I was having issues with my internet connection for a week. I finally called for help on Monday June 30th. The tech support I received was splendid, however, unplugging the unit and plugging it back in only worked temporarily. I am still having issues with the internet connection. Super slow connection when/if it connects. I intend to call again on the 6th of July.

Internet Service and streaming of movies (free or otherwise) is very disappointing. We rarely watch a movie because it takes forever to stream/download a movie. Internet can be lost easily because of weather(?). I get that occasionally, not every other week.

Agent was very polite, patient and helpful. Had to change settings on my router. Seems to have helped with the issues I was having. Unfortunately she cannot verify if my internet is compatible with Sling TV. Other than that she was very helpful.

Often Internet speeds are slow, but eventually we can get most of our emails and Internet based orders completed. And, every call for help has been handled competently, and in a friendly manner. However, we are paying for the 50GB of data per month during the summer so that we can receive streaming videos. In the evening, it is impossible to watch streaming video content due to constant buffering.

The technician was great but the service on the other hand is very poor. Can't even get on Alexa to asked the question of the day. Can't watch movies on my Amazon account or Netflix so the service sucks. You should be paying me just to have your service.

We are concerned when a neighbor can used his name & WiFi to get into our HughesNet router and view our camera when on. Shocked to find this twice in the Hughesnet login area on my computer screen. We have turned off our cameras temporarily and only turn on the router when we need to use it. We will test our camera in a few weeks to see if this neighbor is doing this again. If the neighbor is back in the router I will then take a picture of the screen and file a police report. Sincerely, **.

For two months, my internet data has been absorbed by background DirecTV, making it very difficult to do computer work. The DTV receiver automatically connects to wifi. After several attempts to correct the DTV receiver and TV, several calls to DTV and Hughes net, the Hughes net technician told me I am not the only customer to complain of this and Hughes Net has no way to block DTV. This information allowed me to require another receiver from DTV to stop automatic wifi connections.

Lost signal. Storm blew satellite off direction, After several thorough test they ran on my system, decision was made to send repairman to check system. I was very pleased with the speed it was done, and the patience that was given to me.

I've had Hughes net internet for several years and am very happy with the service. I just upgraded to Gen 5 hoping to get better streaming. Still have some buffering but it's better than it was with Gen 4. Whenever I've called customer service whoever answers always makes sure I'm satisfied before hanging up. At times there's been issues with language barriers but we figured it out.

HughesNet needs a lesson on how to treat customers with respect in regards to the service they provide. My connectivity issue was not resolved therefore, if I want a technician to look further, I need to pay $165 for the visit. I am disgusted.

We can’t watch Netflix or stream anything without constant buffering. Terrible service. It worked the first day and hasn’t worked efficiently since. Very disappointed. We have HughesNet at two homes and it is slow both places. Unfortunately, we have no options.

On Monday June 29th I talked to Customer service about being unable to set up an email account. After 43 minutes I was told that the engineering department would call me within 24 to 48 hours, reference # **. It is July 4th (5 days later) and I still haven't heard from anybody.

After 1 year of service my internet was reduced for an unpaid bill that is not accurate. So I checked my bank statements and saw that I have never missed a payment. I went thru all my old bills with every confirmation number and called customer service to resolve this and from there I can't even describe how terrible this call went. After being rude to my wife and interrupting her and raising their voice at her and how she doesn't understand, we were told that our service is turned off because the bill we "missed" is the one that's due July 15th. This is July 4th. No supervisor available to help. I will be reporting this to the BBB and hope nobody has to go through an experience like this.

Even though I had to get a SECOND HughesNet account to get internet service, no matter WHAT, "technical support" does NOT call back or send someone out when there is CLEARLY a technical problem. Such bad customer support!!! It is a joke. And we tell everyone if we has a choice, we would leave HughesNet. I GUARANTEE NO ONE will read this or respond. You say you care, BUT YOU DON'T!!!!

Recently has been one problem after another. Called to inquire of my internet service, spoke with a representative named Vincent who gave me directions to use up my free GB I had built and after using it, I was charged a bill of over 100 dollars for something I had no idea about being charged for using my free GB I apparently had. Then when I called to remove my card from my account so as to not have that problem & mistake to happen again, they charge a 5 dollar fee every month to send you a bill. It's ridiculous. Whatever you can do to get money from people you have done it and the service isn't that great. Not really happy with this company. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Will probably be looking for other options in the future.

