We continue to pay for a service that does NOT work. WE are expected to uphold our portion of what’s left in the 12 month contract while, so far for the last year, HughesNet has done nothing to fix our poor service, deplorable, unhelpful, yet polite customer care, and overcharge our account drastically! We would rather have zero internet than continue with this company. Does that not send up warning bells for your company? And as for the “specific details” of our service issues, feel free to reference our account. It has at least 10 months worth of unhelpful conversations with y’all. I’d say I’d expect you to contact me regarding our dissatisfaction. However, this is my 5th surgery to fill out without any feedback so forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.

TV, computer and Printer all work via wireless. Phone says it is connected to network and has a strong signal but no access to internet phone service. Can receive calls but caller cannot hear me respond. No bars on phone status.

The Gentlemen that help me was very good and very smart about all the questions I had. He was very good at his job. Don't know what to say. Hughes Net is all right. Your workers are awesome but as a company are not the best. Sorry to say that but when it comes to service you are very slow where we are at.

No customer service, just customer frustration. Hughes has made “holds on the telephone” standard operating procedure – SOP. I’ve been a HughesNet customer for more than 8 years. If you had a problem in the early days, you would be connected to someone in India who just read from a script and couldn’t fix anything. If you were lucky you got escalated up to a tech person in Texas, or someplace in the United States, who was knowable and could fix your problem in short order.
I’ve been lucky in not having to call Hughes in the last 5 years – until today. My son got a new computer and I need more bandwidth, so I called HughesNet to see about changing from my “old” Gen4 to the new Gen5. The first person I talked with put me on “Hold” and never came back. The second call gave me a person who spoke reasonable English, but couldn’t really answer my question, so I was put on numerous holds – then I ask to speck to a supervisor. This resulted in a bunch of 2 minute holds with the first person coming back on the line to say she was still waiting for a supervisor. When I said, “Please give your supervisor my telephone number and have them call me when they’re free”, She said, “I don’t think I can do that, let me check.” That resulted in a 5 minute hold and then a “supervisor” came on the line.
The reason for all this is that as a customer of over 8 years, I refuse to sign a new 24 month contract for a continuation of service with HughesNet, ie I’m not a “new customer”. It’s obvious that HughesNet is Not customer oriented or they would have make some program available for existing longtime customers to move up to the Gen5 system without any expense and certainly without a New Contract. HughesNet will lose me as a customer.

Still haven't receive a call about fixing. It has been a week Monday. It has been act up for over a month now that it has almost use all the time this because all it does is sit a spin. I pay to have a good internet. Maybe I SHOULD look elsewhere.

George ** helped me with my account in a very professional way, and then followed through with not one, but two calls seeing if my account was up and running. I returned the call and of course did not get to George **, but talked with Henry and his professionalism and politeness was very refreshing also. Want to pass on a thank you. I have not dealt with this kind of caring business, customers relationship in years. Keep up the good work.

Came back from being out of the country to no internet. Called. Scheduled an appointment a week out, waiting at home all day. No show, called and was on the phone for over an hour no resolution. Tech support is contracted with a third party that HughesNet has no control over. If I had any other other option I would use it.

