I work in customer service. I have repeat customers I see week to week. They come back because I deliver the real deal. In retail, you can shop anywhere. Still, they come back. A new face deserves the same one on one service every customer deserves. Hughes Net makes me feel I've made the right choice. As a new customer, my concerns and questions are answered knowledgeably, courteously and in high regard to my buying decision. No buyers remorse here. Thank You Hughes Net.

No fifth star, why, not able to get Called ID on my smart TV from Hughes (Phone) Voice.. WiFi is working, Hope Hughes Net will be able to get the Called ID at a later date. I have got an echo on my phone a couple of times.

I pay close to 100 a month for this satellite internet. 10 days into the month I have no data left. Most of what I watch is not streaming. It's slow and frustrating to try and work online. Some of the customer service reps are rude.

It has been over a week of waiting for the installer to contact me about installing my internet. I had to call in twice to customer service to check for an update and no one seemed to know how to fix the issue. Ridiculous and unprofessional.

Representative was very courteous and helpful. He was extremely considerate of my financial hardship due to the COVID virus and was able to help me to restore my service. Other than the slow connections I have at times I am very satisfied with my service l.

Your associates don't seem to know what they are talking about. From Tech Support to Account Management I kept being given different answers. Some were incorrect others told me different every time. The only one who seemed to know what he was doing was the installer.

Where I live in the country, HughesNet is my preferred provider...Tried AT&T and their price was terrible, plus, they insisted that I bundle, but no cell reception here... HughesNet is fast, and reliable, hold their prices, and their customer service is excellent...

The main issue is I'm getting the highest amount of data that was offered to me but my kids still blow through it way before the next billing cycle. Then the next concern is even when there is plenty of data the signal isn't very good at all. Also I'm paying for phone service I can't even use. It stopped working a few weeks ago.

The technicians who worked on my equipment did well. They knew how to put everything together. The installer made sure it worked when he left. The IT tech I spoke with later looked up my TV so he could help me understand how HughesNet works on my TV. I needed help with that. He advised me on setting up my settings.

Having to adjust to the slower speed than we were accustomed to with Verizon but are happy with the unlimited data we have now. Also we are not accustomed to losing signal when there is bad weather in our area.

The installation and startup was well done and did not take long. The main reason I am trying Hughes Net is that in my area out in the country , I have very little Internet. The speed you provide is excellent, but performance is substandard. I can perform all my email and business function liked they should be performed. But one of the main reasons I purchased was that I want to stream movies and shows, plus use Zoom to talk with my grandchildren that I am not allowed to travel to visit. I wanted to stream Disney+ , but always buffers. I finally gave up and talked to Tech Services, so they made some adjustments.
They advised me they have trouble streaming Disney+, Netflix, and few others. They said that Hughes is working on the problem. Why didn't Hughes list that on system explanations. I needed that to make my purchasing decision. After monitoring the system speeds I found many times during the day I can not use the internet because there is no signal for about 30 seconds. I always thought that the signal would be constant. The end result is that I can live with the system because it is much better than Verizon.

When I was waiting for a closing date to consolidate debt, Hughes.Net was so understanding and helpful. I'm happy they are my internet provider. They are efficient, personable and try to assist as much as possible. If not for them, I could have lost my internet service.

I called because my bill was higher than last month. The young man I spoke with informed me that I was given a discount when I joined Hughes Net and that it was running out therefore my bill was higher. I told him that I was not informed of this when I opened my account. I am on a fixed income and AT&T was much too expensive, that was the reason I switched to Hughes Net because they were lower. The young man told me that he could give me another discount for two months. I thanked him. He was very kind and understanding.

I am reasonably pleased with the service but the download speed is not very good. I was hoping for better upload and download speeds. Maybe this can be improved which would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully someone will contact me in this regards.

My internet, slow to 1.05. Having trouble connection bad. Need stronger wifi, internet connection. No 5G here. I'm in dead zone area. Need to keep my internet dish. But need wifi booster. For the whole house make worth 108 month other then it ok. Have need pay less for what it worth. With insure/taxes stuff y'all tag with. Maintenance fee free.

Our bill is high, our internet sucks as it is incredibly SLOW, we can't use our On Demand feature with Dish because it won't load or takes a crazy amount of time, let alone how ridiculous the data eats up a gig per hour of a show. We started out ok, then it all dropped off. Cable is reportedly coming on our street, then we will switch to them.

I have had Hughes net for over 2 years now and the service has been fine with good internet speed. During the CoronaVirus epidemic they have me let me suspend my account while I am not at my residence. That has helped me a lot. Their service is very good.

Faster loading speeds and quicker downloading. We love it. Hughes Net is an amazing internet provider service and the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. They exceed our expectations by far. My blind daddy is able to call people on his own because of the wonderful service that we are now getting at his home. He is thrilled to regain some of his own life.