Internet service is rarely down. When experiencing problems I can expect a speedy resolution. Representatives are friendly and knowledgeable on the phone when I call, and are eager to ensure my issue has been resolved to my satisfaction. Technicians are knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly.

Called about a charge on my Hughes account on my credit card for $129.00. Was told there was no record of the charge. If Hughes' name was on the credit card bill why would there not be a record? In the interest of security, I had my card removed and ask for email notification of billing. Was told that I had to have Postal billing for an additional charge of $5.00, and that I could pay online. If I can pay online, I should be able to receive a bill online. I refuse to pay the $5.00. If you want to keep me as a loyal customer, please remove the five dollar charge from my bill. Thanks, Wayne **

I called MULTIPLE times to have connection to Netflix corrected. No one could help me correct the problem. They did little to help. A laptop dog and pony show that my husband had to endure. Did nothing to correct the mess and I am so disgusted that I discontinued Netflix. This was a major fail on your part. The next thing you fail at will cost you another customer.

Satellite needed to be adjusted. The first guy that came to the house didn't correct it. We had to call again. After waiting days for a technician, He had redo the first guy's adjustment and realigned the dish. Our service doesn't allow us to stream movies either.

Was unable to get my paid for connections. Zerek the repair person was extremely helpful and informative. He also replaced my equipment which I did not know about. He called ahead of time to inform me he was with a customer and would arrive within half an hour which he did.

We are very disappointed with the service today regarding our internet connection which is too slow. After being on the phone for almost 3 hours we are still having the same problems. We are paying for service that is not working and this needs to be fixed.

I had a very pleasant experience with your technician. He was very knowledgeable and personable. This tech picked up our call on his way through our town since the original tech wound up tied up on a complicated call. This person that did our work was an exemplary employee in every way. Technician very professional, however, we are not happy with modem/router position. Having trouble getting good reception in each room. Will possibly need to relocate. All contacts have been great. I am sure we will be able to work things out over time. All Hughes contacts have been great.

Due to a TV accidentally left on, all of my data was used when nobody was at the house. Tech support temporarily turned it off for me. Today's call was to turn it back on again. The tech support agent was very helpful in getting my Internet/wifi turned back on.

Works fine. When you live in the country with the need for digital technology, and have little choice of quality internet for a tight budget; satellite fits the ticket! We found that we need at least 30 gig to operate our computers, and TV.

The service tech was excellent - on time and efficient. He explained what was done and what we needed and didn't need. The phone help before was also excellent. I talked with a young man in the Philippines. He spoke very good English and was very polite.

Updating payment info. I didn't want to take time to open account online to make my updates. Sorry. I'm old, my husband recently passed, and I get frustrated sometimes setting up new accounts. The CS helping me on the phone was courteous, and explained he himself was not authorized to take my info, and proceeded to get a supervisor. This person also was patient with me and helped get my info revised. When both conversations began, I had a bit of trouble understanding what they were saying. So I asked them to speak a little slower, and I was then able to understand.

I have an Airbnb and my guest needed it for his work. I upgraded and the day they checked in they could not connect! Called and went through all the steps, nothing! Was promised a tech would call to come out and repair. It has now been 4 days and no call, no nothing! I finally figured it out as my guest were going to leave! I stressed the importance of this and was promised a call within 24 hrs. Bad customer Service!

I had a question about my internet not working. I paid my bill but my internet is not working, The girl was very nice. Explained why it wasn't. She was very sweet. I love Hughes Net but am not happy. I can have it till the 10th when am suppose to pay my bill. So I have to deal with slow speed till then. Maybe one day that will change. Give her 5 stars.

Service is pretty good. Only real problem I have is I can’t receive emails at that email address. Tried calling about it and she hung up on me so I still can’t receive emails. I would like it more if I could actually take advantage of email. I have it being used for password reset for some accounts and now can’t access them because that email is for reset and well can’t get temporary one with not being able to access it.

I know this is satellite internet but the commercials made it sound high speed. However I find when I was trying to work from home with work computer, the system is very slow. Also there is lag time when using the Jabber phone if that worked at all or using WhatsApp.

The signal to my Wi-Fi is lost on the regular basis even on clear, cloudy, sunny days. This happened during the day and during the night and I have to move into certain spots in my house in order for my phone to work properly.

The signal only works some time and it is slow for most of the afternoon. It would be great if it was fast enough to download Netflix or Hulu but you get halfway through a movie then it starts buffering.

