why would I purchase their modem for $400 when after two years I INTEND TO CANCEL their ‘service’ and go with a less greedy provider.

    Hughsnet needs to be more involved with the companies they are having do their installs. They also need to look into who and how their customer service is being handle. My install was done awful. I haven't had the internet for two weeks since the I install. No one seems to know who is coming to your home. If they are insured or bonded. They have no clue to who the owners of these install companies are. I have names of everyone I have spoke with. No one cares. They can care less how the install went. I sent pictures. I have sat on hold for over an hour on three different occasions. Very disappointed. They say they will make it right again...mind you. This Monday. We will see. I will write another review after what takes place Monday if they make it right or not.

    I asked to have service removed as I had someone hack into my system not an hour after the installer left. Plus I found out once we reach cap we have to pay extra and our service will slow way down. If that’s the case I’d rather be with Suddenlink. At least with them I know what I'm getting. I was told because I signed a contract I has to keep it for two years. Never mind that your system cost me a 1000.00 due to having to buy a new phone as well as change my number. The phones were hacked so bad that the ATT person could not even find where it was hidden. So it cost us 1000.00. To get back to normal.

    The internet doesn't work all the time. There are moments where you can't stream any videos even off of one device. I have pictures of when I was trying to do a Speedtest it wouldn't even connect. This is not acceptable. If there is no way to resolve this issue I will unfortunately be removing myself as a HughesNet customer. I also have a video of it trying to connect for about 2 minutes with no success. I was promised 25 Megs a second and being able to stream videos on multiple devices. This is not true.

    The installation gentleman was GREAT!! The service is not good. It takes three tries to get onto the internet and then you can only have 2 people on and when trying to watch Netflix the service is interrupted 5 times in an 1.5 hour. I am very disappointed. Took time off of work to wait for install tech. 1 day before arrival they cancel and move appointment 7 days later. Long story short the installer company Matsilla satellite. Did this 4 more times. I and several members of my family had to take time off of work or business to attempt to meet these very non customer oriented people. Extremely dissatisfied with the install company and the lack of customer satisfaction and motivation.     The quality of your product for the price being paid sucks. Speed, range, and non compatibleness are three of the major issues. I've had dial up faster than this, and God forbid if I walkout in the yard, boom no service. Worst yet is that you cannot use Wi-Fi calling with your cell phone so no texting, no phone, what a waste.     The guy that installed the wifi box asked me if I wanted the box in a certain area. I told him it was fine where he suggested. He neglected to tell me that he stapled a huge wire under the door of my living room closet which prevents the closet door from closing at all. Also, I have had this service for approximately a month and the WiFi is terrible! I cannot watch a movie or anything at all that has to have wifi.     My wi-fi was connected months ago. So I started using my T-Mobile hotspot. I live at a Lake as a Camp Host and reception that works is T-Mobile and used to work was HughesNet. All this time I thought it was Dish. So after months of paying for service watching the meter being used when everything is disconnected was baffling. So again Wednesday I was up for the challenge to call go through the runaround and finally they scheduled a tech to come out. He arrived today and said my router/modem did not work and replaced it.

    Needless to say I was charged 125.00 for the call and I said, "I am not paying, this is your equipment." So they said what about have and if it is our problem we will refund you. So I was held over a barrel and said yes. I called HughesNet and I said I have not had wi-fi or days for two months and I want a refund. The technical had no record of the person coming out. So I asked for a supervision and put on hold for over a half hour with no data and wi-fi.

    I have no issues. I'm happy with my service. Considering I have no other alternative where I am (wireless providers want 80' and up tower for me to be able to get and can't guarantee it will work, DSL is no go, cell phone wireless, slows you down to 128Kbps after 10gigs of hotspot data), HughesNet has really stepped it up from when I had it from 12-2005 until about 12-2015 (never upgraded to gen 4) getting FAP'd was a major issue then, now they keep your speeds up to an usable speed. In my opinion I'd grade them A++.