The only reason I got their service was because that was the only service in the area. Comcast were working on getting in the area at the time. I wish I should of waited, sign a contract for a year for nothing. This should be illegal, companies selling something that doesn’t exist. It would be like Pepsi selling empty bottles of soda. Their best package at the time whatever I had “plus” they added 50gb to my plan! Really...? 50gb??? If you ever had FIOS or COMCAST before you know 50gb. Ain’t **!! We go through 1000plus/month. To me it was like throwing $120/month in the trash.
For all the people complaining about super slow internet, that’s why, once you run out of whatever gigabytes you have in your plan, your internet becomes slow as hell, they don’t tell you that. There’s always something else. “A virus in your computer” by the time you realize their service is not for you, you’re too late, you, like me end up stuck with a year or two contract and if you decide to cancel get ready because they won’t hesitate to send you to their collection agency.

Talked with a Hughesnet Tech Eddie A. about the system buffering while streaming. We had just got the system set up the night before and the family was very excited to see the results of this high speed service. We stream a lot of Netflix and Prime shows and movies. We sat down to watch something and we kept getting long pauses of buffering. It was worse than our 1.3 mbps Centurylink that we have been using for the last 13yrs. The tech gave us a few things to try and he was helpful. It is still early to tell if it is going to be a good fit for us.
The speeds are great for surfing the internet, but not for streaming videos and movies. I wish I was told that before I bought the $400.00 plus dollars worth of equipment (Didn't want to lease the equipment). I don't know if it will work very well for Google classroom and the online college class my wife is taking? I ran several speed test and it was a steady 20-23 mbps. It would seem that a video would run smooth with those speeds? We are not running anything Hi Def. We also turned the resolution down on Netflix. Hoping we can make a few adjustments and get the streaming steady.

Since I have had HughesNet service installed, I have had continuous buffering & loss of connection. I have increased the amount of service I initially signed up for, but it hasn’t made a difference. I finally got a technician, Deseree, who has helped me understand better what is happening, and did a check on the system.

Billing and refund for WiFi booster status. The person who assisted me (I should have asked his name again) went above and beyond to help me. He was courteous, aimed to resolve my issue and checked in with me every step of the way. He deserves lots of kudos for working hard and expeditiously to resolve my problem!

I called CS regarding slow internet speed, I wasted 51 minutes of my time on the phone with the agent with little success as she proceeded to tell me all is good with her “tests” on her side; I explained to her that her tests did not equal my “reality” of slow internet speed. I requested a technician, my request was denied, I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was put on hold and eventually the call was disconnected. (I don’t know why?)

They provided me the with the necessary waiver and instructions to avoid any additional charges to my account. All HughesNet ads state 25 megs of speed. I get 493 K and your poor tech struggles to fix your lame system. Corona virus is the excuse, and HughesNet has done NOTHING to fix the problem. The first tech suggested that it was my fault. Really? I thought my only responsibility was to pay my bill on time. The second tech tried to fix the problem and did help bring my speed up to 1.2 Gig. You should list me as a reference.

We were not given a program guide, We have asked for one repeatedly, and do not have one yet! We were told that Hughes Net would would take care of telling Dish Network to shut Dish off and found out today that did not happen! 07 -15-20.

The rep did a great job. All he did was adjust the dish. I don’t feel I should have to pay for adjustments. They told me it would cost $150. He was only here for a few minutes. I feel there should be no charge to adjust the dish. Rick.

I order Hughes Net to get internet service. I called. By the way I was not told it was a 400 cancelation fee even if you cancelled the next day. I was not told it is an data service and you can only stream one event a week so not to run out of data then you have to upgrade or buy tokens and the prices are outrageous. The service is very slow also. Oh to cancel you have to pay the fee, send back inside equipment and go on the roof and retrieve the transponder in front of the satellite. I live in an apt on second floor without roof access. I have never heard of that one and only then can I get rid of this so I have been paying a fee monthly fee to put it on hold so not to mess up my credit. Not even using this.

Service discontinued. Was handled in a very fast and friendly manner. Customer service was quick to answer. No long wait on the phone. The service while I had it worked very well. No complaints, Hughes Net seems to be a good solution for areas that otherwise would not have internet service.