HughesNet, 2//22/20. Originally, I had a work order scheduled for installation on 12/29/19. Your office called me and informed me that an emergency came up and could they come out at a later date, I agreed. The install technician showed up a few days later and performed the installation of a wall mounted dish, cable routing into my office and installed a modem.
Before he left, we started having trouble with my wireless security system, the televisions, several computers and our cell phones. I asked you installer, what was going on. His response to me was that he just installed the equipment, but didn’t troubleshoot problems. He suggested that I get a service technician to come out and troubleshoot the issue. As for the televisions, the computers and our cell phones. I just reset the modem they were assigned to and they all connected to your new modem. The only issue, at that time, was that all of the movies and the YouTube videos were buffering all the time. Which had never happened to us before on Frontier.
Since my security system was down, I had one of their technicians, from AMK, to come out to check their system. He performed a complete checkout of their equipment and came up with the issue that the speed of your network was too slow. He ran a speed test and came up with the following results: Download speed was 14.7Mbps, Upload speed was 1.2Mbps and Ping speed was 37ms. His assumption, at the time, was that the network was too slow to handle all of our devices dedicated to the modem. It was at that time that I took your modem offline and reconnected the Frontier equipment, to get back up and running. You see, I had not cancelled my Frontier account until I knew your system was in place and up and running. Your television ads tell people that your system is the fastest in the area, well I beg to differ.
Anyway, this is what brings me to the point why I called your customer service department. I was reviewing my credit card statements and noticed a charge, from HughesNet, for about $160.00. So, I called to find out what the charge was for. I knew I had a card, from HughesNet, for a free installation. I was informed, by your agent, that there was an activation fee and other associated fees that I was being charged for, that totaled out to this figure on my card statement. When I took out the service, it was never mentioned there were to be additional charges associated with the installation. And the fact that the service never worked right from day one. I should not be responsible for this charge.
Well, I was put on hold, several times, for a number of minutes. I was then transferred twice to two other people. The second person said that she couldn’t do anything about the issue. So, she transferred me to a third person. After explaining my situation to him, he put me on hold and then come back and said there was nothing he could do, that I was responsible for the charges. And that was it. Charges were put on my card, without my consent. Plus, I had never received a statement, in the mail, telling me there was a balance due on the account. Had I not been reviewing my card statements, I would never have known that you took my money, without my permission.
In short, I had the system installed. It never worked properly from the start. The installation technician would not take responsibility for even trying to check out the problem. Since I knew I had a 30 day trial period, I called your office and requested a service call. They couldn’t get to me in a reasonable length of time, so I just cancelled the service call and the account.
They told me that they would send me a box to pack certain components in and return to your company or I would be charged hundreds of dollars for the equipment. After I received the box, I followed the instructions in the box and then, shipped it back to you two days later. The point is, a system was installed that never worked from the beginning and I’m being made responsible for charges on a system that I was not able to use. The whole incident looks like and feels like a scam from the beginning. It seems your people are only trained to go by the rules in your book, and are not capable of using common sense when faced with a situation and facts that are placed right in front of their face. With your company, HughesNet, the department you call “Customer Service” is a real joke. Regards, Geary **

Due to a repair need for our roof, we requested that our dish be moved to a separate structure. The service we requested was scheduled and done well, within in a short period of time. Simply stated: We got our need taken care and we are very pleased.

HughesNet is a hugh ripoff!!! Spotty service, offered a cost of $69.99 for 30GB then got billed 95.00!!! After a lengthy phone call talking to two different people they offered 69.52 for 12 months. By this time we were done. Really have no use for a company that uses such deceitful practices. Company completely unwilling to bend on the Early Term Fee even though I was only one month into the agreement. Bit the bullet. Paid the $400.00 and told the customer service guy (Chris) I was going to report them to Consumer Affairs and The Better Business Bureau. He actually said "good luck with that." The $400.00 was well spent as now I never have to deal with them again.

I initially subscribed to the service as I had an outstanding balance on my Spectrum account and I was moving and needed some form of Internet. I live in a small urban town and the overall service is very poor. You go through bandwidth than you may realize and will run out sooner rather than later. Also, the speeds ARE UP TO 25 Mbps, not necessarily running at 25 Mbps as a minimum. The best way to gauge if Hughesnet is recommended would be to talk to Hughesnet Customer Service and see who their internet service provider is. I recently resubscribed to Spectrum at a very cheap $22/month with no data cap or contract. I won't have to stress anymore about running out of bandwidth. Life is too stressful already and Hughesnet is a burden to bear.

After hours and days on the phone with tech support, my issue was never resolved. It was a Hughes modem issue, and support would not acknowledge the problem. I have have since changed service provider and have has not issue, of more speed and data for half the cost. Hughes is not a good fit for rural internet service.

The worst internet provider, customer service is the worst. Their advertising about internet blazing fast out and out lie. They will nickle and dime you to death. Can not provide anything that they say they can provide. AOL dial up is faster than Hughes Net. I had to pay them just to get rid of them. Better off to send message by pony express than using Hughes Net. I have battled with them for 18 months about having a 1.9 MB download speeds.

If I had known Hughes Net would be so slow I would have not signed a 2 year contract. I look forward to when it’s over. It seems ok for the first couple days of the month. Depending on the weather, but we run out of data too fast. We don’t even stream that much. Maybe a few movies a month, maybe a few shows every week. Very disappointed in it.

Had to contact billing dept regarding a notice I received stating that my bank account number was wrong and that they could not get their payment from the bank?? I told them they had been taking the funds from this same account for 11 months with no problems and wondered how the account number could all of a sudden be wrong?? They told me I must have changed it (WRONG). Requested to speak with a supervisor, took 40 min to find one who was not busy. He, was a box of rocks! BTW I taped the entire conversation if anyone in management is interested, which I doubt!

I am happy with the overall installation process of my Hughes Net wifi and the customer service of the installation. They were very flexible and also very quick and efficient too. I have no complaints about HughesNet and would definitely recommend them for anyone whether they be friend or family. All in all I am pleased with my HughesNet service.