    The only reason we have stopped using HughesNet is because we just had fiber optic put to our house. The connection fee was free and the monthly fee for 100 is $55.00 less then Hughes.     Mike or Spencer stepped through my ceiling tile. On the day it happened neither one knew that they did it. The next day when I called HughesNet. Each one saw the other one do it. How convenient for me. I have been on the phone having phone sex with hughes net and Dish network for about 3 weeks. Still got holes in my sheetrock. Also the free rebate card is going to cost you about 8 hours of your time. You have to sign up, register, send them a copy of your bill, first two pages, then mail it off snail mail. And in 8 to 12 short weeks you "might" get a prepaid $100.00 Visa gift card.

In a follow-up call I placed 2-days later, I was told my repair ticket had been cancelled because I did not answer my phone at 9pm. There was no caller ID showing the call was from HughesNet. Left cords hanging and tangled and I had to disconnect and reconnect everything, just so the cords weren't such a mess. When Rise Broadband came for their equipment, the installer had not disconnected their service and reused their cable from the wall inside.     Hughesnet has worthless technical support. Don't bother calling them, and if you do, don't bother spending hours troubleshooting something that they can't fix. They can turn off things in your modem (I say it happen while I was on the phone with them), but claim they cannot. Wait for cable or fiber, or get DSL.     We had to call the field office after the technician Troy left. The Fort Worth area field supervisor's phone number was listed as a contact number. When we made this call, we just had a simple question. Because the AT&T Direct TV technician had to change out the box, after the hughesnet tech did his repair, it knocked off the internet. Because he entered the information into the TV, I just k needed to ask what steps he made to do so. Tim the field supervisor proceeded to get very rude and defensive stating that we cost his technician time away from a paying job to come to my home to fix something that wasn't exactly rocket science to fix. Those were his exact words. He was rude, disrespectful and had absolutely no business speaking to anyone in my home in such a rude manner.

    My family has worked in customer service for many years and to speak to me or my mother like that is just unacceptable. I am Evelyn's daughter. And I dispatched for a pest control company for almost 12 years. I had 30 technicians in the Dallas area and 45 in the Fort Worth area in Texas during my years working with that company. And I know for a fact that if my technician supervisor had spoken to any customer that way, he or she would have been suspended without pay for at least one week per the owners regulations.

    All we asked was if he could possibly call us while he had a moment to just answer one question. Especially when he himself entered the information into the TV instead of walking us through the steps. Yes, Troy the technician himself did his job and was polite. However...his supervisor needs some training in customer service and needs to realize that talking down to people and talking over them, and just being hateful all together, is very poor customer relations. How in the world does someone that rude and disrespectful obtain supervisor status? Please answer me that.

    My mother has been put through the ringer with your company. And she "just " started service with your company on November 2nd. Here it is November 6th, and already have regrets on getting your service. We have never been treated so badly or experienced such poor service with anyone.     On numerous occasions we have contacted this business to complain and request a technician to come to our residence to perform technical repairs or service due to incredibly slow/no internet connection. We pay a high monthly fee to receive services for high speed internet and we are not receiving it. Often we have no internet at all, yet the company tells us everything is fine and no one will be sent out. They had me just today, 11/05/2019 try to perform download and upload tests that had trouble loading the website because of connection issues again. The first representative told me when we we only downloading at 10.2 mbps, that we were really slow but still refused to send someone out.

    I asked to be put to a manager, which the representative claims, there was no manager, after I stated that I do not believe there's no one person above her that I could speak to, she responded and told me there was a supervisor line she could escalate my problem to. After a very long wait, I was connected to a supervisor, who tried to tell me the same thing that no tech would be sent out. If I wanted a tech, I would be charged a minimum fee of $135! I asked why, we have complained over and over about the incredibly slow service, that we are not getting what is advertised nor charged for monthly as far as connection speeds and that we have almost no internet at all for the last week, she stated the same thing. She also stated that they are actually located in the Philippines!

    I asked if we get a refund for all the times we have no internet and call to complain, she said nothing. Then after about 5 minutes in speaking with her I was told yet another department called. Their Engineering department would have to call me back in another 3-5 business days and then she hung up on me! This is no way to do business with customers who have been with the company for over 10 years! They are not withholding their advertised connection speeds and charging us for services that we are not getting. This company should face litigation for their false claims and bad business practices!