I'm a home care worker, if it wasn't for Hughes Net and the entire team I wouldn't be able to help our most vulnerable people such as our disabled, elderly or our veterans. I really have to watch where I go, what I do, which means most tasks I have to do I have to be extremely careful for what I encounter. I will be doing most of my studying as well as certain work tasks online to stay safe not just for me but our community to study to further my climb to hopefully become a Male nurse. I personally want to thank all of the Hughes Net team on assisting those who are like me trying to stay safe and keep our most vulnerable Family, patients, clients, coworkers from thinking nobody cares, and keep their lives as happy as we can. I'm very upset with the way you keep telling me I've used up my monthly plan in just a day or two. I've had issues with your service since it was installed from very slow speeds to having customer service tell me I've used up my monthly allotment on a weekend when I'm gone the whole weekend!! And I'm the only person in the household too!! They're telling me that it's being used recording shows on DirecTV that doesn't require a internet connection to record!!! I'm absolutely P*SS*D OFF about this since it's the second month in a row this has happened and to make matters worse is I just plugged in the new router that went bad (was out for 10 days to 2 weeks) just 8 days ago!! So tell me how I'm using so much data in just 8 days and not home? I'm thinking about going back to CenturyLink to wire service since I never had these issues with them.

I am very aggravated and disappointed in my service and feel like I have been scammed and taken advantage of. When I first called to get internet I specifically told the rep that I only needed wifi to use on my PlayStation 4 to watch Netflix on and play games online. I only had the service since 5/5/2020. The first 30 days I realized the service was slow but figured it was maybe because I had ran out of high speed data (which I learned that I had). So the next month same thing happened. I called the latter part of the second month of service to try to figure out why the internet was always so slow (buffering and not being able to download anything or play online). The rep that I talked to told me that it was just the playstation and to reset the connection and it would work.
Going into the 3rd month of service it was still so slow and buffering and kicking me off of online games so I called again. I called several times and have been given the run around about it being my device that's slow. The rep even had me hook my phone to the wifi and the connection to my phone was slow as well. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was put on hold for almost an hour just to be hung up on. I called back tonight (7/14/202) and finally got put through to a supervisor (his name was Peter). He finally told me that the wifi wouldn't work on my playstation at all and I wouldn't be able to play online or watch netflix on the playstation. I then talked to his supervisor (Mary) and she told me that because I didn't call within 30 days that she couldn't help me with anything.
When I asked to speak with her supervisor she refused to put me through. I then tried calling corporate but only got ahold of reps again. I explained the situation and talked to Shawn and Christopher. Both said that they couldn't help in any way and that I can't get my money back for purchasing equipment that I won't need or can use. I feel like this is very wrong especially since I only had service for 2 and a half months. Plus will be charged the cancellation fee. That puts me at paying altogether almost $1000 for 2 and half months of service that I was very dissatisfied in. Please make this right.

Customer service is good. They always help and pick up the phone. The internet was slow though. Installation was smooth. They have different packages. We had the cheapest package therefore internet was slow. If we had a better package the internet would be good.

Due to the fact my security system runs off of the Wi-Fi My Security system I have called to tell me that my Wi-Fi was too slow so I had to get this problem checked. I had a wonderful technician that took care of me and got things so things were flowing a whole lot better. Very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing. I thank you very much. He help me to understand things that I did not even know about and understand before what a good employee he is to do the right thing for his customers.

My son purchased Hughesnet services for my home, and I decided I wanted another service, because of the bad connection. Hughesnet was disconnected from my home, and I (his mother) made arrangements with Hughesnet to pay off the balance. Hughesnet agreed, and I used my debit card to make payments on the account until paid. My son received a letter today from collections indicating the balance, which was already in the hands of Hughesnet.
I called the number on the letter, and my question to the collections representative, and Supervisor went as follows: "How in the world did my son receive a letter from your collection agency when I was making payments to Hughesnet with my debit card with receipts in hand. How does this happen?" I went on to ask. "When did collection agencies step in to take over while a paying customer is already making payments on an account?" The problem was this: neither one of them could answer my question, and went BLANK ON A RECORDED LINE. #BADBUSINESS

The internet keeps going out. It doesn't have a strong enough connection to keep the "Roku" from buffering all the time. Got hung up on the phone 2 times when trying to get help. I really could not understand the language of the techs.

None of my ** through Hughes Net rarely works if ever. Plus I do not like dealing with foreigners that have no business having access to my personal information aside from the fact that they barely speak English to the point I cannot understand them.

I’ve had HughesNet since May 2020. Despite the advertised promise of high speed internet I don’t have this. In addition, I have a slow startup as well as not being able to stream. Buffering problems & reconnect to your internet messages are constantly flashing across every device I try to use. When I have called about these issues I’m told one of the following. I don’t understand a satellite service. These issues are caused by the high demand of many working from home or more streaming due to quarantines. Something is wrong with all of my devices. While I have appreciated all who have listened to my concerns about this I remain concerned & disappointed they remain.

I Called customer service and requested equipment upgrade. Someone is supposed to call back to schedule date for equipment installation but no one has contacted me to either confirm equipment upgrade schedule Or status of my request. I am still paying for existing gen 3 equipment that is of no use.

Anyway, By the way, I wonder why my wifi is I’m not connected while I’m going yard work. To make it connect just the close perimeter where the WiFi I’m close to it.