I’d recently purchased a new construction townhome where Comcast and AT&T were not yet available and was given information on HughesNet. I work from home and was told by the sales rep that I’d be able to do so with this service. That was not the case AT ALL. The service only worked for streaming my Netflix account. I had only had the service for 2 months and cancelled. Also I had to contact their customer service a few times and all accounts were met with horrible customer service. When I called to cancel due to the service not working for me and being mislead by the sales representative, I was met with a rude representative and a cancellation fee. I was also told if not paid by a certain date it would go into collections. This is a terrible company with terrible service! Please beware!

Lousy internet, constant buffering, increased speed (read cost) three times. Fed up, canceled service, they continued taking $ out of my account. Notify them again "we didn't cancel your subscription because the call was dropped" (read hung up). Now they want $375 early cancellation and $861 for the contract. How about NO! Just walk away! Worst experience ever! Buyer beware.

$214.30 charge for not returning radio equipment located on dish. We sold our property on 11/20 and receive instruction on 12/2 notifying us that we need to return the radio attached to the disc. This request is absolutely stupid. The dish was on the house which we no longer owned and located about 3 stories up on a steep; roof covered with snow. At 81 years old how am I going to do this. I asked your representative to waive the charges and she declined.

Can not get any streaming shows without constant "buffering". I have reset the TV repeatedly basis your advice and still doesn't work. Then you increase the monthly cost by over 30% without any notice. No one at Hughes Net cares enough to get out here and try to address situation.

Was on a different computer, the customer service did not know about being able to upload the Norton Security to a different computer. Was trying to avoid getting on internet on a computer not yet protected. However, by the time the tech had the answer, this information is on the screen when you go to add it as you can use a link to add to a different computer. All in all very satisfied with Hughesnet.

I was promised a 100 dollar Visa Card when I signed up. I did everything I was suppose to do. I sent in a copy of my bill and printed off the paper and filled it out and sent that and my bill to y’all. I never heard from y’all and seen no 100 Visa card. I called and a lady said she was gonna talk to supervisor and She promised I would get it in 7 DAYS. I still don’t have it. Well I feel like I have been given a runaround. Signal going in and out. Well it is still doing it but not all the time like it was. It's only doing it 3 or 4 times per move. It was doing it about 15 to 18 times per move. It will go out for about 4 mins then all at once it will pop back on. I guess I got to keep calling them until they get all the bugs work out. Dewey M

The first month I had it, it worked great to stream. Now anytime after 5 pm it will not load! Very frustrating and unreliable. I feel like I’m stuck with it now, when often my Spotty cell phone internet works faster than My HughesNet.

Got lied to by a salesman saying I had an RV service antenna not a residential one and I needed to switch accounts but charged me 130$. Fucking connection is horrible. Fuck this company and 2 years of of hell I'm gonna have to go through paying for this piece of ** service you guys call WiFi. If I could cancel today without paying the ridiculous charge then I would. Fuck this company sideways and every other way. I hope they go bankrupt.

The service is as bad as dial up. Dial up maybe better. Every time I call I’m told a different date that service renews for the month and that everything is working good. They will not come out and check it. Bad bad service.

Not what I purchased from salesperson by phone. Six persons have very strongly advised me that these problems would be resolved--4 regular customer service (2-3 persons at each call) and two persons in Texas. This is to be CANCELLED TODAY WITHOUT ANY MONIES FROM ME. I am an active 78 hr old who just returned home after two weeks of back surgery. I don't need this inferior service. This has been a storm in my life and has been very stressful to me. This is to be gone today.

The bill was paid and the Internet went out. Don't know what it was so we call the customer service. They said it was part on their problem but they had to verify with a Tech. So they wanted to charge a $125 for Tech to come out and verify that it was their problem. What a joke. Been a customer for two years and they still have yet to get my name right. And this is what they want us to pay for.

Technician did a good job installing the dish and getting system working. No complaint there. My TV is "HighDef: ready". Tech could not figure out how to hook it up...told me that my TV is not High def. It is, but the connection is difficult to find and he couldn't find it.

Bill keeps going up and income is not keeping up. Gentleman was very courteous and made adjustment in a timely and friendly manner. Not happy about outages of service during snow or rain storms. Any issues I have ever had have been handled well.

My internet service is horrible and has been since day 1. Hughesnet will not let me out of a contract even though their service has NEVER worked for me. Cannot wait to be done with this company and will NOT give them good reviews and will ALWAYS steer anyone and everyone away fro this company! In the end, HUGHESNET will lose out on money because they do not have the morals to cancel service without fees even though it's their service that isn't working!