    Not long after installation we began having poor service issues. Check records of all calls to report the issues we have had for over these past 2 yrs with no positive results. This last time I called, Oct 30,2019, I asked for a tech to come check out our service from the dish to the modem, and was told we would be charged $125.00 for someone to come check our Hughesnet equipment. That fee, any fee, for that service is absolutely preposterous! Apparently, whoever hooked service up from the dish to the modem made an error which Hughesnet expects its customers to pay for. Talk about a SCAM!

    We had to continue to use Hughesnet for 2 yrs due to the contract you required us to agree to. I know we could have cancelled service at any time. However, Hughesnet would have charged a preposterous $ amount for breaking the contract. I recently found out that the 2 yr contract has expired. YAY!!!     We had trouble from the very start with HughesNet. The speeds were slower than dial-up and we could not watch anything on Netflix or Amazon without it buffering every 2-3 minutes. We were on the phone for hours with techs, most of whom ran the same tests over and over again, assuring us our speeds were good, when in actuality they were not.

    Finally found out our radio was bad, and had to beg them to send a technician to come out and replace it. Tech came out and replaced it, was better for a couple of weeks, and then failed again. When we tried to cancel the service, it took 3 calls all lasting at least an hour. They seem trained to wear you out, so you will just give up. To add insult to injury, we were charged an early termination fee for service we never received. Pure robbery. We were told by one "upper level case manager" that we should be able to appeal the cancellation fee once we received a bill. When we received the bill and called to have the cancellation fee waived, we were told we would have to reinstate our service for that to be possible!! The worst company we have ever dealt with.

Then when she went to cancel, they would not take that off of the cancellation fee.     How can this issue be resolved when I have no internet or phone? I used my friend's cell phone but there wasn't enough time for technical support to figure out the codes. I had to go to work.     Your phone system that was sent to me in September 2019 never work. I made contact with you numerous times after getting the phone system with no avail to fix the problem. Therefore, the phone system was useless to me. I was promised that the $24.15 deducted from my credit card would be refunded but after the three weeks it was not. I made contact again with you and the person then stated I was not getting the refund. I am done with Hughes Net period. The only thing ya have done is waste my time and have left a bad taste in business. I have made a formal complaint with the BBB reference your business tactics. You will lose business if anyone reads the review and think twice about what you call customer service. Again, good luck in your worthless words in business and taking care of a past customer.

    Paying almost $225/month and occasionally being able to watch a streaming video without buffering interruptions is not good. When there's a problem, customer service leaves you on hold for over an hour until you give up. I haven't had internet service for 3 days now except a triple here and there (20-30 seconds of video before 3 minutes of buffering).

    I opted out of automatic payments and wanted paper billing. Today (10/27) my debit card was auto billed without my authorization. I contacted HughesNet and they acknowledged that I opted for paper billing and asked for a refund, which they couldn’t do. I then contacted Bank of America and got all future payments to HughesNet stopped. I am also filing a fraud report with Bank of America to get my funds returned. I have no problem paying the paper bill but I refuse to have my money taken without my authorization.

    I am out of the country for 6 months and asked them to put my account on hold for that time. I was told that would be fine. I'm not in the US so I have NO WAY to call them.     I have had this service for over a year. It is the most unreliable service I have ever had. One day it is average, the next day you may have no service at all. Most days it is slow as a snail. I have called support, they get it up to speed and working, within 24 hours they throttle it back. I have never had the service they promised! I would not and can not recommend this service to anyone.

    I spoke with 2 different customer service reps and was told different things about what could be the issue. The problem was never resolved, I am being told there is a service charge if I have a serviceman come over, I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes when I told the rep I fully intended to terminate my services with Hughesnet and hung up because of the long wait.     I live alone. Work 10 hours a day. I am not home at all during the day. I called because I noticed my data was being used. I called and I was informed by a representative it’s being used when I was on the phone at my work. NO ONE is at home. What the heck kind of business is this? The only reason I have this is because I live out in the country and HughesNet is the only service. Ridiculous! Ridiculous! My money/data being thrown away for what?!?