I called to inquire why our monthly bill increased by $15 this month. The customer service rep explained that our 2 year special price had expired. When I explained that due to Covid 19, I had lost my job, the rep looked to see if there were any promotions available to maintain our initial price. While there was nothing available, he could extend our special pricing for 90 days. This is very helpful, as I am applying to new jobs online, using our internet access.

I Zoom daily and there is a delay in transmission. Worked with Hughes Net and it is a feature they are unable to resolve. They were very helpful and kind but unable to resolve this. Appreciate their response and help but don't appreciate the delay.

System is still a "little to slow". It takes some time for pages to download. I don't know if it is your network or the site I am trying to reach or ??? Always a problem when the weather is bad. However, my phone service problem has been fixed. The HELP online site is very helpful!

I had to change my debit card and while waiting for the new one my account came due. They arranged to delay my payment to give me time to receive my new card. I changed the card as soon as I received and was able to pay my account at that time.

My AT&T Digital Life camera stop recording live view due to new software updates. I called traditional cable companies, and was told I stay in a dead zone. I decided to call Hughes Net and was able to get Satellite Internet right away, and now I'm able to view my camera in real time, browse the Internet, work from home, and check my emails.

Oh. Didn't have good transmission; the satellite was terribly slow; the amount of money I was paying for horrible service and horrible transmission was upsetting to say the least. Then I found a more helpful technician (Hughes) who helped and guided me on more issues and it is doing better now.

Customer service was wonderful (after initially receiving bad router), but cost was too much for slower connection speed and data limitation. We could not continue constant surveillance of speed loss. We are glad the service is available for those without cable, but we would not want to need this service again. Thank you.

Was having connection problems and found out it was signal being blocked by tree limbs. I am waiting now for tree removal company now for removal of limbs. I trimmed some but need more trimmed for better signal. Very nice service man who came.

In the future your customer reps should take all information given to them seriously. And be fully transparent of all future expectations. Although they are polite, the cell number I gave with instructions not to call my home phone with my reason why was not observed. I was expecting a call from tech on my cell from Hughes. I was not informed a dealer contact would be calling my home. So I missed two tech calls. I’m still waiting for internet service.

The technician who came out to do the install was very professional, knowledgeable and very precise in his abilities. There were some issues with the equipment but he steadfastly worked on it until all the issues were resolved, even in the triple digit heat.

Love my new service. I don't know why it took me so long to switch my service to HughesNet. And I'm trying to tell my family and friends about it. The tech guy Ron did awesome job explaining everything to us. He was friendly. When I called to change my service the young lady that I talked to was very helpful. My equipment was changed out three times before I found the problem myself. The techs that came out. Only got the system up for a few days until it failed again. None of them ever saw the bad cable end coupling. I bought a new one and fixed it myself.

This year I have experienced too much "DOWNTIME" because the Receiver or the Modem was not operating as it should have been! Twice, a technician came to my home and played with the antennae and the modem. He got the internet up then left! Last week, a young lady tech, had me to replace a cable. As of now, my internet is up and working! So as for this moment, I am happy with Hughesnet! If it should go down, I will consider asking you to come and get your equipment! My monthly premiums are much too high for the service I am receiving!

I find that my laptop performs better at speeds above 50mbs. If you could make one improvement, it would to increase your speed to 100mbs. Upload speed could also be improved but I expect that the upload speed would improve with the download speed.

The service is very spotty. The router has to be booted up many times. When trying to stream an Amazon movie the movie would never load. Netflix doesn’t load. I’m very dissatisfied with the service. When I submit this will someone contact me about this problem. I’m very dissatisfied.

I talked with a service person and they said in a hour or so my receiver would reset then all will work good. Well that is not the case at all. I canceled Netflix because the movies spent more time buffering than not. My wifi signal is very weak. Is about time to find someone who can give me internet service. I give Hughesnet almost 100 a month for phone and internet. Phone works good. Sorry but internet sucks.. It has for day one. I've talked and texted many times. Yet nothing is done. I tried to update my Payment Type info and was not able to do so using the Payment Type screen. The only way I could update my credit card was via a customer service rep. I prefer using the online app to update my info.

Frankly, for several weeks after we had to move our dish/reflector after roofing work, service was terrible. Several phone calls and tech visits were very frustrating. Finally after all that time over 3 months or trying to get them to help properly, Hughes sent a young man named Dustin who repointed the dish to a different satellite. The difference was amazing and wonderful. It is hard to rate this because until that final visit, I would have said 1 star,. It is only because the last tech who came to our home, is it 5 stars

The installation team was amazing! Very competent and worked together well. And while this service is twice as fast as the one I replaced, it's still not as fast as I'd hoped for. I'm happy with it, but still wish it could be faster but think that's the limitation of a sat based internet.