I complained about my internet service being so slow that it sometimes does not even connect to a site before it times out. I got no response from Hughesnet, other than a satisfaction survey. I am very dissatisfied with my service and pay way more than other services charge for HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Also I don't think they should be allowed to limit the download allowance. Hughes is the worst internet I have had in 30 years of computer ownership.

From the operator (the lady that started my order) to the guy that came to installation, Great people, nice polite and efficient.. So far I've been impressed with HughesNet service and look forward to having a long standing business relationship. The lady that started my order really worked with me to see that I received the best possible package and was very understanding and helpful with my situation. I'm going to recommend HughesNet to all my family and friends because Spectrum and the other company that was supposed to be fierce competition have been very disappointing.

My husband is deceased. The account was in his name. I called Hughes Net a year ago in April or May to address a bill I received and the customer service person was going very understanding and took care of the billing issue and waived the fees that I was being billed for. I thought this had been resolved until I recently received a letter from a collection agency? I called Hughes Net after receiving the collection letter and VCD was told that the account in question has a "zero" balance? Please look into this. Other than this issue I have never had any problems or issues with Hughes Net. Always courteous service representatives and always helpful.

I signed up with this company March 2019. It works well for the first week then you are out of data. Nothing loads or will play correctly until the next month. Can’t stream, or go on demand. Each month I call to make my payment and each month they try to charge me double. My bill is like $66 dollars a month and they try to double it each time I call to make a payment. Tonight I had a total of three calls. Took about 35 to 40 minutes. Just to make a payment.
Rep Joe said that I was having problems because I was just trying to pay what I wanted in stead of my bill amount. I continue to tell him that you are overcharging. Spoke to two reps who basically tried to overcharge me. 30 minutes later I get a manager named Enrique who said I did not pay for November or December. (Yes it takes over twenty minutes to get a manager.) I have never missed a payment with these people. If that’s the case why do I still have service? I pay with a credit card. There is a paper trail. How dare them. This has to be happening to someone else. They must be stopped.

They lie. Make sure you record what they tell you. Bad service bad service bad service bad service. They lie. Bad service. People that answer lie to you. Won't let you talk to someone over them. I really wanted the internet to stream games and Hulu and Netflix, etc. I was fine when they told me I couldn't stream games. But it's almost impossible to watch a 30 minute tv show on Hulu without it buffering 20 times. I would love to upgrade my service to Spectrum as soon as it's available in my area. Thank you.

The internet service you get from HughesNet doesn't work good at all. Please if you have another choice take it. I couldn't watch movies at all for the 5 months that I had it. Downloading is really slow if it would even download at all. You call in and they say nothing is wrong with it and when you want to cancel before the service term is up, they will just take the money right out of your account for canceling the service, even though it was their fault that you even canceled the service in the first place. The service guy who set up my service even ask why I was getting service through them because it's not good.

Tried to make a payment via automated machine, as I always do. Ran into an problem & customer service came online. All was fine until I couldn't understand a word she was saying. She kept repeating the same thing. You could tell she could not speak English properly. I kept asking her to repeat herself. It was like a back & forth game. If you gonna have customer service reps from other countries, teach them English better so they can assist the customers. I am from Germany & knew no English. I had to learn but this conversation with this young lady was too much & maddening. Worst call I ever had since being with Hughes Net in 2015. Better training in teaching English is a must. Very difficult to login to security devices. Almost everything works much slower than it did with just my phone as a pass-through device, Our previous service with Dish Network as an Internet provider was much more reliable. I have talked with Customer Service and technician several times on this matter. Most of the time it was with technicians that I could not understand. Their accent or English abilities were very marginal.

The top speed HughesNet provides is not strong enough to work on any of the 4K smart TVs in our house. So every time we tried to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime, it kept buffering every 30 seconds. When I called the customer service line, 3 out of the 4 people I talked to kept talking around the issue saying it was the weather, or the dish's location on our house, or the modem placement in our house.
The advanced IT guy Ceaser I talked to, was the only person who got down to the main issue, and it was that our TVs will not work with the speed HughesNet provides. The cancellation process was over an hour because they kept trying to troubleshoot my internet and wouldn't listen when I said I've already spent three hours on the phone with the end result being nothing can improve it. He also mentioned that I should purchase better TVs instead of cancelling my internet service. I'm very disappointment in the HughesNet customer service representatives, except for the technician who came out and installed the dish and modem. He was fantastic! But the mis-information given to me and the terrible hassle to cancel a service that wouldn't even work, was very disappointing. We will not recommend HughesNet to any of our local friends.