We subscribed strictly so I could work from home. So far the connectivity has been mediocre. We have been using our WiFi on our phones to test it and have not been at all impressed. This evening when I needed it with my laptop it was VERY slow. The spotty connectivity on a very clear evening prevented me from registering for work assignments which now translates to thousands of dollars lost. I will NEVER recommend Hughesnet to ANYone!!

Since June 1, I’ve had to call Hughes 6 times, either for loss of internet or poor internet, on 2 occasions technicians have come out, and have not resolved my problem, I would quit Hughes if I had a choice. Frustrated beyond belief the number of hours spent on phone and while technicians come.

I had the old receiver from our previous account with Hughes. I was uncertain if I needed to send this back to Hughes, the customer service person answered my question. I didn't need to send it back as it was very old. I appreciate the quick answer.

When I made a by phone credit card payment yesterday, 7/12/20, I asked the customer service to sent me a receipt to my email confirming payment. She assured me I would receive a receipt. This never happened. I need a receipt for my records. Thanks.

After receiving my June Hughes Net bill I noticed that my invoice went from $120.85 to $146.68. I then pulled my billing from December/19 through May/20. To my surprise every month but two had a different billing amount. I called customer service to complain and was told my latest billing increase of about $25.00 was because my first service year was up in June/20 and my "discount period" was over. The was the first that I was made aware of a "discount period". When I signed up for internet and phone service no mention was made of this. I was told that for a two year contract that I would get free installation and a frozen rate for two years. WHAT'S UP????

The advertised speed was 25 Mbps, but my actual speed would be 5 Mbps at most, even before my data ran out. The "normal" speed was so slow that I would not see a noticeable difference after I had used up all my data. In addition, the internet connection is ultrasensitive to weather conditions. Every time it rains, the connection would either be completely down or significantly degraded.

After watching Channel 295 since we had new box installed and the Genie, we were unable to watch it, it had been taken off. I called tech service and they said it was not in our package. We could get it if we paid for a higher cost package. If it isn't in our package, why do they put it in there. We really like the channel and now they want more money. We really liked that channel. As I told the tech, I am going to start looking for another TV provider.

My wife works for the NYS Judiciary as a Chief Clerk. Due to the pandemic she has to work from home every other week. She has a laptop computer that the NYS Judiciary gave her to use for court business through a VPN channel. After speaking to your representative he told me that nothing could be done to improve the speed! This is ridiculous, she has no choice here. You need to provide a high speed Internet that provides the same speed as cable.

When I called customer Service 1st time was told it was a problem elsewhere and to check back in 3-4 days. Not happy did not receive any credit for time down after being told I would get a credit. Once tech came on site he did a great job and got us back up and running.

I have called about how it is slow and they tell me "oh no you have a fast speed". But when I run a speed test I am only getting 1.6 upload and 1.4 download. If I save a file to my company's server it can take 5 to 6 minutes.

The Tech was just out a few weeks ago. He was great and the service improved for 2 days until the next rainstorm. Whenever it rains I completely lose my service until it stops. Is there some fix for this issue? Very frustrating!

She was great!!!! She was able to take care of my request to help disconnect the internet service - I have a MiFi through Verizon and this was eating all of my data plan. I did not need the genie service through Directv. Always have had great luck with Directv.

After having spoken on 2 different occasions with HughesNet representatives over the course of the last 2 months, I am ready to give up and switch to a different service. I called and explained the problem to the agent, and he seemed to know what the issue was. The agent Then ran some tests, then told me to reboot the iPhone, and that fixed the problem. He was courteous and efficient through the process. I am happy with the customer service.

When I inquired about Hughes Net, the person I talked to had numerous times where there was a great deal of other talking and laughing in the background. I repeatedly told her I was hard of hearing and it was difficult for me to understand and her reply was that there was a meeting going on. She also never explained about additional gigs, etc. She also told me that after I had paid the initial payment on a credit card, I could request a paper billing at no extra charge which I found was not the truth when I tried to request paper billing when my phone finally was transferred.
Our installer was GREAT. He explained things and did a great job. When trying to get our phone number transferred from our previous carrier, I heard nothing and was not aware that I was to request a transfer until I received an email on June 22 after I had contacted Hughes Net to see if it had been done. I spent 4 1/2 hours on the phone with our previous carrier to get the transfer code needed and I called Hughes on June 24th and relayed the number and told them that the code was only good for 7 days. I received a voice mail on 6/25 asking if I had the transfer code to which I again called and talked to Jane. She then followed through.
On June 29th, I again called and talked to Daniel as I was concerned that I had not heard anything and was concerned about the code expiring. He assured me that it had been started so even if it went past the 7 days, it would be all right as it had been started. On July 7th I was informed the transfer had gone through. All this time, I was paying both bills as I was not able to cancel the hot spot from the previous carrier for fear that they would also cancel the phone. Hopefully, things will start looking up.