Service Issue - Slow Connectivity - Resolved. Trying to watch Netflix movie speed was .003, this was not resolved. After call speed was still .003. The only way it was resolved is when I told your customer service rep that I was disgusted with this service and that I would be shopping around. Does that sound like it was resolved. Maybe to Hughes Net, but not to this customer.

It has been working well so far. The installers were friendly, polite, and did a good job. I was dismayed that I had to pay them $40 to have the 2 old discs removed from my house, though. Because when I called to order the new service, I was told the old discs would be removed for me, but was not told there would be a cost for that (this is a home we recently bought - the previous owner left two Dish brand discs on the house). Luckily I had the $40 to pay them, but I was not prepared for that, and it was all the money I had on me that day.

I can not stay online long enough to finish your survey because it takes too long to download. Please come adjust the device to fix the problem. It is getting slower and slower. There is a very real problem here. The device has not been adjusted since it was installed. I would like very much for your service people to please come and adjust the device to get more service. Spoke with 3 on that day. The first one I spoke with was helpful and very courteous. The second one was a female who told me basically to do my own troubleshooting and call back in 15 minutes if it didn't work....not helpful at all. The third one a male was about as helpful as the second one....not at all! I did not complete the survey because I didn't want to say anything negative about the first Agent I spoke with...I believe his name was Mark...very polite and knowledgeable! The last two were neither.

Our WIFI signal strength is poor. We set less than 10/15 feet from the WiFi with our AT&T cell phones and we get at best 1-2 bars of service. At times we will even get the messages, "Internet Service Unavailable", "Voicemail Temporarily Unavailable" and at times we can not send or receive text messages. I tried for about 30 minutes to send a couple text this morning and with even setting my phone a LG V20 against the WiFi/Modem. It has been this way for quite some time now. We've called a couple times about this and have ask if there is an upgrade available. We can get excellent service if we when we leave home and are just driving around.

When we signed up from day one could not connect to the internet. All it did was buffer over and over had two bats at the most at any given time. Worse company we have every dealt with. Want it removed since their system doesn’t work.

We are semi-happy... We now can use multiple devices simultaneously which was not the case with our previous internet provider, BUT the constant, slow buffering is a major problem that has not been alleviated by the switch to. The constant, slow buffering makes watching anything On Demand too much of a hassle and it also results in slow response time when calling up program information.

My wife and I lived in a 950 square foot loft. We are paying for maximum internet coverage. Yet the speed is too slow. We expected more from your company and are not satisfied. If things do not improve, we will be forced to change companies at the end of our 2 year commitment.

From ordering to installation it was a great experience. The installer was fast but tough. He cleaned up after himself and answered all my questions. Hughes has partnered with another satellite tv company which made ordering easy as I needed both t.v. and internet. Thank you Hughes.

I needed to add some time to my internet. I tried to use the buy token on your website. Couldn't get it to respond so I called the help line. It was not helpful at all. He said I had to do it on the web page. I'm unclear as to why I couldn't purchase them from a rep, it is way too hard to get anything done!

I installed Gen 5 about 2 weeks ago, and nothing but problems ever since. I have called customer service about 8 times, no closure or remedy. Our internet is so slow cannot buffer movies nor join in Zoom meetings. Thursday we were sent to Engineering again, and told a call back would happen in 1-2 days, third day and no call. G.

Since I do not have DSL in my area; this was my only possible choice. I am constantly looking for other options at all time. This is the most reasonable priced company for my needs. I received prompt and excellent repair service from Christian General Services. Christian ** and Tommy did a terrific job getting my internet service restored in a timely and efficient manner. They also service Dish and Vivint.Smart Home. Their office number is 817-717-9672. They repair Home Alarms, TV, Internet, Phone, Roofing and Networks. They are very good at their job and they don't mind answering customers questions. They are real nice and honest people. I highly recommend them.

The internet is for our church. We have a metal building. Works great. The signal picks up good. We are limited to providers in the area of the church. Glad Hughes Net was the provider. Congregation is pleased. We have to do services on Zoom now thanks Hughes net.