HughesNet covers up what you actually end up with when purchasing their service. Their 2 year contract cost over double the other company and I could only watch "on demand" for about 1 week per month as they turn your speed to CRAWL and all you'll see is buffering. You will pay a lot more than what you discuss when setting up their service. It's a company camouflage not their employees. I will not recommend HughesNet to anyone.

We’ve had things like Directv, Frontier, Verizon, AT&T, but this just does not work. So far, we aren’t even done with the payment cycle and we are already out of normal internet. It’s never worked efficiently and my daughter is going to need the internet for her college classes coming up. The installer was wonderful, I just think this internet is terrible. We should have went with an internet that gave you 100 percent internet instead of 25. I’ve never heard of running out of data. We pay more for this than most pay for internet all month with Comcast etc.. Very disappointed and wish we would have searched around more with a company that gave you free unlimited streaming all month. Keeps telling me connection lost while trying to send, plus we’ve gone over our regular data on our phones because of this service too.

Very unhappy with our internet service. We are unable to watch a 3 minute video without several time outs. Impossible to watch a movie without timing out and getting the message that we don’t have enough signal strength. We Mainly wanted the service to be able to watch a movie at the end of the day without subscribing to Directv or whatever there is available here. Sadly, we will most likely be disconnecting our service very soon.

From the day they installed it, I have had HORRIBLY SLOW internet speeds, way worse than Century Link. I cannot stream movies, my computer just DRAGS on and on trying to load pages. I have called customer services multiple times and have yet to get this resolved. As a new customer, I am very unhappy and if they think I will honor the 2-year commitment, think again. I have had this service for several years now and have had the worst customer service experience with this company of any company I have ever dealt with. Trying to get someone on the phone is a freaking nightmare. Their telephone interface doesn't recognize voice input and you have to go through endless menus to speak with a live person. My latest nightmare is trying to login to my account to check my usage. After a couple of long phone sessions, it was finally sorted out or so I thought. Now I can't login and get the same error messages. I won't even go into my recent nightmares with the dish not holding place and losing the satellite.

I was rescheduled 5 times for my installation then finally happened and he left his garbage everywhere. He does not secure the line so my house has a hole to the outside. After installation, reception of live streaming programming from Sling TV was erratic. Called tech support and was told HughesNet did not do well with live programming. When signing up, was not told about this deficiency. I canceled the service within 4 days. Hughes waived the $400 early termination fee. However, was not happy the $59.98 was retained! More prominent disclosure would have avoided all this!

My problem is not with the installer, but with the performance of the equipment. I had Hughes Net before Gen 4 and it worked better than this. I later had Exede and it was much better then this. I went with Gen5 because I thought it would be faster then Exede. I can't even use Magic Jack because the upload speed is so slow. I don't feel you have lived up to your side of the agreement. It's irritating, you can't even get through a tv show without the service cutting out 8 to 10 times. Takes way too long to load. I'm not even trying to watch HD!! Also, it is suppose to be wifi. If you don't mind it taking forever to buffer a movie then you are okay, but it takes a few minutes. I had an installation date and they called the day before and changed it to three days later. The installer was late arriving by three hours and that was even after I got a message that he would be here at 9:15 am. At 11:00 am I called to see if he was lost and told he would be here in 30 minutes he arrived at 12:30 pm. The service is okay but it is not as fast as described when I signed up for the service and the video game quality is not as good as described.

The tech that installed my service and dish dented my gutter and never said anything about it. He was polite otherwise but I was completely shocked when I went out and saw the dents. There is no mistaking where they came from or that it was him because my gutters are brand new and just put on the house a months earlier. When installation was scheduled, I took a day off of work. Was to be here between 8 & 11. Had numerous calls with the company saying yes, he’d scheduled ~~. He never came and never called. I got a call at 4:30 saying he wouldn’t be here as his truck broke down, yet nobody knew that in the morning? The following Saturday, he was to be here between 11 & 2-/. Called from my driveway at 9:30 to say he was here. I rushed home to meet up with him.
Connection hasn’t been great. I received a call out of the blue saying, "We should adjust your receiver." Made an appt for the following Sunday. Got a call on Friday saying, "We can do it Saturday." Stayed home all day Saturday ~~ nobody showed. Called and was told they would be here Sunday. Didn’t show on Sunday. When I called, tech support says, "It looks like you’re receiving signal just fine!" But reception is still spotty.
Monday I get a call I didn’t answer, cause I’m now a little cranky about the poor service and reception that was supposed to be “so much better than DS”, however, when I get home from work, I see footprints in the snow of boots and ladder to the sat receiver (and also my dog is suddenly very leery of going outside) so I guess I didn’t need to be here after all!! Last night I could get no digital reception to watch any TV, as I have been utilizing just internet TV. This is ridiculous, and I’m seriously considering returning to DSL!??? Tried to send this description ~~ hmmm — connection lost!!