My wifi was not working correct. After I talked to cs and within 45 min to an hour. He figure out what was going on. It kept crashing, so he sent me another wifi. He has a great personality. He help me through it. LOL.

I can’t get my internet to work. I have talked to several people with Hughesnet about it. It is slow, buffs throughout or does not work at all. I have already signed a 24 months. Do I have to suffer the whole 24 months with no good service. I have to use a hot spot with another company just to watch a movie.

I was having trouble downloading games onto my tablet, and I called to see if there was something wrong with my internet. The person who helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly and he helped me with my problem! As it turned out, it was not the internet, my tablet is just old. I was really hoping getting a Dish was going to resolve my internet issues. Spectrum service was horrible in my area with constant intermittent service. With the Dish I am getting slow internet speeds and completely no internet when there are clouds or storms. So I am back to using my cell phone Mobile Hotspot as a back up which seems to be more reliable than either Spectrum or Dish/HughesNet. Really disappointed. Then when I hit the Submit button to Submit this review it literally said "Internet Connection Lost" Wow. Unreal.

Had service for close to a year before trying to rectify slow internet connections, nothing being done at all, everyone who works there has been trained in the runaround game, actually had one person tell me that their high-speed internet service didn't work on the internet???, what the? Or the games wouldn't play if they were live so I guess it's solitary, confinement from the world wide web and the card game, that or pay outrageous fees to a criminal enterprise that I truly can't believe are still in business, what's this world coming to when a company as blatant as this one is allowed to keep fleecing hard working folks out of their hard earned income?

I would not recommend this company to anyone, it is frustrating enough just trying to play games or watch movies but after reading some other reviews about folks trying to work with this service, I consider myself lucky, there needs to be a reckoning and it needs to be soon.

Satellite service is all that is available to me at this current time. There have been issues, however HughesNet has been very diligent about resolving my issues. I have been with them since 2011 and fully plan on staying with them.

Unfortunately your employees go by the script. My issues are with the bandwidth. You state "x" amount of speed but reality is it's just below the threshold of 3gb but closer to 2 or 11/2 so some channels like Hulu have a hard time connecting. Sometimes I use my mobile data to stream channels. I rarely download. I upload 95% of the time. Sometimes I cannot watch my programs or it takes 4-6 attempts and maybe it connects. Your service is better than nothing. So the service is but truth in disclosure is not even you claim near 25gb. Never saw past 4. Your service is better than nothing. So I suffer about 25% of the time. So then before I resubmit this your connection is conveniently lost. Will submit through mobile data.

Arrived on time. Installation was very good. Just got service, hopefully it will remain as good in the coming months as it is now. I have had other people tell me they have had a good experience with Hughes Net so we will see how things go in the coming years.

On installing Fire Stick finding that the service was outdated and discontinued and obsolete and was not informed that needed update. Like happened in the past when Hughes in the past when hughes was a good company to be trusted. After discuss and when we were going to go to Dish I decided to give hughes one more chance. I had an issue with transferring my Hughes Net e-mail account to my cell phone. The representative was very patient and told me he would check on the matter for me. I, however, was able to finally figure out how to solve the matter. When I have called them in the past, they have always been patient and polite.

Smart antenna module failed. On-line support correctly identified the problem area and scheduled repair. Repairman quickly worked through a sequence of tests to isolate the problem area, explained what he was doing and replaced the damaged component. All parties were quick, knowledgeable, informed me of their process, and solved my problem in a speedy fashion. Just what customers desire to happen.

Overall very pleased with HughesNet. The only reason we canceled is because we sold our home. The only issues we had was when we first set it up it was really slow until the dish was adjusted properly and when we cancelled one of the reps was pushy about not letting us cancel. Speed is too slow. Can't even watch a weather video without it stopping. Can't watch any On Demand programs on tv not any!!! Sometimes when I want to download a YouTube video or other video the screen will stop and says it timed out. Because connection speed is too slow. I can’t remember the young lady’s name that help me connect my Netflix to the internet. I always say customer service is a thing of the past. We often hear how millennials are nonchalant and lazy. NOT!!! This young lady went above and beyond on my call. I’m 65 yrs young and my computer skills are very limited. She was both professional and sensitive to my needs. Never rushed me or made me feel less than capable of following her instructions. Kudos to her. She’s my “SUPERWOMAN”. An asset to the company. A service tech was sent to our home to determine what was wrong. He reprogrammed the modem and has been fine since then. I am unhappy about the $125.00 service charge I was informed of when I called. I called after it was fixed and talked with your Rep, Katie and she took $20.00 off my next three monthly bills. I appreciate that but I feel the $125.00 service fee is exorbitant. We lease the equipment, you own it. I don't feel we should be charged for any failure of the equipment unless the damage was caused by us.
At this time my wife and I are both out of work due to her illness and I have to stay home to care for her. As I said I was very happy with the service tech and the customer service rep. Very unhappy with your repair policy. The gentleman was at my home less than 30 minutes. Lot of money for 30 minutes of work. I appreciate the follow up on your part and the $60.00 credit but my July service will still cost me more than $170.00.