I have had to call customer service several times and still have not resolved the issue. We have not been able to get speeds fast enough to stream tv show episodes or movies on HBO Max, Youtube (consistently), Netflix. We upgraded our package to 30GB/month and ever since, consistent speeds have severely dropped. I do internet speed tests which are dismal where they had been consistently so good, I bragged about Hughesnet. I do not have the time to call customer service and wait on hold for 15-30 minutes time and time again.
We expect better from hughesnet because it was better. Is it the shift to work-at-home by so many people now? Is it the switch to 5G service? Whatever it is, we need to be reimbursed for the cost of the last few months being unable to maintain the speeds we had been used to for years. I have had a rep on the phone with me, tweak my settings and it has helped for that hour but later it drops speeds again. Daily issue, daily problem, making us quite irate and unhappy with this internet service.

First off the install wasn't exactly done properly. The installer installed the dish and required cable. I told him to keep the cable underneath my vinyl siding which just snaps out to slide cable behind. I did this and showed him where cable had to go into my house. He then drilled through my siding and went to the outside of siding through it with adapter. I have no idea why he went through my siding from the outside after feeding cable behind siding. I will have to replace the siding myself which has not made It didn't make me too happy. The Ping of the internet is way too slow. It was going to take my wife hours for a download as oppose to three minutes with Verizon.

I'm very happy. No buffering, speed good, data usage good. I am very pleased with picture quality. My last service was slow, frequent buffering and at times could not even connect to wi-fi and I paid more. So far this plan and speed work for our family. I would recommend Hughes Net.

My router stopped working. I called and talked to a lovely man who told me they would send someone out to fix it, without charge He even wanted to credit my account for the 5 days I would be without service. I suggested they just send me a new router, but he said they would rather send out a technician. The tech showed, replaced the router and said he checked the dish and the support arm had been installed backwards, so he 'fixed it'. Service was even slower than before.. O'well. 18.89 upload and 0.91 download... mud! I look at my bill and they charged me $125.00.
After 45 minutes and 2 supervisors they gave me a credit, refused to refund. I took my service off auto pay, $5 a month charge, but I lost all trust. Just for the heck of it I had my girlfriend who also has Hughes net call them and said she had the same problem, they told her they would send a tech to her house FREE of charge. They are crooks! I know people don't always check their bills and they are ripping people off!!!!

The only trouble I have is I can't pay my bill with my phone. My bank number has more digits than is allowed in your billing system on phone. It says 10 to 12 digits and my account has more digits. It just causes me more trouble.

When the Tech arrived to install my Dish/HughesNet service, he had been given the wrong GPS coordinates. In fact, the whole work order was in a mess. He could not install the Internet service until the work order was cancelled, my refund posted, and then I had to call and get a new work order prepared, which took a few days. No problem with the Dish service. When the HughesNet system was installed we learned that the coax cable in the house was not adequate to the job, and had to go full wireless. The 20GB service I purchased is SSSLLLOOOWWW. It's certainly not up to streaming movies, and I am frustrated every time I try to surf the net or even pay bills online. So, no, I'm not a happy customer.

If you live in the country, do not expect to receive advertised speeds. If it rains or is cloudy, no signal. Customer service is okay, but you pay for it. Not a good value for the monthly fee, but is better than nothing.

Maintenance to roof attachment wind blew off. Had to come and reattach with longer screws. Don't know what else to tell you. Guy came out. Crawled up there. Screwed in new screws to hold it to the roof much tighter.

When you call and ask them to do something they don't listen. They do what they want and I was told my bill was 71.84. After two years it went up 10.00. I had to take another 2 years contract to get the 10.00 removed. My sister in law was going to cancel and you lowered her bill to 49.00 and no contract. I don't think that is fair.

Had called and been told that we could get Gen 5, price 49.99 modem would be shipped. Called back cause didn't receive modem, guy checked. Said modem should be delivered 6/20, still nothing, called again. Told there was never an order put in for us to receive modem or Gen 5. If we want it, it is 59.99 a month and don't get much more than what we have. No thanks. Have been with Hughes Net for quite sometime now.

I subscribed to Hughesnet after having problems that could not be fixed with my original ISP (AT&T), after subscribing to this I love it. The very short delay from the modem to the satellite is not an issue and seem to be very fast and reliable, the only issue I see is when we have a really bad storm in the area it sometimes cuts out, just like Directv does which is no big deal for me since it is short lived here where I live in Florida.
I have read several bad remarks/comments about this service but I have not many any issues with it and the Technical support people if you do have an issue or question is very helpful... If you want a great internet by satellite service, Hughesnet is for you... Don't believe all the bad comments that you hear, some people will say anything to bring down a successful company. Our Florida Lottery is ran by Hughesnet and they have great service so I thought i would give it a try as well... sure glad I did and you will too.