We experienced trouble with streaming. More buffing than streaming. Contacted tech support and he did something on their end that helped reception, but I have not tried to stream anything yet. Left hole in interior wall. Drilled hole in attic that came thru exterior wall and left it. Cable from dish to house is less than one inch below surface. Can see the cable it in spots. Signal is weak and have hard time connecting.

If all you do is surf the web your speeds might be almost adequate. The speeds we were receiving were too slow to stream a movie. Started out ok with very little buffering but towards the middle of movie it was buffering constantly. We were getting audio and no video then the opposite. We received a new modem after 3 days then we tried to stream. We were in our 30 day trial and decided to cancel. We have went back to our previous internet provider Suddenlink.

Was told HughesNet much better than Viasat. We found Viasat to be very inconsistent. HughesNet is consistent, but does not allow easy connection to my DropBox account. Cannot see most of my files -- those I can see take forever to appear, then continue to buffer to play. Same true of many video clips -- even those attached to an email. Where's the help?

My wireless cell network (4G) is faster than HughesNet, it is so slow that web page browsing is difficult. Once I finish my contract I will be disconnecting the service. It is extremely expensive for service that isn’t even mediocre.

Installation was so quick and our installer was so courteous. We live in the desert and this has been an answer to our prayers. Highly recommend HughesNet. We had a WiFi jet pack before that we had to turn on and off and watch how much we used. Not now.

Installation was done, and service has been 100%... no lapse in feed from satellite. We are very pleased with HughesNet! We would recommend HughesNet to everyone. This internet service is 1000% better than our previous internet supplier!!! Our installation was done by Jarred.

Have had several days of slow internet speeds. Also, the IP address is from a different state so I can’t get local channels on my Hulu account. Tryouts not to watch live tv through Hulu is terrible also because the upload speed is too slow.

The installation was very thorough and the installer was amazing. My problem is that it doesn’t work. I can’t watch any videos, it just constantly buffers so it really doesn’t work well and on our cell phones, it work a touch better.

I am not happy with HughesNet! I cannot watch a movie without it buffering. I have called and complained but no fix. Lots of excuses but that’s it! Wish I had stayed with Suddenlink and I hate Suddenlink! I thought that satellite would be great but it’s not. If I was not locked in I would cancel in a minute!!!

Serious lag in connecting to anything web-based. Many times I can't even connect, as it times out. I've upgraded from your older satellite and service, and this upgrade, in my opinion, is not worth the cost, especially after the hyped advertising regarding "fast" internet. This 2nd experience with HughesNet is disappointing at least, and totally unacceptable, and, at $80.00 per month no less! I wish I'd never re-upped for the new "Hughesnet"..what a waste.

I was not thrilled with the installation. He came into my house with dirty shoes on, he then " talked me into" installing it where I really did not want it. I was told that I would have enough to run my security system, already the internet is running slow.

I have a review. Was never contacted. Internet started working better after a week or two. The first few weeks not able to watch one tv much less two. Never received promised gift card. And guy just tried to sell more when I couldn't get internet to work after set up.

It keeps buffering in and out, can only have one thing hooked up to internet, doesn’t work well with cellphones period WiFi, calling people can’t hear you no matter where you're at in the house. It’s just a rip-off.

It took two weeks and talking to three different agents before the last agent solved the problem and handled all of my concerns. It should NOT have taken 3 calls and 2 weeks! I would have canceled my service except for the last, very competent, agent to have me continue my service. It should never have come to this.

I have had problems with my Internet from day one. It is extremely slow even with Hughes Net Internet. Supposedly I’m getting some updated equipment. Will see if that fixes the problem. Outside of that your staff was very helpful.

We have had Hughesnet for about a month. The installation went well and the equipment looks good too. The speed is marginal for TV. Sometimes my ROKU loads and sometimes it doesn't. I realized I might have some difficulties due to speed and latency so am not really disappointed. My computer runs good enough on it so for now I am OK. When checking my usage though, the GIGS seem to add up awfully fast.