I like my internet service, which works in a very area that has poor landline service. Very Slow! My Sat Phone has not been the best in that it drops calls, and sets a very small amount of time to dial the phone or it will "tap out". I have trouble keeping connections with parties who put you on hold.

Live streaming is frequently interrupted. The interruptions are so constant, that keeping up with storylines can become a difficult task. It's worse when the weather becomes a little windy or cloudy. Tech support was questionable! Somewhat of a run around, poor communication with online rep. the 6 day out scheduled appointment was unacceptable. But after talking with a LOCAL service rep., I was able to get next day service. THAT gentleman was remarkable and with some difficulty powering up the system had the service up and running. At one time, our tech had to wait an hour to get authorization from corporate to complete the job. Great local tech; poor online support. Bring it back to the USA.

I reached out to get my billing date reset to after my check came; when I originally subscribed the billing date was the 8th of the month, it then became the 5th, and finally it was the 3rd. (I incurred overdraft fees due to the payment coming out a week early). I requested the date to become the 10th. The representative was very cordial and helpful. My service is good, but it is pricey for my income.

I've only had your service a few short weeks, if that. Today we are experiencing a few passing thunderstorms and have noticed a definite loss of speed, and on occasion, no connection at all. My iPhone is showing strong internet connection, but the speed is dreadful, almost as if it isn’t even there. We purchased a Linksys signal booster, but it doesn’t seem to help much if at all. Our Samsung Smart TV says our internet speed to be .008 Mbps, not nearly enough according to Google. HELP!!!

When watching Roku, Flex, Pluto channels they are buffering. This is a smart TV. Have called previously concerning this issue. Was told by the first representative that if I still had problems they may have to come out and adjust the dish, the second representative told me it could be handled over the phone, well still having issues. The customer service person was knowledgeable but I have been without internet since 7/5/20. I didn’t call til the 6th as I thought it was just busy like it is when I want to use it! I can’t use it outside and it doesn’t come in very well in the living room.? I don’t feel I use it a lot and the price is high for a senior citizen on a fixed income. It won’t come in out on my patio either. Imagine I will not get a refund for the week I have been waiting to get the internet fixed.

I previously used a Jetpak as my method of connecting to the internet. The web pages would take long to load or sometimes the connection would get lost after streaming for a long time. I frequently had to reload the website. When applying updates, I often experience lost connections to the servers due to slow service. I don’t experience these issues anymore since I started using Hughesnet.

I contacted HughesNet to report technical problem with my TV and for no service on my home phone. I was told by the technician that it would cost me a $125.00 service call. I refused to pay that for a simple maintenance request and that I also had the monthly service plan since the start of my service in August 2018. She said, "Yes, I do see that so I’ll schedule you for our next available appointment." She asked me try to do some self fix test, but I explained to her that I was legally blind, and therefore am not able to see wires or plugs or connections. The tech said ok, she understands. That was the end of our conversation.
My July bill is normally $94.00, however this bill was $234.00. I called Billings office and was told I gave her permission. That is an outright lie. I Did not ever agree to that. The Billings supervisor told me it is the technician’s notes. I distinctly and specifically told the technician that I Would NOT agree to that since I had the HughesNet home service plan. Why would I do that? With my limited veteran’s SSI monthly income. They know this is wrong and unfair and illegal to charge a customer for anything that was not agreed up on before services are rendered. I request a full refund returned to my account.

Hughes internet has been great. Speed is good. Only time I lose internet service is if there is a bad storm and usually that is only for a short period of time. Price is good for the service received compared to other carriers.

We needed a tech to come out cause we didn't have internet. The tech came out, replaced the dish and modem. Great job. Then I got a notice from the bank of an overdraw.. Checked and seen where Hughesnet deducted $127.00 from out acct. I called and was told it's a service truck fee. Really??? Nothing was said about this fee and the CSR wouldn't refund the $$$ but she did give me a credit of $60. From our acct. We weren't told or gave authorization for this charge.

I’m still having problems with them, as they expect me (I’m a 64 year old lady) to go up on the roof and get a pice off the dish before they’ll quit charging me!!!! I can't access most streaming services effectively if at all. Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus don't work well, and those are the main reasons I want to have internet besides work. I also wasn't able to use voice over IP for work, which could've cost me my job.