My cellphone service is 4g. The Hughesnet service runs on 2g or 5g. When using my cellphone I have to turn off my WiFi because the cell service does not work well. This is very very inconvenient. Other than that I’m happy with the service

My internet was down and could not be fixed without someone coming to fix it. Before they got here it started working. They checked it out and made a small adjustment to the antena. This was on a Friday, on Sunday it was down again. Called again and was told that needed to have another modem sent to me, still waiting for it. It works sometimes and sometimes it does not. I guess I will start looking for a different internet provider since I can not get the service all the time that I pay for.

As with most people, we depend on the internet for a lot: education, work, entertainment, etc. The allotment of high speed data is low & gets used very quickly in our household. The throttled speeds are better than nothing but then we must schedule who gets to use the internet at a certain times. The bonus hours (12AM - 8AM) are almost useless since that's the time our family must sleep for our work or school schedules. Hughesnet needs more satellites to provide reliable high speed internet ALL of the time. A higher fee would be worth this feature.

Video quality is poor. The video does not show clear and it does not load. It is very slow at loading. We cannot do online streaming. It would play for a few minutes and take time to load again. We have tried streaming on multiple devices but it remains the same across all devices.

I know that towards the end of the month the service starts running really slow. I believe if you pay for speed, that speed should last the whole month, not just at the beginning. The overall service is okay. Also, a lot of the time, my devices tell me that the internet is reconnecting or I lose access and have to reboot or just wait. It is very irritating.

We have two dishes. Three different agents on three calls made by me could ever figure out how to do a work order for each dish to be realigned after roofers were done. The first agent said that one work order was fine and to just be sure to tell the company that there were two dishes. Nope. Company said they need two work orders. Second agent got angry with me, kept saying “just one minute” then announced it was all taken care of. Nope. Company called, never received second work order.
Third call by me the agent said “I need to talk to my supervisor and I will call you back." Called me back. Said it’s all done. Nope. He sent two work orders to a second vendor in spite of me repeating the name multiple times of the company who was sent the first work order. So the result of their efforts was three work orders sent to two different companies. Brilliant. What a total disaster. The left hand is clueless what the right hand is doing, and neither listen to the customer.

I have been trying to set up a online account for weeks now and the system reads error when I try to submit. I called to try and get this resolved and was on the phone for 45 minutes. The person assisting me was very nice and tried to help but was running into the same problem. I am still having this issue, someone needs to fix the website. Updated 07/12/2020: This installer was much better at understanding how to install internet cables. Since the first drilled into the side of my new house, this second installer was the one sent out to fix the problem. He was very professional and courteous. When I called HughesNet, though, they wanted to charge me for someone to come fix their own damage.
Original Review: Before installer even began, I told him multiple times that there already a cable for him to simply plug into because it’s a brand-new build. Wiring is already there. DISH already installed perfectly, just had to connect wire. My installer chose not to listen to me and went ahead and drilled into the side of my house to run a wire from the roof to the box; all he literally had to do was plug into wire already there. I had the electrician place wires there intentionally to AVOID drilling into BRAND. NEW. HOUSE. Literally infuriated about this but HughesNet doesn’t care to contact customers back.

I have problems with my cell phone now, that I didn't have, and I don't know what caused it. I reset my network twice on my phone. I really don't know why different Internet service would do this.

I lost my job due to COVID-19 as many other people did. I still paid my bill even with no income until I had to move because I couldn’t afford my rent. Hughesnet did nothing at all for their customers!! They charged me $310 early termination fee. The service was terrible and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone at all!!

Internet is so slow I can’t work from home. I’ve reached out for help multiple times since March 2020 when I started working from home both online and phone calls to HughesNet. There’s not enough internet for me to load emails or check apps or shop online. Emails load slow and can’t seem to load an attachment. Apps like FB can’t load images or videos, ordering online with Amazon is impossible because pictures of products don’t load. I spend unnecessary HOURS trying to do these things at home. If it weren’t for my cell phone I’d be in a huge mess. I have spoke with someone in my community that has HughesNet while they were visiting my home, they are pleased with their service and advise me that the satellite seems to be blocked by two oak trees.
The Dish satellite is farther in the years past the 2 oak trees. I feel like the 2 guys who put in the satellite just stuck it in the ground near the edge of the wave of the house so they didn’t have to dig a hole and bury wire. I’ve mentioned this during EVERY phone call to HughesNet but the reps tell me there are steps to take....still no satisfaction. Could someone let me out of this lease and disconnect fees? I need to find a carrier that can meet my needs.