Our installation was great, with a very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful installer. The actual internet service is pretty disappointing, I was hoping for better. It is pretty slow most of the time, during the week. It doesn’t work for WiFi phone calls, and is a continuous pause the start, then pause and start when trying to stream even short videos. Then the weekend arrives and the speed drops to crawl speed. My computer often times out, waiting for our turn. I couldn’t be more unhappy with the weekend connection, especially in the evenings. I hope there is a way for Hughesnet to increase bandwidth in this area. It is presently unacceptable on the weekends and disappointing during the week. Thanks.

Internet is spotty, stops, disconnects, little service, bad connection, shows and movies are often blurry and almost always we can’t connect. We are simply not happy so far with this service. About 75% of the time the shows and movies stop and have to reconnect every 5 minutes.

When trying to watch anything on the Roku it keeps buffering. My son can't use the wifi because the signal does not reach his room. Sadly I'm stuck now. So disappointed that I choose them. Wish I did more research and checked out a lot more reviews before choosing them.

The installation was well done except where the location of the wire coming through the inside wall. There was no plate installed and very low to the baseboard. Otherwise, the dish and wiring to the dish was well done.

Was not able to use for most of my games because they were multiplayer. Also, I had issues with live TV freezing and continuous buffering. Also had trouble with the loss of programs and had trouble watching my recorded programs.

The speed I am receiving is not the speed I was promised or as advertised. Can’t even watch a YouTube video with delays. I understood from the beginning I would not have the speed to play p2p first action shooting games etc. Does that include poker sites? Either way my signal is so bad I can not even watch a YouTube video without the spinning wheel of suck.

Internet is slow, can’t even watch Netflix or Amazon prime videos cause it is so slow. Don’t even try to use it on my phone cause it takes forever for anything to load. Internet sucks, would not recommend to anyone.

The internet is always slow. We constantly get buffering on everything for several minutes. We barely can go on the Internet or do much of anything without it buffering, skipping or say "It's loading, please wait!!" It's very frustrating!

The satellite dish was placed in an area that was not safe for my grandkids. It was 1 foot away from our deck at the end of the house. It needs to be moved and since we’ve had the service we’ve had very poor quality in our movies and spotty reception, very unreliable in the evenings when everybody is home and buffs every 2 to 3 minutes.

Ordered with Dish network. Wasn’t told about data caps and the service was horrible. Couldn’t even download the Hughes Net app. Overpriced for the results. Will go without internet before I ever order Huges net.

We can only stream TV shows or movies for a few minutes at a time before it stops. Some days are better than others but it gets quite frustrating especially when we only have one device streaming. We understand this is satellite internet but we did think and we're told that this would be perfect for what we intended on using it for.

The internet is super slow so upset I got into a contract with them. Kids can’t even play on the phones, I feel so bad for them. Takes hours to download new apps on their phone and almost impossible to watch videos on YouTube.

I had higher hopes for internet speed. I find that music and movies while streaming have many pauses to stop for buffering. Service is good but connectivity speed is just so-so. We are happy with our data usage and that seems very reasonable.

Installed quickly and service is so much faster than what we had. Can’t get broadband where we live, so have to use satellite. Was with another company for years and decided to change. What a difference! So happy we decided to switch!

When I orders this service I was told it was far better than Mediacom with faster speeds. It had been installed less than 24 hrs with A LOT SLOWER than what I had plus it buffered every few minutes. If more than 1 device was connected the buffering time was GREATLY increased.

Installer was great. I am a little disappointed in the response of the Hughes internet connection. It seems a bit sluggish. We came from cable and maybe that is the difference, but the response time is quite a bit slower.

I've Never had Internet with good connection like I've gotten from Hughes Internet. I live in the Country and I have 25 Trees in my yard and all around me. I was scared they couldn't help me. But the service tech was SURE of IT. ☺☺

Problems with email within 24 hours of install. Unplugged modem, waited 30+ minutes, plugged back in and email was restored to normal use. Thunderstorm occurred 2 days later, no email during storm duration about 10 hours, unplugged modem again, waited 30 minutes, plugged back in, email resumed to normal usage. Worked well until next storm, repeated procedure. The internet service used previously never had email interruptions. With one speed for both 2g and 5g, my current opinion is that I made a poor choice selecting Hughesnet.

My WiFi is extremely slow not better than Cox at all!!! The technician who installed my equipment stole my lock and I complained and still haven’t received feedback! This company is very poor in customer service! I will never recommend this company to anyone! It’s 2020 but your product is still stuck in the 90s as far as WiFi capabilities.

The WiFi sucks fat **. My Snapchat stories never load, my instagram gram takes forever to load, when it does you can only scroll for like 4 pics then gotta wait 5 min, videos play only for 2 seconds at a time. When I stream videos on my tv, ** does the same thing. Y’alls WiFi eats ** straight up. I’m only with y’all cause there’s no other option right now.