I had discontinued CenturyLink, to get Hughes Internet, thinking it would be a little faster. Now my computer is slower and stalls. But now I'm stuck in a 2 year contract and have already paid out $175.74. I don't have the funds to get an upgrade to a faster speed.

My customer service rep was Mary and she was awesome!!! Best rep ever! Needed help to change due date thanks to coronavirus and she not only helped me change the date to something more along my pay schedule but gave me a few extra days to make sure my service wouldn't be interrupted!

Once high speed data is gone for the month everything either will not load or load very slow. But the customer service has been great and while have high speed data the service is great and runs fast. And love that there is certain times where you have extra data you use instead of your normal data.

Technician was courteous. He couldn't fix the problem but escalated it. He did say that someone would call me back within a day. This is day 2 and no callback was received. We still have intermittent service. Can't stream even a song all the way through. Shuts down. Laptop response very, very slow.

The girl "Lei" sounded very knowledgeable and was quite pleasant, but the visit did not give me any results. So I unhooked my modem from the dish and the electricity and some hours later reconnected....now I have service. She told me my problem was atmospheric disturbances.... After hanging up, I checked the Weather Channel radar, there was no bad storms anywhere except north of Chicago and on the east coast.... She also said my server is Gateway out of Midland TX (985 miles away from my home according to Google Maps). I told her I have continually been refused access to my Illinois Lottery Gaming online because it says my computer is not in Illinois. She said that could be changed, but never followed through with getting that done....
I go online to shop at like Walmart, Target, etc. and they tell me my nearest store is Poolesville MD 20837, and Redding CA 96001, and Wichita KS 67205, and quite frequently towns in North Carolina and Virginia (as you can see in the attachment - - I did not enter the zip code, it provided it)...and now she tells me my server is in Texas??? I have over-all been satisfied with my Hughes Net service, but would like to have a server in Illinois.... Thank you.

My previous review was not nice, but it was accurate. After about 6 months things got better and have stayed good. I would be willing to suggest them to a friend or family member. The service has been consistent in quality.

For over 6-months I have had trouble with the internet. It usually connects fine, then I get the message "not connected try again in _____seconds". It usually does not reconnect and I have to close everything down and reboot the computer and sometimes I need to reboot the modem. I have called customer service a number of times. In May I was told the problem is on their end and they are working on it. For my troubles they give me a $30 credit for 6 months, which is nice. I did not realize the $30 credit was apparently in lieu of fixing the problems. Last night I was listening to a song 5 minutes and 23 seconds and I kept getting the "magic circle" while it loaded. 12 minutes and 42 seconds later the song was done. It does not matter the time of day as I have had issues with it at 2 in the morning.

I talked to two different agents and asked them to email me a copy of my last bill with the cancellation fee amount. They both assured me they would, no problem. I need it to be reimbursed for the fee. I don't have a copy because I had automated payment.

I called in today, I’m supposed to have unlimited service, never has been up to speed, EVER! I’m paying a premium price for dial up speed! And unlimited has a data cap?? Makes no sense! None! HughesNet blocked my incoming emails on June 25th for some reason. I've called every day and been told problem would be resolved in 24 hours and I would receive a call back. Problem still not resolved after 15 days. I've lost business and suffered financially from this problem and spent hours on the phone to no avail. Very disappointed in HughesNet service.

When the installer came to set up my new service, I was asked to pay $1.25 per foot to bury the cable outside about 75ft. I refused. Now, I need to know when you will either bury the cable or remove the equipment and refund my payment.

I called and reported the lack of service. They said they would check while I was on the line. When they returned I was able to tell them it was back on and thanked them. Then, the next day, they called and asked if I was pleased with the service I had received. I told them absolutely.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!! Slow as a snail, 20 gbps per month and always run out before the end of 30 days. When I signed up for Hughes, I was assured that it would be more than enough for what I wanted, but it's not and all they can tell me is it must be something I am doing. I use a laptop and it is slower than molasses. Most of the time less than 4 Mbps. I live in a remote area and there is not a lot of choice but I am looking.

Speed sucks. You don't give what is paid. For. I think you lie about the service you can provide. I paid for 25mg only get 3 or 5mg. It buffers all the time. Can not video chat. I can get same service for 6 dollars on phone line.

First call I made did not resolve anything. Representative was courteous but didn't have answers, scheduled service appt. 2nd call was curt, not friendly, lost connection and did not call me back. I do not feel I should have to pay for repair service when the problem is in your equipment which I already pay to lease. This is my 1st disappointment with Hughes.

When trying to stream from my Roku apps like Prime video, Hulu, etc...it seems to have to load very frequently if it loads at all. I figured Hughesnet would be better than Frontier being it's satellite, but I am beginning to think I made a mistake. I am very disappointed!!