We've had terrible service since we subscribed, five years ago. The first installer failed to seal holes in roof and our ceiling was ruined from rainwater. Next, our modem went bad. Last complaint was for very slow service, took too long for HughesNet to get back with us. Finally got a serviceman in who was very good. Our dish apparently has NEVER been properly aligned until now.
Service had been so slow that I couldn't close tabs, regularly got message, "not responding," was losing work. I frequently left tabs open often when I went to sleep. I found out that I'd exhausted our download credits as a result of the problem that HughesNet had caused. I am extremely unhappy, though the last serviceman seems to have fixed the problem and we presume he didn't put any new, unsealed holes in our roof. I would like a call from service or billing. Thank you. (I just got a message: "Connection lost, please try again.") I need to talk with a live person in the United States.

Needed help with a code. Lysenia was very helpful in asking questions about my problem. As we continued it turned out my problem was not with Dish but with HughesNet and she kindly transferred me to them, where I got all of the help I needed.

Two payments made. First payment made on June 17th. The 2nd payment on 21st June autopay. I'm on billing only. I only put my new card because my old one was stolen. No one would listen to me. The employees kept on changing the subject. They were very rough to me. Wouldn't listen at all. Wouldn't check on my payments at all. They some more training.

The person that help me was very nice and helpful in the upgrade. It just that he was outside so you could hear the wind when he was talking to me but everything was good. I got the upgrade. I had the old plan for 3 years now so this new plan will help me with the kids' schoolwork.

I called in to get an explanation of my data usage. Of course there is a language barrier I'm in Georgia and he has a foreign accent. He hangs up, because I'm asking my son to come tell what speed data we need for his school assignments. These people want our money but get offended so quickly because we want a breakdown of how these services work! I'm thinking about switching carriers! Rude and we don't get along!!!

I've been treated unfairly, by this company. My name was sent to collections, after they withheld updating the bill so I could pay the cancelation bill. I paid the bill and was sent to collections after the company withheld the updated information out for two months. I am very unhappy with this service I received. I need this to be rectified as soon as possible with nothing added to my credit. I am looking further into what can be done about these actions.

The agent was very knowledgeable. She was helpful in getting my account settled. I'm very happy with the results. She helped me update my information. As well as help me with a account to check my payments. I'm glad to be a HughesNet customer.

The representative did an excellent job informing me of several things. I guess I just need to understand exactly what does unlimited mean. I was told that several times I’ve run out of data, and then I was explain about the upgrades. Either I have it or I don’t. I guess I’m just having a problem accepting slow performance.

I called Hughes Net to let the technician know that I did not have internet connection. He checked my account and fixed the problem. The technician ran tests to find out what was going on. The issues were fixed. My internet is working now. Thank you.

We had slow speeds from the time we were hooked up. Now it a little faster. We can do some of what we need but with Covid I know there are a lot of people using the net. I was given two month free for our trouble. That was fair. Will be much more happy when speeds are returned to full. Still a little slow from what we had. Thank you. Mary

When a storm passed through I lost my internet, after it passed internet came back on. Then off again then on. Rebooted modem, reset modem, internet came back on. Weather related? The lady helping great, but thought it was weather related. Problem may still be happening. Sun shining for couple of hours now and still going off and on. When off the system light on modem is dim, when on system light is bright, all others are bright.

We already have Viasat/Exede but run out of space every month, so we decided to add Hughes as well. We tried it for 20 days and HUGHES WAS HORRIBLE from the day we got it to the day we disconnected. Watching videos required a great deal of patience due to constant buffering. We paid $519 for the service and may get $200 back when they receive the equipment we pay to ship back.

Billing is done one month in advance. So when you go from a suspend service to a regular service you are billed for two months. Service is quite slow as well, and I pay too much money for such slow service.