My internet is extremely slow and I’ve tried several times to have you guys fix it and nothing has changed. When I first agreed to getting your service the lady told me that your internet was fast enough to stream videos online, I can’t even watch a 30-second clip on Facebook without having to wait 5 minutes for it to load.

When watching a movie you watch 30 seconds and wait two minutes, watch 30 seconds and wait two minutes. If you can’t fix it, I don’t want it but it’s too late for that because I had to sign a contract so no matter what I’m screwed either way.

Absolutely terrible service. Constant buffering. I couldn’t even send small videos via text from my iPhone. Photos took forever. I called 3 times the first week. No improvement in buffering. I would get kicked off of Netflix and others like that or they’d buffer for several seconds to minutes. I was misled from the start. I asked and was told absolutely no buffering problems would occur. Two weeks and I had to get a good system set up from another company. Even with all the problems, I had to pay the full $400 to cancel. I rarely fill out these type of reviews but I am disgusted and also sad by the falsehoods that HughesNet gave.

Rarely have service. If we have more than one device connected at once we constantly get an error message or constant buffering. Can't connect computers and watch tv at the same time or we have poor service. Made to sign a 2-year contract with horrible service and not that great of customer service.

When streaming movies (which is what I purchased the Internet for) its fine for a while and then it loses connection. The movies buffers a lot, but because I'm under contract there's nothing I can do, but take it for what it is.

Can't pay my bills online, they time me out because the connection is too slow. Ridiculously slow. Haven't been able to connect to my printer since I got the service! I have had internet since the beginning of time, it has NEVER been this slow! It is UNACCEPTABLE!!!

When I talked with the person about getting internet and how much did I use the internet. I said that I used the internet on my phone constantly and then I watched Netflix All the time, that I never watched anything else. She told me that 20GB would be enough! Well I used all my usage in 15 days and my internet on phone has slowed down to nothing and my Netflix has slowed down so low when I do get a movie to come on it goes off and on and restarts again!
I am very unhappy and I called to see if I could get more GB’s and she told me $149. I am on a fixed income, on SS and it it all I can do and more to pay what it is now! If I hadn’t told her what I used my internet for and I was honest it would be different. I am very displeased, in tears over this matter. I can’t afford any more money. I stay at home all the time and this is how I spend my time! I wish you could help me! But she said that you didn’t offer any Senior Citizens Discounts. Thank you for letting me vent!

We have problems with WiFi connection and streaming video is very poor. Even with Dish Network we have to wait over a hour for our On Demand to download. We are considering either going to another service even though we have to pay a penalty for breaking contract. Customer service has failed to respond to our calls. Very disappointed.

Not a strong signal. There is not a clear picture. l thought Viasat was bad, not as bad as HughesNet. I don't like texting so why don't you have a number to call instead of texting. I think you as a company use phone or is phone in another country.

Chatted with representative concerning internet has not worked well at all since it has been connected. Can’t stream a movie or show on Netflix for over 5 min without being kicked off. Can’t play a game on my phone while connected to wifi only. Was told they are showing a storm message and couldn’t get past there. I explained it doesn’t matter the time of day or the weather it doesn’t work. Was told I would have to call back when it wasn’t storming to figure it out. Meanwhile I pay for a service I am not getting. It has rained everyday since then.

I have been trying to reach customer service for over two weeks to no avail. Very dissatisfied! Each time I call the number it keeps asking the same thing over and over. The automated system is horrible. The technician placed the modem in the washroom and the reception is very poor. I need to speak to someone.

There is no information on your site that free 200 international call minutes are only to landlines. As most of the people in the world are using these days cellphones this is useless. We run small businesses from home. Your installation technician told us that we can use your phone service to send faxes, which is not true! We transferred our existing number from AT&T to Hughesnet, and our account with AT&t was closed. Now we have to get a new AT&T phone service and pay for installation and activation again!!!

So customer service isn’t horrible, but the actual service is. Haven’t gotten anything over 4.5 mbps, despite being told they were seeing 20 plus speeds. I don’t even have the speed to do a backup on my phone, the service itself is horrible.

6 times your company was here. 3 hour window each time. That’s 15 hours of my time wasted. The the last visit 3 hour window 8-12. Tech shows up @12:15 here until 3:00. That’s 8 hrs of babysitting and a wasted day for me. Moved the dish from roof to backyard for better service and do not notice any difference. The lady I talked to on phone after service was done to me just didn’t even care now. I’m in the people service every day and the old saying is if you don’t service your customers someone else will.