The guy who helped me was very nice and he tried his best. He upgraded me however I do not know why I upgraded. Hughesnet is terrible...it is slow...confused by clouds...and half the time I have to turn it off and surf using LTE. Hughesnet is terrible and what I feel to be a big scam but it is the only option I have. It is terrible. I gave four stars for the guy I talked to but not for the service. If I was giving stars to the service you would get zero stars. As soon as there is another option for my internet where I live I plan to drop this useless crap. If you charged me half of what you charge me it would still be considered highway robbery. Hughesnet SUCKS!!!!

I got HughesNet in May of 2017. I had issues with speed so I called and was told my issue was because hughes net wasn’t iPhone or iPad friendly. It would greatly help if I got the higher data plan. So I thought about for a few days and decided that our service was so bad I had to do something. I called back in to hughes net and asked about getting the 30 plan. I asked if I could cancel without if it didn’t help without a cancellation fee and I was told absolutely. So I went on ahead with the upgrade. It still hasn’t helped and I was told today that the person that I spoke with when I upgraded my plan lied to me. They do what they have to retain customers on the “hook” for as long as they can. I wish I had never went with hughes net.

Internet worked fine for a while, two weeks, then no internet at all. At first the reset on the modem worked to get internet back but soon this went in out internet then no internet at all. My live person connections on a Facebook or Zoom call complained too. Suddenly, except for my Android phone, I had no internet connection. This is newly installed and should be the most reliable connection possible! Please help me get the internet back. I have a group talk due "In Search of the Next Leonardo Da Vinci, Environmental New Earth Solutions" and homework for another group MTDT. Help please!

Hello, My internet service was transferred into the new homeowner's name, Brenda **. Since we have made the switch, I keep receiving emails and communication from HughesNet and I should no longer be the point of contact, according to our customer service representative. Brenda had tried calling customer service about getting her internet service connected over 4th of July weekend but no one would speak to her because they said that she is not on the account and that they would have to speak to me or a supervisor to have such authorization.
She gave our customer service representative her debit card information over the phone so that payments would be drawn from her account....If she is not allowed to call in and make changes to the account, then she should not be billed for this service. I hope this can get resolved and that she is able to have internet service and MY name is completely OFF the account and she is the sole contact person for this account.

I call billing because I wanted them to know that I lost wifi service for 29 days. I had 4 service visits from technicians who did not know what today do. The 4th visit did seem to fix the situation, but this was after my husband took 25 trees down to make sure the satellite signals were not obstructed. Hughes Net initially set up the satellite, but apparently it was in the wrong place. I did not feel that I should be charged for loss of service or for the service calls because it was not our fault that the signals were obstructed. We spent our time and money to open up the sight line for the signal, which prevented Hughes from having to relocate the satellite. I was given a refund for having no service and also was not charged for the techs visit who did not seem to understand how to fix this. The customer service rep was very understanding and adjusted the unfair charges.

Installer was efficient and professional. He worked with us on determining the best location for the dish and did a great job with the actual installation. Cables were secured properly. The installer made sure the system was functional and that we understood it’s operation. Overall, a good installation experience.

My income is very fixed and I cannot afford to pay 62.00 a month for internet. If not for the discount I would have to give it up. I live in an area where we do not have cell service or cable or anything like that. So I appreciate very much the opportunity to have my internet. I was told a refund would appear on my credit card in one to seven days. They practice "bad business" because it's been 15 days since I called for my refund. There is no one there who will even try to help and I've been very civil and courteous. Do not deal with this fraudulent company.

My bill was increased by $30.00 without prior notice. I cant watch my smart TV due to it continually buffering, on Sunday 7/5 from 10 AM until 3 PM my service was interrupted every 2 seconds!!!! I unplugged the modem to reset it several times without improvement. I gave up after that.

The internet is a little faster than our old service provider, but we have had issues during storms where it stops or moves even slower. For example, while trying to submit this survey, I had to try three times before it would go. Kept getting an error message saying "Connection Lost." Our installer was awesome, though. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

When my Wi-Fi went down I called Hughes Net and was told that weather had a lot to do with it even though it was cloudy. The weather was not bad. I was told to unplug the modem wait for a minute then plug in. It is now working. Thank you.

When I called the guy answer weird name can't remember. He said, "Hold. I have a friend that can walk you through it." Mind you I waited 35 mins later and heard the automated voice say, "Continue to hold. We will transfer you." And 10 more mins later nothing. So I just hung up. Families don't have 1 hr to wait to solve an issue. Next time take care of it on the first call not send to another person to take care of the customer.

Continuously being told that I had no internet connection on computer. Extremely slow when posting on Facebook, ie taking up to 12 hours to post on most entries. When going to Gmail, or banking site, it is not unusual to wait for up to 12 minutes.

Just a drop of rain and it's freeze up. What up with that. I wish they would have explained that before I join, service need to get better soon, did they put it in the wrong spot or what, is this a common problem.