I called about my speed and found out I was over my limit. I never streamed movies etc but found out that my home physical therapy on Zoom had used up my data. I was told I had to pay basically $15 for every biweekly session for 5 meetings until I got my data back. They wanted to check my reception and said there was an issue with the dish and modem and set a technician to come out. He arrived, very unfriendly, no mask and said nothing was wrong but replaced the modem. The next day and since then the upload speeds stays around 0.20. I then called to find out why that happened and spoke to a rather rude person who told me that was normal. I had my speed test results for over two months and it had never been that low, usually close or above 3mbps. She said it was cloudy here.
I tried to explain that it had been going on for several days at different times and with clear skies. She said I was just too particular. She put me on hold several times to talk to a tier 3 person. She came back several times to “explain” it to me. She said I was too particular and that traffic and weather made it low. I could not get across to her that it just started doing that after the modem was replaced. I only called to find out why it changed and spent over an hour getting no answer. I have a HughesNet sign in my yard and have recommended HughesNet to several people on Nextdoor for 1600 neighbors, several times. I had zoom on my computer several times, but after the modem was replaced, I cannot connect. It tries to connect then says connection lost.
I have to FaceTime physical therapy on my phone. I am very disappointed by my experience with Your agents. I will never recommend your company again and have posted my experiences With your company recently. I had no problems for 3 years and speed was always good. I hadn’t called to complain about service in the first place, but I have been treated rudely by your people. The technician asked why I wanted him there as nothing was wrong. I told him the phone rep tested it and said there were problems. I didn’t say to anyone that I had problems. I was very embarrassed from his attitude Toward me that his having to come up here and nothing was wrong. Unfortunately I don’t have any other reliable service to me where I live. So I’m stuck.

I can't even watch a video. Takes forever to start players for about 30 seconds and stops, 30 seconds, starts, 30 seconds, stop. I get so frustrated I just quit trying to watch it. I am really sorry I got Hughes Net. Wish I had keep Viasat. If it doesn't get better when my contract is up I will go back to Viasat.

Excessive buffering! We often have to stop watching a movie or other program because the program is interrupted every minute or two. This occurs most frequently in the evening. The service technician we worked with was hard to understand and was asking us to do things that were above our level of competency.

We decided against using Hughesnet because the installation department canceled our installation without even calling us. WE WERE HERE ALL MORNING AND AFTERNOON RECEIVING PHONE CALLS FROM EVERYONE BUT HUGHESNET. Obviously, no one cared to call and then lied to say they called. We do not want this kind of disrespectful, dishonest service.

When I spoke with the Hughesnet sales rep I was assured that their service would support my ZOOM calls. The agent also assured me that he personally used multiple hours per day of video watching and never exceeded his data allowance which was the same data allowance level I was considering. After I subscribed and discovered that ZOOM calls with 3 or more participants had occasional broken audio and that the video was mostly frozen. Before the end of my first month of service I called to cancel and was told that I was subject to a substantial early termination fee despite the fact that I was fraudulently enrolled in a service that did not match what I was assured would meet my described expectations. Each month I quickly exceeded my data allowance and was subject to the throttling.

All programs on Netflix watching live or recording to watch later. Your agents tried explaining about data points?? Also, everything is very slow to respond to commands, meaning tv and computers. I get messages like 'please wait while video buffers and please wait preparing video for playback' and this has been happening since the first day of installation?? This is just not acceptable.

It sucks as there is no internet, the only you can get internet is when the leaves are off the trees and you are in the middle of a field. I the middle of a dessert and you are cutting for help so you can receive a signal.

Installation was disappointing: Did not locate the modem centrally where we desired. Hit an electric line while drilling access hole and blew a circuit breaker (did not reset breaker or repair insulation on Romex cable). Left input cable draped across access door to circuit breaker box. Streaming standard services is also disappointing: we have not been able to stream Youtube or Netflix without delays, interruptions, or instructions to try again later.

Your horrible service and customer service has ignored my multiple verbal and written request to a cancel my Account! Both times I was actually able to get to a person in the phone, I told them to cancel my account, they spent 10 minutes ignoring me and trying to change my mind then disconnected the call and didn’t cancel my account! HughesNet is using COVID as an excuse to also not Cancel my Account and has ignored all my written requests to cancel my account! The guys that dismantled the equipment to send it back to the company told me that they are not in charge of the equipment. They said that I had to send by mail. I called the company and they said an opposite version. They told me, they will call me to resolve the situation. My case # is **.

Internet service is terrible. WiFi will not stream a song without stopping 3-5 times. It is impossible to stream a movie. The system will not even start to streams movie without stating no internet available. Even very slow DSL from AT&T was better.

I was very discouraged that the previous tokens were removed. If I pay it earn tokens they should remain available to me. We pay a high premium and should have some benefits. Thank you. Cameron did a fine job but could not give a suitable answer.
